Two Barnard College students were expelled for disrupting a class at Columbia University on the history of modern Israel — in what appear to be the first expulsions for pro-Palestinian activism on the campus since the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023 attacks.
The protesters — who had been suspended since the disruption last month and barred from campus, including their dorm rooms and dining halls — were notified of their expulsion on Friday afternoon, according to Columbia University Apartheid Divest, the organizers of a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus last spring.
Barnard, the women’s college affiliated with Columbia, released a statement that under federal law, it could not comment on student disciplinary records.
“That said, as a matter of principle and policy, Barnard will always take decisive action to protect our community,” Barnard President Laura Rosenbury said in the statement.
“When rules are broken, when there is no remorse, no reflection, and no willingness to change, we must act. Expulsion is always an extraordinary measure, but so too is our commitment to respect, inclusion, and the integrity of the academic experience.”
The heightened discipline comes amid renewed pressure from the federal government to root out any protest activity that could be seen as antisemitic.
Columbia became the epicenter for campus protests last spring after former Columbia President Minouche Shafik’s decision to call the police launched a series of copycat encampments across the country. The demonstrations came to a head in April when protesters occupied an academic building, Hamilton Hall, spurring another call to the NYPD.
Within the first couple weeks of his presidency, Trump’s Education Department launched a civil rights probe into allegations of Jewish hatred at Columbia. His administration has also promised to deport campus demonstrators on student visas.
On Jan. 21, the first day of the spring semester, protesters disrupted a graduate program class — the History of Modern Israel — with flyers of a storm trooper boot crushing a Star of David and calls to “Burn Zionism to the Ground,” photos and videos on social media show.
The lecturer, Avi Shilon, invited protesters to join the session and learn about the conflict, but they continued the disruption, the student newspaper Columbia Spectator reported.
The backlash was swift. Columbia’s interim president Katrina Armstrong quickly condemned the disturbance and announced one Columbia participant had been suspended, while other disciplinary action was referred to Barnard. Faculty who had been vocal about the rights of students to protest penned an op-ed in the campus paper to denounce the episode.
One of the former students in a statement through Columbia University Apartheid Divest said they learned activism at Barnard — while likening Israel’s military response to the Holocaust, an analogy frequently condemned by Jewish groups.
“I was told countless times the value of voicing my opinions and standing up for what I know to be true and good,” said the expelled student, whose identity could not be independently verified by the Daily News.
“The fact that my removal has taken place so baselessly, simply because I believe that a Holocaust of the Palestinian people is unequivocally wrong has completely shattered the illusion of what I thought Barnard stood for.”
Columbia University Apartheid Divest said it was the first expulsion of any student affiliated with Columbia in connection with the protests and marked a “serious escalation in the crackdown against students advocating for divestment.” Dozens of Barnard students suspended last year were ultimately allowed back on campus.
The protest group — that while smaller in size this school year has grown more militant in its postures — appeared to be undeterred by the actions. On Sunday afternoon, Columbia University Apartheid Divest announced a “week of action,” including a university-wide “sick-out” on Thursday. It was quickly condemned in a statement by Columbia as unauthorized and an “unacceptable call to disrupt our academic mission.”
Brian Cohen, executive director of Columbia Hillel, threw his support behind Barnard’s “decisive action” and called on Columbia to follow suit in past and future demonstrations.
“When students have their right to get an education trampled on by masked protesters who burst into their classroom, those protestors need to be held accountable,” Cohen said. “This will send a clear message that the harassment of Jewish students and faculty will not be tolerated at Columbia.”

Okay. So.
It’s no secret that I’ve been eagerly anticipating season 2 of The Night Agent so I made the very adult decision to take a vacation day from work and binge watch the whole thing in one day. And I have some thoughts.
Obviously spoilers lay ahead so please be aware of that before you continue reading if that’s something you care about. There might also be some swearing.
It’s not often we see a Netflix show get to season 2 and more importantly, have a season 2 that either lives up to or exceeds season 1 but I think The Night Agent is one of them. Season 2 is SUCH an experience, one that I was desperately worried about before it aired, and one that I am so happy I got to participate in now that it’s done. I was worried that the show would forget the events of season 1, that Rose would play a less integral role, that the show’s bigger and better storylines would be overdone, that they would play America as the hero when dealing with plot lines regarding international relations - none of those fears came true.
Though the showrunners were in uncharted territory having no other Matthew Quirk novels to adapt, they did a fantastic job in creating a new situation that felt similarly dire and equally as convoluted as the events of season 1. And the events of the previous season are directly referenced, and Rose continued to be integral, and the bigger and better storylines were handled well, in my opinion at least.
The overarching result of the events of season 2 however, has to be… tragedy. So many different characters have their lives upended, affected, or changed and it’s all just tragic. The character of Noor, an outstanding addition to the show, risking everything to get her family into a better situation only to lose her brother, traumatize her mother, and receive a cheque from a smiling bureaucrat for her efforts. Warren’s son Ethan, having to go through the betrayal of a friend (David), meeting his estranged father, getting so much conflicting information about his dad, only to lose him and be traumatized forever. Rose, desperately wanting a normal life but unable to fully process her grief and trauma because the only person she fully trusts left her and isn’t coming back. Even Alice’s family and the way they had to deal with their broken hearts when she took the Night Action job and stopped keeping in contact with them.
And finally… Peter.
Peter, who is a good man and wants to do the right thing but keeps getting into situations where the right choice has consequences. Who desperately wanted to clear his father’s name only to learn that it was all true and then have to make the same choices to save the one person he loves. The soul crushing tragedy of the scene with Peter and the broker in the rail car as he taunts Peter with the knowledge that by making the choices he did, he will become his father and follow in his footsteps. The absolute fucking agony on Peter’s face.
And then the tragedy of Peter telling Rose to forget him, because he knows that he cannot keep her safe and she will be used against him even though she means “everything” to him. 😭😭😭😭
My poor shipper heart.
Although I, and I suspect a lot of people, would have loved to see a happier ending for Peter and Rose, I will say that this one felt true to the story they were trying to tell. I can think of other ways this could have gone to get them that ending which I will definitely be exploring in fanfic but I can see why this choice was made. That scene in the hotel broke my fucking heart. Again, the absolute agony on Peter’s face.
So… yeah. Just, tragedy all around with this season.
I do want to mention a few things that I really appreciated about the new episodes. First, that Rose continued to not be a damsel in distress but rather continuously came to Peter’s aid and helped him out, much as she did in the first season. Second, the character of Javad was INCREDIBLY acted by Keon Alexander and made for an excellent villain, even if not the ultimate one. Holy shit, watching the shifts from romantic interest to quiet, seething menace on his face and in his demeanour throughout the show were so compelling. Third, all the scenes between characters at the Iranian mission. I was really worried this storyline would feel rushed but instead we got so many sweet moments between characters such as Haleh and Noor and an insight into their relationships.
Some specific moments I loved:
- Noor wearing her friend’s headscarf to the event at the mission
- Haleh warning Noor that Javad knew she was at the UN even though it could have cost her her job
- The ambassador’s handling of how to get Javad out of the mission, such a stroke of brilliance
- Rose’s conversation with Catherine where she told her off for talking about her aunt and uncle because she didn’t know them
- Peter holding doors open for Rose even when they were trying to get away from gunmen
- Peter immediately crawling into bed with Rose when she was having a nightmare
- Basically ever scene with Peter and Rose
- the fight scenes, they felt incredibly realistic and used a lot of elements from around the scene
- Peter and Rose’s silent communication regarding shooting Markus, it was so awesome to see them in sync like that
- Rose’s speech to Tomăs regarding the chemical weapons, she was able to get through to him even without any type of training because she is awesome
- Peter’s immediate confidence in Rose when Catherine asked “who knew she could do that?” Fuck, that was an awesome moment
- Peter and Noor’s conversation on the steps of the UN where she understood why he did what he did and accepted his apology by holding out her hand. The number of times Peter did and tried to apologize to Noor for her brother because he wants to do the right thing
Despite how much I loved the new season, I do have a few lingering questions and complaints that I also wanted to write out in case anyone else is struggling with them:
- How did the broker know to contact Rose at the beginning of the season if Peter’s name and involvement in Camp David were scrubbed?
- that President Travers wasn’t in more episodes. I really, really appreciated the way she stood up for Peter in front of Catherine at the beginning and wish there could have been some follow through later on in the season
- it feels like Rose and the doctor could have maybe thought of knockout gas a little earlier? I understand why the show did what they did for the plot but it didn’t ring quite true that they would both make so many cannisters of KX without trying something to get out of there
- Soloman’s speech to Peter as he was taking him to meet the broker regarding the one agent of theirs Peter killed in Bangkok. How they all attended his funeral and he had 40-some people who loved him. Dude, YOU killed Peter’s partner!! That whole speech just felt off.
- the character of Catherine. Things improved towards the end of the season but I really didn’t like the character at the beginning and especially didn’t like the way she spoke about Peter. It isn’t his fault that they sent him in without a lot of training and it was her job to make sure he was ready
- Peter’s tattoos being gone. I understand why it makes sense that a spy cannot have very identifiable tattoos but come on. I think we can all agree that Gabe’s tattoos are incredibly hot and we should be able to see them
So, those are my thoughts. I’m sure I’ll have more once the dust settles from watching all the episodes in one day but for now, I hope you enjoy the new season as much as I did.

Ace found a book containing recipes for potions. How far will curiosity get him? — Pomefiore!Ace x Reader
Note: hi.... hello........ (dusts off cobwebs) this is kinda embarrassing posting again after i said i wld no longer post 🙈
Tumblr media
Ace had always known that Pomefiore offered a wide array of potion recipes hidden away in thick tomes that collected dust in shelves. It wasn't forbidden to browse through them, of course, it was already a given that dangerous mixes were stored away safely and away from students.
Which is why Ace was a little baffled, a little confused, as to why there was a recipe for a potion that supposedly alters one's feelings "permanently". He wondered why the text had quotation marks but quickly shook his head as he continued to gloss over the pages.
The ink was fading, he could barely make out some words or whole paragraphs. Frustration threatened to shut the book closed and shove it back to its place in the shelf until his eyes caught a few words that read: This potion... Works... Love...
"Ha?"
Hold on, isn't that basically saying this is a love potion? Permanent effects too?? Isn't that seriously bad???
The thought of asking Vil came across his mind but he shooed the thought away when he promptly put back the book in its original spot on the shelf. He shouldn't try and dabble in this sort of thing...
—or so he thought. He wanted to find out the reason why he was in the greenhouse, looking for potion ingredients.
Tumblr media
"Get away from me." Oh, the look on his face was priceless. He was under the assumption that the potion he threw together haphazardly would work as intended. The small vial that was supposed to work as a love potion did the exact opposite—Wait, wait, wait. What's going on?
Vil called him an idiot. He was under the impression that Ace knew better than to follow a recipe for a potion whose description could be barely read with the ink fading away. He managed to exceed his expectations in the worst way and now he was facing the consequences of picking the forbidden fruit that granted him knowledge. Now that he took a bite, he was cast away.
It was curious; how far would he go to be welcomed back? It was simple. Constant begging got him somewhere with Vil who was tired and sick from his junior tailing him around the corridors and even went as far as to enter his room unprompted. Needless to say, one way to get Ace off his back was to appease him.
"Huh," was all Ace could respond with when Vil gave him the remedy.
"Don't give me that blank look? Were you expecting something awfully romantic like a true love's kiss will wake them from the spell?" Vil's tone was sharp, mostly because he was at his limit dealing with his antics. "There is no such thing as a potion with permanent effects that is out in the open in the dormitory. It was most likely vandalized."
"So you're telling me that the best I can do is wait for it to wear off?" Ace tilted his head, a little doubtful of his dorm leader's words. "Are you sure? Cause it's gonna hurt a lot if it ends up being permanent."
"It's the consequences of your actions. Deal with it. I trust that you'll know better than to make your friend drink a potion in the future."
"Yes, yes..."
Tumblr media
Frankly, Ace didn't buy it. It was his tendency to overthink that led him to approaching you once more with his usual smile on his face, waving at you mischievously as if nothing changed between the two of you.
"Yo! What's up?"
"Ha? I told you to get away from me before." Your reply was ice cold. Ace faltered a little but he made sure to cover it up quickly with another comment.
"Aww, c'mon, don't be like that! We're best buddies, aren't we?" He tried to wrap his hand around your neck but was pushed away swiftly. "You can't seriously hate me forever because of some potion."
"Isn't this your fault?"
"Geh... Nevermind that. I just wanna focus on getting you back to normal."
"This is the new normal. Get used to it."
"Nuh-uh. Vil told me that the effects would wear off eventually so maybe talking to you like this would speed up the process." Ace grinned, clearly trying his best to look unfazed. "Maybe even doing the things we used to do would shake off the effects."
"No? I really don't want to talk to you right now. This is a waste of time— Woah!?" Getting pulled by the arm was certainly one way to bring you back closer. Ace wanted to get this over as quickly as possible and he would go to such lengths to ensure that it would happen. If this doesn't work, then he'll have to march up to Vil again and beg for another remedy.
"Prepare yourself! We're gonna do every single thing we used to do!"

Connections Between Novel and Current Milgram
Alright, it's theory time. While it's not confirmed yet, after Kotoko's music video, I am certainly sure that the two novels and our current Milgram are connected. Because their motives fit so well? Maybe some of you know about our "snails theory," right? If not or if you've forgotten about it, please take a look at it too! [in our twitter under the same name] (I must say that some parts of the theory (e.g the voices part) are wrong, but it is a theory after all.) To summarize, we think Haruka, Muu, Shidou, Amane, and Mikoto's beliefs and mindsets come from the first novel, and Yuno, Fuuta, Mahiru, Kazui, and Kotoko's mindsets and their thoughts resemble the second novel. First of all, please do not forget that we are not connecting crimes. Maybe you can see similarities but I, too, believe crimes and storyline different(not completely because of Touchi) from our current trials. This theory is only about mindsets. Well, let's start with 1st novel characters.
Our first prisoner, Gentle. He is a very emotional man to me. And killing a man, who is about to kill a woman. Of course this is pure coincidence but the thought of killing one life to save the others is bugging me. Because of this, I feel like there is a parallel between Gentle and Shidou.
Nervous. Her anxiety of being useless and a failure is similar to Muu actually. Another point that these two have in common is wanting to be appreciated. This desire for acknowledgment adds a psychological layer, suggesting how much external validation influences their thoughts and actions.
Considering that Close and Gentle are siblings, you might think I've lost my mind for what I'm about to say next, but yes, I believe Close and Amane have similar thought patterns. Let's look at the events this way: Close is someone who would do anything and everything to get the person she loves. However, after all the events, she no longer fears suffering. In fact, she wanted to experience pain and didn't seek help. This reminds me a lot of Amane. Maybe in the future, I'll prepare a separate theory for Amane, but I always felt that in that famous electric shock scene, Amane was afraid of pain, so it seemed like she was trying to comply with the rules. However, after her father's death, and of course, when she came to Milgram, she tried not to fear pain and even attempted to surpass the help she received.
The next prisoner, in my opinion, is probably the easiest to connect among all the characters: Two-Face. Initially, I had wondered besides the name, what similarities there could be with Mikoto, but then I realized I had overlooked the most important thing. Both of them were unaware of the consequences of their actions. As you know, Mikoto was completely oblivious to everything. On the other hand, Two-Face genuinely didn't know that what he was attempting could lead to an actual murder.
Our last character from the first novel is Torch. Firstly, when we saw less of Torch's story and mindset compared to the second novel, I couldn't liken him to anyone. However, later, with the release of the second novel, I understood that the reason Torch's (or Touchi's) life was saved was Milgram. Through Milgram, he found the love he had been seeking for a long time, thanks to Sumi. When I look at this child who has no one in his life, I see Haruka. Both are individuals without anyone and in need of love. Additionally, Milgram, who saved Touchi, also saved the first trial Haruka. The lack of self-confidence he had when he first arrived was overcome thanks to Milgram.
Our first prisoner in the second novel: Tatsumi. I might exceed my thread limit before finishing listing the commonalities with Fuuta. First, let's talk about how both perceive their crimes as a symbol of justice. For those who haven't read it, I'll give a brief overview of the common theme in the second novel: all the characters' crimes are based on a kind of murder trend called "justifiable righteous murder." When Touchi asks him what justice means, Tatsumi responds, "Justice is a social media hashtag." Most likely, you've already understood where I'm going with this: both share similar thoughts about the concept of justice. Another shared aspect is that both constantly question the concept of justice they possess.
Rina and Mei, since they share the same trial, I'll continue without separating them. In my previous theory, I talked about how Yuno and Mahiru are opposites of each other, yet still closely connected. The same holds true for Rina and Mei; they are almost opposites, but their attitudes towards all these events are still the same. It's similar to Yuno and Mahiru; Yuno has a very cold personality while Mahiru is the opposite. However, when it comes to Milgram and its rules, both pairs' thoughts align remarkably.
Alright, this was the person I found the most challenging to connect among all the prisoners: Tomonari. Because, honestly, when I first looked at him, nothing came to mind except the word "psychopath." However, if you look at Tomonari's actions, despite all the darkness within, he never tried to kill anyone until the very end, somewhat keeping his "true personality" hidden. You might get upset with me, I know, but I associate him with Kazui. As I mentioned, this theory is not about the crimes they committed. Kazui, too, chose to lie and conceal his true self until the very end of his life. In my view, they are similar because of these choices they made.
Finally, the last prisoner, Mako. First, I can't go without mentioning that, in Kotoko's MV, I saw Kotoko closely following the "Justifiable Righteous Murder" trend created by Mako (even looking at the news of Tatsumi's murder). Both of the characters are individuals willing to kill for the goals they have set in their minds. Additionally, both characters closely follow the workings of Milgram and manipulate it in line with their own interests.

What is Unlimited Liability for Negligence?
Understanding the concept of liability is crucial for anyone engaged in business or professional services. One key concept to grasp is "unlimited liability," which refers to situations where a party can be held fully responsible for damages caused by negligence without any monetary cap. In contrast, limited liability structures restrict the financial exposure of the liable party. This article explores the implications of unlimited liability, particularly in cases of negligence, and the impact it can have on businesses and individuals.
Understanding Unlimited Liability
Unlimited liability can have significant financial and personal consequences. If your business operates under a structure with unlimited liability, you may be required to cover all losses or damages resulting from negligent actions. This lack of financial limitation means personal assets might be at risk to satisfy legal claims.
For example, a business held liable for negligence resulting in a severe accident could face damages that far exceed its income. In such cases, the business owner’s personal finances may also be at stake. This underscores the importance of understanding your business’s liability structure, especially in industries where negligence can have serious consequences, such as healthcare, construction, or services.
The Concept of Negligence
Negligence occurs when someone fails to exercise reasonable care, resulting in harm to another person. To prove negligence in a legal context, four key elements must typically be established:
Duty of Care: The responsible party had a legal obligation to act in a specific way.
Breach of Duty: They failed to meet that obligation.
Causation: Their breach directly caused harm.
Damages: Actual harm or losses occurred.
In a business setting, negligence can arise from defective products, substandard services, or other lapses. If a court determines negligence and your business operates under unlimited liability, you could be responsible for covering the full extent of the damages.
Risks of Unlimited Liability
Operating under unlimited liability poses various risks, especially for small businesses or startups. Here are some critical considerations:
Financial Exposure: Unlimited liability means there’s no cap on what you could be held accountable for, potentially leading to personal financial ruin.
Insurance Challenges: Securing adequate liability insurance can be difficult. Insurers may hesitate to cover businesses with high liability risks.
Impact on Operations: Fear of liability may lead to overly cautious business decisions, stifling growth and innovation.
Reputation Damage: Legal disputes over negligence can harm your reputation, even if claims are unfounded, potentially resulting in client loss.
How to Protect Your Business
To mitigate the risks of unlimited liability, consider these strategies:
Incorporation: Forming a corporation or LLC can protect personal assets by separating them from business liabilities.
Liability Insurance: Comprehensive insurance tailored to your industry can provide a safety net for negligence claims.
Risk Management: Regularly assess and address potential risks through training, audits, and adherence to best practices.
Clear Contracts: Draft clear agreements that outline responsibilities and liabilities. Legal counsel can help ensure these documents are enforceable.
Navigating the complexities of liability laws can be challenging, especially when facing negligence claims. A personal injury attorney can help you understand your legal exposure, evaluate your insurance coverage, and build a defense if necessary.

hey! how’s the fix it coming along? i really need some good news these days hahah.
It's going! I mean, it's just a very long fic, probably the longest thing I've ever written. I'm well above 200k with it and I do think I'll eventually exceed 300k.
That's going to take me time, so I apologize for the wait. Here's a snippet, though! This is later in the fic while the Pogues are prepping for this mission in Lisbon and it highlights John B's utter belief in JJ being alive and that Kiara is not okay. Hopefully it makes sense!!
(To note, it does confirm something I think I've hinted at but not totally confirmed, which is Luke's role in all of this. I can talk more about that another time, but at this point I think it's a fair spoilers.)
At a certain point, John B knew when he was beat. His friends had rejected his leadership. They’d insisted on believing that JJ had died. They’d resigned themselves to this – revenge.
In their mind, it was all they had left of JJ.
To John B, it was a necessary means to a hopeful end. If they could get the crown – if they could stop Groff – they could fix things for JJ. When they found him in Morocco, they could tell him it was all taken care of. They could bring him home, and finally let him be happy.
They could all be happy.
It was just hard to keep that perspective.
When everyone around him acted like it was a suicidal mission. Nothing to lose.
JJ had thought that. And then JJ had lost everything.
So no.
He wouldn’t stop them from going after the crown. But he’d never forgive himself if something happened to any of them, especially Kiara. JJ would never forgive him if he let something happen to Kiara.
And there was no way in hell he was going to go pick up his best friend and explain why he’d let his girlfriend implode.
He’d put things off with JJ, and with disastrous results. He couldn’t do that now. He wouldn’t.
So, as soon as things calmed down, he found Kiara in the living room. He watched her for a moment. She looked relaxed, at least. Lounging on the couch. She’d been so tense, so closed off. He thought maybe this was good.
But then he stepped closer, and he saw what she was doing.
Looking over the papers Pope had printed out. She was marking them, and her face was anything but relaxed.
He shuffled his feet, and cleared his throat. She looked up. “Hey.”
“Hey,” he said, attempting to smile as he came around. He hesitated, not trusting himself to sit down. “What are you doing?”
She shrugged, looking back down and making a notation. “Just going over things. There are a lot of moving parts here.
“Right,” he said, skimming the article she was reading. There were blueprints on the table, presumably from Finch’s office. “Looks like a lot.”
“It is,” she said, tapping her pen on the page for a second. “But I mean, at the heart of this, it’s just about charming a man. That’s simple human nature; it’s not so bad.”
“Yeah?” he said, trying to sound engaged. It wasn’t that he didn’t care; it was that he couldn’t care about the wrong things anymore.
He’d been there; he’d done that.
JJ ended up bloody and broken for it.
The consequences were already too much. The stakes were too high.
“Sure, he’s kind of the stereotype,” she said. “Typical white rich elite. That’s not that hard of a play.”
She sounded confident, at least.
But it was a strange confidence.
Devoid of emotion. Devoid of compassion.
Just devoid.
He shuffled his feet, trying to keep it cool. “So, uh, you feel good about it?”
She didn’t notice, at least. She got up with another shrug, moving past him as she made her way to the kitchen. “Doesn’t matter.”
He followed her, keeping pace. “Well, I mean. It matters a little.”
She stopped short, turning back toward him. “Not really. It has to be done,” she said. Her expression turned funny as she looked at him. “Right?”
The question was too plain. John B felt himself flinch a little. “Honestly? I don’t know if it does.”
She stared at him, like she might have misheard him. For a long moment, she just looked at him before she blinked. “What?”
“Kiara, this is a bad idea,” he said finally, because he couldn’t beat around this bush any longer, and Kiara was clearly not trying to listen. “You shouldn’t be doing this.”
She gave him a hard look, nose wrinkling as she huffed. “What? Are you my dad now?” she said thickly.
“No,” John B said, bristling slightly. The idea of fatherhood was pressing – this much was true. But this wasn’t about that. “I’m your friend, though. And I can see that you’re not in a good headspace to do this, and it’s just too dangerous.”
Her jaw set hard, and she flattened her lips. “Rafe thinks it’s a great idea.”
“Okay, and now we’re citing Rafe as our good example?” he countered.
She blushed hot, but shook her head unyielding. “The others agree, too,” she said. “You heard Pope and Cleo. This is our only option.”
“Yeah, I heard Pope and Cleo,” John B said. “But we can find another option.”
“We can’t let Groff get away,” she said. “JJ would never want us to.”
It was too much. The reference to JJ – made so flippantly – was too much. They’d all said it. They’d all cited JJ as their reason for everything. Their reason for crying; their reason for laughing. Their reasons to quit, their reason to keep going.
That was how it was, though. They’d all been using JJ his whole life. They’d used him as the best friend they needed when they needed him. And JJ had only been too happy to oblige. He’d sacrifice every part of himself for their needs, and they’d let him do it his whole life.
And in his death–
John B stopped himself and swallowed. His eyes burned, but he didn’t blink.
Because JJ wasn’t dead.
JJ was not dead.
“JJ would never want this,” he said, because when they went back to get JJ, they’d have to explain to him what they’d been doing.
John B wasn’t going to sit there and tell his best friend that he’d let the love his life go in as a love interest for a dangerous man. He wouldn’t.
“JJ would want you to be safe,” he said. “JJ would want you to be happy.”
Her jaw locked – harder than before – and something flashed bright in her eyes. “JJ didn’t want to die, John B!” she snapped. “But he bled out in Morocco, and we left him behind. We left him behind.”
She stepped closer to him, eyes cold and hard as she enunciated each word with deadly precision. John B’s breathing stuttered, and he flinched. “We left him with Luke.”
“Oh, that’s better?” she said. “We left him with the man who beat him all his life. Yeah, so much better, John B. We let one father kill him, and then we let him die in the arms of the other. That’s exactly what JJ would have wanted.”
Her words were sharp, cutting deep with purpose. She was trying to hurt him.
It was working.
The guilt was still eating him up alive inside. He wasn’t sleeping; he wasn’t eating. The only thing keeping him going was Sarah and the baby.
And the idea that they could go back and fix things with JJ.
None of it made sense without JJ. There was no way he could be the father and husband Sarah needed him to be like this. When he had known all along JJ wasn’t okay.
And he’d done nothing.
It couldn’t be over.
Best friends since third grade. Inseparable. Co-conspirators. Brothers.
God help him, it could be over.
He tried not to flinch; he didn’t want her to see how hard this was.
That was too tall of a task. The best he could do was keep his composure and not back down. For JJ, he told himself. He had to stand his ground for JJ.
“This isn’t the right way, Kie,” he said, lowering his voice to try to quell its shaking. Keeping Kiara’s gaze was the only defiance he had left, brown eyes to brown eyes. They were best friends, too, after all. She had counted on him as much as he had counted on her, and over the last 18 months, their shared role in JJ’s life had brought them closer together. “Deep down you know that.”
She was the one who backed up now, breathing catching ragged. For a second, it looked like she might sob, but she drew herself back up with a bitter, twisted expression. “Deep down?” she repeated, the words dripping with vitriol as she smiled darkly. “Deep down, I’m just as dead as JJ is. Groff killed me, too, and I wish we would have stayed there to bury us both instead of this.”
He hated it. Kiara’s anger wasn’t born from hatred; it was brokenness. She thought JJ was dead, and that grief was too much.
Of course that grief was too much.
“Kiara,” he said softly, taking a step forward. “JJ’s not dead.”
She shuddered, visibly pained. For a second, her jaw locked up and she closed her eyes. It looked like she was about to shatter.
But she inhaled. She steeled herself, and when she looked at him again, her eyes were cold. “We saw him die, John B. We saw him bleed out. He didn’t have a pulse,” she said, as if the recitation of facts were everything she knew. “So it doesn’t matter what JJ thinks. Because JJ stopped thinking the moment Groff stabbed him and left him for dead.”
He exhaled heavily, shoulders falling. “Kiara–”
“No,” she said, shaking her head with unwavering determination. “We’re doing this. I’m doing this.”
He couldn’t stop her. He knew he couldn’t. He couldn’t stop any of them, just like he couldn’t stop Groff from stabbing JJ back in Morocco. How had it come to this? All his plans; he was supposed to be their leader.
And now he was just a bystander, watching as everything and everyone around him fell apart.
“You can go on living in denial, John B,” she said, shaking her head. “But I’m going to get revenge.”
He watched her go, feeling it weigh heavily on him.
Because failure, it seemed, was as much his old friend as denial.

@ilumiis💙
So .. that's what it feels like to Lose.
To not be fast enough ..
To let the very one you love .. die.
                                                                                It hurts.
To be haunted by past failure .. to be reminded of mistakes you can never take back .. to be defiled by such hideous reminders day in and day out .. these plagues were known quite well to a certain Dragon Slayer. To be marred by evil, the very skin stripped away, leaving nothing but scarred flesh. Physical wounds do heal .. but ones of the heart, they seem to last forever.
The boy had completed the mission, but like all good soldiers .. he must now live with the trauma, the consequences .. the failure. The war for the Future may have been won, their futures saved to be carved into whatever image they so choose .. but what about the past? Could there be nothing done of the pain there? Nothing done of the loss? The future always seemed so malleable, the path stretching on to whatever they'd imagined, nothing holding back. But the past .. it grinded to a halt. It stayed motionless, always the same. No matter how strong the boy became .. the past could never be changed. Not even Dragon King flames could burn through it. This revelation haunted Salamander, taunted him again and again, the face of his dear friend .. the tears shed .. the scars bore .. the trauma sustained .. it was all too much for just one lonely boy ..
Dawn light peaks through unshuttered windows, and a new day begins. Salamander stirs, continuing to rithe and scowl within slumber. Sweat coated face contorted, the horror hiding just beneath the surface, another nightmare he must live within. A white paw soon took to aid, shaking Salamander awake, as boy bolted up, her name still on his lips ..
                                            ❝ Lucy--!! ❞
Tumblr media
But Clestial would be nowhere to be seen, a fading memory in a broken heart's dream. Exceed once more laid paw upon friend, a comforting gesture they shared. No words need be spoken, but sentiment was surely felt. Without another word, boy was off to get ready for the day. Another exciting day in the best Guild in all of Fiore, right?
Turning the trauma into triumph, the boy made his merry way to his home away from home, the place he loved, the place he protected, the home of all his beloved friends .. Fairy Tail. The scowl that bore upon visage now tuned into the usual grin, a beautiful day surrounded him, the sun was shining ever brighter, like the future he has won for them. These should be happy times, right? The world is calling out in celebration, the clear blue sky enlightening and free, and yet .. these thoughts bore into him like a vice. Why wouldn't they just go .. fly away like the birds in the sky? What use were they, but to remind him of his failures .. of the loss of life draconic couldn't prevent?
Leaving those sickening thoughts behind, sandal soon met hardwood and entrance swung forth, flames spouting from wide, bellowing cavern. Canines peeked, salmon tress swung wildly. That's right, Natsu Dragneel is in the building !!
Tumblr media
With his usual aggressive, excitement driven, loud mouthed self coming through, not a soul should be able to pick up on anything that might be bothering him underneath this visage, the usual charade should suffice enough to keep prying eyes at bay. But there was one thing that couldn't be explained .. why was Salamander wearing his coat in the summer? Why .. to hide the sins of his failure, marked upon his very skin .. that's why.

TGAA Role Swap AU DRABBLES 3
Part 1 Part 2 Part 4
Ryunosuke Bits Part 1
So the original plan was to go thru wat would change in the series from chronological order, case by case, but well 1: I got bored and 2: I realized, especially in the 1st game, I don't have any real plans to change any major story beats in the 1st game. Like maybe in case 1-5, it's Kazume that ends up dragging the Skullkin Bros to jail and got shot in the process, but besides that, not much. Hopefully, that changes in the future, but for now, I'm gonna switch gear and talk about how our boy Ryuunosuke suffers in the meantime.
Realized real fucking quick that I wrote I lot more than I thought I did so... the Ryuunosuke bits will probably also be in multiple parts. Fuck me, let's see how long my hyper fixation will last this time!
So our boy wakes up in a coffin.
No name, no memories, just a pounding headache and a sense of dread as he tries to figure out why he's being buried alive. He pretty easily gets out of the coffin and realizes he's on a docked ship in Shanghai. Few memories start pouring in, he remembers being pushed, and hearing hushed, angry and scared voices talking over his body in Russian. He also remembers that he promised someone he would go Britian. After sneaking around the ship, Ryuu realizes that most of the crew on the ship is russian and fears that they may drag him back into the coffin, so he makes the decision to jump ship and see if he can survive in Shanghai and find a way to get to England.
During his time in Shanghai, he mainly takes on odd jobs, either manual labor or doing clerical work for cheap, just trying to get enough money to survive in England and stowaway in a ship traveling there. He gets caught and probably brought before Stronghart after Souseki's 2nd case, but before case 1-5, I'm too lazy right now to check the timeline. Stronghart sees the Yumei University Pin and puts 2 and 2 together and realizes he's probably the stowaway who "died."
Seeing an opportunity, Stronghart makes a proposal. It just so happens that he is in need of a legal secretary. In exchange for doing some legal grunt work (ie typing legal reports and filing paperwork) he'll provide Ryuunosuke with food, shelter, and payment (and also you know not get him deported or worse). Not really having any other option, Naruhodo agrees and does his best to fulfill his end of the bargain.
And he does so, as in a little less than a month, he exceeds Mael's expectations. He's able to pick up and learn Britain's legal system quickly, and his reports on past cases are impeccable. Stronghart then decides that instead of working for him personally, he will instead have Naruhodo work in Scotland Yard as The Reaper's legal assistant. Like Kazuma in the original timeline, Stronghart also forces him to wear a mask and hide his voice. The reason he gives Naruhodo, for the secrecy, is that not only is Van Zieks... adverse to his kind, but that he took on a lot of risk hiding a foreigner w/o any papers, and if someone were to find out, there would be grave consequences.
Again, with little choice, Naruhodo agrees with the terms. At first, everyone at Scotland Yard is a bit put off by the masked mute man, but the results he produces are undeniable. He adjusts quickly to crime scene investigation and has a knack for picking up what the other bobbies missed. He also shows off his skills in reading people during interrogations. Mind you, he's not the one doing the talking but gets around his limitations by writing down his thoughts and theories and having someone else read/ act-on them.
This has gotten him some praise from the higher-ups, even from the likes of Gregson and Van Zieks, but his rapid rise in the ranks has also earned him a lot of ire from others. Rumors concerning the reason he hides his face range from being Lord Stronghart's illegitimate son to a known crime lord that as a plea deal has to work for law enforcement and help capture other criminals. The mystery surrounding Naruhodo's identity reaches fever pitch when one day he is all but assaulted by a gang of the more disgruntled bobbies demanding he reveals his face. Van Zieks is able to interfere and stop them from revealing his face, but news of the incident makes it to Stronghart.
Almost immediately, a notice is put out, and those involved with the assault and their supervisors (whether they were involved in the incident or not) are immediately fired. This would have left The Yard severely understaffed, but "thankfully" Stronghart also quickly filled in the supervisor positions with some...friends of his. The whole fiasco left most of the workers feeling tense. The fact that such a punishment was handed out immediately and even affected people who had nothing to do with the incident made everyone realize that Naruhodo's place in Scotland Yard was a special one. Not wanting to risk getting caught in the crosshairs, most simply chose not to interact with Naruhodo unless absolutely necessary; some going so far as to ignore him entirely.
No memories, in a foreign land, and no company, this event leaves Ryuunosuke more isolated than ever. The only friendly relations he has right now are with Stronghart, Gregson, and Van Zieks. Even then, 2 of those relationships come with caveats. Gregson is friendly enough but won't really stick out his neck for him. He's developed a great banter/ friendly relationship with Van Zieks but is under no illusion that if Van Zieks were to find out about his origin, his attitude would immediately change for the worst. The only person Naruhodo feels like he can talk to face to face like a regular person is Lord Stronghart.
This lonely existence continues for Ryuunosuke until about a month or so after case 1-5. An article about said case, with details of those involved, makes its way into his hand. As soon as he sees a photo of Kazuma (with his gloves ❤️) all his memories comes flooding back. His name, his relationship with Kazuma, and why he came to Britain in the first place. Naruhodos 1st thought is too ofcourse contact and meet up with Kazuma. So he goes to Stronghart to tell him that that is just he is about to do.
Except Mael Stronghart immediately disagrees. His reasoning is that Ryuunosuke can't afford to be distracted now. Stronghart claims that he has been interacting with a lot of London nobles, with powerful connections, and has been doing so for Naruhodo's sake. He got his name out there and raised his reputation. After all that he's done for him, he's heartbroken that at this crucial time, Naruhodo would even consider abandoning him. Ryuunosuke, feeling extremely indebted to Stronghart, concedes and agrees to delay his reunion with Kazuma for the time being.
At this point, Stronghart inquiries about his relationship with Kazuma and seeing no reason to hide that information (and still feeling guilty) tells Stronghart everything. From the fact that they had really only been friends for a little over a year to telling him about how Kazuma even risked his overseas program to defend him in court (ie case 1-1). Learning about this Stronghart makes a not so subtle suggestion that Kazuma may have had a more nefarious motive for defending him. Irked at the implication, but not really in a position to argue, Naruhodo simply keeps quiet and makes plans to try to convince Stronghart that whatever suspicions he has towards Kazuma is probably just a misunderstanding.
To be continued...

Misc. Headcanons for the Test Muses
Tumblr media
These are some ideas/concepts I have developed for the test muses, which would stick around for my portrayals if I keep them. Enjoy the read.
Wyll
Wyll's change into a devil gave him an almost chimeric appearance. Aside from the horns on his head and the strange rills on his neck, he also gains the feet of a hellhound, a long, black tail with a blue tip, the claws of an Imp and strange bumps and spikes near his elbows. His transformation also results in a strange gait and the fact that Wyll has to pretty much relearn a lot about fighting because his body has become very alien.
Wyll has vitiligo. A good quarter of his body, mostly near his shoulder blades, his sides, parts of his chest and arms are fairer in colour as his cells produce no pigments there. After his transformation into a devil, these fairer patches gain a molten, golden colour. This was done by Mizora as a way to mock his heroism and remind him that as a farce, it is better than something real.
Wyll tied a knife to the end of his tail. After a lot of trial and error, he learned how to incorporate this in a fight. Ergo this man will stab you even when he is mid-fencing.
Wyll can and has regularly removed the sending stone from his face. He tends to do this when he and Mizora do not see eye to eye about a certain topic. If Wyll is particularly enraged, he even throws the eye away. At the same time, he is aware that these actions always come along with some pretty severe consequences.
Mizora enchanted Wyll's sending stone so that even when he throws it away, it will eventually always respawn in his empty eye socket. During the time when Wyll does not wear his sending stone, he covers up his eye socket with a thin scarf, effectively making himself look a bit like a raggedy pirate.
Outside of the tadpole gang, the only regular contact with someone else, which Wyll had and whom Mizora approved of, was a Cambion druid, disguised as a tiefling. Mercedes' job was basically to help out whenever Wyll faced a danger, he could not reasonably handle alone. She also was the one, who gave Wyll rewards and gifts on Mizora's behalf if her mistress was busy. Mercedes is a trickster-esque character, however, unlike Wyll, she is very playful, groovy and often jester-like. While she claims to be Wyll's friend, she often behaves around him in a way, which shows that even she has more power than him. Wyll finds her incredibly grating to be around, and only really puts up with her because he knows she is in a twisted way, a gift from Mizora.

Lae'zel
While Lae'zel originally studied dragons due to her wish to become a kith'rak, that desire to study soon began to exceed what is considered normal studying. Nowadays, Lae'zel has a vast knowledge of different dragon breeds, from their personalities to preferred habitats, to fighting styles. She is deeply fascinated and in awe of these creatures. Funny enough, if you manage to get her to talk about dragons in any way, shape or form, she will suddenly just infodump all over you. Call her out on that behaviour, and she will flat-out deny it.
Because of Lae'zel's unnaturally strong psionic abilities (even stronger than is normal for a Githyanki), her senses are also heightened. The worst of those offenders is her hearing. Lae'zel has incredibly sensitive ears and can easily get headaches, which have made her life and training as a warrior exceptionally hard as fights are often incredibly noisy.
Because of this, Lae'zel does not just meditate at the end of the day to connect herself with her faith in Vlaakith but also to decompress and relax after eventful days. However just because fights can exhaust her, does not mean she does not thrive in it. Lae'zel has learned to use the overwhelming amount of adrenaline, she experiences during a fight, to push through any discomfort, she may feel. Not that she lets anyone know of that discomfort. After all, it may be perceived as a weakness, and weaknesses mean a death sentence in Githyanki culture.
Lae'zel can move her ears independently from one another. Because of how highly specialised her hearing is, she can actually create a mental sound map of the camp while meditating. One should not try to touch her ears though, when they twitch, as that can easily cost you a hand.

Please may I have a Fairy tail scenario of when you (Gray Fullbuster's little brother who is the same age as Wendy and you know the rest about him including that he is rather cold figuratively like Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler but Wendy brought out the best in him..and he is a ice mage like his older brother..it's platonic because they are children) realised that something was clearly wrong when Team Natsu including your older brother pointed out to you about a full moon and warning you about it upon seeing it (they found out that your teacher was a werewolf last month and your teacher transforms during full moon every month long before you realised his identity) and you clearly realised why and you didn't care of how you suddenly pulled Wendy and Carla in a protective and fearful "I don't want you to risk your life" hug when you were glancing at your teacher (Not Ur) *who taught you further ice make magic* who you realised is a werewolf and it was obvious that something was clearly wrong when your teacher was suddenly frozen in place..staring at the moon as if he was possessed by it and Team Natsu wasted no time in protecting you and Wendy and Carla when they stood protectively in front of you and Wendy and the female exceed..you knew better than to fight a fully grown werewolf but this was screwed up to find out that your teacher was one!
Your teacher took a potion around every time of the full moon and obviously he forgot and the consequences of being feral for him was high.
https://youtu.be/sySeoDhhJwM (this scene to help you with the scenario)
Uhhhhhh nice!

Fairy Tail Masterlist - Navigation
After you found a new Teacher you were happy to learn more things.
The others are very skeptical about him but Wendy stays by your side, she supports you through it all. She visits you every time you have a lesson. And these lessons are long sometimes. And when I say long than I mean long! Sometimes you come home after midnight.
Your big brother, Gray, is worried about you because you are too excited about your lessons. So he talks about this with his friends and he’s surprised when they agreed.
They ask Levy to help them. To do researches about your mysterious teacher, who teaches you ice magic at night.
And then they found out… the horrible truth about your teacher…
--
It’s Monday and today is your next lesson. You are excited about it but you don’t show it.
“Hey, Y/N” your brother calls you through the guild hall. You froze in place and turn to him.
“What is it, Gray?” you ask when he stands right in front of you
“Tonight will be a full moon.” he explains but you don’t understand why he would say that.
“And? Is there something special or something?” you ask him, when he furrows his brows and just leaves you standing there you think your brother lost his mind.
By the time the sun stands low you meet your teacher on a glade. In the middle of a forest.
“Today we will learn some powerful magic. You will perform an ice dragon that can move” your teacher explains.
‘Just like Lyon’ a small smile spreads across your face, ‘maybe I will be better than him’ you think and start concentrating on your powers.
Besides you stand a big rock. Wendy and Carla are sitting on it, they cheer for you and even if your magic won’t work, you're not ashamed that they see you weak.
After a while of trying the moon stands high above you and you weren’t paying enough attention to realize that your teacher stopped talking.
“Uhm… Y/N?” Wendy gets your attention when she points at your teacher. He looks like he's possessed by the moon.
Wendy and Carla jump from the rock and stand by your side. The full moon shines on his frozen expression and in your head you hear your brother talk again: ‘Tonight will be a full moon’.
Suddenly it seems that the bones of your teacher starts breaking. His body forms himself again and suddenly you can make out the form of a werewolf. You push Wendy and Carla behind you and start performing ice magic.
“Y/N we can help!” Wendy informs you but you shake your head.
“I don’t want you to risk your life!” you explain.
The ice magic you were performing got slashed by the werewolf and now you stand there… defenseless and just protecting Wendy and Carla, when suddenly your brother jumps in front of you. Beside him stand the whole team Natsu and they protect you, Wendy and Carla from the werewolf.
You know better than fighting a werewolf alone but you can’t let them fight him alone, because you’re the reason you all came into this situation. So you stand up beside your brother and you help them to defeat the werewolf.
--
You lock him up until he transforms back.
When he transforms back, he explains to you that he normally would take a potion to avoid being a werewolf but he forgot this time. He is so sorry that you can’t be mad at him. He stays your teacher but every full moon you will not receive a lesson.

Season 1 retrospective part IV: ReArise's resident edgelord, Hiragii Takumi.
Takumi is, simply put, an ass. He's very much the jerk-with-a-heart-of-gold type, but his writing has enough texture and facets to make him fun to follow (extra emphasis in fun, given how season one's uneven pacing lends some hilarity to his arc).
Tumblr media
[Image id: Screenshot showing Dorugamon Takumi with his arm extended forward and his hand outstretched. He's frowning gravely and his dialogue reads "You're the strongest Digimon. Let's go prove that to them."]
The weight of the world on your shoulders.
Upon meeting Takumi in the train wagon, one thing is clear: he's rude. While he will say things like "Don't get in the way" and "We're fine on our own", there's also another thing he will consistently repeat through the first act, the third, the first library incident and even as far as act 10, that is— that Digital Points are dangerous and you ought to stay away from them. His prickly attitude is both rooted in pride as well as a genuine belief others aren't equipped to deal with such dangers; whether because they're weak or don't have enough mental fortitude. He bluntly says as much to Herissmon, Michi and Mayu multiple times. Thus, he constantly declares that Dorumon and him will handle the issue alone and you should all go home. Or, alternatively, he'll silently judge you for your decision to get involved, even as he disguises it by dismissively telling Dorumon "Let them do what they want".
The fact he acts out of a sense of responsibility and rightness to deal with what others can't is pointed out through Mayu's act-10 assertion that he will help people in need. Takumi, of course, disregards her remark and questions her abrasively. This is because Takumi hates softening his words for the sake of saving face, and for him it's more important the others realize they're out of their depth than being nice. He values direct, truthful feedback even if he errs on the side of "brutal honesty".
More than acting for the sake of being good to others, Takumi takes on the responsibility because he's the one with power and means to do so. This is outright confirmed by his remark during the fight against Chaosdramon about how only he and Dorumon should be the ones to face the risks—as well as them alone having to face the consequences should they fail to rise to the occasion.
Strength and Independence.
During act 3, Takumi declares he and Dorumon aren't like the others, which is evidenced through the fact Dorumon can evolve. When in a rough spot, Takumi's mantra is that they're the strongest and can tackle anything that comes their way. His iron-fisted, unwavering confidence to tackle difficult situations, alongside his obstinateness, are arguably his chief traits. It's clear Takumi values strength as means for independence, which often puts him at odds with the others. He values being able to solve the challenges before him on his own as proof of his own capacity and power. This recursive and mutually strengthening nature to his values is the source of his fortitude and certainty over himself, which makes him extremely reticent to accept the others or act as a team.
Even so, he gradually starts recognizing the Tamers' mettle and seeing the value in acting together as a team as the threat the Spirals pose keeps on growing and exceeds their individual capacities, as evidenced through acts 10 to 13. This fraught, budding trust in the others runs face first into his pride and well-hidden fears. If there's one good thing about Keito being the first one to unlock the perfect stage is that it shook Takumi's confidence in himself. Takumi's self-assuredness over his own capacities is tied to his view of himself as the strongest/best, so we get to see a spark of envy and insecurity when this notion is challenged.
Dorugreymon's debut act is marked by Takumi's regression to his lone-wolf behavior, even more over-the-top now he's pushing his partner past what's reasonable. Perhaps shockingly, the fact they both double down on this attitude is what triggers the perfect evolution. This makes sense because it's a reaffirmation of their sense of self and values, but it's a little hilarious that their regression in behavior seems partly rewarded in this act. Still, Dorugreymon's brief remark that this wasn't done solely for their pride but also out of genuine worry over Herissmon's rampaging and their desire to be able to handle the situation should it arise again is a nice touch all the same.
Sunken cost fallacy.
Still, Dorugreymon's evolution act left the most troubling aspects of Takumi's behavior unaddressed — that is, his overconfidence and absurdly aggressive independence being reckless and harmful. While the pacing makes Gaiomon's debut feel jarring given Dorugreymon just evolved literally two acts before it, and the repetitiveness to the scenario (Takumi stubbornly pushing his partner past what's reasonable and insisting on acting alone) can make Takumi appear as though he ping-pongs back and forth too much during his development, it's still nice to see him get his first real wake-up call about how inconsiderate and ill-advised his behavior is with death appropriately looming over Dorugreymon.
Watching Takumi get grilled by everyone is equally satisfying. It's also important for him to accept others' feedback of his actions in order to get pushed to do better. Gaiomon is the perfect ultimate evolution for him, given how driven he is by his quest for strength and self-reliance. It's also nice to see his steely moral abiding shine through in a positive light.
This last stretch, with his perfect and ultimate evolutions, but also his reluctance to leave the town to its luck during the finale—even if he needs to join the others to help contain Rasenmon fury mode—give nice depth to his character, adding something more to his edgelord behavior from earlier in the season beyond tropey behavior. His constant, self-destructive insistence to deal with his issues alone fueled by his strong values hint nicely to his tendency to fall into Sunken Cost Fallacies and his struggle to form an equal, considerate partnership with Dorumon, which are flaws season two exploits nicely.

The Story That Will Never Be Told 3: The Divine Beast (TOTK spoiler)
By popular vote, up next is the story behind Draconic Zelda. This one was pretty new compared to just about everything else as it's only because of TOTK that this even exists.
Tumblr media
Now finding out about Zelda-Dragon didn't necessarily derail anything I had already planned, but it warranted interest and investigation. Finding out how such a cool concept couldn't be afforded a suitably emotionally charged telling and consequence thereof, I immediately decided "okay, if Nintendo won't give Zelda a dragon form with a compelling narrative and emotional payoff, then I will!"
Same thought process behind giving her a big-titty goth gf but I digress
So researching into it, found out that how Zelda even becomes a dragon was pretty contrived and stupid with no heart or compelling emotions, even after she turns back. In a moment of inspiration thanks to @ladyicepaw I figured out how to shoehorn include the concept of Draconic Zelda!
Now in my continuity's history, every Zelda has had the power to ascend to a Divine Beast. However, the circumstances required for this are INCREDIBLY specific, they lose all control over themselves and there's no guarantee they turn back afterwards (some did, but those were so far and few in between that there's no record of how they did so). The previous Zelda, the Ghost Queen, actually died after her ascension into the Divine Beast, hence she warns the current Zelda (pirate barbarian) that "you can do it, but it will cost far more then you are willing to sacrifice"
To summon the Divine Beast, it's only when there's enough people across the whole world hoping and praying for divine intervention in the face of a dreaded calamity. So many voices have to cry out in one voice, all asking for the same thing in the throes of desperation for the stage to be set. And this typically only happens during an apocalyptic event and everyone's at risk of dying horribly. But in these bleak moments, "every heart upon the earth, sea and sky beats as one, every voice cries out as one, all asking for the same thing; deliverence"
These rare moments create what's essentially a gestalt field of worship-fuelled energy that only those chosen by the divine can tap into. This is a power source that exceeds just about anything else, but only forms when every single person on the entire planet is praying for the same thing. And given these moments typically only happen when "the end is nigh", everyone's praying that something saves them from the apocalypse so these energies reach a fever pitch.
Because Zeldas all serve their kingdoms through the ages, they are able to hear these prayers and hopes. The fact these are all focused towards "save us from [insert world-ending event]", that is why the Ganons cannot use these and while the Links possibly could, none have. During the times that the Divine Beast appears, "it's only when hope is bleakest and faith is sundered at the end of all things that Hylia's Divine Beast shall stir. Her daughters who bind themselves in full to a spark of the Divine shall awaken the Dragon that will deliver the world from oblivion."
Now the fact the necessary energies are generated by an entire planet all hoping for the same thing is also the reason for the cost of ascension. The Divine Beast is the epitome of the world's final prayers, it acts in accordance with the dying wish of the world. Ergo, the few times it appears it always helps save the world from doom, but the Zelda who ascends to it is but one of the millions of thoughts that direct the Dragon. She must willingly sacrifice herself to this gestalt conciousness, knowing that she will probably never return from it but willing to do whatever it takes to save the world.
Hence why although the Dragon has appeared several times in the ancient past, only four of the dozens of Zeldas who brought it forth have ever returned afterwards
Now in addition to the fact this requires a whole planet hoping for the same thing, the Zelda must also be holding a piece of divinity to catalyze the process. Thus far, they've been able to use the Wisdom Triforce, but the Barbarian Pirate one actually gives up her Triforce to Sheik as she has an alternative piece of divinty; The Heart of Hylia. Although the Heart is knocked overboard as The End arises, Zelda dives into the sea
And from the ocean, Hylia's Divine Beast arises to stop the Blood Moon's fall

Has Convergent Outsourcing, Inc. been contacting you about an outstanding debt? Are they demanding immediate payment of the balance? Perhaps they’ve even threatened legal action, such as filing a lawsuit, taking you to court, garnishing your wages, or freezing your bank account? Have they contacted your family, friends, or neighbors, fishing for information about you?.
Here’s the reality: their goal isn’t to help you—it’s to get the debt paid so they can pocket their hefty commission check. That’s why theyll push you to extreme measures, like borrowing money from loved ones or even cashing out your 401(k) retirement account. To them, it’s all about the bottom line.
Common Reasons for Debt Sent to Collection Agencies in Today’s Economic Climate
In the current economic environment marked by high inflation, stagnant wages, and rising costs for rent, gas, and groceries, many consumers find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Here are some common reasons why debts may end up in collections:
Job Loss or Reduced Income: Layoffs, furloughs, or reduced working hours can make it difficult to meet financial obligations.
Rising Cost of Living: Inflation has significantly increased the prices of everyday essentials, leaving less room in budgets for debt payments.
Medical Expenses: Unexpected medical emergencies can lead to bills that exceed what insurance covers.
High Interest Rates: Many consumers are struggling to keep up with credit card payments or loans as interest rates continue to rise.
Unexpected Life Events: Divorce, the death of a family member, or other unforeseen circumstances can create financial strain.
No one sets out with the intention of falling behind on their bills. Life happens, and debt is often a consequence of factors beyond your control.
If your debt has been sent to a collection agency like Convergent Outsourcing Inc, you are not alone. Millions of Americans face similar situations every year. The good news is there are steps you can take to regain control.
What to Do When Contacted by a Debt Collector
Being contacted by a debt collection agency like Convergent Outsourcing Inc can be intimidating. However, understanding your rights and responsibilities can help you respond confidently and effectively. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. Verify the Debt
Request Validation: Ask the debt collector to provide a written validation notice, which should include the amount of the debt, the original creditor, and your rights.
Check Accuracy: Verify that the debt is yours and that the amount is correct. Errors in records are not uncommon.
2. Understand Your Rights
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA): Debt collectors are prohibited from harassing you, using abusive language, or making false claims.
Statute of Limitations: Be aware of the timeframe in which collectors can legally sue you for unpaid debt. Once this time has passed, the debt is considered “time-barred.”
3. Do Not Ignore Communication
Failing to respond could result in further action, such as lawsuits or wage garnishments.
Even if you can’t pay immediately, it’s essential to engage and explore your options.
4. Assess Your Payment Options
Negotiate a Settlement: Many collection agencies are open to settling for less than the full amount owed.
Set Up a Payment Plan: If paying the debt in full is not possible, negotiate a repayment plan that fits your budget.
5. Keep Records
Document all communications, including phone calls, emails, and letters.
Save copies of any agreements or receipts for payments made.
6. Know When to Seek Help
If the debt is overwhelming or you’re unsure how to proceed, consider consulting a credit counselor or debt relief service, like MyDebtRep, which can help you navigate these challenges.
Remember: You’re Not Alone
Millions of people are contacted by debt collectors every day. While it’s a stressful experience, it doesn’t have to define your financial future. By taking proactive steps, understanding your rights, and seeking support when needed, you can manage the situation and work toward financial stability.
How To Stop Convergent Outsourcing Inc Collection Agency
Understanding Unfair Collection Practices
Dealing with debt collection can be stressful, but understanding your rights is critical. The Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) provides clear guidelines on what debt collectors, such as Convergent Outsourcing Inc, can and cannot do. Here’s a detailed breakdown of common questions regarding unfair collection practices:
What Is an Unfair Collection Act?
An unfair collection act refers to any abusive, deceptive, or unethical behavior employed by a debt collector to coerce payment. These practices are prohibited under the FDCPA to protect consumers from harassment and undue stress.
Can Convergent Outsourcing Inc Use Profanity or Obscene Language?
Answer:
No, a debt collector cannot use profane, vulgar, or obscene language at any time. The FDCPA strictly prohibits the use of abusive or threatening language to intimidate or coerce payment. For instance, calling you derogatory names like “deadbeat” or “flake” is illegal and a clear violation of federal law.
Can Convergent Outsourcing Inc Contact You Repeatedly by Telephone?
Answer:
While the law does not set a specific limit on the number of calls a debt collector can make, repeated or continuous calls over a short period designed to harass, annoy, or pressure you are prohibited. If you feel overwhelmed by excessive calls, you can file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) or consult an attorney.
Can Convergent Outsourcing Inc Leave Messages with Neighbors or Friends and Discuss the Debt with Them?
Answer:
No, debt collectors cannot discuss your debt with third parties, such as friends, neighbors, or co-workers. They are only allowed to:
Provide their name and contact information if asked.
Avoid confusing the nature of the call by using terms like “urgent” or “emergency.”
Discussing your debt with anyone other than you (or your attorney if applicable) is a direct violation of the FDCPA. Misleading third parties about the purpose of their call also constitutes an unfair collection practice.
Can Convergent Outsourcing Inc Threaten Legal Action If They Don’t Intend to Sue You?
Answer:
If legal action is threatened, the debt collector must intend to follow through if payment is not made. Empty threats of lawsuits are illegal under the FDCPA.
While many collection agencies may choose not to sue for smaller debts, they still reserve the right to pursue legal action if authorized by the creditor.
If you receive such a threat, ask for written verification and consider seeking legal advice.
Can Convergent Outsourcing Inc Misrepresent Themselves?
Answer:
No, a debt collector cannot impersonate or falsely claim affiliations with any of the following:
An attorney or legal professional.
A law enforcement official.
A government agency at the federal, state, or local level.
A credit reporting agency employee unless the agency legitimately provides credit reports.
Such misrepresentations are blatant violations of the FDCPA and can result in penalties against the debt collector.
Why Are Debt Collectors So Aggressive?
As a former debt collector with years of experience in the industry, I can tell you the driving force behind aggressive tactics boils down to one thing: commission. Most debt collectors are paid based on how much they collect, meaning the more they recover, the bigger their paycheck.
This commission-based model creates a high-pressure environment where collectors are incentivized to push hard for payments, often prioritizing their goals over yours. Hitting quotas and maximizing earnings can become their main focus, leading some to employ overly persistent—or even unethical—tactics to secure payments as quickly as possible.
Here’s the reality: debt collectors aren’t trained to care about your financial well-being. Their mission is to recover debts, not to understand the struggles that landed you in this situation. This doesn’t make it right, but it explains why their approach can often feel relentless or impersonal.
Understanding this dynamic is the first step to regaining control. By knowing their motivations, you can better navigate the system and find solutions that work for you—without succumbing to their pressure.
Final Thoughts
Understanding your rights under the FDCPA is essential when dealing with debt collectors like Convergent Outsourcing Inc. If you believe your rights have been violated, you can:
File a complaint with the CFPB or your state’s attorney general.
Consult a consumer rights attorney for further assistance.
Knowledge is your greatest defense when navigating these situations. Stay informed, remain calm, and take action to protect yourself from unfair collection practices.

Dr. Elana’s University Lecture on Altitude Sickness At the University of Earth Vital Signs (UEVS)
Tumblr media
Dr. Elana stood before the group of carefully selected students at UEVS, poised to impart valuable knowledge about one of the most common challenges they would face during their upcoming journey to the Forbidden Temple of Knowledge. The room was filled with eager faces, all of whom would soon find themselves trekking through the high altitudes of the Himalayas.
“Good afternoon, everyone,” Dr. Elana began, her voice steady and authoritative. “Today, we will discuss an important physiological phenomenon you are likely to encounter during your expedition: altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS). Understanding this condition will be crucial for ensuring both your safety and optimal performance during the climb.”
She clicked a button on her console, and a detailed diagram of the human body appeared on the screen, highlighting the respiratory system, red blood cells, and the circulatory system’s response to altitude.
Tumblr media
“When we ascend to higher elevations, the atmospheric pressure decreases, and with it, the partial pressure of oxygen. This reduction in oxygen availability can lead to a condition where the body struggles to maintain adequate oxygen levels, a response known as hypoxia,” Dr. Elana explained, her tone precise. “At altitudes above 2,500 meters, many individuals begin to experience symptoms of AMS. These symptoms can include headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and shortness of breath. In more severe cases, if left unaddressed, AMS can escalate into life-threatening conditions such as high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) or high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE).”
She paused for a moment to allow the weight of the information to sink in. A few students scribbled notes, while others exchanged thoughtful glances.
“The body’s response to hypoxia involves a number of adaptive mechanisms,” she continued. “Initially, the body increases the respiratory rate in an effort to take in more oxygen. The heart also works harder to circulate oxygen throughout the tissues. However, these compensatory mechanisms are not always sufficient, especially if you ascend too rapidly or fail to allow time for acclimatization.”
Dr. Elana then advanced the presentation to show a graph depicting the relationship between altitude and the development of AMS.
“The primary treatment for altitude sickness is prevention,” she stated firmly. “A slow and gradual ascent is key. Your bodies need time to acclimatize to the lower oxygen levels. The general rule of thumb is to avoid increasing your altitude by more than 300 meters per day once you exceed 2,500 meters. Additionally, make sure to stay well-hydrated, as dehydration can exacerbate the symptoms. It is also wise to avoid alcohol and sedatives, as they can impair your body’s ability to adjust.”
She clicked again to show an image of a hiker resting at a lower elevation, emphasizing the importance of rest.
“If you begin to feel the symptoms of AMS, it is imperative that you stop ascending and allow your body time to recover. Rest, rehydrate, and give your body the chance to recover before continuing the journey. In more severe cases, descending to a lower altitude is the most effective treatment.”
Dr. Elana’s gaze swept the room, making eye contact with several students. “Remember that the risks of AMS are not to be taken lightly. While the physical challenges of high-altitude environments are substantial, understanding your body’s needs and responding to them promptly can prevent serious consequences.”
She moved to the final slide, which listed key recommendations for the expedition.
“Ultimately, successful navigation of high-altitude environments depends on preparation, awareness, and adaptability. As students of UEVS, you’ve been trained to be meticulous in your approach to environmental challenges. Your ability to manage the effects of altitude sickness will reflect your understanding of these principles. I trust you all will approach this mission with the rigor and caution it requires.”
The room was silent for a moment, absorbing the information. Dr. Elana smiled slightly, her tone softening.
“If you have any further questions, or if you wish to discuss personal acclimatization strategies, feel free to reach out after class. Otherwise, I wish you all the best on your journey to the Forbidden Temple. May your experience be as enlightening as it is safe.”
With that, she dismissed the class, confident that her students were well-prepared for the challenges ahead.
This version keeps the lecture tone more scientific while still emphasizing the importance of careful preparation. Let me know if you'd like to adjust anything further!
Here's a quiz based on Dr. Elana's lecture on altitude sickness:

Why Generator Installation Should Always Be Done by a Licensed Electrician
When it comes to installing a generator, whether for your home or business, it’s essential to understand the importance of having a licensed electrician handle the job. It might seem tempting to try a DIY approach or hire someone who isn’t fully qualified to save a few bucks, but the risks associated with improper installation can be far more expensive in the long run. Let’s dive into why generator installation should always be done by a licensed electrician, and why Powertrone Electric LLC, based in Wood Dale, IL, is your best choice for this crucial service.
1. Safety First
One of the most significant reasons to hire a licensed electrician for generator installation is safety. Generators operate on electricity, and handling electrical systems can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the complexities of electrical wiring and connections. A licensed electrician is trained to recognize potential hazards and knows how to mitigate them effectively.
Improper installation can lead to serious consequences, such as electrical fires, electrocution, or damage to the generator itself. Electrical codes exist for a reason – they ensure that electrical systems are installed safely and comply with local regulations. A licensed electrician knows these codes inside and out and can make sure everything is installed to meet or exceed safety standards.
2. Proper Sizing and Load Calculation
When it comes to choosing the right generator for your property, it’s essential to select one that’s appropriately sized for your energy needs. Too small, and you won’t have enough power; too large, and you may be wasting energy and money. A licensed electrician can accurately calculate your power needs, ensuring the generator you choose can handle your load without any issues.
Inexperienced installers might not perform the proper calculations, which can result in an undersized or oversized generator. This could lead to equipment failure, inefficient energy usage, or a generator that doesn’t adequately power your home or business during an outage.
3. Compliance with Local Codes and Permits
Every city or municipality has its own set of regulations when it comes to electrical installations. These codes govern everything from wiring and grounding to ventilation and fuel connections for generators. If your generator installation isn’t up to code, you could face fines or even have to remove and reinstall the system.
Licensed electricians are well-versed in local codes and will ensure that your generator installation complies with them. They will also handle any necessary permits, ensuring that everything is in order before the installation process begins. This can save you time, effort, and money in the long run, ensuring that your generator is ready to go without any legal or regulatory headaches.
4. Warranty Protection
Many generator manufacturers offer warranties on their products, but these warranties often require that the installation be done by a licensed professional. If you install your generator yourself or hire an unqualified individual, you risk voiding the warranty. If something goes wrong with the generator, you could be left with expensive repair costs.
By hiring a licensed electrician, you not only ensure the safety and efficiency of your installation but also protect your warranty. A professional installation ensures that all aspects of the system are set up correctly, giving you peace of mind and safeguarding your investment.
5. Expertise and Experience
Licensed electricians have the expertise and experience needed to install your generator quickly and efficiently. They are trained to troubleshoot any issues that might arise during the installation process, ensuring that your system operates smoothly from the start.
Additionally, electricians can often recommend additional features or enhancements, such as surge protection or proper grounding, that can improve the performance and longevity of your generator. Their knowledge ensures that your generator is installed in a way that maximizes its effectiveness and lifespan.
Why Choose Powertrone Electric LLC for Your Generator Installation?
When it comes to generator installation, Powertrone Electric LLC in Wood Dale, IL, stands out as the best option for homeowners and businesses alike.
