DP X DC Prompt: They Had It Comin'

The city of Amity Park has been under a shroud for who knows how long. Every call for help bad been blocked and unable to reach the Justice League until one day they get a single call. A teenage boy with a temper that simply said.

"Amity Park handled it."

They had no idea what 'it' was but the last thing any of them expected was to find out that an entire government sector stationed within Amity Park was wiped out over night. Over sixty agents were killed, every bit of data the company had deleted and the building collapsed.

When the Justice League arrives to investigate the claims everybody has the same story. From the youngest to the oldest, every person they come across says the same.

"They had it coming."

"I didn't do it! But if I'd done it, how could you tell me that I was wrong."

It was clearly practiced but for the entire city to be on the same page made them worry about potential brainwashing or mind control. Neither of which they had any evidence for. It isn't until they talk to one specific teenager that they finally get a different story.

"Maybe instead of looking into what happened to them you should be asking what the hell did they do?" Before the teen promptly shoved a USB into Batman's hand and walked away.

A (slightly angsty) domestic zukka hc I’ve been thinking abt a lot: I think Zuko would have a sort of knee-jerk flinching reaction when anybody touches his scar (with katara he looks like he’s bracing himself and with mai his whole upper body is sort of being held in place by her) (which i definitely think mai did on purpose to make him feel more comfortable but anyways) I think Sokka would after the first time figure out Zuko flinches hard even when he sees it coming and he’s The Plan Guy so I think he would secretly experiment and find out Zuko doesn’t flinch when sokka drags his hand from a different part of him (like his hair) onto his face. So he just starts doing that and it takes Zuko a stupid long amount of time to realize “hey Sokka touches my face a lot and it doesn’t suck. I wonder why🤨” until one day he figures it out like Sokka you sneaky shit you were nice to me and I didn’t notice

Bc the whole “zuko lets Sokka touch his scar bc he trusts him and he’s super normal abt it” is nice but it doesn’t feel realistic? You can trust someone a whole lot and still have instinctive trauma reactions. I think it’s much sweeter if Sokka notices and figures out a way to make it better without being asked.

To put it in perspective, I know Rodrick is the drummer but I think given the chance he’d scream this song at the top of his lungs just like bill.

In here, Drew is worried, and so is bill but he knows he’s deflecting so he’s… upset. As one would be. Rodrick just doesn’t know how to talk about this, so he bottles it up and shoots it into music, (#me!!!!!)

That is definitely something I haven’t seen before, and it’s a very intriguing concept! As an Ace girly myself, I don’t see a lot of ace MC’s, but to be fair— I haven’t written one myself either! Aro’s seem to be even more uncommon, unfortunately :(

It would definitely be a more cutesy story, at least at the start— and would probably have a lot less miscommunications between characters lol. (And the characters would actually get along—)

I myself love the drama and the angst, just as much, if not more then I love the fluff. Hurt/Comfort and Enemies To Lovers is my absolute jam. Miscommunication is like crack to me— I love the angst. All of my fics have varying levels of angst that range from mild peril to character death. Every single one of my characters has major issues :\ (I am not nice to them 😔)

Will they eventually get their happy endings? Absolutely! But I’m gonna put them through hell before then! ;P

So while that’s not the direction my story will be going, I’d absolutely love to read one with that concept!! The yandere/obsession trope isn’t something I’m typically a fan of, but I’ve been trying to broaden my horizon’s recently. Both in what I read, and what I write.

The paper landed on the floor, as Soda ran and grabbed Steve this time— considering he had no Two-Bit to protect him now.

“Soda, y'know that you can just not answer the questions, right?”

“Well how was I supposed to know that Johnny and Dally's ghosts would be playin' my ass through cryptic messages in my tip jar?!!” Soda whined, hiding behind Steve this time. He was pushing Steve towards the paper. “You throw it away! I ain't messin' with it! No way, No siree!”

“You pulled it out of the damn jar! Don't go crying now, you did this to yerself!” Steve turned to face Soda, grabbin g him by the shoulders and forcing him to be in front now. Soda merely shrunk down, his knees locking up and his body collapsing.

Steve groans, leaning down and staring at Soda. “Get up, will ya?”

“Mm-mmh!” Soda shakes his head, before ducking into his crossed arms and raised knees.

Steve sighs, stepping over the fallen Soda and pricks up the piece of paper.

“Okay. I got it. Will you cool now, please?”

“I'm savvy.” Soda mumbled, looking up at Steve with an appreciative smile.

Steve smiles back, before walking off and going to throw the paper away. Before he does though, he writes back without Soda noticing.

Quit messin'. He simply writes.

And then he goes back to Soda, helping the blonde off the floor and dusting his legs off. The two share a quick mumbled conversation before Steve pats Soda's shoulders lovingly and goes back to working.
