Pile 1:
This new year will be your year of preparation, there's something huge coming into your life at some point but first you need to learn some new skills to get and keep the success you are looking for. Universe is giving you extra time to prepare what you really want to achieve, it's like a period for trying new things and tests what works best for you, especially in matters of career and money because you'll be very lucky in these areas. If you are thinking into opening your own bussiness and be an enterpreneour, this year will be a lucky year for you but the cards wants you to focus on burocracy and legal matters too, you'll have it easy but there are some things you'll need to learn before, like paying taxes on time or investing money wisely
Your areas of luck will be about starting projects and trying new things it's all about taking the lead without fearing risk, whenever you follow your inner compass you'll find yourself attracting more abundance than what you expected. You'll also be very lucky when it comes to gain wealth and what will play the most at your favor is your knowledge about burocracy or legal matters, not only for this year but the years ahead where you'll be managing big amounts of money.
This year will be filled by happiness and meaningful changes, sometimes change can be overwhelming but for you this feels like something you've been waiting for a long time, a desired transformation of your reality. You are the group that got more major arcana, so this 2024 will be an end of a cycle where your life will take a 180-degree turn, there's also this energy of getting out of your head so much and starting focusing on your present moment. With the empress and the magician cards, I see you'll feel a lot more grounded and, for what I'm feeling, this will help you attract money easilly, you'll be a literal money magnet this new year. These two cards are also indicators of a good year of prosperity with work and money, the empress also indicates a huge physical glow up and a boost in your confidence, you'll feel super empowered during the new year ahead :)
Pile 2:
This new year brings you balance and stability, you'll feel a lot more supported and certain about the path you are taking in life, things will feel more peaceful for you this new year. If you deal with anxiety or something of that sort that involves your mental health, I see a big relief over 2024, you'll be making a lot of progress in this area. The major word I channel is balance, on your outside circumstances but mostly when it comes to yourself and your inner wellbeing, I feel my heart rushing and a knot in my stomach that are slowling relieving, this year might also involve some kind of spiritual or emotional healing too. If you have difficulties dealing with stressful situations this year will also bring you clarity to discern what's best for you and where to invest your precious energy.
You'll be lucky when it comes to find new ways to develop your passion or how you share it with the world, you'll be very lucky if you use some kind of social media or technologies to promote it too, especially if you are an artist. Your intuition will be improving too, if you follow it you'll find sucess at the end of the road, your guides will also be taking relevance in your life. Btw, blue will be your lucky color during the year
This new year will end up some conflicts you were dealing with, the feeling that you needed to constantly fight will dissipate in a very natural way, it will happen progressively in a time where you'll feel like you can finally sit and relax, you might feel extra tired sometimes but it will be because your nervous system will get out of survival mode. You end up a karmic cycle of your life that will allow you to focus on your finances and being productive at work because you got the ace and the 8 of pentacles right after the card of the world, so working and seeing progress will be a major theme of your year ahead, if you are into handcraft of some sort you can get extra income with it. You'll be also getting out of your comfort zone more often to find beautiful things outside of what's known to you, this will be a year of adventures that you'll live with peace in your heart.
Pile 3:
There's an improvement on your energy levels and your home life, you'll feel a lot more healthy and vital during the new year, I don't usually talk about health in any of my readings but your pile deserves it because your body is regenerating positively somehow, whatever you are doing to take care of it just know it's working and will give you proofs of it this new year. There's also a major message about your home life and how it will be taking a more important role in your life, maybe it's something as simple as to be able to decorate it the way you like or it's something more relevant like making a renovation of pipes or fixing leaks, whatever it is, it's something you've been wishing for a long time, It could also be that you'll finally be moving to the house of your dreams.
Your lucky areas talk about health again with virgo in the dices, I see trying to have healthier habits will help you in this aspect of your wellbeing, maybe create a healthier routine or something that sort (it will be different for each of you reading this), always do what's most aligned with yourself. You also got pluto and the third house so this year will be good for you to transform yourself, maybe stepping out of what's known for you and try new practices, it could also be that you are re-learning some things after an important spiritual awakening. For a little amount of you this could mean taking a different approach when it comes to your physical health and needs.
Uhhh things got interesting with your tarot cards! There's a lot of love entering your life my dear :), you got so many beautiful cards that I had to take a minute to channel and summarize all the info. After a period of healing and purification all your dreams will start to come true, the healing process might seem too intense because you'll be getting a lot of channelings in a short period of time but suddently everything will start happening for you, it will happen in the most unexpected way at the mostt unexpected time, you won't see all the happiness coming, even if you receive signs you won't be paying that much attention. You got the star, 10 of cups, ace of cups and the empress, if this is not an omen of your true love entering your life I don't know what it is lol, maybe the message about the home means that you finally meet the person you are going to create a home with because you got the king and knight of pentacles at the bottom of the deck so this person is arriving with commitment, peace and stability. Congratulations my dear, you'll be discovering love in many different aspects of your life during this new year.
Pile 4:
Your major blessing is some kind of dharma, it's something that will make you gain hope in Universe's protection over you, this will come through other people that will communicate things to you that will feel like an eureka moment where everything starts to make sense. Honestly, this feels like making amends with the past, do you know when you see the bully of your high school after 10 years and all the rage dissapears because that person is having a nightmare of a life?, it's not about being happy about other people's suffering, it is more the feeling of there's someone up there watching everything we do and no one leaves without paying their karma.
Your area of luck is about the people that will enter your life, I see you reuniting with your soul tribe this year and finding lovely people that will treat you with the love, respect and admiration you deserve. If you are someone that has dealt with the worst aspect of human nature, this year will be a proof from Universe of all the good traits humans have, it's like Universe wants to compensate you for the battles you have gone through in the past, you'll find your place and your people in this world.
With the tarot cards I'm seeing that you'll be meeting the most lighthearted and positive aspect of life, there's happiness, support and love entering your life to stay. You'll be moving on from a lot of mental patterns that were holding you back, it's like you have learnt the theory and you are finally dealing with the practice that you thought it would be supper difficult and challenging and will ressult into being the most easy and peacefull process ever, like you don't even have to make any effort because everything will be moving at your same pace, like Universe is adapting to you. Between all the new positive people entering your life, there are a lot of chances to find a romantic soulmate there, because of the cards you got I see an unblock in your heart chakra that will unblock your love life too, especially for those that have been single for a while. At the bottom of the deck you got the 6 of swords and the wheel of fortune so this new year will be a shift in your luck to the positive aspects of life, you'll also be feeling more hopeful and optimistic.
Pile 5
Your pile is the only one that has one extra oracle card and it's because that card wanted to fly and land on the opposite side of the room, not to give you spoilers but it was the card of romance. This new year will bring you a lot of different blessings, I see 3 major ones at least, romace is very prominent through all your spread so this year you will meet your true love and will start your life together as a couple. Another blessing I see here is some sort of independence (it will be different for each of you so take only what resonates), it can be moving alone to a new place, working by yourself or releasing emotional attachments, whatever independence means to you is what you'll be getting this new year. I also see admiration from people when they look up to you, you'll be receiving adoration from others, like getting a fan club or something like that, it feels like people being devoted to you, so you might get viral or achieve some level of fame throught the new year
Your lucky areas will be taking care of yourself and your beauty on the inside and the outside, if you've been thinking about changing your style, this year will be very favorable for you in this aspect, also for beauty treatments or anything related to your image and appearance. Another lucky area will be your drive and inner power, you can rely on this aspects whenever you need a boost of confidence, remind yourself your talents and keep moving, you are your most powerful lucky charm <3
Ohhh Divine counterparts energy here in your tarot cards, the hierophant and the high priestess and the king and queen of cups, so you'll be finding a person so in tune with you that it gives me goosebumps all over my spine, you'll understand what a twin flame connection is after this person enters your life, btw, it's someone completely new, no one from the past. Your overall message about this new year is success and moving on from what no longer serves you, this new year you'll be aligning with your happiest and most successful version and honestly, I feel like you won't have to do that much because Universe is pampering you during the whole year
Pile 6
Your oracle card's literal is happiness, so honey, happy days are here again for you, I see even see you crying of joy a few times during the year. You are my spiritual pile and my dear, this year you'll be having magical moments with your spirituality, you'll see miracles happening in front of you, I'm literally hearing 'a glitch in the matrix' so you'll be seeing and undestanding Universe in such a deeper level. You'll be nourishing your soul during this new year, you'll be more in tune with your inner child and you'll be focused into what's best for you and your happiness, life will also be very gentle with you.
Your lucky areas have something to do with your soul mission, especially if you are the kind of person that loves helping others and would like to dedicate your life into a major service for people. It's something related to healing, it can be your own or this might be more related of a soul mission that involves helping others, whatever it be, you'll be receiving rewards because of this so don'tdoubt to help those who need it. Another lucky area will be the people that will enter your life, you'll have an amazing support system in the people you will know this year.
You'll be knowing a soul mate this year! You got 2 and 10 of cups and a lot of major arcana, so I see a major connection with a romantic soulmate but also there are a lot of soul mates that will enter your life to align you with your soul mission, every person will come with a lot of knowledge that will make you feel fullfiled on a soul level. There's also a shift in your luck but it will be mostly driven by your own mentality, you'll feel stronger and more confident in whatever your passions are, you'll be also having some sort of realization about what you want to do with your life and will plan how to make it true, Universe will be favoring you in this aspect.

sam & max hcs
title
this is specifically for sam & also max bc im most confident w my interpretations of them but once i play & finish tdp i'll make a post for every single other character .
quick disclaimer that this is for my sorta-AU thing where i make sense of the games and cartoon and comics by saying that each was an autobiographical (or just biographical) piece of media that they signed their rights away to. the comics were more or less exactly what happened, the cartoon was scripted half the time (with the bad day on the moon episode actively having been staged) and the games are more or less 1:1 to what happened except for the occassional references to them being. games.
also this isnt a totally exhaustive list
Tumblr media
sammy
canon to get it outta the way: he's black, bisexual, autistic and might be trans & objectum (i hc him to definitely be the last two lmao) . i hc he has Narcissistic Traits tee em and also might have OCD
he started developing arthritis in his 20's, which was made only worse by his horrible posture due to his career path of Massive Fucking Nerd. though he fixed his back posture-wise by the time he formed the freelance police, he still is in a lot of pain near constantly.
even when he makes jokes, he wants to be taken seriously at all times. he wants you to laugh at his cleverness, not at the fact that you find him inherently funny. he tends to take this a bit far sometimes, which is part of one of the many reasons as to why he treated max so terribly in the early telltale games
since he was a pup he's tried to hide the fact he's bisexual, even if he's completely normal abt max being out as gay and doesn't see an issue with it in any sense of the term
he really wanted to be an engineer for years, but the intense sexism of the field, a desire to stick around with max, and the fact that other jobs would pay him better lead him to abandon the thought
though he wouldn't mind having children, he doesn't actively want them as much as max does. this doesn't mean he dislikes children at all, though - he actually likes them more than max does, at least conceptually
not too long after the cartoon's release, he lost contact with most of his family, excluding ruth. this was fully intentional on his part: max's refusal to talk to his family except at gatherings he stole food and drugs from inspired him to take more control of his life and contact with people he's related to
he sort of wants to grow his hair out again, but isn't sure what style to get... (i like drawing him w afros though)
completely opposite to max's feelings, sam feels a strictly familial or platonic attraction to lumpy. and platonic being based offa that plato fun fact is very very definitely relevant here i think (im sorry)
if he went with any other job, it'd have to be letterist, full stop. he has several styles of handwriting and they're all gorgeous
he's a super sweet, incredibly silly drunk, and lets himself relax and show more of his dog mannerisms when drunk enough (thank you celebrity poker 2 i love you)
Tumblr media
maxamillion
canonically a narcissistic psychopath who might have schizophrenia. its ok i can reclaim him<333 (no i cant but my partner can) he also has a horrible family life but his family stuck together out of mutual hatred and a desire to reap society's rewards for the nuclear standard
this horrible shithead has prolly claimed to have every physical disability at some point but he's only been diagnosed w/ hypermobile joint disorder / ehler-dahlos
in the more modern time of 2024, he usually sticks to only mocking people for things that are a. traits he shares with them or b. actually disturbing, inhumane or generally Yucky
he's wanted kids for years, which is why he's constantly not-so-subtly mentioning it.
he's a deeply unprofessional drag queen AND drag king and loves playing around with both sides of the coin. he also does drag creature stuff but that's just how he normally looks so!
thanks to the autism and schizophrenia he's very touch averse. the only people he really wants touching him are sam (and sometimes, maybe, rarely, flint paper)
to say that he doesn't have any familial affection for lumpy is understating it. he uses lumpy as his personal (and fully consenting) stimtoy whenever he feels like it, regardless of where or who might see 'em.
he sometimes pretends he's still president to make people do stuff for him. this only works on sam though
though he's physically capable of handwriting so gorgeous it rivals sam, he saves that for the disgustingly cheesy, 'anonymous' love letters he sends him every year or seven
he's a mainer. a mainiac if ya will. grew up closer to the south and he's got some relatives from mass so he's got that masshole/bostoner accent. he's usually good at hiding his accent, but it's obvious when you ask him to say shit like "clam chowder" and "lobster" and "fish"
though he hates most country music, he still loves johnny cash
HES A SYSTEM BTW!!!!
Tumblr media
botha them
they invented paralell play. sam w his computers and his papers and max with his drawing and stabbing the desk until it looks like a modern art piece
they're both extremely jealous of other people, but somehow have both missed that. sam's worried he's too jealous and overprotective, while max thinks he could stand to be a little more obsessive
one of their favorite things to do together is go to the comic book store and laugh at how horrible their childhood favorite comics have gotten (or always were)
every wedding shown is canon in some way, but around the telltale games sam started thinking they were just 'ironic' and 'a joke' and etc. despite the EXTREMELY high budget each had. he knows better now
max's whole "not making fun of anyone unless they're enough like him (or suck)" actually extends to sam as well. he's more than fine with making fun of someone bc they're fat or whatever despite the fact he clearly isn't. this is MOSTLY because he keeps forgetting he and sam don't share every single experience.
though sam is against drinking as a whole, the two sometimes go out to horribly shitty bars to get the worst in junk food & beer. every time they do, max happily proclaims that it was the best date EVER.
max almost likes sam's singing, sometimes, but this is usually only because he just really likes sam's voice
neither of them know how to use modern technology. when one finds out a single way a single program or feature works, they excitedly show the other like they just found the missing link between humans and neanderthals or whatever
sam helps with max's injections since max really seriously can't handle needles. it's the worst for the both of them, but the treats and snacks and ten-hour-long movie binges after help with the fear
generally speaking, max can get up and out of bed any time from around 6 to 13. sam gets up at 6:30 or 7:45 exactly every day, which means he usually makes breakfast if he feels up to cooking.
other than the aforementioned horrible bars, they have a lot of 'weird' date locations, like the dog park, the local sewer system, hell, etc.

Hi!!! So, this is going to be a weird (and probably invasive) question to ask a stranger on the internet but. um.
So I saw your add-on to the post about historical remedies and such and it FASCINATED me. The cross between historical and scientific study was just... so cool!
And I'm in High school, right now, and I'm still trying to decide what I want to major in. So I wanted to ask--
What major did you write that thesis for? How did you get into that major (like, what kind of credits/ background/grades did you need to get accepted)?
And-- this one you don't have to answer at all, bc I don't want to pressure you into doxxing yourself or anything, but-- What college/colleges did you go to/ consider going to that had good programs for said major? (I live in America, if that helps?)
Sorry for the random (and a lil' aggressive) questioning on major details of your life is uncalled for-- which it probably is. I just!!! Your research was really cool and it felt like something I'd want to consider pursuing!!!
TY for your time <3
No worries! None of those questions are what I would consider really invasive, and I don't mind talking about the basics.
That thesis was one that I wrote for my Master's degree. My major in undergrad was history—no specific area of history because it wasn't an option at my school—just history. While there were some classes I was required to take, whenever I was able to choose my own classes, I took classes that dealt with medieval history, which was something that interested me. Most of my large writing projects in undergrad I wrote on medieval topics. My uni didn't even have that many of those classes, but I basically found ways to work those subjects into my work anyway lol. In topics as broad as history, you have to carve out your own space.
I graduated with good grades and went straight into graduate school. I'm not sure I would recommend going straight into grad school after undergrad, but I knew myself and knew that if I didn't do it right away, I would not go back.
At the graduate level, no matter where you go, if you study history you will pick an area/region of history to study in depth. I chose medieval history, and within that carved out an unofficial specialization on early medieval British history. My advisor wasn't even an expert in that topic, but she was supportive, and connected me with other academics who knew more about it. I was a bit of an oddity in the department because I was one of the few students who was getting only a masters degree, rather than going for a PhD. The only reason I did this was because I was also studying for another degree which was more relevant for my desired career path; I chose to study history as in addition for the broadened experience and also because it really interested me.
Now, I know you're in high school still and this kind of decision is a long ways off, but for the sake of my on conscience I am going to pause here to say that you should not get a masters in history unless you are either going on for a PhD and are committed to a career in academia, or if you have another solid career path open to you (like having another degree or other experience). Studying history can give you a lot of great skills and experience and insight that will make you compatible for a lot of jobs, however, if you already have a bachelors, a masters degree in something like history will generally not increase your marketability, and can be very expensive. Alright, you didn't ask for career advice, but I couldn't not say it.
But yeah! As far as prerequisites and such, it's a fairly straightforward matter of keeping up your grades, which may sound kinda lame. The harder and more vital part of pursuing the research you want is to define your goals, communicate those with your professors, and foster relationships with professors who can help connect you with opportunities to present your research and meet others in the field. If you have the chance to present at an undergrad conference, do it. If your professor has office hours, talk to them not only about the current assignments, but about the kinds of things you're interested in. By the time you're a senior in college, having positive relationships with one or more professors will help you find connections beyond college.
This has turned into career advice, I'm sorry if that's not what you were after! I hope that helps.

hello Kat. Nice to see you on my dash again! <33 Gotta be honest, I'm feeling very low today because I love making art and would adore to do it for a living... but I have hobbyist skills and very little experience. I feel like I have learnt nothing relevant by my mid-twenties and get disheartened when I see young artists already way better than me and people not much older who are already well established in the fields I'm interested in. It seems SO overwhelming to think about this stuff and the best route to take, I don't know where to start. The world is so hostile to people doing creative work, it's all so competitive, I'm scared I would burn out and ruin my chances of a stable income in a "safe" career path. Also I don't want to bother my family and friends because I feel bad to come to them being so insecure and also kind of self-absorbed??? It seems silly to still be seriously thinking about this kind of thing in my mid-twenties. But here we are :'''') I think the new year always makes me think about my dreams but also idk if I should try and be more realistic
While I totally get the desire to make a living out of your passion, you need to internalize that you do not have to "make a living" from art to be a valid artist or for your art to matter and touch people and be an important addition to this world. I spend hours most days maintaining this blog and I have never made any money from it. That doesn't mean it doesn't matter. That doesn't mean what I'm doing here is worthless. And even if you have to make some money doing something else at least for a while, you can still make art. And your art can still touch people. A passion doesn't have to become a career to be valid and worthy of your time and efforts.

Seek and Find: The Journey of Discovery
In a world overflowing with information and distractions, the act of seeking and finding has taken on new dimensions. Whether in our personal lives, careers, or the pursuit of knowledge, the journey of exploration remains vital. But what does it mean to truly seek and find? Let’s delve into the significance of this age-old concept and its relevance in today’s fast-paced society.
Tumblr media
The Essence of Seeking
At its core, seeking is about curiosity and desire. It represents a yearning for knowledge, understanding, and connection. This quest can manifest in various ways—through academic pursuits, spiritual exploration, or even in our relationships. The process of seeking often begins with questions. What do I want to know? What experiences will enrich my life? These inquiries drive us to explore the world around us.
In our digital age, seeking can also mean sifting through vast amounts of information. We have access to an unprecedented wealth of resources, yet the challenge lies in discernment. The ability to ask the right questions and navigate through noise is crucial. True seeking goes beyond mere consumption; it involves critical thinking and a desire to engage deeply with the material.
Finding: The Rewards of Discovery
Finding, on the other hand, is the reward for our efforts in seeking. It’s the moment when understanding crystallizes, and clarity emerges. This could be a breakthrough in a research project, a moment of insight in personal development, or the rekindling of a lost connection with a friend. Finding brings with it a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.
However, finding is not always a straightforward process. Often, the journey involves setbacks and unexpected turns. Sometimes, what we find may not align with our initial expectations. This is where resilience comes into play. Embracing the uncertainty of the journey allows for deeper learning and personal growth.
The Synergy of Seeking and Finding
The interplay between seeking and finding is essential. Each journey of discovery builds upon previous experiences, shaping our perspectives and guiding future inquiries. The lessons learned through seeking equip us to better recognize valuable findings, while the discoveries we make can fuel our desire to seek even further.
In relationships, for instance, seeking to understand another person can lead to meaningful connections. The findings—shared experiences, mutual respect, and empathy—further deepen those bonds. Conversely, the insights gained from these relationships can inspire new avenues of exploration.
Practical Tips for Seeking and Finding
Cultivate Curiosity: Adopt a mindset of curiosity. Ask questions, challenge assumptions, and remain open to new experiences.
Limit Distractions: In our hyper-connected world, it’s easy to be overwhelmed. Set aside dedicated time for focused exploration, whether through reading, meditating, or engaging in meaningful conversations.
Reflect on Discoveries: After finding something significant, take the time to reflect. What does it mean? How can it be applied in your life? Reflection solidifies learning and informs future seeking.
Embrace Failure: Understand that not all seeking will lead to desired findings. Embrace setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning. Each failure can guide you toward more fruitful paths.
Connect with Others: Share your seeking journey with friends or mentors. Collaborative exploration can lead to richer findings and new insights.
Conclusion: The Lifelong Journey
The process of seeking and finding is a lifelong journey that enriches our existence. It fuels our passions, sharpens our intellect, and deepens our relationships. In a time when information is abundant yet clarity is scarce, embracing this journey is more important than ever. By remaining curious, resilient, and open to discovery, we can navigate the complexities of life and uncover the treasures that lie within our reach. So, go forth—seek, find, and let your discoveries illuminate your path. Read More

The First Thing You Need to Turn Your Desires into Reality
Tumblr media
Where we'll dive into the journey of turning your desires into reality. We're excited to embark on this discussion with you and explore the essential elements that can help you achieve your dreams and aspirations.
Tumblr media
Turning desires into reality is a topic that holds significant importance in the realm of personal growth and achievement. It's about transforming the things you yearn for into tangible outcomes, creating a life that reflects your deepest aspirations. We believe that understanding the process of manifesting desires is crucial for anyone striving for a fulfilling and purpose-driven existence.
Understanding Your Desires
Before delving into the nitty-gritty of turning desires into reality, it's important to understand the significance of your desires. Our desires are the driving force behind our actions, motivations, and aspirations. They provide us with a sense of purpose and fuel our determination to strive for something greater. Think about the things that truly resonate with your heart and soul. Is it a career change, a passion project, or personal growth and development? Understanding these desires is the first step towards making them a reality. When you can clearly identify and articulate what you truly desire, you pave the way for focused and intentional action. Let's take a moment to reflect on this together. Consider a time when you felt a deep, burning desire for something. Maybe it was the longing for a meaningful relationship, a career breakthrough, or a personal achievement. By connecting with your own experiences, you can appreciate the power of desires in shaping your life's trajectory.
Setting Clear Goals
Once you've gained insight into your desires, the next crucial step is to set clear and achievable goals. Goals serve as the roadmap that transforms desires from abstract concepts into actionable steps. They provide direction, purpose, and a sense of progress as you move toward realizing your aspirations. When setting goals, it's beneficial to adopt the SMART criteria: specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. By defining your goals according to these parameters, you create a framework that is both practical and effective. For example, instead of setting a vague goal like "I want to be successful," you could establish a specific and measurable goal such as "I aim to increase my monthly sales by 20% within the next six months." By incorporating the SMART criteria into your goal-setting process, you can infuse clarity and precision into your actions. This approach not only enhances your ability to track progress but also empowers you to make strategic adjustments along the way.
Overcoming Obstacles
As you embark on the journey of turning desires into reality, it's essential to recognize and address the potential obstacles that may arise. Common hurdles such as self-doubt, fear of failure, and external challenges can impede your progress and test your resilience. It's important to approach these obstacles with a sense of preparedness and determination. Remember that facing challenges is an inherent part of any worthwhile pursuit. By acknowledging these obstacles and developing effective coping strategies, you can navigate through them with greater ease. One of the most powerful approaches to overcoming obstacles is to cultivate resilience. Resilience enables you to bounce back from setbacks, adapt to changing circumstances, and persevere in the face of adversity. Embracing resilience means acknowledging that setbacks are not permanent roadblocks but temporary detours on the path to success.
Taking Action
Turning desires into reality requires more than just wishful thinking; it demands consistent and purposeful action. Taking action is the catalyst that propels your desires from the realm of possibility into the realm of actuality. It's about translating your aspirations into deliberate steps that inch you closer to your goals. One effective strategy for taking action is to break down larger goals into smaller, manageable steps. This approach not only makes the process less daunting but also allows you to track incremental progress. By celebrating the completion of each small step, you can maintain momentum and motivation throughout your journey. Consider the analogy of building a house. You wouldn't expect the entire structure to materialize overnight. Instead, it's constructed brick by brick, with each brick representing a significant yet manageable component of the larger goal. Similarly, by approaching your desires with a step-by-step mindset, you can lay a solid foundation for their realization.
Maintaining Positivity
Amidst the pursuit of your desires, maintaining a positive mindset is a vital ingredient for success. Positivity serves as the fuel that sustains your motivation, resilience, and overall well-being. It allows you to approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset and navigate through adversity with grace and optimism. Cultivating positivity involves nurturing a mindset that is rooted in gratitude, optimism, and self-belief. It's about recognizing the abundance in your life, focusing on possibilities rather than limitations, and affirming your inherent capability to overcome obstacles. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, it can be incredibly empowering to draw inspiration from uplifting quotes, affirmations, or personal mantras. These nuggets of wisdom serve as beacons of light, guiding you through moments of darkness and reinforcing your belief in the journey of turning desires into reality.
Celebrating Achievements
As you progress on the path of manifesting your desires, it's important to celebrate your achievements along the way. Celebrations serve as powerful markers of progress and reinforce the positive momentum you've generated. They also provide an opportunity to acknowledge your efforts and honor the dedication you've invested in pursuing your desires. Celebrating achievements doesn't always have to entail grand gestures. It can be as simple as treating yourself to a small indulgence, sharing your success with loved ones, or taking a moment to reflect on how far you've come. By integrating celebrations into your journey, you infuse joy and gratitude into the process of realizing your desires.
To sum up
The journey of turning desires into reality is a transformative and empowering endeavor. By understanding your desires, setting clear goals, overcoming obstacles, taking consistent action, maintaining positivity, and celebrating achievements, you can navigate this journey with confidence and purpose. We hope that this blog post has provided you with valuable insights and practical guidance on harnessing the power of your desires. Remember, the first step towards turning your desires into reality begins with a deep understanding of what truly ignites your passion and purpose. As you continue on your journey, embrace each step with determination, resilience, and an unwavering belief in your ability to bring your desires to fruition. Your dreams are within reach, and with dedication and self-belief, you can turn them into a vibrant reality that enriches your life and the lives of those around you. Mastering Me!!
Where do I begin? I want to start by saying Professor Jenkins is the goat!! I have enjoyed learning to be an artist manager while launching a product effectively. This month has been very transformative as I continue my journey with the Entertainment Business Master’s degree. Taking an introspective look into the entertainment industry has been challenging and very satisfying. As I take the time to reflect on this course, I feel both overwhelmed and relieved. I sense growth!
This course introduced me to the many multifaceted compartments that align in the world of artist management. Presented with many scenarios and issues that a manager would face, I got a realistic scope of what it would be as I continue to grow my brand. It is now apparent that to be an effective artist manager, I must have more than passion; I must have the keen mindset of a businessman able to navigate through the many complexities presented in the field. This month, I was challenged to learn how to balance the personal desires and creative wants of any artist I manage based on the demands within the industry. There is a thin line between market viability and artistic integrity.  I was challenged through scenarios to identify the proper way to respond to managers or artists who feel they are too old even to be relevant. This caused me to be compassionate and learn to identify the artist's values that can meet at the point of compromise.  I found that it is best to be who the artist needs, be stern, and still effective through understanding, not rage.
An enlightening portion was when we took a deep dive into the product. I had to think outside the box because when you think of products, you automatically think of shirts, mugs, and hats. This challenged me to think of items that would be more valuable to an artist’s fan base. It was an eye-opener. I learned you are also responsible for the entire being when managing an artist. They are the product, and their merch, music, collabs, etc., are the microcosm they evolve around. To be effective, one must take a holistic approach because all decisions made in the product management clauses will significantly impact the artist's career.
Though I faced many personal challenges during this journey, my dedication to my overall goal and my artist didn’t waiver. I can see how intense this industry is, and the need to be the best cutting-edge individual who stands out amongst a crowd of duplicates is pressing. Being the best manager requires me to be relentless and innovative, always ahead of the curve. I believe I am up for the challenge. I have a burning passion for seeing my artist succeed. The commitment to see all of my artists successful is a passion that needs no fan to its flame. I remind myself each day why I decided to choose this career path. I desire to champion my artist and assist them in realizing their dreams are possible, alive and breathing. This month, for me, is the evidence of steadfast perseverance. I have found that a comprehensive understanding of product and artist management is essential for establishing your niche. As I continue to enroll in this program of study, I will hold the lessons learned as a blueprint for success. This month proved that despite opposition, I am more than a conquer and will overcome every obstacle in this ever-changing world- the entertainment industry.

Subject review
The transition to professional practice subject was one that I found extremely valuable and am glad to have completed. This subject did a great job of really attacking career development and employability skills head on. I feel as though I learned a lot from this course that I did not know beforehand as a result of my limited amount of experiences with job applications, interviews and resumes.
I feel as though the most valuable aspect of this subject for me was learning the skill of identifying my personal attributes and skill set. I am usually an unassuming person and have never put a lot of time into recognising my strengths and my positive attributes. This subject forced me out of my comfort zone and forced me to analyse myself in a positive way, rather than merely identifying flaws.
I also found the structure of the subject to be advantageous, as my attention was not divided between subjects as it would be in a normal semester. This allowed me to really focus on the work I needed to be doing, and the improvements I needed to be making to my documents and image, long after classes had finished for the week.
Through this subject I drastically improved my resume, created a cover letter, honed my interview skills and began to establish a professional online presence. These skills will help me not only in securing an internship position, but also in my career in future, as I will most likely go through the application and interview process numerous times throughout my life.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also achieved one of the goals that I set out at the start of the subject which was to submit every assignment on time. This is something I've struggled mightily with throughout my time at Holmesglen, particularly with ongoing assignments like this one.
While I still have a long way to go as far as my time management and organisational skills are concerned, I feel like this was a positive step in the right direction for the upcoming semester. I am happy that I was able to start my final year on an organised note and am more confident that I will be able to translate it to a full subject workload in the coming months.
Transition to Professional Practice also allowed me to gain more clarity as to my strengths and weaknesses on my CV documents. Through analysing my current situation, I am focusing on trying to find more ways to put myself out there, which is not natural for me. Specifically, I am aiming to gain more experience that is relevant to my desired career path, and showcase my passion for sport and the sports media industry. The third year internship is one way that I can achieve this and I am looking forward to eagerly applying myself in any position that I secure.

Discovering My Ideal Role: A Journey into the Domain of Environmental Interpretation
As I immerse myself in this week's course material, I can't help but ponder the ideal role I envision for myself within the field of environmental interpretation. To kick off this introspection, I've been reflecting on activities close to my heart, like those moments when I eagerly educate my friends and family about the intricacies and marvels of the environment during camping retreats and hikes. There's something truly fulfilling about guiding them through contemplative discussions and encouraging reflection on the origins of things. I realized that my natural inclination for storytelling and engagement aligned with elements from the TORE model, particularly in crafting anecdotes relevant to the audience to ensure an enjoyable experience (Beck et al., 2019).
Tumblr media
In my previous blog entry, I touched upon my newly rekindled relationship with the natural world, making it a daily ritual to be present and mindful in nature. This commitment has sparked a profound sense of stewardship, compelling me to preserve the daily beauty I encounter. This ignited a desire within me to communicate and nurture this sense of responsibility, directing my focus towards a role that serves as a conduit for facilitating this noble objective.
Considering my values, personal interests, and past experiences, the ideal image of an environmental interpreter that forms in my mind takes the shape of a hiking or trail guide for various provincial parks and botanical gardens. In this multifaceted role, I envision leading educational tours, conducting interactive programs, and developing materials to enrich visitors understanding of the environment. This career path offers the audience diverse modes of experiential learning, catering to a wider group of people. It's not just about my love for experiencing beauty of nature but also sharing it in various ways with eager minds. Through this envisioned role, I hope to cultivate a profound sense of responsibility and an imperative to protect the world around us.
Tumblr media
As I consider the skills required for this ideal role, Tilden's emphasis on interpretation as an art that provokes becomes a guiding principle. It's not merely about instructing; it's about addressing the whole person. Therefore, a crucial skill would be the ability to be aware of diverse learning styles while being an effective and proactive interpreter. This involves understanding the audience and knowing how to captivate them based on their individual characteristics. The learning style activity in this weeks unit served as a reminder of the different ways people absorb information, emphasizing the importance of incorporating it into their pre-existing cognitive map, viewed through the lens of constructivist theory (Beck et al., 2019).
To enhance my role, I propose the incorporation of total programming, offering a more comprehensive experience while catering to a diverse audience with varying skill levels (Beck et al., 2019). The application of technology opens new avenues for engagement, such as podcasts, providing ample opportunities for the audience to immerse themselves. The array of activities, programs, and readily available self-guided facilities creates an environment where individuals can fully engage in interpretive recreation (Beck et al., 2019). Paired with a constructivist approach, this approach creates a dynamic learning environment, empowering the audience to construct their own knowledge and experiences (Beck et al., 2019).

The Final Count Down
Sunday 11/26/2023
Technically I’m supposed to be on vacation until tomorrow, but I have some time on my hands and thoughts on my mind.
This is the last day of classes and I’m working on some final assignments: The last touches on a research paper for the capstone course for my Interdisciplinary Studies major, a PowerPoint for the Hands-on History Internship Showcase on Friday, and a reflection on my service-learning hours with the LGBTQ History Museum of Central Florida – again, for capstone.
All I can think about is graduation! I’m so close, I can feel the end nearing!
My nerves are finally dissolving, leaving me with anxious anticipation, and a bit of “senioritis” as I chug through these final tasks.
Once the semester ends, this internship will fulfill the last course credits that I need – pending the History Department’s substitution – to complete my history minor.
Even though UCF has an Interdisciplinary Studies Master’s Program, I’m looking forward to turning in my application for the Public History Master’s Program by the priority deadline (January 15th). I aim to start my degree in the Fall of 2024 and, after learning about another student’s experience from Rollins’ Archival staff, I plan to take one seminar course at a time.
The only exception would be if I’m accepted into the Summer Research Program at UCF, allowing me to earn 6 credits the summer before.
This plan to take things slow is to hopefully avoid burnout and allow me to work with plenty of thought, care, and attention to my master’s degree. I’d also like to have time and energy to dedicate to internships and other forms of hands-on learning experiences like volunteering – maybe even a job that provides opportunities to expand skills that are relevant to public history professions.
Thursday 11/30/2023
Tomorrow is presentation day and I’m first up on the schedule (thank goodness! I’ll get to just sit and listen to everyone else’s experiences for the rest of the time!)
I’m literally functioning on meeting and due dates:
Tomorrow is the Hands-On History Showcase.
Sunday, all of my Capstone Assignments are due.
The following Friday, my final is due.
Then the Friday after that is graduation.
After that, I have about a month until the priority deadline for applications for the Public History Master’s Program at UCF.
That’s as far out as I can think right now.
I’m full of excitement and anxiety, but I’m also hopeful and optimistic!
Most of all, I am grateful, and I plan to spend some time throughout the following weeks communicating that to the mentors who positively impacted my undergraduate journey – pretty much all of them. (I was wondering if I was going to get sentimental leading up to graduation and, finally, here I am typing through calm tears as I reminisce on how lucky I am to have so many wonderful people to reach out to with gratitude.)
I’m glad this is how I chose to spend my final semester. Earlier this year, I was thrown off my path and I was heartbroken trying to piece together a new plan that accommodated my limited capacities as a student living with disabilities.
Now, two weeks from graduation, I stand firmer and more confident in my plans, goals, and desires.
Thank you to the wonderful faculty, staff, and peers who taught me so much along the way! Without their support, I would not have accomplished all that I have throughout my undergraduate career.
See you next Fall as a master’s student! (fingers-crossed)
Friday 12/01/2023
The showcase just ended and that just about wraps up the semester for me!
Everyone else had some incredibly enriching experiences and it was cool to see someone else who participated in the HerStory: Women in History Internship at the Orange County Regional History Center.
It seems the structure of it has come a long way, allowing her to accomplish so much more hands-on work than I had during my time there!
There was a lot of diversity in the projects everyone worked on, so I also learned other ways of being a public historian and doing public history work.
Hopefully, when I enter the Public History Master’s Program at UCF I’ll get to work alongside some of these wonderfully talented individuals!
Thanks for following my journey!

Busy Making A Great Book Alive As A Great Play For You:Why Will Dominic, Alex And I Re-do ‘Tuesdays With Morrie’ In APA, 3rd to 12th Nov 23? Come!
Replays of captivating drama are wonderful because they must have something good to share again. One can securely look for something different from the past versions.
The play Tuesdays with Morrie (相約星期二) produced by me and to be presented in November (3rd Friday to 12th Sunday Nov 2023 in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts香港演藝學院) will be your emotional discernment from a ‘vintage’ story and idolatry of a wonderful character: After being diagnosed with the illness of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 漸凍人症), Professor Morrie’s final days were spent giving his former close sociology student Mitch, the great inspiring lessons of life. The memoir by the writer Mitch Albom is divided into 14 different ‘days’ that he spent with Professor Morrie. Throughout the days, Morrie and Mitch discussed various topics important to life and living. Morrie’s death and his wisdom on life represent the book’s message: We never know the day that we shall leave this earth. If we live our life to the fullest and realize how valuable a meaningful life can be, we will know how to love one another, how to live with no regrets and how to face death if we have to.
Tuesdays with Morrie is a real story. The career of sportswriter Mitch Albom took a big turn in 1997 when his book Tuesday with Morrie was published. As it is the true story of his touching reunion with Morrie Schwartz who was his admired college professor battling with death, the book went on to sell millions of copies. Mr Albom became and has been a world-famous writer since 1997.
The story is simple yet compelling. It is short yet long-lasting in terms of the spiritual awakening that it has on one’s life. Tuesdays with Morrie has been turned, as a celebratory recognition, into a play and an amazing TV drama.
In Hong Kong, the book was made a play more than 20 years ago. The success was evidenced by its long-running record in excess of 200 performances. Sadly, the former accomplished director Ko Tin Lung(古天農) passed away in 2022 and the brilliant actor Chung King Fai(鍾景輝) who played the role of Morrie has retired for years. Most great things in life cannot have returns. The show ended but could we have a way to make it alive?
One day, it did happen. Director and actor Dominic Cheung(張可堅), actor Alex Fong(方力申) and I had lunch. I said, “Right now, there are many social conflicts in Hong Kong and such differences have resulted in a society of tension and misunderstanding. Many people experience a lack of direction due to undefined objectives and values in life. The play of Tuesdays with Morrie is relevant at this best possible moment. Through the play, Morrie teaches us to appreciate our life, feel happy for all the little things around us and live life fully. He inspires us to love, have faith and acceptance, and laughter. But above all, Morrie teaches us forgiveness.”
Alex said, “I met a few excellent teachers in my life. They raised my problem-solving abilities and confidence. I was empowered by them in my personal development. I really want to thank them. I have not taken part in any theatrical performance before. Why don’t we go ahead and present again Tuesdays with Morrie?”
Dominic said, “The friendship with Tin Lung (Ko Tin Lung) and King Sir (Chung King Fai) has been a bond that profoundly lifted my spirit. Together, we walked on the theatrical paths uncharted. If my existing drama group allows me to do so, I would have no hesitation in re-doing Tuesday with Morrie. I will be excited to share the spiritual connections with the past and my fond memories with the audience now!”
Some great things are done by a series of small things brought together. There can also be a great thing which is done merely by impulse. The desire to do Tuesdays with Morrieis an impulsive string in the heart of Dominic, Alex and myself that would best be vibrated. People seldom consider the consequences of impulsive actions. Following our decision, the group started an up and active struggle from the moment that the bell went off. There was always a mountain to climb at the beginning. We had to contact the author Mitch Albom, book the venue from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, gather the able teammates on and off stage, find the rehearsal space, prepare the posters, market the tickets, hold the press conference and resolve human conflicts…
We organized an online campaign called ‘Our Great Mentors’. Dominic, Alex and I are grateful to the teachers and mentors that we have come across during the past. There are many things to gain from having a role model steering us on the right path. Mentors help us avoid mistake, wiser and be a better person. They tug, push and lead us to the next plateau, poking us with a sharp stick which is ‘honest truth’.  I met a great teacher in my life and he is Mr D Chu.
Winning is fun. But, giving up is the biggest temptation when you have to embark. Nicole Scherzinger, singer and actress, correctly said, “You cry and you scream and you stomp your feet and you shout. You say, ‘you know what? I’m giving up. I don’t care.’ And then you go to bed and you wake up and it’s a brand new day, and you pick yourself back up again.”
Dominic, Alex and I put aside our worries and are busy working—making a great book alive as a great play again, and please come to support between 3rdto 12th November!!

Reflection on my Dickinson Education
Reading through both the goals of a Dickinson College education and learning goals of the computer science major specifically, I can confidently say that I will graduate having fulfilled them all. Looking back on my four years as a student here, I am more than satisfied with the education that I have been given, and proud of myself for successfully making it through (almost, 2 more months to go). While some of the goals have been emphasized more than others, the courses required of the computer science department and the professors who teach them have gven attention to each one. Describing how I specifically have encountered each one would take far too long, but I can summarize a few of my most significant takeaways from my experience as a Dickinson student.
The most unexpected benefit of my Dickinson computer science education is summed up in one particular learning goal of the major: “Students will gain an understanding of social, legal and ethical issues raised by computing.” Thinking back to even my very first computer science course at Dickinson when I took 130 during the fall semester of my freshman year, we learned about and discussed topical issues related to ethics within computing. Those kinds of discussions continued throughout my four years of undergrad, particularly in 190, 290, and senior seminar but coming up at least briefly in almost every single other class. These discussions not only helped to foster a greater understanding of relevant topics to the field of computer science, but also allowed us to be exposed to sharing and listening to a variety of different, opposing viewpoints in a respectful and productive setting.
The ability to work productively in a partner or group setting is another skill that I can confidently say has improved throughout my undergrad experience. Partner programming frustrated me at first, but I’ve now seen the benefits in actively working as a pair. I’ve even seen partner programming listed as a desired skill on job applications. In a field where the stereotype is an antisocial programmer, working alone in a dark room, the department’s emphasis on collaboration has not only been surprising, but inspiring. My experience working as a part of a team makes me want to pursue a career path that values teamwork just as much as Dickinson does.
The excerpt from Dickinson’s goals of a college education, “our distinct characteristics of independence, inquiry and engagement are rooted in a practical, real-world approach to the liberal arts,” can be easily exemplified by the computer science major’s use of open source as a learning tool. I’m very happy to have gained real world experience and developed a relevant skillset contributing to both the projects FarmData2 and Oppia. These skills make me a more qualified candidate when applying for jobs, and I can absolutely apply them within an industry career. Not only that, but it’s given me the chance to apply my knowledge in a way that makes an impact. Both FarmData2 and Oppia fall under the umbrella of Humanitarian Free and Open Source Software (HFOSS). Being encouraged to volunteer my time and skills toward a worthwhile endeavor fulfills several of the points made in the general goals of a Dickinson Education, specifically to “produce critical thinkers…forever ready to make a difference” who are ”ready to make significant contributions in an ever-changing world.”
Saying that after studying computer science at Dickinson I now “understand core concepts of computer science, including data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, and computability” is an obvious statement, but I’d like to expand on that point. More than just understanding the concepts alone, I now have an understanding of how they intertwine. The way that the major track is designed, every class builds upon the knowledge that we have previously learned. Taking analysis of algorithms before computability and complexity feels incredibly beneficial, because I have already been introduced to the concepts surrounding complexity. What I learned in data structures has applied to almost every single class that I’ve taken since then. I feel as though Dickinson has given me not just individual bits of knowledge, but a grasp of the computer science discipline as a whole, and an ability to continue building upon what I have learned.
Regarding the goal “students will acquire the ability to recognize, design, apply and implement abstractions in complex computing systems,” I am able to give a very specific example. When I worked as a FarmData2 intern during the summer of 2021 along with Iris, we spent a large chunk of our time working on a custom table component. The goal of this component was to have a versatile building block that could be used on any page of the web app, regardless of the information that needed to be displayed, and that could be easily implemented by a contributor who did not know the ins and outs of how the component was constructed. What was great about that experience is that I not only gained a better understanding of abstraction in an academic sense, but we were also implementing it in a real-world scenario. That whole summer working on the project was a great opportunity, and the custom table component just one of the many experiences that I will carry with me after college.
One of the things that makes me the most thankful that I go to Dickinson is when I talk to students at other schools, especially computer science majors. Descriptions of two-hundred person lecture halls, impersonal professors, and a lack of resources for struggling students have all been reoccurring themes. Are there things that I would change about my college experience if I could? Sure, for one thing I’d rather not have gone through a pandemic in the middle of it, but in terms what I learned, how I’ve grown, and the skills that I’ve cultivated have all been because of the environment created by Dickinson’s dedication to the liberal arts. That dedication is perfectly summarized in their learning goals, which I can now confidently say are no longer goals, but achievements.
