"Arya wouldn't have been able to survive in KL" is really one of the dumbest fanon takes where you can tell someone only believes it because they like the idea of Arya and Sansa being "exact opposites and perfect complements" (even though it goes against the books). Actual evidence from the books to back it up? Never anywhere to be found despite how confidently people make this claim.
And not only does it severely mischaracterize Arya and ignore what she's been through, it also ignores her importance as a political hostage. The Lannisters weren't searching for her, and lying about having her, for no reason. They needed her because having only one Stark after executing Ned put them in a poor position to negotiate. So Arya would have been more than capable of handling herself (thoroughly shown in her Harrenhal chapters) and the Lannisters would've done everything in their power to keep her alive but, somehow, she wouldn't have been able to survive? It's truly one of those takes that falls apart if you think about it for more than two seconds but apparently, that's too much effort for some people.
#arya stark#asoiaf#as song of ice and fire#anti sansa stans#cause they're the main culprits#the story comes secondary to putting Arya down to prop Sansa up for some people though#it's just one of the dumbest and easily disprovable takes in this fandom#I don't even get mad when I see it cause I know it's not based on anything in the story and it's just fanon misinterpretations#and then they try to be neutral and say that Sansa wouldn't have been able to survive what Arya did but they NEVER point out Arya's#skills + intelligence or talk about what Sansa lacks in comparison or why she wouldn't have been able to survive#a majority of the time it's just /Sansa wouldn't have been able to pass as a boy/ cause they hate complimenting Arya#I'm supposed to buy Sansa as the smartest character in the books but there's nothing in her chapters that her own stans can use to prove it#they have to rely on dropping the intelligence and skills of other characters to make room for her and we're just supposed to ignore that#/Arya wouldn't have been able to survive/ instead of pointing out Sansa's actual skills okay okay got it#personally I'm going to use quotes from my faves chapters to prove their intelligence but I guess that's only if it's actually there...

No one asked, but my favorite part of the scene where Mikey comforts Leatherhead in front of his brothers isn't just that they're witnessing it.
It's the varying reactions we get.
It's a literal "blink and you'll miss it" moment, but Raph hardly reacts to Mikey's display; he's the first to turn to Donnie and signal him to inquire about the power cell.

We've seen how he looks when Mikey genuinely catches him off guard, and this isn't one of those moments.
It's fitting that Raph would be the least surprised by the spectacle because he's often portrayed to be the one who best understands Mikey, even in the 2012 comics when Leo and Donnie scold Mikey for his lack of focus in one issue (there are other examples). While they argue with Mikey, Raph is seen chilling in the background because he doesn't have that big of an issue with Mikey's attention span, and he even calls Mikey out when he claims he's not bothered by their comments as he walks out in irritation. He then goes on to scold Leo and Donnie later for running Mikey off as they look for him. He may be the biggest culprit when it comes to calling Mikey out once his attention starts to stray, but contrary to what he said in New Friend, Old Enemy, he understands Mikey quite well, sometimes better than anyone else.
So seeing Mikey pull the therapist card on someone isn't out of the ordinary for him. He knows Mikey well enough to anticipate something like this.
Leo's next in line for actually reacting very subtly to Mikey pulling Leatherhead out of his headspace.
His eyes are already widened by the time the camera pans back to him, but they widen an extra notch before he too turns back to Donnie.
Leo has borne witness to Mikey's skills plenty of times prior to this episode, and we can take their decade-and-a-half spent underground into consideration, so seeing Mikey behave so compassionately doesn't strike him as anything supremely noteworthy. But he's clearly impressed that Mikey managed to befriend the hostile mutant in such a short amount of time; he recognizes that his youngest brother is mentally intelligent and strong enough to calm down the easily angered Leatherhead while no one else thought it to be feasible.
It surprises him, but Leo understands that Mikey is the most sympathetic out of all of them, and he doesn't take long to get over his surprise.
Donnie, on the other hand, takes the longest amount of time to move on from what transpired.

Unlike Raph's lack of feedback and Leo's mental approbation, Donnie is awestruck.
As I said before, I highly doubt this is anyone's first time seeing the level of maturity Mikey has, but (and it's a very close race) Donnie's the main one out of the brothers who both accidentally and purposefully sees Mikey as the tactless, accident prone little brother everyone makes him out to be most of the time. Though he knows Mikey is proficient at critical thinking when he's needed to be, bringing in a mutant with violent tendencies and perceptible trauma that gets triggered by the mention of a name isn't a territory they've frequented.
And yet, much like Leo, he sees for himself that Mikey was clearly capable of mellowing Leatherhead out and knew how to steer him away from his horrendous memories with the Kraang.

INTRODUCING MY FURRY GUYS I GUESS. OR WHATEVER.

Kicking off this account I guess with a selection of (at this point, quite old) Toyhouse icons I did of my miscellaneous OC’s. All from basically the same universe, but some of them may be part of different unrelated stories from one another
Below the cut, I’ll give a super brief description of my main OC stories and who each character is is.
—————————————— I have three or four story projects in active/current development at the present, but I’ll introduce the two most developed ones.
My main one is currently in need of a new title, but it’s a horror dramedy / murder mystery. about my fictional band with the tremendously on-the-nose name Dead Celebrities— whose rise to fame also coincides with a series of strange murders of several other prominent musicians in town. The story basically revolves around the members of the band trying to deduce who may be responsible for the killings, all while trying to stay alive themselves. The further they investigate, not only do they begin suspect one of their own may be the culprit, but that said culprit may be involved with even more sinister forces than they could have imagined.
My second one is called The Devil You Know, which revolves around the lead protagonist Nico who aspires to be a famous rock musician, but feels stifled by his chronic ailments and lack of skill. Through a boredom induced ouija board mishap, he finds himself summoning a demon who makes a deal with him to grant him otherworldly musical skill— unfortunately this leads to said demon possessing Nico, so now he must live with the experience of having the world’s worst roommate and a parasite wrapped up all in one ancient evil entity.
——————————————
As for the individual characters, I’ll introduce each in picture order from left to right.
1 / JESSE: Grumpy, broody, moody guitarist for an 80’s rock / heavy metal band called Dead Celebrities. Deep down very kind and sensitive despite what his aloof, offputting demeanor may indicate. Many wild town rumors circulate around him due to his mysterious nature, all of which are far more interesting than his actual life. Main protagonist of my murder mystery story. Also the main one trying to investigate the murders.
2 / CHERRY: One of Jesse’s best friends and member of Dead Celebrities’ rival band called Lost Daughters. A sarcastic spitfire and also her band’s lead singer. Is basically everyone’s wise older sister… even if she’s a bit smug about it sometimes. Part of the murder mystery story.
3 / PINK: Part of a story somewhat unrelated to the two I mentioned. His story takes place in the late 2000’s-early 2010’s. Former teen heartthrob kid’s sitcom actor turned somewhat washed up emo singer and social media personality. Has been cancelled every week for the past several years. Has made multiple YouTube apology videos. He’s kind of a fuckboy asshole (but he does redeem himself somewhat)
4/ WILEY: Weirdo bassist for Dead Celebrities and armchair paranormal expert. Professionally mentally ill, couch surfs and does odd jobs for income. Freaks out his roommates by doing seances in the apartment. Part of the murder mystery story. Is Donnie’s older half-brother.
5/ MEPHISTOPHELES: Demon. Nico’s parasite. Will drink all your pepsi and call you a bitch. Is the eternal spirit of a former musician. Part of the The Devil You Know story.
6/ DONNIE: Dorky rhythm guitarist and occasional keyboardist for Dead Celebrities. Painfully earnest and sweet. Has an unrequited crush on Jesse. Chronic nervous wreck but overcompensates with extreme friendliness. Overcaffeinated, sleep-deprived med school student. Part of the murder mystery story. Is Wiley’s little half-brother.
7/ EDDIE: Dead Celebrities’ drummer and casanova extraordinaire. Good with the business side of the band stuff. Gregarious, excitable, goofy personality. Really having fun with the whole rock-star persona thing. Think Jack Black type vibes. He’s also Cherry’s boyfriend. Part of the murder mystery story.
8/ RIOT: Part of a story partially connected to the murder mystery one. Goofy himbo glam metal party boy who don’t want nothin’ but a good time. Clinically oblivious.
9/ NICO: Perpetually anxious, poorly socialized shut-in with chronic illness and barely any exposure to the outside world. Craves a change of pace in the form of fame, but unfortunately a deal with a demon to gain said musical prowess resulting in said evil entity taking up partial residence in his body wasn’t the kind of shake-up he was wanting. Not to mention, the effects of acute demon possession have been taking a serious toll on his health… Part of the The Devil You Know story.

headcanons! Muzan or Kokushibo with undead warrior! s/o revived by unknown forces? they can't feel pain, can't sleep or eat and also can't pull out the broken weapon that killed them, no matter how hard they tried-
Got it~
Content Warnings: A slight bit of violence, nothing too explicit.
Kokushibou x Undead Warrior! Reader
Kokushibou was… surprised, disbelieving your claims of being undead, at first. Initially, he figured it was a prank or some kind of joke. He was shocked since… well, he did just see you not too long ago, and you were very dead at that point.
He probably tried to stab you… well, that didn’t work out like you thought, did it Kokushibou? You didn’t even flinch, since his blade was no longer a threat.
The sword, the culprit of your death, could not be removed. He did give it his best effort, to his credit, but it was fruitless - and mildly uncomfortable for you.
With no biological needs, you were able to keep up with him while he was kept away on missions. When you were alive, the main factor that kept you separated while he was busy was the fact that you had to rest, eat, or heal from your wounds caused by battle, and therefore could not stay with him all the time.
You spend every day together now, waiting for nightfall with him wherever he might be hiding from the sun that day. During those hours, you spend time reading, talking, or just laying with one another. Silence befalls you both for hours at a time, but it is quiet of comfort.
Since getting hurt wasn't major a concern anymore, you were able to fully throw yourself into sparring, no longer held back by the risk of harm. Lacking the restraints of life, you were able to greatly improve your combat skills, putting up a hard fight for Kokushibou to win against.
Kokushibou does try to keep you away from his work as much as he can, but Muzan is still aware that you exist. As long as you don’t interfere too greatly with his plans or Kokushibou’s work, he could care less.
Overall, your relationship remained the same for the most part, though now you were able to be closer, physically and emotionally, since he no longer had to worry over losing you to time or battle.
...
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day~

Film #920: 'The Unknown', dir. Tod Browning, 1927.
Keeping track of the films on the list is often a complicated task, especially when you're trying to find films years in advance of any opportunities to watch them. The master spreadsheet I keep has about two dozen films that are still marked 'UNKNOWN' in orange, and ironically Tod Browning's The Unknown was among them for over a decade. Fortunately, a restoration was undertaken in 2022, and you can now find the Criterion version easily accessible.
Silent film is a fascinating subject after a century of sound pictures. It operated with a very limited palette of techniques, and as such needed to make the most of what it had available. People often complain that silent films are too 'theatrical', but the lack of synchronised sound meant that a silent film in fact had fewer tools at its disposal than the theatre did. While modern films can use realistic sound (or its lack thereof) to punctuate, draw attention to or minimise particular moments of a film, in silent films these tasks had to be shifted onto an actor's performance or onto the film's musical score. Even the use of a score was not foolproof, as theatre musicians would have to compare the requested music with what they had available. A larger toolbox available in contemporary cinema has evened out the workload, and it's less common to see a modern film rely so heavily on, say, performance. Tod Browning's film, though, is a stellar example of how films from before the advent of talking pictures honed these elements - to the point where you almost forget that you're watching something with no audible dialogue.

The star attraction of a circus in Spain, Alonzo the Armless (Lon Chaney)'s main act is to use his feet to throw knives. He is smitten with his partner in this act, Nanon (Joan Crawford), who is also the daughter of the circus ringmaster, Zanzi. Nanon has a fear of being touched or held by men, which means that she easily finds solace in her friendship with Alonzo, and spurns the advances of the strongman, Malabar (Norman Kerry). Eager to further draw Nanon into his clutches, Alonzo encourages Malabar to display his strength to Nanon more and more. The situation is complicated when it is revealed that Alonzo actually still has his arms - he hides them in a corset to make his act more sensational. Alonzo's friendship with Nanon infuriates Zanzi and, after an altercation, Zanzi discovers that Alonzo still has his arms. Out of rage and fear, Alonzo strangles Zanzi to death. Nanon sees the strangling (and in particular, that the culprit has two thumbs on one hand) - but doesn't recognise Alonzo - and her fear is exacerbated. A cursory police investigation doesn't find the culprit, and when the circus moves on, Alonzo and Nanon stay in town, with Alonzo hoping that he might be able to draw Nanon's affections more.
Before long, Nanon embraces Alonzo - an act that alarms Alonzo's friend and servant, Cojo, who worries that Nanon will see through the deception. Realising that he is so accustomed to hiding his arms that he can get by without them, Alonzo hatches a plan to have both arms amputated, which will conveniently hide any evidence that it was he who killed Zanzi. He blackmails a doctor into performing the surgery, and hides from Nanon for the period of his recovery. During this time, ironically, Nanon overcomes her fear of "men and their hands", and kindles a romance with Malabar. Together, they plan a new theatrical show, built around Malabar's strongman skills.
When Alonzo has recovered, he visits Nanon and Malabar at the theatre (hilariously, Nanon notices that his torso is a lot thinner than it was before). They reveal their engagement to Alonzo, and describe the centrepiece of their new act, in which Malabar uses ropes to tether two horses running on treadmills in opposite directions. Alonzo is driven to hysterics by the news, especially because it was delivered in a way that got his hopes up tremendously, and plans to disrupt the performance so that Malabar is maimed in the process (as Malabar cheerfully admits, if a treadmill stops suddenly, "the horses would tear my arms from my body"). During the show, Alonzo locks away the technician who controls the treadmills, and abruptly slows the treadmills, panicking the horses. Nanon tries to calm the horses down to prevent them killing Malabar; Alonzo then pushes her to safety before he is fatally trampled by one of the horses. With Alonzo out of the picture, Malabar and Nanon can finally spend their lives together in security.

This is a relatively brisk summary of the plot, but it's put in greater context when you realise that the film is only about fifty minutes long. There's a small pile of things in the plot that make no sense - why does Alonzo, who is certain Nanon would come to forgive him for having arms, elect to have them both amputated, and not just remove his extra thumb? Why doesn't Alonzo come up with any explanation for his absence while recovering? - but the film moves along at such a breakneck pace that there's no time to properly question any of them before the next complication arises. Characters are also very fond in this film of saying the most on-the-nose things imaginable, partly as a way of dispensing with any long and realistic exposition. It doesn't take Alonzo long to realise his plan at the end of the film, mostly because Malabar outright says the plan aloud for him. Nanon unintentionally rubs salt into Alonzo's (literal) wounds when she says "I used to be afraid of Malabar's hands, but I love them now."
This excessiveness is one of my favourite elements of The Unknown. It operates in both directions - the excess of comedy becoming farce, and the excess of violence. When the performance with the horses at the end of the film goes awry, Browning cuts rapidly and close, drawing attention to the strain on Malabar's shoulders through close-up shots (and the version of the soundtrack used in the Criterion release piles on the kettledrums at this moment to underscore the tension. It feels like we're moments away from witnessing some terrific gore effects, even though those would be decades away when the film was produced. There are moments, though, where the emotional effect is deflated through farce. The moment Zanzi discovers that Alonzo still has his arms, Alonzo deals with this by... immediately hiding his arms behind his back. These moments sell the horror even more by contrasting them against the absurd.
Lon Chaney's acting is the heart of this film. It's the thing that lets us look past the absurdities of the plot, and buy into the emotional veracity of the film. Although many of the scenes of more fine motion were done with a stunt double, Chaney learned to manipulate things with his feet for wider shots, and it's deeply believable. Audiences at the time would have known that Chaney was not a double-amputee, but the opening scenes of the film sell this so well that the audience I was with murmured in shock when his arms were revealed. Chaney throws the whole of himself into the more emotional scenes, too, so that the intertitles are often superfluous to understanding the direction of a conversation. The performance has to carry a lot of weight throughout the film, too: Alonzo is a murderer and a con artist, driven to extremes by unrequited love, who then descends into hysterics when it is revealed that his extreme measures were unnecessary. In two minutes, he needs to go from hope that Nanon might intend to marry him, to shock that she has fallen for Malabar, to frenzied laughter when he realises he has had his arms chopped off for nothing. Are the emotions overplayed? Sure. But they're in proportion to the scope of the film, and Chaney has an ability to move between these emotions lightning-quick without being abrupt.

Browning does something really interesting with this film, though: he uses the cinematic tools to play into his themes. The best example of this is in the scene where Alonzo realises his plan to have his arms removed. Lost in thought over the idea that Nanon might reject him when she discovers he murdered her father, he absent-mindedly lights a cigarette with his feet. Cojo laughs at him, commenting that he's forgotten he has arms. Alonzo recoils at this, but in Chaney's performance, you can see the plan form (a slight widening of the eyes, a twitch at the mouth). A shift happens here: we move from a dialogue-heavy sequence to one where there are no intertitles at all. Alonzo continues to speak, giddy with realisation, but what he is saying is too horrifying for the intertitles. Cojo's expression turns to shock, and we do get an intertitle when he says "No, no, Alonzo! Not that! Never do that!", but the act itself cannot be spoken, or even written. In the very next scene, Alonzo and Cojo visit the surgeon, and once again there are no intertitles to describe the actual plan - the closest we get is a single ambiguous gesture Chaney makes at his left shoulder. You can sort of make out the words in the movement of his lips, but the audience never receives the confirmation of what has happened.
I find this fascinating. Usually, silent films don't have the luxury of holding anything back - they have to be repetitive and clear to the point of redundancy. Here, Browning has taken something shocking but admittedly rather mundane, and turned it into a taboo strong enough to abolish one of the tools normally at his disposal. The performances in these scenes, from Chaney, John George as Cojo and John St. Polis as the surgeon, are all so strong that it's easy to misremember the film as more explicit than it actually is. As a result, the film is far more subtle than a lot of Tod Browning's other collaborations with Chaney (ten in total), and probably the most restrained of all of Browning's horrors.
The Unknown is a genuine work of art, a film that moves from merely using its elements to portray a story to using its elements to enhance the story. I don't think it's quite like anything else from the silent era. Is it stagey and melodramatic? Yes, but those aren't bad things, and I'd argue they're necessary to make the film's more subtle elements work. This is a film that's well worth seeing; a little Halloween treat that I'm really glad has been rediscovered.

Salvage Showcase: Isshiki Madarai
An attempt by yours truly in trying to be active once again here! And what better way than by talking about the characters in Danganronpa that don’t get as much love from the fandom, mostly due to appearing in media that weren’t officially translated or just aren’t that well known. I’ll be giving my analysis on their role in their respective material and my thoughts on them!
So whose up first?
Oh.
Summary
Well, let’s start with a brief explanation. Isshiki Madarai is from Danganronpa Zero and is the Ultimate Bodyguard and is a member of the Hope’s Peak Student Council. On-paper at least. In actuality, despite officially being on the council, no one considers him a true member, instead regulating him to just being a bodyguard. Something they’re painfully aware of.
‘They’re’? Yeah, Madarai is actually one of eight octuplets with the collective talent of ‘Multiple Birth Siblings’ (henceforth will be known as MBS because that full title can take a hike). They all act under the ‘Isshiki Madarai’ name and are reoccurring antagonists for the events of Zero. Their main goal is to gain vengeance for the Student Council’s demise, with their intuition leading them to believe Ryoko had something to do with the incident and relentlessly hunting her. In the end, all eight end up being murdered by either Mukuro or Junko, with their deaths being covered up by the school as them being expelled.
Personality wise, the Madarai are all fairly similar to each other: merciless, stubborn, prideful, and ego’s easily wounded. They’re also detrimentally violent, which leads to their downfall on multiple occasions. Overall, they’re a clan that feels insulted over the Tragedy of Hope’s Peak and will stop at nothing to find the perpetrator of the incident. They also hold keen intuition and can be cautious, but they're opt to use brute force like torture or murder in order to get their way.
The Rundown
Now, the good I will say about the Madarai is how they fit in with Danganronpa Zero’s theme of identity. Or rather, lack of identity. Not to mention a theme of irrelevance (I’m not making of fun of them, being serious). As well as being contrasts to both Yuto Kamishiro and the Despair Sisters. The first thing that comes to mind is Madarai’s sibling gimmick, where eight individuals are acting as one person, effectively suppressing their own individuality for the sake of a lie for intimidation purposes.
However, in doing so they had also effectively stunted themselves. In exchange for uniformity, they had become utterly predictable to the point that Ryoko herself, a scared amnesiac, was able to knock one out after being exposed to their fighting style for long enough and Mukuro even chided that being the reason she can kick their asses so easily. In a series where Ultimates praised over their own unique individual talents, their choice to be the same effectively doomed them. This uniformity also goes against the Despair Sisters. While they may be twins, both are extremely different in terms of personality and skills - you can’t approach one like you do the other and trying for anything conventional against them is bound to get you hurt. They’re existence pretty much slaps the Madarai’s methods in the face and given their major feat of ENDING THE WORLD you have to admit their way worked best.
As for Yuto? In general, both of their desire was to figure out the truth to the Tragedy of Hope’s Peak, albeit for different motivations. For the Madarai it was for the sake of their own wounded pride and vengeance. For Yuto? A way to increase his own fame. While the Madarai’s methods are flashy and brutal, with the culprit in their sights given their intuition- its largely ineffective and doesn’t gain much in the way of practical information and only results in them being taken out knowing nothing useful. In Yuto’s case, befitting his nature as a spy (though not his personality), he gains credible evidence and extremely useful knowledge into stuff regarding details like Izuru Kamukura. However, he is physically weak, so when he gets in way too deep, he ends up killed for his efforts. It’s one of the case where, if both had known about the other’s intentions and opted to work together, they probably could have covered way more ground and be able to make up for the others weaknesses.
What’s interesting about both is how they relate to the identity theme of Zero - or the lack of it. Yuto is the Madarai’s polar opposite. Yuto design and purpose is to be fairly simple and forgettable, much to his chagrin. But its in this lack of identity where he finds strength to get things done and showcase his information gathering skills and become fairly close to the truth. In contrast, the Madarai’s design is supposed to stand out (for better or for worse) with his elaborate snake-like monster design and serves as a plot roadblock. Yet, his effects on the plot when you look back is rather paper thin. At best, their attempts are good for highlighting Ryoko’s competence and Mukuro’s power. At worst, which to me they hit that way often, they are aforementioned roadblocks. Any interaction one would want to see further or plot details you want to see developed end up getting derailed with their whole invincible shtick and their own story of revenge concerning the Council’s demise. They’re purposefully made to be intrusive in the story, yet its also on purpose that their storyline never successfully goes anywhere. It ties back into their secondary theme of ‘irrelevance’.
The Madarai, technically, would have been ‘16th student’ of the Student Council killing game, but weren’t there because Junko never considered them one. She wasn’t the only one to consider this. The Headmaster, Steering Committee, Soshun Murasame, hell not even themselves if Mishiki bitterly remembering it is to go by. No one considers them a true councilman beyond just being a guardian and they had no use in-story beyond that. Mukuro even points this out that she actually doesn’t want to fight the Madarai since it just creates more victims and it was better for the remaining Madarai to go away since the story had nothing to do with them (I’ll talk about DR0!Mukuro at a later date). To put it simply, they aren’t wanted in-story since they have no relevance to the bad guys’ plans and for, well Hope’s Peak aren’t really good guys, the administration side the Madarai’s worth as people aren’t considered beyond their talent. Once they failed no one even bats an eye at them. Even DR3 shows that, even in spite of that guardian role, no one in the Student Council bothered to alert the Madarai they received threatening messages or bring one along. It’s one of those things that retroactively gives the impression Madarai’s presence was quite the afterthought in-universe and adds a layer of a bitter tragedy to it. They stand out and have utility, but no one sees their potential and layers beyond that. Their gimmick would be interested in a more action oriented series, but in Danganronpa (a murder mystery fiction) brute strength takes a back seat for brainpower. And given DR’s nature, where Ultimates who excel in combat more than them exist (like the Ultimate Soldier) or excelling in intelligence, like the Despair Sisters the only thing awaiting a character like the Madarai is cruel defeat and to be swept under the rug just as fast.
Personal Thoughts
Now I’ll be blunt: I don’t like these guys. In fact I think they just might be my most hated Danganronpa characters of all time. Remember the whole ‘they’re intrustive’ bit I went into earlier? Yeah, them showing up again and again with the strategy of ‘we’ll beat you up until you fess up’ quickly wore thin. I know they’re supposed to be bitter hotheads and I know them acting the same is intentional, but God did it not make their antics bearable. “Yes, let’s threaten this guy’s life! Yes, let’s attack the principal’s daughter! Surely this won’t backfire on us, assuming we don’t die ourselves”. Ugh.
Side note: Also hate their designs. You want to make a snake like student? Sure designers go ahead! But you need to make sure they look decent.
Making them ridiculously buff isn’t making them decent!! It clashes with the motif and just makes them look jarring to look at it! You can have a character be strong, but this goes way overboard.
His concept art is a major improvement that I wish the other illustrations stick to.
This ends the first showcase, next time I post I’ll be going on about a character from the Danganronpa Kirigiri side of things!

I have a feeling you mention upper thoracic osteochondrosis because you've been staring at your phone too much. Our long texts probably make it worse ahah (and no, I totally did not have to look up what that is!) You shouldn't beat yourself up for the way you think… no one person is able to see everything nor consider every point of view at once. Only a machine could do such a thing, yet they lack the conciousness to apply their 'thinking' in a way that is meaningful. We will never be perfect, but as long as we acknowledge the things we don't know, and listen to the experiences of others, we can create a somewhat complete picture of our reality. Between my bioremediation studies, I've been learning about the concept of 'second-order thinking', or "hollistic thinking" as my mentor called it, to challenge my thoughts and make better decisions. As a nurse, are you into psychology at all? Your mechanic sounds like a fun person! What are they like, other than a menace? I now know of your intern Jimmy, but I'd love to hear more about your crew :) When you're on your way home, I'll make sure to set up a space for you to stay, get in your favourite food (what do you eat?), whatever you need… and I could show you around the lab! Eee, I hope you can make it :D
-xoxo, Pheobe
Dont worry, PE is the main culprit here, doing a real number on my active lifestyle, haha.
Psychology isn’t my focus professionally speaking, but I read it recreationally. I like the idea of second-order thinking as it lets you cast a wider net of understanding of consequences when you remember to exercise it… But the more you see the harder it becomes to act, doesn’t it? Like every, every decision you make has consequences, and the farther you try to think the more out of control it feels, even though your own decision-making is still at the core of it.
Anyway!
My crew is wonderful. I really wouldn’t trade any of them for the world. You know Jimmy, yeah, he’s actually my best mate of many years now — he was looking to give a try to something new, and I figured, why not an internship in space? You never know where inspiration is going to strike you, you know?
After him, our co-pilot Swansea is the one I’ve known the longest. I was a bit of a sad bugger when I first joined PE, and I guess he kind of took me under his wing because of it. In his own…distinctly grumpy way, like he was doing me a favour, but in all honesty he kind of was. He’s absolutely brilliant, so long as you don’t let the exterior fool you.
Couple years after I joined Swans’ team our captain retired, and that’s how we got Anya — Swansea was actually up for the promotion but I don’t think there’s anything he’d want less. The responsibility, you know? Anya is more than capable though, and takes it all very seriously. I think it’s hard for her sometimes, but we the crew always try to show her our support. She’s utterly magnificent, really. Very skilled at flying and always keeps a keen eye on the crew too, to make sure the morale is high.
And Daisuke the mechanic is our latest addition! He actually interned for Swansea back before I joined, and I guess Swans inspired him enough to go to trade school for mechanics, which is what he’s fresh out of for this haul. I can tell it’s a bit daunting for him to be on the spaceship again, but he’s doing great! Our ship is an old one and many little things go wrong every time, but he’s been keeping on top of them like a champ.
It’s exciting to imagine I’ll be going to Mars, I’ve never been! And to have its coolest scientist showing me around. :-) And please don’t worry about the food, I eat pretty much everything.
Stay safe,
—Curly

Warning: I'm going to let off some steam and talk about heavy topics and private stuff in here since I feel this is the only safe space I have left.
So I've been working on my fic for the akuroku BB event in the past few days. It's all very exciting, I love the plot I picked and I'm looking forward the main event. I don't feel like I'm great at community, especially when there are many people involved but I'm trying to focus on my work and keep my space safe.
However, it seems like I've hit a wall. Creatively and emotionally. My fic is going to lean heavily on the fluff side because it's what I'm comfortable with. I planned to insert a couple of smutty scenes because I feel they could be good for the fic and they can flesh out the narrative and character's development. All in all i feel very proud of my fic's plot.
Often, especially for longer projects, it happens that I can't write in a chronological, linear way and instead I start by focusing on a scene that could be in the middle or at the end of the fic. This time, I decided to start working on the smut first because I know I struggle a lot with those scenes. Today I spent all day, since 10am to 5 pm writing the scene. In seven hours of work, barely 800 words came out of it. My goal was 2k.
Now I know already that I struggle with writing in English since it's not my main language and that slows things down quite a bit. This however is a new low. I realized that the smut was the culprit. I have struggled all day trying to find the right emotional tone, the right words.
I've been reading a lot of explicit fics especially in the last twelve months. I used to write it and I have a couple of explicit fics in my collection from 2023. It's not been that long. Still, today was a disaster. I kept reading the text over and over and the more i looked at it, the more disgusted I started to feel as if everything was wrong: the tone, the words, the depth. I had a breakdown. I've been crying for an hour and my clinical depression hit again. To the point where now I feel completely useless, I'm mad that I wasted my time over something that I will probably delete and won't be putting in my fic. I'll probably be forced to remove the explicit content from my fic since I'm so terrible at it.
Again, I used to write explicit things without any concern. I've tried to understand why is it so difficult now. Might be because of a job that's mentally draining. But the great sense of disgust I feel, I fear it might stem from other reasons. Than it hit me, the reason why. Because I'm a neurodivergent aromantic.
The previous times I've written smut, there were no emotions involved. I just wrote pwp fics. Rhe emotional side wasn't important to explore for me. The characters were already in an established relationship. I didn't feel the need to explore their emotional connection.
With this fic is different. The characters are falling in love, they have strong emotions for each other. Emotions that I feel the need to highlight in writing.
And I started thinking about my life, about my lack of positive emotions growing up because of the bad situation I was born in. I don’t know positive emotions. In my 35 years, I've never fallen in love once. I've never experienced the nice feelings that most people usually go through. I've never experience parental affection or love growing up in that shitty place. For me, life has always been only hurt and sadness. I'm incapable of feeling anything else. My intimate experiences have never been linked to positive feelings. Everything has always been mechanical and nobody had ever sticked long enough to allow me to discover a different side of things.
Of course I can't write emotional intimacy. I can't write something I know nothing about. And I'm even incapable of faking it.
This is devastating for me and it's killing me inside even more. It's discouraging on a painful level. I'm doubting myself, my skills. Now I don't even know if I can keep going with this fic.
I feel helpless and hurt. I feel weird and out of place. I always knew I didn't belong in this world as a person. Now I feel like even my creativity has no place in it. Not if it's so void of emotions. So empty.
I feel like, no matter what, I'll always be just an empty shell. A ghost passing by, waiting for all the pain to end.

250221 Check In

D-2 OSCE UKMPPD
In all honesty, i dont feel good. My flu's not going away, my cramps are bad, the bloating is severe, and worst of all, i have zero motivation to do shits. The anhedonia, anenergia, and afek depresi is pretty checked out
The PMS has been going on real bad for these few months. I wanna be productive and not just rot in bed but i'm just rlly demotivated. Its a constant cycle of stressing for the things to be done and not getting things done cause you're stressed.
I wanna go to the gym for the anxiety but even that is stressfull cause i usually do 2 hours, and that takes too much time that can be used to study.
I just hope that this can get resolved before the osce. I hope i get my period soon. The pms def is the main culprit to this and i just wanna feel better.
(5:45pm edit)-----------------
I feel better after writing everything down on a plan. Still feels bloated and shitier than usual tho. After some thoughts and considering my eclectic interests + lack of management skills, idont think my main dumps will be on notion. I think (?) my immediate dumps will be on goodnotes, rants and main accountabilities will be on tumblr, while notion might be used for long term wikis and more intricate plannings. Might make adjustments overtime. We’ll see. (10:48pm edit) -------------- I took my meds. Lets do reviews then sleep

Danganronpa 2 Suspect Analysis - 2nd Murder Case
Link to my Suspect Analysis on the 1st Murder case
Link to my Suspect Analysis on the 3rd Murder case
Again, I'm playing this game blindiy so NO SPOILERS please!
I want to archive the theories I had for each murder case in this game and to show whether or not I was right in the end. I'm doing this for fun, plus I love archiving my notes and looking back on them. 💖
I had just finished my 2nd class trial, so I am going to lay out my initial theories BEFORE the Investigation Period, and also AFTER the Investigation Period.
I'm going to put this all under the cut so that I won't spoil anyone who hasn't played the game yet. So without, further ado...
Time to put my detective skills to the test! 🕵️🥞
**SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT**
Mahiru’s Murder case
My theory BEFORE the Investigation Period started:
To me, the main suspects on Mahiru’s murder were:
Hiyoko Saionji
Fuyuhiro Kuzuryu
Akane Owari
Ibuki Mioda
Nagito Komaeda
Hiyoko Saionji
Before Mahiru’s dead body was discovered, Hiyoko was seen running from the beach and crying. She likely must have caused the footprints from the front locked door of the beach house. She also must have seen Mahiru’s corpse which caused her to cry.
She was the last person to be where Mahiru was before the dead body was discovered.
What I find strange is that when Hiyoko ran from the beach, Monokuma didn’t make any “a body has been found!” announcement. It was only until Kazuichi saw Mahiru’s corpse that the announcement was made.
The Twilight Syndrome video game is based on a “real life” event that happened in-game. Maybe what happened in that game has something to do with Mahiru’s past. As the Ultimate Photographer, Mahiru probably represented the girl who took photos of a school murder in the Twilight Syndrome video game, but when her pictures got ripped she got really mad and murdered the girl who ripped her photos. Maybe what happened between Mahiru and Hiyoko is related to this. Either she attempted to kill Hiyoko but failed, or she asked Hiyoko to kill her (Due to Mahiru’s guilt of having killed someone in her past).
The idea of Mahiru attempting to kill Hiyoko must of came from Nagito.
Conclusion:
Hiyoko is VERY LIKELY to be the culprit. Reason for kill: Either she was defending herself from Mahiru’s murder attempt OR Mahiru persuaded her to kill her.
-----------------------------
Fuyuhiro Kuzuryu
He arrived at the diner early and mysteriously left when everyone's talking. Who knew where he went before the dead body was discovered.
He was probably one of the people who played the Twilight Syndrome video game. The game mentioned “Five Down” after a game over, which probably indicated that 5 people have played this game including Hajime.
Even though he’s sus for that, it’s probably gonna be similar to the first murder case where his actions were very suspicious, but it turned out that he was just being a lone-wolf tsundere who secretly wanted to be friends with the group.
Conclusion:
Fuyuhiro is NOT likely to be the culprit but his suspicious actions still stand. Reason for kill: He wants to get off the damn island
-----------------------------
Akane Owari
She was covered in blood when she entered the diner before the dead body discovery happened. She claimed that she fought Nekomaru but was that really true? Was the blood on her, actually her own blood?
She is strong enough to land a very strong killing blow to Mahiru’s head with that baseball bat.
Conclusion:
Akane is likely to be the culprit but not as likely as Hiyoko.
Reason for kill: Hard to say. The lack of a proper motivation, can make her even less likely to be the culprit.
-----------------------------
Ibuki Mioda
She arrived at the diner early, but what made me sus her a bit is how she arrived at he murder scene by herself shortly after Kazuichi and Hajime, looking nervous for a second before she started foaming.
Conclusion:
Ibuki is likely to be the culprit but not as likely as Akane and Hiyoko.
Reason for kill: Probably to finally go home and progress her music career.
-----------------------------
Nagito Komaeda
He was tied up in the old building the entire time so he most likely isn’t the murderer
HOWEVER… he interacted with Mahiru days before the murder incident occurred. Mahiru told Hajime that she checked up on him but didn’t want to feed him the food herself.
Nagito is also aware somehow about the Midnight Syndrome game. Mahiru probably told him about it. Or he got that info from the yellow Monitor. Nagito probably said something to Mahiru that incited her to do a murder attempt on Hiyoko, resulting in Hiyoko becoming the murderer instead.
Just for Mahiru having contacted Nagito before, makes me believe that Nagito pulled the strings of this murder case somehow.
Conclusion:
Nagito is very likely to NOT be the culprit, but he did somehow pull the strings behind the scenes.
Reason for kill: To give the Ultimates a chance to overcome despair
-----------------------------
My thoughts AFTER the Investigation Period is over but BEFORE the Class Trial started:
Hiyoko Saionji
Ok Hiyoko is being very sus. Not only did she immediately try to leave when being questioned, more evidence indicates that she did something when Mahiru was in the beach house. Gummy bear in the closet probably indicates that she was hiding in the closet without Mahiru noticing and then struck her from behind. Also the mask looks very cutesy which would fit her style. Days before the murder incident, she favors Mahiru a lot, so during the murder investigation, why was she so suspicious instead of being sad and depressed about Mahiru’s death? I think she is VERY likely to be the culprit now.
Fuyuhiro Kuzuryu
Damn he really DOES have a motive to kill in this murder case this time, and it’s VERY personal. In Twilight Syndrome, the first girl who died in the music room had most likely represented Fuyuhiro’s sister. He regained some of his memories after receiving the prize, realizing that the girl who killed his sister did it to protect Mahiru. This probably made him want to target Mahiru out of revenge. He killed the girl who killed his sister before, so what’s stopping him from killing again? I think he is also VERY likely to be the culprit now but slightly less likely than Hiyoko. (Mostly because I’m still bothered by how there wasn’t a “dead body” announcement when Hiyoko ran from the murder scene) OR MAYBE…. he and Hiyoko teamed up to kill Mahiru, making them BOTH culprits.
Akane Owari
She wasn’t part of the cast in the Twilight Syndrome game so she is definitely not the culprit.
Ibuki Mioda
She was part of the cast in the Twilight Syndrome game but she didn't seem nervous when she was being questioned, so she’s likely to not be the culprit.
Nagito Komaeda
Monokuma did say that Monomi will prevent anyone from dying of illness or natural causes, so since Nagito wasn’t being fed for days (because Hajime didn’t feed him), Monomi helped him out instead and untied him. That makes logical sense. I ended up being right about how Nagito somehow pushed Mahiru to do something like playing the Twilight Syndrome game, so he is pulling the strings somewhat but he’s not likely to be the culprit.
Conclusion: I think Hiyoko or Fuyuhiro is the culprit but I'm leaning more towards Hiyoko.
-----------------------------
THE ANSWER: The culprit is Peko
Peko’s motive: She initially used “Justice” as a cover-up for her motive but it turned out that she did it because she is Fuyuhiko’s hitman, who killed Mahiru to avenge Fuyuhiko’s little sister and to help Fuyuhiko survive and leave the island after the Class Trial. HOWEVER Fuyuhiko didn’t really give his approval for the assassination, which meant that Peko killed Mahiru out of her own will.
My Thoughts:
HOLY SHITTTT! My intuition about Fuyuhiko and Peko is CORRECT?! 😱 I can't believe my theory on the 1st murder case ended up being correct on the 2nd murder case!
I DIDN'T SUSPECT PEKO AT ALL! If I had still clung on to my hitman theory, I would have guessed right! But ermehgerd that whole bit at the end between Fuyuhiko and Peko got me crying 😭😭😭 Fuyuhiko needs a hug 🫂
Also I feel like a clown about sussing Hiyoko because of the "dead body" announcement logic. I overlooked that one rule where the announcement can only be made if three or more people saw the dead body. 🤡
Lastly, this perfectly describes my reaction to the whole Murder Case (especially Peko's "Sparkling Justice" phase) 😭:

"Boost Your Cash Flow: How Outsourcing Medical Billing Can Speed Up Payments"
If you've ever found yourself waiting days (or weeks) for payments to roll in after treating patients, you're not alone. Cash flow is the lifeblood of any healthcare practice, and delays in payment can create unnecessary financial stress. Unfortunately, medical billing, with its complex claims, denials, and back-and-forth with insurance companies, is often at the heart of the problem.
But fear not—there's a solution that can streamline your billing process and help you improve cash flow without lifting a finger: outsourcing your medical billing!
In this blog, we’ll explore how outsourcing your medical billing to a professional service can significantly boost your practice's cash flow, making sure you’re paid faster and more efficiently.
1. Faster Claim Submissions = Faster Payments
One of the main reasons healthcare practices experience cash flow issues is because of slow claim submissions. When claims are submitted incorrectly or delayed due to paperwork issues, insurance companies might take weeks (or even months) to process them.
Outsourcing medical billing means faster claim submissions. Professional billing services are experts at submitting claims on time, with the correct codes, documentation, and information—reducing the chances of delays caused by errors or missed details. The quicker your claims are submitted, the quicker insurance companies will process them, leading to faster payments.
With a streamlined billing process, your cash flow improves, and you can rely on timely reimbursements to keep your practice running smoothly.
2. Fewer Denials and Rejections = More Money in Your Pocket
Claim denials are a major culprit when it comes to delayed payments. Whether it’s due to incorrect coding, missed documentation, or lack of prior authorization, denials mean that your practice has to spend time and effort reworking claims and resubmitting them. This not only delays payments but also ties up resources that could be better spent elsewhere.
When you outsource your billing to professionals, they’re skilled at minimizing denials. With their expertise in coding accuracy, documentation checks, and payer-specific rules, they know exactly how to get claims approved the first time around. This means fewer rejected claims, fewer resources spent on corrections, and more money flowing into your practice.
3. Better Follow-Up on Outstanding Claims = No More Forgotten Payments
Even after claims are submitted, there's still a chance that your practice will have to follow up with payers if payments aren’t processed promptly. Following up on outstanding claims can be time-consuming and can easily slip through the cracks when your in-house team is busy with other tasks.
Outsourcing your medical billing ensures dedicated follow-up on all claims. Billing experts keep track of every claim and ensure that insurance companies pay in a timely manner. If there are any issues, they handle the follow-up and ensure the claims are paid—so your practice won’t miss out on payments due to lack of attention. A professional billing service's persistent follow-up ensures your cash flow stays healthy and consistent.
4. Increased Revenue Capture = Maximizing Your Reimbursement Potential
When medical billing is handled internally, there’s always the risk of missing out on potential reimbursements due to mistakes or misunderstandings about coverage. Whether it's failing to submit certain charges or missing out on higher reimbursement rates, these errors can hurt your bottom line.
Outsourcing your billing to specialists ensures that every eligible service is captured and billed correctly. These professionals understand the reimbursement rates and nuances of your payers, so they can maximize your revenue capture. This means that no matter what services you provide, your practice will get paid what it deserves—leading to increased cash flow.
5. Avoiding Billing Bottlenecks = Smooth Revenue Cycle
When your in-house team is overloaded with administrative tasks, medical billing can become a bottleneck that slows down your entire revenue cycle. The longer it takes to process and submit claims, the longer it takes for payments to come in.
By outsourcing your billing, you create a seamless revenue cycle. The professionals handling your billing focus solely on the claim process, from submission to payment posting. This means the entire process flows more smoothly, payments are processed faster, and cash flow improves dramatically. With fewer delays in the billing cycle, your practice’s financial health gets a nice boost.
6. Predictable Revenue with Improved Financial Forecasting
When your billing process is inconsistent, it’s hard to predict when payments will come in and how much your practice will make. This can make budgeting and financial planning a headache.
Outsourcing medical billing provides a predictable revenue stream. Professional billing services have systems and reporting tools that allow them to track the progress of claims in real time. By knowing exactly where claims are in the process, you can better forecast your practice’s revenue and plan for the future. With predictable payments, you can plan for expenses, investments, and growth opportunities without the stress of unpredictable cash flow.
7. Lower Overhead Costs = More Money for Your Practice
Managing an in-house billing department isn’t just time-consuming—it’s also expensive. Between paying salaries, offering benefits, and covering training costs, maintaining an in-house team can significantly eat into your practice’s revenue.
Outsourcing medical billing allows you to lower your overhead costs. Instead of hiring and training additional staff to manage billing, you can rely on external billing experts who operate at a fraction of the cost. This allows you to save on salaries, reduce operational expenses, and improve your overall cash flow.
By shifting the responsibility to a billing partner, you also avoid the costs of hiring, training, and retaining staff—all while still getting top-notch billing services.
8. Focus on Growing Your Practice, Not Chasing Payments
When your billing is outsourced, your team can spend less time chasing unpaid claims and more time focusing on what they do best: growing your practice. Whether it’s bringing in new patients, improving patient care, or expanding your services, outsourcing medical billing takes the administrative load off your team’s shoulders.
As your practice grows, so does the complexity of managing cash flow. Outsourcing allows you to focus on strategic growth while professionals handle the billing side of things. With less time spent on payment issues, you can invest more energy into growing your practice and increasing revenue in the long term.
Conclusion: Outsourcing Medical Billing is the Key to Improving Cash Flow
Maintaining a steady cash flow is essential for any healthcare practice. When billing is handled inefficiently, payments are delayed, denials increase, and cash flow suffers. But by outsourcing medical billing to professionals, you can streamline your processes, maximize reimbursements, and ensure faster payments, all while reducing administrative burdens and costs.
With quicker claim submissions, fewer denials, and expert follow-ups, your practice can enjoy a healthy cash flow that allows you to focus on what matters most: delivering excellent patient care and growing your practice.
