okay so i am listening to tbi again as i write this i was going to do it earlier but didnt for. idk reasons got distracted BUT here i am anyways with my thoughts, so -
obligatory 'old norse mythology' *looks inside* *retrospectively added christianity warping the story* mention cos ahjsgahjgnshnghjengrnfregrhnhrrnnregh. explodes. anyways. you make a really good point about how in modern media, stories are often Very driven by & focused on character dynamics, whereas older stories, up until really quite recently, are often focused more on Plot & Things That Happened, & by extension this makes Loki's role as a trickster god within character dynamics quite complex - because we dont want to see our protagonist doing anything Too Awful or we wont like then & arent invested, But if the story removes things that make loki Actuallu Interesting that it can sort of. fall flat in other ways. like making baldur secretly evil, or alternate universe evil in the marvel comics (taking your word for it i havent read them), is?? a weird choice? like the point of the story, iirc, is that baldur was the specialest golden boy of the universe & everyone loved him & loki thought lol wouldnt it be funny if i got him injured with the only thing that can LMAO (or was it a grudge thing? i forgor :( ). which obviously doesnt work well making her a likeable protagonist in a retelling.
also trickster character lend themselves well to sort of anti hero / rebelling against the system characters, which is probably why reimagining the other gods as tyrants is common & works well - like in the bifrost incident (to my understanding. im not quite sure whats going on in there exactly) even though loki (& sigyn?) have done some pretty bad things its like, welllllllll, the other gods are trying to wreck her cool space train so she's obviously in the right there :). in teh same way how the doctor can commit untold war crimes & he;s still the sympathetic adored protagonist of the show universes specialest guy etc. as long as loki is portrayed to have a righteous cause, which she often doesnt in the myths iirc, she could get away with quite a bit but some retellings kind of...... dont use that
ALSO a while ago i saw a thing saying something like the bits of the thor etc movies where loki is the coolest & most charismatic & most likeable (& most genderWHO SAID THA-), is when he is being the most Problematic, like making people bow before him etc generally causing destruction for funsies, & in parts of the loki show where he literally says 'uhm hi im a narrcissist & im afraid of not being good enough' or whatever he says, it makes him Less Cool because you Want him to be sauntering around causing havoc b/c he can. but they put him in a collar & make him apologise. & then kiss his clone like girl wgat. (i had Thoughts on sylvie as a character but im gonna be honest its been A While since i saw that show so i've mostly forgotten them raghhhh).
but anyways THAT WHOLE THING YOU WROTE IS REALLY INTERESTING /GENUINE you can ramble about loki at me as much as you want hehe :]
Tumblr media
can i talk to you about something norse mythology related which i have been thinking about a lot
YES OF COURsE you definitely can ✨

I finished watching the Loki tv series and after some thinking, now I know what bothers me about the Sylvie x Loki ship and the show as a whole.
Is not the selfcest, that granted gross I know, but I shipped thorki years ago so I have no room to be judging.
it's the girlboss + malewife dynamic they have going on.
I know that sounds hilarious but for real this trope when done right it's amazing, think futurama Leela and Fry, but in this case it was done wrong, and just feels forced and out of character for Loki.
And i think that's also why i think this series feels nothing like a show about well Loki, it feels like they gave him the personality of a typical average joe dumb protagonist and named him Loki, he's a side kick to the incredible, flawless, powerful Sylvie character, she's always smart and strong and Loki is just okay at best and follows her lead and is wooed by her awesomeness in every episode, which doesn't fit the Loki marvel has shown us for years.
Who is this guy? Because sure as hell is not Loki.

(1/2) You guys have renewed some of the hope I had lost in storytelling and people taking stories and characters like this seriously (thanks Marvel, Disney). The more time that passes and the more I hear people praising the Show in one breath and either ignoring or dismissing or sneering at Loki's characterization in Thor 1/Avengers/Thor 2 in the next breath, I can't help but feel that the Loki we got in those three films was a happy accident almost. Because it's obvious that outside of our
(2/3) outside of our (apparently) small corner of the fandom nobody actually cares about him or what he went through or that characterization, and it's disheartening. It just feels, every time I am reminded of the absolute retcon Loki's character went through and people just going along with it and the assholes who have shown just blatant disrespect and maliciousness towards him and his fandom get rewarded, (3/3) it feels like the universe is saying, "This thing that you have become so deeply emotionally invested in, and that you love, and you connect with on a fundamental level, this thing that has given you comfort and has been a source of strength and identity for years, yeah this thing is actually garbage and if you like it then you're wrong." It's just super hard so the fact that you're doing this project is amazing and... thank you. (okay im done)
Thank you so much for the support, sorry that it took us this long to answer, and by the gods do we all feel you. All I can really say, though is this: welcome to the hellscape that is late-stage capitalism.
There are a thousand tumblr posts that talk about this in detail and in multiple different contexts, but it probably cannot be illustrated any more poignantly than with the Loki Series: what we're getting in the name of movies/shows aren't stories, but content, and shitty content at that. Disney and the MCU simply do not care about character arcs or narratives - the sole motive that keeps them churning out project after soulless project is how much money they can squeeze out of each. And since it's the MCU - the most popular film franchise out there, and owned by Disney on top - they can and do pay critics to praise their trash relentlessly, and even if they didn't, there's always going to be far too many people blindly willing to eat up whatever garbage they produce.
They knew how massive and dedicated Loki's fanbase is, they knew exactly how willing far too many fans were to accept even the barest scraps of Loki content, and they knew exactly what to do to keep us willing to watch it - the sheer amount of manipulation that occurred in the trailers and the interviews is frankly insane, and most certainly very, very deliberate. Moreover, Loki is a queer, heavily-other coded, abused character whose most dedicated fanbase consists of women, queer people, neurodivergent people, and other minority groups - it is not a new phenomenon that showrunners actively go out of their way to sabotage characters whose fanbases don't consist primarily of NT cishet men, and are we really surprised the megacorporation still funding Florida's Don't Say Gay bill might torture, dehumanize, and humiliate a queer character on his own show?
In retrospect, it's ridiculous that so many of us - me included, I will admit - actually hoped that the MCU of all possible franchises might give us a decent show about a queer, traumatized, othered victim of abuse who's always represented deviance and rebellion against the status quo. Nobody could have expected the Larry Show to be this nightmarish, but a decent Loki Series... realistically wasn't going to happen in the hellscape that was the year of our lord 2021, not one made by Disney.
Of course, this isn't nearly limited to Disney - Amazon's recent Rings of Power series immediately comes to mind. The Peter Jackson movies had their flaws, but the LOTR fandom almost unanimously loves them because it's evident how much care was poured into the project. The Amazon series, though? HAH.
So while the universe isn't telling us anything, Disney - and Amazon and Netflix and every other corporation you can think of, really - and their bootlickers most certainly are. "Oh, so you want characters and narratives that represent and resonate with you? You want arcs that are satisfying and meaningful? You're dissatisfied with consuming and paying for our garbage content and actually want something that's fulfilling and impactful and made out of any motive beyond relentless profit? Hah, lol no."
Does that mean that they're right?
Hell no. What we all desire and deserve are not products but stories - ones where character arcs and themes actually matter, ones with messages and characters that truly resonate with us, ones crafted and told with love - because stories have connected us all since way before the dawn of human civilization, because stories are inherently a part of humanity, and because capitalism has no right to destroy that, especially not the story of the god of them.
This project is, and always will be, a gigantic fuck you to them all.

As a former mcu fan, and as someone still partially invested in some characters, marvel's fall from grace is not so much funny as it would be to an outsider but it's just kinda frustrating and sad. like. they had this whole amazing concept, all these comics to go off of, and for a while they were really good at it. hate them or love them, marvel has produced some genuinely good content, especially in it's early run when quality still mattered. they had well developed characters and just generally a really cool universe where each of them got their own seperate plotlines but also it all connected and it was just. genuinely good.
in phase 1/2 even the worst movies had some good to them. thor 1 was kinda shitty but loki was an amazing character (don't get me started on him, holy shit im so mad about the tv show, yes half my most popular posts are about it) and it was a good introduction to the extended world. tom hiddleston and chris hemsworth had a great dynamic and both got to be invested in the characters they were playing and made them feel more human. it was a joint effort.
and then, things started to suck. producers stopped giving the actors any sort of creative license, and they started focusing on money, and phase four fucking sucks. i used to be obsessed with every new marvel movie, and now im shocked that there has been over a dozen new movies/shows released. i have watched five, and can only remember one with any sort of real fondness. Loki the tv show i outright hated and he was my favorite character. it was actually, no joke, sad to me.
and now everyone gets to laugh and be like "oh yeah we all knew this was coming" and the thing is that they're right. they're right. but that doesnt make it less frustrating because it could have been so good. it could have been great but now they're putting out products that are retroactively making everything before it suck and now the only watchable movies are the ones that have a real arc outside of the setup/payoff of other movies, and those are almost always the work of individual directors and actors. here are the movies/ tv shows i like and would rewatch, even with all this new shit: Thor Ragnarok, it is one of my favorite movies and i want to scream and laugh about how the new thor movie turned out; both Guardians of the galaxy's, james gunn is a genius and it was so much better when they were completely detached from the rest of the universe; no way home, the only new thing i have genuinely really enjoyed, but that was because of the amazing actors; Agent carter, in my opinion very underrated and i look back on it fondly, it is completely unattached to the rest of the universe; ant man i think was good but i cant remember. thats it. i have not watched moon night and i dont plan to but from what i've heard its pretty good.
the rest is just. completely spoiled by the other movies and it sucks. thor ragnarok should be ruined by its ending but i just. i love it too much to give it up. like it was good, it was genuinely good, and then they ruined it. fuck you corporations, go suck my dick

So I wasn't gonna write anything about this movie, move on and forget I watched it but I need to say a few things just because. Some people really loved the movie and by all means no one is stopping you. This is my own opinion, feelings and thoughts and I'm entitled to say them. Obviously spoiler warning for anyone whos not seen the movie.
This will be a list of every problem I had with the film.
I'll firstly talk about the writing.
Carol is used as a deus ex machina, a mere plot device whenever the writers have run out of ideas. Tony and Nebula are dying in space, guess who coincidently happened to fly by their ship and fly them down on earth. Then she disappears for the most part of the movie only to have her appear at the end of it toooo destroy a ship? Don’t get me wrong I love Captain Marvel and the whole women empowerment message they supposedly tried to pass but in the end Thanos just slaps her away and she stays down. Like. She was just a tool?
There are so many plot holes in the whole time traveling sequence I don’t even know where to begin. Loki is somewhere in some parallel timeline with the tesseract and we completely ignore that. Did this affect our timeline? Did his whole arc with Thor get deleted? Is he dead at the end or alive? Same thing with Gamora. She's dead. But is she? What about her timeline. She got snatched from her time toooo do what exactly. Her relationship with Peter is reduced to a joke, and we don’t even see her with the rest of the crew at the end. What about Nebula? She shot her past self, very lovely too, but shouldn’t she be dead? I have no clue how the time travel works. Im just basing this of off the grandfather paradox. If past Nebula is dead then so should present Nebula. But it may just be that shes dead on a different universe. Very open to interpretation.
Lets quickly mention the Ancient One cause it's bugging me. She has the time stone so she could see the future, as she said "You came 5 years too early" to Bruce when he was looking for Strange, meaning she can read into the future. Yet she somehow doesn't know about this whole apocalypse? Can she only see into a limited period of time, coincidentally right when Strange appears? Isn't she around for quite some time? I'm pretty sure she's 500 years old.
I'll move on to characters, which was one of the worst executed features of the film.
Natasha ends up sacrificing her life to give Clint the chance to live his with his family. We spent the whole film being shown how Clint changed to a vigilante who kills several people, criminals yes but still, and somehow ends up getting to live a happy life and not atone for any of this? Natasha spent her whole life trying to make up for the wrongdoings of her past. Not once has she lived a happy life, Clint got to have a family, he lived happy for several years with them, Nat did not. She shouldn't be the one to die.
Banner, as many others, got reduced to a mere comedy stan and was not explained how the two personalities just merged together. I have the least problems with his character cause "he found peace with himself" but it could've been executed better. In the end he was no fighter as Hulk was nor a genius as Banner.
Thor. I'm. Wtf. So. How do I explain this. When the first Thor movie came out I wasn't a big fan of his character. He was a spoiled prince, doing whatever he wanted, not taking into consideration to anything or anyone. Loki was a much better written character at the time. You could sympathize with him. As the movie progressed though Thor grew into a symbol of strength. He was the God of Thunder. Taikas film didn’t reduce him to a joke, the whole film was a comedy. It worked. His character progressed so much throughout the films. And it is so fucked up to see him like this now. All his scenes in the films are for comedic purposes or out of date pop culture references. I get what they were aiming for. A person mourning can vastly change. But not like this. He should've become secluded, easily angered, pessimistic even. His character arc shouldn’t end on him being an overweight alcoholic just for the shake of adding fortnite to the movie.
Steve. Again. His whole arc got snapped. Steve had found peace with his decision to leave his relationship with Peggy in the past the moment he crashed that plane in the first movie. He even got a new romantic interest along the lines, Sharon Carter. Erased. He ends up going back to be with Peggy. What about her timeline? Who cares right. I can't really explain how this isn't something the Steve I know would do. It's just tying up loose ends.
Lastly. Tony. I'm the most affected by his character fate. He spent his whole life miserable, orphaned at a young age, miserable with his own name as it had brought death upon others through his company, had PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, couldn’t sleep because of his past, being suddenly given a daughter from the writers to give him a mid-happy time, while he was still blaming himself for everything that happened, and in the end he gave up his life. We were, explicitly shown, in the first avengers film, that Tony Stark, wasn’t selfish. He had taken that bomb and flew into that portal to save billions, fully prepared to die. He was sure he was going to die. He proved he had a heart. Multiple times. He did not need to die to prove it again. Personally, I was really invested in his character. I have a similar relationship with my father, my major is the same, I get anxiety like him, and generally I'm not Tony Stark but I had really seen myself in him. And life is full of suffering. It's so, so so wrong of a message to show that one can truly find peace when dead. What I want from a movie is to give me hope. Not this.

I’ve been on your page and reading through your tags, and I’m curious about your ideas on Ragnarok. From your page it look like you like Ragnarok even though most Loki/Tom stans don’t? Im just curious as to why?
So sorry this sat in my inbox for so long! It’s a very loaded question and I wanted to make sure I phrased everything the right way!
Overall, I think Thor: Ragnarok is a very good film. The visual effects, soundtrack, casting, and acting are all phenomenal! All of the actors did a very good job of telling the story the way I think the director, Taika Waititi, wanted it to be told. That being said, there were two big issues with the film that makes me understand why there was such backlash from hardcore fans: the writing and the continuity problems.
I’ll explain the rest under the cut because it’s sort of long.
The biggest issue I had with Ragnarok was the writing. It felt like the script was written to be funny, but it came off as kind of insulting to what came before it in the franchise. I think a lot of the reason people don’t like it is that, if you were a heavily invested fan of the previous Thor movies, you came out of Ragnarok feeling a little mocked. To me, I think that’s a sign of an underdeveloped script and the inability to think of anything else. The infamous play that really mocks Thor: The Dark World is kind of a cheap shot, and so was the lullaby with Thor/Hulk. Taika Waititi used a script that relied heavily on bashing pretty much the entire franchise before it, instead of coming up with new ways for character development. I think this is a very debatable point, but its what I felt after analyzing it.
Also, there were a lot of decisions that didn’t really make sense and were used to simply move the plot along instead of developing an actual story. Ex: Odin dying on a Cliffside in Norway for some reason; the destruction of Mjölnir that didn’t make sense/was never explained; Loki and Valkyrie being immediate enemies with a ton of hostility towards each other with no reason; etc. Again, another sign of poor writing skills to me, but it could just be my interpretation. These very odd choices made the movie seem choppy and seemed only to be used because it was convenient. These are also debatable points, and this is just my observation. (Except Odin’s death and weird speech; I really don’t think that makes any sense in any context, but I didn’t make the movie so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
However (there are always multiple sides), because of the way this movie was written, it became much more appealing to a much bigger audience. People who knew nothing about Thor films, or even Marvel, knew that this was a comedic movie. It had a very self-aware comedic voice that is very funny to audiences at this time. Appealing to as many people as possible is ultimately the biggest goal in any movie, and Ragnarok and Taika Waititi did that very well.
This also leads into my second point; the issue with continuity. I don’t mean like small things props or hair length (look at the Wizard of Oz for terrible hair length continuity, if you’re interested), and I’m not even sure if continuity is the right word. What I mean is, Ragnarok doesn’t fit in with the Thor franchise at all, or even the Marvel franchise. It is very much a comedic movie with action, not the other way around like most Marvel movies. If you watch all three Thor movies, Ragnarok is such an outlier that the studio might as well have started a whole different branch.
Even within Marvel, Ragnarok makes no sense compared to any other film. Maybe Guardians of the Galaxy, but even then GotG cultivated their comedic tone with a lot more consistency and managed to keep it within Avengers: Infinity War. The Thor franchise did not do that. And to add insult to injury, all of the stylistic changes made to Thor were essentially wiped out in Infinity War. Literally, the minute Infinity War starts, Thor is back to the severity and darkness that were more prevalent in The Dark World, Avengers, and Age of Ultron. I don’t know if this was a conscious choice by the studio and will somehow factor into Endgame, or if it was just poor communication between the Russo Brothers and Taika Waititi.
To restate: I think Ragnarok was a pretty good movie. There were a lot of things I didn’t agree with, but I don’t think that takes away the entire value of it. There are a lot of people who really like this film, and I think that’s fair. There are also a lot of people who worked incredibly hard to make this film, and I don’t want to disparage what they did either. The people who worked on Ragnarok this did a fantastic job and should feel proud of what they made. It’s really hard to make a movie, especially something as big as this. I’m a fan that reaps the benefit of many peoples hard work in this franchise, so I try never to take that for granted. (That’s also why I didn’t like making fun of the movies that came before this; someone made those too.)
It’s important to note that I am not unbiased in this review either; I love the entire Marvel Universe, so I’m probably going to cast a much more critical eye than someone who passively enjoys the movies. I’m also a Loki/ Tom Hiddleston Stan (obvi) so I’m much more critical of Ragnarok because it’s the least Loki-centric. Thor and The Dark World focused much more on Loki, so I do like those more. Having Thor once again become the real main character instead of Loki is multifactorial, but I really think its because Chris Hemsworth is now more popular than Tom Hiddleston. A lot has changed between The Dark World coming out, so I think that affected the studio’s view and Chris Hemsworth’s involvement.
I do like Ragnarok, but I see problems with it. I don’t think all the hate on the movie is necessarily fair, but I understand why people feel the way they feel. I don’t want to offend anybody who reads this (if you’ve made it all the way lol), so I think both people who like and who don’t have a pretty good argument. I hope that answers your question and made sense! Thanks for your ask, and let me know if you have any other questions!!

Heyy so i've been a long time fan of your writing and aus and a sort of long time follower of your blog. I just wanted to ask your opinions on infinity war? Because even as a major marvel fan i felt like this movie had a lot of lost potential and in the end wasn't as good as fan reactions have made it out to be? Also while i do love tony what made me slightly annoyed by him in this film is his lack of ability to think clearly and just panicking anytime asked for an opinion or plan?(1/2)
(2/2) and i just felt like it’s wrong the way peter has to fear disappointing him at every turn and just that kind of pressure being placed on him? so yeah just looking for some friendly opinions if this is rude just ignore it. Thank you! (oh also i think i missed when steve called tony the best defender? i cannot for the life of me remember where he says it? thank you for any help!!)
ajsdhjsdsfj anon!!
xDD okay hi, um, idk why youre looking to me for counsel lol im not qualified enough for this, im just a marvel geek but hmm lets see. im one of those fans that really enjoyed the movie?? oop. sorry yeah, i really really loved it for what it was, at least i can tell you why;
1) the villain. marvel has a way of getting me invested in their villains or at least getting me to like them even when theyre hurting the ppl i love. i enjoyed thanos a lot–he was an actual threat (terrifying grapes be terrifying), he wasnt even really pursuing the avengers (only fought them because they were stopping him from achieving his goal) and also i love villains that are morally grey/dark-grey. as far as thanos was concerned he was doing the right thing and so he continued with his plans, these pesky mortals can just *smacks them down*
2) the fighting. you can tell when The Russo Brothers directed a film because the action scenes are always on point *flash back to the fights in winter soldier + civil war* so for the fights alone i was really pumped for that. and they delivered, as tense as i was during most of the fight scenes, i still enjoyed them (esp when people teamed up with their powers/put them to good use: e.g. peter + strange’s portals)
3) the character interactions. i loved the interactions they managed to put in despite the whole Thanos Be Among Us looming threat thing, they checked most of my boxes for those anyway (i.e tony + strange, starlord being starlord, drax being drax, rocket + bucky’s arm, etc.) these little things were what i was actually excited for and i got them so why would i be displeased?? lol
4) flow and character control. with a bunch of characters running around in one film from different universes its easy to become a train wreck and while they were even set in the different countries and planets the story and plot flowed into each other smoothly and it didnt feel like they just shoved a bunch of random supers into one movie just because they could, but have no idea what to do with them (no shade justice league, no shade). Also bearing in mind that these superheroes come from different mcu series with different directors yet they still stayed in character + within their abilities was really relieving to see, it didnt feel like different directors manipulating the characters
5) SOME. OF. THOSE. SCENES. just the scenes in the movie itself made the movie epic for me?? like when we first experience the flying donut and the whole city is in mayhem (i got chills) or when thor crashed into the gotg’s ship or the fight with peter/tony/gotg/thanos, like. there wasnt a time in the movie at all where i was bored or uninterested in the ‘narrative’ i was like yes please give me more.
6) when i was waiting to see iw i didnt even study plot i was just theorizing over who would die and if thanos tortured loki into the Invasion of New York lol so honestly anything that would have happened in this movie would have blown my mind, but even then if it was crap i would have called it out (*cough* thor dark world, avengers age of ultron)
7) its just the first part. i feel like this movie is nothing compared to the epicness thatll happen in part 2 “first we’ll break your hearts, then we’ll blow your mind”. this was like set up to the Real battle you know? and i can safely say none of us are ready, but bring it 2019.
honestly, i enjoyed this movie a lot. i loved the plot, the action, the interactions, the pain and the suffering lol just all of it was phenomenal for me, but theres always difference in opinions and thats okay too but for me this was by a long shot nothing at all like a bad movie; i laughed, i cried, i was in suspense, and i want to see it again honestly thats two thumbs up for me.
(also i didnt find tony was panicking like all the time? the dude straight up was like chillin with pepper–okay bruce came out of a portal, weird–theres a wizard *follows him into portal*–ughhh call steve?? i hate all of you–chaos in the city, lemme just help this lady up real quick–dammit squidward, hulks not working so imma just *nanotech*–wow im trapped on this ship and probably gonna die so okay guys heres the plan, oh wait peter has a better one lemme hear it *actually listens to peter AND strange eventually too like, he was pretty chill to me lmao)
and peter doesnt fear disappointing tony in a severe way; because he doesnt even listen to him half the time LOL yeah tonys his idol, he wanted to make a good impression in homecoming (you wouldnt want to disappoint anyone you love/respect) but like generally peter and tony are cool–their relationship/interactions arent powered by peter wanting to be ‘good enough’ lol he IS good enough, just that sometimes IronDad wants him to be safe and Peter’s like hell naw, imma fight this baddie real quick and you’ll just have to get over the fact that i snuck on board the ship lmao. its a very do first, ask later thing that all teens do–i dig it.
But yeah like i said, maybe the fandom got something from the show you didnt, maybe we saw everything in a different way idk my dude–we just came to have a good time and cry and stuff, because i guess thats what marvel fans do lol. hope that helped you with your own feelings about it ?? at the end of the day, its just a movie (HAHA yeah right) and im not a critic or an expert, just a marvel fan sobbing in misery and anguish–but like,,,the good kind.

My thoughts on Infinity War (spoilers)
Okay I've literally just gotten tumblr because i need to fangirl and no one i actually know will understand the hype i had (and continue to have even though i have seen it) for this movie.
I’ve been looking forward to Infinity War ever since phase 3 was announced and i thought the day where i actually got to see it would never come. I have a crazy investment to these characters and to see them all together was truly phenomenal! Ten years of Marvel built to this movie and you could feel that when watching it.
For me, Infinity War was everything I wanted and more. I went into it with hardly any expectations but a lot of speculations. What actually happened had me shook to the core. I sobbed so much to the point where after the movie my friends took the piss out of me for crying so much. It made me laugh very loudly. I was shaking and shivering the whole movie with anticipation and anxiety for what would happen next because at times i seriously didn't know.
I saw Infinity War at 10am on April the 25th and then for a second time again at 10:15pm later that night and i still can't fully process it but here are my thoughts, feelings and opinions on INFINITY WAR:
......
I don't think I'm going to be able to watch Thor Ragnarok the same ever again. Like this movie legit picks up straight after the wonderful happiness that is Thor 3 and just shits on that warm, light feeling you get in your chest when watching it
I didn't know Heimdall was in the movie so when i first him for a split second i was very excited and happy but then i realised he was going to die and began to get very emotional
Ebony Maw is reallyyyyy creepy
“We have a hulk” had me hollering!!!!!! This is a great call back to the first avengers but also an incredible moment for Loki’s character and development! Going from having that phrase being used by Tony as a threat towards him to Loki having full confidence Hulk has his back! god i love(d) a redeemed king
Thanos going full WWE on hulk oof
Thor and Loki’s relationship is beautifully tragic
Loki calling himself prince of Asgard and Odinson AHHHHHHHHHH :’(
“You will never be a god”
Thor crawling over to Loki’s dead body as this ship breaks apart broke me
Thor deserves the world
Bruce saying Thanos is coming sent shivers down my spine
Tony is so cute talking about having a baby stop
Tony literally carries the flip phone with steve’s number in it around!!!!!!!!!!
Even though Ned was on screen for two seconds he so precious! he better not have died
Bruce not being able to turn into the hulk was great and tony telling wong to look after him
Tony was so fucking sassy omg and Strange was not having it
“Squidward” BITCH I CHOCKED AAHFUDFHAIWOEF
Tony and Peter fighting Cull Obsidian cracking jokes, having a lil convo like it was just another day, another problem
Peter is so pure every time i saw him the second time i watched my stomach dropped
Wong owning Cull Obsidian and transporting him!!
“Wong you’re invited to my wedding”
When peter pulled off his mask going up into space oof my boy looked so good in this movie
The iron spider suit is sooooooooooo cool holy shit
AND Stark’s nano iron man suit is wicked
So much happens in this movie i forget when what happens but lets talk about Wanda and Vision yo they're actually so frickin cute!!
Vision getting all nervous and stumbling over his words
“I feel you” :’(

The Thor and Gamora moment was so pure god we really don't deserve them two
Every interaction between Thor and Peter Quill was hilarious
Thor, Groot and Rocket: a trio I never knew i wanted
Again I have lost where we are but lets talk about Tony and Spidey god i love their relationship
“Have you seen this really old movie Alien”
Again Ebony Maw is actually real scary (and very preachy) but lol when he died
Strange saying he’ll sacrifice Tony and Peter to save the stone but later giving up the stone for tony
Also quickly while Im on that if people are confused as to why he just gave up the stone this is my theory or what i took away from it so basically when Strange went forward in time and saw they could only win one way and then they fail, the next best scenario is not letting Tony or Nebula die because they're deaths would be useless. Thanos was always going to get all the stones and do the snap, killing half the universe but tony wasn't one of them so it would have been a useless death having tony die protecting the stone hence why Strange gave it up (sorry if this doesn't make sense, it does in my head aha)
Peter again just being pure and so happy when he finally becomes an avenger (which only lasts a day...)
Falcon asking where to go and Cap saying “home” :’)
Cap basically telling Ross to fuck off ooooooof go off
Nat’s face lighting up when she sees Bruce (i don't ship it, i just love seeing nat happy)
Cap being a concerned smol bean who i love
T’Challa!!!!!! He didn't have much screen time which is understandable since his movie legit just came out
The White Wolf i love it
Gamora’s flashback was so sad
It killed me when Gamora was asking Quill to kill her if Thanos took her and making him swear on his mother’s life
AND FINALLY THEIR KISS
DRAX THINKING HE’S INVISIBLE
I literally thought Gamora killed him for a second but i knew it was too good to be true
“You should have gone right”
God Chris Pratt’s acting killed me in this! It was phenomenal!!!! I seriously did not expect it from him! The pain he was able to show on his face when he was going to kill Gamora was gut wrenching
It was great to see the reality stone used like that
THEIR I LOVE YOUS
AND GAMORA’S BREAKDOWN WHEN SHE THOUGHT SHE KILLED THANOS I WAS A MESS
Thor deserves the whole cosmos he has lost so much
Chris Hemsworth’s acting was amazing when he was having that convo with rocket
And seeing rocket act so compassionate and empathetically was wonderful
TYRION
Gamora telling Thanos how much he made her hate her life AGAIN SHE DESERVED BETTERRRRRRR
NEBULA MY POOR BABY
Nebula and Gamora another beautifully tragic sibling relationship
Loved that the soul stone was somewhere new and not anything like what everyone was speculating
Red skull i was shook!!! i knew he had been teleported somewhere and not dead!!!!
I SOBBED WHEN GAMORA WAS SACRIFICED SHE DESERVED BETTER
ZOE IS ALSO AN AMAZING ACTRESS
THE SCORE IN THE BACKGROUND
THE SCENE WAS TRAGIC AND SO UNSATISFYING GOD SHE DIDNT DESERVE TO DIE LIKE THAT AT THANOS BENEFIT GODDDDDD
“LITTLE ONE” I HATE HIM BUT HONESTLY THIS BROKE ME
The fight between part of the guardians and Tony, Spidey and Strange was AMAZING IT WAS SUPER SHORT BUT MADE SO GIDDY!!!! It reminded me of the airport scene in civil war!!!
“I’ll do YOU one better. Why is Gamora?”

Thor swinging Rocket’s ship around and continuing to call him rabbit
Thor literally taking on the force and heat of a star
Teen groot picking up the scorching hot Stormbreaker axe (lowkey making him worthy) and making Thor a handle and saving his life
When Thor, Rocket and Groot teleported to Earth i literally squealed!!! For me this was one of the best moments of the film!!! And then Thor just started whooping ass!!!! He truly is the strongest avenger, physically and psychologically.
Thor and Cap’s little moment i love them
“this is my friend tree” “i am groot” “i am steve rogers”
Wanda coming down and saving the day oooof
OKOYE, NAT AND WANDA THE TRIO I HAVE BEEN DREAMING OF

CAP HOLDING THANOS OFF THEN GETTING KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT HAD ME SO SCARED FOR MY BOY BUT I KNEW HE DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH SCREEN TIME TO DIE
Wanda destroying the mind stone AND holding back thanks GOD SHE IS POWERFUL!!!!!!
When Thanos walked up to Wanda and started consoling her and calling her his child i thought he was going to take her and she was going to become the villain
BUT THEN HE TURNED BACK TIME AND GOT THE STONE AND KILLED VISION AGAIN WHICH MEANT WANDA WAS PUT THROUGH ALL THAT PAIN FOR LITERALLY NOTHING AND AGAIN HAD TO SEE HIM DIE
HER “NO” WAS SO CHILLING
THORRRRRR OVERPOWERING THE FUCKING INFINITY GAUNTLET FULL OF ALL SIX INFINITY STONES AND FUCKING LODGING THAT AXE INTO THANOS’ CHEST
“I TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO KILL YOU”
WHEN THANOS STARTED SAYING YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE FOR THE HEAD I KNEW I JUST KNEW
SNAP
OOF
EVERYTHING after this moment was so hectic but so so so uncomfortably calm and eerie. No dramatic scores, no crazy reactions, the avengers literally react the same as we do
Baby Gamora :’((((
“What did it cost” “Everything”
“What have you done?”
The gauntlet busted and destroyed just like my mind
Cap being so utterly confused asking Thor where Thanos went pained me
Bucky’s last words literally being “steve”, reaching out for him, collapsing, disappearing before steve’s eyes. Steve kneeling down placing his hand on where he was (i don't ship them romantically, their friendship is just so incredibly important and it killed me)

THANOS SITTING DOWN WATCHING THE SUN RISE ON A ‘BALANCED’ UNIVERSE
CUT TO BLACK, ROLL TO THE BLANDEST SADDEST CREDITS EVER WHICH NOW MATCHES MY MOOD (I'm not bagging out the credits i thought it was very effective for the movie)
POST CREDIT SCENE CAPTAIN MARVEL BITCHES HURRY UP BRIE LARSON
Well that was it. This literally took me like 3+ hours to write and I'm not even finished. Before i go i want to talk about the main character
THANOS
IMO he is the best marvel villain ever. A thoroughly deep and complex character with a fleshed out motive and backstory. I understood him and for a slight millisecond felt a bit of sympathy for him. This was his story. The relationship between him and Gamora is so complex and compelling (and extremely toxic I'm so sad gamora had to be put through that). I understand he may be different from the comics but this version was great. From the very beginning we were shown just how powerful he is. Over this movie i actually believe he had a slight character development. BUT god do i fucking hate him he has killed and hurt all my faves! The purple grape ballsack can choke when hopefully Thor, Nebula and Tony get their revenge with a little help from Captain Marvel and the rest of the avengers.
AND QUICKLY SUMMING UP MY FAVE PARTS
THE SNAP
Thor, Groot and Rocket landing on Earth
Cap coming out of the shadows
Guardians vs Avengers
Starmora kiss
Now to wait a whole god damn year until Avengers 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
