The first time Cesar truly felt fear was the night he saw a lost teenage girl on La Luna, just outside a bodega, at nine o'clock at night. He'd gone out for a walk after an argument with his tío. Thought he would take some time to cool off before he found himself on the wrong end of a pair of brass knuckles. He made a mental note never to buy a pair.

    It was a warm summer night, and he found himself wearing a simple black t-shirt and blue jeans - he would have to trade them in eventually, especially if Oscar was getting out soon. If Andrés was right, he would have to join the Santos by the end of summer, and all hope of feeling like a regular teenager would go out the window in an instant.

    He had just made it into Sanctuary when he saw her. She was standing on the corner of La Luna, a block away from the abandoned train station and across the street from a crappy bodega that paid taxes to the Santos every month. She turned her head, looking both ways, clearly trying to figure out where she was.

    Normally, he would have let her figure it out. A person that was willing to stay out past curfew on gang territory was a person confident enough to defend themselves. Cesar shoved his hands into his pockets as he waited for her to pull out a phone and call for help, the eerie silence on the street starting to eat away at him. It was when three Santos drunkenly stumbled out of the bodega that he sped up his pace.

    "What'd I tell you?" One of the members grinned, waving the pile of cash in his hand. "I ain't even have to say 'tax time.' Them Prophets are bitches."

    "You better get that shit to Andrés in the morning," another one warned. "Puta doesn't like having his money missing."

    "Que se joda!" The one with the money threw the money at him, cackling as it rained down.

    Cesar swerved off the sidewalk, attempting to pass by the drunkards without getting their attention. He kept his eyes trained on the concrete, occasionally glancing up at the girl to ensure she was still there.

    "Yo!" A hand clamped down on Cesar's shoulder, spinning his around. It was the guy who had thrown the money. Beneath his jaw, the name 'Malakai' was tattooed in cursive. "Oh, shit! It's Lil Spooky."

    'Shit,' He thought to himself. 'Think fast, asshole.'

    "Aye, Lil Spooky!" The second one exclaimed. He took a sip from the bottle in his brown bottle in his hand. "I ain't seen you since you was a little chico. Cuantos años tienes, eh?"

    "Tengo quince. Listen, I can't stay. I got my hyna waiting for me, and I can't keep her waiting," He lied smoothly.

   "Quince? Damn. I remember when Andrés had to carry your ass inside 'cause the music was too fuckin' loud. What you think now, Lil Spooky?" He swung the end of his bottle against an open door. It shattered, leaving bits of broken glass on the end as he held it up to Cesar's neck. "Things getting too loud for you?"

    Maybe there was one good thing that came with finally joining the Santos: he wouldn't have to deal with assholes like this.

    Ever since Oscar was put away, some of the Santos were getting hard to control. Andrés did his best, but he didn't have a reputation -- at least, not the way Oscar did. He was soft on his punishments but strong on his legislation. It had made in-fighting inevitable. Cesar was his nephew. He supposed he should have expected people to turn against him, too.

    "Watch your tone." Cesar lowered his voice, not breaking eye contact with the bastard in front of him. "Spooky's getting out in a couple days. What's he gonna say when he finds out some bitches were fucking with his little brother?"

    He was bluffing. Anyone that knew Cesar, knew that he could've gone another three years without speaking to his brother and he wouldn't have even blinked; but he didn't even recognize the guys in front of him. If it weren't for the white tank tops and crosses around their necks, he would've just as easily believed they were Prophets. If they didn't believe him, both he and the girl on La Luna would be fucked.

    The guy shoved him off, tossing the bottle onto the street. "Maricón. Let me know when Spooky's out. He's got a debt he needs to pay off."

    Without another word, he popped a cigarette into his mouth, lighting it. Cesar nodded and turned on his heel, only to see the girl walking in the direction of the train station. He winced, only turning when 'Malakai' called out for him once more. "Oh, and tell your tío we'll bring him his taxes in the morning."

    'Do not engage,' Cesar thought to himself. He jogged across the empty street, stopping a few paces before the girl before cupping his hands around his mouth. "Hey! You really shouldn't be out here, alone at night. Freeridge isn't that type of hood."

    The girl turned around, a look of fear crossing her face before it fell into relief. "Shit. I'm sorry, I'm just trying to get to my friend's house. His name is Judas Medina. Do you know him?"

    She spoke softly, speaking with her hands and with rapid movements. Cesar couldn't help but grin. "No, I don't know him, sorry. If you have his address, I could help you, though."

    "Uh..." She looked around, scratching the back of her head awkwardly.

    Cesar nodded, pulling out his phone and tossing it to her. She caught it with ease. "The password's two-six-seven-three. You can dial the police if you really think you're in danger, but let me walk you to this Judas guy. I don't wanna risk you getting hurt."

   The girl unlocked his phone, going into his contacts and hitting the keypad. She bit her lip, locking eyes with the stranger in front of her. He looked a bit younger than her, with his hair covered in an absurd amount of gel and a pleading look on his face. After a moment, she nodded, and typed in Judas' address in his Maps app.

    "You are thirty minutes from your destination. You should arrive at your destination by 9:35PM."

    "I'm Maya." She nodded, keeping the phone in her left hand as she reached out to shake the boy's hand.

    He smiled then, shaking her hand. "Cesar."

    The two followed the phone's signals, walking side-by-side as Cesar scanned the perimeter for any threats. They walked in silence for all of three minutes before Maya started talking. "So, it's pretty obvious I'm not from around here, huh?"

    "Just a little," Cesar chuckled, putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "Where are you from, anyway?"

    "San Diego. I live there with my dad and his girlfriend during the school year. Every summer, I come here and spend time with my mom," Maya explained. "We were supposed to have dinner tonight; but she fell asleep, and I didn't feel like waking her."

    "Right. So you're going to this Judas guy to steal all his food and then run?"

    "Would that be so bad?" She winked, running a hand through her honey-blonde hair. "What about you?"

    Cesar grimaced. "I've always lived in Freeridge. Can't really imagine a life outside of it."

    "Come on, that's bullshit." She rolled her eyes. "There's a whole world out there, with different countries, cultures, people -- and you're telling me you can't imagine a world outside of Southside L.A.?"

    He shrugged. "What's the point if I can't see it?"

    Maya huffed, muttering the word "tarado" beneath her breath. Cesar only grinned, somewhat pleased that he'd managed to get on her nerves considering they'd met only a little while ago. He moved to walk in front of her. She scrunched her nose in annoyance, glaring at him through her eyelashes.

    "So, how old are you? Like, seventeen?"

    "I just turned sixteen," she replied, hand still gripping the GPS in her left hand.

    "And your parents are letting you travel alone? That's weird. I would'a thought San Diego kids were spoiled."

    "I would'a thought you weren't a Santo," she shrugged half-heartedly. "And it's not a big deal. My dad works late, so he couldn't bring me to the train station, and my mom passed out as soon as we got to the house."

    "How'd you know I was a Santo?"

    "Seriously?" Maya snorted. She took a step closer to him, wrapping her finger around the chain on Cesar's neck. He looked down, only to see a silver cross hanging above his chest. "Check the ice, ese. Either you're a Santo, or you're religious."

    "I'm affiliated," Cesar muttered, tucking the pendant into his t-shirt. "Why? Does that bother you?"

    "I'm letting you walk me to my best friend's house in the dark, in a neighborhood I'm unfamiliar with." She turned the corner, only to be met with a street lined with houses. "You being gang-affiliated is the least of my problems."

    They reached the third house in silence. It was nice -- luxurious, even -- compared to the other places Cesar had seen. This Judas guy must be really classy. As Maya went to ring the doorbell, he turned and asked, "So what's this guy like?"

    Before she could respond, the door swung open, revealing a short, pale boy with messy dark hair and sweatpants. "Maya! Fuck, I wasn't expecting you until the morning. My folks are in the living room, but we can hang in my room." His eyes drifted to Cesar, and they immediately filled with shock. "No shit. You're Lil Spooky! Maya, you're fucking with gang members now? I don't blame you. He looks better than A-A-Ron."

    "You put the 'ass' in 'class,' Judas. Let us in. I'm starving." She pushed the door open, walking past him with ease.

    "I'll leave, if you want," Cesar told Judas. He would understand if he did. There would be a target on his back if people knew he was associated with Cesar, even if he was just 'affiliated.' "She didn't have a phone. I just wanted to make sure she got here safe."

    Judas furrowed his eyebrows. "You walked her all the way here?" When Cesar nodded, he continued, "From where?"

    "La Luna Drive," He answered, the cross around his neck suddenly feeling hot against his skin. "There were guys coming outta the bodega. they were drunk, and aggressive. Looked like they were gonna cause trouble."

    "Do you think I'm gonna let you in just because you pretended to be el salvador for half an hour?" He sneered.

    "No, I didn't mean it like that--"

    'Boyfriend,' Cesar thought to himself. 'Got it.'

    The cold look in his eyes shifted, turning to amusement. Judas grinned happily, opening the door wide in an effort to invite him in. "I'm just fucking with you, Lil Spooky. Come on in."

    "Actually, it's fine. I should get back. My tío is probably worried sick," Cesar started, suddenly uncomfortable.

   "No seas marica, asshole. Maya's still gonna need help getting home." Judas turned on his heel, heading deeper into the house. After a few seconds, he yelled, "Are you coming or not?"

    'What the fuck?' Cesar thought to himself, before taking a few steps, walking into the house and shutting the door behind him. He was met with a dark room, lit up only by the TV on one end of the living room and a kitchen light to his left. In tbe kitchen, Maya was raiding the fridge, a box of Cheeze-Itz in one hand and a pack of Mountain Dew in the other.

    She glanced up at him and grinned. "You want something?"

    "Uh, water's good." He followed behind Maya and Judas as they grabbed several snacks, laughing and catching up like old friends.

    Judas pulled a few bottles of water out of the fridge before heading out and turning into a hallway. "So, how is A-A-Ron these days?"

    "Still in love with Alivia," Maya sighed, her hand tightening around a bag of potato chips. "They've been going strong for, like, two years. I don't know why you bother asking anymore."

    "Fuck him. What kind of name is Aaron anyway? Un nombre de puta, I'll tell you that." Judas' room was at the end of the hall. He set his snacks down on a wooden desk before motioning for Maya to do the same. Cesar went to sit on a surprisingly neat bed, though the headboard looked worn in for a reason he didn't want to ask about.

    Maya threw a water bottle at Cesar, eyes still trained on the bags of junk food in front of her. It landed at the end of the bed, nearly tumbling off the edge. He chortled as he went to pick it up. As he began to take a sip, Judas threw himself on the worn-out computer chair in front of him.

    "All right. I have one fucking question for you and you better answer it honestly," Judas stated.

    Cesar nodded stiffly. Confrontations like this felt all too personal. He fought the instinct to stand up and leave.

    The Colombian boy leaned in, his face painted in curiosity. "Are you scared of ghosts?"

Imagine you are reading something and it ends like this?? Can a writer do this to people? Can a writer survive writing like this? And more importantly what is this?? Read along and hey follow along... time to take the brakes off of story telling and introduce the first of many in the "UNTITLED FOR NOW" series...

Untitled for now begins with three characters: Teapot, Treyein and then we have Jug. The opening scene features a cry for help from Teapot and a sad confession of guilt from Treyein... and we start to examine the characters beginning with Jug.

Teapot – Hey Jug? You busy

Jug – Never too busy for you

Teapot – Thank You for your kind words

Can you come over, I would rather talk to you about this face to face.

Jug – GPS says 25 minutes, see you about 2000hrs

Jug has no idea what he is about to walk into and that does not matter because in his world his friend of 22 years needs him and has prioritized her over all things.

Meanwhile Teapot was fuming.. IVE HAD ENOUGH, the jokes, the innaprorpiate touching has to stop, enough is enough and she must escalate things before she finds herself in Wednesday’s episode of SVU.

Text message from Treyein comes in, Teapot begins to read it..

Treyein – look tea, I have decided to check myself into a rehab facility, I recognize in myself that I have demons in my past I must let go of or I will never manifest into the beautiful person I am inside.  I hope this move inspires you to somehow take your leap towards greatness.  You have so much to offer the World and I truly will pray nightly that you live in your gift.

Teapot – My life will never be the same because of you – you have literally taken my (knock, knock, knock) throws phone on the bed.

Teapot – opens door and greets Jug with a hug

Jug – well hello, nice to see you too, you look nice, nails done I see you tea... pot!! knowing damn well I love the white tip nails..… wait!!! what is this??? some sort of setup???. Are you about to tell me we are dating? What did I walk into.. you sittin around lookin all good..... smellin like YSL and lookin even better than you smell.  Look, three letters woman!!! I DO

Teapot – laughing and smiling, no no no no no, we are not dating

Jug – sigh of relief and disappointment, don’t act like if I didn’t really try and holla you wouldn’t oblige

Teapot – shrugs, grabs Jugs hand… more serious now – come in, lets talk things right now for me are….. tear drop

Jug – hugs her closely, sweetheart what is wrong? What is going on? Jug silences his phone, takes off his shoes and hurry’s back to teapot.. grabs her face – look at me? I’m in the moment completely with you – talk to me.

Teapot – I need some time, just be here with me, tell me how you are doing? I will tell you I just need some time to gather myself…

Jug – Well look it doesn’t really matter how I am doing.. Please, you cannot hold this inside of you it is going to drive you down a dark road

Teapot – I know I know I know… just please you go first.

Jug for the first time in his life was asked how he was doing? Jugs mind instantly drifted to where it all started for Jug...

It was hot outside and Jug had to walk home from two a days football practice – now Jug lived below the hill and practice was above the hill so Jug started his journey towards the bottom. His feet draggin.. head down.. he all dirty with the long day face going on…sweaty.. smellin like last weeks practice…whoooo Jug was hurtin that day..… not even halfway into the walk a voice yells out of one of the homes:

Voice: Hey N WORD!!!! Get outta my neighborhood..

Naw I’m just playin, the Voice didnt say that..

Not even halfway into the walk a voice can be heard saying..

Voice: Whats up g? And there she was.. Teapot!!

Teapot goes outside with her wifle ball bat and says you hungry I got some pringles inside.

Jug: with all the life brought back into his body from that statement, Yes I am.

Jug went inside and banged some pepperoni pizza pringles and enjoyed some good conversation.  That day 22 years ago jumpstarted an unbelievable friendship that stands stronger each day that passes.  Jug was introduced to an entire different world on that day he had never seen a two parent home, food in the pantry and refrigerator, candles smelling all good, a garage, Jugs life changed that day.  Jug would have to eventually walk down that hill and go to his home but Jug was completely in that moment wit tea and Jug was and has proven to be forever grateful for the value meeting teapot has brought to his life.  Jug provided entertainment and Jug is good at it, you know the sober guy that’s loving life, the only one on the dancefloor, singing and talking the loudest like hey look at me.  That is Jug, the go to guy for anything you trying to do good or bad because Jug has lived.  Jug travels the country for fun, he has made a living by traveling to countries and providing some of the most epic memories in travel history.  You look at Jug and just automatically get inspired ladies love him, businesses respect his word and opinions. Jug has the President’s personal number and thats him -- the only person that can make the impossible possible – it is so important to have those people in your life that can connect with every age group and just find a common ground between different parties.  You just have to see this man to believe this man.

Growing up Jug went to the community academy that required Jug to spend 7 days at the academy and he would go home for a total of 16 hours and after the 16 hours Jug would head back to the academy to finish out his next 7 days he did this for 6 years in lieu of elementary school.  Well in year three at the academy Jug was minding his own business and Jug went home for his 16 hour leave period and Jugs mom pops Jug in the back of the head like “wtf” Jug?

Jug: Momma what

Jugs Momma: Boy you been cutting your hair?

Jug: no momma

This continues for two continuous weeks and Jug is completely clueless because when Jug looks in the mirror all he sees is a billion dollar smile that he would sell his self short on if he grins... the dreamy eyes authors make up words to describe.  “Let’s call it hazel”

Jug was winning, fresh lineup, clothes was bummy but hey they all wore the same uniform, so LG.. F is the problem.

Jug strolls into his momma house on  summer leave that next week, and Jug momma put the paws on Jug.  You know the whoopen where you gotta go find the belt and you gotta find the one momma talking about or you gonna get hit wit the wrong belt and told to go find the other one…

when yo momma say “go get the belt” vs. “go get MY belt” the difference and  the tone in those two statements are completely different and has two different sides of the type of ass that gets whipped.  

When you get “the belt” only a little bit of ass is getting tore up so you good… when momma says get “MY BELT” well that my friend is all the ass.

That’s one of them beat downs that go like...

Boy (pop) didn’t (pop) I (pop) tell (pop) you (pop) to (pop) stop (pop) cutting (pop) yo (pop) hair (pop)

Get done you got snot bubbles, had two socks on now one of them outside underneath the car the other in the freezer stuck to the ice tray like its been there for a week.. yeah that type of life

Well a couple days later Jug was in his room iceing his buns when he hears his mothers voice scream out for him under his breath you know what Jug is saying so insert something you’d be saying in lieu of my sentence.

Jug gets up and goes in the other room and his Momma looks at him as if he were a newborn with all the love and desire a mother does and says to Jug.  I scheduled you a doctors appointment I have been talking to some people and they say I should …. Jug interrupts his Mom…

Jug: who is they Mom because if you are about to say what I think you are about to say then I need to meet them immediately.

Jugs Momma: Well what do you think I am about to say

Jug: Well, with all due respect momma - - I think you about to say …. Takes a deep breath and

That …

That umm…

Jugs Momma: say it son, you can tell me

Jug: you sure?

Jugs momma: yes son, you can say whatever it is you are thinking

Jug: I was going to say that I think you are about to say that “they” told you to stop beating my @ and like I been tellin yo xxxx xxx I ain’t been cutting my fxxxx hair, shoot”

Jugs momma: yes son its called alopecia.. wait a second Boy who you talkin.. you know what. Go get the belt…

Jug: sighs and drops his dobber and starts that stroll to the belt room and just as he takes a step momma gone say

Jugs momma: you ain’t gotta go get the belt but you better watch yo mouth, don’t know who you think you in here talkin to like that.. done lost yo mind.. clearly.

Think you talkin to boy.. I…

See when momma told Jug “boy … I” Jug was always curious to know – You’ll what? But Jug is a smart person… Jug takes his Loss… later in life someone told Jug the same phrase .. “boy…I” and Jug being the curious character he is.. Jug said it.. you’ll what? And to Jugs surprise Jug got muffed in the face and Jug would go on to never be curious again about what boy I… means.. because if someone tells you “Boy….I”

That means they are going to muff you.. so take your L.. or say “Boy..I” back to them and get ready for a muffing contest because boy I means nothing more than Boy I will muff you..in the face..

Jugs Momma: Yes son, in grown peoples words that is what I’m saying to you, and "they" is just people that gossip.

Jug: I don’t know momma, I don’t like gossip

Jugs Momma: not like that gossip, boy, shut up, you going to the doctor so go get ready.

School years begins Jug is bald, and Jug gets clowned every single day and Jug laughed along, soaked in the attention and listened to what the kids were saying.  Laughed louder than the other kids, complementing the very kids that were talking so bad about him and Jug had no choice because Jug couldn’t fight and Jug was lost, confused.  Jug knew why they were talking about him but didn’t know how to make it stop so Jug took L’s day in and day out until one day… The King of all Joke makers connected with Jug on a “I’m too great of a jokster to waste time talkin bout yo globe head self” type level...and that Jokster looked at Jug and Jug looked back and it was like the torch was passed to Jug.. and in that moment Jugs mouth opened and said one of the most legendary bars in the history of joke telling.

Jug: If you don’t get yo old…..

.. now “if you don’t get yo old” is the perfect setup however it is tricky to pull off but if you pull it off you are elevated to a different tier of joke telling…and Jug did it...

Jug was invicible from that day forward.. everyone loved Jug and Jug loved everyone.. For years the very kids that talked reckless to Jug was in the laugh of a joke (blink of an eye -- get it?? Laugh of a joke?? No?) Jugs biggest support system.  

Jug transformed that day into a legend, and in that moment Jug knew it was his life’s gift to spread love joy and happiness all over the world and that led to him winning a unanimous decision presidential election.. Yeah..He was not even on the ticket, everyone in the country wrote his name on the ballot..the most unqualified candidate in the history of life ...thats a whole nother story....

Jug has just been asked the most important question in his life, no one has ever asked Jug how he is doing? Jug has made a living by connecting with people and for the very first time in his life Jug must complete one of the most important steps in overcoming and that is answering one very important question.

Teapot – Jug, you okay you kinda went to another place for like 14 minutes, I have literally been calling your name… it was like you were not even here at all – I mean one of the first things that you said to me was that you are in the moment with me… I know that look Jug, I’ve never seen it on you… but Jug!! I know that look.. what is it..???

Jug – tears begin to form

Teapot – NO!! NO!! NO!! No Jug, you do not get to cry your way out of this one… Now open your mouth .. use your words and you get in this moment with me… and you tell me what is going on…

Jug – wipes them tears away that almost dropped, drops his head and unleashes this:

You followed Robert down some hallways, your mind was everywhere, you couldn’t believe that he actually wanted to talk to you. Everything felt so real, this shit was actually happening. Robert opened the door to a room, he gestured for you to go in. You walked into the room, it had a couch and what looked like a small make-up station. It must be one of the greenrooms.

“What’s your name, kid?” Robert asked as he closed the door, you quickly turned around to face him.

“Um, it’s (Y/N),” you answered, you looked around the room, “where are we?”

Robert couldn’t believe it. If you were actually his daughter, your kidnappers must have kept your name, he didn’t understand why they would do that. It was a dumb move on their part but he was grateful for that dumb move. “This is my green room,” he said softly. “What makes you think that you are my daughter?” Robert didn’t want this to be another hoax, I mean he’s dealt with parents before saying they had his missing daughter. It all just brought his hopes up, he hoped this just wasn’t another scheme to meet the actor. 

You quickly took off your drawstring bag, “because,” you began to say as you dug through your bag, you took out the adoption papers, handing them to Robert, “I found those last week.” Robert looked over the papers, he couldn’t believe what he was reading. Right there in black ink was his name along with his ex-wife’s name. His daughter, you, were put into the black market adoption. “I’ve done my research. And if it helps any, my parents don’t have any pictures from when I was under three years old. They both have different stories as to why, but” You dug through your bag again, taking out a small photo, “I have this one photo from when I was four from when we first moved to Mexico.” You handed it to Robert, his breath hitched in his throat at the sight of the photo. You were next to a couple, they were smiling in the photo. “I look nothing like them, they’re both tanned and I’m light complected.”

He pulled out his wallet, taking out a small wallet-sized photo, he had always kept this photo of you in his wallet, it was taken on your 3rd birthdays. Days before you were taken. Days before his world came crashing down. He took the photo, placed it side by side with the photo you handed him.

The girls in both photos looked exactly alike, there was no doubt that you were indeed his missing daughter. He continued to stare at the photo, his daughter with two strangers. Two strangers that took her from him. From her family. He looked up at you, standing in front of him after all these years, “it is you,” He said in almost a whisper. He looked at you in amazement.

You realized what he was saying, you were his missing daughter. You had been taken, you didn’t know what to feel, most of the life you had lived was a lie. The people who raised you took you from your family, you felt a wave of anger towards them. Robert quickly wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug, you felt at peace in his arms.

“I knew you weren’t dead,” Robert said as he let out a sob, “they said that it’s best to think you were dead instead of out there suffering, but I knew you weren’t dead!” He let go of the embrace, holding your face in his hands, “look at you!” He said with a smile, “you’re so beautiful!” You felt tears brim your eyes.

You wrapped your arms around Robert, his embrace felt familiar, safe, it all felt so right “I remember this,” you whispered. “I remember you singing to me,” You said as you let go of the hug, “That song, it’s um-”

“Smile,” Robert said, “I used to always sing you ‘Smile,’ you would beg me to sing it to you, it was the only song that got you to sleep when you were a baby.” Robert couldn’t stop staring at you, “oh my gosh, (Y/N), losing you was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Your mother, she-”

“I know,” you whispered, “I read about it when doing my research.”

“I blamed myself for that night,” he said softly, “I almost ruined my career, my family, because of it,” he felt a fit of anger towards the kidnappers, “we need to call the cops.”

“Wait!” You exclaimed, “can we just.. Can we just savor this moment? I want to hear about when I was little, tell me about my mom. What’s she like?” You sat down on the couch, Robert then sat next to you.

He gently brushed your hair behind your ear, “you look like her,” he began to say, “she’s an amazing singer, you would always ask her to sing smile too, but she had her own song she would sing to you. You were our princess, (Y/N), losing you broke the family apart. It broke Indio. He thought so highly of you, he was such a proud big brother. Yeah, you guys fought but he was always there to protect you. They’re gonna be so overjoyed to hear the news.” Robert couldn’t help but smile as he looked at you, his little girl, alive and in front of him.

He placed his hand on your cheek, “I’m so sorry,” he whispered, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t protect you.” You gently grabbed his hand that was on your cheek, “did they… did they treat you okay?”

You gave him a nod, “don’t worry, they made everything seem like we were a normal family,” you reassured.

Robert gave her a nod, “how are you doing in school? Grades?”

“I’m actually in top of my class.”

“I knew you were going to be a smart kid,” Robert said as he placed a kiss on top of your head.

You sighed, looking down at the floor, “what now?”

“We call the cops, maybe I should call the lead detective on your case, I’ve been in contact with him over the years,” he took his phone out, “they will go to your house and arrest the um- people who took you.”

The kidnappers, the people who you thought were your parents almost all your life. You placed your hand on Roberts phone, stopping him from making the call, “Only one of them is home, if you make that call, you most likely won’t catch the other. It’s best if we just wait until tomorrow.” You could tell by the look on Roberts face that he didn’t like this idea, he just wanted to take you home and make sure you were safe. “Trust me, they will both be home all day tomorrow and you give the detective these papers,” you said as you gestured to the adoption papers, “this is the address to where the house is,” you grabbed a pen from your backpack and began scribbling on an old receipt from your wallet, “you tell them to go there.”

Robert was amazed at how much you’ve grown, you weren’t the three year old he used to know. He felt heartbroken by that fact, that he had lost so many years and all he wanted to do right now was to regain those years by talking with you for hours on end.

Your phone began to ring, you panicked as you realized how late it has gotten, “Oh shit!” You expressed as you looked at the Caller I.D. “it’s him, my um-” you looked at Robert, hesitating to call the man on the other end of the phone your father, the man you thought was your father, “it’s Mark.” You finished saying. “I have to answer,” Robert gave you an understanding nod.

“Hello?” You asked as you answered the phone.

“Sabes que hora es!?” Do you know what time it is?

“Lo siento pero perdi mis llaves, y yo Los Estaba Buscando.” I’m sorry but I lost my keys and I was looking for them. You looked over Robert who gave you a confused expression, “I’m waiting for the bus right now,” you lied.

You could hear Mark sigh on the other end, “I told you, eleven the latest. It’s already eleven fifteen, (Y/N)... just hurry up home, your mother is going to have a field day when she gets home tomorrow morning.” With that, he hung up the phone.

“Well?” Robert asked, eager to know what the conversation was about.

“Well, he’s not too happy,” you said softly as you placed your phone in your pocket, “I should probably get going.”

“Let my driver take you home,” Robert insisted as you got up from the couch, “so that way you won’t have to take the bus.” You didn’t hesitate at the offer, knowing very well that you would have to wait extra time for a bus and this way you would get home a bit quicker. “Come on,” Robert gestured for you to follow him. You followed him out to a different room, “Hey, mind giving someone a ride for me?” Robert asked a man.

The man quickly stood up and looked at you and smile, “Sure! What’s the address?”

You told him the address and he placed it into his phone GPS, “I’ll bring the car out to the front entrance,” The man said to Robert as he walked out of the room.

You then followed Robert through the hallways once again and into the front entrance, by now the only people at the center were just crew members. “What brought you to the convention anyway? Other than, you know, the obvious.”

“Oh, my best friend, (Y/B/F/N), and I had plans for years now to come to the Supernatural panel,” you admitted as you guys waited for the car, “we even got to meet Misha Collins, which was pretty freaking awesome.”

“You came with your best friend? Where is she?” 

“Oh I kind of ditched her at a cafe, I was a bit upset from our first encounter.” 

Robert sighed, “sorry about that, I-” 

“It’s okay,” You gave him a reassuring smile.

“So, you’re a big Supernatural fan?” You gave him a nod, “What about Marvel?”

“Never really got into it,” You whispered, “but I think I’m going to be getting into it very soon,” you said with a smirk. Robert chuckled at your comment. He sighed as he saw his driver bring the car over to you guys.

Robert wrapped his arms around you, he placed his hands on your cheeks once more as he let go of the embrace, “I still can’t believe it.”

You gave him a gentle smile, “tomorrow, trust me.”

“Will you be okay?” 

You gave him a nod, you just had to pretend for one more day, pretend that your fake life was normal that you didn’t know the secrets they’ve been hiding from you. “I’ll be fine, even better once this is all over.” Robert hesitated to let you go, he wanted to just keep you with him, call the cops, it didn’t matter if they only caught one. Well, it did, but Robert felt selfish, he wanted to just embrace you. Take in what he has missed, what was taken from him all these years. He watched as you got into the black Suburban, you gave him a small wave goodbye as the car slowly drove off.

Robert took his phone out, he knew it was late and that she was probably asleep but this was important, he listened to the phone ring a couple of times, “Hello?” her voice was groggy.

“Deb?”

“Robert? Do you know what time it is?” A slight irritation in her voice, she was confused as to why her ex-husband would be calling so late. Part of her wondered if it had anything to do with Indio but Indio was asleep in the other room. 

“I found her, Deb,” Robert choked out, “She’s alive. Our baby girl is alive, Deb.”

Cayden

"Yo, where you been at man?" Pat asked, tossing the ball to me. I dribbled for a bit before picking it up.

"Nowhere, took a few days off," i said. I ran up to the net and did a lay up.

"To be with Randi's ass im guessing," Cole said from the side line. He was in town this weekend for a game which we were all gonna watch that sunday.

"Yo let me tell you, things go a lot smoother when you keep wifey happy. How that saying go?" i paused. "Happy wife, happy life, or whatever corny shit."

"How's the little nugget doing anyways?" Ty asked, swiping the ball from my hands.

"She aight. They thinking of opening a second location right now so she all into that," i shrugged. For obvious reasons i wasn't a fan of the idea of taking on something so big right now, but telling Randi not to do something was like asking water to not be wet, wasn't no point. Best believe i was still gonna try though.

"She coming sunday right? She ain't ever replied my text," Cole turned to me.

"I think so," i said.

"We gon gossip all day or actually play ball?" Rambo who had just walked through the door said. He started playing ball with us a few weeks ago, it was a matter of time now that he was around so much. God knows how, but his half open half closed relationship with China was going strong. They were both wild characters though so i guess it worked.

"My nigga you  15 minutes late talking about we gon play ball," i laughed.

"Yeah but i showed up ready, yall coulda started but yall having a tea party," he said. I grabbed the ball back from Ty.

"We were talking about your mama actually," Ty chimed in. "What were you saying about Miss E's tittied Pat? " he smirked.

"Ty shut your gay ass up," Rambo mugged him.

"Chill bruh," Ty pushed his shoulder.

"aight, aight, lets ball,"i said seeing Rambo's face looking a little to serious. "Cole on my team," i called.

"Yall can't both be on the same team," Ty said.

"What he said. Aint no point in playing that game, we gon loose," Rambo agreed. Cole and i laughed.

"Fine ill be the other captain," Cole offered. So we split off into trams and finally started our game.

I went to the warehouse after playing basketball. Id finally hired an assistant and she was coming in today for her first day. Id been talking to her for a couple of weeks filling her in on everything Kassie used to do around here. I knew nobody could replace her but anyone was good at this point, i couldn't keep planning all the trips and shit like i been doing now, i had other shit to do. Kassie was doing me a solid though and she agreed to come for a few days and train her. Thank God because honestly i dont know how she did half the shit she did. I was looking in my emails when a knock came at the door.

"Yeah," i said. The door opened.

"New girls here," Ty said.

"Let her in," i said. He opened the door wider and Keisha walked in, looking unsure. Ty gave me a curious look before leaving and closing the door.

"Yo, thanks for coming," i said, getting up from my chair.

"Thanks for calling me. This...is the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me," she said. I shrugged. I sat back down and she sat in the chair on the other side of the desk.

"You know, you could have just hit me up if you needed a job."

"Oh come on," she scoffed. "That would have been awkward as fuck and you know it. Especially considering your married now. Which still confuses me," she tilted her head.

"I know," i chuckled.

"How she get you of all people to settle down?"

"I swear she has a super power, she got me doing all kinds of shit i never thought id do. Out here planning anniversary trips and shit," i mumbled. Thats actually what i had been doing on my email before.

"I know all about people changing you," she smiled, "Jacob did the same for me."

"Jacob. That yo man?"

"Sort of," she laughed. I raised a brow. "My kid," she said.

"Ohhh," i said, realizing that was the reason she had started stripping to begin with. She definitely wasn't making enough in retail to support a kid.

"Yup thats how i ended up at the club," she shrugged. "It wasn't bad though. Was making pretty good money too."

"You gonna make over double here, easily. You still gotta deal with a bunch of niggas though unfortunately."

"They don't scare me."

"Good," i said. "So my last assistant gon be here starting tomorrow to help you out. After that you'll be good. Kassie knows her shit."

"Okay, sounds good. Thank you Cayden," she said again.

"Yo, you helping me out too so we good. I was thinking we could just take you around today. See the place and how we do business and what not," i suggested. She nodded. "Cool, lets go." I grabbed my phone and keys then got up from my chair. She grabbed her bag and we left my office.

Randi

China and Jada were getting on my last nerve. I was fairly sure it was in part due to my hormones but also they had me driving around to look at places all day and i was tired and getting car sick as well.

"Okay, one more place" Jada said, looking down at the GPS. I was sitting in the passenger seat.

"I think Randi is fed up with us," China said

"Im not fed up. I just dont get why we're putting so much time in to finding the place right now when we don't even have a full plan in place. Also you got us looking all the way out here, over an hour from the first location, i thought we agreed we wanted to be close to the first one," i said.

"We not sue yet. We just looking Randi, not like we gon sign off on anything today. I thought you were excited about this?" Jada asked.

"I am..." i said.

"So why such a negative nancy?" China asked.

"Im tired," i said simply. "Didn't get a lot of sleep last night."

"Too busy having sex?" She asked. I rolled my eyes. "Come on, lighten up Randi. You're probably just hungry, you know how you get," she said.

"Should i pull into a drive through?" Jada turned to look at me. I paused. Honestly a milkshake did sound really good. Some onion rings too.

"Ok maybe i could eat," i mumbled. They laughed and Jada changed lanes to exit towards the restaurants.

We sat down in McDonalds with our food and i suddenly wasn't hungry anymore so i just drank my milkshake.

"You know what i realized the other day?" Jada said.

"What?" China and I said at the same time.

"We haven't done a girls trip in over 2 years."

"Oh you're right," i said.

"Well Randi probably not down anymore, she's married," China said. She said married with such shade i had to laugh.

"Im down. When we going?" i asked.

"Few months maybe?" Jada said. Yikes, i thought to myself. In a few months i was gonna be at home...with a newborn.  But they didn't know so i just said maybe like i was considering it. Id only told cayden two weeks ago, i wasnt ready to start telling other people yet.

"By the way, are we going to the game together sunday?" China asked.

"Cay will drive us," i said.

"Im excited,  never been to  pro game and knew someone playing."

"Im excited to see Cole. I feel like a mom, i may actually cry watching," i giggled.

We eventually left and went to go see the last property for the day. Again, it was nothing amazing and i was starting to think it was a sign. Of course i didn't say anything about it because i didnt wanna seem against it. Jada dropped me off at the Salon where my car was parked and i drove myself home.

Cayden was home already, watching a basketball game in the living room. I dropped my bag and walked further into the house. Cayden turned around.

"Ran," he said, getting up to come hug me. I lifted my arms to wrap them around his neck. He pulled back a bit to kiss me.

"Hey babe," i said with a smile. His hands were firm around my waist and it felt nice, secure.

"How you feeling today?"

"Okay," i shrugged, "Haven't thrown up so that's good. Im tired though."

"How about i set up a bath so you can relax or something," he offered.

"If you get in with me, sure."

"Aight, lets go," he took my hand in his. We were about to go upstairs but the doorbell rang and i sighed. I let go of his hand against my will and went to go answer the door. My parents stood on the front porch.

"Mom? Dad?" I said, surprised.

"Hi honey. Hope this isn't a bad time. We thought we'd drop by, we missed you two" she smiled.

"I told her we should call first," dad said.

"No its fine, im just surprised. Come in," i opened the door wider. They walked inside and Cayden came to greet them. I gave him an apologetic look and he shrugged like it was nothing.

"I'll go start on dinner," i said.

"I'll help," mom offered.

My mom took over most of the cooking and i just cut veggies and stirred pots.

"You've been real quiet lately, you don't call, or come over" my mom said, "is everything ok?"

"Yeah, im fine mom," i assured her. She looked me over real good and i wondered if it was that obvious that i was pregnant. But if she knew she didn't say anything.

"You and Cayden fighting again?" she asked.

"No, we're good. Great actually. We've just been busy," i said, looking over at Cayden talking to my dad in the living room.

"Well, keep in touch, we miss you."

"I miss you guys too."

My parents finally left hours later and i was exhausted. I went upstairs and started to get ready for bed. I took a quick shower and changed into some sweats. Cayden was already in the bed on his phone. I got in on my side and got comfortable. I suddenly got a tasting for ice cream out of nowhere.

"I really want some ice cream," i said.

"We can get some tomorrow," Cayden said.

"But i really want some now," i complained. He looked up from his phone and i stuck my bottom lip out like a kid. He rolled his eyes.

"Im gonna have to go out now aren't i?" he guessed. I nodded. "What kind you want?"

"Mint chocolate chip. Can you get some pickles too?"

"Aight," he grabbed his keys.

"I love you," i smiled sweetly.

"Ya, ya," he said, annoyed. I laughed.

Ty

**Two days later**

We were at Cole's game, watching him murder the other team. We had been cheering him on and booing the other team when they scored. It was now the third quarter and the temperature was steadily dropping. The game had started at 7 and It was 9pm so the sun had already gone down and everything. I was wearing a jacket so i was ok. Jada,China, and Randi all huddled together to stay warm in the seats behind and the guys. They were all wearing T shirts when they got here, obviously they hadn't been to a game before. We ended up giving them our jackets and stuff. I felt pretty bad, but mostly for Randi. I didn't know much about pregnancy, but it couldn't be good to be out in this kind of weather without a jacket. Cayden turned around to face them.

“Its too cold out here, I’m gonna take you back to the hotel,” he said to Randi.

“It’s almost done Cay, I’m fine,” she said, teeth chattering. He gave a ‘Yeah right’ look.

"Theres only a few minutes, she'll be alright," China said. I mean she aint know, so you couldn't really blame her. I kept my mouth shut but i made eye contact with Randi before looking away. Cayden gave her a warning look because he clearly wasn't happy and i didnt blame him. He was just worried bout her.

"Ok, lets go," she said. The girls looked at her strangely, probably wondering why Cayden would be bossing her around about going inside. "I'm really cold. I'll just see you guys in the morning. Tell Cole im proud of him."

"Okay," Jada said.

The two of them left and i watched them go up the stairs to leave the stadium. I missed s touch down and looked back to the field when everyone started cheering.

"Yo they're finished, they might as well go home! we got this," Pat said to me.

"Yeah man," i said.

After the game we all stuck around so we could see Cole. I was going out to dinner with him after and everyone wanted to congratulate him. We waited by the change rooms and after a while Cole and his teammates started coming out. The other players' families were waiting too. I waved when i saw him and he smiled big seeing everyone here for him. He came over and dapped everybody. We all told him how well he'd played and he thanked everyone for coming out. I saw him looking around though.

"Wheres Randi?" He said, sounding disappointed.

"She left at third quarter," i said. His face looked hurt or betrayed, and i felt bad.

"There was a few minutes left, she couldnt even stay? Wow," he mumbled.

"It aint like that man-" i tried to explain and defend her but he was finished with the topic.

"Whatever. I just wanna have dinner like we planned. Gotta go talk to coach real quick, meet you in 10?"

I nodded. He leaned in and kissed me in front of all the people that were gathered, including his team mates. I grinned.

"So what did you wanna talk about?" I asked him, taking a bite out of my burger. He had said he wanted to discuss something after the game.

"Nothing really. I was just thinking i miss you during the week," he said.

"Its hard not being able to drop by whenever," i agreed.

"Aight, So i was thinking, come stay with me then," he shrugged. I paused, surprised and a little confused.

"You wanna live together?" i asked. He nodded. I was down for that, but i knew he meant in Dallas. Which meant i would be doing the moving. "What am i gonna do in dallas?"

"Be with me, what you mean?"

"I work here Cole. I can't up and leave everything, what the hell would i tell Cayden?" I leaned back in my chair and folded my arms.

"Not like you have a real job, you can do what you do anywhere," he said. My brows came together.

"Not a real job," i chuckled humorlesly. "I make real money so,"

"Thats not what i meant," he said, reaching across the table to touch my arm.I didn't say anything. "I just want us to be together Ty."

"I do too, but im not leaving," i shrugged. There was a long stretch of silence were neither of us said a thing.

"I gotta go back in the morning. Can we just enjoy my last night," he mumbled. I paused. He had a point.

"Let's go back to my place. I can drive you back in the morning," i finally said.

I paid the bill and we left the restaurant to go back to my place. Neither of us wanted to be fighting when it was our last day together. but i knew the issue wasn't resolved and we would have to come back to the conversation. But it wasn't going to be tonight.

Randi

When we were driving home from the game Cayden and i were having a pretty heated conversation about when to spill the beans. We still hadn’t told people that I was pregnant, it was just between us. I liked it that way. Nobody had guessed, probably because I hadn’t quite started to show yet. My bump was still easy to hide.

Once we got home and got in the bed to sleep we had finally calmed down and stopped arguing. Cayden reached his arm over me and placed his hand on the lowest part of my small bump. He put his face against my neck so that my chin was resting on his head. His hand traveled gently over my skin in various patterns. My eyes closed because it was relaxing.

"We need to tell people" he said gently. I knew he was right, i was just hesitant to let everyone else in on it because then they would wanna put in their 2 cents and be telling me what to do and everyone would start treating me different.

"I know," i said simply, opening my eyes again. "Im gonna miss it being just us," i said.

"It's still gonna be me and you mama," he said.

"I know, but you know how my friends are, and my mom, God. She's gonna wanna be involved in every way possible," i sighed.

"My mom will probably be on your case too," he said apologetically.

"Ugh" i rolled my eyes, annoyed.

"But think how excited they're gonna be," he said. I nodded.

"My moms gonna freak," i smiled a little, thinking about it. She had been so disappointed when i told her i didn't want kids. "Fine, give me one more week then we can tell them."

"Deal," he agreed.

"By the way, Ty knows," i said, giving him an apologetic smile.

"What?" he said, sitting up. I laughed.

"Im sorry, he came over to get the keys to your office and i almost fell and i kinda made it obvious and he guessed," i said quickly.

"He knew before me!?" He looked so upset, like someone had stolen his favorite toy.

"sorry," i said again. He pouted. "I love you," i touched his face. He still looked mad. "But technically i didn't tell him, he guessed. You're still the first person i actually told," i said to comfort him.

"I guess..." he said. I pulled him back down so that he was laying down again.

"you still mad?" i asked.

"No," he shook his head.

"Then you better say you love me back."

"I love you baby mama," he said. I gave him a dirty look and he cackled.

As the lights went green I begin to move off slowly as I did another car came from the left of me and tried to turn right as he speed up he crashed into the drivers side of the car. After the driver spoke to the police on the phone, he then gave me his Name, Phone number and Insurance information. After nearly 4Months I have now revived a letter stating that the claim has been closed on a Without Prejudice Basis. When I contacted Aviva to see what the 3rd party has not accepted full liability they said it was dealt with like this as the 3rd party who crashed into me was not responding to and calls or letters that have send him.
