Happy Father's Day Part 3

Summary: 3/3 Well, its the last part.

Warning: Sad, Mentions Death.

Word Count: 2269

"Harry? " I answer the phone.

"It's not Harry but glad you know your numbers." that high pitch annoying ass voice squeals. Rubbing my stomach, the baby's in go position and any day now my oven will be done baking. And of course, this bitch is answering his phone.

"Well bye-bye just thought you should know where he was at. " In the background, I hear Harry's voice going on about something so it must be true. Hanging up I sigh letting the hot tears roll down my cheeks. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I blame myself really, I let him back into my life and this doesn't surprise me. I gotta pee.

Waddling over to the bathroom door a gasp leaves my mouth feeling the surge of liquids fall between my legs. Holy shit. My water broke! Fuck gotta go. Thankful my bag was already in the car. Harry had insisted once I hit the 36-week mark claiming Styles's are either early or fashionably late.

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. My knuckles turning white as I grasp the wheel. Nope, I'm not pushing anything out of my vagina. Can't do it. I refuse.

The contraction going away after a few brief moments of completely unreasonable pain. Dialing the numbers, I know by second nature, thankfully she picks up on the fourth ring.

"I don't think you should drive y/n"

" Just call 911. I'm almost there! " Gemma ecstatically shouts. She's just like her brother, "Where's Harrold? "

I put the seatbelt on and wince. It's just 28 minutes I can do this. "He's with his whore."

I can hear an audible gasp, "he wouldn't he's so excited for Athena"

"Well I just called him and she answered. " I grunt keeping my eyes on the two lanes ahead of me. Fuck I hate merging lanes people don't know how to drive.

"I'll be at the hospital as soon as possible but my phones gonna-" the line went dead. She did say she was on like 10% oh well.

I can do this just focus y/n. "Hear that baby girl we're almost there, hang on okay Hunny. " I say as a reminder to myself that soon I'll be leaving with another human with me.

6 miles to go that's what I'm talking about, another sharp pain spreads throughout my abdomen while waiting for the light to turn green. "OH COME ON. FOR FUCKS SAKE!" they're getting closer by the minute. Shit. Arriving at a four-way intersection. I'm relieved to be at a red light, the contractions are longer and much more frequent. "Almost there Athena, this is the last light and a straight shot from there."

Abruptly my car is jerked forward with a sharp impact pushing to the oncoming lights. All I see are lights from both directions colliding with my 3,000-pound piece of metal. Sounds of shattering glass and sirens are the last thing I hear before it all fades to black.

Harry's POV

"Has anyone seen Mr. Style's phone?" The helpful aid asked around the dressing room. I could've sworn I put it down for a moment. Y/n could go into labor any minute now and how I am supposed to know. Fuck. I'm stupid.

I was supposed to be here to perform and list nominees and then go back home to y/n. I can't wait to propose to her, she's all I could ever want and she's giving me the most wonderful gift I could ever ask for. Running a hand through my damp hair, the lights really build a sweat, I hear a familiar voice. "Looking for this lover? " she asks slipping my phone into my pocket.

"Good luck at home. " she smiles and winks. Before I could question it she walks away.

Looking down at the device my heart skips a beat, I have 146 missed calls. And I've been gone for 5 hours. Seeing Gemma's name on the screen again I swipe to answer.

"Hell-"

"Harry," she says sniffling.

"Gemma what's wrong? did I miss it? Oh my god I hope not"

"I think it would be best if you came now Harry." she breaks her voice cracking.

"Gem what?"

"Listen Harry, she needs you right now so please." she cries. Not needing another word, I tell Jackson the address and that I need to be there as fast as possible, 45 minutes later we're pulling into the Labor and Delivery section of the hospital.

"Congrats Harry!" Jackson says letting me out at the door. "Thank you!" I beam back at him.

Seeing Gemma, her eyes are puffy with tears still flowing. "Gem what's wro-," a sharp pain to my right cheek stings. Never has Gemma hit me like that, well not since I cut her prom dress. "How could you Harry? Cheat on her again WITH TAYLOR for Christ sakes!" She yells.

"I didn't cheat," I explain to my sister as calm as I can.

She looks at me with wild eyes pulling me into a hallway with fewer people, "Then what happened Harrold?" I clench my jaw instead of speaking, how dare she accuse me of cheating on my pregnant soon-to-be fiancé. Y/n Styles has a great catch don't you think?

"Is she here yet? Gem where are they?" I ask ready to see my new family.

She begins crying again "Harry there was an accident." Those five words make my breathing come to a halt. My heart shatters in a million pieces "Is Y/n okay? What happened?" She begins walking me to a door. "This one," she points. Looking through the glass I see y/n with bruises and cuts to her beautiful face, her stomach nearly deflated from when I last saw her this morning, a cast on a swollen leg of hers, and a sling holding a very damaged arm. Tears brim at my eyes looking at my love on that hospital bed. "She's awake." Gemma walks past me running to the outside.

I gently knock on the door, waiting for a response which I don't get. "Y/n?" I approach her almost as If I were going to help an injured puppy. "Hey love" I smile at her which she glares at me and then turns wincing in pain. "You wanted this didn't you Harry?" I look at her confused. "This is probably great for you, a way out. Well leave." She states using whatever energy she can find.

"Baby I didn't want- I want you and Athena" She breaks down in uncontrollable tears.

"You were with that her and couldn't even bother to pick up your phone!" she screams. "Y/n I wasn-" a knock at the door interrupts my sentence, "Come in" She says glaring at me as a nurse opens the door.

"Hey there Mama, we have a visitor." the nurse wheel in a tiny cart that has a bunch of equipment coming from it. She looks at me and asks Y/n, "Is this dad?" she nods and rolls her eyes. "About time you made it!" She smiles my way. Placing the beautiful baby in front of us. She's so small and fragile. "The doctor will be in shortly to talk to you." She states picking up the tiny child and putting her in Y/n's arm.

"Hi pumpkin," Y/n coos into her ear. "Guess who decided to show?" She smiles, a tear falling from the corner of her eye. She nods her head towards me as I go to hold her. She's so soft and precious. Her small eyes have a gorgeous mix of both mine and Y/n's. She has such a cute round face, I couldn't imagine her looking any different.

"Hi there angel, I'm so sorry I was late." I see a spot dampen on her blanket that surrounds her, knowing that I'm crying. Her small eyes shining like twinkling stars. So small I can feel her fragile body between my large hands.

Another knock before the door opens when several doctors walk in. "Mrs. Y/ln, unfortunately, we have some bad news,"

"Oh, hello there Mr. Styles." They state acknowledging my existence. One of the female doctors places a black and white image on the lighted board illuminating the small figure.

"Unfortunately, due to the accident, Athena has suffered from what we call a fetomaternal hemorrhage."

"What exactly are you saying?" Y/n ask looking at the child still in my arms.

The slightly shorter male doctor points to the image. "This is an abscess of blood in the brain. Unfortunately, the risk is too large to operate. I'd give her another day at most."

"You m-mean," Tears start pouring down her face" I was so scared she was hurt. I-I promise I saw the light it was red, and I-I stopped but," She began heaving losing more air with each word. I gently rub her back as I cradle Athena with one arm.

"She's still being monitored but I'm afraid she won't have much longer." The first doctor breaks the silence. "According to the police report the car that struck you from behind happened to be a drunk driver, Gage Joyce." I can feel the anger surging through me. "I remember the clashing of metal, glass breaking, the sirens but it all went b-black." She mumbles, seemingly remembering the awful experience. I grab her hand in hopes of comforting her but it doesn't seem to work.

"After striking your car at 72 mph it had ample force to push your vehicle into the opposite traffic. Your vehicle took the most impact and was hit by four other cars. On scene, EMT's said you were in and out of consciousness mumbling about a baby. Taken and brought to the L&D." he finishes.

"Fetomaternal hemorrhages are often caused by trauma and sometimes can be revered but in this case, we've done all we can do." They all frown looking at the small girl still in my arms.

"No, there's got to be more you can bloody do! We're in a hospital for Christ sakes!" I exclaim, passing my daughter to the love of my life. She gently caresses her soft skin. She's literally a perfect combination of us. I cannot lose my family.

"You can leave, thank you all for your help." y/n says quietly, they oblige by her wishes and leave us with our daughter.

"Harry," she wipes a tear from her face cautious of the IV placed on her hand, "If what they say is true, I just want to spend time with her." She sniffles. I nod understanding. She looks back at the small being in her arms, "Hi pretty girl, Mommy's so happy to meet you," she unfolds the blanket from her. I sit next to her on the small bed in the room that smells of sterilization. Placing my finger near hers' she wraps her small hand around my thumb, her grip so tight for someone so small. Y/n kisses her forehead, "Harry," she runs her finger along her small legs.

"Can you sing the song?" nodding and softly singing Isn't she Lovely by Stevie Wonder, in the small hospital bed as our new life falls asleep. All night I watch her little chest rise and fall allowing y/n to get some rest soon following my two loves.

By the early morning, nurses are rushing in because of the loud beeping from the monitor, waking y/n and I. It feels like everything is happening so fast but in slow motion right in front of me. Those three words are the ones I didn't want to hear. "No! no. I have to take her home. She's gotta go home..." Y/n screams, not being able to see her face due to the tears in my eyes falling and rebuilding themselves faster than the speed of light. "Call it." One of the nurses shouts.

"Time of Death 6:18 am March 7th, 2019"

As they cleared out the room, I see her small lifeless body curled into a blanket, almost as if she were sleeping, but no longer do breaths fall from her small heart-shaped lips.

Y/n hasn't said a word since we got in the car. It's been four days since we lost Athena. She slowly climbs into the car, still sore from the accident and birth. I go to the backseat holding back my emotions and putting the empty car-seat in the trunk of the car that should have been holding three of us.

Starting the silent journey back home she continues to look out of the window, a frown etched on her mouth, tears rolling down her cheeks as she instinctively touches her somewhat deflated stomach. What kind of sick joke is this?

"Harry why were you with her?" she asks me looking down at what used to be her baby bump.

"I wasn't love, she took my phone while I was on stage." She just nods and remains silent until we pull up to the flat. She begins walking up the stairs as best she can. "Y/n wait, let me help."

"No Harry!" She yells. Pain evident in her voice, ignoring her I open the door and help her inside. "Harry I can't do this." I stare at her confused, "What can't you do y/n?"

"Us Harry. I can't look at you and not think of her." She sobs.

"Y/n we can-" I try to reason with her.

"No Harry, please just go." She whispers.

"I'm not losing both of you," I state holding back my own sobs. I feel like everything feels like it's getting smaller around me, suffocating in grief.

"You already have."

A/N: What can I say I have a thing for dark endings. Anyways I really appreciate the support loves. I hope you enjoy these! Right now I've been working on a Loki piece, I'm so excited for it. I changed the writing style tho, so it's not 1st person per usual. I think it's going pretty well so far.

D is for Dangerous - part IV

Summary: driven by the desire of revenge, the reader tries to take down the man who ruined her life only to find out that her plan is an utter fiasco; however she meets a man that is gonna change her life and give her the chance of a lifetime

Warnings: use of weapons and a little bit of smut

You hoped the coldness of the water might’ve helped you clear your thoughts, distracting you. As you gave yourself a look in the mirror, water droplets were running down your cheeks, falling right in the sink. Your eyes, usually so cold and full of determination, were now the reflection of chaos. Lost and devastated — that’s how you felt.

I used to work for Kuklinski. No matter how hard you tried not to think at Four’s words, they kept echoing in your head. Not that you’d heard his story, given that you had literally ran off from him. You were starting to regret it, though, given that there was one simple question that was eating you alive.

Had he been part of the assassination of your parents?

As you moved your hair off your face your hands started to shake, perfectly describing how you felt just at the thought of Four being involved in it. Now that you finally knew why was he so mad at Kuklinski, you wished you didn’t.

You had to know more. You had to know if he’d killed your parents.

And that thought gave you the strength to get out of your room — even though you felt unsteady in your own feet, you forced yourself to keep moving. You felt like a robot, walking though the cold hallways of the building without paying attention to what was surrounding you.

And when you finally found yourself in front of Four’s door, it took you five minutes to find the will to knock. You closed your hand in a fist, trying to stop it from shaking as you waited for him to open it. Your thoughts were running wild and you were torn between the desire of punching him and the one of conforming him.

And when you finally heard the lock clicking, you still hadn’t made up your mind.

His green eyes immediately found yours. You lifted your chin as he clenched his jaw, unsure what to say. You tried to remain composed as you swallowed in vain, saying in an uncertain voice “Can I come in?”

Four didn’t reply — he limited himself to nod at your question and walk aside in order to let you come into his room. “I think it’s better if you sit down.”

You didn’t like the awkwardness of the moment but Four was right. You didn’t trust your own legs, so you sat down to his mattress. Your chest rise and lower as you took a deep breath, looking at your own hands in nervousness before looking up to meet his gaze.

”Did you?”, you immediately asked. You couldn’t wait any longer.

Four narrowed his brows. “What?”

It took you all the strength you had not to make your voice shake as you asked him in a cold tone “Did you kill my parents?”

Four parted his lips, as if he was trying to process your question. His golden hair was messier than usual and God knows how much he’d slipped his fingers through it during the last hour. “Bloody hell, Eight. No. No, I didn’t. I didn’t kill your parents. I have nothing to do with it.”

You wanted to believe him. You had to. The look in his eyes — so desperate and sad — suggested you that he was being honest, and you truly wished he was. You didn’t reply, you limited yourself to nod at his words. That’s probably what pushed him to add “Please, believe me.” His voice, so soft and low, almost broke at the end of the sentence.  

Even though you were trying so hard to avoid it, your eyes became teary at his words. You hurried to get rid of the few tears that had escaped and you raised your gaze to meet him once again. “I do.” You nodded to confirm your words and then you softly said “I’m— I’m sorry I just ran off.”

Four nodded as he leaned against the wall in front of you, arms crossed in his chest as his eyes never left yours. “No need to apologise. It was a bit of a shock, I know.”

“Yeah.”

Four exhaled deeply and the two of you stood quiet for a while. His past seemed to upset him, you noticed it by the shade of his eyes and by the stiffness of his posture. The fact that you were forcing him to open up was killing you, but you had to know.

“I need to know, Four.”

“I know.”

“You know it’s fair—“

“Yes, it is”, he murmured as he picked up a chair and sat on it. Even though he was in front of you, he kept the distance, which allowed you to think clearly about his words. You weren’t yourself when Four was around you.

It took him some time before he could finally find the courage to start talking about his story. “I was born in England, I think you got that from my accent. And yeah, Harry is my brother. He’s three years younger than me. The surname and the family is all we have in common, though. We never really bonded.”

Hearing of the relationship he had with his brother made you think of Emily. You wondered how she was, what was she doing, if she was thinking of you.

You started thinking of a mini-version of Four, his golden hair flying everywhere as he ran in a big, green field. And you felt incredibly sorry at the fact that he hadn’t been as lucky as you in matter of family.

“I— uhm, I might have asked you before”, you stated as he paused his speech. “What’s your realname?”

Four smiled. It wasn’t one of those forced smiles you were obliged to do as a sign of courtesy. Oh no, you’d known Four enough to know that he only smiled when he genuinely felt like doing it. He cleared his voice, rubbing his hands and saying “Billy.”

“Billy”, you repeated. You slowly nodded, trying to process the news along with the rest of the shocking ones Four revealed you. “You look like a Billy.”

“You look like a Y/N.” Your name coming from his lips sounded so different. It’d been a while since you last heard the sound of your name and it was quite a weird feeling. You were surprised by the fact that he remembered it.

“You remember.”

Four narrowed his brows and gave you a little grin. “‘f course I do.”

Geez, you truly hoped your cheeks weren’t turning bright red.

You cleared your voice and you looked away from him, playing with your hands and staying quiet for a while. But then you broke the silence by saying “How did you and Harry end up working for Kuklinski?”

There were still important matters to deal with.

Four lowered his gaze and rubbed again his hands, probably trying to find the right words. “At the age of eighteen I moved to NY and joined this group of people — they were the only friends I had. We were pretty good at parkour, actually, and we decided to use our skills to do something. To gain some money, y’know. Our business had been going on for a while when suddenly one day Harry called me. I didn’t know he’d moved to the US too, but he proposed me something. A job. At the time the idea of gaining some money by doing something I was good at tempted me. I was young and naive.”

You were trying to remain impassive at his story, bu you were miserably failing. That was Kuklinki’s power. He gave you hope, money, a purpose, but then he fucked with your life. He didn’t care about anyone but himself.

When you met Four’s eyes, you noticed they’d changed into a different shade. Darker, even deeper. “I didn’t know what part of Kuklinski’s business Harry was taking care of, until the day of the party.”

“And what did you do?” Your words were nothing but a whisper.

Four pursed his lips. “I was his ears and eyes, informing him of his enemies’ moves. He used to call me ‘the skywalker’.”

You were about to make him a question but he preceded you. “I know what you wanna ask me, and no. He never asked me to check on your parents. I didn’t even know they were involved with him until One gave me your file and asked me to recruit you.”

“He has a file on me?”

Four gave you the typical ‘Seriously? Right now?’ look and you shrugged. “He has a file on each and everyone of us.”

You slowly nodded at his words and you bit your lower lip. “When did you join the group?”

“I’d been working for Kuklinski for a few months — we were in Kiev, me and some other guys. And my girlfriend.”

Girlfriend? “Well, ex-girlfriend. She backstabbed me”, he added.

You gave him a questioning look and he leaned towards the back of the chair. “We had to spy on a powerful enemy of Kuklinski who at the time was hiding in Ukraine. Of course we took some liberties, too. We’d been told that the Kalahari — a jewel worth millions, if not even billions — was hidden in the house of an important functionary. As we broke into his apartment, someone called the police. Right before running away I’d managed to find it — God knows if I needed the money it was worth. We ran away in a rush and we had to climb an old billboard that was coming apart. I made one wrong move — I held on an old wiring but it broke on one side.”

“Geez”, you whispered.

Four pursed his lips and nodded. “To make it short, I managed to hold onto the corner of a building and as I was holding the jewel in my mouth, I asked my girlfriend to grab my hand and help me. But all she cared about was the Kalahari, so she grabbed it. I fell for six floors, maybe even more, right into a building. One was there, he showed me his plan and he recruited me. Now I’m working for a cause I believe him, I’m free from Kuklinski and my backstabbing girlfriend, along with my brother, are still working for that son of a bitch.”

“Shit, I’m sorry.”

Four slipped his fingers trough his hair and sighed deeply. “The things I’ve seen, the horrible things he made me witness—”

Four’s voice broke right in the middle of the sentence. Your heart sank at the sight of Four’s sorrow and you stood up, walking towards him. You slipped your fingers through his blonde hair, closing you eyes. His pain was almost touchable.

He raised his gaze to meet yours and your hands slipped on his cheeks. His eyes were teary and it broke your heart. Four, who had always been so strong and cocky, was falling apart in your hands. You leaned towards him and whispered “I’m sorry.”

His lips were just a few inches away from yours, but you hurried to eliminate the distance between you. Just like the first time you’d kissed him, his touch was soft but firm. He immediately placed both his hands on your cheek and the two of you stood up without backing away.

There was a difference between the two kisses, though — he didn’t reject you. Four kissed you back, deepening the moment by pulling your body close to his.

The two of you started to move back towards the bed and you made Four sit on the mattress as you sat on top of him. Your face was just a few inches away from his and his lips were so close that they almost grazed yours. In his beautiful, green eyes there was a look that you’d never seen before. The kind of look that makes you feel like if you have butterflies in your stomach.

He cupped your cheek and touched your nose with his, finally kissing you again. His touch was so soft that it gave you the goosebumps. You immediately leaned towards him, but you didn’t want to rush the situation. It was just as perfect as it was going.

Your hand slipped to his neck and then inside of his shirt, making your fingers run through his bare back. At the same time, Four’s hand was slipping through your arm with a soft touch.

His shirt was just being in the way, so you lifted it and took it out. His body was a masterpiece, with all his flaws. As you laid on top of him you gently grazed his torso, starting from his collarbone down to his lower muscles. You could feel his green eyes closely following your movements with caution.

He wanted you, you could feel and see that, and the sensation of his body pressed against yours did nothing but increase the need. But you had no chance to know how the strike could’ve been, what would’ve happened — it was a bloody dangerous mission. And that’s the reason why you wanted to enjoy every second with him, to feel at the very best all the emotions that his touch gave you.

“Eight”, he whispered, but sure as hell he wasn’t begging you to stop touching him. His hands moved to your hips, grazing your naked skin before getting rid of your tee. Four made his hands slip from your thighs to your chest, now only covered by your bra. His soft touch gave you chills and so you shrugged, making him giggle. “You’re so fuckin’ beautiful.”

You bit your lower lip at his words, placing your lips on his in a soft kiss. Your hands were exploring his chest — you just weren’t able to keep your hands to yourself.

Four explored your body, too. His calloused fingers grazed your back down to your sweatpants. You were starting to grow impatient so you backed away from his lips, placing your hand on his and pushing him to drop both your trousers and your panties. You stood up to get rid of them and right after they were long forgotten on the floor. “Bloody jeans”, you murmured as you tried to unzip them. Four giggled and helped you get rid of them in a hurry.

Your naked bodies fit perfectly and it felt so right. That thought left you breathless for a couple of moment so Four surrounded your hips with his arm and switched the positions, laying on top of you.

And immediately his hands were all over you, slipping from your bare chest to your belly and even further to your thighs. His green eyes were constantly checking on you, trying to spot the slightest change of mood, but you wanted him. You wanted him more than you have ever wanted anything or anyone in your life.

His soft and warm lips explored your chest, focusing on your boobs and teasing your nipples with his tongue. His gaze was so overwhelming that you had to look away, your hands gripping on the sheets as you tried to keep control. “No, love. Eyes on me.” He gently turned your head towards him as the other hand was firmly holding your hip.

You bit your lower lip and your hips automatically lifted against his touch as he gently kissed your lower belly. “So bloody beautiful”, He whispered.

“Four.” You couldn’t even recognise your own voice.

“You like that?”

You could feel the warmth of his tongue against your most sensitive zone and you just hummed in response — your breath was too heavy for you to say a meaningful word. His blonde hair gave you the goosebumps when touching your inner tight and you smiled at the memory of thinking how it’d have been to sink your fingers on it.

“You okay?”, He asked once he’d come back to your lips. His whispers and your heavy breath were the only sounds in the room.

You slowly nodded, almost begging “Please” before taking his face in your hands and placing your lips on his. He immediately kissed you back, deepening the moment and pushing his body against yours. He wanted you, and that’s exactly what his wood pressed against your lower belly was telling you.

And when he slowly sank into you his gaze never lost yours; your hands slipped through his bare back up to his neck, your fingers sinking between his blonde hair.

You surrounded his waist with your legs and crossed your ankles, trying to feel him as much as you could in each and everyone of his pushes. “Fuck, Y/N”, He murmured as he hid his face on your neck, his heavy breath caressing your skin as he kept sinking into you. He’d called you by your name, your real name, and if it wasn’t for the situation your eyes’d have become teary.

You both reached the culmination a few moments later, his green eyes never leaving yours as he grunted. When he laid down right next to you with a sigh, at first you were too worn off to say something. As the seconds went by you turned your head towards him, meeting his gaze already fixed on you. The sight of his tight smile made you chuckle, and he asked by widening his smile “What?”

“Nothing”, You said between the giggles.

“Was it bad?”

“Oh my god.” You hid your face on his neck and he surrounded your waist with his arm.

“Eight.”

“No, absolutely. It’s been great.” You placed your chin on his shoulder to face him.

“Good.” He pursed his lips but you could tell your words pumped up his ego.

“So, Billy”, you teased him with a grin.

“Yeah...”

“It’s lovely.” And you were being honest.

Four limited himself to just look at you, making you slightly blush. Your attention was caught by the scar that crossed his brow, so you slowly grazed it with the tip of your finger. “How did you get it?”

“Parkour isn’t exactly the safest thing on earth.”

“So you smashed your face.”

Four laughed again. “Yeah, sort of.”

“Can I ask you something?” A question had just popped in your mind.

Four limited himself to nod a ‘yes’ and you bit your lower lip, taking your time before saying “Why’d you reject me?”

His blonde brows were now narrowed in a questioning look. One of his hand was resting under his head and the light coming from the window made him look like Adonis. “Huh?”

“That day at the gym. You said that it was because of the stress I was under.”

“It wasn’t?”, He asked almost in a playful tone and you slapped him in his chest.

“’f course it wasn’t.”

Four pursed his lips and sighed deeply. “I felt guilty.”

“For what?”

“I used to work for the man that ruined your family, Eight. The look in your eyes every time his name was pronounced — I couldn’t forgive myself. I still can’t.”

His eyes were so clear and so honest that pushed you to place a hand on his cheek, making him look right at you. “I do, Billy. I forgive you.”

And the smile he gave you made your heart do a backflip. He didn’t reply, though. He kissed you, pressing your body against his.

One week ago you’d never thought to find yourself in this situation, but there you were. Right into Four’s arms.

His hand started to go up and down on your bare lower back, relaxing your muscles and making your feel even more comfortable. “Are you scared?”

He seemed to reflect on your question. “Just a bit worried.”

“You’ll be careful, won’t you?”

“And you won’t do anything stupid.” You were surprised to notice he’d realised how the strike made you feel. That it was something personal to you. You were going to face Kuklinski in a few hours and you were terrified. You were worried about your anger issues and you just hoped you weren’t going to screw things up.

But you were determined to take that motherfucker down so you confirmed his words. “No, I won’t.”

Fourteen days after the explosion – the day of the hit on Kuklinski

“Red really is your colour.” Five gave you a quick look from above her shoulder. Maybe she was right. The red dress you were wearing looked really good on you, but nothing compared to her and her green tube dress. She looked like a goddess.

Her hair was up in a fancy hairstyle but Two’d decided to make yours just slightly wavy.

“Isn’t it too much?”

She turned towards you and gave you the most confident smile you’d ever seen. “It’s never too much.”

You were about to leave for the strike and anxiety was eating you alive. You were determined to do it, but things could’ve gone terribly wrong. Your thoughts immediately led to few hours before, while laying in Four’s arms. In a different situation the thought of what you’d done would’ve made you blush, but not that night. You were worried sick.

Four had a major role in the strike and you just hoped he’d get away with it uninsured. The eight of you trained hard for this very special occasion, so you tried to stay positive. The plan was perfect in every singular detail.

“You look... différente”, Two said by looking at you with her eyes narrowed.

Her words caught Five’s attention, who simply replied “I’ll tell you what it is. She got laid.”

“She what?”, Two replied at the same time you almost screamed “Five!”

Your cheeks were bright red but thankfully you didn’t get the chance to continue the chat, thanks to a knock on the door.

“You girls ready?” One voice came muffled from behind the door. You exchanged a quick look with Two and Five before following them to the hallway. The heels you were wearing weren’t the comfiest thing ever, but you knew how to move. They weren’t that big deal.

When you got to the dining room, everyone was there. One was wearing a bulletproof vest and he was making sure that his guns were loaded. Two was standing right next to you and she was following closely Three’s movements — you were pretty sure they had something going on, too. The latter was tying his jacket with an amused grin on his face.

Then there was Four, in his typical jumpsuit and a black beanie covering his blonde hair. But it wasn’t his clothing that got your attention — his green eyes were all over your body. His intense staring brought back the memories of the previous day and you were sure you’d blushed hardwhen his eyes met yours. He winked at you and you shook your head in amusement, making your gaze run to the rest of the group.

Five was now chatting with Six and they were gesturing towards the gas can she was holding. Seven was on his own, closely cleaning his rifle in silence.

“Okay guys, it’s time.” One looked at each and everyone of you. The determination in his eyes made you actually believe that you could make it. That you could finally take Kuklinski down.

“Let’s do this”, Six said with a big smile, followed by Three who said “Ay papi, we’re gonna take that motherfucker down.”

“Merde à tous.” You didn’t speak french, but you smiled at Two’s words anyways.

“Y’all know what to do, so let’s go.” Seven was the first to get out of the door, followed by Five.

Nervousness was eating you alive and the thought of facing Harry — Four’s brother — and then Kuklinski did nothing but make you sweat even more. As the rest of the group left to the cars, you were about to follow them when Four grabbed your hand.

You gave him a look from above your shoulder, followed by a smile. “Be careful, ‘kay?”

Four tightened the grip on your hand at his words and you just pursed your lips, fully turning towards him.

You let go of his hand only to place it on his cheek, looking directly at his green eyes. “Please, please stay alive.”

Four exhaled deeply before placing his lips on yours. It wasn’t a soft, delicate kiss like the ones of the day before. He kissed you with passion and desire, with desperation, almost as if he never wanted to let you go. You truly wished you never had to leave, you didn’t want to get in that car and leave him behind to do his job,

But you had to.

So you backed away from him, caressing his cheek for the last time before clearing your voice and whispering “Let’s go.”

The ride to Kuklinski’s building was silent. Extremely silent, except for Six’s little taps on the steering wheel. It was just the two of you plus Five. Two and Three were coming on another car, One was directing it all from a roof as Four and Seven were taking their positions.

When you finally got there, you gave a last look at Six. He pursed his lips, holding the wheel a little tighter while saying “Good luck, girls. I’ll be waiting you.”

You smiled at him before getting off the car, standing right next to Five. You didn’t start walking and neither did she, so you turned towards her. You didn’t say anything, but from the look in her eyes you knew she wanted to say something, too.

There was no time for pleasantries.

The earpiece was well hidden under your curled hair as you walked through the metal detector undisturbed. One was a bloody genius. You grabbed your briefcase and gave Five a quick look as she took a seat in the waiting area as you walked toward the reception.

“Good morning. How can I help you?” A blonde, middle-aged lady politely smiled at you.

“I have an appointment with Mr. Longbourn.”

As the lady checked your words on her laptop, your hands were starting to sweat for the nervousness. You forced yourself not to give a look around you, trying not to look suspicious, and the lady looked right at you only a few seconds after. “Mr. Longbourn is ready for you, Miss. His office is in the fourth floor.”

You thanked her in a whisper and a polite smile before walking towards the elevator. You knew there were cameras watching you as the elevator lifted, so when One asked you through the earpiece “Eight, you okay?”, you limited yourself to hum “Huh-huh.”

“Zip line secure”, you heard Four saying through the earpiece.

“It’s a good ride, One”, Seven said. Their chats were helping you not to overthink, distracting you. “A little scary up here, but...”

“Nah, this is fun. Don’t be a pussy, Seven”, Four immediately replied and it made you smile.

When you got to the fourth floor you switched off your earpiece, so that you could only communicate with One. As much as you wanted to hear Four and make sure he was fine, he was a distraction. A big one.

Harry’s office was easy to find — his name was written all over the wall glass. Funny how he was the exact opposite of his brother. At least Four wasn’t a bloody criminal. Not anymore, at least.

You knocked at the door before entering the room, getting ready to out in place the greatest play in the world. “Mr Longbourn”, you said with a smile, catching his attention.

His eyes moved from the laptop to you, but when his green eyes started to run all over your body, it was nothing compared to Four. Harry’s staring repulsed you. “It’s Harry for you, my dear.”

He shook your hand and you took a seat in one of the chairs right in front of his desk. Now that you knew his story, you could tell that he was trying to hide his English accent by faking an American one. Little did he know.

“I recall that you’re leaving for an international meeting tomorrow, am I right?” You really wished he wasn’t Four’ brother so that the group could take care for him because of his actions.

You faked a smile. “I am, indeed. You recall correctly.”

“You’re even prettier than the last time I saw you.”

Filthy bastard. You truly hoped Four wasn’t paying attention to your little chitchat with his brother. “Thank you, Harry.”

“So”, he said by rubbing his hands “what have you got for me?”

You never had the chance to reply because of the gunshots. A lot of them, probably coming from the lower floor. Harry’s attention had been caught by them and he didn’t notice you extract a gun from your briefcase. “Hands up”, you said with a grin by pointing the gun at him.

His brows were narrowed in surprise, his lips parted because of the shock. “What the fuck are you doing?”

“I said hands up”, you repeated in a higher tone, given that he hadn’t done as ordered.

Harry placed both his hands on his head and you carefully walked towards him, still pointing the gun at him as you searched him looking for a weapon. You clicked on the earpiece and told One “Harry’s clear.”

“Good”, he immediately replied and you noticed he was out of breath. “Bring him to the meeting point.”

You heard other gunshots as you tried to avoid Harry’s shocked gaze. “Who are you?”

The tip of your gun was pressed against his back and when he gave you a look from above his shoulder you simply said “I’m Eight. Now shut up and walk or I’ll make you.”

“I did nothing wrong”, he tried to justify himself.

“Yeah”, you puffed. “Nothing at all. Try telling that to the families of all the people who’ve died because of you and your fuckin’ boss.”

On your way to the upper floor you met one of Kuklinski’s guard. Right before he could shoot at you, you killed him. It was wrong, so bloody wrong, but it had to be done. He fell to the ground like a puppet. Harry gasped and you tried not to think about what you’d just done. “Eight, the floor is clear. You’re free to move”, Seven told you through the earpiece.

Holding Harry’s shirt with one hand and the gun with the other, you walked upstairs. Your senses were on alert, ready to spot the slightest movement of your enemies. Harry didn’t say anything, but on the last step of the stairs he turned towards you. He tried to disarm you by bending your arm — he might’ve had the brute force needed, but he wasn’t trained like you and sure as hell he wasn’t thinking clearly.

Your grip on the gun was firm when you pushed away Harry’s arm and kicked him right in the undercarriage, making him grunt of pain. All you had to do was push him a little to make him sit down on the stairs and you pointed your gun right at his head. “Tell me, Harry. Have you ever watched Chicago?”

“What?” He was seriously confused.

“Chicago”, you replied. “The musical with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger.”

“Yeah, I guess so?”

You leaned towards him so that your face was just a few inches away from his, but you made sure your gun was still pointed at his forehead. “You try to do that one more time, and you’ll end up like one of those boys. I may be a girl, but sure as hell I’m stronger than you. I can still blow your head off.”

Where did those words come from? This wasn’t you.

The sound of broken glasses made you smile, giving you the sign that the plan was proceeding as planned. “Eight, you okay?”

You sighed in relief by hearing Four’s voice. You forced Harry to stand up and you pushed him into the room where Two and Three were waiting. You spotted them in the distance but you couldn’t see them clearly. “I’m fine, yeah. Where the hell are you?”

“Got stuck at the roof. I’m on my way.” And by doing so he switched off the earpiece.

Thank God Four was fine.

“The floor’s clear, Eight.” Seven was monitoring the situation in the distance and you just nodded at his words.

Only when you walked towards Two and Three you noticed they were pointing their guns right at Kevin Kuklinski. You froze right behind Harry, your hands starting to shake at the sight of the men that had killed your parents.

“Eight.” Two caught your attention and you slowly moved your gaze to her. She nodded at you, silently saying to move closer to them.

So you did — you pushed Harry who complained quietly and you made him sit down to a chair right next to Kuklinski.

It was the latter who broke the silence by saying “I know you.”

Now that Harry was being monitored by Three, you could finally look at Kuklinski. “Do you remember me?”

Those bastard’s eyes — so dark that they seemed black — were fixed on yours. You had your father’s eyes and he’d probably recognised them. “Y/L/N”, Kuklinski said with a smirk. A strand of grey and black hair had fallen into his forehead and if he didn’t have his hands tied, he’d have probably moved it.

“In the flesh.” You tightened the grip on your gun, holding it with both hands.

“I remember your parents. How silly they’ve been in trusting me.”

Your knuckles had turned white and you were trying to contain yourself. Without looking away from him and his cold eyes, you asked Two “Where’s One?”

“On his way.”

“Fuck.”

“They got what they deserved”,  Kuklinski kept going. What was he trying to do?

“Shut the fuck up.” You switched on the earpiece. “One, where the hell are you?”

All you heard from the other side were gunshots.

“Do I know you?” Harry had a very bad timing.

Footsteps were approaching you and they caught Three’s attention. Kuklinski’s guards were more numerous than you expected and they just kept coming. “Shut up, Harry.”

“We killed her parents”, Kuklinski said with a grin. “You should’ve heard them begging for mercy.”

That was enough. Without thinking twice about it, you pointed your gun at Kuklinski and fired. Again and again. The thud of the gunshots was echoing in your ears and you felt numb. You just couldn’t feel anything.

“Hey”, Two said by placing a hand on your shoulder. “He’s dead.”

Without even realising it your eyes’d become teary, you bit your lower lip to make it stop shaking and you lowered the gun.

Kevin Kuklinki was finally dead. He’d gotten what he deserved and it felt so good. So right.

It wasn’t the right time for celebrations, though. Half of the group was still in trouble, and there was still Harry to be taken care of.

“Four?” No answer. You exchanged a quick look with Two and Three but they just shook their heads. “Four?!”

When Four finally replied, your heart sank. “He’s gonna kill me.”

Paradise City part 4

Summary: A boring town with nothing to do. Will the blue eyed drummer save you from it?

Chapter summery: You go to the boys show and you and Roger get drunk together.

A/N: I havn´t proof read it, so there will probebly be a bunch och grammatcal errors.

Warnings: Mentions on smut, Alcohol

You walked in to the pub just five minutes before the band would start up. You went staright up to the bar, but before you had the chance to order anything, sombody tapped your shoulder, causing you to turn around. Brian was standing there offering you a weak smile.

“´bout to start, wanna come backstage instead of sitting back here”? he asked with an little amount of stress in his voice. You just nodded a smile and followed him as he began walking towards the stage.

When you got there, Brian excused himself, needing to do some set up last minute. There was a small couch next to the stage wich you took a seat on, waiting for the show to start. Just minutes later the band walked past you on their way to the stage, greeting you quickly, but you got a quick kiss on the cheek from Roger wich made your cheeks heet up, hoping no one noticed.

Roger sat down at his drumset while Freddie walked up to the mic.

“Welcome beautiful ladies and gentlemen, we´re Queen and we are here tonight to give you a little treat. This first song, we call The Night Comes Down”!

You now understood their name were Queen. You liked it, short but classy. Roger started hitting his drums. You remembered he was good, but not this good. Then the bass work started, wich really impressed you. God they were good, you felt so bad that only such few people had heard them yet.

The rest of the show went on like this, they playing what looked effortless for them and you being blown away by them. 

When the set was finished, all the boys walked staight to their waterbottles, standing at the side of the stage, close to were you were sitting.

Roger walked up to you moments later, laying down in the couch and putting his head in your lap. He had his eyes closed in exhaustion, you looked down on him, studing his beautiful features, he really was beautiful, and god you wanted to reach your head down and kiss him, but you didn´t want to give i just that easy. 

You brushed some hair our of his face and he hummed at the sansation. You softly caresed his face and he opened his eyes, looked up at you and gave you one of the softest purest smilses you´d ever seen. You reurned it and then leaned your head back against the couch and closed your eyes, enjoying the moment.

You didin´t know how long you had been laying there, when Freddie came up to you, softly asking if you wanted to come witch to the bar for a drink, like he was carfull waking someone up.

“We´ll be out soon” Roger answered hazy. You were pleased with his answer. You didn´t really feel like getting up just yet.

Freddie walked away and you made yourself comfortable again, when Roger quietly spoke up

“Can I tell you something” Roger asked, his eyes still closed.

You just hummed your response.

“I´m very glad I met you”

A smile crept upon your face as he said that

“I´m really glad I met you too Roger” the smile still on your face as you said so.

Roger got up from the couch and you opened you eyes

“wanna go out there now”? he held his hand out to you with a smile on his face. You took his hand, got up and Roger led you down to the bar where you ordered two shots each. But instead of drinking them at once, you made a game out of it.

“okay, so we´ll each ask each other a question and when you´ve answered the question, you take the a shot” you explained “I´ll go first” you said.

“go on then”

“how many people have you slept with and who were they” you smiled at your own question

“wow okay, well I think its about twenty- twentiyfive. And they were my two girlfriends, a few i went on some dates with and girls i picked up after shows and at bars” He told and drowned his first shot

“same question for you” he said after he put down his glass.

“seven people. Three of them boyfriends, two of them friends and two one night stands” you said and drowned your shot.

“how did it happen with your friends”?

“well one of them, we got really drunk at home and it just happend, the other one, well we were just haning out and figured we´d just try it out” you drownded your second drink “t´was a question” you said before Roger objected.

“But wow though. Are you still friends with these people”?

“yeah, of couse, she´s still my roomate and i´m still great friends witch the other guy”

“you and your roomate had sex? and it´s never akward, and she´s a she?”

“yup, we had sex, its not akward, why would it be? She is a girl, why?”

“just wonderin´” he said and took his second shot. You both orderd two new shots each, both feeling effected by the buzz and wanting more of it. 

The shots came and you drowned both of them together.

Secods later Brandy(you´re a fine girl) by Looking Glass started blasting trough the speakers of the pub and you jumped up from your chair

“I love this song! Roger pleaaaasee come dance with me!”

“you know i don´t do that” 

“you regreted not coming dancing with me last time, yeah? Do you really want to do that again?” you smirked at at him. 

“that is very true” he said as he got up from his chair. You took his hand and you two stumbled out on the dancefloor like a couple of drunk buffoons. You started dancing like fools and laughing your asses of. The alcohol got the best of you and you turned around an pressed your body up aganist his, he was pretty drunk himself and put his hands on your hips and swayed his body with yours. You knew you were looking like a couple of idiots but you didn´t care, you were having a great time. 

Then out of nowhere you both burst into laughter. You were out of breath and had to cling on each other for support. 

You then decided you´d find the other members of the band. You got out of the big crowd that was the dancefloor and went loking for the remainence of Queen. It didn´t take very long to find them, they were all sitting in a red leather booth along with two other girls wich you just could assum were groupies trying to get in to one, or more, of the bandmembers pants. And Roger certainly caught their interest when you two joined the table, but neither of you noticed that, being very giggly and dazed still. 

When you sat down you saw a full glass of some sort of liquid, not knowing whos it was, and grabbed it, drank half of its contains and handed the rest to roger sitting very close next to you

“thanks, love” he slurred while atempting to be cheeky. After he drowned the drink he turned to you, you faces only inches apart. 

“can I ask you something?” Roger spoke

“ofcourse you can daarniing!” 

“I´m not snooping but tell me how you had sex with that friend of yours that was a girl, I want to know how it workes then”

“well, it´s just like the kind of sex you´d have but like before you´d put it in, like you use your mouth, fingers and toys if you would want that, we didn´t, I mean ´m  no expert, iv´e only done it that one time”

“and it got you of properly?”

“defenitly”

“is it better?”

“oh i think that really depends on who it´s with”

“do you ever feel like doing it again?”

“yeah, sometimes” you said as you reached for a glass of a trey a waitress just put down and drowned it and Roger did the same.

“stop stealing our drinks, will ya” Brian turned to face you

“sorry Mr. May” Roger rolled his eyes and you giggled at him.

Thats when roger felt a hand on his thigh, first he thought it was your hand, but then he realised your hands were still on the table. He looked to his side and noticed it was one of the groupies whos´ hand was laying dangerously high on his thigh. He looked up at her and she batted her eyelashes at him obviously trying to seduce him.

“Hi” the girl cooed at him. Roger state of mind was very hazy at the moment and right now he was just really confused.

“Do you want sex, is that it?” Roger asked the her

“Mhmm” she girl nodded and moved her hand ever further up his thigh.

“Well in that case, this is your lucky day because I´ve heard this bird right here is a marvelous shag” he said tryning not to laugh while pointing at you.

“Indeed I am” you said, who had been watching the interaction “you interested?” you giggled and that turned in to a huge laugh fit beetween you and Roger. But the girl just ignored that and moved her hand impossiby higher up Rogers´ thigh, which did not go unnoticed by you. 

“Hey! Don´t do that. thank you” You exclaimed while you pushed the girls hand of Rogers´ thigh. The girl gave up and moved her attention to Brian, Who was in a converstion with John and one other guy you hadn´t seen before.

“Is sombody jelous?” Roger purred and you rolled your eyes

“Am not” you defended. 

“Oh , how the tables have turned” Roger smugly smirked.

“Yeah, Yeah, who even cares” 

“I do. And you are jelous” he teased. You just rolled your eyes but eventually it turned in to a yet another fit of giggles.

“Let´s get out of here shall we?” you suggested still giggling a bit. Roger smirked up at you and nodded. You got out of the booth not minding saying goodbye to the others. You two stumbled trough the pub together, with Rogers´ hand on the small of your back. 

You had just gotten to the door and were about to open it, when sombody beat you to it and opened the door from outside.

Sitting upright, you loudly sighed as you ran your hands through your hair. Your fingers tangled, you got them out, it was fine. It's all fine.

But what if it really... wasn't?

Your curiosity got the better of you as you sat to think. Well, you were trying to think, anyway.

You should-- no.

A pause.

Well...

It was illegal, but you wanted answers. They were so attainable, too.

So is imprisonment. You thought.

...

It only took you about five more minutes of battling with your conscience, and not long after that to hack into HYDRA's files, and the 'AVENGER INITIATIVE' files.

After that, it was just sorting through everything you thought was connected, and everything you thought was stuff to ask about another day. (An Example would be the weird shit you'd seen on some of the adoption sheets you saw.)

When you saw it, and you pieced it together, your breath just kind of... stopped. Your eyes went wide, and you felt a shiver down your spine.

Slamming your laptop closed, you begin to panic.

"Y/n L/n, are you alright? Do I need to inform..." that was the last thing you heard F.R.I.D.A.Y. say before the blackout that ensued moments later.

...

You woke up, strapped to a stretcher in the lab, an IV strip in your arm, and both Tony and Stephen at your side, staring at you intensely. The sound of a heartbeat-- your heartbeat-- rang out from the monitor next to you, telling everyone that you were awake, yet calm. You didn't really understand what'd happened for a few moments, but you started to remember what'd happened before you'd blacked out.

The file you'd put together under the 'AVENGER INITIATIVE'  having to deal with Micheal was printed and on the table next to you, a picture of your foster brother peaking out.

As you looked at it,  you felt the panic swell in your chest again. You didn't really remember why, until the golden America boy himself walked in with a glare that could kill off all the bloodlines of everyone in the building. (Or in simpler terms, he was not happy, and looked like he'd gotten literally zero hours of sleep.) You observed the hickeys on his neck, but decided to think nothing of it as you met his gaze with a stern look of your own. (Look at the balls on you, eh?)

"Steve, you look upset. Do you want to talk about it?" Bad move on your behalf, but you didn't so much as look as he clenched his jaw and fists, narrowing his eyes at you angrily.

You noticed the way Tony cringed, and the way Stephen held back a sigh. Your heart rate monitor beep faster, but you didn't visibly react in any other way. The panic in your chest was still there, but it was growing quieter in comparison to your quickly growing rage.

"You might as well tell me when my funeral is, cause y'all look like you're gonna kill me." You sighed, trying to lighten up because for some reason they couldn't. This had been far from the first time you'd passed out from an anxiety attack, so how was this time different? Did you actually die this time? (If so, why the fuck would they care?)

You heard a sigh come from behind you, which caused you not to flinch, but instead slowly look behind the stretcher as much as you could manage. It was Bruce, Natasha, Clint (who honestly look pretty happy and amused), T'challa, Rhodey, a pouting Wade Wilson, and finally, the infamous Nicholas Fury.

Aside from Clint, Fury actually didn't look mad at you. He looked more amused or impressed, and you had no doubt in your mind someone had called him cause they had no idea what the fuck they were going to do with you.

"Fury." you tried to nod.

Nick nodded back, then slowly moved past Banner to your "bed" side. After a moment of looking into your eyes, which you didn't really understand at first, he began to undo the straps of your arms. For the entirety of you being awake, you had barely moved, and the restraints hadn't moved much either. You were in an almost completely calm state, with understandable amounts of anger and panic.

Bruce reached a hand out, "Don't." he sternly muttered.

You felt a ping of something similar to betrayal, but you pushed it aside.

"She's not a threat anymore, Dr." Fury stared him down as he spoke, pausing on his job loosening the restraints, "She hasn't moved since she woke up, and she's in no position to be talked to." He undid the rest of the strap on your left hand, moving in to work on your arm's strap, "Besides, it's not like you don't have the ability to debilitate her without the straps is it?"

There was silence.

"That's what I thought."

It didn't take long for you to be sitting on the edge of the couch in the Living room. What did take forever, though, was the conversation that ensued.

"Is anyone gonna tell me why I was strapped to a stretcher with an IV? Cause, not gonna lie, that's something I've been curious about." Y/n asked.

Everyone in the room was quiet for a moment. You wondered if it'd have been the same way with your siblings, or if they'd have gotten to the point with you by now. Well, you were almost sure that they would've gotten to the point because Micheal was really bad about hiding his feelings about other people's flaws. That's one of the (many) reasons people didn't usually like him. (He was also just really aggressive, but that's just a part of him now.)

Thankfully, Wade quickly got tired of all the quiet.

Unfortunately for him, he started everything off by laughing.

"C'mon everyone," he chuckled, "Why're you being so serious about this? You would've had to tell her eventually, so things are out of the way now, right?" he held a smile for a moment before quickly dropping it and rolling his eyes. "You all are seriously a bunch of stuck ups," he dug his palms into his eyes, "She was literally trained to find answers when she needed them, then you encouraged the behavior, and kept secrets from her. It's not that hard to think through and find her reasoning!" Another exasperated groan.

Steve gave Wade a side glare, "Are you blaming us for this?" he asked, his voice gruff and angry.

"Well, it's not that I'm blaming you captain red-white-and-blue-all-over. However, I will agree to you accusing me of saying that Y/n isn't entirely at fault, but that's mainly because she's not entirely at fault. Catch my drift?" Wade winked with a smile.

Steve was admittedly confused by most things that came out of Wade's mouth, but he nodded nonetheless.

"Who would you blame then?" Fury asked, looking more amused than having previously been. He moved forward, his chin resting on his hands as his elbows sat upon his knees.

"Well, Y/n hacked the Avengers and HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D., sure, but she also gathered all the information to put the pieces together and spare you guys the burden of having to go to her and tell her yourselves. She did you a bit of a favor. Plus, wasn't she doing what y'all were telling her to? Hacking people and finding information isn't just a HYDRA thing she can't get rid of. It's also a tiny baby thing that you took in and raised, encouraged to have grandkids, and live with you instead of in its own house where it belongs. You played the cool parent and said I'd rather you do it in the house when, heads up, that still causes addiction." Wade laughed, "And then it blew up in your faces!" he lightly exclaimed, his voice breathy as he let out a small laugh, "The funny part is how mad you are about this! It's like a tiny teen tantrum." his shoulders shrugged, "And it's so cute!" he squealed, patronizingly.

You smiled, Wade was your favourite for a reason. He was usually pretty funny, and he always stood up for the kids, unless it was a matter of safety. This, apparently, didn't seem to be a matter of safety and Wade thought you were completely fine and far from endangering anyone. Hearing that in his voice made you feel a lot better than you had waking up, and some of your panic went away.

"So... what did I do after I blacked out then?" You asked, surprised at how quiet you were being. Then again, it was really hard to follow the conversation. It was kinda like they sounded farther away than they were, and you were kind of zoning out.

"You just startled Steve and Bucky with some violent questions last night. You were reading his mind very violently, so your eyes were glowing as per usual, and it was dark so they didn't know it was you right away. They were very alarmed in their vulnerable state so they attacked you. You've been out for three days without anyone aside from Bruce, Tony and Stephen to see you. We called Fury yesterday to ask what to do since Bucky doesn't... " Clint paused, trying to find the right words.

"Randomly turn into a psychotic animal like you," Steve growled. (Much to your amusement.)

You smiled, "Wow, so venomous, Steve, I'm hurt. Truly." then mockingly snapped your jaw in his direction, laughing only moments afterward.

After another breath, you thought for a moment, realizing what you'd just heard about you doing. You weren't actually psychotic... were you? Your smile dropped and you were no longer looking at any particular person, but more so at the ground. You really like Steve and Buck. they were a cute couple, and they did a really good job of making sure Chloe was taken care of, and they loved Katie just as much, even if she wasn't technically their responsibility.

A sigh left your lips, "Look, Steve, I really don't mean to randomly freak out, and you should know that I've been working on it." You lick your lips. Huh, they're chapped. Not surprising. "And I'm glad you love Bucky enough to see past his flaws, but ignoring them is just plain ignorant." You look up at Steve now, starting to feel the anger again as he looks back at you, his eyes cold.

"I was with James while he was busy being the Winter Soldier. He trained me as his understudy for a long time, and if you really think that he didn't have control of himself back then I honestly feel sorry for you." You were lying, all you could feel was rage, but you didn't care. You'd feel sorry for him later.

"Bucky raged out just like me, if not worse. He had little to no control over his mind back then. It literally took him years of mental torture and assistance to get to where he is today with you. Now I'm glad that you love Bucky and I'm happy that he trusts you, but doing something so..." You were raising your voice now. You didn't mean to, but you also didn't really care. "So childish and fucking revolting! James was like a really scary father to me when I needed it and dismissing all of his progress, while trying to take a swing at me? Wow, Mr. Fucking America would he be ashamed of you! That's probably why he's not here right now, huh? You sent him away so he couldn't sympathize with me and try to defend me?"

Nat gave you a look you had yet to see and couldn't quite place. "Y/n, that's not--" You cut her off. Right now, there was nobody with high authority on your side, aside from maybe Nick Fury who still had yet to say something.

"Can I go now? I'm tired." despite the fact that you'd been out for three days (which, now that you think about it, kinda shocked you) you hadn't really slept. You were unconscious, not resting, not sleeping, unconscious. The more you listened to everyone talk to you, the more you just wanted to curl up and sleep.

The seconds passed by, and the room was silent. Every moment just weighed you further down. Fury was looking at everyone, who were just staring at you. Eventually, he and Tony locked eyes, and they nodded.

"Y/n, go rest. We'll call you to a whole team meeting later." Nick jerked his head in the direction of the door, and you took that as you que.

With that, you sighed, standing up and halfway through realizing you had a lot less strength than you realized. You stumbled and fell, which had Steve immediately on his feet to try and help you.

You could feel your eyes glow with anger as your gaze met his within a millisecond of him moving to help you.

"Don't fucking touch me." you spat, almost choking because it felt like you had broken your finger when you landed of your hands and you'd started tearing up.

Now, saying this any other day probably wouldn't have made Steve back off, but the sheer betrayal in your voice, the pure rage directed solely towards him, and the fact that you had choked up with tears in your eyes caused him not only to back off, but also caused him to regret the past three days of hatred he'd held towards you.

With that, you somehow managed to push yourself up and walk to your room, only daring to cradle your hand after you rounded one of the many corners of the big, now pretty empty mansion.

Sleeping wasn't easy at first, but once asleep you didn't dream (a true gift from whatever God was up there). Instead, you were in the void, softly breathing and actually relaxed once.

You were at peace.

Your heart was aflutter as you tried to casually look across the hall from your locker. Your eyes landed on a confused Peter Parker, who had only just realized a small pink note had fallen to his feet. You felt your skin grow hot and your fingers tremble at your sides. He picked up the note delicately in his hands and scanned it over before suddenly looking up and around himself wildly, pink flushing across his cheeks.  You tried to fight a smile as you turned your body and held your books close to your chest, walking the other way. At the beginning of the school year, you could never have dreamed of slipping a love note into your crush’s locker, but now it seemed you had suddenly gotten a new sense of courage. You thought that it suited you.

You had fallen for Peter when you had first started at Midtown. It wasn’t something dramatic like out of a movie or anything. You actually had met on the train on the way to your first day at Midtown. When you walked onto the bus and bent down to tie your shoelaces, you heard a loud stuttered spilling noise and winced. Perfect, your first day of school and you were already making a complete and utter fool of yourself. You sighed and bent down to pick up your things when you saw someone else’s hand touch your textbook, helping you pick it up. Your eyes lifted to his face and you felt yourself forget everything that you had been doing for the past five seconds.

“Need help?” You blushed. You thought his voice sounded just as his actions were: incredibly sweet and unappreciated.

“T-thank you so much!!” You stammered nervously as you picked the rest of your things off the dirty floor of the train. “Great way to start the new school year am I right??” You laughed taking the books from his hands and sliding them into your bag.

“You’re starting your first day too? Where are you going?” He asked with a tilt of his head.

“Midtown tech,” you answered. His smile only brightened in his realization. “Same here! Looks like we’ll be seeing more of each other,” He stretched his hand out for you to take. “I’m Peter, Peter Parker.” You took his hand shaking it gently. “My name’s Y/N Y/L/N, It’s nice to meet you, Peter,” You let go of him and held onto the trains pole so you didn’t fall as it pulled off to school. 

The conversation was all small talk but you felt yourself developing small innocent feelings for him. When you had gotten to school you bid each other farewell and went your separate ways.  Since then, you didn’t have the pleasure of being close to him as you may have wanted. You may have said hi once in a while as you passed one another in the hall, and waved at one another if you were in the same class. 

Of course, that just wasn’t good enough for you.

You saw him practically everywhere, and as much as your heart wanted to drag you over to him and talk his ear off your brain held you back. Peter was a grade above you, older than you, he probably didn’t want some kid following him around like a lost puppy. He must have seen you as someone he just kept tabs on to make sure you weren’t going to embarrass him by association. However, this year was different. You were older now, still a year behind him but at least you weren’t baby-faced! Still, you felt your heart quiver every time you tried to take a step towards him if he stood in the hall.

Don’t do it! Your brain would shout. We aren’t ready for the rejection you might face if you approach him. You felt your heart ache slightly when you’d see him laugh at some dumb joke from far away with Ned. You wished he would smile at you like that. 

That’s when you decided to write your Juliet letters.

They were never meant to be sent at first, they were only a way to just flush your feelings out of your system so you could give your poor heart a proper break. 

But of course, you had to tell your dumb friend.

“What the hell Y/N?! You have letters and you’re not going to give them to him???” your friend Eve said staring at you as if you were literally the most stupid person she had met in her life.

“Of course not!!! D-do you know what would happen if he were to get his hands on these???” You asked holding up a small neatly folded pink piece of paper. Eve stared at it for a moment before yanking it out of your hand and speeding down the hall.

“EVE!!!” You screamed trying to race down the hall. She cut the corner incredibly fast in what seemed like split seconds. Curse you for of course, making friends with someone who ran for the school’s track team. You turned the corner and felt your heart sink six feet below. 

She was staring at you mischievously. You shook your head quickly in a weak attempt to stop her. She was like a cat pushing a glass cup on the table.

“Eve I swear to-” 

The letter was dropped into the slits of Peter’s locker and she turned away wiggling her fingers in a wave. “You’ll thank me later Y/N I love you bye!!” You sang before breaking out in a dash down the hall.

Your face nearly turned red in embarrassment and anger. “I HATE YOU!!!!” You screamed loudly before realizing people were staring at you causing your face to practically light on fire. You ducked into the nearest bathroom staring at yourself in the mirror.

“Is it too late to transfer schools again…” You muttered to yourself. --- Peter let his hands open the letter delicately in the middle of study hall. He had wanted to read it for a while now but his studies had prevented him from going back to the small note until now. His eyes scanned the letter and his heart began to do summersaults with every sentence he read. 

   Dear Peter Parker,

   If I were to pick a flower for each and every time that I thought of you, I’m sure by now I would have robbed each and every rose from the ground in which they stand. I’ve sighed so much over your warm eyes that I find myself shocked that I still even have air in my lungs to carry another breath.      I wish I could talk to you… I really do. But I’m scared. I know that you have better things to focus on than me. But I can’t help myself anymore. If I keep these feelings inside of me another day I think I might explode.    My knight in shining armor, there’s not a day where I don’t remember what you’ve done for me. To you, it might not have felt like anything, but for me it meant the world to have someone be so kind to me when we had only just met.    If you are as adoring and lovely as Romeo would that make me your Juliet?  I’d hope not, I don’t think I’d be a very good Juliet at all. I’d fight the world in order to earn a place at your side.    What am I saying? Here I am professing my undying feelings for you in a cowardly letter. Maybe one day I’ll have the courage to speak to you outside of these pink papered walls. I hope that I can. Till then, I’ll continue to spill my feelings all over these pages like the idiot that I am.

Ned nudged Peter who’s face was the same shade as the paper that he held in his jittering hands. “Dude, what is that?” He asked leaning over to read the letter. His eyes widened slowly and he blinked looking back up at Peter. “Dude….” Peter looked back at him. “Ned we need to find this girl.” He said suddenly. He looked down at your words again his eyes rereading every perfectly curved cursive letter and word. His heart was trembling. “Like. As soon as possible Ned I’m not even joking.” he finished whispering. He handed him the letter before looking around the room feverishly. It could have been any one of these girls in his study hall. He put his face in his hands to hide his growing blush. How in the world was he going to find you?

Peter had just gotten the fifth letter stuffed in his locker again and internally swooned. Ned peeked over his shoulder.

“Oh? Has Juliet written you another letter?” He mocked in a baby voice. “Shut up Ned!” Peter punched him in the shoulder. “She’s amazing…” He finished dreamily, sliding the note in his backpack. It was a tradition now to read them once the school day was over with so he could properly freak out in peace.

“Peter, you don’t even know who she is,” Ned said skeptically. “She could be an old lady or some douche trying to pull a prank on you or-”

“She’s real Ned,” Peter said with confidence leaning against his locker now. “I’ve got spidey sense. I know she’s real,” he muttered under his breath.

“What? Bro, that’s not how it even works!!” Ned rolled his eyes starting to walk into class.

“We have to figure this out Ned I’m not joking!!!
