the heavy guilt lingered , maternal instincts are present , despite the reality of still remembering that she had created them , still A MOTHER'S LOVE is powerful no matter how they became to be , as poetic as it may seem to be , her heart knew ( and by every universe that she's travelled ) THEY ARE REAL . THEY EXIST . THEY ARE HERS . billy and tommy : were are the very embodiment of her dreams . to be a part of her . to be a mother , to have a family .
so the guilt that everything had happened , happened . TO HAVE MISSED so much already about him , how he'd grown , when it all started or rather HOW . it was still , a big puzzle piece that the choas witch had questions yet to have answers from . and she thought , she'd seen it all . to have come back from the multiple jumps from timeline to timeline only to then return to the POSSIBILITY OF REALLY , TRULY now have him physically before her eyes was still so shocking , hurtful that even agatha , and these witches were able to spend time with him , with her son more than her .
she's still , trying to find words that could convey her emotions of both confusion but seeking for comfort . somehow finding ease from the older witch THOUGH GUARD WAS STILL UP , trust was still hard to come by . and what ifs were presently clouding her thoughts ( what if they'll shield him away from me , what if there's resentment that he feels with me out of the picture , what if he never sees me ) “ but i was gone–- and i've been to EVERY UNIVERSE that i could even possibly feel my children's presence , and he was here all along , and i couldn't even feel that it happened . and that i missed it all , he doesn't even recognise me ”

AGAIN: SPOILERS UNDER CUT!
The moment you saw it on TV, you knew you had to get to Bucky. You weren’t planning on leaving until the next day, but there was no way you weren’t going. So you caught the first plane you could from the base you were staying at.
You’re feelings were all over the place. Steve had been your best friend for more than the past decade. You were the one there when he first woke up. You were the one to help him get situated. You were the one to help him whenever he needed, to go over to his little place in DC when he was having problems, like the time he thought he was having an asthma attack when it was an anxiety attack or when you had to help him find a new phone after he accidentally broke his.
You were that close to falling in love with him. But life went the other way and, in a weird twist of fate, almost as if the universe wanted to spare you of the heartbreak it knew would come if you gave your heart to the dashing captain, you ended up tripping over your own feet for someone else.
Someone you would never tell.
He was the last thing you had left of Steve and you couldn’t ruin that because of your stupid feelings. And you couldn’t ruin the relationship you had now because it was working. He trusted you, more than anyone else. He trusted you because Steve trusted you and you wouldn’t dare break that trust.
You just hoped, with everything going down in relation to the shield - to his legacy - that you’d be able to keep that promise you made to yourself.
You were in front of his door early in the morning - around four - hesitating to knock. It didn’t take long for him to respond the moment your fist did meet the door.
He looked…tired. You wished, oh how you wished, that you could do more. Anything more. He insisted you helped him plenty already; he claimed he never had nightmares when you were by his side. But it wasn’t enough. Not for what he’d been through. You felt as though you were merely putting a bandaid over a bullet wound.
His chocolate locks were short, above his ears. You could remember how hesitant yet eager he was about doing it. It was difficult to not cut his ear off because he kept moving in anticipation. You would know: you cut it. Those blue eyes that made you trip in the first place were outlined by thick lashes, dark ebony bags beneath them, making the azure pop. He was shirtless, as he usually was when sleeping (or at least trying to sleep), his dog tags resting against his sternum.
You could tell he hadn’t been sleeping. His eyes were bloodshot as if he was watching TV for too long and his hair was less messy than it would be if he actually slept.
The moment his eyes found yours, his plump, chapped lips turned up into the grin he reserved for you and he was pulling you in. Your reaction was instantaneous, your arms slipping around his waist, your chin resting on his shoulder as he found home in the crook of your neck.
He was touch deprived. You knew this, but you never brought it up. Especially considering you were one of the only people he touched willingly. You didn’t want him thinking he was broken, more so than he thought he was already. And you definitely didn’t want to push him into fixing himself. So you didn’t tell him, even though you were pretty sure he knew, and you just let him take the lead.
Sometimes it meant he grabbed your hand in large crowds, or tucked you under his arm when he was threatened. Other times it meant laying his head in your lap when he was tired late at night, or a soft hug in greeting.
Hands slowly tracing his spine, fingers dancing up and down his back, you gave a small smile when you felt him practically purring in your embrace. You could never decide if he was more puppy or kitten. You used to make jokes about the three of them, Steve, Bucky, and Sam, being like a puppy, kitten, and bird that you had to reluctantly pet sit for a friend. You would give almost anything to be joking around like that with them when you went to visit Bucky in Wakanda with Steve.
“Buck?”
He hummed. You didn’t want to pull back, you wanted to stay connected with him for as long as possible, but you had to talk. You didn’t want to talk about it, because that would make it more real, but you had to. You had to.
“Have you seen the news recently?”
His eyebrows furrowed, his lips pulling down. “What happened? Is it Wanda?”
You looked down the hall, your lips pressed together tightly, before nodding inside. “We have to talk.”
He nodded, stepping back and pulling you inside. Seeing the makeshift bed on the floor against the far edge of the sofa made you inwardly sigh, but you didn’t say anything about it. Steve was the same way at first.
“Is she okay? Did you find her? Where-”
“It’s not Wanda.” Turning, you faced him, trying to control your own anger at the situation, knowing it wouldn’t help him any. “It’s…it’s about Steve.”
Those spectacularly blue eyes narrowed, bottom lip being sucked in between his teeth. “What about Steve?”
You gestured for him to come closer, holding out your hand in offering. He took it and followed you as you led him to the couch. A cleared throat and a deep breath later found you gently explaining what happened to him. That the government had taken back the shield and had given it to someone else. A ‘hero just for America’. A ‘new Captain America’.
You could see his features harden with every word, his jaw ticking dangerously, his chest heaving and his nostrils flaring. You squeezed his hand as you finished. “He’s got meetings and stuff with senators and governors. They’re taking him on a tour this week. They-they want me to meet him, considering I’m the last of the original seven. Active on Earth, at least.”
The tears that started forming in his eyes made you swallow your own emotions down thickly. He didn’t need your hatred of this wannabe to fuel his own. He needed your support and comfort. He needed to know you’d be by his side through this.
“Are you?”
You blinked, not expecting his first words to be that question. “Am I what?”
“Going to meet with him?”
“I-I…” You stopped talking, knowing that if you continued you’d end up ranting about how he wasn’t your captain. How he could never be your captain. Debating answers, you decided on a simple, blunt reply. “No.”
“Why…”
Running your thumb over his knuckles, you leaned over slowly to press a chaste kiss to his bare skin and blood shoulder. “Take your time. Collect your thoughts.”
He responded to your words by taking a deep breath, clenching his eyes shut, his jaw so tight you feared he might chip his teeth. It was a tense minute before he said anything, the room being filled with his harsh breathing. “You said he gave them the shield.”
“What?”
“Yesterday. You told me he gave up the shield. They put it in the Smithsonian. But you just said they took it from him.”
“He did give it to them, but-”
“Why?” His eyes snapped open, his features twisting into ones of frustration and resentment. “Why’d he give it to them?”
You shook your head, knowing Sam didn’t mean for any of that to happen. He had called you a few weeks ago to ask about your opinion on the matter. You told him that Steve trusted him, and you trusted Steve, so if Sam thought that was the right thing to do…you trusted him. “It’s not Sam’s fault. Don’t be mad-”
“Don’t be mad?! Don’t be mad?!” Bucky shot up, ripping his hand away from yours, making you bite your lip and hang your head as he paced in front of you. “Steve gave it to him! And he just gives it away like he’s regifting a shitty frisbee as a Christmas present! And you don’t want me to be mad?! Are you fucking kidding me, Y/N?!”
Cringing at the use of your name, which you rarely hear fall from his lips, especially in vexation like just then, you looked up at him, eyes pleading. “Bucky, I get it. I do. I’m mad, too. I’m-I’m furious. But you can’t blame Sam. Please. He just - he’s trying, Buck. Just like me. Just like you. We’re all trying.”
Bucky’s shoulders fell as he stared at you, eyes darting from feature to feature as he studied your face. Before you could say anything else, he was on the floor in front of you, in between your legs, arms wrapped around your waist and face pressed into your stomach.
You could tell he was holding something back - something big - but you wouldn’t push him. You never did. Displaying feelings was always hard for him, even in the early 1900’s; Steve used to tell you stories when you were looking for him after the fiasco in DC. Bucky grew up being the oldest of four and the only boy. On top of that, his best friend was a scrawny, stubborn, punching bag of a boy. According to Stevie, neither of them really learned how to cope or how to deal with feelings. And it showed. Boy, did it show.
Instead of getting on him and asking what was wrong and begging for him to talk to you, your fingers tangled in his hair, nails scratching his scalp, as you sat back to make the position more comfortable for him.
“Stay with me. I need you.”
You leaned down to press a soft kiss to his head, nodding into his hair. “I’ll stay. For as long as you need me, Buckaroo.”

You were very angry with your best friend.
Carol Danvers made you drive three hours to her university and her dorm, only to leave you locked out.
You were calling for the ninth or tenth time when the phone went to voicemail again and you resisted the urge to throw the phone away and left a new message.
"Carol, if you haven't had an accident, I'm going to strangle you when you get here." You grumbled against the device. "I'm at your dorm door, where the hell are you?"
You waited for another fifteen minutes before a redheaded girl approached you, clearly wanting to open the door.
"Can I help you?" She asked curiously, you let out a sigh.
"You must be Natasha, Carol told me about you." You say and the girl confirms with a nod. "I'm her friend from NYU, she just stood me up."
The girl laughed lightly as she unlocked the door.
"No, she's just drunk in the building next door." She told you and you frowned. "Steve Rogers is having a party in the boys' dorm, and the last time I saw her, she was dancing on the table."
Natasha came into the room, beckoning you to follow her. She threw the bag she was carrying on the bed, and you threw your backpack on the bed that was supposed to be Carol's.
"I'm going to kill her." You grumble angrily, and Nat laughs.
"Please don't do that, nice roommates are hard to find." She jokes, sitting down on the bed. You laugh, taking one last look at your cell phone.
"Are you going to stick around?" You ask and the girl looks at you with a raised eyebrow.  "Carol had told me that you were going to sleep with your boyfriend or something, so the bed would be free." You clarify with flushed cheeks.
Nat bites her lips, slightly thoughtful.
"It's that option off." She comments. "We broke up tonight so."
"Damn, I'm sorry."
"It's okay." She assures with a smile. "He was kind of a jerk. And I do prefer chicks anyway."
You nod, not really knowing what to say. Nat looks at you with squinted eyes.
"Are you into girls?" She asks suddenly and you feel your cheeks heat up.
"S-sure." You reply. "But I'm not interested in you." You say and she raises her eyebrows in surprise, and you hasten to add. "No, sorry. Damn it is... I didn't mean it like that... I.... You're pretty and all but.... I don't... " You start to ramble on and she crosses her arms, looking at you with an amused smile on her lips. You take a deep breath before responding more firmly. "I meant that I'm already dating someone."
Nat laughs.
"I don't see a ring."
You blush looking at your hands at the same moment, and then looking at her.
"I..."
"I'm just messing with you." She says next, and you sigh with relief. But then she has a mischievous expression next. "But if you want my advice, I would put on a ring. A pretty girl like you sometimes needs a chain."
You swallowed dryly, looking away quickly. And then the door opened, and your best friend stumbled drunkenly inside, and she was not alone.
"Wow, I didn't know there were people here" Complains a very pretty black girl holding your friend by the waist and slightly startled when she notices you. Carol had her back turned and blinked in surprise when she turned around, clearly drunk. You crossed your arms.
"Hey, I know you!" She laughingly commented pointing her finger at you. You rolled your eyes, not being able to stay mad at her like that. It was funny.
"Ah, I have one of those faces you know." You commented with a smile. "Or maybe it's the fucking picture of us on your headboard."
Carol looked at you for a second and then let out a surprised exclamation, throwing her arms around you.
"I can't believe you're here! I've missed you so much!" she exclaimed happily hugging you and you rolled your eyes, laughing at her inebriated state. You held out your hand to greet the other girl as Carol stood over you.
"You must be Maria, right?" you asked and she confirmed with a nod, half embarrassed. "I was hoping to meet you over coffee, but I guess this will do."
Maria laughs lightly, she too looks drunk.
You sigh impatiently as you take Carol's arms off of you.
"We'll have a talk about commitment when you're sober, my sweet friend." You say to the blonde, who just smiles at you.
"Let's get something to drink while these two make out." Natasha comments getting up and pulling you by the hand.
//-//
You both end up in the dorm cafeteria, and you rub your forehead lightly, feeling tired.
"Is there somewhere for me to sleep, around here?" You ask Nat as you sit down at one of the tables. "I really don't want to drive to a motel."
Nat stands thoughtfully for a few seconds.
"You can sleep in Maria's bed, since she's sleeping with Carol." She suggests and you sigh, taking a sip of the drink you bought from the machine. The coffee was not good, and you grimaced.
"God, that's awful." You comment and Nat laughs.
"Yeah, nobody ever orders that."
"And why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I love to mess with the NYU kids."
You look at her in surprise, but then you laugh and Nat follows you.
"Fair enough." You grumble. The rivalry between the two colleges was not something unfamiliar to you.
"You might as well try Rogers' party." She starts with a suggestive smile. "Find a one-night stand, and get a bed to share."
You frown.
"I already told you I'm taken."
Nat laughs, taking a sip of her soda before speaking again.
"Yeah, and I'm not buying it."
You laugh, running your hands through your hair. Then you pull your cell phone out of your jacket pocket, and look for a picture in your gallery. You sigh when you don't find what you're looking for.
"Okay, I don't have any pictures with her, but that doesn't mean I'm lying..."
Nat laughs, placing the drink on the table and reaching for your cell phone, turning it over to herself. A picture of a redheaded girl on the glass screen.
"She's pretty." Nat comments. "Why don't you have pictures?"
You sigh, deciding if you should share with someone you just met. From what Carol said, Natasha was a nice girl. And honestly, you already liked her.
"We're not an official thing yet." You say shrugging, and putting your cell phone away, then putting your hands in your pockets. "Well, we are a thing. I'm just not sure what."
"Wow, that's trouble." She comments. "This kind of thing usually ends with everyone getting hurt."
"Yeah, I know." You mumble half annoyed. "But that it's temporary. We just need to connect properly, and everything will work out."
Nat looks at you with an insinuating smile.
"Someone is very much in love." She scoffs and you shrug, blushing. "That explains your gay panic earlier when I flirted with you."
You laugh sheepishly.
"Shut up."

You become friends with Natasha Romanoff after that. And now, almost three months later, you are single. Again.
"You know what, Wanda, do whatever you want." You retort angrily before slamming the door on your way out.
The first place you end up is in the outdoor area of the campus, sitting under one of the trees with your eyes closed.
"You young people are so dramatic." You hear a female voice comment wryly and open your eyes to face Professor Harkness, who teaches Social Psychology, standing in front of you with her hands in the pockets of her cardigan. She was probably one of the most controversial people you knew, impeccable teacher, but with questionable jokes. You liked her however.
"Hi, Mrs. Harkness." You mumbled.
"May I ask why you are striking the pose of the dramatic hero in a romance film? There are literally dry leaves falling all around you." She teases with a smile, you chuckle lightly.
"It's nothing, Mrs. Harkness." You tell her and she makes a slight movement with her head, indicating for you to walk with her. You sigh before standing up.
"I was talking to Principal Okoye at the entrance to the girls' dorm about the new coffee machines they installed in the teachers' lounge, and I, as well as the rest of the dorm, overheard your little disagreement with Miss Maximoff." She told as you walked side by side. You bit the inside of your cheeks, embarrassed. "Of course, my concern is that your grades will be affected by this conflict."
You laugh lightly, staring at the path in front of you. Mrs. Harkness was known for getting involved in the personal dramas of the students, and seemed to get a good kick out of it. You sighed lightly.
"Wanda and I are taking a break." You counters, and Harkness gives a chuckle.
"Young people, and these new forms of relationships." She retorts. "In my day we had one date and we were already getting married!"
"Is that why you divorced Professor Bohner?" You retort and Harkness seems impressed that you strike back, but laughs.
"Don't be a smart-ass, huh?"
You laugh, shaking your head slightly. A moment later, Agatha speaks again.
"Maybe I'm not in my position to comment, but I'm going to bring it up anyway." She begins. "I've noticed that you get especially quiet in my classes when you have some disagreement with Mrs.Maximoff, which is a shame, since I love the debates you bring to my class."
"I'm really starting to believe that all this talk is about the subject matter." You retort with a smile and you stop walking at a crossroads. The teacher smiles at you.
"Next week we're going to have an important test." She says. "Maybe you two should work things out between yourselves so that it doesn't affect your grades."
"Thanks for the warning, Ms.Harkness." You comment with an embarrassed smile.
She nods before walking toward the main building. You head in the opposite direction, thinking about spending some time in the game room.

You are playing pool when Tony Stark joins you. Resisting the urge to use the stick on his face instead of the ball, you take a deep breath and play.
"What's up, Y/N?" He asks with a cocky little smile and you roll your eyes. From the timing and the annoying way rumors were spreading around the university, he should have heard about your little disagreement with Wanda.
"I'd watch your next words if I were you, Stark." You mumble menacingly. "I'm the one holding a bat."
He laughs, raising his hands in surrender for a moment. A drink that should be whiskey dangling between his fingers.
"I came here as a friend." He retorts and you watch the table, waiting for your partner, Clint Barton, to make his move.
"We're not friends." You say and Stark laughs again, making an expression of fake offense that makes you roll your eyes in impatience. "What do you want?”
"A favor."
"God must be testing me." You say bending down to make your move in the game. Stark smiles realizing that you will listen to what he has to say.
"I'm having a party on Saturday." He begins and you walk around the table. "I wish your friend Pepper was there."
"Do I look like a cupid, Stark?" You retort impatiently. "Even more so for someone like you. I wouldn't do that to Pepper."
Stark laughs awkwardly.
"Hey, come on." He says. "This story again? I already apologized, it's water under the bridge."
You grip the bat tightly, looking at Stark angrily, and he sighs. "Look, I'm not like that anymore, okay?" he continues. "Pepper is a nice girl, and I'm trying to get serious with her, but she blocked me and I can't invite her to a party."
"You're ridiculous." You comment impatiently. "Knowing you, you'll hound me until I say yes. Tell you what, I'll tell Pepper you're having a party, and you don't talk to me for the next year, okay?"
Tony let out an exclamation of celebration and rushed to give you a kiss on the cheek before quickly pulling away before you slapped him. He ran outside, waving and laughing.
"You know, I'm still amazed at how cool you can be." Clint comments as you turn your attention back to the game. You blink in confusion.
"Why do you say that?"
"I would have killed Tony if he had done what he did to Wanda to Laura." He says as you play along. "I think it's pretty mature the way you both went through it, and you forgave him despite everything."
You shake your head.
"He didn't do anything to me, I have nothing to forgive." You retort. "I've known him since he was a kid, and he's always been a jerk." You say. "After what happened, I was very angry. But then time passed, and he's just a colleague now. If he leaves me alone, I have no reason to fight with him."
"Yet here you are arranging a date for him."
You let out a chuckle.
"Oh, yeah." You say. "How long before Tony finds out that Pepper is engaged, I wonder."
Clint blinks and then lets out a laugh.
"I'm impressed."
"Don't be." You say. "The best advantage of that story is that he won't talk to me for a whole year."
Clint laughs and you two play in silence.
When you finish, with him winning by a few points, it is you who pays the bill as you both bet.
On the way out, Laura calls him, and you go back to your dorm.

You skip the first period on Friday, Art History, because you sleep too much after staying up at dawn re-reading your messages with Wanda.
It's frustrating the way you can't get her out of your head.
Stumbling out of your bed, you are still yawning when you get out of the shower, and then you put on your first set of sweatshirts and leave for your next class.
Professor Harkness is already in the classroom when you enter.
You look at Wanda, already seated in one of the back seats when you sit down, but she quickly looks away from you.
"Dears, today I've brought a very relevant topic for our end-of-semester paper" Agatha begins as everyone sits down, and the bell rings. She has a twinkle in her eyes that makes you frown. "Let's talk a little about relationships today."
You look at the teacher in disbelief, and Harkness actually had the audacity to throw you a little smile before turning on the slides.
Sighing, you laid your head on one of your arms, starting to make some notes, knowing that this was going to be a long and awkward lesson.
"And so we can conclude that setting boundaries turns out to be a crucial part of a healthy relationship." Said Professor Harkness many minutes later. You were drawing a small doll with your pencil on the sheet and were startled when she called your name next. "Honey, I wanted your opinion on this topic."
You blinked in confusion, shaking your head slightly. Looking forward, you noticed that Agatha was pointing to the slide. The topic was "How to avoid fights and emotional fallout in a relationship?"
You mumbled to yourself that it was a great question, and Agatha asked you to speak up.
Blushing a little, you took a deep breath, trying to think of a decent answer.
"I would say that communication is one of the most important steps, Ms. Harkness." You answer then Agatha smiles at you.
"Yes, that is correct." She says. "And talking is the key. Not arguing, or accusing. Or offend. Talk."
You risk looking behind you and blush when you find Wanda already looking at you. You quickly turn your head forward. This is so childish, you think, trying to turn your attention back to class.

After your last period, you want to sleep. But there is a flood in the ladies' room and the dormitory is in absolute chaos, and it is also very hot, so you are heading outside two minutes after you have arrived in your room.
Your roommate, Darcy Lewis, catches up with you outside, extending a cigarette to you, but you refuse with a nod, though you stand beside her.
"I haven't seen you in a few days, is everything okay?" She asks casually between puffs. You shrug, and she smiles. "Let me guess, Wanda?"
"I'm so predictable, right?" you retort and she laughs.
"No, you're just in love."
You let out a dry laugh, looking at the small crowd of girls waiting for the bathroom flood to be cleaned up by the cleaning crew outside.
"What's the deal with you guys, anyway?" Darcy asks with a frown. "Everyone has seen you two exchanging kisses in the same number that you''ve exchanged screams."
You run your hand through your hair, pulling the strands out of front of your eyes.
"We have too much history, that's all." You say. "Wanda doesn't quite know how she wants us to happen, and so we fight."
"Shit, that's sucks." She comments taking a long drag. You sigh, shrugging your shoulders.
"Yeah, it is what it is, sister." You retort. "She's got me tied up like a puppy while she decides what she wants to do."
Darcy is thoughtful for a moment, and then she puts out her cigarette.
"Look, you're a nice girl, and we've shared the same room for three years. I like you. " She begins, and you look at her curiously. "I think I can help you."
"Okay?"
"You know, I used to have a fling with a friend in high school, Jane, but she never let things be official between us, you know? Like she put me on hold mode." She tells you and you nod in understanding. "That just hurt me, until I took action."
"What did you do?"
"An ultimatum of course!" She says. "You need to confront her! If not, she will continue to think she can throw you over the edge whenever she wants. And you can't back down, you hear me? Or things could get worse."
You sigh, putting your hands in your pockets.
"I'm not very good with conflict." You say and Darcy puts her hand on your shoulder.
"Come on, you can do it." She tries to encourage you with a smile. Seeing your lack of reaction, she adds with a grin. "You can always make her jealous too."
"What?"
"Actually, she's looking over here with a deadly stare so I think you're already on this path." Darcy comments and you look back, only to catch a glimpse of Wanda's angry gaze before she turns and walks away from the dormitory. You let out a sigh.
"Shit." You say turning to Darcy quickly just to say goodbye, before running after the redhead. Darcy says something about "good luck" but you don't turn around.
//-//
You catch up with Wanda in one of the outside gardens, even from your back, you can practically feel her irritation.
"Will you please stop running?" You ask aloud, trying to catch up, and she finally stops, turning around with her arms crossed and an annoyed expression.
"What do you want?"
"Wanda, I was just talking to Darcy..."
Wanda lets out a dry laugh, her eyes glittering with irritation.
"I should have known you'd be like everyone else." She grumbles and you sigh, putting your hands in your pockets.
"Don't say that, Wanda." You say with weariness in your voice. "You know that's not true."
Wanda rolls her eyes, tears welling up in her eyes, and you refuse the urge to wipe them away, deciding that you two needed to talk.
"It doesn't matter." She retorts angrily. "We're done anyway."
"Enough." You interrupt her and she looks at you in surprise. "Enough of this whole taking a break, or breaking up for two or three days only for you to have me come back to your door and apologize for something that wasn't my fault."
"Wow, you really do remember things the way you want to."
You let out a dry laugh, taking one of your hands out of your pocket to run them through your hair nervously.
"Wanda, I'm serious." You warn her. "I'm not doing this anymore. This game where you put me on hold for when you're in the mood. I have feelings, I can't do this any longer."
Wanda gasps with incredulity.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"You know damn well what I'm talking about." You retort angrily. "I am not your toy! I love you! I'm not going to be your compensation prize for when you're bored." You shout, and Wanda blinks in surprise. "Either we're for real, or we're nothing."
"I don't..." She starts and then shakes her head, trying to pull herself together. "You know what I went through... we... I told you how hard it is to trust..."
"Wanda, enough." You interrupt her, "That's exactly what I'm saying. You always use the same excuses to make me feel guilty about demanding anything." You count and she shakes her head in denial, but you don't stop. "I know exactly what you've been through, because I listen to you. I'm not like Vision, or Tony, or any of the other assholes you went out with." You say and Wanda lowers her head. "I take care of you, I don't lie, or hide things. I talk, and I listen, and I love you the best way I can. And you push me aside. I can't do that anymore." You say feeling your own eyes fill with water. "So I need an answer now."
"What?"
"Wanda." You call out to her, but she just stares at you with her mouth open, as if she is trying to think of something to say, but nothing comes out. You feel your tears run down. "Okay. I guess I have my answer then."
Wiping your tears away, you turn around, walking away. Wanda calls out to you, but you're done.
//-//
For three weeks now, your social life has been all about fictional characters.
Your real friends called and texted you, but you left your cell phone on silent and tried not to fail your exams, while you spent all your free time in your room, whining while watching romantic movies where things worked out in the end, unlike what happened to you.
And then Carol Danvers appeared in you bedroom.
"You've got to be kidding me." She grumbled when Darcy opened the door, and she found you wrapped in a blanket, lying on the bed and staring at nothing.
"Hi, Carol." You greeted her without moving.
"Nat began to worry that you were dead." She commented sitting up in your bed, "But you were just being dramatic."
"Yes, I intend to keep it going like this." You retort pulling the blanket up over your head.
"Wow, I thought your worst was when you guys were fighting, but you really hit misery when you broke up with her." Carol said and you whined at the mention.
"Please talk about something else."
Carol rolled her eyes as she pulled on the blanket.
"We're going out." She announces as you grumble as you feel the blanket being pulled completely off.
Forty minutes later, you have showered, and put on comfortable clothes, as well as accepted the two glasses of water Carol gave you.
"Nat and her new boyfriend are meeting us at the gallery on Avenue Two." Carol tells you as she checks her cell phone. "Maria is going too, and she's bringing a friend."
You grumble in agreement and suddenly stop walking.
"Are you trying to set me up on a date?"
Carol laughs.
"I totally would, but no." She says."Monica is straight, and you're in the emotional cesspool, so I told Maria to bring someone so you wouldn't be the third wheel since we're in couples. Try to smile a little."
You roll your eyes, but don't reject that Carol has entwined her arm in yours as you walk toward the parking lots.
//-//
Meeting Monica turns out to be very nice after all.
You have many interests in common, and she is very intelligent and sarcastic, you enjoy her jokes.
Your outing with your friends brings a little cheer to you, and you find yourself laughing easily.
And then, when you are driving back to NYU, Monica mentions the boy she is talking to and you choke when you hear the name Maximoff.
"Oh my god, I can't believe you're dating Pietro!" Exclaims Carol in surprise as she drives you back. You are in the passenger seat, and Monica and Maria are in the back seat. Nat and Bruce, her boyfriend whom you met on the ride, went back to school on her motorcycle. "What a small world."
"I want to die." You grumble against the window, and Carol slaps you on the shoulder while Monica and Maria have confused expressions.
"Her girlfriend, damn, ex-girlfriend is Pietro's twin sister." Carol clarifies and the girls let out a noise of understanding. "How did you meet him, Mon?"
"I participated in the interclass program we had last semester between NYU and our university." She counted with a smile. "We talked for a few weeks, and he asked me out."
"Wow, what a coincidence." Carol says and you sigh, wishing you were back in bed.
"I had no idea Wanda had a girlfriend, Pietro didn't tell me."
You close your eyes, resting your head on the glass. Carol looked at you quickly, biting her lips, before she decided to speak.
"Yeah, well. Wanda wasn't exactly willing to make it all official..." She starts and you fight the urge to jump out of the car. "It was the reason for the breakup actually."
"Damn, I'm sorry." Monica said looking away from Carol to your reflection in the glass, but you kept your eyes closed.
Seeing the worried expression Monica cast at you, Carol added.
"Don't worry about her, honey. She likes to put on drama." Said the blonde. "She's pretending she's in a sad music video, that’s why we left the radio on."
"I hate you." You mumble to Carol and she lets out a giggle.
"I guess your invitation won't be a good idea then, Mon." Maria remarks next and Carol looks at them curiously through the rearview mirror.
"What invitation, girls?"
Monica exchanges a look with Maria before speaking.
"Pietro is on the NYU soccer team, and he asked me to watch the final game." She says. "It's pretty important, because that's where a lot of future players come out of there with contracts."
"Wow, that sounds really important." Carol comments with a smile.
"Anyway, he said it would be cool if I brought some friends along." She recounts. "He would like to meet my friends, and he would like me to meet his."
"That's awesome!" Carol exclaims happily. "Don't worry, we'll all be there cheering for Pietro."
The sentence makes you open your eyes and frown. But before you can say anything, Carol nods and repeats, "All of us."
//-//
Bad, bloody bad idea.
Fucking terrible idea.
You repeated these thoughts as you walked toward Carol, waiting for you at the entrance to the NYU soccer stadium, completely packed with students even though there were still forty minutes before the game started.
Carol was also wearing a set of jeans, and made a kind note about your outfit, but you just nodded, your thoughts elsewhere.
You met up with Maria, Nat and Bruce at the food booths, and you were glad to see your friends again after so many days.
"Ah, there's Monica coming." Said Maria with a smile waving to the girl through the crowd. The group looked on, and you swallowed dryly as Monica moved, and you noticed Pietro next to her, and then further back his group of friends, and his sister.
"I can't do this." You grumbled to Carol, and she looked at you with concern.
"Breathe." She asked softly as they approached. "You'll be fine, whatever happens just pretend she doesn't exist."
When the group reached you, you all smiled politely. You wanted to dig a hole in the ground when your gaze quickly met Wanda's, and your stomach churned, but you just waved nicely, and greeted everyone.
Soon you were all walking together to the stands. You wished you could stay the whole way with Carol, but she was chatting animatedly with Maria, and you stayed behind, avoiding walking with Wanda.
Pietro, and two of his friends, Bucky and Sam, also went to the locker room with him and the rest of the group went up to the bleacher seats.
You grumbled softly when you had to sit next to Wanda, hoping that your face wasn't too flushed. At least you were in the last chair with quick access to the corridor. To get away in case anything went wrong.
After everyone passed the food around, and you exchanged a few embarrassed glances with the redhead next to you when she passed you some soda, the game began.
It was an understatement to say that you weren't paying attention at all.
//-//
At halftime of the second half, Wanda commented that she wanted more snacks. And she could have simply asked you to excuse her, but she put her hand on your thigh instead, and you sighed in surprise and something else while you melted against your seat, and blushed profusely when she looked at you wide-eyed.
"I..." She started but you just started to get up.
"I'll buy it, I got it." You mumbled clumsily rushing to get out of there as quickly as possible.
Your legs were still shaking a little when you reached the food stalls.
Pulling your cell phone from your pocket, you typed a message to Carol that you were on the verge of emotional collapse and needed to leave. And without waiting for her to respond, you left the stadium.
//-//
NYU won the match. And Pietro got a contract to play for a famous team.
You heard about this from Maria the next day, because Carol wasn't talking to you.
She was very upset that you weren't opening up to her anymore, you knew it wasn't just because of the game.
You sent her an apology audio before the Literature class, and promised that you would be a reliable friend again.
During the lunch break, you went back to your dorm, intending to study a little.
"Hey." You greeted Darcy as you entered, she took off her headphones.
"Hey, pal." She retorted getting up and walking over to the bookshelf as you sat on the bed and threw your backpack on top of the sheet. "Your girl left some stuff for you." She warned as she picked up a book. You figured she must be studying for one of the surprise exams Professor Xavier used to pass around the class, and Darcy always remarked to you.
You blinked in surprise, and looked around. There was a small pile of things on your bed that you hadn't noticed before.
Shifting on the mattress, you began to look at the items.
You rolled your eyes at what Wanda decided to return. Some things were yours, like the NYU sweatshirt, and the cassette tapes, but there were also items that you had given her as gifts. Grabbing the bracelet you gave her for her birthday, the scarf you bought her for Christmas, and the book you got autographed by the author just for her, you left the room. Darcy didn't ask.
//-//
Wanda answered the door in confusion. You had a slightly annoyed expression.
"I can't believe you returned my gifts." You said walking into the room without waiting for her to pass. She mumbled an ironic "come in" afterwards.
You threw the items on her bed as she closed the door. You didn't notice that she locked it.
"I know we broke up, but that was cruel!" You said. "I gave those gifts to you, and you gave them back like they were nothing, I didn't..."
"I didn't give them back." She interrupted, twisting her fingers slightly, You frowned confused, "I wanted you to come talk to me."
You blink in surprise, feeling all the anger leave you at once. Shifting your weight between your feet, you cross your arms.
"What do you want, Wanda?"
"You." She confesses breathlessly and you frown in surprise, feeling your face heat up. She lets out a chuckle, running a hand through her hair. "I just... I want to apologize first." She begins. "I acted like a complete idiot, and I was so afraid of you hurting me that I did it to you first. And I'm sorry."
You looked at the floor afterwards, not knowing exactly what to say as you felt your heart racing. Wanda continued to speak.
"It's just... I swore I wasn't going to get involved with anyone after so many lies and betrayals." She said. "And then I met you. And you were sweet and kind, and so warm. And I didn't know how to handle all this love, because nobody ever treated me like that."
"Wanda..."
"No. I need to say." She interrupts with a tender smile. "You need to know that I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't mean to do that. I was just scared."
You nod in understanding, swallowing dryly.
"I know." You say. "Damn it, I know. I just... I just wanted you to understand that I will never do what they did to you."
Wanda steps forward, and you don't back down.
"I trust you." She said. "I know you won't. I want to make this work."
You sighed.
"A-are you sure?"
"You are the best thing that has happened to me since I left high school." She confesses with a shy smile. "I don't want to lose you. I want to live this, even if I'm terrified."
You smile, moving closer to Wanda to caress her cheeks.
"No need to be afraid, baby." You say gently. "I'll look after you."
Wanda smiled and hugged you by the shoulders. You sighed as you wrapped your arms around her waist.
She broke the embrace a moment later, however, bringing your mouths together in a sweet kiss.
God, you missed her lips so much.
Resting your foreheads together, you smiled and then kissed her again, more intensely this time.
Wanda sighed, then your head was spinning, and all the hard-on from spending weeks apart came back at once, and you were pushing her against the first surface you could find, a bookshelf.
She let out a mixed groan of pain and pleasure as she felt her back hit the wood, but she was back to kissing you passionately the next second.
"Did you miss me?" she whispered breathlessly against your lips, scratching the scalp of the back of your neck, you grunted, feeling her warm body.
"Did you miss me?" you retorted, trailing kisses down against her collarbone as your hands moved up the inside of her blouse.
"Yes." She confessed in a husky voice, closing her eyes tightly as you bit a sensitive spot on her neck.
"How much honey?" You asked as you reached for her breasts, squeezing the flesh through her bra and making her moan and throw her head back.
"So much, babe." She whimpered as you began to play with her nipples between your fingers. And then she nibbled on your ear, whispering breathlessly. "I played with myself only thinking of you."
You gasped, feeling a tightness under your belly. You stepped forward against Wanda, taking her in your lap, and she let out a surprised exclamation, but soon you carried her to the bed, lying on top of her only to capture your lips in an intense kiss.
Leaving your thigh between her legs, it wasn't long before Wanda began to squirm beneath you, your tongues dancing together in a slow, sensual kiss.
As your hand began to play with the buttons of Wanda's jeans, you heard the lock click and let out a mutter of dissatisfaction as you threw yourself to the side, releasing Wanda, who blinked in confusion at the sudden lack of contact and opened her mouth to complain, but shut up when her roommate entered next.
"Wanda, why did you lock the door... Wow hello" Said the girl with a mixed look of surprise and mischief.
You cleared your throat, feeling hot and bothered as you sat up.
"Sorry to crash the party girls, but there wasn't a sock in the door." Continued the girl as she placed her belongings on her own bed.
"All right, Harley." Wanda said in a husky voice, exchanging a quick glance with you.
"Besides, we have a test now Wands." The girl comments with a smile. "I imagine you forgot."
You let out a giggle as Wanda blinks in surprise with a flushed face.
"Damn right." She grumbles getting up, and straightening her crumpled clothes. You sigh, getting up as well.
Wanda exchanges a look with her colleague as she escorts you out.
"Call me when you're done, we can watch a movie." You say as you leave the room. Wanda bites her lips, denying it with her head. Before you can ask, she brings her face close to your ear and whispers:
"I can’t wait to come in your mouth."
"Fuck, Wanda." You grumble feeling your face heat up and the tightness below your stomach ache. But you do nothing, noticing Harley's curious gaze on you from inside the room, not to mention on the people around the hallway.
Wanda walks away with an innocent smile, looking at you fondly.
"I'll come to your dorm when I'm done with the test. " She says and you nod. Wanda places a short kiss on your lips and you chase after her face, feeling her smile on your lips as you kiss her firmer this time.
But it doesn't last long and you break away, smiling one last time before turning away.
You wonder what your best friend's reaction will be when you tell her you two were dating again.

Hello. I love the prompt " the commission " can we have the full story please ? How will the avengers react of the news about Hawkmoth?
The full story will come later I promise! I unleashed so many things onto myself but I have no regrets XD Though I shall share some headcanons with you guys about the AU in the mean time!
* Pepper has been a fan of MDC since she saw the designs for Penny and Jagged’s wedding attire. Her and Penny are friends and when she asked who made Penny’s dress and Jagged’s suit, Penny was all too happy to tell her and brag about Marinette and show her everything else Mari had designed for her and Jagged and others.
* When Tony officially proposed, Pepper already knew who she wanted to make her dress. She could tell Tony was hesitant to ask MDC since she wasn’t that well known yet, but they both knew he couldn’t say no to her, so it was no surprise when she caught him looking at her website and commission prices. Later she pretended not to notice him calling Penny and asking for MDC’s email. Pepper liked to let him believe he could keep anything from her, it was the thought that counted.
* Peter, Harley, MJ, and Ned are all excited for the wedding. Peter gets to be the flower boy which he is super happy about and Harley is the ring bearer.
* MJ is also a fan of MDC
* The whole “Minion” squad are Jagged Stone fans. Peter’s favorite album may or may not be Rock Giant.  👀
*The Minion Squad are all off school for summer already, Marinette just started summer since it’s the beginning days of July. While the Minion Squad plans to help plan the wedding, invent, prank the Avengers, and just have some good summer fun, Marinette plans to work on her MDC commissions since she knew she would be getting a lot. Penny had given her a heads up. Besides, there wasn’t much friends she could hang out with since Luka had told her that him, his sister, and his mom planned to sail around for the summer. Anarka wantedd to get the kids out of Paris for a while. Chloe and Sabrina would be going on vacation with Chloe’s mom to Milan for two weeks and then to New York for a month so Chloe could see her mother’s business and get a feel of it and see if it is something she would want to take over. Kagami and her mother would also be leaving Paris to visit family in Japan. The only ones she would be able to hang out with would be Alix, Nathaniel, and Marc.
* Then she gets the email from Tony. Freaking. Stark! She nearly faints! Okay. She faints. He actually wants Marinette to design and make his and Pepper Potts wedding attire!!! His email said that he would house her and her team for however long she needed for the consulting period and the beginning work of the outfits. Okay actually it said till the outfits were done but she would discuss that with him and Pepper when she got there because wedding dresses typically took 6-9 months to make. She figured she had time as he did specify they were planning a December wedding of next year, something about it being a Christmas present.
* After she talks it over with her parents, she responds to Tony that she would love to design and make his and Pepper’s wedding attire but before the discuss anything further she would like for them to video chat. Tony agrees later that day, which is more than enough time for Marinette to set up at Jagged and Penny’s house, they officially bought a house in Paris yes, along with her mother and father so they could talk everything over with Mr. Stark. When the camera connects, Tony swears he must be rebooting because he did not think that MDC was a 16 year old girl, but he adapts quickly and understands now why she wanted to discuss the arrangement more.
* Tom and Sabine are even more delighted and on board on sending Marinette to New York when Tony offers to let her stay in Stark Tower/Avengers Tower with the heroes and his Minions. Marinette of course asks if she can bring some friends, they’re not officially her team but she would feel better having them there with her. Of course Tony agrees because he could practically hear Pepper scold him if he said no and they continue to set everything up while Marinette calls up Alix, Marc and Nathaniel and ask if they want to go with her to New York to go to the Avengers Tower. It takes too long in her opinion to convince them that no. she’s not joking, and yes she is serious.
* Once they get their parents permission they plan to leave on Saturday which would be in two days. It’s a little hectic, especially because Marinette didn’t know if she should take the Miracle Box or not but in the end she decides to leave it with her mom and dad, aka the new Turtle and Fox heroes of Paris. They had found out she was Ladybug a little after she had become the Guardian because she had broken down. Everything had become too much for her and Tikki couldn’t stand to see her chosen like that so she told Tom and Sabine that their daughter was Ladybug.
* Marinette was going to take the Horse, Mouse, and of course, Ladybug Miraculous, to New York though. Her mom promised that she would text her or call her as soon as she could if they spotted or heard an akuma, and that they would fight it off until she got there.
* When Marinette and her friends get to New York and meet Tony, he can tell they’ve fought in a fight children shouldn’t have to, but he doesn’t know how to ask about it so he pushes it back till he can think of a way to approach the subject. He immediately takes a liking to Marinette, he can tell she’s smart for her age, and he just likes her energy.
* Then Tony introduces them to his Minions and Peter, Ned, and Harley all have a collective freakout because they are meeting THE MDC. MJ is, of course, happy too but she can at least keep her cool when meeting the designer who made Jagged Stone’s iconic Eiffel Tower sunglasses, the one who designed his Rock Giant album art, and the one who made his Roaring Dragon Jacket! Peter asks Marinette if she can sign his copy of the album and Tony thinks it’s all down hill from there. He can see the kid’s blush from across the room.
* The consultation happens and Pepper is just as surprised as Tony was when she learns MDC is only 16 but she hides it fairly well. Both are pleasantly surprised by Marinette’s professionalism and are pleased with the overall talk about what they want out of the design. Tony even manages to squeeze in another suit for Peter because he knows the kid and he is not letting him wear a rented tux to his wedding.
* Tony and Pepper have dinner with the kids and the Minions and it’s decided that they can stay for the summer, and no Pepper don’t look at Tony like that it’s not because he’s trying to help Peter get a date for the wedding.
* Then Marinette meets the Avengers. Thor loves her, but like who doesn’t Thor love? And who doesn’t love Thor? She is super interested in learning about Asgard, especially its fashion and she even talks Thor into giving her some fabric samples to work with. He just loves her enthusiasm and he appreciates her letting him talk about his home and his people. Marc and Nathaniel get a great picture of the two of them sitting on Thor’s flexed arms. Marc also loves to hear about Thor’s home and people and Nathaniel loves to draw him and those he talks about.
Natasha accidentally sneaks up on Marinette, she never means to do it, it is just how she is, so when this little girl turns around in a flash with a pencil held in her fist as a weapon her eyes narrowed looking for the danger, she is suprised and has to stop her own reflexes from sweeping the girls legs from under her. She respects Marinette’s reflexes and the two spar and Marinette tells her she used to do ballet when Natasha asks her why her turns and spins almost seem like she’s doing a dance and Natasha’s eyes light up. The two bond over ballet
Bucky, Clint, and Steve meet her one morning when they go to the kitchen and find so many goodies to eat and see this tiny little girl singing to herself as she pulls muffins out of the oven. She turns to them and smiles and says good morning before introducing herself so they do as well. When Steve introduces himself her eyes narrow and she hisses out, “YOU.” He’s so confused until she starts tearing into him about him hero suit. Bucky and Clint of course love this moment and will cherish it forever.
She meets Bruce and he’s heard of this little terror from Steve and he’s thinking she’s going to tear into Hulk about wearing only shorts but then she’s shaking his hand and saying it’s an honor to meet you Dr. Banner, apparently she’s read some of his papers. And Bruce can’t help but smile for the rest of the day.
When Wanda meets her she just hugs the little girl for a while because she hadn’t meant to see how her ex friends had treated her back in Paris but she did and this child needed a hug. Marinette had just been asking what material her jacket was made out of so they had touched briefly, then she was being hugged, but she didn’t mind, she figured maybe Wanda was having an off day and needed a hug.
Vision had just looked at Marinette and said, “Miraculous.” nobody knew what he meant but Marinette did and she just put a finger to her lips with her eyes wide with panic. Thankfully he got what she was trying to say and gave her a nod and small smile.
Tony said there was more people for her to meet but she would have the whole summer to do that so she was content.
* Then the first akuma alert went off when they were there in New York. Marinette thought everyone was sleeping when she created the portal and leapt through...she didn’t know how wrong she was.

Soulmate AU with Wanda Maximoff
Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch Masterlist)
Prompt by: @omgopalsapphire
Requested by: @ophelias-heart, @sananabdliw, @jadewestwriter, @xxxtwilightaxelxxx
Word Count: 3,943
You never believed in the idea of true love.
Even though you lived in a world where everyone had a different way of finding their so-called ‘soulmate’. You never understood the idea.
Everyone told you about how special it was to be able to spend eternity with someone. You were never able to grasp the idea. Most people you knew had an easy way of finding their soulmate. Either their name is written across their skin. Or a thread connected them. Or their first words to each other is on their arms.
Your way is complicated. You felt the pain of your soulmate, you never understood why.
Throughout your childhood, you never felt pain. Until one day, you got surges of pain, it felt like you were being starved for days. Ever since you would feel a random needle in your side. The pain of knocking out, electric shocks, bruises. You pitied your soulmate, you tried to be more careful so they wouldn’t have to endure more pain.
It became harder once you’d joined the Avengers. Tony saw you fly out of a burning building. You had gorgeous white wings springing out from in the middle of your shoulder blades. You often tended to keep them under wraps. Folding them and wearing larger clothes. SHIELD helped you develop the ability to shrink their size so they were barely visible.
Every time you got injured, you murmured a silent apology to your soulmate for adding to their pain. Little did you know, Wanda apologized every night for the pain she put you through every single day.
After Ultron had manipulated the minds of the entire team, you’d gone with them to Clint’s safe house. A plan had developed. You went with Fury and Maria to get the helicarrier after everyone had been saved. You heard someone had been  left behind, a girl in a red leather jacket.
You instantly flew out of the helicarrier and towards the city. Vision gave you her location, unable to get to her since he was dealing with Ultron. You eventually found her, you quickly down to get her. Wordlessly, you picked her up and flew out of there. The girl wrapped her arms around your neck to keep herself from falling, but she couldn’t help staring.
You looked stunning. You wore a black body con suit, your face smeared with dirt but she could still see your eyes sparkling. What caught her eye was your wings, they were huge and beautiful, almost angelic.
After you set her down and verified she was okay, you introduced yourself. Wanda was a little hesitant to introduce herself since she saw the Avengers symbol stitched onto your suit. But you didn’t seem to notice her hesitation, instead offering to walk her inside.
You talked about the helicarrier while you walked. Gesturing to the planes and everyone else at the flight deck. You noticed Wanda staring at your wings and you flapped them a bit, startling her. You laughed at her stunned reaction.
“How did you get them?” Wanda asked, completely awestruck by them.
“Well, they were a sort of a mutation. I accidentally got caught up in a science room where they had a serum for growing wings. They decided to make me their new test subject, and the serum worked,” You pursed your lips at the memory. “But they injected me with the serum on accident,”
“I’m sorry,” Wanda apologized, wincing when she saw the hard expression on your face.
“It’s fine now,” You waved it off casually, “It turned out well for me anyway,”
Wanda opened her mouth to say something when something silver rushed over and pulled her in for a hug. You instantly went into a defensive posture. Flaring your wings and raising your fists. Your eyes widened when you realized it was just a person.
“Woah,” The blonde man gasped, Wanda laughed and pulled away from him.
You frowned at the interaction, still in a defensive pose.
“Calm down angel,” Pietro flirted. You rolled your eyes and pulled your wings back in after noticing his staring.
“This is Pietro, my twin,” Wanda introduced, she gestured to you. “This is y/n,”
“Great to meet you,” Pietro smirked, offering you his hand.
You raised an eyebrow at him and swatted his hand away with your wing. They laughed and waved you a quick goodbye before heading off to where Steve was calling them.
The next few weeks were interesting, to say the least. You felt drawn to Wanda, you weren’t sure why you constantly found yourself trying to spend more time with her. Eventually, both of you became close friends, which surprised the entire team.
Somehow, neither of you noticed that you were each other’s soulmate. Since both of you were off of missions for almost a month, you were only attending training. You didn’t notice that the bruises on your arms from training were also on Wanda’s arms. The redhead seemed not to notice your matching injuries either.
You weren’t the most open person, but you seemed to open up to Wanda about almost everything rather quickly. The witch found herself trusting you more and more as days went by. Both of you confused about why you felt drawn to each other.
“What are you thinking about?” Wanda asked, flopping down on the couch next to you, you shrugged and turned to face her.
The redhead wore grey leggings, a scarlet t-shirt, and a dark grey cardigan. Her arms wrapped loosely around her midsection as she sat down next to you, looking at you curiously.
“Just how we first met,” You answered casually, fidgeting with your sweatshirt.
“And Pietro called you ‘angel’?” Wanda jokes, you giggled and looked up to face her.
“He’s not the first person to come up with that,” You stated, the redhead raised an eyebrow.
“When you have white wings, everyone tends to think that. Especially the people who are almost unconscious.” You shrugged.
Wanda laughed at the idea of someone dying then thinking you were an angel coming to redeem them. You found yourself entranced by her laughter, you blinked to try to stop staring.
“When we first met, I-” FRIDAY cut her off and told them they were required for a mission briefing.
Wanda sighed and got up, holding out a hand for you to take. She was going to tell you that she thought you were an angel when you first met. You took it and let her pull you up, realizing she didn’t finish her sentence.
“You didn’t finish,” You commented, Wanda, shrugged.
You noticed that Wanda still held onto your hand. You chose not to tell her, instead slowly moving to intertwine your fingers with hers. The redhead blushed at the action but squeezed your hand gently on the way to the briefing room.
It confused both of you when the squeeze seemed to resonate more than it should have.
-----------
The mission was fairly simple, it was to take down an arm’s dealer’s base a few miles north of rural New York. The team consisted of you, Wanda and Rhodey. You were to fly over and make sure nothing was wrong .Rhodey was to fly the jet and stand by as backup. You were to fly over the base and act as a bomber since you were undetectable by most radars. Wanda could use her magic to manipulate them into surrendering or blowing the entire place to bits.
Nothing you hadn’t done a thousand times before. But this time, your crush was on the mission.
-----------
“Nice suit,” You glanced at Wanda, she blushed. The redhead wore a black leather jacket, a simple, body con top underneath it, a simple black skirt, and knee-high boots.
“Not so bad yourself,” Wanda commented, stealing a glance at you.
You wore your usual body-con armor, it was simple and sleek, completely black, except for the thin lines of gold adorning it to give it a nice touch. You could’ve picked a white suit, but after you got called angel too many times, you settled for the black one.
“There was a white one too, I liked this one better,” You answered, tucking a few knives into the thigh holsters and putting a gun into your belt.
“Too angelic?” Wanda jokes, moving closer to you and leaning her back against the wall in front of you.
Your breath hitched at how close she was, you nodded and retrieved one last knife. Trying not to focus on the way Wanda was looking at you.
“If you’re done,” Rhodey gestured to both of you. “I’d like to get this mission over with”
Your eyes widened, you clenched your jaw and nodded, walking away from Wanda towards the bay doors. The redhead walked up next to you. She reached for your hand and gently intertwined your fingers together. You released a breath you didn’t know you had been holding, you smiled reassuringly at her.
Rhodey told you that you needed to take off, you winked at the witch and let go of her hand, free-falling while facing her. You extended your wings, grinning as you stretched them. Wanda had a passing thought that you were beautiful, she shut it down before it could interfere with her capabilities.
You flew through the sky with ease, closing your eyes as the wind running through your hair and every part of you. You extended your wings as far as they would reach, finally feeling free. You took in a deep breath and started throwing the bombs for the mission, a small smile on your face from the euphoria of flying.
But she couldn’t help but stare as you flew over the building, throwing bombs through the roof. Wanda went inside, easily knocking out whoever came at her. Rhodey shouted a warning to you on the comms about their advanced radar. Wanda headed outside once she got all their info on a flash drive.
You were still flying over the base, but you were trying to evade their bullets. You had been succeeding so far, Wanda looked on intently. You easily dodged them and took out the gun, but you didn’t notice one of their men on the roof with a gun.
The gunshots resonated through the air, Wanda covered her face with a mouth at the sight. The bullet hit one of your wings. You fell, blood staining your white wings as you tried to regain balance. The wind flapped past your face, you could barely see as you tumbled through the air.
Wanda felt pain pulse in the middle of her shoulder blades, she gasped and touched where it hurt.
It was the same spot where you had wings. She could feel your pain.
Wanda sprinted to where she assumed you were going to crash.
You gritted your teeth against the pain in your wings, trying to regain your balance using one wing. You narrowed your eyes as you extended your left-wing all the way to try to regain your balance. You thought it was working when you started to stabilize.
But it was Wanda using her powers to save you. Once you were safely on the ground, she ignored the pain pulsing through her back and knocked out the man who shot you. She ran over to you, turning you over so she could see your back properly.
You groaned as she did so, the pain worsening. Wanda felt it get worse, she felt the headache, your spiking heart rate, the pain in your wings. She tried to use her powers to ease the pain, she felt it lessen and she knew it was helping.
“You’re going to be okay,” She assured, you tried to nod in response. You turned your head to face her, frowning when you saw her clenched jaw and gritted teeth.
“, what’s wrong?” You murmured, reaching out your good hand to brush your fingers against her cheek.
“I feel your pain,” Wanda whispered, holding your hand against her cheek tightly. “Don’t leave me.”
Your eyes widened at her words, she was your soulmate. She was the person you’d been searching for your entire life. You needed to stay for her.
You gritted your teeth against the pain and forced yourself to get up. Wanda understood what you were trying to do and supported your weight with one hand. Your injured wing dropped behind you as you made your way inside.
“What the hell happened?” Rhodey demanded, helping you inside.
Wanda answered for you as you laid face down on the gurney, blood still seeping from your wound. The pain started to fade once Rhodey gave you an anesthetic. Wanda breathed a sigh of relief and held your hand. You turned your face to look at her, watching her.
The redhead’s heart broke at the sight of you. Your white wings stained with your blood, both of them dropped at your side. Your entire suite was dirt and blood stained.
You looked like a fallen angel.
Wanda pulled your hand closer to her lips, she kissed your knuckles softly. She used some of her magic to try to ease the pain. Thankfully, it helped ease the pain. Rhodey eventually stopped the bleeding and started flying you back to the compound.
You never tore your eyes off of Wanda the entire time, you were still shocked that you found your soulmate. You hadn’t taken the opportunity to admire her before, she was gorgeous. Her soft emerald eyes flicked to yours as you stared, her auburn hair rested on her shoulders, she was gorgeous.
“Why are you staring at me, angel?” Wanda asked softly, surprised at how easily the nickname slipped in.
You smiled at her.
“You,” You answered, taking in a deep breath. “You’re the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.”
“You’re not disappointed?” Wanda asked, insecurity seeping into her tone. Her other arm went to hug her midsection as she hunched over.
“Why would I be?” You asked, brow furrowing. Wanda’s green eyes avoided your gaze.
“I'm a monster, you deserve better.” Wanda murmured. You frowned and used your good wing to gently tilt her face upwards to look at you.
“You’re all I ever want in someone,” You whispered. You took your wing away from her face, scared it was making her uncomfortable.
Wanda almost cried at your words, she moved to sit closer to you. You smiled softly at her, stroking her knuckles with your thumb. You noticed her staring at your wing, you gently moved it closer to her.
“Can I?” She asked, hand hovering over your wing. You nodded and moved it closer to her hand.
Wanda’s fingers glide delicately over your wing, stroking the feathers gently. She was in awe of how beautiful they were. She couldn’t stop running her warm fingers through the soft feathers.
You giggled at the sensation, no one had bothered to touch your wings in fear of making you uncomfortable. Wanda noticed and gently ran her fingers along them, soothing you with her touch and her magic until you arrived at the compound.
After transferring you to the medical wing, she couldn’t see you. She sat in the waiting room outside after washing your blood off of her hands. The rest of the team waited to hear how the operation went. Scared that you might lose your flight, they knew it was something that meant the most to you.
The doctor came outside after the operation was over. After whispering some things to Tony, he told the rest of them your condition.
“We’ve never operated on wings before, but the bullet hit a lot of the tissue around her wings. It also grazed the bone. Thanks to the cradle, we were able to regenerate the bone tissue” The entire team breathed a sigh of relief. “But we didn’t know how to regenerate the muscle, so she won’t be able to fly for a few weeks, but she would be fine eventually.”
“Can we see her?” Steve asked the doctor nodded.
“She is unconscious right now, but we think she should be awake in a few hours.”
They nodded and asked FRIDAY to notify them when you were awake. Tony and Natasha sat in your room alongside Wanda, waiting for you to wake up.
You were laying on the bed, face down, your wings by your sides. Your left-wing bandaged with a few blood stains on it.
Tony was eventually forced to leave by Pepper on account of the press. But Natasha stayed and talked to Wanda about you. Eventually, Wanda told you that she was your soulmate.
Natasha’s eyes widened in shock, Wanda felt her heart constrict in fear. She knew that Natasha was like family to you, and her disapproval could mean the end of everything.
“I’m happy she finally found the person she had been searching for all these years,” Natasha smiled softly at her.
“You, you aren’t angry?” Wanda asked, confused.
“Why would I be? The entire team was making bets on when you’d finally start dating.” She gestured to both of you. “Anyone could see from a mile away you are made for each other.”
Natasha took Wanda’s hand and squeezed softly, smiling at her. She told Wanda about how you’d apologize for getting injured every single time because you were terrified of adding to her pain. Wanda laughed, her heart swooned at how caring you were. Before she could say anything, you stirred.
“Look who is finally awake,” Natasha commented. You turned around groggily to face them, cautious of your injury.
“I’m okay thanks for asking,” You retorted sleepily. They laughed at your comment. Natasha got up and leaned over your ear.
“You’ve got a good one angel, don’t you dare let her go,” She whispered, pulling away and winking at you.
“I won’t,” You laughed, Natasha nodded and left the both of you alone. Wanda looked in confusion from you to Natasha but decided not to push it when you turned to look at her.
“So, what’s the result?” You asked Wanda, she chuckled at your joke and leaned forwards on her elbows.
“You would be able to fly again,” Wanda stated, reaching for your hand and squeezing it as you smiled. “But it might take a few weeks for it to heal completely.”
You breathed a sigh of relief which surprised Wanda. Confusion written across her face, you weren’t going to be able to fly for a few weeks, why were you happy?
“Don’t look confused, I’ll be able to fly again eventually, it’s not all bad.” You laughed at her expression, fingers stroking her knuckles.
“Can I ask you something?” Wanda asked you nodded.
“Why do you like flying? I tried it a few times with my powers but it scares me.”
You considered the question, giving it some thought before answering.
“At first, it was scary, like most things in life. But after you start it, it’s amazing. It feels like freedom, it feels like no one can control you and you can do whatever you want. It’s almost euphoric,” You answered, eyes momentarily closing as you imagined it.
Wanda let your words soak in, she never got past the fear of flying or using her powers.
“I know you’re scared of your powers,” You stroked her knuckles to pull her out of her thoughts. “, but if you trust yourself, you might find something you like
“How do you know exactly what to say,” Wanda laughed, leaning back against the chair. You giggled.
“It’s a gift,” You winked.
A comfortable silence settled into the room. You continued to mindlessly stroke over her knuckles, deep in thought. Wanda stared at your joined hands before her gaze settled on your face and your wings. You were beautiful.
“Can I kiss you?” She blurted, eyes widening at what she said. Wanda tried to get up and apologize, but you chuckled and pulled her back down with your hand.
“I’m sorry, that was-”
“Yes, you can kiss me,” You cut her off with a soft smile on your face.
Wanda smiled softly at you, she leaned forwards in her chair slowly. She watched your features for any hints of hesitation. Instead, your eyes fluttered shut when you felt her breath fan across your face. She gently touched her lips to yours, melting into you instantly.
You subtly tugged her closer using your joined hands. Wanda sighed into your mouth as butterflies erupted in her stomach. Her free hand gently settled on your wing, slowly sliding up your wing and to the back of your neck. She drew gentle patterns on the back of your neck, making you break the kiss with a soft gasp.
“Wow,” You breathed, eyes fluttering open to look at Wanda, whose eyes were still closed. You smiled and kissed the tip of her nose, her eyes fluttered open at the contact.
“I think I found that feeling you were talking about,” Wanda whispered, smiling softly at you as she searched for the word.
“Euphoria?” You offered, she nodded and leaned in again.
You smiled into the kiss, wishing you could stay there forever.

10 years later
“Alright kiddo, time to head off to bed,” You easily lifted your daughter in your arms.
The brunette protested, you laughed and started tickling her. Thanks to Tony, you were able to give birth to your and Wanda’s child. She looked like you but had Wanda’s eyes and hair.
Wanda laughed from the couch as she saw you tickle your daughter. She tried to squirm away from your grasp, eventually succeeding. Your eyes widened when you saw she was about to fall, but Wanda used her magic to keep her upright.
“Thank you, mama!” Your daughter thanked Wanda.
“Of course moya Lyubov,” Wanda grinned, scooping daughter/name up in her arms.
“Can we fly?” She asked you and Wanda glanced at each other with a grin.
“Last time before bed, okay?” You said she nodded eagerly. You bent over so you faced the ground, you extended your wings a little.
Wanda gently set her down on your back in the middle of your wings. Your daughter held on tightly to each wing as you sprinted into her room, making whooshing noises as you did so. Your wife laughed at your antics to try to put your daughter to bed.
“Careful angel,” She shouted as both of you went into her bedroom. The redhead smiled to herself and followed you in.
Eventually, you tucked her into bed and placed a kiss on her forehead as Wanda sat down on the opposite side of the bed. It was usually her job to tell her a story to fall asleep to.
“So, what’s the story for tonight?” She asked, gesturing to the large bookshelf in the corner of the room filled with storybooks.
“Tell me a different story,” Your daughter answered. You brushed the hair out of her face gently and glanced at Wanda who was as confused as you.
“About who?” Wanda asked, sitting down so she could see you and your daughter.
“About you and mommy!” She grinned, looking hopefully towards you and your wife.
“Should we tell her the story of how we met?” You asked, turning to face Wanda.
“Why not angel?” Wanda joked you laughed.
Your daughter squealed in excitement. You laughed and moved so you were lying down next to her. Your daughter’s weight supported on one wing as your other wing covered Wanda. You smiled as you watched Wanda weave together your story, the story of your family. You felt like you were flying, like euphoria.

Less Than I Do
Modern AU
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Warnings: not really, some curses word? lol
Summary: After some time passes, you can’t shake your feelings for her. Even after going some time without speaking, you only want her to be happy in the end.
Words: 3.5k+
Tumblr media
“What?!” You yell, your phone pressed to onto your ear, shoulder shrugged to support it, listening to your friend jabber on “I can’t really hear you!” The jingling of your keys and the booming music in the apartment next to yours drowning out their voice.
“I-“ you sigh, struggling to hold your grocery bags–only frustrating you further– while you twist your wrist, finally unlocking the door to your apartment, shoving it open with your foot.
Groaning, you drop the bags at your feet, closing the door behind you while your other hand takes hold of phone, finally letting your shoulder rest.
“Look, can you just– just text me, ok?” You sigh, slipping your shoes off as you mumble a bye.
The vibration from your phone catches your attention. Unlocking your phone, you click on the Instagram notification. A picture fills the screen, showing a group of college friends, your friends.
And there you stood, arms wrapped around her, the biggest smile on your faces. Her doll like eyes shining brighter than usual from the flash of the camera. It seemed like yesterday the two of you were in her apartment, seated on the couch under a blanket. Her body pressed into your side with popcorn in between the two of you, Mission Impossible playing.
Letting out a breath, your thumb hovers over the picture.
You could say you were questioning on whether or not it was worth liking.
Fuck it.
You double tap, a red heart briefly appearing.
The others tagged in the photo popping up along with it, including her.
Clicking on her username, your screen becomes filled with pictures of her. Plentiful of new ones, though that was to be expected considering the last time you looked through it was almost two years ago.
Two years.
It had been almost two years since she ended things with you.
“Can you-” You groan, shrugging Wanda’s hand from your shoulder.
A look of confusion fill her features “Can I what?”
“I don’t know- just, go do something with Nat.” You gesture towards the redhead sitting with Steve.
Her brows crease in, eyes roaming over you “What’s wrong, love?” Concern written in her eyes. She’d noticed in the last few weeks how pent up you’d been. All the emotions you were bottling up. All the offers to vent to her you had turned down recently. Everyone had noticed.
“Hey..” She soothes “Is there something you wanna talk about?” She asks, hands coming to cup your jaw.
You retract harshly “Holy shit, Wanda, No. No! I don’t, alright? Can you for once, for once” You yell “stop being so overbearing!?
Caring
“Do you to want talk about this, do you wanna do that?” You mock her “God, you can be so needy!”
Loving
“A-And you never once, think that maybe- just maybe I don’t wanna’ sit down and talk about my day? Or shitty my life can be compared to yours?” Your shouts now drawing in some attention, including your closet friends.
“So fucking selfish.” you hiss through your teeth.
Selfless
You don’t even noticing the hurt in her eyes. The way their glistening up the bar lights. How her jaw is so tense, enough to crack her teeth. You’ re too indulged in your anger to.
“You can be damn overly sensitive, you know that?” you finish, slamming your glass down against the bar counter with a huff.
It’s partially silent for a bit, some chitter chatter here and there.
Wanda swallows, eyes shifting to anyone but you.
Only able to nod, turning swiftly on her heel as tears begin to flow. Natasha hot on her tail, shooting you a glare just as she passes you.
And takes a moment for the situation to hit you. For what you’ve said, to hit you.
_“Shit.” _
The side of your hand collides with the door, fingers bunched into your palm, the bangs filling the building hallways. You were sure by now the neighbors were more than upset with the amount of noise you were making. Knocking for five minutes straight at two in the morning—despite it being a friday night and most of them being out, that didn’t mean the ones still home and in bed weren’t being disturbed.
“Wanda..” another knock on her door “Can we talk? Please?” You call out, desperation evident in your tone.
You’d messed up, that you knew.
The current event all caused by words; hurtful words, that should have never slipped through. And you regretted them the moment they spewed from your mouth.
Selfish, overbearing, overly sensitive, needy.
Those were some of the words you used to hurt her tonight. But you didn’t mean them. Yes, she may have said a few hurtful things back, it was all in retaliation to yours.
If anything all of this was a build up. A build up of frustrations, work, family, and plenty of other separate events out of your relationship. And holding all of it in just led to an outburst. One taken out on her.
Surely if the two of you hadn’t gone out tonight with your group of friends, just maybe, your words could have been said in a way that was, well, less insulting. It would have been nice to properly vent to her. You know she loves to listen to you babble. No matter the topic.
Yet, here you were. Still banging on her door. Wanting more than anything just to talk. Though, you couldn’t say the same for her.
Just as you hand comes to connect with door again, it shoots open. A glaring Wanda now replacing it, Nat lingering a few feet behind her. Your breathe hitches, mouth drying as you struggle to find your words.
“Wan-”
“If you really thought about me that way, you could have told me a long time ago.”
“Wanda, I’m so, so sorr-”
“Go home, Y/N” She sighs, closing the door.
Forehead coming to rest against the door, you mumble
“You’re the only way I’ll have it..”
“You know, Pietro’s extremely upset with you still.”
Silence, only the chatter and sound of utensils answer the blonde back.
“She misses you, you know?” Steve hums, stirring his coffee, blowing at the steam emitting from it.
Snorting, eyes on the table, you sip from the plastic cup in front of you, fiddling with the napkin underneath it.
She misses you.
Wanda misses you.
So believable, yet, so hard to believe.
“I doubt it, I’m sure she’s doing fine.” You mumble.
_Idiot. _
You know damn well how sensitive Wanda can be.
“If crying yourself to sleep almost every night is ‘fine’ then she must be doing great.” Steve frowns, throwing his crumbled up sugar packet at you. Cocking a brow, you flick the piece of paper, watching it fall to the ground. “It’s been- what four months?” He asks.
Five and a half, but he was close enough.
A broad hand grips your cup, pulling it away from you, the end of the straw retracting from the cup, bits of the liquid dripping onto the table. Taking the straw out from your mouth, your eyes finally meet his blue ones. A look of disappointment plastered on his features.
“I don’t know what you want me to do, she broke up with me..” you shrug, punching the straw back through the lid.
“I thought you two were taking a break?”
Shaking your head, you ease your drink back towards yourself “She called it quits last month..”
A groan leaves his lips, palms running down his face “So, that’s it?” He starts “Ten years of friendship and four years of dating- just gone, down the drain..” his index finger landing on the table.
“I mean, you guys were in love with each other.” he huffs, slumping back in his seat “You still are in love with each other.
Steve had a point.
You and Wanda had crossed paths the first day of senior year in highschool, hitting it off right then and there. And that same day she had introduced you her brother and best friends. From then on, everyone had been inseparable. The two of you were inseparable.
It was something you wouldn’t trade for the world.
Even when most of you had attended different colleges and universities. Even when you and Wanda had started dating your senior year of college. When careers began to advance, when lives became busier.
Somehow, someway, nothing changed.
Your love for one another was unwavering.
However, after that night, five months ago you broke the balance.
“I think you should talk to her, Y/N. It possible things could be different this time.”
“Yeah..” you murmur, lips wrapping around the top of the straw.
Things could change.
But, you couldn’t shake the feeling that you’d need to change this time.
A year had passed.
A painfully slow year at that. And your feelings for Wanda hadn’t died out.
But you’d heard she had slowly been grown out of her funk, taking the time to go out more. Some of these outings you weren’t invited to and the ones you were, you declined.
Not that you were avoiding her. It was more like avoiding further heartache.
If anything you missed her and the pictures in your apartment weren’t helping. So, you took upon yourself to do some spring cleaning, in hopes that if the pictures were out of sight then the process of healing would officially start.
Rummaging through your closest, looking for a shoe box, the sight of a light denim jacket in the corner on the floor catching your attention.
It couldn’t have been yours, yours was already hung up, not to mention slightly darker in color.
Reaching for it, you pick it up, holding it out in front of you, examining the front. Walking over to your bed, you flip it over laying it on its front.
Your gaze softens, the corner of your lip perking. You hadn’t seen this jacket in a while. That design in a while. A chuckle emits from your throat, hand swiping at pieces of lint—you should probably wash it.
It’s Wanda’s favorite jacket. At least, you think it still is.
You can only imagine the pout on her lips, remembering that she must have forgotten it at your place and how she was properly too stubborn to reach out to you to get it back.
Or, maybe she didn’t care about it after a while.
Smile fading, you swipe through your phone, opening your Instagram dm’s, opening hers—glad your old conversation was long gone.
Thumbs moving across the screen, pass hitting letters.
Send.
“I still have your denim jacket, the one with the Madonna graphic on the back.”
That was the last message you sent. The last message she actually read in almost a year and a half. All the others from previous dm’s had been ignored.
Unfortunately, she never came to pick it up. But, Natasha did.
“You know she was sitting on my couch, pouting, when she realized she forgot her jacket here when she came to get some of her things?” The redhead snickers.
Figures.
“Yeah, that sounds like her.” You smirk.
Inhaling, you slowly hand the jacket over to Natasha, thumbs grazing over the Madonna graphic “She didn’t wanna come and pick it up herself?” You ask, brows creasing in.
“She has work, so..” Natasha shrugs, placing the jacket over her forearm.
Humming, eyes still on the jacket, you nod “Right, yeah- no..work.”
The redhead rolls her eyes, arms slumping to her side “Y/N, come on. You two already agreed to be friends, you both talk every now and then in the group chat. What’s the problem?” She sighs “It’s different, going out without you..”
“You haven’t shown up to any of Tony’s parties. You don’t even want to go bowling with all of us anymore.” She continues.
“Why are you avoiding us?”
Silence, that’s all fills the apartment.
Not knowing what to say, how to explain yourself; you shrug. You had no reason to avoid them.
Of course, you wanted to hang out with all of them. You wanted nothing more.
You two had mutually agreed to be close friends again. Yet, you still were struggling.
“You guys were her friends first..her family first, so.” Clearing your throat, you look up, catching Natasha’s eyes.
Their soft, as if she’s in deep thought.
“We miss you, Y/N.”
“Wanda misses you.”
Translation ;
She’s still in love with you
Still looking through the mounds of new photos, you catch site of her next to a taller, slightly older, blond man.
And you can’t help the feeling that overlaps your heart, as if someone tied a rope around it with an anchor attached, letting it sink.
Exhaling, you move to her dm’s.
Previous messages you sent filling the screen.
‘I said some things I wish I hadn’t, I’m so sorry.” seen
‘Can we please talk about it?’ seen
‘I’ll change this time.’ seen
‘I hope you feel blue, less than I do.’
Seen.
That was a couple months ago, after a night out with Tony and Pepper, including just enough drinks to get you tipsy and in your feelings. Feelings you’d restricted for too long.
It was stupid. An in the moment decision.
Cringing, you go to swipe out of the chat.
“…”
She’s typing.
_Why the hell is she tying? Why now? _
Is she going to tell you to ‘fuck off’?
Or did she mistakenly open your dm’s, thinking it was someone else’s?
A message pops up.
“Are you coming to movie night at Tony’s?”
The creases in your forehead deepened, your head tilting to the side “Movie night?”
And it hits you.
You completely forgot you promised to show up for once.
And Tony hadn’t stopped inviting you to movie night, none of them had. But you couldn’t bring yourself to go, even if she hadn’t always shown up.
Only after Tony’s constant texts, emails and calls, but who really got you to agree was Pepper.
You could never say no to Pepper
“Oh shit-” You grumble, running into your room “Movie night!”
Stepping into his home after all these months, it was nauseating to be frank. It was you like a truck. The exterior hasn’t changed but the interior had somewhat.
You let her guide you into the living room.
“Come on, everyone’s waiting for you.” Pepper smiles, looping her arm around your shoulder as she pulls you into her side, her other hand rubbing soothing circles against the shoulder closest to her body.
There’s a pregnancy in the room. Heads turn. All eyes now on you, and you can’t help but notice how their faces light up—damn, did you miss the way they’d smile when they looked at you.
A body rushes into, arms wrapping around your mid as they pick you up, arms tightening. The scent of their cologne hitting you.
Woody with kicks of spice.
Pietro.
You hear chuckles, mainly Pietro’s. His laughter reminding you of a toddlers first time going down a slide.
Enveloping your arms around him, you pat his back, a chuckle growing in your chest.
You feel a vibration against your shoulder as he sets you down, arms still tightly wrapped around you “What?” You ask, retracting your head “I said-“ he lifts his head from your shoulder, arms loosening as he takes a step back, “I’m still mad at you.” Arms coming to fold over his chest, a stern look on his face.
You can’t help but smile. You were never able to take him seriously half of the time.
Your palm connecting with his forehead, shoving it back “Missed you too.” You hum.
He holding back a smile, the ends of his lips tucked in “Me too.” He grumbles, arm wrapping around your shoulders, moving you towards the rest.
“I’m still very, very upset with you too.” Sam snickers, a smile plastered on his face as he stands up, pulling you into a warm hug, the others coming to join in.
Tony clasps his hands together “Alright, enough all of the sappy-sappy stuff.” He says “Y/N, since you’re late, you can help make the snacks with Wanda.”
“Fair enough.” You sigh, looking over towards the kitchen, catching site of her figure leaning against the counter, a tall, older blonde man close by.
Her mint green eyes softening at the sight of you, a small smile forming.
“You know how to use a popcorn maker, right?” He asks, brow cocked.
“I- Sure?”
You watch idly watch as the popcorn gradually flies out of the metal tin. One pop at a time.
The sound of hard candy being poured into a bowl pulling you from your thoughts. Turning around, you see Wanda retracting the bag, placing it back on the counter.
“So..” you begin, walking towards the kitchen isle “How’s everything?” Taking a seat on the stool.
Wanda hums, a grin growing “You mean how I’m doing?” Popping a skittle in her, she leans forward, finally looking at you “Really good. I started yoga classes a few days ago and works great, for once.” She giggles.
You chuckle softly, a warmth growing in your chest at the sound of her laughter. Content that even though things hadn’t ended well between you two, your dynamic hadn’t faltered. That she still feels comfortable around you. But, you two were close friends before anything else, it was only to be expected.
“What about you?”
“I got a new job, finally. Don’t have to work in drama filled work place anymore.” You voice, cracking a smile “Also, the pay is ten times better.” nodding your vision falls to the colorful candy. That place was always a hell hole.
“What? Are you serious?!” A voice squeals
You feel arms wrap around your shoulders, pulling you close “That’s amazing, Y/N.” Wanda hums. Your arms instinctively wrapping around her mid.
She pulls away slowly “I’m so happy for you.” She coos “Thank you, I’m just glad to be out of there. No more stress- well, excuse, extra stress, no more being pulled into drama. It’s fantastic.” A look of bliss setting in.
“I know, I can only imagine.” She snickers, pulling out the stool next to you before sliding the bowl of candy.
The two of you idly watch your friends, taking in their presence as a whole.
“I’m sorry, about what happened, Wanda. I didn’t mean anything I said that night. I was a complete and utter asshole-” You pause “I’m really, really sorry..”
“I know, considering the long apology you sent me and the mountains of texts.” She says, cocking a brow at you ‘I know, Y/N, If you couldn’t tell, I forgive you.” she assures you, her palm coming to rest on your forearm. You nod, a small smile forming.
“So” you drag “are you and-“
“No.” She cuts you off “We’re friends..” she notes “Are you and-“
A wave a relief seemingly washes over you. Not that you wouldn’t be happy if she had already moved, but, content that she hadn’t as so much jumped to the next person. Knowing that all those years spent together weren’t tossed in the trash.
“Carol?” You interrupt, snorting “No, she’s taken.”
Wanda hums, continuing to munch on the candy. Exhaling, you stand up “Alright, let’s get these snacks rolling.”
The sound of car tires screeching, bangs and explosions blast through the surround sound speaker. Everyone’s gathered on the couches, couples squeezed together, sharing snacks with another.
Leaning against the armrest of the couch, hand reaching into a shared bowl of popcorn resting on your lap.
You feel Wanda shift next to you. The temptation to curl into something getting the best of her, especially sitting next to you. Someone. She’d always been a cuddler when it came to movies. Usually it was and you could tell she was opting into using Pietro as a pillow.
“Fuck it.” you grumble.
Moving the popcorn to the side, you hook your hands under her knees, laying them over your lap. Pulling her body into yours, arm coming to hook around her shoulders out of habit.
You can feel her tense up, shifting slightly as she adjusts her upper body. Placing the bowl of popcorn onto her lap.
Wanda leans her head on your shoulder, creating a new nesting spot in your side “Thanks..” she whispers, going back to enjoy the action movie,
The brunette clears her throat after a beat “Can I ask you something?”
“Always”
“Did you mean what you said? You know, about me feeling blue..” she asks, snorting a bit as weird the question sounded.
“Of course.”
The last you wanted when it came to Wanda was to see her suffer. Physically or mentally. You had always hoped she was able to see that, dating or not.
Another beat.
“Been a while since we watched Mission Impossible together.” she adds.
“You mean, like this?”
“Yeah..like this..”
“Yeah” You breathe “too long..” ends of your lips curling.
If there was one thing you knew, it was You/d trade feeling blue over never seeing her crack a smile ever again, in a split second. Even if that meant in the end, you’d receive all the hardships, heartaches, bear her burdens.
In the end, you only hope she feels blue, less than you do.

Ever since you were a young girl, Pepper had taught you about keeping your purity and innocence. You had been the product of a unplanned pregnancy after your mother and father had sex. Now your father wasn’t around anymore and Aunt May felt horrible and took you in as her own. She told June that you dad was a military man. A military man who obviously couldn’t be around to be a dad. But alas, every year a man in a uniform would come to the house and speak with Pepper and May. A dark skinned military man who you painted to be your father in your head. You knew him as the name on his uniform , Col. J, Rhodes. You always watched from the window as he spoke with Pepper and May, never speaking or interacting, always just watching him walk to the house and walk away again. You grew up thinking that he never wanted to see or speak to you, that he regretted having you as a daughter.
Pepper had drilled it into you mind since you got your period. Keep yourself pure, do not damage that sweet white flower that you was blessed with. Sweetly, meaning don’t do the bullshit that your father did if he can’t handle being a father.
-
“Look at the flower, June.” Pepper stood in front of 11 year old you, who looked up at her with a small flower in your tiny palm.
“Pep, is this necessary?” May asked from where she sat on the bed, watching them.
“Shush, how else is she going to learn?” Pepper dismisses May, who rolls her eyes.
“Yeah, shush May.” You glared at the woman before looking up at Pepper.
“See the flower, so pretty and un-withered?” Pepper asked.
You looked down at the flower in you hand. You notices it’s small delicacy and pure white petals.
“Now scrunch it up in your fist.” Pepper told you.
You looked up at Pepper shocked. Your eyebrows frowned in confusion by Pepper only raised her brow and nodded.
You glanced at May with concern before looking back down at the flower, scrunching it in your hand with all your might. You squeezed its petals in your hand before releasing it, the flower falling back into place, all bunched up and brown at the tips.
“You see it crumple? Does it still look new?” Pepper asked the girl.
You shook your head. “No.”
“That’s what happens when you lose your virginity.
If you’re not careful, you will crumple and be like that flower.”
-
That idea scared you to death. You couldn’t imagine falling pregnant and not being able to look after the baby. You could barely look after yourself. The image of the white flower of purity crumpling brown flooded your mind every time you made out with someone. And now, was no different.
Steve hovered above you on your bed. Lips connected and his legs between yours. Your lips moved in sync as Steve’s hands ran up and down your waist, feeling over your clothed skin and practically begging for more. You hum in his mouth at his touch and Steve moves his kisses across your jaw and down your neck.
You wrap your arm around his neck, feeling his lips against your skin.
“We should...” You trail off at his movements.
“I know.” He mumbles against your skin.
You moaned as he pushing his hips against yours. You feel your body run hot against his. You open your eyes to see the white ceiling of your bedroom. The paint of your roof reminding you of those white petals. The brown withering petals crept into your mind.
“Okay!” You yell out, your body going stiff and your hands push Steve away from you. “We should stop.”
Steve stops all movement and sits back against his thighs, breathing heavily.
You pull yourself up to sit, also breathing heavily.
You both looked at each other, clothing rumpled and hair askew.
You took a deep breath and gave Steve a smile. “Phew.”
Steve chuckles at your discombobulated self.
“No matter how frustrated I get, I can never be mad at you.” Steve said softly, buttoning up his shirt again.
“And that’s why I love you.” You leaned forward to press another quick kiss on his lips.
Steve always understood that you didn’t want to have sex until you were married. He knew your fear of unwanted pregnancy, even though he called it over the top, he understood and waited.
You walked him to the front door to give him a proper goodbye. You sweetly kiss just outside your door, cupping his cheeks.
You pull back and give him a smile. “Don’t forget this.” You lifted his detective badge in your hand.
He smiles back as his hand closes around the badge to take it.
“Thanks for stopping by.” You gave him another kiss.
“No problem.” He pecked your lips again. “I will see you tomorrow at dinner?”
“I wouldn’t miss it.”
You let him go as he walked to his car and waved as he drove away.
That man had caught your heart the minute you saw him at her front door. Even if it was to report to a noise complaint on your birthday.
You smiled to yourself and skipped your way back into the house where May was seated on the couch. The theme music of the show she put on could be heard from outside.
“Jeez, you couldn’t turn that down?” You asked as you leapt over the back of the couch to sit next to her.
“Nope, just shush and eat your grilled cheese.” She handed you a plate with two grilled cheeses on it. Peter emerged from his room and sat on the other side of you, taking a slice of your grilled cheese.
You all watched as the screen faded into light, showing the main character played by the famous TV star, Tony Stark. May always watched his shows.
“Do we have to watch this?” Peter complained.
“Yes we do.” You and May said at the same time.
“She’s got me hooked on this stuff. You’ll like it.” You told Peter, but instead of agreeing, he groaned and got back up to trudge to his room. You shrugged and got comfortable next to May to watch the horrible but addictive romance show.
Only 8.2 miles away from where you lived, and 2 hours later, James Buchanan Barnes stood on the balcony of his hotel overlooking all of the open pool area as it got ready to open. He was very stressed about owning this one and began to doubt himself as he took in the setting.
“Buck, babe?” His wife’s voice rang from behind him.
He cringed on the inside before turning around to face her.
“What’s wrong?” Natasha asked him.
He shook his head. “Nothing. Just...thinking.” He gave her a tight lipped smile.
He fiddled with his hands as she stepped forward.
“You’re worrying about the hotel.” She said, knowingly.
Bucky sighed to himself. No matter how trapped he felt, they still had a connection that he had found with no one else. And in a way, he owed her.
“You know, you worry too much about what other people think of your accomplishments. You think you do too little so you try to overdo it.” Nat said on a soft voice as she slowly wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her chin on his chest and looking up at him with her green eyes. Her velvet red hair blew in the wind and Bucky thinks about how he first fell in love with her. It only happened twice.
Bucky’s chest rumbles as he chuckles at her words.
“You just need to relax.” Her voice changes from soft to seductive and her fingers trail over his belt and unbuttons his pants. Bucky watches her as she slowly sinks to her knees, taking the belt and his pants with her.
Bucky leans back against the railing as he feels her hands pull him out of his restraints and slowly rubs him til he hardens and take him in her mouth. He leans back and looks at the sky, just letting himself think of anyone but her, wrapping her lips around his member.
-
Downstairs in the women’s changing and storage rooms, you were getting ready to meet the new manager of staff. But your friend Wanda was hell-bent on pursuing a conversation you were uncomfortable with.
“I’m telling you, he’s gonna propose.” Wanda pointed out from the locker next to you.
“No he’s not.” You told her once again. “He knows my timeline and I haven’t even gotten my teachers degree yet-“
“You guys have been dating for two years!” She cut you off. “And you still haven’t boned. He doesn’t give a shit about the timeline anymore.”
You went to say something say something back to her when the door opened and a man with a big grin walks in.
“Ladies! Everybody decent?” He asks with a big smirk, disregarding the fact he’s already in the change rooms.
“Who are you?” Wanda asked, crossing her arms.
“I’m Sam Wilson, part of the new management team of this hotel and, well, I guess your new boss.” He said, smiling widely at his words.
You frown at his enthusiastic behaviour at those words. In his hand is a bunch of red straws he holds out to everyone.
“Pick a straw please? Anyone one is good and it doesn’t matter what straw as long as you are spectacular at your job.” You walked around to all the girls who took a straw from him. “It benefits us all which should be good because we all have the same goal. And that goal is...” he offers one to you with a wink. “To make bank.” He stepped back and observes everyone. “Alright, lets see those straws.”
Everyone lifts up their straws, and without failure, yours is the shortest.
Sam walks back up to you with his same grin. “What’s your name?”
“June.” You say quietly.
“But everyone calls her Jaz.” Wanda butts in.
You glare at her as Sam smirks at you. “Well, Jaz. You’re gonna be a great tail.”
You frown at his words.
-
You soon find out what he means as you lay, gracefully over a plastic clamshell in the hotel pool with a mermaid tail attached to your lower body. Everyone comes up to you, offering their empty glasses and you fill them up.
“This is bullshit.” You murmur but a co-worker who is in the pool next to you frowns.
“What do you mean?” He asks, as if he is also wearing the tail.
You slowly turn your head to glare at him and he shuts his mouth, stating quiet.
You go back to staring into space, hating the position you were in. You certainly did draw the short straw.
Bucky sits on one of He circular couches next to Becca.
“Buck, if you’re not happy, end it.” She says simply.
“But she stood by me.” He says, running his hands over his face.
“I know, but that doesn’t mean you owe her your whole life.” Becca says a-matter-of-factly. “You changed, of course you did. The whole cancer thing is going to change you and now she’s dangling it over your head. If it’s this toxic then just leave. It’s not going to make you our father if you do.”
Bucky sighs because he knows she’s right. He lets Natasha hold the cancer situation over his head and now he’s stuck.
“I know. Thank you.” He turns his head and looks at his sister. “Now go home to your wife.”
Becca smiles at him. “I will.” She stands up with him. “Try to enjoy your party.”
“I will.” They hugged before she made her way out of the party.
What they both didn’t know was that Natasha sat behind them on the other side of the circular lounge, her head against the back as she listened to their conversation. She knew their marriage was stale but she knew she couldn’t leave yet. If she was going to be divorced she was going to be walking out of that courtroom with 10 million to her name. Thank god for prenuptial agreement.
Bucky walked towards a waitress who held empty champagne glasses on a tray, a few people stopped him to shake his hand and he made his way over to her to take one, then she pointed him over to you, who still sat miserable on the clamshell.
You lifted your head to see his figure walking towards you and a rush of anxiety filled you. Before you could think, you rolled your body off the clam and threw the bottle into the pool.
Bucky frowned and stopped at the splash, watching you kick your way to the other side of the pool. The bizarre action made him turn back to the waitress who also frowned and led him to where a fresh bottle was sitting on ice.
You ripped the bottom of your tail open so your feet could poke out before getting out of the pool.
Wanda caught you getting out of the pool and approached you. “Um, what the hell?”
You lifted yourself out of the pool and moved the wet hair from your face.
“Do you remember a guy named James Barnes? He worked at the yacht club, he was like a member?” You asked her.
She raised an eyebrow and put her free hand on her hip. “The jerk You had a major crush on five years ago?” She questioned you.
“I didn’t have a major crush on him.” You said.
Wanda scoffed before continuing to walk, you shuffled alongside her in your mermaid costume.
“Are we talking about the same guy?” Wanda places her tray onto the bar bench for more glasses. “You had a magical kiss-“
“I was young, it meant nothing.” You said fast.
“What meant nothing?” For, another co-worker butted in.
“I need someone to run champagne to the pool ASAP.” The bartender addressed everyone.
You rolled your eyes but took it as an opportunity to get yourself out of the hole you just dug with Wanda and Dot.
“I got it.” You reached out for the bottles. You took them from his hands and quickly shuffled away to the small tent nearby the pool.
You really thought you would never see him again. And yet you wondered how the hell he managed to be staying at the same hotel that you were working at.
You began filling the champagne glasses as your mind ran over the reasons why he would be at the opening party.
People were filling the tent and you felt a presence behind you.
“I’ll hand out glasses.” He suggests. His voice sends shivers down your spine. You give him a small nod before going back to pouring.
Bucky looks down at you, curious to know where he has seen you before.
“You look familiar.” He tries to say in the most polite way he can.
“Really? Not sure.” You shake your head in denial.
“No, I really think we’ve met before.” He pushes.
You stop for a second and pull your lips into a tight smile. “I’m not usually wearing clamshells.” You give him a small laugh and shift on your feet.
Bucky frowns for a second before gasping in realisation. “Oh, the strip club on Birk Street.”
You whip your head around to look at him in horror. “Jerk.” You say in disgust.
Bucky is shocked again at your sudden anger. Okay he was definitely wrong. He went to apologise when he heard Natasha’s voice over the speakers. “Can I have everyone’s attention? I would like to make a toast.”
You both turn to face her and she raises a glass in your direction. “To my husband. For already making this hotel great.”
Everyone clapped but you gaped in shock.
He was the new hotel owner. And you just insulted him.
Natasha came over to Bucky to pull him down into a hard kiss.
As he was distracted, you slipped out of the tent and headed back to the change rooms. You believe it’s time for you to go home.
-
Becca moves through her front door, quietly closing it behind her, knowing her wife was asleep. She kicked off her heels in the living room before making her way down the hall to her bedroom. But a sound slowed her down, the sound of moaning was coming from her bedroom.
The door was open ajar and light shone through into the hallway. Becca pushed open the door to see her wife’s legs entangled with another woman’s. Dread literally overcame her and her wife’s head popped up from the bed at the squeak of the door.
“Oh god, Becca.”
-
You finally settled into your bed. May lay next to you, it’s one of those nights again.
Your phone buzzed from your nightstand and you picked it up to see Steve had messaged you. You looked at the time. It’s 4:23am.
You back?
You smiled. Yep, In bed.
Phone sex?
You scoffed and lightly laughed.
May’s sleeping in here tonight.
Soundly?
You softly laugh at him again.
Ew. So...I called the new hotel owner a jerk tonight.
WHAT? Why?
Long story.
Get some sleep. You have to be up in 3 hours. Doctors apt at 9 and a class at 12.
You frowned at how he knew your schedule.
Finally enjoying our conjoined calendar.
You smiled at him. He did still know your timeline.
Love you.
You too.
With that you finally put down your phone and turned the lamp off, drifting to sleep.
It felt like only a minute since you fell asleep that your alarm woke you up.
You groaned and pushed your face off the pillow, getting up to get ready for the day.
-
Becca tried to console herself in the work bathroom before heading outside. The pain was still very much panging in her chest since she’s woken up. Looking in the mirror, she saw how much of a mess she was.
Hating her life and needing to work was going to break her but she would fight against it.
She rubbed at her eyes and splashed water in her face to try and make herself look better.
She huffed, giving up before exiting the bathroom and heading into the doctors hallway.
A nurse approached her almost immediately. “Dr. Alver, there you are. You are running a little behind.
Hearing the nurse mention the name she had taken in marriage almost broke her again. The stress of today was already weighing on her.
“Yes I know, rough start to the day.”
“Yes, well as you should know you’re filling in for Dr. Peters today. You have an insemination in room seven and a pap in room eight.” The nurse handed Becca over the tools as Becca’s phone rang. Blindly, Becca collected the tools and picked up her phone in the other hand, seeing her wife’s name on the calling screen.
“Doctor, did you hear me?” The nurse asked.
“Yes, I did. An insemination and a pap. Thank you.” Becca said dismissing the nurse and turning away from her to answer the call.
Her wife’s voice flooded her ears.
“Becca, please. I’m so sorry, she didn’t mean anything! I’m a screwed up person, I don’t even car-“ Becca hung up the phone as her voice became too much for her to handle anymore.
Trying to compose herself again, Becca walks straight into room eight.
“Ms Parker, how are you. Are you ready for you’re insemination?” Becca asked, not looking up from your file as she enters the room.
The door closing woke you up from your nap on the examination chair.
“Oh, I’m so sorry.“ Becca apologises as she sees you startled.
“No, that’s fine. Sorry I’m a little tired.” You say, noticing that the doctor is a little flustered. “Yes, I am ready.”
You smile at her.
“Okay good.”
“I thought I had an appointment with Dr Peters?” You asked.
“Oh yes. I’ll be filling in for her while she’s on her...honeymoon.” You noticed her get a bit spacey as she said that. But she was quickly shaken out of it. “I’m Dr Alver.”
“Are you okay?” You asked as she took a seat in front of your spread legs.
“Oh yeah I’m fine. I’m just going through some personal problems.” Becca tried to give you her best smile.
Becca reaches to put on the gloves. “Did you bring anyone with you?” She tried to distract herself.
“Here?” You frown. “No, just me.”
“Oh you’re doing it alone. Good for you.” You could tell she was trying hard not to break down again. “It’s probably easiest that way.” She tried hard but the tears pushed through her eyes again.
“Dr Alver, we can do his another time of you want to?” You asked her, a little concerned.
“No, no I’m okay.” Becca pulls herself together and grabs the insemination tool.
“Are you sure? Because I can come back later if it’s better- Oh okay, you’re already doing it.” You grasps the sides of the bed as you feel the tool enter you.
“No it’s not fair one you. Because you’d have to wait a whole month and it’s just a waste of your time.” Becca smiles at you reassuringly and finishes the insemination.
She slowly pulls the tool out and puts it on the tray. “And you’re all done!”
You look down. “That’s it?”
“That’s it.” Becca nods taking off her gloves. “You should get your results in two weeks.” She smiles at you before collecting her forms. “You have a good day, Ms Parker.”
“You try to as well, Dr. Alver.” You smile at her as you let your legs down, feeling glad your first pap was over.
Becca walks across from room eight and into room seven.
“Hello, Ms-“ Becca looks up to see Natasha sitting in the examination chair. “I didn’t know that you were coming.”
“I had the nurse unfreeze Bucky’s sperm.” Nat’s words fell onto Becca’s ears as a curse. “That’s why I didn’t tell you, you guys are so close I didn’t want to put you in an awkward position.”
Becca goes through the appointments she has this morning in her head. An insemination and a pap. Here Natasha is, talking about her brothers sperm after she just inseminated you.
Her body feels weak as she puts the horrible reality together in her brain and her heart beats hard and fast out of fear.
“Look, if you don’t do it, someone else will. And I know from the internet that you can’t refreeze the sperm, so...unless you want the sperm to die.” Nat’s threats push more dread through Becca’s body.
She just fucking inseminated the wrong woman. With her brothers sperm
Let me know if you liked it!

‘you need to be strong for both of them’
Tumblr media
a part 2 to paging doctor, which you can read here!
Steve exited the delivery room as soon as he could. The Beta nurses could handle taking care of the child and returning the Omega to her room. Or, he at least hoped as much. He didn’t trust his staff much after some of the slip-ups they’ve made.
Wanda was waiting just down the hall, her hands gripped together in worry. As if that wasn’t enough, Steve could smell it on her as well.
“What’s the situation?” Steve was adjusting his coat as they walked to wherever Wanda was taking him. She glanced at her pager for a moment before looking back to the hall. Was she reading something about Y/N? Did Bucky page her? Why didn’t he page him, if it was about Y/N?
“Something was obstructing the birth canal. Bucky was going to do the surgery but he couldn’t get out of the headspace. Stark is going to take over so you two can take over as supportive Alphas,” Wanda said.
They stopped before Y/N’s room. He knew she wasn’t there, nor was Bucky. Their pulse, their connection, was fainter. He wasn’t sure why they had stopped there.
“How is she?”
Wanda opened the door to the room and went to retrieve a ponytail and bobby-pins. Ah, Y/N’s hair was in the way. Steve should have expected as much.
“Panicked. Her pups are in danger, and Bucky being worried only worries her more.” Wanda turned to him and pointed a finger to his chest.
“Which is why you need to be ready to walk in that room and be ready to be head Alpha today. You need to be calm enough for the both of them.”
Wanda removed her hand and watched Steve put his hands on his hips. He looked down to the floor briefly.
“Okay,” he took in a deep breath, “I can do this.”
If he could calm Bucky down, then they could calm Y/N down. Though Bucky could get angry that he didn’t take care of their Omega first....
He could comfort Y/N first and that would help Bucky calm down as well. Either way, he was in charge of keeping everyone calm. That was his job right now.
The pair headed to the operating room and made it through all the clearances. Steve could feel the pulse grow stronger, as well as the worry settling under his skin. They must be getting close.
One turn of the hall and Steve was right. Bucky was sitting outside the room, staring at the door. That chair surely didn’t belong there, which meant he dragged it from the waiting room. His worry would almost be cute if his Omega wasn’t on the line.
“They kicked you out?” Steve’s voice was strong, but it wasn’t  harsh. Bucky was more comforted by being honest than fluff and sweetness. At least from Steve anyway. Y/N was better at a softer touch and kinder words.
“I kicked myself out. Crazy what she can do to me.” He sounded defeated. There was nothing he wanted more than to be with Y/N, but the sight of her worry and the pain he could feel radiating from her....
“I’m gonna go take a look. She was put under, right?”
Bucky nodded, but his eyes didn’t meet Steve’s. Part of him felt as if he had let his pack down. Maybe he should have noticed the obstruction when she was at her last appointment, or through the hormone shifts. Something should have clued him in but he was too clouded to notice.
“We’ll talk in a minute. I’ll be right back,” Steve whispered. He held both sides of Bucky’s head and kissed his forehead. It was longer than usual, but he could feel Bucky relax some under his touch.
It took some time and effort but Steve was able to look through the window of the OR door and see some of what was happening. Stark was working hard to help their Omega. Though he couldn’t go in. They had to play a waiting game.
Steve returned to Bucky after he retrieved a chair from the waiting room. They could sit together and wait for the news. Their hands were intertwined as they sat in silence.
“She’s gonna be okay. Stark’s the best we know,” Bucky mumbled. He mostly wanted to reassure himself. Steve appreciated it though.
“You’re right. Y/N is our strong Omega. This is nothing for her.” Steve knew this and believed it in his heart of hearts.
It was a while before Stark finally came out. He looked exhausted but had a smile on his face. His presence sent the two Alphas standing full attention on him.
“She’s fine, and so are the pups. Small obstruction was removed and shouldn’t cause any problems in the future. Y/N will be back to her room and the pups are on their way to the nursery. Once she’s up, let Nat know.”
The three Alphas walked in the direction of the nursery. Stark wanted to see the pups all clean and ready to greet the world. He helped deliver them after all.
Bucky was the first to notice two pink bundles being carted in. They were so small, so pudgy. He wanted to hold them and never let them go.
“What beauties. You two should be proud,” Stark commented. He patted both their backs, then left to return to his job.
“I can’t believe....” Bucky’s sentence trailed off. He couldn’t believe so many things. He wasn’t sure what he did in a past life to feel such joy as this.
“I can. Our family is growing, and for the better.” Steve pulled Bucky in and kissed his cheek. They stayed in a comfortable hold for a few moments, watching their pups adjust to the new world.
“Let’s head back to Y/N. She’s gotta be back by now.”
Bucky held Steve’s hand on their walk. His head had leveled out some hearing the news from Stark and seeing his pups. Of course, Steve was a big help too. Sometimes when the static in his mind grew too loud, Steve knew the right words to silence it all.
Steve slowly opened the door in case Y/N was still sleeping. He and Bucky shuffled in together. She was barely awake, pinning her hair back correctly. There was something somber in her smell.
It wasn’t a secret that Y/N wanted to birth her pups naturally. She wanted a no hitch, all happy birth that made her Alphas proud of her. Knowing their Omega, she wasn’t happy with how this went down.
“There’s our wonderful Omega,” Steve said. He walked to the right side of her bed, sitting on the edge and holding her free hand. He didn’t want to agitate the IV in her other hand.
“Are they okay? Did I, Did I-” Y/N cut herself off by sobbing. The emotions were too much for her. She hoped it was just from the haze of surgery and all.
Both the Alphas were by her side in a minute, trying to comfort her. Steve rubbed her arm while Bucky rubbed her back.
“They’re both in the nursery, bundled and sleeping,” Bucky said. Steve nodded in confirmation.
“Stark said they were the picture of perfect pups. Healthy as can be.” That helped Y/N calm down significantly. Bucky wiped away her tears and kissed her cheek. She smiled at him, then Steve after. They were the best Alphas.
“Can I see them? Please?” Y/N wanted nothing more than to hold her pups and have her Alphas with her. She didn’t get to hold them during the birth, so she’d have to hold them for twice as long. If Bucky and Steve wouldn’t get so snarly, she’d keep them all to herself for the first hour at least. Though her Alphas deserved to see them and hold them and every other thing she could think of.
“I’m on it.” Steve pulled out his phone and started texting quickly. Y/N was very thankful her husbands had such big roles here. It made this whole situation easier to swallow.
It wasn’t long before two pups were delivered to the room. Any scent of worry had left Y/N and she was tickled to see her pups. The pack was full of excitement to see them.
“Pup A.” Wanda handed the first one to Y/N, carefully lowering the pup into her arms. Oh, she was perfect. Though she was spitting image of Bucky Barnes if she had ever seen one.  She was gonna have all the boys and girls chasing after her.
“And Pup B.” The other pup was cradled in Y/N’s other arm. She was a little smaller, a little lighter than her sister. She took after Steve, but had Y/N’s nose. Still cute as a button to her.
Bucky and Steve were immediately enamored by their pups. They were pudgy and a little scary looking, but the two Alphas were too clouded by love to care. Their pack was complete.
Pup A was named Charlotte Rebekah. Bucky wanted to honor both his sister as well as Y/N’s. Plus, he wouldn’t admit it but he had always wanted a little girl named Charlie. They were gonna be a tag team, he could already tell.
Pup B was named Amelia May. There wasn’t much of a reason for the name. Steve had approached his Alpha and Omega with it and they both loved it. When she was finally here and tucked into Steve’s arms, he knew that it was perfect for this little pup.
Everything was finally perfect.

PART I
PART II of X
Count: 2691
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
The sun felt good on your skin. You kind of liked it after living somewhere rainy all the time. You had driven your car to LA and David was able to hook you up with a place to stay since one of his clients was out of town for the next 6 months and didn’t mind having someone there as long as the place wasn’t trashed.
The place was nice and decently sized as you set your equipment down and went back to your car to get your bags.
You had a gig to play at some trust fund kid’s 21st birthday (usually you’d decline these types of requests, but he was paying you enough to buy a liver on the black market), so you needed to drive out to the Palm Desert in two days.
After you put all your things away, you sat on the bed, pulling out your phone. This was the tricky part. You needed to find an organic way to meet Wanda. You didn’t want to come off as a fan, nor did you want to meet her through work because it would be difficult to discern if she liked you, or if she liked your connections.
You needed to find a way to be in her social circle, without being someone she just networks with.
You were scrolling through her Instagram more in-depth this time, being careful to not like any of the photos.
You discovered that she had a fiancé, some nobody indie singer named Jarvis, but only went by his stage name, Vision (you had to roll your eyes a little at that).
You discovered regular places that she liked to frequent. Book stores, restaurants, bars, beaches, etc.
You tapped your fingers idly at your side. How were you going to bump into her? Her latest Instagram post shared that she had a new partnership with Biologique Recherche and was repping their skincare line, but there wasn’t anything you could really do with that.
You sighed and put your phone away. Closing your eyes, you opted to take a nap, being so tired from the drive.
Maybe you would just have to meet her in a work setting, it would just be harder to move away from just networking friend.
But you weren’t against hard work.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶
By the time you had woken up, it was pretty late. You were a little miffed knowing that it was going to mess with your sleeping schedule, but there wasn’t much that you could do about it now.
Your stomach growled hungrily, and you got up getting ready to grab a bite to eat since there was no food in the house. You were thinking about heading to that fast food chain that served healthy food bowls. Wanda had posted a photo of it, and you had to admit it looked pretty good.
It was a relatively new chain, so they didn’t have any more than two locations. It was a pretty walkable distance from your place, so you just put on a light cardigan and left.
You were tinkering away on your phone when you walked into the shop, standing in line, not looking up. You shuffled a little as the person in front of you moved up to the counter to put in their order.
“Ah, sorry, hold on. I swear my wallet is in here.”
The voice makes you look instantly.
It’s the only voice you’ve been hearing for the past two days.
There she was. Standing in front of you, back turned as she was in yoga pants, a tank top, and a sweater. Probably just coming from a workout.
You watched as she aggressively looked through her large bag, digging for what you presumed for is a wallet. She sighed disappointedly, letting you know there was no luck in finding the wallet.
This was your organic moment, you thought. It was too good, you were too lucky to get this moment. And you weren’t going to waste it.
Just as she was about to tell the cashier to cancel the order, you stepped up.
“Hey,” you softly greeted, surprising her to look over. You grinned lightly, trying to look a little sheepish and non-threatening. “I couldn’t help but overhear you can’t find your wallet. Happens to me too. If you’re okay with it, you can put your order with mine.”
Wanda eyes you for a moment but then smiles. “Yeah, if you’re okay with that. I can pay you back.”
You chuckle, waving her off and stepping up closer to the cashier to put in your order. “It’s no problem. It’s an $8 bowl, you’re hardly breaking my bank.”
She laughs, bringing you to smile a wider. You pay for the order, and the cashier tells you to grab a seat, and they’ll bring it out to you.
Wanda turns to you. “Thanks again for that, I swear I brought my wallet with me. Since you don’t want me to pay you back, did you want to eat together? I mean, if you’re not busy and all.”
Your inner voice can’t help but celebrate at how well it’s going, but you put on a happy grin. “Sure.”
You grab a corner table that’s next to the window. Wanda’s hair is in a messy bun before she pulls it out, curls falling over as she pushes her bangs over to one side.
She’s too gorgeous, you think.
“I’m Wanda,” she introduces herself.
You introduce yourself back and set your phone facing down on the table.
“Late night workout?” You ask, eyeing her attire again. She nodded, sipping on her water.
“Yeah, it’s been a crazy hectic day, and I’m trying to be really good about not skipping.” She says with a mischievous smirk making you laugh lightly.
“What about you?” She asks about your day.
You shake her head, “Nah, I just got in town. I did kind of put some of my things away, but napping kind of put a wrench in getting anything else done and potentially getting any sleep tonight.”
Wanda giggles and you feel like a lovesick puppy trying to get her to laugh again.
The conversation stays polite. You both trade funny stories and anecdotes to get to know each other a little better.
Wanda is trying to not choke on her food as you finish your story.
“No way,” she snorts a little, and you sigh in almost a shameful way.
“Nope, it really happened. I had to scale down her freaking balcony, couldn’t even get my shoes. Guess I was lucky to have my underwear at least.”
Wanda just bursts into a fit of laughter, eyes watering up as she wiped them.
“I can’t believe that happened to you,” she says, still laughing.
You shrug your shoulders, throwing your napkin into your finished bowl. “Me neither. What are the chances of an ex-girlfriend becoming roommates with someone you’re banging?”
Wanda’s laugh has died down, but she grins at you. The night is coming to an end, you’re not really sure how to go from here. You don’t think this warrants asking for her number, and you think she would reject it anyways since she has a fiancé.
You both get up, chatting a little more as you exit. You think you’re about to separate ways, but then you’re both walking in the same direction. You both chuckle, although a little awkwardly.
“Do you live this way?” She asks. You nod.
“Yeah,” you say and then tell her what community you’re living in. Her eyes brighten up happily.
“No way! We live in the same community! Wouldn’t it be crazy if we were neighbors?”
Your eyes widen slightly in surprise. This was insane. This was too coincidental and lucky. You’re starting to get worried you’re going to use up all the luck you have in this lifetime.
You chuckle, almost nervously as you both walk together home. She’s sharing with you about a bookstore she recently went to and loved as it was tiny and unorganized, but every book you pulled out was interesting.
Eventually, you come to her stop. She lived in a nice house as you predicted from getting paid to rep brands.
“Well, this is my stop. You any further from here?” She says, turning to you. You shake your head. You can’t believe you actually only live a couple blocks from her.
You point down the block and then up the road to where you're staying. “I’m just a couple blocks down and then up that road.”
Wanda’s eyes widened slightly and then her eyebrows furrowed. “Oh, wow, those are the really nice houses. I don’t remember anyone from there put any listings up for sale.”
“Yeah, I’m actually just here for maybe a couple months. I have a friend who knows the owner of a house up there and is letting me stay while they’re in Europe for like, 6 months.”
Wanda nods, understanding more of the situation. With nothing really left to be said, you’re saying goodbye to her, thinking about how you’re going to produce another organic meeting.
At least it would be easier now since you knew where she lived. You could pretend to be on a run and pass by. She said she goes to that new book store on Thursdays, so you could do that.
Just as you’re turning to leave, she calls your name again. You turn back around, wondering if you maybe dropped something. She’s holding her bag strap a little tightly and shifts from one foot to another.
“Did you, um, did you, maybe, want to come inside for a drink?”
You try to make sure you don’t make a surprised face because you think that might put her off and make her backtrack. So, you simply gave her a lopsided smile and nodded. She beamed at you and led you into her house. It’s pretty dark, and you’re wondering where her fiancé is since it’s late.
“Thanks for this, my finacé is out of town visiting a friend, and I hate staying in the house alone.”
Ah, that explains that. You tell her it’s not a problem. She gets you to sit down on her couch as she turns on a lamp and lights a few candles. Soon the room starts to smell like salted caramel, and you love it.
Wanda comes back with some wine and hands you a glass as she takes a seat.
“Is this okay? My fiancé hates it when I put on candles, the smell is overwhelming to him.”
You shook your head, taking a sip of the wine. “No, I love the smell. It reminds me of fall.”
“Same!” Wanda grinned.
“So,” Wanda started, swirling around her wine a little. “You haven’t actually moved here then?”
You shook your head again, leaning back a little more to get comfortable. Wanda is sitting facing towards you, her side leaning against the back of her couch as she has her legs tucked in.
“No, I’m actually just here for work. Though, I suppose if I enjoy it enough, I may decide to move here permanently.”
“What do you do for work?” Wanda asked, eyes piping with curiosity.
“I’m in the music industry,” you say cryptically with a smile. Wanda seemed to take it, though, smiling as her eyes spark.
“Oh! My fiancé, Jarvis, but goes by his stage name, Vision, is also in the music industry. He’s a singer.”
You try to keep your lip from twitching as you ask, “Anything I would’ve heard?”
She pursed her lips, pulling out her phone and loaded SoundCloud on it.
“Probably not. Vision just likes putting his music out there, he doesn’t really care about making it big.”
Doesn’t care about making it big, or unable to make it big, you wonder.
You hear soft guitar music playing, and you think it’s not bad. Until he sang.
His singing voice itself is pretty good. It’s just his lyrics.
God, you don’t think you’ve written such bad lyrics since you were 13. The song continues to play and you will your face to not cringe. When it finished, you give a smile to Wanda because she’s beaming like she’s so proud.
Your gut clenched because that was so bad and if she’s beaming like that, is she seriously in love with Vision?
“That’s...insane...” you say.
“I keep telling him to give his demos to agents out there, but he’s not into that. He keeps saying he just likes posting his music and if some hotshot finds him, then it’s meant to be.” Wanda said with a roll of her eyes.
You chuckled for lack of what to say and then changed the topic. “What do you do for work?”
You already knew, but it would be interesting to see what she would say about it.
“I suppose Vision would say I’m a photographer,” she mused, and you fight the urge to raise your brow. She wasn’t wrong, though, in a way.
“It’s nothing really, I post vlogs and brands pay me to represent their stuff.”
You weren’t really surprised by the humble approach, but you decided to give her what she wanted to hear.
Your eyes widened in surprise, “No way! That’s seriously amazing. So, you’re kind of famous?”
Wanda laughed bashfully, slapping you on your arm a little as she blushed.
“Oh god, no, not like famous, but I’ve got some loyal followers. It’s nothing really, pays good money.”
You take this moment to ask her what her Instagram and Youtube it so you can freely look at it and not worry about accidentally liking anything. You trade social media handles and start chatting again before her phone buzzes multiple times in a row. She gives you an apologetic smile as she checked her phone.
“Oh, man, are you fucking serious?” She groaned, putting her phone back down and throws her head back onto the couch, hand over her eyes.
“Everything okay?” You asked curiously.
Wanda sighed and lifts her head back up, expression dampened by whatever she read. “Yeah, sorry. I have a photoshoot in two days. My friend was supposed to give me a ride since my car is in the shop right now, but she just bailed.”
You watched as she pulled up her phone and scrolled through it, mumbling to see which person might be able to drive her.
It doesn’t sound promising.
“Where’s your photoshoot?” You ask her. She puts down her phone, looking a little defeated as she looks up at you.
“Palm Desert. Ugh, I think I’m going to have to cab it there.” She winced like she’s thinking about how much it’s going to cost to take a 2-hour taxi ride and you winced too.
You’re going to offer her a ride. It’s a little weird you think since she’s only known you for about 2 hours, but if since the universe keeps giving you these opportunities, you might as well take it.
“I can give you a ride there,” you said, watching her reaction. Her eyes widened, mouth opened a little.
“What, really? Are you sure?” She asked you, and you’re nearly concerned that Wanda doesn’t seem even slightly worried she’s going to be locked in a car with a person she’s only just met.
You nodded. “Yeah. I actually have to head to Palm Desert for work, so if you don’t mind tagging along, I can give you a lift. What time is your shoot at?”
Wanda looked so grateful as she replied, “It’s at noon.”
You nod, thinking if you have anything to do in the morning, but you don’t.
“Alright, I’ll come get you at 9AM? We can get some breakfast on the way and head out?” You asked, and she nodded her head up and down rapidly, a broad smile on her face.
“Oh my god, you’re a lifesaver! I’m so glad I met you today.” Wanda says, sinking to the couch a little more, drinking her wine leisurely now that her problem was solved.
You tilted your head to the side and smiled.
“Yeah, what a coincidence.”

Elevators And Earthquakes
Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Modern AU
Words: 2,172
Warnings: None? Claustrophobia, maybe? Wanda and Pietro. That’s enough of a warning in itself.
Request: @barnesrogersvstheworld‘s challenge.
Summary: A lost job. A missed date. Two people trapped in one elevator. Let the fuckery ensue.
A/N: It’s late. And I only just finished it, and its early morning right now. And I haven't slept yet. So take that as you will. Also, it’s not proofread. So there’s probably some mistakes... meh.
Tumblr media
(Not my GIF)
Remnants of frustration coursed through your body, as you banged on the button for the elevator to take you down.
The metal doors opened. Allowing you to step in.
Just as the doors were slowly closing, an arm shot out to stop them. A red-haired woman, who you've never seen in your life, stepped in. She wore a presumably expensive black dress. She looked like she had just stepped out of a modelling shoot. The cheesy pick-up line 'what's a pretty girl like you, doing in a place like this?' ran through your mind. Causing a smile to tug at your lips, because if this wasn't the most accurate representation of that line. Nothing was. She must have thought you were a complete weirdo smiling at nothing. But you couldn't find it in yourself to care.
Your arms were crossed as the elevator steadily travelled down.
Silence consumed you. Neither of you bothering to glance at the other again. Expecting to part ways, never to see the other again. Only to be remembered by the other as that attractive stranger you once shared an elevator with.
That is until the elevator started to shake. The fluorescent lights embedded into the walls and ceiling flickering madly.
Your arm flew out to grab the railing, the red-head woman doing the same. Pulling herself close to the wall, with both hands, so that she wouldn't fall over in her heels.
The shaking elevator slowed to a stop, the lights no longer plunging you in and out of darkness.
Turning to the woman, you asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," she nodded, pulling the skirt of her dress down a little, as to straighten it out, "Are you?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Are we still moving?"
"I don't think so," you said, moving to the keypad. Pressing the button to the ground floor, glancing up at the black window above the door, expecting to see the red dots indicating its destination. Instead, you saw nothing. Randomly pressing buttons to floors without looking at them, eyes locked onto the black window. Still, nothing happened.
Looking back down to the keypad, you pushed the emergency button at the same time the lights went out, leaving you trapped in darkness.
"You're not claustrophobic, are you?" you asked, turning to the vague direction of the red-head.
"I could be now."
You gave a small chuckle at her words while pulling your phone from your pocket, tapping on your "best friends" contact.
Not even one ring in and he answered. It was things like this, that gave you the reason to have his contact listed as 'speedy' on your phone.
"Did you feel that?!" Pietro asked you.
A bright light shining at the corner of your eye. Looking over, you saw the un-named woman scrolling through her own phone. The light shining on her red hair, and soft skin, giving her an almost heavenly glow.
"Yes, of course, I felt that. How did you know the elevator broke down?"
"Wait. Elevator? No, I meant the earthquake."
"There was an earthquake?!"
"Yeah, and a pretty big one at that. Wait. Hold on a sec. Are you trapped in an elevator?"
"Yeah," you confirmed, almost bashfully.
Pietro's loud laughter could be heard from the phone, the woman raising her hand, and cocking an eyebrow at the noise even she could hear. You gave her a tightlipped smile.
"What's so funny?" You heard Wanda's echoed question in the background, indicating she had just entered the room her brother was in.
"Y/N's stuck in an elevator," Pietro laughed.
"Hey, shut up!"
"Why is she stuck in an elevator?" Wanda asked, he voice clearer now. Pietro must have put the phone on speaker so she could hear you.
"Well, I can't really control that, now can I, Wanda?"
Practically feeling the eye roll she gave you, Pietro continued to ask, "Are you alone?"
"No."
"Oh my, God. Who are you with?" Pietro asked, excited at the prospect of gossip.
"I don't know. Just a woman." You smiled at her again, so that you wouldn't seem like a total asshole.
"Ooo, is she pretty?" Pietro cooed.
"Piet," Wanda scolded her brother, before continuing to ask you, "Is she though?"
Looking back to the woman next to you, to evaluate her appearance, even though you didn't need too. You turned away from her again, watching the wall intently.
"Yes."
"How pretty?"
"Y'know, Wanda, sometimes you're just as bad as your brother."
An offended gasp sounded from her, as Pietro laughed at her, pausing, then turning back to the phone.
"Hey, wait. What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Nothing. Just get me the hell out of here."
"What's wrong? Don't want to be around the pretty lady? Afraid you'll embarrass yourself?" Pietro teased.
"Pietro," your voice was stern, like 'a-mother-taking-to-their-child-when-they've-been-bad' level stern. Wanda laughing in the background told you clearly that Pietro was scared out of his mind.
"Now children. Be good while I'm away. No parties. No boys or girls- For either of you. Get me the fuck out of here. Wanda, you're in charge," you listed off.
"Hey, why is she in charge? I'm older than her!"
Before you could hear any of their bickerings, you hung up.  Turning to the red-head, you asked, "Do you have anyone you can call? Because even though they're my friends, and I love them. I don't really trust them to get me out of here."
She chuckled, "Sure."
Turning on the torch app, you balanced your phone on the handrail, so there was at least a little light, as the woman began talking to someone.
"Steve, hi," she said, "No, I don't need a rescue from my date. I'm not even on it." She paused as this 'Steve' spoke. "No. I'm trapped in an elevator."
Deciding against leaving your phone on the elevator's hand railing, instead of standing there twiddling your thumbs, and watching a stranger like a creep. You picked up your phone and began searching through news articles.
Brooklyn Blacked Out.
Fallen Telephone Wires Caused By Earthquake.
Brooklyn Earthquake: Everything We Know.
Tony Stark To Host Oscars.
Well, that's enough of that.
For the next five-or-so minutes, as the red-head explained the situation to her friend, Steve. You had scrolled through Twitter. Trying to get more information that the news was able to give you.
"Okay, Steve. Yeah, whoever you can call to get us out of this thing... okay, thanks... bye, Steve."
"He gonna get us out of here?" you asked.
"He's going to try," she sighed out, "Any updates?"
"None. Unless you count someones grandma not being able to cook dinner, and someone missing a TV programme."
"I do not," she chuckled, "Natasha."
"What?"
"My name. It's, Natasha," she clarified, offering her hand.
"Y/N," you replied, shaking her outstretched hand, "So, Natasha. It seems we're going to be stuck here for a little while."
"No. No. No. That is not possible!"
"It so is."
"How?!" Natasha asked flabbergasted, at the story you told.
"I don't know, He just manages to do this shit- His sister's no better," you replied from your spot across from Natasha on the floor of the elevator. It had been a little over an hour since Natasha had ended her call with Steve. Who you learned was her best friend, who had set her up on a blind date.
It surprised you how Natasha was so determined to sit on the dirty elevator floor, in her expensive dress. Because, and I quote, "If we're gonna be trapped in her for over twenty minutes, I am not standing in these heels". The spoken heels now sat next to her.
"You said she egged her brother, as he ran naked in the park?" she asked, getting a nod from you, "Then I don't doubt that for a second."
You burst out laughing at that, she didn't know the half of it.
"Yeah, college was a fun time. You should meet them sometime."
"Oh, I would love that," Natasha smiled, "That way, they can tell me all the weird, and embarrassing things you have done."
You paused thinking of your reply, staring at the floor between the two of you, before your eyes connected with hers, "You are never meeting them."
Her laughter turned into a comfortable silence, until Natasha asked, "So, what happened after?"
"What?"
"What happened after Pietro stole the mannequin?"
"Ohh," you drew out, being reminded of the story you currently told, "He ran back to his dorm room with it and kept it there. He still has it."
"No way!"
"Yeah, it's in his and Wanda's hallway, they use it as a key holder, it's dressed in a tuxedo, holding a bowl for you to throw your keys in," you told, cupping your hands together, to replay the image in your mind, "It's creepy as fuck."
"I can see how it would be," Natasha agreed, "But what about the police? You said they were chasing him. Did they find him?"
"No," you scoffed, mixed with a laugh, "I just don't think they cared. Must have thought it was funny more than anything."
"Makes sense," Natasha shrugged. Just then her phone started to ring. Smiling she picked it up.
"Hey, Steve... yeah, we're still in here."
"Save us!" You called so Steve would hear you.
"Oh, that's just, Y/N." Natasha hummed at Steve's question, before she answered, "Yeah, the person I'm trapped with. She's pretty cool."
"Aw, thanks, Nat," you smiled, causing Natasha to playfully glare at you.
"Yeah Steve, I'm still here... Oh, thanks, Steve. But I'm fine thanks... okay, bye."
"What's up?" you asked, nodding your head once in question.
"Steve was just checking up on me, making sure I hadn't died."
"Aw, how... sweet?"
"Yeah, he's nice like that. He's taken time out of his date with his boyfriend, just to make sure I was still kicking," Natasha joked.
"Notice how my friends haven't called?"
Natasha burst out laughing at this, leaning over her legs. Soon you were joining in with her.
"I'm sure they care," Natasha wheezed.
"Yeah. Knowing them, they've probably just got distracted."
A few quiet moments passed before you decided to speak again, "I'm sorry you missed your date," you told her sincerely.
"Ah." Natasha waved you off. "I've had more fun with you than I would have if I went on that date."
"Well, I'm flattered," you thanked, bringing your hands up to your chest.
Natasha smiled at you, and your antics. "I'm sorry about your job."
"You win some you lose some," you shrugged, "No big deal... I just have to go through the hassle of finding another job."
Natasha hummed, her eyes heavy, as she began making her way over to you.
"What are you doing?"
"Sitting next to you," she replied. Which she indeed was now sat next to you. Her arm rubbing up against yours, her head laying on your shoulder. "I'm tired."
"It's half-past nine?" You flopped your arm out as if that would prove your conclusion.
"So?"
"You're really going to-"
Right at that moment, the lights began to flicker on. Before they switched on entirely. The elevator moving once again.
You and Natasha both raised your arms, screaming out in victory.
"Fucking finally!"
Both of you practically ran out into the lit street, once the doors opened. Relishing in the cool night air.
"So," you said after a few moments, "I guess this is goodbye, Natasha."
"I hope not," she replied.
Natasha began walking towards you, rustling through her handbag, pulling out a business card and a pen. Scribbling something on the back of it, before flipping it back over, handing it to you.
"Steve's boyfriend," Natasha said, pointing to the card in your hand, causing you to glance down, catching the name 'Tony Stark'. Your eyes snapped back up to hers, as she continued, "Call the number, tell him you know me. And he'll give you a job right away. Title depending on your qualifications."
A small smile tugged on your face, "Thank you." you whispered.
"You're welcome. Mine's on the back."
Flipping the card over in your hand, you read the number written down in blue pen.
"Call me."
"I will."
You watched as Natasha began walking away, shoes swinging slightly in hand.
"Hey, Natasha?"
She turned. "Yeah?"
"What are you going to do now?"
Natasha shrugged in reply, slowly walking away backwards. "I don't really know."
"You fancy getting a bite to eat?"
"Can't get enough of me, huh?"
"Like hell," you replied.
"Sure. I'd love too."
"Hey, assholes!" You announced your presence by yelling and slamming the door behind you, in the twins' apartment. Rounding the corner to see them playing a game of poker, now looking over at you.
"Where was the help?"
"Sorry," Wanda said, "We got distracted."
"We're playing poker," Pietro added.
"Yes, I can see that." You sat on the sofa between the two siblings, sat at either end of the coffee table. Sighing you said, "Deal me in then."

Not Happening
Summary: An online dating site clearly makes a mistake when it matches you with the one person you cannot stand.
A/N: I’ve been meaning to write another story yet I somehow always manage to become stuck. To get my mind off it, I started to rematch Parks and Rec and got the idea for this fic lol. I'm thinking of giving it a few chapters and making it a mini series. The inspiration came from the episode “Soulmates” from the third season of the show. I’ll just be using the basic premise of the episode, this story wont follow it exactly. I’m also picturing this as a modern au :).  I hope you guys like it!! Thanks for reading as always.
MY STORIES
Tumblr media
Meet us downstairs in 5
Panic raced through your body as you realized you only had 5 minutes to meet Nat and Wanda. They had texted you almost two hours ago hoping you’d join them for coffee and you had, of course, left getting ready until the end.
Running to your closet you picked up the closest clothing items and threw them on, hoping you didn’t look too much of a mess. You gave yourself a quick look in the mirror, knowing there wasn’t enough time to do much more, grabbed your purse, and raced down the stairs.
Everybody knew Nat was a stickler for punctuality. It was her mission in life to be early to anything and everything she was ever invited to. Although she would never admit it, she always tried her best to rub off her punctuality to her friends, becoming easily annoyed when Tony or Sam claimed to be “fashionably late”. This was just a casual meeting with friends, but still, your survival instincts told you not to keep Nat waiting.
Exciting your building you looked up and down the street, a smile spreading across your face when you spotted your friends.
“Hey guys,” you said as you approached them, giving them a small wave.
“Hi,” they greeted in unison. Wanda was adjusting a cross body bag she wore as they began walking towards you.
You had known Nat and Wanda for several years now. Luck had placed all three of you in the same class in high school and you had become inseparable ever since. All three of your personalities complimented each other perfectly. Nat’s usual intense approach to life was balanced out by Wanda’s more easy-going attitude. You usually found yourself in between the two with a not so intense yet not so carefree attitude, finishing off the perfect mixture for a lasting friendship.
--
“So, you’re saying he was a dud,” Nat said with a smirk from behind her coffee cup. She had been showing a lot of interest in your love life, well to state more accurately, your non-existent love life.
The three of you were sipping on your coffee, casually conversing about a series of topics that had ranged from the recent news, to World Cup, to the date you had been on a few nights ago. If you knew anything about Nat and Wanda was that if they had something they wanted to know about you, they would most likely be able to ease it out of you. So, you carefully listened to their questions hoping to see where they were steering the conversation.
“That’s not what I said,” you replied with a chuckle.
A few nights ago, you had gone out to dinner with Jake, a new coworker. It had been a nice date. He had been a gentleman, opening doors and pulling out chairs, listening to you talk about your interests, had been very good at keeping the conversation going, yet after you had said goodbye you realized it felt more like you had hung out with Nat or Wanda. There had been no sparks, just a lovely beginning to a new friendship.
“He’s a great guy,” you continued, ignoring the sarcastic sounds of agreement both your friends were making. “He is! He’s kind, a great listener, but you know, he’s more of a guy that would make an excellent friend.”
“Fine,” Nat said, teasingly rolling her eyes. “If we’re getting technical, I guess you could say that even though he wasn’t a dud, the date was. Is that more accurate?”
“Yes!” you said, mockingly slamming your hands on the table. “That’s exactly it!”
“Well,” Wanda began and the way she drew out that word made you a tad nervous. “Maybe you can try looking somewhere else?”
“Come on, just spit it out Wanda,” you said knowing very well she must have been thinking something up with Nat if they seemed this interested in who you were or weren’t dating.
“Alright,” she said with a laugh. “Why don’t you look online? You know, on one of those dating sites. Maybe you can find someone there? Even if it’s just to have a little fun.”
“Yeah, I don’t think so,” you said shaking your head. “That’s kind of weird, no? Like I’m just supposed to feel a connection to someone simply by seeing their picture?”
“Well not exactly,” Nat jumped in. “See you write down your interests, so the site matches you with people who are into the same things.”
“Oh,” you said starting to consider making yourself a profile. It wouldn’t hurt to try, you thought.
“And I mean, maybe you don’t find your future husband, but maybe you find a few nice guys you get to hang out with,” Nat said. She leaned a bit forward on the table giving you a reassuring smile. “And you don’t have to accept to go out with anyone if you don’t want to. Just because you match with someone doesn’t mean you’ll have to meet.”
“Well,” you began. Your thoughts raced hoping this wouldn’t be as bad as you had originally thought. “I mean, I guess I could give it a try,” you smiled.
“Great!” Wanda said a bit too loud causing those around you to look your way. “Sorry,” she said, her hands up in an apologetic gesture. “We can build your profile right now!”
You were starting to question how they would be able to do that, but all your questions were answered as she pulled out a laptop from her bag.
“You guys planned this, didn’t you?” you said. You stared at them, piercing your eyes to let them know you were clearly suspicious of them.
“We just hoped you’d agree,” Nat said with a shrug. “We didn’t just invite you out for coffee for this. We really did want to hang out.”
“Fine,” you said with mock anger. “I’ll choose to believe you ONLY because you paid for my coffee and because you have graciously accepted to also buy me lunch.
“I didn’t,” she replied. “That was not a par-“
“Ok!” Wanda cut her off. “The first question says to describe yourself.”
“Let’s see,” you said, surprised at how fast she had pulled up the page. Knowing her, though, she had probably already saved it on her laptop for easy access. “I love to read and die for candy, another treat Nat has offered to buy me.”
“Ok. Sexy, well read, and loves the sweeter things in life,” Wanda said as she typed the description onto your profile.
“Much better,” you said with a chuckle.
“Favorite place?” Wanda asked.
“Um.. Oh! The small community garden that’s right by my place. It has this cute bench right by a patch of flowers.”
“Really?” Nat asked. “It can be anywhere in the world. Paris, Hawaii, the Grand Canyon?”
“Nope,” you said as you pictured the bench you were talking about, a smile appearing on your lips at the peace sitting there usually brought. It had a great view of this patch of colorful flowers. If your sat at the perfect spot, you could pretend it wasn’t only a patch, but a meadow that extended as far as your eye could see. “Just the little bench in that garden.”
“What do you think of dogs?” Wanda asked after having typed your response.
“Love,” you replied quickly.
“Cats?”
“Love.”
“Fish?”
“Love”
“Turtles?”
“No opinion,” a serious tone suddenly overtook your voice. Nat and Wanda both turned to you with a confused look. “They’re condescending,” you said nonchalantly.
“Ok” Wanda said with amusement. “Describe your ideal man.”
“Oh gosh. I mean, mysterious.”
“Mhmm,” Nat nodded in agreement as she took another sip of her coffee.
“Funny, intelligent, kind, caring, great listener, not afraid to show emotion or of commitment, handsome, romantic, can build stuff, doesn’t mind getting caught in the rain, can row a boat.”
“You’re just describing Noah Calhoun from The Notebook,” Wanda snorted.
“Mmm,” you said with a smile. “I mean if this thing,” you said pointing at the computer, “can find me a Noah Calhoun then I might just kiss it.”
“Who’s this poor Noah guy?” an intruding male voice caused you all to look behind you. “And can I just tell him how sorry I am that he might be stuck with you? It’s the least I can do for the guy.”
You rolled your eyes as you realized Bucky was the one speaking. The two of you had met thanks to your mutual friend Steve and had never gotten along. He was so full of himself, thinking he was high and mighty and could get whatever he wanted. His cocky attitude had instantly caused you to suppress voicing some of your strongest opinions on him for Steve’s sake. You were still unsure of how he and Steve could be friends. Steve was so kind and sweet, and Bucky was the embodiment of all your pet peeves and then some.
Pulling up a chair from the table next to you, he took a seat next to Wanda, who thankfully immediately closed her laptop before Bucky could see what you had been working on.
“Hi Nat,” Bucky flashed a smile to the red head who responded with a quick hello. “Wanda,” he said, playfully bumping his shoulder with hers.
“Hi Buck,” Wanda responded.
After being invited to a get together at Steve’s place, Bucky had met both Nat and Wanda. Neither of your friends had found Bucky as off putting as you had made him out to be. They accompanied you ready to hate Bucky’s guts as much as you did, but left chatting about how funny and interesting he was. You had rolled your eyes telling them once they saw him as many times as you had, they would be singing a different tune. Unfortunately for you, though, that had not happened just yet. On the contrary, Bucky seemed to charm them more every time.
“So why are you trying to ruin this guy’s day, Y/N?”
“Shut it Barnes,” you snapped back at him. “You’re rudely interrupting a conversation, by the way, so why don’t you just leave us alone.”
“Ouch,” he said, mockingly placing a hand over his heart. “And here I was thinking you’d be happy to see me, doll.”
“I doubt you’ll ever get that reaction from me. I’ve already had enough of you to last two lifetimes.”
“Did you get dressed in the dark?” he asked, pointing at your clothes, which you had hastily thrown on.
“Shut up,” you replied, an edge to your voice only he was able to bring out. “It’s not like you’re much of a fashion expert.”
“Maybe,” he chuckled as he raised an eyebrow, unbothered by your evident unhappiness with his presence. “But even I know those colors clash. Anyway,” he said directing his gaze to Nat. “What were you guys talking about?”
“Nothing much,” she replied with a slight smile. “Just planning our day.”
You looked over at her, hoping she could sense the waves of gratitude you were trying to telepathically send her way, for not letting Bucky know about your online profile. He would surely tease you about it until you pulled your hair out.
“Well, if you guys are interested there’s this new photo gallery one of my buddies just opened up. He asked me to invite all the cool people I know, so sorry Y/N, but this invitation is just for Nat and Wanda,” a smirk you wish you could punch away spread across his lips. You stared back at him with a deathly glare mentally willing him to just disappear. He just had this way of getting under your skin with anything he said or did. He could be standing half a mile away from you, looking in the opposite direction, and he would still manage to piss you off.
‘Whatever’, you mouthed as you rolled your eyes at him.
“It opens tonight at 8,” he said as he (finally) began standing up and handed a small flyer to Wanda. “And you know what? I’ll be nice and also extend the invitation to you Y/N. Don’t say I’ve never done anything for you,” he said with a wink; a very stupid and irritating wink.
“We’ll be there,” Nat said with a laugh. For some reason she always found Bucky’s attitude towards you humorous. You looked at her incredulously, taking back all the gratitude you had sent her way before.
“Awesome,” he said. “Look forward to seeing two of you tonight.”
With that he turned and walked out the coffee place.
“You did not just accept an invitation from that idiot!” You glared at Nat, who continued to laugh.
“I did,” she finally said after managing to control her laughter.
“Wanda!” you said looking for back up. “Surely you see the evil I’m trying to fight off.”
She chuckled, “Y/N, he’s a just an idiot around you and he did invite you too at the end.”
You crossed your arms across your chest.
“You two can have fun at this lame photo exhibit because you can forget about me going. I don’t think I’ll be able to pretend to get along with him at a public function.”
“We’ll talk about that later,” Nat said, waving her hands as if that could easily dismiss your hatred towards Bucky. “Let’s finish up your profile.”
“Yes!” Wanda said, having seemingly forgotten about it thanks to Bucky. “I just have to upload your info and a picture.”
After taking out her phone, she and Nat helped you take a nice picture, helping you find your best angle and arranging your hair the most flattering way. You approved a picture, and Wanda uploaded it to your profile.
“Now, you can start looking through a few profiles or you can wait until the system finds you someone they think might be a good match.”
“Lets just start looking,” you leaned forward to get a better look at the computer screen.
“Wait!” Wanda yelled, startling  both Nat and you.
“What is it?” Nat asked a bit worried at Wanda’s sudden exclamation.
“You got a match!” Wanda said, all but bouncing up and down on her seat.
“Really?!?” you said a bit too excitedly; something that did not go unnoticed by Nat who chuckled.
“Oh my god,” Wanda continued reaching out for your hand. “It’s a 98% match! That’s a soulmate level match. I’ve never seen anything this high before.”
You squealed unable to hold back your excitement. What if this online dating site actually guided you to your perfect match. Maybe you really were about to find your own Noah Calhoun.
“This computer might’ve actually just found the future Mr. Y/L/N,” Nat said.
“Who is he!?” you asked scanning the screen and not seeing any information on him.
“Click right here,” Wanda said pointing to a small red box in the center of the screen. “That will take you to his profile.”
Nat gave you a drumroll by banging her hands on the table as you moved the cursor to the little red box.
After a pause for dramatic effect, you gave the box a click.
“Ah!” you recoiled as Nat and Wanda double over besides you with laughter.
Staring right back at you was a picture of a man, leaning on a motorcycle, wearing a black leather jacket. He looked off to one side, trying to make this clearly posed picture look like a candid shot. His eyes were too familiar, despite them looking to one side, his voice already nagging in your mind.
His name was written across the top of the page, in bold black letters, mocking you.
JAMES BARNES.
This HAD to be a joke.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
“Are you dating Mr. Barnes?”
For a brief flash in early November, you are one of the most important news topics within the high school after the school newspaper comes out, including all the pictures from the Halloween dance. Front and center in the couple's section is you dancing with Mr. Barnes and that immediately grabs the attention of certain sections of the school. You feel the teenage girls look at you with extra scrutiny, and even some of the teachers look on when you talk too long with the man during the latest development meetings, even though you are more focused on the initial revolution recreations with Mr. Fury. Mr. Rogers’ smile seems friendlier than usual as Natasha raises an eyebrow at how Mr. Barnes’ interacts with you. Maybe, it’s just all in your head, but it feels like that year in high school all over again -- when you first met Wanda and Pietro.
“ Doll . DOLL !” you jump at a familiar voice calling your name, and you look up to see worried blue eyes staring at you. The library is empty for lunch this time around since you cancelled today’s meeting, “Are you okay?”
“Y-Yes, perfectly,” you say with a tired voice that you know he doesn’t quite believe. James frowns while bringing over a nearby chair to sit across from you. You place your head on the table and it almost feels like a parallel of the incident from a while back.
“I can smell bs from a mile away,” you can hear his voice, as you let out an annoyed groan. For all you wanted to do and throw yourself out in the world, it was starting to come back to haunt you in terms of irrational fears and potential unmet expectations. Things you didn’t have to deal with if you had stayed in your shell. Wanda and Carol were happy to see the progress, hell even Pietro was grinning from half a world away, but right now you wanted to take everything back. You hear him call your name again and for some reason something snaps inside you.
“Fuck off, James,” you lift up your head, the desperate sound of his name causing him to stop, as you tug the front of your hair a bit in agitation, “How do you do everything all the time ? How the fuck is everything you do so fucking perfect?”
Your voice cracks at the end, as you feel tears start to swell in the corners of your eyes. Mr. Barnes looks like he’s in a bit of panic before cautiously taking your hand from across the table and rubbing his fingers over your knuckles softly. He starts humming a song you don’t know as you let out a hiccup.
“Hey, hey, what’s this all about?” James finally has the courage to ask.
“I-I was fine hiding behind Mr. Philips all the time, hell even when I could just sit in the library by myself. But now, people are looking up at me, expecting and  wondering things -- I’m scared: What if I mess us? What if they hate me and my ideas? How do you do it all the time? “
You let out a gulp of air, as your eyes start to blur from not being able to stop the tears. While you’re used to having panic attacks, it feels different --scarier, disgusting-- having one in front of him. The chair scrapes and all you hear is rushed footsteps coming to your side as he tries to get you to match his breathing. Your sobbing is echoing throughout the library as he keeps saying inconsequential things to you. It takes a good ten minutes for you to calm down and James rubs some of the tears away before handing you tissues.
“You’ve been feeling like this for awhile, huh?” he questions as you just nod,”But, I ain’t perfect, doll, no one is. I work hard, but I’ve lost a lot of people along the way because of my stubborness. I question if I’m doing the right thing all the time . Hell, I can’t even tell the woman I’m in love with about my feelings, ‘cause I’m a coward after all the shit I’ve gone through and done. It’s okay to question life, but don’t stop living it ‘cause you’re scared.”
He finishes off softly and you can’t help but agree. Though it doesn’t rid you of your initial fears, it is a step in the right direction of getting used to all these new burdens and responsibilities placed on you.
“You know, you can tell me anything,” He continues after a moment, though his smile is more heartbreaking than before, “We’re friends… I’ve got your back now.”
“I know. Thank you, James,” you croon due to the crying, though you give him your best watery smile, as he grins a little more than before.
“Bucky, doll. All my friends call me Bucky,” he says as you have calmed down. You’re still scared, but a little more prepared to handle the world now.
“Okay, Bucky,” you say softly, and Bucky swears it’s the best way his nickname has been said in a long time.
Here’s the thing though, as much you want to trust James -Bucky, at least when the kids aren’t around- you don’t want to be an annoyance to someone that you haven’t know that long, and you know you only have to wait out the rest of November. You know after that Pietro is going to come home soon, but first it was Vision. You, Wanda, and Carol set up a small get together (Vision didn’t have many friends) at The Lone Star . You just didn’t know another party was there at the same time, having not yet seen three familiar faces on the other side of the room, though they have already seen you.
“The Barnes Love Radar strikes again !” Sam laughs as he watches Bucky glancing to your table as you chat the night away with the same redhead and blonde from the last time.
“Hmmm, I didn’t know the Librarian was the one Lila wouldn’t stop talking about,” Clint adds his own remark as Laura laughs, remembering how much her little girl had fallen for you in such a short amount of time, even making Bucky promise to bring her again one day -- although he hadn’t told you that yet.
“Maybe, we should add them to the party?” Sam questions with wiggling eyebrows, as Bucky shakes his head before downing his drink. However, that question is ignored when the door opens and everyone is hoping it is their guest of honor.
In the doorway, a tall, blond man wearing thick winter clothing steps in. Blue eyes notice that he is heading towards your table. Bucky lets out a relieved sigh when the redhead is the one that tackles the man down with a hug, as you just laugh and give him a warm greeting. As hard as Bucky hopes you didn’t have a significant other, there was a part in him where that fear brightly burned, especially when you had gotten so distant after he witnessed your panic attack. Maybe you had gotten help from someone that knew you better, more intimately, than him.
He is too into his own thoughts to notice the door opening again to reveal another tall blond, though this one with shorter hair and no longer wearing the beard his friends were so used to. Thus, it takes everyone awhile to realize that it’s Thor. They all welcome him with cheers, though there is some confusion when they see another person with him.
“It is good to see you all again!” He proceeds to gives gifts and hugs to everyone, as the younger man stands to the side with a bashful smile on his face, completely unaware he’s already been caught by a certain younger sister across the room.
“My friend here has nowhere to stay at the moment since he came in earlier than expected, but can’t contact his sister or loved one just yet. A surprise,” Thor explains, as the silver-haired young man smiles to  the rest of the group. They welcome him to the best of their abilities since they were used to Thor doing stuff like this, whether it be helping a stranger or even a lost animal -- the man had a golden heart.
However, Bucky wasn’t paying attention to the conversation at hand, more focused on you heading near his place in the bar to get more drinks. He straightens his back just in case you see him, but everything stops when you both hear a scream behind you.
“ PIETRO MAXIMOFF!” Wanda screams, as the silver-blond man freezes at the sight of the woman barreling towards him, only for her to start hitting him and speaking in a language nobody else seems to understand. James turns to look at a wide-eyed you walking past him and towards the two siblings, from what he can tell from their interactions.
“Piet!” your call of his name and greeting is softer, as you pull said man into a hug and James Barnes swears his heart breaks in that moment. That guy, Pietro, pulls you into his jacket as you laugh in a way Bucky has never heard before and he knows he won’t stand watching this for the rest of the night.
“I gotta go,” he desperately murmurs to Sam, completely ignoring all the strange stares he’s receiving.
“But, the party just started,”Sam tries to stop him, as he sees you all being introduced to the rest of the group after the little display,“ Oh, oh . You don’t even know how they know each other, Barnes. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket again.”
“It seems pretty obvious,” James declares without listening to anything else, as he walks over to the entrance, puts on his winter coat, and exits the bar. Sam groans in frustration.
After the dramatic entrance, you and Wanda get to pull Pietro to your table for a moment and get his explanation. He had finished his thesis work early and felt homesick so he boarded the first plane with a connection to New York. He lost part of his luggage along the way, but was lucky enough to have met Thor on the last flight back. You were just happy he was all right after all that. After Carol and Vision welcome him back, you pull him to the side for a moment alone.
“What’s wrong, princess?” he smiles, though curious over what you had to talk over since he knew it only came around when you were highly stressed or lonely.
“We really need to talk later, about…” you end your sentence shyly, which causes him to raise an eyebrow, sure you look a little worn out but there was another glow to you that he had never seen before. Pietro, as your cloest confident, and fought over that title Wanda from time to time, was curious over the changes he had missed.
“About what?” He asks.
“I had another nervous breakdown,” you explain. He frowns, but the smile on your face tells him a different story, “And there might be a new friend, I’m not so sure about the last part though.”
“Well, you’ll have to tell me later, about everything.”
Later into the night, both groups have gathered together, even Natasha and her boyfriend had arrived much to your delight, and you introduced them to Carol and Wanda. The whole group is trading stories as more connections are revealed to you, like how Bucky and Steve knew Clinton through different classes but they didn’t all become friends until the ‘archery incident.’ Natasha and Clint were close friends and she had even introduced him to Laura, he had only recently returned the favor. You talked about being roommates with Carol in college, Vision meeting Wanda through her, and the trouble Pietro put everyone through.
“So how do you guys know each other?” Steve questions, as he looks at you sitting between the twins like it’s your god-given place in the world, though the man wants to confirm something for someone more than anything else.
“We’ve been friends since high school,” Wanda explains, as she goes into the story of them transferring to your school during your last year, and the strange incidents that followed. Whether it was getting hit by a tennis ball or flooding the girls’ bathroom, when you were around one of the twins during the first few weeks of school.
“She’s like an annoying little sister to us,” Pietro grins, as he grabs you by the shoulders in half-hug while you laugh.
“Goddamnit Bucky,” Sam curses in the background as Steve sighs.

fic: Meet Me Under the Spotlight - Part II
Rating: PG-13 Word Count: ~5800 Characters: Steve/Natasha and the ensemble Summary: A continuation of that celebrity social media au no one asked for.
A/N: I hesitated about revisiting this story because the format was so unique and it flowed incredibly well and I wasn’t sure if I could replicate that. Also, in terms of the universe itself, I wasn’t sure what story I wanted to tell next that would still be fun to read through social media. With that said, I thought about it a lot and had so many things I wanted to add and other characters I wanted to include. I just planned on revisiting this ‘verse through headcanons or blurbs for you darlings, but I took another crack at it instead, and I had just as much fun writing it this time as I did the first time!
By the way, I’ve officially dubbed this ‘verse the Marvelous ‘verse. Because I will be coming back to it.

‘Marvelous’ Season Finale Recap: “How the Mighty Fall”
May 25, 2017. 8:12 AM PST
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains plot details from the Marvelous season three finale, episode twenty-two, “How the Mighty Fall,” below.
Let’s start by getting this out there: no, we’re still not over it. And with three whole months between now and when Marvelous is scheduled to start filming Season 4, we’re sure the tears won’t stop flowing for a while.
Last night’s episode was the culmination of every heartbreaking fight we had to endure between our heroes, and every hasty action they took came back full circle with a sucker punch to our hearts! This was the lowest point the series has come to yet, and even after watching an entire season of everything falling apart, we still didn’t expect it to happen in such a spectacular fashion.
We’ll be back to get into the gory details soon, but in case you were too caught up in your tears to follow every minute of the finale, here are the highlights:
Black Widow’s betrayal that sent fans into a rage at the end of last week’s episode - episode twenty-one, “A Butterfly in a Web” - turned out to be for good reasons. Which we never doubted, but did you have to take such a hard shot at the Captain to do it?
Evidently, yes. Because not only did the Captain realize too little too late that she was protecting him, but his initial abandonment of her after their fallout ended in grave consequences. He barely makes it to her in time before she can bleed out to death, and when she wakes up, she has no recollection of anything. Not of what happened to her, not of betraying him, and not of anything that has to do with the Team at all. We’re not sure exactly how far this memory loss goes, but it was very clear from her confused and shaken expression when she wakes up that it’s pretty grim. And now that she’s without her memories, the Captain is more lost than ever. Guess it takes temporarily (hopefully temporarily?) losing every precious moment together to put things into perspective.
The escalating tension between Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch is irony at its finest: Quicksilver has spent the entire season as the overprotective older brother to Scarlet Witch, which unfortunately meant that Scarlet Witch has spent the entire season feeling sheltered and suffocated. She finally gets what she wants - a chance to put her newfound control over her powers to work, without Quicksilver hovering over her shoulder - and that left her open to being kidnapped. Understandably, Scarlet Witch could have avoided this with her eyes closed and both hands tied, but she had a little something else to deal with:
The Winter Soldier and Falcon, who have had no love lost between them this season, are quite literally at each other’s throats when they join Scarlet Witch to investigate a lead that takes them into the mountains to sniff out a secret bunker. Their fight last night had been the biggest and ugliest yet, and as expected, they don’t realize how gravely it would cost them until Scarlet Witch - too wrapped up in trying to keep them from killing each other - is snatched from under their noses. And no, it wasn’t the thing they needed to come to some kind of truce. If anything, it only made things worse.
Hawkeye and Thor had left in the previous episode to follow a lead of their own, and as expected, they also run into a nasty baddie of their own. And the blowout was far more fatal than you could imagine. When Agent 13 and Agent Hill were finally able to find them and bring them back to the safety of the Facility, they realized that Thor’s powers were completely gone - so it looks as if healing his eye isn’t something that will happen soon - and Hawkeye is in a coma.
Looks like we’ll need to stock up on tissues for now, because with no indication about how things will end up for another few months, we’re left with broken heroes and even more broken hearts.
What scene was the biggest tearjerker for you? Let us know in the comments below!

Just In: ‘Marvelous’ star Natasha Romanoff appears on The Late Night Show, drops exclusive Season 4 teaser trailer (September 28, 2017)
Everything You Need to Know About the ‘Marvelous’ Season 4 Teaser Trailer
September 29, 2017. 12:55 AM PST
Last week the Marvelous official Twitter announced that the show’s teaser trailer would not be included in the CW sizzle reel due to “production complications”, much to the disappointment of us Marvels everywhere. Little did we know that not only were we still getting that teaser, but we were getting it an entire week early!
When Natasha Romanoff dropped by The Late Night Show last night, it seemed like a typical guest appearance. But we should have known something was up when, just hours before airtime, the Marvelous cast and crew posted tweets upon tweets encouraging fans to tune in, then took to Instagram to post photos of the entire gang gathered in Nick Fury’s penthouse apartment to watch the show. We know this cast and crew love to show their support for each other, but all this seemed like a lot of fuss over a simple talk show appearance, right?
So. Wrong.
“I was so sure I’d get her to dish about her trip,” Peter Quill shared after the show, referring to the Hawaiian vacation where Natasha Romanoff and co-star Steve Rogers seemed to be closer and cozier than ever. Photos of the couple out and about across the islands had made fans swoon over their screens, but not nearly as much as the incredibly intimate photo the pair had posted to Twitter themselves! But if we thought that Peter Quill would finally get the scoop we all wanted, we were mistaken. “I was prepared for every trick Nat could’ve thrown my way except for this one!” Quill had laughed. “I still want answers, but, come on! How could you top that surprise?”
In case you’ve been living under a rock -- or if you want to watch it a few dozen more times like we have -- then here’s the Marvelous Season 4 Teaser Trailer that Natasha surprised the world with last night.
...Couldn’t get the video to load? Don’t worry, we’ve got all 1:15 minutes of it broken down:
We start with a black screen, and the Captain narrating: “When I woke up, they told us we’d won. That the war was over.”
Flashes of scenes in quick succession: Hawkeye in an infirmary bed connected to tubes, bandaging wrapped around his eyes; Scarlet Witch screaming, hands pressed to her head; the Winter Soldier and Falcon on a snowy mountain, both doubled over, blood on the snow; Agent 13 throwing Iron Man’s helmet across the room, nearly hitting Agent Hill’s head as it cracks against the wall.
Black Widow standing in her room, her back to the camera as she reaches for something on the desk, fading into a shot of the Captain watching her from the doorway as his narration continues: “But they didn’t tell me what we’d lost.”
Thor and Quicksilver in the training room, Quicksilver grabbing Thor’s arm and yanking him back as he says, “We have to go after her!” with Thor curtly replying, “If we do, she’s as good as dead.”
Scarlet Witch gathering her energy between her palms, her eyes glowing as men in the foreground aim their rifles; a quick second of nothing, then a shot of a bunker in the snowy mountains erupting into a red explosion, fading into a scene of Falcon and Winter Soldier watching it collapse from afar.
Agent Hill, Agent 13, and Hawkeye (his eyes still wrapped in bandaging) standing over a holographic table as Agent 13, clearly distraught, asks, “All that sacrifice and we only put a Band-Aid on the problem?” Agent Hill answers with, “Maybe, and it’s going to be for nothing if we can’t fix this,” to which Hawkeye scoffs and replies, “Look at us. We can’t even fix ourselves.”
An ominous shot of the cube-like form of energy used to seal Thor’s powers within it, currents of electricity sparking out from its core; then Thor wincing in pain before hurling a weight across the training room.
Black Widow and the Captain standing close together as she hesitantly reaches up to touch his face; then the Captain sitting on his bed, head down, as Black Widow kneels in front of him and asks, “Tell me what to do to help,” to which the Captain replies in a strained voice, “I don’t know.”
Scarlet Witch in the snow, surrounded by the debris of the exploded laboratory, and then the Winter Soldier lifting her into his arms as she tucks her face into his chest, her entire body shaking.
Falcon pressing a kiss to Agent 13′s hair as she closes her eyes, his voice playing over the scene: “So how do we do this?”
Then Falcon and Agent 13 startling as someone enters the room, Iron Man emerging from the doorway with his arm in a sling and a bruise on his cheek. A quick cut to Agent 13 crying as she throws her arms around Iron Man, his voice playing over the scene: “We start with my least favorite thing to do.”
Cut to black, with Iron Man finishing his dialogue: “We ask for help.”
Then a close-up shot of purple light passing over someone’s skin and dissolving into a black, textured material as it spreads. This figure turns around, revealing a complete shot of his high-tech, full-bodied, cat-like suit; then he glances up at the ceiling as another figure -- slighter and smaller in stature, in a blue-and-red suit with a spider across his chest -- repels from the ceiling, landing on his feet.
Best. Teaser. EVER.
And with Marvelous not returning until December, it’ a good thing that we Marvels know how to keep ourselves busy. Bring on the theories!

Happy Halloween! ‘Marvelous’ Treats Fans with More Insight on Upcoming Season
October 31, 2017. 8:25 AM PST.
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains on-set stills from Season 4 of Marvelous.
When we were kids, we gorged on candy for Halloween. Now, we gorge on spoilers!
(But candy would still be appreciated.)
This morning, the Marvelous official Twitter announced that they had a little something special for us Marvels on the show’s official site, and they did not disappoint! Not only were we treated to on-set photos -- confirmed to have been from the start of filming back in August -- but we were also given the official synopses of the first three episodes!
Bonus: none of scenes shown seem to be related to the scenes teased in the trailer.
Can you say, “more spoilers”?

But wait: there’s MORE!
IN SOMNIS VERITAS - Season 4, Episode 1
As the Captain (Steve Rogers) struggles to deal with Black Widow’s (Natasha Romanoff) memories being lost, Agent Hill (Maria Hill) tries to pick up the pieces of the Team’s latest fallout, especially as Thor (Thor Odinson) starts to spiral without his powers and Hawkeye (Clint Barton) remains in a coma. Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) and Falcon (Sam Wilson) fear that their time to rescue Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) may be running out.
THE DARKEST NIGHT - Season 4, Episode 2
Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) realizes that her powers are fluctuating due to the experiments performed by her still-unnamed abductor (guest star Edwin Jarvis), which she fears will have catastrophic side effects. Elsewhere, as extraterrestrial weapons continue to move between counties, Agent 13 (Sharon Carter) urges the Team to take action. Realizing the distress she’s causing the Captain (Steve Rogers), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) asks him to help jog her memories.
BEFORE DAWN - Season 4, Episode 3
With the Captain (Steve Rogers) opening up to her and the Team reunited once more, Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) starts to get flashes of what she believes are her lost memories, though she hesitates to tell anyone. Meanwhile, the return of the Director (writer/producer, guest star Nick Fury) gives Agent Hill (Maria Hill) a new push to rally and regroup, while the arrival of Black Panther (T’challa T’chaka) and Spider-Man (Peter Parker) gives the Team the motivation to move forward.
While we now have a little insight on what to expect from the start of the season, we’re still wondering about those wedding photos posted by the cast back in August. Is it a dream? An illusion? A flash-forward?
Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

AE! Exclusive: Spoilers Straight from the Cast of ‘Marvelous’
November 14, 2017. 8:02 AM PST
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains plot details from the season premiere of Marvelous.
(If any of you Marvels successfully resisted the urge to continue reading, know that we are incredibly impressed.)
That’s right, Marvels. With the Season 4 premiere just a month away, Access Entertainment! received an exclusive invitation to visit the set. And while we were there, we sat down with some of the cast and crew to squeeze out juicy details on what to expect from the upcoming premiere.
(WATCH: Access Entertainment’s Entire First Look from the Set of ‘Marvelous’)
Ready for the spoilers? Yeah, neither were we.
1. The premiere will center around the theme of dreams, and Steve Rogers (playing the Captain) shares that the entire episode should be an emotional roller-coaster. Ready your tissues, Marvels.
STEVE ROGERS: There’s a very blurred line between dreams and nightmares and that’s something the premiere really plays on. We shot two or three, sometimes even four versions of the same dream scenes that were so tonally different from each other. There are really low points but there are really high points, too, and it’s just one of those things you know will have that punch and then keep on punching.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: And we’re guessing one of the Captain’s dreams must involve Natasha [Romanoff, playing Black Widow] in that gorgeous wedding dress all over Instagram?
ROGERS: [laughs] That was actually the very first scene we shot of the season. We read the script together, so we knew it was coming, just not when. But it’s the first day, and we’re all in tuxes and gowns and they’ve got us in this beautiful church set. And I didn’t even see Nat in her dress until we started filming. Nick [Fury, the show’s writer/producer] still won’t admit it but I’m sure that was intentional.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: How romantic!
ROGERS: Yeah, don’t let the guy fool you. He’s just a big softie.
2. We’ll pick up right where the finale left off. Which means throwing salt onto all those wounds that still haven’t healed; their wounds AND ours.
SHARON CARTER [playing Agent 13]: You can watch the finale and then the premiere back-to-back and it’ll sort of be one extended episode. That’s the idea. We put these characters through every circle of hell and back and we don’t want to just jump forward and make you fill in the gaps. We take you with us every step of their emotional journey like we always have, and I can’t share anything, of course, but it doesn’t take long for them to start bouncing back. It’s sort of our way of saying, ‘Hey, we broke your hearts and made you wait half a year because we suck but now you’ll reap the rewards.’
3. After watching an entire season of our heroes falling apart, we can look forward to them coming back together stronger than ever. It’s no secret that watching episode after episode of our heroes fighting among each other was heartbreaking. But Wanda [Maximoff, playing Scarlet Witch] dished that this won’t be the case for the upcoming season.
WANDA MAXIMOFF: You won’t have to worry about us being at each other’s throats nearly as much anymore. When you hit rock bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up!
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Thank goodness!
MAXIMOFF: I know! [laughs] It’s always fun to play those kinds of scenes, you know? They’re very raw and real, and it’s cathartic but in a very safe way to channel all your emotions and let them out. But it’s still draining. We were all so tired from “fighting” with each other by the time we wrapped. We looked forward to having a little fun again and Nick absolutely gave us that
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: So we can expect a lot more smiles this season? Maybe even a few laughs?
MAXIMOFF: Absolutely! The first few episodes will deal with the aftermath of the finale, of course. You don’t just sweep that under the rug. But everyone has suffered so much individually, this season you’ll see them lean on each other to heal. At the core, they have a bond you can’t really fit into one type of mold and it’ll be what helps them turn things around.
4. This season will explore the dynamics between our characters in ways we thought we could only dream of. Which means, yes, Marvels. They are in fact listening.
MAXIMOFF: You’ll see characters share scenes together that didn’t have much interaction outside of the group before, and you’ll see relationships in new lights. Iron Man [played by Tony Stark] and Quicksilver [played by Pietro Maximoff] got off to a rocky start, and they’re in a civil place now, but you’ll see them develop a genuine friendship. Iron Man will really pull through for Quicksilver and that finally gives them some common ground. Agent Hill [played by Maria Hill] and Thor [played by Thor Odinson] have always butt heads here or there because they’re just so different. They’re almost the last duo you’d expect to come together and that’s the beauty of it. They end up leaning on each other and it’s beautiful. All of these odd, new dynamics will get their own spotlights and it’s so much fun.
There’s even some role reversal in key relationships. Like with Hawkeye [played by Clint Barton]. He was an important mentor to Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and now with his condition he’ll turn to them for guidance. And with Black Widow, she really built up Scarlet Witch and helped her become confident in her abilities and now Scarlet Witch will get to return the favor. She’ll be there to help Black Widow get back on her feet. She becomes Black Widow’s biggest confidant, and that will be such a strong thing for Scarlet Witch, who is in a dark place at the start of the season. These more intimate moments - they’ve been my favorite to film so far.
5. Newcomers Black Panther (played by T’challa T’chaka) and Spider-Man (played by Peter Parker) won’t take long to join the fray. We learned that we won’t be seeing them in the premiere, but at least we won’t have to wait much longer! It’s confirmed that Black Panther and Spider-Man will make their debuts before the end of the second episode.
T’CHALLA T’CHAKA: I was surprised to learn during the table read that Nick wasted no time introducing us. He had us involved from the very first day of filming, even though Peter and I would traditionally not have been called to  the set just yet. We were very much included between takes. You would think coming onto a show of this magnitude, joining a cast so established - that would be an intimidating thing, you’d think. But as soon as I got the part everyone reached out to me on their own. We talked, not always about the show. I felt a fast connection. So when Peter and I were watching that first scene being filmed, when Natasha and Steve recited those vows, we were hit just as hard as everyone else. I choked up. I don’t mind sharing that, I’m not heartless. [laughs]
6. There’s a very good chance that every (well, ALMOST every) character that has crossed our heroes’ paths will make a reappearance before the end of the season. At least, it seems that way.
SAM WILSON [playing Falcon]: I’m just making guesses here, but with the way these last three months have gone, it’s probably a good guess. I think we’re somewhere between episodes nine and ten right now and we’ve already brought so many faces back. Sometimes we’ll walk onto a set or get rewrites, and we’ve brought back someone we thought had been written off definitively, and in these cool twists you won’t expect.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Any names you can hint at?
WILSON: Nah! No, don’t get me in trouble. [laughs] I can’t even hint at anything, but - trust me, it’ll be good. Fans will be excited to revisit these characters and see these shout-outs to old subplots. Some of it will be tying up loose ends, some of it’s just plain fun. Nick’s even got plans to have every guest director come back for an episode if scheduling works out. Don’t worry, I was allowed to share that. I asked. But Peggy [Carter] is already coming back for the mid-season finale and I think they’ve talked about her having a bigger hand in the second half of the season.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Oh, that’s exactly what we wanted to hear. She’s been involved in those episodes that make me swoon every time!
WILSON: Yeah, she knows how to tug on those heart-strings. She and Nick sat down, I think it was the middle of Season 2. But she and Nick sat us all down and we went around and said where we thought our characters would be in a few seasons and what we wanted for them. And it was all domestic. [laughs] No matter how crazy the world is, those same basic dreams are at our core, you know? And those are Peggy’s favorite stories to tell. Old romantics will be very happy with the intimate moments we fit into these episodes. It’ll be good. Real good.
7. Speaking of intimate: “It’s a very romantic season,” Bucky [Barnes, playing the Winter Soldier] shares. Cue squeals!
BARNES: Obviously the tone of the series will still be there, we don’t deviate into some kind of romantic drama. But you’ve seen the highs and lows of all these relationships, you’ve seen these characters go through so much and now they’ve earned this happiness. It’s a big turning point for our favorite couples, and rather than “will they, won’t they” you get to see them as a unit. That’s kind of the theme of this whole season, “us against the world,” whether it’s couples or friendships or the Team. It’s a great message.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Can you give us any hints?
BARNES: I wish I could, I really do. We just - we’re all having such a hard time biting our tongues. Each script is better and better and we want to share that with everyone, we want them to be excited with us. But I promise you, if you’ve sat through the last three years with your fingers crossed it’ll pay off. We almost jump the gun in a sense, because it goes from this slow burn to just diving head-first and it’s so satisfying. Even for myself, as a fan of this story and these characters, I see how far everything has come and I just get all tingly. [laughs] It’s great.
Well, there you have it!
It seems like this season will be the most emotional one yet, and luckily for us it sounds like it won’t be of the heart-breaking variety. Hopefully.

BUCKY’S POV
“Steve, we have to find her.”
“We will, but we need to figure out who has her first.”
“It’s obviously HYDRA.”
“No, it’s not. Y/N was in the army, she’s bound to have made enemies. We’ve called Agent Hill and she’s going to bring in Y/N’s file.”
“Don’t we have a copy of her file?”
“We have the redacted version.”
“What was so bad that they would have to redact her file?”
“You’re guess is as good as mine.”
But as we waited for Agent Hill to show up, I started going through all of the files that we had on HYDRA: any possible locations, known associates, anything that could possibly tell me why they would take Y/N.
Of course, my first thought would always be that they took her because of me. Maybe they took her because we were getting closer or at least I thought we had been…
“Then why don’t you?” I heard her ask me. At first I thought I had imagined it, so it took me a minute to react to her. I looked her in the eyes, looking for any sign that she actually didn’t want this and when I didn’t find anything but hope in her eyes, I  stepped forward, grabbed her face in my hands and moved to kiss her.
But before my lips could reach hers we were interrupted by Steve and Sam walking down the hallway.
She pulled away from me and we both took in a deep breath.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you.” She whispered before she turned and walked away.
I watched her as she walked away from me and it took me a second to realize what I was about to do. I liked Y/N, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to screw around with what we had.
“So what was that about?” Sam asked, sounding exactly like he was mocking me.
“You guys are seriously the worst.”
I stormed off towards the elevator and tried to push the button for my floor, hoping it would close before Steve caught up to me. But I was wrong.
He walked into the elevator and stood right next to me as the doors closed.
“So…” Steve started.
“I really don’t want to talk about it.”
“I can tell that you really like her.”
“It doesn’t matter if I like her.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’ll never know for sure.” I looked down at my arm and back up at the door. “She doesn’t deserve that.”
“Bucky, there had to be a reason that the numbers never counted down…maybe they didn’t because she hadn’t been born yet.”
“Don’t you think that I thought of that? I’m saying that there’s no way to know, not with this anyway.” I lifted my metal arm so that he could see what I was talking about. The doors opened on our floor and I walked out first, not in the least expecting him to stay in the elevator.
“But you have the numbers and you know the day you met and I’m sure we could even figure out a specific time from the cameras.” He said, catching up to me.
“Steve—”
“And we can look up when she was born from her file.”
“I don’t want to know.”
“You don’t want to know?”
“No. I’ve thought of looking before, I wanted to connect the dots…”
“But?”
“But if she isn’t…my soulmate…I think it would be worse than thinking that she could be. I like Y/N and she seems to like me too, even if she doesn’t like me like that. I just like being around her and now she’s talking to me again, so I don’t want you stepping in and looking into this.”
“What if I said that Y/N was asking about you.”
“Asking what?”
“About you.” I glared at him. “Just simple things, like what you used to be like and what kind of things you liked.”
“She really asked that about me?”
“Yes.”
“Well you’re still not going to change my mind. The only thing I care about is getting to stay close to her, I enjoy her company and I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize that.”
“Like kissing her?”
“That was heat of the moment and not that I didn’t want to, but it could have confused things. She means too much to me, so we’re going to keep things the way they are…right?”
“Whatever you say.”
“Thank you.”
The next time I saw Y/N we didn’t speak of the kiss…the almost kiss. So instead we completely ignored any feelings and spent the next couple of months becoming close friends.
We never argued again, at least not like we did. We fought over things, but more like where to go out for lunch or who was the better driver. And getting over our deepest secrets seemed to have made us more comfortable around each other because we told each other everything. Neither of us held anything back.
That being said, it was very easy for me to fall in love with her. I know that I had told Steve that I just wanted to remain friends with her, but every time I spoke to her or saw her smile or made her laugh, it was like my heart grew a little more for her, like it was trying to make more room to love her more. And it was driving me absolutely insane.
I just wanted to touch her, to hold her, do anything but sit there and wish that I could. But I would never tell anyone this, especially Steve. And unfortunately not Y/N either.
I sat and stared at the screen, I had pulled up my file…seeing if maybe there was someone to cross both of our paths. But the longer that I stared at the pictures of what I had done, the longer I spent convincing myself that this was my fault, that I didn’t deserve someone as good as Y/N.
“Don’t do that to yourself.” I heard Steve say from behind me.
“Do what?”
“Blame yourself.”
“I don’t care what’s in her file, I know that this was HYDRA and I know that I’m involved somehow.”
“If you are then you know that, if I let you go to rescue her, it could be a trap.”
“If you let me?”
“I have to consider things, like the fact that I know you would give yourself back to them if it meant getting Y/N back.”
“No I would just kill them all.”
“Bucky, if that’s what you plan to do than I really can't—”
“Steve, I wasn’t serious.”
“Well don’t say things like that then.”
“I am very serious, though, about getting Y/N back, so I would advise that you don’t pull me off of this.”
“Bucky—”
“Don’t Steve.”
“Fine. I just came to tell you that Agent Hill should be here now.”
“Great, let’s find her.”
I followed Steve into the conference room where the whole team now sat, Agent Hill at the head.
“Let’s get started.” She said, handing out copies of Y/N’s unredacted file.
“Sergeant First Class Y/F/N Y/L/N. Born in Y/C/N, Y/S or C/N on September 21, 1989. She enlisted when she turned 18 and has been in the army until about 3 years ago, when she was honorably discharged. When she got back to the states, she had a few jobs, but none of them stuck and she never had a permanent address after she returned. A year later she reenlisted and was immediately deployed overseas. Now, the event to lead to her final discharge and quite possibly the reason she was taken. Her last mission, was an eight month stay in Vietnam. Now, I was able to get most of her file cleared up but this mission is top secret, it was even need to know to Y/N’s unit which is why she got all those cool moves, because they had so much free time waiting for orders.” We all smiled a bit thinking about how awesome Y/N’s moves were. “So unfortunately I don’t have all of the details, but I do know what happened. Y/N and her unit were ordered to storm a warehouse that was believed to have connections to a terrorist’s cell. But when they got inside it turned out to be a group of HYDRA agents. Unfortunately they shot and killed any of the soldiers who resisted, then relocated the remaining soldiers and tortured them. We had been notified of the kidnappings and the belief that HYDRA had been involved so we sent in Tony, Wanda, and Clint to aid in the rescue of her unit. When they got there Y/N was the only survivor and barely at that.” Flipping through the files there were tons of pictures of what she had looked like after she had been rescued. I tried my hardest to be objective, to work this mission like every other one but seeing her like that, barely breathing and beaten so bad to cause them to put her in a medically induced coma, it just broke my heart.
“So what? HYDRA’s mad that one soldier was rescued despite the fact that they brought down an entire military elite squad? No they don’t think like that, they do things by the big picture. Y/N was one soldier.” I said, clearly upset.
“I wasn’t finished. We all know Y/N, she’s a fighter. That being said, they planned on killing her with everyone else. But she found a way out, was making a run for it and she killed a HYDRA agent in the process. They got to her before she could completely escape and they kept her alive so that they could avenge the guy she killed.”
“But we can’t assume that HYDRA just randomly found out where she was and decided to take her now.” Steve commented.
“Yes we can. She killed one of them, they don’t leave any loose ends.” I confirmed.
“Then we also have to assume that this was a way for them to get you back. You’re a loose end too.”
“Did Y/N have any other enemies, beside HYDRA?” Tony asked, stopping the banter between us.
“No. She was one of the best soldiers, she was highly decorated and she was respectable to everyone.”
“Y/N can have a short temper, maybe she upset someone.” I wanted to believe that this wasn’t HYDRA despite every alarm in my head telling me that it was.
“You know, she’s only like that with people she likes.” She smiled at me and everyone else kind of snickered.
“This isn’t about me. We need to focus on finding Y/N. If she’s with HYDRA and they did all of this to her the first time, then it’s bound to be worse this time.”
“Well they may keep her alive if they want you to come for her.”
“Let’s hope so.”
I grabbed my file and left the conference room, not wanting to talk about HYDRA anymore. But what I had missed was Agent Hill telling the team that she knew a few new possible locations in the states. It wasn’t the surest process for locating a missing Agent but we figured that if they were trying to draw me out, they wouldn’t be hiding very hard which meant they were probably close. It was a hunch, but it was better than sitting around.
So we all climbed into the jet and headed to the closest location on the list. WE didn’t have much of a plan other than get in and get out as fast as possible. I don’t think that anyone had been in the mood to wait any longer, not with HYDRA’s reputation.
I sat in the back of the jet, furthest away from everyone, trying to keep my mind off of those pictures, off the way they had found her before. I think that everyone could feel how nervous I was because as long as we spent in that jet, no one came up to me not even Steve.
We landed right outside of what looked like an abandoned building, but knowing too much about HYDRA, I knew that once we got inside we would find a sophisticated operation. So we split up into teams and took separate sections of the building, promising to notify the other teams if we had found anything. So Steve and I walked around the building, making sure to check all of the rooms, even if they were locked and avoiding all HYDRA personnel or taking out any we couldn’t.
“Hey Steve, I think we’ve got something.” We heard Nat say over her com and we rushed off to where Nat and Wanda were assigned.
As we got closer to their area we could see exactly where the “sophistication” stopped and the old abandoned building continued. The rooms down here looked a lot like operation rooms, which was strange since this building looked nothing like a hospital. Nat and Wanda had taken out the few Agents who had been guarding the area, which gave us free reign to check all of the rooms knowing full well that this type of space would be exactly where the would keep prisoners. So we checked all of the rooms until I came across the only one that had been occupied.
Then the whole world seemed to slow down…
I stood in the doorway, obviously seeing her strapped to the chair.
I tried to unsee the things that they had done to her. I closed my eyes, hoping to get the image out of my head, but when I opened them again, she was still there, looking just as beaten as before. The room was empty, she was alone.
I tried to say something, I tried to open my mouth to let the others know, but it was like my lungs didn’t work anymore, it was like I had forgotten how to breath. It felt like forever, but air filled my lungs once again and where function lacked, pain and fear took over.
I tried moving towards her but it felt as if my femur no longer fit in the Acetabulum, my humerus no long rolled in the glenoid cavity, like I was just a torso, with no way to move. It was like I had ghost limbs, a feeling that I had come too familiar with what seemed like a million years ago.
I tried to think of someway to help her, you would think that after seventy plus years of elite training, I would know what to do. But my brain was stuck in an endless loop of what ifs and pictures of what had happened before.
I tried to feel… but my heart stopped.
I tried to hear something coming from her, a breath, a sign of life. But the only thing I heard was someone calling after me or someone trying to get my attention.
And in that moment, I snapped back to reality, where everything was a lot faster and wasn’t in second by second snapshots.
“Bucky!” I heard Steve yell from where he stood next to Nat and Wanda.
I looked at them and when I saw the concern on their faces it was as if everything that had just happened to me vanished and the only thing that mattered was getting Y/N to safety.
I walked over to the chair and took in a deep breath pushing down all of the reservations and terrible thoughts flying through my head.
“Y/N?” No response. I looked at her…really looked at her. Most of the skin that I could see was badly bruised and they must have been looking for some information because she had a few broken fingers.  Honestly I had expected worse, which made me suspicious…
Steve and Nat started to remove her restraints and I moved to pick her up, putting my metal arm under her neck and my flesh hand under her knees.
“No, no, no!” I tired to pick her up, but she fought against me. So instead of picking her up, I just pulled her into my arms and keeping her as close to me as I could without hurting her.
“Y/N, hey it’s me.” I said right into her ear, where she would hear me. “I’m here to take you home. You’re safe now.”
“Bucky?” She whispered. I don’t think she was able to see me but she could hear me.
“You’re safe now.” I went to pick her up again but this time she let me and then we walked out of the room and towards the front of the building where we would get back on the jet. We tried our hardest to avoid people, go through the places that the team had already cleared that way we knew that no people of importance had been notified of an attack or rescue.
Y/N buzzed in and out of consciousness and yet she was trying her hardest to tell me something.
“Stop.” I stopped walking and looked at her, giving her a minute to respond. The team stopped as soon as they saw I had. “Bucky…wait it’s a trap.”
“I know.” I said, finally coming to terms with what was most likely going to happen when we tried to step out the front doors.
“Then why’d you come?”
“I couldn’t leave my girl behind.”
The thing about this mission that had me thrown off was the fact that there was no other prisoners in the building except for Y/N. If this had been an actual HYDRA facility the place would have been crawling with Agents and they would have been doing terrible experiments to people and we would have had a lot harder time getting in.
I know that they must have had a plan, they wouldn’t have just let her go unless they had a plan and not knowing that plan made me all the more nervous.
I decided to push away those thought for now and just worked on getting Y/N back to the jet.
As we got closer to the jet, more and more Agents made their way to us and it started becoming harder to fight off the advances. At least with just the four of us.
Tony, Clint, Sam and Vision found there way into our fight which gave me the perfect opportunity to make a break for the jet.
I got to the jet and saw Agent Hill standing at the entrance waiting for me to bring in Y/N. I climbed up the ramp and laid Y/N down on the bench and she started to look at Y/N to see if there was anything that couldn’t wait to be addressed.
But as we sat there trying to help Y/N we both had been completely oblivious to the man that was behind this all climbing onto the jet.
“I knew you would come for her.” I quickly turned to face the man who had a gun pointed at us, using my body to shield both Agent Hill and Y/N.
“What do you want?”
“You.”
I looked at the man’s face as closely as I could. I felt like I had met him before, it wasn’t a long shot that I had, but he was dressed as a scientist and god knows there were plenty of those operating on me at any given point.
“I did all of this to draw you here, I saw you in New York…with her. I had to get you here, to my lab.”
“Are you part of HYDRA?” I asked, not completely convinced now that this guy was actually one of them. As much as I wanted to believe the guards were, they were a little too easy to take down, where HYDRA would have had them trained better.
“They never believed me when I told them that I could draw out the Winter Soldier. But I was going to find you, even if it was the last thing I ever did.” I took a good look at the man as he talked about something that I stopped listening to, I think it was something about HYDRA but I noticed what may have caused Y/N kidnapping.
“You’re an amputee.” I said, interrupting him. I saw the signs of a limp as he moved around, pacing out of nervousness.
“Yes. I want to replicate the science of that arm. I broke into Stark Industries, I tried to take the one that you didn’t need anymore, but I failed. So I reached out to a member of HYDRA, knowing that they would have the file I needed. Of course they thought I was crazy saying that the only person who could replicate the mechanics of that arm was dead.”
“But you weren’t convinced and you made a plan to draw me out.”
“And you’re here.”
Ignoring the gun that he had pointed at what just seemed like me, I stalked him and wrapped my metal hand around his throat, suspending him in the air.
“You took an innocent women, beat and tortured her, because you wanted the technology behind an arm that has killed hundreds of people? You have played around with HYDRA and you have messed with my friends—”
“Bucky…put him down.” I heard Steve say. I looked over at him as the rest of the team stood behind him. I dropped the man and moved his gun far enough away from him so that he couldn’t hurt anyone. And then I let the rest of the team take over so that I could go back over to Y/N.
Agent Hill put the scientist in handcuffs and was planning on taking him somewhere once we got back to New York. The team every so often would come to check on Y/N but nothing had changed since we had gotten her on the jet.
It didn’t take us long to get back to the facility and where we landing, it looked like there was a small group of medical help waiting for us so they could help Y/N. But as we got the doors open and we’re planning on moving her, Y/N grabbed my hand and started to whisper something. I moved closer to her so she didn’t have to work so hard to tell me what she needed to say.
“27:08:23:14:36.” She said with no problem at all.
But the only thing I could think of as they came into the jet, placed her on the stretcher and rolled her off to the medical ward, was how did she know my numbers?

STAR-CROSSED LOVERS (AN AU PETER PARKER IMAGINE) - PART TWO
Summary: One night at a party hosted by her father’s rival, Y/N meets Peter Parker and the two instantly connect. However, she has no idea that he’s the intern of Tony Stark, the rival.
Gender: Female
Notes: BALCONY SCENE!!! I was so excited to write that, aha, and I tried my best to fit in a version of “A rose by another name would smell as sweet” so I hope you can recognise which line that is.
This is queued for while I’m away. The third part will be up when I return home.
{REQUESTS ARE OPEN}
When you returned home your dad was waiting for you in the living room, an angry glare on his face. Between leaving the party and arriving home, Happy, Tony’s assistant, had called him up and told him about the situation and he was now livid. You had gotten a lecture, about how disappointed he was in you and how he’d expect this from Clint, even Wanda to some extent, but he thought you knew better. It hurt you knowing he was let down at what you’d done, especially since you didn’t originally want to go in the first place, but the fact that you’d met Peter there you couldn’t regret it. You knew it was wrong to fall for one of your supposed enemies but it was impossible to find anything bad about him.
You finally escaped your dad with a punishment of being grounded for the weekend, and you checked your phone as you finally collapsed on your bed. Wanda had sent you a quick text saying she and Clint had gotten home safely, and she hoped Steve wasn’t too hard on you. You replied quickly, before shutting off your phone.
The only person your mind was Peter. What had Tony told him about you? You assumed he now knew who you were after what had happened, and you prayed to whatever was out there that it didn’t make him feel any different about you. It didn’t you for him. Of course you knew it would be hard, and you didn’t even know if you would see him again, but your feelings hadn’t changed. They would never.
You stepped out onto your bedroom’s balcony, looking out at the city skyline. Why did Peter have to be on Tony’s side? It had to be your luck that the person you fell for was meant to be your enemy. This shouldn’t even apply to you both anyway. The feud was between Tony and Steve, not you and Peter. If he was an intern to anyone else in the city, you would have none of these issues.
“Why must you intern for Tony Stark? You could pick any businessman in the city and it was him?” You spoke out loud to yourself, thinking you were alone. “If Peter was working for anyone else he would still be Peter, so why must who he’s working for matter?” You sighed, resting against the balcony wall. “I really wish I could see you again.”
“Then look down.”
You jumped in surprise, quickly leaning of the wall to see Peter on the sidewalk below.
“Peter? How did you find out where I live?”
“Ned’s very good with computers, he found it out.” Peter explained. You looked at him worriedly.
“Should I be worried that you can find my address online?”
“Oh, no! Ned had to do some hacking to find it.” Peter shrugged, as if hacking was no big deal. You laughed at the flippancy of the comment, this boy was adorable.
“There’s a fire escape just round the corner if you want to come up. It’s just a small jump from the platform at this level to this balcony.” You told him. Peter nodded and quickly made his way up to you.
Once Peter was stood in front of you on the balcony, he wasted no time in wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you towards him, kissing you deeply. Your arms wound themselves around his neck, hands tangling in his hair as you pushed yourself as close as possible. Even after knowing this boy for a few hours, kissing him felt like coming home, that enclosed in his arms was where you were meant to be.
“That’s certainly the best greeting I’ve ever had.” You laughed, breathlessly. Peter grinned, and you tugged him down to floor, sitting side by side against the wall, your knees touching. “I was worried you wouldn’t want to see me again.”
“Because of what happened?”
You nodded. “I don’t know what Tony told you about us, me, but I certainly know he would never allow this.”
“He told me about Steve, that you were his daughter, and that under no circumstances I was to have any connection to any of you.” Peter said and you looked away at the floor. Of course Tony said that, you knew this but a small part of you still had hope that it wouldn’t matter. “But that doesn’t mean I have to listen to him.”
“Yeah, well, my dad would also say the same thing and unfortunately, I don’t have the luxury of ignoring him.” You laughed bitterly. Peter cupped your cheek and turned you to face him.
“Then we don’t tell him. Either of them.” Peter decided. You were still slightly hesitant, knowing that if your dad ever found out then he would have Peter’s head on a platter. Literally. However, seeing Peter looking at you so longingly with such hope, you knew what your answer would be.
“Okay.”
Peter beamed. “Okay?”
“Okay.” You nodded, a grin creeping onto your face as well. Peter kissed you sweetly, all of the love and adoration between you pouring into this one kiss, and you giggled against his lips. You both knew it was risky, if anyone found out then you couldn’t imagine what would happen, but here in this moment you couldn’t find yourself to care.
“Can I see you this weekend?” Peter asked, and you sighed.
“I can’t. I’m grounded for the weekend because of the party tonight. I can on Monday.” Peter groaned, exaggeratedly. “It’s only two days you can manage.”
“I barely managed a few hours.” Peter said, sweetly. You pressed another quick kiss to his lips.
“Y/N?”
You both sprang apart, and you rushed into your bedroom, pushing your back against the door. “Don’t come in I’m not decent!”
Peter looked at you suggestively and you laughed quietly, rolling your eyes.
“You dad wants you in bed. It’s almost midnight.” Bucky relayed from the other side of the door.
“Okay!” You stayed pressed against the door, listening as Bucky moved away and once it was quiet you exhaled in relief. “You need to go. I’ll meet you in Central Park straight after I finish school.”
“I’ll be there.” Peter confirmed, and you held each other in a tight embrace before Peter jumped back over to the fire escape and made his descent back to the street. You watched him over the balcony, waving as he went out of view.
The Skype call connected, Wanda’s face popping onto your screen. It had been a few days since Peter turned up at your balcony, and ever since then you two had been texting constantly. You were still worried that your dad would find out but Peter constantly reassured you that you’d be careful, and suggested getting someone to be your alibi for when you were together if that helped.
That’s why you were on Skype to Wanda. You thought she would be the best option out of everyone to help, and the least likely to snitch on you to Steve. You also considered asking Clint but after the party you were unsure if Steve would trust him.
“How’s being grounded?” Wanda asked in greeting.
“Deal-able.” You shrugged. “How was Clint’s hangover and how was he after my dad got a hold of him?”
“Not deal-able.” Wanda laughed. “Your dad can be pretty scary when he wants to be, and Clint spent the entirety of yesterday morning bent over the toilet bowl.” You wrinkled your nose in disgust.
“Lovely.”
“Right? So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?” You texted Wanda that you needed to talk face-to-face a few hours earlier, not wanting to explain the situation over the phone. You quickly double-checked that your door was closed and neither your dad nor Bucky were within earshot.
“I’m seeing someone.”
Wanda let out a squeal. “Who is he? What’s he like? When did you meet?”
“That’s the issue.” You sighed. Just get it over with, Rogers, it’s like ripping off a band aid. “It’s Peter Parker, Tony’s new intern.”
“Are you serious? Your dad will murder him. I mean that literally.” Wanda warned, looking at you in concern.
“I know, and that’s why I need your help! I need you to be my alibi for when I’m with him. Tell my dad that you’re helping me with my studies if he asks or calls or something.” You pleaded. If Wanda didn’t agree to this, you didn’t know what you were going to do.
“Is this worth it? I mean, it seems like so much hard work to see a guy you’ve only just met.”
“It’s crazy, and I realise I’ve only just met him, but there’s something different about him.” You explained, a dreamy look developing on your face as you talked about him. “Whenever I’m with Peter, it feels like I’ve known him forever. It feels like coming home. I’ve only been with him twice and I feel more strongly for him than I have anyone else in my entire life.”
“You really want this, don’t you?” Wanda realised.
“So much.”
“Fine, I’ll help.” You immediately perked up at that, thanking her profusely. “Just promise me you’ll at least try and be careful.”
“I will, I swear.”
You spent the next hour planning with Wanda about how you were going work this. You decided on saying you were going over to Wanda’s apartment to either study or just hang out depending on what school work was like, and you would text Wanda the times and dates of when she needed to cover for you, as well as the cover story to use for that time.
As soon as school let out on Monday, you wasted no time in heading straight to Central Park as fast as you could, thankful that you had recently gotten your license. You found a spare bench in a secluded section of the park so you would be less likely to be spotted by someone who recognised either of you.
To Peter: I’m here, just up the path from the ice cream van.
To Y/N: A couple of minutes away. Can’t get there fast enough.
You smiled and pocketed your phone before leaning back on the bench, watching an old man across the way feeding the pigeons. He saw you watching and gave you a short wave which you returned.
A few minutes later and you saw Peter heading in your direction and you immediately grinned, waving at him as he jogged the last few steps over to you.
“Hey.” Peter said, sitting beside you and immediately engulfing you in his arms.
You guys stayed there talking and cuddling for what felt like only a few minutes but was actually a couple of hours. Every time you learnt something new about Peter, you fell for him just a little bit more. He told you about his Aunt May, Ned, who you learnt was his best friend since middle school ever since they bonded over Star Wars after Peter saw Ned’s Storm Trooper backpack, and how he loved science and photography.
In return, you told him all about yourself. Your favourite hobbies and how you met Steve six years ago when you were ten when you ran away from your current foster home and ended up at Sam’s Veteran Meeting in which Steve was attending. Steve escorted you back but by that point you had already latched onto him, the first person since your father abandoned you, and Steve knew he had to bring you back home with him. So he filed for adoption as soon as he could and few months later you were living in your current apartment with Bucky and him.
Peter also told you about his own parents. How they were often on missions for the CIA and often left him with his Aunt May, then one day they never returned after being killed on the job. The fact that it had been 10 years since that happened and even though he could barely remember them all that much he still loved and missed them dearly.
When it reached the time for you to leave, you and Peter knew each other so much more intimately, and you knew for certain that you were already falling in love with this boy. Before heading back to your car, you quickly grabbed a frozen yogurt from the store near the car park.
“I don’t understand how you can eat that much sugar.” You laughed, watching Peter tuck into a chocolate flavoured yogurt, with extra sprinkles, mini marshmallows and toffee sauce.
“It’s so good though!” Peter exclaimed around a mouthful of yogurt. You shook your head, taking a polite spoonful of your own raspberry flavoured one.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.” You smirked. Finally, you reached your car and you rested the tub on the roof as you turned around to say goodbye. “Are you sure you don’t want a ride home?”
Peter nodded. “It’ll be safer for me to just catch the bus.”
“I’ll message you as soon as I get home.” You promised, running a hand through his hair. Peter placed his own yogurt tub beside yours.
“I’m going to hold you to that.” Peter said. He kissed you, meaning for it to be one quick goodbye kiss, but you ended up having a full make out session against your car, not able to bring yourself to separate. You never wanted to be apart from Peter, he was the best thing in your life right now, possibly ever.
Finally, you managed to say your last goodbyes and you hopped in your car, smiling at Peter with a wave as you started to head back home.

|I got to tell you something guys, I don’t really like Bucky that much. But since most of the people on tumblr likes him so I ask, why not? Also this would be semi-Medieval. Thought I’ll do something new! To be honest I didn’t quite like this since I CAN’T COMPLETELY EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED but when I finished editing (Which was weirdly fast.) I appreciated it a little bit. My thesaurus wasn’t working and there’s no Wi-Fi atm when I did this story so sorry! Anyways hoped you like it!
| WARNING: CONFUSING |
You haven’t met this man before, longhaired and piercing eyes. Just glancing at him can make you feel intimidated. Is it because he has the status as being the lone king of the pirates? Might be for the other people but for you, he is the type of man that yearned for love behind his façade. Something about him makes you feel connected at him even though you just meet him now.
Today, King Steve Rogers of the Northland held a party for the celebration on James Buchanan Barnes return. He was known as Bucky, the Lost Soldier of the Sea. The people in the discarded island known as Hydra when he was fighting for the Northland captured him. The people were happy that he was back, for you? You were ecstatic, your parents told you a lot about him. To be exact, he was your childhood hero and you can’t admit that you had a puppy crush on him.
“The theme would be Masquerade, requested by the King.”
Sam Wilson, best known as his battlefield name Falcon announced. He is known as the left hand of King Rogers as Bucky was known to be the right hand. The females scurried off, wailing and sobbing about not finding the right dress and masks as the males were distressed about their salaries and having not enough money to buy their suits.
“Ah, (Y/N).”
Wanda Maximoff, known as Scarlet Witch. She held great power in the battlefield, as she was a sorcerer; she was supposedly in the Southland where the wealthy King Tony Stark governed. Unfortunately, she didn’t like the rules that was set on that land and fled with Clint Barton. The King of Archery in battlefield and serves King Rogers, best known as Hawkeye. Speaking of him, he was beside Wanda smiling sheepishly and awkwardly waving. You weren’t really that close to him. But to Wanda. You treated her like the twin sister you never had.
“We have a surprise for you.” Clint grinned as he scratched the back of his neck. You stared at them confusedly and that’s when you feel a gloved hand covered your sightings. You heard a man giggled and you felt in glee as you uncovered your eyes and gawked at the sight.
“Peter!” you embraced the young man as he returned it.
Peter Parker, alias name is Spiderman. He is one of King Stark’s best soldiers; he was cursed to have the abilities of a spider when he was a child. He didn’t know it until he was took in by your mother, May and father Ben.
“Long time no see bug.” He spans you around and landed you gently on the rocky ground. “Wait,” you stared at him “Does this mean…?”
“Yes, King Stark would be attending the party.”
King Tony Stark of the Southland. Unlike King Rogers’s kingdom, which is only managed by the king himself. King Stark has the help of some few people that his residents voted at.
“Glad that the Iron dude would be here, he got any gifts? Iron again? How about gold, we need that.” Sam engaged in the conversation abruptly with Natasha Romanoff trailing behind. “Not going to happen,” Natasha puts her hand on her hip averted his gaze at Clint, giving in a small smile “Hey.”
“Nice seeing you again,” Clint laughed. Natasha Romanoff, known as the Black Widow. One of the soldiers of King Stark, she is the main spy in his troop of army.
“Vision!” Wanda rushed in to give the robot a big hug. No one knew how the robot was made except for three people. They haven’t seen such advanced technology made rather than cannons that was found in Hydra. Vision was known to be one of the strongest, agile and enhanced knights at the South, serving for the better and loyal to King Stark. He embraced back and smiled at the form of greeting made by Wanda.
Peter smirked and averted his attention towards you. “So where’s the ant dude anyway?”
"The man went to his family for the time being,” Sam sighed, “The poor man needs time to heal after the War happened. Anyways how’s Rhodey and the Panther guy?”
“Well, King Stark has been by his side all day after the fall incident but he’s fine now. He’ll be able to join the ball and T’Challa returned to his kingdom, he wouldn’t be in the event sadly.” Clint glared at the members of the South. Guilt creeping in, “My bad, sorry.”
“Nonsense.”
The group including you twirled around to find both of the Kings together with their most worthy soldiers beside them. King Stark smirked at the acknowledgement he was getting as you and the others arched your back and bowed while King Rogers just face palmed in annoyance at the other King. “No need to bow for now. I told you that you should just bow when in front of other villagers! This is embarrassing.”
“Now, now Capsicle. Don’t you like the attention we’re getting?”
“Please just stitch your mouth.”
You and the others stood and watched the childish argument in amusement. It’s not any other day you see two Lord-like beings disputing each other in a foolish way since you were just a mere engineer unlike your adopted brother and his and your companions. While watching as the two males fight while Rhodey, the War Machine that stood beside King Stark tried desperately to cease the fight. You noticed a male that you’ve never meet before, longhaired and piercing eyes. Just looking at him can make your knees shook. He had this certain aura around him that you can’t pin point. His facial expression makes you think that he doesn’t care at all on what’s happening around him.
He observed the crowd of heroes and landed his eyes on you, taking note on how you were the only one staring back at him. He frowned then returned to look around who is around.
You sulked at the gesture, how rude you thought.
“Anyways, the reason I’m here it’s because I’m introducing my best friend that helped me through out the years in sailing.” King Rogers smiled and directed his thumb at the man beside him. “His name is---“
You couldn’t believe what just happened as Wanda styled your hair. “I COULDN’T BELIEVE THAT HE WAS THE SEA SOLDIER!” Wanda manipulated another rubber and made it land on her hand and proceeded to do your hair.
“I THOUGHT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HANDSOME AND COOL LIKE MY PARENTS TOLD ME!”
“Now, now (Y/N). There’s no reason to call him not attractive, after all he’s a ladies man.” Wanda chortled as Natasha applied on a lipstick. “Don’t joke on me Wanda! Also he’s so rude for God’s sake, how could that be a ladies man?!”
It was a fact when you stated that he was rude, when you were walking around at the market place, which was filled with people and you are trying to find Wanda his body collided with you and left as if nothing happened and didn’t even apologized, you also took notice on how he has a covered basket beside him. There’s also one time when you’re going in the bakery store to buy some flour as requested by Natasha, just when you were supposed to open the door the pirate roughly exited the room as the door smacked your face. He even made an eye contact yet he didn’t say a simple “Sorry" and rushed out while you were rubbing your bleeding nose. Fortunately it didn’t broke. Now, the one person you idolized so much is now just an annoying fly to you.
“Well, talk to Natasha about that. She dated him.” You instantly turned your head on your right, not minding the call of Wanda as two of the pins fall off of your hair. “You dated that grouchy man?”
Natasha didn’t hesitated to answer as she puts on one of her earrings “Yes. Only for three months. He’s not like how you described him to be.”
You grumbled incoherent words as Wanda only snickered. “Well, he’s a kind man if you try to know him. Take this ball as a chance, though it might be hard since we’ll all be wearing masks.”
“Pfft,” you rolled your eyes “Not a chance.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m going with my dear brother.” You smugly said and wore the mask you made that complimented your dress as Wanda finished the last touches on your hair.
“What?”
“Sorry bug.” Peter smiled and left with Mary Jane leaving you alone as your other friends left. Natasha is with Bruce and Wanda is with Vision.
There are a lot of people in the castle, every one of them in check. People were having fun dancing with their partner; no one is alone except you. While wandering you found a waiter bringing foods and champagne around so you took one drink. Nothing to do, you emerged out of the castle and entered the back of it which lead to a beautiful view of the ocean and the night sky full of stars. You couldn’t help but love this part of the land something about it was enchanting. You grinned and placed the wine glass down and took off your heels while launching down the rocky shore. Feeling free from the world. In every step you could hear the sound of the music playing from the indoors decreasing.
You could hear the waves and the salty water scent hits your nose. You sat down near the sea and admired the view of the constellations and the calming hums of the ocean. Something about this place reminded you something but you couldn’t pin point it. While you were engrossed in your thoughts heard someone sitting beside you.
“Nice view right?”
The person is a man in a suit; his hair in a man bun and his mask’s design was gorgeous. You nod, not entirely trusting this man. Though to you, he has this presence that was rather familiar.
“Mind dancing?”  He stared at you his eyes were ice blue. He stood and held out his hand. Something about that gesture made your head ache a little but you reassured yourself and took the hand as he pulled you up. He placed your hand on his nape and puts his hand behind you. His other hand took yours, conjoining it. He led the slow paced dance while humming a song that you were familiar with.
“What are you singing?” he only smiled a toothy one.
“You will know.”
Suddenly you could hear the music from the castle clear.
Sí, sabes que ya llevo un rato mirándote Tengo que bailar contigo hoy (DY) Vi que tu mirada ya estaba llamándome Muéstrame el camino que yo voy (Oh)
He lead the dance suddenly into a face paced one and adding a mix of touches and salsa, “Hey!” you were flustered, as you didn’t know how to dance on this type of music only slow ones but surprisingly. Your body led you to the beat, shocking you completely. You weren’t the dancing type of girl to say at least.
You wouldn’t admit it but you were enjoying the moment. Chuckling here and there while looking at your partner who is in the same condition with you.
“Sing with me.” He said suddenly which made you gape in confusement.
“Despacito.” He began. The song was really familiar to you and you couldn’t help but hum along and then openly sang as well. Your mind was giving you the words to say in melody, surprising you once again.
You chanted the lyrics along with him until the song ended.
“Despacito.”
You heard Sam’s voice echoing saying to take off the mask now. You and the mysterious man looked once again and untied the masks.
It shocked you who to see your partner’s face.
“Bucky?” your eyes were wide as a saucer.
“(Y/N), I have something to say.”
“How did you know my name? We haven’t even made a proper conversation until now!” you backed, the sand somehow calming your aggression a little.
“(Y/N), I know you before and one thing I want you to know is that I love you.”
“What?!” he smiled, his eyes showing the opposite. It held sadness, “I need to go now. I just want you to know that I’m going to Hydra tomorrow and I need to see you once again there. Promise me please.”
“I don’t understand…”
He moved forward and kissed you, you felt butterflies in your stomach. It was a short, meaningful kiss. When you stared at his eyes, it was no longer blue but it is now warm brown.
“Be safe.” He smiled then backed away and walked towards the opposite direction of the castle. You were left in trance and your mind was full of questions. When you were brought back to reality, you tried to call out for him and maybe follow him to demand questions but his trail of footprints were nowhere to be seen.
“God, Bucky is such a douchebag.” You grumbled while biting on one of the Turkish delight snacks that you bought from the bakery store, this snack was far by one of your favorites. “There you go again,” Wanda sheepishly pinpointed while she was drinking coffee.
“I heard that Bucky would be going to Hydra in a few minutes by now.” Natasha said while biting off plain bread. You choked at the thought; you remembered that Bucky said that you should meet him, which you didn’t know the reason behind.
“Hey are you okay?” Wanda initiated.
“Yeah, I just remember that I need to feed my cattle. I’m just going to buy food in a few minutes.” You responded, took your pouch and rushed outside, running towards the shore where the on-going boats decked are.
“Weird, she doesn’t have a cattle.” Wanda sighed and proceeded to steal some of your snack that was left. Natasha only smiled.
“BUCKY!”
The crowd ceased down and stared at you weirdly while the man that you called looked at you strangely as if he didn’t knew you. “What?” he countered and embarrassment floods you mixing with anger. How could he be all right after he just kissed you yesterday you thought. Now that you realized, you didn’t knew what to say and everyone is looking at you since you just yelled for attention at one of the most intimidating man in the land. To them it was an act for a death wish making you gulp
“Uh, eh… When you get back maybe, tea sometime?” you stammered “And augh, be safe!”
You proceeded to push towards the crowd in embarrassment. “Why did I even do that?!” you panted as you stopped in front the bakery store, your heart was pounding. “But I just noticed, why is his eyes are blue?”
Meanwhile at the boat, one of the passengers nictate his eyes at the scene and confronted his captain. “Do you know that lass?”
Bucky only smiled, remembering the catastrophic moment. “Didn’t knew that girl but maybe I’ll know her in the future just like she said.”
Around the enormous rock that was near at the Lone Soldier’s boat there was a cloaked man watching the scene, his face beaming at the act that happened. He then entered the forest that lead to an isolated shore. Basket in hand, his destination ended in front of a gravestone. He removed the covers as the sweet Turkish delight can be seen and set it in front of the gravestone.
“It’s been years, right? I brought your favorite sweet once again.” He brought out his hand to see it slowly fading. He frowned, “I’m slowly fading…”
“Well at least my other self would get to grow old with you now.” He choked in tears. “I’m coming now (Y/N).” He wiped his tears off, as there are only few parts that weren’t part of the air yet.
“Despacito all right.”
With one last breath, the longhaired man with piercing eyes was gone.
On the gravestone, it carved:
 “(Y/N) (L/N)”.
||The story was confusing I know but I was thinking, should I do a prequel thing that describes what happen before this? Let me know guys! Also if I do add one, who would want to be tagged?
