a sharp beep beep! from her driveway was y/n’s cue to move along. she’d been rushing all morning to finish up her last-minute packing, having left half of the job for the day of, in true procrastinator fashion. a quick sweep through her mental checklist— phone, wallet, keys, passport— and she was scrambling out of the house.
she almost forgot to lock the door behind her when she caught sight of the boy in the driver’s seat, drumming his fingers impatiently against the leather of the steering wheel. chris always managed to take her breath away, as if it were the first time she was seeing his sharp jawline and piercing aquamarine eyes. shaking the thought away, she turned around and stuffed her key into the lock, triple checking that it was secure before shuffling off to throw her luggage in the trunk.
the slam of the driver’s side door fell on deaf ears as the girl hoisted her suitcase into the van, on a mission to be as quick as possible (after all, she was making them late). a light touch on her wrist had y/n jumping out of her skin, almost dropping the second bag onto the icy ground at her feet. her free hand flew to her chest as her head whipped around to find chris there, the feeling of his fingertips burning into the back of the other still gripping the handle.
chris was already smiling when they locked eyes. “i got it, ma.”
“chris,” she breathed, her shoulders dropping. “thank you.”
“’s nothing,” he replied warmly, in a way that had her cheeks heating up in the cold boston air. “go hop up front, a’ight? you’re picking music. but if you choose wrong, i’m giving matt aux privileges.”
⁺⁎˚
the ride to the airport was relatively uneventful. chris was too focused on following the gps to chat with anyone, not willing to miss an exit and add more time to detour. nick and matt were busy discussing the logistics of an upcoming space camp photoshoot in the backseat, leaving y/n to chew anxiously on her nails, her thoughts racing so fast they could lap the van on the highway.
she felt like an intruder. this trip had been a sort of anniversary gift from a brand the triplets had been partnered with for two years— an all-expenses-paid vacation to hawaii. they could’ve invited anyone, and they used their one extra ticket on her.
even though the boys assured her multiple times that their decision was instant and unanimous— “of course we want you there, you’re our best friend,”— y/n still felt guilty, insisting their brother, justin, might be a more logical choice. it was chris who’d spoken first, claiming that if they’d invited justin, they’d have had to find a way to include their parents as well, and then they’d be paying out of pocket.
it sort of made sense, y/n could admit. but maybe a part of her wished that chris wanted her there for another reason. she wished she was his plus one. that they could hold hands on the beach at sunset. that he would wrap her in his towel to keep her warm as the salty air grew colder. that—
“hey. y/n.”
a two-toned whistle had her tumbling off her train of thought, head snapping toward the driver’s seat at the sound of chris’s voice.
“you good? we’re here.”
she cleared her throat. “sorry. i was just….”
she wasn’t even sure the boy had heard her, already pushing his door open to grab their bags from the back. taking a deep breath, y/n followed suit, double checking they hadn’t left anything in the car before heading to the departures entrance.
⁺⁎˚
y/n was an infrequent flyer, to say the least. the few times she had been on a plane, she found herself in the back of the cabin, sandwiched between large men whose legs took up half her space, and unruly children who should’ve been old enough to know not to throw their toys into her lap.
this was something else entirely. a whole private cubical to herself, with a seat that reclined into a bed? no large men, no unruly children? it was a dream, if nothing else. she was thrilled.
but she also wished she wasn’t in first class. which is ridiculous, by the way— no one ever wishes they weren’t in first class, it’s a backwards thought process. and y/n knew that, but she also knew that if they’d just been in comfort plus, she could sit next to chris, chatting and laughing as usual. he would make the twelve hour flight feel like nothing, but instead, it would feel like double the trip in her little isolation pod.
the thought had her kicking herself in guilt. not only was she in first class, but she was there for free. it wasn’t fair of her to be upset about anything.
unbeknownst to the girl, chris caught the crease in her brow, frowning at the idea that something was bothering her. he waited a minute for the people around them to take their seats before crossing the aisle to her seat, knocking gently on the partition to get her attention.
“y’know, for someone going on a tropical vacation, you don’t seem too excited,” he mused. there was a teasing edge to his voice, but just beneath the surface, concern. “what, you worried forgot to take out the trash before you left and your house’ll be smelly when you get home?”
“well i am now!” y/n groaned. “jesus, chris, why would you even say that?”
chris’s eyes crinkled as he laughed at her expense. “relax, ma, i’m just playin‘. knowing you, i bet you even swept your driveway before leaving. you didn’t forget anything.”
“swept my—?”
“excuse me, sir,” a polite tone sounded from the other aisle on the right side of the plane, “you’ll need to take your seat now. we will be taking off shortly.”
“’s my cue,” said chris, offering her one last reassuring smile. “stop stressing, okay? everything’s gonna be fine.”
⁺⁎˚
everything was not fine.
it was now three hours into the flight, and y/n had made the mistake of falling asleep immediately, missing dinner. she’d needed it, too, since the whole day had been so busy that she’d only managed to grab a couple snacks here and there. a small bag of chips was the only sustenance at her disposal, and the thought of eating another helping of overly-salted junk food made her feel queasy. she supposed she’d have to wait five hours until breakfast was served.
she’d just decided on a movie to try to pass the time when she heard the unmistakable sound of chris’s voice, his chin resting in his palm as he propped himself upon the partition.
“you get your beauty sleep?”
the boy’s hair was mussed— clearly, he’d made himself comfortable in his own seat. his sagging shoulders gave the impression that he was tired, but his shining eyes were wide awake.
“guess so.”
he hummed, his gaze softening just so. “doing okay? it’s gonna be a long flight still. you need anything?”
y/n gave him her best fake smile, not wanting to ask for anything more than she’d already been given. “i’m good, chris, don’t worry.”
mischief crept its way onto his face at her response, and before she could question it, he said, “guess you won’t be needing this, then.” he pulled the packaged meal from behind his back with a dramatic sigh and a look of faux disappointment he could only hold for so long at y/n’s reaction.
a gasp fell from her lips, her stomach growling at the site. “oh, my god, chris, how did you get that?”
“they skipped you at dinner,” he shrugged. “figured you were passed out, so i asked for two. first class comes with perks, apparently.”
“you’re incredible,” she sighed, relief washing over her like warm water when he handed her the container. “thank you. seriously.”
“’course, ma.” chris turned to head back to his seat, but stopped at the sound of her voice.
“wait, chris…," she blurted, maybe a little too quickly, "can you stay?”
when he turned back around, y/n’s demeanor had shifted from relaxed to tense— like she was afraid she might’ve said the wrong thing. her neck was turtling just barely into her shoulders, and she was picking at her fingernails, a longtime nervous habit chris had (unsuccessfully) tried many times to help her break.
it made his heart hurt. “sure, yeah. scooch over a little.”
the seat was suitable for one person, but it was obviously not built for a cuddle session. the pair struggled to find a comfortable position for a few minutes, before settling on chris sitting behind y/n, arms wrapped around her middle as she ate her dinner. she tried to ignore the electric feeling of his thumbs rubbing into her waist through her hoodie— and it had almost made her choke on a mouthful when he’d first started. she wasn’t even sure he was aware he was doing it.
when she’d finished the last of her lukewarm meal, chris set her tray off to the side in favor of pulling her back to lay down with him.
“i know you’re tired, y/n,” he spoke quietly, his breath fanning her temple, flexing his biceps to bring her that much closer to his chest (a move that made her cheeks warm). he planted a hand to the back of her head to steady her against his heart. “go to sleep, okay? i’ll wake you up for breakfast. promise.”
y/n only nodded, and prayed he couldn’t feel the intensity of her heartbeat through their clothing.
⁺⁎˚
the hotel was nice. far nicer than any y/n had ever stayed in before. the lobby alone was massive, with advertisements for every amenity a person could ask for— including a spa, which the girl would happily be taking advantage of. the thought alone sent a shiver down her spine.
nick, noticing, asked, “everything okay?”
she nodded. “just excited to finally relax. i’m afraid the first thing i’m going to do is take a long nap.”
“i hear you. matt kept me up all night with his giggling next door.”
“sorry i like comedies,” the middle triplet rolled his eyes, “not my fault you’re such a light sleeper. y’know they had complimentary earplugs, right?”
“i have sensitive ears, matthew.”
“next guest?” called the concierge before matt could respond, and he gave nick a pointed look before stepping up to check them in.
“so, chris,” nick started with a teasing tone, “what happened to you last night?”
“what do you mean, ‘what happened’ to me?” chris said, seemingly annoyed by the conversation already.
“i got up to use the bathroom and when i peeked into your seat, you were gone. care to tell where you were?”
y/n felt the flush make its way to her face, avoiding eye contact with either of the boys. she opened her phone, hoping to appear busy as she listened anxiously.
“dude, why were you peeking, that’s so creepy—”
“don’t sidestep my question, mister,” nick pressed. “you were gone when i came back, too.”
“i was hanging out with y/n, jeez, man. and it’s weird that you were stalking me, like that’s insane.”
“what, how—? i’m your brother! is it insane that i want to know where you are and that you’re safe? what if you were being kidnapped?”
“on a plane? really, nick?”
grateful that the subject had changed, y/n tuned out the rest of their argument, having mastered that skill many years ago. she watched as matt spoke with the kind-looking older fellow at the service desk, who eventually handed him two room keys. matt offered him a smile in return, and waved the rest of the group over to the elevators.
“okay, so,” he began handing them their respective keycards, “me and nick will take 1207. chris and y/n, you get 1204.”
y/n’s head snapped up at that. “i thought i was rooming with nick.”
“originally, yeah,” said matt, “but we had to move the space camp photoshoot to the early morning, remember? and since me and nick will have to wake up at, like, six, we figured we’d just bunk together.”
she paused. y/n did recall the boys mentioning how matt would come along to the photoshoot because nick needed someone he trusted to help oversee the production, since they’d be working with an entirely unfamiliar crew. she didn’t know they’d changed the time, though.
this wasn’t even out of the norm— y/n had slept over at the sturniolo’s many times growing up, often spending the night in the boys’ beds with them. but something about sharing a hotel room with chris, just the two of them, for a week... it filled her with butterflies.
“and the rooms aren’t connecting?” she clarified.
“well, they’re across from each other,” said matt. “sort of. we’ll just be ten feet away, don’t worry.”
“that okay?” asked chris, a nervous tinge in his voice.
y/n smiled as confidently as she could manage. “yeah, yes. of course. as long as i can take my long showers in peace.”
“fine. but you better leave the door unlocked in case i have to piss.”
they all laughed at that as the elevator doors opened, and headed in the direction of their rooms.
“okay,” matt began, checking his phone, “can we all agree to meet downstairs for dinner at eight?”
“eight? why so late?”
“because i’m tired, nick. i want to sleep. sue me.”
“at least you got some sleep last night,” nick mumbled, and matt’s hand flew up to smack him in the arm, but chris caught his wrist before it could land.
“just go take your nap. we’ll be down at eight.”
with that, the two retreated into their room. chris fumbled with his keycard for a moment, and y/n’s mouth had just opened to offer help when he managed to open the door.
“finally, some peace and—”
chris’s words died in his throat when he saw the room ahead of him. it was beautiful, like the rest of the hotel, with a mini-bar, a luxury bathroom with a glass shower, and floor to ceiling windows on the back wall. what he wasn’t expecting, however, was the bed.
the one bed.
behind him, y/n yawned, pushing past to be able to close the door. “what’s the matter?” she asked, before catching sight of the issue. “oh.”
it was quiet for a few moments.
chris didn’t know what to think. on the one hand, he’d be a liar if he said that this situation wasn’t on par with countless scenarios he’d daydreamed about him and y/n; the prospect of sleeping next to her— feeling her soft skin against his bare chest, the fresh scent of her shampoo filling his lungs— definitely excited him, no doubt about it. he wished they could have that every day.
on the other hand, he knew this wasn’t like all those times she had spent the night at their place over the years. back in boston, y/n split her time relatively evenly between the triplets. sure, she slept in chris’s bed occasionally, cuddling up close to him under his painfully thin comforter (often complaining that it needed replacing), but she did the same with matt and nick…. chris wasn’t special for that. here, though, in this five star hotel room… it would be just the two of them, alone every night, without so much as a connecting room with the others. it felt different, and he’d be remiss to blindly assume her comfort there.
the silence hung heavily in the air around them, creeping into awkward territory, but it seemed nobody wanted to speak first. chris glanced at y/n, who shifted her weight from one foot to the other. he tried to read her expression, but couldn’t land on anything concrete.
wanting to get ahead of the situation, to prove to y/n that her feelings were his priority, chris said in his best reassuring tone, “no worries. ’s probably just a mistake. i bet they’ll find us another room if we call the front desk.”
y/ns heart dropped. of course chris didn’t want to sleep in the same bed as her for a whole week. that would be weird, she knew it would be. she just hadn’t expected him to suggest getting another room so quickly— knowing chris, she assumed he would make a few jokes about sharing, maybe playfully suggest she sleep on the floor (to which she would gently smack him upside the head, probably), but ultimately leave it up to her to decide. and from there, she could’ve told him it was no big deal. but now… well, she didn’t want to make him feel like he had to do anything he didn’t want to.
“uh, yeah,” she cleared her throat. “yeah, let’s call, then.”
nobody mentioned the way their once-bubbly energy seemed to fall flat, like a soda that had been left out overnight. in fact, nobody said another word until chris got the concierge on the line.
y/n didn’t bother to pay any attention to the call. she was busy trying not to let her exhaustion and disappointment mark the beginning of this trip; they were supposed to have fun! she needed to shake this one minor thing off and get to vacationing. maybe a visit to the spa would—
“you’re sure? all right. no, it’s no problem. thanks. you too.”
a short huff came from chris as he placed the phone back onto the receiver. scratching the inner corner of his eye, he spoke in an apologetic voice, “they said they’re booked out.” a sympathetic smile graced his perfect lips. “’m sorry. guess you’re stuck with me.”
y/n had never tried so hard to keep her emotions off her face. relief and excitement trickled down her spine, kickstarting her brain. it was like her body forgot it was tired. but she figured chris was probably still uneasy about it, and she didn’t want to seem like a creep.
“okay,” she said, “how about we figure out plan b later? i really need this nap right now.” a minor fib— she was giddy in the moment, yes, but the second her back touched a mattress, she’d be done for.
“all right, sleeping beauty,” the triplet rolled his eyes, the corner of his mouth quirking up, eye crinkling. “you take the bed, i’ll take the chair.”
“don’t be ridiculous,” she tried, hoping she wasn’t pushing her luck, “you need to sleep as much as i do, chris. come lay down.”
“are you sure? it’s no big, honest.”
she giggled, partially to lighten the mood, but also because she found this whole thing to be a bit silly. they’d cuddled countless times! waving him over, she teased, “since when are you too good to nap with me? get over here.”
the content smile on his face was all the reassurance she needed.
⁺⁎˚
chris was losing his mind.
there was no one to blame but himself. he knew agreeing to sleep with y/n (in the literal sense) would be a bad idea, but he hadn’t anticipated this.
by some random fluke, he’d woken up before their alarm went off, disoriented. it took him a few moments to realize where he was, what he was doing there, and… why his chest felt so heavy.
his breath caught. somehow, in the midst of their nap, y/n had ended up right on top of chris— her face buried in his neck, ribs expanding and contracting opposite his own. her legs, which had fallen either side of him, were slightly bent, giving him a sinful view of her ass in those yoga pants.
chris laid there for a moment or so, dumbfounded by his sudden predicament. what was the right thing to do here? he couldn’t wake her up, they still had— (he looked over at the clock)— half an hour until the alarm sounded. and moving her felt like too risky a disturbance. if anyone needed the rest right now, it was y/n.
the boy sighed, gazing at the ceiling like it might have an answer written on it. a minute passed, and just when he thought things couldn’t get more complicated— a whimper.
so faint that at first, chris figured he’d imagined it. but then came another, louder this time, and he definitely didn’t imagine that.
she must’ve been having a nightmare. his heart broke a little at the idea that she wasn’t enjoying what little sleep they were able to get after such a long trip. his arms came up to carefully hold her, rubbing her back with tender strokes so as not to startle her awake. closing his eyes, he hoped that her subconscious would recognize his comforting touch and send the bad dreams away.
“i got you, ma,” he whispered quietly, continuing the motions on her back. it didn’t seem to help— she was still tense above him.
… then the craziest thing: the girl’s hips rutting gently into his own. “chris,” y/n whined, eyes still shut tight, another whimper spilling from her mouth.
chris’s eyes shot open.
no way. she was dreaming about him?
now he was really fucked. if he didn’t move her, he’d surely be getting hard any minute, and that would be… difficult to explain, to put it simply. but if he did, and she woke up, she’d suspect he’d done so for a reason, and she’d be embarrassed either way.
“please, chris.” she sounded desperate.
chris felt like a perv, with his unconscious friend unknowingly grinding on him and whining his name into his neck. god, maybe he was dreaming; she looked so beautiful like this. but she was clearly in some level of distress, and his concern for his friend outweighed his morals.
“okay, ’s okay baby. ’m here,” he laid his cheek against the top of her head, hugging her tighter to him. “’m right here, y/n.”
he kept rubbing her back— slowly, reassuringly. y/n’s body shook in his hold, and chris had to stifle a moan as she gave a particularly hard rut of her hips, another distressed noise hitting his ears. poor thing.
“shh. c’mon, ma… you’re okay.”
eventually, y/n’s movements began to still, and soon the only sounds to be heard were her soft snores filling the room, like nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
the boy beneath her stared at a spot on the wall, in shock. his best friend just had a dirty dream about him, right on top of him! what was he supposed to do now? tell her? ignore it? the thought of letting this go made his stomach churn.
what if it meant nothing? he’d had countless sexual dreams about people he wasn’t romantically interested in. (if every accidental fantasy had a deeper meaning, he’d be married to his high school algebra tutor by now.) chris couldn’t help but wonder, though…
what if it meant everything?

Fandom: Women's College Basketball (LSU, USC, UConn)
Pairing: Juju Watkins x Reader x Paige Bueckers
Rating: T (Teen)
Warnings: Heavy angst, jealousy, territorial behavior, unresolved tension, eventual poly relationship
Summary: Being close friends with both Juju Watkins and Paige Bueckers was already a lot to handle, but when they both caught feelings for me? It became a full-on war.
Both were competitive. Both were used to winning.
And both, apparently, had decided that I was worth fighting for.
"You sitting courtside for me, right?" Juju had asked, leaning against my desk in my LSU dorm like she had all the time in the world. "I need my number one supporter looking good in red and gold."
I opened my mouth to answer, but my phone buzzed.
Paige [4:35 PM]: Hope you’re packing some navy and white, ma. Can’t have you out here in Trojan colors. Wouldn't be a good look for you.
I groaned, tossing my phone onto my bed. Juju smirked.
"That her?"
"Don't start," I muttered.
Juju chuckled but didn’t say anything else. She didn’t have to. We both knew that she and Paige could barely stand to be in the same room, and the fact that I was friends with both of them only made it worse.
The game between USC and UConn was already set to be a battle. But for them, it wasn’t just about basketball.
It was about me.
Sitting courtside felt like sitting in the eye of a storm.
Juju was putting on a show—deep threes, crossovers that sent defenders stumbling, celebrations that felt just a little too directed at Paige.
Paige? Oh, she was taking it personally.
Every time she made a play, she looked at me. Every time she scored, she smirked like she was reminding me why she should be my favorite.
And then came the third quarter.
Paige went up for a layup. Juju was right there. They collided mid-air, and Paige hit the ground hard.
The whistle blew, but neither of them cared.
Paige shoved Juju’s shoulder as she stood up.
Juju shoved back.
And suddenly, they were chest to chest, jawing at each other.
I saw it before the refs did—the pure, reckless need to prove themselves.
Over me.
"Man, they’re really about to fight over you," Taylor muttered beside me.
I buried my face in my hands. "I hate them both."
"Sure you do," she laughed.
They both got hit with a tech. The game went on, but the tension never left.
Three days later, I was still recovering from the absolute embarrassment of watching my two best friends nearly get ejected because they couldn’t stop competing for my attention.
So when I heard a knock on my dorm room door, I should’ve known it was them.
What I didn’t expect?
For them to show up together.
I folded my arms. "Y’all better not have come here to argue in my dorm."
Paige sighed, rubbing her forehead. "We’re not."
Juju nodded. "We figured it out."
I blinked. "Figured what out?"
They exchanged a glance. Paige spoke first. "We’re gonna share you."
I stared. Then laughed. "Hilarious. Get out."
Neither of them moved.
Oh. They were serious.
Juju shrugged. "Look, we get it. You’re not gonna pick between us. And we’re not about to sit here and act like we don’t both want you."
Paige leaned against the doorframe, smirking. "So instead of fighting over you, we’re just gonna make it work. Together."
My head was spinning. "You—what?"
Juju smirked. "What, you can handle both of us, right?"
Paige grinned. "Or are we too much for you, ma?"
I glared at them. "I hate y’all."
Paige tilted my chin up. "No, you don’t."
The worst part?
She was right.
I thought the madness would end after they worked things out.
I was wrong.
Because now, instead of fighting over me, they were ganging up on me.
And that’s how I ended up at my lacrosse game, standing on the field, watching both of them sit front row in LSU gear.
They looked way too comfortable. Juju was leaning back in her seat like she owned the place. Paige had her feet propped up on the railing, arms crossed like she was analyzing my every move.
Taylor, sitting on the bench beside me, snorted. "Yeah, that’s not normal."
"Tell me about it," I muttered.
The game hadn’t even started yet, but they were already making themselves known.
Juju cupped her hands around her mouth. "Yo, baby, don’t let me down out there!"
Paige smirked. "She never lets me down, Watkins. She’s built different."
Juju scoffed. "Please, she’s my girl too. We’ll see who she winks at first when she scores."
I groaned, dragging my hands down my face. "I’m actually gonna die."
Taylor patted my back. "Nah, girl, you’re just stuck between two of the craziest ballers in the country."
"That’s supposed to make me feel better?"
She shrugged. "You picked them."
I sighed. "No, they picked me. And now I have to deal with—"
The ref blew the whistle, signaling the start of the game.
And before I even ran onto the field, Paige and Juju were already yelling for me.
Loudly.
Taylor smirked. "Yeah, you’re never escaping them."
After the game, I barely made it to the locker room before Juju and Paige cornered me.
Juju draped an arm around my shoulder. "Not bad, superstar. But next time, point at me when you score, yeah?"
Paige scoffed. "Oh, so you didn’t see her looking at me after that goal?"
I groaned. "Can y’all not?"
Juju grinned. "Nah. We’re invested in your career now, babe."
Paige smirked. "Exactly. We gotta make sure our girl knows we’re here for her."
I exhaled. They were never gonna let me live this down.
Taylor walked past, shaking her head. "Man, y’all are something else."
Paige and Juju high-fived.
I sighed.
This was my life now.
And honestly?
Maybe I didn’t mind it so much.

• random slutty CUTE thoughts - seungcheol •
the valentine’s day one with clumsy cheol
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/43a6b2c9e564ac33f2ed83b04713c578/6c92070ba5d51744-c8/s540x810/fb5f9e030a1f1debe55d21b8357690894de82d09.jpg)
seungcheol has big plans for valentine’s day, but everything seems to be going wrong - he just wants to make it the best valentine’s day you’ve ever had, no matter what
seungcheol had plans for your valentine’s day evening - he planned the food, the jewelry, the flowers, literally everything PLANNED
but now he’s lying on his back in a hospital bed because he tripped in the bathroom - he wasn’t even showering - he just slipped and whacked his head on the tile and maybe got woozy when he saw some blood
it was so embarrassing, literally everything about tonight was supposed to be sexy
but when you come into the hospital room, worried and squishing his cheeks, asking if he’s ’okay’ and ‘what can you do’ - all he can think is how you’re so cute when you’re worried about him, cooing over him and petting him, calling him ‘baby’ and kissing his forehead - he certainly doesn’t hate it
plus, he’s usually the one who’s protective, but you’re kind of scary when the nurses can’t answer basic questions, like whether it’s a serious head injury or a mild concussion
he’s annoyed when the doctor says he needs to stay the night because he can literally imagine everything he planned sitting at home and going to waste, but at least they say you can stay the night too
you had planned for that, of course, and already brought some extra clothes for yourself and for him, plus a tablet full of downloaded shows and movies and the pillow he likes and an extra blanket
it’s funny to him how a few things from home and having you curled against him make a hospital room seem almost homey
he’s almost okay with things, but also he isn’t at all - tonight was important - he had been waiting to tell you something and this wasn’t the romantic evening he had planned
but when you lean up to kiss him, your warm lips pressing to his, he immediately feels all the warm, quivering feelings you always make him feel - he loves those feelings dearly
you lean back slowly, smoothing his hair and staring at him quietly for a few moments, he returns your gaze, adoring the gentle way you look at him, like he’s someone truly special to you
you lean down again, kissing his cheek softly, “you’re so sweet for planning everything,” you whisper
he flushes slightly, “you weren’t supposed to see that,” he whines
you just smile, “but i did and it was so perfect” —
he stops you, “i know, but then i fell and ruined everything”
you shake your head, “you didn’t ruin anything, cheol,” you assures him, “it’s just a special story we can tell everyone one day,” she smiles, “the day i realized i was completely in love with you,” you kiss him again, lingering for a moment before pulling back
his eyes were large, “i was supposed to confess today!” he whined again
you laugh softly, “so go ahead then - it’s not like we can’t realize it the same day”
he shakes his head, “no, i’ve known - i just wanted to tell you today so it’s romantic…special,” he pouted
you nod, “ah, so you wanted it to be memorable when you told me?” you giggle, “there’s nothing memorable about today, i guess”
he knew you were joking, but he still sulked, and you press closer, “cheol,” you stroke his cheek, “really, i mean it, i love you,” you whisper, “just you,” you press another kiss to his cheek
“maybe i’ll pick another romantic day,” he exaggerated his pouting, making you laugh softly
you nuzzle close, “at least i told you as soon as i knew how i felt”
he sighs, “i knew at christmas when you picked the matching necklaces and refused anything else they had”
she laughed, “that? can it be something else?”
“no - it’s just when i knew you were really the person i love,” he strokes your cheek
you smile, “i guess it’s okay then”
he rolls his eyes, “i love you too,” he finally confesses
you nuzzle closer, enjoying his warmth, “i love you more”
he swats your arm gently, “i’m injured, let me win,” he pouts
you grin, “of course you win, my perfect cheol”

—summary: assistant professor in bioengineering, incredibly attractive, lonely and divorced; that’s how most people describe san. but despite the events that have happened in his life, san has a lot going for himself. he’s a successful, sought out professor due to his brilliant contributions to science at just an early age of 32. he worked hard to get where he was now; head deep into his research, his publications, building his lab and creating a name for himself. everything was good and smooth sailing— until it wasn’t. because when he meets you, a bioengineering grad student interested in rotating in his lab, he finds himself ready to risk all the blood, sweat and tears he put in throughout the years just to keep you close— his need for you spiraling out of control like a wildfire.

If the texts yesterday afternoon weren't nerve-wracking enough, it was the downtime in between the texts and seeing San that had you ready to curl up in a ball out of anxiety; fetal position, rocking back and forth as an attempt to rid the feeling. San hadn't texted much after deciding the two of you should talk the following day, and you never questioned why he couldn't just see you the same night he had told you he needed to talk.
you: 😞 you didn't even look my way when you walked back into the office and i haven't heard from you all day.
you: i hate how all my papers and presentations are due this week. plus ppl have been weird, idk. i just wanna cuddle 😭
san: i'm sorry. it's just been a day.
you: that's never stopped you before... ☹️ what's wrong, san?
san: we should talk, baby.
you: oh.. okay. so let's talk tonight? i just need to finish up a few things, and i'm halfway done on most of my papers and presentations. i think they can wait a bit.
san: no, you should finish up. i've got a ton of things to catch up on so tonight won't work. can we do this tomorrow? i'll come pick you up once we're both done in the lab.
you: are you sure?
san: mhm. i'm sorry again, it really just has been kinda all over the place today.
you: it's fine, san. as long as you can promise me we're okay?
san: we will be. i'll talk to you tomorrow, okay? try to take breaks and rest well.
You accepted it, even if it felt excruciating and painfully long.
These things never turn out well, and you knew your case wasn't gonna be an exception. You were afraid for it, you were nervous and you were wondering what San might do to try and lessen the blow of whatever was coming.
He wouldn't hurt you, right?
He meant it when he said you two would be okay, right?
Even if he tried to be as reassuring, everything about it felt off and cryptic. None of it felt like sunshine and rainbows, none of it felt like the San you felt in love with. None of it felt like the giddy excitement, the comfort, the safety you had come to know and love.
You hated automatically assuming the worse, but nothing was preventing you from doing so— not even San.
Today was actually pretty uneventful, nonetheless. Despite the wait and silence from San, you felt like you managed to get by in one piece. It still felt like everyone was looking at you; like they had all known your deepest, darkest secrets. Like they had been following your every move, especially while you were with San. It still felt awful, but you had learned how to push aside because people could talk and assume— but they would never know the true story.
And who knows? Even if you tried to explain yourself, they wouldn't get it.
You didn't really owe that explanation to anyone, you think.
The only other weird part about your day was when you had tried to help Belle earlier since you had some downtime and she brushed you off completely. She had been avoiding you, and it was pretty obvious she was letting the talk get to her head. She didn't maintain eye contact with you, she didn't acknowledge you, and she didn't talk to you the way that she used to.
—FLASHBACK
You walk into the lab, passing by a few of your labmates with a tiny, toothless smile etched on your lips. There was no Sunwoo around, but there was Belle; yet, she still hadn't turned to acknowledge your presence. You had gotten through your to-do list for Sunwoo's project, leaving you with extra time to spare today. You hadn't been able to dedicate a lot of your support to Belle lately due to all those technical issues you needed to troubleshoot for your project with Sunwoo, and you figured this would be a good time to make up for it.
Unless she had other plans.
"Hey Belle!" You come to her desk, pulling the courage from deep down within you to approach her first. She looks up at you, a brow cocked up before returning her attention to her laptop. "I have some time to help—"
"No thanks, I'm good." She doesn't look at you. "Just so you know, I don't really need extra help anymore. I've got everything figured out already."
"Oh, okay." You step away from her desk, fiddling with your fingers while you stand there looking dumb. "Are you sure?" She pauses her typing before finally looking back up at you with her brows knit tightly together.
"I just said it, didn't I?"
"I-I'm sorry, I just wanted to make sure since I had the time and I haven't been able to help you out as much cause of Sunwoo's project."
"Why don't you go and use your extra time with Professor Choi since you've been doing that anyway?" She gives you a look that settles in the pit of your stomach. You don't say anything to her, even as she shuts her laptop close and stands— brushing past you to get to one of the behavior rooms. You feel a bit hurt, and your other labmates aren't even paying attention to the whole thing; or, maybe they are, and they just don't wanna say anything to dig deeper into the wound.
So, you turn on your heel with your head down, returning to your desk to continue your data analysis in silence.
—END
You try to tell yourself that it doesn't really matter— that you didn't need anyone's reassurance or validation. It hurt despite not being super close to Belle, but you knew she thought of you in a different light now and that wasn't really fair. You could see how it'd look problematic on the surface, but you thought she knew you better than that.
Guess it's also your fault for assuming.
When it's time for San to pick you up at your usual pick-up spot, you grab your keys and head out— still not having changed out of your outfit for the day. You try to take slow steps to not seem too eager, but you can't help it when you see San parked in his usual spot. This time though, he isn't watching for you in the rear view mirror.
"Hey." You swing the door open and slide in. San gives you a small smile, followed by a:
"Hey." He watches as you dip forward to kiss him on the lips like you always do, and he surprisingly takes it. You were getting ready for the rejection or some kind of pull back; but, to San's own knowledge, he did it because he knew it'd be the last time he could savor it.
"You okay? Were you able to finish everything you needed to?"
"Uh, yeah. Think so." He says with a subtle chuckle before driving off.
"Are we going to your house?"
"Thought we could sit at the view and talk, if that's okay with you?" You slowly nod, keeping your eyes trained on San as he drives.
"Okay. You're scaring me, Sannie." He shakes his head.
"Please don't be."
"Then why couldn't we just talk about this like normal at your place?"
"Y/N, you trust me, right?" He quickly looks at you as he comes across a red light. You silently nod, just in time for him to drive off and continue onto the destination. "Okay, so trust me." He's still being so cryptic and distant that you don't even know how to respond. You quietly sit back in your chair and watch the surroundings pass you by, trying to settle the queasiness you feel building in your stomach.
These things never go well, and your case doesn't seem to be a one-off.
San continues to remain silent as he drives the rest of the way to the view, the music softly filling in as background noise that's enough to distract you. When he pulls into the small empty side lot and parks his car, he lets out a sigh and sits back.
"How was your day today?" He asks softly, still avoiding contact with you.
"It was okay, I guess. Better than yesterday."
"That's good."
"San." You adjust your position so you're looking directly at him, body facing him. "What is it that you wanted to talk about?"
"I don't know where to start."
"You have to start somewhere." He sighs again. "You know, whatever it is, you can tell me. We can figure this out together." You raise your hand to cup his cheek, almost somewhat of a gesture to force him to look at you. And for a minute, you feel him relax under your touch. You can tell he wants to turn and kiss the palm of your hand like he usually does, but he doesn't. "Sannie—"
"We should stop this." Your mouth slightly drops even though you don't know what to say. Your eyes widen, your touch turns cold. You retreat your hand while you let the response sink, San still keeping his gaze out of the window because he truly can't dare to look at you right now.
He'll fold.
He'll forget all about this and risk everything for the both of you.
He shouldn't.
"W-what?"
"We need to stop this, Y/N." He finally looks at you and his gaze feels like an icebox. Everything feels so cold and distant, even if it's supposed to be a front; it's working, and it's fucking you up completely.
"All of a sudden? I-I thought we were fine, what happened? What did I do wrong?" He shakes his head.
"Nothing. It's not anything you did, I'm just trying to be realistic here."
"Realistic? I thought you didn't care about the outside noise?"
"We're only prolonging the inevitable, don't you get it? Everything is going to come crashing down on us whether we like it or not. No matter how hard I try to stop it, this is what it'll eventually come to." You don't really understand where he's coming from or what he's getting at, but it's too late— you feel the tears steadily streaming down your cheeks.
Then, you're sobbing into your hands and you feel pathetic. But San feels terrible, he hates this. He doesn't wanna do this but he's conflicted between right and wrong, between being selfish and letting you go. "San, why?"
"Y/N, please hear me out on this, okay?" He's barely able to answer.
"Why? You ask him again. You cry in his passenger's seat, wiping it away with your sweater sleeves. "You said I could trust you, a-and that you wouldn't hurt me because you didn't care about anyone else."
"I need you to understand that I'm doing this because I care about you."
"But, I love you." San shakes his head as tears streak his own cheeks.
"We're being too selfish." He looks at you. "I am. I'm being too selfish and I don't need this to ruin things for you more. I need to put you first—"
"Why do you get to decide what that looks like for me, San?" He doesn't respond. "So, you don't want this?" He lets out a shaky sigh. "Us?"
"That's far from how I feel and you know it."
"Why can't you just say it back? Why can't we just let this be? I don't care—" You tug on his arm and he grips your hand before shaking his head.
"Because this is already hard as it is. Y/N, listen to me." He pleads, cupping your cheeks. He finally looks deep into your eyes, his thumb gently caressing the surface. The life in his eyes are gone. The glow, the stars. Now, his eyes are dull. They're holding back. They don't show you anything. "We should stop. We need to. Namjoon and the dean are discussing your future at the school, and I need you to keep going in this program. I need you to keep going forward even if that means I can't be right there with you every step of the way. You deserve to be here and you deserve to finish this until the very end. You've worked so hard to get here, and I refuse to let them lose out on you simply because of me."
"This makes no sense to me. Why do we have to do this? We can just be more careful and plan better. We can just—"
"I'm trying to protect you."
"Protect me? From Namjoon and the dean? Or are you trying to protect yourself?"
"I don't give a damn about me, Y/N!" He's a little angrier with this response but you know it isn't directed towards you. It's towards Namjoon. The dean. Yunho and Iseul. This whole fucked up situation. "I'm always gonna put you first. It's always been about you and it'll always be about you." You cry a bit harder at his answer, unsure of what to make of this entire thing. You don't know if San really means this or if he is just trying to protect you. You don't know what to do, you don't know if you should keep trusting him the same way.
You don't know if you can, and that's probably because you're blinded by all the overwhelming emotions you're feeling right now.
The both of you sit in this thick silence, your cries now filling the space while San tries to muster up the last bit of his energy to try and make you feel better— to get you to understand this better.
It's not that he wants to, he has to.
"I don't—" He swallows thickly. "I don't wanna do this but I have to. You have to understand." He says at a whisper, more tears streaming down his red-stained cheeks. "You have to understand, baby. Please." He begs. "I don't want them to do anything to you and I don't wanna jeopardize your future. Just listen to me. We have to do this." He leans forward to cup your cheeks and wipe your tears away with his thumb.
"No, we don't." You almost whine, but all San can do is shake his head and sit back in his seat.
"I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you, but I have to do what's best for you." His voice shakes. "I really am so sorry, sweetheart." He answers lowly, wiping his remaining tears before retreating back into his shell and showing off his cold demeanor for the remainder of his time with you. "I should get you back."
"I should've never trusted you. I should've known this was all too good to be true. You didn't care." You cry, repeating all this nonsense to try and get him to hurt the same way as you somehow. Because he'll never understand. Everything had led up to this and you were still unprepared for this. Even though you knew you'd be here at some point, nothing would have ever prepared you for the way your heart drops to your stomach; the way you feel nothing but thunder and rain.
Blue and grey.
He does, though.
In fact, he's probably hurting the most because he had to pull the trigger and let you go.
He hates it. He fucking hates it.
He's trying to drown out the rest until he gets you back to your building because he can't take it. He can't take hearing you cry anymore, he can't take hearing you say these awful things because you're angry at the moment. He hopes that you'll see where he's coming from eventually because all he's ever wanted to do was protect you and keep you safe.
All he's ever done was care about you, and you only.
All he's ever felt was love for you, and you only. You showed him what love was like again and he'll never take that for granted.
This was him showing you love. He needed to put you first.
"I care about you more than anything. I'm trying to do what's best—"
"Without involving me? Deciding for me? Yeah." You wipe away at your cheeks once more before unbuckling your seatbelt. "Whatever San, save it." You tell him before swinging the door open and stepping out. "You were just trying to protect me. I get it."
"Baby, don't be like that. Please don't make this harder than it already is. I would never intentionally hurt you. You know this." He tries to reach for your hand, but you move it away.
"You don't get to call me that anymore." You roll your eyes. "Anyway, goodluck, San." Is all you say before slamming his door shut and storming off. You begin to cry to yourself again, feeling sorry for yourself and stupid. You know deep down that San was only trying to do the right thing and that he was trying to protect you. But, right now, you're angry, you're sad, you're upset. You feel empty and betrayed and you just need to feel this out in order to let it pass.
This too shall pass.
When you head upstairs, you quickly pack up a few things, along with your laptop and other school-related necessities before locking up and heading to your car. You feel a migraine coming on, which definitely means you should take it easy and stay behind; but, all you can think about is getting to your mom and being away from school for a few days.
Nothing's better than a mother's love and comfort, even though you aren't entirely sure how she's gonna react to this, how she'll feel about San.
In the end, you don't hate him.
You can't.
You could never.
—FLASHBACK
"That was a good girl's date, wasn't it? We got massages, our nails done. Now we're eating a banana split under this nice weather." Your mom chuckles. "You need to come home more often."
"I know, I know." You scoop up a good helping of the banana split, internally conflicted on when is a good time to let your mom know about what's been going on. She would probably be surprised and scared for you, but your mom had a good way of choosing her words. She had a good way of being there for you but making her concerns known without pointing fingers or putting any blame on your actions.
"How has school been? Your friends?"
"They've been good. We've all been busy with our labs."
"Jiung's been good? You think you guys are all gonna stay in the labs you're currently rotating in?"
"He's good, yeah. And I think so, they all seem to be enjoying it."
"How about you?" You poke at the banana before scooping another helping. Your mom can already tell there's something else on your mind, but she's gonna let you take the floor and open up about it when you're ready.
Which is now.
You just don't know if she's ready.
"Uh, yeah. It's been good!" You give her a small smile. "I'm still deciding on my route, but it's been good." Pause. "There's actually something else I've been meaning to tell you."
"Okay, try me!" She chuckles. "What is it?"
"I've been seeing someone."
"Oh?" She laughs. "Well, isn't that great?! I mean, you never needed a man, okay. But, as long as they make you happy and add value to your life. I just want you happy." She laughs. "Who is he, where did you meet? Tell me everything!" You sigh and take a deep breath before starting.
"We met at school. In the lab. Because.. he's my rotation professor." You give her a look, afraid of what she'll say. She stops mid-bite and almost chokes, setting her spoon down before looking at you with knitted brows.
"Your.. what?! Y/N—"
"Mom, please. Just hear me out before you start assuming and saying things. He didn't abuse his power, I didn't throw myself on him, okay? It just happened." You immediately say and look at her with puppy eyes. "We just happened. We grew feelings for each other and just clicked really well. We've been keeping things lowkey."
"But, Y/N. Honey, I say this sincerely. What if people find out? Not that I want them to, but they will." You shrug.
"I don't know, we'll figure it out."
"H-how old is he?"
"32."
"Oh, okay. He's young."
"And handsome." You rest your chin on the palm of your hand and smile. "His name is San. Choi San. He's pretty popular in the bioengineering and neuroscience world."
"That's good." Your mom is slightly shutting down and you know it's because her thoughts are traveling at 100mph and she doesn't know what to think or do.
Or say.
"Mom, I'm sorry. I know you're worried but I'll be fine, okay? I promise. It'll all be fine." You add to break the silence and reach for her hand.
"I just don't want him to hurt you and then you lose everything you've worked so hard for over him."
"I just don't know where this is gonna take us. Things feel too overwhelming. Like.. I just don't want any talk getting into his head about us."
"It could really ruin things for the both of you, Y/N. Please be smart about your actions. Don't throw everything away because of him. That's all I ask. Just by the looks of it, I know he makes you happy and you're riding cloud nine, but you need to remember who comes first— yourself."
"I know. I hear you. I don't mean to cause any unnecessary worry or anything."
"No, you're not. Lovey, I'm your mom, I'm always gonna worry regardless. But, I trust you enough to make the right decisions and to take care of yourself. I know you'll be smart and I know you won't be completely reckless. I'm not gonna lie, this— this isn't a 'conventional' relationship and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet." She sighs and looks at you with a hint of concern in her eyes. "I'm trying hard to see this from your side, not from my side, and I think it'll take me time to get used to. In the end, I just don't want you to get hurt. I don't want people to think bad about you, and I don't want you to lose everything you've worked so hard for."
"I know, but it's all okay. I promise." You promise her, but you don't even know if you believe the promise yourself. "You can trust him." She doesn't say much, and you can tell she's trying her hardest to swallow her true emotions.
"Just becareful."
—END
San picks up the phone to call Namjoon, hands slightly trembling. He's still sitting in his car, still sitting in the same spot because it's his turn to cry and let out all his feelings. He hits the steering wheel before running a hand through his hair, second-guessing all his decisions.
Why did it have to come down to all of this? Did he really have to? How long before he folds and comes back to you?
Before he says fuck this all together and chases after you?
He keeps trying to remind himself that he needs to protect you and let this blow over. He keeps trying to remind himself that it'll all be worth it and you both will find your way back to each other again.
In time.
"San."
"It's over with." Is all he is able to say before Namjoon lets out a small sigh on the other end.
"I'm sorry, San. Look, just give this time—" Quite frankly, he doesn't wanna hear it anymore. Not today, not tomorrow, not for awhile.
"It's fine." He cute him off. "You don't have to say it. Just please make sure nothing happens to her."
"You got my word. I'll figure this out. Don't worry." San ends the call before he's digging his head into his hands and cries.
And cries.
And cries.
Because now his days are going to blend back to the black and white filter he used to have on. He'll never experience that warmth, those colors, without you around.
He'll never witness where the sea meets the sky, when the sun sinks below the horizon. When dawn meets dusk.
His days will be monotone and dull, lifeless and cold. Gloomy. Days he had prayed to get past and never return to.
But, he's here again.
And somehow, this pain feels worse this time around than the first time.
—FLASHBACK
San sighs when he pulls up to his parents' house, aggressively shifting the gear to park before taking a moment to himself. He wasn't happy when his father left him a voicemail, scolding him for the rumors going around about him dating his student. He was quick to call him names and demand him to make things right before his name could be tainted in the industry. San isn't gonna lie, he's always looked up to his father. Things changed when San started making a name for himself in the academic industry, creating some kind of competitive tension between the two. Well, San never felt that way. His dad strongly did though, for whatever reason.
He never understood it. It's whatever.
What San wasn't having was the fact that his father kept calling you a little girl who only wanted to use him to work her way in and up.
He slams the door to his car, adjusting his hat and his jacket before tapping the code into the keypad on the front door.
"San, is that you?" He hears his mom's sweet voice call out to him. He smiles softly when she comes into view in the hallway, opening her arms for a hug. "Please don't mind your father, you know how he is. He's just concerned." She gives the back of his neck a reassuring massage.
"Mm, yeah. I can feel the concern especially when he starts calling me out my name."
"San." His mom gives him a look before his dad looks up from the paper he's reading on the couch, forehead crinkling when he sees his son walk in.
"Why are you here?"
"Hi to you, too." San says while his mom steps in the middle.
"Honey." She turns to his father.
"So, what was up with that voicemail?"
"Why don't you tell us what's been going on with you and your so-called girlfriend? Do you even care about yourself or what this could do to your career? You're so careless—"
"So what if I'm careless! You don't even know her so you don't have a right to do that!"
"Are you actually that stupid, San? Do you know how damaging this could be for you, for us?"
"What does this have to do with you?!" San's voice raises.
"It has everything to do with us! Everyone thinks you either forced that girl into a relationship or she threw herself on you and you stupidly took the bait!"
"Even if I said it wasn't like that, you wouldn't listen anyway!"
"Are you serious about her?"
"What makes you think I'm not? We're two grown adults who are capable of making our own decisions and knew the consequences from the very beginning."
"And you think she'll stay? Someone that young and who is just getting started with her life, basically. You think she'll stay and be there for you when times get rough?"
"Absolutely." His dad scoffs.
"Is that so? Wishful thinking. You couldn't even keep Iseul and now you're downgrading to a st—"
"Hey!" San's mom cuts off his father's statement. "That is enough from you. Don't finish that sentence."
"You have no idea what Iseul put me through!" San's tone is louder to match his father's energy. "I found somebody who genuinely and truly cares about me and who I am. That isn't enough for you? Just because she's a student, but a grown adult at that?! You can't even be happy for a second? You still find a way to be on Iseul's side even though she cheated with my bestfriend!"
"Maybe it's time you realized you pushed Iseul away. That was your own doing. And this girl? Don't come to me and make me tell you 'I told you so' when she leaves after she's gotten everything she needs from you." San's dad is fuming in front of him. "How could you be so sure things will be smooth sailing with her, hm? What makes you think this can work?"
"This is fucking bullshit, I'm not explaining myself to you. If you don't wanna be happy for me and support me, then so be it."
—END
San thinks maybe his dad was right; maybe this wasn't meant to be, and was just supposed to be another fleeting moment, another lesson.
Even though deep down, he knows it's far from it.
As he sits in his home office, he scrolls through old pictures of you and him together— you, pictures you've sent him. He feels the rush of sadness hit him like bricks, his chest almost physically hurting from the ache. He has this sudden urge to text you and call you, tell you how much he misses you.
But, he stops himself.
What if you stopped caring? What if you were so mad at him that you hated him?
He couldn't bear with it.
If only he knew how much you cried and yearned for him every night, if only he knew how much your head hurt while you laid on your mom's lap while she ran her hands through your hair— gently cooing you and shushing you to help you get some sleep.
If only he knew.
"Mom, I'm sorry." You cry and cry, laying your head on her lap as you let everything out. "You were right, I messed everything up. This was all so stupid. I'm so stupid."
"Don't say that." She shushes you and tries to coo you. "Don't ever say that again." She looks at you. "What happened?" You gather the strength to tell her everything that's been going on. How deep your relationship went with San and how well he took care of you. How you weren't always the most careful but the only reason why things blew up was because of Hae-jin, Iseul and Yunho. How Iseul and Yunho just keep trying to get in between, how Jiung even went to Professor Kim about all of this.
How San broke this off claiming he wanted to protect you and put you first.
How utterly sad and betrayed you feel.
"I'm just so tired of feeling this way. I hate how alone I feel. I hate how much I miss him. I hate how this unfolded the way it did."
"I'm so sorry, honey. You need to let things be for now, okay? I know that's not what you wanna hear, but you need to. Especially for school and yourself."
"Why does anyone care? Why does it matter?"
"People have nothing better to do, and I'm sorry it had to be those two and Jiung."
"I'm so tired, mom. When will this pass? What did I do wrong? Why did he leave so quickly?"
"Lovey. You did nothing wrong. It wasn't you at all, and it wasn't San either. The circumstances are just tough. You didn't know it would play out this way and I'm sure he has his reasons."
"What if he's just using that as an excuse? What if he really doesn't want this anymore?"
"If he really cared about you, why would he lie, Y/N? I'm sure he was doing his best to protect you both, especially you. I know it hurts right now, hun. But, maybe this is for the best." You don't wanna hear it even though your mom might be right.
Maybe this is for the best. Maybe this was just telling you this could never work between you two.
No matter how hard you both tried.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d64d38a1bab2a499f762f58ebbb78e6c/eaa2b16836c84202-ac/s500x750/cae21e5176648057ae9410fc01becae0dc6bc6ce.jpg)
San's urge to text or call doesn't lessen as the next few days go by, especially when he notices he hasn't seen any trace of you. He'll usually see you walking towards the biology building for Yunho's class or making your way to the dining hall with the girls.
If San hadn't overheard Sunwoo telling his lab mates that you were sick, he would've gone crazy.
It still doesn't help that you're feeling unwell and he can't do anything about it.
"Sunwoo." San pokes his head out of his door, causing Sunwoo to lift his head from his laptop and shift his attention towards him. "Can you meet really quickly?"
"Yeah, sure thing. Be right over!"
"Thanks." San heads back to his desk and lets out a breath, waiting for Sunwoo to come. It takes him less than 5 minutes to finally make his way into the office, rubbing his hands down his jeans. "Hey." San looks up at him. "Thanks for coming in on short notice."
"No prob! What's up, Professor Choi?"
"I wanted to talk to you really quickly because I wanted you to hear it from me directly. Starting next week, we'll be losing Y/N's support. She'll be heading to Professor Kim's lab."
"O-oh. Okay. Damn." Sunwoo ticks his head to the side. "Professor Kim with the steal." San chuckles a bit.
"Yeah." San can't even hide his sadness when he looks down at the papers beneath his hands that Sunwoo catches on and he feels bad. He still doesn't know the details and he never will, but if it's one thing he can gather right now, it's the fact that the room feels cold and empty.
It's the fact that San literally has to force himself to smile and deliver this news like all is okay and no big deal— when in fact, it fucking is.
Sunwoo feels so bad.
"So, I know she's out sick right now, but will I still get to see her before she goes? I wanna talk to her to wrap things up, too."
"When she returns, we'll make sure she has time to close loose ends with you and gather her things."
"Hm." Sunwoo nods slowly. "Okay."
"I'm sorry this came up so suddenly, but I had to make a few changes around here. We all thought she'd be a better fit with Professor Kim."
"I see. She's super smart and incredibly great at what she does, I know she'll do well in whatever she does and wherever she goes." San nods.
"Yeah, she will." He sighs. "There's another rotation student that I might bring in next quarter that might be a good fit to work with you, too. His name is Baehyuk."
"Cool. Down to meet whenever the time is right."
"Thanks, Sunwoo."
"No, thank you for always giving me some help and pushing me forward." San gives him a small smile. "Everything will work out."
"Yeah." Is all he could say in response. Because he hopes it will.
Right now, it seems like a far reach.
All San wants to do is love you, rather than hiding just how deeply in love he was with you.
—FLASHBACK
"Here, baby." He turns to hand you a plate with a smile on his face. "Think you can help me dry the last of these dishes and put 'em up?"
"Course, chef." He chuckles, watching as you tip-toe with nothing but his shirt on to reach over and place the dry dishes into the proper cabinet. You follow suit with the last three dishes, setting the towel aside while San wipes away the water droplets around the sink. "We did it, babe! All clean."
"Sure did." He laughs, caging you in against the counter to kiss you sweetly. "Thank you, baby."
"You're welcome." You giggle. "Thank you for making dinner."
"As long as you enjoyed." You nod.
"What do you wanna do for the rest of the evening?"
"Mm, we can watch a movie and fall asleep here on the couch without any worry."
"That's fun." You smile.
"Or, we can do other things that I have in mind." He brushes the hair away from your face while you wrap your arms around his neck.
"Ooh." You reply in a sing-song tone. "Care to indulge?"
"Absolutely." He says just as he swiftly carries you and wraps your legs around him. You squeal as he walks over to the couch and gently plops you down onto the soft cushions, wasting no time to attach his lips to every inch of skin he can. He slowly hovers over you, hands roaming up your shirt and tugging material along with it as he continues to move upward— exposing your cute pink panties from beneath. He sinks to his knees and pries your legs open after fixing your position to the edge of the couch. "Let me make you feel good, love."
"Yes please, Sannie. Please." You beg, watching as San slides down your panties and tosses them aside. His hands caress your thighs, giving them a good squeeze while laying open-mouth kisses along the surface. You continue to watch him, biting on your lip when he hovers over where you need him at most. He licks a stripe up your folds, causing your head to cock back against the cushion. He begins to gently kiss and suck at your heat— a satisfying, breathy moan leaving your lips as you let San relish being in between your thighs. He laps away at your clit, tonguing down your pussy as if he had been deprived of you for years.
You love/hate how good he is at this. "Babe—" You moan loudly, hips now working on their own terms against his mouth. He subtly nods as he continues to suck and lap away at your heat, tongue keeping you wet and filthy; just the way he likes it. "God, right there—" You whine, hips rolling upward and grinding against his mouth, his tongue.
You used to be so shy.
Now, you're not afraid to tell him what you want and he fucking loves it. "Oh—San— gonna—" Your statement comes out broken as you continue to work against his mouth, orgasm crashing down like a harsh wave against the shore. You grip his hair, body twitching as San continues to latch on and groan against your pussy; incredibly hard while watching the way your body surrenders all. "Fuck." You whisper, still twitching due to the aftershocks from your first orgasm of the night.
"That's my girl." He's back to kissing your thighs, hands gently rubbing up and down your leg as a way to soothe you.
"Need you." You tug him by the shirt to plant a messy kiss against his lips— shirt soon to be discarded on the floor, along with his sweats.
Now you're on his lap, slowly riding his cock just the way he likes it— the couch's throw blanket resting against the small of your back and draped along San's lap.
It's his favorite position after all.
"Mm— just like that, baby." He whispers against your lips as you continue to ride him slowly on the couch. "Just like that." He repeats. "You're my good girl, right? Just mine?" He asks lowly and you nod, letting out a sweet moan as he pinches your nipple and watches your head tilt back in pleasure. "Oh, fuck— just like that." His head rests back against the couch, feeling your walls brush against him and drag against his rock hard cock. "All mine."
"Mm'fuck, Sannie." You keep your head back, intense pleasure bubbling at the pit of your stomach. You take him slowly, deeply; his cock hitting all the right spots every time you do a 'lil tug and pull— hips carefully rolling against him.
"So fucking sexy." He groans. "God, you're everything." His lips drag against your skin, tongue swirling around your perky nipples as your hands tug on the ends of his soft, black hair. "Everything to me." He whispers as if your skin could hold all of the universe's secrets. The blanket is barely keeping up with your movements. San's hand comes up along the base of your neck, bringing you back down to envelope your lips with his.
The kiss is full of hunger.
The kiss is slow and steady.
The kiss is messy.
You break the kiss first, body slowly crumbling in his grip when you feel your high approaching quick. You moan loudly, breath ragged as you pant; hips slightly picking up the pace to push yourself further and further until you reach the edge.
"Oh—" San matches your moans. "That's it, sweetheart. Cum for me." He praises you, voice deep— tone sending vibrations all the way down to your core. "Give it to me. Wanna feel you cum all over this dick, angel." Hearing San talk the way he's talking is enough to make your coil snap. He continues to coo you as you come undone on his lap; stuttering in your movements and trembling in his grip. He places his hands on your hips, fingers digging deep into the flesh while he fucks up into you— reaching his high shortly after you with a loud groan and hiss. "Fuck, that was so good, baby." You giggle, forehead against his while his hands gently caress and your back. You leave a tender kiss against his plump lips, and he chases with a few repeated kisses before bringing you down with him on the couch. The both of you lay underneath the throw blanket, now properly covering most of your bodies while San holds you from behind. He has his propped up by an arm while you both watch the show on TV, but San finds his thoughts wandering elsewhere at some point. He begins to look around the house and notices how different it feels since you've been around.
Good different.
A space that used to he so grey, so lifeless; now has remnants of you everywhere.
Your polaroids.
Pictures of you and San in frames.
Your little stuffed animal keychains and rings thrown onto the kitchen island, or the room. Or even his desk in the office.
Your little post-it notes. Your favorite chips and snacks littered around the pantry.
You were there everywhere he turned, and he finds it's one of his biggest blessings.
Especially when you lay here on the couch with him, completely not minding the idea San proposed of just falling asleep on the couch together while sorting through movies.
You agreed so quickly and so happily.
No matter how big or small, most ideas just seemed silly in his last relationship.
But, now he has you— someone who is happy to just be with him and spend time with him. No matter how big or small the idea, the plans.
San loves you.
And he'll never take it for granted.

tittle:We’re tied
wc: abt 1k
summary: during and after the uconn vs st. john’s game. (in honor of Azzi’s 34 point game)
paring: Azzi & paige
authors note: I’m a baby writer, so i’m open to any suggestions (tips) & ideas.
—————————————————-
“let’s put belt to ass tonight”, Paige joked as she tied her shoes, looking around at all her teammates getting warmed up.
“you know we will, girl boo” kk added, followed by multiple chuckles and laughter from the other girls.
It was 7:10 pm, 20 minutes before the game. After warmups, the players headed back to the locker rooms to prepare themselves against St. John’s.
There, the blonde-haired girl, met a disassociated azzi fudd.
“az, what’s wrong?”, Paige asked concerned, as she sat next to Azzi on the bench, and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Why do you always assume something’s wrong with me, Paige?” azzi replied instantly, but calmly. “no reason, just wanted to make sure you're not in your head”, Paige said, still huddled over Azzi, with one arm over the younger girls shoulder.
Before Paige could form another sentence, it was game time. All the girls lined up in height order, from the shortest (kk) to the tallest (El alfey), and ran out into the arena, touching the fans' hands as they spread across the floor. After both teams' players settled into their positions, the game clock started and everybody locked in.
The crowd roared as UConn picked up the pace against St. john, notably Azzi who started aggressively, and ended the half by outscoring St John’s entire team with 17 points.
“fudd for three Sarah teased in the locker room during halftime. Though everybody was visibly happy for Azzi, the team knew Geno wouldn’t be pleased unless they kept the momentum going. So after the fudd hype died down, the team went over plays and rested until the second half.
The quarter started slow, but eventually, both teams got in rhythm. Though st. John’s started banking shots, it wasn’t enough to stop UConn.
Paige was a defensive beast tonight, blocking shots as if she were a center. Sarah and Jana in the paint were an undeniable duo, demanding the fans applause. Respectively Kaitlyn Chen followed suit with her impressive shot-making, and then there was Azzi..
Azzi had the crowd's attention,—proving why she was the nation's #1 ranked high school player(wb)in 2021. Aware that she was on the brink of beating her career high, she shot the ball with every opportunity she got.
Now at 28 points, the crowd went nuts, everybody was anticipating Fudd to drop a 30-piece. And that she did, in transition she caught an open look from kk and drained the 3 from behind the line. The crowd grew louder, and before they knew it, azzi fudd banked another 3, creating a new career high of 34.
No longer bearing the overwhelmed look Paige questioned earlier, azzi smiled. She embraced the crowd and headed to the bench to sit with Paige for the remainder of the 4th quarter . “that’s my shooter” " Paige said as she shook the younger girl's shoulder.
_______
After a long evening of press, the team finally made it on campus. Following behind ice as she opened the door, the girls flooded into the living room area. All expect fudd, who went to her room to live down the hype of the afternoon.
“Nika!!! Twin, I've missed you”, Paige said as she sat next to her on the couch. “I missed you too twin, she replied. The two caught up for a few minutes before Paige got distracted by a Twitter notification.
“Paige Bueckers jealous, of azzi fudd’s 34-point game?”, Paige read the highlight in disbelief.
Nika looked at the phone and shook her head, “the media will make anything a headline.”
Paige was irritated by the tweet, but it made her realize that Azzi had been m.i.a the entire night.
Without an explanation, Paige got up from the couch and left the living room. Despite the blonde not mentioning anything, the team had an idea of where she was headed.
“Baby.”, Paige whined as she knocked on azzi's door. “I miss you”.
In a matter of seconds, azzi unlocked her door and let the blonde in.
Before words were exchanged, Paige put her hands on Azzi's waist and passionately kissed her, gradually slipping tongue into her mouth.
“wow, baby I missed you too”, azzi said wrapped in Paige’s arms, in shock at the older girl's sudden desperation.
“Azzi you know I love you, right?”, Paige asked, not giving the younger girl a chance to respond. “You know I'm proud of you no matter how you perform on and off the court, right?”
This time azzi interjected before she could continue “Paige your eyes are watering, where’s all this coming from?”
“Well, l saw a tweet, and people think that I was jealous of your game today, and I don’t want you to believe that. Yes, I wish I could’ve shot the ball better and I was mad with myself, but I couldn’t be more proud of you tonight. Your my-”
Azzi cut the older girl off before she continued to ramble. “Paige, I love you too, and I’ve never doubted your support for me “
“so why did you rush into your room”, the blonde questioned.
“I just needed time to take it all in. Seeing my shots fall like that reminded me of my love for the game”
For a moment, comfortable silence filled the dimly lit room.
Azzi inched into her bed and sat up, resting on the headboard. Paige followed the younger girl into bed and put her head on azzis stomach.
Still in silence, azzi ran her hands through Paige’s hair, studying how clingy her gf was being (which she found super hot)
Breaking the stillness in the room, Paige held onto Azzi's stomach, and blurted out, “34 points, huh?” “sounds like a very familiar career high, don’t you think?”
“nope, doesn’t ring a bell”, azzi teased knowing her gfs career high was also 34.
“Right, right.” Paige replied jokingly, looking up at the girl she was going to please later that night.
“Just think of it like this, we’re tied”, Azzi said still stroking her gfs hair and admiring her girl.

LITTLE NERDY VALENTINE
A/N: one day late, but here's a bit of valentine's day cuteness with fratry bc i've been thinking a lot about him lately
WORD COUNT: 2.8k
SUMMARY: Harry wants to celebrate Valentine's Day, but you're not a fan of his plans of going out and you have your reasons for that, but talking about them is not easy, so it causes some frustration.
MASTERLIST | SUPPORT ME!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/44cf25e1a0aa46922da8411afd6aa0a9/81489c6ae920c2f1-52/s540x810/7e21fb61f26ebfb74d4b3fe948788c0032a36652.jpg)
“So, what do you want to do on Friday?”
Harry is lying on your bed with a textbook lying open over his chest, but he hasn’t read a single word of it in the last hour, he’s been too busy playing on his phone while you were sitting at your desk, working on a paper that’s due next week. He came over to study, but you both knew you’d be doing all the studying, you actually have no idea how Harry has good grades.
“Friday? What’s on Friday?” you hum, still typing away on your computer, pretending to be oblivious.
“You know…” He draws out the words, sitting up so his back is against the wall. He puts the textbook aside, closing it, done pretending he is actually reading any of it.
“Hm?” You sink your teeth into your bottom lip, eyes glued to the screen, but you can feel Harry’s burning eyes on your back.
“Y/N, it’s Valentine’s Day,” he chuckles, giving up the game. “We are having a Cupid’s Party at the frat house, but if you want to go out, maybe have dinner or something I’m down.”
“Uh, I don’t know…”
“Or we can go to the movies, I’m willing to watch that new romcom with you, if you want.”
“Harry…” Sighing you give up and finally turn with your chair to look at him, but you wish you didn’t because he is giving you those puppy eyes he knows you can’t resist and he is hugging your pink fluffy pillow like a little kid.
“Y/N?”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea to go out.”
You catch the tiny wince that twitches his lips, but he recovers quickly. You were really hoping you could avoid this conversation today, though part of you knew it would come up, since it’s Wednesday, only 2 days until Valentine’s Day.
His eyes jump down at the pillow as he starts fumbling with it, like a hurt kid who just got told no.
“Harry…”
“Are we ever gonna leave this room and act like a real couple?”
“Don’t start this again, please…”
“I just understand, Y/N,” he groans as he looks up at you again. “We’ve been together for over two months and I haven’t even held your hand in public.”
“That’s not true, you held my hand when–”
“When we were hiking in the middle of the woods so no one could see us. Yeah, you’re right,” he scoffs.
“We’ve talked about this,” you say, looking down at your lap as the guilt bubbles in your gut.
“Actually, we haven’t. You just keep telling me you need more time, but never really explain why or what bothers you. I’m trying to be patient, but I really want to take our relationship out of this tiny dorm room.” He gestures around your room where you spend the majority of your time together with him.
Chewing on your bottom lip you just keep picking on your chipped nail polish, not looking at him, but then he climbs to the edge of the bed so he is sitting right in front of you. He lifts your chin gently, forcing you to look him in the eyes.
“Y/N, what’s wrong? I’m more than happy to wait for you, but I need to know a bit more.” He places a hand to your thigh, reassuringly rubbing it as he waits for you to say something.
“I’m just… I don’t know, I like that it’s just the two of us.”
“Bullshit. It would still be just us.”
Ugh, you hate how well he knows you, you can’t lie to him, but you’re not willing to tell him the truth either.
“Can we just not talk about this right now? I really need to finish this pa–”
“Y/N, stop avoiding this, please. You know you can tell me anything.”
He is looking at you, waiting and expecting, but you just can’t give him what he wants. His gaze keeps flickering between your eyes, hoping you’d finally open up, but you keep your mouth shut. And then he loses his patience.
“Alright then,” he whispers, jumping up to gather his things, showing everything into his backpack.
“What are you doing?” you ask, watching him tug the zipper angrily before swinging the bag over one shoulder.
“I can’t do this, Y/N. I don’t want to hide and not even know why. You wouldn’t tell me what bothers you, so I have to draw my own conclusions and want to know what all of this seems like to me? Like you don’t want to be seen with me, like you’re ashamed of being with me.”
“Harry, that’s not true,” you protest, standing from your chair.
“Then what is it?”
You open your mouth, but your voice dies in your throat. Unfortunately, Harry takes that as your answer.
“Okay. Call me when you’re willing to talk.”
And with that, he is out of the room.
A couples’ party might not have been the best place to be today for Harry, but the thought of easing his mind with a few rounds of beerpong was good enough to make him leave his room and join the party.
Cupid’s Party usually has two groups of people: the happy couples, attached by the hip, eating each other’s face off and the single people getting wasted, hoping to at least hook up with someone. Currently Harry doesn’t feel like he belongs to any of these groups.
He assesses the living room over the rim of his red solo cup and tries his best to ignore the pain in his chest at the sight of all the happy couples in matching outfits, celebrating their love. In the beginning of the week he was still hoping he and you might be one of them, but things didn’t turn out to be the way he planned.
After the fight in your room you texted him, asking him to come back, but he made it clear he wouldn’t be doing that unless you’re willing to talk.
Which you werent, so it’s been radio silence since then.
He had to stop himself from texting or calling you like a million times, it’s been quite the fight since Wednesday, he’s been missing you like crazy, but he is also determined to finally move forward.
“You alright man?” Niall pats him on the back with a cup in his own hand that smells so much of alcohol that Harry can’t stop himself from wrinkling his nose. While he likes to have drinks, he is often surprised how some of his friends in the house haven’t died of alcohol poisoning.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he nods with a sigh.
“Uhuh, that’s why you’ve been moping around for days, right?” Niall laughs.
“I have not–”
“I have not been moping, you arse!” Niall mocks him, which he finds hilarious, but Harry just rolls his eyes and takes a swig from your drink. “Alright, if you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t push it, but if you feel like you need a shoulder, you can come to me.”
“I know,” Harry sighs. “Thanks, I’ll just get a refill for now,” he says, holding up his cup. Niall nods and they go their separate way.
Harry fights through the crowd towards the kitchen and tries his best not to get stopped by drunk girls that are more than eager to hook up with him tonight. He would love to tell them he is taken, but he can’t. Even despite the fight you had, he still doesn’t want to go against your will and tell everyone that you’re dating.
The kitchen is a mess, but he quickly finds the tequila and then mixes it with some pineapple juice, then he stops by the pizza and grabs a slice so his stomach wouldn’t be completely empty. Though his original plan was to get drunk, but now he is not feeling that, so this is probably his last drink, since he is starting to feel a bit dizzy.
Leaning against the counter he is debating if he should just go back to his room and spend the rest of the night playing video games, but then he spots an all too familiar face in the crowd outside in the hallway.
You look very uncomfortable, navigating between the half drunk people while looking like you’re searching for someone. Harry puts his pizza slice down right away and he just starts moving towards you when he sees a guy bumping into you, making your shoulder hit the wall.
“Ah, sorry sweetheart, you alright?” the guy asks and his hand is already on your arm, leaning way closer than you’d like him to.
“It’s okay Dave, I got her.” Harry pats him on the back in a friendly manner, though inside he is fuming at the way he is looking at you right now, like he is ready to peel you out of your clothes.
“Harry, hey! I was just–”
“I know, I got her,” Harry repeats, this time with a tougher look at the guy, which he finally notices so he just nods and wanders away. “Are you okay?” he asks, finally looking at you, keeping one hand on your elbow.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Can we talk?” you ask and Harry nods right away, moving his hand to the small of your back, guiding you upstairs, towards his room.
You’ve been to his frat house, you actually met him at a party here, but you’ve never been to his room. If the other boys saw you coming and going from his room it would have been quite obvious there’s something going on between the two of you, so you usually stayed at your dorm room where it was easier for Harry to sneak out without being noticed, that place is too big for anyone to notice him.
The hallway leading to his room is scattered with couples making out by the wall and you try not to stare at the pair that’s practically dry humping each other like they are in a private place.
Harry unlocks his door with his keycard and then ushers you inside, finally shutting the noises of the party out. You’re curiously looking around the room that’s a lot tidier than you expected. Aside from a few clothes lying in the corner and two unwashed mugs on his night stand, it’s pretty neat. On his desk you notice the book you gifted him a week ago. You pick it up and open it where the bookmark is at around the third of the book and then you realize the bookmark is a polaroid of the two of you. It was taken the first time he slept in your room, your faces are mushed together as you laugh at something. You remember him taking a picture, but you weren’t expecting him to use it as his bookmark, which is such a sweet thing.
He has been nothing but sweet to you and that just makes your guilt even worse for treating him the way you did.
When you turn around you find him watching you with his hands in his pockets, just patiently waiting for you to start talking.
“I’m sorry for making you feel like I’m ashamed of you. That was never the case and… yeah, I’m just really sorry.”
Harry nods, but then just keeps looking at you and you know he wants you to continue. So taking a deep breath you force yourself to keep talking before you chicken out.
“I was actually thinking it was the other way around.”
That confuses him, he frowns but before he could ask anything you just continue.
“We are not really from the same crowd. You’re… You live in a frat house, you play football, people know you around campus while I’m more like just… a face in the crowd. I know it’s such a cliché, but I felt like that if people saw us together they would question why you’d go out with me a-and–Um… I just…”
“And you thought that I would also question why I’m with you?” he finishes what you couldn’t and you just nod, feeling your throat closing up. It’s been such a heavy weight on your chest the past weeks and now that you said it out loud it’s a relief but you’re also worried how Harry will think of you now.
Then his eyes soften and stepping closer he gathers your hands between his palms, holding them to his chest.
“Y/N, you realize this is not a movie where there are popular kids and nerds and they never talk?” he asks with a soft chuckle, making you laugh.
“I know. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it’s just been haunting me.”
“Why didn’t you tell me about it?”
“Because it’s ridiculous,” you repeat. “Deep down I knew it, but I just couldn’t help it. I thought that I could get rid of it with time, but I couldn’t and I swear I didn’t want to hurt you with all of this, it’s just that I can easily get into these… spirals and it’s so hard to get out of them.”
“I know,” he softly says and leaning closer he kisses your forehead. “I just wish you told me so I could help you.”
“I’m sorry,” you whisper.
“It’s okay.”
Letting go of your hands he cups your cheeks in his palms as he pulls you in for a kiss while your hands fist the fabric of his shirt at his waist. He is sweet and gentle, his lips reassuring you that he is right here, with you. He rests his forehead against yours, his thumbs gently caressing your cheeks.
“By the way, did you just call me a nerd?” you ask, opening your eyes, making Harry laugh with your words.
“Do you not fit the nerdy stereotype of romcoms?” he challenges you with a wide grin on his face.
“Well, I do study a lot and spend every other afternoon in the library.”
“See? You’re my little nerdy Valentine,” he arches an eyebrow and you just roll your eyes at him, but can’t help the smile that tugs on your lips. Then slowly, his expression turns more serious. “So what would you like to do now?”
“I don’t know,” you admit with a sigh.
“Listen. If you need more time… I’m okay with that. I want you to feel comfortable and if that means that I have to convince you that no one will point fingers at us if they see us together, then that’s what I’ll do.”
You’ve known it from the beginning, but Harry just keeps proving that he is the right person for you and you couldn’t be more thankful for him.
Leaning in you kiss him shortly. “I want to move forward, I’m just a bit scared.”
“Then you’ll lead us in whatever pace feels comfortable for you, okay?”
You nod and he kisses you again.
“Do you want to go back down?” he asks, nodding towards the door.
“Yeah, I would like that.”
Walking out of his room he locks the door and the two of you head back down and you notice that he is still keeping his distance from you, not trying to change everything all of a sudden. Returning to the kitchen he makes you a drink and he grabs another slice of pizza when Niall emerges from the crowd.
“Hey, you’re still here! Thought you’d lock yourself up in your room soon,” he chuckles seeing Harry.
“You thought I’d bail?” Harry grins, leaning against the counter. Niall’s eyes move over to you.
“I think we haven’t met yet. I’m Niall.”
“Y/N,” you shake his hand. You catch a look the two boys exchange and after that, Niall just smiles at Harry knowingly.
“Alright, I’ll be by the beerpong tables if you need me,” he waves before making his way out of the kitchen.
“You have a bit of sauce there,” you point at Harry’s mouth smiling.
“Hm? Here?” he asks, wiping his lips, but he completely misses the spot, making you laugh. “Where?” he grins.
“Right there…” You raise a hand to help him out, but it stops midway when a thought pops into your mind and before you could talk yourself out of it, you lean in and kiss his lips.
“Now you’re good,” you smile against his lips. Harry can’t contain his growing grin, because this was the first time you kissed him in front of other people.
“I think it’s still there.”
“Oh yeah?” you chuckle at him.
“Yeah, all over my lips, everywhere.”
“Stop,” you roll your eyes at him laughing. He leans down and kisses you shortly before he continues eating his pizza, trying his best not to comment it when your hand sneaks into free hand, fingers lacing together.

The air outside is crisp, a reminder that winter hasn’t fully let go, despite the pink and red decorations plastered across storefronts. Valentine’s Day is a week away, and yet, as you step out of your apartment, the holiday is the furthest thing from your mind.
Until you nearly trip over something at your doorstep.
A single red rose rests against the welcome mat, its petals velvety and deep, almost too perfect to be real. A small, cream-colored card, tied around with a black ribbon sits at the center.
You bend down, fingers brushing over the card as you flip it open.
“You don’t see me for who I am, but I see you.”
A strange shiver trails down your spine.
You glance around the hallway of your apartment complex. The usual dull lighting flickers slightly, and the air is still. No sounds of footsteps, no hushed whispers from neighbors. Just silence.
A prank? A weird marketing gimmick? Maybe even a mistaken delivery? You don’t have a secret admirer. Or at least, not one you know of.
Still, you tuck the note into your pocket and step back inside, leaving the rose on the counter as you grab your phone. Without thinking, you call the one person who would get a kick out of this.
The line barely rings before Haechan picks up.
"Yo, what’s up?" His voice is warm, laced with the lazy charm that makes it impossible to tell whether he's just woken up or has been up scheming since dawn.
“You’ll never guess what I just found at my door.”
“You finally got that Amazon package you forgot you ordered?”
“No, you idiot.” You roll your eyes, staring at the rose. “A gift. A creepy one.”
There’s a beat of silence. Then, Haechan’s intrigued hum. “Creepy, huh? You have my attention. Spill.”
You quickly relay the details—the rose, the note, the unsettling feeling gnawing at your gut. You half-expect him to laugh it off, but instead, his voice drops into something quieter, more serious.
"And you're sure it wasn't left at the wrong door?"
"I’m not sure about that. My name wasn’t on it, but my neighbors are men. Who would do this to a guy?”
Another pause. Then, a small chuckle. "Well, well. Looks like you’ve got yourself a secret admirer."
"Not funny."
"Are you kidding? It’s hilarious." You can practically hear his grin through the phone. "You're living in a real-life romance movie. Or a horror movie. Either way, I’m invested."
You sigh, rubbing your temple. "So what do I do? Just… ignore it?"
"Absolutely not. We investigate. Duh."
Your brows furrow. "Investigate? It's probably just some dumb joke."
"Or," he counters, voice dripping with amusement, "it's the beginning of something way more interesting. C'mon, don't you wanna know who’s behind this? What if it’s some insanely hot dude or chick who’s just so in love with you but socially inept?”
You scoff. "Yeah, because nothing says romance like borderline stalking."
"Hey, some people are just dedicated," he teases. "Look at those BookTok people. And tell you what—meet me at the café in an hour. Bring the note. I wanna see it."
"You’re actually taking this seriously?"
"Of course! A mystery has landed right at your doorstep. And as your best friend, it is my duty to help you solve it."
You sigh. Haechan has always been dramatic.
"Fine," you relent. "But if it turns out to be a stupid prank, you owe me coffee."
"You got it, Valentine."
The café is buzzing with the usual mid-morning crowd: college students hunched over laptops, couples sharing pastries, baristas calling out names over the hum of conversation. The scent of coffee and warm vanilla lingers in the air, comforting and familiar.
You spot Haechan immediately. He’s lounged in the corner booth, one arm draped over the back of the seat, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips as he watches you approach.
“Took you long enough,” he teases as you slide into the seat across from him. “I was starting to think your mystery lover got to you first.”
You roll your eyes, fishing the note out of your pocket and dropping it onto the table in front of him. “Here. Do your thing, Sherlock.”
Haechan picks up the note with exaggerated care, holding it between his fingers like it’s a sacred artifact. He squints, tilts his head, even sniffs it dramatically before nodding. “Yep. Just as I suspected.”
You raise an eyebrow. “Which is?”
“This is definitely paper.”
You snatch the note back, smacking his arm with it. “Wow, incredible deduction dipshit.”
He laughs, dodging your hand before leaning in, his expression shifting into something more thoughtful. “No, but seriously. This is weird. The handwriting is neat, almost too neat. Like someone either really took their time or… copied it.”
You frown. “Copied it?”
“Yeah. Like, I dunno, tracing someone else's writing. See how the pressure is kinda uneven in some spots? It’s like they were trying too hard to be precise.”
You blink, staring at him. “Since when are you an expert in handwriting analysis?”
Haechan grins, tapping his temple. “I watch a lot of crime documentaries. Also, Renjun had a forgery phase in middle school, so I picked up a few things.”
“Of course he did,” you mutter, shaking your head. “Okay, so say you’re right—what does that mean?”
“It means whoever wrote this was really careful about not being recognized.” He leans back, drumming his fingers on the table. “Which makes me think this isn’t just some dumb prank. They don’t want you to know who they are.”
That unsettling feeling from earlier creeps back up your spine.
“What if it’s someone we know?” you ask, voice quieter now.
Haechan tilts his head, considering. “Could be. Or it could be some rando with a crush. Either way, we have a mission. I’ll show you just how good a duo we’ll be.”
You exhale. “And that mission is…?”
“To find out who’s been leaving you love letters, obviously.” He grins, reaching for his coffee. “And if they turn out to be hot, I take full credit for setting you up.”
You snort, shaking your head. “Unbelievable.”
“Hey, I take my best friend duties very seriously.”
You roll your eyes, but still can’t help but feel a bit uneasy by it all.
The uneasy feeling from the café lingers as you make your way home.
"They don’t want you to know who they are."
"What if it’s someone we know?"
You shake the thoughts away as you unlock your door, stepping inside. The first thing you notice is the rose, still resting on the counter where you left it. Something about it feels different now—less like a mystery and more like a warning.
You inhale deeply, trying to push the paranoia aside. Maybe this is all just a prank. Maybe Haechan’s just hyping it up because he loves drama. Maybe—
Your phone buzzes.
[Unknown Number]: Did you like my first gift?
A sharp jolt of fear twists in your stomach. Your fingers tighten around your phone as you stare at the message.
Not a prank.
Your mouth runs dry as you hesitate before typing back.
[You]: Who is this?
Three dots appear. Then disappear. Then appear again.
[Unknown Number]: You’ll see soon enough.
Your heart pounds.
And then… three quick knocks on your front door.
You jump, whipping around to stare at it. The knock surprisingly wasn’t loud nor aggressive. However it got the message across.
Slowly, you step forward, peeking through the peephole. The hallway is empty. With a shaky breath, you unlock the door and crack it open just enough to peek outside.
A small, velvet box sits on your welcome mat.
Another gift.
You glance both ways down the hall—still empty. Whoever left it is already gone.
Heart hammering, you crouch down and carefully pick up the box, stepping back inside before locking the door behind you. Your fingers tremble slightly as you open it.
Inside is a delicate silver locket, its chain coiled neatly in the box. You hold it up to the light, examining the intricate engravings along the edges. It’s beautiful—almost vintage.
But when you pry it open, your breath catches in your throat.
Inside is a tiny photograph. One you recognize immediately.
It’s you.
You, standing outside your apartment building, smiling at the camera. But what makes your stomach turn is the person beside you.
Because there was someone beside you. But their face has been completely scratched out. And you have no idea who it is.
Your pulse roars in your ears as your grip tightens around the locket.
This isn’t a joke.
You fumble for your phone and dial Haechan’s number. He picks up almost immediately.
"Yo, miss me already?"
"Haechan." Your voice comes out unsteady, breathless. "It happened again."
A pause. Then, his tone shifts. It’s calm, but sharper now. "I’m coming over."
Fifteen minutes. That’s all it takes for Haechan to show up at your door, slightly out of breath, a bag of convenience store snacks in one hand and his phone in the other.
“Okay,” he says, pushing past you into the apartment, “give me the rundown. And before you ask, yes, I brought emergency snacks because I know you stress-eat.”
You let the door swing shut behind him, arms crossed. “Haechan, this is serious.”
“I am taking it seriously.” He tosses a bag of chips onto the counter before turning to you. “Now, tell me everything before I assume you’ve been cursed by a Victorian ghost.”
You exhale, pulling the velvet box from your pocket and flipping it open. “I found this at my door. Look inside.”
Haechan steps closer, peering down at the locket. He picks it up, flipping it open with careful fingers. His expression shifts immediately—the usual mischief in his eyes dims, replaced by something darker.
“The hell…?” He traces a thumb over the scratched-out face in the photo. “Okay. This? This is officially creepy.”
“No kidding,” you mutter, rubbing your arms as if that will rid you of the lingering unease. “It’s my photo, Haechan. And someone ruined it.”
He doesn’t say anything at first, just stares at the image. When he finally looks up, his gaze is sharp. “Where did they even get this picture?”
“I don’t know. That’s what freaks me out.” You sit on the edge of your couch, fingers gripping the fabric of your sweater. “Someone had to have taken it themselves. But I don’t remember anyone standing next to me like this.”
Haechan clicks his tongue, flipping the locket shut. “Alright. That settles it. We need a suspect list.”
You blink. “You say that like this is some kind of crime show.”
“Well, yeah,” he deadpans. “Except way more fun because it’s happening to you.”
You throw a pillow at his head. He dodges it effortlessly, grinning.
“Okay, okay,” he says, plopping down next to you. “Real talk. Do you know anyone who might be obsessed with you? Secret admirer type, or maybe even an ex with attachment issues?”
You think for a moment. And then—
“…Jaemin.”
Haechan’s brows shoot up. “Jaemin?”
You nod, stomach twisting. “He flirts with me constantly, even when I brush him off. Plus, I know I’ve caught him taking pictures of me before, but he always plays it off like it’s just a joke.”
Haechan leans back, considering. “Okay. Solid lead. What’s our game plan?”
You chew on your lip before standing. “We ask him directly.”
Haechan grins, standing up beside you. “Ooooh, an interrogation? Spicy.”
You roll your eyes, shoving your phone into your pocket. “Let’s just get this over with.”
And with that, the two of you head out—ready to confront the first suspect.
Jaemin’s usual hangout is the campus library, though calling it “studying” is generous. More often than not, he’s lounging in one of the oversized chairs, scrolling through his phone, pretending to be busy.
That’s exactly where you find him now, stretched out with his feet propped up on another chair, earbuds in, humming to himself.
Haechan nudges you. “Your not-so-secret admirer is in his natural habitat.”
You sigh, straightening your shoulders before striding over. Jaemin looks up just as you plant your hands on the table in front of him.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he greets smoothly, pulling out an earbud. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Haechan plops down beside him. “We have some questions.”
Jaemin raises an eyebrow. “We?”
“Yeah,” you say, crossing your arms. “And you’re going to answer them.”
His lips twitch, amused. “Sounds serious.”
“It is serious,” you snap, pulling out the locket and placing it in front of him. “Know anything about this?”
Jaemin’s gaze flickers to the locket, and for the first time, his smirk falters. His fingers twitch like he wants to pick it up, but he hesitates.
“What is this?” he asks, voice quieter now.
“You tell me,” you say. “It showed up at my door today. Someone left it for me, along with a creepy note. And considering how often you love taking pictures with me, I thought I’d start with you.”
Jaemin’s jaw tightens. “You think I gave you this?”
Haechan tilts his head. “Well, you do flirt with Y/N like it’s your full-time job.”
Jaemin exhales through his nose, leaning forward. “Okay, yeah, I flirt. But this?” He taps the locket. “This isn’t me. I’d never scratch out my own damn face.”
Your stomach clenches. “So you recognize the picture?”
Jaemin hesitates for half a second too long. Then, he shakes his head. “No.”
You and Haechan exchange a look.
“You’re lying,” Haechan accuses. “Dude, you hesitated.”
Jaemin runs a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply. “I don’t know where this came from, but I’ve seen that photo before. Just… not like this.”
Your pulse quickens. “Where?”
Another pause. Then, reluctantly, Jaemin mutters, “Renjun’s phone.”
Both you and Haechan freeze.
“What?” Haechan blurts. “Why would Renjun have a picture of Y/N on his phone?”
Jaemin shrugs. “No clue. It was a while ago. I remember seeing it and asking why he had it, but he just brushed me off. Thought it was weird, but not, y’know—this weird.” He gestures to the locket.
You stare at him, heart pounding. Could it be Renjun?
Haechan crosses his arms. “Alright, Nana. We’ll put you on the ‘maybe’ list for now. But if we find out you’re lying…” He drags a finger across his throat dramatically.
Jaemin rolls his eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Can I go back to existing now?”
You nod slowly, mind already racing ahead.
If Renjun had that photo… What else did he have?
And what would the next gift be?
The walk back to your apartment is tense. Haechan is uncharacteristically quiet beside you, hands stuffed into his hoodie pockets, his brows furrowed in thought.
"You okay?" you ask.
He exhales through his nose. "Just thinking. If Jaemin’s telling the truth, why would Renjun have that picture?"
"That’s what we’re going to find out," you murmur.
When you finally reach your apartment door, a chill runs down your spine. Sitting on your welcome mat is another small box, this time heart-shaped and a deep shade of crimson.
"Of course," Haechan mutters. "Right on schedule."
You swallow hard, exchanging a wary glance with him before bending down to pick it up. Unlike the velvet box from before, this one is heavier. With trembling fingers, you lift the lid—
A soft, eerie melody drifts into the air.
A music box.
But something is… off. The tune warbles and distorts, as if the mechanism inside is struggling to play correctly. It’s haunting, a melody that should be sweet but instead sends a shiver down your spine.
Inside, nestled among the delicate gears, is a small folded note.
A song just for you.
You stare at the words, your pulse hammering in your ears.
Haechan leans in. "Okay, I really don’t like this one."
You shut the lid abruptly, cutting off the melody. "Me neither."
"Who the hell writes you a personalized creepy lullaby?" he mutters. Then, his eyes widen slightly, realization dawning. "Wait. Music. Writing. Oh, come on—"
"Mark." You say his name at the same time Haechan does.
Mark has always been the sentimental type. From writing poetry to composing random melodies in his free time. If anyone had the skills to create something like this, it was him.
You grip the box tighter. "We need to talk to him."
Haechan nods. "Now."
You and Haechan find Mark exactly where you expect him, tucked away in a corner of the campus music room, hunched over a notebook, a pencil pressed against his lips. His fingers tap absentmindedly against the desk, keeping rhythm to whatever melody is playing in his head.
Haechan nudges you. "Caught him in the act. Very suspicious."
You shoot him a look before stepping forward. "Mark."
Mark glances up, blinking in surprise. "Oh, hey. What’s up?"
You waste no time, setting the music box down on the desk in front of him. His eyes flicker to it, then back to you.
"Did you make this?" you ask.
His eyebrows pull together. "Uh… no?"
Haechan crosses his arms. "You sure? Because we know you write songs. And poems. And you definitely know everything about Y/N—"
"Okay, dude, chill," Mark interrupts, looking bewildered. "What’s going on?"
You exhale, rubbing your temple. "Someone’s been leaving me gifts. Creepy ones. This music box was the latest, and since you’re literally the most musically gifted person I know, I thought—" You hesitate. "I thought maybe it was you."
Mark stares at the box for a moment before shaking his head. "It’s not me."
"Not even a little?" Haechan presses.
Mark sighs. "Look, yeah, I write songs. And sure, I might notice things. Like when you change your coffee order or cut your hair. Maybe I think you’re really cute. But that doesn’t mean I’m stalking you."
Haechan raises a skeptical brow. "Then what about your latest poetry post? The one about ‘loving from afar’?"
Mark’s expression shifts. His ears turn red.
Oh.
You narrow your eyes. "Mark?"
He groans, rubbing the back of his neck. "That wasn’t about you, okay?"
Haechan gasps, dramatic as ever. "Then who?"
Mark hesitates, then mutters, "My ex."
You and Haechan exchange a look.
"Oh," you say.
"Oh," Haechan echoes, slightly disappointed. "So you’re the heartbroken one, not the creepy one."
Mark shoots him a glare. "Obviously."
You sigh, dragging a hand down your face. "Okay. Sorry for accusing you. This whole thing is just messing with my head."
Mark softens. "Yeah, I get it. But seriously, if someone’s messing with you, you should be careful."
You nod, but your mind is already racing ahead.
The moment you step into your apartment, you feel it.
Something is waiting for you again.
Your breath catches as your eyes land on the small, folded piece of paper slipped under your door. The edges are slightly frayed, as if it had been torn from a notebook in a rush.
Haechan picks it up before you can. His fingers brush over the paper before carefully unfolding it. His eyes scan the words, his expression darkening.
You take the page from him and read:
"I see you even when you don’t see me.I wonder if you know how much you mean to me.If I could just tell you—”
The words stop abruptly, the last sentence unfinished.
And at the bottom, only a single initial is signed:
“R.”
You stare at it, heart hammering. "R."
Haechan exhales. "Renjun."
It makes sense. Jaemin had mentioned Renjun having your picture. And now this, a love confession, hesitant and unfinished.
You swallow hard. "We need to talk to him."
Haechan nods. "Before another one of these shows up."
Renjun is easy to find.
The art studio on campus is practically his second home, and sure enough, when you and Haechan arrive, he’s hunched over a sketchbook, completely lost in his work. His pencil moves in steady strokes, the faintest furrow between his brows as he concentrates.
Haechan leans in. “Bet he’s sketching you right now.”
You elbow him before clearing your throat. “Renjun.”
Renjun jumps, startled, before snapping his sketchbook shut. “Oh—hey. What are you guys doing here?”
Haechan plucks the journal page from your grasp and drops it onto his desk. “Care to explain this?”
Renjun’s gaze flickers to the torn-out page. He lets out a sharp inhale, as his shoulders start tensing.
“So it is yours.”
Renjun stays silent for a beat too long before he exhales, rubbing the back of his neck. “Where did you get this?”
“It was slipped under my door,” you say carefully. “You signed it with ‘R.’”
Haechan crosses his arms. “Looks real bad, dude.”
Renjun lets out a quiet laugh, but it’s more of a nervous laugh than a humorous one. “Yeah… I can see that.”
Your pulse quickens. “So you did write it?”
Another pause. Then, finally, he nods. “Yeah. But not for you.”
You blink. “What?”
Renjun sighs, running a hand through his hair. “I did write that confession. But it’s old…I wrote it last year, for someone else.” He taps the page, his lips pressing into a thin line. “I threw this out months ago. I have no idea how you ended up with it.”
Haechan whistles low. “Okay, that’s actually kinda messed up.”
Renjun shakes his head. “ If someone dug this up just to mess with you… That’s not romantic. That’s obsessive.”
You grip the edge of the desk. “Then what about those photos you took of me?
Renjun looks at you, his expression not wavering, “I take photos of everyone. It’s practice for more naturalistic portrayals of human figures.”
A chill runs down your spine.
If Renjun didn’t leave the page for you… then the real admirer wasn’t just watching you. If they had gotten their hands on Renjun’s photos then…
They were watching everyone.
That night, you barely sleep.
Renjun’s words keep replaying in your mind. ‘That’s not romantic. That’s obsessive.’
The pieces aren’t fitting together. The gifts, the messages, the calculated way they’re being delivered. This isn’t just someone with a crush. This is someone who has been planning this.
You’re still lost in thought when you hear it.
A soft thud outside your door.
Slowly, you sit up, heart pounding in your ears. Haechan, asleep on your couch, stirs slightly but doesn’t wake. You swallow hard and push yourself to your feet. Step by step, you inch toward the door, pulse hammering with every movement.
You already know what’s waiting for you.
Another gift.
With trembling hands, you open the door.
Sitting on the welcome mat is a small, heart-shaped box, identical in size to the one that held the music box. But this time, the deep red velvet is stained. Dark splotches sinking into the fabric, like something wet had been resting there before drying.
Your stomach turns.
Slowly, you pick it up. It’s heavier than you expect.
You hesitate. Then, you lift the lid.
Inside, cushioned in soft silk, isn’t chocolate.
It’s a tooth.
A human tooth.
Your throat felt dry as you wanted to retch in disgust, while the box nearly slips from your hands. Your vision blurs as you stare at it, uncomprehending, unwilling to believe what you’re seeing.
Beneath the tooth, there’s a note.
"Now you’re mine."
Your fingers shake as you unfold the small slip of paper.
And that’s when you see it.
The handwriting.
It’s Haechan’s.
Your body goes cold.
Behind you, the couch creaks as he shifts in his sleep.
And you realize—
You’re trapped inside your apartment.
With him.
Your fingers tighten around the note as your heartbeat thunders in your ears.
Every nerve in your body screams at you to move. But you’re frozen. The weight of the realization crashes over you in suffocating waves.
It was him.
It was always him.
A slow creak fills the silence. The sound of someone shifting.
“Hm… you’re up?”
Your breath stutters as you whip around. Haechan is sitting up on the couch, rubbing his eyes sleepily. His voice is laced with drowsiness, but his gaze—when it lands on you—is sharp.
Too sharp.
His eyes drop to the box in your hands. He sees the note. The tooth. And then… he smiles.
A lazy, knowing smile.
Your stomach twists. “Haechan…”
He tilts his head, still watching you. “You don’t look happy to see your gift. But don’t worry I’ve improved on it.”
Your grip tightens on the box. “Why?”
Haechan exhales through his nose, shaking his head like you’ve just asked something ridiculous. “Come on, Y/N. You’re smart. You’ve been smart this whole time. Figuring out clues, questioning the right people.” He leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “Except you never questioned me.”
You take a step back. “You helped me.”
“I guided you.” He corrects, his voice smooth. “I made sure you followed the right trail. I led you to suspects just to watch your reactions. Watch you look at them instead of me.” His smile widens, his dimples deep but unsettling. “And you fell for it. Every time.”
Your skin crawls. “The rose. The music box. The torn-out page?”
“All me,” he confirms easily. “Jaemin? Mark? Renjun? They were never real threats. Just distractions. I needed to make sure your eyes weren’t on me until the right moment.”
“And the tooth?” Your voice is barely above a whisper.
Haechan’s smile fades slightly, his expression unreadable. “That one’s special.” His fingers brush over his lower lip, and something dark flickers behind his gaze. “A part of me. It’s yours now.”
No way.
"Now we match."
A sick realization slithers through you.
Haechan… pulled out his own tooth.
For you.
A cold sweat prickles down your spine. “You’re insane.”
Haechan only grins. “I’m in love.”
You feel the blood drain from your face.
He sighs, standing up slowly. “I knew you wouldn’t understand right away. That’s why I took my time. I sent gifts and gave you a story to follow.” His voice softens, almost affectionate. “I wanted to watch you figure it out. I wanted to see the exact moment you realized it’s always been me.”
He takes a step forward.
And you take a step back.
His eyes flicker with amusement. “Still running from me?”
Your fingers curl into fists.
You need to get out.
Now.
Haechan watches you like a predator sizing up its prey. His smile is still there, but now, you can see it for what it truly is. A mask. A carefully crafted performance. And you were his favorite audience.
Then, he moves.
Slow, deliberate. Like he has all the time in the world. From his pocket, he pulls out a small velvet box. A jewelry box. He rolls it between his fingers, eyes never leaving yours, before sliding it across the coffee table toward you. “I saved the best for last,” he murmurs.
You don’t want to look.
But you do.
Your hands tremble as you reach for the box, flipping it open. Inside, nestled in dark velvet, are a pair of earrings.
The charms dangle from delicate gold hooks, polished smooth. But even in the dim light of your apartment, you can see them for what they are.
Teeth.
Human teeth.
Your stomach twists violently.
Haechan hums, tilting his head. “They’re beautiful, aren’t they? I worked so hard on these.” His voice drops into something softer, almost coaxing. “You’ll wear them, won’t you?”
Your breath comes in shallow gasps.
You need to get out.
Haechan sees it before you even move. His lips curl into a knowing smirk, and then—
The lights flicker.
A click.
Your front door.
Locked.
Your heart slams against your ribs. “Haechan—”
He only smiles, stepping closer.
“Shh,” he soothes. “It’s Valentine’s Day, baby.”
A flickering TV screen bathes the darkened room in cold, artificial light. The newsroom anchor, a solemn-looking woman, speaks in a measured, professional tone.
"Breaking news tonight—local authorities have launched an investigation into the disappearance of Y/N L/N, last seen on February 14th. Friends report that they were searching for a secret admirer who had been leaving a series of mysterious gifts. However, they never returned home. If you have any information regarding their whereabouts, please contact—"
The report continues, but the sound is drowned out by the hum of a familiar tune.
A figure strolls past the display window of an electronics store, hands tucked casually into his pockets. His hoodie shields most of his face, but the dim glow of the screens flickers against his features.
Haechan.
A soft, lilting hum escapes his lips.
"My funny valentine…"
He walks on, disappearing into the city’s shadows.
The TV screen flickers.
The missing person poster flashes across the screen.
“The case remains open.”
“For now.”
me when i basically lied in the summary but not really 🫶🤗 love u guys too !!

Twice Interactive Story Part 14 Push & Pull (Jihyo, Feat. Sana, Dahyun)
You put a penguin doll in Mina's arm before you leave quietly, you see Mina smiles again when she gets something in her arms again.
You get in your car and check your phone to see did anyone find you, Nayeon is not on the list. There are messages from Dahyun, Momo and Jihyo.
Dahyun 'Oppa, I am coming over tonight, remember pick me up!'
Jihyo 'Y/N, are you ok? I saw Nayeon cries when she back home last night, and she leaves again this morning.'
Momo 'Y/N, why would Nayeon know our relationship, you told her? She send me this' Momo's message and attached with a photo of Nayeon's selfie when you are fucking in doggy style just two nights before with a message 'Leave my boyfriend alone.'
You finally understand why she will stop moving for a while suddenly that time, she was taking photos.
I check how long ago the message from Dahyun was and respond accordingly. I tell Jihyo that things have changed and she doesn't have to worry about it. I tell Momo that I didn't tell Nayeon anything and that I just told her that I still went to you as a personal trainer. After all that I go home quickly to change.
You reply to Dahyun that you are going to pick her up tonight and reply to others accordingly.
You arrived home and see Jihyo resting on the sofa, 'Welcome back, Y/N. What happened yesterday, Nayeon leaves in the morning before I wake up.' You did not reply but immediately check your wardrobe, Nayeon did not bring her belongings back to her home, is it means there is still a chance for you?
"It’s nothing Jihyo, don't worry about it. My relationship status may have changed, so sex might be off the table now." I tell Jihyo as I poke my head out from my room. I start to pack Nayeon's clothes in a bag or suitcase before I have to pick up Dahyun.
'I'm definitely not asking for sex now, Y/N. But did Nayeon just find out that you have friends with benefits, I can feel it from her reactions. It's just like me before.' Jihyo comes in and helps you pack Nayeon's belongings.
"It was one person particularly. Nayeon sent a message to them about staying away from me. That being said that doesn't change anything with you staying here that way Daniel doesn't find you. Also my sisters are staying for a while." After I finish packing, I check the time.
Seeing still have some time left before you going to pick up Dahyun, you and Jihyo back to living room for some coffee.
Jihyo and you just chit-chat while waiting, 'I'm curious Y/N, if you have one more chance, will you still hook up with other girls and then break up with Nayeon? She's definitely not like me that can tolerate so much time.'
"There are two paths, if it's relationship over I'm just going to be single for a while. If she chooses to stay with me for some reason, I'll won't do it again. I've learned my lesson. If you don't kind my asking, why did you deal with it for so long?"
Jihyo looks at the ground when she hears your question, 'I once believed he will change for me, I innocently thought the marriage could make him tied to me, but I was wrong.'
'So you and Nayeon have officially broken up? Maybe we two injured souls can try to be together?' Jihyo teases you.
I chuckle before looking away "I don't know if we are broken up, if we are I wouldn't mind trying with you. But would you really be willing to try again with someone like me?"
'You know you are playboy too huh, Y/N?' Jihyo spanks your shoulder and giggles. 'I don't know, my heart always comes before my mind. But I guess I have a lot of competitors, your colleague, your friend with benefits, and also your little secretary. Mina is so obvious you know?'
"Mina does make it obvious, she'd be your biggest challenge. She's always so helpful and willing to put me first. She should really find someone better." I say with a laugh.
'Maybe She thinks you are the best for her.' Jihyo smirks and looks at the clock, '30 minutes before you got to go, a quick one?' Jihyo comes closer to you and sits on your lap.
"I don't know, what if Nayeon comes back?"
'OK, so you gonna abstinence until you know the results? Can you do it, haha? Jihyo catches your cock before she backs to her room, 'I will miss you, big guy.'
'Hey, Y/N, better finish dinner with your sister before coming back, don't wanna act like your new girlfriend when we first meet, so awkward.'
"Yeah, I will." I walk out of the apartment and head to my car to get to the airport early.
You waiting for Dahyun at the terminal while playing your phone, and you receive Momo's message that she wants to see you tonight. When you wanna reply to her, you see Dahyun rushing to you, 'Oppa!'
'Hey, Dubu, still so tiny huh.' 'Yah, Oppa.' Dahyun wants to hit your head but she's too short to reach it, so she just hit your chest.'
'Where is Nayeon eooni, I thought she is with you already.' Dahyun turns around and try to search for Nayeon.
"She won't be around Dahyun. Let's get you something to eat. What do you want to eat?" I ask to distract her.
You help Dahyun get the suitcase and guide her to your car. 'I miss the food you cook, Oppa. How about you cook for me.'
Remember what Jihyo told you, you only can reject Dahyun's request. 'Sorry, Dubu, not many ingredients left at home, maybe next time? We will just casually eat tonight.'
'Ok... I forgot how long did we last meet each other, you are much thinner, so much stress on work?'
'Nah, Dubu, just as usual, I'm fine. Did you start finding jobs, you have graduated for half a year already.'
'Ummm, I am trying, just give me sometime, oppa. I am working on it.'
"Ah Dubu, you need to look harder. And if you don't choose a place to eat I'll choose." I say as I start driving.
You drive to a random restaurant and have dinner with Dahyun, you two talk about all the things that happened from last time you meet.
'OH, Oppa, I guess I don't need to share a room with Chaeyoung, right? if Nayeon eooni is not here.' Dahyun smirks.
Your home has 3 rooms, usually, Chaeyoung and Dahyun need to sleep together when Nayeon is staying, as you don't want to cause any embarrassment to your sisters, although Nayeon is not here, now Jihyo has occupied 1 of them, maybe it's time that you should tell Dahyun you have a guest.
I explain to Dahyun the situation Jihyo is going through and that she will have to share a room with Chaeyoung.
'OH, come on, Oppa, I have expected I can have my own room at your home.' Dahyun shows a sad face. You caress Dahyun's head, 'Dubu is a good girl, right? You should understand what situation Jihyo is facing, you won't be happy too right? And you can occupy the room until Chae arrives, don't be sad!'
'Yes, but does Nayeon eooni knows you bring a girl home?' You are a little bit frustrated that Dahyun is keep mentioning Nayeon.
"Dahyun, Nayeon and I are going through a rough patch right now. I'd appreciate it if you didn't mention her." We finish the meals and begin our ride home.
Dahyun's emotions are hard to describe, but you can catch her happiness before it disappears when she hear Nayeon and you have some arguments. You two did not talk about Nayeon again through the dinner.
You two finished the dinner and ready to back home. 'Oppa, what if we buy some snacks and watch movie together tonight?' In the meantime, you remember Momo wants to see you tonight either.
I quickly send Momo a message and ask if we could meet another time for the reason that I'm picking up Dahyun from the airport.
'Y/N, I am just so afraid that why Nayeon will know what happens, if you can't come today, how about tomorrow.' Momo replies immediately. You then drive to some snacks before back to home.
Jihyo is sitting on the sofa again when you arrive, 'OH hi Y/N, and little sister, your brother should have mentioned about me, Nice to meet you, sorry for disturbing your family day.'
I send Momo another message to say I'll meet her tomorrow, then I introduce Dahyun to Jihyo. I ask Dahyun "Dahyun would it be alright if Jihyo joined us for the movie?"
'Sure Oppa, your friend is my friend too.' Then you three sit on the sofa and start watching the movie.
You sit between Jihyo and Dahyun, each of you covering a blanket or pillow while enjoying the movie. You suddenly feel Jihyo 's chest pressing on your arm, you turn around to check Dahyun, she is too focusing on the movie and not paying attention to you.
Jihyo put a finger on her lips, tell you to keep quiet, and start caressing your cock under the blanket.
I keep quiet recognizing that if I said anything it would give it all away.
Jihyo is happy that you are so obedience and not making any noise, she put your hands into your pants and start stroking you slowly.
Seeing your body shivers from the sensation, Jihyo blows hot winds into your ear and whispers to you, 'You seems so excited when I am stroking you next to your baby sister, enjoying it?'
I whisper back "stop it, you're going to get us in trouble."
'Relax, Y/N. Let me handle it, Dahyun won't know what's happening, she loves the movie so much.' Jihyo starts stroking you faster.
You try your best to not release any moans, but Jihyo's hand is really good, and you wanna cum. Jihyo feels your cock pulsing in her hands, 'Cum for me, I am ready.' Jihyo then kisses you to cover your moan.
I cum in Jihyo’s hand, I'm grateful for the kiss as I'd otherwise release a huge moan. Once we break it off, I whisper to her "I'm going to get you back for this."
'Wow so many, you are really so excited, don't you?' Jihyo pulls out her hand and start licking it. 'You know where to find me if you want to thank me.' Jihyo whispers again before she moves to bathroom to clean her hands.
You notice Dahyun is still focusing on the movie and doesn't know Jihyo has left for bathroom.
As much as I want to get Jihyo back at this moment, I keep myself in my seat for a time before going to the bathroom.
You wait for Jihyo's return before you go to the bathroom to tidy up yourself, Dahyun finally out of her concentration and wanna sit closer to you.
'Oppa, that part is so good, isn't it? The tension is so strong.' Dahyun tries to talk about the film, but actually you are totally into Jihyo's handjob at that moment, so you could just simply answer her yes.
'Oppa, the smell is so strange suddenly, what is it?' Dahyun turning around to check what smelling strange in the living room.
"I'm not sure, did you fart Dahyun?" I joke to her, as I make sure she shouldn't see anything.
'Ya, Oppa!' Dahyun spanks you and then move back to her seat. You just giggle and start watching the movie. Finally, Jihyo has come out from the bathroom, you rush inside immediately before Dahyun could find out anything.
The rest of the night just spend normally, all of you are going to bed after movie has ended. You see Jihyo winks at you before she enters her room.
I help Dahyun get set up in her room before going back to my own.
You help Dahyun unpack her luggage, and you see some formal dressing in her suitcase, Dahyun pushes you out before you ask any questions. 'Now get out, let my enjoy my own room.'
'Aren't you have whole of the house when Chae is living in dorm, huh?'
'That's different, Oppa. Goodnight.'
You go back to your room, laying on your bed, ready to end the day. Your phone buzzes, and it's Sana message.
'I heard you have some fun with Mina alone today huh? On sick leave together and she applies it for you. The office is talking about you two again, I wish I was there too.' Sana attached a photo of her opening her clits for you.
"I was hungover from the night before Sana. I was in no condition to come in." After I respond, I just lay back and relax for a minute.
'Oh, sex after drunk? I wanna try with you too.' Sana attaches a video this time, a self cam in a high angle, she is not wearing bra in the pajamas, you can see her nipples clearly while she is playing with her tits.
"Sana just get some sleep." I delete the conversation logs after keeping things safe for myself.
'It's Friday night, why can't I have some fun before I sleep?' Sana sends you another video where she is sucking her finger while looking at the camera seductively.
You back up the video to the locked folder and prepare to clear the message log again, Sana's text comes again, 'Maybe we can try phone sex tonight? If Mina or your girlfriend is not beside you😏😏'
"Not interested Sana. You enjoy yourself." I respond before I head to the kitchen to make myself a snack.
You head to Kitchen and grab some chocolate for night snacks, you check your conversation logs with Nayeon, she still hasn’t online since last night.
You sigh and return to your room, you see Jihyo slightly opens the door of her room, enough for you to peek inside.
I look at the door debating if I should go, but first I check on Dahyun. Putting my ear to her door to see if she's awake or not.
You hear no sound from Dahyun's room, she should be asleep already. You back to the corridor and your phone buzzes again, It's Sana again.
This time the video is she masturbating with a dildo and moaning your name, 'having a dildo in my pussy, but it's nothing when comparing with you.'
"Sana, nothing is going to compare to me" and then emoji with the tongue sticking out is what I respond with. I put my phone to vibrate only and then I head back to Jihyo’s room.
You slowly enter Jihyo's room and lock the door. Jihyo is sleeping on her bed, with a sexy lace pajamas, you can see her got body inside the pajamas. You don't understand why Daniel would still hook up with others even he has a such needy and hot wife at home.
I get beside Jihyo and pull down her pajama bottoms before I start teasing her pussy. I get my other hand ready to cover her mouth, so she doesn't make noise.
Jihyo wakes up from your assault, she grabs your hand on her mouth in her pajamas to play with her tits and turns around to make out with you. You can see the lust burning in her eyes, seems she is really needy as her husband ignores her for a long time.
"Seems like you really want this Jihyo." I say as my fingers go under her panties and inside if her.
'Stop teasing me, Y/N! Put it In!' Jihyo bites your lips and row over you, wanting to ride you.
Her tits keep bouncing as she breathes heavily, you put your hand on it and start playing with it.
I roll her over so I'm on top again. Covering her mouth again, and thrusting my fingers into her pussy. "Oh no, Jihyo. You teased me earlier, it's my turn."
Jihyo's tits till bouncing, her body twists due to the sensation, 'Ah, faster Y/N, please put it in. At least I let you cum.' Jihyo starts to moan louder to contest your teasing.
"Don't worry I'll let you cum." I say as I kiss her. "Get any louder and I'll stop right now." I continue kissing Jihyo to make her be quiet.
Jihyo cannot hide her moan so she just grab your head to kiss harder, you are feeling her become tighter, you thrust your finger faster until she reaches her orgasm.
'Ummm....' Jihyo moans in your mouth when she reaches her orgasm, you finally let go of her lips and let her catch her breath, but still slowly thrust your finger in her pussy.
Her bouncing tits are so eye-catching, so you just can't wait to suck her nipples.
As much as I want to continue this I continue, i pull my fingers out and have Jihyo suck them clean before I leave.
You let Jihyo clean your fingers before you leave, 'What? That's all?' Jihyo looks in disbelief when she sees you leaving her room.
"Yep, I just wanted to get back at you." I walk back over to her, rub her pussy again. "Don't you worry, I'll make sure to fill you up next time." I kiss her cheek and then leave.
'I wear this pajama for you, Y/N. Even Daniel hasn't seen me wearing it.' Jihyo said with a sad face. You comeback and give her one more kiss and leave eventually.
You back to your room and finally start to sleep, it's already midnight. You think about tomorrow's date with Momo before you fall asleep.
I'll wake the next morning well rested and ready for the day.

summary:Matt’s girlfriend and Nate finally meet in person for the first time, and things take an unexpected turn that’s way beyond just being friends.

character count: 2982
warnings: porn with plot in a way, p in the v obviously, cheating, almost getting caught?, telling matt Nate is fucking his girl, rough sex, backshots, riding, somewhat rushed.
a/n: I tried my best especially for a car sex fic😭 i’m so glad you guys give me ideas because I swear I had NO motivation for the past few weeks.. ALSO GO LISTEN TO MUTT BY LEON THOMAS!!
It felt so good.
Yet it was so wrong.
It all started when we visited Boston around Thanksgiving, Which ended up with me meeting Nate.
Though he was a likable guy, we exchanged glances.
And not platonic ones.
The next time, Chris, Nick, Matt, and I went to Boston it gave me and Nate time to “catch up” with each other.
That's how I found myself in the backseat of his car.
FAST FORWARD
His hips started thrusting up, his movements going from slow and gentle to rough and fast. His balls smacked against your ass with each and every thrust.
“S-shit missed those so fuckin’ badly.” His grip on your hips was easily hard enough to leave multiple bruises, obviously not caring if Matt saw them or not, you’d just come up with another lie.
You guys were making such a fucking mess, all types of substances leaking all over the leather car seats, the windows were completely fogged up, thin layers of sweat dripping everywhere.
The two were completely in pure bliss before Nate’s phone started to ring. It was Matt. It was always matt.
“Shit it’s matt, y’gotta be quiet f’me” you only let out a quiet whimper in response. Your sweat hands slapped over your mouth before he answered the phone.
While talking to matt he flipped you over on your stomach so your whimpering and whining didn’t pick up as much.
“Wassup matt?” His pants somehow shallowed down making it sound like he isn’t going balls deep in his girl. “Are you guys almost ready? We’re trying to hurry up dude”.
Course he was acting entitled. As always. “Yeah just wait a few minutes, y/n’s looking for her- glasses” he lied through his teeth, somewhat trying to see if matt actually payed attention to small things.
“Oh alright, just like— try and hurry up a bit” Matt spoke before hanging up.
You don’t wear glasses.
The minute the screen went to the call screen and back to the message, Nate threw his phone into the front seat and went right back to driving into you.
"look so pretty taking my cock like a good little slut, you must love the idea of cheating on Matt with his best friend, huh? Do you?" Nate grunted, The degrading making you moan loudly.
A sweaty hand slapped against the window, “Nate,” you gasp, clenching around him. “That feel good pr-pretty girl?” You could only blubber out somewhat coherent sentences.
M’so close. I gotta—fuck, I gotta cum!” With each harsh snap of his hips, the sticky, creamy sappy mixture pooled up around the base of his dick.
“Yeah?” He paused so he could take a short breather. “You’re gonna cum? Shit— m’close too, where you want it?”
“I-in me please, please Nate I need it” His hips faltered before you felt his warm seed fill you up in long spurts.
His thrusts continued until your earth shattering orgasm came, making you see specks of white each time you blinked.
Winding down after a few moments of zoning out and panting, Nate opened his glove compartment and got out some napkins to wipe you and the seats up.
“Shit we gotta hurry up, it’s been a while,” Nate spoke out, grabbing a stick of deodorant and applied it to himself and handed it to you to apply.
“Nate— do you think they’re suspicious of us?” You spoke up, your voice slightly worn out but still clear as day.
“Yeah probabl—“ his phone rang again, a text from Matt, “I swear this dude”. He pulled up his pants and boxers while you continued to get dressed.
He reached for the backseat to grab his found and unlocked it. His fingers already typing.
“Nate what the fuck are you gonna say to him,” You spoke up while glimpsing over his shoulder. “You gotta tell him eventually y’know. Since you won’t do it”
“I’ll do it.”

raw
lando norris
tags: smut/pwp, unprotected/unsafe sex, half-assed pull out method, doggy style, back shots, friends-to-lovers, best friend!lando
lando had to be dreaming. the type of dream he didn't want to wake-up from. he would much rather be here than anywhere else right now. especially as you crossed your arms, letting the mclaren logo stretch across your pretty tits.
the tits that lando had been eyeing for years now. you were his best friend since childhood and now you were in your hotel room for the evening after silverstone with a single request for the grand prix's winner.
fuck me. and fuck me raw. lando had to be dreaming.
you uncrossed your arms and leaned back on the bed with your arms stretched behind you. you gazed up at him. the face of your best friend, the one who knew you better than anyone else. and after years of skirting around the issue, you finally found your words and asked him. and he looked you dumbfounded.
"you? me?" he said as he tried to process your words. you felt a tightness in your chest at the anxiety that was eating you up inside. you didn't know what to say or do.
"am i speaking french, lando? i want to have sex with you, it's about time we resolve this tension. it's been going on for over ten years." you said as you maintained eye contact with him. you felt a little bad for not being the most romantic.
it was hard for you to admit. your entire life you stood firm on the fact that men and women could be friends without any complications! and while you still felt that, you also found yourself with complicated feelings for lando. so, with all the bravery you could muster, you asked for sex.
he shifted from one foot to another, "i don't know how to respond... i mean i do. i just don't wanna sound like a pervert." he chuckled nervously and you only grew warmer in your face.
"do you want me, norris?"
he took his hands out of the pockets of his joggers and cupped his barely hidden erection. he gave you a gentle smile as he said, "i do. i do want you, you've been the subject of my fantasies for a long, long time." and started to take his shirt off.
you did the same, slowly revealing more skin to one another. you felt excitement race up you and you couldn't help yourself. you rubbed your thighs together and felt your pulse pick up.
"lando."
"i know, babe. i know." he chuckled as he got into bed with you. he got his boxers off before he was completely nude, his hands trailed across your body in a manner that left you excited all over.
if your friends knew what you two were doing tonight, hell even your own families, you knew that there would be exchanging high-fives and possibly money over bets made ages ago.
"may i?" he asked as he leaned in closer.
you leaned in to meet the distance and kissed him on the lips. soft as you imagined and his hands only held onto you in a way that made you shudder under him. you moaned into the kiss as he rubbed up against you.
"you tell me if anything goes wrong, okay? don't hide from me." he said, "one thing i hate when it comes to sex, no communication. i want to make my best friend feel good."
you looped your arms around his neck and pressed your chest against his, "i have a feel after tonight we're not going to be best friends."
lando replied, "well, you'll always be my best friend. you'll just also be my girlfriend." then winked before he went in for another kiss. it grew heated and his touches grew more bold.
you looked at him and he smiled down at you. he cupped your cheek while you held him close. it felt right to be this way, to be so close. you kissed him once more and he exhaled deeply against your lips. you two fit perfectly together, just as you always did.
"you want it raw?"
"yes."
"i'll pull out, alright? gotta play it a little safe." he kissed the apple of your cheek before you ended up on your stomach. he hiked you hips up letting your back curve as he pressed himself against you. now on his knees and his cock at full attention.
you looked amazing, beyond amazing. a certain type of beautiful that when lando sank into you wet cunt, he felt the race of excitement through his body. he held onto your hips and carefully inched himself into you. he moaned a little louder, the feeling was intense, there was nothing else he could compare it to you. you were unlike anyone else he had ever slept with. it was different because you two were so close, you shared everything. now you were sharing a night of heated passion.
he admired your backside as he rocked against you. his hand trailed down your back and he loomed over you. you felt amazing, you left a certain want in the back of his throat as he moved against you. lifelong friends, partners through and through. now lovers in bed together, moving together in a heated ecstasy. you both wanted each other, it was painfully obvious.
"you feel amazing." he said softly, "really amazing."
"glad i have a glowing review from lando norris." you chuckled lightly as you held onto the covers under you, your back arched a little more as he hit all the right spots, "can i put that on my tinder profile?"
he pushed you further down onto the bed by the shoulders and moved against you faster, "no way. because you're not going on tinder." he kissed the center of your back as he held you, "because you're my girl now. how does that sound? no more lackluster tinder dates and finally being with the guy you had a crush on for years." then laid another sweet kiss on your heated skin.
you felt the stimulation, your brain felt a little hazy. you moaned a little bit and tensed up for a moment. you panted, "fucking hell, lando. always a way with words." you looked over your shoulder at him as he thrusted against you, "got us into trouble and out of trouble over the words."
he gave you a wicked grin and replied, "oh yeah, and you love it," then pressed into you further. hands on your hips once more as he worked himself against you. the pleasure was zaps in his blood and the feeling was immense.
this was his best friend, and maybe years of pining left him feeling desperate for you. he spent years trying to find you in other people. turned out the whole time he just could have had you. and that made him feel a flutter of love in his chest.
"you feel amazing." he said softly, "better than i could ever imagine. you spoil me, honey." he chuckled lowly as he kissed the shell of your ear as he continued to move against you a little faster.
"fuck, lando." you exhaled deeply, paired with a soft whine as his cock hit against all the right areas. it felt good, better than you could imagine yourself. you knew a younger you would be blushing at the idea that you finally got with lando. having sex in a spacious hotel room and letting him just have his way with you. you fit together quite well, it didn't hurt that you were soaked in the process.
achy for sex. achy for him. you were needy for the sexual pleasure between the two of you. like two magnets drawn together no matter the distance. you were his best friend, and now his lover. his girl.
you moaned a little louder as the pleasure started to reach its peak inside of you. you held onto the covers under you and arched your back a little further. you cursed into the covers and the sight of you was beautiful. to come completely apart under his touch.
"beautiful." he said softly.
"fuck, lando." you shuddered and was met with a hard pat on your behind. the feeling of his hands on you, "you better fucking pull out or i'm gonna kill you."
"of course, of course.' he cooed, "save the kids for after marriage." his tone was cheeky and your pussy clenched around him. he chuckled and leaned up against your ear, "cute." and you whined.
his quickened his pace and he felt the hunger for you in his core. he couldn't believe it. part of him believed that he got hit in the head on the track and this was a fantasy of his. but, hey, if he was currently in the hospital with a goose egg on his head from being hit and this was what his rattled brain could come up with. then who was he to deny it. especially when you felt so good under him.
you tensed up around him once more and gasped against the covers. your eyes squeezed shut as you let out such a sweet moan. you shuddered as you felt yourself reach your orgasm, "fuck." even swears sounded heavenly on your lips.
he remembered trading pokemon cards with you, the time you watched him kart and cheered the loudest out of everyone. the times together, the totally platonic sleepovers. everything, fuck. to have you now, not as a friend but as a lover. that was everything to him.
you climaxed and it only pushed lando further. he pushed right up into you and made you near scream from the sensation. you two moved against each other roughly. but lando had to keep a sense of control or else he was going to finish inside of you.
"that's it. baby, that's it. fucking perfect for me.' his voice heavy with lust and it made your head throb. your cursed into the covers and lando fucked you harder, "next time i'm gonna make you finish twice. burn out your brain." he kissed your cheek, "perfect girl deserves all the orgasms she wants."
"flirt." you whined, face shoved into the covers, which only made lando laugh.
"glad you finally picked up on it, after fifteen years as friends." he thrusted into you a few more times before he pulled himself out and rapidly jerked off his cock against your back. it wasn't the same as the what of your cunt, but it would have to do. his pants were heavy as he said, "that's it, baby. fuck, look at you. you have driven me crazy my entire life. no one else can compare to you."
you laid there panting, your core swamped with wetness and your back curved to let him paint your back with his cum. you whined when you felt the splash of his cum against your backside.
"fuck." his voice was guttural, his breathing heavy and his eyes near rolled back into his head as he came across your hot skin. he felt sparks in his brain and could barely form a coherent thought as he came.
when it was all said and done, he rested fully on his heels, his cock limp between his legs. he rubbed his eyes with the heels of his hands and exhaled deeply.
you laid there, not wanting to get cum all over the sheets. as the temperature in the room cooled, you lifted your head a little and said, "lando... can you help me clean up?"
and your best friend turned lover woke back up from his sexual trance and said, "oh, of course! yeah!" then quickly went to find a towel in the bathroom.
you knew you'd had to have a conversation about what you were now. but with butterflies in your stomach you knew you wouldn't be walking out of your hotel room without a lando as your boyfriend <3

matt surprises angel for valentines day.
honestly no warnings besides fluff, smoking, and cursing. happy vday everybody! :) angst at the end, i'm sorry it's dirtbag!matt if u don’t wanna read the plot twist dont read the last sentence
matt was never one for valentines day. you were though. he's spent a couple valentines with a couple girls over the years, but never once bought something for them, other than just a good fuck.
he felt different for you, though. he knew you absolutely adored valentines day. all the pink, the hearts, the love in the air. he wanted to make you feel good, and not just with his dick. he wanted to see you happy.
he still denies having feelings for you.
when he told chris and nick his surprise for you, they couldn't even fathom thinking matt could be this nice, especially for someone he's know for 4 months, max. but they weren't complaining, and they knew you would love it.
this day has been hell for you. you wanted to be happy with valentines day, but your school work was piling with reviews for finals soon, and your job booked you a double shift, which made you confused because it was a library, and you didn't really expect anyone to come on valentines day. you were wrong.
it was around 6:30 that matt had texted you that he was picking you up from work after you mentioned to him earlier that you were working a double. luckily for him, it gave him extra time to set up and to do whatever he needed to do.
he texted you that he was outside, and you clocked out at 6:45. he was waiting outside on the curb, leaning on the passenger side with a blunt in his hand. when the doors opened, he looked over and smiled a bit. "hey, baby." he walked over, wrapping his arms around you, kissing the top of your head.
you didn't say anything, just hummed and wrapped your arms around his body. you inhaled his warmth, and his scent of weed and his cologne that you absolutely loved. he noticed your quietness and leaned his head down, kissing your cheek. "y'tired angel?" he asked softly in your ear.
you nodded, pushing your head deeper into his hoodie. "cmon. let's get you in the car, you're freezin'." he pulled away from the hug, but wrapping his arm across your shoulders as he walked you to his car. he opened the passenger side door, gently putting you in.
he got into the car, and started it, and giving you the blunt in his hand, which you happily accepted. "i got a surprise for you, angel. for valentines." your tired self looked up at him as your face lightened almost immediately. "really?" you said happily.
he nodded, smirking. "y'gonna love it. y'can go to sleep. i'll wake you when we get there." he rubs your thigh a bit, before squeezing it and turning on the seat heater for you, just like you like it.
you nod, handing the blunt back to him before leaning your head on the window, immediately letting sleep overcome you. about 15 minutes later, you wake up slightly to kisses on your hand.
your eyes flutter open, but a hand is covering your eyes. "are y'awake baby?" you nod a bit. "okay, i'm covering y'eyes because we're here. i want you to keep your eyes closed and i'll help you get out of the car, okay?" he says softly before kissing your hand again.
you nod again. "promise." he takes his hand off your eyes, and just like you promised, you kept your eyes closed. you heard his door open and quickly run to your side, opening your door now. he grabbed your hand, still making sure your eyes were closed, as he went behind you, pushing your back against his chest as his hand once again makes its way to your eyes. he begins walking slowly and then stops.
he takes his hand off your eyes. "don't open them yet. i need you to know i've never done this for any girl before, or anyone actually. i know i'm a bitch sometimes but y'the sweetest girl i know. chris 'n nick helped me with this. y'can open your eyes now." his speech came out a bit shaky, almost like he was nervous. you've never heard this tone from him before, but your heart fluttered.
you opened your eyes, the sun hitting them directly as the sun was setting. you let your vision become adjusted before actually looking at what was infront of you.
matt had brought you to your favorite spot in all of town, the spot matt had introduced to you, it was where the sun had set right behind the lake and forest, the view being perfect. he had set up a picnic with tons of bouquets of your favorite flowers.
your eyes filled with tears as you smiled big. you looked at matt, who was almost avoiding eye contact as he looked down and picked at his nails. "matt." you said, choked. he looked up at you before his face softened seeing your tears. "fuck- do you not like it? i knew it was cringy but-" "i love it, matt. thank you." you didn't let him get another word out before you hugged the boy, almost knocking the air out of his lungs.
he stood still for a bit, before relaxing into the hug, hugging you back softly. "really? y'like it?" you nod against his chest as he kisses your head before resting his chin on your head, rubbing your back. "cmon. enough cryin'." he says that, but makes no move to actually pull away.
after some time, you did pull away, sniffling. he looked down at your puffy face before he smiles, and you do too. "cmon, angel. let's go eat." he pulls your hand, bringing you to your pink blanket that you left at his house, resting on the grass. once you guys sat down, he thankfully brought his car up close enough to the blanket where you two would be able to lean back against the front, watching the sunset.
what you didn't know was the pics he had of the girl he saw right before he picked you up, in a pair of new lingere he had bought her in your favorite color.

Wolf in Sheep’s clothing is more than a Warning
Shoutout to my buddy @jesterinc without whom this wouldn’t have happened. Let’s all cheer for him for listening to my feverish rants, contributing a great deal of his own insight and adding fuel to this fire
It wasn’t difficult to get the injection with a stim off your ship and in the lab. All Price had to do was pull rank and say that it’s highly classified.
Coupled with lieutenant Riley’s heavy presence and “stop asking fucking questions and do your job” glare it did the trick.
So no, it wasn’t difficult to whisk away the miraculous thing that stitched you up in the matter of seconds and left you in a state John could only describe as “high on pain relief”.
Thank God, Laswell was more than inclined to keep it under the cover until they have any substantial evidence or sufficient proof that something was very fucking wrong in Helldiver branch.
Took them a couple weeks to actually get the bloody lab reports and get through thick pages of terminology that made their blood run cold for more reasons than one.
Stims were highly addictive and devastating in consequences in long term usage.
They drained the resources of the body, they wore out heart’s ability to pump blood, they ate Helldivers alive, they made them dependent on the next dosage and were frequently used as regular energy supplements.
It was not right or safe to keep this information hidden so Price had Kate to call in every favour and get the report and their own letters as high up the chain of command as it was possible.
The more people would find out about it the better.
It was something that had to be loud and flashy, something that would be impossible to ignore.
And slowly, the wheels came in motion.
They were picking up speed with every higher up official that saw the reports and detailed brief sent over from base.
Summary which could have been only described as "we are killing our own soldiers".
And upon investigation that got rolled out another nerve-wracking fact came to life - there were no regulation for how exactly stims were made.
There were no protocols of distribution.
Which meant that every day Helldivers all across the board would get different varieties of the same drug.
With different side effects and different components.
Some made out of terminid remains, some engeneered with the information they brought off Chort Bay, some from picked up samples of Illuminati sector.
Commandment pushed for the whole branch of Helldiver's to be put under review until further notice.
No missions, no dives, no stims.
Taskforce 141 volunteered to be the ones to come to your ship with these news. So you wouldn’t hear it from someone else. So you wouldn’t piece together the timing of it all.
Partially because Laswell let them know that if they won't — someone else will.
And partially because no matter what was going on with your branch — they knew you.
You were a good soldier.
A decorated military officer with years of experience and dedication likes of which Price hasn't seen before.
You were good, you were smart and what mattered the most — you were a friend.
You were their first link with the Helldivers and you were kind enough to let them onto your ship and into your armoury and never have asked a single question about their arrival.
Perhaps, because you never provided a lot of answers yourself — always in the rush, always one leg already in the hellpod, always ready to dive down.
So, naturally, when Kate told them to be part of the internal investigation. Investigation specifically into your involvement, they didn’t spend too much time mulling it over.
Of course, they will take the job.
Better them than some pencil-pusher that wouldn’t know the price and value of diligent work you conducted.
Therefore, without much hassle they packed up and came back to your ship.
They will need to find out whether or not you (divers) were aware about consequences stims brought onto your ships.
Whether or not you participated in distribution and if there was anything else command needed to know about.
Anything at all.
Especially, if there were any Helldivers that were no longer able to continue their service due to the effects of stims.
Taskforce were carefully notified that if you as a current captain of notorious SAS “Whisper of Steel” were no longer able to continue in your current role — a thorough report was expected.
So they came back — tight-lipped and tense, bags of equipment in hands, explanations on the tips of their tongues.
Just to find you as calm as a soldier that was used to constant action can be out of said action.
You were sitting on the steps to the hellpods when they were dropped off — old journal in your hand, it's cover so beaten up it was a miracle the damn thing wasn't falling apart.
It was like nothing changed at all, your ship buzzing under their feet, stuff quietly chatting to each other, repairs being made in engineering wing.
Nothing out of ordinary.
You were still covered from head to toe — always ready to jump back into action at moment's notice.
The only part of you not covered were your hands — wide steady palms, deft fingers with a few crooked digits, skin wrapped in scars — jagged shrapnel cuts, splashes of old burns, pearly lines of skin tearing.
You didn’t pay much attention to occasional staring — too engrossed in your work, cataloguing newest supply arrivals, counting up how much more you’d need to order — pen spinning in your fingers.
Simon's eyes linger on ugly markings on some of your fingers — telltale signs of them being torn off and then stitched back on in time, before it was too late. That’s entirely too much pain for a single person, but who is he to judge.
Your nails are short and clean, cuticles darker from gun grease that never washes off fully.
But no signs of neurotic biting or picking of skin, no self-inflicted scratches, nothing to account for your supposed instability.
Or withdrawal symptoms.
Simon slots the knowledge for later, turning away from you.
It's rare to see even a sliver of your skin. Feels almost alien to see that much now.
A little reminder that you are a human just like them.
Simon sits himself down on opposing stairs, watching you out of the corner of his eye.
It's funny, he never thought that that's the way some (most) people feel about him.
So used to seeing armour and fabric covering every inch of skin at all times — the reminder of warm human flesh underneath feels almost uncomfortable.
How much does it take for a person to become something else? How long can you be a soldier before you turn into an archetype? A story.
Something intangible and ephemeral, ghost wearing human's body, memory of memory wrapped in flesh and greyish lines of nerves.
Not a person but a concept.
Part of the agenda, part of the myths, part of the story.
Simon watches you write crouched on the steps of the stairs, so human in the moment he feels like he doesn't know you at all.
Who are you under all that gear? Who are you with it?
His attention slides off you because Kyle as carefully as he can herds you away, pacing in front of you back and forth until you finish and get off the stairs with quiet groan.
His hand gets draped around your midriff which, they still can't get used to, is very much welcomed.
Because you grumble something, reluctantly melting into the embrace and allow him to lead you away, finally giving Simon space to work.
It’s not something he likes doing to you, especially considering how relaxed you seem — you don’t look nervous, you don’t look guilty or like you are trying to hide something.
But as much as Simon likes you and would like to believe what he sees, experience tells him that sometimes people are not who they seem to be.
So, the faster they check you out, the sooner you will be away from the scrutiny and spotlight of the command.
That’s what matters the most.
And with you finally leaving your perch on the stairs right next to control panel means he gestures to Soap to come in and start shifting through files.
They finally get to slip through the cracks and dig up whatever you could have buried.
No matter how deep it is.
Price doesn’t come to meet up with Simon until the evening, too focused on your state and the way you stall under Kyle’s touch before relaxing when you realise it’s just him.
Like you need conscious effort to remind yourself that he is safe.
That they are safe.
Building up trust takes time and effort and John would like nothing more than to stay in this slow warm state with you gradually letting them in.
But he has never compromised in the matters of health and livelihood of his man. He’s not about to make you an exception out of his rule.
But Simon doesn’t find anything.
Neither does Soap.
There is nothing — no personal mementos, no diaries, no letters or email.
There is nothing, it’s like you-person has never existed.
Like there is nothing to you other than Helldiver-you. Other than soldier-you.
Which should be a relief but the gnawing feeling doesn’t let John to just let it go and report you as another Helldiver perfectly loyal to their duty.
Now it was not a matter of work ethics even, it was a matter of bone deep need to know you.
Everyone has something that makes them tick, that makes them them, that gives an inch he could hook onto to pull out the rest of your soft innards out of the hard shell.
There has to be something.
And something they found. Kyle does.
And not exactly finds.
There is a flash drive — angular little thing, old metallic case of which is covered in tiny scratches. Like it spent one too many years in someone’s pocket with all kinds of things.
Kyle pulls it out of your breast pocket, right under the heart, when you start dozing off.
Shame churning in his gut at that, because that’s low.
That’s not fair.
If you ever find out he might never come back from it.
The flash drive in front of them feels like a point of no return. Like stepping over some invisible line in the sand. Like pushing too hard into somewhere they were not invited to.
Johnny doesn’t like it. Johnny doesn’t like sneaking around in your personal things and he can see that neither does usually calm Simon.
None of them does, it’s written on everyone’s faces.
In a way small muscle in John’s jaw twitches with tension, in a way Soap rolls his shoulders as if hoping to shake off whatever sticky feeling he’s got from looking somewhere this deep — from sneaking around to find if you are hiding something.
Heavy hover of Simon’s brows doesn’t encourage Price either. None of them likes it. None of them feels like it’s the right thing to do.
All of them know it’s the necessary one.
“Doesn’t mean we will report everything that can be on it. We looked the other way before, we could do it again”, Simon hums out and it’s so sudden, but Kyle glances at him sideways and turns to captain to give him a tight nod.
It’s their job to work in the grey, is it not?
“But we have to see what’s on it, right? Just for…protection, aye?”, Soap still sounds as unsure as he can get but he actually takes the flash drive now and doesn’t watch it like something that could bite him if he’s not careful.
“Aye”, John just nods, crossing his arms over the chest and nods at Soap’s laptop. “Open it up, let’s see what’s in on it”.
There is no way you will give them all the answers willingly.
Which is weak excuse at best but the more solid one is that they can’t afford to tip you off if you do have something to hide.
Soap spends the next few hours trying to get into whatever encrypted data you have there.
Which admittedly is not what they have expected.
There is a strange type of encryption on them, Johnny shares, eyes glued to the screen as he waits for everything to upload.
Very different from what they usually see on protected data — not meant to destroy everything on the flesh drive as soon as it’s opened.
The code was specifically designed to preserve it.
Was it some kind of valuable intel you never passed on? Were these some kind of records you never got rid off?
About something or someone.
But there is nothing of sorts when Soap manages to crack it open.
On the flesh drive there’s nothing other than audiologs — hundreds of hours of audios, dozens and dozens of half-scraped recordings.
Terabytes of them.
It doesn’t make much sense on the first glance. It makes even less when they start listening.
They don’t know the appropriate order and it looks like a lot of dates has been scraped off the logs.
Frantically, feverishly, like someone without much technical expertise was rummaging through it, wiping off any trace of when and where it happened.
They click through few trying to grasp what is going on there only to find the unexpected.
It’s an entire year of audiologs that just get longer and more detailed the longer they keep going.
There is recorded music in horrible quality, there’s singing — a little off tune and a little hoarse — voice of someone not used to using it this much, but the melody is steady and excitement is palpable.
They don’t recognise the voice. Not at first.
Though whoever is singing they were having the time of their life. They were elated to share.
There’s also obviously male voice — strangely mechanical in its range, almost blank, completely level.
It reminds 141 of butchered quality of dynamics some Helldiver’s comms have. Like someone smashed it before using.
The sound is a little distorted, static flaring up when Soap tries to speed it up so they resign to just listening through the whole thing.
God knows these logs have seen better days.
But there is a lot of what they never expected to find.
There are jokes — old puns and dark humour and laughter, god, there is so much laughter.
It echoes through conversations, it cracks through years to the TaskForce listening with baited breaths.
It’s a beautiful laughter.
They don’t realise at first whose laughter it is. Whose singing it was.
They have never heard you laugh before.
You sound so young there. You sound so human.
Such a stark contrast to the person they came to know you as.
Older you is closed off, older you is guarded and twitchy — silent more often than not, feral animal aching for warmth and terrified of feeling any.
Marks of phantom old collar chuffing the skin of your neck until it breaks. Until you break.
What have been done to you? What happened?
There are million questions swirling through John’s head as he listens, brows furrowing when static flares up once again.
There is nothing wrong with recordings per se. Frankly speaking Price doesn’t see the reason to continue listening, especially since he can see how uncomfortable his team is with going through something so personal to you.
Something that obviously meant enough that you were carrying it with you whenever you went.
But there’s a nagging feeling that doesn’t leave John alone. Like they are missing something.
Helldivers are still soldiers — they are not forbidden from maintaining personal connections.
Why would someone (most likely you) try to scrape the flash drive so desperately? Why would you bother holding it as close to the body as possible?
Somewhere along these recordings there is answer to why you never come down on Chort Bay anymore. Somewhere along the audiologs they are going through there is a reason to why you do missions only in terminid sector.
There’s a question that doesn’t leave Price alone as he sits and listens through another dozen of butchered recordings.
Who’s the person on the other end?
And why do you still have this flesh drive if you could have gotten rid of it long time ago? Would save you a lot of trouble considering how hard you tried to cover up tracks.
So Johnny scrolls through the logs until he finds first one actually dated.
March. Tuesday. 11:51. Six years ago.
“What did you want to be before?”, male voice cracks to life startling them after almost three minutes of radio silence, Simon’s fingers twitching to reach for the gun.
But it’s just a recording, no one is here but them and these butchered audio logs. “Surely…surely, you did not intend to be this. No child does”
There is a small pause before you answer.
As if you want to ask how can the other person know it.
As if you don’t know if you should tell that most children actually do.
Because being a Helldiver is an honour.
It seems like one, at least.
The ultimate sacrifice in the name of greater good.
Your bones might have a chance of being the base of someone’s throne, shouldn’t this be honour enough?
“Ballerina”, your response makes Price quirk a brow, leaning back in chair. That’s the first log without any static. The first one where they can hear you clearly.
Your answer is short, curter than what you’d give your companion before. It reeks of old vulnerability and almost shameful shyness.
Not in your nature to play coy and you apparently didn’t intend to make it seem like it was.
“Ballerina?”, metal creaking is more evident now, male’s voice grinding on their ears, faint whisper of his comms acting as a white noise.
Filling the air with hum none can make out and falling into the background.
It didn’t occur to you at the time that those like your companion have lifespans even shorter than Helldivers so.
That they are machines of war way more dedicated than any diver is.
That they probably don’t dance.
You tell yourself that it’s the only reason you continue talking about something that is no longer viable even as an old fever dream.
“Yeah, the dancer. Did you know they retire young?”, the tidbit of knowledge feels like an offering, like you are a child bringing your stick figured drawing for some approval.
Your voice goes a little higher — smile in your voice so wide, Soap can’t help but chuckle.
“Don’t you all retire young?”, the tone is so level, so perfectly polite that the question would sound innocent if not for undercurrent of teasing.
It leaves you gobsmacked for a moment.
Was that…did he just joke about fast mortality rate amongst Helldivers? He of all people?
Unbelievable.
There’s a pause before your laughter escapes the confines of your mouth — wheezing thin sound that grows into hoarse warm bark of laughter.
“That’s really dark, Sar”, finally a mention of a name forces Kyle to scribble it down as fast as he can. Finally something to hook onto. A bloody name.
“And yet you are laughing”, satisfaction in man’s voice is so obvious it practically drips off every syllable.
Unusually expressive from what they heard before.
Thick and sticky, filling up ears and coating skin.
Like oil.
The recording clicks off and the room falls silent for a few moments with them simply staring at the screen.
There is uneasy feeling in John’s chest, like they are getting closer.
He’s not sure if he wants to keep going.
At this point it would be okay to close investigation on you, to clear you in eyes of the command.
But Soap scrolls down, clicking on the next dated recording without Price stopping him.
It dates almost eight months after the one they just listened to. Johnny clicks “play” and sits back ready to listen, cold slowly filling his fingertips.
What would be worse now — to find something or not find anything at all?
How much is too much as a price for your broken trust?
Your voice rings out of the speakers, too quiet for them to hear and they have to adjust the sound before continuing.
Your voice is tired hoarse thing when you breathe out “what a wicked thing it is. To dream of you. To dream of what I can never have and should have never wanted” and it makes something inside of Gaz ache for you. Why would you say that?
Was the price of being a Helldiver really this steep?
You sound so small on the record, so broken — exhaustion wrapping its heavy arms around your shoulders and pressing down hard.
“I wish it wasn’t like that.”, you finally say after a moment’s silence.
Male voice they already got used to hearing is almost soft when it responds to you — gentle purr of automatic vocal cords, not yet honed timbre of a person still learning to love.
“I know.”, John doesn’t know what he expected but it isn’t this. There is a strange finality to these words.
A quiet intimate kind of resignation he saw in soldiers that knew they are not coming back.
“I can’t do this, Sar”, your voice waivers — wet and cracking and Kyle turns away, leaning heavily on the back of the chair, shoulders slumped down.
This is more difficult than he thought it would be.
You sound defeated.
He has never heard you sound like that before. He now knows he never wants to hear you like that ever again.
“I know”, the gentle acceptance of someone who they ever saw feels wrong in the moment.
Feels like they are still fucking missing something.
A clue that has been looking them in the face all this time.
But with the way you are coming apart at the seams…Ghost doesn’t know how anything but tenderness could be possible.
Stubborn beautiful captain, has no one ever treated you with kindness you deserved?
Has no one but this…whoever that is handled you with proper care?
Did he even handle you with it?
“I…this can never end well”, you got quieter with every word and John has to take a breath because he is aching for you.
Younger you, softer you, bruised you.
Soldier so young you grasped for any straw of support. Soldier so lonely you apparently fell into hands of someone you shouldn’t have.
“Does it really matter?”, the question is so soft John feels like raging, like dismantling the whole fucking branch, like cradling you in his hands and holding tight because the sharp inhale he hears cuts deep.
There is a long pause before you finally answer, familiar clicking of the clip of your gun holster a little too loud.
“No. No, it doesn’t”
Audio ends on that — no usual goodbyes or jokes exchanged. No banter, no witty remarks.
Almost like you can’t do that. Almost like a little more and the rags of you are going to be torn apart.
Too worn-out, too thinly spread.
Oh, dear god, Captain. What have you done?
They take a break so Simon can properly search the databases for any soldier named or call signed “Sar”, any trace of the other person in these audiologs.
There’s an eerie feeling that doesn’t leave John, the same one he can see in occasional fidgeting of his men.
Something happened to these logs — parts of conversations scraped, the sound butchered, the encryption so robust Soap could hardly get through it.
Maybe once it was a happy memento, a treasure you kept close to your heart.
But it was this for younger you — the one who laughed and sang and admitted childish dreams sitting somewhere on the empty battlefield.
Now, in its ravaged state it was no longer what it was before.
It was a reminder.
An ominous one at that.
The kind people tried to brainstorm for radioactive burials so whoever comes across them in the distant future would know that haunted stones of black obelisks meant “stay away”.
John sits in the corner fiddling with a pen, clicking it again and again, gears turning in his head.
The male voice on the recordings — it sounded too rough for a Helldiver, too static-y even when your own sounded clearly.
The voice way too unnatural.
Like the person it belonged to was still learning how to use it.
Like he was mimicking speech patterns.
John comes back to listening through the dozen more broken records until Simon comes back tight-jawed and dark as death.
Finally with an answer.
There is ice slowly spreading in their veins — jaws clenched so hard it’s painful.
But pain is nothing. All of it is nothing.
Because he finally knows why you were guarding the flesh drive.
Why there is no soldier named “Sar”.
There has never been one.
“Sar” is not a name, but a nickname you gave your companion during your talks. “Sar” is short for “Comissar”.
You were communicating with autobot commander.
You were committing treason.
There’s another recording. The last one. Still completely intact.
Soap presses the key so hard it’s a miracle it doesn’t fall off.
This time there is no introduction, no greetings. There is only one voice.
The Autobot’s.
“Super Earth’s scum likes to portray us as unfeeling. Machines of pointless bloody war.”, he starts, voice as level as they get, eerie mechanical undertones of too static speech seeping through.
Sar…Comissar pauses before continuing, his voice getting so much softer it’s uncanny.
So soft John feels like grinding his teeth into nothing. Fucking hell, the autobot had no business sounding like that.
“But god, I swear, I could feel the sunlight shine on my face when you’d come down to me.”, there is a wistful component to his voice, one Simon doesn’t fucking like at all.
“I could feel the wind. I could taste the sea.”
“I could taste you.”, the implication leaves Kyle with dread raising its heavy head in his gut, eyes so wide it hurts. He can’t blink and he can’t turn away and he can’t stop listening.
They need to finish.
“We often think Helldivers to be soldiers of the guile — merciless and casually cruel, you plunge feet first into hell from a hell of your own straight above our heads — harbingers of death.”, is said almost conversationally, like it’s another fact. Another thing he probably had to get over.
“But I could have sworn you were an angel.”, there is reverence in the voice of the bloody machine the likes of which Soap hasn’t heard before. The absolute, almost biblical, devotion. Borderline an obsession.
“My angel”, the emphasis is not lost to them.
“My loveliest doom.”
“You were sent down to hunt and destroy my kind, to turn to ash my army, to bring ruin and despair.”, there is a small pause before the man continues.
His voice as tender as they could get, so eerily soft that Soap barely contained the urge to turn it off.
To stop listening.
But they need to finish it, so he just steps back from the laptop, turning his head away, the automatic voice gnarling on his nerves.
“But you brought me peace. You brought warmth.”, there is wonder in Comissar’s voice, quiet excitement of someone who long gave up and accepted the way things are.
“You brought laughter and songs and dreams.”, he says like this was everything. Like it is everything. More than he could have ever hoped for. More than he, perhaps, deserved.
“How strange it is, my love, to be machine deemed incapable of human emotions but still feel.
How strange it is that you — the perfect lovely you — made me so human I can barely recognise myself.”, he stalls for a moment before chuckling — sound cool and gentle, his cords still a little rusty.
“Maybe that’s another ploy of your branch. Maybe Helldivers finally found the way to our absolute ruin.
But oh, what a sweet way to go.
I couldn’t wish for a different one. I wouldn’t have.
Know that no matter what happens next — I have always been devoted to you.”, John’s hand hovers above the keyboard, urge to turn off the bloody recording so strong he almost does it.
“The last time we saw each other you said that it won’t end well. And I won’t lie to you — it won’t.”, the autobot shifts, metal creaking with its every movement, comms whispering in a language they cannot understand.
“I know that they will come for my fortress. I know they will win — my head will be the prime trophy of this campaign.”, the man says and it feels a lot like a goodbye. Like this is it. The end of the road.
“I know it’s not your fault.”, notion kicks the breath out of Simon because despite the revulsion and anger, there is so much gentle acceptance in Comissar’s voice it makes his skin crawl.
“We are not bad people, my love. Just very unlucky ones.
I can only hope that the next time we meet will be better.
I hope next time you won’t have to choose between duty and your humanity.
I hope when we meet next time you will forgive me for making this choice for you.”, John’s eyes flicker to Simon’s who’s already trying to get reports of what fucking happened back then. Someone should be able to share at least a crumb of information.
“Goodbye, my angel. Remember that down on Chort Bay even the rusted remains of my skeleton will love you.
And please,
Don’t ever come back.”
There’s a heavy silence when they record clicks off, finishing the playing of it.
“What the fuck happened on Chort Bay?”, Price doesn’t recognise the hoarse rasp for his voice until Simon doesn’t give him a glass of water, brown eyes dark with something John isn’t sure he understands.
“War torn. The battles are ongoing as of right now but at the time of the recording…”, Simon glances down on the report on his laptop before turning back to his captain. “…Helldiver forces took Chort Bay back — effectively eradicating everything in their way”.
Which means that no one survived.
The “Sar” perished with the resistance leaving you only that — the flash drive with all of your conversations. Perhaps hoping (if robots can hope) that you would understand.
Price thinks to the quiet fractured way you carry yourself and wonders if you ever did.
They need to know what to do now. How to proceed. Because fraternising with the enemy…it’s going to be punishable by an execution. If anyone finds out about their discovery you are going down.
You won’t be just dishonourably discharged — you will be shot dead.
Price rubs his palms over his eyes, heels of them pressing onto his eyeballs because god, how did you even get into this kind of mess? Why would you even hold onto incriminating piece of evidence?
He knows why, god, of course he knows. He listened through remaining conversations and heard your laughter and heard your shy confessions.
(John tries not to think that he had no right to them. That these recordings were not his to listen to, he has no claim over them — they aren’t for him)
They decide to come clean the next day. Maybe figure out how to proceed from then on, what to write. How to save you from yourself, if needed.
But all plans go down the drain when the next morning you are antsy and fidgety, eyes roaming over the ship in frantic search. You already noticed your flash drive gone.
Johnny tries to carefully start the conversation, explaining why they came back, what was the purpose of it.
He feels bile rise in his throat at the look on your face when you see your audiologs in his palm.
When you hear that they listened to them.
Kyle steps in, voice gentle as he tries to explain that they didn’t want to, that it’s just vetting process, that they won’t tell anyone what they found.
He also says that you must have had your reasons, but keeping such thing this close was reckless and wrong and—
But then you snatch the flash drive out of Soap’s hand, eyes wide with something he doesn’t like, clutching the thing like it’s a treasured.
Your treasure.
These conversations — hundreds of hours of conversations with a mechanical voice, tenderness of which seeps through every sound. Very syllable.
Mad, wrong and forbidden.
This should have never happened. It would have never happened if Helldivers were treated more humanely, Price thinks.
It would have never happened if you had proper protocols and socialisation and support in place.
What kind of madness is it, to fall in love with a fucking piece of steel? An enemy no less.
It is wrong, it is mad, it is everything you were never supposed to do. As a soldier, as a Helldiver.
It’s not just a mistake. It’s treason.
You would be executed without martial court, without right to appeal. You are a traitor.
“Captain?”, there’s heavy silence in the armoury, stares on you almost accusatory and you hate it you hate it you hate it.
They don’t know you, they don’t know what it’s like.
They don’t understand. They probably never will.
So you don’t say anything.
You stuff the flesh drive into the breast pocket under armoured plates of your vest, not looking them in the eye, not willing to give them any more than they already took.
“Captain, you- have you ever returned to the automaton sector?”, Simon’s question is carefully worded and it is not the best time to ask whether or not you killed autobots after having an affair with one.
It’s not fair to you and he knows it.
But the situation itself isn’t fair.
Neither are you with your heavy silences and your high walls and your stubborn glares.
“No.”, the answer is as short as they get, your thumb pressing into the sharp side of the metal case, trying to take your mind out of a spiral by any means necessary.
You never came back to Chort Bay. You never came back to autobot sector after coming down to collect the last message from Sar. One mission before you realised you couldn’t do it. You just couldn’t.
Robots were too human afterwards.
Even worse, you were too human — finger always stalling when it came to shooting other autobots.
Other’s like Sar.
Maybe in some deeper level you were still waiting for him to come back, to meet you with the flesh drive like he usually did. Maybe on some deeper level you were hoping for him to find another way.
Maybe you grew soft.
(Helldivers can’t be soft. Helldivers are never soft. Not if they want to survive)
“What does it say about me that I didn’t die with him and kept living?”, you don’t even realise you said it out loud until you look at Kyle and see that his face is grey with horror. He makes a step towards you, something pained in his eyes raising when you twitch away.
He’s spent his trust. It doesn’t take a mind reader to realise who took your flesh drive. It doesn’t take a psychic to figure out that he stole it.
But really, what does it say about you if you are still going though you admitted to Sar once that you probably wouldn’t be able to if something was to happen to him.
You kept living when maybe you shouldn’t have. You kept living like nothing ever happened, like you didn’t lose a part of you — a good part, a decent part, a humane part.
“Capt’n, please…”, there’s anguish in Price’s voice, his eyes — prettiest summer sky — looking at you the same way one would look at animal they ran over. Pity.
There is hot licks of fury in your chest, spreading like a wildfire, scorching you from inside out, cauterising the bleeding heart of yours.
How fucking dare he. How dare they scoop out everything that was left of the good you and watch it with morbid fascination like it was some suffering creature with broken spine.
How dare they even look like they feel sorry for you when there’s nothing to feel sorry about?
“This- look around”, there’s manic desperate chuckle, crack in his voice the size of one in your chest. “This isn’t livin’, capt’n. You are not livin’. You are survivin’. And all for a machine that-”
Maybe you would have listened before to him, but John Price steps on the landmine the size of Jupiter and you snap. Snarling, feral creature — kicked dog whose tail got caught in the closing doors — your eyes stinging, armour clicking in place all around you.
“He has a name.”, you snarl with such viciousness that John blinks in surprise, taken aback by your reaction. “And you don’t know him.”
“For fuck’s sake, capt’n, it’s not a name.”, Price snaps in return, stepping closer to you, eyes blazing, shoulders squaring and it’s almost laughable because what the fuck is he going to do? Wrestle you to the floor of your own ship? “You gave him a nickname. He never had a name. He’s not an actual person-“
Maybe it would have been better if he tried to fight you. At least that way you’d have a good excuse to land a few punches on him. At least that way you wouldn’t feel like someone backhanded you across the face — skin tingling with heat, beast in your chest uncurling into something dangerous.
How dare he talk like he knows what’s been going on? How fucking dare he speak of your friend, of your Sar, like he has been some fucking pet?
The silence is dark and heavy between you two, fire raging so loudly in your head you hardly hear Simon stepping in.
It hardly registers until he mentions something about stims and “withdrawal induced agitation” and your head snaps to him so fast he actually steps back.
You’ll admit it takes you a few moments to piece it all together. The investigation, the secrecy, the tension.
The last conversation that you had with Price.
Your fury builds up into the whole storm, your face so hot it hurts, you are so hot it’s sticky and sweaty, your uniform clinging to your body.
(Blood in the threads of it-blood in the threads of it-blood in the threads of it)
“You stole from me”, the first exhale is pure disbelief before the last bits of you snap like a dry twig and you practically lunge at Price, fingers wrapping around his shoulder with the force enough to break it. “I let you in and you stole from me.”, your anger is deaf and blind. Your anger is powerful.
Your pain isn’t.
You don’t expect it but it still hurts because you let them see so much, you thought they were safe, you thought they were friends.
Rookie mistake. You won’t repeat it again. Never again.
Hurt just amplifies your anger, revulsion flaring up when Soap reaches for you. Usually warm hand trying to soothe, trying to calm down.
But you can’t do this. You can’t-you cant-you can’t.
You think of Kyle waiting for you to fall asleep to take your flesh drive and bile rises to your throat.
You think of Price stealing your stim, of Simon going through your things and talking about your anger like it’s a fucking symptom.
You think of them and you want to crawl out of your skin.
The loud slap of your hand against Johnny, smacking him away clicks something in the team, the whole TaskForce coming into action.
Pulling them into the formation, pulling out soldiers and not friends.
For some reason it hurts even more.
“Captain, you have to calm down.”, there is an edge to Ghost’s voice and you just sneer in response, his changed attitude doing nothing but agitate you further.
Kyle watches you like he’s expecting you to snap. They all do, you realise.
“Get out.”, your voice is alien even to you, your body uncurling to its full frame, fury — now cold and merciless flooding your veins. “Get your things and get the fuck off my ship. Now.”
Simon opens his mouth to say something but you snap before a single word leaves his lips.
“Get out of I will personally drag you off my fucking bird, lieutenant.”, you hiss his rank out and it’s so wounded you almost cringe. Fucking hell, you are getting soft.
But still it works. He pulls back and turns away.
You don’t wait to see whether or not they have something else to say. You want nothing to do with them.
You want them out.
You want to hate them but instead you are just hurt and furious.
It’s a solemn ride back home. A quiet and heavy one, all of them feeling the effect of your fury still.
Simon looks at John and John finally understands. There is no other choice. Not now. Not anymore.
Upon return Price sits in his office for a few very long hours before he finally gets to writing the report command requested on you.
He has never compromised on his soldiers’ wellbeing and he won’t start now.
Even if he will need to drag you thrashing and kicking with a force of a damn bull.
Report gets sealed and so does your fate when he sends it out.
Report written black on white, his full name and rank, date and location.
Report doesn’t name you a traitor but Price knows you will hate them nonetheless.
Report says “recommend immediate transfer. Not suitable for active space duty. Not able to continue in their current responsibilities. Recommendation to discharge Helldiver captain of SAS “Whisper of steel” effective immediately”.

SUMMARY: Rafe Cameron doesn’t do romance—until after that wild night at the party, when he starts showing up at your door with flowers. No words, just a smirk and a bouquet. It’s probably just a joke... or is it?
wc: 3,4k (I got carried away 😛)
WARNINGS: some angst, mainly fluff, (idk what else to add lmk)

Y/N was curled up on her couch, overwhelmed with the strenuous college work that she had to turn in till next week. It was quiet on Figure 8, The afternoon sunlight filtered through the window, casting a soft glow across the room. The stress inside of her was slowly building up while cautiously reading through her essay, making sure not to make one single mistake. She was a straight A student after all, and the only thing that mattered to her was having perfect grades. Meanwhile her friends were going out, partying, drinking, living their best lives, she was bed rotting and freaking out about her future, it was stupid really.
suddenly, she heard her phone ring and when she saw that it was her best friend Lila, she couldn't of have been happier. Immediately she picks up the phone:
L: "hey girlll, how are you?"
Y/N: "hey Lil, I'm finishing up my assignment, as always, ugh im literally about to pass out."
L: "okayyy perfect then, I have the perfect solution for you, you're coming to Rafe Camerons party today at 8. You seriously need to loosen up."
Y/N: "wait- what? Lil, you know I can-"
L: cya there!
*the phone Hangs up*
"Fuck...." you mumble to yourself and let out a sigh. But on the other hand, maybe listening to Lila and forgetting about school wouldn't be so bad at all? I mean, as long as you don't get wasted what could go wrong? Time passes and you get up to fancy yourself up. It feels so stupid to you, but on the other side you've never been to a party before and a feeling of excitement rushes through you. Therefore you do a full face of soft glam makeup, touching it up with a rosey pink color of gloss and curl your hair. The last touch was the outfit, for which you had decided to go with a pretty dark blue evening gown and a pair of louboutin heels. If you were being honest, this was the prettiest you've felt in a long time. It felt relieving to feel comfortable and beautiful in your own body again. You leave your house and start walking to Tannyhill. Once you get to your destination, you see a large crowd of people in front of the Cameron household. You step into the house, and boom—music shaking the walls, bodies everywhere, air thick with booze and something fruity. Before you can even process, Lila spots you.
“GIRL, FINALLY!” she stumbles over, nearly spilling her drink. “I was ’boutta send a damn search party. By the way you look JAW DROPPING”
“Thank you but you texted me two minutes ago.”
“And that was two minutes of suffering,” she says dramatically, shoving a cup into your hand. “Now drink.”
You sniff it. “What the hell is this?”
“Who cares? It’s alcohol.”
You take a sip—mistake. “Bro, are you tryna poison me?”
she cackles. “Lightweight. C’mon, we need shots.”
Fast forward—you're both gone.
You’re clinging to each other, half-dancing, half-tripping, screaming the wrong lyrics to some song. Your head spins, but in a fun way.The room spins. The lights blur into streaks of neon, and the bass vibrates through your chest like it's syncing with your heartbeat. You don’t know how long it’s been—minutes? Hours? Your head is heavy, your legs unsteady, and suddenly, Lila is gone. Panic flickers through the haze of alcohol. You push through the crowd, bumping into sweaty bodies, murmuring half-apologies. Your vision tunnels, and the edges of the world start to fade. Shit. You need air. You need to sit. Stumbling toward the wall, you brace yourself, blinking hard to clear your vision. The party keeps moving around you—people laughing, dancing, making out in dark corners—but it all feels distant, like you're underwater. But even through your fucked up vision and fuzzy head, you see and feel someone eyeing you down.
And then you see him.
Rafe Cameron.
He’s across the room, leaning against the counter, drink in hand, watching you. Not just looking—watching. His sharp blue eyes flicker under the dim lights, unreadable, intense. Your pulse stutters. Whether it's from the alcohol or the way he tilts his head slightly, like he’s debating something, you’re not sure. All you know is that everything else—the noise, the people, the chaos—fades into the background.
It’s just you and him.
Your legs give out before you can take another step. The world tilts violently, and the last thing you feel is the cold floor meeting your body. Distantly, voices blur together, someone laughs, music pulses through your skull. Then—warm hands. Strong arms wrapping around you before you hit the ground completely. The scent of cologne, sharp and clean, cuts through the alcohol haze clouding your brain. “Shit.” A deep voice, close. Your head lolls against something firm—a chest? A shoulder? You can barely process it, everything slipping in and out of consciousness like a bad dream. “Yo, is she good?” someone asks. “She’s fine,” the voice responds, low and controlled. “I got her.”
Then you’re moving. Lifted effortlessly, arms hooked under your legs and back. The warmth is grounding, but your mind is too fogged to fight it, to even think about what’s happening. Cool air kisses your burning skin as you’re carried outside. The music muffles behind closed doors, replaced by the sound of steady footsteps, the distant hum of crickets.
You try to mumble something, but it comes out as a slurred mess.
“Relax,” the voice says. “You’re safe.”
Safe. The word wraps around you, pulling you further into the darkness.
The first thing you notice is the warmth. Not just from the hoodie wrapped around you, but from the air itself—quieter, softer than the freezing night outside. The second thing is the scent—clean linen, expensive cologne, a faint trace of cigarette smoke.
You’re not at the party anymore.
Your head is still spinning, but the pounding bass, the suffocating crowd, the overwhelming chaos—it’s all gone. Replaced by something calmer. Safer. Blinking hard, you push yourself up slightly, your body weak and heavy, and that’s when you see him.
Rafe Cameron.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, elbows resting on his knees, head tilted slightly like he’s been watching you this entire time. But not in the way people usually say he does. There’s no arrogance, no sharp amusement. Just something unreadable. Something almost… gentle. His blue eyes flicker over your face, scanning, assessing. “You good?” Your throat is dry, but you manage to croak, “Where—?”
“My place,” he says simply, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “You were out of it. I wasn’t about to leave you there.” The weight of those words settles in your chest. You were vulnerable—completely out of it—and instead of taking advantage, instead of leaving you behind, he brought you here. Safe. Taken care of.
You were confused, and on the other hand you were partially panicking, why would Rafe Cameron take you to his house?
“I—” You don’t even know what to say. Your hands clutch at the hoodie around you, only now realizing it’s his. The sleeves practically swallow your arms, the fabric drowning you in warmth. “You were shaking,” Rafe says like he’s reading your mind. “Figured you could use it.” Your stomach flips. Why is he like this?
You’ve heard the stories—Rafe Cameron is reckless. Selfish. Dangerous. But the guy sitting in front of you? He’s none of those things. Maybe it's just an illusion, maybe he just wants to get between your legs and leave you. He shifts, reaching for the glass of water on the nightstand, then holds it out to you. But when you try to grab it, your fingers tremble too much. You're unsure of wether you should trust him or not.
Rafe notices.
Without a word, he lifts the glass to your lips himself, his free hand cupping the back of your neck, steadying you. His touch is warm, careful, almost hesitant—like he’s afraid of hurting you. The moment stretches, something thick and heavy settling between you. When you finish, he pulls back just slightly, his thumb barely grazing your skin before he lets go. The loss of contact makes something tighten in your chest.
“You feeling okay now?” His voice is quieter now, softer.
You nod weakly. “Yeah… thanks.”
His lips press together, like he’s debating something. Then, finally, he sighs and runs a hand through his hair.
“I don't want you to go there anymore.”
Your breath catches. “I—what?” Rafe lets out a small, breathy chuckle, almost like he can’t believe himself either. “You just… you don't belong at parties.” He glances away for a second, then back at you.
Your heart drops, unsure what he means and you swear you could feel your face heat up in embarrassment.
Your fingers tighten around the hoodie still wrapped around you, and you finally whisper, “Why?”
Rafe holds your gaze for a long moment, the air between you thick, heavy with something neither of you know how to name. Finally, he reaches out, fingers barely grazing your cheek, his touch featherlight. It sends a shiver down your spine.
“Because it’s you,” he murmurs. He stares you down with a neutral face expression. The embarrassment lingers, twisting in your chest.
Parties aren’t for you.
Rafe’s words replay in your mind, making you feel small. You tug his hoodie tighter around you, avoiding his gaze. He sighs, grabbing his keys. “C’mon. I’ll take you home.” The drive is quiet until he finally speaks. “You think I meant that in a bad way.” You hesitate. “Didn’t you?” His grip on the wheel tightens. “No. I meant… you don’t need that shit. The fake smiles, drunk assholes, guys looking at you like—” He stops, jaw clenching. “Like you’re something to mess with.”
Your heart stumbles.
“I just—” He sighs. “It’s not you.” The weight in your chest shifts. Not gone, but lighter. When he pulls up to your house, he reaches out, tugging the hood over your head gently. His fingers graze your jaw, slow, careful. “Get inside safe,” he murmurs. You nod. “Thanks… for everything.” As you step out, you don’t look back.
But if you did, you’d see him still watching. Still waiting.
Two days pass, but you can’t shake the way Rafe looked at you that night. The softness in his voice, the weight in his eyes. Like he saw you differently. Like he wanted to say something but couldn’t.
You tell yourself it was nothing. That it was just a moment. That Rafe Cameron doesn’t do things like that.
But then— The doorbell rings.
When you open it, he’s there.
Standing on your porch, dressed in a dark hoodie and jeans, looking almost nervous. And in his hands—a bouquet. Not just any bouquet, but the kind that looks like it came straight from some overpriced florist. Deep red roses, white lilies, wrapped in a silk ribbon. Your breath catches.
“Uh…” You blink at him, words failing you. “Are you lost?” Rafe huffs a small, breathy laugh, shaking his head. “No.” He glances down at the flowers, then back up at you. “These are for you.”
You just stare. Because—what? After a beat, you slowly take them, fingers brushing his as you do. The petals are soft, the scent rich and overwhelming. “Rafe…”
“I know,” he cuts in, running a hand through his hair. “This is… not what you expected.” You nod, still too stunned to process. He exhales sharply, like he’s bracing himself. Then, finally—
“I haven’t stopped thinking about you.”
Your heart stutters. Rafe looks away for a second, like this is harder for him than it should be. When he speaks again, his voice is lower, rougher.
“That night? Seeing you like that? It fucked me up.” His blue eyes meet yours, and there’s nothing cocky in them. Just honesty. Raw and unfiltered. “I don’t know when it happened, but somewhere along the way, I started caring. And it scared the shit out of me.”
You swallow hard, your grip tightening around the flowers.
He takes a small step closer, voice dropping even lower. “But you looked at me like I was good that night. Like I was worth something.” He scoffs under his breath, shaking his head. “And I wanted to be that. For you.”
Your chest tightens, your pulse pounding. Rafe runs a hand over his face, exhaling sharply. “Look, I don’t do this shit. I don’t—” He gestures vaguely, like this is beyond him. “But I can’t not do this with you.”
Another step. Closer.
“So let me take you out. A real date.” His gaze softens, voice barely above a whisper now. “Let me prove I can be good for you.”
The world narrows to just him. His eyes, his voice, the plea hidden beneath it all.
And suddenly, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
Because this? This feels real.

eddie x fem!reader valentine’s day blurb, not proofread i fear. trying to get back into the writing groove!
———
eddie took everything about you in as you stood at your door entrance, your eyes bright and smile wide. one of his hands nervously gripped ahold of the flowers he bought you, the other fiddling with the zipper of his leather jacket he never parts with.
even after you let him inside and took the flowers to a vase, he was nervous. eddie had never spent valentine’s day with a girl, and he wanted so desperately to get things right. how absolutely gorgeous you looked wasn’t quite helping him contain it. you’d been in a relationship for 6 months, countless amounts of dates under your belts, and he was still so scared of doing things wrong.
it wasn’t hard to pick up on his nervousness. you saw the way he swayed nervously, his normally steady hands shaky. after gently cutting the stems of your flowers, you were just as gentle with him, walking towards him and enveloping his hands into yours. you gave him the sweetest smile.
“thank you honey,” you said lightly, not quite a whisper but still very warm. “they’re beautiful.”
eddie gave you a small smile, tugging you closer, hands moving to your waist. you couldn’t help but move his bangs away from his round eyes to get a better look. he cringed a little, and you were sure it was because he spent a long time making them look neat and put together. you’d love him just the same even if he came to pick you up with bed head.
“beautiful flowers for my beautiful girl,” eddie responded, fingers tracing your waist above your shirt. you started messing with the collar of his jacket, trying to distract yourself from the growing heat rising up your neck and to your face.
“we’re gonna go to that new restaurant across town you wanted to try.”
“you got us a seat there?” you questioned, eyes going wide. you heard it was difficult to get into on a normal day, let alone on valentine’s day. he nodded his head proudly.
“called in the moment you brought it up a month or two ago, wanted to make sure we had a table,” eddie smiled, almost bragging about himself. it earned him a tug on the jacket and a soft kiss on the lips, one he wanted to keep and savor forever.
he didn’t quite feel as nervous anymore.

Pile One 🎂~
/)/) ( . .) ( づ ♡
keywords/signs : allergies, sneezing, procrastination, daze, 3, garlic, cracking knuckles, waiting rooms, secret dates, laughing till your stomach hurts, pasta, cooking dates, car rides, engagements, new york, big families, ponds/bodies of water, loss for words, gifts, best friends to lovers, lack of communication, forgiveness
ꨄ ok i get the feeling that your relationship with your s/o is a wild adventurous one, fast paced yet a long drawn out one. perhaps some of you have been with them before “ officially ” getting together. or maybe an on again, off again situation. i got the sense that, someone, particularly your s/o being confused regarding their feelings. maybe it took them longer than they would like to admit, just how deeply they feel for you. but oh my pile one, they feel so much for you !
ꨄ they may play it cool on the outside, but on the inside… they are totally gushing over you. maybe for the first time in a long time you’ve brought out their inner child and they are just entirely giddy being with you. you definitely have been in their head for a long time, no matter what they do they think about you. they have definitely caught themselves thinking things like “ oh you would love this dress. ” or “ i can't wait to tell you about this. ”
ꨄ they truly admire your willpower and ambition. you just don't give up. it’s a quality they wish they saw more in themselves, i mean overall you definitely inspire them to be the best version of themselves. i get the feeling that some of you may be shifting to a fame DR, specifically one in which you are an actor. i sense that you and your s/o work in the same/similar career. I think that's part of the reason they admire your ambition so much.
ꨄ whether or not you are shifting to a fame DR, and this might only be for a select few, but i get the sense that you two at some point or another have had to keep your relationship hidden. secret glances, hushed voices, hidden rendezvous and all. maybe this was a source of conflict in your relationship, but i think your s/o actually really liked the thrill of it, whether they admitted it or not.
ꨄ you two seem to be really competitive individuals, you both push each other to their best. even if your s/o shows irritation for this from you, they are really grateful deep down. i think they see you as their lucky charm, with you by their side what could go wrong ?
ꨄ you definitely keep them on their toes, they absolutely love what a free spirit you are. you're down for anything like spontaneous road trips across the country, or getting a ( deeply questionable ) tattoo late in the night. but that's not all, you are willing to do anything for the people you love and care for, heck you'd probably give some random stranger your car just because they needed to go to the store real quick. not because you are naive, but because that's how big your heart is. and i think that might be your s/o’s favorite thing about you.
love letter from your s/o
" hello dear, it feels so long since i've last heard your voice. when are you going to give me a call? i think we should go to that spot near the water next time and feed the ducks. i hope you are doing well lately, i've been meaning to check in on you, i'm sorry if i took too long. there's a lot going on lately–but i really miss you and i desperately want to take you out. maybe we could go see a movie as well? my mom’s been asking about you, i think she misses you too shes just too stubborn to admit it, i guess i got that from her, anyways, call me…
p.s. i finally found that shirt you used to always wear around the apartment, i swear it somehow still smells just like you. "

Pile Two 🤍~
/)/) ( . .) ( づ ♡
keywords/signs : heavy water sign energy, 222, twin flames, mirrored souls, ice cream, 111, country life, past traumas, rough childhoods, religion, night sky, prayers, gemini, past lives, parties, drowning, separation, “written in the stars”, guitar, kdramas, moon, stars, lengthy conversations, blue lights
ꨄ well pile two, i felt such heavy emotional energy drawing cards for you. mostly just for how much you and your s/o feel for one another, but there might be some here whose s/o ( and maybe yourself too ) had their hearts broken in the past resulting in trust issues. it seems your s/o loves how much you trust them, and how they can trust you too. you are a very dependable individual, you've helped them heal from past hurt and to be able to open their hearts again. they feel like they can actually cry in front of you, free of judgement. you've freed them of a lot of emotional burden. perhaps they've done the same for you. it seems they view you as a literal angel, maybe you came to them in a really dark time in their life and “ saved ” them, and now they would like to save you as well. they are eternally grateful to you.
ꨄ it seems they adore how absolutely intelligent you are, you stimulate them intellectually in a way others bore them. you two probably have very similar hobbies and tastes in things, it seems reading is might be really important to the both of you. i can see that you two might share opinions and beliefs that others don’t, maybe that is part of how you both first bonded. ex: you two having a ( heated ) debate on something no one else particularly cares about but you both end up surprising each other by sharing the same perspective on something. along with your intelligence they admire how honest and direct you are with not only them but everyone, maybe that is part of the reason they trust you so much. you've shown them that even at their worst you will be there fully, right by their side.
ꨄ it seems that despite your honesty with others, to your s/o you have this air of mystique, they can't quite figure you out. i get the sense you might be playing into that as well… but you are not quite what you seem are you ? they desperately want to learn more about you, you are all consuming for them, they cannot even escape you in their dreams ( not that they'd want you to ). they love how in tune you are with your emotions, you are the stability in their life they never really had. you can easily manage making emotionally mature decisions with both your heart and head. maybe they are sometimes quick to anger, quick to let the highs of their emotions take over their actions and words. they really admire how mature you are ( despite the fact that i get the vibe that a lot of you guys are younger than your s/o ). with your high eq ( and iq ) you are a highly intuitive individual, able to pick up if something is off with your s/o. it makes them feel truly seen and cared for, especially in moments where they might not be able to express what they are feeling in the best way.
ꨄ they feel as though you are the one for them, no one else even comes close. pile two, your s/o only has eyes for you. i get the sense that for a lot of you, music is really important, and perhaps your s/o writes you loves songs. sometimes your s/o really worries for your well being, like making sure you've eaten, brushing your hair for you, getting you something from the store even when you say you don't need anything. it seems there's a chunk of you that may struggle with your mental health, and your s/o wants to make sure you're taken care of and wants to try and make you feel safe, ( even when you need your space or push them away ) they want you to know that just as you have for them they will show up, and they will stay.
love letter from your s/o
" love, this is hard for me to say, so i hope you can be patient with me. it’s nothing bad i promise. for the longest time i've been on my own, i haven't had the option to live life with the consideration of others, and i hope you haven't paid the price for that. you mean so much to me, and i don't think i've told you just how much. you are the breath of fresh air i needed, i can't remember the last time i felt like i wasn't drowning. you’ve shown me a different way to live, a different way to love. i have much to be grateful for, for one, you saving my life. i don't think i've ever mentioned that to you, but it's the truth, my truth anyways. no matter where we are, how far apart, i will always find you.
thank you for everything, but most importantly, for being you. "
songs
ꨄ come back home - bts
" i've seen the end of my life
i feel suffocated inside my heart
what is blocking my life is my fear towards tomorrow "
" why are you wasting your time?
my blood and sweat are truthful
now, let's imprint my name on that trophy and
come back home "
ꨄ kaleidoscope - chappell roan
" i guess we could pretend
we didn't cross a line
but ever since that day
everything has changed
the way i write your name "
" whatever you decide
i will understand "
" and love is a kaleidoscope
how it works we'll never know
and even all the change
is somehow all the same "
" and if you ever find
someone who could write
a better song for you
well i'd love to see them try "
ꨄ step on up - ariana grande
" you can't forget me
gave you the time of your life "
" what you need, babe, is a work of art
what you need, babe
come get it, i got it "

Pile Three 🍫 ~
/)/) ( . .) ( づ ♡
keywords/signs : music dr/band dr, travelling on the road with your band, smoking, games, wild one, messy hair, all nighters, independence, leather, eyeliner, moles, dancing, life of the party, 777, jealousy, third party/love triangle (?), the seventies, money problems, extremely fast paced, rock music, lullabies , fashion, forbidden romance, red hair, spacing out, 333
ꨄ pile three, it seems you are quite the trouble maker aren't you ? and it seems your s/o loves it. they love how you embrace all aspects of your life even the ugly and dark parts, whatever life throws your way you take it and own it! you easily adapt to any situation, always saying the right thing, you could charm anyone. you don’t have to change for anything, you are the change ! it seems for a lot of you, you and your s/o may have rushed into getting together, your feelings overwhelming. you live in the moment and that means wasting no time, why wait to be together when you can right now ? you are such a rush for your s/o. you could probably talk them into doing anything. one thing you definitely are not is boring. spontaneous and wild. and a love for the times. others can’t decide if they want to be you or with you ( probably both ). and somehow you chose them, they can't really wrap their heads around it. i think in a lot of ways they don't feel good enough for you, that you may deserve better, but they definitely don't let these insecurities show ( they try not to anyways ).
ꨄ despite your overwhelming popularity and stardom, it seems you may be overly criticized by others. your s/o definitely loves you for your flaws and all. you just feel so authentic to them, you don't hide who you are for anyone or anything. others might think you are more focused on yourself and or work to have proper relationships with others, but that doesn't actually seem to be the case, not entirely anyways. you reassure you s/o and their insecurities, if they are maybe going a bit off the deep end rest assured that you are the one to pull them back to shore.
ꨄ they often find themselves daydreaming about you. maybe they want things from you they are scared to ask for. i think they are a lot more of a serious person than others think, and that scares them, how serious they are about you. but even when they think you might leave, you are still there. you give them hope for a better future. you wrecked their plans, and that may have been frightening at first for them, but now they can't imagine it any other way. no matter what happens they truly believe they were meant to find you.
ꨄ they are inspired by your positive outlook on life, you can find meaning in something others can’t, in something they can’t. you are a creative soul, something you are quite passionate about, and they are honestly a bit envious of that. they might be someone who is more methodical than wild and creative. you definitely made them think of love and relationships differently, maybe in the past they had a more cold, closed off, demeanor to it. they still have a long way to go it seems. despite their new perspective they might still become easily jealous of the others in your life. due to their own insecurities.
ꨄ this really might not be the case for everyone , but i get the sense that for the older shifters in this group your relationship may have started as hooking up / friends with benefits. i'm trying to keep this pg, but they definitely think of you, a lot. so do what you want with that…
love letter from your s/o
" think a lot has gone unsaid between us. some days i really don't mind, it’s who we are. but sometimes i think we could be more honest, but maybe that's just me. i know that i don't want to lose you, and that might mean showing you parts of myself i hate. but if that means you staying in my life, even for just a little bit longer than okay, you have me, all of me. i think even as much as it would hurt, even if you hated these other parts of myself, i would know that at least i was honest like you. i think you'd probably think this was cheesy and maybe a bit dramatic. god, i can see it now, you laughing, hopefully with me and not at me. it's fine either way though, i'll take what i can get. just don't make too much fun of me... "
songs
ꨄ strange love - halsey
“ and everybody wants to hear
how we chainsmoked until three
and how you laughed when you said my name ”
“ we wrote a story in the fog on the windows that night
but the ending is the same every damn time ”
“ that's the beauty of a secret
you know you're supposed to keep it ”
ꨄ filter - bts
“ i'll be anything
you can pick and choose me, yeah ”
“ for you, every day i'll be new
it's not fun to stay the same all the time ”
“ you'll be wanting only me
yeah, because you are the one who made me ”
ꨄ triptych - samia
“ keepin' you awake, keepin' you awake on purpose hey, did i make a mistake and do my mistakes worsen? ”
“ i'll be good to you, i'm worth it you, i'm worth it ”
ꨄ bonus songs: to be alone by hozier and closer by rm

When all goes wrong, moving in with three guys will help?
6 months. Half a year living with Chris, Arthur and George.
According to Chris, it was a cause for celebration, one that just insisted that you had to have a party. That’s why your weekly trip to B&M had turned into a 2 hour trip, all three of them picking out party cups and plastic shot glasses and literally anything you can find for a party.
“Whats the colour theme?” Arthur asks with a large smile on his face, looking like a child in a sweet shop, Chris following not too far behind with the trolley.
“We don’t have one, why the fuck would we have one?” George replies, laughing at Arthur’s excitement, while Arthur pulled a face at George, making his way towards him to slap the smiling man around the back of the head.
George winced and began to chase Arthur down the aisle, making you and Chris giggle while rolling your eyes.
“God can you two get any more childish?” You said quietly as they caught back up to you minutes later trying to avoid people around you knowing that you lived with these morons.
~
You finished up shopping, and after a fight with Chris over who was going to pay, him winning, you got back to the flat. Flopping down on the sofa had become a regular thing for all of you, normally trying to see who could do it first, and for once, someone other than you won.
Not that you were happy about it, but Arthur’s smile as his head hit the soft cushions was too priceless to be annoyed, even with George and Chris shouting profanities at the brunette sprawled on the sofa, legs hanging over the top, shoes still on.
~
A few hours later, you were lay on your bed after getting ready, lay carefully as not to flatten your curls at the back, or allow the short (too short) dress you were wearing to flash any of your roommates when they come into the room, which would not be the best idea if you were honest.
You hear a knock, faint on the door, making you question whether you actually heard it, but then it comes louder as you jump, saying a monotone “come in”.
Arthur comes in and dramatically flops down on your bed, making you giggle as you question why the man was in your room, not that it wasn’t a common occurrence, it’s just normally all of them together not just one roommate.
“I need your help” he chokes out, grabbing one of your pillows and screaming into it, making you chuckle, fully aware of the dramatics that came with your brunette roommate.
“Whats up? You seem cheery” you laugh sarcastically as he shoots you a glare, making it so that you fly your hands up in self defence, a shit-eating grin still on your face.
“There’s this girl yeah, and she’s coming to the party, because she got a random invite, but I might have a little crush on her, like on social media and stuff” he rambles out, looking as if he’s about to cry from whatever pickle he’d gotten himself into.
“Oh my god!” You laugh out, clapping your hands in excitement. “You are 100% taking your chance tonight I swear arthur!”
“I can’t, she won’t like me like that”
“You’re a stupidly oblivious man Arthur Hill, do you know that?”
“Fuck off”
~
The party was in full swing, people funnelling into the flat every 10 minutes or so, you greeted everyone as they came in, naturally gravitating towards the girls of the friend group, as Sabina, Chip’s fiancée reminded you of how good you look, and how half the guys there are staring.
You look across the room and spot arthur talking to a blonde girl, blushing harder than you have seen him do. Ever. The girl was smiling, laughing along with all his jokes, it was refreshing to see two people so completely enamoured by eachother; almost seeming as if there was no one else around them.
There was a clearing of a throat next to you as you turn your head to the side, George standing next to you looking at arthur and the girl. He spoke up after taking a sip of his beer.
“He looks like he’s in love”
“I know”
You both spoke at the same time.
“It’s cute” you spoke.
“It’s sickening” George laughed.
For a moment you looked at eachother, taking in your opposing views on the situation unfolding in front of you. And then you look back to arthur, letting out a little chuckle.
“You know, one day you’ll find a girl who will make you think love isn’t weird George, and that day will make every girl in the UK cry”
George looks at you, his expression unreadable as he lets out a little hum, walking away from you to go talk to Isaac, avoiding his eyes meeting yours as you shake the feeling off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N- oh I’m so sorry for how long this took! I love you all I swear, and hope you like this one, might have a cheeky couple more coming tonight x (what do we think about hill and his mystery girl, hint: mystery girl is Caitlin, cos she’s amazing x)
