“Hey…there’s something wrong with the boss.” Kieran’s voice was filled with concern, enough that you knew it wasn’t some weird ploy by Sylus to get you to visit. Plus, Luke was usually the one that called if Sylus wanted to casually bully you into visiting.
Your phone dinged and you quickly pulled it from your ear to view the message. It was a photo from Luke, showing the destruction of the front room of the base. Furniture was smashed, paintings torn from the wall, and other various decorations thrown about. The brandy decanter that’d been on a side table laid shattered on the ground, along with the two glasses that typically accompanied it.
“Kieran, what the fuck happened?” Worry sank into you as your eyes darted over the photo, hoping you wouldn’t find blood. There weren't really any signs of a struggle, just aimless chaos.
“We don’t know, we thought you might. He came home last night in a scary good mood and then halfway through the night, he just started wrecking the place.”
“We just had dinner and took a walk around the park, there wasn’t anything unusual about anything.” You tried thinking over the night and still couldn’t come up with an answer. “Where is he now?”
“He’s holed up in his room now, but we’re leaving. Before this temper tantrum, he asked us to go pick something up so there won't be anyone here.” There was a hint of uncertainty in Kieran’s voice, as though the twins were reluctant to leave Sylus in the state he was in.
“Okay, that’s fine,” you pinched the bridge of your nose. “I just got home from work, so I’ll be there in a bit to see if I can talk some sense into him.”
The call disconnected and you hastily packed a bag for an overnight stay in the N109 Zone. You were out the door and on your motorbike in a matter of minutes, speeding through the darkening streets to get to him as quickly as you could.
When you arrived, the house was eerily quiet. There was almost always something from Sylus’s collection of vinyls playing, the sound filtering through the halls from deep within the façade, but not tonight. It was dark, too. Not a single fireplace or lamp was lit. For all intents and purposes, the house was empty. But still you cautiously pressed onward.
“Sylus?” Your voice echoed in the house as you stepped gingerly over the debris, the light of your phone guiding your way. You made your way to his bedroom, knocking on the door.
“Sylus?” You called again when you cracked the door open. A single dim lamp let you see that the room was in similar disarray to the rest of the house. Still, there was no response, and you thought that maybe he’d left.
A feral-sounding growl emanated from the room. It didn’t sound human at all, and you wished you’d brought your weapon. Was all of the destruction the result of a wanderer? Your watch didn’t detect anything but-
“Leave.” Sylus’s voice was strained and…off. Instead of the usual gravel, there was a hint of something more, something beastly. You had heard stories of people turning into wanderers…was it possible that Sylus was a victim to this anomaly?
“Sy, is everything okay?” You dropped into his nickname out of habit, hoping that whatever had taken over his mind would recognize it.
“If you know what’s best for you, Kitten, you will leave right now.” His words echoed in your head, something familiar about them and this situation. You had brief flashes of tapestries and a cave before your mind returned to the present.
“Sy, are you hurt? The twins called me,” you said calmly, stepping further. You still couldn’t see him, but you could hear his ragged breathing coming from deeper in the room.
You had just cleared the archway that separated the sittig area from the sleeping space when you were pushed roughly against the wall. The side table holding the lamp teetered violently before falling over and taking the lamp with it, shattering the bulb. In the brief seconds the light was on him, you could see that Sylus’s pupils were blown wide and his face was flush. In the newfound darkness, his hot breath fanned across your neck in a series of shaky pants.
“Sylus, please. Tell me what’s wrong, you’re worrying me,” you say, raising your hand to cup his cheek. He made a sound like a barely restrained groan as he turned his face into your touch, inhaling deeply. He pressed his lips against your fingers, your palm, your wrist. You were certain that if he’d had a tail, it would be lashing about in agitation.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he growled. “I don’t think I can be very accommodating or gentle right now, Kitten.”
His warning rolled off him, and yet he still pressed further into you. He buried his nose into your neck, inhaling sharply and his lips trailed your pulse.
“S-Sy,” you gasped as his teeth scraped against your skin, in a spot that held an echo of an ache that no longer existed. Worry was very quickly being replaced with something else, something that pooled deep in your core.
“Mmh,” he purred, nuzzling his face against your neck again. “Your scent…steamy and sweet, like cherry wine. It’s been driving me insane all day.”
“Sylus, what-“ your question was cut off when he slanted his mouth across yours. All thoughts escaped you as he consumed you, plunging his tongue into your mouth the moment you opened for him. Worry and doubt fled from you and every sense was filled with him. You’d even forgotten why you arrived at the base in the first place as he hoisted you up against the wall. Your legs hitched up to wrap around his waist and your arms folded around his broad shoulders. He growled in approval, still devouring you as he pressed impossibly close. You could feel him standing at attention, hard and ready, and you wondered how long he’d been in that condition.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said, his voice a breathless whisper against your lips.
“Well, I am here. What’s going on with you, you’re worrying me.” You had to tug at his hair to get him to back off just the slightest bit. Even with your eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room, his face was too far cast in shadows. He was definitely still Sylus, though- you didn’t see any signs of him transforming into a monster. Just the raging hardon that was pressed against your core.
“Kitten,” he whined, dropping his head against your shoulder. His breathing was ragged, sharp inhales let go as shaky exhales. “This need I feel…it’s like I crave you on some primal level.”
He groaned when you tugged at his hair again, just a gentle pull to guide his mouth back to yours. His chest rumbled in what felt like a purr, the vibrations rolling through you to gather at your already wanting core. You gave your silent consent to him by pulling him closer, devouring his mouth in equal fervor. You gently caught his bottom lip between your teeth and his entire body shuddered.
“You should-” lips found your leaping pulse.
“Run away-“ his teeth scraped the slope of your neck.
“While you still can-“ he latched onto your collarbone, sucking at the spot with a hard draw to create a mark there. You gasped and squirmed as best you could while crushed against the wall by his bulk. The action ground your core against his length and he groaned when he released you from his mouth.
“Take me,” you breathed into him. “Use me. Whatever you need, I’m here.”
He groaned again and hauled you against him, pulling away from the wall to stumble blindly to his bed. There he dropped you onto the mattress, bathing you in the pale lights of the city filtering in from the window. His eyes were still cast in shadow, but you could still see the desire that darkened his expression. He was silent, save for the sound of his heavy breaths, as his hand stroked from calf to hip. Heat blazed from his touch, sinking through the fabric of the leggings you wore.
“Last chance, Kitten,” he growled, the sound rumbling low in his chest. Hands rested at your hip, teasing the waistband in silent question. Though you had already given explicit consent, he waited.
Rather than voicing your answer, and rather than giving in to what he so very clearly wanted, your hands found the collar of his shirt. With slow precision, you unbuttoned his shirt while keeping your eyes locked on his. His breath came in shuddering bursts, his body trembling as you teased him. It was a cruel test of his control, even knowing how close he was to snapping. But you couldn’t help yourself. There was something about seeing carnal desire written in every feature, in every motion, that made you want to take advantage of it.
A sharp inhale, followed by a shuddered exhale when your hand trailed down his newly exposed chest in a tantalizing sweep. He caught your hand before it could trail too far down his abdomen, bringing it to his lips and laying a kiss across your knuckles, and another at your wrist.
And then his lips found yours in a searing kiss to seal your agreement. There was nothing short of passion in the way he devoured you, the way he coaxed you open to tangle his tongue with yours. The heat of his mouth trailed along your jaw, down your neck, searing into any exposed skin he could access until he was stopped my the lapel of the button down shirt you wore. Without warning, he grasped the overlapped edges at the front and ripped your shirt wide open. Buttons flew in every direction and all you could do was muffle your moan with a gasp. Because damn, that show of strength was not one you expected to be so hot. You didn’t even care about the loss of the shirt, you wanted him to do it again.
With the obstruction out of his way, Sylus continued the forge a blazing trail of kisses down your body. The bandeau you wore as a bra was shoved down so that he could swirl his tongue around one nipple and then the other. Soft bites to the undersides of your breasts as he continued downward elicited a sharp inhaled gasp from you. His fingers slipped into the waistband of your leggings at each hip and then tugged, removing them and your underwear in one swift motion. Shyness coursed through you when you were finally fully bared to him, but you didn’t fight him when he held your legs in place, spread for him, so he could rake his eyes up and down you.
His lips found the inside of your knee, teeth finding your thigh, and then his face was dangerously close to your core. You swore you could see his eye flash a quick glow, but the next moments pushed all thoughts and reason from your head.
“I’ll start with your warmest spot…” he murmured against your skin. And then he dipped his head further, his breath fanning against your slick folds. “And until I’m finished, you’re not allowed to stop me.”
And then he descended, overwhelming your cunt with precise strokes of his tongue. You tried to twist away from him, crying out in pleasure, but he held you fast. His gaze bored into you, even as your hands sunk into the silky strands of his hair. He worked you until you were right on the precipice, but then pulled away with a devilish grin before you could crash over the other side. You whined at his unfair treatment until he set about removing his own clothing. Your own gaze devoured him the more he exposed of himself, and fuck he was perfect in every way.
He crawled languidly up your body and settled over you, reclaiming your mouth in a hard, punishing kiss. His knee wedged between yours, pushing and coaxing until you had enough thinking power to wrap yourself around him. This put the head of his cock right at your entrance, and you strained your hips towards him in a desperate bid for penetration. A dark chuckle escaped him when he realized what you were attempting.
“All mine,” he growled. Your knee was hooked over his elbow, one at first and then both as the kiss progressed to a carnal need. You were open fully to him now, and all that was left was for him to take that plunge.
And fuck, did he ever.
His hips snapped forward without hesitation, not even affording you the time to adjust to his girth and length. Not that it was necessary, not when he glided into you easily on the slickness of your arousal. He slammed against you, sinking into you to the hilt, and you couldn’t help the pleasured sound that escaped you. You folded your arms around his shoulders, nails biting into his skin when he tried to pull back. He didn’t get far before his hips jerked forward again, almost off their own accord.
It was as though there was some primal instinct that drove him into you so impossibly deep. You couldn’t understand where it came from, but fuck it felt good. The sensations of his cock slamming into you paired with the guttural moans erupting from him brought you back to that precipice rapidly. So rapidly that you barely had a moment's notice before you came apart around him. Pleasure zipped up your spine, turning your mind blank. All you could do was arch beneath him, crying out his name even as he continued to plunder your body.
He so easily folded you in half and set a pace that was bordering on punishing. What little control he could claim to have had in this moment was gone as he rutted into you. The sounds of your bodies colliding over and over rose to join your pleasured cries and his own grunting moans. You were glad the base had emptied due to his tantrum, because it would be very obvious what was happening should anyone step on the floor landing. Hell, even floors below could probably hear your loud, frenzied mating.
Feeling bold, maybe even mischievous, you lifted your mouth to the jumping pulse at his neck and scraped your teeth against it. Sylus let out a shaky, breathy moan and tilted his head away to grant you more access. With a grin, you bit down on that corded muscle that made up the slope of his neck.
His head fell against your chest with a deep moan, slamming his hips into you hard. Your bite turned into sucking on his neck, raising a mark to show your claim on him to anyone who would dare to look. And he also latched his mouth to your skin, drawing out the same kind of mark.
With a growl, he released your neck to observe the purpling mark he made. His gaze darted to yours, locking eyes with you as his thrusts increased to a breakneck pace. Pleasured expressions flitted across your face and you were almost certain that’s what he was looking for. And then you were arching into him again, crying out his name as your walls pulsed around him. The edge he had been chasing came and went, and he spilled into you with a guttural cry of his own. His hips jerked and slammed into you, his cock twitching as you milked him for everything he had.
He kissed you feverishly, and even as you came down from the high of release, he was still impossibly hard inside you. He rocked into you with small thrusts and you could feel his heart hammering beneath your touch.
“Fuck, how do you feel this damn good,” he whimpered against your lips. His body crashed against yours when you whimpered his name in response, over and over as he chased another release. It came to him with a sharp snap of his hips against yours, a shudder that swept through his entire body, and then more hot ropes of cum were flooding your cunt again.
And he still somehow wasn’t done with you.
A brief respite was all that was granted before he was thrusting deep into you again. At this point, you weren't even sure where you ended and he began. You were beginning to wonder if you would be leaking his cum for days after this encounter, even moreso when he slammed into you again with a guttural, primal cry of ecstasy. This one brought you over the edge with him, the feel of his cock pulsing and twitching inside you drawing release from you without warning.
Finally, after one more orgasm ripped through both of you, Sylus slumped against you. He nuzzled into your neck, soft kisses peppering your skin as you both attempted to regain your breath. He released your legs from his pressing hold and you ran your thighs down both sides of his body, delighting in the way he shuddered again.
You were both a sweaty mess, and you were certain the sheets needed to be changed once he slipped from your body. But he took his sweet time with you, giving gentle kisses that were a stark contrast to the primal possession he just exhibited. The weight and heat of him pressing you into the mattress felt like heaven, and you made a mental note to request this kind of skinship again in the future. Maybe with a little less mess. Or maybe with more, who knows.
You complained when he removed himself from the bed, grudgingly allowing yourself to be carried by him to the bathroom. You were exhausted and couldn’t work up the energy to feel embarrassed as he cleaned you up in the shower, but you were delighted in the way his hands massaged your scalp as he washed your hair. You nearly fell asleep when he blow dried your hair, making him have to carry you back to bed. He slipped you between fresh silk sheets and climbed in behind you, trailing kisses along the back of your neck and shoulders as he wrapped himself around you.
Safe and cozy, you fell into the deepest sleep you’d ever experienced.
And when you awoke to Sylus being gone, you couldn’t help but pout. Until he pushed through the door with a tray in hand, wrapped in his favourite brocade robe. He wordlessly set the tray down in front of you, and you saw it was filled with various crackers, cheeses, and fruits.
“Consider this my apology,” he said with a chuckle as you eagerly dug into the tray. He sat next to you in bed, allowing you to feed him. He was content enough to watch you enjoy the tray, but couldn’t say no when you turned to offer him bites.
“What was that all about anyway?” You ask finally, after working up the courage to not be shy. Sylus’s brows drew down in thought.
“I’m not entirely sure, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced something like that before. I came home to being surrounded by your essence, your scent, and it's like a switch flipped in my head. Like I was possessed. Like some sort of primal instinct that wouldn’t leave until I had you flat on your back with my cock driving into you.”
You blushed furiously at his casual words, occupying your hands and face with more food, so that you wouldn’t put those hands and your mouth all over him in some sort of retaliation. He chuckled darkly and leaned close, inhaling deeply at your neck.
“Mmh. I think I like my scent being intertwined with yours,” he growled into your ear.
Neither of you left his bed for a while following that, and you were grateful it was your weekend.

FOREVER NOW | CHRISTOPHER STURNIOLO
You and Chris have been tied together by an invisible string ever since you met at 10. As you grew older, Chris became your safe place. He was always there, unknowingly shaping himself into the person you’d eventually fall in love with. By the time you were 18, you had become each other’s first everything- first kiss, first love, first promise that neither of you could ever belong to anyone else the way you belonged to each other. And now, standing in the bathroom with ten pregnancy tests lined up on the counter, that promise felt heavier than ever.
story warnings: fluff, smut, creampie, heavy breeding kink, pregnancy, established relationship, etc… if any of these topics upset you… don’t read!
word count: 6k
a/n: thank you so much for 1k followers!! i love you all so much!!
The rain taps gently against the window. Your shared apartment is dimly lit, warm, filled with the faint trace of Chris’s cologne- the kind of smell that feels like home, like safety.
Chris is beside you on the couch, one arm draped lazily over your legs, his other hand scrolling absentmindedly through his phone. The TV plays some old movie in the background, half-forgotten.
Your fingers trace small circles on his forearm, the soft fabric of his hoodie warmed by his skin. He hums in contentment, shifting just enough to glance at you.
“What’s going on in that beautiful head of yours?” he asks, voice soft, familiar.
You smile, but your mind is elsewhere, caught in the years before this moment. Because this love didn’t start here.
It started long before.
FIFTH GRADE.
You met Chris at ten years old, standing awkwardly in the doorway of your parents’ friend’s house.
“This is Chris,” your mom said, nudging you forward.
He had messy brown hair, an oversized hoodie, and a smile that made you think he probably got in trouble at school a lot.
He gave you a shy nod. “Hi.”
You stared for a moment, then mumbled, “Hi.”
The adults left you alone, and somehow, within an hour, you were arguing over who could beat who in Bedwars. By the time your parents came back, you were already thick as thieves, plotting some grand scheme to get extra dessert at dinner.
From that day on you couldn’t remember a memory that he wasn’t in.
EIGHTH GRADE
You learned that heartbreak could come before high school.
There was a boy- your first real crush. He was charming, sweet, made you feel special. Until, suddenly, he didn’t.
You found out from a friend that he had been texting someone else the entire time. That everything he said to you, he said to her too.
Chris found you at the park that night, sitting on the swings, kicking at the dirt, trying not to cry.
He sat next to you without a word. Just there. Present. Until you were ready.
“I really liked him,” you admitted eventually, voice small.
Chris scoffed. “Yeah, well, he’s an idiot.”
You sniffled, glancing at him. “You think?”
Chris nodded firmly. “Obviously. He had you and still wanted someone else? That’s just stupid.”
Something about the way he said it, so certain, made your heart feel just a little lighter.
You didn’t know it then, but that was the first time Chris made you feel like you were worth more than the people who hurt you.
It wouldn’t be the last.
JUNIOR YEAR.
Prom was supposed to be perfect.
Instead, your date cheated. Chris’s date bailed.
And somehow, you ended up at prom together- dressed up, but ditching the actual dance for a late-night drive, fast food in hand, sitting on the hood of his car in the school parking lot.
“You think we’re cursed?” you joked, pulling a fry from the bag.
Chris smirked, leaning back on his palms. “Or maybe we just keep picking the wrong people.”
You glanced at him then- at the way the Boston lights reflected in his eyes, at the way he always showed up when no one else did.
For a moment, you almost said something. Almost realized something.
But instead, you just smiled. “Guess we’re each other’s backup plan now, huh?”
Chris had looked down at his feet and let out an almost sad sounding chuckle, “Guess so.”
But he didn’t feel like a backup plan.
Not even then.
SENIOR YEAR.
It wasn’t sudden.
It wasn’t a grand, dramatic moment where everything clicked into place.
It was gradual. Like the slow rising of the sun, creeping into your life until one day, you realized- he had always been the light.
Chris had always been there. Through every heartbreak, through every bad decision, through every night spent crying over people who didn’t deserve you.
And then one day, you just knew.
It was late, past midnight, the two of you lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling, laughing about something dumb, something unimportant. And then the laughter faded, and suddenly, the air felt different.
Chris was looking at you. Really looking at you.
And for the first time, you didn’t look away.
Your heartbeat quickened. You swallowed.
“Chris.”
He shifted, his fingers barely brushing against yours between the sheets. “Yeah?”
You took a breath.
“I- I think it’s always been you.”
Silence.
His breath hitched, but his fingers curled around yours, holding tight.
“I-” He exhaled sharply, shaking his head with a quiet laugh. “God, I was scared to say it first.”
Your chest ached, but for the first time, it wasn’t painful. It was full.
You smiled, biting your lip. “You’re an idiot.”
“Yeah,” he murmured, eyes soft, full of something you had been searching for in everyone else but only ever found in him.
And then he kissed you.
And everything made sense.
Back in the apartment, Chris shifts beside you, resting his chin on your shoulder.
“You’re thinking too much again,” he murmurs.
You shake your head, smiling softly. “Just remembering.”
He hums. “Good memories?”
“The best.”
Chris tilts his head, studying you. “Wanna share?”
You turn to face him, meeting the gaze of the boy who had always been there, who had never let you go.
The rain outside is still steady and you let your head rest against his chest again, listening to the steady beat of his heart. Safe. Home.
“You ever think about soulmates?” you ask, voice quiet but certain.
Chris smirks, locking his phone and setting it aside. “Yeah.”
You lift a brow, tilting your head to look up at him. “Oh really? Always been me?”
He chuckles, low and warm, pressing a kiss to your forehead before leaning back against the couch. “Yes, my love. Always been you.”
Your heart swells. Even after all these years, hearing it still makes something in your chest ache in the best way.
Chris shifts, pulling you even closer, wrapping his arms around you completely, tucking your head under his chin. You sigh against his hoodie, breathing him in, your fingers tracing idle patterns on his thigh.
For a while, you just exist like that- wrapped up in each other, listening to the rain, the outside world feeling so far away.
Then Chris hums. “What do you wanna do for dinner?”
You tilt your head, thinking. “What about some PF Chang’s?”
His face lights up. “That sounds incredible.”
You grin, watching as he grabs his phone and pulls up DoorDash, immediately placing the order without hesitation. Because it’s the city, and neither of you want to go out in the rain when food can be delivered straight to your door.
When the food arrives, you both sit on the couch, containers spread out on the coffee table. You grab a pair of chopsticks, but Chris, like always, opts for a fork, shooting you a smug look like he’s superior for it.
“You’re so uncultured,” you tease, grabbing a dumpling.
Chris snorts. “I just don’t like fighting for my food.”
You roll your eyes, but there’s no real annoyance behind it- just warmth, just love.
As you eat, the conversation shifts to your future, like it always does.
“What about baby names?” Chris muses, stealing a bite of your lo mein like it’s his. “What do you like?”
You smirk. “You planning on knocking me up tonight or something?”
Chris smirks. “Definitely planning on fuckin’ you but, getting you pregnant? We’ll see.”
You shrug nonchalantly, picking up a garlic noodle with your chopstick. “I still want you to cum inside me tonight regardless.”
He chokes on his food, coughing as he glares at you. “Jesus, give me a warning before you say stuff like that. I’m gonna get hard.”
You laugh, nudging his shoulder. “I’m serious, though. You ever think about it? Baby names, becoming parents, getting me pregnant…?
Chris swallows, setting his container down before shifting to look at you fully. His expression softens, thoughtful. “Yeah,” he admits. “I have.”
You raise a brow. “And?”
He smirks. “You first.”
You sigh dramatically, leaning back into the couch, pretending to think. “I like the name Owen for a boy,” you say eventually. “And maybe Elliot for a girl. Her nickname would be Ellie”
Chris nods. “Owen? That’s my middle name. But Ellie is really cute. I like that.”
“Yeah, goof. It would be named after you, handsome. But what about you?”
He leans forward, resting his chin in his hand as he blushes softly. “I’ve always liked the name Weston for a boy,” he says, glancing at you. “And for a girl… maybe Aria.”
You smile. “Aria is cute.”
Chris nudges you. “So, our kid’s name is either Owen, Ellie, Weston, or Aria. Got it.”
You roll your eyes, but your heart swells anyway. “I can’t imagine having a kid anytime soon.”
Chris grins, pulling you onto his lap effortlessly, wrapping his arms around your waist. “No rush,” he murmurs, nuzzling into your shoulder. “We’ve got time.”
You melt into him, fingers threading through his hair.
“Okay, more future talk,” he says after a moment. “Houses. Where do we end up?”
You hum. “Do you wanna stay in Boston?”
Chris tilts his head. “I like Boston, but I wouldnt mind somewhere quieter. Maybe something coastal? A place where we can sit on the porch and watch the sunrise. What about my family's cape house?”
You smile. “That sounds perfect.”
Chris grins, tapping his fingers lightly against your back. “Can you imagine being as a full time suburban dad?”
You snicker. “Hard to imagine you giving up city life and inheriting Matt’s minivan to truck our kids around.”
Chris groans. “Please never let me get that goddamn minivan.”
You laugh, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Deal.”
The remnants of dinner are still scattered across the coffee table- half-empty takeout containers, crumpled napkins, chopsticks resting haphazardly in cartons, four empty pepsi cans. Chris groans, stretching his arms before nudging you with his knee.
“You ready to clean this up?” he asks, though he doesn’t look like he wants to move any more than you do.
You sigh dramatically, leaning back against the couch. “Or… we could just leave it here and deal with it in the morning.”
Chris snorts. “No way. You hate waking up to a mess.”
You grumble, knowing he’s right. “Fine. But you’re taking out the trash.”
“Deal.”
The two of you move in sync, cleaning up without much thought- him stacking the containers, you wiping down the table. Domesticity has always been easy with Chris, effortless in a way that feels like breathing. It’s not something you ever have to think about; it just is.
Once the apartment is back in order, you stretch, letting out a soft yawn.
Chris grins, wrapping his arms around you from behind, pressing his chin against your shoulder. “Bed?”
“Yes.”
You slip into the bathroom while Chris grabs water for both of you. The space is warm, the soft yellow glow of the vanity lights reflecting off the marble. You change into one of your favorite comfy outfits- an oversized, faded navy sweatshirt that hangs off one shoulder, exposing the thin strap of your lace bralette underneath, paired with soft gray Calvin Klein boyshorts that hug your hips just right.
The fabric of the sweatshirt nearly swallows you, the hem brushing the tops of your thighs, the sleeves hanging just past your wrists. It smells like detergent, a little like Chris, a little like the home you’ve built together.
By the time you start brushing your teeth, Chris enters, setting the water bottles on the counter before glancing at you in the mirror.
His eyes darken immediately, lips parting slightly as he takes you in- the way the sweatshirt slips off your shoulder, the way your shorts sit snug on your curves.
“You trying to kill me, baby?” he mutters, voice thick.
You smirk around your toothbrush. “I just put on something comfortable.”
Chris shakes his head, stepping closer behind you, his hands skimming the edge of the sweatshirt before resting low on your hips. “Yeah? This is comfortable?”
You nod, watching his gaze flick between your reflection and the way his hands trace slow, deliberate circles against your skin.
You fumble your phone, and it slips from the counter, landing with a soft thud on the floor.
You sigh through your toothbrush, bending over to grab it.
And that’s when you hear it.
A sharp inhale. The softest curse under Chris’s breath.
“Fuck, baby.”
Before you can straighten, his hands slide over your hips, firm but reverent. One palm presses against the small of your back, the other smoothing over your ass, fingers flexing as if he can’t help himself.
You swallow hard, heat creeping up your spine as you grip the sink for balance.
Chris leans in, his lips grazing the shell of your ear. “You still up for that promise, baby?” His voice is low, gravelly, dripping with want.
Your breath hitches. “What promise?” you ask, playing coy.
Chris chuckles, dark and knowing, his fingers pressing a little more insistently into your skin. “The one where you let me cum inside you.”
Your heart pounds, the weight of his words sending a shiver down your spine. You meet his gaze in the mirror, and the heat in his eyes makes your knees weak.
Chris smirks, running his hands up your sides before spinning you to face him fully. His fingers slide under the hem of your sweatshirt, gripping your waist as he pulls you closer.
“You still want that?” he murmurs, his lips ghosting over yours.
Your answer is immediate.
“Yes.”
Chris’s smirk deepens, satisfaction flickering in his darkened gaze. His grip tightens just enough to make you shiver, his fingertips pressing into your skin like he wants to leave his mark there.
“Yeah?” His voice is low, teasing, as he drags his hands over your hips, his thumbs tracing lazy circles. “You want me to fill you up, make sure you feel me long after, huh?”
You swallow, pulse hammering against your ribs. There’s no hesitation when you nod, your breath hitching as his lips graze yours- featherlight, just enough to tease.
Chris hums, his hands sliding lower, squeezing your ass before lifting you onto the counter with ease. His body slots between your legs, firm and unyielding. He keeps you there, locked in place, his forehead resting against yours.
“Say it again,” he demands, his voice rough with want.
Your fingers tangle in his hoodie, pulling him impossibly closer, your legs tightening around his waist.
“I want it, Chris,” you whisper, lips barely brushing his. “I want you to cum inside me.”
A sharp inhale from him, and then his mouth crashes onto yours, all heat and hunger. His fingers slide under your sweatshirt again, this time with purpose, exploring, claiming.
“Shit, baby,” he groans against your lips, his hands pushing higher, tugging at your clothes.
He doesn’t waste another second. His hands slip beneath your thighs, gripping firmly as he lifts you off the counter with effortless strength. Your arms loop around his neck instinctively, your breath coming in short, heated bursts as he carries you through the dimly lit apartment.
The air between you is thick, charged, every step he takes toward the bedroom making your anticipation coil tighter. His lips find your jaw, trailing hot, open-mouthed kisses down the column of your throat as he nudges the bedroom door open with his foot.
By the time he lays you down on the bed, your body is already burning for him. Chris hovers over you, his hands planted on either side of your head, his darkened blue eyes devouring every inch of you.
“Been wanting to do this all night,” he murmurs, fingers dipping under the hem of your sweatshirt again, this time pushing it up with agonizing slowness. “Take my time with you.”
Your stomach tightens as he peels the fabric over your head, tossing it aside carelessly. His gaze drinks you in, lingering on your bare skin, the way your chest rises and falls beneath him.
“Ma,” he breathes, his hands already roaming again, thumbs brushing over your sensitive skin. “You’re so fucking beautiful.”
You reach for his hoodie, fingers curling around the hem as you tug. “Then take this off,” you whisper, your voice breathless, needy.
Chris smirks but obliges, pulling it over his head and letting it drop to the floor. His toned chest and arms are bare now, the soft glow from the bedside lamp casting shadows over the ridges of his muscles.
Your hands roam over his skin, tracing along his collarbones and his happy trail. He watches you with dark, hooded eyes, his breathing heavy as he slides his hands down your body, toying with the waistband of your shorts.
“These too,” he murmurs, voice thick with desire, as he hooks his fingers into them, dragging them down your legs inch by inch. The sensation sends a shiver through you, every inch of your exposed skin burning under his touch.
Once your shorts are gone, Chris kneels at the edge of the bed, his hands smoothing over your thighs as he leans down, pressing slow, lingering kisses to your soft and wet cunt. His lips trail higher towards your clit, teasing, making your breath hitch.
Then, just when you think you might combust, he pulls back, standing to his full height.
Your eyes lock onto his as he unbuttons his jeans, dragging the zipper down slowly. He doesn’t look away- not as he pushes them past his hips, not as they fall to the floor, leaving him in just his boxers, the evidence of his desire straining against the fabric.
“Your turn,” you whisper, eyes flicking to the last piece of clothing between you.
Chris smirks, hooking his thumbs into the waistband and pushing them down.
Chris lets his boxers drop to the floor, kicking them aside before crawling back over you, his body warm and solid against yours. His hands find your thighs, spreading them wider as he settles between them, his weight pressing into you in a way that makes your breath hitch.
“Yeahhhh,” he murmurs, dragging his lips along your jaw, down the column of your throat. “You’re so fucking perfect. Every single inch of you.” His hands roam your body like he’s memorizing you all over again, tracing over your curves, his thumbs brushing against your hip bones.
You shudder under his touch, gripping onto his shoulders, needing something to anchor you. Chris smirks against your skin, his lips pressing sloppy kisses over your collarbone, then lower, taking his time.
“I’ll never get tired of this,” he whispers, his breath hot against your peaked nipples. “Never get tired of touching you, tasting you… fucking filling you up.”
Your breath stutters, heat pooling low in your stomach at his words. His hands slide down, gripping your hips firmly, fingers pressing possessively into your skin.
“You love that, don’t you?” he murmurs, tilting his head to watch your reaction. “Love knowing I wanna fill you up every time. Keep you like this-” he grinds his hips against you, slow and deliberate, making you gasp. “So full of me.”
Your nails dig into his shoulders, and Chris groans, rolling his hips again, teasing you, making your body arch into his.
“Say it,” he demands, his voice rough, edged with need. “Tell me you want it, baby.”
Your head tilts back against the pillows, a whimper slipping from your lips. “I want it, Chris,” you breathe, your voice barely more than a whisper. “Want you to fill me up.”
Chris growls low in his throat, his hands gripping your thighs, his lips ghosting over yours. “Fuck, you drive me crazy,” he murmurs. “You know that? The way you say it… the way you look at me like that. I swear, I could spend every fucking day buried inside you and it still wouldn’t be enough.”
His words send a shiver down your spine, your body tightening in anticipation. His fingers trail down, teasing, testing your patience.
“You ready for me, baby?” he asks, voice thick, teasing as his eyes flick up to meet yours. “You want it that bad?”
“Yes,” you gasp, your hands fisting in the sheets. “I need you, Chris.”
Chris groans, pressing one last lingering kiss to your lips, slow and deep, before pulling back just enough to line himself up, swiping his cock a few times through your built up arousal. His gaze locks onto yours, intense, unwavering.
“Then take it,” he murmurs. “Take all of me.”
Chris doesn’t hold back. He pushes in slowly at first, savoring the way your body reacts to him, how you gasp and clutch at his shoulders, legs tightening around his waist. His jaw clenches as he watches you, eyes dark, pupils blown wide with need.
“Fuck,” he groans, dropping his forehead against yours. “You feel so good, baby. Always so fucking perfect for me.”
Your breath stutters, your nails dragging down his back as he sinks deeper, filling you inch by inch. The stretch is delicious, a slow burn that makes your head spin, and Chris eats up every little sound you make, his grip on your waist tightening.
“Look at you,” he murmurs. He leans back just enough to watch your expression, his hands roaming over your tits and cupping them, mapping every inch of you. “You take me so fucking well. Every time.”
Your head tilts back, a moan slipping from your lips as he rolls his hips, setting a slow, deep rhythm. Chris groans at the feeling, his fingers pressing into your skin like he never wants to let go.
“That’s it, baby,” he breathes, kissing along your jaw, down to your throat. “Let me in- let me fill you up just the way you need.”
His pace quickens just a little, his control hanging by a thread as he watches you come undone beneath him. Every thrust pushes him deeper, making you gasp, your body arching into his.
“God, you’re perfect,” he groans, his hands gripping your hips, pulling you closer. “So fucking tight, so warm- like you were made for me.”
Your fingers tangle in his hair, your lips parting in a desperate gasp as he hits the perfect spot inside you. Chris feels it, sees the way your body responds, and it makes something primal snap inside him.
“That’s the spot, huh?” he murmurs, a smirk playing at his lips even as his own breath is ragged. “Gonna cum for me, baby? Gonna let me fill you up like you need?”
“Chris,” you whimper, your body tightening around him, heat coiling low in your stomach.
“Say it,” he growls, his thrusts getting rougher, more desperate. “Tell me you want it. Tell me you need me to cum inside you.”
Your back arches, pleasure crashing over you in waves as your orgasm hits and you squeeze him impossibly tight. “I need it- I need you to fill me up, Chris. So bad.”
He groans, his grip on you tightening as he thrusts harder, deeper, chasing his release. “F- fuck, baby, I’m gonna- ” His breath shudders, his movements getting sloppier as he buries himself as deep as he can, his body tensing.
A guttural moan tears from his lips as he spills inside you, holding you tight, his forehead dropping to your shoulder. His breathing is heavy, his body trembling slightly from the intensity of it, and he presses lazy kisses against your skin as he comes down.
“Shit,” he breathes, his arms wrapping around you, keeping you flush against him. “I swear, I’ll never get tired of this. Never get tired of you.”
You let out a soft, breathless laugh, running your fingers through his hair, still coming down from your own high.
Chris doesn’t move for a moment, still catching his breath, his body heavy and warm against yours. But then, as if something clicks in his mind, he shifts, gripping your hips with both hands.
Without warning, he pushes your hips up, angling them just enough to keep every drop of his cum inside you. You whimper at the sudden movement, your body still sensitive, your legs trembling from the aftershocks of pleasure.
“Chris- fuck.” you murmur, a dazed little laugh slipping from your lips, “what are you doing?”
His fingers press into your skin, his grip firm, possessive. His darkened blue eyes flick down to where you’re still connected, then back up to your face, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“Making sure it stays,” he murmurs, voice rough, teasing but laced with something deeper, something almost primal.
Your breath catches. “I thought you didn’t want me to get pregnant.”
Chris doesn’t answer right away. Instead, he leans down, pressing kisses along your jaw, down the curve of your neck. His breath is warm against your skin, his lips lingering, his hands still keeping your hips in place.
“I never said that,” he finally murmurs, his voice husky, “maybe I like the idea more than I let on.”
Your heart stutters. Heat blooms in your chest, pooling low in your stomach again despite how spent you already are. Chris tilts his head, watching your reaction closely, his smirk deepening as he sees the way his words affect you.
“Don’t look at me like that, baby,” he teases, pressing another kiss to your collarbone. “You’re the one who begged me to cum inside you.”
Your breath hitches. “Yeah, but I didn’t think you actually wanted-”
Chris cuts you off with a slow roll of his hips, just enough to remind you he’s still inside you, still keeping everything right where he wants it. You gasp, your fingers gripping his arms.
“Don’t act so surprised,” he murmurs. “You know how fucking good it feels. How right it feels.” His lips graze your ear. “Tell me you don’t love it.”
You swallow hard, your pulse hammering. “I do,” you whisper.
Chris smirks against your skin, his hands tightening on your hips. “That’s my girl,” he breathes. “And who knows… maybe one day, I won’t just be filling you up for fun. Maybe one of these days I’ll fuck a baby into you.”
Your stomach flips, your whole body flushing at his words. Chris just chuckles, his expression dark and full of satisfaction as he kisses you again- slow, deep, claiming.
“But for now,” he murmurs, letting his weight settle over you again, his hands still holding you in place, “we’ll just make sure it sticks.”
Chris finally releases his hold on your hips, letting you relax into the mattress, though he doesn’t pull away just yet. He presses a few lingering kisses against your shoulder, his hands smoothing over your sides as he breathes you in.
“You good?” he murmurs, his voice warm and tender now, the teasing edge from before softened.
You nod, still catching your breath, your body pleasantly sore in the best way. “Yeah… just feel like I can’t move.”
Chris chuckles, rolling off of you but staying close. “Guess I did my job right, then.” He smirks, but before you can throw a pillow at him, he leans in, brushing his lips over your forehead. “C’mon, let’s get cleaned up.”
He helps you up, keeping an arm wrapped around your waist as you both make your way to the bathroom. He’s gentle as he runs a warm washcloth over your skin, pressing soft kisses along your jaw, your shoulders, wherever he can reach. It’s such a contrast from the heat of earlier, but it makes your heart swell all the same.
Once you’re both cleaned up, you slip on one of Chris’s hoodies- something oversized and soft- and climb into bed. Chris follows, pulling you close, his arms wrapped securely around you as he buries his face in your hair.
“Love you,” he mumbles sleepily, his lips brushing against your temple.
You smile, pressing a kiss to his chest. “Love you too, Chris.”
TWO MONTHS LATER
You groan, dropping your forehead against the kitchen counter as another wave of nausea rolls through you. “Ugh, I feel awful.”
Chris looks up from where he’s leaning against the fridge, brows furrowing with concern. “Still feeling sick, baby?”
You nod, rubbing your stomach with a frown. “Yeah… I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I keep feeling nauseous at the most random times. And I swear, I smelled coffee earlier, and it made me want to throw up.”
Chris winces, stepping closer and rubbing a hand up and down your back soothingly. “I’m so sorry, baby. Can I do anything?”
You shake your head, sighing. “I don’t even know what would help. It’s just been happening out of nowhere.”
Chris presses a kiss to the side of your head, his touch warm and comforting. “Maybe you just ate something bad? Or you’re stressed?”
“Maybe,” you mumble, but you’re not entirely convinced. “Are you sure the chicken last night was fully cooked?”
“I check it twice. It was.” Chris gives you a sympathetic look. “Tell you what- I’ll make you some tea, and then we can just chill on the couch, yeah? I’ll rub your back, we can watch whatever dumb reality show you wanna put on.”
That makes you smile a little, and you nod. “Okay. That sounds nice. Thank you baby.”
Chris grins, pressing another kiss to your forehead before heading to the kettle. “Anything for my girl.”
ONE WEEK LATER
You groan as you lean over the bathroom sink, splashing cold water on your face in a desperate attempt to shake off the lingering nausea. It’s been happening every morning now- like clockwork. And as much as you’d been hoping it was just a stomach bug or something that would pass, it wasn’t going anywhere.
“Baby?” Chris’s voice is groggy, laced with sleep as he steps into the bathroom, rubbing his eyes. “You okay?”
You let out a slow breath, gripping the edge of the counter. “Same as yesterday. And the day before that.”
Chris frowns, stepping closer, his hands settling on your waist as he looks you over. His touch is warm and grounding, but when his thumbs brush against your sides, you wince subconsciously.
Chris notices immediately, his brows drawing together. “Hey… why’d you flinch?”
You shake your head, still trying to wake up fully. “I didn’t-” But then his hands slide up a little higher, skimming under your hoodie, and the moment his thumbs brush against the curve of your breasts, you jolt.
Chris’s eyes widen. “Whoa. Okay. That was a reaction.”
You frown, stepping back slightly, your arms crossing over your chest. “They’ve just been… weirdly sensitive lately.”
Chris tilts his head, his gaze flicking down before his lips curl into the smallest smirk. “Not to mention…” His hands return to your sides, his touch slow, almost hesitant. “Baby, I swear to God, they look bigger. Like huge. It makes me so horny.”
You scoff. “Chris!”
“I’m serious!” He gives you a pointed look, stepping back just enough to take you in. “They’re… I don’t know, plumper? And you’ve been nauseous for over a week. You’re throwing up every morning. You don’t think…?”
You blink at him, brows furrowing. “Think what?”
Chris’s expression shifts- something between excitement and pure realization flickering across his face. He licks his lips, searching your eyes, almost as if he’s waiting for you to catch up.
“Baby,” he says slowly, carefully, “you don’t think you could be… pregnant?”
The words hang between you, heavy and thick in the quiet morning air. Your stomach twists- but not from nausea this time.
Your lips part slightly, a small laugh slipping out- almost disbelieving. “Chris, there’s no way…” But then, as you say it, the last few weeks flash through your mind. The exhaustion. The cravings. The nausea. The sensitivity. The way you haven’t used a condom with him in months and he hasn’t been pulling out.
Chris watches you closely, his smirk fading into something softer, more serious. His hands settle on your hips again, thumbs rubbing slow circles. “Baby,” he murmurs, voice quieter now, “when’s the last time you had your period?”
Your stomach drops. Your mind races as you try to remember, but the more you think about it, the more your chest tightens. You should’ve had it by now. You always keep track. But with everything going on, you hadn’t even noticed.
Chris sees the realization hit you. His hands tighten just slightly, his eyes locked onto yours. “Shit,” you whisper.
Chris lets out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head. “Yeah. Shit.”
You look up at him, heart pounding, eyes wide. “Chris… what if I am?”
He’s silent for a moment. Just looking at you. And then, slowly, his lips curl into a grin.
“Guess we should find out.”
Chris doesn’t waste a second. The moment the realization fully settles between you, he’s already moving. He grabs his phone and wallet off the nightstand, shoving his feet into the closest pair of sneakers.
“I’ll be right back,” he says, pressing a quick, firm kiss to your forehead before darting toward the front door.
You blink, still in shock. “Wait- Chris, where are you-”
But he’s already gone.
You stand there for a moment, your heartbeat thudding in your ears. This has to be a joke, right? There’s no way this is actually happening. But as you place a hand over your stomach, the reality starts creeping in.
A few minutes later, you hear the front door swing open again, followed by the unmistakable crinkle of plastic bags.
“Alright, baby, let’s do this!” Chris’s voice is practically beaming as he jogs back into the bedroom, his arms full of pregnancy tests. You stare in disbelief as he drops multiple boxes onto the bed, some falling onto the floor in the process.
“Chris,” you say slowly, eyes widening. “What the fuck is this?”
“Options,” he says simply, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “I got every brand they had. Digital ones, line ones, ones that apparently have smiley faces-” He pauses, flipping a box over before tossing it onto the pile. “I didn’t know there were this many kinds, honestly, but we’re covering all bases.”
You shake your head, staring at the sheer amount of tests in front of you. “Ten tests, Chris?”
“At least ten,” he corrects, grinning.
You narrow your eyes at him, crossing your arms. “Why are you so happy about this?”
Chris hesitates for half a second before letting out a short laugh, scratching the back of his neck. “Honestly? I don’t know. I just… am.”
You search his face, expecting to see panic or nerves, but all you find is pure excitement- like he wants this. Like the idea of you possibly carrying his baby is something he’s already embracing.
Your stomach twists, but not in a bad way. It’s terrifying and overwhelming, but with the way he’s looking at you, it also feels… oddly okay.
Chris claps his hands together, bringing you back to reality. “Alright, let’s go. Go pee on some sticks.”
You snort despite yourself. “Some?”
“All of them,” he corrects, already scooping up the tests into his arms. “We need solid confirmation, baby. I need a goddamn unanimous decision from these things.”
Shaking your head, you exhale sharply, running a hand through your hair before turning toward the bathroom. “This is insane.”
Chris follows right behind you, grinning. “This is science.”
You roll your eyes, but as you close the bathroom door behind you, Chris leans against the sink, watching you with nothing but warmth in his gaze.
“Whatever happens,” he murmurs, his voice softer now, “we’ll figure it out together, okay?”
Your chest tightens, and you nod, swallowing the lump in your throat. “Okay.”
“Wait! Let me see what they say first. Don’t pee on anything!” Chris rips open one of the boxes with the same energy he probably had during his high school finals. He pulls out the instructions, unfolds them with an exaggerated flourish, and clears his throat.
“Alright,” he announces, squinting at the paper. “Step one: Remove the test from the wrapper.”
You snatch a test from one of the open boxes and rip it open with ease. “Done.”
Chris nods approvingly, scanning the next step. “Step two: Hold the absorbent tip in your urine stream for five seconds. Or dip it in a cup of urine for twenty seconds.”
You give him a flat look. “Absorbent tip?”
“Hey, I’m just reading what it says,” Chris says, holding up his hands in defense. He glances down again, then smirks. “Oh- this part’s important: Make sure you don’t pee on the result window. We need a clear reading, baby.”
You roll your eyes. “Thanks for the groundbreaking information, Chris.”
“Just looking out for accuracy.”
You shake your head, but your heart is thudding in your chest. This is actually happening.
Chris notices your hesitation and softens slightly, stepping closer. “You okay?”
You let out a slow breath. “Yeah. Just… nervous.”
Chris nods, setting the instructions down on the counter before placing his hands on your hips. He leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “No matter what happens, we’re in this together. Got it?”
You nod, exhaling against his chest. “Got it.”
He smiles, giving you a small squeeze before stepping back. “Alright, go do your thing. I’ll be right here, being incredibly supportive and not at all annoying.”
You snort. “Mhm.”
Chris gasps dramatically. “Wow. So much doubt for the man who just spent a ridiculous amount of money on pregnancy tests for you.”
Shaking your head, you grab the cup from the counter- because there’s no way you’re risking peeing on your own hand in the middle of a life-altering moment- and step toward the toilet. “Okay, turnaround now.”
Chris throws his hands up. “I literally fucked this baby into you?!”
“We don’t know if there’s a baby yet!” You roll your eyes but do what needs to be done, filling the cup and carefully dipping the first test. Then another. And another. You cycle through each one, following the ridiculous variety of instructions. Five seconds for one. Twenty seconds for another. One where you had to cap it immediately and lay it on a flat surface.
Chris stands by the counter, eyes wide as he watches you line up ten tests in a perfect row.
“Jesus Christ,” he mutters. “That’s a lot of science happening at once.”
You let out a breath, setting the last test down. “Now what?”
Chris grabs one of the boxes, scanning the fine print. “Now we wait.”
You swallow hard, wiping your hands on a towel before gripping the edge of the sink. “How long?”
Chris squints at the instructions. “Three minutes.”
Three minutes.
Three minutes to find out if your whole world is about to change.
Chris must sense your nerves because he steps up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. He rests his chin on your shoulder, his lips brushing your jaw. “I can set a timer. Or we can just stare at them aggressively until something happens.”
You let out a breathy laugh, leaning back against him. “Okay… let’s do it.”
Chris’s phone is already in his hand before you even say anything. He holds it up, pressing record with a grin.
“For our future kid,” he says, his voice full of barely contained excitement.
You raise an eyebrow at him. “You don’t even know if it’s positive yet.”
Chris smirks, shaking his head. “I have a feeling, baby.”
Your stomach twists as you reach for the first test. Your fingers tremble slightly, and you can feel Chris’s anticipation radiating off of him. With a deep breath, you flip it over.
Two lines.
Positive.
Your heart stops.
Chris lets out a sharp inhale, but before either of you can fully process it, you reach for the second test.
Positive.
The third.
Positive.
Every. Single. One.
Chris stares at them for half a second before a wide grin spreads across his face. “Holy shit.” His phone lowers slightly as he turns to look at you, his eyes shining. “Baby- holy shit!”
Before you can react, he grabs you, lifting you off your feet and spinning you around. You gasp, gripping his shoulders as a laugh bubbles out of you, your nerves momentarily forgotten.
“Chris!” You giggle, clinging to him as he twirls you.
“I knew it,” he exclaims, setting you down just enough to crash his lips against yours. The kiss is heated, desperate, but full of so much love that your chest tightens.
Then, before you even realize it, tears start slipping down your cheeks. You pull back slightly, your hand flying to your stomach as a sob escapes you.
“Oh my God,” you whisper, voice shaking. “Our baby is in my stomach.”
Chris freezes, his hands still gripping your waist. He stares at you like he’s just now fully comprehending it, like the reality of it all is truly sinking in. His lips part slightly, his breath hitching.
“Our baby,” he murmurs, and the way he says it- so full of awe, of love- makes your heart ache.
But then, almost instantly, his entire demeanor shifts. His grip tightens, his eyes darting around the room like his brain is moving a mile a minute.
“Shit. I need to tell my mom. And my dad. And my brothers.” He steps back, running a hand through his hair, pacing slightly. “What about your family? Should we call them first? And the apartment- fuck, we need to start looking at places with an extra room. Or at least be ready for when she grows up- ”
You blink. “She?”
Chris stops, looking at you dead serious. “I don’t know, baby, I just know. I have this gut feeling that my new babygirl is growing inside you right now.”
Your heart clenches at the sheer certainty in his voice.
But then he’s spiraling again. “Oh God, we don’t have anything for a baby. I need to research cribs- what’s the safest crib? And strollers- shit, what’s a good stroller brand? I don’t know anything about strollers! And- fuck, baby, we’re twenty-one. I haven’t even married you yet!”
He turns to you, panic written all over his face now, and for the first time ever, you’re the calm one.
You step forward, reaching for his hands, squeezing them tightly. “Chris, baby, breathe.”
His chest rises and falls rapidly, but he listens, taking a deep inhale as his eyes lock onto yours.
“It’s okay,” you murmur, pressing his hands against your stomach. “The way you reacted tells me all I need to know. You’re gonna be an amazing father.”
Chris swallows hard, his panic giving way to something softer, more vulnerable. His fingers flex against your stomach, like he’s already trying to connect with the tiny life growing inside you.
“You think so?” he asks, voice quieter now.
You smile, cupping his face. “I know so.”
Chris exhales shakily, closing his eyes for a moment before leaning forward, resting his forehead against yours. “I love you,” he murmurs.
“I love you too.”
And in that moment, standing there in the tiny bathroom with ten positive pregnancy tests lined up on the counter, everything feels exactly as it should be.

♡‧₊˚ Babydaddy!Chris x Sweetheart!Reader – Emotional Support
Chris was a mess; it was three in the afternoon, and he was still in bed. Trapped under his thick comforter, hiding away from the sunlight that took over his bedroom. A groan leaves his lip whenever he hears light knocks coming from the other side of his room, “go away!”
“C’mon kid,” Matt jiggles the knob, cracking the door slightly to poke his head in, “you gotta eat something — it’s been three days.” Nick abruptly kicks the bedroom door open with his foot, “you’re gonna eat these mini pizzas we cooked with love, just for you — or Matt is gonna hold you down while I shove them down your throat,” he spits out, stalking across the room and snatching the comfort off of Chris’ curled up figured. Chris fights his hardest to win the tug of war battle, but he loses, practically giving up, due to the lack of energy in his body. You’d think he’d be fully rested with all the 'sleep' he had gotten the last few days, never leaving his memory foam mattress unless his bladder told him he absolutely had to. Chris wasn’t sleeping his days away like his brothers assumed, a lot of the times he was up thinking about you and his unborn son. About how he ruined the only relationship he ever had with the girl who meant the most to him — the girl who was carrying his baby, the girl who he was certain he wanted to marry one day.
The last conversation he had with you, he was telling you how sorry he was, how much he missed you, that he needed you home with him. Your only reply was that you needed more space, so that’s what Chris has been attempting to do. Only problem is — he can’t get you out of his fucking head. Chris often stays up all hours of the night, scrolling through your Instagram or the old snapchat conversations he had saved, looking at the old messages from when everything was normal and okay. He was absolutely gutted; he missed everything about you, and he wished he never took the bond you two shared for granted.
“M’not hungry,” he croaks out, grabbing a pillow to throw over his head in an attempt to block the sunlight that blinds him. Matt lets out a lengthy sigh, “you have to eat something,” taking seat on the edge of Chris’ bed, and rubbing a hand down his back in a soothing manner. It killed him to see Chris in such a sad state, he was usually the life of the party, so it was odd seeing him moping around the house like he had been the last two weeks.
“Chris, seriously,” Nick chimes in, “it’s not the end of the world, kid.” Nick was a bit more insensitive to the situation than Matt because of how close he had gotten with you throughout yours and Chris’s relationship. You were like the little sister they'd never got, when Nick found out about Chris cheating on you, it broke his heart a little bit too. Nick didn’t pick sides, but he definitely showed you more support than he did his own brother. You were pregnant with his nephew for crying out loud. Chris was wrong and he knew that there was no excuse for his actions. Nobody wanted to see Chris in the state of mind he was in, but it wasn’t anyone else’s fault but his own. Nick definitely wasn’t the one to baby him, unlike Matt who loved playing the therapist role to both you and Chris.
Chris dramatically throws his pillow back and glares at Nick, “it is the end of my world, Nick.” Nick rolls his eyes at Chris’ over-exaggerations, he knew you distancing yourself would last long since you were due in a couple weeks. Plus, you had been texting him the whole time you were gone, updating him on your plans and how you felt about the Chris situation. You were at a crossroads, but Nick knew you too well, he knew you'd crack once Chris applied enough pressure like you usually did.
The two brothers share a similar look, biting back smiles at Chris’ dramatics. Matt snatches the pillow away from him, “c'mon you’re getting up.” He tosses the pillow across the room, adding it to the pile of dirty laundry and Chris’ thick comforter. Another groan erupts from Chris’ chest, the mattress making it come out a bit muffled, “I’m not leaving from his bed until my baby momma tells me to.”
“Fine,” Matt huffs, crossing his arms over his chest, “I’ll FaceTime her so she can see how foul you look — seriously, man. I can smell your feet from the next room,” he tells him before tapping a few buttons on his phone. Chris lays there motionless, calling his brothers bluff. He didn’t think Matt would actually FaceTime you but when your voice sounds from the other side of the phone screen, “yes — Chris?” Concern weaved through your words like a tight braid, your tone makes Chris sit upright in one swift movement. As much as he wanted to cry out to you, confessing his true feelings and expressing how sorry he was, he didn’t want you to see him in the state he was in, he knew you'd feel bad. The last thing he wanted was you to be upset over his own fuck up. “What’s wrong with him?” your voice sounded worried. Chris would be lying if he said it didn’t make his heart warm, knowing you still cared made him feel like there was still hope to repair the relationship he damaged so badly.
Matt opens his mouth to speak but Nick quick wittedly cuts him off, “let’s start with the fact that the kid hasn’t showered in days ‘cause he won’t leave his bed,” pinching the bridge of his nose in disgust. Chris knew his brother was just poking fun at him, only trying to lighten the mood by cracking jokes. A long sigh can be heard from your side of the phone, “well if he checked his phone then he’d know I’ve been texting him for over an hour.” As soon as the words leave your mouth, Chris' eyes widen and he's scrambling for his phone. He taps his finger against the screen a few times, only to reveal 6 unread messages and 2 missed calls for you. The last one reading - “I miss you 😑”
Overjoyed with emotion, a bright smile forms, making his lips curve upwards. Chris stands up on his bed, tangling a hand thru his brown locks before snatching the phone from Matt, “you want to come over? I can pick you up, we can get dinner on the way,” he rambles on, desperately shooting out any suggestion, hoping and praying you'd take his offer. He didn’t want to miss the opportunity to see you. Your absence left him physically and mentally ill.
“Yeah,” you squint at him, studying his expression. He looked thrilled and exhausted at the same time. Dark circles made their mark underneath his puffy, bloodshot eyes. His hair is messy and tangled like he hadn’t been using the apple scented conditioner you introduced to him while you were gone. Seeing him so unkept broke your heart, but not more than the revelation of him cheating. You shake your head, pushing the negative thoughts to the back of your mind before clearing your throat, “I need to talk to you.”
︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶ ୨♡୧ ︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶
The sight of an all-black, tinted out Audi parked in front of your best friend's house makes you take an uneasy breath — you knew exactly who it was. You sigh loudly, tugging your jacket on to protect you from the cool night air. Your best friend, noticing the hitch in your breath, chimes in from the open living room, “he’s here?”
“Yea,” you breath out, your voice barely audible as you look over at her, “I’ll be back soon. Jus’ gonna get some food and talk for a little.” If it was up to your bestie, she’d lock you up and throw away the key for good, hiding you away from him at all costs. You can tell she’s stopping herself from saying what she really wants to, “be careful and make good choices,” she forces a toothless smile before turning her attention back to the tv. She didn’t want you to go back to Chris; she hated the emotional damage he forced on you, mainly because she was always the one to pick up the pieces once you were shattered and broken. She was a great form of emotional support for you, much like Matt was for Chris. Regardless of anyone else’s opinions on yours and Chris’s relationship, your due date was right around the corner, and you were vulnerable. You couldn’t fathom the idea of raising your newborn son without his father. Each time you thought about it the idea made you sick to your stomach.
You make your way to his car, pulling the passenger door open to reveal your babydaddy. The familiar scent of his cologne sends a chill down your spine, it was comforting in a way. You sink down into the passenger seat, setting the purse he gifted you last week on the floorboard of his car. Chris was determined to win you back. He made sure he still came in clutch whenever you were craving random food combinations, he left presents and takeout food on your best friends' doorstep with cute notes attached to them - “not a gift to win you over, just a gift to show my appreciation” and “Chinese food because I know Bear won’t let you live without it. I miss you. I love you. I’m sorry.” It was sweet how attentive he still was, even if you weren’t one hundred percent present, he still showed he cared and that meant something to you, aside from his prior shitty decisions.
“Hey,” he stretches, a gummy smile plastered on his face. You could tell he was happy to be within a close vicinity of you. You set your eyes on him, taking his appearance; he was freshly showered and doused in his signature, making it obvious he was trying to look his best for you. As weird as it sounds, you missed the smell of him so much that it was always like a new craving for you. He shoots you a playful look, already reading your mind because he knew you that well. “You look good today,” he coos, placing a hand on your thigh to give it a squeeze. His firm grip sends tingles thru your core, his touch was another big thing you had been craving while you two were apart.
You swat his hand away while a dark shade of redness makes its way to your cheeks, making Chris throw his head back to bellow out a laugh, “too soon?” He knew he still had a certain effect on you which is why you never stay around him too long, you’d fold under pressure quick. As much as you wanted to let your smile break thru, there was no time for games. Furrowing your brows at him as you desperately try to hide your red cheeks, “this is serious, Chris — we don’t have time for jokes.”
His smile falls into a slight frown, and he shifts in his seat, “I know that. Sorry, I jus’ miss you.” Chris reaches down into the compartment of his door, pulling out one of your current pregnancy cravings, “I got you gummy bears,” he presses his lips together in an awkward manner. It was weird to him, not being able to touch and kiss you like he used to – like he really wanted to. A mix of emotions swirl through your gut. You felt guilty for putting him through the emotional trauma of not having his nearly due girlfriend by his side, you knew he was worried if you’d come back to him, worried if Bear would come earlier or not. At the same time, it was validating that he cared enough to go through all these lengths just to get you back – camping outside of your best friend's house, showing up with presents and food cravings. The most important part was him actually leaving you alone when you told him you needed more space. It gave you a lot of time to think about your next move. Was Chris texting another girl worth throwing all the work you two put in?
“I miss you too, but that’s not the topic of discussion right now,” you mumble, looking down to your lap, smoothing a hand over your bumps as Bear kicks repeatedly as the sound of Chris' voice, like always. You weren’t there to make Chris feel worse about what he did, your absence was enough to make him sulk in his own sorrows. By the way his brothers had been texting you nonstop about Chris not even getting out of bed to do his bare minimum daily routine, you knew it was time to stop distancing yourself and actually work past the problem, whether it meant going back to him or not.
A faint smile forms at his lips when he hears you finally say you miss him, “you do, really?” One thing about this whole fucked up situation, Chris never failed to expression his emotions. It was a big change for him, but then again, he acted like a new man ever since he found out you were pregnant.
“Of course I do, but that doesn’t —,” you fiddle with the sleeves of your jacket, your small voice getting interrupted by his raspy one, “it doesn’t excuse what I did.” You watch as he gnaws at his bottom lip out of nervousness, his wet hair making water stains on his white t-shirt, “nothing will — I know that, Y/N.”
It was known Chris loved to call you his Sweetheart, so anything less was gut wrenching to you. He was more serious than you had ever seen him. Chris turns his body towards you, his hard gaze fixed on you as his own way of letting you know he meant everything he was about to say, “but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to prove to you that I can be a better man for you and Bear.” His words make their mark on you, making you nod in agreement to everything he was saying. Maybe it was his convincing demeanor or maybe it was because you missed his company. Or maybe it was because he was saying all the right words, telling you everything you wanted and needed to hear. You open your mouth to speak but quickly close it, not knowing what to say, so he does it for you, “I have a therapy consultation later this week,” he starts, clearing his throat before he reassures you once more, “I’m willing to do whatever it takes – however long it takes, seriously.”
You raise a brow at him, staying quiet as your thoughts run rampant through your head, picking at the skin on your fingers as you try to muster up a response. Therapy; he was willing to go through therapy if it meant keeping his relationship afloat and his family together. Chris can practically hear the gears turning in your head. He knew you were thinking carefully, going through all the possible outcomes, and weighing out the future, not only for your relationship but for your unborn son. Chris watches intently as you pick at your fingers, he had picked up on the nervous habit of yours a long time ago. He knew you too well. He wanted nothing more than to reach out and stop you from damaging yourself any further, but he knew it wasn’t the right time. Hot tears brim the waterlines of your eyes, you suck in a deep breath before looking at him, your mouth gaping open to speak but the words get stuck in the back of your throat once again.
You could see the pain in his eyes as he watches you struggle to speak, his voice lower than before, “I don’t want to miss anything.” He sniffles, a stray tear escaping his eye and rolling down his cheek, only to get whipped away by Chris’ large hand rather quickly. The sight of him crumbling in front of you made your heart ache, you knew what he was implying, he didn’t want to miss out on fatherhood or the chance at a picture-perfect family. You didn’t blame him; you wanted Bear to grow up in a two-parent household as badly as he did. Both you and Chris knew nothing other than being raised by two amazing parents, and that was a long-term goal for the two of you. A family, marriage, a few pets, and a big house on a large plot of land built specifically for your family; it was something you talked about and planned with him for the last eight months. The thought of letting go of all those dreams and goals you and Chris shared together made you queasy.
He sucks in a breath, “fuck – sorry, I told myself I wasn’t gonna do this in front of you,” letting out a deep breath and pulling sleeves over his hands to collect the tears spilling from his eyes. You sink back in your seat, his outburst felt like he drove a stake right thru your heart, he had never been this open with you. Of course, he expressed how badly he wanted you back and how sorry he was, but he never broke down crying and pleading for you back. The therapy consultation just topped it off, he was willing to work through his faults for his family. You look over at Chris, his body hunched forward while his head is buried in his hands, his wet hair still making water marks on his white t-shirt.
“I’ll come home,” your voice is shaky and your hands tremble. Chris picks up his head in one swift movement, fixing those icy blue arctics on you. He wipes his face, sniffling once more, “you will? Y’really mean it?” His words come out pushed together as he fights back his sobs. You nod to him, holding your index finger up, “under one condition.”
Chris’ eyes are puffy, his face red from crying, “anything – anything you want – y'name it.” The urgency in his voice tells you he’s serious, “I’ll sleep on the couch, diaper duty forever – anything, sweetheart.” He lets his intrusive thoughts win by scooping your hand up, interlocking your fingers and bringing it up to his mouth to plant a light kiss to the back of it. The feather-like feeling of his lips leaves goosebumps on your arms and a pool forming between your thighs, you bite back the smile pulling at your lips before looking him in the eye seriously, “couples therapy.”

“JJ!” You exclaim, skipping through the Chateau, looking for your boyfriend. The air is sticky, filled with the smell of wood, salt, and beer.
You make your way through the living room and spot your boyfriend in the back, lying on one of the hammocks.
He covers his face with his arm, slowly bujając się.
“Jay, you have to hear this!”
JJ sits up the second he hears your voice, his eyes almost shut. “Hi, baby.”
He extends his arms, and you quickly hug him, leaving a peck on his lips.
“Okay, so you better hold on to this hammock, because—”
“Woah, woah. Wait,” he says, rubbing his eyes and ruszając się, trying to give you some space. “What’s going on?”
You grit your teeth while sitting on the edge of the worn-out material, not being able to keep this to yourself any longer. “Ugh, remember when I told you my mom asked me to go help the Jones? They just moved back here but without Ben.”
JJ furrows his brows, “Ben? The father…?”
You nod, “Yes! Well, their daughter is our age, and, by the way, she’s super sweet! Maybe I should invite her over here—”
“You’re drifting off the topic, baby.” JJ reminds you, now fully awake and interested in your story.
“Yeah, right. When I got there, she seemed kinda sad and annoyed, so as the good person that I am, I asked her what was wrong, and she spilled the whole tea! Everything!” You ramble, animating with your arms, and JJ watches your every move with a slight smile, clearly amused.
“She said her father cheated on Ms. Jones with a girl who’s barely 20! Do you understand that?!”
JJ giggles under his breath, lying back down. “Yeah. That’s so fucking messed up…”
“Right?” you say before you take a deep breath, “She mentioned that that side chick used to live here and that we might know her, but i have no idea who could that be.”
“Damn, you gossip like an old lady.” Your boyfriend says, pulling you to his chest. You gasp, dramatically placing your hand on your heart.
“I will find out. I mean, who cheats on such a beautiful woman like Ms. Jones? Especially this… this Ben? He looks like he sneaked onto the Earth—”
“Woah, woah, chill!”
You sit on the couch in your living room, sipping the juice from the recipe you just tried out and trying to get through a book when you get a notification.
With a sigh, you reach for your phone to read the message you got from JJ. He’s supposed to pick up his hoodie, which he left there last week.
A few minutes later the comfortable silence gets broken with the loud ring of the bell.
JJ doesn’t even hesitate, he just comes in without a second thought. You take a look at his face and can immediately tell he’s not in the best mood. He immediately comes up to you.
“Hi,” you say as he leans in to kiss the top of your head. “What’s up?”
He grunts, “I had to go and fix the AC at the Jones house. They were talking so fucking loud my head feels like exploding—”
You let out a gasp, and your eyes glisten. “At the Jones? What were they talking about?”
JJ squints his eyes, “Uhh I don’t know? I stopped paying attention after some man joined in.”
You look at him, disappointment mixed with disbelief. “Are you serious?”
“Well, yeah, they were arguing so I just did my thing and left.”
You groan. “You are kidding me. JJ, you could’ve heard something about the drama!”
He widens his eyes, a sheepish smile crawling onto his lips. “Ohhh, right… I’m sorry, baby.”
Your lips form into a pout, and JJ raises his eyebrows. “Nuh-uh, don’t pout at me for this. I’m not a gossiper, you know that.”
“Well, I know, I know…”
“But I promise I’ll tell you anything I hear.”
You sigh and hug him, breathing in his scent. “You better.”
You don’t even know when did you drift off to sleep, sitting on the back porch at the Chateau. The soft breeze and whistles of wind put you to sleep like a lullaby.
The front doors close with a loud crack, announcing that JJ has returned from the shop. You and the Pogues were supposed to have dinner tonight, and your boyfriend had to go and buy all the missing ingredients.
“Baby, you won’t believe it!”
You slowly open your eyes, eyelids fluttering from the orange sunset sky. You hum, and JJ runs outside, the grocery bag still in his hand.
“Did you get everything?” You ask, stretching your arms with a yawn.
“Yeah, I think so, anyway…” He speaks so fast you have to gain your consciousness quickly in order to understand what he’s saying. “Guess who I met at the store!”
You squint, trying to come up with a name in your mind, still fogged up with sleep. “Rafe?”
JJ shakes his head and you click your tongue.
“Topper?”
“No!” he gets a bit frustrated, a sight that makes you laugh. “What was a thing you were super invested in?”
Your eyes widen. “The Jones?”
JJ’s grin grows even wider. “Yes! Oh my God, would you believe that the man I saw is actually Ms. Jones’ new boyfriend? And that’s not the best part. He’s Ben’s cousin who’s much more successful too! This man owns four different restaurants and has three houses in Asia, Europe, and South America. He’s crazy rich!”
You gasp. “Wow. You really clocked all of this, didn’t you?”
He looks at you, a proud look on his face. “Duh. It was so much fun!”
JJ starts to tell you the story about how he had to follow them in different isles to hear everything and in the meantime, you check the grocery bag.
“…Then they moved to the dairy fridges, so naturally I went after them and—”
“JJ.”
“Huh?”
“You forgot half of the products...”

Thank you!! Someone had to say it!
I actually liked that they didn't handle it well in the book simply because it made sense in the narrative, and for who the characters are. Its 2007, and none of them (as far as we know) have a frame of reference for Jean's type and scope of trauma. If they responded perfectly, I think I'd honestly find it kind of hard to believe. I'm a fan of authors being very logical in their character's responses like that.
But I'll go a step further, and look at it from a more...emotional? angle. I don't understand why people hate on them for handling it badly. When I read the book, I found it almost...endearing? In the sense that -to me- their occasionally badly executed attempts at handling Jean reflect such a determination to care and to try.
As always, bear with me.
A major theme of the book, in my opinion, is that looking away, be it literally or metaphorically, when something is wrong and someone needs help, is an act of violence. To me, the floozies ‘bad’ handling of Jean’s trauma is just a product of them not looking away. The easier thing is always to look away, or worse, to push the thing that makes you uncomfortable away as fast and far as you can.
Trauma is often reacted to this way. Most people are not used to seeing people get triggered, especially when the resulting behavior is violent or frightening in nature. People aren't sure how to deal with what are clearly serious issues, so they respond to that discomfort by pulling away. They put distance between themselves and this person they don't understand, and in the process, alienate the victim further.
Cat, Laila, and Jeremy seem to be aware that they are in over their heads, with Jean. They can see that he's got shit going on that they have no idea how to deal with.
But they don't drop him, they don't pretend it isn't happening, and they don't hold him at arm's length.
They try.
They use what limited, ill fitting knowledge they have, and they try to meet him where he's at. They do not respond like trauma therapists because they are not trauma therapists. They are twenty-somethings in 2007 who understand very little beyond knowing that there is a person in front of them who is clearly not alright.
Over and over again, they choose to do the uncomfortable thing, and try to offer him what they can. What he needs is probably intensive therapy- but he's has (or will have, come TGR) Betsy for that.
The Floozies are offering something less clean cut than a therapist, but no less well intentioned or valuable. It's friendship, and warmth, and a chance at normalcy. They challenge his harmful thinking, and try to prevent him from retreating within himself so far that no one can get to him. They push him to do new things, and provide a contrast to what he believes life to be.
And yeah, sometimes they mishandle things. They're also young. But they do not quit on him. They very determinedly do not look away, even as the pile of Big Scary Concepts To Reckon With gets bigger and bigger. I think they're meant to be a contrast to the Ravens, in a lot of ways. Instead of picking on his weakness, they refuse to leave him behind. They don't let him stay trapped in his own head just because it would be easier for them.
In my opinion, their well intentioned, somewhat poorly executed attempts at trying are a hundred times better than not trying at all.
"the floozies are terrible at dealing with Jean's trauma!!?!!!"
the floozies are twenty years old

𐙚。⋆ 𖦹 .✧˚ chained reaction,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary. a curse tied you to dean and the resolution is... messy.
pairing. dean winchester x reader
wordcount. 576
Tumblr media
The chain glints in the dim light of the bunker, its cold weight resting between you and Dean. The cursed artifact—an ancient, rusted shackle adorned with strange runes—had snapped onto both your wrists mid-hunt, leaving you tethered by three feet of unyielding chain.
“I still don’t understand how this happened,” you mutter, glaring at the chain as you tug futilely against it.
Dean’s jaw clenches as he paces, the chain jingling with every step. “I picked up the damn thing to examine it. How the hell was I supposed to know it’d latch onto us like a damn trap?”
“Because it’s cursed,” you snap. “We’re hunters, Dean. Isn’t not touching cursed objects the first rule?”
Dean stops pacing and glares at you, his green eyes dark with frustration. “Oh, I’m sorry, princess. Maybe next time you can take point and let me know when something’s about to screw me over.”
Your temper flares, but before you can bite back, Sam enters the room, his face a mix of amusement and concern.
“So, good news and bad news,” Sam says, holding an open lore book.
“Just give us the bad news,” Dean grumbles.
Sam sighs. “The chain won’t come off until you, uh… resolve your tension.”
You frown. “What does that mean?”
Sam clears his throat awkwardly, looking anywhere but at the two of you. “It means you have to… make-up―or better yet, make out.”
Dean barks out a disbelieving laugh. “You mean we have to kiss to break it? That’s ridiculous.”
Sam shrugs, clearly wishing he were anywhere else. “That’s what the lore says. The artifact reacts to unresolved emotional tension between people.” He closes the book, giving you both an apologetic look. “Good luck.”
Sam retreats quickly, leaving you and Dean alone in the tense silence.
You glare at Dean, your heart pounding. “This is all your fault.”
He steps closer, the chain pulling taut. “My fault? If anyone’s got unresolved tension here, it’s you.”
“Oh, please.” You roll your eyes, though your stomach flips at the heat in his gaze. “You’re the one who—”
Dean cuts you off, his voice low and rough. “Do you really think this is easy for me? Being around you every damn day, pretending I don’t…” He trails off, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallows hard.
Your breath catches. “Don’t what?”
His eyes darken, and his voice drops even lower. “Don’t want you.”
The air between you crackles, the weight of his words settling heavily in your chest. “Dean…”
“Tell me I’m wrong,” he challenges, stepping closer, his boots brushing against yours.
You can’t.
The tension snaps like a rubber band. Dean’s hand cups the back of your neck, his lips crashing into yours with a desperation that steals your breath. You gasp against his mouth, the taste of him overwhelming as your fingers curl into his shirt, pulling him closer.
The chain jingles as his free hand grips your hip, anchoring you against him. It’s frantic and messy, years of buried feelings spilling out in every press of his lips and every ragged breath.
When you finally break apart, you’re both panting, foreheads pressed together. “That enough tension for you?” Dean mutters, his voice rough and uneven.
You laugh softly, your fingers tracing the curve of his jaw. “I don’t think the chain’s coming off just yet.”
His lips twitch into a smirk, but there’s something raw in his eyes. “Guess we’ll just have to keep trying.”

ᎮᎥᏖᎩ ᎮᏗᏒᏖᎩ II- Kim Minjeong x Reader
Word Count: ~7K
Prompt: When Minjeong transferred to an elite school, she didn't expect to catch the attention of Y/N, the golden girl. Then again, she also didn't expect Y/N to be the root of all her misery.

Minjeong was ignoring Y/N.
That much was clear.
It started happening after the night Y/N confessed to her.
There were texts left on read. Calls unanswered. When Y/N called for Minjeong in the school hallways, the short-haired girl just walked faster and disappeared. When Y/N tried talking to Minjeong before or after classes, the other girl put her headphones on and focused on her exercises.
Y/N thought she hadn't ruined anything with her confession.
She thought she and Minjeong could work things out with patience.
"Maybe I thought wrong."
"Are you kidding me?" Aeri frowned, her arm wrapped around Y/N's shoulder as the two walked along the hallways. "From what you've told me, you've been nothing but lovely to her."
"Well, clearly, something went wrong." Y/N shook her head. "She seemed fine when we were at my house. We even went to a convenience store, and I walked her home. I-why would she just start ignoring me?"
Aeri stayed silent, not really knowing how to answer. Her best friend had been the happiest she'd seen her in a while. It didn't make sense that Minjeong would just ignore Y/N for no reason after that.
The only possibility Aeri could think of was that Minjeong had realized dating Y/N wasn't going to work and had decided to break it off.
The problem was that ignoring Y/N instead of talking about it was a pretty poor way to-
Aeri tilted her head, an idea suddenly crossing her mind. "Didn't you say she's friends with Jimin?"
"Yeah, so-" Y/N turned to Aeri, her eyes widening ever so slightly. "You think she told her about my father?"
"I mean," Aeri hesitated, "Jimin did tell Ning that she regretted breaking up with you... and she always goes after what she wants."
Y/N took her time to think her options through.
It was ridiculous.
Jimin was the one who broke up with her. She was the one who let their parents' business get in the way of their relationship. Two years down the drain because Y/N's father was elected as mayor and not Jimin's.
And now she was ruining her relationship with Minjeong?
Y/N shook her head, looking down at her hands, picking at a few loose skins. "Jimin wouldn't do that."
"Wouldn't she?" Aeri suddenly halted in her tracks, and Y/N turned to her in confusion.
She followed her gaze and felt her jaw clench in anger.
Walking right towards them were Jimin and her group-Yunjin, Ning, and Minjeong. Y/N felt a little sick to her stomach.
The group moved to walk right past her, but Y/N reached for Minjeong, her hand suddenly trembling.
"Hey." She tried to meet Minjeong's eyes, but the other girl refused.
Minjeong could feel Y/N's grasp on her arm but refused to meet her gaze. Her heart was beating out of control in her chest, a mix of emotions washing over her.
She didn't want to see Y/N.
She didn't want to talk to Y/N or get close to Y/N or get to know Y/N.
In fact, all she wanted was to forget her.
Because if she got close to Y/N, she'd only come to care for her more.
She'd only come to care about a girl who had done nothing but lie to her. A girl whose father had completely ruined her life.
"Can we talk... alone?" Y/N's voice was as calm as ever, but one look at her face told everyone that she wasn't very happy with the situation she found herself in.
"Actually, I need to get to class, sorry," Minjeong mumbled.
Minjeong felt bad about the way Y/N's face fell at her response, but she had a hard time caring about it at the moment.
All she wanted to do was get out of the situation and clear her mind.
Y/N's hand tightened around her arm. "Minjeong, please. I just need a minute."
"Didn't you hear her?" Jimin spoke up, wrapping an arm around Minjeong's shoulder. "She doesn't wanna talk to you."
Y/N clenched her jaw, her eyes darkening as she turned to finally look at Jimin. "What did you tell her?"
"Only the truth," Jimin replied calmly, her eyes never leaving Y/N.
Minjeong just stood there, frozen, as the two stared at each other. She was aware of her friends worriedly glancing at her, unsure of what to do with their situation.
"You had the chance to tell her everything on your own. You didn't, so I did."
"I was going to." Y/N's eyes fell on Minjeong. "Minjeong, I swear-"
Minjeong shook her head. "You had plenty of chances to tell me. You chose not to."
She stared at Y/N for just a little while longer as hurt filled up in her chest. "It's too late now," she finally said simply.
When the bell rang later that day, she pushed the door open and walked into class, ignoring the looks Y/N was giving her.
Their teacher was always late, so students were walking around the room, chatting with each other.
Minjeong settled down in her spot and pulled out her notebook. Her eyes instinctively rolled back when she caught a familiar figure approaching her from the corner of her eye.
"Will you, please, just hear me out?"
Minjeong tensed as Y/N took the seat next to her.
"Minjeong-" Y/N began.
"Don't." Minjeong found her voice again, her eyes glued to her notebook.
The last thing she wanted was to hear Y/N making up excuses, so she steeled herself and refused to look up.
"Look, my father did build your old school, and I knew who you were from the minute you set foot inside this school." Y/N decided she'd be honest and make herself heard. "I was friendly with you because I wanted to make myself feel better for my father's actions. I'm sorry. I promise you that everything I told you when I confessed to you was true. I really do-"
The room seemed to freeze as Y/N's head snapped to the side on impact.
Minjeong's hand stung as it left Y/N's cheek, the sound of the slap resounding through the room, and everything came to a standstill.
Minjeong could feel all the eyes on them, but all she could focus on was the wide-eyed, hurt look on Y/N's face.
Minjeong forced the words out of her throat, her breaths coming up shallow against the weight of the emotions in her chest. "You need to shut up and leave me the fuck alone."
She held Y/N's eyes for a second, taking in her wide-eyed expression. There was hurt in the other girl's eyes, the look nearly making Minjeong feel bad.
The moment didn't last. Once the door opened behind them and they heard the teacher's footsteps approach, Minjeong turned to the front of the room again.
Y/N looked down in embarrassment and shame. She stood up from her seat and wiped away the stream of blood in the corner of her mouth.
The slap had made her accidentally bite herself.
She moved back to her seat, ignoring everyone's eyes on her.
Minjeong tried her best to focus on the teacher and write down as many notes as she could. She had to keep her mind on something, and if writing down notes would help, she'd do it.
At one point during the lesson, she felt a pair of eyes on the back of her head.
It was a familiar feeling, similar to the one she had felt when she walked down school hallway earlier that morning.
Minjeong grit her teeth against the memory, refusing to take another look over her shoulder.
Y/N took the clue immediately.
It took her a slap to understand, but she did. She distanced herself from Minjeong. She didn't look her in the eyes anymore; she didn't try to talk to her or reach out for her.
Their friendship/relationship came to a complete halt...
For a full two days.
"Good afternoon!"
Minjeong's breath hitched at the familiar voice. It was Saturday. Why was she hearing this voice on a Saturday?
The short-haired girl looked up from her phone, and her eyes found Y/N standing there in her family's restaurant.
Minjeong almost dropped her phone in surprise.
She could feel goosebumps trailing down her arms as she stared at Y/N. The girl stood there waiting, an expectant look on her face, as if she expected her to say something.
Minjeong opened her mouth to speak-she wasn't even sure what-but her mother's voice echoed from the kitchen.
"Minjeong, you have a customer."
The girl swallowed nervously. Her phone went back into the pocket of her coat. She straightened her back and moved from her spot, making her way to where Y/N stood by the counter with her hands stuffed into her pockets.
The moment she came to a stop, a heavy silence fell over them.
Minjeong was sure she saw some bruising on Y/N's cheek and on the corner of the girl's lips.
Still, Y/N smiled gently at her and raised an expectant eyebrow, waiting for her to talk.
The short-haired girl's eyes were drawn to the bruising under Y/N's eye and on her lips. Her fingers twitched before she forced them into stillness.
"What are you doing here?" Her words came out harsher than she had intended.
If Y/N was taken aback by her harshness, she didn't show it. "I'm hungry."
Minjeong couldn't help but scoff. "And you decided to come here?"
Y/N stopped, looking around the place.
It was a restaurant, wasn't it?
"Is that okay?"
Minjeong's eyes narrowed, unsure whether Y/N was trying to mess with her head.
"There are other restaurants, you kn-"
A slap was delivered to the back of Minjeong's head. Her mouth fell open, and she turned to find her mother glaring at her. "Minjeong, why are you denying service to such a-"
The older woman turned to look at Y/N, and the latter put her most charming smile on display.
"-pretty customer?"
Minjeong's frown deepened as she watched her mother fall for Y/N's charm.
It was ridiculous.
Her eyes turned back to Y/N, who was looking at her with a hopeful gaze.
Minjeong clenched her jaw against the wave of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her again. "What do you want to eat?"
Another slap. "Let her sit and get accommodated first," her mother hissed, turning to Y/N with a wide smile. "Sit wherever you want, sweetie. Minjeong will be with you shortly."
Y/N bowed her head thankfully, smile still there. "Thank you, Ma'am. It's a pleasure to finally meet Minjeong's mom."
The woman was surprised. "Oh, you two know each other?"
Minjeong opened her mouth to disagree, but Y/N beat her to it. "I'm courting your daughter. I was actually hoping to get your blessing."
She's what-?
Minjeong's face flushed with embarrassment, and all she could do was stare, mouth half-open.
Her mother didn't notice. Her eyes were wide, cheeks tinged pink as she looked at the beautiful girl in front of her.
"Oh, really?" Her mother glanced between them, her expression growing giddy. "Yes, of course, sweetie. Minjeong is a lovely girl-she can just be a little grouchy sometimes."
Minjeong's hands clenched into fists at the look on her mother's face.
Of course, she was completely smitten.
Her mother had always harbored an adoration for the wealthy and powerful, especially when it came to Minjeong's future partner. It was something Minjeong had grown used to, but it never failed to leave a bitter taste in her mouth.
Her mother ushered Y/N toward a booth and then turned back to her. "I knew sending you to that school was a good idea! Why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone?!"
Minjeong resisted the urge to roll her eyes as her mother gripped her arms, giddy beyond reason.
"I'm not seeing anyone. Y/N is an awf-"
Her mother cut her off, nudging her toward the booth. "I like her! Don't leave her waiting, come on!"
Minjeong gritted her teeth but gave in.
Her mom beamed as she walked away, completely oblivious to the storm of emotions brewing in her daughter's chest.
Minjeong reached Y/N's table and forced herself to take a deep breath.
Y/N's eyes followed her every step, watching her closely, completely entranced. She couldn't stop the small smile tugging at her lips.
"What do you want to eat?" Minjeong asked again, gritting her teeth against the urge to throw this girl out of her family's restaurant.
Y/N snapped out of her reverie, eyes widening as she cleared her throat.
This was a restaurant of what, exactly?
"I-uhh-" She looked around, trying to see what the other customers were eating, but she couldn't make anything out. "What-what do you have?"
Minjeong's eye twitched. The menu was right in front of her. Y/N was just too busy staring to notice.
Forcing herself to stay calm, Minjeong pointed at the stupid thing, her jaw clenching as the taller girl leaned in to look.
She could see her mom eyeing them from across the room, not being discreet in the slightest.
Minjeong wanted to be six feet under.
Y/N skimmed through the menu, eyes moving quickly over the selection.
"I think I'll have the dwaeji gukbap."
Minjeong nodded, ready to grab the menu and leave, but Y/N wasn't done.
"Also, the milmyeon, godeungeo-gui, agujjim, and eomuk, please. Oh! And can I get the dongnae pajeon and the guljeon?"
Minjeong rolled her eyes and yanked the menu away before Y/N could order anything else.
"What are you doing?"
Y/N looked confused. "I was... ordering."
Minjeong wanted to slap her. Again.
"What, you couldn't personally shower me in your money anymore, so you came to do that at my family's restaurant? Can't you be a decent person for once in your life and just leave me the fuck alone?"
Y/N just smiled. "Dinner's on me tonight. My parents are in town, and they brought a few friends over."
Minjeong clenched her jaw.
She hated how unbothered Y/N looked, how effortlessly she wormed her way into her life again.
If she had any shame, she'd just go home.
But no. She was there, flashing her money and privilege like always, getting exactly what she wanted.
Minjeong wanted to deny her service-kick her out, ban her from ever stepping foot inside again.
But the amount of food Y/N had just ordered... meant rent was covered for the month.
Minjeong hated her. More and more.
She was about to make that very clear when Y/N suddenly stood up and bowed, looking past her shoulder.
Minjeong turned to see her father approaching with a warm smile.
"Oh, fuck me."
Her father wiped his hands on the black apron tied around his waist as he reached their table. Slowly, almost carefully, he extended his hand for Y/N to shake.
"My wife told me to come meet my daughter's girlfriend."
Minjeong wanted to die.
"Hopefully in the future, sir." Y/N chuckled softly-a sound that tickled Minjeong's brain just right. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
She reached out, clasping his hand with practiced ease, bowing just enough to be respectful.
She just had to be perfect at everything, didn't she?
Minjeong's father was immediately taken in by her manners, her gentle touch.
Minjeong wanted to scream.
She wanted to tell him about the lies.
She wanted to tell him about the secrets hiding behind that polite, practiced smile.
But she couldn't.
The amount of money Y/N was about to spend-the dinner her parents and their friends were about to have-would keep her family afloat for another month.
And Minjeong couldn't take that away from her parents.
It all felt like a cruel game.
Her chest tightened as she watched her father and Y/N exchange a few words. His eyes gleamed with admiration as he looked at Y/N, and Minjeong felt the sudden urge to throw up.
She kept her gaze fixed on the table, doing her best to block out the conversation.
Once her father left-after shooting her an approving nod-Y/N sat back down, looking entirely too satisfied with herself.
"You're a manipulative liar," Minjeong tried again, her voice firmer this time.
Y/N didn't budge. "A manipulative liar who's in love."
Minjeong's jaw clenched at the words.
In love?
The audacity of this girl to even say that.
Her fingers curled into fists.
How could one person be so infuriating?
She turned sharply, stalking back to the counter to put the order into the register-only to catch her mother watching their every move, a pleased smile on her face.
That was it.
As soon as her shift was over, Minjeong was going to off herself.
Meanwhile, Y/N simply watched her go, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. Her heart pounded in her chest.
Why was it so easy to get under Minjeong's skin?
She dragged out her time at the restaurant as much as she could.
As long as she was there, she was fine.
She got to see Minjeong. She got to talk to Minjeong's lovely parents. She got to not be at home with her parents.
It was perfect.
Unfortunately, Mr. Kim had other plans. He worked as quickly as possible, insisting that Y/N and her parents shouldn't have to wait long for their food.
So, far too soon, Y/N found herself stepping back inside her house, dinner in hand.
"What took you so long?" her father asked from the living room, seated among his colleagues.
"I was quick." She replied shortly, carrying the bags into the kitchen.
Grabbing a plate for herself, she made her way upstairs, wanting nothing to do with the circus unfolding downstairs.
The following days were the same.
Y/N would come, order a ridiculous amount of food, and leave-only to come back again the next day.
Minjeong's parents were absolutely thrilled by her presence.
And Minjeong?
Minjeong hated it.
The anger, the frustration, the sheer distaste burned through her chest every time Y/N walked through that door.
But after two weeks of the same thing, the fight had drained out of her.
She didn't yell. She didn't snap. She didn't even glare anymore.
She merely stood behind the counter, arms crossed, waiting while Y/N placed her order.
"Food will take around thirty minutes to prepare. You can sit while you wait." Minjeong's voice came out flat, her expression unreadable as she turned away.
She walked to the kitchen, relaying the order to her father.
"She here yet?" he asked with a grin.
Minjeong let out a slow, controlled breath, doing everything she could to hold onto what little patience she had left.
"She's here," she muttered through gritted teeth.
Her father's smile widened. "Good! Take care of her for me."
Minjeong's mother perked up from where she was wiping down the counter, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"Let me go say hi to her."
Ten minutes later, when Minjeong stepped out of the kitchen, she nearly dropped the tray she was holding.
There, sitting comfortably at one of the booths, was her mother. And across from her, whipping the tables, was Y/N.
Minjeong froze.
Y/N-cleaning?
Her mother sat there like she hadn't just handed off one of her responsibilities to a paying customer, chatting away with a warm smile on her face.
Minjeong's fingers twitched against the tray.
What the hell was going on?
She stormed over, trying not to trip over her own frustration. "What are you doing?"
Y/N looked up, unbothered, a rag in one hand and a spray bottle in the other. "Helping."
Minjeong turned to her mother, expecting an explanation, but the older woman only beamed. "Such a sweet girl," her mom sighed dreamily. "She insisted, Minjeong! Said she wanted to help out since she's always here."
Minjeong clenched her jaw, forcing herself to stay calm.
This was ridiculous.
She hated it.
She hated how easily Y/N charmed her parents.
She hated that Y/N was still here-in her space, in her life.
She hated that a small, stupid, buried part of her chest felt warm at the sight of Y/N helping out.
She exhaled sharply, shoving the thought away.
"Go sit down," she snapped, yanking the spray bottle from Y/N's hand.
Y/N grinned. "You're worried about me?"
"I'm worried about my restaurant looking like a joke," Minjeong shot back.
Her mother gasped. "Minjeong! Don't be rude!"
But Y/N just laughed, wiping her hands on her pants. "I'm just waiting for my food," she said casually. "Might as well make myself useful."
Minjeong turned away before her mother could see the glare she was sending Y/N's way.
She had to endure this.
At least until Y/N got bored and finally, finally left her alone.
Easier said than done.
Y/N was persistent.
At school, it had been fine. They didn't have every class together, and Minjeong could simply ignore her when she approached. But now Y/N was at her restaurant, invading her space, and it was getting to be too much.
The frustration built and built, day after day, until it finally snapped. It happened in gym class.
The basketball ball hit Y/N's cheek with a loud smack, and she went down.
Hard.
The gym fell silent.
Minjeong's eyes widened in shock, regret washing over her.
It wasn't a light hit. It was a ball thrown with strength, purpose, and precision.
Y/N didn't even remember hitting the ground-just opening her eyes to see the teacher and several classmates hovering over her.
Fuck.
Minjeong looked around as the commotion grew. The coach knelt beside Y/N, checking on her, while the rest of the class murmured among themselves.
Her gaze met Aeri's and Chaewon's, who just so happened to be in that class as well. Their jaws were slack as they looked between her and their best friend.
Chaewon was never known for having the best temper. So it wasn't a surprise when she stormed over, shoving Minjeong back with enough force to make her stumble.
"What the fuck is your problem?!"
Chaewon's voice echoed through the gym, filled with unrestrained fury.
"Stop it, Chae." Aeri tried to intervene, wrapping an arm around Chaewon's waist to keep her from doing something she'd regret. She was angry too-they both were-but getting Chaewon expelled wouldn't help anyone.
Minjeong's head snapped toward them, her mouth opening to respond, but no sound came out.
Her eyes darted back to the group surrounding Y/N. Her stomach churned at the way everyone was looking at her-at the frowns on familiar faces, at the unspoken accusations in their stares.
"Girls, that's enough."
The teacher's voice cut through the tension as he knelt beside Y/N, helping her sit up.
"Chaewon, Aeri, take Y/N to the infirmary. Minjeong, stay behind after class. Everyone else, disperse! Class isn't over for another fifteen minutes!"
Minjeong's heart sank.
She had never gotten detention before.
And now, because she let her emotions take control, she had made a fool of herself in front of everyone.
She stood frozen, watching as Chaewon and Aeri carefully helped Y/N off the ground. Even from a distance, she swore she could see the glares they both sent her.
Detention it was.
Minjeong tried to see the bright side of things.
At least now, Y/N hated her. She would finally leave her alone. She would stop showing up at the resta-
Minjeong blinked.
There she stood, in front of the counter, completely soaked.
There was a storm outside. The restaurant was practically empty.
What the hell was Y/N doing there?
"Hi." The taller girl let out, the corner of her bruised lips tilting into a soft smile.
A loud crash of thunder boomed in the background, and heavy rain pelted against the windows.
But Minjeong wasn't paying attention to the storm. Her focus was solely on Y/N. On the dark purple bruise marring her left cheek-a clear, undeniable reminder of what had happened just a day ago.
And yet, she had the audacity to smile at her.
Minjeong didn't know how to respond. Thankfully, she didn't have to. A loud gasp surged from behind her, and she stiffened as her mother rushed forward.
"What happened to you?" Minjeong tensed as her mother gently cupped Y/N's face in her hands, tilting it up to assess the damage. She expected Y/N to back away, to flinch under her mother's touch. But she didn't. She just stood there, smiling, like a complete fool.
"It's been raining so much these days," Y/N said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world. "I slipped and fell."
Minjeong's breath caught in her throat.
Did she just lie?
Y/N could have easily exposed her.
She could have ruined her right then and there, could have held it over her head like a trophy.
Minjeong had expected her to lash out, to finally snap and make her life miserable.
But she didn't.
She just stood there, soaking wet, a bruise on her face, and a stupid smile lingering on her lips.
Why?
Minjeong already knew her secret. She knew who Y/N really was and why she had approached her on that first day. She knew how rotten Y/N and her intentions were.
So why?
"You're completely soaked too."
Minjeong's mother turned toward her. "Minjeong, get her a towel and an ice pack, please."
Minjeong froze.
Her mother turned back to Y/N and ushered her toward a table. "You need to take care of yourself! Look at that pretty face of yours! And what if you get sick?"
Y/N chuckled lightly. "I'll be fine, Miss Kim. I was more worried about you, though. How's your leg?"
Minjeong stiffened.
Her mother had injured herself years ago-she had slipped during a storm, just like this one, and broken her leg. Even now, on cold nights, the pain lingered.
But how the hell did Y/N know about that?
Why did she care?
Minjeong's heart fluttered, just for a second. She gulped, pushing away the feeling, and stepped away to grab the towel and ice pack.
Her fingers gripped the fabric tightly as she glanced back at Y/N, who was still sitting, listening intently to her mother.
A nagging thought scratched at the back of Minjeong's mind, urging her to give in to this strange, persistent kindness.
She shoved it away.
"Here," Minjeong muttered, placing the towel beside Y/N and setting the ice pack down on the table.
She turned to leave- a hand wrapped around her wrist.
Minjeong's breath hitched. She looked down, expecting Y/N, but it was her mother.
"Hold the ice up for her, will you? I'm going to get her some soup to warm up."
Minjeong's jaw nearly dropped.
She could not believe what she was hearing.
It was pure karma.
She opened her mouth to protest, but her mother was already walking off toward the kitchen, leaving her alone.
With her.
Minjeong turned back to Y/N, who was still sitting, head tilted slightly, studying her with that same infuriating curiosity.
She sighed and reached for the ice pack.
A soft chuckle stopped her.
Minjeong's gaze flickered up.
Y/N was smiling-lips curled just slightly, dimples barely visible. She pulled the towel from her shoulders, setting it aside.
The sound of rain against the windows filled the silence between them.
"You don't have to do that," Y/N said, voice softer than usual.
Minjeong frowned.
"Just keep me company for a little while, please. I miss talking to you."
Minjeong felt it again. That stupid flutter in her chest.
Y/N had to be faking it. She had to. But the look in her eyes-
It wasn't the same glimmer she gave her friends, the playful twinkle that Minjeong had grown used to seeing.
This was different. It was softer. Gentler.
Minjeong swallowed, pressing the ice pack against Y/N's bruised cheek.
Y/N winced slightly at the cold but didn't move away. Instead, she smiled, shifting slightly to make space beside her in the booth.
Minjeong hesitated. Then, slowly, she sat down. Silence settled between them, but Y/N didn't let it linger."I'm sorry about Chaewon," she said, voice quiet. "She's... protective."
Minjeong tensed. It wasn't like she could disagree.
Chaewon was protective. But she was also right.
Minjeong had hurt her friend.
Her grip tightened slightly on the ice pack as she kept it in place.
"She had every right to be," Minjeong said, her tone cold. "I didn't mean to hit you that hard."
Y/N only smiled, leaning into the touch.
Minjeong's breath caught, her jaw clenched at the closeness.
How could someone she hated be so damn comfortable around her?
Minjeong wanted Y/N to get angry-to yell, to scream.
Not sit there and be friendly.
She clenched her jaw as Y/N smiled, "So you did mean to hit me."
Minjeong couldn't deny it. She stayed silent.
The rain outside filled the quiet that settled between them.
She could hear her mother moving around the kitchen, the clatter of pots and soft humming mixing with the sound of thunder in the distance.
Minjeong wanted to say something-anything. Even an insult would do. But her mind was blank.
The ice pack had started to warm against her fingers. She adjusted it against Y/N's cheek, pressing it gently into place.
"I still don't like you," she huffed, more to fill the silence than anything. "I'm not falling for your lies again."
Y/N exhaled, something unreadable flickering in her eyes.
"I didn't lie about wanting to be your friend. Or liking you," she said softly. "I just... didn't approach you with the right intentions. I'm sorry. My dad-he's not the best person. I barely know him. But I knew that he hurt you. And I wanted to make it better somehow."
Minjeong's throat tightened.
She didn't want to hear that.
She nudged Y/N's shoulder instead, scowling. "Just shut up and keep drying yourself. You're soaking the sofa."
Y/N smiled.
It wasn't much but it was a start and she was patient.
So she kept showing up at the restaurant.
She kept talking to Minjeong at school.
Interaction by interaction.
Brick by brick.
Until, somehow, impossibly-Minjeong let her back in.
Things got better.
So much better, in fact, that on Christmas Eve, Y/N found herself standing in front of Minjeong's house, clutching bags of gifts and food in her hands.
When the door opened, Minjeong just stared.
Her voice caught in her throat, countless thoughts racing through her mind.
"Y/N-what are you doing here?"
Y/N hesitated for only a second before raising the bags slightly, a small, lopsided smile on her face.
"I promised, didn't I?"
Minjeong blinked.
If anyone had told her that Y/N would actually show up, she would've laughed and told them to get their head checked.
She hadn't even expected Y/N to remember. The words had been brushed off as a joke, an empty promise at best.
But she was there.
With food. With gifts.
Minjeong's chest fluttered painfully as she took in the sight of her.
The soft glow of Christmas lights reflected in Y/N's eyes, and the crinkle at the corners of her smile made her stomach twist.
"You're crazy," Minjeong mumbled, before sighing and stepping forward, pulling Y/N into a small hug. "Y/N, you didn't have to."
"It's nothing." Y/N shrugged, stepping inside when Minjeong opened the door wider for her.
And if Minjeong had thought her parents were easily charmed by Y/N, her siblings proved her wrong.
Y/N didn't even have to say anything to win them over.
The moment they saw her step inside, looking like Santa Claus himself with all those gifts, their eyes lit up.
Minjeong watched from the side as her siblings swarmed Y/N with excitement, admiring the gifts all for themselves.
She bit the inside of her cheek to stop a chuckle, but still startled slightly when her mother suddenly gasped.
"YOU CAME!"
Before Y/N could even react, Minjeong's mother had grabbed her arm and dragged her straight to the kitchen. "Come try my kimchi! You like spice, right? I made it extra spicy this year!"
Minjeong couldn't help but soften as she watched her mother pull Y/N into the bustling house, filled with the laughter and chatter of her family.
The sight of her siblings holding their new toys, excitedly showing Y/N their favorite things about the gifts, made her heart swell.
She exhaled, shaking her head as she slowly made her way into the living room.
But even as she sat down, her eyes never left Y/N.
The way she smiled, the way she laughed, the way she fit so effortlessly into her world.
It took a while, but eventually, Y/N stepped back into the living room, her eyes searching for one person and one person only.
Y/N gave her a small smile. "Your family is lovely."
Minjeong stood from the couch, reaching for her hand without thinking. "They keep hogging you," she muttered, tugging her gently" "Let's run away."
Y/N laughed but didn't hesitate to hold Minjeong's hand. She smiled, glancing around as the other girl led her to her bedroom. The house was small, but filled with warmth and comfort. Y/N couldn't help but envy it a little.
"Thank you for all the gifts," Minjeong murmured, closing the door behind them. "You really didn't have to."
The silence was a welcome change, but it didn't last long.
Somehow, they ended up lying on Minjeong's small bed, facing each other, when Y/N reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, wrapped box.
"I didn't know what to get you," she admitted, "I'm sorry."
Minjeong let out a soft laugh, her fingers moving to gently take the box from Y/N's hands.
"You didn't have to get me anything, Y/N. But whatever this is-it's perfect."
The gift was small, wrapped a little messily, but Minjeong didn't care.
She was too focused on the way Y/N was watching her.
Nervously, yet eagerly.
She unwrapped the box, tilting her head when she found a guitar pick inside. It was gorgeous-an ivory color with the initials K.M. engraved on each side.
Minjeong ran her thumb across the engraving, feeling the smoothness of it.
She couldn't believe what she was holding.
"The guitar should be arriving tomorrow."
Minjeong's eyes snapped up at Y/N's words, her grip on the pick tightening.
Her brain barely registered what she just heard.
'The guitar should be arriving tomorrow.'
The words repeated in her head, over and over, as she just stared at Y/N, her mouth slightly open.
A million thoughts, emotions, words-nothing could properly form.
Y/N was crazy.
No-this was insane.
There was no way Y/N actually bought her a guitar.
Just the thought of it made her feel lightheaded.
"Do you like it?" Y/N asked hesitantly.
Minjeong was still staring at the guitar pick in her hands, her mouth hanging slightly open.
"I heard you tell a client you were saving up to buy one," Y/N continued, pulling out her phone and sitting up to show Minjeong a few pictures. "It's this one. I talked to a guy, and he said this one is good for beginners."
Minjeong's breath hitched as she looked at the screen.
The guitar was beautiful.
Glossy black, brand new strings, shining under the store lights.
She swallowed thickly, looking up at Y/N again-who was just watching her, waiting.
Patient.
The gift was expensive and gorgeous and thoughtful.
Minjeong's heart swelled, her chest tightening with an emotion she couldn't name.
So she did the only thing she could.
She threw her arms around Y/N's neck, hugging her tightly.
Y/N froze for a moment at the sudden warmth engulfing her-but then she melted. Her arms instinctively wrapped around Minjeong's waist, pulling her close.
Her heart skipped at the unexpected affection, her cheeks burning.
She closed her eyes and smiled, taking in Minjeong's warmth, the way she felt against her-her scent, her presence.
"I'm glad you like it."
Minjeong couldn't stop herself.
Her grip on Y/N tightened as she buried her face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent.
It was warm.
Comforting.
She sighed, her heart pounding as she closed her eyes.
"I love it."
Her voice was soft, muffled against Y/N's embrace.
She slowly pulled away, her face burning as she looked down at her hands.
"I also got you something," she mumbled, "but it feels useless compared to your gift."
Y/N frowned slightly at that.
Minjeong shouldn't compare gifts. That wasn't what this was about.
Before she could say anything, Minjeong stood up and walked toward her closet, pulling out a small box covered in reindeer-patterned wrapping paper.
Y/N's heart quickened at the sight.
She could see the effort Minjeong had put into wrapping it-the way the corners were neatly tucked, the way a tiny ribbon sat perfectly tied on top.
Her eyes flickered up to Minjeong, who was now holding the gift out for her. She reached over and took it carefully, her fingers running across the smooth wrapping.
The box was light and small in her hands. "Can I open it?"
Minjeong nodded.
Y/N smiled softly, taking her time untying the ribbon, making sure not to tear the paper as she lifted the lid off the box.
Inside, there was a layer of tissue paper.
She gently pulled it back and her breath hitched.
A blue jewelry box sat inside.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she lifted it, flipping the lid open.
Inside, nestled against the soft velvet lining, was a golden necklace.
Y/N carefully picked it up, turning it over in her hands-
-and a small chuckle escaped her lips.
Dangling from the chain was a tiny, detailed basketball ball charm.
She swallowed thickly, her throat tight. It was so simple, yet it meant everything.
"You couldn't help yourself, could you?"
Minjeong smiled as she watched Y/N admiring the present.
Her heart squeezed gently as Y/N laughed and carefully lifted the necklace from the jewelry box.
Minjeong knew her gift was nothing compared to what Y/N had gotten for her. But seeing her like this-her face so soft, eyes full of warmth-made her more than happy.
The two stayed in Minjeong's room for as long as they could.
Which wasn't very long-because soon enough, her siblings and parents were calling them downstairs.
Y/N didn't linger much after that.
Christmas was about family, after all. The last thing she wanted to do was overstep.
So, despite Minjeong's mother asking her to stay for the twentieth time, she gently refused, saying she needed to get home before the snow started falling.
Minjeong walked her to the door, feeling a little sad to see her leave but too too shy to ask her to stay.
"Thanks for coming."
Y/N nodded, her chest feeling impossibly full. Minjeong had no idea how much tonight had meant to her.
She leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Minjeong's cheek. "Thanks for having me."
Minjeong felt her breath catch in her lungs.
The touch was gentle. Warm.
The spot where Y/N's lips had been tingled, heat rushing to her face.
Her eyes fluttered shut for a moment, trying to memorize the feeling-burn it into her mind.
But before she could process it, Y/N was already pulling away.
"Drive safely," Minjeong managed, her voice barely above a whisper.
Y/N smiled at her one last time before stepping out into the cold, pulling on her jacket.
Minjeong stayed by the doorway, watching as she got into her car.
And only when the car finally disappeared down the street did she allow herself to breathe again.
Time went on and Christmas break soon ended. Y/N was ecstatic to return to school after the break.
She couldn't wait to see Minjeong again.
As she walked through the hallways with her friends, there was an extra bounce in her step, a lightness in her chest.
They made their way outside for lunch, hoping the sun would warm them up.
"I don't know, I still don't like her."
Y/N paused mid-step at Chaewon's grumble.
She quickly exchanged an exasperated glance with Niki and Aeri before sighing. "Give it a rest, Chaewon."
"Give it a rest?" Chaewon scoffed. "Did you see the way she threw that ball at you, Y/N? That girl is dangerous, I'm telling you! What if she gets angry and throws another ball at you? It's psychotic. You were knocked out!"
Y/N shrugged, thanking Niki as he held the door open for her.
They stepped out into the school's wide garden, where the winter sun was shining brightly.
"She's got a strong personality, so what?" Y/N said easily. "Plus, she didn't mean to hit me that hard. And-" she grinned, holding up the charm hanging from her neck, "-she got me a necklace for Christmas!"
Chaewon snorted at that.
"A strong personality? She sounds like a psycho to me."
They reached an empty bench, settling into the sunlight.
Aeri gently nudged Y/N. "Just ignore her. She's just petty she's single."
Chaewon went on to argue that, but Y/N didn't mind them.
She knew her friend was just being protective-and she was thankful for that.
But at the same time, she was sure of one thing.
"Chae, Minjeong would never do anything to hurt me again. Trust me, she's-"
The words died in Y/N's throat.
Her chest tightened, breath catching as her gaze landed on a new sight.
It felt like the air had been stolen from her lungs.
Minjeong was leaning against a tree-not too far away.
And standing in front of her, with one hand gently placed on her waist and the other tangled in her hair, was Jimin.
Y/N watched, frozen in place, as Jimin tilted her head down and kissed Minjeong.
Minjeong tilted her head up to meet her, their lips pressing softly together.
Y/N could see everything, the way Jimin pulled away gently, the way Minjeong's lips curved slightly in response.
Her heart plummeted into her stomach.
The world around her blurred, sounds faded into nothing-her ears were ringing, her pulse pounding in her head.
She hadn't even realized that she'd stopped breathing.
Her lungs screamed for air but she couldn't breathe in.
For a split second, the urge to step forward burned inside her. To pull them apart. To rip Jimin's hand away from Minjeong.
But time had frozen around her.
And in that moment, Y/N was done.

BUBBLE, BUBBLE, MOON'S IN TROUBLE

A commission for @semidemi-minigod !! In which you give Moon a bath. But from Moon's POV.
It was difficult to say when it all started.
When he’d allowed himself to become so complacent. So vulnerable.
It wasn’t an entirely pleasant feeling. But you made it easier. Somehow.
Even now, when all he wanted was to slink away into the dark, far away from your pleading eyes and pursed lips.
“Come on, Moon. Please? You can look at it all if you want to. I won’t stop you. It’s really good stuff. Like, expensive stuff.”
You moved around the cleaning cart, picking up and brandishing several different items in his direction, with all the nervous excitement of a salesman trying to land a deal.
His eyes moved over each object laid out, atop the cart’s surface. Towels, fluffy and white. Bottles of cleaning solutions. Metal polish. Different kinds of scrub brushes. A few toothbrushes…?
He didn’t recognize any of the brands, which meant that they came from outside the Pizzaplex.
“…You bought these?” Cautiously, he picked up one of the little canisters and held it between his thumb and forefinger, turning the balm canister round-and-round like it was an oversized coin.
Polish cream. The fancy aluminum tin flashed under the dim lights, like the spark of a distant star.
“Yeah, I got them all from a hardware place that was nearby.” You smiled, hands roving over the assortment to grasp one of the smaller hand towels. His head tilted a bit when you held it out to him, a lopsided smile gracing your flushed cheeks.
“Feel these! I swear, I have never felt towels as soft as these.”
Curiosity burning, Moon placed the polish back down and reached for the towel. He fingered the soft, fluffy fabric in a bit of awe. It was much nicer than the old, tattered rags they had stashed away in the Daycare. Cleaner, too.
“They’re Egyptian cotton.” Your grin grew wider. “I got you a couple of sets, so you can keep some in storage for when they each get worn out.”
“…Keep?”
“Well…yeah! I mean, they’re yours now.” You gestured at the whole of the collection. “All of this is. I mean, I can keep it if you don’t have any room. But this is all for you. You and Sun, I mean. Obviously.”
He looked back and forth between you and the cleaning cart, utterly bewildered.
And, more than that, suspicious.
“Why?”
He watched your expression twist into bemusement, before you sighed dramatically and rolled your eyes.
“Because I can.”
“What if we…don’t want it?” He couldn’t stop the hint of amusement that crept into his voice. Even if there was a little bit of truth to it. It felt…wrong to accept this.
You just pursed your lips, brows raising so high they nearly touched your hairline.
“Well, that’s too bad. Cause I already bought it, and the store won’t let me return it. Which means either you take it, or I’ll just throw it all away.”
He grunted, looking back over the collection.
“Liar-liar, pants on fire.”
“Nope!” You popped the “p,” giving him a little half-shrug. “I’ve got the receipt, and it says no refunds allowed. You wanna see it? I’ll show it to you.”
Moon grunted again, tapping his fingers rhythmically against his chin and cheek.
To take it…or not…
It would be a shame to let it all go to waste.
But! But. He had one more question to ask you.
“Why me? Why not Sun?”
He can’t help but spit the name with a bit of venom. Out of the two of them, wouldn’t Sun be the easier target? Easier to work with. Easier to talk to. A better fit.
Better…in every way.
The look you give him is hard to place. It’s not hurt, not pity…a little frustrated.
A little sad.
“Do you not…trust me?”
There it is again: that feeling of wanting to hide away. A little tickle of guilt burning through his wires and sliding between his gears. He didn’t like it when you looked at him like that.
“No.”
“No, you don’t trust me? Or no, you don’t not trust me?”
“…No.”
You sighed, pulling off the bear-eared cap on your head to run a hand through your already messy hair.
“Alright. Alright…I won’t force you to do it. I just…” You looked down at the cart, eyes misty and lip quivering a bit. Like you were trying not to cry. “I wanted to spend time with you.”
And like that, he feels something in him melt.
“Fine.” He folded his arms over his chest, as if they’d serve as any sort of defense. He hates the way his whole-body tickles with heat when the sadness on your face melts away into relief.
Because it’s unfamiliar. Different.
He knows for a fact that what he’s feeling is something that he’s not supposed to be able to feel.
And yet, you make him feel it.
And that frightens him.
“Make it fast.”
Guilt is there again, gnawing at his insides when you reach up to quickly wipe the rim of your eyes clear, a breathy laugh bubbling up from somewhere inside you. Just like that, you’re so happy.
“Alright! Okay. Okay. Um, I’ll start with the—I mean, what do you want me to start with? I’ve got all this stuff, and I didn’t even think about it. God, where do I start?”
Moon watches you flit around the cart, hands moving over each object in a frenzy. You finally look up after a moment, going still.
“Sorry. Just. Give me a second, I swear I know what I’m doing.” Your eyes move to the floor, like you’re searching for something. “Do you want to sit down?”
Silently, Moon reached behind him, grasping one of the small child-sized chairs, and pulled it out to sit on without breaking eye contact.
“Okay.” You chuckled, a rag in one hand, a bottle of cleaning solution in the other. He could feel the hesitancy in your movements as you approached, like you were afraid he’d bolt at any second. “I promise I’ll be gentle.”
For a moment, you hesitated, as if trying to decide where and how to get started. Moon simply sat still, watching your hands and eyes shift from his face to his arms, to his chest, then back up.
“Hang on, I can’t do this kneeling—my back hurts too much for that.”
You grabbed an undersized chair and pulled it up across from him, gently taking one of his arms and spraying a light amount of the solution across it. Moon couldn’t detect any chemicals, but it did smell slightly…fresh?
“This is just water and soap,” you explained, gently running the rag across his forearm, rubbing it between his fingers and over his palm. “To get rid of the surface stains. After that, I’ll use the stronger stuff.”
For a moment, there was a silence that stretched between the two of you. He wasn’t sure if it was comfortable or not but was more than satisfied to simply watch your tiny hands work their way up and down his arm.
You swapped to the other arm, wiping it down gently from hand-to-shoulder, then paused.
“Do you want me to do your chest or back first?”
Your voice was soft, gentle and coaxing.
Moon looked down at his arms, flexing his fingers as he thought for a moment.
“…Back.”
“Alright.”
Carefully, you placed a hand on his shoulder for balance, running the washcloth over his broad back. Moon twitched, an odd tingle rushing through his wires at the sensation of your palm rubbing little circles around the spot where the hook to his line protruded. He tried to ignore it, but you stopped again, having noticed.
“Sorry, is that uncomfortable?”
“No.” He scrambled for an excuse. “…It tickles.”
“Oh.” From the corner of his eye, he could see a tiny smile cross over your face. “I didn’t know you were ticklish.”
“We’re not,” he replied, maybe a little too fast. “Just…sensitive.”
“Sure.” The tone in your voice betrayed that maybe you didn’t entirely believe him, but you didn’t push the issue. He was thankful for that.
The thought of your little hands coasting along his metal body, trying to find vulnerable spots to attack and manipulate—it made his head spin. That was the last thing he needed right now.
Things were quiet again, as you slid the rag over the thin pieces of metal that made up his hinged neck. Anxiety raced through his system as your hand moved dangerously close to the back of his face-plate—where the switch sat.
One wrong move (or maybe, one purposeful move) and he’d be forced into Rest Mode.
“Careful—” Before he could stop himself, his hand flew up, snatching your thin wrist. “Not there.”
“Oh! Sorry, sorry, sorry…” You quickly jerked back, panic flashing in your eyes. “D-Did I hurt you?”
He searched your face for any sign of wrongdoing. Something to latch onto.
He found nothing.
“…No.” Moon finally said after a moment, letting your wrist go. He felt a little bad as he watched you rub it, knowing that he’d probably held on a little too hard. “Just…not there.”
“Okay, I’m sorry.” You scooted around the edge of the chair, rag hovering just below the edge of his neck ruffles. “I’ll start on your chest now, okay?”
He didn’t say anything but leaned his head back to give you more room. That, and to keep from having to watch you run the cloth over the expanse of his chassis. Just the feeling of it was enough to have him balling his hands tight into fists at his sides.
There was so much intimacy in the action, as simple an action it was. Your face was so close, eyes squinted as you scrubbed at the stains splattered across his metal body. Sticky hands, paint, glue, dirt, grime—there was no telling what made up the mass of it all. But the feeling of it being wiped away was a very pleasant one.
He felt lighter, almost. Like the weight of the stains were being peeled off him.
You were extremely gentle when your hands moved down to his waist, one holding him slightly in place, the other moving the cloth down his sides and across his stomach.
Moon squirmed again. If he’d had a stomach, it would have been fluttering. Full of butterflies.
“Sorry, I’m almost done.” You breathed softly, looking up at him from beneath your lashes.
“It’s fine.” He lied.
A few more moments later, you finally leaned back, and Moon felt like he could breathe again. Not that he’d ever needed to in the first place. But whatever pressure had been hanging over his head was finally lifted away, if only momentarily.
You pulled out another bottle, gently drenching a small scrub brush across its surface with the oddly colored liquid. It smelled very strongly of disinfectant, and he flinched a little.
“This is the strong stuff.” You explained, offering him an apologetic smile. “It’ll get rid of the tougher stains—you don’t have a lot of them, so this part should be quick. I’ll try not to go too hard with it.”
“Do what you need to. We won’t run.”
This part of the cleaning process wasn’t quite as pleasant as the rag and soap. But you had been true to your word—your touch was gentle. Maybe too gentle.
“Harder.” He urged, after a while of watching you scrub at his arms. “We don’t have all night.”
You blew a few stray hairs out of your face. “I don’t know how you got this dirty. When was your last bath?”
He…couldn’t remember. So, he didn’t say anything at all.
You paused to glance up at him, but after it was apparent that you weren’t going to get a response, you turned back to scrubbing.
The bristles of the brush felt…strange, against his metal skin. Not painful. Just uncomfortable. It made him want to push your hand away, but he stopped short of doing so. You were just trying to help, and it wouldn’t do either of you good for him to make this difficult.
So, like a child sitting through a well-needed (but unwanted) haircut, he forced himself to simply sit there, squirming every so often.
“I really appreciate you letting me do this for you.” You finally said, your voice cutting through the silence. “I wish I could do something about the stains on your pants, but you probably wouldn’t want me to, uh…”
Your hands moved through the air, making vague gestures, before you just gave up and offered him a little half-shrug. “Mess with those.”
Moon had to think about it for a moment. “I wouldn’t mind.”
Once more, you paused, blinking rapidly. “What? Oh, uh—I was just joking!”
A spark of mischief fluttered in his chest. Your cheeks were flushing, the rosy color reaching all the way up to the tips of your ears. You couldn’t look at him suddenly, and his internals picked up a rapid jump in heart rate.
“Nervous?” A giggle bubbled up from somewhere deep inside him, and he clicked his invisible tongue, wagging a finger in your face. “Naughty thing.”
The color on your face deepened to a shade that rivaled the ruby glow of his eyes.
“No! I mean—that’s not what I meant. Just—I just—” Your lips set in a thin line, breath coming quick and heavy.
“Want me to take them off?”
“What?”
He giggled again, quite enjoying the way your voice cracked.
“My…” His hands hovered for a moment, just above the hem of his pants. Then, he flipped them upwards, as if offering you his wrists. “Ribbons.”
Your face was so red that he wondered if you could even breathe properly. Your heart was practically leaping out of your chest. Seeing you all flustered made that bouncy, electric feeling inside him tingle and spark.
For a moment, you just glared at him, shaking the scrub brush like you were considering smacking him with it. Then, you sucked in a breath, pinched the bridge of your nose, and slowly let it out again, lowering your would-be weapon.
“I hate you.”
He snickered again, reaching out a single finger to gently tap the tip of your nose. “Liar.”
You love me.
The words were caught in his nonexistent throat. He could say it, to push your buttons even further, but something held him back. Hesitation.
He wasn’t…quite ready to push it that far, yet.
You sighed dramatically, placing the scrub brush aside, only to reach for one of the toothbrushes he’d seen earlier.
“Are we playing dentist?”
“You’re half right.” Amusement sparkled in your eyes. “This is for, like, getting into the tiny places. The seams between your fingers and stuff. I’ll be using it on your face, too, so…”
“You came prepared.”
You grinned. “I told you I did.”
“All this for little old me?” He struck a bashful pose.
“Yes, you absolute goober. Now hold still…”
The feeling of the toothbrush sliding into his seams was much more pleasant than the scrub-brush. It still tickled, enough to make him twitch now and then, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
You were so gentle with the motions, making sure to get every nook and cranny that you could work the bristles into. Moon was a little shocked to see just how much grime the brush was picking up, but then again—it had been a very long time since they’d gotten any sort of attention in the “appearances” department.
Every time you swapped to a new area, you dip the brush into a small container of cleaner, swirling it around and wiping away the dirt from the surface of the bristles. But even with such meticulous attention to detail, it didn’t take long for it to become too dirty to keep using.
You ran through at least three brushes before you stopped to take a break.
“Seriously, how the hell did you guys get so dirty?”
Moon could only shrug. There were several components that contributed to their current state, but the biggest offender was plain out negligence.
You sighed and shook your head, grabbing a thermos from behind the stack of bottles and tipping it back. His eyes followed the movement of your throat every time you swallowed—a strange voyeuristic feeling.
A rivulet of water dripped from the corner of your mouth, rolling down your chin, then your throat, then over the dip of your clavicle and down beneath the collar of your shirt…he tore his gaze away. Focused on flexing his hands in his lap, then folded them together and squeezed, one foot tap-tap-tapping away, anxiously.
“Phew! God, I’m sweating like crazy. Is it okay if I take this off?” You fingered the neckline of your shirt with one hand, using the other to fan yourself with your hat.
He really wanted to say no. Because that would make him feel weirder.
But he couldn’t, when you looked at him like that. So earnest and innocent.
Moon nodded silently, looking away once more when you reached for the buttons. It felt…wrong, to watch you undo them. The sound of fabric rustling had his foot tapping just a bit faster.
“Okay! I’m good now.” You stretched your arms up above your head with a little moan. “God, that’s so much better.”
Moon found it hard to look at you directly, now that you were sitting there in a tank top. It wasn’t anything salacious, it was just. So intimate. There was so much more visible skin now, and his eyes kept moving over the muscles in your arms, across the curve of your abdomen…
The shape of your body was so much clearer now, and that made him feel…almost shy.
“Alright, last up is your face. I’m gonna have to get a little bit closer—is that okay?”
That was not okay. His system was on high alert.
But what was he supposed to say? You’d already gone this far, he couldn’t just say no. Despite really, really wanting to.
For a moment he felt the gears in his head grinding, a substitution for the teeth and jaw he lacked. The tension in his body felt like a rubber band pulled too tight, seconds away from snapping. It got worse when he forced himself to nod, only able to muster up a little grunt of affirmation.
“Alright. I’ll be careful, I promise.”
It wasn’t that he didn’t trust you. He did.
This was just. Too close.
You slid off the children’s chair, half-kneeling with one of your legs on the ground, a knee between his legs to balance yourself.
Too close. It was too close.
You reached up, rag in hand. Your fingers gently cupped the side of his face, feather-light touch sending sparks through his body.
Too. Close.
He felt his whole body go stiff as you pressed the soapy rag to his cheek.
Carefully, you moved it up to his forehead, then down to his chin. Warmth trailed down the metal of his face, burning in the wake of your touch. So hot that he almost couldn’t stand it.
Your eyes moved over his face as you swapped sides, smoothing down the crescent curve of his nose so delicately that it tickled. If he’d had the ability to sneeze, he probably would have.
“Sorry.” Your teeth dug lightly into your lower lip. “I know this is a lot. You’re doing a great job, Moonie.”
That did not help his situation at all.
Your praise struck him like a bolt of lightning, and he clenched his fists so tightly in his lap that he felt his metal knuckles pop.
“I really appreciate you letting me do this for you. I really, really care about you.” You paused to suck in a little breath. “I mean that.”
He could barely hear what you were saying. It was like static was buzzing in his ears, growing louder by the moment. All he could do was focus on the shape of your lips as they formed around each word.
“I…” The words refused to come out, caught in his nonexistent throat.
“It’s alright.” You laughed a little, placing the rag aside and reaching for the final toothbrush. “You don’t have to force yourself. I’m almost done.”
That wasn’t it.
You were just so close. The warmth of your body, your smell, the shape of you…it was suffocating him. If he leaned in, just a little bit more, he’d be able to wrap his arms around you, to feel the softness of your skin against his—
The abrupt tickle of the toothbrush rubbing against the seam in his faceplate made him jerk back.
“Sorry! Sorry.” You scoot forward, the hand on his cheek holding him in place a bit more firmly. “I’m almost done.”
Your body heat is suddenly all around him, then. You’re leaning up in his lap, both knees on the chair, straddling his leg. He can catch the scent of shampoo on your hair, scented lotion on your skin. He could count every lash framing your eyes. Feel the heat of your breath on his teeth—
His hands hover in the air, fingers twitching sporadically, just inches away from gripping you by the waist.
He wants to tell you to back up. But his invisible tongue is tied in knots.
He can’t stop looking at your face. Staring at you, as you maneuver the brush into the little dots lining his crescent-sloped nose.
“You have the cutest freckles.” You say, your lips turning up at the corners.
His body makes a strange noise. A low, grinding metallic sound that could be as much a growl as it could a whine.
That’s all the warning you get before he leans in, gripping you tight by the shoulders, and all but mashes his face against yours in a pathetic facsimile of a kiss.
It lasts for only a few seconds, but those seconds feel like an eternity. The softness of your lips against his hard, unyielding smile has his processor running at full tilt, fans blasting at full force inside of his chest, trying to chase off a heat that threatens to melt his insides into a gooey mess.
He was brought back to reality, then, as his brain caught up to his body.
Moon leaned back, shame burning through him. He slowly unfurled his hands from your shoulders, bringing them up to cover his face.
Why had he done that?
“M-Moon, I—what—”
Your voice is so small, trembling, and that just makes it so much worse.
“No, no.” He rasped, clawing at his cheeks. You stumbled back as he scrambled out of the chair, knocking it over in his haste to put distance between the two of you. “Against the rules. It’s wrong. Shouldn’t have done that. No, no, no—”
“Moon, stop.”
“Sorry, sorry, I’m sorry. Shouldn’t have done that. Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid—” Everything was spiraling. The gears inside his head grind so hard that it hurts.
He had you. He had something good. And he ruined it.
Sun was right. He ruined everything.
He always ruined everything good.
“Moon, stop!” Your fingers twine through his own, trying to pry his hands from his face. He can hear the panic in your voice. “Stop, you’re going to hurt yourself!”
“This is bad. This is wrong. It’s wrong.” He wanted to hide. He wanted to crawl into the dark, curl up in the shadows, and stay there forever. Away from you. Away from the good thing that he ruined. His fingers try to find purchase on something, anything, to grab and pull and break. “Wrong, wrong, wrong—”
“Moon…!”
He feels your fingers curl in the thin fabric of his neck ruffles—and then you yank.
The kiss is clumsy, teeth clicking against teeth as your lips smash against his plastic smile.
Everything in him screeches to a violent, almost painful halt. You’re kissing him.
And you keep kissing him.
Every kiss is hard and passionate, lips moving across his face as far as you can get to, standing on your tiptoes. He feels you stumble a little as you lean up into him, and his hands instinctively land on your waist to help you keep your balance.
“Wait, we can’t—”
“Sit.” You command.
He sits, following your will like the loyal, obedient dog that he is. He can see the chair he knocked over in front of him, sitting in what was your seat, but that view is quickly blocked when you climb into his lap. Your hands are trembling as they cup the sides of his face.
For a moment, your mouth opens and closes. Your brow furrows. You look like you want to say something, but no words come out.
So instead, you lean in and kiss him again.
And he lets you. He holds your tiny waist in his hands and leans into your touch, allowing the chaos filling his mind to simply melt away as you pepper kisses across his face.
Cheeks, nose, forehead, smile, eyebrows, chin. Back and forth and up and down and over and over—every kiss has his head spinning.
One of his large, metal hands come up to cradle the back of your head, urging you even closer. His fingers thread tenderly through your hair. Amongst the chaos, your hat is knocked free, falling to the wayside.
The heat of your body burns so hot through the thin fabric of your tank-top, and with the other hand, he gently squeezes the flesh of your side. A part of him wants to slide his fingers lower, to dip his hand beneath the shirt to feel the soft skin beneath.
It’s hot, it’s hot, it’s so hot he can’t stand it—
But then he feels your tongue slide across the thin curve of his lower lip, and he jerks back in shock. The thin line of saliva connecting your lips to his snaps.
“I, uh—ha..ha-ha…” You laugh a little as you rush to stand, quickly reaching up to wipe the drool from your mouth. Your lips are bruised red and a little puffy, cheeks flushed a pretty pink color. “Sorry, I-I got a little…uh, carried away.”
“Naughty.” Moon purrs, wagging a finger at you playfully. “Naughty boy.”
He feels so light and…and happy. That’s the only way he can put the bubbly, buzzy, excited feeling running all through his body. He’s happy.
“Was that…was that okay? That I…did…that?”” You can hardly look at him, eyes darting back-and-forth. He can feel you starting to pull back slightly, and his fingers curl possessively over the curve of your hip, keeping you tethered.
“…Maybe.” He muses, head cocking to the side. “Maybe not.”
“Oh.” Your face falls.
“Maybe you should…do it again.” His head tilted to the other side. “To make sure.”
He can’t help but giggle when obvious relief washes over your face.
“You…” Again, your lips move, not quite forming around words, like whatever you’re trying to say won’t quite come out. You settle with an awkward, lopsided smile. “So, it is okay? That I kissed you?”
Moon nodded, swaying lightly in his seat. “Yes. It’s…okay.”
He really wishes you would do it again.
“Okay. Okay! Good. I-I’m…yeah.” You laugh nervously, your cheeks still stained pink. Your grin stretches from ear-to-ear. Then you look up at him, and your expression morphs into an apologetic smirk.
“Cause now I’ve gotta clean your face off again.”
He stops swaying.
“Ah….” Moon can’t stop the little unhappy grunt that escapes him. He can still feel the sensation of each kiss buzzing against his metal skin. “Do you have to?”
“Yes, Moon, I have to.” You chuckle again, once more reaching for the cleaning supplies. “You can’t walk around with drool all over your face.”
“I’ve done it before.”
You fix him with a look. “You can’t walk around with MY drool all over your face.”
“Boo.” He crossed his arms, slumping back in a dramatic pout. His hat slumped over his face, the bell jingling as it bounced off his nose. “You’re no fun.”
A little whistle of air escapes your nose as you settled the other chair in front of him, scooting forward until your knees were touching. You reach up, gently moving the bell back over the curve of his head and beckoned him forward.
Moon, of course, leans into your hand without hesitation.
And so, you resume where you’d left off, with you gently wiping away the remnants of your improvised make-out session.
“So. Um.” Your voice cracks a little. “Are we, like…I mean. Do you…like…me?”
“Yes.” He says simply.
“No, I mean. Uh.” You suck in a shaky breath, still struggling to look him in the eye. “Like…like-like. Do you like me. In “that” way? Like—like “that”?”
He’s not sure how he didn’t make that clear. He thought that he had.
But you look like you want to sink into the earth right now, so he can’t help but tease you a little bit.
“Maybe.” Moon crooned, daintily folding his hands between his knees and swaying side-to-side. “Do you like-like me?”
He can hear the breath catch in your throat, and you look away quickly, face flushing an even deeper shade of red.
So very cute.
“Y-Yeah. I do. A lot.” You inhale slowly, forcing your eyes to meet with his. “I-I care about you, a lot, Moon. You’re…you’re my best friend and I…I like you. A lot.”
He stops swaying (again).
“Hm. Good.”
Before you can react, he leans forward to gently bump his smile against your forehead. You, of course, stare at him, wide-eyed and mouth agape.
 “I like you…too.”
For a second, you look like you’re thinking about saying something—and Moon simply giggles when you lean in to kiss him again.
Maybe, if he asks nicely, he can keep this one.

Soft Spot for You
Tumblr media
Summary: Tyler finally gives in to getting a dog with you, and it turns out he's not the only one with a soft spot for you.
A/N: This is just a short fluffy little drabble based off this picture that @hunterthecharmer shared. Hope you like it :)
Word Count: 671
You had dropped the puppy conversation weeks ago. Tyler had made it clear—between storm chasing, traveling, and the unpredictable chaos of your lives, adding a dog to the mix wasn’t practical. “Too much work, too much responsibility,” he’d said. You hadn’t argued, even though the thought of a little puppy curled up on your lap had been something you’d wanted for awhile. You weren’t ready to have kids with Tyler…yet. But a puppy was manageable, or so you thought.
So when Tyler told you to hop in the truck one quiet Saturday morning a few months later at the end of storm season, a smirk playing at his lips, you didn’t think twice. You slid into the passenger seat, glancing at him with curiosity.
“Where are we going?”
He simply reached over, tugged your seatbelt into place, and replied, “You’ll see.”
That smirk told you that you were in for something. But as he drove past the usual spots your favorite diner, the backroads leading to the fishing spotyou two frequented you grew more confused. It wasn’t until he pulled into a parking lot in the next town over, right in front of an animal shelter, that your breath caught in your throat.
You turned to him, wide-eyed. “Tyler?”
He had already opened his door, stepping out like he hadn’t just blown your mind. He leaned against the truck, looking at you with a lopsided grin. “Well? Let’s go pick one out.”
You scrambled out of the truck, nearly tripping over your own feet in your excitement. He chuckled, catching your arm before you could go face-first into the gravel. “Easy there, sweetheart.”
The second you stepped inside, you were drawn to the row of kennels lining the back wall. Some of the dogs wagged their tails, others barked excitedly. But your heart stopped when your eyes landed on a little golden retriever curled up in the corner of her kennel.
“She’s a little shy,” the worker informed you. “She’s had a rough start, so she’s still getting used to people.”
You nodded, understanding completely. Slowly, you knelt down, extending your hand towards her. She hesitated, lifting her small head to meet your gaze. Her warm brown eyes studied you, uncertain at first. And then, to your surprise and the worker’s she got up, padded toward you, and rested her head on your knee.
Your heart melted.
You reached out, carefully scooping her up. She didn’t squirm, didn’t shy away. Instead, she nuzzled into your arms, pressing her little nose into the crook of your neck. You exhaled a shaky breath, already feeling yourself fall fast and hard.
When you looked up at Tyler, he was already shaking his head with a knowing look.
“You’re not gonna let me leave here without her, are you?” he asked, amused.
You grinned, cradling the puppy closer. “Nope. Just look at her Tyler!.”
Tyler sighed, but there was no real fight behind it. He just rubbed a hand down his face, chuckling under his breath. “Yeah, yeah. I guess she’s kinda cute.”
As you and Tyler got into the truck, the little golden curled up on your lap, you leaned into Tyler’s side, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. “Thank you,” you whispered.
He tipped his hat back, glancing down at you. “Yeah, yeah,” he muttered, feigning exasperation. But when he reached over, scratching the puppy’s ears, his voice softened. “She’s got a soft spot for you.”
You grinned. “You do too, cowboy.”
Tyler chuckled, shaking his head. “You aren’t wrong there, sweetheart.”
Before you could tease him, he reached over, cupping your cheek and pulling you in for a slow, lingering kiss. His lips were warm, tasting faintly of the coffee he’d had that morning, and when he finally pulled back, he brushed his thumb over your cheek, his smirk returning.
“C’mon,” he murmured, tapping the truck’s dashboard. “Let’s get our girl home.”
With your heart full and the little golden nestled against you, you had a feeling home had never felt sweeter.

STANLEY
Tumblr media
★ “what do you mean you feel like garbage?? you were fine an hour ago! what happened?? who do I have to fight??” and when you explain, he just. OH. THAT.
★ “okay, okay, don’t freak out, but,” he digs around in some closet and pulls out a very old hot water bottle. “this thing got me through some rough winters. i hope this will, uh. . . stop the angry uterus thing.”
★ if anyone (Soos, Dipper, some poor clueless tourist) makes a dumb joke about “mood swings,” Stan will protect you. “oh, you think that’s funny? let’s see how funny it is when I lock you in the Mystery Shack bathroom for a week with no toilet paper!”
★ will not let you lift a finger. so worried about your state he physically shoves you back down if you try to do anything. “nope. nope, nuh-uh, baby, don’t even think about it.”
★ if you're dying from pain and nothing helps, he just holds you close while dramatically saying “oh sweetheart, if only nature was FAIR, it’d be me bleeding instead! why this world is so unfair????”
★ of course he buys you snacks. SO MANY SNACKS. he heard somewhere that chocolate helps, so now he’s bought four different brands of cheap chocolate bars from the gas station
“uh, i got these. one of ‘em’s gotta be the magic one, right?”
★ “old man Mcgucket says bark tea fixes everything. should we. . . should we try bark tea?”
★ once Stanley pulled out a beer and immediately regretted it. “. . . wait, no, that’s for me.”
★ ofc he cooks for you. he’s a big believer that food fixes all things, even if he doesn’t understand the science of it. makes you the heartiest, greasiest, most filling meal he can. you might not even want it but it’s the intent. it's the love. (and if you actually ask for something? he’ll make it with no hesitation)
★ you look even slightly like you’re in pain?? immediate concern. hunched over? “alright, that’s it, you’re going on the couch.” he literally herds you over with his hands on your shoulders, forces you to get comfortable. “c'mon, c'mon, up ya go. feet up. blanket on. there ya go.”
★ lovingly teases you when you cry over dumb stuff, but only a little. “you're cryin’ over a commercial? sweetie, c’mon.” wipes your tears anyway. kisses your forehead after.
★ grocery store trip. Stanley standing in the feminine hygiene aisle, he calls you from the store like, “baby, what the hell is ultra-thin? why are there WINGS on these? you gonna fly away or somethin’? :(”
★ i have a feeling he'll get the wrong ones. Stan comes home proud of himself only for you to be like Stan these are panty liners. he’s FLABBERGASTED. “they were in the same aisle!! they had the same stupid pink packaging!!”
★ eventually, he settles into his caretaking mode, ruffles your hair, makes bad jokes to make you laugh even when you feel awful. if you get emotional from the hormones he panics a little but ultimately just lets you cry on his shoulder and pats your back
★ mutters “alright, where’s it hurt, lemme at it.” then massages your lower back, rubs your stomach clumsily but gently. Stan is determined to physically get rid of your pain somehow even if that’s not how it works
★ makes you rest by putting on a movie and forcing you to stay put. he picks the weirdest mix of old action flicks, crime shows and one sappy romance he swears he doesn’t like. (he totally does.)
★ if you’re in pain he's gonna fix it. but since he can’t punch your uterus, he does the next best thing. distracts the hell outta you. "alright, sweetheart, what’s it gonna be? poker? tall tales? let's watch duck detective?”
you giggle. “Stan, just cuddle me.”
“oh, yeah, you got it, c’mere.” immediately pulls you onto his lap, wrapping his big arms around you, rocking his most precious thing in the world.
★ if you're up at 2 AM, restless from cramps, Stan notices immediately “owwh, doll, let’s getcha comfy.” guides you to the couch, sets you up with a blanket, turns on some quiet late-night TV. he stays up with you, spending sleepless night taking care of you. he sits there, rubbing your back, making sure you’re okay
in some hours more though, he falls asleep next to you, head leaning against yours
STANFORD
Tumblr media
★ HE KNOWS BEFORE YOU DO. this man has studied interdimensional quantum phenomena. you think he hasn’t mapped out your cycle like a scientist mapping the tides???? PLEASE
“sweetheart, shouldn’t you be starting your period soon?”
“what? no?? I feel fine“ and twenty minutes later, you’re in pain
“ah. as I suspected.” Ford says
★ literally tracks it like a researcher. has a whole-ass journal with little notes. estimates symptoms, cravings, moods. he says it's because “I want to be prepared for you”.
you catch him writing in it one day. “Ford, what is that?”
he looks guilty and awkward. “a. . . documentation of your menstrual cycle?”
you take it, open it and your eyes widen. it got a whole-ass formula for predicting your moods
“wtf Ford, you made a menstrual algorithm??”
he rubs the back of his neck. “well, i wanted to ensure that i could be fully prepared for any and all symptoms—“
you’re just staring at the notes, not even listening to him. “did you seriously track that I crave sour candy more than chocolate???”
Ford pushes up his glasses. “i prefer to call it an empirical observation, yes.” next thing you do is kiss him senseless, because this nerd is the most devoted man on the planet
★ i assure you, he's already stocked up. you go to grab something and oh . . . heating pad? already plugged in. pain meds? already out on the counter. ur favorite snacks? somehow already bought. tea? brewing
★ of course! of course you'll get his lectures about periods. “did you know that menstrual cramps are caused by the uterus contracting due to prostaglandins? i read a fascinating study on ways to mitigate the pain—“ but let me tell you, he’s rambling because he’s nervous about you hurting. also because he thinks knowledge = comfort
★ his gentle hands, always. adjusting your blanket. rubbing slow circles into your back. fingertips ghosting over your forehead to check if you’re feverish
★ absolutely 100%, without a doubt, Ford takes notes on what helps you. if you ever say something like “ugh, this tea actually helps a lot” he writes that down. if you offhandedly mention “i think dark chocolate makes it better” he’s buying you ten bars of it next time.
★ he tries to keep you distracted. puts on old sci-fi movies and nerds out over them. reads aloud from a book if you want because he knows you love his voice
“did I ever tell you about the time I discovered a species that only reproduces once every ten years?” he just TALKS to you. calmly. thoughtfully. lets his voice carry you away from the pain.
★ he will stay up with you if you can’t sleep. even if he’s exhausted, even if he has research to do. if you’re in pain, he’s right there. “sleep, darling. I’ll stay up for a while. you need to rest.” strokes your hair until you do and presses a kiss to your temple when you finally drift off.
★ Ford can’t stand inefficiency. the first time he hears you complain about normal period products, he rubbed his chin, thinking. you’re uncomfortable??? with a problem that science could potentially solve???
“hmph. there must be a better way.” he disappears into his lab for hours.
★ what he makes depends on what you complain about! hate pads? “ah. they’re inefficient, bulky and uncomfortable. yes, darling, I see the flaws.”
hate tampons? “too absorbent, prone to leaking at unpredictable rates. . . fascinating, but flawed.”
cramps?? “prostaglandin-induced muscle contractions. I can work with this!”
no problem is too small. he listens to every complaint
★ “i will revolutionise menstruation, darling!” you're so proud of him. Ford is proud of himself too
★ normally, he treats you like his equal, his partner, his greatest love. but when you’re sick ohh he secretly loves having an excuse to baby you. he brings you tea and tests the temperature on his wrist before handing it over. he fluffs your pillows, tucks you in way too snug. if you groan in pain, he’s immediately alert. “what is it? what do you need? tell me, dearest, I’ll get it.”
i can't believe i wrote an entire fic from Ford's pov journaling reader's cycle, im going insane

Tags: Dean Winchester/Female Reader, so much angst, hurt/comfort, small fluff at the end, pre-established relationship, past abusive/toxic relationship, soft Dean
Summary/Warnings: Some scars don't really fade. They just fester and rot, remaining unattended in your body because you can't really remember how to heal them.
And Dean can't fix this for you. But he can give you somewhere safe to fix yourself.
Author's Note: Request from an anon! This one's heavy guys. If you think that past abusive relationships might be a no go for you, make the right choice for yourself <3. If not, enjoy (?) the story.
Word Count: 4k
It had been a good hunt. An objectively good hunt. Done in two days, no bodies to burn or bury, an alright bar in the town, and Sam managing to get his own room because he’s sick of you trying to bang Dean in front of him.
“Hey, don’t blame my girl for how you’re always sticking your ass in our business-“
“We share a room, Dean!” Sam had said, half-throwing his hands in the air. “Where else am I supposed to stick my ass if not in our communal living space-“
Dean had snorted. “Communal living space? Dude, you sound like such a jackass-“
“Why, because I can use big words like space?”
“I- Watch it, Sammy-“
“I’ll watch it if you stop trying to fuck on my bed!”
They’d kept arguing. You’d remained silent, picking at the wood of the table and wondering if—should you actually attempt to—you could sink into Dean’s chest and just stay there for a while. It would be warm and solid, and probably not all that safe—that man got himself stabbed and shot a lot—but safer than being in you. Then your traitorous and useless body, made only to be snapped in half. It must have something written on it or in it, emit some kind of blacklight or stench that said weak. Dumb, weak little bitch, lucky to have this because you don’t deserve it. Couldn’t deserve it.
Better, you could turn to stone, right here in the booth. If you could do that, you’d never get another bruise on your throat or hear venomous words spat in your ear. Sam and Dean could leave you behind and never have to feel any guilt. Dean could stop having to pretend he likes you as more than a body, and pull away without beating himself up about abandoning you like a used and worn couch.
Moth-eaten and stained, only still in the house because it feels wrong to throw it out. Because you have a little sentimentality for the couch when it was nice, before it had been beaten and abused and reduced to just a lumpen sack of feathers and cloth.
You don’t think that comparison is fair to the couch.
At least the couch was once useful.
Because it had been a good hunt.
You were the problem.
You’d slipped and wavered and fallen. But the whole place had smelled like lavender soap, and it had carried you back to where that same smell had suffocated you. He had loved that smell, and said it made you seem prettier and softer than you were.
This whole case had reeked of him. And you’d told yourself you’d be fine. That it was in the past, and he wasn’t supposed to have that kind of control over you anymore. That the world seems gray in that vamp nest, but it was winter, so that was to be expected. And when you’d been knocked flat on your back, you’d seen a crack in the ceiling—identical to the one that had been over his bed—but had been a coincidence. Ceilings cracked, and there were only so many patterns in the world.
And when a Vamp had wrapped its hand around your throat, that was just something that happened to hunters. You all got hurt and beaten and had close calls. That was the job. You’d faced worse than this. You’d faced blood coating your fingers and splattered on your face, guts pooling at your feet and long moments where you’d been sure no one would come and save you.
Dean had always saved you. Even before you’d started doing more—and then more and more and more, until it seemed pretty obvious you were dating and it was more exhausting to fight it than accept it—Dean had always been saving you. He’d had to do it today, yanking the Mare off your chest and cradling your head against his chest until you were breathing easily.
Yet again, you’d been the problem. The hunt had been easy and simple, and you’d still fucked it because you sucked. You were dead-weight. You couldn’t stop feeling the hand around your throat—imprinted like a tattoo that made your words small and body smaller—and you couldn’t stop the weighed down feeling of hopelessness. Your brain stuck on a scratching loop around the Vamp’s hiss of dumb, annoying, weak little bitch, until you couldn’t manage to smile at anything at all.
It just made you feel worse, because Dean might be worried you don’t think he’s being funny. That whenever he makes truly horrible joke and you don’t giggle like a lovesick schoolgirl, it’s because he’s gone wrong.
He’s done nothing. You really hope he just gives up and tosses you aside, because he shouldn’t have to put up with worry about something so valueless. He’d find someone else. Someone better and more deserving. You’re just lucky he ever even looked at you, let alone bothered to try and stay. To try and be the hero that keeps rescuing the princess, even when the princess is just a peasant who can put on a show.
You’d tricked him into thinking you’re better than you are. Lied to him until you’d trapped him, and now he had to stay with you, because he’s a good man and you’re simply the fucking worst thing in the world to darken his path, and he’ll leave if he really saw you-
That’s not fair to Dean. He is a good man. Better than he was, by miles and stretches and eons, but that really just made it hurt more. Because Dean’s not him, but you’re still you. The same you who was weak, and stupid, and undeserving. That doesn’t change. It only grows now that you have someone you really don’t deserve. Someone who glows in the low light of the night, laughs in a way that fills the bar with life, and always touches you like he’d like to keep you.
You aren’t something that should be kept. But he’s doing it anyway.
And there’s some bile in your throat at the thought. And that’s just another way in which this—in which you—are horrible.
But the worst part was that things like this happened all the time, and you still weren’t strong enough to build an immunity. To just move on, like a big girl. To actually teach yourself that he was in the past, and this you—now, in the present, sitting with your smoking hot boyfriend’s arm around your shoulders—didn’t have any right to be afraid anymore.
“Are you feeling okay?”
You blink at Dean as he guides you out of the bar, Sam walking a few feet ahead and the wind of the night is so cold-
Dean says your name, his brow furrowing in the way it does when he’s worried, and you give him your best, softest, most docile smile.
“Everything’s fine.” You say, and you can almost believe yourself. Your voice is gentle and small and doesn’t sound like you, but it’s the best way to end the questions. You’ll fold over. You’ll bend until you snap. And nobody needs to push you for that to happen.
But Dean’s still frowning. “Are you sure? ‘Cause if you’re feeling well we can head back to the bunker tonight, and Sam won’t have to get his own room-“
“No, Dean, I’m-“
“Yeah, no, Dean.” Sam turns, shooting his brother a glare. “How would I get home?”
“You’re smart, Sammy, you’d figure it out-“
You tune out the rest of their fake-argument. You’re mostly listening to the wind. It’s loud, and strong, and cold. So cold, biting at your skin and making your joints stiff, but at least you can feel it. It’s not numbing, and it’s indifferent, and Sam and Dean don’t seem half as affected by it as you are, but they’re also not weak-
“C’mon,” Dean says your name, and you realize you’re moving again. That he’s guiding you into the shotgun seat, and a grumpy looking Sam is clambering into the back.
“Wait, why-“
“We’re dropping Sam off, then heading back.” Dean turns the engine on, his voice barely raising to match the rumble, and you’re not sure you heard him right.
“Why- I don’t-“
“I wanna go home.” Dean shrugs, and it’s too casual. “And Sammy’s a big boy, he’ll be fine without Mommy and Daddy watching him.”
A small smile tugs at your lips, built by Sam’s groan from behind you, and you can’t stop the words from slipping out. “I told you to stop calling us that.”
“Yeah, but you also told me that you were-“ Dean cuts himself off, shaking his head slightly and clearing his throat. “That you weren’t into car sex, and that ain’t ever stopped us-“
You cover his mouth with a hand—his shit-eating grin just as blinding in only his eyes—and Sam makes a fake gagging sound.
And you think Dean knows. That he’s realized that you’re just so tired and weak and useless, and he’s trying to work out if it’s worth keeping you around. If you’ll listen to him and do what he asks—and you will, you always will, not because of the threat of being left but because he’s Dean and he couldn’t lead you astray if he tried—or if he needs to leave you on the pavement to scrape yourself back together.
So you don’t fight him, or insist that Sam can have his privacy and sanity without getting another room or you and Dean leaving, because you don’t really want to be touched like that right now. You just drop Sam off at the motel, grab your bags, and slump back into the Impala’s bench as Sam and Dean exchange low words outside.
By the time Dean joins you, you’re half asleep. And you try to stay awake—to entertain him half as much as he entertains you—but he pulls you right into his side, lets your head rest on his shoulder, and Dean doesn’t smell like lavender. He smells like evergreen and apples, he’s warm when your ears are still a little numb from the cold, and when he starts to hum along to the low music, you’re gone. Everything fades, and it’s just the deep sound of Dean’s voice like a lullaby and a big, firm hand on your thigh that isn’t going to leave a bruise.
Maybe you don’t deserve a bruise.
Maybe you don’t deserve anything. Maybe you’re lucky to be stuck in this bed with stinging marks around your throat, and a voice like nails on your ears sneering that you’re a weak little bitch. If you were stronger you’d fight back, but you’ve been broken in and can’t be put back together. If you were stronger, you’d scream for help, but you’re also so horribly you that you know nobody will ever come and save you.
Who would try to save you? Who could possibly care about something like you enough to bother and patch up you up, to take string to your skin and heart and organs and tie them back together? You’re not strong enough to make anything stick. You’re made of glass and linen, and any attempt to put you back together would be futile, because you’d probably just break further. Someone would have to be patient enough to pull you back together when you spooled apart, and warm enough to fuse and meld you in a way that wouldn’t shatter with one touch.
You don’t think a person like that would be real. And if they are, they wouldn’t want you.
Because they’d be strong, and you really are weak.
If you were strong, you would’ve left. But you’re still here in this freezing cold bed, staring at the crack on the ceiling.
And you don’t think you’ll ever be more than that. Not as another hand wraps around your throat—you don’t remember what you said, but you must have said something—and there’s a heavy weight on your chest and you can’t breathe-
“Breathe.” A deep voice that sounds like it cares says your name, and you listen. “It’s okay, you’re okay, just breathe for me.”
For him. There’s a hand on your head that’s combing through your hair and pressing you into a place that warm and solid and safe. You’re held steady by an arm around your waist, and it fits so well there. You don’t think it could hurt you if it tried.
He’d sounds kind and caring, and he’d said your name like you mattered, so you’ll try to breathe.
And you don’t remember how to do it for yourself yet, so—just for now, until you can teach yourself to do anything for you—you’ll breathe for him.
“There you go, baby,” the voice mutters, and when you make a weak, choked sound his body tenses, but he doesn’t push you away. “I know, but I’ve got you. Swear I’ve got you.”
He says he’s got you. Dean says he’sgot you.
And you believe him.
So you start to cry.
He’d never liked it when you cried. He’d said it was useless, and that the sound was annoying.
Dean just keeps holding you, and muttering soothing words in your ear until the tears stop flowing. He only keeps rubbing a circle on your back until your breathing slows, and you can lean back to meet his gaze.
He’s not angry. Just worried.
You’re going to start crying again.
“Are,” you sniff, trying to pull yourself back together by force, and look around the dark space. “Are we still in the car?”
“Pulled over earlier.” He mutters, tracing his thumb over your cheekbone with a care you don’t deserve. “You started doing that tossing shit when you’re about to have a nightmare. Wanted to get ahead of it.”
You swallow. You’d made him pull over, and you had enough nightmares that he knew what one looked like, and you were just a burden and problem and he should just shove you out of the Impala and leave you to rot like carrion on the highway-
“Stop doin’ that.” Dean grunts, and you tense.
“I- I’m not-“
“You’re freakin’ out. You’re freakin’ me out.” Dean scans over your face, pulling you close until you’re half on his lap. “If you’re hurt, you know you gotta tell me, sweetheart. I’m not looking to do a zombie bite thing, where we get home and you start bleeding all over the floor. So tell me.” He takes a deep breath, and his exhale is warm over your lips. “Please tell me.”
You can’t tell him. You’re not ready for him to leave yet.
You drop your brow to Dean’s, taking low, slow breaths and shaking your head. “It’s okay-“
“It’s fucking not.” He snaps your name, his grip tightening slightly, and you flinch. “I- shit- did I hurt you-“
“No.” You mumble. “I’m just tired-“
“You’ve been sleeping for five hours. You’ll get another seven once we get goin’ again. But,” Dean narrows his eyes, even as his grip loosens once more. “We’re not getting back on the road until you answer me. What’s wrong.”
“I-“ You cut yourself off with a choked sound. He’s angry. You’d made him angry, and he won’t hurt you but if he did you’d deserve it-
You start crying again, and Dean’s eyes widen. This is it. He’s going to push you out the window and you’ll have to wander through the marshes until the mud just swallows you whole-
Dean pulls you fully into his lap, holding you there carefully and muttering in your ear with a care and reverence you don’t deserve.
“Fuck, baby, I’m sorry, fuck, please don’t cry-“
“No, it’s- I’m-“ You take a long, strangled breath, wrapping your arms around his torso until you’re sure you’re going to suffocate him. “It’s not you, Dean, I- It’s not your problem-“
“Fucking hell it’s not my problem.”
You shake your head, burying your face in the crook of his neck. Maybe you really could move in there, and nothing would ever hurt you again. “It’s- You don’t have to-“
“I do.” He mutters, guiding your head back to meet his gaze. He brushes the tears from your eyes. You don’t deserve this. “You’re hurtin’.”
It’s not a question, but you nod anyways. Holding a lie too long has never done you a favor before.
“Tell me how to fix it.”
“You- you can’t fix this,” you mumble, staring at the bridge of his nose. You aren’t worthy of looking him in the eyes. “It’s, it’s just me, Dean. I’m just like this.”
He frowns. “Like what?”
“Weak.” You whisper. “I- I risked the hunt, I always risk the hunt, and I’m not strong like you and Sam are, and I just wanna go home-“
“We’re going home, babygirl.” Dean’s voice is soft, and low, and cautious, and you let out another sob that shakes your whole body. “And you’re not weak, you ganked like three vamps-“
“Could’ve done more.”
“There were seven of them. Three is pretty awesome numbers.” He gives you a nervous small smile. “You’re awesome. I don’t know who’s been telling you otherwise, but you are.”
That’s what breaks you. The floodgates don’t open—they’d barely held anything to begin with—but something snaps along your spine, and you can’t stop the horrible, rotten truth from falling out of your mouth.
“But he was right.” You whisper. “I’m weak, Dean, and I don’t know why you can’t see it.”
“There’s nothing to see, and I- Who’s he?”
You wish that you’d slept better. If you had, your tongue wouldn’t be loosened with pure exhaustion, and you could lie.
But you’re so tired. Unbelievably tired. Mind-numbingly and persistently tired, all the time, and it’s grow so intolerable you just want to be anything else. And if what you are is weak and alone, at least you’ll know that’s where you're supposed to be.
And you’d never wanted Dean to know. He was never supposed to learn from your own mouth how foul you are. He was supposed to find out himself, and then leave you like everyone always has the right to do.
But you’re telling him that you’re weak and fearful, that you’d never been able to fight tooth and spit and leave. You waited so, so long to leave and even then, it had only been because he’d been gone for a while, and you were so tired, and you needed to be anywhere but there.
And you stepped out, and never gone back.
There’s not going back now either. It all spills out, from how you met him to the day you left. And Dean’s so quiet. Only watching you as you speak and squeezing his hold on your hips when you trail off or cry.
But he doesn’t kick you out. And when you finished, you’re still in his lap. You can’t read the expression on his face. The highway lights are dim, and there’s nothing obviously hateful or disgusted written over his features, but you might just be too stupid to see it-
“I’m-“ Dean clears his throat, his voice hoarse. “I’m so fucking sorry.”
You blink at him, the tears still blurring your vision. “What.”
“That’s- I didn’t know, I never even fucking guessed- I should’ve guessed-“
“How would you have guessed?” You whisper, risking a drop of your brow back to his. He lets you stay. “I never told you-“
“But I know you. I should’ve seen it, you- I should’ve made you feel like you could tell me, I-“ His face hardens in his second, his grip tightening, but not to suffocated you. To protect you. To wrap his whole body around yours and keep it there safely. “I should fucking kill him. Cut off his arms and stuff them up his ass, get Cas to put the fear of god in him-“
“Dean, no-“
“He doesn’t just get to fucking do that to you and keep walking around-“
“He shouldn’t.” You mumble. “But he did. Men do all the time. And, I- I’m sorry I didn’t tell you-“
“Don’t apologize.” He grunts, dragging his thumb over your cheekbone. “You’ve never done anything wrong, baby, it’s just that son of a bitch, who’s gonna get a knock on his door soon-“
“No knocking on doors,” you wrap your arms around his neck, shaking your head against his brow. “Please, Dean, that’s- that’s not what I want-“
“What do you want?”
His question is immediate, and it crashes into you like a tidal wave. Numbing your whole body and kickstarting it in the same second, because you don’t know. You haven’t really known, haven’t had a direction, in years. You wandered and wandered and just tried to keep on breathing, to keep on your feet,  and never let yourself look back.
You’d never been good at that last part. You kept on breathing because you didn’t have a choice. You’d kept on your feet because if you faltered, you’d fall over and it would be so painful to get back up.
But you’d always looked back. On nights like this one, over and over and over until your eyes were sunken and your neck was craned to always make sure nothing was behind you.
It might be nice to rest. To breathe not because it’s a labor, but because it feels nice to breathe the same air as Dean.
It would be amazing to keep looking back—it’s a habit, and it will die a slow and withering death until it’s gone, and you never pinpoint the moment you lost it—but to also start looking forward. Looking for that place to rest, that you already seem to have found.
What do you want?
“I want some food.” You whisper, leaning back to scan over Dean’s face. “And a nap. Please.”
Dean gives you a small grin, and nods. “I think we can do that. And after, you’ll give me an address-“
“Please don’t kill him, Dean.” You drop your voice slightly, holding his gaze. “I just want to stay with you, and to never see him again. Please.”
Two more wants. You’re on a roll.
“Just me?” Dean asks, and you don’t he believes you.
But it really is the truth.
“Just you.” You say, pressing a soft kiss to the corner of his lips, and humming when he grins against them.
“Lucky you,” he mutters your name against your lips, squeezing his arms around you “I think I know a dude who can swing that.”
You let out a soft giggle—barely a breath, but there—Dean squeezes his arms again, and you really like how he does that. It’s not because he’s trying to remind you where you belong, it’s because he trying to check that you’re there. Like he’s just as afraid that you’ll flee as you are that he’ll shove you aside, and he’s trying to hold you together with everything he has before you slip away.
“You’re really cheesy,” you say, and he chuckles.
“You like it. We start drivin’ again, you think you’ll be able to get some sleep?”
“Yeah, but food-“
“We’re only a few hours out from home.” Dean shrugs, really making no attempt to move you from his lap. “I’ll order whatever you’re feeling when we get back.”
You pause, playing with the hairs on the back of his neck as you think. “How about pizza?”
“Who’s cheesy now-“
You lean back to give him a mock glower. “Dean Winchester.”
“What did you not like that one-“
“It was horrible-“
“That’s not a no-“
You cut him off with a long, soft kiss, and you like it here. Wherever Dean is, you’ll like it there.
“Can we please get pizza?” You mumble, and he nods. It’s such a small, normal movement.
It makes you feel a little more found.
“We can get anything you want, princess.”
End Note: Oof that was a sad one. Sorry squad.

This fic is for the @infiniterealms remix event! Please enjoy!
.
“Stop it,” whispered Star, putting her foot on top of Paulina’s.  “If you were going to freak out this much, you should have stayed home.  Or at least not come to breakfast.”
“I don’t miss school.  Or breakfast.”  It was too important.  The time before class was when rumors and information about what happened outside of school came to light.
Today, knowing the rumors would be vital.
She picked at her nails.  They were new, the acrylics freshly applied, but they weren’t quite as even as they usually were.  Not up to her usual standards.  But she had to do it, just like she had to come in today.
Star put her hands over Paulina’s.  They were shaking, too.  “It’s going to be fine,” she said.  “You just have to be, like, zen about it.”
“He didn’t even have anything on him.”
“I know.  But we’ll work something out. Just- Just stop talking about it.”
Paulina took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
.
Star and Paulina watched Valerie stalk across the courtyard, head held high, lunch tray exactly parallel to the ground.  Despite not being in any sports, she moved with a tight, athletic grace.  She drew eyes.
“She’s been getting full of herself lately,” said Paulina.  “Like, she thinks she’s better than us.  We’ve got to do something.”
“Aw, Pauli,” said Star.  “Do we have to?”
“Like, yeah?  Unless we want to just, you know, give up.”
“Give up what?”
“Uh, being on top?  Duh.”
“I don’t know.”
“Listen, Star,” said Paulina, turning to face her.  “I know you used to like her, but you’ve got to get over it.  She’s the one who ditched us.  And no one ditches us.”
Star looked down at her lunch, then nodded.
“Anyway,” said Paulina, flipping her hair over her shoulder.  “I’ve got an idea.”
.
Paulina’s eyes drifted to where Valerie sat eating breakfast.  She was wearing long sleeves, pants, and a hoodie.  She hadn’t worn skirts or short sleeves since…
It was whatever.  It wasn’t like Paulina cared.  She was only looking because sometimes Valerie talked to the loser trio.
“We can check his locker,” Star was saying.  “We’ve got the key.  We just have to wait for a good time.  We can take one more day.”
Paulina nodded and smiled shallowly.  “Maybe.”  Her smile quickly fell away, but as more people entered the cafeteria she covered up her general… mood… by examining her nails and checking her reflection in her new makeup mirror.
.
“That was great,” said Paulina.  “Did you see the look on her face?”
“Mhm,” said Star, smiling tightly.
“It’ll keep her from looking down her nose at us,” said Paulina.  She flipped open her makeup mirror, to check and make sure her lipstick hadn’t smudged.  But what she saw wasn’t her face.  It was something terrible.  Something rotting and skull-like.
She shrieked and dropped the mirror, breaking it.
Suddenly, the hallway was empty and cold.
“Bullieeeeees…” groaned a sepulchral voice.  “Bullieeeeeeeeeeeeees…  You will regreeeeeeet…”
.
Paulina shivered.
“You alright?” asked Kwan.
“Just a chill.”  She shot a smile at him.  “They’ve changed the air conditioner settings or something, it’s like it’s blowing on me.”
The others started joking about how underfunded and cheap the school was.  This allowed Paulina to turn her attention to the doors just as Sam Manson came in.
Even under these circumstances, Paulina couldn’t help but curl her lip at Manson’s appearance.  Everything she wore was just so– so ugly.  Even the way she dyed her hair was crude.  The color was totally fake and flat.  Her skirt looked like someone had taken a pair of scissors and a spray can to it.  The less said about her grungy, safety-pinned jacket the better.
But more than that, seeing Manson reminded Paulina of the last time she’d had the displeasure of speaking to her.
.
It had been two days since they’d pranked Valerie, and those two days were the worst.  Everything that could go wrong, did.  She always had a backup outfit at school - no one was perfect, but she could look that way - but her spare skirt caught on the door of her locker and tore.  And then there were… things.  Things lurking in mirrors, or out of the corner of her eye.  The feeling of something just outside the door whenever she went to the school bathrooms…
And Star was having some kind of problem with missing textbooks or whatever.  It wasn’t important.
But Paulina knew exactly how to deal with this.  Or, rather, exactly who could deal with this.  It was just a matter of getting in touch with her knight in shining armor.
She knew just how to do it, though.  She’d done it before.  For one reason or another, Phantom always showed up most often around the loser trio.  Probably because they sucked so much that they just, like, attracted ghosts who wanted to kill them or something, and Phantom had to spend all his time protecting them instead of dating Paulina, like he deserved.
Whatever it was, it meant that she could get a message to Phantom through them.
She waited for the right time to approach them - not because she cared about them, but because she could practically feel her reputation taking a hit just from being around them - and then put on her best smile and dragged Star along behind her.
“What do you want?” snarled Manson.
“Rude,” she said.
Manson’s eyes narrowed.  “Get on with it.  We want to get to class.”
She tittered in a way that she knew irritated Manson.  “So, you guys see Phantom all the time, right?”
“N-not really,” said Fenton, not looking at her.
“As much as anyone,” said Manson.
“Well, you see,” said Paulina, twirling a lock of hair around her fingers, “I was wondering if you could give him a message from me?”
“You want to invite him to your birthday party through us again?”
“No,” said Paulina, rolling her eyes.  That hadn’t worked well enough for her to want Manson in her house ever again.  “It’s just, I’ve been having a bit of a ghost problem.”
“Me, too,” said Star, quickly.
Fenton looked up, brows pinched together.  “You have?”
“It’s Poindexter,” said Manson.  “You remember.  From what they did with Valerie.”
“Oh,” said Fenton, expression shuttering.  “Tuck, are you sure you have the right combination?”
“Dude, just use your key.  You have it, right?”
Fenton started to search his pockets and backpack.
“It isn’t just anything,” said Paulina, “it’s, like, a huge problem whenever I’m at school.”
“Then stay home,” said Manson.  “Or be less of a b–”
Fenton opened his locker with a bang, shoved back in the gadgets that tried to spill out, and started exchanging books.
“Sorry,” said Manson, clearly feeling anything but.  “We’ve got class.”
.
Paulina growled a little inside.  If it hadn’t been for Manson, then it never would have gotten this far.  Phantom would have fixed everything.
When Foley arrived, he looked…  Normal.  He clearly hadn’t heard anything.  He wasn’t upset enough.
Either way, he sat down next to Manson and they started talking.
“Come on, Pauli, let’s go,” said Star, tugging Paulina’s arm.
“Uh, what?”
“You said you’d help me do my hair before class,” lied Star.
.
Paulina wasn’t the kind of person to give up, and she wasn’t going to let Manson get in the way of making this stupid ghost go away and bother someone who actually deserved it.  Like Lester, maybe.  He was so annoying, and he’d had the guts to ask her to the last dance.  So gross.
So, she waited until Fenton was alone and cornered him.
“Phantom and I don’t talk to each other,” he said, not looking directly at her, which was so annoying.  He was supposed to have a huge crush on her.  This was supposed to work.  “I can’t help you with that.”
“But he’s always around you.  I just need you to pass on one message.”
“I can’t help you,” repeated Danny.  “My parents are ghost hunters, Paulina, they chase after Phantom and shoot at him.  He doesn’t want to talk to me.  I’m pretty sure Phantom has some kind of truce with Sidney, anyway.”
“Who?”
“You know, the ghost that’s haunting you?  Sidney Poindexter?  You’ll be fine, you just have–”
“That gross nerd?”  Paulina needed to get rid of this ghost even more!  She shuddered.
“Okay, fine,” said Star, who Paulina had almost forgotten was there, “so he doesn’t talk to you - like, who would–”
“Gee, thanks.”
“But you’ve got, like, stuff from your parents, right?  Ghost hunting stuff.  You could give that to us for, like, protection.”
Fenton backed away.  “I really can’t.”
.
“Sorry,” said Star as they left the cafeteria.  “But this’ll probably be the best time, before classes start and while those two are still in the cafeteria.  You still have the keys?”
“Yeah,” said Paulina, touching her purse.  “Yeah.  Yeah, of course I do.  I’m not stupid.”
“I didn’t say you were,” said Star.  She sped up, lengthening her stride.  “God, this would have been so much easier if he’d just been, like, a halfway decent person and helped us.”
One of the classroom doors next to them opened and Mr. Falluca walked out.  Paulina froze for a second, but Mr. Falluca wasn’t even looking at them, instead focused on the stack of papers in his hands.
“Don’t just stand there looking guilty,” hissed Star.  “Come on, Pauli.  We have to keep going.”
Paulina swallowed and nodded.
.
“Come on Fenton.”  This time, she’d caught him before school, when no one would see.  “How often do your parents check your stuff?  We won’t need it for long, you know?  If they notice, can’t you just say a ghost stole it?”
“Okay, how about this?  I don’t want to give you anything.”
“What?” demanded Paulina.  “Why not?”
“You know that I dated Valerie, right?”
“And then she dropped you like a bag of moldy potatoes,” said Paulina.  “Your point?”
“My point is that I still like her.  And what you did to her….  Look.  Just apologize to her.  Really apologize, like, make amends and stuff, and you’ll be fine, okay?”
.
The hallway Fenton’s locker was in was empty, although there were sounds coming from a few of the classrooms.
“Okay,” said Star.  “Keys.”
Paulina nodded, then dug them out of her purse to hand to her.
“Keep an eye out.”  Star turned towards Fenton’s padlock.  It was one of those weird ones that had both a combination lock and a backup keyhole.  “God, why does he have so many keys?”
“I don’t know, just hurry, okay?”
“Yeah,” muttered Star.  “Don’t worry, everything will be over soon.”
.
“Hey!” shouted Star.  “Fenton!”
He stopped, looking back over his shoulder warily.
“If you don’t help us,” said Star, out of breath, “then–”
“Then we’ll tell everyone about your ghost detector,” finished Paulina.  They’d scraped together every rumor about Fenton they could to come up with this.
“My… what?” said Fenton, blankly.
Paulina had to give him credit, he was a good liar.  “You don’t expect people to believe you go to the bathroom that much, do you?  And always right before a ghost attack?  We know your parents gave you something.  Help us, or we’ll tell everyone about it, and about how you’ve been keeping it to yourself so you can hide like a coward.”
“I– What?  I don’t– I don’t have anything like that!”
She took back what she said about him being good at lying.
“If I can notice it,” said Paulina, “other people will believe it.  You think you’re at the bottom of the social ladder now…” she trailed off, threateningly.  Maybe if she hadn’t been so stressed, she would have tried a bit more honey, but sometimes vinegar was all you had.
A number of complex expressions chased across Fenton’s face, but they ended with something hard.
“No,” he said, and then he turned away and left.
.
“Ha!  Got it.”  Star dropped the lock in her pocket before pulling open the locker.
“What does he have?” asked Paulina, looking over her shoulder.  “He has to have some kind of, like, shield or something.”
“I don’t know,” said Star, pushing textbooks to the side.  “You’re seeing what I’m seeing.  Here.”  She pulled a backpack - not Fenton’s normal one - off the hook.  “See what you can find in here.”
She pulled open the zipper, and inside was… money?  A cheap flip phone?  Lipstick?  Two changes of clothes, one for a girl?
Paulina wondered what Fenton was into, but it didn’t matter now.  She unzipped the smaller pockets and started rifling through those.
.
“What now?” asked Star.
It had been a few days since they’d last talked to Fenton, and, therefore, a few days since they’d spread around the rumor, but Fenton had been… unmoved.
Which meant that Sidney Poindexter was still a problem.
With an act of will, Paulina smoothed out her expression.  “If we can’t get what we want by asking nicely, we’ll just take it.”
“But, like, how?  He’s not coming to us.”
“Not yet,” she said.  She thought about it.  “Mama always said, if a man’s hiding one thing, he’s hiding a bunch else, too.  We’ll slip him a note saying, like, if he doesn’t want his real secret to be spread around, he’ll show up.”
“And give us what we want?”
“No,” said Paulina.  “I don’t think that he’ll give once he’s seen us.  He’s got to carry his stuff on him, right?  So we’ll just take it then.”
“Beat up Fenton by ourselves?” asked Star, dubiously.
“Or threaten him,” said Paulina.  “We both bring something to threaten him with, okay?”  Her Papa had a stun gun, and she was sure Star could scrounge up a baseball bat or something.
And, besides, she wanted to get Fenton back.
.
“There’s nothing in here!” hissed Star, frustrated.  She slammed the locker closed, making Paulina jump.  “What the hell.”
Paulina grabbed her wrist and dragged her into the nearest bathroom.  “Can you not?”
“Can you not?  It’s your fault we’re even in this situation!”
“My fault?  What about what you did?”
.
Fenton was already there, leaning against the guardrail, when they reached the bridge in the park.  During daylight, it was a popular spot for couples, but it was creepy and abandoned at night
“Oh, no, not this again.  Haven’t you had enough fun with your stupid ghost detector rumor?”
“It’s not about fun, Fenton,” said Paulina.  “Now, give it over.”
“Or what?”  He stood up and walked a few steps closer to them, a strange expression on his face.  “I don’t think you actually know anything, or you would’ve used it already.”
“Or this,” said Paulina, pulling out the stun gun.
“What the–  Is that a taser?” asked Fenton, raising his hands and stepping back.  “Are– Are you robbing me?”  He glanced sideways at Star, apparently only then noticing her bat.
“Consider a donation to a worthy cause,” said Paulina.  “Hand over your ghost stuff.”
“I don’t have any,” said Fenton.
“When you’re out here in the middle of the night?” asked Paulina, raising an eyebrow.
“Look, you wouldn’t even be haunted if you–”
Paulina saw red and hit the trigger.  The electrodes flew from the end of the stun gun, right on target.  Fenton yelped and fell to the ground, seizing.
It was… satisfying, for lack of a better word.  She’d just been so– So frustrated, lately.  All of her normal ways of blowing off steam at school had been blocked by that horrible ghost.
She pulled the trigger again.
But, before she could, Fenton had swiped away the electrodes, and now he was pulling himself up with the railing, hand over his face.  What Paulina could see of it though–
Star came in, swinging her bat.  She cracked Fenton right across the jaw and he tumbled over the railing and off the bridge.  There was a loud cracking sound.  Fenton hitting the pavement of the walkway below.
There was no other sound.
Paulina breathed in, breathed out.
“What did you do that for?” she asked.
“You didn’t see his face,” wailed Star.  “He looked like– like he was going to kill you.  I didn’t hit him that hard!”
Paulina shook her head and went down under the bridge.  Star followed close behind.  Fenton was… lying there.  Broken.
But still breathing.
“We’ve got to search him,” said Star.
“Hm?”
“For his stuff.”
“Oh, right.”
“And then we’ve got to…”
“I know,” said Paulina.  Then, dreamlike, she asked, “Can I borrow your bat?”
.
“We both did things,” said Paulina, finally.  “The important thing is that we’re in this together, right?”  Her voice trembled.  “Right?”
Star nodded.  “Right.  So– So, we can, like, we have his house keys, too.”
“Yeah,” said Paulina.  The Fentons had to have something in their house, even if their kid was apparently a moron who went around with absolutely nothing.
“And no one’s even noticed he’s gone yet,” continued Star.  “We’ve just…”  She stopped as she put her hand in her pocket.  “I’ve still got his stupid lock.”
“Who cares?”
“His friends will notice if it’s gone.  And we’ve got to get to class, anyway.”  Star seemed to be calming down again.  Good.  She was surprisingly useful in a… situation.
.
In Paulina’s trunk was a thick canvas tarp.
She didn’t know why, exactly.  It had come with the car.
Star went over it, pulling off tags.
Paulina broke two nails getting it back to the trunk.
They drove to the river.
“They’ll assume it was a ghost,” said Star.  “Especially if they don’t find him.”
Paulina had just nodded.
.
Paulina followed Star as they left the bathroom.  It was fine.  They were going to put the lock back on the locker and it would all be fine.
But someone was standing in front of Fenton’s locker.
They turned, slowly, as if they were a character in a lame horror movie.  But Paulina couldn’t move.  Couldn’t breathe.  Couldn’t think.
Fenton’s eyes met hers.

OK, let’s say he comes back from a mission and it was really rough on him and he kind of relapsed into the winter soldier(slightly very very slightly) and Steve let’s reader know that a lot happened. Abby has went away with Natasha for a weekend together as reader was really busy w work. Bucky comes home and is so so on edge and is afraid he will hurt reader and isolates himself especially after he almost hurt reader when she crept up too silent behind him. so he hates himself rn. BUT THEN ABBY RUNS IN OUT OF NOWHERE AND HUGS HIM CUS SHE WAS WAITING FOR HIM TO COME BACK AND BOOM man either lets out the craziest sigh or low keys cries because he realizes he is okay. idk something like that if it makes sense ¯\_(ツ)_/
🧹
Thank you, to my favorite anon!💕 It took me forever to get to this one. This was a lot to go on. It could have gone really dark and angsty, but I'm trying to keep my Abby stories a little lighter. Hope you like it.🤗
Tumblr media
Bucky was gone on what turned out to be an intense mission & word just came back that his team was returning. Steve and Bucky were heading the mission so you weren't too worried. You always like when they are sent out together because you knew they had each other's backs. ALWAYS
The quinjet touched down & the crew disembarked. You saw Bucky and Steve walking down the ramp, deep in conversation. As soon as Bucky made eye contact with you, you felt something was wrong. Then he veered away from you to another entry into the Tower and you knew something was very wrong.
You started to follow him, but Steve blocked your path. "What happened? What's wrong with Bucky??"
"Y/N, give him some time, this mission was rough on him."
"Is he hurt? Is he ok?"
"Physically he's fine..."
Impatiently, "then tell me what happened!"
"It's his story to tell. He needs a little bit of time to sort out the demons in his head. That's all."
"That's all?!?"
"It's what he wants."
******
You were able to give him 2 days to himself, until you caved in & tried calling Bucky just to hear his voice. For him to tell you he's ok but needs time to himself. You'd understand that. But for him to send your call to voicemail pissed you off. You left a message last night & today's you were leaving to pick up Abby, you tried again & you got his voicemail.
"Babe? Can you please call me back, text me...or something, so I know you're alive yet purposefully ignoring me? That would be great." You sigh, "Is this how we are going forward in this relationship? This will be the new communication norm?"
You gather your things to head out of the building, but up ahead you see Steve & Bucky. You hurry to catch up with them. You grab onto Bucky's arm & before you can even say his name, his hand is on your sternum, and you're shoved against the wall. A startled yelp escapes & he releases you immediately. "Fuck!" His hands drop to your arms, "Are you ok? Did I hurt you?" Steve pulls Bucky back.
You reach for his hands, "I'm fine. You startled me." You look up at him and he looks so tired. You go to hug him but he pulls away from you. "Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on, Buck?" You turn to Steve, "Would you do me a big favor and pick-up Abby from pre-school, please?"
"Yea, sure " He shoots Bucky a worried glance before he leaves.
*****
Once you're back at Bucky's residence, "Are you ready to tell me what happened?" You flop yourself down on his couch.
"I can't... I can't let those things...touch you. You don't need to know about HYDRA."
"Bucky, I know about HYDRA. I work here! Nick Fury is my boss."
"You don't need to know about the Winter Soldier. You don't need to know about me back then." Bucky stops pacing & drops down into his chair.
"You don't think I've done my research before dating you? Before I let you be around my daughter? What you did back then was not your fault. You weren't given a choice. HYDRA had control of you. Babe, you are not the same person."
"I'm still capable..."
You move to sit at the foot of his chair, "No! Stop it."
"Doll, I could have killed you back there!"
"You didn't. You wouldn't. You're James Barnes, not the Winter Soldier!" You squeeze his hands. "Talk to me, Bucky. Let me share your burden. We're in this life together. Please tell me what happened."
With a deep sigh, "We went to hit an active HYDRA base camp." You nod. "Doll, there were cribs there. In the lab, there were children's bed and restraints." You softly gasp, squeezing his hands tighter. "We couldn't locate any of the children, but now I know they're out there somewhere."
"Oh, Bucky." Tears prickling your eyes, "I'm so sorry."
"I killed them all. Whoever was there." You kneel up to wrap your arms around him. It took a while for him to return your hug, but you didn't let go. He gives in and pulls you tightly to him.
"You think I wouldn't do the same if I could? Wouldn't anyone do the same? The only difference is that we don't have your skill set." Pulling away, cradling his face between your palms to get him to look at you, "Just because you have the skills, does not make you the Winter Soldier." You give him a soft kiss. "The job you took on isn't an easy one, but you're making the world a safer place. For people like me and Abby."
"I saw the cribs and beds and I...I thought of Abigail. And...I snapped." You nod.
"I understand how that could happen." Bucky pulls you onto his lap & he holds you for a long time in silence. You offered him comfort any way you could. You understand now why he was so affected by this mission. "You need to talk to me and tell me what's going on. You can't shut me out, Buck. I was so worried. If the situation was flipped, how would you handle me shutting down on you?"
"Not well." He gives you a slight smile.
Nodding, "exactly." You lean back against him as he wraps you in his arms.
"I'm sorry."
*******
Steve picks up Abby and visits with Ms Grace before returning to the Tower, hoping you and Bucky ironed out your differences. He texts you both letting you know he's got Abs in the common room watching TV.
"You knows what, Uncle Steve?"
"No, what Abs."
"Chloe and Mia says a new Lilo & Stitch movies coming outs."
"Oh, yea? Wow."
Abby stands up on the couch next to Steve and slings her arm across his shoulders. "Rights?? I so 'cited! You know what, Uncle Steve?"
"No, what Abs?"
"You wants to take me to the Lilo & Stitch movies?"
"Won't your Mama and Bucky take you to see it? Did they say no?" Steve has to ask. He's not going to be caught up in one of Abby's tricks and get in trouble with you.
"Mama gonna takes me, but you can takes me," holding up two fingers, "two time." She gives Steve a sweet smile.
"Abigail."
She cackles. "What if I likes it so much and wants to sees it again? Like Wicked?"
Steve rolls his eyes, "Fine. If you like it so much, I'll take you to watch it again."
Abby squashes her cheek against Steve's while strangling him around the neck, "Oh, tank you! Yous the best Uncle in all the worlds!" She sees Bucky in the doorway and Uncle Steve is quickly forgotten. "Papa! You homes!!" She bounces off the couch and runs to Bucky with arms spread wide.
Bucky steps back, away from your incoming toddler, banging into you. "It's ok, Bucky."
Abby doesn't slow down, so Bucky is forced to catch her and lift her into his arms. "I missed-ed you so much!" Abby peppers his face with kisses. She pulls away & squishes his face between her palms, "You missed-ed me, too?" A happy hopeful smile on her face.
Bucky nods, answering quietly, "Yea, baby. I missed-ed you, too," dropping a kiss on her nose which makes her do a happy wiggle.

but, why? CHRIS STUNRIOLO x FEM!READER - PART THREE.
Part 1 ∣ Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a smile illuminates your face as you walk across the bar after using the bathroom, jasons eyes finding your instantly. gods, he was gorgeous. so gorgeous. you'd had such a lovely evening and enjoyed every second of his and his friends company, but there was a feeling inside of you that just needed to be home.
"did you manage to get an uber?" he asked as you reached him, his hand reaching for your instantly as you sit down. you plaster on a smile and lean forward to drop a small kiss to his lips. gods, those lips.
"yeah. it'll be here shortly." you say, pulling back away and squeezing his hand tightly before letting go, grabbing your drink and finishing the final sip. you had no idea how many drinks you'd had over the last few hours. jason and his friends had done a fine job of ensuring your purse and bank card stayed firmly away, and a drink was always in your hand.
"I feel so bad. are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" he leans forward, his hand finding your thigh. your leg tenses on contact, and a warmth washes over you as his hand slowly rubs against your bare skin. "we could go back to mine. or yours." he drops kiss behind your ear and you let out a shaky breath.
truthfully, you had fully expect the night to end exactly like that. you'd made every effort possible, you'd cleaned your apartment within an inch of its life incase he finally came back with you, but still, as much as his touch and his voice was incredibly tempting, tonight didn't feel the night.
"i promise, next time." you flush. and he chuckles into your ear before pulling away, giving your thigh a quick squeeze. "anyway," you start, looking around at his friends who are all around your table, laughing and joking with each other. "imagine what this lot would say if we ran off together."
jason chuckles, picking up his drink. "i dont care, as long as its you im running off with."
your phone pings at exactly the wrong time. your heart swells. you almost want to curse yourself for texting him. asking him to pick you up. theres a light blush against your cheeks and you're about to say something when one of his friends slaps his shoulder, leaning forward and passing another drink forward. you take your chance to look at your phone, seeing his name and letting out a smile.
"i didn't get you one, y/n." your head whips up. "unless you've decided to stay?"
you smile at jasons friend, before you grab your bag from the arm of your chair.
"my ride just got here, but thank you." you smile, starting to stand up. jason follows suit, and you give him a quick look before turning to his friends. you thank them all for a wonderful night, and to your surprise every single one of them stands up to give you a hug. it takes a while, all 5 boys pulling you in and wishing to see you soon, but when you finally spin back to jason, he's made his way to the bar and is leaning against it, staring at you deeply. you walk your way over, and your hands find his neck immediately.
"im busy for the next few days," he starts, and you nod. "but can i call you tomorrow? and the day after that? and then the day after that?"
you laugh, dropping your head down before looking back at him. "of course."
he smiles, leaning forward to brush his lips to yours and you accept gratefully. "let me walk you out." he says, and your heart rate speeds slightly, but you give him a smile.
"im fine, babe. go enjoy yourself."
he's hesitant, but he smiles before leaning forward to drop another kiss."let me know when you're home safe, please." he whispers into your lips.
"of course" you whisper back, and then you give him a final peck before squeezing his arm slightly, and walking away. a laugh escapes you as you hear his table of friends cheer at him as he walks back, and it takes everything in you not to turn around and stare at him one last time.
and yet, the minute you get outside and are greeted by your best friend, you heart leaps a little.
"your carriage awaits" he speaks, leant against the wall. your smile falters as you role your eyes.
"dont gloat" you say, and he laughs, pushing himself off the wall and grabbing you into a hug. your arms are around his back instantly as you give him a squeeze.
"you absolutely stink of vodka" he says into your ear, and you pull away, pushing him away. he laughs, grabbing his car keys from his pocket. "and mr lover boy hasn't even walked you out?"
you roll your eyes again, but grab his wrist for support. "his name is jason. and no. i told him to stay inside."
"such a gentleman" chris mutters, grabbing your arm as you walk towards the car.
"i'll go back inside if you can't be nice." you say, coming to a stand still.
your best friends had become more open over the last few days to your relationship, or not relationship, with jason. but chris still stuck on the fence. disengaging when conversation arose, changing the subject at every possible moment too without it coming across as rude. you had sighed just the night before as you lay in bed with nick, turning over to him and asking him WHY chris was so cold with any man you entered into your life. nick had been hesitant, and he had looked at you like he didn't know what to say for right or wrong, but he had pulled you into a hug and told you to have fun, regardless of what his brother thought.
chris stopped walking too, but a laugh escaped his lips as he slings his arm over your shoulder.
"im only joking, come on, lets get you food."
and so you did. the moment you got in the car and chris played your favourite playlist, you felt the most relaxed you had had all evening. you were drunk, so incredibly drunk, and for some reason chris' energy and presence had bought it out in you. but he took it in his stride. he laughed with you, he payed for your food without question and he sang along to all your favourite songs with you.
when he finally pulled up, at his and the boys house you noticed, you grabbed your phone out of your bag and pinged jason a message to let him know you were home safely, and thanked him again for a great night. when you put your phone back away, chris was staring at you intensely.
"what?" you laugh, grabbing your drink from the cup holder at the side of you. the full sugar pepsi after copious amounts of wine was much welcomed.
chris stared at you, but shrugged as he turned to get out the car. the moment long forgotten when your phone pinged again. you got out of the car, drink in hand and your heart jumped a little when you saw jasons message, telling you he would call you in the morning. placing your phone back in your bag, you make your way towards chris.
"i don't remember asking you to bring me back here" you joke, slipping your hand into his. he looked down at your hands before he interlocked them, grabbing your closer.
"i don't remember you telling me to take you home, either." he jokes. you laugh.
"if you want to spend more time with me, you only have to ask." you say back, hitting his shoulder with yours.
but chris says nothing as you walk into their house, chaos descending the minute nick hears your heels on the floor. you're pulled from chris' arms immedately, nick spinning you round and asking you for every single little detail possible about the night. you were a smirking giddy mess by the time you were done, explaining all the times jason had squeezed your thighs under the table, the kisses behind your ear. nick had listened and gasped in all the right places, but it was matt who bought you back to earth as he flung himself down on the couch after listening from the kitchen.
"so, why the fuck are you here and not at his house?"
you whip your head to him immediately, but it takes you a second. because you're not sure. your eyes scan to chris, and he's staring at you again, exactly how he did in the car. it isn't lost on you that you can't seem to tear your eyes away from him.
"does it fucking matter, matt?" nick chimes, and your trance is broken as you turn around to nick. you smile, internally thanking him for speaking out. you hear matt chuckle behind you, and then nick is on his feet.
"are you staying the night? fuck why am i even asking, you're absolutely staying the night. i have some of your make up wipes in my bathroom. matt, did you throw her stuff from last night into the laundry?"
you spin round to matt, and he stand immediately. "yeah, let me get them."
you smile. "can i borrow a hoodie?"
matt rolls his eyes, but gives you a grin afterwards. you laugh, sinking back into the couch, flinging your heels off onto the floor and pulling your knees into your chest. but when the room becomes silent, matt and nick in other rooms, chris' voice pops up.
"why did you?"
you look to him immediately. you screw your eyebrows. "huh?"
"why did you? come back here? why didn't you stay and end the night with him"
"i-"
he doesn't let you answer.
"what was your excuse for coming home?"
you gulp. "i said i was tired."
"and who did you tell him was giving you a ride?"
you pause. "i told him i called an uber."
he stares at you for what feels like an eternity, before he stands up.
"i cant do this."
"chris-"
but he's off down the stairs to his room before you can say something else.

Hi hi! It’s your tenant living in your asks box again. I saw that your requests were open. Could I request a mafia boss!Jing yuan with a reader who his men kidnapped by mistake. Like they thought she was the daughter of some politician who wronged them so they kidnapped her by mistake. I imagine Jing yuan would go:
“you know too much, but I would hate to kill you…be my wife?”
I think mafia!Jing yuan would be a manipulative person so he would have his men try to intimidate reader so he could swoop in and save her, kinda like a good cop bad cop and he’s her knight in shining armor.
Song inspo: shameless by Camila cabello
As always, have a nice day <333 and it’s fine if you don’t fulfill the request immediately or you’re uncomfortable with writing this.
There's not a lot that makes me uncomfortable. In fact, there was one instance that made me drop my phone. It was when I was talking with someone on here (they were telling me about their oc and who they ship their oc with) and then they started talking about kinks all of the sudden and sent me collar and leash pictures without any warning whatsoever and even asked me to pick a color and style of collar and leash 😭
Point is, talking about kinks isn't what makes me uncomfortable, it's asking me to pick a color and style for the collar and leash while sending me pictures of said things
MOVING ON I'm cool with talking and writing about anything just don't send me pictures of ... stuff
For clarification, the pictures you send are fine cause they are like normal and cute, you know? And I genuinely like seeing the jy merch you collect and the jy pictures you send
Sorry for the rant... 😔
side note, I love that song! I listened to it yesterday!!!
Tumblr media
Mafia Boss!Jing Yuan x Reader
cw; reader is referred to with she/her pronouns
Tumblr media
“This isn’t her, you idiot!”
“H- huh? But- but- look at her hair! It’s the same color and style as the daughter’s!”
“Yeah, but daughter is fifteen years old! Does this look like a fifteen year old to you?!”
“No…”
“Right! You just kidnapped a college student! From a college campus! With her college book bag as she was leaving her college class going to the college bus where she will most likely go to her car with what she uses to go to what? College!”
The man who was yelling slapped his hands to his face in defeat, he didn’t know what he was going to do. If they let you then the cops will be on them and the boss already got them off the first time…
“Ok, so I messed up, what are we going to do now?”
The man looked to the one who messed up and then at the door to the room that you were being held in.
“We’ll just have to get rid of her. Hide her body some where and chalk it up to a college student dropping out and running away from her problems.”
“Will the news even believe that?”
“College students have done worse to get out of their studies.”
The man (we’ll call him Dave), grabbed his gun while the one who messed up (he’ll be nicknamed Charlie), followed after him.
“We’ll shoot her in the head to make it quick,” Dave said as Charlie nodded in confirmation.
Opening the door, however, they were greeted with a different sight.
You were already out of your restraints and laughing at some stupid joke, and their boss was sitting with you and smiling in such a way that was unknown to them.
“B- boss?!”
Dave was quick to holster his gun and hide it beneath his jacket.
Jing Yuan’s gaze shifted to the two men, his smile turning into one that was a bit more strained. Oh, they were in trouble.
“Boys, this lovely lady here was just telling me all that has happened to her in the past few hours, to ease her trouble mind I let her out of her restraints and even told her a few jokes to pass the time until you both came back in here.”
“Listen boss, we-,” but Charlie cut himself off with one sharp look from Jing Yuan. His words dying within his throat in milliseconds as he shrunk a little under Jing Yuan’s scrutinizing gaze.
“This mistake will not happen again,” Jing Yuan said as he stood up and held his hand out for you which you found yourself happily taking. Leaving this room with Jing Yuan definitely beat staying in it.
“Yes sir,” the two mumbled as you both passed them by.
“Thank you again, Mr-“
“There is no need for formalities,” he said as he led you up some stairs and away from the dark rooms that you were held in.
You nodded as you continued to hold his hand, “I- I know that you are probably not a good person in the eyes of the law and everything, but- but I promise not to say anything-“
He hushed you gently as he led you down another hall, this one a bit more brightly lit than the other one.
“I’m afraid that isn’t possible.”
“But why-“
He stopped then, making you stop with him as he turned to look down at you. His free hand came up to grab your chin and make you loop up at him. His thumb slowly moving to press against your lips as his eyes lingered there for a moment before flicking up to meet your eyes.
“Because I have many enemies, my dear, and the moment you’re seen leaving and it’s not in a body bag, then I’m afraid you’ll just become a target and hunted down by people who will torture you for information you do not have.”
What he was saying was scaring you, but what you didn’t know was that Jing Yuan was both resourceful and influential. If he wanted to, then he could make it seem like you were invisible as you left his headquarters, but he wouldn’t let you know that.
“So what- I’m supposed to stay here? What about my school? My friends and family?”
“Oh, I’m not saying that those things are being taken from you. In fact, you’re free to go back to your classes and visit friends and family anytime you want once we make sure it’s safe. However, with that in mind, you’ll also be affiliated with me.”
He stopped pressing his thumb to your lips and tugged your chin and you hand he was holding at the same time, forcing you two be even closer to him.
“Affiliated how?”
“News around the town is already saying how you’re my wife, and to better protect you, we might as well make those rumors a reality.”
“Your what?!”

*Little Bit of Help – Glen Powell
Tumblr media
Warnings: sneaking around, rough sex, shower sex, unprotected, language
Glen and I first started hooking up after he got back from working with his ex-girlfriend and I found out my boyfriend was cheating on me. I was drinking away my pain at home and called him up. He was also drunk and I told him that I needed a guy who knew how to take care of a woman. I needed him.
He came over and we hooked up. The next morning, we woke up and he rushed off. Later that night, our friends all went to a bar. Glen and I awkwardly avoided each other. Until I walked out of the bathroom and he was waiting right there for me. The second I walked out, he pulled me into his chest and kissed me again.
After spending another night in bed together, we woke up the next morning and forced ourselves to talk about it. We both admitted to enjoying sleeping together, but we also both knew that our friends wouldn't like the idea of us hooking up. We then decided to keep our hook-ups a secret.
We've been hooking up for almost a year. Two of our friends, Luke and Taylor, were engaged when we first met and were getting married this weekend. We rented an Airbnb on the beach, down the street from the wedding venue. The night before the wedding, we decided to go to a beachfront bar.
I walked downstairs, careful not to trip over my dress. I was aware of the eyes watching me but pretended I didn't. When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I leaned over and "fixed" my shoe.
"Fuck," I heard Glen groan.
I looked up and smirked. "Oh, hey, Glen. The rest of the guys ready to go to the bar?"
"You're going in that dress?" He practically growled.
"Something wrong with my dress?" I asked, putting my hands on my hips and purposefully poking out my chest.
"No," he said, his voice deep. "It's just. . . Some guy is going to take one look and. . . Fuck, I want to tear that off you."
I gasped when he pulled me into his chest and pressed his lips to mine. I moaned as I threw my arms around his neck and we started roughly moving our lips in sync. Without breaking the kiss, Glen pulled us down the hallway and tucked us into the library.
Glen moaned as he picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist. Our lips were still moving in sync as he carried us to the couch. He sat down, putting me on his lap. We let out matching moanes as he grabbed my hips and started grinding them against his.
I tore my lips away from his and moved them to his neck. He leaned his head back and moaned as I started slightly nibbling on his neck.
"Shit, Y/N," he moaned. I bit his neck before pulling away.
"What's wrong?" I pouted as I continued grinding my hips against his. "Isn't this what you're worried some random guy at the bar will do to me?"
I gasped when he roughly pulled me into his chest and rolled us over so he was hovering over me. I smirked as he grabbed my dress and yanked it up.
"Fuck," he said through his teeth when he realized I wasn't wearing anything under my dress. As Glen undid his pants, I slowly pulled the straps of my dress off my shoulders.
"Now," he grunted as he scanned me. "Where were we?"
I grabbed his face and brought his lips roughly to mine. Our lips moved in sync as Glen lined himself up. I bit his bottom lip when he pushed himself into me.
We took turns biting each other's lips as our hips rocked together. I pulled him closer, moaning when he pushed further into me. We could hear our friends talking and getting ready around us, but that just turned us on more.
"Glen," I said, as he turned his focus on my neck. "We're supposed. . . We're going. . ."
"What's wrong, baby girl?" He growled into my ear.
"Nothing," I stuttered between moans. "Except our friends are going to be looking for us."
"Hang on," he said, his voice low. "We're almost there."
I arched my back to help him along. It worked because he swore under his breath. We looked into each other's eyes as we pushed the other over the edge. We let out matching sighs as we reached orgasm. I gasped when Glen gently pulled out of me.
He stayed hovering over me, looking into my eyes. Behind lots of hesitation, I could tell there was something on Glen's mind. I was about to ask him what was wrong but Luke's voice echoed throughout the house.
"You guys ready to go?"
Glen and I smirked at each other. He kissed me again before pulling the both of us to our feet. Without breaking eye contact, Glen redid his pants and I fixed my dress.
"You go out first," he said. "I'll leave in a second and make it seem like I was down the hall in the bathroom."
I fixed my hair and walked past him. I gasped when Glen slapped my ass. I turned toward him and pointed my finger at him.
"Careful, Powell," I playfully warned him.
"Or what?" He challenged, taking a step toward me and lowering his voice. I stood on my toes, getting my face inches from his.
"Or I'll have to punish you."
* * * * *
We spent the night drinking and dancing at the bar. Eventually, we took our party to the beach between the bar and our Airbnb. We laughed as a couple of our friends danced around the bonfire, singing very loudly and off-key.
I stood up to get another beer when I bumped into someone. I gasped when their red wine went right down the front of my dress. I looked up to see Glen in front of me. The look on his face told me he did this on purpose.
"What happened?!" My friend Claire gasped.
"Glen can't be trusted with a wine glass," I said not looking away from Glen.
"You spilled your drink down her dress?" Claire asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"I didn't mean to," Glen smirked.
I sent him a knowing look before heading into the house. I jogged upstairs and headed to the bathroom. I grabbed a cloth and started dabbing at the stain. I looked up and could see Glen walking into the bathroom through the mirror.
"You're never going to get it out like that."
"Oh yeah?" I asked, not turning around as I continued to dab at my chest.
"At least let me help," he said, his voice darkening as he slammed the bathroom door behind him and locked it.
I gasped when he roughly grabbed my arms and spun me around. He took the rag out of my hand and pressed it to the stain. "Is this helping?" He asked, not moving his hand from my chest. I closed my eyes, slightly leaning back, as Glen started slowly massaging my chest.
"Fuck, baby," I moaned as I started moving my chest against his hand.
"You know what might help," he said slowly, "is if you rinsed out your dress in the shower."
"I might need help," I said, choking back my moans. Glen chuckled as he dropped the rag. He grabbed my hand and walked me over to the shower. He turned it on and pulled me into his chest.
He leaned down and crashed his lips to mine. As I kissed him back, I reached up and started unbuttoning his shirt. Before I could completely take off his shirt, he pulled me into the shower. The second the water hit us, we let out half-giggles, half-moans. Glen grabbed my hips and broke the kiss. Still holding my hips, he slowly turned me around. I leaned my head back against his shoulder as the warm water hit my chest.
Using his finger, Glen turned my chin and pressed his lips to mine. I reached around and ran my fingers through his hair as my lips moved messily in sync. Goosebumps popped up all over me as Glen slowly reached up and slid one of my straps off my shoulder.
I disconnected my lips from his long enough for me to turn around. The second I was facing him, I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him.
Things sped up. I tore off his shirt. He pulled down my other strap. I undid his pants. He unzipped my dress. We broke apart long enough for him to take off his pants and for me to take off my dress. With our clothes in the separate corners of the shower, we continued to satisfy each other.
I moaned when Glen pushed me up against the tile and slowly grinded his body against mine. I ran my fingers through his hair, slightly pulling on it to make him moan. He grabbed one of my legs and wrapped it around him. I arched my back when he pushed into me.
"Glen," I gasped. He hummed but didn't stop what he was doing. "We should probably. . . Our friends will be back soon. We should. . ."
"We should go to my room," he said as he nibbled on my earlobe. I grabbed onto his shoulders for stability when he pulled out of me. He turned off the shower and we quickly threw on towels.
I laughed when Glen slowly opened the door, making a show of waiting for any sign that our friends were back from the beach.
"I think we're clear," he whispered extremely loudly.
I giggled when he grabbed my hand and quickly pulled me down the hall and toward his room. The second we slipped through the door, Glen locked it and pulled me into his chest. We laughed as we looked into each other's eyes.
He reached up and slowly tucked a piece of hair out of my face. He opened his mouth like he was going to say something. Instead of saying what was on his mind, he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. He pulled me closer and wrapped his arms around my waist as our lips moved messily in sync.
Without breaking the kiss, Glen picked me up and carried me to his bed. The second we fell onto his bed, we discarded each other's towels.
I smiled into the kiss as Glen pulled the comforter over our bare bodies. We didn't bother stopping when we heard our friends come home. They were laughing and joking all the way up the stairs. The only thing we stopped was moaning out loud and screaming each other's names.
Long after everyone else had gone to bed, we finished. I moaned as Glen rolled off of me. We lay on the bed, both of us struggling to catch our breaths.
"You think that got the wine stain out?" He asked with a small chuckle.
"Not at all," I giggled. "My dress is crumbled in the shower."
I rolled over, draping my arm across his bare chest. He reached up and started dragging his fingers up and down my arm.
"I'll buy you a new dress."
"Considering the fact that you purposefully dumped your wine down my chest?" I teased. I made him moan when I quickly rolled over, straddling his stomach. "You definitely owe me a new dress."
* * * * *
"I'm getting married today!" Luke yelled as he ran into Glen's room. We jumped awake. I quickly grabbed the blanket, covering my chest.
"Oh," Luke said, slowly laughing, "sorry, you two. Carry on."
The room was silent as he left. I looked over my shoulder to see Glen smirking at me.
"Oops," he chuckled.
"Yeah," I said slowly. "We should have. . . I mean. . ."
I ran my fingers through my hair, overthinking our friends' finding out about us.
"You know," he said, reaching over and grabbing my hand, "we don't have to keep sneaking around. My friends already know I'm into you. They'll be relieved that I finally did something about it."
"They know that you're. . ."
Glen turned more toward me and pulled me so I was facing him. "I'm crazy about you," he whispered. "I haven't stopped thinking about you since the first night we slept together. I want this to be official, Y/N. Be my girlfriend. Please. I love sneaking around and having our way with each other without our friends knowing, but I want this to be real. I want to be able to hold your hand in public, take you on dates, kiss you in front of our friends, and call you mine."
"Do our friends already know we've been sleeping together?"
"No," he said gently. "But the guys do know that I've changed."
"Changed?"
"I've always had a crush on you, Y/N," he smiled. "But my crush changed when we first hooked up. I became more aware of you and what you were saying and doing. I smiled when you smiled. I laughed when you laughed. I blushed when you wore a gorgeous dress. The guys noticed it. They just didn't know what caused the crush to get crazier."
He cupped my face in his hand and gently pressed his lips to mine. I threw my arms around him as I deepened the kiss.
"To be fair," I whispered, breaking the kiss, "the girls know I've had a crush on you for a while."
"They do?" He asked, not bothering to hide his smirk.
"After we hooked up, I started focusing a lot more on what you were saying and doing. I smiled when you smiled. I laughed when you laughed. I blushed when you looked incredibly handsome. The girls noticed it. They just didn't know what caused the crush to get crazier."
Glen smiled as he pulled me into him and kissed me. This kiss was slow and gentle.
"Glen," I stopped the kiss. "Let's not tell anyone about us."
"Why not?"
"I don't want to take away from Taylor and Luke's wedding."
Glen laughed before he said, "Luke walked in on us in bed together, Y/N. Something tells me the second we leave this room, all of our friends will already know about us."
