Ladies and Gentlemen. I give you Little Vesperia. She's a powerful punch in a petite package! I posted her design in sketches ages ago but I was SO jazzed to finally do it digital. And I finally could do Teen Zoé and Vesperia.
Buckle up folks this is a long one.
I won't go into too much detail on Teen Zoé's fit, since I already talked about it in here. But Vesperia is where things get more interesting.
Little Vesperia obviously takes more inspiration from Queen Bee since in my rewrite Zoé idolizes Chloé so much. Zoé's father couldn't really be bothered to care about Zoé, she's been at every boarding school and summer camp he could afford while still keeping most of the money Audrey sends him. She rarely sees him, and when they are stuck together he wants her out of sight and out of mind.
Then Zoé is uprooted entirely when Audrey's infidelity is exposed. To save face she gets brought to Paris, to play at being one big happy family. She may be young, but she's wise enough to know this is just another person using her for their gain. She did face bullying at her schools, and a whole lot of nothing done about it from the teachers.
She also does not speak french. Which means that a good 70% of people have no idea how to communicate with her. And Audrey was no help. Zoé vas given so little information she didn't even KNOW she had an older sister when the was taken to France. Chloé was a complete blindside to her.
And she especially doesn't expect this intimidating teenager to kneel down to her level, and in perfect english explain that it's okay to be scared and she'll make sure Zoé won't be stuck wondering what's gonna happen next.
They spend the rest of the day learning where everyone is, and what certain things are called in french so that Zoé has a better way to communicate. They also sit down and order decorations for Zoé's room.
Zoé fully anticipated André to ignore her, but he is kind like he is in cannon. Just very busy so can only get in small conversations with her. Still, he's shown her more care than her own father had in the 9 years she's been alive. Since he'll ask her about her day, anything she may need, how school has been, etc. He also manages to get a free day to show her all the cool things in the hotel that most people don't know are there. He tries to have dinner with Chloé and Zoé as often as possible and they eat lunch together at the hotel at least once a week.
Now to Teen Zoé. I'll probably write this down in a separate post but my Idea for her is because of the limits I put on the rabbit miraculous Bunnix is no longer able to fight Timetagger, but she IS able to bring someone from that point in time to help instead. And since bringing anyone that could be recognized could potentially cause a paradox, the best solution is to bring in someone who they haven't met yet.
Design wise I like Vesperia's cannon design but it does look more like a wasp than a bee. I based her top on these biker jackets that had segments on the sides and just made the segments alternate black and yellow. I originally planned to keep the black top and yellow bottoms, but it just didn't look the way I wanted it too. I think making the jacket yellow makes it look much more like a bee. Also black mask because I like how those look better.
I think Little Vesperia looks good too, different enough from Queen Bee while still looking like she took inspiration, my favorite part was making it look like she had striped socks. While Teen Zoé looks like a logical progression while also dipping into badass as opposed to cute. Also her pupils turn gold to further differentiate her from Queen Bee.
(Bonus- Verpseria with colors closer to her originals)

More Than Just Friends
Tumblr media
Title: More Than Just Friends
Song: Just Friends by Audrey Mika
Pairing: Felix x reader
Word count: 945
Warnings: lil bit of arguing
Summary: Felix and the reader realize their relationship is more than just friendship, insecurities and jealousy arise when they see each other with other people.
--
It was a warm summer evening and Felix and you had planned to hang out at the park. As you walked towards your usual spot, you noticed Felix was already there, sitting on the bench, with a girl you had never seen before.
You walked towards them and greeted them. Felix introduced her as a new friend he had made through work. You tried to be friendly, but you couldn't help feeling jealous as you watched Felix laugh with her. You tried to push the feeling aside and joined in on the conversation.
The three of you talked for a while, but you couldn't shake off the feeling of jealousy. You had been hanging out with Felix for a while now, and even though you weren't officially dating, there was something between you two. You thought Felix felt the same way, but neither of you had made a move.
As the night went on, you noticed Felix seemed to be paying more attention to his new friend than he was to you. You felt a twinge of sadness and decided to leave early. Felix offered to walk you home, but you declined, saying you wanted some time alone.
Later that week, you were hanging out at the dorms with Chan, who was a close friend of both you and Felix. You noticed that Felix seemed distant when he joined you, and you could tell something was bothering him.
As the night went on, you caught Felix glancing at you and Chan with a brooding look, and you felt the tension building. You knew that Felix had always been a little insecure, but you didn't expect it to affect him like this.
All of a sudden, as you and Chan were talking and laughing, you noticed Felix walking towards you. You could see the look of anger on his face, and you braced yourself for what was coming.
"What the hell is going on here?" Felix asked, his voice cold.
"We're just talking, Felix. Is there a problem?" you replied, trying to stay calm.
Felix turned to Chan. "Why are you even here? You know (Y/N) and I are-"
"Are what, Felix?" you interrupted, feeling your own anger start to rise.
Suddenly, Chan excused himself and got up to leave, not wanting to further get between you and Felix. You watched him go, feeling a little uneasy.
"Felix, what's going on?" you asked, breaking the silence. "Are we dating? Are we just friends? What are we to each other?"
He hesitated a moment before speaking, having calmed down slightly. "I'm sorry if I was being a jerk tonight, (Y/N). I just feel like I'm not good enough for you. I don't know. I thought we were more than friends, but you never said anything."
"What do you mean?" you asked, surprised. "I didn't know if you felt the same way. And now, seeing you with that girl a few nights ago, just made me feel like I'm not important to you."
Felix sighed. "That girl is just a friend, (Y/N). You know that. And seeing you with Chan, I don't know, it just made me jealous."
You both stood there in silence for a moment, the tension thick between you. Then Felix took a step closer to you and put his hand on your arm.
Felix shook his head. "I'm sorry, (Y/N). It's just...I feel like you and Chan are closer than you and I are. He's older, more responsible. Chan is always there for you, and I'm worried you'll choose him over me."
You were taken aback by Felix's admission. You had never realized that he felt so insecure about your relationship. You reached out to place your hand on his, wanting to comfort him.
Felix's eyes softened, and he leaned in closer to you. "I care about you too, (Y/N). More than I can put into words. But I just feel like...just friends don't do what we do."
You knew that Felix was right. Your relationship was more than just friends, but you hadn't taken things to the next level yet. You took a deep breath, gathering your courage.
You looked up at Felix, feeling tears prick your eyes. "Felix, maybe it's time we stop pretending that we're just friends. Maybe we should give this a chance and see where it takes us."
Felix's eyes widened, and he looked at you in surprise. "Are you serious?"
You nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. "I am. I've been wanting to tell you for a while now, but I was too afraid."
Felix grinned, pulling you into a tight hug. "I'm so happy, (Y/N). I've been wanting this for so long, but I didn't know how to tell you."
As you and Felix hugged, he pulled away and looked into your eyes. "Can I kiss you?"
Your heart skipped a beat, and you nodded eagerly. Felix leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a soft, sweet kiss. It felt like all the tension between you disappeared in that moment, replaced with a sense of rightness.
After you pulled away, you couldn't resist showering little kisses all over Felix's freckles. He laughed, his fingers running up and down your back as you both basked in the afterglow of your first kiss.
As you snuggled up together, you knew that things had changed between you. But you also knew that the bond you had built as friends would only grow stronger as you explore your relationship together. And as you looked at Felix, his eyes full of love and adoration, you knew that you had made the right choice.

Detailed description of how old Gabriel Agreste is acording to show with leaks
In Episode 20, the date on Gabriel's real ID as “Gabi Grassette” is given is April 23, 19*5.
They didn't want to give an exact date because Thomas and other creators don’t like give exact dates for show so they blacked out the middle number, but the storyboards show the date as 1985.
But that can't explain it fully because anything not shown in the show is not real , So much can be extracted from storyboards
Tumblr media
Here Gabriel definitely looks like a pre-teenager , probably 14-15 years old
But if we have to go based on the information given to us :
Thomas Astruc said in a comic-end interview that he wanted to publish a comic in which he wanted to tell about Gabriel's life as a teenager and how he met people like Emilie and Nathalie
Tumblr media
So this means that Gabriel met Emilie when he was a teenager and in Episode 24 show what Gabriel looks like when he meets Emilie in Felix's story
He has wavy hair and wears a blazer, freed from his old punk look with purple mohawk and he’s big enough to have its own apartment
Tumblr media
18-19 is still a teenage age, but you are entitled to have your own apartment and explains the case of Emilie, who came to Paris for "study" , Emilie may have come to Paris for college or for the last year of high school or as a some kind of exchange student
According to Felix's, Emilie found true love "Immediately ”when she came to Paris , they probably decided to be together for less than one year and they got married quickly in the story
Also, in Episode 22, we learned that Audrey and Andre are really old friends of this couple and that's they are the ones made the two of them come together even Gabriel sewed his first suit to Andre so he could feel more confident in expressing his feelings to the girl he liked : Audrey
When Audrey and Andre were not together, Gabriel and Emilie were together and even lived in the same house as a married couple according to Andre’s “Do you remember when we were young and penniless? You, Me and Emilie would make the world a better place from yours little attic” in Episode 22
Tumblr media
In an episode of Season 4, we see Andre and Audrey celebrate their 20th anniversary , so they have been married for at least 20 years and we also know that Gabriel and Emilie have been married longer
In the Weredad episode, we learn that Tom will turn 40 from 39, and we find out that Sabine and Tom have been married for 20 years , This information makes him married at 19-20, as confirmed by his Wiki page
So according to the Miraculous universe there are lot of people were married at that young
But I think Gabriel must be older than Tom because he has gray hair.
Gabriel and Emilie met in the story, they got married right away which makes me think that they married between the ages of 18-20, when Gabriel should have met her "when he was a teenager"
Tumblr media
Now we all know that Emilie is inferitle , Gabriel said “For so long…We thought we would never able to have a child,” in final episode
They were married for a very long time until they have Adrien : Which makes sense because they were poor when they got married.
Gabriel was the son of a fast-food business owner who didn't come from a wealthy family anyway, and Emilie, on the contrary, was the heiress of a old-money and noble British aristocratic family and she was a “Lady”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her parents were furious that she was with a ordinary man like Gabriel who were not the extremly wealthy and powerful man we know at the time so her parents wanted her to end this relationship and they probably had a plan in their mind for her to have a arranged marriage with a powerful and rich man just like they would do to her twin sister Amelie
But she choose him and they married poor , I guess they didn't even have a wedding because Felix showed off his parents' marriage with a fancy wedding, but Emilie simply split her ring in half and put it on Gabriel
Tumblr media
But then we saw them living in the mansion we know now so they are pretty rich enough have to afford a huge mansion next to the Eiffel and they still don’t have a child so they didn't have a child from their poor to ultra-rich times, confirming Gabriel's "Too long time"
Also we know they are married more longer than Andre&Audrey who is married for 20 years
Of course, we cannot interpret Gabriel's "Long Time" perception, maybe 5 or 10 years
So if we collect all this information :
He married Emilie when he was a teenager who could have his own apartment so thats make him 18-19 and there are couples who get married so young in the series and he supposed to fell for and married with Emilie after a short time she came to Paris
They didn't have children for long, and that was long enough to go from poor to a multi-rich life (So maybe 5-10 years)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They look grown-ups here and never look like the teenagers-to-adult types so probably 30
And we know that Adrien is 14-15 years old and they're going to make Adrien there
And this is a series set in 2014-2015
and Marinette and Kagami's birth dates are 2000 and 2001, and Marinette and Kagami are where he talks about the Chinese zodiac signs
This means that confirms Gabriel's date of birth in the storyboard and yes Gabriel was born in 1970 , because the date 1985 is the date of issue of that identity, not the date of birth
This makes Gabriel 44-45 years old and possibly married with Emilie since 25 years

14. "you're supposed to talk me out of this."
al finds audrey on a hill overlooking a labyrinth of mirrors, and not for the first time wishes sburb hadn’t been quite so on the nose with making every player confront the strange fear buried deep in their subconsciousness.
“thought it might be you,” audrey says, with a sigh. she barely has to glance at him, her control over mind so total she probably knew exactly who was going to follow her before she’d even decided to storm away.
“i drew the short straw,” al says lightly, because he knows it’ll make her laugh, and it does. “so. you good?”
“does it seem like i’m good?” audrey asks, and groans. “i just found out there was an entire conspiracy, apparently orchestrated by the future version of myself, that brought my best friend, my ex-best friend, shigeo’s brother and your brother into this fucked up game, but now they’ve somehow lost all four of them and have no idea where they are. and we had to find that out from her.” al knows immediately who she’s talking about; shoka had not endeared herself to any of them arriving the way she had. for her sake, al’s glad shadow’s doing his own personal quest on his own planet right now. “i’m surprised you’re so calm about this.”
heh. calm. audrey’s lucky she can’t feel the storm churning in al’s chest right now. “ed’s not incapable,” he says. “he had the alchemy thing too.”
“if he’s anything like you, and he’s still with the others, then they’re probably fine. is that what you’re trying to say?”
“he’s nothing like me,” al says. “but he is my older brother. so yeah. they’re probably fine.” he sits down next to her. “that doesn’t mean i’m not still worried about him. and i’m worried about emma and noah and ritsu too.”
audrey stares at her hands. “if i reach,” she said quietly, “i could probably find one of them. i could nudge them onto the path that brings them right back here, safe and sound. there’d be a consequence for it. there always is. trish would know it better than me. but i could do it.”
al just watches her carefully, and finally audrey looks over at him with some surprise on her face. “you’re supposed to talk me out of this,” she says.
“i told you,” he says. “i’m worried too.” that, and he knows audrey never would; she’s always been very deliberately against taking direct control of anyone’s fate without their foreknowledge and permission. if they were worse people, then perhaps.
“i need to go find them,” audrey says. “i know we have shit we need to do. i know we have to keep looking for the frog. but i— there has to be a reason why i told jason to bring them into the incipisphere. and it can’t just be for them to die. i need to find out where they went and make sure they’re safe.”
“okay,” al says. “give us a couple of days and we’ll go after them.”
audrey looks at him sharply. “what?”
“even if ed and ritsu weren’t there,” al says, “do you really think i’d make you go alone? that any of us would? no,” al says, standing up. “we’re all going to go. we have all the time in the world to find our genesis frog. a little detour won’t hurt.”
he offers her a hand, and audrey takes it and lets him pull her up. “you’re speaking for the group here,” she notes. “how do you know the others will say yes?”
“oh, please, like mob would ever say no,” al retorts. “and i think trish will surprise you. shoka…”
“she doesn’t have to come,” audrey says darkly. al laughs, and rubs at the side of his neck.
“i’m not going to turn her away if she decides to tag along,” he says. “you know that.”
“oh, i know,” audrey says. “but maybe i’ll just… nudge her into one of mob’s soup rivers.”
“yeah, what are up with those?” al starts to tug audrey away, and counts it as a victory when she only looks back at the mirrors once.

Ok need to clarify something real quick
Red: is marked as bad person/ or negative influence upon a character at a time. (Creed pressured in trust or betrayal,Mistin causing them to ultimately have a panic attack Creed doesn’t know what Mistin gone through nor do they know what’s currently going on. They’re girlfriend or ex fiancé fun fact! 👀 was always a negative influence she only cared what benefits herself, and used Mistin to help out they’re villainous schemes. Double will have the red color.)
Blue: is marked as importance. (such as an important person in someone’s life or important in general like Mistin, they’re important to both Ray and how the world may or may not continue. Even Audrey’s mother was an important person in Audrey’s story as you all read or at least I think you read it. Sorry it’s so long… 🥲 AHEM! But anyways the. Blue ultimately is gonna mark important characters in the story other than the main 3.)
Why is Audrey pink then?
Clear answer is that she is a character that is also considered important but however not important enough? Audrey is a character who cares too much about the people around them, they push themself to grow stronger to protect the people around them and who they find important! Of course by caring for Ray like a worried little sister causes her to be a little easy to manipulate if not careful. Though they’re familiar about such manipulation tactics they sometimes fall victim to some due to the fact they want to help people. Even the the Hero behind the mask, otherwise known as Ray, and when she finds out how important Mistin is to him she’ll ultimately become protective of them as well and try to gain a better understanding as why Mist is important to him. (I imagine them becoming friends after the events of binary star hero. :v)
What is Creeds color then?
Creed is planned to be on Haley’s route, but is actually known to worry for Mistin because they also were a villain that took part in the villain world because he didn’t wanna sit around and do nothing, despite their parents objections in saying so. So if you guys haven’t read the first fanfic I made upon introducing Mistin called stuck in the moment you can see Creed’s color is pink! But in another one he ultimately makes a bad decision in pressuring Mistin into opening up with that he was labeled as red in that moment. Creed doesn’t know the struggles Mistin went through for him to actually leave the villain world due to their older brother fully turning into a super villain. (You guys don’t know this but they’re parents actually play an important role more than you guys actually think. That’s right! I made the parents important to the Malice siblings! >:D)
Will you get a fanfic of Creed in the future before the finale?
Yes! Creed is a character i put in not as a throw away character but as a character that is still labeled important in the story! (I have a few ideas on the fire scene tho. Despite Mistin and Creed living separately from each other. ☕️👀)
Who is Doubles love interest in the end?
Tumblr media
…..um…. No one….
Mistin is still his main focus. If you haven’t played the game he’s practically tracking the mc down like tiger stalking his prey.
Do you ever get tired of writing about the fandom?

Chad Charming Headcanons revised;
Tumblr media
Chad's full birth name that is on his birth certificate is 'Chadwick Robert Charming'.
Chad's birthday is July 4th.
He's 8 years older than his little sister, Chloe.
His mom's actual name is Ella but most people know her as Cinderella and his dad's name is Kit.
His Paternal grandparents' names are Robert and Cordelia and his Maternal grandparents' names are Marcus and Camilla.
He was adopted by his parents when he was little.
His grandfather gifted him a small crown when he was first brought home and Chad really looked up to him growing up.
He has naturally curly hair and uses hair gel, hair spray, and a hair straightener because he’s really insecure about his looks.
This is because he doesn’t look like his parents at all.
He use to be a really sweet kid but due to a few losses in the family, his sister’s poor health, his friends and him drifting apart, and a lack of attention for his parents (atop of school faculty letting him get away with nearly everything because they felt bad for him) he started to become the boy we saw on screen.
After his grandfather died, Chad started to resent his younger sister but hide it. He still loves her but finds it hard to be around her due to the difference in the amount of love and attention their parents give her and him.
Chad also really resents his friends (Jane, Ben, Doug, Lonnie, and Audrey)— minus Audrey— for how they all seemed to forget about him in middle school.
This is what causes him to act out against everyone– he’s desperate for attention. Good or bad.
He started to steal, lie, cheat, swear, and more. He got into more fights and started coming home less and less— spending more time at Fg's house and the baker's than his own.
He would also spend time with his aunt Snow White and uncle Florian and his friends' families to avoid going home.
He stopped doing this when they started commenting on it because he felt unwelcomed and didn’t want to cause trouble for his parents, who were doing the best they could given the situation they were in.
Said situation being his sister’s poor health, his many learning disabilities, his poor social skills, the many deaths in their family/inner circle, the responsibility of running a kingdom, and the responsibility of trying to get The Tremaine Family and Kit’s twin brother, James, off the isle.
When he started to go Auardon Prep, Chad started staying there instead of over at his aunt and uncles’ (The Baker, Snow, Florian, and and FG) places because he didn’t want to be a burden on them and didn’t want to go home only to be mostly forgotten.
He met Doug through Jane because Doug is her cousin.
He also met Lonnie through Jane.
Ben and Audrey, on the other hand, he had known since they were babies.
Chad is not neurotypical.
He's younger than Ben and Lonnie but older than Audrey, Doug, and Jane. Though not by much.
Chad used to be the protector (Jay) of the ak group alongside Lonnie.
He's allergic to honey and feathers.
He used to go to the beach, the circus,  amusement parks, and playgrounds with his grandpa and Chloe.
He used to enjoy bird watching with them too.
He still tries to get feathers on his clothes even though it causes him to break out horribly. Evie was informed of this by Doug, which is one of the reasons why she refused to make him a feathery cape.
He stopped trying to eat honey after he turned 12.
He cried a lot as a child. Alot.
He was a very needy child for obvious reasons.
Chad’s parents spoil him to make up for the lack of attention they are able to give him, which he just sees as them trying to pay to get rid of him.
Chad helped his frantic parents look for Chloe after she ran off after the Maleficent incident in d1 Chad stopped letting his sister play with his friends and pets after he realized just how much more attention than him she got.
Chad is a slow learner.
Chad is claustrophobic, scared of Lady Tremaine, and terrified of losing his friends/ending up alone.
He and Chloe used to ride their bikes around the castle halls a lot. Mainly with Jane.
He tried to help Jane learn how to fly when she was younger before she started hiding her wings.
Council meetings bore the hell out of him.
Chad has a horse, 3 mice, a dog, and a cat— all descended from his parents' pets— and never lets anyone touch them in fear they'll hurt them or take them away.
He also secretly fears that his pets will leave him like previous friends of his once they find someone better.
He is only creeped out by mice that aren’t his because he’s afraid they’ll tattle on him to his mom.
He can be a bit obsessive and lazy sometimes.
Chad has trouble picking up on social cues.
Chad's pet mice are named 'Dagger, Starlight, and Cobalt'.
His cat is named 'Diamond'.
His dog is named 'swiggles'
And His horse is named 'colonel' .
His hobbies include but are not limited to: Fencing, sword-fighting, modeling, playing dress up, playing sports of any kind, playing games, singing, dancing, stargazing, playing video games, playing with animals, collecting action figures, watching cartoons, reading comics, fighting, exploring, swimming, and horseback riding.
He talks to his pets even though he doesn't always understand what they are saying.
He's really jealous of the vks because they get away with a lot of stuff that Coach Jenkins would never let him get away with, they get a lot of attention from people, and they always seem so confident.
He has had the hugest crush on Audrey since he was little but it was always one sided.
It crushed him when he realized that Audrey and him were only together so they could make Ben jealous. He became extremely jealous of Ben when he realized it and started acting like he didn't care about him.
He hates what he's become and wants to change but isn't sure if he can anymore. Or if it will be worth it, anymore.
He flinches away from Audrey for months after d3. He still does sometimes.
He wants to be a professional model or  Trophy Husband or varsity tourney player/swords and shield player. Mainly because he doesn't think he's smart enough to do anything else.
He still has his old baby blanket and his stuffed horse—which he hides away underneath his bed.
His favorite food is toast, pudding, and prunes. He also enjoys pizza.
His favorite drink is hot chocolate with cinnamon.
He was afraid of the dark until he was 7.
He wet the bed until he was 8.
His favorite colors are blue, yellow, white, and gold.
Chad loves going to the gym and he loves mirrors.
He freaks out whenever he gets messy as he gets older because he wants people to care about him.
His favorite song is 'Jock Star' by Hercules' muscles.
He can't stand the song 'He's a guy' by The Underworldians. It reminds him too much of himself.
He can't look at himself in the mirror sometimes without wanting to scream.
Sometimes, when he's alone, he screams to let all the anger and hate and pain out.
He joined forces with Audrey in descendants 3 for three reasons; she was the only one who really talked to him anymore, he was in love with her, and so everyone at the party could get away and warn everyone.
He can tell when something is wrong with his friends, thank you very much. And just like when Ben was spelled, there was something wrong with Audrey.
No one listened to him either times.
You can guess how annoyed he was by that.
He was missing for days after d3. Too freaked out and out of it to find his way home.
His uncle, The Baker, was the one who found him.
He was out of it for a few days after that too. When he came out of it, he met his Aunt Anastasia and four cousins (from her) for the first time. He didn't have much to say but she understood.
Chad loves his pets and friends more than anything. Even if it doesn't always seem that way.
One day, when he was little, his horse got loose and was missing for days.
He didn't stop crying until it was found. Yes, he got sick several times.
Fg decided to make sure that something like this would never happen again by... blessing Chad so that his pets would always be able to find him and get to him, no matter where he was.
Chad promised to never tell anyone and it's one of the few promises he's been able to keep over the years.
He named his stuffed horse 'Governor' and his stuffed bird 'Consort'.
He also had/has a doll that kinda looks like him that he named 'Little Chad'.
He had two imaginary friends that he called his other mother and his other father. He let go of them when he was 10.
His favorite social media is InstaRoyal.
His favorite treat that his uncle—the baker—makes him alot is Banana bread.
He develops a crush on Gil not long after d3.
He starts going to therapy after d3 and takes a break from his old friends—yes even Audrey—so he could work on himself.
He gets along surprisingly well with a lot of his step cousins. Anthony especially.

Ten shows, interviews, podcast guests, and a performance at the VMAs. That's what they'd done in less than a month. But, it was necessary -- they were in the limelight. Their shows were selling out. It was now or never. No time for rest. Book that interview. Schedule that podcast. Here's a photoshoot. Record new songs. For Jakob and the rest of the crew, riding the high -- chasing a new level of fame -- it was all they could focus on.
But performing and traveling so much had a certain weight to it, and it applied its pressure to anyone -- rockstars weren't immune to it. They soothed themselves with nice hotel rooms, good food, booze, and drugs.
Jakob had told her when they first started dating. Yeah, I stay away from it — drugs. Not my thing. Keeps my head clear. That's what he told Audrey.
On the night of the Dallas show, Jakob was seated next to his bandmates and usual crew in the green room. They had finished rehearsals and had about an hour before they went on. It was their usual scene -- music was playing, food and beer were being consumed, they were talking shit in Italian, and coke was being drawn out in little, white lines.
Holly had told Jakob earlier that Audrey had chosen to stay at the hotel room that night -- to focus on her writing. And the coke... Jakob inhaled sharply and tapped his middle finger incessantly on his thigh, eyeing the white line that was singing him some fucking siren call.
"Come on. It's just a little coke," He heard one of his crew tell him in Italian. "And we're in LA. We all deserve a good show tonight, yeah? We need that energy from our frontman!" The rest chimed in, cheering and encouraging him along.
"Just one line," Jakob said as he shifted himself forward on the couch -- toward the low table in the center. Just as Jakob ducked down to snort a line -- Audrey walked in. The room fell silent. Audrey's eyes went from Jakob, to the table, back to Jakob, then she simply turned and walked right back out of the room.
"Fucking shit," Jakob hissed under his breath, quickly standing and taking strides toward the door -- wanting to go after her. Holly immediately threw herself between Jakob and the door. "No. No. Absolutely not, Jakob!" Holly's hands went to her hips, glowering up at him.
There weren't many times Jakob regretted having his little sister as his manager, but now would qualify as one of those times. "You go on in twenty minutes, Jakob. It's cute, I get it, you want to go after her, great, but no -- no fucking way. Sorry! You stay. You can fix whatever the fuck that was later, ok? Ok. Great!" Holly stood her ground, still glaring up at her older brother until Jakob finally took steps back. He muttered, "Fuck this," under his breath and retreated.
Jakob sunk back down into the couch cushions and pulled out his phone to send a text.
I'm sorry. We'll talk after the show.
Jakob was barely able to hit send before Holly came up from behind the couch and snatched his phone from him. "You're done!" She said in a sing-song voice. "Final touch-up time, everyone! Let’s go!”

Taller
A batai lil bendy and Audrey short
“Audrey was trying to stay awake as her and bendy watched a cute little sitcom.
Bendy had a big ol smile as his eyes were glued to the screen. Audrey couldn’t really bother to pay attention after such a long day, only staying awake due to being spooked by bendys sudden squeaks of laughter.
She noticed on the screen a parent kneeling down as a child was lined up against a wall, standing straight. As the kid did so, the parent opened a marker and drew a line right above the kids head.
The child then moved away from the wall and jumped up and down in joy as they saw the newest line was higher up than a couple older marker lines.
She turned to see bendys vacant smile had turned into an expression of pure wonder and curiosity, his eyes still staring at the scene.
“Look daddy! I grew!” The child on the screen exclaimed. The father rubbed her hair lovingly. “You sure did sweetie. Why at this rate, you may even be taller than me when you grow up!” The father said.
She hasn’t noticed bendy had run off as she was starting to fall asleep again. Only to be jumped awake when she felt herself be shook.
She looked down and saw bendy shaking her arm with one hand, holding a marker with another.
“What is it, lil Buddy?” She asked, half asleep. Bendy pointed to the marker, then to the tv and then to a wall.
Oh.
“You want me to mark your height like on the tv?” She asked. Bendy nodded. “Sure. Why not?” She said as she rubbed his head before getting up.
Bendy leaned against the wall and stood straight. Audrey kneeled down to his level and marked the wall right above the top of his head, between his horns.
Bendy jumped away and took a look at the mark. He then pointed at Audrey and then at the wall.
“Do you wanna measure me next?” She asked. Bendy nodded. “Alright then” she said as she gave him the marker and got up.
She leaned against the wall and stood straight. She ended up letting out a laugh as she looked down and saw bendys puzzled and annoyed look.
“Cmon, bendy. I’m right here waiting for ya. Aren’t you gonna mark my height?” She teased. Bendy let out a “hmph!” As he crossed his arms and gave her a cute little mad expression.
He looked around and saw a barstool in the kitchen he could use. He ran to it and pushed it next to Audrey before climbing up on it.
He stood on it and reached over to mark right above Audrey’s head. “Oh, good job bud! You found a way to reach me!” She said as she rubbed his head.
He gave her an annoyed look, still mad at the teasing from earlier. He decided to get revenge by pulling the barstool he was sitting on and having a leg of it land on Audrey’s foot.
“OW! OH YOU LITTLE-“ Audrey shouted as bendy jumped off the stool and ran off, squeaking with laughter.
“Oh no! You get back here!” Audrey yelled as she chased after him. Bendy was still squeaking to himself as he tried to avoid Audrey’s grasp.
-
Audrey was working on some scenes at her desk in her bedroom. She figured taking her work home instead of staying at work late was better for lil bendy.
She felt bad leaving him alone so much. Yeah he was surprisingly self sufficient despite how young he was and he always seemed happy despite being alone so much. But…
Her thought process was stopped when she felt her shirt being tugged. She looked down and saw bendy was the culprit.
“Hi sthisth” he said. He had been doing really well when it came to learning to talk the over the past year, but he seemed to have a lisp that sometimes made it hard to understand what he was saying.
“What is it, bud?” She asked. Bendy pulled out a marker from his pocket and pointed to the hallway outside her room.
“Taller?” He said in his childlike voice. She wasn’t sure what he meant. “Can you show me what you mean?” She asked him.
Bendy nodded and grabbed her hand, yanking her out of her room and to the living room. He let go and pointed to the marks on the wall from months back.
“Ohh! You want me to mark your height again?” She asked. Bendy nodded excitedly.
“Oh. Umm. Sure thing” she said a little nervously.
She wasn’t gonna have to explain to him that he can’t grow like that… right?
“Alright lil Buddy. Line up” she said as she took the marker from him. Bendy went up against the wall and stood straight.
She marked the top of his head between his horns. “Alright bud” she started as he jumped to look.
“Now please don’t be upset if nothings changed. There’s nothing wrong with-“ she stopped as she saw bendy jumping for joy shouting “taller! Yay”.
She looked and saw that the mark she just made on the wall was a good inch above the older one.
That… that can’t be right…
“You weren’t standing on your tip toes, were you?” She asked. Bendy shook his head as he said “Nuh uh”.
Hmm.
“Lemme take another look” she said as she gently grabbed his shoulder and lined him against the wall. She made sure that his feet were planted on the ground as she marked his height again.
He moved away so they could both look. “Sthee?” He said as he pointed to it.
Audrey had a concerned face that confused bendy. She saw his confused look at her and realized her worry was showing.
“Wrong?” He asked. “Oh! No no! There’s nothing wrong, bud! I’m just… surprised. That’s all” she said.
Bendy still gave her a slightly sad look, not buying it. Audrey tried to think of something.
“Hey. I gotta finish up my work. Why don’t you go play in your room and we’ll watch tv later, ok?” She said.
Bendy nodded, still having a slightly sad look before running off to his room.
“Ugh” she muttered as she put a hand on her forehead.
Dammit, Audrey that was awful.
She thought to herself as she looked at the marking. Her mind started to wander as she thought to herself.
How did that happen?
It’s nothing Audrey.
You’re worrying too much.
She thought as she got up. But she just. Couldn’t help having a bad feeling…
Why was she so worried?”
End for now!
I may continue later but this is gettin long

I would gladly disscuss more of my AU with you! Thanks!❤️
What I would like to flesh out more about Zoe's character is the relationships she left behind at New York.
Her father, for example. I haven't watched a lot of season 5, so correct me if I'm wrong, but Zoe never mentions him, or is shown staying in contact him through calls or letters. She doesn't even look like she misses him.
When she first arrived, Audrey mentioned him as "always too busy", which makes me believe he was too busy for his own daughter most of the time. Maybe their relationship is strained, I kinda headcanon that he feels more like a stranger to her, which would explain why she grew so attached to Andre as soon as he showed her some kindness. She desperately needed a father figure (even though Andre is definitely not a good father considering what he did to Chloe🙄)
Anyway, back to Zoe's father... maybe he does care about Zoe, at least enough to let her move to Paris. I'd like to think he allowed it because he found out about the bullying and thought it would be good for Zoe to transfer to a new school. But then, is he aware of how shitty of a mother Audrey is???? Maybe Zoe asked to move with her because she really wanted to get to know her better and connect with her? I refuse to believe Audrey was that involved in Zoe's childhood, I just don't see it.
That makes Zoe's childhood sound so lonely... maybe that's why she would pretend to be someone she is not to have as many friends as possible, to be liked by everyone, to feel less lonely. I headcanon that since she was little, she would watch a lot of movies and insert herself as the protagonists that had a lot of friends and loving families and that kinda made her like the idea of becoming an actress, because it allowed her to escape her reality and be someone else.
This are a few of my headcanons about Zoe that made her feel more interesting to me, sorry if this is long and messy😅
What do you think? Would you like add some of your own?
I like these ideas you have for Zoé for your au. This makes her more of a fleshed out character and gives us reason to like her. I don’t if my ideas would fit but I would like to share them with you. The reason, I think she end up acting so much is because Audrey was stressing her out a lot when she’s a kid. And with her parents arguing a lot (I headcanon that Morgan (Zoé’s dad) has more of spine than André will ever have, so we ended up staying up for himself a lot more) so she try to act a daughter that both of them would want especially Audrey. One daughter that was like a copy of themself (Audrey) and one daughter that was herself (Morgan). She was basically playing to two different roles of her life to keep her family happy and when Audrey left for Paris (for fashion week and to make André stop calling her when she at New York for too long) because despite canon, I like to think Zoé is older than Chloé by a few months or one year even though this probably the most sloppy way to introduce this idea. So she ended up taking a break from being the copy of Audrey for a while, which made her happy. A few years later, and Audrey back at New York which made Zoé sad and mad but couldn’t show it. And the reason, she was send to boarding school was because that Morgan thought she would be much happier there and be safe away from Audrey’s toxic influence. It didn’t work since in the boarding school, she ended up having to act just like Audrey and not even getting a break from it. Which at first was something she can use to protect herself but the more time it goes on, the more she grow tired of it. Which eventually leads to burn out and her not acting like Audrey. Which made the school turned on her since they felt lie to and were scared of this actress for nothing. So they ended up bullying her to the point of leaving insects in her locker. But what got her kicked out, was when she got into fight with the principal’s son and ended up winning. The reason, she was in the fight was because the guy said she will always be her mom and can’t do anything about it, which finally made her break her breaking point. I know that’s much but that’s the idea I came up with. This leads to her and Morgan having an important discussion which ends with him saying sorry to her for making her feel like she didn’t have to be herself. They hugged it out and Zoé still tries to keep connection with him which eventually led to him moving to Paris to be with his daughter. I know this isn’t canon but honestly I don’t care. One last thing, I think her sneakers were from her dad for her birthday, since I like to think he own of a shoes company and it made it just for her, which made her happy.
Sorry, this is a lot to handle but I hope you like it.

Note
Audrey, as the fandom imagines, treats Bendy/acts like Bendy is a child, only for him to either turn into the Ink Demon in front of her, or for him to look her dead in the eyes and say in the Ink Demon's voice "Don't patronize me woman. I'm older than you. Treat your father with respect."
i could have said something poignant, funny perhaps, maybe i could have drawn a thing
instead i said out loud "let him age regress, it's fine, he's coping with trauma"
and then started chuckling despite it basically being true. just let him be baby for a lil bit. give he his coloring books and choo choo, let him go to little space for a while it's fine, he deserves it, he's so tiered
he found his healthy coping mechanism. you might not like it, you might not understand it, but it works for him and that's all that matters. :3

What are your headcanons for Molly Weasley II ? She's my favourite next gen character.
Molly Weasley II is Going Places.
That's what everyone says, anyway, all the time, about everything. Her father is the Minister for Magic; her mother is the best damn prosecutor the Ministry has ever seen. All her aunts and uncles are war heroes; her family is the best-connected in the entire United Kingdom. Of course she's going places.
As she gets older, the narrative shifts a little. She might be the only one who's Going Places. Lucy certainly isn't interested in those same places; most of her cousins aren't, either. Molly is the only Head Girl in the entire family -- Louis made Head Boy, and he's the only other prefect besides her. The rest of her cousins, well, they're going places, but probably not the same places. All the others shooting off like stars and she's the one left on planet Earth, trying to root herself to the ground so she won't blow away in the aftermath.
Molly struggles with them a lot. Lucy is a wildfire, never cares who she burns or how far she runs. James carries grudges like battle armor. Albus digs himself in so deep and covers himself with thorns so that it's impossible to cut through to him. It's so hard to help people who don't want to be helped.
When her parents divorce, her world shatters.
Molly spends most of that summer before her seventh year hiding out at the Burrow. Her grandfather eagerly accepts help in his endless quest to reverse engineer muggle artifacts out in the shed, and her grandmother always has a task in the kitchen or in the garden for her to do. It keeps her busy, keeps her sane, while Percy and Audrey battle it out in the courts for custody of the house, the pets, their daughters, their money.
Lucy is god knows where. Off chasing some high, racing against the world. Trying to outrun the monsters. Molly's not a Gryffindor like her. Never known how to be brave enough to run. Only knows how to hide.
When she gets the Head Girl badge in the mail, she almost hides it, too, but her grandmother finds out and makes her tell her parents - her father is so achingly proud it hurts, and even her mother's hard-won approval is like a knife to the gut. She doesn't tell Lucy. Lucy won't care.
The trouble is, Weasleys aren't raised to be authority figures, and they're not raised to follow the rules. Molly's mother comes from a Ravenclaw pureblood family that puts every expectation on their children to be the smartest wizards and witches alive. But Weasleys are Gryffindors, Weasleys are heroes. Weasleys save the world.
Molly doesn't know how she can save the world if she can't even save her own family crumbling down.
Being smart is its own kind of battle, in a family so notoriously anti-authority. Hugo makes fun of her for it every time she catches him and his friends trying to sneak out at night. Rose calls her a narc when she puts a stop to some rather unflattering graffiti in the fifth floor boy's bathroom. James, already graduated, smuggles in Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes pranks through letters to his little siblings.
Louis tells her it is what it is. Of course, it's easier for him. He's older, he's a boy, and he carries all of Uncle Bill's effortless cool. Even when they're mad at him, the others respect him. But she's the Minister's daughter. One of the girls in her year steals her notebook and scribbles 'nepo baby' in large scrawling black ink over the top of it. Molly spends hours meticulously copying her notes over to a fresh one that night, too exhausted to turn it in to the teachers.
Lucy takes all the pressure their parents pile on them and explodes it outward, but Molly turns it inwards. She has to better than good, better than perfect. She has to prove she deserves it. That it wasn't just handed to her because she has red hair and freckles, because her dad signs bills into law and her mum made Death Eaters cry in court.
She gets amazing job offers in the Ministry, but she turns them all down. The Daily Prophet begs her for an application, since she had told her Head of House she wanted to be a journalist, but she never gets back to them.
She takes an internship at a different newspaper. Just fetching coffees, contributing a few ideas, some fluff pieces that nobody else wants to write. She has to prove herself here. She doesn't want the job just for walking in the door.
One day, she'll be the best investigative journalist in the country -- in the world, even. One day, her parents will be able to handle being in the same room as each other again. One day, her mother will remarry, and Lucy will be happy enough to attend the wedding without making too many snide remarks, and one day, her father will fall in love again, and one day, maybe, it'll be okay.

Hashira's favorite Genre of Music
Here's what I think the demon slayer Hashira's would listen to hope y'all enjoy the first headcanons-
Muichiro Tokito: Muichiro is definitely a bit of an airhead (at least before he met Tanjiro). With that said, he gives me a lot of "no thoughts, head empty" kind of vibes. Therefore, I think his favorite genre of music would probably be lo-fi or just a song's instrumental. I think it would just give him something to listen to as he wanders about, staring at the clouds or just spacing out in general. It also serves to calm him down after a long day of training or battling demons.
Mitsuri Kanroji: This sweet girl has been through a lot, but with that said she doesn't let the music she listens to define her mood. I'd imagine Mitsuri likes to listen to a lot of music that she can simply dance around to, without a care in the world of what anyone else thinks of her. Perhaps she listens to Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, or maybe even Avril Lavinge. Now while this may come of as a very girly thing to say, I think it's extremely befitting for her. Mostly because she got tired of chasing a suitable match. And yes while her method behind becoming a demon slayer was to find a husband, I don't think that would stop her from loving herself. So I think she would listen to artists like this to hype herself up for the day and get her in the right mindset each morning.
Obanai Iguro: Given that Obanai is a rather cold person, and he doesn't really like interacting with anyone other than Mitsuri, he would probably take a liking to her favorite style of music. But ultimately, he wouldn't listen to it often because he finds it to be annoying at times. (However I do think he'd take a liking to Katy Perry because of the way she sings). As for his own taste in music, Obanai is definitely a Pierce the Veil fan, maybe even a fan of Sleeping with Sirens or possibly Fallout Boy. Because he has such a hard time interacting with other people, more specifically women (the exception being Mitsuri of course), he would definitely find some comfort in bands like that. Some of his favorite songs might include "Bulls in the Bronx", "Kick Me", and "Thanks for the mmrs" He especially dedicated the song "If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn" to his and Mitsuri's bond.
Sanemi Shinazugawa: Sanemi is definitely a hot headed individual, dare I say he's the Bakugou of the demon slayer universe, but that's not the point. Sanemi has been through a very horrific past, having killed his mother due to her turning into a demon to save his one remaining brother, Genya. Therefore he lashes out quickly and is swift to want to fight people, or more notably demons, at any given chance. With that said though, he's more than likely gonna listen to something heavy, something that can truly weigh into how he feels so that he knows someone can relate. I'd imagine Sanemi would listen to Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, possibly even Breaking Benjamin. He might even throw in a little bit of Shinedown or even Disturbd. The reason being is simply because these bands allude heavily to feelings of guilt, abandonment, frustration, anger, etc. To have Sanemi know that there's something or someone out there that understands how he feels, it helps him put his mind at ease and calm down, if only for a few moments.
Gyomei Himejima: Gyomei is the embodiment of a living teddy bear; hulking in size yet extremely gentle due to his upbringing. He cared for orphans, grew up extremely religious, and is blind. He was constantly bullied throughout his childhood because of said blindness, and was often told he was faking it because he is able to see the transparent world. He's more empathetic towards others and I definitely see him being an older brother towards the other hashiras. With that said, like Muichiro, Gyomei might enjoy calming lo-fi, or maybe even nature ambiances. Given that he's more in tune with nature than some of the other hashiras, he'd probably just enjoy the sound of a rushing waterfall, the birds chirping, and the wind blowing. When he needs to unwind he listens to lo-fi, taking in the rhythms to help calm himself down. Truly a wholesome man indeed.
Giyuu Tomioka: He's a rather unbothered person, at least on the surface. He doesn't really have a deep hatred for demons (hence why he let Nezuko live), also being extremely reserved and frankly, very shy. It's said he has quite the inferiority complex and suffers from survivor's guilt. However, despite his stoic nature he's known to be very caring towards those he truly trusts and cares for, and gets relatively upset and very angry when the ones he cares for are in danger. Hell, this man's haori is made from half of Sabito's (his late best friend) haori, combined with half of his older sister's haori. With all of that said though, I have a feeling this guy would enjoy artists like The Arctic Monkeys, Penelope Scott, Hozier, and Evanescence. He only listens to music for appreciation, knowing that someone worked hard to put such things out into the world. Plus, like the other hashiras, he appreciates the fact that there's music out there that relates to how he feels internally.
Shinobu Kocho: Though she may display a demeanor of being very friendly, caring, giving, and even motherly - all of that is simply a facade. It's only there to disguise her true colors, as she likes to make fun of people to the point of being sadistic (which I would imagine only happens if they truly deserve it). She also uses said facade to cover up a lot of rage within her. Having lost her older sister, her parents, the entirety of her tsuguko under her training, and her apprentice's families to demons, she naturally harbors a lot of hatred towards demons. (Even going as far to try and kill Nezuko, before Giyuu mentioned the Kamado sibling's situation). With that said, she still harbors a motherly side to her for Kanao's sake, given that she is Shinobu's adoptive younger sister. All of that aside though, I think she would like a lot of the same music as Giyuu, given how close they are. (I headcanon they often share headphones together). Aside from liking Giyuu's taste in music, she might take a liking to bands like Halestorm, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, and possibly even Scene Queen. Scene Queen mainly due to her sadistic humor, it gives her something to relate to knowing that someone can be just as unhinged as she can be. As for the others, it goes back to a reason like Sanemi's; those feelings of anger, guilt, frustration, and shame are often portrayed in their songs. She'll often listen to music when she's extremely angry or emotional, crying as she listens to the words she could never say herself.
Kyojuro Rengoku: Firstly let me just say this man is boisterous at best, in a good way of course. Rengoku is a man of character, always having something positive to say and never having a negative outlook on even the most stressful of situations. The majority of his morals and principles of respect being instilled by his mother at a young age. Despite his father being exceptionally cruel and apathetic towards him, Rengoku doesn't seem to let that get him down. I'd say it only serves as more motivation to do better, and he uses this motivation to help his brother Senjuro by believing in him and uplifting him no matter what. But despite his cheerful demeanor, he's actually rather intelligent and tactically skilled on the battlefield. Naturally he despises demons, like any other hashira. However that doesn't stop him from having good faith in Nezuko, accepting her as part of the slayer corps. after he realizes that she's not going to turn malicious. Therefore, I'd imagine that unlike his fellow hashiras, he'd listen to something more uplifting and positive much like Mitsuri. Artists like The Score, Imagine Dragons, and maybe even EDM artists like David Guetta and Steve Aoki. It's more than likely that he'd listen to music while doing solo training. It helps him focus, plus the uplifting lyrics of the songs help him look forward to the day ahead of him and those days afterwards. He'll even share his playlist with his tsuguko if they're having a hard time.
Tengen Uzui: Ah yes, this flashy flamboyant man had to be saved for last lol. However, his life wasn't all that flashy to begin with. Having grown up in a clan of Shinobi ninjas, he was always taught that the mission should be fulfilled above anything else, self preservation comes last. Basically, if you die, you die. After he married his wives, and was pitted against his siblings in masked death matches, which lead him to unknowingly killing two of his siblings. He got into a heated argument with his father over killing his siblings, and ultimately put his sword down and took his wives with him to pursue a life of their own design. And once he did, he vowed to always protect those he loves, and made his wives swear to put their lives first, then those of innocent civilians, and then finally himself. A nice recipe for a flashy life indeed, and for a flashy life and flashy man he obviously listens to the flashiest of playlists. I'd imagine that he'd listen to artists like Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Ke$ha, Rihanna, Beyonce, etc. Truth be told, it would probably be his wives that compiled the playlist. But he'd add on some Meghan Thee Stallion or Cardi B on there, just for some added bass. He just loves being carefree with his music, it didn't need to be anything serious. In his eyes, music is for enjoyment and if you can relate, well that's just an added bonus.
~ Hope you guys enjoyed! Lmk what you wanna see next

2014 KoreAm magazine photoshoot and cover story of John Cho.
John Cho Delights in Rom-Com Role in ABC’s ‘Selfie’
October 28, 2014
In the new ABC rom-com Selfie, John Cho goes where no Asian American actor has gone before.
story by ADA TSENG photography by JACK BLIZZARD
John Cho can’t stop raving about how he got to ride a horse for his new TV show Selfie.
“About a month ago, [creator] Emily [Kapnek] came to me and said, ‘We’re writing a storyline where you’re riding a horse. Can you ride a horse?’” remembers Cho. “And I said, ‘I can’t, but you have to keep that in. I’ll learn.’”
Turns out he only needed one lesson to gallantly ride a horse for a scene that’s a play on the familiar knight-inshining- armor trope.
“Apparently, I’m a natural,” he jokes. Why hasn’t anyone asked him to ride a horse before? “That’s a good question!” he says. “Now I get to put it on the resume as a special skill.”
Cho plays Henry to Karen Gillan’s Eliza in ABC’s new half-hour comedy Selfie, which premiered on September 30. The show borrows the premise of the 1964 musical My Fair Lady, based on the 1916 play Pygmalion, transplanting the characters from early-1900s’ status-obsessed England to 2014’s Internet-obsessed America. Selfie’s pilot introduces Eliza Dooley (a nod to Eliza Doolittle) as a social media star with millions of virtual friends but no actual friends. One day, after she is publicly humiliated by a boyfriend whom she didn’t realize was married, she sees a presentation by her co-worker Henry Higgs (shortened from Higgins), who is a talented marketing expert at their pharmaceutical company. He also happens to hate everything about the wired millennial generation. Convinced she needs to be rebranded, Eliza begs Henry to help her change her image.
Though the Henry character in the film, played by Rex Harrison, looks down on Audrey Hepburn’s Eliza, the Selfie team wanted to make sure their modern Henry was influenced by Eliza just as much as Eliza is “transformed” by him. Though Henry confidently takes on the challenge to make her into a less self-absorbed person, in the process, she also teaches him that all work and no play is no way to live a fulfilling life. (“What’s more irresistible than opposites being thrown together?” says Cho.) Their modern take is less about external behaviors — manners and proper elocution — and more about internal values: learning to empathize and live in the present, instead of being constantly glued to one’s smart phone.
Perhaps because My Fair Lady and Pygmalion take place in England, the character of Henry was originally envisioned as an older English man. However, when the casting directors were having challenges finding the right person for the role, Cho’s name was suggested. (“We looked at tons of different actors, and really, once we kind of opened our minds and said let’s get off of what we think Henry is supposed to be and just talk about who he is — we just need a brilliant actor — and John’s name came up,” Kapnek told The Toronto Star.)
And it turns out there was no reason the 21st-century Henry couldn’t be Korean American.
“John and I actually met at a table read for the first episode of Selfie,” remembers Gillan, well-known to audiences for her roles in Doctor Who and Guardians of the Galaxy. “So in essence, we met in character. As soon as John began to deliver Henry’s lines, everything came to life. He breathed life into the character, and through that, into my character, too. It was really exciting.”
But back to the horse. “The character of Henry has been taking horseriding lessons surreptitiously for three years on the chance that he’d be invited up to his boss’s ranch,” explains Cho. “And he’s frustrated because he’s trying to impress his boss, but he keeps getting thwarted and is unable to show off his equestrian prowess.” He pauses. “But the point of the story is that John Cho got to ride a horse!” He laughs. “In fact, I got a little too obsessed with the horse. I was probably not a good actor that day because I was too excited about the horse.”
For Cho, it was more than the fact that riding a horse was fun. As an Asian American actor in Hollywood — even a successful one whose almost twodecades-long career has spanned indie films (Shopping for Fangs, Better Luck Tomorrow), mainstream comedies (Harold & Kumar, American Pie) and sci-fi classics (Star Trek) — Cho says he doesn’t often get to participate in stories that involve what he calls “American mythology.” He feels that Asian Americans mostly get shut out of Hollywood stories depicting this country’s history, unless they’re Chinese railroad workers or launderers. He racks his brain, trying to think if he’s ever seen an Asian American guy ride a horse on TV before. Though he loves Westerns, he knows it’s unlikely he’d be cast in one.
But never say never. How likely was it that he would become this generation’s Henry Higgins?
At this year’s Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, as he was promoting the show, Cho called his casting as an Asian American male lead in a romantic comedy TV series “revolutionary,” a word he regrets using in retrospect. It was an offhand comment, but the media ran with it.
He’d rather point people’s attention to the fact that, during the panel, there were many questions about Scottish co-star Gillan having to speak in an American accent, but no questions about them as an interracial couple.
He was surprised, but relieved. Normally, he’d not only be prepared to talk about his race, but also have a strategy to steer away from it, so that his Asian-ness didn’t dominate the conversation, especially for a project like Selfie, which has a multicultural cast, but doesn’t harp on the characters’ ethnic backgrounds. There were only two Asian references in the pilot. The first was about how Henry’s eccentric boss Sam (played by Homeland’s David Harewood) thought it was OK to kiss Henry on the mouth as a greeting because he read an article on the web called “Kissing Koreans: Greenlight!” — which, because it was actually more of a joke about the boss’ inappropriate touching and the fact that the Internet is full of lies, could have easily been a “Kissing Europeans: Greenlight!” joke left over from when they envisioned Henry as British. The second, which eventually got cut and transplanted into a future script, had Henry insisting his friendship with Eliza is completely platonic and joking that a red-headed Korean would definitely make an ugly baby.
Selfie isn’t trying to comment on racial issues in America; it’s aiming to be a clever workplace comedy with a “will-they-or-won’t-they?” couple at the center of the hijinks. And from the outset, it seems like ABC is banking on their new show by Kapnek, who recently helmed the ABC comedy Suburgatory. Selfie advertisements seem to be everywhere, from eye-catching billboards along major freeways to the cover of the fall TV insert of Los Angeles magazine, to the top of the popular IMDB.com movie database homepage. It also says a great deal that Selfie was given the Tuesday 8 p.m. time slot, the only new ABC show that’s been tasked with leading the day’s prime-time block of programming.
In another marketing move, ABC released the pilot online over a month early to get the buzz going, a strategy that Cho thinks is related to the public’s initial ambivalence over the show’s title. “The word ‘selfie’ has so much baggage,” says Cho. “It’s provocative, which is why I liked it, but the word implies narcissism, so there was a disinclination to like the show. People had to be convinced it was a real show.”
But Cho doesn’t seem worried. “I think the work speaks for itself.”
The Selfie crew is gathered at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank on a Wednesday morning in September, using Cho and Gillan stand-ins to prepare for the first shot.
In the maze of different sets — the pharmaceutical offices, cubicles, hallway, bathroom and apartment spaces — the production team watching the monitors can’t necessarily see John Cho, but they can hear him. He’s belting out a song in the background before he gets ready to shoot his scene. Cho’s known for being goofy on set. While shooting the pilot, he had Gillan laughing whenever he pulled out his phone and blasted Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
Gillan and Cho’s onscreen chemistry is apparent, therefore the tension that arises from keeping their characters apart is irresistible. In the episode they’re shooting, Henry has started dating a very proper, clean-cut “gentlewoman,” as he calls her (a female version of himself played by actress Allison Miller), and Eliza, despite the fact that she has a boy toy of her own, seems to be a little jealous. She’s hurt that Henry didn’t tell her he was dating somebody. In his defense, it just happened 10 minutes ago, he says. But I tell you every single detail about my love life, she argues. A habit I’m desperately trying to break you of, he banters back.
There are certain images in television and movies that we see so often that they border on cliché — girl likes boy, boy likes girl, but they can’t admit it, so they bicker instead and somehow get stuck in the glistening rain together — yet minority actors who are usually relegated to supporting roles don’t often get to play these arcs.
“It’s funny,” says Cho. “I’ve had to do romantic scenes in my career” — he’s been paired with Paula Garces in the Harold & Kumar trilogy and Gabrielle Union in the 2009 ABC science-fiction drama FlashForward —“but by far, they’re the minority of the things that I do. But in life and in movies, I’ve seen it so many times. [Romantic scenes] are in almost everything! So I had a sense of how things should go, what the beats should be, and that’s not informed by what I’ve done as an actor, but what I’ve seen as a viewer. It was new and unfamiliar, but familiar at the same time.”
Back in 2009, in interviews promoting the release of Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Cho often talked about the fact that he thinks about the Asian American community with every role he chooses.
Five years later, does this pressure still weigh on him? “When I was first starting out, it was a lot of rejecting stuff,” he says. “Saying ‘I’m not going to do that sh-t, these ching-chongy roles, even though I had no place to be turning things down. In the middle part of my career, I became more aware that people were aware of me — Asian Americans in particular. And sometimes it almost felt like I was bullied, how burdened I was by what Asian Americans might think of me.”
Though Asian America may feel like we have a stake in his career, for better or worse, Cho says it sometimes feels like we have a disproportionate amount of influence on him. With the diverse fan base of both the Harold & Kumar and Star Trek franchises, he finds that the majority of fans that come up to him on the streets are not Asian.
“I’m trying to come at it from a more authentic place,” he says. “Selfie would be an example of me reading the script and thinking, ‘I don’t think I’ve seen an Asian guy in this particular kind of role.’ It personally touched a nerve, and I took delight in it.”
Another unique aspect of Selfie that Cho enjoys is the language, which he calls “a mix of old Hollywood screwball dialogue, meets arcane English, meets hashtag jargon.” In addition to snappy rhythms, rhymes and couplets mixed into the characters’ repartee, Eliza is constantly talking in a mix of LOLs, Internet lingo and pop culture references. (“At the beginning I made a decision Eliza would talk like she’s on a lot of coffee,” says Gillan. “Now I’m regretting that.”) Whereas Henry is more proper, referring to dating as “courting” and feeling the need to airquote Eliza’s suggestion that he needs to “get some,” emphasizing his distaste for casually lewd slang that comes out of his mouth so unnaturally.
“I’ve never had this kind of dialogue in my life,” says Cho, of this elevated language that’s often the domain of theater. “Henry sometimes feels like he was educated abroad, like at a Swiss boarding school.”
Though Cho may be less uptight than his character, he seems to share a similar crankiness about social media.
“Every minute I spend on Twitter feels like a waste of time emotionally,” he says, balking at the idea that increasing one’s Klout score in this day and age may actually be a smart career move. After all, even though Cho, and therefore his character, doesn’t look a day over 30, in real life, one could argue he, at 42, is at least one technological generation over the millennials who talk in OMGs while updating their Instagrams with overfiltered selfies.
The married father of two harkens back to the good ol’ days, when instead of judging quality through Facebook likes and retweets, good criticism was valued “in the way a poet can give voice to how much you love a woman.” He refers to Jonathan Franzen’s condemnation of Facebook as a private hall of flattering mirrors. He brings up Noam Chomsky’s media documentary Manufacturing Consent to explain how “it’s impossible to tell the truth in a two-minute news story, so you start at failure and end at worse failure. And I felt like Twitter was an extreme example of this.”
However, his involvement with Selfie has softened his stance against social media.
“I see young people who are very self-expressive in a way that I couldn’t have even grasped at that age,” says Cho. “I saw an Ariana Grande tweet, where she had typed out some emotions on her iPhone after her grandfather passed away, taken a picture of it, and tweeted it out to her followers. It was so fresh and emotional, a way of sharing a Polaroid of her state at that time. So maybe Twitter is proving me wrong.” He hesitates. “But I don’t know. I can’t go there. I’m a private person. Even interviews are an exercise in avoiding revealing anything about myself that’s real, and I dislike that these are the new rules of fame, that you must reveal more than you wish.”
So, now that he’s tweeting more, how has he reconciled his aversion to social media? “I haven’t,” he claims, though it seems like he’s found a strategy that works for him. Cho’s Twitter is filled with funny photos that seem to give fans a glimpse into his personal life, but if you look closer, he’s found a way to make jokes while still keeping his social media existence predominantly work-related. His profile photo of him in a beard and twirly mustache is from a Selfie promo that’s yet to air. A photo where he jokes that he’s styling K-pop hair is a wig he’s wearing on the set before it was styled properly. And there’s Gillan’s Ice Bucket Challenge video, where he makes a cameo as an official ice thrower dressed in a Red Power Ranger outfit—“Very important role,” jokes Gillan, “his best one to date” — and further highlights their onscreen appeal to the masses.
And, of course, there’s a Twitpic of Willow, the white steed.
“[John] actually was great with the horse,” Gillan confirms reluctantly. “I audibly gasped when I first saw him riding towards me. It was a sight to behold. But don’t tell him I said that.”

if you ever wanted to share genderfluid gene headcanons i would like to hear them 👀👀
Oh my gosh thank you 😭
I would absolutely love to share some Genderfluid headcanons about my baby boy!
--I like to think that when he's older and figured out his identity, his pronouns might be He/She/They :3 (idk, I just get that kind of vibe from him).
--This is basically canon already, but he adores dresses, way more than suits. He only ever tolerates wearing men's formal wear. Really, the only time he actually enjoyed wearing one was when he was playing Hans Gruber in Work Hard Or Die Trying, Girl. He definitely believes that dresses make women look more powerful than suits make men look more powerful. And he thinks they have so much more variety. He threw a fit once when Bob and Linda tried to make him wear a suit to a fancy event, and he didn't feel like tolerating masculinity/gender norms that night. So, they compromised, and he wore a fancy black shirt with a bowtie on top and a long black skirt. People stared, and most likely made fun in secret, but he was very happy.
--I stole this from your Genderfluid Gene fic, but whenever he's feeling dysphoric, Tina and Louise like to tell him he's a secret agent and has to go undercover and pretend to be a boy. It sounds silly, but it really helps him.
--This is honestly kind of ridiculous and silly, but I like to think that one of the earliest memories he had of questioning his gender was when he watched Dora the Explorer when he was really young and he just remembers wanting to be Dora so bad and solving them mysteries 😭 He begged Bob and Linda to let him be Dora that Halloween.
--The way he first figured out the label Genderfluid applied to him was he ended up reading one of Tina's erotic friend fictions that she left on her desk unsupervised one afternoon. She made one of the characters Genderfluid, and the gears just started turning in his brain, and he came to the sudden realization that he felt Genderfluid himself.
--His ultimate dream is to be cast in a female role for a musical. One of his dream roles is Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Another one is, of course, Anna of Cleves in Six.
--Whenever he feels Nonbinary, he likes to joke around and say that restrooms are a scam. But no matter what, he absolutely does not enjoy the men's restroom. He always says it's a warzone in there. He's probably never used a urinal in his life, and doesn't plan to. He enjoys stall privacy.
--He's definitely going to want to wear a wedding dress if/when he gets married, and he will look incredible that day. He also always begs to be a bridesmaid/maid of honor whenever he gets invited to someone else's wedding.
--One of the only traditionally masculine things he enjoys is maybe baseball if you could even call that traditionally masculine. He hates playing catch with the ball itself (we all know how playing catch with Bob went) but he really enjoys playing the actual game. He can get quite competitive, especially if he's playing with Tina and Louise.
--Another small, silly thing, but he switches things with Louise all of the time. A canon example is when they switched the bowler hat and flapper feather with each other (very adorable moment). Whenever anyone hands Gene a traditional "boy" thing and Louise a traditional "girl" thing, like colored balloons or anything else of the sort, they always swap, because screw gender norms. It always makes them feel very affirmed. After a while, certain people they know began catching on and giving them gifts they'd prefer more, but most of the time people still get it wrong.
--Building on the above headcanon, one time, an ice cream shop worker accidentally gave him bright pink, cotton candy ice cream, and he deemed it the best dessert moment he's ever had. He even convinced the worker to top it with pink M&Ms.
--Another thing I stole from your Genderfluid Gene fic, but he definitely goes to Tammy for fashion advice after she's warmed up to him somewhat. She even agreed to braid a strand of his hair once, and in return, he helped her paint her nails (he picked up the skill by helping Tina do hers on occasion).
--His favorite show when he was really young was Sofia the First, because of that one episode where they challenged gender roles and gender norms.

The Marrons
Once they were done unpacking the luggage from the car, the group followed Rudi to Yamuna and Tamara’s chalet, where Rudi’s family was also gonna reside for the time of the vacation. So might as well present the ol’ relatives to their friends.
Rudi: Ok guys, promise me you won’t embarrass me? Like, I 100% support being a weirdo, but I mean don’t say shit like puta madre in front of my mom or something. It is not true it means beautiful in Spanish, I lied. Daniele: Rudi, nobody believed you one bit when you said that.
The group went inside, where a plump, middle aged woman with grey streaks in her wavy hair greeted them.
Rudi: Here’s my mom, her name is Guadalupe. Kino: Hello Misses Marron. Lupe: Oh please, you can just call me Lupe. It’s fine. Rudi: Where’s everybody else? Lupe: Your sister is upstair, and your brother is outside with your dad.
And so they went upstair, where they found a blonde teenage girl laying around on the couch, looking obviously bored.
Rudi: Ok so this is my sister, Ulrike. Ulrike, say hi to my friends. Ulrike: ...Hi... Rudi: Damn, can you at least try to fake being happy? Ulrike: No ok, it fucking sucks. I wanted to spend my 18th birthday in Puerto Rico with my friends, but nooooo. Cause I’m not an adult yet then that means mom can force me to spend it instead in bumfuck nowhere on that stupid Canadian island. At least we got wifi. Audrey: Should we tell her Nova Scotia is not an island? Rudi: Whatever, let’s go outside, I ain’t dealing with a teenager today.
Yeah, that’s the thing. Weirdly enough, Ulrike shares a birthday with Tamara, July 7th, obviously not of the same year. Which is why the Marrons got invited to their yearly vacation to Nova Scotia. As she was turning 50 that year, Tamara wnated to make this summer extra special. But then, Lupe decided to force Ulrike to come cause come on, she’s not missing her daughter’s 18th birthday.
And so the group followed Rudi outside, where indeed, their little brother and their step-father was.
Rudi: The little 12 years old dweeb with a skateboard over there is my brother Conan, and the older dude is Sandalio, my mom’s husband. Conan: Hey! Matteo: I thought your dad was dead. That’s like, a pretty major thing that happened...That’s like the only thing I knew about your family prior to today. Rudi: Yeah, I said he’s my mom’s husband, not my dad. I mean, no offense to him, but my mom and him got married when I was 18, so I just cannot really bring myself to call him my dead. Especially since I was like, 15 when my actual dad died. But I also accepted to take his surname in exchange of him paying for my legal name change so now I’m legally Rudder Lopez Marron, but I don’t use it cause like...He’s not the one who came inside my mom...I mean he might have but if he did, it did not result in my conception. Dawud: I am begging you to stop talking. Daniele: Then what’s your actual surn- Sandalio: Hi Rudi, what were you telling your friends? Rudi: Uh...How mom is such a cougar for marrying you. Like, you’re such a young guy it’s disgusting. Sandalio: Haha...Don’t listen to them, I’m only five years younger than Lupita, and at our age it’s not really weird of an age gap. Rudi: I know, I know. I’m just kidding. Mom has always been into younger guy anyway, like my dad was also younger than her, but only by a year. That’s her little #girlbossfeminist trait. Sandalio: ....What?
Alright, while they worried about their friends embarrassing them in front of their family, turns out the most embarrassing person here is actually Rudi themself!
