guys, I'm getting lots of messages in my inbox about how we should be posting on instagram or facebook about the way Lou was treated etc and can you please stop. like, take a breath. It's one thing to speculate and voice your thoughts/opinions here on tumblr where it's literally just fans being fans, but please don't send that speculation directly to their social media! We don't know how Lou was really treated on set. We don't know how any of them are really treated on set! Lou has stated multiple times that he would be ready and willing to go back to 911 should they call.
I know I post my fair share of speculation, but I try to make it clear that that's all it is! Half of the time I'm just joking around anyway, although I know it's difficult to understand tone over the internet.
Please, have your fun on their social media. I still see nothing wrong with silly hashtags or respectfully voicing your thoughts on things that actually occurred within the show.
I also see no harm in going to abc's official site and sending your thoughts/concerns in that way. Make sure that if you do, you're not sending in speculative thoughts! Speak to what is actually within the show, or the things explicitly discussed in interviews. Tim Minear has done plenty of confirmed shitty things you can write in about, you don't need to add speculation to it.
#oh please guys don't start using buddies techniques#lou is a big guy he'll be fine#he's just a bit sad for his character and also remember: it's a job for him#the longer it lasts the more money he makes and it's NORMAL#acting is his job and he loved working on 911#but it's not our business to go and start talking about how we think he was treated#because we just don't know#and speculations about real life situations are not that#send your respectful support to lou#send your respectful feedback about the show to abc#and keep it nice for everyone!

Okay. I was an editor in chief for 5 years in the past, and I've been a managing editor for 6 years. I had a whole team of journalists and writers, they made interviews of people some you would die to meet, and I interviewed artists who inspired the biggest names in Hollywood, people who are hard to book.
Those buddie clowns shitting on Katey's interview of Lou, only to praise the mediocre one of Oliver (not his fault) made by Pink News, are testing my patience.
Katey's interview is very good. She chose her angle according to where the show left Lou's character. She focused on Lou's experience of this scene and moment of the show as an actor, asked about the creative process, how he felt after such an unexpected turn of events. Note that she was interviewing Lou as an actor who played Tommy on 911. It's a different approach than if he was currently still on the show.
Then you have Pink News, who interviewed Oliver. The angle is supposed to be about Buck being bisexual but the title is clear: it's about buddie. It's about a fucking fanon ship. And Oliver has to answer for the umpteenth time to "is buddie a thing?". Oh and snacks. Yeah, very important question to know about what kind of snacks Buck likes.
So on one hand, you have a journalist asking actual questions after a big twist in an important storyline (Buck's canon love life is a core storyline of the show), and on the other, you have a shipper working for a transphobic queer website asking about a fanon ship.
And you know, actually, both are fine. This is the beauty of editorial. Choose your angle and work with it. It can be fun, it can be serious. But hammering the same question over and over is not an angle, it's an obsession, and not even one you can turn into something good apparently.
#bucktommy#lou ferrigno jr#oliver stark#i mean be for real#i love a light non serious interview#making oliver talk about trivial buck's facts is fun#but this unhealthy obsession with buddie is so cultish

Me, when I've shoved myself on the buddie side to make money off of an 8 year conspiracy theory and scorned Supernatural fans but I'm secretly a Lou Ferrigno jr fan.
Like... this is embarrassing for you. 🤭
#sam should just shut the fuck up for giving her money to musk and israel#she's not a celeb she doesn't need the blue tick to look official#i hope she enjoys her genocide money

i will say lou does seem to talk a lot in his interviews and his thoughts are a little disjointed. but that just shows to me he’s not some pr trained robot who just gives answers where he’s not giving any actual opinions or thoughts. maintaining the company line. he’s a real person who puts real thought into the characters he plays and the scenes he films.
but on the other hand. this is a man who’s grown up with a very famous actor for a father. he’s grown up in the industry. he himself has been acting for years. he isn’t some guy who doesn’t know when to shut his mouth or how to say things carefully.
he talks, he gives unfiltered opinions. but he’s not stupid.
#i think he just talks as fast as he thinks knowing he still has to be articulated because it's an interview#brain jr is going fast

One of the victims on a call recognizes Brad and asks if he’s “that gay firefighter from that show” and he’s like “no my character’s straight” and they’re like “no he’s a repressed catholic, he’s clearly in love with his best friend, you’re lying” and Brad’s like “can you shut the fuck up?” And the whole time Eddie’s standing there like 👀
#i'm so tempted to pirate it live but do i want to stay up until 2 am hmm (no i don't want to)#because things are going to be interesting...

Every time Tommy wants to reach out to Buck, he writes it on a small paper to get it out of his system and throws it in a box to be forgotten. I'm sorry, I miss you (so much), I didn't want to hurt you, I don't deserve you, I'm hurting but you didn't have to. I love you.
And one day, Buck finds the box, unassuming with its old tape and used corners.

Like, why do Bucktommy fans think this sort of thing is acceptable? They raised hell when Buddies were the same with Lou, but Oliver isn't enthusiastic enough about the ship and suddenly he can't act despite you guys never having issues with him before?
how that tweet finds me:
First and foremost please do not go and directly engage with whomever posted that. Feel like that goes without saying but with this fandom you simply never know lol
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: people need to understand the restrictions a series regular faces before they open their mouths.
As a series regular, Oliver’s ability to take on other roles is extremely limited. Ryan’s taken movie roles, but notice he’s taking roles he can fit in while 9-1-1 is on hiatus. The one film he did earlier this year was filmed over a weekend before heading to LA to film s8 of 9-1-1 lol.
To get a movie role, you need a project that’s filming when your schedule is free or your production has to conveniently write you off for whatever the length of the project is. Now 9-1-1 is likely writing JLH off to go do IKWYDLS, but that doesn’t mean they’d be as accommodating should Oliver get a project he wants to film. Look at Jensen Ackles; he had to turn down a number of roles while playing Dean because he couldn’t get time off to go film those projects. I would wager a guess there have been projects Oliver’s also had to pass on because he just couldn’t swing it; just because we don’t hear about them doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It’s a fairly common occurrence.
And ultimately, it’s not lost on me that this line of thinking really only began cropping up post-806. It kinda goes into what I said last night about how the threads of ideas I saw unleashed in my askbox post-806 are still clearly permeating, which I personally don’t feel comfortable with. As you said, we’ve called out people shitting on Lou’s CV or calling him jobless… what are we hoping to accomplish here if it’s the same song and dance just for a different actor lol
#also maybe he's happy with the money he makes with 911#and just enjoys some free time for his other passions when he's not shooting for the show#some people sound like they think actors only have one thing in their life: acting#we know oliver loves photography; he also traveled this summer#let the man be maybe?

People are so divided, I gotta ask:
P.S. no anti-Tommy’s welcome. This is a question for BTs.
#third option: talk to him ffs#they don't talk anymore in this freaking show what is happening?#we used to have characters showing their vulnerabilities to each other and now they all act like teens#sit with buck for 5 freaking minutes and have a nice chat

Everything about Episode 8 is the balm to the beautiful ache left from Episode 7. Susan Bay Nimoy, a Spock joke, Dr Wolf lore, Wolf & Nichols being adorable, visibility and sexuality for older women, Wolf Mommy being such a weirdo but one who loves her son so much and is just bad at expressing it in a way he can receive but her fears felt so real and I genuinely teared up a little. Like their situation is so complicated and as a parent she bears most of the responsibility but he’s well into adulthood now and if he ever does want that still hurting so much he has to at least try to not assume the worst of her! Ericka! Go girl! The end with Wolf & Nichols talk! 💗 ZQ is so fucking expressive with such economy!
Now this is a show that does not flinch! 💖
Carol getting literally single white female’d was the 😬😬😬 of the night goddamn.
Young Muriel is so hot. I mean, so is present-day Muriel, but. The hair, the sundresses, wow!
#between episode 7 and 8 the writing is top notch#beautiful in all aspects#everything feels like a collection of short poems#brilliant minds spoilers

Because by saying nothing you implied that there was something about me that you didn't like. I felt... rejected for years.
BRILLIANT MINDS • S1E08 ↳ “The Lovesick Widow”
#brilliant minds spoilers#when I said this episode was everything 911 806 couldn't be#this is what we should have heard on 911#we're tired of the sad lonely loveless traumatized queer when nice stories with people fighting for their happiness exist#without dismissing the pain and the struggles#wolf said enough and fought for what little happiness he decided to have for himself
