my dog is 15 years old. i've had him about 12 years. he's the only dog i've ever had. i found out on tuesday morning that he has osteosarcoma. today is our last day together and i'd really like to share a memory from the day i got him.
my family was out, and i didn't know where we were going. then i started seeing paw prints on the road, and asked about them. my parents were smiley, and after some thought, i realized we were going to the animal shelter.
since our new dog would be an inside dog, my mom wanted a small puppy. all the puppies they had were going to grow to be big. they didn't have any small enough adult dogs, and we were going to leave but the worker said they wanted to show us a dog. we got taken to a separate room, and there was a single row of cages that only had a few dogs. we barely started walking by the cages when we saw a chihuahua jumping about four feet in the air over and over and over. as soon as we saw him, my dad and i both pointed and said that's our dog.
they let us know that he was heartworm positive, but that they would pay for all treatment, so we decided to risk it and take him home. for a short while, he couldn't move around much so the treatment could work, and we hated keeping him still when he loved running and jumping.
but finally, after all his treatment, they said he was negative. since then, i have had my dog with me for everything. he loved to play with squeaky toys, and constantly ripped the squeakers out of them. he loved to jump and would take any opportunity to do it. he loved to wrestle and ended every play fight with tons of kisses. but his absolutely favorite thing to do, and exactly what he's doing right now, is crawl under a blanket and just lay with you. he's slept in my bed, curled up under the blanket with me every single night.
i don't know how i'll sleep without him, but knowing that he's been happy and won't hurt anymore is the most important thing to me. i love him so much and can't thank him enough for being with me all these years.
thank you for reading
#i'm heartbroken right now but he's been the best dog#tw animal loss#tw animal death#um. yeah. thank you if you read this post.

I hope you don’t mind me making a short ficlet about your furry little dudes but 👀 I gotta their too cute.
When Charles and Abigail moved into the neighborhood they had noticed lots of little paw prints decorating the dust on the hood of their car during sunny days, making little wet patterns on the covered concrete porch, and dancing through the snow as the seasons changed. They tried their best to feed the kitties outside. And when they were lucky enough they even got glimpses of them. Abigail was especially worried for a little tiger-stripped munchkin with a bobbed tail. She would pace by the sliding door watching as the other cats teased and picked on him taking full advantage of his size over him. “Charlie…” she hummed, hugging him from behind as he worked. “I’ve been thinking… maybe Ottertooth out there was an indoor kitty so it might just be the best thing if we brought him inside?” She asked with the confidence of certainty how ever her voice betrayed her at the last moment giving way to her hopefulness. Charles paused in his work, simply laying his pen down carefully before taking her arms from around his shoulders long enough to spin his office chair around and pull her close once more this time allowing her to sit in his lap. “Darling,” he whispered kissing her forehead, “did you honestly name it… Ottertooth?” He asked chuckling and squeezing her tight despite the eye-roll and whines of his wife. “Yes! He has a little snaggle tooth so his tongue sticks out sometimes and he really likes water. So Ottertooth!” Abigail explained herself smiling as Charles couldn’t help but laugh.
“Ok… how about the others? Did you name them too?” Abigail nodded at her husband’s question proudly. Pointing out the window in their shared office she picked out each Kitty confidently. “The big black and grey kitty with long fur. That’s Brutal Claw. He is kinda like their protector. He doesn’t do a lot of bullying to anyone, he just watches over all the other cats from the tree in the backyard. One time though our neighbor's Borzoi, Mags had gotten loose from his fence and gotten into the yard. Brutal Claw came out of nowhere to protect the other cats and chased him the whole way home. He does however favor Ottertooth… because he keeps the others from bullying him too much. He is also the loudest out of all the cats. His meow is so loud it always gets my attention, but he's so sweet. He comes out almost every time I'm out and I give him scritches.” Charles nodded twirling a piece of his wife’s long hair. He had a feeling he knew where all this was going. But he let Abigail finish before giving any thought.
“Then there’s the chunky Main Coon that only comes around once every so often at night so he's still quite the mystery for me too. I named him Murder Pelt. The few times I managed to see him, his fur was a little matted and he really needs some loving babe but he always brings me little dead mice and birds as presents when I give him kitty food. He’s a secret softy. I really hope I get to pet him one day.” Abigail snuggled up to Charles, lighting up as a brilliant gold cat hopped onto the windowsill as if reading her mind.
“Oh! That’s Elffrost!” She exclaimed giggling watching the heated glare she got from the spindly cat. "Now Elffrost is very full of himself. He knows he's a very beautiful boy who takes great care of his coat. However, he's a picky bitch who only likes certain food and treats. He's pissed at me because I'm late to give him his salmon treats." As if hearing her through the glass, Elffrost meowed indignantly turning his tail up at Abigail before stepping off the ledge of the windowsill with grace. "Now I think maybe Elffrost may be albino because his eyes are just so blue but I don't know but I do know if it's ok with you we need to get him fixed because I've seen at least three momma cats prowling around with kittens that look just like him so we don't need any more of that." Abigail sighed frowning.
"Then there's Pickles a scrawny little ginger short hair tabby. He is so sweet. He has these little... leg warmers on his front feet that are black and it's the only part of him that's not ginger. It's so cute. Every time I go out he shows up and rubs against my legs and purrs so loudly. He is a little wary of new things, however. When we had those movers here to help us with the new fridge, he was the one under the deck in front hissing and yowling at them. He's feisty but he's more bark than bite." Abigail sighed sitting up straighter in her husband's lap. "What do you think?" She asked hesitantly, gauging his reaction carefully.
Charles was cautious to mind his facial expressions as he thought, a skill he acquired after many years of being a lawyer. "Well..." He started slowly, taking hold of his wife's waist so that she would not fall backward off of the seat. "We've already been paying for food and treats for all five of the boys. Litter boxes and cat toys won't be too much of an expenditure. A couple of cat trees to accommodate them might be more but I think we can swing it as well as the price of cat litter... Now I think with vet bills... we should tackle it in chunks. Take them all at once to be seen by the vet, get shots, get flea treatments, and dewormed. Then we can schedule their neutering based on the prices the vets give us. We'll have to be diligent to clean the house every day with five cats-" Abigail cut Charles off jolting to meet his gaze. "Wait! Charlie! You really want to bring them all in?" She squeaked unable to stop the smile that crept across her lips. Charles stayed quiet for a moment studying Abigail for a moment. "Did you not want to, my love?" He asked disappointedly. "I was just thinking... it would not only be safer for the five of them, but they seem to have a little pack dynamic and if you remove their littlest they may panic and it could disrupt the whole pack. So I figured... if they let you move them in here, why not move them all in?" Abigail stared blankly at Charles before hugging him tightly. "I love you so much." She whispered, kissing him sweetly. "Mmm. I love you too." Charles whispered holding Abigail tightly. Looking out the window at the playful cats he smiled knowing that his life would forever be changed forever but he was more than ready to take on the challenges. As a potted plant smashed to the concrete outside and he watched five ornery cats skitter across the yard he sighed, well maybe...
dethklan cats. yes i made murderface but it didnt turn out good in my opinion pls... but his cat name is murderpelt.

Chosen Family
Pairing: CG!Ransom x Little!Reader
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: Mean family members and a canon referencing curse word!
A/N: Ahh the Ransom feels continue.... I saw Glass Onion recently and I absolutely loved it, but it sure made me miss Chris 😅 so of course I've been revisiting Knives Out now 💕 This is kind of based on a true story with my own family, only I wish I had protective Ransom to come rescue me 🥺😣 so even if that didn't happen in real life, I can just write it instead 💕💕 enjoy!!
The tires of Ransom’s car threw gravel across the driveway as he peeled in, coming to a stop directly in front of the house. He didn’t want to be here a second longer than absolutely necessary, and this was the easiest way for a quick getaway. You’d fallen asleep in the backseat on the drive over, the rain on the windows and the winding forest roads lulling you to dreamland. Ransom grabbed your backpack out of the passenger seat and got out of the car. He circled around to your door and opened it, noticing you wince as you felt a blast of cold outdoor air enter the heated car. He undid your seatbelt and lifted you out of the car and into his arms, while you buried your head in his sweater clad shoulder, desperately clinging onto your nap.
“I know, I know, doll. We just have to make an appearance and then we can go home and cuddle by the fire, you like that?” Ransom said softly in your ear, petting your head against his chest. “You wanna walk by yourself, baby?”
“Mmm…” You mumbled, which Ransom knew meant no. You’d been more little this week, more often. The dreary weather and stress of the holiday season, the fact that the sun was gone by 4pm, all this had you falling deeper and deeper into headspace as winter settled over Massachusetts. Not that Ransom minded at all, but you’d never been so little at one of his family’s big gatherings, and he was anxious to see how this day would play out.
“Aww, come on, baby, I know you can do it.” He said, attempting to lower you to the ground, but your legs latched around his torso. Just then, Harlan’s dogs came bolting from across the yard. Ransom backed up against the car, trying to shoo the dogs away, not wanting to get dirty paw prints and slobber on his clothes. They growled at him, sensing his rigid energy, before you unclenched your fist from Ransom’s sweater and reached a little hand down to give the nearest pup a pat on the head.“Hello good doggy.” You said quietly with a smile, wriggling out of Ransom’s grasp to better play with the dogs.
“So you won’t walk for daddy, but you will for a doggy, huh?” Ransom laughed, patting your head as your affection subdued the dogs. They happily trotted alongside you as you approached the big house, and Ransom grabbed your hand, giving it a squeeze before you walked in. “Well, nice of you to finally join us.” A scathing voice floated through the foyer.
You shifted behind Ransom, slightly shielding yourself from the judgment of his family. You knew they didn’t like him, and by extension, that meant they didn’t like you. Usually you were big enough to hold your own against them, or to stay home alone when you weren’t feeling up to it, but you’d been inseparable from Ransom lately, and when you were still regressed the day of the Thrombey’s annual holiday dinner, he brainstormed all the ways to get you through the event with as little incident as possible. That’s when Ransom shrugged your backpack off his shoulder and handed it to you.“Here you go, angel,” he whispered, “go run upstairs and play with your toys until it's time to go, alright?”
You nodded, taking the bag and running up the staircase to an empty room where you knew you wouldn’t be disturbed, leaving Ransom to face the brunt of his family on his own. As much as he hated having to spend an afternoon with them, he’d do it a million afternoons if it meant you could be spared.
You dumped the contents of your backpack onto the rug, scanning your eyes over them before reaching for your iPad. You didn’t get much screentime when you were little, Ransom preferring to have you spend quality time with him, so you were delighted to see he’d packed your tablet for you, allowing for a rare opportunity to rot your brain on mobile apps all afternoon. Your favorite game was still on the loading screen when you heard a voice carry out in the hallway.
“So bizarre… like his little pet.” You heard someone say.
“Honestly, if I were Ransom I’d be so annoyed.” Another one chimed in.
And you felt it. The words hit your core like a bomb, wiping out any bit of confidence and joy you had in your headspace. You knew they probably talked about you and your relationship with Ransom, your big self knew that kind of gossip was inevitable, but you’d never heard it for yourself, especially in such a sensitive state. The words cut through you like icicles, freezing your blood and your body in place.
Annoying.
Bizarre.
Little pet.
Was this true? Were you annoying to Ransom, following him around everywhere, relentlessly clinging to his side? Was that why he’d sent you up here all by yourself, to get rid of you for at least an afternoon of relief? The faces of the colorful characters on your favorite app blurred through your tears as these thoughts swirled around your head. You wished you’d never heard them at all.
Someone else had heard them too.
Ransom had been stomping his way up the steps, already wanting to leave the gathering after just a few agonizing minutes with his mother, when he heard his cousin’s voice from a nearby room, and then his name. He heard the nasty things they said about you and prayed to anyone listening that you weren’t within earshot. As soon as he found you, still sitting frozen on the carpet with tears streaming down your face, he knew that prayer hadn’t been heard.
“Oh, sweetheart,” Ransom muttered, coming towards you with open arms, but you pushed him away. “No, it's okay, I just want to go home.” You whispered, shoving all your belongings back into your backpack.
“Absolutely, honey, I was just about to say the same thing.” Ransom replied, taking the backpack from you and slinging it over his shoulder. “I could’ve carried that.” You spat, hurrying past him out the door and down the hallway towards the stairs. Ransom sped up to match your stride, wanting more than anything else in the world to get both you and him out of that house as soon as possible. You pushed open the front door, Ransom yelling an emotionless “goodbye” to the rest of the family before slamming it behind him. He reached towards the back seat door to open it for you, but you were already getting settled in the front, pulling your seatbelt across your chest. Ransom got in the driver’s seat, zooming out of the driveway just as hastily as he’d arrived. The two of you remained silent throughout the journey home. You stared out the window with a head full of overwhelming thoughts until finally they got too much and spilled out.
“Am I annoying?” You whispered as the Beemer pulled into yours and Ransom’s driveway.
“Not in a million years, angel.” Ransom answered, confidently and quickly, with all his heart.
“But I heard Joni say… I’m like a pet. And Meg said you’re annoyed by it. Your family hates me.”
“Baby ignore them. They’re idiots and they can all eat shit.” He said with a grin that he hoped you’d return, but once again he was out of luck.
“But… but they’re your family!” You sniffled, finally turning to look at him. . “Not anymore, not after tonight. I don’t associate with people who can’t respect my little angel. You’re the only family I need, babydoll.”
The tiniest hint of a smile ghosted your face when you heard your favorite pet name. Ransom hooked a finger under your chin, lifting your face slightly so he could see it better, and gave you a soft, sweet kiss on your lips. “You are too, daddy.”
“There’s my baby. Now to make up for today, I think someone deserves lots and lots of cuddles!”

hey saturn! do you have any advice for people who can't really regress in their own home? i live with my parents and idk what they'd do if they found out(it's a stress response and i think that's contributing)
love you! hope you're having a good day <3
-@littlethena
Tips for regressing while living with others
Hey @littlethena! Thank you for sending this ask, I've actually been thinking of making a post on this for a while now!
Sometimes having other people who live in your home can be really stressful for Littles who need to be discreet for any reason. Maybe you live with your parents, roommates, or in an open housing arrangement, and have a hard time regressing because you don't want to be found out. I promise it's okay! We've almost all been there at one point or another, and I want to let you know that luckily, there are tons of adorable but discreet ways to be little around others! This is a list that I've come up with, some things might be more achievable than others for some Littles and that's okay!! I promise there is no right or wrong way to regress and there's definitely no checklist of what you need to be a little. These are just some suggestions based on my personal experience with having to be discreet while living with others. I do hope this helps some of you!
Clothing can be a big part of regressing! Soft shirts, cute skirts, comfy pants, and adorable socks are some really simple but effective ways to help yourself regress! Depending on your big age and fashion sense, there are tons of options.
Soft graphic t-shirts are super easy to come by at big stores or online, and there's so many different designs you can pick from! You can easily find shirts related to kidcore, like care bears or even just cute prints!
Big sweaters are one of the best ways to help yourself feel tiny! Try buying one or two sweaters that are two sizes above your normal shirt size, and enjoy the sweater paw life! If someone asks, you can always tell them that the fitting rooms were closed or it was the last option for the top.
Cute or crazy socks are my personal favorite when it comes to discreet regressing. No matter what your shoe size is, there are hundreds of cute designs that you can hide under your shoes or with a long pair of pants! I suggest checking materials before buying socks, if you're in person definitely check that the stitching will stretch, or if you're online always check review! The Cat and Jack brand (not spon) makes kids items up to a size 6 us /8 women's us and I absolutely adore their cat socks!
Using "big" versions of little toys when people are around can be super useful for little ones who don't live alone! Stim toys and trinkets are easy to explain, and stuffies could always be a "gift from a friend".
Stress balls can be really fun for kiddos to keep around the house! I personally love the ones that have beads inside or the nets around them, and they're fun to play with anywhere you go!
Figurines and action figures are pretty easy to explain to people too! As far as anyone else knows, they're just cute decorations from your favorite shows or games, but you can play with them the same way you play with your dolls
If you're a kiddo that enjoys rattles, you can always make your own! Find some beads or small things that you can fill a toilet paper roll with, and get some colored paper to close up both sides with using tape, and decorate it however you want using stickers or markers! They're super easy to hide or even take apart once you're done playing with it!
"Adult" coloring books are a little's best friend. They're pretty self explanatory to anyone who finds it, and its typically seen as a therapy method for people! If anything, they might want to see all the awesome work you've done (but, you're more than allowed to say no if you're not comfortable sharing it!) You can even use crayons or markers if you want to feel more little, and there's tons of different large print books for if you don't want fine detail work.
Stuffies are such a comfort whether you're 2 or 95, and they're one of the easiest things to explain! Right now, everyone's collecting squishmallows- its just the trend! Any stuffie friend that might be questioned easily could be passed off as gifts from friends or family, or just simply that it was too cute to pass up!
Making bracelets, just like the coloring books, is super easy to explain too! It's just relaxing to do, and you can make them for the people you love without even telling them why you're making them!
Just having general cute decor can also be super fun for Littles. Depending on your living situation, things around the house can pretty easily just be made hidden Little objects!
Soft blankets of your favorite characters or colors are typically inexpensive and definately functional for around the house at this time of year! Cuddling up all comfy cozy is the best for helping bring yourself into little space, and what's better than a secretly special blankie!
Cute cups or mugs are great for daily use around the house! Star and I have a whole collection of cute mugs, some of which are specifically used when one of us is signaling that we're feeling little! If you have a CG or someone around who knows, this can be a helpful way to signal your needs! Or, if you don't have anyone who knows around, it can be seen as just another cute mug in the back of the shelf that you use once and a while!
Stuffies again can make a great decoration piece if you have a lot of them! Around our house, we use the stuffies to protect things like the record player or wires the cats might get at. The person we live with absolutely loves having them out to look at too, and they do an amazing job of keeping things safe!
Decorative lights like fairy or led lights can be fun for everyone! It helps set the mood in a relaxing tone! No matter what your big age is, fairy lights are a wonderful decoration for any space!
I really hope this list helps some kiddos that are struggling to hide their regression for any reason! You're still just as valid as any little, I promise. You deserve to enjoy the same comforts as the Littles that live alone, and I hope that some of these ideas can help make it easier while you're in whatever situation you're in! Remember that you are loved and cared about, and you deserve to regress. Please reblog with any other ideas you have! I'd love to hear them!
Pippi Saturn 💕

Today I had to say goodbye to someone that I love.
In December 2008 I picked you up and held you in my arms for the first time, the way you looked up at me with your beautiful goldish green eyes melted my heart. You followed me everywhere, like a little shadow and would cry when you couldn't see me. You were the most hyperactive, affectionate and loving little ball of energy I'd ever met and I knew we'd be together until the end.
We've been through a lot together, lifestyle changes, friends, family, partners, houses, vet emergencies everything came and went but you were always a constant. You'd meow happily, rubbing your soft cheeks on me and headbutting me when we sat out in the garden together.
You'd call out when you heard a food packet and happily clean your plate of every last morsel.
You've never let your weight get you down and for a chubby old gal, you were quick on your feet - the fastest Soot Sprite of the West, defender of laps and stealer of chicken wings.
When the vet called me in late July 2020 with the results of a biopsy, my heart sank. "Haru has oral squamous cell carcinoma" she said, an aggressive cancer that we couldn't cure. Your cancer was already at 1cm in diameter and your life expectancy was 2-4 months.
Since then, I did everything to make your last days the best they possibly could be. You got any treats and food your little heart desired, your once a year treat of birthday prawns became 'whenever you want" prawns but going outside on the leash was your favourite thing ever and every day you pawed at the door and looked at me with your big pleading eyes, asking to go out again. You seemed to be having a good time and for a while no one would ever have guessed you were terminally ill. We've taken about 18GB of photos together, including a silly 80's inspired photoshoot that I will print to hang on the wall and remember the good times. We have so many memories that I'll treasure until the day I die.
At about the 1.5 month after diagnosis mark, you began drooling a viscous, foul smelling saliva 24/7. That's when I knew you were starting to feel it more but you powered on, still excited about food and going outside so I knew it wasn't your time.
That was until Sunday September 27, 2020- The day you stopped eating, the day you refused all food and liquids. I tried everything I could to entice you to eat, your favourite food, new food, top of the line foods but you didn't want any of it. All day you were extremely cuddly and purring your little head off, all day you wanted nothing more than to be at my side and I knew it was time, I knew that was your way of saying "I've had enough now, I'm ready to go but I will always love you" it's like you were only holding on for my sake.
We spent hours in the garden today, we had a little picnic and let you roll around in the dirt. At 1pm the vet showed up and gave you a sedative, she said within 10mins you'd have calmed down and be ready for the next step. We sat in the garden together and waited. 10 mins, 15, 20 passed and you were still lively, growling at the vet and telling her off for daring to upset you in your own home. She gave you another sedative, now 15 times the normal dose but you still powered through and shouted obscenities. You wouldn't be you if you didn't go down fighting. Finally, the sedative began to work and the cannula went in, your eyes closed and you lowered your head. Within seconds you were gone.
You gave me a reason to smile every day, a reason to do better, a reason to try, a reason to live and a reason to love. We had an understanding, a deep and truly wonderful, unspoken bond that no one else shared. No cat could ever hold a candle to you and there will forever be a huge void in my heart and soul that can never be filled.
On October 14th 2020, one day before your 12th birthday I will be getting a memorial tattoo in honour of you. I will wear it with pride and tell everyone who wants to listen of your story, everyone will know how amazing you are and your memory will live on forever.
I am eternally grateful to have met you and had someone make as big an impact as you in my life. 11 years together wasn't long enough..
Tonight I'll be having a dinner of prawns in memory of you and I want everyone to think of you the next time they have prawns too.
You are my life, my happiness, my Nugget.
I love you, Haru.
My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today.
15th of October 2008 - 29th September 2020

Mirrors Part 1. A secret world I've been working on for over a YEAR.
"Ugh... Where am I?" It was too bright, he could barely open his eyes. "Lion? Are you there? Please tell me you didn't find another lizard..." The grass was soft under him, a soft breeze blowing by... The last thing Steven remembered was playing around with the large pink cat, when suddenly Lion had warped them to what he had thought was the Galaxy Warp. That is, until he saw it had only one Warp Pad, a glowing pink one. He had stepped on, and had been blinded by the flash of light.
"Lapis, is that... Is that Steven?! Lapis come quick, he might be hurt, humans don't like sleeping on the ground!" Peridot? Oh, the Warp Pad might have put him just outside the Temple! He chuckled, Lion was probably just playing tricks. The young boy turned over and shielded his eyes from the sun... This didn't look like the Temple at all!
What were Peridot and Lapis doing at the Barn though?
That was where Pearl and Amethyst lived.
The half Gem stood up, dusting his crimson t-shirt with that bright gold star he loved. He checked his gem, all clean. He looked over to the two Gems heading towards him... But they didn't look the way he knew them. Steven's eyes widened as he saw them. "Guys?" He asked, "What happened to you? Why are you guys wearing diamonds on your clothes? A-and Lapis, where's the bow around your stomach?! Peridot where are your limb enhancers?!"
Peridot, short with odd triangle hair like she'd had long ago according to Steven's memory, glared at him. Glared! The Gem who had stressed herself out to protect him and make sure he was happy, was glaring right at him! "Steven, that's not funny." She hissed.
Even Lapis looked confused, "Steven, I don't have a bow around my stomach, it's at my neck, remember?" Her eyes grew fearful. "You didn't hit your head did you?! Oh I've heard about humans who do that, they don't remember anything, do you remember meeting me?"
Of course he did! He had known them since he was born! Jasper, Peridot, and Lapis, the Crystal Gems! "I've known you all my life Lapis, you were there when I was born!"
Peridot gently put a hand on Lapis' arm. "Lapis... That's not our Steven, we need to do something."
The blue Gem looked so guilty. "O-okay, uh..." She waved her hand, and effortlessly a large bubble of water surrounded him. Just a ring shape though, the water being pressurized so he was just trapped in a large ring. "Sorry, Not-Steven, I-"
"Lapis! It IS me! I'm Steven, Rose Quartz's son! We're part of the Crystal Gems, we wear stars and protect humanity against threats! Like those Monsters and helping people out when they need it! Where's Jasper?!"
At that name, Lapis tensed up. "Steven, if this was supposed to be a joke, it isn't funny..." She said in a low voice. Peridot gasped, looking horrified as she took the taller Gem's hand and patted it.
Steven didn't understand... What was with them? Why was Lapis scared of Jasper?
The blonde Gem before him marched up to the ring. "I'm getting the Crystal Gems." She told Lapis. "Something's wrong with Steven."
~
Steven yawned and opened his eyes. Well this didn't look like home! Why was he sleeping at some foggy lake? There was a large Warp Pad right behind him, Lion's paw prints nearby but no Lion...
"Garnet? Amethyst? Pearl?"
"STEVEN!" An earth-shattering roar rang out through the forest. Thundering footsteps shaking the ground. "WHERE ARE YOU?!"
The young boy looked around, his heart racing and his mind going blank. Something was screaming for him, a voice he didn't know. Something big was coming, and by the sounds of the footsteps it was coming fast.
Steven ran through the forest, shield out on his arm, whatever was calling to him sounded angry, and he didn't want to be caught by some angry giant. He raced through the fog, heart pounding in his ears.
The half human emerged and smiled seeing the Barn in the distance, far but achievable. The thing roared, a cold wind blasting around him when it did. Steven ran down a hill, he would be okay, Lapis and Peridot would protect him.
A shadow passed over the sun, and a massive figure landed on the ground. As tall as Alexandrite, with 8 arms, starting as 4 only to split at the elbows. Its hair was a mess, shining pale green. Its skin alternated through stripes of vibrant orange, electric blue, and neon green. It had 4 large eyes, 3 blue and one gold. A large mouth filled with fangs breathed a pale blue fire that felt like a blizzard swirling around him. The thing wore a tight shirt that seemed to be ripped at the bottom, a short skirt and ripped leggings, all mixed with orange blue and green.
Something terrifyingly familiar? A bright gold star on its chest.
"STEVEN UNIVERSE!" It snarled. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH WE PANICKED LOOKING FOR YOU?!"
He backed away, panicking and trying to run away. "W-who are you?!" He asked.
In a brilliant flash of light, the being broke apart. "Steven."
His eyes widened. No... It couldn't be... "Steven, where did you go? What is this?"
Jasper stood before him, her long white hair flowing in the breeze, staring down at him with bright golden eyes. "J-Jasper!" Steven squeaked in fear. "Y-you're healed!"
"Healed?" A little voice asked from behind her. They stepped out from behind the large Quartz. Soft teal hair, slim with slight curves, the same height as Jasper too. She had a short turquoise skirt decorated with golden stars, a small teal bowl around her waist, and a halter top that left a little bit of her stomach exposed. 4 arms and two eyes, a dark teal color. Her skin was a pale bluish green and her feet were bare. "Steven!" She called, a huge smile on her face.
Jasper turned around to look at this odd Gem. "Turquoise, I'd like to talk to Steven with Lapis and Peridot if you'd please." She told... Turquoise? The teal one sighed, and in a small flash of blue and green light, Lapis and Peridot appeared before him, holding each other's hands tightly.
They didn't look like the Lapis and Peridot he knew though... Peridot's hair had split a little, forming a vague star shape, her uniform no longer had diamonds on it, but little gold stars. Lapis had a completely different dress too! No skirt and halter top, but a dress, deep blue with a large golden star on the side of the dress's skirt, a large white bow around her waist, the tails of the bow flowing behind her with a shiny veil at the side of her dress without the star, and a gold ring around her left ankle.
The two of them ran forward, the new Peridot hugging Steven tightly, the Lapis squeezing him too. The half Gem backed out of their hug though, feeling guilty when he saw their hurt faces. "I'm sorry, but I don't think you've got the right-"
"STEVEN!" Another voice called, sounding an awful lot like Amethyst... "Pearl, land here! I see them!"
A soft wooshing sound filled the air, and Steven's eyes went wide with amazement. Pearl was there, massive wings made from sand and bright light at her back, Amethyst in her arms. Pearl looked so different though, a somewhat short pale pink skirt that barely came down to her knees, along with a ripped looking pale pink tank top that left part of her stomach exposed, just like the Lapis he knew, she even had bare feet. Her hair was a mess, and on the two pieces of clothing were two triangles, two halves of a diamond.
Amethyst on the other hand... Looked familiar to say the least. She wore a mostly black and violet uniform, diamond shaped holes in the knees, her bangs held back by a pink diamond pin in her short fluffy lilac hair. She had little deep purple freckles in her cheeks, a tiny pink diamond on her stomach. She squirmed in Pearl's arms.
"Amethyst go easy, he could be hurt!" the other Pearl squawked. Her (actually pretty cool) wings shifted and were absorbed back into her gem. She placed the new Amethyst down, and now all of them had crowded him. "Steven, are you okay?"
The Peridot had hissed at her. "Of course he's not! He disappeared and just look! His shirt is all faded pink now, some light monster could have attacked him!" She panicked, fussing over him before her gem started to gleam. The Lapis groaned.
Out from her gem came little balls of light, which formed into what Steven recognized as Peridot's limb enhancers. She slipped them on quickly, her floating fingers checking the poor boy over. "Oh my Stars I was so worried, I thought the worst! We even fused into Ammolite just to find you quicker!"
Out of fear and confusion, Steven's bright pink bubble formed around him, blocking the most Gems out. "Just... Who are you guys?! Why are Pearl and Amethyst dressed like Homeworld Gems?!"
Pearl shrugged. "Cause we haven't gotten the chance to reform?"
Steven continued on his mini rant, the bubble gone now. "Why is Peridot's hair weird, why are you 3 dressed like Crystal Gems, how is Jasper not a corrupted beast, and where is Garnet?!"
This Lapis looked so hurt and confused. "Steven... You and I fused together, we beat her as Mystic Quartz, don't you remember...?"
The Amethyst glared at him, holding Pearl's arm in her chubby little hands. The tall pale Gem's eyes were wide with shock. "Steven, don't be a jerk, you know what she did, heck you watched Sapphire corrupt, and Ruby fuse with her so they'd be a monster together, I was there! I poofed her! Don't you remember the Alpha Kindergarten?"
"THE WHAT?!"
