dear americans,
as a polish queer woman and human rights activist, i know exactly how you're feeling right now and what to expect from these elections. i lived through the 2015-2023 regime of pis, a right-wing populist party that divided families in the same way trump did. iâve experienced the rise of fascism in poland, the influence of far-right parties like konfederacja, and their âsantaâs little helpersââordo iuris, an ultra-conservative catholic organization (banned in many countries, mind you) that helped enforce a near-total abortion ban and runs anti-queer campaigns in public spaces. i supported the black protests in 2016 as a middle schooler when they first tried to ban abortion. as an adult, i actively participated in the 2020 womenâs strike, running from police tear gas daily after they finally passed the ban. i supported friends who faced charges.
iâve lived through intense homophobia in poland as a queer teen and adult. i survived the first pride march in my hometown, where far-right extremists threw stones and glass at us. i endured the anti-queer propaganda spread by the ruling party in state-owned media. i survived the ârainbow night,â polandâs own stonewall moment in summer 2020, when police arrested around 50 queer activists following the arrest of margo, a nonbinary activist. i survived the "lgbt-free zones," the targeted violence, the slurs from strangers on the street, and the protests i held against queerphobia. it was hard as fuck, but i survived.
but just because i survived, it doesnât mean others did. many women died because of the abortion banâmarta, justyna, izabela, dorota, joanna, maria, and many others who didnât survive pisâs draconian anti-abortion laws. milo, kacper, michaĆ, zuzia (she was 12), wiktor, and other queer and trans kids and young adults took their own lives because of the relentless queerphobia.
despite all of this, our experience in poland can serve as a guide now. here are some tips for staying safe and how we, polish queers and women, organized under the regime:
safety first, always. if you know someone whoâs had an abortion, no you donât. if you know someone is trans, no you donât. if you know people who help with safe abortions, no you donâtâat least not until you know itâs 100% safe to share. if you are queer or have had an abortion, only share this with people you trust fully. most importantly, not everyone has to be an activist just because theyâre part of a minority. if it feels unsafe to share that you're queer, trans, etc., then donât. it doesnât make you any less queer.
use secure, encrypted messaging like signal for conversations on potentially risky topics, such as queerness, abortion, organizing counter-actions, protestsâanything that might be used against you.
stay anonymous online. if you want to research or report something without surveillance, do not use regular internet. get a vpn (mullvad is affordable and reliable), download the tor browser (for both onion and standard links), and if you plan to whistleblow, consider using a riseup email account.
organize and build networks. community is everything now. support each other, foster independence, because your government wonât have your back. set up collectives, grassroots movements. create lists of trusted professionalsâlawyers, doctors, etc.âwho can offer support.
to lawyers and doctors: please consider pro-bono work. this is what got us through polandâs hardest times. your work will be needed now more than ever.
for protests or risky actions: always write a pro-bono lawyerâs number on your arm with a permanent marker.
get to know the anarchist black cross federation and other resources on safety culture: "Starting an anarchist black cross group: A guide"; Still We Rise - A resource pack for transgender and non-gender conforming people in prison; Safe OUTside the system by the Audre Lorde Project;
for safe abortion info or involvement: get familiar with womenhelpwomen.
stay radical, stay strong, stay informed: The Anarchist Library
if i forgot to (or didn't) include something, don't hesitate to reblog this post with other resources.

The sun was just beginning to peek through the curtains, spilling soft, golden light across the room. Lando lay stretched out, one arm slung across the mattress, while you were curled up beside him, close enough to feel the steady rhythm of his breathing. Between you, cradled in a little cocoon of blankets, was your brotherâs baby boy, whose eyelids fluttered softly in the early morning light.
Your brother had asked if you and Lando could babysit his little one for the day while he and his wife went out for the first real date they'd had in months. You had barely been able to answer before Lando was nodding enthusiastically, the prospect of a baby-filled day surprisingly welcome. And now, here you wereâstill half-asleep, all three of you wrapped in a cozy little pile on the bed.
âDid I ever mention,â Lando whispered, his voice still laced with sleep, âthat you look ridiculously cute with a baby in your arms?â
You cracked one eye open and met his gaze, fighting off a drowsy grin. âI think you mentioned it once or twice. Maybe.â
Landoâs fingers lightly traced circles along your arm as he shifted his gaze back to the tiny, slumbering face nestled between you. âHeâs actually quite peaceful,â he murmured with a smile, âfor a little guy who woke up every two hours last night.â
âHe has been a little handful,â you admitted, biting back a yawn as you watched the baby stir slightly, one chubby hand curling into a tiny fist.
âBut,â Lando added, his voice softening as he adjusted the blankets around the baby, âI kinda get why your brother adores him so much.â He looked up at you, his eyes warm, a mischievous glint lighting up his tired smile. âThough I have to say, I think he looks cuter in my arms.â
âOh, really?â you teased, rolling over to prop yourself up on an elbow and raising a playful eyebrow. âI think heâd say otherwise.â
Lando laughed quietly, his eyes gleaming. âCare to make a wager on that?â
You snorted, gently nudging him. âAs if heâs going to pick sides.â
âWell, I think heâs got good taste,â Lando replied, feigning a cocky smirk. âHe already knows Iâm the fun one.â
You couldnât help but laugh, careful not to wake the baby. âIâd hate to break it to you, but Iâm pretty sure Iâm his favorite.â
Landoâs eyes twinkled, and he leaned a little closer, lowering his voice to a murmur. âFine. But Iâm your favorite, right?â
Rolling your eyes, you swatted him lightly, but you couldnât stop the smile that tugged at your lips. âIf you keep your voice down and donât wake him up, you just might be.â
A soft chuckle escaped him, and he brushed a strand of hair from your face. âYou drive a hard bargain.â
For a few minutes, you just lay there, letting the quiet settle over the room, feeling Landoâs hand gently tracing up and down your arm, your heart warm with the weight of everything familiar and right. The baby stirred every now and then, tiny hands reaching for your fingers, which you offered gladly. Every so often, heâd grasp one of Landoâs fingers, his little face creasing in what looked like the beginnings of a smile.
Lando watched him with a look youâd rarely seen, an expression caught somewhere between awe and contentment. He caught your gaze and offered a sheepish grin. âI think I could get used to this.â
You raised an eyebrow. âOh?â
âYeah,â he said softly, glancing back down at the baby. âI mean, lazy mornings like thisâŠwith you, and maybe even a little one of our own someday.â He gave a small shrug, his cheeks just a little pink. âJust thinking out loud, you know.â
The thought made your heart skip a beat, and you couldnât help but smile as you reached out, taking his hand and giving it a squeeze. âMaybe someday,â you murmured, your heart swelling at the idea of more mornings just like this.
Lando looked at you with such warmth in his eyes, a gentleness that felt like sunlight. âYeah, someday,â he whispered back, his thumb rubbing small, soothing circles on your hand.
The baby let out a little sigh, his mouth forming a perfect âOâ as he squirmed a bit before settling back down, his breathing soft and even. Lando chuckled, pulling you closer so you were nestled against him, your head on his chest as his fingers brushed up and down your back in gentle strokes.
âI think we wore him out,â you murmured, watching the babyâs peaceful face.
âOr maybe he wore us out,â Lando replied, stifling a yawn.
âTrue,â you admitted, stifling a laugh. âBut I donât mind.â
âNeither do I,â Lando whispered, his voice so soft you could almost believe he was already half-asleep.
With your eyes drifting shut, the morning seemed to stretch on forever, warm and unhurried, filled with a quiet joy that made you want to hold onto every second. You could feel Landoâs heartbeat beneath you, steady and sure, a gentle reminder that this was real. That he was real.
After a few minutes, you felt his fingers brush against your cheek, his touch light and lingering, just enough to make you open your eyes and meet his gaze. He was smiling at you, a slow, tender smile that sent your heart racing all over again.
âHey,â he murmured softly, just barely above a whisper.
âHey yourself,â you whispered back, grinning.
Lando leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. âJust so you know,â he murmured, his lips brushing against your skin, âIâm pretty sure this is the best morning ever.â
And as you lay there, wrapped up in him and in the cozy warmth of your little family-in-the-making, you couldnât help but think he might be right.
-
As the morning continued to unfold, the soft sounds of the babyâs breathing mixed with the occasional rustle of the sheets as you and Lando shifted to make yourselves comfortable. The sun climbed higher in the sky, filling the room with a warmth that was both cozy and invigorating.
Landoâs gaze drifted back to the baby, who had finally settled into a deeper sleep. âYou know,â he said, his voice still low and sleepy, âI never thought Iâd enjoy babysitting as much as I do right now.â
You chuckled softly, brushing your fingers through the babyâs soft hair. âI guess itâs different when youâre with someone who makes everything feel like an adventure.â
âExactly,â Lando replied, his eyes sparkling with mischief. âAnd I think I could handle a little adventure with a baby.â He shifted slightly, reaching out to tickle the babyâs tiny foot, eliciting a small, involuntary kick. âSee? Iâm a natural!â
You laughed, shaking your head in disbelief. âA natural? Youâre just lucky heâs too young to complain about your dad jokes.â
âHey, my dad jokes are legendary!â Lando protested, but there was no real bite to his words. His laughter mingled with yours, filling the room with an infectious joy that made your heart swell.
The lazy morning drifted on, the three of you wrapped in a cocoon of warmth and comfort. You eventually found your way back to each other, resting against Lando as he softly hummed a tune under his breath. It was a familiar song that had been playing in the background during countless evenings together, and it filled you with a sense of nostalgia.
âDo you remember the first time we tried babysitting?â you asked, your voice soft as you recalled the chaotic but hilarious day filled with spilled snacks and a wailing baby.
âHow could I forget?â Lando replied, chuckling. âYou practically had a meltdown when he wouldnât stop crying, and I was trying to convince you that it was just a phase.â
âIt was more than just a phase!â you countered playfully. âThat baby had some serious lungs.â
âBut you handled it like a champ,â he said, his tone turning earnest. âI knew right then that you were going to be an amazing mom someday.â
The words hung in the air, weighty and filled with meaning. You felt your cheeks flush, warmth spreading through you at his compliment. âYou think so?â
âDefinitely,â he affirmed, looking at you with an intensity that made your heart race. âYou have this natural way with him. I can just picture itâus, in the future, juggling a couple of little ones, surrounded by laughter and chaos.â
You smiled, imagining the scene. The thought was both exhilarating and terrifying, but more than anything, it filled you with a sense of hope. âThat would be quite the adventure.â
âExactly! Just imagine all the little personalities,â Lando said, his excitement palpable. âAnd the races! I can see it nowâwhoever can crawl the fastest to the toy chest wins!â
You giggled, shaking your head at the image of tiny feet scurrying across the floor, driven by the competitive spirit of their father. âTheyâll probably inherit your need for speed.â
Lando pretended to be offended, clutching his heart dramatically. âHow dare you! I think Iâm quite well-rounded.â
âSure,â you teased, leaning closer to him. âA little too well-rounded sometimes, if you catch my drift.â
Lando feigned indignation, his eyes widening comically. âYouâre saying Iâm lazy?â
You grinned, nudging him playfully. âNot lazy, just⊠well, strategically conserving energy.â
âStrategically conserving energy, huh?â he replied, laughter bubbling up in his chest. âIâll accept that.â
Just then, the baby began to stir again, letting out a soft coo as he blinked his eyes open. Landoâs attention immediately shifted to him, his expression transforming into one of pure adoration. âHey there, buddy!â he said softly, leaning in closer to the baby. âDid we wake you?â
The baby responded with a wide yawn, stretching his tiny limbs and squirming a little. You exchanged amused glances with Lando, both of you enchanted by the little oneâs antics.
âLooks like heâs ready for some fun,â Lando said, scooting back against the headboard and inviting you to join him. You moved carefully, bringing the baby up to sit between you, cradled by your arms.
As you settled in, Lando began to make silly faces, exaggerating his expressions until the baby let out a delighted squeal. âSee? He thinks Iâm hilarious!â Lando beamed, puffing up his chest as if he had just performed a great feat.
âMaybe he just thinks you look funny,â you retorted playfully, but your heart melted at the sight of Lando completely engaged, his laughter ringing through the room.
You spent the next little while playing with the baby, taking turns making silly noises and watching as he responded with giggles and bright smiles. Each time he let out a laugh, Landoâs face lit up with pure joy, and you couldnât help but feel the warmth spreading through your chest.
After a while, the baby grew sleepy again, his eyelids drooping as he nestled back against your chest. You gently rocked him, humming a soft lullaby that came to mind. Lando leaned against you, his fingers brushing against your arm as he watched the scene unfold.
âLook at you,â he murmured, his voice a low whisper. âYouâre going to be an incredible mom.â
You felt the warmth bloom in your cheeks, your heart racing at his words. âYou really think so?â
âAbsolutely,â he replied, his gaze steady. âYou have this amazing ability to make everything feel safe and loved. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a mom.â
âLandoâŠâ you said, your voice trembling slightly as you struggled to keep the emotion at bay. âYou make it sound so easy.â
âIt is easy,â he said, a hint of seriousness creeping into his tone. âWhen you love someone, itâs easy to give everything for them.â He paused, his gaze shifting to the baby, who was now peacefully asleep in your arms. âAnd I canât think of anyone Iâd rather share that with.â
Your heart swelled at his words, the sincerity in his voice leaving you breathless. In that moment, wrapped up in a blanket with Lando and the baby, you felt a surge of hope for the future, an understanding that thisâthis little family you had formedâwas just the beginning.
âThank you,â you whispered, feeling a rush of affection for him.
âAnytime,â he replied, leaning over to place a soft kiss on your cheek. âNow, letâs see if we can keep this little one asleep for a little longer. I could use a few more minutes of lazy morning bliss with you.â
You smiled, your heart full as you both settled in, cocooned in warmth and love. Time slipped away, and the world outside faded as you enjoyed the simplicity of the momentâthe laughter, the joy, and the shared dreams for a future that felt brighter than ever.
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, casting a gentle glow over the room, you felt that today was a day to remember. A day that promised adventure, laughter, and the sweet joy of simply being together. With Lando by your side, and a tiny bundle of joy nestled between you, you couldnât help but feel that the best was yet to come.
The morning stretched on like the most beautiful dream, and for now, everything felt perfect.

âWanna come over?â you ask, your voice casual but your eyes lingering on Rafeâs profile, gauging his reaction. He turns his head to you briefly, pausing as the car idles at a red light. Without missing a beat, he reaches over, taking your hand and intertwining his fingers with yours, rubbing his thumb gently across your skin in a way that makes your heart flutter.
But tonight, his words hit you before the warmth of his touch does. âI canât. Sofia wants to go out later,â he says, his gaze flickering back to the road, oblivious to how your expression shifts instantly. The mention of her name is like a slap, and your expression falters instantly. You let out a scoff, the sound sharp and almost bitter.
Without thinking, you pull your hand out of his grasp and cross your arms over your chest, turning your gaze out the window. The hurt and jealousy youâve been pushing down surge to the surface, making your chest tighten.âSheâs still living with you?â The words leave your mouth more accusatory than you intend, but it doesnât matter now.
You need him to feel what youâre feeling, to understand just how much Sofia is getting under your skin. Rafeâs eyes flicker to you, his brow furrowing slightly, but he doesnât say anything right away. He rolls his tongue against his cheek, his gaze narrowing as he presses down on the gas pedal when the light turns green. You can tell heâs frustrated, but you want him to feel more than that.
âY/nâŠâ he says, the soft plea in his voice making you grit your teeth. Heâs clearly trying to de-escalate the situation, but youâre not having it. His voice falters slightly when he says your name again, as if heâs unsure of how to handle you when you get like this. You donât respond, eyes fixed on the road, even though you donât see anything.
Your mind is consumed by the thought of Sofia still lingering in his life. âI donât understand why youâre still with her!â you snap, turning to face him, your voice sharp with frustration. Your heart races, and you know exactly where this is going. Youâve been waiting for the right moment to make your move. Then, with a practiced vulnerability, you let your eyes soften, allowing tears to well up.
You turn your head slightly toward him, making sure he sees the hurt in your eyes. You know the exact tone to use, the one that cracks just enough for Rafe to feel guilty, to feel like heâs let you down. You draw in a deep, shaky breath, letting your eyes glisten with tears. With a careful tremor in your voice, you speak softly, like youâre letting out something painful. âAfter everything she did to meâŠâ
Just as you anticipated, Rafeâs head snaps in your direction, confusion and concern filling his expression. His eyes dart between you and the road, brow furrowing as he tries to process your words. âWhat are you talking about?â You let the tears begin to fall, looking down as though ashamed, your shoulders subtly shaking as you pretend to hold back sobs.
âWhat did she do to you?â His eyes flickered back and forth from the road to your tear-streaked face, searching for answers. He was desperate, each glance showing his growing frustration and need to understand. âY/nâŠâ he said, his voice lower now, tinged with an edge of anger that made you shiver. âTell meâwhat did Sofia do to you?â
His tone was a mix of urgency and something fiercer, like he was barely holding himself back. You continued to sob, letting your shoulders shake as you turned away, keeping up the act. Rafeâs jaw clenched, his patience wearing thin as he stared ahead, but his entire focus was on you.
~
âHey babe, whatâs up?â Sofiaâs voice rings out, saccharine sweet, and it instantly makes you cringe. The way she says it, as if sheâs trying to mask something, makes your skin crawl. Rafeâs eyes flicker over to you for a split second, taking in your tear-streaked cheeks, red from how much youâve cried.
Your heart races, a cold pit settling in your stomach. Youâve made sure Rafe is in the right headspace, pushed all the right emotional buttons, and now itâs time to watch it unravel. Rafeâs grip on the steering wheel tightens as he presses the phone to his ear, his expression hardening into something unreadable.
The silence that stretches between him and Sofia is palpable. You can feel the tension in the air, the unease settling like a storm cloud. âRafe⊠whatâs wrong?â she coos, trying to soften the tension. You can tell sheâs trying to maintain control, but you know itâs slipping. But Rafe is done. Heâs had enough.
âIs it true? Is it true what Y/n just told me?â he demands, his voice suddenly low, razor-sharp. The words are a punch, sharp and deliberate, leaving no room for misunderstanding. Thereâs a long pause, a dangerous silence on the other end. You can hear Sofiaâs shallow breathing, the way sheâs stalling, trying to figure out how to save herself.
Itâs almost like sheâs trying to put on a mask for him, pretending everythingâs fine, but you both know itâs not. Sofiaâs mind races, the memories of her deal with Hollis flooding in through her mind. âIs what true?â she finally asks, her voice faltering, a hint of nervousness breaking through her usual façade. âDonât play games with me, Sofia,â Rafeâs voice is firm now, his jaw clenched.
You can feel the weight of his anger simmering just beneath the surface, ready to burst. You watch Rafe closely, your chest tight with both anxiety and satisfaction. This is what you wanted. You wanted him to finally see her for what she truly is. And now, itâs all about to come crashing down for Sofia.
On the other end of the line, Sofiaâs silence is deafening. You can almost hear her panic, her inability to talk her way out of this one. Rafeâs anger is too much, too raw. And itâs all aimed at her. Rafe canât contain it anymore. He slams his fist against the steering wheel with a deafening sound, making you jump in your seat.
The force behind it makes the entire car shake, and his anger is now fully unleashed. His knuckles are white, his body tense with fury, and for a moment, you think he might explode. You can see the muscle in his jaw working, his anger mounting as he struggles to keep his cool. The tension in the air is suffocating, and you almost feel bad for Sofiaâalmost.
You got him hereâyouâve got him angry at her, and itâs exactly what you wanted. âPack your shit. Get out of my house,â Rafe says through gritted teeth, the words biting and final. His voice is low, full of rage that you can feel in the pit of your stomach. Sofiaâs voice cracks on the other end. âWhat?â Her voice wavers, like she canât believe whatâs happening.
You can practically hear her trying to regain control, but itâs too late. Rafe scoffs, his patience wearing thin. âWeâre done, Sofia. Done.â he seethes, his hand slamming against the wheel again with a force that makes the whole car jerk. You jump slightly, but you canât help the small, satisfied smirk that pulls at the corners of your lips.
âPack your shit and get the fuck out of my house,â Rafe repeats, his voice steady now, but laced with disgust. Thereâs no room for negotiation, no chance of a second chance. This is it. With one last frustrated breath, he ends the call, the click of the phone punctuating the finality of it all.

brain empty only thought - TF141 are all dancers for magic mike in london and give their stage manager a private show
I love your brain anon đ© taking free liberties with whatever a show manager does here fyi lol but i also tried to watch an actual magic mike show but i turned into a blushing mess and had to stop halfway. Fair warning tho, iâve never written anything quite like this đ all of this is safe, sane and consensual
You are such a good stage manager to them, though, always ensuring everyone is on the same page, communications are going well, all props are set and the most important thing in your opinion; all the dancers are doing well. You always make sure there are plenty of drinks, theyâre well-slept and ready and-
You do so much for them, such a good stage manager. Itâs only right that they spoil you with a private show all carered to you, in a private room where they make you sit down on chair placed right in the middle.
Have you seen this choreography before? Yes. Are you in any shape or way ready to have Kyle kneel in front of you on one knee, gazing up at you like you are star, and spread your thighs open so he can nuzzle his face right between your tights? You arenât.
âSmell so fuckinâ good, pretty.â Gaz mumbles, groaning low against your skin.
Your face is flaming red, feeling him kiss the soft pudge of your thighs before he slides up with a wink so Johnny takes place on your lap, leather jeans tight on his ass and bulge. He takes your hovering hands, and places them on his thighs while he grinds against you, hips pressing together.
You can barely bite your noises back, clenching your thighs shut.
âNo staying silent, bonnie,â he croons, thumb rubbing your lips. You hadnât even realized your mouth was slack and open until he pushes his thumb in for a few seconds, and you obediently, impulsively, suck on it. His eyes darken, and he leans to kiss the corner of your lips, hovering over your lap. âGood girl.â
It takes everything in you not to whine out loud, drenched between your thighs.
When he moves off with another kiss, itâs Ghost who kneels in front of her, the music slower now, deeper. He takes her hands, kissing her palms through his mask and guiding her hands to the buttons of his silk button-up that bared his defined collarbones already, scarred skin glowing the more you reveal of him.
God, you want to bite him so badly.
âLook at me, doll.â He orders, and you so easily obey you can see the crinkle in his mask. Like a snake, Ghost twists his body so his back is across your knees, shoulders and head on your lap, peering up at you with his legs spread and holding his body up.
âSi-â you whine at last, resolve breaking. He pulls your hands down his shoulders, and you take the hint by caressing his pecs, his abs, the strong muscles taut under your exploring hands. Feeling just a little bold and knowing he doesnât mind, your fingers tease along his belt.
âHeâs so fucking handsome, isnât he?â Captain Price croons behind you, big hands settling on your shoulders, dipping into your blouse to toy with your bra straps. âAll my boys are. But youâre our girl, arenât you? Our pretty, beautiful girl, always working so hard for us. My boys adore you, sugar.â
Your mouth dries up, staring up at him, hands still on Ghost. âIâŠâ
âNo words needed, doll.â he scoffs, smug the way only a man who knows how easily he can command a room can be. His hands leave your skin and before you can pout, heâs reaching under your thighs to carefully pull you up while still being mindful of Simon. He sits in your chair, you on his lap and Ghost still under your touch. âLet us spoil you, yeah?â
And who are you to even think about saying no to such a beautiful, tempting offer?

same book, different chapters
synopsis: an ordinary evening takes a turn when katsuki expresses what you've always known but never expected to hear.
pairing: timeskip!bakugou katsuki x f!reader
being with katsuki is a lesson in unspoken understanding. you knew who he is long before you started dating himâloud, brash, and not the type to share his feelings openly.
but it didnât take long to realize thereâs so much more to him than that. his love is quiet, reserved, and shown in the details:
how he pulls you out of the way of a passing car, or how he remembers the smallest things, like your favorite kind of tea or that you prefer your coffee without sugar.
and that is enough for you. mostly.
you didnât expect him to be the kind of boyfriend who says "I love you" with ease. katsuki isnât like that. it isnât something you hold against him either.
but every now and then, a small part of you wonders what it would be like to hear him say itâto hear those three words slip past his lips in the same way they had from yours.
you say it first, a quiet âI love youâ in the middle of a peaceful night when the world outside feels still.
his response comes in the shape of hugging you tighter, securing you in his arms. however, he doesnât say it back, and you donât expect him to. you donât need him to.
still, there are times when you find yourself holding your breath, wondering if one day heâll actually verbalize it.
it isnât that you doubt his feelings. katsuki isnât one to waste time on things or people he doesnât care about.
you know how much he cares by the way he silently takes care of you, always putting you first in his own way, even when his words are rough around the edges.
itâs just that sometimes, words have a way of making things feel more real.
tonight is one of those easy evenings you cherishâone where you donât have to think too much about anything. the two of you are in your kitchen, making dinner together, though âtogetherâ is generous.
youâre doing most of the work while katsuki stands next to you, arms crossed, casting a critical eye over everything you do.
âyouâre putting too much salt,â he says, the frown on his face making you smile.
âpretty sure this is the exact amount the recipe says to use,â you reply, amused at how serious he always gets when it comes to food.
âtch, that recipeâs wrong. I couldâve made this better with my eyes closed.â
âthen why donât you?â you tease, turning your head to glance at him. his gaze is sharp as usual, but the small curve in the corner of his lips betrays him.
âmaybe Iâll cook next time,â he grumbles, looking away like the very idea of giving in bothers him.
you laugh softly, enjoying the banter. this is something you love about himâhow even in these simple moments, his presence fills the space with a sense of ease.
thereâs no pressure to be anything other than yourselves, even when his blunt honesty clashes with your more relaxed approach.
as you stir the pot, you canât help but let your thoughts wander back to the three words. you know katsuki isnât the type to say things until heâs ready, and you respect that.
but part of you is curiousâwould it ever come naturally to him, or would it always be something unspoken between the two of you?
still, as you stand there, the warmth of his steady presence beside you, you realize that maybe youâre okay with it remaining unspoken. katsuki shows his love in ways that donât need words to validate them.
and then, without warning, you feel his arms wrap around your waist from behind, his chin resting on your shoulder. you freeze for a moment, caught off-guard.
âkatsuki?â you ask, your voice soft, as you lean into him instinctively.
he doesnât answer right away, just holds you there. his touch isnât hesitant, but it is different from the usual casual touches youâve grown used to.
âyouâre annoying sometimes,â he mutters, voice low in your ear.
you chuckle, relaxing further into his hold. âI know.â
thereâs silence for a beat, and then: âbut I love you anyway, idiot.â
you blink, unsure if youâve heard him correctly. you turn your head slightly, trying to see his face, but he buries it against your neck, hiding his expression. âdid you justâ?â
âdonât make a big deal out of it,â he mumbles, voice suddenly gruff, though you can hear the embarrassment beneath the words.
a smile breaks across your face, warmth spreading through your chest. you didnât expect it, but that makes it all the more special. he isnât saying it because the moment demands it.
he isnât saying it because youâre waiting. he says it because he wants to, because he feels it.
âIâm not,â you reply, trying to sound nonchalant but failing miserably as your happiness bubbles up in your voice. âbutâŠI love you too.â
you feel his grip tighten around you and a kiss pressed to your shoulder.

drunk dazed !
drunk-roommate!sunghoon x roommate!reader
summary: you never wouldâve expected sunghoonâ resident ice princeâ to be the clingy type of drunk
genre: fluff
warnings: mentions of drinking, sunghoon is drunk (duh), sunghoon and reader arenât dating but they definitely have a crush/lil somethin goin on, you and sunghoon are roommates, you take sunghoons clothes off but itâs in a non sexual manner, he asks you to help him change, ooc sunghoon
a/n: i would consider myself an engene but i think theyâre one of the groups iâm more of a casual fan about if that makes any sense? like i like their music and i consume their content and i have a bias and everything but theyâre not one of my MAIN-main groups yknow? but i still love them and wanted to write something for them and i got this idea about how cute it would be if sunghoon was like clingy n stuff so here we are. tbh i donât love this fic but i just wanted it done and i thought that even if i donât like it maybe someone out there will. i have a jay fic idea in the works too so if you like enhypen thatâll be out eventually too ;)
if somebody bet you twenty bucks that sunghoon was the clingy type drunk, you wouldâve paid them right then and there.
but here you were.
for the past few years you guys had been friends, you donât think you could remember a time you ever saw him drunk. a little tipsy, sure, but never drunk. and then after you became roommatesâ which meant spending even more time around each other than beforeâ you still hadnât seen him get to that state. you had always just assumed he either had a scary high tolerance to alcohol or just didnât like alcohol all that much.
sunghoon had gone out with the rest of the enhypen boys for a couple of drinks that night, which wasnât anything unusual or new. what was unusual and new was the extent to which sunghoon drank himself. when he walked out the door three hours ago you werenât expecting to get a phone call from jay telling you to come pick up your very drunk, very clingy best friend. having to carry a practically incapacitated grown man down the streets of seoul for fifteen minutes and then up a flight of stairs wasnât a scenario you thought about very often but it was as hard as you wouldâve originally imagined.
ây/nnie!â sunghoon whined out into your ear, his weight heavy against your back. a feeling that you would normally find comfort in was now a bit of an inconvenience. you huff out a bit of air and incoherently grumble a bit in what most would consider barely a response, but sunghoon didnât seem to pay much mind as he pressed himself impossibly further into you. it felt like his whole goal was to make this as difficult as possible, as if gravity was dragging his body down to the ground and wanted to take you with him. you trip over your feet but manage to stay somewhat upright, which only makes sunghoon giggle.
you finally managed to stumble your way down the hall to your apartment door, stopping to catch your breath for a moment. as you stood still and panted with your eyes mindlessly locked onto the small apartment numbers on the door, sunghoon took the opportunity to nudge his nose into your cheek, his dark hair tickling the soft skin of your face. the sensation suddenly snapped you out of whatever trance you were in, making your body jolt slightly before you started the process of trying to open the door. youâre not sure why you were so eager to get sunghoon physically away from you while at the same time wanting him to stay attached to you forever. maybe your fast beating heart was from the physical exertion sunghoon put you through; maybe it was from the emotional. you didnât have time to dwell on it now.
you grunted as you tried to shift sunghoonâs weight on your back so you could reach the keys sitting in your back pocket. he mustâve thought you were trying to get him off when you started to move because he let out a whine before gripping onto the front of your shirt in his large hands and tightening his arms around your neck to keep himself on you, which only threw your balance off and made you stumble back. you caught yourself before letting out an exasperated groan. âyouâre making this really difficult, yknow.â sunghoon simply giggled in response and poked your cheek with his pointer finger, moving his head to press his face flat into the side of yours.
âyouâre making this really difficult,â he slurs out his words. you rolled your eyes, but you couldnât help the small smile and soft laugh that escaped your lips.
âthat makes no sense,â you say more to yourself than to him as you finally manage to slide your hand into your back pocket to fish out the apartment keys before unlocking the door and stumbling into the entry way, the sound of your bodies knocking into the wall disturbing the serenity of yours and sunghoonâs (and probably your neighbors) apartment. you somehow managed to slip your shoes off without falling to the wood floor before hauling sunghoon off to his room.
you turn your back to the mattress and completely let go of his weight, letting him flop onto the bed unceremoniously. he let out a grunt as his back hit the sheets, his arm pathetically coming up to try and reach for you once more. you huffed and turned to watch over him for a moment with your hands on your hips while you caught your breath. you watched him paw at the air in search for you before you grasped onto his hand to gently sit him up. he went silent as he tiredly blinked up at you, his pretty, brown eyes practically staring you down.
his intense gaze started to make you nervous, reminding you of a cat watching its owner. his eyes never wavered as he watched you walk over to his closet and rummage around it for a moment before pulling out a plain white t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants before dropping it onto the bed next to him. âget changed, iâll leave the room.â as you start to walk away, sunghoon gently grasped your wrist in his hand, stopping you in your tracks. your eyes widen and lips part in surprise as you look between his half-lidded eyes, then to where his hand is making contact with your skin, then back again.
âhelp me,â he mumbles out. you open your mouth to deny his request, but upon seeing how he slightly sways side to side from intoxication and exhaustion you decide it would just be easier (and probably safer) to help him. âplease.â
you study his face for any sign of hesitation before you slowly nod. âokay.â you step closer, standing between his legs as he stares up at you. your heart rate spikes at the sight of his flushed face and cute moles and messy hair and gorgeous eyes with their attention completely on you. you blink a few times to snap yourself out of the trance heâs put you in before your shaky hands hesitantly reach for the hem of the shirt he has on.
âlift your arms up.â you direct him once youâve taken the fabric in your grasp to which he complies immediately, limply throwing his arms up into the air. you tug the shirt upâ it gets stuck to which he thrashes around a bit to get it undoneâ and over his head before tossing it into the laundry basket sat in the corner of his room. you try not to stare too hard at the expanse of bare skin suddenly available to you, averting your eyes and swallowing harshly to calm yourself down. you choose not to say anything else before reaching for the black jeans he has on, hooking your fingers through the belt loops to tug him to a standing position. he stumbles slightly before balancing out and giggling, standing like a mannequin waiting to be dressed. which in a way, he kind of was.
you unhook his belt and tug his pants off gently before quickly grabbing the pair of sweats and crouching down to help him step into each leg of the pants. youâre glad you were too focused on getting him into them without him falling to focus on the fact that he had been practically naked in front of you for a few moments. you stand back up and tell him to lift up his arms once more, slipping the shirt onâ without getting it stuck this timeâ and watching the moles that dotted his body disappear underneath the cloak of white fabric. throughout this whole process, his eyes hadnât left your figure even once.
finally having him dressed in clean clothes, you usher him to get into bed, pulling back the covers and gently nudging him onto the mattress. he follows your direction with little resistance, little hums escaping his mouth here and there as he watched you pull up the soft covers and tuck him in gently. âcomfortable?â he does a close eyed nod and smiles softly in response. you smile and nod in return. âgood,â you whisper.
âiâm gonna go get you some water,â you brush his hair off of his forehead and make barely any moves to leave the room, but are stopped by him sitting upright so fast it was as if he was coming back from the dead and his hands shooting out to grab your arm.
âno!â sunghoon lets out a whine of protest, his eyebrows furrowed and eyes starting to gloss over with tears, his bottom lip jutted out in a pout as it starts to tremble. youâre completely caught off guard by his reaction, even more so when he starts to tug you back towards him until your knees are knocking against the bed. âdonât go, donât leave me,â
you think you can hear your heart breaking at the sight, the feeling of it clenching uncomfortably in your chest overwhelming. you smile softly at him and reach out your free hand to pet his head in an attempt to soothe him, his lashes fluttering and head leaning into your palm at the sensation. âiâm just gonna go get you some water. you wonât even notice that iâm gone.â
âi always notice when youâre gone.â sunghoonâs voice rings out so clear and suddenly he looks the most sober heâs been the entire night. his vulnerability; it catches you off guard, but you canât help but like the way it feels coming from him. itâs silent for a few moments more as you let the words heâs said sink into your brain. âjust stay with me,â he whispers, as if afraid that if he speaks too loud, the fragile, glass-like state of whatever it is you two are in will shatter under his words.
you blink at him a few times before nodding softly. âokay,â you whisper back. sunghoon pulls back the covers before he guides you onto the open space heâs left you, laying down and tugging the blanket over your shoulders. after he deems you properly tucked in, he rests his cheek on his hands and stares. you both study each other in the moonlit room, your features somehow more ethereal in the soft glow. âyou should go to sleep. you donât want a hangover in the morning,â you whisper.
âi will in a minute,â he whispers back. you can see the cogs turning in his head, as if he was debating both for and against himself in his mind. you realize what that look was for though when the bed dips slightly under his weight as he shuffles closer to you, his arm coming up to rest heavy on your waist. âjust let me do this,â he slides his other arm under your head before pulling you until you were pressed against his body. he lets out a sigh into the quiet night as his body finally seems to fully relax, the feeling of you against him helping his hyped up state from the clubbing and alcohol dissipate. he tucks your head underneath his chin, his hand mindlessly rubbing back and forth on your back, lulling you into a sleepy state as well.
you press yourself closer to him and bring your arms to wrap around his torso to hold him in return as you let your eyes flutter shut. âgoodnight, sunghoon.â
âgoodnight, y/n.â he replies, his breathing evening out as he drifts off to sleep. you smile to yourself before you drift off shortly after, meeting him once more in your dreams.

cost of betrayal
masterlist
summary: after Rafe finds out the truth about you and Hollis, he comes back from Morocco, expecting you to be gone, but you refuse to leave without trying to work things out first
word count: 1.7k.
warnings: part 2 spoilers, angst and fluff, pogue reader, arguments, trust issues
a/n: i stand Sofia and Rafe, guys. need them together asap đ
âI think I told you to get the fuck out of my house, Y/N?â Itâs the first thing you hear when Rafe walks through the front door of his house, throwing his bag on the floor and walking right past you, not even looking in your direction. You get up from the couch, wiping your sweaty hands on your pants.Â
Your chest feels tight, and your eyes are still swollen and red from the amount of crying as you silently follow him to the kitchen. That one stupid decision can cost you everything, including the man you love, and for the past few days, all you have been able to do is cry and curse yourself for being so stupid.Â
You stop when Rafe leans forward with his hands on the counter, his back is unusually tense, you feel anger radiating from him even from a distance and itâs all your fault, you know that.Â
âWe need to talk.â You whisper, coming closer and hugging yourself with your arms.Â
âI have nothing to talk to you about.âÂ
âRafe, please. I need to explain.â He turns around suddenly, blue eyes colder than you have ever seen. You almost step back from Rafeâs intense gaze, because never before were you at the receiving end of that look. He was nothing but sweet and kind to you during your entire relationship, so losing that privilege hurts you even more.Â
He tries to hold back, tries to calm himself down at the image of your looking at him so sadly, with regret written all over your face. Rafe breathes heavily, trying to hide the pain of feeling played by youâthe only person he thought he could trust wholeheartedly. He hates that even now, even with the anger raging inside him, he still feels that instinct to protect you, to calm you.
Hurts at the realisation that he doesn't want to lose you, that a part of him feels like he cannot survive without you, that even after what youâve done he canât let you go. He doesnât want you to actually leave him alone.Â
âThe fuck you need to explain? The way you betrayed me, huh?â He takes slow steps towards you, intimidating, almost threatening, but his voice shakes with emotions. âThe way you went behind my back with that bitch Hollis to screw me up and make me lose my money? I fucking trusted you, I gave you everything and you still did that to me.â Rafeâs face was just inches from yours and you were unable to take your eyes from his, unable to even deny it, because he was not wrong.Â
âI know, Rafe, I know!â You sob, unable to hold back your tears. âI never wanted to hurt you, I never meant to set you up like that. I was angry at you and she appeared at that exact moment, and...Â
âShe was fucking angry!â He yells, throwing his hands up in the air. You flinch but still stay your ground.Â
âBecause you hurt me, Rafe!â
âBullshit. I did nothing but take care of you.â
âI heard what you told your friends.â You yell back, not caring about trying to communicate properly anymore. You were wrong for doing that, yes, but the way his words made you feel at that moment was probably the worst pain youâve ever experienced, so it wasnât like you were the only one to blame. âThat youâre not living with a pogue, that you have standards, that weâre just hooking up... I heard it all, Rafe. How did you expect me to react to that, huh?â
You see a slight shift of recognition or even regret in his eyes, but he quickly goes back to his previous coldness.Â
âSo you made me lose my money because of this shit?âÂ
âI know that it was wrong, okay? But... but do you understand what I felt at that moment? Do you understand how much it hurt me to hear it?â You sob again, desperately trying to wise away all of the tears that were streaming down your face. Youâre barely able to speak properly with the lump in your throat, but you push it away because you feel thereâs only one chance for you to get things straight with Rafe.Â
He stays silent, his brows are knitted, whether in still-lingering anger or in a hint of regret and frustration because of the way you were feeling. Rafe always hated seeing you cry, seeing you hurt in any type of way, even if he hasnât always been able to admit or express it, and now part of him is more angry at himself than at you. Your trembling frame, the way your shoulders shake with each sob, chips away at his anger, leaving only the fear of losing you.
âWeâve been together for more than a year, Rafe. Iâ I thought that it meant something to you. That I mean something to you. I was hoping that maybe all of your kook and pogue bullshit was long forgotten, but you didnât even hesitate to say that to Topper.â Your voice is filled with sadness and despair, and you are aware that you are probably looking a mess right now. All you can do is just wipe your face with the loose sleeves of your shirt, sniffing in between your words and trying to make your voice less shaky.Â
"How was I supposed to feel?" How would you feel if you were in my situation, Rafe? If I said you did not mean anything to me and I was just having a good time?" You ask, but donât get an answer. Instead, he just looks at you silently, with a blank expression, because he knows that he wouldâve gone absolutely crazy. âI love you. I did for a long time, but you made me feel as if I was nothing to you. Just another pogue that you despise, that you keep around for fun until you find someone better and just dump!â Placing a hand on your violently beating heart, you take a deep breath before continuing.Â
âIt was stupid. I regretted it as soon as I did it and I wanted to tell you, but you had already signed the contract. I know I hurt you with what I did. But can you really say you didnât hurt me first?âÂ
âMaybe I shouldnât have said it. I didnât⊠I didnât mean it like that. He finally mutters, his voice quieter now. âBut you donât get it, Y/N. All my life, everyoneâs expected me to be a certain way, to follow the same fucking rules I donât even believe in. I thought⊠I thought if I kept us under the radar, Iâd protect you from that. And you know how hard it is for me to open upâthat I donât want to let people in because everyone ends up leaving me.âÂ
âI never meant to betray you, I never wanted to be another person who hurts you, Rafe.â You feel like you are about to collapse, burying your face in your hands and crying.Â
It feels like a joke of your spiraling mind at first, but when your body suddenly gets embraced in a familiar warmth and scent, you break down completely. Rafe hugs you around your shoulders and you wrap your hands around his waist, gripping the back of his shirt and hiding your face in his chest. Youâre sniffing and trembling, unable to breathe properly, until you feel his hand at the back of your head and his low voice shushing you.Â
âBreathe, baby. Just breathe. âS okay.â He rocks both of you from side to side until your breathing straightens. The steady beating of his heart soothes you quickly, until your tears get dry on your face. âI shouldnât have said that. Iâm sorry. I was an idiot for not protecting you the way I shouldâve.â You feel him slightly leaning down. Slow, delicate kisses being left on your temple, on your cheek, and with a slight movement of your head, Rafeâs able to capture your lips.Â
Your face is still sticky with tears, and your lips are swollen, but neither of you care as you start to melt against him. Itâs been way to long since he left for Morocco. The stress that youâve experienced from your fight and from the fact that you were going crazy about his safety was overwhelming.Â
While he was kissing you slowly, you both realized how hard it was to stay apart for that long, not sure of what was happening between you two.Â
âIâm sorry that you lost so much money because of me.â You mumbled when he pulled away, resting his forehead on yours.Â
âYou know itâs not the damn money I actually care about. I thought that I was wrong about you, that I lost you, Y/N.â You shake your head against his, caressing the sides of his face with your hands.Â
Rafe lifts his free hand that was not holding your waist, placing it on top of your hand and you see the way his tense shoulders immediately relax at the feeling of his motherâs ring still on your finger.Â
âWeâre making it official. I donât care about this pogue bullshit, donât care about whatever Topper with his crazy bitch or other kooks think about it. Iâm not wasting my time anymore.â You smile through happy tears now, looking Rafe in the eyes, seeing that familiar warmth that you were afraid to never experience again. He smirks back at you, holding you tighter against his chest. âNo more hiding and lying, yeah, baby? I love you.âÂ
âY-yes. No more of that stuff. I love you too, Ray.â You giggle before he drags you even closer to kiss you again.Â

Whatâs better than succeeding in life in almost every aspect? Sharing that success with someone you love and that loves you back, unconditionally and wholly. Meeting Paige Madison Bueckers had undoubtedly been one of the best things that life had blessed you with, other than your flourishing career. The two of you had met in 2019, both playing for team USA. Later on you would meet again at UConn, playing and succeeding alongside each other for the past four years. It wasnât until barely a year ago, that the two of you decided to be brave enough to confess your love. But sadly, everything must end for a new chapter to begin, and here you were, living a two and a half hour drive from her to chase your dreams.
Luckily for you, Paige was the most dedicated and passionate girlfriend in the world, making it her mission to attend as many of your games during the playoff season as possible. Today was no different. It was her birthday, her special day, and here she was, supporting you. Hoping to celebrate you, rather than celebrating herself.
You were pacing around the open kitchen of yourâextremely overprizedâapartment, the nerves and anxiety eating at you like maggots, heart pounding in your throat and hands sweaty. This was by far, one of the most important games in your life so far, if not more important than the game against Iowa only six month ago.
âHow about you stop walking around in circles and câmere?â Paige spoke up from her spot on the malta-beige couch, arm slung over the back rest as her neck craned slightly to look back at you.
âI canât, I feel like Iâm about to throw up.â You spoke, your voice coming out almost like a choked whine, wiping your hands down on your sweatpants for the umpteenth time in the past hour.
You only had an hour left until you had to be ready and at the Barclays Center. Two and a half hours until the final game against the Minnesota Lynx began. You were a mess, and no one could blame you.
Sighing at your distressed state, the blonde lifted herself off of the couch, walking towards you with sympathetic eyes. She hated seeing you this way. It wasnât the first time, and definitely wouldnât be the last, but it never burdened her. If you needed to cling to her like a lifeline, she would be there. Every. Single. Time.
âOh, baby. Câmere.â Her arms opened wide once she was standing a mere foot away from you, wrapping you into a hug. So tight and warm, so comforting and safe that for a moment, it felt like all your worries vanished into thin air. The only thing that mattered was the intoxicating scent and the protective warmth of your girlfriend.
You buried your face into the crook of her neck, arms wrapping around her waist as you allowed yourself to breatheâreally breatheâfor the first time since you had woken up. âIâm just scared. What if I mess up? What if I disappoint everyone and then Iâll be the rookie that ruined everything.â You mumble into her neck, voice slightly muffled but she understood you perfectly.
âHey. Hey, look at me.â Paigeâs voice was firm, yet it didnât lack the tenderness and gentleness you so desperately needed. Her hands snaked up, pulling away from the hug just enough to be able to cup your face in them. âThatâs bullshit and you know it. Youâre on top of the league right now, if not the world. This is not going to ruin your career. It is not going to diminish everything you have achieved and youâre sure as hell not going to disappoint everyone.â
With her hands cradling your face, thumbs brushing against your cheeks and eyes looking deeply into yours, you couldnât help but tear up. Maybe it was the stress, maybe the nerves, or maybe it was the reassurance and praise that not only her words offered, but her entire presence in that moment.
âYouâre going to be great, just as youâve always been. How many times have you felt just like this and ended up wiping the floor with everyone?â
The way she was looking down at you almost had your knees crumbling, so gentle and sincere. âYou think so?â Your voice was quiet, barely above a whisper and if it had been any other situation, you wouldâve cringed at yourself.
âBaby, I know so.â Paige didnât have to say more than that. It was enough to boost your confidence from basement level, to the roof.
You didnât say much either, choosing to bask in the moment, hands snaking up to lay over hers that were still cupping your face, looking up at her with glassy eyes and a faint smile. In that moment, it was only appropriate for you to inch closer, placing a soft and short kiss on her pillow soft lips.
A smile crept up on the blonde as you pulled back again, âSo⊠How about âpre-game good luckâ head?â
âWell⊠Wait, No! Iâm still in distress.â
The arena buzzed with a low hum of anticipation as you stood at the edge of the court, taking in the packed stands, the flashing lights, and the sea of Liberty blue and green. Your heart was poundingâthough you'd had nerves all day, they'd sharpened now that the moment was upon you . You scanned the crowd, gaze catching Paige's in her seat near the front. Paige's steadying smile softened the sharp edges of Your anxiety, and you exhaled, focus narrowing. This was it. The moment you had been working your ass of for. It was now or never.
As the whistle blew, your nerves dissolved like mist, replaced by the razor focus of competition. Everything outside the court vanished, your only objective now to take down the Lynx and bring home a win for the team. But as the first quarter unfolded, it became clear this game wouldn't go as planned. Your team struggled to find their rhythm, their usual crisp passes and quick plays seeming off. Shots were bouncing off the rim, free throws missed their mark, and the Lynx defense was ruthless. Every time you managed to drive toward the basket, you felt hands clawing at your arms, hips bumping you hard off course. You fought to keep your form steady, but even your own three-pointersânormally a guaranteed lifelineâfell just short. Beside you, Sabrina was playing through visible pain, her movements cautious, hindered by her UCL injury.
Paige's chest tightened with each missed shot and lost point, her eyes tracking your every move. She could see your frustration mounting, shoulders tensing after every failed attempt, and every bit of her wanted to rush down there, to shield you from the weight of this game. Tell you that she believed in you more than anything.
By halftime, the Liberty had fallen behind by nearly double digits. You felt your stomach knot and churn as you walked back down the tunnel toward the locker room, breath shaky, mind racing over every failed shot, every error. Before you knew it, hot tears were spilling down your cheeks, stinging with the shame of coming up short. You barely noticed the footsteps trailing you until you heard Paige's voice calling out her name, a beacon of comfort piercing her distress.
You slowed and turned, and there was your girlfriend, just outside the locker room door, her eyes brimming with concern. A teasing voice broke the tensionâStewie, giving you a gentle nudge on the shoulder. "Hey, save some of those tears for the win, rook. You're not out of this yet."
Despite yourself, you let out a shaky laugh, and then you were in Paige's arms, face buried against her shoulder. You clung to her, breathing in the familiar scent and drawing strength from your girlfriend's embrace. "I'm playing like shit right now," you mumbled, voice thick with disappointment.
She tilted your chin up, meeting your eyes with steady determination. "Hey, look at me. You've been through worse than this. Most of these people today are here to watch you. You're gonna go back out there and you're gonna play your game. I know you. You're not done." Her words wrapped around you like armor, steadying your nerves. With a last kiss on the cheek, Paige whispered, "Go show them who you are, Ma."
Buoyed by the reassurance, you returned to the court for the second half with renewed fire only ten minutes later. Your team began to close the gap, each player digging deep as they fought to find their rhythm. Your shots began to connect, and your movements were sharper, cleaner, feeding off your team's newfound energy. You could feel Paige's eyes on you from the stands, grounding you with every step.
By the time the game went into overtime, your team had clawed their way to a slim four-point lead, the clock ticking down the final seconds. With a fierce determination, you seized her momentâgripping the ball just past half-court, you made the reckless decision in a split second. You set your stance and launched a deep three-pointer, watching as the ball arched high into the air. The arena fell silent, everyone holding their breath as it spun toward the basket.
And thenâswish. The ball dropped cleanly through the net, and the crowd erupted, an unstoppable wave of sound crashing over the court. Your teammates surged around you, pulling you into hugs and shouting in joy, their faces bright with triumph. You felt the overwhelming relief, the weight of victory sinking in as tears of happiness filled your eyes.
Amid the chaos, your gaze instinctively searched for Paige, who was already standing by her seat, pride radiating from her. Without thinking, you ran toward her, your heart full to bursting. When you reached Paige, your threw your arms around her, catching her in a fierce embrace. Before either of you registered what you were doing, you pressed a kiss to Paige's lips, the world melting away in that single moment. You were on cloud nine and nothing could bring you down, anytime soon.
Paige held you close, tears shimmering in her own eyes as she whispered, "I'm so proud of you, Baby. You fucking did it."
And for the first time in a long time, you felt the weight of every struggle, every doubt, lifted, replaced by the solid warmth of love, victory, and the freedom to embrace who you truly were.
But then it dawned on you. The sudden realization of what you had just done and your face dropped, heart pounding impossibly faster in your throat all while Paige continued to hold you close. "Oh my god... Oh. My. God." You could barely manage to find the words, the guilt of what you had just done so impulsively hitting you like a wave and throwing you off that thrown you had been sitting on just a mere minute ago.
"I'm so sorry. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck... Oh god, I fucked up. The whole world just saw that, what do we do?" It was clear as day that you were panicking, the fear of disappointing your girlfriend eating away at you.
Paige however, didn't seem to have lost that smile on her face, her bright eyes almost blinding with the sparkle that shimmered in them, all while gazing at you. "I don't care. We've talked about this before, I want the world to know."
"Really?" Your voice was barely above a whisper, not trusting yourself to keep it from cracking in that moment.
"Yes, really. I would be fucking insane if I had anything against the world knowing that I'm not only dating the most wonderful person alive, but also a champion."
Your frown quickly turned upside down into a small smile, heart searing with love and pride. Not only were you a winner tonight, but with her on your side, you'd be a winner for the rest of your life.
"Now go and celebrate, you deserve it." The blonde began to release you from her grip, a soft grin playing on her lips.
"Come with me." You suggested instantly, not wanting to be apart from her for even just a second, if you didn't have to. "I wanna show off my prettier trophy on her birthday."
Paige's grin melted into a smirk, the sparkle in her blue eyes suddenly clouded and you had to make sure that your own eyes weren't playing tricks on you. "Your trophy, huh? Oh, I'm gonna fuck you so good when we get back home, champ."
Back in the locker room, the team was in full championship mode. As you and Paige stepped in, you were instantly drenched with a spray of ice-cold champagne, your teammates laughing and cheering as they each took turns celebrating. The room was filled with a mix of joyous shouts, laughter, and the sticky-sweet smell of champagne spilling from bottles held high. You could feel the bubbles fizzing on your skin, jersey soaked through, but none of that matteredâthis was the taste of victory, and you drank it in like the best moment of your life.
Stewie grinned, grabbing a cigar and offering it to you with a proud nod. âHere you go, rook. Youâve earned it.â
You took it with a chuckle, feeling the weight of the cigar in your hand as you looked around at your ecstatic teammates. You didnât smoke often, but right now, it felt like the perfect way to mark the moment. As you lit up, you took a slow draw and exhaled, watching the smoke curl into the air, feeling an odd thrill in the movement. Around you, your teammates roared in laughter and cheered you on, playfully tousling your hair and congratulating you as you relaxed further into the moment.
Paige stood slightly apart from the chaos, watching you with an expression of open admiration. Paigeâs gaze lingered on you, catching every spark of joy in your eyes, every smile, and every bit of laughter that spilled from your lips. She let herself soak in the sight, wanting to imprint it on her memoryâthis perfect image of you, triumphant and glowing, a little champagne-drunk and flushed from the celebration. She didnât care about the sticky residue of the champagne on her own skin or the faint smell of smoke in the air; all she could focus on was you, looking impossibly beautiful.
As you took another drag, exhaling the smoke with an air of confidence that was as charming as it was unfamiliar, Paigeâs heart skipped a beat. There was something about the way you held herself tonight, bold and carefree, that sent a shiver down Paigeâs spine.
You caught Paigeâs eyes and, with a giggle, took a playful step toward her, the effects of the champagne clear in your soft, relaxed gaze. âAre you okay over there?â you teased, tilting your head with a grin, clearly catching on to Paigeâs stare.
Paigeâs lips curled into a smirk, her voice low as she leaned in, brushing a hand along your arm. âOh, Iâm doing great,â she murmured, her tone filled with a hint of mischief. âJust⊠canât wait to get you home.â
Your eyes sparkled with a playful challenge as you smirked right back, the faint scent of champagne and cigar smoke hanging in the air between them. âIâm all yours in an hour or so,â you whispered, leaning in close enough that only Paige could hear.
âLongest hour of my life,â Paige replied, her voice barely above a breath, her eyes gleaming with anticipation as they lingered on your smile.
The locker room buzzed around you, but in that moment, you both were in your own world, two people tangled in a look filled with promises for later, ready to savor every bit of this winâtogether.

MASTERLIST
Living with Tara and Sam has always felt like living in two different worlds. Taraâs your best friendâhas been since forever. Sheâs the one who shares late-night movie marathons with you, and who can talk you into midnight snack raids like itâs nothing. You know everything about her, from the way she crinkles her nose when somethingâs funny, to the way she absentmindedly tugs her sleeves over her hands when sheâs deep in thought. Taraâs the person whoâs always there, the one who feels like home.
And then thereâs Sam.
Sheâs⊠different. More guarded, quiet. After everything sheâs been through, she has walls up, and though sheâs been trying to let them down, itâs a slow process. You respect that. Living with her is a different rhythm, and at times it feels like youâre navigating around invisible lines, trying not to step on any of the shadows she carries.
But itâs a balance youâre used to now. Your days are filled with Taraâs laugh and Samâs quiet presence. You wouldnât trade it for anything.
Tonight, the three of you are scattered across the living room, a comfort zone youâve created together, cozy and messy in the best way. You and Tara are sprawled on the couch, a bowl of popcorn between you, eyes glued to a rerun of some B-grade horror movie thatâs more funny than scary. Samâs sitting in the armchair nearby, flipping through a magazine, occasionally glancing up at the screen with an amused shake of her head.
âLook at that,â Tara laughs, pointing to the screen. âTheyâre literally running toward the killer. Who does that?â
You chuckle, nudging her. âMaybe theyâre just really dedicated to the plot. Canât let the killer down, right?â
She rolls her eyes, snatching the popcorn bowl and tossing a handful at you. You pretend to be outraged, grabbing a stray piece off the floor and flicking it back at her.
âHey, no food fights,â Sam calls, her tone light but with that big-sister authority that keeps both of you in line. She smirks, glancing at the mess of popcorn now littering the floor. âIâm not cleaning that up.â
Tara shoots her a mischievous grin. âCome on, Sam, live a little. Itâs just popcorn.â
You canât help but join in, giving Sam a mock-serious look. âYeah, Sam, loosen up. Tara and I are just getting started.â
She rolls her eyes, but thereâs a hint of a smile on her face. Itâs moments like this, when her walls come down and sheâs just Sam, just your family, that you feel the warmth of this makeshift home settle deep inside you.
As the movie goes on, Tara gradually ends up with her head on your shoulder, her eyes starting to droop. Itâs not long before her breathing evens out, and you realize sheâs fallen asleep, curled up against you in that way she always does when sheâs completely comfortable.
You glance over at Sam, catching her watching the two of you. Thereâs a softness in her gaze, a hint of relief that her sisterâs safe, that sheâs surrounded by people who love her.
âShe always falls asleep first,â Sam murmurs, a faint smile tugging at her lips.
You nod, careful not to disturb Tara. âSome things never change.â
Thereâs a quiet between you and Sam now, an unspoken understanding thatâs settled in over the years. Taraâs not just your best friendâsheâs family, and so is Sam, in her own way. Youâd do anything to protect them, and they know it.
After a moment, Sam gets up, stretching as she glances toward the clock. âIâll grab a blanket,â she says, her voice soft. âYou two are just going to stay there, right?â
You smile, nodding as you settle in a little deeper. âYeah. Iâll make sure sheâs okay.â
Sam lingers for a moment, watching you both with that quiet intensity of hers. Then she gives a small nod, almost as if sheâs giving her blessing. âThanks for⊠sticking with us,â she says, her voice low, and you know sheâs not just talking about tonight.
âAnytime,â you say, meaning it.
She leaves the room, and you feel Taraâs head nestle further into your shoulder, her small, content sigh the only sound in the otherwise quiet room. Itâs one of those moments that feel perfectly right, like everything has fallen into place. The world outside might be complicated, full of ups and downs, but here, with Tara asleep beside you and Sam watching over both of you, it feels like youâve found something rareâa family youâve chosen, one thatâs chosen you back.
As Sam returns with a soft blanket, you gently shift Tara to a more comfortable position. She stirs slightly, murmuring something incoherent, but doesn't wake. With practiced ease, you drape the blanket over her, tucking it around her shoulders.
Sam watches, a small smile playing on her lips. "She's lucky," she says quietly, meeting your gaze. "To have you."
There's a weight to her words, a depth of meaning that you don't quite know how to untangle. Instead, you simply nod, feeling an unexpected lump form in your throat.
"We're lucky," you manage, your voice coming out rougher than you intended. "Both of us."
Sam's smile widens, and for a moment, her walls seem to drop, revealing the warmth that's always lurked beneath. "Yeah," she agrees softly.
You look back to Tara, her face peaceful in sleep, and feel a surge of protectiveness wash over you. No matter what comes, you'll always be there for her, just as she's always been there for you.
As if sensing your thoughts, Tara shifts again, her hand reaching out to find yours. Her fingers twine with yours, and she sighs contentedly, burrowing closer.
"She's got a good grip," Sam observes, a note of humor in her voice. "You might be stuck there for a while."
You laugh softly, squeezing Tara's hand. "I don't mind," you say, and it's true. There's nowhere else you'd rather be.
Sam nods, her expression softening. "I know," she says, and there's a certainty in her voice that makes you feel warm all over. "I know."
The movie plays on, the credits rolling, but neither of you pay attention. Instead, you sit there, Tara sleeping between you, and let the moment stretch out, savoring the peace and the quiet and the knowledge that, no matter what happens, you'll always have each other.
ime passes in a blur of contentment, the minutes ticking by as Tara sleeps, safe and warm between you and Sam. The movie long since ended, the room is bathed in the soft glow of the muted TV, the only sound Tara's gentle breathing.
It's hard to say how long you sit there, lost in thought and memories, but eventually, a slight stirring from Tara brings you back to the present. She shifts, her hand tightening around yours as she blinks open sleepy eyes.
"Hey," she murmurs, her voice husky with sleep. She looks up at you, then at Sam, confusion slowly clearing from her features as she takes in her surroundings. "Did I fall asleep?"
You smile, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Yeah, you did. It was adorable."
Tara laughs, a soft, sleepy sound. She sits up, rubbing at her eyes, and you can't help but watch her, marveling at the way the light catches in her hair, at the curve of her smile.
"What time is it?" she asks, yawning widely.
Sam glances at the clock. "Almost midnight," she says. "You've been out for a few hours.
Tara stretches, arching her back in a way that makes your breath catch. "Wow," she says, grinning. "Guess I needed it."
She turns to you, her gaze soft. "Thanks for letting me crash on you," she says, her voice low and intimate.
Your heart skips a beat, and you feel a blush rising to your cheeks. "Anytime," you manage, your voice coming out rougher than you intended.
Tara's smile widens, and for a moment, it feels like the rest of the world has fallen away, like it's just the two of you, lost in each other's eyes.
Sam clears her throat, and you jolt back to reality, realizing how long you've been staring at each other. Tara laughs, breaking the spell, and you feel a rush of relief mixed with disappointment.
Tara stretches again, her shirt riding up to reveal a sliver of skin, and you feel your breath catch in your throat. She's always been beautiful, but there's something about the way she looks right now, sleep-rumpled and soft, that makes your heart race.
"I should probably get to bed," she says, standing up and smoothing down her clothes. "Early class tomorrow."
You nod, trying to hide the disappointment on your face. "Yeah, of course."
She smiles at you, a quick, playful thing. "Night, Y/N," she says, and before you can respond, she leans in and presses a kiss to your cheek.
It's over in an instant, but the warmth of her lips lingers long after she's gone, a ghost of sensation that makes your skin tingle.
Sam raises an eyebrow as Tara disappears down the hall. "Well," she says, her tone light but with an undercurrent of something you can't quite identify. "That was... unexpected."
You feel your face heat, and you're suddenly very interested in the popcorn bowl in your lap. "Yeah," you manage, clearing your throat.
Sam doesn't push, but you can feel her gaze on you, assessing, considering. You're not sure what she sees, but you know it's something that goes beyond mere friendship, something that you're not quite ready to put a name to.
"I'm going to bed too," Sam says finally, standing up and stretching. "You're welcome to stay and finish the movie if you want."
You nod, giving her a small smile. "Thanks," you say. "I think I'll just... clean up a bit and then head to my room."
Sam nods, giving you a quick, companionable hug before heading off to her own bedroom. You're left alone in the living room, the ghost of Tara's kiss still tingling on your skin.
As you gather up the empty popcorn bowl and soda cans, your mind wanders to Tara, to the way she looked at you, the way she smiled. You know there's something there, something more than just friendship.
With the living room tidied up, you head to your bedroom, your mind still reeling from Tara's surprise kiss. The soft glow of your bedside lamp illuminates the room as you start your nightly routine, washing your face and brushing your teeth.
As you slip into your pajamas, you can't help but think about Tara, about the way her lips felt against your skin, the way her eyes sparkled in the dim light. You know you shouldn't read too much into it, but you can't help the flutter in your chest, the warmth that spreads through your veins at the memory.
You climb into bed, pulling the covers up to your chin, and stare at the ceiling. Your mind races with thoughts of Tara, of the moments you've shared, the laughter and the tears and everything in between. You've always had a special bond, but lately, it seems to have shifted, grown into something deeper, more intense.
You close your eyes, trying to will yourself to sleep, but your mind won't quiet. You remember the way Tara looked at you, the heat in her gaze, the unspoken promise in her smile. You wonder what it would be like to kiss her for real, to feel her body pressed against yours, to lose yourself in the taste and the touch and the feel of her.
â
You jolt awake to the sound of raised voices, your heart pounding in your chest. For a moment, you're disoriented, unsure of where you are or what's happening. But then the familiar sounds of Tara and Sam arguing filter through the haze of sleep, and you relax slightly.
"I'm serious, Tara," Sam's voice comes, tight with frustration. "You can't just leave your dishes in the sink for days on end. It's gross."
"Oh, please," Tara scoffs, her voice muffled by the closed door. "It's not like there's anything growing in there. And besides, it's not like you're some perfect housekeeper."
You hear a huff of annoyance, followed by the sound of a cabinet opening and closing. "Just because I don't leave my dishes in the sink doesn't mean I'm perfect," Sam says, her voice calmer now. "I'm just asking you to be considerate."
There's a pause, and you can picture Tara rolling her eyes, her arms crossed stubbornly over her chest. "Fine," she says finally, the word dragged out of her reluctantly. "Y/N will clean them- Y/N!!â She shouts, calling out to you.
You groan, rubbing the sleep from your eyes as you stumble out of bed. The argument between Tara and Sam is still going strong, and you can't help but smile slightly at their bickering. It's a familiar sound, one that's been a constant background noise to your life for as long as you can remember.
You make your way to the kitchen, yawning as you enter the fray. Tara's standing by the sink, her arms crossed and a mutinous expression on her face. Sam's at the counter, her arms full of dirty dishes.
"Morning, sunshine," Tara says, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Ready to play maid?"
You roll your eyes, taking the dishes from Sam and setting them in the sink. "Why am I not surprised to find you two fighting over chores?" you ask, turning on the water and squirting some dish soap into the basin.
Tara huffs, picking up a sponge and starting to scrub at a particularly stubborn spot. "It's not fair," she grumbles. "Why do I have to do all the work?"
You just shake your head, starting to wash the dishes. "Because you left them in the sink for days," you say, your tone mild. "And because Sam asked you nicely to clean them, and you said you would."
Tara's scowl deepens, and she thrusts the sponge at you. "Here," she says, her voice tight. "You do it, then."
You take the sponge, a grin tugging at your lips. "Fine," you say, and before she can react, you flick a bit of soapy water at her.
Tara yelps, dropping the sponge and glaring at you. "Oh, you're on," she says, her eyes sparkling with mischief. She grabs another sponge and starts chasing you around the kitchen, flicking soapy water everywhere.
You laugh, dodging her attempts to splash you. "Tara, stop!" you gasp, trying to dodge another spray of water. "You're making a mess!"
Tara ignores your pleas, too caught up in the impromptu soapy water fight. She corners you by the fridge, a triumphant grin on her face as she raises her sponge threateningly.
"Gotcha now!" she crows, but before she can strike, you lunge forward, tackling her to the ground. You end up in a tangle of limbs, both of you gasping for breath and covered in suds.
For a moment, you just stare at each other, your faces inches apart, the rest of the world fading away. Tara's eyes are wide, her cheeks flushed, and you feel your heart skip a beat at the sight of her.
Then, as if a spell has been broken, you both burst into laughter, the tension dissipating like the bubbles around you. Tara rolls to the side, wiping sudsy water from her eyes.
"Okay, okay," she says, holding up her hands in surrender. "Truce."
You nod, accepting her offer, and help her to her feet. You're both covered in soap and water, your hair plastered to your heads, but you don't care. For a moment, you just stand there, breathing heavily, exchanging grins.
Then, as if remembering the presence of the other person in the room, you both turn to look at Sam. She's leaning against the counter, her arms crossed and a bemused expression on her face.
"Really, you two?" she says, shaking her head. "I leave you alone for five minutes, and you're making a mess of the kitchen?"
You and Tara exchange a guilty glance, then look back at Sam, grinning sheepishly. "Sorry," you say, trying to sound contrite but failing miserably.
Sam sighs, but there's a smile tugging at her lips. "Just... finish cleaning up, okay?" she says, pushing off the counter and heading out of the kitchen. "And try to keep the water on the dishes, not on each other."
You and Tara watch her go, then turn back to each other, laughing softly. "Come on," you say, picking up a sponge and tossing it to Tara.
Tara catches the sponge, grinning at you as she starts scrubbing at the dishes again. You join her, working in companionable silence for a few minutes. The suds slide over the plates and bowls, leaving them clean and sparkling.
"You know," Tara says, glancing at you out of the corner of her eye, "if you wanted to get me wet, there are easier ways than a soapy water fight."
You nearly drop the plate you're washing, your face flushing hot. "Tara!" you gasp, sputtering for words. "You can't just say things like that!"
You chuckle, shaking your head at her antics. âTo be fair, that was a good one.â You say, holding your soapy fist out for a fist bump.
Tara laughs, bumping her fist against yours, sending suds flying. "Thanks," she says, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "I've been practicing."
You roll your eyes, but you can't keep the smile off your face. Tara's always been like this - quick-witted, playful, unafraid to push boundaries. It's one of the things you love about her, even if it sometimes drives you crazy.
Tara's eyes light up as she leans forward, her sandwich forgotten. "Oh my god, Y/N, there's this party coming up. It's like, a big fancy dress thing. Everyone who's anyone will be there."
She's practically bouncing in her seat, her excitement palpable. You can't help but smile at her enthusiasm, even as a small part of you wonders if this is really a good idea.
"That sounds... interesting," you say cautiously, trying to gauge her reaction. "Are you sure you want to go? I mean, after everything that's happened..."
Tara waves a hand dismissively, her smile never faltering. "That's exactly why we should go," she says, her voice earnest. "We can't let what happened define us, you know? We need to live our lives."
There's a glint in her eye as she turns to you, her smile turning sly. "Besides," she says, her voice lowering conspiratorially, "it'll be a chance for us to dress up, look hot, and show everyone that we're not going to be pushed around."
Tara's eyes sparkle with excitement as she leans in closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Let's go shopping tomorrow," she suggests, her fingers brushing against your arm in a gesture that sends a shiver down your spine. "We can find the perfect outfits, something that'll really turn heads."
You hesitate, biting your lip as you consider her proposal. On one hand, the idea of spending the day with Tara, of picking out costumes and imagining how you'll look together... it's tempting. But on the other hand, you can't help but worry about the implications. Going to a party together, dressing up in matching outfits... it would send a message, one that you're not sure you're ready to confront.
"I don't know, Tara," you say finally, your voice hesitant. "Isn't that a bit... much? I mean, we've never really done anything like that before."
Tara's smile never wavers, and she shrugs, her eyes never leaving yours. "So? That's exactly why we should do it," she says, her voice low and persuasive. "It'll be fun, Y/N. Trust me."
You feel your resolve wavering under the force of her gaze, under the promise in her words. You know that Tara's not the type to back down easily, and the thought of disappointing her, of letting her down... it's not something you want to do.
"Okay," you say finally, your voice barely above a whisper. "Let's do it. Let's go shopping tomorrow."
Tara's grin widens, and she leans in and presses a quick, impulsive kiss to your cheek, her lips soft and warm against your skin. "Thank you," she breathes, her voice thick with emotion.
â
The next day, you find yourself being dragged through the mall by an enthusiastic Tara, her eyes bright with excitement as she pulls you from store to store. You can't help but smile at her energy, even as you feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer variety of options available.
"Come on, Y/N," she says, tugging on your arm as she leads you into yet another shop. "This one looks promising."
You follow her inside, taking in the racks of elaborate costumes and accessories. There are superheroes and villains, fairy tale characters and historical figures, each more outlandish than the last. You can't help but feel a bit out of place, your masculine-presenting self sticking out amidst the sea of frills and glitter.
Tara, however, seems right at home. She's already rifling through the racks, her eyes sparkling with delight as she holds up various options for your inspection.
"What about this one?" she asks, holding up a rather revealing pirate costume. "We could be a swashbuckling duo, ready to take on the world."
You flush, shaking your head. "I don't think so," you say, trying to keep your voice steady. "It's a bit too... revealing."
Tara pouts, but she doesn't argue. Instead, she moves on to the next rack, her brow furrowed in concentration. You can't help but admire the way she looks, the way her eyes light up with each new discovery.
After what feels like hours, Tara finally emerges from the racks, a triumphant grin on her face. "I found them," she says, her voice thick with excitement. "Come on, you've got to see."
You follow Tara to the back of the store, where she's standing with a grin on her face and two costumes in her hands. She holds them out to you, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"What do you think?" she asks, her voice low and playful. "Cowboys?"
You take the costumes from her, your heart skipping a beat as you realize what she's suggesting. The costumes are classic Western fare - faded denim jeans, checked shirts, and wide-brimmed hats. They're simple, but effective, and you can't help but imagine how you'll look together, dressed in matching outfits.
"I like it," you say finally, looking up at Tara. "It's perfect."
Tara's grin widens, and she leans in close, her body pressing against yours in a way that makes your breath catch. "Great," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "Let's try them on."
She takes the costumes from you, her fingers brushing against yours in a way that sends a shiver down your spine. She turns and starts to walk towards the changing rooms, her hips swaying with each step.
You follow her, your heart racing in your chest. As you step into the changing room, you can't help but feel a sense of anticipation, a thrill of excitement at the thought of what's to come.
You strip off your clothes, your hands trembling slightly as you pull on the jeans and the shirt. The fabric feels strange against your skin, foreign but not unpleasant. You run your hands over the rough material, marveling at the way it feels, at the way it makes you feel.
When you're dressed, you step out of the changing room, your heart in your throat. Tara's waiting for you, her own costume looking like it was made for her. She grins when she sees you, her eyes roaming over your body in a way that makes you feel exposed, vulnerable.
"You look good," she says, her voice husky. "Really good."
You flush, your cheeks heating under her gaze. "You too," you manage, your voice coming out rougher than you intended.
Tara's grin widens, her eyes sparkling with mischief and something else, something deeper, more intense. She steps closer to you, her body almost touching yours, her hand reaching out to brush a strand of hair from your forehead.
"We make a pretty good pair, don't we?" she murmurs, her voice low and intimate. "Like we were made for each other."
You swallow hard, your heart pounding in your chest. You know you should say something, should respond, but the words catch in your throat, lost in the haze of her proximity, the warmth of her touch.
Tara's hand trails down your cheek, her fingers tracing the line of your jaw, the curve of your lips. You can feel the heat of her skin, the softness of her touch, and you have to resist the urge to lean into it, to close the distance between you.
"Y/N," she breathes, her voice barely above a whisper. "I..."
She trails off, her gaze locked with yours, her eyes searching, questioning. You can see the uncertainty in them, the fear, the hope, and it makes your heart ache.
You reach up, your hand covering hers, your thumb brushing over her knuckles. "Tara," you say, your voice steady, sure. "I..."
You clear your throat, a forced smile spreading across your face as you pull back from Tara's touch. "So, uh, these costumes are great," you say, your voice overly cheerful, almost manic. "I can't wait to wear them to the party."
Tara blinks, her brows furrowing slightly at your sudden change in demeanor. But she recovers quickly, a smile spreading across her own face as she steps back, her hand falling away from your cheek.
"Yeah," she says, her voice a bit hesitant. "They really are perfect."
You nod, your grin widening. "Absolutely," you say, clapping your hands together. "We're going to look amazing, like we stepped right out of a Western movie."
Tara laughs, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You're such a dork," she says, but there's no bite to her words, only affection.
You shrug, playing up the goofy persona. "Hey, someone's gotta be the comedic relief," you say, winking at her. "Might as well be me."
Tara rolls her eyes, but she's grinning now, the tension from earlier dissipating like smoke in the wind. "Alright, cowgirl," she says, poking you in the chest. "Let's go pay for these bad boys and get out of here. I'm starving."
â
The night of the party arrives, and you find yourself standing in front of the mirror, adjusting your costume for what feels like the hundredth time. The jeans fit perfectly, hugging your curves in all the right places, and the shirt is soft and worn, like it's been with you for years. The hat sits at a jaunty angle on your head, completing the look.
You take a deep breath, your heart racing in your chest. You can hear the music thumping from downstairs, the sound of laughter and chatter floating up to your room. You know you should head down, should immerse yourself in the festivities, but you can't help but feel a twinge of nerves.
You turn to look at Tara, who's standing in the doorway of your room, her own costume looking like it was made for her. She grins when she sees you, her eyes roaming over your body in a way that makes your skin tingle.
"You look amazing," she says, her voice low and appreciative. "Like a real-life cowgirl."
You flush, ducking your head in a way that you hope looks cute and not embarrassed. "Thanks," you say, your voice barely above a whisper. "You don't look so bad yourself."
Tara laughs, stepping into the room and closing the distance between you. "Shall we?" she asks, holding out her hand to you.
You hesitate for a moment, your gaze locked with hers, before you finally take her hand, your fingers intertwining with hers. "Let's do it," you say, your voice steady, sure.
Together, you descend the stairs, the music growing louder with each step. The party is in full swing when you enter the living room, the room packed with people in elaborate costumes, dancing and laughing and drinking.
Tara leads you into the fray, her hand still in yours, her body pressed close to yours as you navigate the crowd. You can feel the heat of her skin through the thin fabric of your shirt, the warmth of her breath on your neck, and it makes your head spin.
As the night wears on, the alcohol flows freely, and the party takes on a hazy, surreal quality. You find yourself pulled into the whirlwind of it all, laughing and dancing and drinking until your head spins and your feet ache.
Throughout it all, Tara is by your side, her hand in yours, her body pressed close to yours. The more you drink, the more you notice the way she looks at you, the heat in her gaze, the way her fingers linger on your skin.
At some point, you find yourself in the backyard, the cool night air a welcome respite from the stuffy heat of the house. Tara leans against a tree, her head tilted back, her eyes closed. You stand next to her, your shoulder brushing against hers, the contact sending a shiver down your spine.
"Y/N," Tara slurs, her voice low and thick. "I'm so glad you came tonight."
You smile, your own words slightly slurred. "Me too," you say, leaning against the tree next to her. "It's been a really fun night."
Tara opens her eyes, turning to look at you. Her gaze is intense, focused, and you feel your breath catch in your throat. "It has," she agrees, her voice barely above a whisper. "But it's not over yet."
She reaches out, her hand cupping your cheek, her thumb brushing over your lips. You feel your heart race, your skin tingle where she touches you.
"Tara," you breathe, your voice a mix of desire and trepidation. "What are you doing?"
Tara's smile is slow, seductive. "What does it look like?" she murmurs, her hand sliding down to your neck, your collarbone. "I'm kissing you, Y/N."
And then she does, her lips pressing against yours in a searing, passionate kiss that takes your breath away. You moan into her mouth, your hands coming up to grip her waist, pulling her closer.
The kiss seems to last for an eternity, the world fading away until there's nothing but the two of you, lost in each other.
When Tara finally pulls away, you're both panting, your faces flushed and your eyes glazed. She stares at you for a long moment, her gaze searching, before she leans in again, her lips brushing against yours in a series of soft, teasing kisses.
"God, you taste good," she murmurs, her voice low and husky. "I've wanted to do that for so long."
You swallow hard, your heart pounding in your chest. "Tara," you breathe, your voice barely above a whisper. "Are you sure about this? I mean, we're so drunk, and..."
Tara silences you with a finger to your lips, her eyes locking with yours. "Shh," she says, her voice gentle but firm. "Don't overthink it, Y/N. Just feel."
And then she's kissing you again, her tongue sliding against yours, her hands tangling in your hair. You moan into her mouth, your body melting against hers, your reservations fading away like mist in the morning sun.
Tara's hands slide down your back, cupping your ass and pulling you even closer. You can feel the heat of her through the thin fabric of your jeans, the hardness of her body pressing against yours.
"Fuck," Tara gasps, breaking the kiss to trail her lips down your neck, her teeth grazing your skin. "I want you, Y/N. I want you so fucking bad."
You groan, your head falling back against the tree as Tara's mouth works its magic on your neck, your collarbone, your chest. Your hands slide under her shirt, your fingers skimming over the smooth skin of her stomach, the curve of her ribs.
You and Tara stumble out of the party, your arms wrapped around each other, your steps unsteady and your laughter echoing in the night air. You can barely keep your hands off each other, your bodies pressed close, your lips brushing against each other's skin at every opportunity.
As you make your way back to the apartment, you can't help but giggle at the absurdity of it all. Here you are, drunk and horny and in love, trying to make it through the front door without waking the sleeping beauty within.
"Quiet, quiet," Tara whispers, her voice loud enough to wake the dead. "We don't want to disturb Princess Samantha."
You snort, your hand clamping over your mouth to stifle your laughter. "Shh," you hiss, your eyes watering with mirth. "You're going to wake her up."
Tara just grins, her eyes sparkling with mischief and alcohol. "Let her sleep," she says, her voice conspiratorial. "More time for us."
You shake your head, biting your lip to keep from laughing out loud. Carefully, you unlock the door, your fingers fumbling with the key in your drunken state. Finally, you manage to get it open, and you and Tara tumble inside, your arms and legs tangled together.
You close the door as quietly as you can, your ears straining for any sound of movement from Sam's room. But all is silent, and you breathe a sigh of relief.
Tara, however, is not so subtle. She grabs you around the waist, pulling you close and nuzzling your neck. "Now," she murmurs, her voice thick with desire, "where were we?"
You groan, your head falling back against the wall. "Tara," you whisper, your voice a mix of exasperation and arousal. "We can't. Not here. Sam's right there."
Tara's lips curl into a wicked grin. "So?" she breathes, her hand sliding down your back, your ass. "She's asleep. She won't know a thing.â
You hesitate for a moment, your arousal warring with your common sense. But in the end, the desire wins out, and you practically growl as you scoop Tara up in your arms, carrying her towards your bedroom.
"Y/N," Tara breathes, her arms looping around your neck, her lips trailing kisses along your jawline. "Fuck, you're so strong."
You feel a surge of pride at her words, your steps quickening as you navigate the hallway. You kick open the door to your room, your eyes never leaving Tara's face.
You lay her down on the bed gently, your body covering hers, your lips finding hers in a searing kiss. Tara moans into your mouth, her hands tangling in your hair, urging you closer.
You break the kiss, your breath coming in short pants as you trail your lips down her neck, your teeth grazing her skin. "Fuck, Tara," you murmur, your voice rough with desire. "I want you so bad."
You take your time, savoring every moment as you explore Tara's body with your hands and mouth. You trail kisses down her neck, your tongue darting out to taste her skin, to feel the flutter of her pulse beneath your lips.
Tara arches into your touch, her fingers tangling in your hair, urging you on. "Y/N," she breathes, her voice thick with desire. "Please."
You smile against her skin, your hands sliding under her shirt, skimming over the soft curves of her stomach, the dip of her waist. You can feel the heat of her skin, the way she trembles beneath your touch, and it makes your own body respond in kind.
Slowly, reverently, you peel off her shirt, exposing the creamy expanse of her breasts. You lower your head, your tongue circling one hardened nipple before you take it into your mouth, sucking gently, teasingly.
Tara gasps, her back arching off the bed, her hands fisting in the sheets. "Fuck," she moans, her voice breathy and strained. "That feels so good."
You hum in response, your mouth moving to her other breast, your hand sliding down the smooth plane of her stomach, dipping beneath the waistband of her jeans. Tara lifts her hips, helping you tug the denim down her legs, revealing the lacy black panties beneath.
You pause for a moment, your eyes roaming over the sight of her, spread out before you like a feast. "God," you murmur, your voice rough with awe. "You're so beautiful, Tara."
Tara flushes, a shy smile spreading across her face. "So are you," she whispers, her hand reaching out to cup your cheek. "So are you."
With that, you lower your head, your mouth finding the heat between her thighs, your tongue delving into her folds, tasting her essence. Tara cries out, her hips bucking against your face, her fingers tangling in your hair, holding you close.
You continue your ministrations, your tongue delving deeper, exploring every inch of her. Tara's moans fill the room, her body writhing beneath you, her hands clutching at the sheets.
"Y/N," she gasps, her voice ragged. "Don't stop, please don't stop."
You have no intention of stopping. You're lost in the taste of her, the feel of her, the sounds she's making. You redouble your efforts, your tongue flicking over her clit, your fingers sliding inside her, curling against that special spot that makes her see stars.
Tara's back arches off the bed, her mouth falling open in a silent scream as her orgasm crashes over her. You feel her come undone, her walls fluttering around your fingers, her essence flooding your mouth.
You don't stop, not until she's boneless and spent, her chest heaving with each ragged breath. Only then do you crawl up her body, your lips finding hers in a searing kiss.
"Fuck," Tara pants when you finally break apart. "That was incredible."
You grin, your eyes dark with desire. "We're just getting started," you murmur, your hand sliding down her body, dipping between her thighs once more.
Tara gasps, her hips bucking against your hand. "Again?" she asks, her voice breathy with anticipation. "Already?"
You just smile, your fingers teasing her entrance. "Oh, we're just getting started," you repeat, your voice low and promising. "I'm going to make you feel so good, Tara. Over and over again."
You make good on your promise, your fingers sliding inside Tara once more, curling against that special spot that makes her moan. You can feel her tightening around you, her body tensing as she gets closer and closer to the edge.
"Y/N," she gasps, her nails digging into your shoulders. "I'm so close, fuck, I'm so close."
You increase your pace, your thumb circling her clit, your fingers thrusting deeper, harder. Tara's back arches, her mouth falling open in a silent scream as her orgasm crashes over her once more.
You don't stop, not until she's trembling and spent, her body limp against the sheets. Only then do you pull away, your fingers slick with her essence.
Tara looks up at you, her eyes hazy with satisfaction, a lazy smile spreading across her face. "Holy shit," she breathes, her voice hoarse. "That was... wow."
You grin, leaning down to capture her lips in a soft, tender kiss. "I told you," you murmur against her mouth. "We're just getting started."
Tara hums, her arms coming up to wrap around your neck, pulling you closer. "Then what are we waiting for?" she asks, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Let's keep going."
You take your time, exploring every inch of Tara's body with your hands and mouth. You map out the curves and valleys of her skin, committing every dip and swell to memory. You want to learn her, to know her, to worship her in every way possible.
Tara responds to your touch, her body arching into yours, her hands roaming over your back, your shoulders, your arms. She traces the lines of your muscles, marveling at the strength she feels beneath your skin.
"Fuck, Y/N," she moans, her voice thick with desire. "You feel so good."
You grin, your ego boosted by her praise. "So do you," you murmur, your lips trailing down her neck, your teeth grazing her collarbone. "You feel fucking incredible."
You continue your exploration, your mouth finding her breasts, your tongue circling her nipples. Tara gasps, her back arching off the bed, her fingers tangling in your hair.
"Please," she begs, her voice ragged with need. "Please, Y/N, I need you inside me."
You pause, looking up at her with hooded eyes. "Are you sure?" you ask, your voice low and rough. "Because once I start, I don't think I'll be able to stop."
Tara's grin is wicked, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Then don't stop," she breathes, her legs falling open in invitation. "Don't you dare stop."
With that, you position yourself between her thighs, the head of your cock nudging against her entrance. Tara's breath hitches, her hands gripping your shoulders, her nails digging into your skin.
You pause, giving her a chance to change her mind, to back out if she wants to. But she just looks up at you, her eyes filled with trust and desire, and you know there's no going back.
So you push forward, slowly, carefully, feeling her tight heat envelop you inch by delicious inch. Tara's moan is long and low, her head falling back against the pillows as you fill her completely.
Tara's moan is long and low, her head falling back against the pillows as you fill her completely. Her nails dig into your shoulders, her legs wrapping around your waist, urging you deeper.
"Fuck, Y/N," she gasps, her voice ragged with pleasure. "You feel so good inside me."
You pause for a moment, giving her a chance to adjust, to get used to the feeling of you stretching her, filling her. Then, slowly, carefully, you start to move, your hips rocking against hers in a steady, sensual rhythm.
Tara meets your movements, her hips lifting to meet yours, her body undulating beneath you. The sound of skin on skin fills the room, mixed with your combined moans and gasps, the creak of the bed beneath you.
You lean down, capturing Tara's lips in a searing kiss, your tongue delving into her mouth, tasting her, claiming her. She kisses you back fiercely, her tongue tangling with yours, her fingers sliding into your hair, holding you close.
The world falls away, narrowing down to this moment, this feeling, this connection between the two of you. You lose yourself in Tara, in the heat of her body, the taste of her skin, the sound of her moans.
You pick up the pace, your hips snapping against hers, your cock driving deeper, harder, faster. Tara's breath comes in short, sharp gasps, her nails raking down your back, her fingers digging into your ass, urging you on.
"Y/N," she pants, her voice high and tight. "Fuck, Y/N, harder, please, fuck me harder."
You oblige, your hips slamming against hers, the bed shaking beneath you, the headboard banging against the wall. Tara's moans grow louder, higher, her body tensing, her walls fluttering around you.
You don't forget, of course. As you thrust into Tara, your hand slides between your bodies, your fingers finding her clit. You rub in slow, steady circles, matching the rhythm of your hips, the pressure building with each pass.
Tara cries out, her back arching off the bed, her hips bucking against your hand, your cock. "Fuck, yes," she gasps, her voice ragged. "Right there, don't stop, please don't stop."
You don't stop, not until Tara is a writhing, moaning mess beneath you, her body trembling, her walls clenching around you. You can feel her getting closer and closer, her movements becoming more frantic, her moans more desperate.
"Y/N," she pants, her eyes locked with yours, pleading, desperate. "I'm so close, fuck, I'm so close."
You increase your pace, your fingers moving faster, harder, your cock driving deeper, deeper. Tara's moans grow louder, higher, her body tensing, her nails digging into your back.
"Come for me, Tara," you growl, your voice rough with desire. "Come on my cock, let me feel you."
With a final, keening cry, Tara comes undone, her body convulsing, her walls clamping down around you like a vice. You follow her over the edge, your orgasm crashing over you, your hips jerking, your cock pulsing inside her.
You collapse on top of her, your chest heaving, your heart pounding in your ears. Tara's arms come up to wrap around you, holding you close, her fingers tracing patterns on your back.
"Wow," she breathes, her voice soft, awed. "That was... incredible."
You wake up slowly, your body feeling deliciously sore and satisfied. It takes you a moment to realize that you're not alone in the bed, that you're wrapped around Tara, your limbs entangled with hers.
Memories of the night before flood back - the party, the drinking, the heated make out session in the backyard, the desperate, passionate lovemaking when you finally made it back to your apartment. A blush rises to your cheeks at the thought, your body tingling with residual pleasure.
You shift slightly, your leg brushing against Tara's, and she stirs, her eyes fluttering open. She smiles when she sees you, her hand coming up to cup your cheek, her thumb brushing over your lips.
"Morning," she murmurs, her voice husky from sleep. "Last night was... wow."
You grin, leaning into her touch. "It really was," you agree, your own voice rough with sleep and satisfaction. "Definitely a night to remember."
Just then, a loud clearing of the throat breaks the moment. You both turn your heads to see Sam standing in the doorway, her arms crossed, a smirk on her face.
"Well, well, well," she drawls, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "Looks like you two had quite the night."
You flush, sitting up quickly and tugging the covers up to your chin. Tara just yawns, stretching languidly, seemingly unconcerned by her sister's presence.
"Shut up, Sam," Tara grumbles, her voice still thick with sleep. "We're not doing anything wrong."
Sam just raises an eyebrow, her grin widening. "Could've fooled me," she says, her eyes flicking down to your rumpled clothes, your tousled hair. "You two look thoroughly fucked, if you ask me."
You feel your blush deepen, your mouth opening and closing as you try to find a response. But Sam just waves you off, her smirk never leaving her face.
"Save it," she says, shaking her head. "I don't want to hear the details. Just... try to keep it down next time⊠I always knew this day would come. Mindy owes me 20 bucks.â

Remus is quiet the next day at practice. Or maybe thatâs only in your head. After all, itâs not like he can just shout across the ice at you like he used to at home, not with the rink packed with a dozen other figure skaters practicing before their events today and tomorrow. Maybe itâs only easier for you to imagine he feels as confused and conflicted as you do.Â
Evidently youâd been wrong about the feelings between Remus and Sirius. Or if you were right, Remus hasnât taken notice of it himself yet. But perhaps itâs not your place to assume that you know what he wants. As you learned last night, you donât even know what you want.Â
You didnât realize how badly youâve been wanting to kiss Remus until he did it for you. Your mind emptied out and your body reacted like it had been waiting for years, desperate to feel him, to learn all of him, with your mouth and your hands and the press of your nose against his cheek. Your skin became more sensitive than itâs ever been under his touch. Youâve never felt more aware of your body than you are on the ice, but Remus ignited something different in you. The softest press of his hand made you want to bend and mold yourself to his liking.Â
Ordinarily, youâd be desperate to tell Sirius. Heâs your best friend, your partner, heâs known about every crush youâve had since you were teenagers. But when you woke up this morning, thought about seeing him and divulging every detail from the night before, something odd and unpleasant curdled in your gut.Â
Youâve never had the urge to keep secrets from Sirius before. But this, you find, you donât want him to know. It makes you feel sick even now, going in and out of turns with him while Remus watches you both from outside the boards. Watching your best friend look at you like everything is normal, with all the trust in the world, and knowing that youâre keeping this from him.Â
You feel guilty, though you donât know why. And you donât know if itâs for kissing Remus or for letting Remus kiss you. All you know is that suddenly whenever Sirius looks at you, you feel like youâre holding his heart in your hands, and you arenât certain you can be trusted with it.Â
âThe American is looking at you,â Sirius says as you finish your routine.Â
You glance behind you, catching the eyes of another skater before he looks away. Your face heats.Â
âHe couldâve been looking at you,â you point out.Â
âBabe, there are lots of people here looking at me, but just as many with their eyes on you.â Sirius grins, slipping an arm around your waist. âWe can feed the rumors that weâre together if you want to keep them from bothering you,â he says in a low voice, eyes drooping in a show of flirtation, âbut donât pretend youâre not the most gorgeous thing here.âÂ
Remusâ voice echoes in your head. Youâre beautiful. Your heartbeat pounds. Sirius is watching you with an easy familiarity, waiting for you to either give him the go ahead or tell him to back off. The feeling of his hand on your back makes something tighten in your core, even as that strange guilt spreads through the same area like a blight.Â
You swallow. âWould you be okay to run the death spiral again?âÂ
Sirius blinks. âNow? Itâs a bit crowded for that.âÂ
âI think we can manage.â You move away from his arm, taking him by the hand instead. Your eyes meet Remusâ as you skate to a clear part of the rink. Maybe itâs still only your imagination, but you think he looks as distraught as you feel.Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â âââ
Remus feels like a piece of shit.Â
Heâs known about Siriusâ feelings for you since forever, but youâd looked at Remus like he was still worthy of admiration and apparently that was all it took to bring him to his knees. It felt like the worst possible betrayal of Sirius, who was finally maybe becoming his friend, and then when Remus had tried to reverse course heâd hurt you, too.Â
The way youâd looked at himâsurprised, wounded, uncertain. Remus had been too panicked to give you the explanation you deserved. Heâd left you like that. And though you acted normal at practice today, he can tell heâs left you confused.Â
Weeks of building trust with the both of youâat first unconsciously, but lately with more intention and hopeâand Remus has managed to ruin it in the course of a night. You and Sirius deserve better.Â
Remus wanted to be your friendâif his actions last night were any indication, part of him has wanted to be more than thatâbut heâll have to make it up to you by being your coach. If he canât do anything else, he still can get you through this competition. Heâll leave it up to you to decide if you want anything to do with him after that.Â
And part of being your coach, he reasons, is making sure you get enough sleep the night before competition. He doubts youâll want to see him again, but still Remus knocks on your door to ensure youâre getting ready for bed at a reasonable hour. His heart squeezes when you answer with your toothbrush in your mouth, those sweet pajamas of yours creased and crinkled from the night before. Youâre an angel for making it easy on him, your usual smiley self as you assure Remus youâre going straight to bed and wish him a good night before shutting the door.Â
Siriusâ room is only next to yours. The lights are out, which Remus takes as a good sign, but when he knocks thereâs no answer. He knocks again.Â
âSirius,â he says into the doorframe. âJust say something if youâre going to sleep.âÂ
He waits for a groan or a resentful grumble, but thereâs no sound. He knocks for a while longer. When Remus finally gets out his phone to call his charge, he listens for buzzing in the room, but he doesnât hear it.Â
Sirius picks up on the third ring.Â
It takes Remus a while to find him. Siriusâ instructions were vague and convoluted, partly because he was lost himself and partly because of the way his words were slurring. Eventually Remus locates the other boy on the rooftop of a bar, Siriusâ legs dangling out over the street and a cigarette dangling from his mouth.Â
Remus has to negotiate with the bar manager for a handful of minutes before heâs shown the frightening metal ladder that goes up to the roof. When he sits down beside Sirius, the first thing he does is pluck the cigarette from between his lips.Â
âOi!â Sirius turns to him. Remus sets a hand on his chest, a perhaps overcautious measure to ensure he doesnât lean himself right off the roof. âI thought you were cool about that.âÂ
âNot the night before comp.â Remus steals the cig for himself, looking at Sirius over the glow of the cherry. âDid they just let you up here?âÂ
It takes Sirius a second to catch onto what heâs asking about. âYeah. Why?âÂ
Remus shakes his head, fighting a grin. âYou always get whatever you want, donât you?âÂ
Sirius' laugh is short and bitter. âNot quite.âÂ
He turns away from Remus, and Remusâ heart sinks. For a brief, harrowing moment, he thinks, He knows.Â
Sirius says to the empty night air, âWhy donât we see how we place tomorrow, and you can tell me then if I always get what I want.âÂ
âOh, I see.â Remus takes another drag, relieved. âSo youâve come up here to have a pity party about things that havenât happened yet. Have I got that right?âÂ
Sirius pulls a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. Remus snatches it before he can react. The other boy turns around, angry now. âPiss off, Remus.âÂ
âWish that I could,â Remus says evenly, stowing the pack in his pocket, âbut itâs my job to make sure you perform as well as you can tomorrow. That means working lungs and a clear head.â
Sirius sulks but doesnât try to grab them back. He only looks out into the black night.Â
âSirius,â says Remus, âif youâre worried about whether youâre going to medal, or what medal youâre going to get, thatâs pointless. You canât control how anyone else performs or how you measure up relative to them. All you can do is give your best to your routine.âÂ
âRight. Is that how you thought about it as well?âÂ
âNo,â he admits. âBut you guys didnât hire a competitive teenage prick, you hired a coach.âÂ
Siriusâ mouth kicks up at the corner. âI suppose that is better.âÂ
âI think so,â Remus agrees. He watches the other boy for a handful of moments, sensing an opening. âYou know, when it comes down to it, doing your best might involve doing an actual death spiral.â
Siriusâ expression sours again, but Remus presses on.Â
âI know you could do it if you wanted to. You donât seem to want to, though. I donât get why. At first I thought you might not trust y/n to keep herself level, but obviously youâd trust her with anything. And she trusts you to keep her there, too, so whatâs the issue?âÂ
For a while, it seems as though Sirius might not reply. The silence is thick and heavy. He continues looking out at nothing, at the stars hidden behind thick clouds, but eventually his lips part on a sigh.Â
âShe trusts too easily. She shouldnât be so sure of me.âÂ
Remusâ brows furrow. Something unexpected about getting to know Sirius has been learning how quickly all his brash confidence can crumble away. Itâs almost never when someone else is upset with him; rather, when heâs upset with himself. Remus used to get irritated by the other boyâs bravado, but now heâs just beginning to realize how fragile it truly is. That he never needed to bring Sirius down a peg, because Sirius was almost always already doing it himself. Heâs still not quite used to it.
âLetâs get back,â Remus says gently. âItâs cold up here.âÂ
Sirius doesnât protest as Remus leads him downstairs, watching carefully as he climbs down the creaky ladder. On the street Sirius nearly walks into a brick wall, and Remus takes his elbow in hand to prevent it.Â
âYou know,â he says, ây/n was actually just telling me last night that she was worried she was going to let you down.âÂ
Sirius makes an appalled scoffing sound. âHer? What for?âÂ
âI donât know,â Remus half fibs. âBut it would probably sound equally ridiculous to her that youâre thinking the same thing about her. And from an outside perspective, itâs always seemed to me like youâre perfectly suited to each other.âÂ
Sirius makes a low, whiny sound. Remus startles when he pulls out of his grasp.Â
âNeither of you get it.â He lists sideways.Â
Remus grabs for him, getting an arm securely around Siriusâ waist. He canât help but think that two weeks ago this sort of behavior from Sirius would have irked him, but now he only feels a bemused sort of tenderness. He doesnât understand what Sirius is so upset about, but he can tell itâs not nothing. âExplain it,â he coaxes.Â
Sirius seems almost relieved to have been pulled back. He lets himself lean into Remusâ side. âI donât deserve her trust,â he says in a quiet, mumbly voice. âI donât deserve any of her. I donât know why good people like her and James and you always find me, but Iâm no good at keeping you. Iâll get mean, or selfish, and youâll see. But I canâtââ His voice thins, and Remusâ grip on him tightens unconsciously. âI canât risk losing her. Iâm going to get her hurt, and sheâll stop trusting me, and Iâll have let her down again. I canât do it.âÂ
The pair walks for a while in silence. Remus can feel the shadows of deeper fears swimming underneath the ones Sirius has just divulged to him, but heâs not sure how to respond. Even during Remusâ most spectacular failures of his career, he was at least the only one who got hurt. He was never tied to anyone else, never risked anybody but himself. If he messed up, he suffered the consequences, and that was it.Â
Remus holds Sirius against him as he uses his card to enter the Village. The halls are quiet, most athletes and staff having turned in for the night.Â
âWhen I first started working with the two of you,â Remus says lowly, âI didnât always see why y/n trusted you so much, either. You were a brilliant skater, of course, but you just seemed like such a tosser.âÂ
That works as intended, getting a puff of laughter out of Sirius.Â
âBut I knew I had to figure out a way to work with you, and she just seemed to have complete faith in you. So after a while, I just started trusting that she knew what she was doing. She knew you better than I did, of course, so I figured the two of you had an understanding I just couldnât comprehend. And the longer I worked with you, the more I could see how she was right.
âWhat Iâm trying to say is, it took me a while to trust you, but I came around because I trusted her. You trust her, donât you?âÂ
Sirius has been quiet, but at this, he looks up as though in surprise. âOf course, yeah.âÂ
Remus suppresses a smile. They both fall silent as they pass by your room, eyes catching on the door youâre sleeping behind like thereâs a sirenâs call coming from within. Remus wonders if itâs for the same reasons.Â
After Sirius lets them into his room, Remus continues softly, âSo maybe you ought to give it a try. If you canât trust yourself, trust the faith she has in you. When is she ever wrong?âÂ
He expects Sirius to smile at that, but he doesnât seem to be in the mood for joking. His eyes are big and sad as he sits down on his bed, a quiet sort of asking in them.Â
âI think she could be wrong about this,â he says in a near whisper.Â
Remusâ throat aches with sympathy. He crouches by Siriusâ feet, ignoring the protests of his hip to start taking off the other boyâs shoes.Â
âSheâs not,â he says. âSheâs just smarter than the both of us. Youâre loyal, and brave, and kind. Sheâs always known that, but it took me a while to catch on.â
âIâm not.â Sirius sounds almost desperate.Â
Remus doesnât back down. âYou are.â Frustration and tenderness war inside him. He sets his hands on Siriusâ knees, looking him in the eyes. âWhy would I lie to you?âÂ
A look comes over Sirius face, peculiar only in the moment before Remus recognizes it. Heâs seen Sirius look that way a thousand times. At you.Â
Remusâ heart thumps.Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â âââ
Remusâ thumb strokes over his thigh, and Siriusâ heart does something abhorrent behind his ribs
âSirius.â Amber eyes look into his, warm and earnest and unrelenting. âWhy would I lie?âÂ
Sirius began to sober up as soon as Remus called him earlier tonight. Heâd started drinking to try and rid himself of that pesky, familiar feeling of derealization that had taken hold, but heâd stopped then. Paid his tab and gone up to the roof, where in the cool air Sirius had the powerful, frightening urge to wait for Remus and tell him everything about himself. Tell him every last terrible thing and see if he flinched.Â
Only he hadnât flinched. Heâd taken Sirius home, whatever drunkenness was left lost on the wind during the walk, and taken his shoes off for him, and told him in various words that he was worth something.Â
And now Remus is rubbing the sides of his knees. And his hands are gentle and so are his eyes, and his expression says that he believes it, that Sirius is worth something, and Sirus thinks, Fuck it.Â
If it goes poorly, he can say tomorrow that he was drunk and doesnât remember a thing.
Sirius mashes his lips into Remusâ.Â
A hoarse sound tears from somewhere inside Remus. He pushes against Siriusâ mouth, grabbing fistfuls of his shirt and pressing him backwards onto the bed. The mattress is hard and the frame creaks under their combined weight, Remusâ hand finding Siriusâ throat and wrapping around it like an embrace.Â
Sirius flips them over. Remus lets him, reclining back against the pillow propped along the wall and tugging Sirius closer like someoneâs going to rip him away. He tastes like chocolate and cigarettes. A low whine rises in Siriusâ throat.Â
Remusâ hands loosen their grip. âWait.âÂ
âNo,â Sirius pleads.Â
âArenât youâŠ.â Remus pants. He pulls their lips apart but doesnât go far, resting his forehead against Siriusâ. âIâm confused. I thought you had feelings for y/n.âÂ
Sirius sucks in a breath. âYou know about that?âÂ
A quiet, nervous chuckle. âYeah, love. But youâve just kissed me, soâŠI suppose Iâm wondering what that means.âÂ
Siriusâ heart trembles. âI donât know,â he says. âI donât know.âÂ
âItâs alright.â Remusâ voice is a balm. He kisses Sirius once, a soft peck. âWhat do you feel?âÂ
Sirius opens his eyes and finds Remus watching him. The other boyâs forehead sits a bit higher than his, so Sirius has to tilt his gaze up, feeling cracked open and wretched.Â
âI donât know,â he says again, softer. âIs it bad to want both?âÂ
Thereâs a brief pause. Remusâ brow creases slightly. âI donât think so,â he replies. âBut I have to tell you something.âÂ
Sirius takes his forehead away from Remusâ, putting a couple of inches between them. âGo on, then.âÂ
âLast night, I kissed y/n.âÂ
Sirius braces himself to hide a reaction, but thereâs nowhere to hide from Remusâ perceptive gaze and after a moment, Sirius finds thereâs not much reaction to hide anyway. He doesnât feel upset. The idea of Remus kissing you isâŠwell, itâs not unlike hearing him call you pet names or watching him touch you. Sirius doesnât wish that Remus hadnât done it, only that heâd been there as well. He does sort of wish that heâd gotten to kiss both of you first, though.Â
âI stopped it as soon as my head caught up to me,â Remus goes on. He seems to be studying Sirius, though Sirius has no clue what he might find. âI felt really awful for doing it when I knew you had feelings for her, but now that youâve said that, I think I might have feelings for both of you, too.âÂ
âBrilliant.â Siriusâ heart is hammering, but he does his best to make his voice sound unaffected. âThen what do we do now?âÂ
âââ ââ
ââ
â âââ
You stumble out of bed half-awake. Youâre not even entirely sure if someoneâs knocked on your door or if youâve dreamed it, but your feet propel you there with urgency nonetheless. You rub your eyes as you open it, mouth stretching with a yawn.Â
Sirius and Remus are standing outside, both rumpled but still in their daytime clothes. Their pupils are blown and lips wet and swollen.Â
âWe were wondering,â says Remus, slightly breathlessly, âif you might have a moment.â

A/N : im afraid this is my coping mechanism, oh btw rafe's not in this story i just dont know what i would do with him
The midday sun blazed high, unbroken and blinding, but the sandstorm approached like a golden wave, shimmering in the light. The air grew hot and dry, buzzing with an electric anticipation as gusts began to whip up the ground. In moments, the bright world transformed, the desert around cloaked in a chaotic dance of light and sand.
Grains swirled furiously, each one catching the sunlight, creating a blinding haze of gold and white. Visibility shrank to a few feet, the sandstorm casting the world in a strange, glowing fog. It was harsh, relentless, every breath filled with the sting of earth and sun, an unstoppable force of nature bearing down with brilliant fury.
JJâs feet finally hit the dusty ground, the force of his landing sending a cloud of sand and dirt rising into the air. The narrow alleyway of Essaouira echoed with the sound of his boots hitting the cobblestones as he steadied himself. He clutched the wrapped blue crown in his hands, his knuckles white. âYou good?â I asked, my voice full of concern as I stepped closer to him, eyes scanning his face for any signs of strain.
âIâm good, Iâm good. Iâm better, actually. Iâm great!â JJ said with a grin that seemed to spread across his face like wildfire. He rushed over to me, pulling the scarf from the crown with quick, excited movements. âCause look!â he exclaimed, his voice full of energy.
He held up the crown, now revealed, but it was covered in dust, the rich blue stones clouded by the grime of their journey. Despite the dirt, the crownâs intricate design was unmistakable, its value evident even beneath the layers of dust. My breath caught in my throat as I saw it, this relic, this symbol of everything we had lost. âNo way, oh my god,â I whispered, my eyes wide with disbelief. My grin mirrored JJâs as we both stood there for a moment, taking in the weight of the moment.
JJâs loud cheer broke the silence, ringing out into the alleyway and bouncing off the high walls of the medina. âI... I did it!â he shouted, the sheer joy and relief in his voice undeniable.
I couldnât help but laugh, my heart swelling with pride. âDo you know what this means?â I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, as if I didnât want to jinx it.
âOh yeah, I do,â JJ said, his grin widening. His eyes shone with an intensity that made everything feel possible again. âWeâre getting it back. Weâre getting back our home.â
His words hung in the air between us, full of hope and the promise of a new beginning. I couldnât help but smile as I wrapped my arms around him tightly. âYou did it, baby. You did it!â I whispered in his ear, my heart hammering in my chest.
For a moment, everything felt right, as if the weight of the world had been lifted from our shoulders. But then, a cold chill ran down my spine, and I sensed something shift in the air. JJâs expression changed in an instant, his eyes narrowing as he looked behind me, his body tensing. Without a word, he grabbed my arm and pulled me back, hard. âWait, wait, hey! Go, go, go!â he shouted, his voice urgent, his grip tight on my wrist.
Before I could react, a sharp crack echoed through the air. The sound of a gunshot. The bullet whizzed past us, a split second away from tearing through the space where we had just been standing. My heart skipped a beat, and my body went into full panic mode.
âRun, run, run!â JJ yelled, pushing me forward, his hand at the small of my back, guiding me with the force of his desperation. The narrow streets of Essaouira stretched out ahead of us, winding and twisting like a maze, but we had no time to think, only to move. The sound of the gunshot still reverberated in my ears as we sprinted through the bustling medina, the faded buildings on either side almost closing in on us, the warm air heavy with the scent of saltwater from the distant ocean.
I could hear the sound of heavy boots behind us, pounding against the stones. The mercenaries were closing in. I could feel my lungs burning as I pushed my legs harder, adrenaline fueling every step.
âCâmon, Y/N, we gotta find the others!â JJ shouted from ahead, his voice sharp but full of focus. He had a plan. I could tell by the way he moved, the urgency in his every step. He was determined, but so was I. We had come this far, and we werenât about to lose everything now.
We reached a narrow staircase that led downward into the heart of the maze of Essaouiraâs old city. The steps were uneven, some worn smooth by centuries of footsteps, others jagged and crumbling. We had to be careful as we descended, not just from the chase, but from the danger of slipping on the worn stones. My pulse raced as we moved, the sound of our feet pounding against the stone seeming deafening in the otherwise still air.
JJ called out to me, âHey, Y/N! This way!â His voice came from behind, but I didnât look back. I had a feeling this was our only chance to lose the mercenaries. I kept my head down and pushed forward, following the winding path through the narrow streets and alleys.
Finally, we reached a small open space near the bottom of the staircase, a brief moment of cover amidst the tightly packed buildings. The view of the city below was dizzying, the sea stretched out in the distance, and the maze of whitewashed houses. But I couldnât afford to enjoy the view, or at least not yet. I turned to take a breath, my body trembling with exhaustion, âJ!â I called out and just as I did, I felt a sharp pressure against my neck. A strong arm wrapped around me from behind, dragging me backward with frightening speed.
I gasped, my breath choking in my throat, as I struggled against the iron grip around my neck. My heart hammered in fear. âShh!â The man behind me grunted, his grip tightening, cutting off any chance of air. My mind racedâhow had they gotten so close? Where was JJ?
âQuiet, quiet. Shutââ His voice was low, guttural, as he squeezed harder.
âJ!â I managed to croak out, each word a desperate gasp for air.
âY/N,â I heard JJâs voice, strained but strong, coming from the shadows. My heart leapt as I caught sight of him, standing firm, one arm shielding his face from the dust swirling in the air. âJJ!â I cried, relief flooding my chest, though fear still gripped me.
âLet her go,â JJ commanded, his voice cold but unwavering.
The man behind me stiffened, and I heard him growl, âStop right there.â And that was when the weight of the situation hit me. The voice was unmistakable, Chandler Groff. JJ's biological father.
I swallowed hard, every muscle in my body tense, ready to fight back, but I couldnât move. My body was locked in place, held captive by his suffocating grip. All I could do was let out weak grunts, trying to free myself from the hold, my hands instinctively pressing against his arm in a futile attempt to loosen it.
âDonât move,â Groff ordered, his voice venomous as he squeezed harder. My lungs burned, and I gasped for air. His grip was like iron, and I could feel my vision beginning to blur. I tapped at his arm in a silent plea, trying to signal that I couldnât breathe, but he didnât seem to care.
âYou know what I want,â Groff said, his voice laced with a twisted calm as he extended his hand toward JJ. âGive it to me.â
JJâs voice was barely above a whisper, but it was full of resolve. âJust let her go.â
Groff chuckled bitterly, his breath hot against my ear. âYou couldâve stuck with me, JJ,â he sneered, his words dripping with regret. âThink of what you couldâve had."
I felt the cold edge of a knife press against my cheek, and my breath caught in fear. âBut now,â Groff continued, his voice growing darker, âyouâre going to get nothing.â
I felt his grip tighten again as he hissed, âNothing.â
JJ seemed distant, as if lost in his own thoughts. His eyes, focused but distant, flickered between Groff and the crown in his hand. Then, in a quiet but firm voice, he spoke. âNo.â The word was resolute, cutting through the tension like a blade. He muttered to himself, barely audible, âI already have everything.â
I looked at him, confusion and worry swirling in my chest, but JJ didnât seem to notice. His gaze grew distant, a bittersweet smile tugging at the corner of his lips. âAnd I already have everything Iâve wanted,â he continued, his voice almost hollow, as if he was saying the words to convince himself. âThings that youâll never have,â he added, his smile somehow broken.
Suddenly, without warning, JJ held out the crown, the weight of it now settling between us like a silent challenge. His voice was steady, but there was an edge to it. âYou want the crown?â
Groffâs eyes locked onto the crown, and for a moment, his expression softened, as if the object was the only thing that mattered. âSure, take it,â JJ said, his words cold, almost dismissive. âTake it. I donât want it,â he reassured, his eyes never leaving Groffâs.
âJust⊠let her go,â JJâs voice was low, but there was a sharpness to it now, a finality. Groffâs hand shot out greedily, reaching for the crown. âPerfect,â he said with a grin, his voice dripping with satisfaction. âHold it out.â
âTake it,â JJ repeated, his voice unwavering, no trace of doubt in it. His eyes were locked on Groffâs, his stance firm. âEasy,â JJ added, the words low, but there was something steady about them. He was ready for this. He was ready for this moment to be over.
I could barely breathe, my chest tight as I watched them, my heart racing. My body was still trembling from the fear, but I could sense the shift in JJâs demeanor. His resolve was unwavering now.
âHold it out. Come on,â Groff urged, his hand outstretched, fingers grasping for the prize.
In that instant, JJ pulled me into his embrace, and I gasped as his arms wrapped around me, pulling me close to his chest. I buried my head in his neck, gasping for air, the pressure lifting from my lungs as I felt the safety of his hold. My hands instinctively wrapped around him, holding him tight, as if making sure this wasnât a dream.
âI got you,â JJ murmured, his voice thick with relief. I felt his heartbeat against my cheek, steady and strong. His arms tightened around me as if afraid to let go. âItâs okay,â he whispered again, the words soothing, though his voice still trembled with the remnants of fear.
I pulled back slightly, looking into his eyes, and my heart swelled. âThank you,â I whispered, my voice barely audible, the words heavy with all the gratitude and emotion I couldnât fully express.
JJâs grip tightened, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I felt like everything would be okay.
âJJ.â Groffâs voice sliced through the tense silence like a blade, and JJ stiffened, his body reluctant but yielding. Slowly, he pulled away from me, his movements slow, almost pained, as if every inch away from me felt like a sacrifice. He turned to face Groff, his expression hardening, the relief of the moment slipping away as he steeled himself for whatever was coming.
Groff stood there, his posture relaxed but his eyes sharp, like a predator toying with its prey. âItâs a shame,â he said, his tone low and almost mournful, though there was no sincerity behind it. His voice carried the weight of a long-forgotten history, one that neither JJ nor I could escape from. âYou and me,â Groff continued, his words heavy with regret or perhaps mockery, there was no telling. I stood silently behind JJ, my hands still gripping his shirt, my pulse racing.
Suddenly, I heard the sickening squelch of flesh, and JJ jerked forward, his body lurching as if the world had been ripped out from beneath him. My breath caught in my throat, and I let out a shaky, disbelieving gasp. No, no, no, this canât be happening. My mind was scrambling to process what I was seeing, but everything seemed to slow, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
I heard JJâs groan, a deep, painful sound that tore through the air. My stomach dropped, my heart racing. The knife had sunk deeper. âNo,â I whispered, my voice trembling as my hands shook, my body frozen in place. And then, as if to mark the moment, I heard Groffâs voice, dark and cold as it slid through the air. âYou could have given me the rope,â he murmured, his voice heavy with cruel satisfaction. His tone was like poison, dripping with malice.
Before I could even react, Groff pulled the knife out with a sickening, deliberate slowness. The sound of it tearing through JJâs flesh was unbearable, sending a shudder through me. I watched as the dark blood poured from his side, staining his shirt, his skin. Groff didnât even seem to care, his eyes devoid of any emotion as he took one last, final look at his son.
And then, with an almost casual air, he turned away, walking off as if nothing had happened, as if the pain he caused was nothing more than a fleeting moment in his day.
I couldnât breathe. I couldnât think. My body moved without thinking, rushing forward, reaching for him just in time to catch him before he hit the ground. JJ crumpled in my arms, his body too heavy, too weak to stay upright. His hand instinctively clutched his wound, pressing desperately against the blood that poured from him. His face was pale, his eyes glazed, but still, he tried to hold himself together.
âJJ! No!â I cried out, my voice breaking. I lowered him gently to the ground, my hands shaking violently as I tried to arrange him, to make him comfortable, but nothing felt right. âNo, no, no,â I whispered, over and over, as if saying it could somehow make the horror stop.
JJâs breathing was shallow, ragged, every exhale more painful than the last. His lips parted, his voice barely a whisper, and the words that came from him shattered my heart into a million pieces. "I never told you my wish," he groaned, his hand trembling as he reached up to grab mine. His eyes searched mine with a kind of desperate pleading, but there was nothing I could do to stop the blood that poured from him, nothing I could do to undo the damage.
âJJâ,â I whispered, my voice cracking as tears began to well in my eyes. But his eyes were growing heavier. His body trembled, and I felt him sag against me, his hand slipping from mine. The breath he took was so weak, so labored. It was as if the world was slipping away from him, and I was powerless to stop it.
His lips parted again, and this time, the words that left him were barely a breath. "I already got it" The words were soft, too soft, as if he didnât have the strength to say them. But in that moment, they crushed me more than anything else could.
âNo, no, no, JJ.â I clung to him, my voice barely a whisper, but it trembled with all the fear and desperation I felt. I tried to hold him together, my arms shaking as I cradled his fragile body, willing him to stay with me. âYou canât leave, please donât leave me.â My words cracked under the weight of the pain.
His breath was ragged, barely audible as he managed to speak, his voice strained and faint. "I love you, Y/N." The words came out in a broken gasp, as though they were the last thing he could say.
âI love you too, JJ. So much," I whispered through my tears, my heart shattering with every second. "Please, please don't go. I can't lose you, not now, not like this. You canât leave me." My sobs wracked my body, the reality of the moment crashing down on me, but I refused to let go, even if I knew I was losing him.
And still, there was no response. His body became heavier in my arms, his head lolling to the side, and my chest tightened painfully as I realized how much I was losing. I pressed my hand to his wound, but I knew it was futile. His blood was everywhere, soaking through my fingers, and I could do nothing but hold him as he closed his eyes. I could feel the warmth of his fading life slipping through my grasp.
I felt the tears burning in my eyes as I whispered again, âJJâ
And all I could do was hold him, wishing for a miracle that would never come. The weight of his body in my arms felt like a thousand pounds, each breath he took growing more shallow, more labored. The world around me was nothing but a blur of pain, fear, and hopelessness. My hands were shaking, covered in his blood, and I could do nothing to stop it. "John B!" I screamed again, my voice cracking as I looked desperately around, hoping they would somehow hear me. "Pope!" I yelled, but the words felt hollow, lost in the chaos of my thoughts.
It was like time slowed as I held him, the seconds stretching painfully long. My heart was tearing apart with every breath he struggled to take. Suddenly, I heard footsteps, familiar voices calling out to me. I looked up through my blurry vision, and there they were.
John B and Sarah appeared first, their faces stricken with shock and confusion, but it was the moment they exchanged a glance that I knew they understood the gravity of what was happening. The look between them spoke volumes, a shared recognition that this was life or death.
Then, Pope, Kiara, and Cleo rushed in, their faces mirroring the same horror. Kiaraâs eyes filled with tears, but she bit her lip, fighting them back, while Cleoâs hand trembled as she kneeled down beside me. Everyone was in shock, but the urgency in the air made it clear: something had to be done, and fast.
I couldnât hold back any longer. My body shook with sobs, my chest tightening as I buried my face in JJâs hair, whispering over and over, âPlease... donât leave me.â
Suddenly, amidst the haze of grief, it hit me, the crown. The crown! I gasped, my eyes wide with realization, my voice trembling as I turned to John B. âJohn B, the crown!â I nearly choked on the words. âPlease get the crown back... It could save his life.â I reached for him desperately, my hands gripping his arm. âPlease, it could save him. Groff took it. He has the crown!â
John B and Sarah exchanged a quick look, their minds already working, already on the move. John B nodded grimly. âWeâre getting it back,â he said firmly, turning to Pope, who was already on his feet, determined.
Pope wiped the sweat from his brow, eyes steely with resolve. âWhere is he? Where did Groff go?â he asked, voice low and steady, though I could see the urgency in his eyes.
âSomewhere nearby,â I whispered, choking on my breath. âHe canât be far. You have to find him... the crown can grant a wish... Itâs our only chance to save him.â
They both nodded to each other and immediately sprinted off, their eyes scanning the surroundings, their minds racing to figure out where Groff would have gone.
Meanwhile, Kiara, Sarah and Cleo stayed with me, doing their best to comfort me. But nothing could bring me peace. I was too afraid, too consumed by the image of JJ growing weaker and weaker in my arms. Every second felt like an eternity.
John B and Pope moved through the winding streets of Essaouira with a precision born of desperation. They didnât need words to communicate anymore, their shared focus on getting the crown back drove them forward. They knew the stakes were higher than ever.
After what felt like hours, John B finally spotted Groffâs silhouette in the distance. He motioned for Pope to follow him, and they carefully closed the distance. Groff was standing alone in the alley, the crown glinting in his hands, tucked safely within his grasp. His back was turned, unaware of the approaching threat.
Without a word, John B and Pope charged forward. âGroff!â John B shouted, voice cutting through the air. Groff turned, his face twisted into an amused smirk, as if heâd been expecting this.
âRoutledge, you really are like your father, huh?â Groff sneered, his grip tightening around the crown. âYou had your chance, kid, but now itâs mine.â
John B didn't hesitate. He lunged forward, throwing a punch that Groff barely dodged, but it was enough to send him stumbling backward. Pope followed, using the momentum to land a hard blow to Groff's side. Groff grunted but recovered quickly, his eyes narrowing with fury.
"Youâll never win, you know that?" Groff hissed, drawing a knife from his belt, the blade flashing in the dim light. "Iâve always been one step ahead of you."
John B and Pope exchanged a quick glance, knowing they had to act fast. John B charged again, dodging Groffâs swipe and knocking the knife from his hand. They were both quick, relentless, using every ounce of energy to fight him off.
Groff snarled in frustration as he tried to backpedal, but Pope tackled him from behind, sending them both tumbling to the ground. In the struggle, the crown fell from Groffâs grip, bouncing across the stone street. Without thinking, John B scrambled for it, grabbing the crown and standing up with it in his hand.
âI told you,â John B said breathlessly, looking down at Groff, âweâre gonna take back what's ours.â
Groff, seething with rage, scrambled to his feet, but he knew the battle was lost. He glared at John B and Pope with a venomous look, but he didnât make another move. âThis isnât over,â he spat, before turning and disappearing into the shadows, leaving them standing victorious, but at a great cost.
John B and Pope rushed back to where I was, their eyes scanning the crowd. When they saw me still holding JJ, they didnât need to ask. They knew. John B thrust the crown into my hands, his face filled with determination.
âWe got it,â he said, panting from the exertion.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I stared at the crown, the only thing that could save him. I placed it gently onto JJâs chest, my hands trembling. They all watched carefully as I closed my eyes, whispering a prayer to the universe. "Please, please let this work. I canât lose you, JJ.â
And just like that, I felt a shift, a flicker of hope, a warm light growing from within the crown. The energy seemed to pulse, as if it was answering the wish I had silently made.
The moment the crown touched JJâs chest, a strange warmth radiated from it, spreading through his body. I held my breath, my hands still trembling as I hovered over him, watching, praying for a sign. At first, nothing happened, just the faint rise and fall of his chest, the quiet whisper of his breaths filling the silence around us. But then, a soft glow began to emanate from the crown. It wasnât bright or blinding, but it was enough to make the air feel charged, alive.
A shaky breath escaped my lips as I watched, my heart racing in my chest. I whispered again, my voice barely audible. "Please, JJ."
Suddenly, a jolt of warmth shot through my hands, and I felt the familiar weight of his body beneath me shift. His eyelids fluttered, then slowly opened, a faint groan escaping his lips.
"Y/N..." His voice was hoarse, barely a whisper, but it was there. He was still here. I felt a wave of relief crash over me, overwhelming and dizzying. His eyes met mine, and I saw the faintest hint of recognition.
"J" I gasped, my voice cracking as I leaned down, pressing my forehead to his. I couldn't stop the tears that drop from my eyes "Oh my god, I thought I lost you,"
He blinked a few times, as if trying to make sense of the world around him. His hand trembled as it reached up to touch my face, his fingers brushing against my skin as though confirming that I was real. His voice was still weak, but there was a clarity in his eyes now, a spark of life that hadn't been there moments before. "You're not getting rid of me that easy."
I let out a chuckle as tears streamed down my face, and I couldnât stop them. "J.." I couldnât finish the sentence, my throat too tight, my emotions threatening to overwhelm me.
JJ tried to sit up, but the movement caused him to wince, his hand pressing against his side where the wound still lingered. I gently placed my hand on his chest, stopping him. "Don't" I said sternly.
He gave me a small, weak smile, though it didnât quite reach his eyes. "Iâm not going anywhere, Y/N. I promise."
I couldnât help the laugh that escaped me, a sound of pure relief. I leaned down again, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. "You can't kill a pogue" He mumbled as he looked around at his friends, his voice thick with emotion.
JJ reached up, his hand cupping the back of my head, his thumb gently brushing against my hair.
I closed my eyes, holding him close, savoring the warmth of his body against mine. The crown still rested on his chest, glowing faintly, as though it had worked its magic. I didnât know how, or why, or what kind of power it had, but in that moment, I didnât care. All that mattered was that JJ was alive. He was here. And he wasnât going anywhere.
I looked around at all of them, my heart swelling with gratitude for the people who had fought so hard to get him back. We had all been through so much, but in that moment, we were together. And no matter what came next, we had each other.
For the first time in what felt like forever, I allowed myself to believe that maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay.

This is stupid.
It's a cold october night, the wind blowing in your face, and you're navigating this part of the neighborhood you don't know in nothing but a skimpy red bathing suit, like it's a hot summer day.
Dressing up as Pamela Anderson in Baywatch sounded much better a couple months ago; not now, when all the people passing by ogle your body up and down, whether it be with lust or judgment.
Your night has gone to shit: you feel cold, hungry, tipsy and vulnerable. One thing is wanting to be objectified by the possible candidates you would take home from the party, and other is being eyed by strangers who look at your body like hungry wolves.
You finally spot a mini-market amid the packed street, blue hues of light providing some sense of relief.
After getting something to drink and eat, you'll probably feel better and have the energy to walk home; there's no way you and your very small costume are getting inside an uber at ten o'clock tonight.
The bell chimes in as you enter the store, but the lady behind the counter doesn't even glance your way, focused on the TV behind her.
"Hi" she waves her hand absentmindedly, "Do you have any water?"
She mutters something that sounds like an annoyed of course we do, and points to the freezer in the back, still without looking.
"Alright, thanks" you say, walking to the freezer section and grabbing a bottle you chug until it's almost empty. You're still hungry, but at least your throat doesn't feel like you've eaten sand anymore.
With the bottle in your hand, you take the time to scour around the store, looking for something to eat. You finally decide on some chocolates; heck, it's halloween. Going home and stuffing your face with a bunch of candy for what's left of the night does sound nice.
You finally spot the chocolates on a display, moving towards it. As you're about to grab a bunch and go, another hand interrupts you.
"Oh!" you exclaim out loud, stepping back.
Maybe you're haven't gone trick or treating in years, but you will treat yourself tonight. And not with the chocolates. There's a God out there, definitely, who has blessed you not only with great curves but also with the chance of showing them off in the precise moment.
"Sorry!" your voice chirps a bit too excited for your liking. Control yourself. You clear your throat, suspecting the burn in your cheeks gives you away.
You're supposed to be confident! Flirty and charming! You're young and pretty! But how can you not be nervous when the stranger looks like that?
The eye candy who sports tattoos and a bad boy aroma that makes you drool; the jacket and beat up look just adds the perfect layer to the whole vibe. You're known to have a preference for men who look like he does. Something about the dangerous makes your heart race and skin prickle. Then your eyes travel to the motorcycle helmet in his right hand. Yummy.
The heat in your cheeks returns.
You don't even know his name, yet you've oggled him up and down without shame. It's probably all the pent up energy you had saved for the party. You figure it has to be invested somewhere else. Maybe with him.
Him, who's way older than the other guys you've been with. But that just just makes it even better.
"It's okay" he speaks up, and his voice is not only what you imagined it to be. The rich grave undertone is making your panties wet just with the sound. "You go first"
He points to the stand full of said treats. You motion forward, not without putting some extra sway and effort in your walk. By the reflection of the mirror in the corner, you know you've at least got his attention.
"Done" you say, leaving some space for him to pass. "Would the gentleman give me the honor of knowing his name?"
"I'm Eddie" he extends his hand, "Eddie Brock".
You shouldn't be this excited to shake a hand but when his large palm engulfs yours, you find it hard to let go.
With the closeness, you take another look at his face, getting lost in his warm eyes and the eyebags that adorn them. It's unfair how good they suit him; unlike you after a wild night out.
"Nice to meet you. Very nice, indeed" you purr.
You also make sure to bat your eyelashes in a way your friends tease you but has proven to be effective every time.
It seems to have done its magic, because he also takes a look at you.
But it's different.
You can sense something else is happening when his eyebrows furrow first, then face contorting into a disgusted expression as Venom says: I want to eat her, Eddie. I bet she tastes as sweet as she sounds! It's too tempting!
"Shut up" he mumbles (but loud enough for you to hear), then mutters something like We're just supossed to eat the bad guys! but you're confused and hurt, so you don't really pay attention; your ego really taking a blow tonight.
"I beg your pardon?"
Eddie curses under his breath, "that wasn't for you".
"Right" you chuckle dryly, looking around at the empty store. "Don't see who else that could be for"
"I'm sorry, it's hard to explain" he rushes the apology, looking rather embarrassed. "Now, if you excuse me".
And walks past you like it's nothing. Maybe that weird spark you felt was just on you; the interest isn't mutual.
"Hi Mrs. Chen" you hear him salute the lady behind the counter. Sighing, you grab your chocolates and head to cash out, adding another deception to your already bad night.
The bell chimes again when you make your way to the line, behind Eddie, but this time, you don't bother to look.
"Well, hello" the voice behind you says. It takes you a few seconds to realize they're talking to you.
"Hi" you mutter a bit annoyed, looking at the front. The silence is dense, the beep of each of Eddie's (million) of chocolates being the only silence filling the store.
"Won't even spare a glance, doll?" they continue, despite your clear apathy. "C'mon, lemme see if that face is as pretty as your ass"
Blood rushes to your face, and you're so embarrassed your body stiffs, fully aware the other two people in the store have noticed. You hug your body, because there isn't really anything you can cover yourself with right now, not daring to look back.
Well, fuck me.
If you thought leaving the party was going to solve your problems, it's only proven to cause more.
Eddie finishes, leading to your turn. You give a strained smile to Mrs. Chen, and she just gives you a look of pity.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!" they start to get irritated, and you just pray they don't follow you outside once you're done. "Are you deaf, Pamela?" he mocks, making your blood boil and skin sweat.
Mrs. Chen is done, but the stranger isn't taking your silence as an answer. Before you can leave, they grab your hand.
"Already leaving? You haven't even given me your name yet"
It's such a silly thought to have right now, but you realize you hadn't given Eddie your name either.
"I don't know if you've noticed, but she's clearly not interested, buddy" a voice speaks out, and you know it. It's probably the panic but you hadn't realize Eddie's still here. You hold his gaze for a few seconds, and even thought you hate having to depend on a man to be left alone, you need his help; so you plead, boring into his warm chocolate eyes.
"In case you haven't noticed, this is a two people conversation" the stranger snarls.
"Looks more like a one sided conversation to me" he bites back, making the stranger mad. That's the last thing you need. You just want to go home and curl under your warm and soft blankets; you've even lost your appetite.
"It's none of your business. Are you not understanding?"
"Oh, but that's the problem. You're the one that isn't understanding" what appears to be black surrounds his before bare neck, and you feel like you haven't completely sobered up, your mind playing games with you. The black engulfs his whole body, making him taller and more intimidating.
"It is" he threats on a distorted voice. Now, where Eddie's face used to be, another one replaces him: with white instead of two eyes and a big mouth with teeth and a really long tongue.
You hadn't even drink that much. No way this is real.
The stranger gulps, petrified. Oh, so they see it too; it's not you.
"Sorry, idiot. The lifeguard shift is over" and before the stranger replies, his head dissapear inside the mouth, chopping it off.
"Fuck!" you curse out loud, the body falling limp at your side.
A shiver runs through your back. This is a nightmare.
"Well, now that makes us two who know your secret now" Mrs. Chen adds in a rather monotone voice, and you wonder if people have gone insaneâyou included.
You can't even speak. Less when the black starts dissappearing, and it's Eddie's face and body again.
"Hey, sorry about that" you don't know who Eddie is talking to when saying that. "You okay?"
Okay? Sure, that you are. Fine? Not really.
"It's alright if you're scared" he reaches out to you but you flinch. He looks used to it, apparently, "I know this is weird".
You chuckle, bemused. "Weird? Not even in my wildest acid trip, I could've imagine that"
"It's easy to explain, but hard to understand" he begins, but trails off. "Would you, uh, let me?"
Well, he had saved you. If he wanted to eat you and have you go the same fate your harasser did, he would've done it by now.
Besides, common sense isn't really your strongest suit. Never was. You've had so many problems stem from it, including tonight's events, that you could probably write a column or do a podcast of it.
"Sure" you agree, "as long as you don't eat me".
You regret the (attempt at a) joke as soon as it leaves your mouth, but that is gone when you hear him laugh. A little pride fills your chest, especially at the velvet-like sound.
"I won't" he raises his palms in a playful manner, "but he wants to".
Not anymore, you don't eat the people you save!
"He?" you quirk an eyebrow, "you better rush that explanation, yeah?"
"Sure" he chuckles, "uh?"
"Y/n" you answer, and the honeyed tone is back. God, you need to get a grip. This guy could snap you in, "but just for tonight, Casey Jean Parker. So you better put some good use to it before she leaves, cowboy"
"Will take it into account, blonde" he laughs at your hair.
You hate it because it reminds you of Anne, pussy.
"Hey, it's a good wig!" you playfully slap his shoulder. "You wish you had hair like this".
You flip it, to which he just laughs. Then he bids goodbye to Mrs. Chen and you both head outside, where the wind hits your body cruelly.
A curse leaves your mouth, "Shit"
Eddie notices. Before you can react, he's putting his jacket over your shoulders.
"You got the seasons messed up, baby" he jokes, the pet name rolling off his tongue a bit too easily, "don't even think about taking it off; don't want you to catch a cold".
There's a beat of silence before he asks:
"So, about the costume..."
"I know" you properly put his jacket on. It smells like him: pine, gasoline, sweat and a bit of chocolate. "It sounded better when I came up with it in August"
"No!" he corrects hastily, then coughs "I like it".
Light pink creeps up his cheeks.
"Good to know I still got the charm" you joke, winking.
"Was this" he points with his ringed fingers up and down, "for a contest?"
"No, a party. Jesus, how old do you think I am?" you chastise in a mocking tone. "It's what pretty college girls do, Eddie: party".
Venom likes parties! I like her, Eddie!
"And if that's what you do, pretty girl" two can play the game it seems, "what exactly are you doing out of the water, Ms. Parker?"
You scoff, shocked. "You're supposed to give me your answer first".
Fortunately for Brock, you have a bad habit to overshare; it gets worse, especially with men. God knows you don't know such thing as boundaries.
You lay against the concrete wall, exhaling. Your worries condense in front of you as Eddie waits attentively, examining the way your face falls.
"I was supposed to go to a party today, hence the costume" you motion to your body, "but things went wrong".
"So you went?"
"And left" you add, "which wasn't part of the plan".
He lays next to you, crossing his arms. You try not to get distracted with the closeness.
"Why did you?"
"Leave? Because... well, things happened".
Your skin prickles uncomfortably, like it did back at the house you ran away fromâthe whole reason you're here, next to Eddie.
"That thing being...?" Brock presses, then realizing you probably don't want to tell, so he shuts up.
"Don't worry" it's like you guess his thoughts, "It's just... sort of embarrassing".
You breathe in some air.
"He wasn't supossed to be there. My ex" you clarify, "yet he went. And guess what? With his new girlfriend! And alright, I'm not a girl who holds grudges, but it hasn't even been two months since we broke up and now he's matching costumes with her?"
Saying it out loud sounds a tad bit childish, but Eddie doesn't seem to be judging, and your pride continues to be bruised, so you carry on with your little rant.
"So I drank a little too much and went up to them. I don't know what took over me, but one second I was dancing and then Pamela Anderson in Baywatch was grabbing Pamela Anderson as Tommy Lee's wife by her hair. Real blonde hair, on top of that... that bitch. I decided to be Pamela Anderson first! Which, by the way, would never do that. She truly is a girl's girl" pause, "by that I mean parading around with the guy I ended things with because of you"
We should eat them.
Instead of what Venom said, Eddie asks:
"Your boyfriend cheated on you?"
"Yeah" embarrassment washes over you, "The owner of the house is friend's with her. So, I decided it was for the best to leave. My not so bright idea that followed was to walk to the nearest store for some junk and head home. And now I ended on this side of town I don't know. Lucky me"
Lucky us that found you.
"Wow" Eddie manages to muster after all your information dump and Venom's little comment, "they're idiots. I'm sorry".
"Thanks, but my night is still ruined" you take a look at your legs, "now I have to walk home, and I suspect, bareâwithout your jacket".
He doesn't know what takes over him when he says, or maybe it's Venom giving him the boost of courage he needs.
"Need'a ride?" your face morphs into surprise. He adds, "Keep my jacket. That way you can give it back when we're there"
Your eyes trail to the bike parked on the side, which you guess belongs to him. This is hard because the decision is so easy.
Hey, sometimes you gotta do it for the plot!
"We both win" is his way of insisting. "No more stares, and my jacket gets express delivered to me".
You don't need that much insisting, almost instantly caving in, walking over the bike and hoping behind himâlike you know he'd never hurt you; full on trusting him.
"I don't have a spare one. Use mine" he apologizes, handing you the helmet he carried before.
"Thanks" you accept, "at this point I'll have to pay you. Do you accept my chocolates? It's all I got with me"
"We'll discuss those arrangements later" his deep voice comments, and well, you might just give him anything he wants!
Before you can regret your life choices, the engine roars, Eddie making his way through the street, all your surroundings reduced to a blur.
"Woah!" you shout, but it gets lost in the wind and speed. Luckily for you, the wig is secured inside the helmet. At this speed, there would be a blonde mop on the street somewhere.
"Liking it?" he asks over the noise. You only can happily humm in response.
Honestly, you've never felt this... free before. It's liberating: your hair dancing in the wind, the crisp trepidation in your fingers, the way you dare yourself to let loose and let the experience consume you. It's the first time you truly feel alive.
All you can think now is on the adrenaline coursing through your system. That and the way you're holding onto Eddie's thick back, your arms caging his form. You can feel his heartbeat too, as steady as yours. You can't help but wonder if it's because of the ride or the passenger he's carrying in the back.
You keep giving him directions whenever he looks back, keeping it like that until you both arrive at your apartment complex.
Once the bike is parked, he whistles. "Nice. Much better than mine"
You give his helmet back, taking the wig off in the process too.
"I'll have to see it to believe it" you tease, and if he heard, Eddie pretends not to.
There's some silence until you understand it's over: the original "stuffing and watching horror movies until I sleep" isn't sounding as good as extending your time with Eddie. For some reason, you can't seem to let go yet, and accept that tonight was a rare occasion that will only be once.
"Well, I guess this is it" you hate the way the obvious disappointment drips in your tone, "thank you, Eddie. Goodnight"
You hop off and take the jacket out of your body. If your skin gets goosebumps, you'll blame the cold.
Guess Pamela Anderson didn't work her magic tonight.
"Wait!"
Or maybe she did.
"Yes?" you turn around, smiling a bit too much.
Eddie doesn't look at you when he says, "we didn't discuss the payment"
Your red lips purse into a smile.
"We can discuss the details inside" and point out your apartment on the third floor, "for the cold, obviously. It's warm up there, you know; I've been told they like my heat"
You finally recognize the feeling from before, at the store. It's mutual. The tension; it still lingers.
"Sure" he says sounding all but that, "show me the way".
Your voice drops as you say, "Follow me, then"
And you lead the way: wet spot in between your legs, growing as your excitement. As you open the door, Eddie can't help but think the inside is so you: sweet and girlyâlike a strawberry bubblegum.
"Like what you see?" you joke, sitting in the couch. It has double meaning, obviously, but Eddie is so oblivious he just answers:
"It's so... you" mentally slapping himself when he says it, "I mean... you know, pink"
Idiot! She's talking about herself.
You giggle, "And?"
Patting the empty spot next to you, Brock walks over, like in a trance. You can see him gulpânervous, the adam's apple on his throat bobbing.
Coward! Say something.
"Pretty..." he breathes out.
His hand finds its way to your bare thigh, and the touch is so electric, it takes you a lot not to jump at the contact.
Now kiss her!
"Don't be scared, Eddie" your voice is so low he swears he's dreaming. "I don't bite" there's a pause before you add, "unless you want me to".
Do it!
He would be lying if he said Venom is the reason why he leans forward, wrapping his lips around yours. Why he suddenly feels hungry, starving, eating your mouth out like he hasn't had a meal in days is beyond him.
"That's right" you moan between kisses, "cash your pay out, cowboy".
His hands tug on your hair as he deepens the kiss, a few groans echoing around the apartment.
"I like it" he twirls a strand in between your fingers, "suits you better".
There's a hearty laug emitting from your chest, "you do? Show me then"
It's like something snapped inside of him.
His hand moves to hug you from behind, right at the bare spot the swim suit had.
"You smell so sweet" Eddie's inhaling the vainilla scent off your soft skin, and Venom growls in pleasure, "like a pastry".
You have to laugh again, because this man is clearly touched starved.
Now he's rubbing his nose along the length of your neck, leaving some wet kisses that have you swearing his tongue isn't human. He mumbles incoherences like he's drunk, begging he wants to shove his mouth where it belongs: that being between your legs, to taste what heâs been craving for so long.
"Well, if you want it so bad" you make a play at his earlier words, "eat it".
So with trembling hands, he's pushing the little piece of bathing suit until your clit is exposed. His other hand grips your hip, and it doesn't take that long for him to fall onto his knees, the pink fluffly carpet on the floor providing some ground.
He beggins to toy with it, leaving you to collect a gasp. Alright! He has experience. Not that you ever doubted it, but now that he's here, his fingers inside of you, you can't help but feel the luckiest girl in the world.
"Thought the sweet you wanted was some chocolates" you manage to joke between moans, his thick fingers too busy lubing the needy area.
He gets another moan out of you, "this is better" grabbing a finger out, he licks a bit of your essence left on his fingers, "tastes much better. Look at you, so wet already; good girl"
Now he's doing tight little circles, his thick fingers speeding up the paceâquicker and quicker, until you're writhing in his grip. Your red nail dig into his forearm leaving little crescents. The haze may be too much that you don't know if the way they instantly heal is something you imagined or not.
"P-please, Eddie" you mewl.
Let me try, Eddie.
Without explaining, his tongue begins licking your inner thighs where your liquids dripped. It sends a shiver down your spine, and God, how thankful you are about leaving the party. The consequences of your petty fight and disastrous little adventure didn't end up being so bad.
"Sweet" he exclaims in that distorted voice back from the store. Your eyes go wide, so he rushes an "I'll explain later".
He doesn't give you much time to dwell on it before his tongue finds its way to your core again: the muscle licking the wet folds of your sensitive clit before diving fully. You swear his tongue has gotten longer with the way he explores your warm insides, quickly finding the spot no one but yourself has correctly pleased before.
Soft sobs fall from your lips. "Yes, More! P-please!"
His tongue continues its ministrations, almost lazily against it. Your body tenses up, reacting to him so well, and the familiar warmth pools in your abdomen.
He keeps licking until youâre twitching in over-sensitivity. A groan escapes his drooling lips, "I'm still a gentleman, you know?" the vibration his voice makes in between your legs sends a delicious wave that does nothing but ignite the fire pooling in the low of your stomach. "Ladies first"
You deliciously cum on his awaiting tongue. Even in your haze, you find his eyes, and the previous warm brown looks closer to hungry now, his pupils blown wide.
"Go ahead" you encourage, "be a good boy for me and taste it".
His fingers lick your remains off of them, his tongue making an obscene display.
"Will you let me pay you, now?"
He doesn't even need to wait, his hand eagerly taking his cock out of his pantsâtaking the sweat pants out in record time, sliding his girth between your legs, rubbing it against your folds that give him a warm welcome, coating it in your wetness.
Eddie slides inside you with ease, his hands resting on your waist as he slams his entire length inside you. The couch creaks, the only other sound in the apartment your hiss, because of the initial stretch. He gives you time to adjust and then he starts moving.Â
"Y/n, God. You pretty sweet thing" his hot breathe mumbles against your ear.
Never in your life you would've thought you'd gone home with a complete stranger, but by the way Eddie Brock is deep inside you right now, you may do it more often. Or even better, bring him back. Maybe meet his apartment next time.
Eddie thinks he's gone insane. He's never had sex like this before. Not even on his wildest dreams. Hell, doesn't know if it's the lack of activity before you, your filthy mouth dripping with moans or the way you perfectly wrap around him, or maybe his newfound stamina he could finally put to use, thanks to Venom. Maybe it's all that, but who cares? God, he's loving every second of it.
Eddie uses his hands to grab your ass, holding onto the soft flesh so firm, you'll have bruises tomorrow for sure. He starts pumping you fast and deep like an animal. You muffle your screams against the crook of his neck, fully aware that doesn't stop the paper thin walls from telling your neighbours the good time you're having.
You feel your moves start to get unsteady, your orgasm closer and closer. "I'm c-close" you blurt out and he growls instead of talking. The way your body jolts with each of his poundings is insane. Your friend will never let this go if you tell them. But it just feels so fucking good.
"Fuck!"
Your whole body shakes when the wave of pleasure heats you. His hand is suprinsingly soft, caressing your cheek as you rest your forehead against his to catch your breathe.
"That's the best sex I've ever had" he confesses, his voice sounding drunk. Every drop of alcohol in your system has completely vanished by now, but you feel dizzy too, the overstimulation driving your senses to it's limits.
But it doesn't make you stop.
"How can you rate something that hasn't finished?" you move your body so Eddie stays against the coach. When he realizes what you're trying to do, he half-supresses a moan. "If you want to give your opinion, you better finish the whole plate".
So now you're on top of him, riding his cock like nothing; you must also have a symbiote inside of you, because Eddie can't explain your infinite stamina. So young, so pretty and so goddamn tight; he really won tonight, huh?
The change of position makes his cock slightly change the angle, hitting your g-spot. "Oh my god, right here!" you gasp. Your pussy clenches while you keep bouncing on his dick. If it weren't for the bathing suit, your tits would be bouncing. That doesn't mean he doesn't imagine them, your nipples perking through the fabric making it all too easy.
"You're so perfect" he whispers against your shoulder, "you sweet little thing".
If he keeps calling you like that, you might ask him to stay the night.
You feel like it, so, as a reward, you press your lips against his and he moans at your cunt clenching. He knows you are close again.
"Cum for me, y/n" he demands in his deep voice. Your name in his lips is such an addictive sound, you're sure you've reached heaven.
"Cum with me, Eddie" you manage to say.
So now he sits a little straighter on your poor couch (that's seen and taken only so much) so he can wrap his other arm around your waist. You take him deeper every time, even if now the position makes it a bit uncomfortable, but every shiver of pleasure you get is worth it.
"At least look at me when you do it" his brown orbs bore into yours. You can't hold back any longer, your hips rolling to increase the friction.
Your second orgasm washes over you: toes curling and body shaking. You've never felt more tired and energetic in your life. So you fall in Eddie's strong tattoed arms. He joins you, painting your tight walls with his thick and white shots of cum.
You are both out of breathe but Eddie takes his time and kisses you deeply.
"I think this life guard is out of duty for now" you mumble sleepily against his arms, tracing lazily his tattoos. He chuckles, moving one of his hands to brush strands of your damp hair from your forehead.
"What about the chocolates?" he jokes.
"Fuck them" you yawn, "stay here". He might've heard it wrong.
Stupid Eddie and stupid little human brain. She wants us here!
After some minutes of silence your sleepy voice mumbles, "You didn't explain me anything, cheater. If you want to stay, talk".
He feels you rest your head on his shoulder, sleep taking control of your form. You look so cute, he starts to forget how shitty his life actually is.
Hey! I can hear your thoughts, idiot. Your life isn't shitty anymore, I'm here!
"How about a bed time story? I promise I won't leave any detail out"
You cuddle closer to his warm body, "Promise?"
He intertwines his pinky finger with yours, promising himself this won't be the last time he sees you.
"Promise"

Request: Jason is surprisingly affectionate in private
JASON TOOD X GN! READER
SUMMARY: You're tired, Jason takes care of you
WARNINGS: None, enjoy!
WC: 1.4kÂ
The door to your apartment closed softly behind you as you stepped inside, your body feeling heavy with the weight of the day. Gothamâs chaos had seeped into everythingâinto your bones, into your mind. You were physically and emotionally drained, barely able to summon the energy to hang your coat or kick off your boots. The city had a way of exhausting you, of leaving you with nothing to give. It had been one of those weeksâlong hours, too much stress, too many things left undone.
But when you entered your living room, you didnât expect to find him here. Jason Todd. You didnât even know he was coming over.
He was sprawled out on your couch, leaning back with one leg draped over the side, his arms crossed over his chest as he stared at his phone. There was a mug of coffee on the table in front of him, untouched, cooling. The lights were low, casting a soft glow that made the apartment feel more like a refuge than the outside world ever could.
You paused for a moment, not wanting to disturb himâuntil you noticed the way his posture changed when he heard you enter. His eyes flicked up from his phone, a flicker of surprise crossing his face, quickly replaced by something softer, more concerned.
"Long day?" he asked, his voice quiet, low, the usual edge replaced by a gentler tone.
You nodded, dropping your things in the entryway with a tired sigh. âItâs been a week,â you muttered, rubbing your eyes. âIâm... exhausted.â
Jason didnât respond right away. He just looked you over, his eyes narrowing slightly as he registered the exhaustion on your face, the way your shoulders sagged in defeat. He was used to seeing people at their worst, but he wasnât used to seeing you like this. Not like this.
âCome here,â he said, his voice no longer playful but soft, almost commanding in the way he said it.
You glanced at him, too tired to argue, and slowly made your way over to the couch. Jason shifted, sitting up straighter, making space beside him. Without saying anything, he reached out and pulled your legs onto his lap, arranging them carefully like he was afraid you might pull away, like he was trying to be gentle with you in a way he wasnât always.
âSit,â he repeated, this time with a soft insistence, as if his only goal was to make sure you found some comfort.
You hesitated for only a moment before sitting down next to him, sinking into the couch. He gave you a small, almost imperceptible smile before grabbing the blanket from the back of the couch and draping it over both of you. The weight of it was comforting, the fabric soft and warm. His arm naturally settled around your shoulders, pulling you closer, a silent invitation to rest against him.
"Youâre too stubborn," he muttered, more to himself than to you, but the words were gentle, like a small reprimand for not taking better care of yourself. His fingers rubbed at the back of your neck, slow and soothing. "You push yourself too hard. You need to slow down."
You leaned your head against his chest, letting out a soft breath, feeling the warmth of his body seep into yours. The exhaustion was still there, but now it felt distant. For the first time all day, you didnât feel like you had to be on alert. With him beside you, the weight of everything seemed lighter.
âI donât know how to stop sometimes,â you whispered, your voice barely above a murmur. âI just keep going. Even when Iâm running on empty.â
Jason didnât say anything for a while. Instead, his hand moved from your neck to your back, rubbing in slow, comforting circles as if trying to ease away the tension that had built up over the course of the week. You could feel the softness in his touch, the way he wasnât rushing to do anythingâjust being present.
âYou donât have to do it alone, you know.â His words were quiet but firm. "Let me take care of you for once. Let me help."
You swallowed, your throat tight at the unexpected vulnerability in his voice. It wasnât often that Jason opened up like this. He had walls, thick and impenetrable, built from years of hurt. But tonight, he seemed to be letting those walls fall, just a little.
His hand slid down your arm, pulling you even closer to him, until your head was tucked under his chin. The rhythm of his breath steadied yours, and you felt something in your chestâsomething warm and softâbegin to unfold.
âYouâre always the one taking care of everyone else,â Jason said, his voice barely a whisper. âBut you deserve to be taken care of too. Iâm not going anywhere. Let me help.â
You closed your eyes, trying to push away the tightness that had settled in your chest, the overwhelming feeling that had accompanied the last few days. But his touch, the heat of his body against yours, seemed to make the anxiety fade away, leaving only calm in its wake.
âThank you,â you murmured, not sure if you were thanking him for the moment of peace, or for his willingness to show up when you least expected it. But the gratitude was there, unspoken but felt all the same.
Jason didnât respond. Instead, he reached over and grabbed your tea mug from the side table, gently pressing it into your hands. âDrink. Itâll help you relax.â
You took the mug, the warmth of the tea seeping into your cold hands. You sipped it slowly, savoring the way it warmed you from the inside. Jason sat quietly beside you, his fingers still tracing small, comforting patterns on your arm as he watched you. There was no rush, no pressure to talk, to be anything other than what you were in that moment. He was giving you space to breathe, to let go.
As the tea worked its magic, you felt the tension begin to melt away. Your eyelids grew heavy, your body sinking deeper into the couch as Jason adjusted, his body angling closer to yours.
âLie down,â he said softly, shifting you slightly so you were resting more comfortably on the couch. âYou need sleep. You need to rest.â
You didnât argue. It was too much to argue with him when you felt this goodâwhen his care wrapped around you like a blanket, giving you the comfort youâd been lacking.
He rearranged the pillows behind your head, making sure you were propped up just enough. His hand was never far from you, always resting somewhere on your body, as though he couldnât quite stop touching you. He wasnât smothering you, though. It was a subtle, gentle thingâjust enough to reassure you that he was there.
You closed your eyes, your body relaxed in a way you hadnât felt in days. The weight of the world was slowly lifting, and with Jason beside you, you felt safe.
âYou donât have to do anything,â he murmured, his voice low and steady. âIâll be here. Just sleep.â
You nodded, too tired to say anything more. His hand shifted again, this time moving to your cheek, brushing a stray hair away as he gently cupped your face in his palm. His thumb traced over your skin, soft and slow, and for a moment, it felt like he was taking in every detail of youâevery part of you that had been worn down, that needed healing.
And then, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, Jason leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead. The touch was tender, almost reverent, and when he pulled away, you could feel the gentle brush of his breath against your skin.
âSleep,â he whispered again, the words a soothing balm.
Your eyelids fluttered closed, and you let yourself drift into sleep, the warmth of Jasonâs presence grounding you, keeping you safe in the quiet moments. As you drifted off, you could still feel the steady rhythm of his hand on your back, the softness in his touch, the care he was offering so freely. You didnât need to say anything more. Tonight, Jason had given you what you needed most: peace, tenderness, and a reminder that you werenât alone.

It feels like the whole world is crumbling down. It feels like the Earth should shake, burst on fire, open up and swallow everything around. As dramatic as it is, he kind of expects it to happen, and itâs weird that heâs still sitting here. His ears are ringing, panic rising in his chest with each of Tommyâs words. He watches Tommy get up and head for the door, and heâs frozen to his spot. Itâs not- it canât be. It fucking canât be. âWait,â he finally manages to say, trying to keep his voice from trembling, âdid you just break up with me?â He asks, hoping to any entity that listens that he just misinterpreted it, that he got it wrong. Because- because he canât lose Tommy. Heâs falling for him so fast and so hard. Heâs ready for the next step. Heâs ready to move in together. Heâs ready to talk about one day, eventually, maybe getting married. He knows he wants that. He knows what he wants, and he wants Tommy. âYeah, I guess I did.â Tommy answers, glancing back at him, his expression sad but firm. But Buck knows him. Knows that this mask will crumble into something devastated as soon as he leaves. That Tommyâs heart will shatter, just as Buckâs is right now. He can see through Tommy, he knows that he cares about Buck. It just- it doesnât make sense. What was he even talking about⊠It was all so much, so fast, Buckâs brain is still scrambling trying to understand it all. âBelieve me, I didnât see-â Tommy starts, but Buck shakes his head and interrupts him. âNo.â He stands up, his legs feeling shaky. Tommy fully turns towards him, confusion in his face. âWhat do you mean, ânoâ?â He frowns.
âI mean, no, youâre not breaking up with me.â Buck says more confidently than he feels. Because this canât be it. The last six months, the best six months of his fucking life, canât end like this. Canât end at all. He wonât have this. âI know you care about me. And I care about you. And I donât want to break up.â He sees Tommy open his mouth to speak, his expression hardening â putting on a mask again, trying to hide the hurt. He speaks again before Tommy can. âIf you truly, genuinely want this, not because you think itâs gonna be better for me or you, but because you donât want to be with me, fine, I can respect that. But I wonât accept it without a fight. I- I wanna fight for us, Tommy.â Buck steps closer to him, hoping that Tommy doesnât step back, that might just break him. He doesnât, heâs stuck in place, sad eyes on Buckâs. âLet me fight for us. You-â he adds quickly, on a roll now, not wanting Tommy to interrupt until after heâs done, after heâs said his piece. He needs to say it all now, let Tommy know how he feels. He canât watch him leave without trying to fix it first. Tommyâs looking at him intently, just listening, not even trying to speak. âYou gave me a second chance once, when I fucked up our first date, and I- I want to believe it wasnât for nothing. So- so youâre my first man, so what?â Buck throws his hands up in frustration, he thinks heâs starting to sound a little frantic, speaking faster and faster. He just canât let Tommy leave without him knowing exactly how Buck feels. âItâs far from my first relationship ever. Why- why is it so different just because youâre a man? It shouldnât be. I donât need to date other people, experiment or whatever else. Iâve dated people, slept around, did it all. I know how that goes, how it feels, and I donât want to do it again. I know what I want, Tommy. And I want you. And donât you dare tell me how I feel.â He feels anger seep in, Tommyâs words ringing in his head. What the actual fuck was he thinking? âIâm a grown man, I know how I feel. Yeah, itâs new and exciting, but itâs also real. Itâs real to me, and- and if thereâs any chance of forever, I want to take it. And-â he takes a breath. He feels like heâs been speaking in one breath, feeling a little lightheaded now, his heart hammering. Or maybe thatâs just the panic. âAnd donât start with the whole âIâm not your lastâ bullshit.â He shakes his head again, tears welling up in his eyes, anger still building. Really, what in the world? How could Tommy want to just throw away the most wonderful relationship thatâs happened to Buck in years? Maybe ever? âYou donât know that. I donât know that. Yeah, we could break up one day. But you could also be my forever, and I could be yours. Iâd love a chance to find out, even if it hurts in the end. But maybe thatâs just me. Maybe Iâm the only one here brave enough to risk it. And- and what about my heart, huh?â Tears are threatening to spill, his voice shaking now, with sadness and anger, and desperation. He canât let him go, he canât. âYou said Iâd break your heart eventually. But this, right now? This is you breaking mine.â He finishes, almost panting now, his monologue taking the wind out of him, wanting to say everything on his mind, in his heart. He hopes he got his point across.Â
âEvan.â Tommy just whispers, with a pained expression. There are tears in his eyes, too, one lone one slipping through, falling down his cheek. Buckâs hand itches to reach out and wipe it off, but heâs not sure if heâs allowed to anymore.Â
âGive us a chance, Tommy. Let us fight for this. Fight for me, for us. Fight with me.â Heâs aware he sounds like heâs begging at this point, but he doesnât care. This is too important. âI thought itâs been so good between us lately-â
âIt has!â Tommy rushes to say. âItâs been amazing. You make me so happy. Thatâs why Iâm scared, I just- Iâm sorry, Evan, but I canât let myself get hurt like this again. Because I- Iâve been there before, and it was hard to get back up, and with you- I donât think Iâd be able to ever recover from this one.â He admits, his stone-faced facade crumbling, and Buck can see his own feelings reflected in Tommyâs expression. Sad, devastated, heartbroken.Â
âWe can- we can take some time apart.â Buck says around a lump in his throat. He feels like he canât breathe. All he wants is to rewind until before he dropped the moving in bomb which must be what made Tommy freak out. He could say anything else, and take it slower, and maybe theyâd be on their way out right now, a date night like they planned. âIf thatâs what you need. A break. But not for good. And then letâs come back to it clear-headed, knowing for sure what we want. And if you still want to break up, I- Iâll respect that. But I already know what I want,â he repeats firmly, decisively. âI want a future with you. I want to move in together, and one day down the line get married, and- and I want it all with you. We can slow down if Iâm rushing this. I tend to do that, and if itâs scaring you, Iâm sorry.â He adds, not wanting to backtrack any of this, but aware of how intense heâs coming off. Heâs never been more serious about anything in his life. âBut the past six months have been the best in my life. Iâve never felt so happy, so free, so comfortable, so safe. And Iâm not giving up on you, Tommy. I will fight for you until I canât anymore, until you tell me that you donât care about me and I should just fuck off.â
âEvan. You know Iâll never say that.â Tommy responds quietly.
âI know. Because Iâm confident in us, in the fact that you do care, and you do want me. I know that.â Buck emphasizes, and realizes, not for the first time, that he never felt like this before. This secure. This confident about someone wanting him. âI also know youâre just trying to protect yourself, your heart, and I get it. But I canât let you go without a fight. I wonât. I messed up a lot in my life, and I wonât mess up this. I refuse to. Because I-â he takes a sharp breath, the words pressing on his lips. He doesnât want to say it for the first time in a possible break up, a moment of such anger and devastation. But he needs to put it all out there. Needs Tommy to understand how much heâs trying to throw away right now. âI love you, Tommy.â He confesses, sees Tommyâs face melt into the saddest expression Buckâs ever seen on anyone, tears spilling freely now. Both of theirs, he realizes, feeling wetness on his cheeks. âIâve been falling for you a little bit more with each day we spend together, with each minute. And I know- I hope you feel the same. But if you can look me in the eyes and tell me you donât-â he swallows thickly, the thought alone is too much to bear.Â
âI canât do that.â Tommy interrupts quickly. âOf course I love you, Evan. It happened so quickly it kind of scared me a little.âÂ
âI noticed.â Buck says dryly, and Tommy lets out a humorless chuckle. âIf you ask me, which you didnât, by the way, you decided for both of us, which was an asshole move,â he points out, and Tommy looks away, as if ashamed. Good. Buck loves him, which means heâs gonna call out when heâs acting shitty. âIâd rather give us a real try and get my heart shattered if it comes to this, instead of always wondering what if, always wondering if youâre my one who got away. Which you would be.â
âIâm sorry.â He shakes his head, takes a step towards Buck, now just half a step away. âIâm sorry, maybe breaking up is too hasty. Impulsive,â he scoffs at himself, probably remembering how he called Buck that just a few minutes ago. Well, so maybe theyâre both a little impulsive. Not a problem, in Buckâs opinion. âI donât- I donât want to break up. I never want to be away from you.â He says, his voice barely above a whisper. His hand flinches at his side, like he wants to reach out, grab Buckâs, touch him. Buck hopes he does. âIt just- it seemed too fast. Like you got wrapped up in the moment. Itâs still so new, I thought we were taking it one step at a time, and I didnât-â he takes a deep breath, as if bracing himself, and Buck knows what he says is going to sting â and it does, it feels like a gut punch, actually, âI didnât think you were as serious about this as I was getting. And I realize we shouldâve done the mature thing and talked it out. Iâm sorry. Itâs just, weâve barely talked about any future here. But I want it, of course I do. Iâm just- Iâm scared. My heart has never been in this much danger.â He looks into Buckâs eyes as he says it, more vulnerable than ever. This is everything Buck wants right now, for them to talk, to discuss this, to try fixing it, instead of one of them running away and the other giving up and not fighting for it. Buckâs been there, he doesnât want a repeat.
âTommy.â Buck is the one to close the distance between them, carefully brings his hands up to cup Tommyâs face, giving him a chance to back away, but he doesnât. Instead, he breathes out a sigh of relief, like he craved Buckâs touch as much as Buck craves his. âYou remember when I told you I wanted something with you? Even though I didnât know what that something was yet?â he asks and Tommy nods slightly, Buckâs palms still resting on his cheeks. âIâve been serious about you since that precise moment. About pursuing this, and wanting some kind of future with you. I know I tend to rush into things, itâs been a problem before.â He huffs a self-deprecating laugh. âI tried not to do that with you, but I failed, clearly. I just think from now on, we both should stay and talk and try to work it out if we have any issues with something. If you still want me.â He adds a little anxiously, but relaxed when he feels Tommyâs palms settle on his hips.
âOf course I want you, Evan. I always will.â Tommy says, that loving look in his eyes, that always makes Buckâs heart melt a little. That look that Buck loves so much, that made him think that Tommy might feel the same way.
âGood. Like I said, Iâm not letting you go. Ever.â He says decisively, a huge weight thatâs been there since the topic even started finally lifting off his chest. This might be the best thing thatâs ever happened to him, and no matter the conclusion â which heâs pretty sure will be the happily ever after heâs always craved â itâs worth the risk, itâs worth everything.
âGood.â Tommy echoes, that gorgeous, scrunchy smile of his slowly spreading on his face, and itâs like sunshine came out from behind stormy clouds. âI donât intend on letting you go, either. I love you, sweetheart. And Iâm so sorry for⊠for this mess. For overreacting.â
âThatâs fine, weâre past this- well, actually, we are gonna talk about it more, but at least weâre on the same page now, I hope.â Buck says, slowly leaning in. âI love you so much. I never want to lose you.â
âIâm sorry.â Tommy says again, and Buck just wants him to stop saying it. Itâs fine, theyâre fine now. âYou wonât. You have me for as long as you want. I promise.â
âWhat if I want you forever?â Buck whispers, his face so close to Tommy's, their lips almost brush. It sends a shiver down his spine, like he hasnât kissed him in days, when they just exchanged a quick kiss hello a few minutes ago.
âThat works for me.â Tommy smiles again, and finally dives in for a kiss, but it lasts barely a second before heâs pulling away, Buck trying to follow. Tommy chuckles, running a comforting hand up and down Buckâs side. âBut maybe letâs put a pause on the whole moving in together thing, huh? At least until we fully talk everything through.â
âYeah, good idea.â Buck nods, his gaze flickering between Tommyâs eyes, now sparkling happily, and his pretty, kissable lips. It feels so good to be able to just have a mature conversation and resolve whatever issues arise. If they keep doing that, he thinks theyâre going to be okay. Heâll make sure of that. âNo need to be impulsive,â he adds, his lips twisting into a teasing smirk.
âOkay.â Tommy chuckles quietly, his cheeks reddening. âJust kiss me.âÂ
Buck doesnât need to be told twice. He kisses Tommy like he means it, like heâs his person, like heâs the love of his life, trying to put all those emotions into a kiss. He knows for sure heâs getting the same intent back. And at this moment, in his kitchen, narrowly avoiding losing his love because of a stupid reason, he decides it. One day, not too quickly, but not too far into the future, heâs going to ask Tommy Kinard to marry him. And heâs more than sure of the response heâll get.

yandere genshin men trying to make things right between you
angst, mildly dark themes ayato, neuvillette, pantalone, capitano, dottore, alhaitham
note: trying a new genre.
Neuvillette
Yandere Neuvillette kept forcing you into marriage after your relationship just got established. You asked him to give you some time to think over such radical and responsible change in life, but he was adamant to your pleads. He wanted everything here and now proven officially on the papers. You spent some nights crying because to think that such gentleman-like and solitary person like Neuvillette would force you into marital relationship was eerie. The desire to possess you officially seemed to blind him completely and he went from a loving gentleman to an almost insanely addicted man who did not accept a refusal.
It was your break-time at work when Neuvillette suddenly came up to you. It was odd at first - the judge putting away his duties to meet you seemed almost unbelievable, but remembering how assertive he was in the relationship with you it might have been close to the reality.
âCan I have a moment of your time, love?â He asked you, his hand not reaching to touch you but his gaze was heavy on your face.
âOf course.â
Not longer after the two of you were sitting in the cafeteria - a curious choice for a private conversation. Although you did not deny you seemed much more comfortable in a public place rather than face-to-face with him.
âAbout our marriageâŠâ Neuvillette started, his fingers grazing over his glass of water.
âYou already know my opinionâ, you answered with no emotion. The time to play nice unfortunately came to an end.
But the next response from Neuvillette kind of gave you goosebumps:
âIf I was too harsh on you, I beg of you to forgive me. I have a habit of grasping something dear to me too tightly, and Iâm afraid that I hurt you more than I could possibly imagineâ, he took a pause for a breath and gulped a sip of his crystal clear water. âI genuinely need to know whether or not you still harbour any pleasant feeling towards me?â
âWhat are you saying? Of course I do, NeuvilletteâI admit you were unacceptably rough on me the past few weeks, but it would make me a poor lover if it were to stop me from harbouring affection to you.â
The judge sighed in relief, and then his expression became serious again.
âI would love nothing more than for us to marry, but I realise the circumstances of pushing you too much. Tell me, dear, if you no longer want to proceed in intimate acquiantance with me.â
You shook your head - seems like he was not hearing you. You then took his hand in yours and spelled it again, frankly:
âNo, I want to be with you, wholeheartedly. And the marriage proposal, I shall accept it too.â
Pantalone
When Pantalone kidnapped you for no specific reason, days turned to weeks. You almost forgot about the existence of sunlight as he kept you there like a pretty little porcelain doll for his own amusementâor whatever his nasty reasons might have been.
The last time you tried to escape his gloomy, mysterious castle-like home, you were severely punished for your âbad behaviourâ. Blood dripped down from your chin as you were sitting on the floor of a dark hollow room, chained and bruised by his henchmen. Perhaps he considered it too tacky to touch you with his own hands.
And then he entered. You didn't even want to look at his unapproachable, icy-cold eyes, and simply turned away, your eyes shut and hidden from him.
âHow rough you lookâ, he said with his usual tone which was cold, but at the same time smooth like butter.
You were dehydrated and hungry, thatâs for sure. You wanted nothing more than a warm fuzzy blanket and sweet tea, and forget this nightmare forever.
âWhen was the last time you had a proper meal?â He asked. He knew you never ate his food because youâd consider yourself indebted to him. And you did not want to take anything from this man.
Your face went deadly pale and bewildered when Pantalone dropped on his knees before you and started freeing you from your shackles. His hands were shaking wildly, you could witness how poorly he mastered the lockers due to his stress.
Yet without a single doubt, with no longer time to lose he wrapped his arms around your waist to carry you. His clothes were a little stained with the snow, and a bit of freezing touch made you shiver.
âI will never do this to you anymore. Forgive me. Please, forgive me.â His words that used to be spoken as an order now were slipped from his lips as a request.Â
You were laid in the warmth of the sheets of your own home. The familiar surroundings brought you joy and comfort you never knew youâd forgotten so easily.
âMy butler is cooking a dinner for you in your kitchen.â
He watched the whole time you were eating, guarding you and seeing how desperately you were filling your stomach up. When you finished eating, there was one loud slapâagainst Pantaloneâs face, by your hand. In a normal situation, he would be so angry and furious that the earth would shake of his abhor. But now he was simply taking it.
"I know. I should never have treated you like this. I ignored your wishes and violated your privacy. Iâve done the worst crime to youâI took your freedomâ, he touched the red mark blooming on his cheek from your unexpected punishment. âI wanted to obtain you so much that I ended up hurting you instead.â
Ayato
He was rich to his fingertips. In his world, the only thing he could not have, but wanted to, was you. You found yourself working as his secretary, aesthetically pleasing and always efficient. But Ayato was ruthless; he could never be satisfied, he was always unhappy. The requirements to you were growing day by day, and keeping up the standards seemed an impossible task. His moods were changing like a thunderstorm.
It was a regular day when you were performing your duties that you felt someoneâs presence behind your back. Ayato was not exactly above lurking so he made his presence known after you turned to face him. He did not expect you to turn so rapidly and ended up with his breath tickling against your face.
âY/N, Iâm sorry. I have been too demanding and controlling. My actions driven by raw possessiveness inflicted undesirable effect upon youâ, Ayatoâs words died away, though the expression on his face became even more grim and grave. âYou do not deserve such treatment, any of it.âÂ
You nearly dropped your working papers as you stared at him. Was this man really sincere? How long has he been overthinking about your relationship? It took you just a few seconds to gather your composure and strike him with an indifferent glare.
âItâs always so easy and costs no trouble for you, rich people. You just take what you want without considering either the outcome or other peopleâs feelings. You see people as things, belongings in your possession, and you never have enough.â
At that, Ayato became even more tense, his expression that was mainly seen by the most of people as sweet and gentle, now was an embodiment of darkness. Nevertheless he nodded to you.
âWhat should I do for you to forgive me? Iâm not going to lie and say that I did not think about how harmful my attitude might have been to you for the past month. What think you? Do I even stand a chance?â
âFat chanceâ, you chuckled under your breath. The laugh was almost too bitter rather than sarcastic.
Ayato took your hands in his, his black gloved thumbs rubbing against your skin slightly.
âYouâre like a poison to me. A very addicting one. And the more I see you work for me, the more I want to have you by my side. Not just at a formal eventâŠâ he bit his pale pink lip for a moment. âIâm starting to feel as if Iâd like to see you out of work circumstance, and the thoughts of such impropriety are enough to drive me utterly insane.â
You reciprocated the light squeeze that came from his hands, however yours was less obsessive and more gentle.Â
âIt is a very dangerous thought, Ayato.â
âOh, I can be a very dangerous man. For you, that is.â
Capitano
You were walking in Capitanoâs garden, feeling yourself like a beautiful bird in a golden cage, but in fact you were a princess in a beastâs castle. Once you saw his real face, you kept having nightmares about his skin rotting appearance. This man was scaring you to the bone, and every time you met him, although not very often, you felt how demanding and heavy the gaze of his icy blue eyes was.
You did not see him often, but once a while Capitano requested (no, ordered!) a private dinner with you. The rooms were dimly lit, his loyal butler making preparations to the highest standards as usual, and you - wearing the most luxurious of dresses youâd only be able to peek at in the past. But your face was the odd one as it beared no smile on it. You were gravely terrified by this man who had claimed you as his. And even though you slept in separate rooms, you could not brush the feeling as if he owned you; well, he kind of did, since you dwelt in his mansion.Â
Per usual, you were having a dinner with him at about eight in the evening when Capitano finally spoke. His tone was filled with assertiveness and power, yet the way he was eating, the movements of his hands were elegant enough to remind you of an excellently-educated prince.
âY/N, I need to speak to you.â
You shivered when you heard him, and you let go of the fork. The jingling sound spread across the room which put you even in an unnecessarily bigger predicament.
âYes, sir?â
Capitano hummed - he put his utensils away and looked as if he was carefully choosing his words which was not a habit of his. This Harbinger often talked exactly what he thought and was known for his bluntness. Capitano never beat around the bush and was always straight to the point, and this was one of the personality traits of his that made you feel conflicted. It was both terrifying and worth of respect.
âI want you to stop being scared of me. I want you to see that there is more of me than a horriffic, ugly old beast.â
You gasped: did he just used those unflattering words to himself? It felt so odd and so frustrating.
âWhat feelings do you want me to harbour for you, given our unusual circumstances?â
There was a long pause before Capitano made a sip of his red wine and suggested the following:
âAffection is too much, but could you at least try to be friendly with me? Donât you seeâcanât you see how hard Iâm trying to make your life with me less unbearable?â
Affection⊠friendliness⊠is that what he really needs from you?âyou think.
âIâm a prisoner here, I cannot imagine how I am supposed to show any warm feelings towards you. It would be fake and stupid.â
âThen make them not fake and stupid.â Capitano raised from the table and stormed out of the dining room, leaving you alone in the dim light of candles.
Dottore
You woke up on the plain lab bed, still restrained but this time your pain was drastically diminished. When you opened your eyes the lights did not cut your sight right away and you realised that the room was only dimly lit. You sighed in relief - perhaps he went on a break and you had a few moments of rest from his constant analysis and experiments upon your body.
There were a few tattoos on your hands but too small to even understand their meanings. Perhaps it was something from Zandikâs past that he decided to ruthlessly carve on you.
Your happiness and sense of relief did not last long though, as the man who called himself Doctor entered the room not exactly quietly.Â
âLook whoâs alive. Iâm gladâ, he wrote something on his notes, âvery glad, even.â
âWhat are you going to do to me next? Turn me into⊠abomination?â You attempted to sound sarcastic even though all your being was screaming inside. âIâm pretty sure you have not gotten your fill yet out of me.â
Dottore abruptly stopped writing and dropped his journal on the lab desk next to you.
âI think weâre finished here.â
âWhat?â
âI said youâre free to goâ, he cut your leather restraints with one rough motion that had a vibe of uncertainty of the soul.
You looked at your hands, your body cheered welcoming freedom, but at the bottom of your heart you were perplexed.
âBut why?â
Dottore did not utter a single word more, with his face buried into his other records, he turned away from you completely ignoring your presence.
You found your clothes tidy and repaired on the chair, and put them on quickly. Upon escaping the place you saw that not a single Fatui agent was preventing you from leaving. You looked at the lab once more and a pang of strange kind of sorrow appeared in your heart. Perhaps, you should pay him a visit once youâre recovered? Or was it a bad idea?..
Alhaitham
The nerdy scholar was quite possessive and jealous. He had a very curious but rather depressive personality. You thought him a quiet man until one extraordinary and terrific experience.Â
Alhaitham locked a man in the library for the whole night after he saw him giving you too much attention and you happily reciprocating him. An innocent friendly conversation seemed a blunt flirt to him. He could not bear the thought you having affection to someone else who was not him. When he saw you first he realised that he wanted you to see only him, and give all your attention to him. He craved to see you wanting his company, clinging to him or even agreeing to date him. But since his personality was too aloof and he never ever attempted to simply ask you out, but kept staring at you from the side, stalking unnoticeably and gather all information about you, you never had a chance to learn of his true feelings. Behind his obsession there had to be something, as such strong feelings never came out of nowhere.
Upon seeing you chat with that guy Alhaitham grew so furious that he almost not giving it a thought just slammed the door with the poor guy in the library and left him there for the whole damn night. Blinded by his jealousy, he did not even consider how youâd feel about that. The next morning you were perplexed by the sudden disappearance of your classmate, and once the library opening time came, the student was finally released.
âHow could you do this to him? To anyone?â You asked Alhaitham; it did not take much time to learn whose fault was that.
âHow could I?â He asked you back, his expression grave and unmoveable as if he were not interested in a single thing in the world. âHow could you spend so much time with him? Heâs a total jerk.â
âJudging by what you did the total jerk is you! How could you simply lock the person up? Are you insane?â
Alhaithamâs patience started to grow thinner. He squeezed his hands into the fists so hard that his knuckled turned snow-white.
âAre you stupid? You really donât see how I feel about you? And you keep being so nice to everyone but me. Youâre obviously ignoring me.â
Bewildered, yet you finally understood the root of the case. You stared at him for a few seconds before checking if anyone was near to eavesdrop. Luckily, there was not a soul around so you spoke honestly:
âIf you wanted to woo me, endangering someone was not a good idea. You did something I deem unacceptable. And such unacceptable actions will only make me like you less, Alhaitham.â
Alhaitham leaned closer, his voice was a gentle whisper.
âRight? Then teach me to woo you properly. Iâll do thousands of attempts to win you over, no matter the cost.â You pressed your hands against his shoulders to prevent him from getting into closer proximity with you, and Alhaitham, although not completely willingly, but still backed off.

Josh making that speech about queer people who had to hide, who bear scars, only to punch us in the face the same way we've always been by queerphobic people was certainly a choice. This speech was deeply intentional and the writers wrapped it with a break up out of nowhere. Tommy's insecurities about his relationship with Buck should have been hinted. The only real insecurity we knew was about him being alone, without anyone to have his back. Without a family. He found that and they just erased everything they built up with this character. Also what was the point of Josh making Buck realize his feelings for Tommy in that very same scene only to lead to a heartbreak like we saw for 6 fucking seasons?!
This break up felt like a big fuck you to queer people, especially the ones who came out later and the older ones. It felt like a "you don't deserve love, you only deserve to struggle because you're broken."
I might be negative right now but I'm hurt. Not really about the break up itself, but really about how it happened. It was botched and it felt like a big joke on us.
Is it a stunt? Could be. But that doesn't erase the hurt we feel right now. Of course, we can always say it's a realistic depiction of a relationship gone wrong, but that's not what happened, isn't it? It didn't go wrong. 805 was selling a strong couple. Then we're served with this break up that happened under less than a minute. They could have made them argue and left them on a disagreement but no. They went full break up. Full stop. Six months of a nice relationship and everything is gone because Buck was becoming serious.
Tommy knew that it was Buck's first queer relationship, how, 6 months later, it suddenly became a problem? At 40, you don't spend 6 months in a relationship without hoping it'll last for a while. At 40, when you're craving for a family, craving for finding your people, you try a little harder than that. Is it scary for Tommy? Of course, but after 6 months, he knew Buck, he had to know he was serious enough to try.
#bucktommy#tommy kinard#evan buckley#911 spoilers#sorry had to vent#this episode really happened at a very bad time for me#i'm struggling to cope#it makes no sense and if it's all part of a plan and tommy is supposed to come back later#it still fucking hurts
