answer pt. 2, because i went hard on a tangent when i first tried answering.

this shot appears in a japanese moana 2 trailer with zero context. either maui is on motonui in the sequel, someone is dreaming, or homeboy invented the first life-sized cardboard cutout.

My shipper heart really hopes Maui does get a chance to hang out with moana at home. and not just for the "Meet the Parents" cliche. Maui may pretend to be a Lone Wolf, but within 2 seconds of meeting him anyone can see the big demi-guy is an extrovert. He needs public facetime. He lives for attention. Get this poor man-child a support structure. Get him some therapy too while you're at it, but baby steps.

also i really love the headcanon that tui is gonna fanboy the heck out when he meets maui because COCONUTS. this is the guy who made COCONUTS happen. i need to draw tui and moni decked out in maui fanclub gear, tui thrusting a signed coconut aloft like he personally wrestled 3 other baseball fans for it.

but i wouldnt put any hopes on them meeting being canon based on this. similar splash promos were put out for the first film with maui & pua interacting, and we all know that didnt end up happening.

AS FOR maui's background,

irl polynesian history/tradition/mythology gives us plenty. disney might not go these routes, but given how well theyve treated his stories so far (imo extremely well), theres a great chance the broad strokes of his family life makes it into the disney canon.

with the caveat that every pacific island east of new guinea has its own culture and nuances they bring to the maui legends, there are enough overlaps to form a general 'myth-maui origin story'.

Maui was born the youngest of several (1-4) brothers and a debatable amount of sisters (1-4). His father was chief or royalty or half-god or all of the above, his uncles and grandfather likely the same. some of his uncles are described as giants. Theres a tongan legend that Maui senior invented the Umu (the underground oven we see them use in moana) and kept the secret of it for himself and his immediately family, the island elites (ali'i). Maui the trickster thought that was a shitty elitist idea and stole the secret of underground fire to share with the other islanders. Maui's father shows up in several versions of maui's underworld exploits, usually the fire stealing one, and usually after maui senior is already dead.

Maui's mom has variations of godliness herself. sometimes she's the goddess of tapa-making, sometimes she's the daughter or granddaughter of gods. sometimes she's the guardian of the door to the underworld, where she occasionally meets up with Maui's dead father. she cant join him down there, but Maui follows her one night and being half divine, he slips thru and meets his deceased relatives. Sometimes she's just a human woman who has 4-7 mouths to feed with a dead husband and unfortunately Maui the youngest is just one too many.

she cuts her hair, her topknot, and puts baby maui into it, throwing him at the mercy of the sea. most myths give her credit and say maui was mistaken for inviably premature or stillborn at this point, and that she didn't mean to murder her infant.

but most agree that it was from the sea that the gods found maui and raised him apart from his family, bestowing upon him strength and supernatural gifts. in myths where he's got godly parentage, his hook is made from the jawbone of one of these divine ancestors, usually a grandparent.

and then, at an age no one can quite agree on, maui is sent back. he meets his family again, his elder brothers all grown, his sisters mostly so. they all seem to be doing just fine without him. theyre upstanding community members, good fishermen, and the eldest is even chief. they dont believe maui the trickster is their brother at first, and it takes some timely memory jogging by mom to get them to accept him. the eldest maui bro is the most chill about it, but soon enough he too joins the ranks of the permanently peeved male maui-relatives. Our maui tries wowing them with feats of stength, cunning, magic- mostly he succeeds in making them jealous and angry. maui's tricks are all at their expenses. maui fouls their fishing lines, scares the fish, steals dessert, beats them silly in contests of strength.

the one thing they can do that he cant is fish. maui is terrible at it, resorts to stealing fish straight off their lines. maui is so bad at fishing that he gets his hook stuck in the floor of the ocean and pulls up an island, rather than the tuna he was aiming for. retroactively of course he claims he MEANT to do that-

but yeah. thats maui's home life.

maui's sister hina is way nicer to him. in one version of the sun pulling myth, she donates her hair to him to braid into the magic rope he lassos the sun with. the rapunzel-flower crossover potential is through the roof.

his mom was either terrible at names, calling all her sons 'maui' and her daughters' variations on Hina- or Hina is based on the word wahine, which is an intra-pacific term for generic womenly types. on any given island, in any particular telling you'll hear maui's mom called hina, his wives called hina, his sisters are called hina. makes it really fun tracking maui's genealogy let me tell you. it also explains why the woman in the eel story is anyone from maui's mom to his aunt to his sister to his sister-in-law to his wife to his daughter.

I'm sure everyone has that one relative who always mistakes them for another, sometimes cycling thru the entire family roster like a drop down box before hitting on the right name. "and this is my sister-in-law hina- i mean sina- hine? hima? Irena?" a hundred years or or of that and i guess i cant blame maui for making it easy on himself and just calling all the women of his family Hina.

not sure if this proves that maui was an overprotective brother to his favorite sister, but one of the more common stories is maui fucking around with his brother-in-law. the 100% mortal brother in law doesn't have a consistent name, but lets call him Doug. Doug hangs out with maui at hina's insistence. they go fishing together (bad plan) and predictibly, doug is slightly better at it than maui. hje also apperantly talks a lot, and it gets on maui's last nerve. maui picks doug up by the mouth and stretches his face & body out hill he has a muzzle and walks on all fours. maui then tattoos doug's lips black. This seems unnecessary but its the maori explanation for why dogs have black lines around their mouths so go figure. anyway, maui creates the first Dog out of doug then gives the creature back to his sister, saying he doesn't mind doug so much this way. Hina is horrified and runs away, inspiring her own epic adventures that have nothing to do with her brother until he shows up at the very end to pick her up in time for mom's funeral. at least thats the version i remember. my source material for hina's adventures in a post-dog world is very textbook dry and hard to parse. maybe one day i'll try rereading it and giving it a jazzy paraphrasing for yall. wont that be nice?

Hank had been awake for the last few hours by now, but he hadn’t left the bedroom. Hell, he hadn’t even left the bed. He hadn’t felt like being up and around, he didn’t want to interact with anyone. He just wanted to lay in bed all day and feel…whatever it was he was feeling.

For a while, he had been left alone to his own devices and he liked it that way. But then it began to get lonely, a different kind of lonely that Hank didn’t like. Despite the want for someone else near him, he didn’t move. Instead he just closed his eyes again and decided he’s just try and sleep some more.

But a dip in the bed made his eyes open again, and a hand carding through his hair made a noise leave his throat.

“Hey, big guy.” Deimos spoke, a hand rubbing over his cheek. Sanford’s hand running through his hair. “mmmh.” Hank hummed back, shifting slightly as Deimos took a seat next to him. “You doing okay?” Deimos asked, putting Hank’s head in his lap.

Hank just shrugged, not making eye contact with either of the two. He just stared at the wall as he felt Sanford sit against his back. “It’s almost 1 in the afternoon, we haven’t seen you all day so…we got a little worried.” Sanford hushed out, his voice was always so…comforting to Hank? Was that the right word?

Hank didn’t feel like talking. He didn’t feel like thinking. He just wanted to lay there with the other two. “Sorry.” Was all Hank managed out, voice still gruff from not being used. “Shhs. You don’t gotta apologize, big guy.” Deimos hushed him, rubbing his shoulders. Sanford leaned back onto Hank, resting on his side. “You wanna talk about it?” He offered.

Hank shook his head. There was nothing to talk about, he just felt bad for no reason.

“Just one of those days?” Deimos asked, frowning when Hank nodded. “Mmhm.”

Hank was pulled into a sitting position, and he didn’t fight. The man sat up, slouched slightly with his hands in his lap. “Anything we can do to help?” Sanford asked, putting his chin on Hank’s shoulder. Hank was quiet in thought, holding Deimos’ hands while the man rubbed his knuckles. “…stay?” He asked, uncharacteristically softly, still refusing eye contact. “‘Course, bubs.” Sanford replied, wrapping his arms around Hank’s waist. Deimos put Hank’s chin in his hands and rubbed circles into his cheeks with his thumbs.

It was odd, seeing Hank so much more…quieter than he usually was. Even when he hardly talked most days, he wasn’t quiet, quiet. It was almost out of character for him. The melancholic look on his face made Deimos’ heart hurt, and from the corner of his eyes he could see the same hurt in Sanford’s face. Deimos pulled Hank’s face to his own, kissing the man’s forehead. Sanford seemed to like that idea, as he squeezed Hank gently and kissed his cheek.

Hank squirmed in Sanford’s hold, a breathy “ha” leaving his mouth. Sanford passed a glance at Deimos, an eyebrow cocked slightly with a small smirk. For a moment, Deimos seemed a little confused; then he watched Hank’s reactions to Sanford’s movements.

“Nnheh. Sahan—“ Hank muttered, squirming again as Sanford squeezed his lower sides. “Hm? What’s up, squirmy?”

Deimos mouthed a quiet “oh” as he grinned slightly. He kept a hand on Hank’s chin as his other one went down to his ribs.

Hank made a noise and put a hand over his mouth, muffling the giggling pouring from him. “Hehey—!” He yelped, not bothering to fight. “Awe. What’s wrong, Hank?” Deimos cooed, wiggling his fingers over the other’s ribs. “Something tickle?” He teased lightly.

“Stahap..” Hank gave a breathy laugh, grabbing at Deimos’ wrist. Really, Hank wasn’t disturbed by this, hence the reason he didn’t fight as much.

“We’re not doing anything, big guy!” Deimos hummed, using his free hand to scritch Hank’s neck. “Well… aside from giving you affection, that is.” Sanford added, a grin on his face as he left a kiss behind Hank’s ear. Hank tried to groan in an annoyed manner, but it was broken up by laughter. Hank scrunched his shoulders, inhaling sharply through his nose when he felt Deimos’ hand on his neck prod faster. “Deimohohos!”

“Yeah Hank?”

“Stahahap ihit—!”

“I can’t! Well… not until you rest your shoulders. I’m kind of stuck.”

“Gehehet off mehehee.” Hank snorted, shaking his head to rid Deimos’ hand. “Not until we see you smile!” Sanford rapidly poked his fingers up and down Hank’s sides, buzzing into his ribs before shooting back down. “GAHAAh! Dohohon’t!” Hank squirmed around, not getting very far. “Don’t what?” Sanford asked, pulling his hands back before cementing them to Hank’s lower ribs. “Dooon’t this?”

Hank let out a quick burst of laughter, taking his hands backwards to put on Sanford’s wrists instead. Deimos quickly took advantage of that and his hands shot down to Hank’s stomach.

“hehEHY! HEHEY! Nohoho! Noho— Dohon’t you dahAHRE!” Hank barked through his wheezing. Deimos ignored Hank and clawed at the man’s stomach, digging in gently to the lower part of it before tracing the slightly chiseled muscles. He followed one of Hank’s old scars with just one claw, and Deimos laughed with Hank at his reaction.

Hank’s legs jolted as he tried to suck in his stomach, trying to pry away from Deimos’ claws. Hank let out an awkward squawk while Deimos’ claw traced the scar.

“GAHAHAD! You’re bohohoth behehehing aHAHSSHOLES!” Hank snorted again, trying to curl in on himself when he felt fingers drilling into his bones. “Hey now! You aren’t in a position to call us names, mister!” Deimos warned. “Y’know Hank? I think we should nickname you something else. I mean, “Hank” obviously doesn’t suit these kind of moments.” Sanford mused.

“NOHOHO! Nohoh you shohohohuld nahahaht!” Hank knew the game Sanford was trying to play, he wanted no part of that. “Deimos, how do you think… gigglebug sounds?”

“Aww, it’s cute.”

Hank squirmed again. “If yohohu try thahahaht nahahame I swear to goahahd!” Hank tried to threaten, but failed miserably as he melted in the others hands.

“I think Mr. Giggly here is grumpy.” Deimos grinned, poking around Hank’s stomach and legs. “Staahahahap teheheasing!” Hank whined. Sanford cooed. “Did you just whiiine?” He asked, watching as Hank hid his face in his shoulder.

After a little more teases and pokes from the other two, Hank eventually felt the tickles stop. And he had to restrain himself from missing the touch already. “Okay, we’re done.” Sanford chuckled, running his hand over Hank’s head and through his hair again.

“Ehehe… I dohon’t— *eham.* I don’t even remember why I was upset.” Hank said, relaxing in Sanford’s arms with Deimos rubbing his face again.

“Good! Means we did our job well.” Deimos grinned. He stood up and offered his hands to his partners. “C’mon, I’m starving and I’m sure you can say the same.” He pointed at Hank. Hank and Sanford both slid off the bed, and followed Deimos out.

Maybe Hank would allow them around him more, when he feels like that…

here’s my analysis of a 14-yr-old supernatural episode

so remember that episode where sam fucked a werewolf? because he related to her unwilling monstrosity? well that episode is actually just about dean starting to come to grips with his childhood and his sexuality.

if you ship w/ncest do not interact. this post is not anti-sam either btw.

content warning: discussions of childhood trauma, internalized homophobia, guns, killing.

does include some images with Image Descriptions following them.

Brief episode recap just in case u don’t remember. This ep is 2x17 “Heart.” Sam and Dean are hunting a werewolf. They discover that the woman they interviewed, Madison, is a werewolf (not THEE werewolf, but one of them). Sam develops a lil crush on her <3 I wrote the majority of this after watching it for the first time in almost SIX years, so i was just vibing the whole time UNTIL the last shot changed it all for me. So let me explain!

Three important points that i will refer back to:

1. The episode begins with Dean being excited to hunt a werewolf because "what about a human by day, a freak animal killing machine by moonlight don't you understand? I mean, werewolves are badass. We haven't seen one since we were kids."

2. Then the episode centers on Sam and his relationship with the werewolf woman and his own monstrosity: "[Dean: Sam, she's a monster and you're feeling sorry for her?] Maybe I understand her."

3. BUT THEN the last shot of the episode is of Dean crying as music plays (see below for the specific lyrics) and then Dean jumps at the sound of the gunshot. That's it! That's the end of the episode!

Even though the story is supposed to be about Sam and his monstrosity, and partly about his relationship w/romance since this is the first person he’s slept with since Jess died (at least with what is shown on screen)...the Dean Sandwich tells us otherwise. We're supposed to be taking away something about DEAN here. Like, that's the whole purpose behind the last shot focusing solely on Dean instead of Sam who is AT THAT MOMENT, KILLING THE GIRL HE HAS FEELINGS FOR. It's literally a heartbreaking, devastating, super traumatic thing for Sam to be going through, but instead we're watching Dean as a single tear slides down his face lmao. It's because this episode is about DEAN, and furthering his story.

Let’s not queer this just yet. The death of the werewolf is about/representing his loss of innocence. It's a violent disconnect from his childhood. Point # 1 shows that he is fascinated by werewolves because since he was a kid he thought they were badass, not to mention all the werewolf films he references throughout. Then, through the music lyrics over that last scene, they mirror that theme of childhood. They’ve done this before, having the diegetic music directly reference what the characters are going through. No different here: Dean is the child they’re referring to.

I have to reiterate that that's the last thing we hear before the gunshot cuts the music short and then the cut to black. "You were scared" is the last thing we hear before the gunshot, as Dean cries. ALSO I have to reiterate that Dean was looking forward to killing a werewolf and shooting it himself. So it's super fascinating that, not only is Sam the one that kills the werewolf, WE DON’T EVEN SEE IT HAPPEN.

Am i gonna have to say this now? The werewolf is a metaphor, okay? It's a metaphor for his innocence, which is long-dead, forever doomed. I mean, a lot of kids love werewolves because they ARE badass! It's a classic monster that anyone could easily obsess over, and with Dean's childhood it must've seemed even cooler, knowing they're real and having the power to kill this "mythical" beast. So the way he's looking forward to killing one is the way a child imagines themselves as a hero.

But what happens instead is a tragic mercy killing. It's flipping his fantasy completely on its head, and it makes Dean realize that.....his fantasies are just fantasies. They aren't real, never would be. There's nothing heroic about killing this werewolf. It's tragic as hell. When he offers to kill her himself, it's just to relieve Sam's burden, but he's reluctant still. Because, as he keeps saying, he doesn't want to be a hunter! He doesn't want this life! He's tired of killing! And that's also what he's mourning as he cries and startles at the gunshot. His fantasies will never be real and his childhood could never have been normal and he never got a chance to be a kid because being a hunter was thrust on him at such a young age. And now it feels inescapable.

So now we can queer it :-) Of course all monster stories can be easily queered, but werewolves are popularly queered. The first example that comes to mind is An American Werewolf in London (1981) isn’t an overtly queer film (though it is Jewish!) but it’s definitely read that way by a lot of people!! Anyway the film was directed by John Landis which JUST SO HAPPENS to be the pseudonym Dean goes by in this episode. hmm. (Also, interestingly, the BTVS ep where the first gay character comes out references this film too)

There’s this essay about the queer werewolf that you can read here (and they also talk about fandom in it! very fascinating), where they say in the intro: “the werewolf seems an obvious choice as a queer monster with its identity-disrupting hybridity, as well as its atavistic, and, thus, disallowable sexuality.” A lot like Kristeva’s theory of the abject body! which is popular in queer theory.

This episode is then queering Sam—his attraction to the werewolf makes him abject—but it also queers Dean thru the way his attitude towards the werewolf transforms (get it?) throughout the ep. His desire and eagerness to kill the werewolves is obviously ingrained in him from John’s parenting. Consider what he said in 2x03 “Bloodlust”: “And the way he raised us, to hate those things—and man, I hate them, I do.” In conjunction with the monsters in the show being seen as queer allegories (the gorgon, as an example of an explicit comparison), Dean’s excitement to kill the werewolf can be read as internalized homophobia and repressing any of his own feelings.

Remember, though, right before that line in “Bloodlust,” he also said, “What if we killed things that didn’t deserve killing?” He’s really beginning to question whether all monsters are bad, and what it means to kill them. Is he also questioning what he believes of queer people? What John believed of queer people? The loss of innocence and queering both slot together through that final shot, imo: he’s crying because he realizes his fantasies aren’t real, but he’s also mourning the fact that he never could have had the chance to grow up without John’s control, and now it’s forever tainted his worldview. What else could he have been without that? (The answer is evident in 4x17 “It’s a Terrible Life.”)

Dean was taught to hate queer people but he doesn't want to. He wants to get out of the life but it feels inescapable. He wants to kill a werewolf and then when he has the chance, he doesn't want to. He actually cries as it's killed. It scares him, having to confront that what he thought he knew was wrong, but he knows all the same that he’ll never have the chance to have grown up without that.

AAAHHH i hope you’re enjoying the manga so far! 💖i totally agree that inosuke and nezuko has one of the cutest friendship ever, like can you imagine.... one feral boy caring for his one (1) precious little sister 😭😭 when i first read this my heart totally melted

but from what i remember there really isn’t much of their interactions at all in the manga, the most we get is a panel here and there or in some extra pages.... ;__; i definitely recommend you to read the sequel one-shot called "tanjirou's status reports" though! the crumbs we get there is SOO cute <3

first creation and most recent creation of 2020: i only just started giffing again this year after more than 5 years so my first set was... um not the best lmao but it was this 2gether one from april and my most recent one is this one from run on

one of your favorite creations from 2020: i don’t have a #1 creation but all my comp sets have a special place in my heart including this one which just happened by chance. i really loved the 1st shot of the pan down to their knees touching and wanted to use it somehow and it evolved into this set

a creation you’re really proud of: for quotesets i usually start with the quote in mind and then plan the visual around it so for this do you like brahms one, i didn’t have a specific vision for how i wanted it to look like but i really like how it turned out!! and i just think the emma quote is such a good fit for them ♡

a new style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it: i experimented with quotesets / fonts, colouring and blending like with this cherry magic one, this i told sunset about you one and this it’s okay to not be okay one but i’m def still learning a lot!! esp from other creators 😍

its been a busy fuckin week for this mod my ladz!!! i thought i would just give an end of week run down how everything is going, everything added so far and my to do list! also discord!!! and patreon!!! but i’ll talk abt that after this!! a general run down if u dnt know what this wip mod is:

The Royalty Mod gives your sims the opportunity to being the reigning Monarch of your game. They have the chance to become a Beloved Ruler or a Despised Tyrant (and will be treated as such!) They will be completely in control of a custom tax system, will the be benevolent and keep the taxes low or be greedy and fill their coffers with their subject’s simoleans? Be careful though, your actions will affect your citizens and their views of you! Your Monarch will be the most important piece of the puzzle, as they will be able to give titles to family and friends... or even a random street vendor. Having your Monarch bestow titles such as Crown Royals, Royal Partners, Servants, Court Wizards and more, keeps you out of CAS and IN your game! No more stopping and starting your gameplay!

A general overview of everything included so far:

Monarch: - A custom Heir system: Your Monarch can choose anyone bestowed with the title of Crown Royal or Royal Partner to become the next in line to the throne! And if they decide they made a mistake, the Heir can be disowned :((( sad lyfe As soon as the Monarch passes away, the Heir will automatically claim the throne! - If your Monarch dies before they get a chance to name an heir, then any Crown Royal or Royal Partner can vie for the throne. Whoever the people choose (gets to reputation level 6 - very good) first, will become the next Monarch! - Teens and up can become the Monarch, (lookin at u edward the 6th) - Custom tax system! Raise taxes to get more money instantly and in your weekly tax collection, but incur the ire of your subjects! Lower taxes and you will lose money and earn less each week but your subjects will love you! - Your Monarch will draw a crowd wherever they go! Even with no fame points they’ll attract a mass of adoring onlookers. (But no paparazzi for my historical players) - Make world-wide decrees - Listen to your subjects pressing concerns by telling your Trusted Advisor that you will hold a hearing, get that gud gud karma!! - Make anyone a Crown Royal! - Make the land celebrate your own birthday with a new Monarch’s Birthday tradition, with custom goals to be met! - Don’t walk like the rest of these peasants, make sure to enable your royal stride to royally stand out from the crowd. Not enough? Enable your regal glow to really drive home that you’re better than everyone else! - Royal greetings! - Allow your subjects to commence Sunday trading on a lot with the Market lot trait! Townies will come and man the stalls every sunday 9-3 and the royal family can peruse and purchase to their hearts content! -probably more that im forgetting!!!

Heirs, Crown Royals & Royal Partners: - Titles are bestowed by the monarch, crown royals & heirs can be titled at birth and Royal Partners can be titled after marriage! - Both can be named as Heir, and both can vie for the throne if the Monarch dies unexpectedly! - Your Monarch can make anyone a Crown Royal, so if you gameplayed that your Monarch adopted a poor orphan kid, then they can have a shot at the throne too! - All have multiple different social and skill modifiers, so they can make new friends fast and be better at everything than them! - Also all have their own socials - ALSO all can be completely banished from the royal family - u can defo marry into the royal family if u wanted, and make ur peasant family the next gen of royals ;))) - loads more but im so tired

Trusted Advisor: - Your Monarch will choose their trusted advisor! they advice! u on stuff! so choose wisely! - everything about taxes, beginning situations, domestic affair (and planning to add LOADS more) goes thru ur advisor, just like it does in real life and by real life i mean i think i just made that up - way more 2 come bros

The Mean Girls club gets destroyed

So a while back I had the joy of stopping around 5 girls who had been openly using and abusing people. Most of them ended up losing partners and almost all their friends one lost their job two went to jail and they all lost their social status.

So context, years ago I worked in a large corporate store, trust me you would know if I told you the name. Now during this time I was in a dark place emotionally for various reasons and was very much a loaner which led to me being a target for this one girl (let’s call her CS for cos-play slut) now I know it sounds terrible me calling her that but really it’s what she was and trust me as this story goes on you’ll see why.

Now she quickly befriends me and gets me to help with video editing and photo shots I say yes as at the time I was trying to get into content creation and figured it’d help and I was a very lonely depressed virgin at the time and any girl showing interest in me made my brain go crazy. Looking back I kick myself for letting her use me that way but I was stupid and didn’t know better. This girl used me for everything from making me edit videos for her and her friends totaling around 3 or 4 videos a day all with different styles and length to getting up early to help with shoots that had to be done at sun up to get “the magic hour”. (I know it’s a real thing but still not the best thing to spend your day doing when your days off are spent making videos)

As well as using my help for her online stuff she used me for a lot of other things rides to her “meetings” with potential photographers (she never picked her them she was just sleeping with them) to buying her movie tickets that’d she would go to claim being alone with me in a theatre made her nervous so I’d have to wait outside for then I’d have to buy her food on a daily basis at work then if we ever did anything outside of it.

Now I know this sounds like I was the worlds biggest cuck and yeah I was. I had no self confidence as previously stated was a virgin with very little ability to socialize and never learned to choose how and when to give my help. So I was an easy target for all this, my parents tried to warn me against it but i didn’t listen and even at one point told her I liked her only for her to laugh in my face.

This went on for months in that time I quit content creation but was still editing her videos and was always doing something for her. One day while she was having me buy her supplies for another cosplay we ran into another girl whom we will call RB (random bitch) she was nice enough very energetic at first and I felt like we could get along so we exchanged info and became friends on fb. Afterwards CS told me how she was in a relationship and not to try and hit on her not even talk to her because I gave off a “creeper” vibe.

I only mention that interaction before this next one because it is chronological and because it was the first time I can ever trace back to the two of them working together against me. So after that CS starts going after another guy not gonna give him a special name but let’s just say he was terrible I mean really bad. Him and CS meet up once bang them he tells her all these lies about emotional damage and how they have to keep things a secret but still wants to be together. She believes him but he ghosts her she gets worried and has me look into from my end with an old friend. Now here two things happen that to this day I’m happy happened because it let me later on get my revenge the first was I created a second fb account pretending to be a girl the next was CS gave me full access to her fb.

Now like I said this dude was bad news he was cheating on her didn’t even need to catfish him just sent him a friend request and got dp back. Then I learned from some friends he did this serially and then ran across a girl who after I asked her about him responded “that’s the man that raped me don’t contact me again.”

I gathered all this evidence and brought it to CS and she flat out refused to believe it was real claiming I had faked it and was just jealous of him and that she and I were never going to be friends again. I said ok and we stopped being friends.

Now then that was my interaction with CS, after we broke off our friendship I started messaging RB and we became friends little did I know the real story behind them. I’ll be quicker with this than with RB but to put it lightly she was worse she would constantly have me just give her money and buy her things like expensive things. I never felt like I could say no because if I did she would give a sob story about her sad childhood and me being a bleeding heart would cave.

This went on for two years during which time I got a lot better more self confident and a better all around person but i always would go back to my sad self when she would belittle me. Finally I had had enough I told her to stop messaging me and we weren’t friends anymore. She took it hard dragging my name thru the mud at the end of it I had one friend left.

Skip ahead two months and I’m feeling way better I’m smiling more often no longer wanna take my own life and am feeling great. But I was still upset about everything that had happened but couldn’t do anything that was until I got bored one day and was looking thru my phone and saw something interesting. CS’s account was still logged into my phone a second profile. On a lark I tried opening it it let me she hadn’t changed her password and had given it permission to just sign in.

I thought I was just gonna have a weird voyeuristic look into her life but what I found was even worse a fb group that was literally called “Mean Girls Club” in it I found 5 girls including RB and CS all talking about what they were getting guys to buy them and do for them. It was horrid to look at I scrolled up and up and up all the way to the first message and it went back years. I don’t know how but these 5 had been doing it for so long it was crazy.

It was then I started to form a plan. The first thing I did was screen shot everything and when I mean everything I mean I had thousands of pictures from this including but not limited to pictures of stuff they had bought or had bought for them. Nudes of their partners or of people they were interested in and then the biggest one a shared drop box folder filled with pictures and videos of them doing a lot of nasty stuff I mean really bad. Apparently this whole thing was set up so that none of them could stop nor back down at anytime due to the blackmail Dropbox and the fact the rest of the group would back the others.

I know this is crazy to understand but let me put it this way from what I gathered to OG group was a total of 8 girls and 1 guy the numbers that left all were told they would be ruined and boy was it bad. I read about them making some of the people leaving lose their jobs and families falsely accusing the one guy of rape of which if what they said was true he was forced to move to another state because of the rumors.

On top of that they ruined a local store making them go out of business and then getting another guy thrown in jail after they accused him of attacking one of them. I can list plenty of what they did that was bad but mostly all of it was them bragging about guys they were using for stuff and money and what they could get them to buy them. I of course was on there as was everything I ever bought them totaling around 5500 over two years. The two of them CS and RB were so proud of what they did.

I was astonished by what had happened and was honestly very hurt by it all I knew they were bitches but nothing of this level. So I did what anybody would do I turned them against each other. The first thing I did was use my fake profile to enter into the group chat under the guise of a friend of CS’s. Took some time and creative use of the two profiles but I did it then moved onto insight some war by messaging each of them about the others of the course of a month I had them all suspicious of each other with some he said she said then I struck with one reveal.

I sent RB’s bf a message from CS’S profile in sighting them to openly flirt then took a step back and told RB about it. All the while with my fake profile I told CS that RB wanted to burn her by sending out her blackmail then I messaged the rest relaying info on the upcoming conflict telling them to prepare to burn another person if someone else struck (think start of world war 1 but with 20 something girls). 3 hours was all it took from went that past message went out to the first “bomb” fell. It was glorious each one destroying the other telling significant others about lies cheating and theft. Jobs being called about misuse of company property and inappropriate behavior in the work place. Full on sex tapes were posted to tons of porn sites.

It was three months later that the dust cleared everyone but CS had deleted their social media accounts. It was then that CS started in on my fake account demanding for some form a of repayment stating she had never added me to the the group and that no one had had any dirt on me so I was unscathed. I responded with “Well let’s just say I’m a bitch, the names Karma.”

I deleted the profile and lost the login info for CS. I keep the Dropbox stuff though and screenshots since I’m sure if they ever put two and two together they could guess who I was. But now a full year later nothing.

I’ve not been able to know more then the basic repercussions of this sense I didn’t know the other three personally but RB ended up homeless for a few months before going to jail sense some of the blackmail was a video of her doing drugs while skipping a court date about drug use (she openly stated in the video the date and that the courts could suck it and told them later she was helping a friend go thru some hard time to get an extension) jail due to her breaking parole and lying to a judge. CS lost her day job and all but around 30 of over 5k followers as well as her bf who she was cheating on then he back up bf since she was cheating on him with another guy who was just in it for the sex. Last I heard she moved back in with her parents and can’t keep a job due to her running into people who know what happened.

TL:DR Got emotionally and financially used by two girls and then made their mean girl chat destroy each other’s lives.

It’s Pink Season! - Chapter 1 - A JoJo OC fanfic

(i should preface this by giving this fic some context -- this fic took four OCs of four different people (one of them is me!) from a JoJo discord server that i hold especially dear to my heart. i set myself the challenge of taking these characters from wildly different imaginations and trying to piece together a cohesive story where they all interact with each other. to the owners of these OCs, i hope i’ll do them justice. this fic is estimated to last 4/5 chapters, and depending on my free time, maybe i’ll do something like this again with more OCs from other people, who knows :) anyways hope you guys enjoy what i’ve got so far!)

Rémi sighed as he stared out the faintly fogged windshield of the SPW-assigned black sedan, quietly eyeing the suburban road ahead and its enveloping morning mist, delivering a sense of eerie tranquility. Despite its unimpressive, mundane exterior, the sedan's interior had been fitted with a number of luxurious modifications, though all Rémi really cared about were the body-heat-sensitive automatic air conditioner and the fruit juice dispenser.

He wasn't particularly fond of driving, especially considering it was somewhat illegal for him to (of course, the foundation had some strings pulled just for him, to his obligation), but Kyra was too lazy, and God forbid anyone tries to argue with her. As for Claudia…he didn't really want to trouble her. It's been about two weeks since he and Kyra were assigned to be her bodyguards. She always kept somewhat of a distance, but lately she seemed to be steadily warming up to them. He knew very little about the intentions of the Speedwagon Foundation, and whatever this girl meant to them was nothing short of an enigma to him.

What piqued his curiosity more, however, was the mysterious briefcase, currently sitting in the backseat next to Claudia. He and Kyra were instructed yesterday to deliver it to a safehouse uptown from Brooklyn, and that's as far as he knows about it. One thing he knew for sure, however, was that if the foundation had to contact stand users like him for a simple job like this, it meant two things: One, whatever it was in that briefcase was incredibly important, and two, there were very dangerous people who want it.

"I'm huuuuunnnnggrrryyyyyyy. Can we take a pit stop?" Kyra purred from her passenger seat in half-hearted irritance. Rémi felt his left eye twitch a little.

"We just left the hotel two hours ago. Tell me you're joking."

"Well the food was pretty shit so I kind of just ate one egg." Kyra idly tapped at the condensed window by her right ear. The tapping made Rémi's grip on the wheel tighten.

But it wasn't because he was annoyed. Moreso, he was worried. He really wanted to get this job over and done with as soon as possible, with as few breaks as possible.

"Well that's your fault, Kyra."

"What am I supposed to do now? Survive off some fuckin' fruit juice until we reach Brooklyn? Come onnn Rémi, show some pity won't ya."

Rémi's eyes darted around the environment before him. Quiet morning, quiet road. Not many pedestrians. He knew that an attack could arrive anytime. But it wasn't that he was worried about his safety. He had full confidence in his stand to protect him.

The ability to copy attributes. With just a touch, his stand could replicate the attribute of an object. It could be its material, its flexibility, its strength, even its intelligence or speed if it was alive. He knew that this ability, coupled with the ability to wear his own stand like a suit of armor, would serve as a decent defense against a whole variety of attacks.

"Can't you just hold tight for another three hours or so?" Rémi retorted dismissively. "We'll have lunch then. Also, don't fucking insult the fruit juice dispenser."

"I'll insult what I want, kid," Kyra snapped back with an accented hiss. "And look, what if we get attacked? How am I supposed to kick ass on an empty stomach? I gotta get my energy somewhere."

Rémi pursed his lips. He knew she wasn't exactly joking.

The ability to redirect and transfer energy. Kyra's stand allowed her to manipulate any energy that comes within contact of it. Heat, electricity, kinetic energy, her stand could control its flow however it wanted. Ever had Rémi witnessed her manipulating the energy of life itself, sending her own life force into allies to speed up their recovery. Couple this with her additional ability to form a metallic cat-like defensive suit around parts of her body, and she made for a lethal, well-rounded ally. Dare Rémi say, she could probably easily floor him in a matter of seconds.

If only she wasn't such a bitch to work with.

Rémi wasn't worried about her safety one bit either. What really kept his knuckles white against the steering wheel was the quiet girl sitting in the back of the sedan.

As he pulled the car to a stop at a traffic junction, he shot a glance at Claudia through the rearview mirror. He didn't want to bring her along with them for the delivery, but both he and Kyra were given strict orders not to let her leave either of their sights for any extended period of time.

"Rém… Rém, are you ignoring me? Rémiiiiiiii, come onnnn. Okay, I'm sorry for calling you a kid, alright kid? Come on, you know I get a little cranky when I'm peckish." Kyra pulled a cartoonish pouty face. "Can't we just, iunno, fuckin' grab a sandwich from a gas station nearby or something? Just one. I'll be quick. You know I'm quick on my feet. Oh come on, back me up here Dia."

"..."

"Dia?"

The young Spanish girl stayed silent, palms pressed against the door window, eyes fixated on something along the pavement. Rémi followed her gaze and found himself staring at a neatly dressed gentleman sitting on a bench. He looked middle-aged and worryingly tired.

Claudia was a stand user, that much Rémi knew. He also knew it was a rather low-power stand type. The thought of her getting stuck in the thick of a stand battle made Rémi furrow his brow in concern. Especially with that stand of hers…

That stand of hers, hovering right behind the gentleman on the bench. Intricate black and gold details shimmered, lit by the dawn light, all along the leathery texture of the lean, hunched humanoid, from its sullen black-net-veiled face, down to its smoke-like ankles that surrounded its legs in a despairing shroud of gray. It held one leathery hand, embroidered with dull gold gear patterns, against the right shoulder of the man, shuddering and trembling, of which the man took no heed of. Not that he would, he was no stand user, plus he had much more urgent things to be focused on, like the shallowing of his breaths and the tightness in his chest.

He couldn't even hear how much the ghostly figure behind him was crying.

The man gripped his shirt above his heart in excruciating pain, his gasping growing more and more rapid and desperate, attracting the attention of some pedestrians. Panic was starting to spread along the sidewalk as people rushed to his side, some screaming to call for an ambulance.

But Rémi knew better than to interfere, and so did Kyra. He shot a glance at Claudia's mortified face, one that he's gotten much more used to now, and knew that there was nothing they could do anyway.

The light turned green.

"Try not to focus on it too much, Dia." Rémi murmured in a low voice as he pressed down on the pedal and drove away from the scene.

The ability to sense fated death.

* * * * *

It was coming to noon now, and the three had been driving for hours.

"Shit… Kyra, pass me the map. I think I already passed the right junction." Rémi pursed his lips in frustration.

"No you haven't, we haven't even passed the Five Guys yet." Kyra said. "Speaking which, whatcha say about a quick drive-thru lunch? I could kill for some Five Guys right now."

"That can't be right. I've been driving way too long. Hold up, let me take a U-turn."

"Oh come on, are you really gonna drag this out? We're gonna have lunch in fucking Christmas at this point."

"I checked the surrounding vicinity of this car… there is no Five Guys within fifty meters ahead of us."

A cold, despondent voice suddenly cut through the comfortably body-heat-sensitive-automatically chilled air of the sedan. Claudia's stand had its head partially phased through the windshield, weary eyes piercing through Rémi's own. Kyra let out a curt screech in surprise.

"God fucking- DIA! Can you at least warn us before you pull up your Gloom-boy like that next time?" She hissed.

Claudia kept her gaze somewhat absentmindedly out the door window, her voice held timid. "Gloomy Sunday has his own sentience. I let him do what he wants."

Rémi cursed quietly under his breath. "That can't be right. So we did pass it. I'm turning back." He gave the wheel a sharp twist, swerving the sedan to the left side of the surprisingly empty road and began backtracking.

Except he didn't feel like he was backtracking at all.

"C’est quoi ce bordel...?" Rémi muttered as he scanned the buildings around him in astonishment. The whole environment that was just behind him moments ago suddenly felt unsettlingly unfamiliar to him. He wasn't even sure he had ever passed by this area before. But that wasn't possible… was it?

He glanced at Kyra. He could tell it wasn't just him. This wasn't some Jamais vu.

"Yo… this doesn't look right. Since when did we pass by here?" Kyra squinted her eyes as she peered around.

"...Is something wrong?" Claudia looked up at Rémi through the rearview mirror, seemingly gripping the handle of the car door a little tighter.

Rémi drew a short breath. "I'm not sure. I'll backtrack a little further…" The environment only seemed to grow more and more foreign, yet with an uncanny sense of familiarity, like everything was unrecognizable, yet perfectly normal at the same time. Rémi soon found himself unsure of which junctions and turns he took, and it was not long before he found himself completely lost, and nothing short of confused.

"Kyra, I need you to check the map."

"Dude, I have no fucking clue where we are on the map."

"Shit, none of this feels right. I swear, we couldn't have gotten lost so quickly like that…"

Kyra already had a metallic paw forming over her right hand, tipped at the fingertips to resemble claws. "This is a fucking stand attack!? Book it, Rémi. We need to get the hell away from these buildings right now!"

"I know what I'm supposed to do!" And with that, Rémi slammed the pedal and started darting straight through the unsettlingly empty road. So long as they can get out of this complex maze of buildings, they'll stand a better chance. He needed to find the edge of the town.

Claudia suddenly gave a shriek. "Wait, Rémi! In front of you! Watch out!"

In front of the car, no further than ten meters away, what looked like the basic silhouette of a human figure started to form seemingly from nowhere, atop the silhouette of a motorcycle. As the sedan drew closer, the details of the figure gradually grew more and more distinct, almost as though it was melting into existence out of thin air. The sedan was approaching it fast. Dangerously fast.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!" Kyra screeched, reaching for the steering wheel from her passenger seat. "SWERVE, RÉMI! FUCKING SWERVE!"

"LA VACHE! SHUT UP! I'M TRYING!" Rémi swung the wheel hard to the right. "I'M TRY-"

The sedan narrowly missed the figure, only to crash headfirst into absolutely nothing.

More seriously, it’s gr8 b/c:

1) Shiki and Aozaki are actually the true “polar opposites” of the Awakusu-kai– while Akabayashi tends to complement them both rather than serving as a true foil (hence, OT3). Like, Ao and Shiki contrast right down to their aesthetics (-BIG BRAWN SQUARES COLOR- & -skinny brains triangles gray-). Aozaki is also the posterboy for OG yakuza, while Shiki is the posterboy for the new intelliyakuza. And they’re both the respective right-hand men to the “heads of the Awakusu,” yet the relationships they have with their bosses are massively different. And they’re both unfailingly loyal, but Shiki’s loyalty to Mikiya seems like another one of his careful calculations while Aozaki’s loyalty is all about ~*~THE HEART~*~

Like… the root of the problem is that they are both the “ideal employee.” But they’re ideals that come from totally different time periods, and they’re ideals for different definitions of what it means to be a “yakuza”– so they won’t ever see eye-to-eye (and then there’s Akabayashi, who understands the perspective of both sides and is able to mediate between the two in his own way when he’s not being the asshole who’s instigating a fight in the first place. Again, OT3).

2) Shiki likes to act like he’s above all the petty hijinks that his coworkers get into– only to turn right around and be the pettiest asshole who ever lived wherever and whenever Aozaki is concerned. I love the hypocrisy of it all.

Like, read thru all the awks sections in the novels and take a shot every time Shiki either singles Aozaki out, blames him for something he didn’t even do, or assumes the general worst of him and u will find urself pleasantly buzzed and also animorphing into this meme:

But as I mentioned in the tags of that AoKaza post, Shiki’s resentment of Aozaki actually adds more to an already well-established character. Shiki has received so much characterization as a mature, rational, and self-disciplined man– So his intensely biased view of Aozaki sticks out like a sore thumb, especially since it’s so completely lacking in -any- sort of self-awareness. I can’t help wanting Narita to do more with it– and the best way to “do more” would be to, you known, actually have them interact more often (and smooch…!).

3. I like cat/dog motifs and the animal shiki gets compared to most is a wolf, so

seeing as that’s a little bit broad, even for me, im going to narrow it down with the scenes that are more action based

the main reason for this is mostly bc if i left it that broad (or even just based this countdown on Emotional Gut Punch-based scenes) Everyone can see from a mile away that i’d put the po finds the truth sequence in first, with the soothsayer’s and shen’s final scene as a close second and thats no fun if y’all Know

this got Super Long bc i wanted to YELL

honorable mentions:

oogway v kai: if kfp3 had anything going for it, it was the spectacle of the spirit realm. seeing oogway fight?? cool. the banter?? quality. on top of that, the spirit realm is an interesting place to fight in w the zero g thing going on… in concept. here’s the thing about the shift to qi blast-based fighting– you lose the physicality of the blows. like, for instance, when kai is hit with the first qi blast that literally spells out qi, his body language says that he at least felt that but with the way the qi dissipates like loose snow particle effects it… idk, left me wanting more??? then again, that could just be a case of oogway proverbially pulling his punches, but that’s too much filling in the blanks on my partas much as i nitpick, it was a fun fight

shen v. the master’s council: the only reason why this is in the honorable mentions is that a) that was barely a fight and was cut off by yknow. blasting t. rhino to smithereens and b) its still the best display of shen’s fighting stylei just. ITS SO GOOD???? just the way shen’s almost dance-like movements contrast with the council’s overall brute force, headstrong way of attacking. the bit where he distracts croc w the fan of his train to stop his attack for a sec so he has enough time to dispatch ox???? Cinematic Poetry

5. musician’s village

this bit is here mostly for the interactions between po and the five, as well as the ways they tag team against the wolves. it makes me do an emotion ok!! hes fighting w his heroes, and the techniques they employ in tandem like rescuing that one pig lmao

also the setting of a mountainside village was real novel at the time. also, there was real tension when the wolves broke thru the fog, and again when they get the metal and that shot where you see the gorillas on a neighboring peak, slightly obscured by fog?? thats just a nice bit of atmosphere

4. prison break

look, i don’t care for tai lung, but it just so happens hes part of two (2) scenes i like lmao

first thing’s first-- the color in this scene is impressive; despite how dark it is, the action is still v readable. im a sucker for kfp’s color symbolism, limiting the palette with the Negative (blue) and Power (red) color, with the exception of his eyes is just a nice touch. like. he sees himself as the hero of his own story and that hes just doing what he believes is his right and hes ascending past these terrible trials and tribulations

there is also the fact that this first Big Impressive kung fu feat you see and just. the bit where theres a rain of arrows and the only thing between him and getting shot at is this tiny elevator. thats a goode moment that just stands out to me, in terms of visuals

3. tower fall

while this isnt exactly an action scene in the sense of them fighting, its just a really good scene in regards of the scope, as well as the Emotional Gut Punch to po. in this moment, the synchronicity he’s had with the five has been shaken up slightly, and he’s left in an emotional state that’s less than ideal if you want to fight a megalomaniac warlord

the overpowering red as they try to figure out how to escape really adds to the tension of the situation as the tower they’re in is being gunned down by a barrage of cannonballs and just the moment where they run on the outside of the tower as the wolves shoot at them with flaming arrows is just a really fun setpiece

2. bridge fight

according to the directors’ commentary at the time, it was a pretty hard scene to actually make and DAMN did it pay off

admittedly, in theory there isn’t a lot of things to play with, fight-wise, in regards to a long bridge with a whole bunch of nothing on all sides. but at the time when i first watched it, i never considered “the bridge itself” to be an option

with the way the Extremely Limited ground plane of the bridge shifts, it adds an extra challenge for the ground-bound fighters (which is basically almost all of them except like. crane), as well as a point of tension-- the bridge needs to be held up, after all

as the prison break showed tai lung’s prowess, the bridge fight is the same for the five, giving them Something important and substantial to do, whether trading blows or trying to incapacitate tl

1. zen ball master

AW HELL YEA. every time i see zen ball master my heart swells with pride irt po-- my boye!! he did it!!! just the scene played out, the music, the color, it was all so good!!!!

like in the musician’s village scene, you get to see some po/five tag team moves which is always nice. but the fact that the council and shifu somehow make it there really makes it a Big Thing Yknow???

for instance, the way they used color to show which side was overpowering who. for most of the sequence, it’s set at night and is offset with Shen’s Red to show that he has Absolute Control of the scene. the desolate greys in that harbor scene where all hope is lost. the gradual shift from night/red to daybreak/gold as po finally achieves inner peace and redirects the cannonball

then there’s also the music?? ill talk abt the way the leitmotifs were used in a separate post but. the bit where po redirects the cannonball for the first time, almost blindly, the way the orchestra kinda quiets for a moment, as if they’re also processing what happened with the rest of the characters is just a good bit

y’all it’s going down i’m yelling fuck u spartans

this might be spoilery so watch yaself but here’s what we know from next week’s sneak peek:

1. liv tyler’s cunt brother is tryna find his niece using Lydia Quigley (idk if he finds out through lydia that the kid is the product of his incest-y rape but as of the end of 2x07 he doesn’t know)

lydia comes thru on this because she is both the f u c k i n g w o r s t and pretty good at getting vile shit done in a rush

2. lord fallon tries to smother amelia and violet puts an end to that bullshit by knocking him out

this results in them holding fallon hostage in hunt’s house congrats y’all

3. lucy finds out that lord fallon AIN’T SHIT and that her mother is “dead” because of how he manipulated her - and she tells him as much when he’s bound and gagged by The Gang u fuckin go girl

ALSO while fallon is bound n gagged amelia’s mom hurts him (go church lady go church lady go!!)

4. will gets aggressive with hunt and hunt is appropriately scared but we can only guess the context

my handsome under-appreciated son webster is also bein’ roughed up by someone and i’m ready to fight!!

5. lydia is locked up in a house (hers?) so that’s a score for the team but who knows who locked her up

6. charlotte is having A Rough Time but there’s one shot where she’s looking pretty dope with her lil heart shaped beauty mark so she’s trying her best

7. there’s an interaction between liv tyler/lady fitz, her brother, and her daughter and i have ZERO idea of how that’s gonna go down

8. “LET’S GELD HIM” re: lord fallon but then someone (violet?) is like “not yet we want them all” and then there’s a shot of lord fallon in a dark room surrounded by presumably the other spartans and it’s not looking greatttt for him

does fallon escape just to be fall into the arms of the spartans and be ceremonially killed by them for being a

so here’s some stuff i think is gonna happen that probably isn’t because i’m bad at guessing shit:

1. will finds out that Margaret is alive! he’s shook! he’s gotta get her before she leaves! does he tell their kids? is lucy’s guilt lifted?

2. they’re gonna get lord fallon to be spartan bait - maybe he’ll even do so willingly since he does actually seem to be pretty gone for lucy in 2x07 (i guess even murderous dicks can have feelings or whatever you call the weird shit going on in his head abt her) but i doubt it

3. someone’s gonna die! or multiple people! probably lord fallon and ideally liv tyler’s evil brother and in my dream of dreams it’s all of the spartans die but is god really that kind

okay so i've been following you for a long time now mostly bc of the FE content, and i always see yugioh on my dash bc of you (it's gr8 i'm not complaining) bc of this i really wanna start watching it but i feel like i won't get things if i don't watch the original or the stuff before Arc V. I mean everyone’s gonna have their bias in any franchise with multiple entries and yes by now literally everyone knows my bias but here I’m gonna give you my most unbiased opinion possible on them all to hopefully give you some perspective and hopefully you choose whichever one is most appealing to you and no don’t worry you dont have to have seen any of them in any order before watching any of them!! You can just jump right into any and enjoy card games in heck ok so here goes (I won’t spoil anything, I promise!):

TL;DR answer: No, you don’t need to have seen any of the Yugioh series before any of them to just jump right into any, just like with any FE game. I don’t have a straightforward recommendation for which Yugioh you should start with because I really believe you should be able to start with whichever appeals to you most. Though, if I had you watch only one Yugioh, of course my vote would be for Arc V.

(Longer answer with detail on each of the spinoffs under the cut.)

Duel Monsters aka DM aka “the original Yugioh”:•Number of episodes: 224•Basic summary: Normal high school kid solves the Millenium Puzzle, a mystical pendant with the soul of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh, and goes thru many trials and tribulations to find out the mysteries of said pharaoh’s past (with card games!) and save the world.•Who it’s for: This is probably the most mystical/(fictionally)mythological of all the Yugiohs and the original, of course. Major themes include The Power of Friendship and… I mean there’s others but basically that’s the main MAJOR theme. Anyway, if you like archaeology themes and seeing heroes overcome the odds thanks to their friends’ support and don’t mind sitting through really long arcs (with pretty amusing recurring characters), this Yugioh is for you.

GX:•Number of episodes: 180•Basic summary: So dueling is an actual profession and there are actual schools that get you thru all the basics as if it was an actual real life college major or smth and our hero is just a normal teen kid without a care in the world that just wants to be the very best like no one ever was except for the school he applies and gets into and lives for the next 3 years of his life trying to achieve this is literally fucking cursed have fun.•Who it’s for: So you like slice of life anime? So you like slice of life anime with characters that are really interesting and have good development? So you like slice of life anime with teen drama? So you like slice of life anime with a bit of trauma? So you like slice of life anime with childrens trading card games from actual hell? WELL BOY YOU’RE IN FOR A REAL TREAT, THIS YUGIOH IS FOR YOU!!

5Ds:•Number of episodes: 154•Basic summary: Wow how do I summarize this one? Well, basically our hero and his entourage are all trying to save their city (and basically the whole world) from both an ancient mystical force AND a futuristic force. Yes. Time travel is a thing here. Are you also a Zelda fan, by any chance? Welcome to the Ocarina of Time of the Yugioh franchise (#TIMELINESPLITTER).•Who it’s for: Yes, this is indeed the CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES anime that perhaps you’ve heard about, but trust me the concept is more intriguing than you might think. If you like innovative ideas and themes about changeable and intertwining destinies + the bonds between the hero and all those who he’s befriended and met, then you’ll love this Yugioh.

Zexal (I+II):•Number of episodes: 73 in Zexal I, 73 in Zexal II. 146 total. The shortest of all the Yugiohs (so far).•Basic summary: The entire story comprises of the bond between a boy and his alien (which only he can see and interact with) and trying to regain said alien’s memory back which was split into 99 cards. Zexal II expands on this as the alien begins to regain his memories.•Who it’s for: Major themes in this show include overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles and learning compassion from both your allies AND your enemies. Hell, I’d say rival bonds are one of the major themes here too. If you like ultra sci-fi settings and aliens and intergalactic wars, this Yugioh is for you.

Arc V:•Number of episodes: 148•Basic summary: Our hero starts off wanting to simply work towards becoming a great entertainer like his missing father was but along the way finds out the world is much larger than he ever could have imagined it could be while also finding out the hard way that [Chrom voice] war is hell. (Alternatively, [Kiragi voice] war is HECK). •Who it’s for: Yeah this show is about war but it’s also about the psychological implications of war and the innocents it affects and the irreversible consequences that come with it. It’s also very personal story about overcoming your own self, despite pressure from society. Unlike with the past shows, while there is still a sense of camaraderie between the characters, Arc V’s themes are much more individualistic. The two major themes of this show are to “take a step forward with courage” and finding a way to bring peace and make everyone smile. Ultimately, if you like wonderfully cute/pretty yet heart-wrenching aesthetics, this Yugioh is for you (and for me).Note on Arc V: This show does have references to past Yugiohs and also features characters from past series, but it is ultimately an AU of each of the past shows so there is no continuity from them to be seen here, meaning that even if you start with Arc V, you won’t be spoiling yourself or confused about said references from past series. Mainly the references are there as happy nods to the fandom veterans, kinda like how Awakening has a bunch of nods to past FE games but they don’t meddle with the story (I myself started with Awakening and didn’t find myself confused by any of the references, or noticed them at first, just to put things in perspective since it’s exactly like that with Arc V). [Speaking of FE, I have a feeling that if you liked Awakening, you’ll like Arc V...]

Vrains:•Number of episodes: ongoing (it just started airing like ~8 weeks ago)•Basic summary: Our hero trying to figure out his own past while in conflict with 2 other enemy factions that are chasing him cuz he took a very important AI for hostage. (Tbh there’s not much to go on since it’s still very early so sorry this is the most I can say about it.)•Who it’s for: Similar to Zexal, if you like futuristic, VR-centered themes (kinda like SAO lol) you’ll probably like the idea of this Yugioh. So far, I can’t really say much more because, again, it’s still very early in its run.

Okay well, I tried hiding my bias as much as I could. I think there’s something to be enjoyed from each of the series, but of course my absolute favorite (by a very long shot) is Arc V so I’d recommend that over any of the others. Just a quick ranking of the Yugiohs based on my experience watching them: 1. Arc V3. GX/5Ds (I can never decide, sorry)4. DM5. Zexal

(no ranking for Vrains cuz yeah)Lastly, even despite all this (and my undying love for Arc V), I really, really think you should just watch whichever seems most appealing to you! If you do decide to start a Yugioh, I’ll be happy no matter what! I hope at the very least some of this helped. Happy watching!!

there's kind of a rush from starship to make mx big before they start enlisting i think :( it's kind of sad to think about. that's probably why they've been working nonstop since all in. i think starship expected them to make it big from debut (thus the rush to get a first win and taking their phones away) and mx was promised that but things didn't go as planned. at least that's the feeling i'm getting. i think the success of part 2.5 will determine if they're going to stay in japan or korea

YESYES^^^^^^^^^^^^ idk some people rly.... think no mercy was..... a reliable portrait of reality jkfhdsg. when ppl take it too far and say the others rly mistreated him or hated him it makes my eyes roll back into my skull idk like !!! do u rly think!!! no mercy was one big scripted story with convenient narrative arcs and changkyun’s ate arrival was one of them. i think at that point it was obvious changkyun was going to debut?? and how do u make an audience like someone in the shortest amount of time possible? u make them sympathise with him/his situation. no mercy was very organised storytelling, if u know what i mean, it is a very narrative-driven show with victims and villains and timed hurdles and it concludes in a very neat way.

THANK YOU for pointing out how obviously scripted no mercy was; like honestly any reality show from any country is overproduced and you have to take everything with a grain of salt. But here's the real question (and you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable): did starship already have the final lineup planned? Personally I think that some were gonna make it regardless (jooheon, shownu, kihyun) and that the others weren't finalized until later, but idk man it's still a big debate

i agree!! but i’d definitely add changkyun to the planned debut lineup. i think starship wanted to debut yoonho originally but they realised too late that he wasn’t ready yet. also, it’s interesting what they did w #gun bc they rly made u like him as a person, rly sympathise w him, rly anticipate him when it was kind of clear in a hip hop group there would b a high tone rapper and a low tone rapper... and jooheon was definitely going to debut like 100% lmao so the high tone slot was taken from the beginning. i think starship had plans for #gun already at that point but he wasn’t gonna make it into mx. and i think wonho was also most likely in the lineup, but it wasn’t decided at the beginning of the show like it was with the other three u mentioned.. probably somewhere along the line. i think Perhaps hyungwon n minhyuk were in the dark.
