ramble of my scattered thoughts on the piece under cut as usual cuz i love talking 😋

This has been an idea I've been cookin for a while, and it was so cluttered and unlike any other ensemble piece I've made... and I decided I oughta do it anyway. I love Miku, I love Vocaloid, and I wanted to do something really ambitious and crazy for her anniversary. Crazy that she's turning her "canon" age this year TwT

I had the idea floating around since like, May...? And then finally started acting on it around June 18. I'm terrible with deadlines, obvious with how I can never make a silly birthday post in time, so I started wayyyy ahead to make sure I have some room to be lazy lol, especially with an idea as ambitious as this.

This was finished on July 12! So I had to sit on this for an annoying amount of time. Very difficult for someone like me who just wants to talk about everything I'm working on to the masses. But at the very least, that gave me the time to work on the draft for this post.

Here's some ~behind the scenes~ scribbles leading up to the finished piece!

Left is the chicken scratch plan i made in my handy dandy notebook (whenever things are getting real and ambitious, i always made a rough ROUGH plan in there. Usually I'd do a rough pass of the full thing, but this was too complicated for me to do traditionally. I majorly benefited from digital tools to make this possible). CyberDiva and CyberSongman were considered, but I ended up cutting them cuz I just didn't feel like drawing them sorry-- (just pretend they're off to the side. They gave Ruby and Clara the pizza lol). Right is the "final" completed sketch (before I decided to include Chika mid-way through coloring and VY1 and VY2 near the finish line). I started by drawing the main "groups" separated on a different canvas so I can plop them into the main canvas for easy rearranging and transforming. However I got lazy and ended up drawing everyone in the bottom right corner directly on the canvas since I liked seeing the big picture of everyone's positions. Y'know.

Almost excluded Chika! But I like her design so much that I just felt like including her last-minute. You win this time, Chika fans. VY1 and VY2 were very close to being cut! I added them when I began doing the banner and thought "eh why not". I figured their non-human designs would be pretty easy to include pushed back in the bg. Ik VY1 is more commonly associated with the fan design, but I referenced the hairpin cuz it was simpler and the fan looked very annoying to draw 😭

Sorry to the fans of many Vocaloids I had to cut because this composition was insane enough as is. I promise I wanted to include fellas like CUL, LUMi and Sachiko 😭 I will admit I was a little biased on who I wanted to include over others. Like, I don't normally care for Bruno and Clara, but I wanted to get some more international 'loids in the mix. Also wanted to stick in the realm of official designs and not fan-designs since, as much as I can appreciate those, are just a whole "wait who is that guy supposed to be" situation I didn't wanna deal with. I also did wanna include even more character references through the balloons, but they ended up being kind of ugly and overcomplicated the BG :,) (Oh, and while this was originally planned to be a Vocaloid-only piece, I did end up including Teto, Neru, and Haku 'cuz those are Miku's besties dude!!! They may not be Officially in the club but they're her girls and it would be criminal to not invite them to her birthday).

Anyway, this project marks the first time I've drawn a lot of Vocaloids. Lily, Piko, Rana, Yuki, Yukari, Miki, Maika, and many more lol. All of 'em I've heard or seen in passing, but now I actually drew them, and some have really cool and fun designs!! I got into a habit of drawing Merli after this since I just love her design for example. And I'll probably be drawing more lol!!

Oh and the last thing I'll add for now!! The cake is indeed made up of various song references!! I wanted to reference the "big four" producers, just absolute icons in Vocaloid history. The pink/black checkerboard is "World is Mine" (Ryo), the crescents on the side is "Rolling Girl" (Wowaka), the smiley faces is "Matryoshka" (Hachi), and the three hearts on the side is "The Vampire" (DECO*27, which is sort of a symbol of his whole Mannequin album tbh). I know "The Vampire" is a bit modern but I couldn't think of anything else off the top of my head. I'm a fake DECO fan I know 😔 "Matryoshka" was originally going to be referenced in the colors of the candles but believe me it looked like shit so I just went for something else last minute 😭

Happy Birthday, Teto!!!!

It's a bit late, but I tried okay. I'm in so much pain and got very sick and drawing for like 2 weeks straight on this made everything so much worse haha whoops.

I was inspired to do something with Teto and Pokemon like the Miku x Pokemon Project Voltage illustrations from a while back. It took me a very long time to think of Pokemon choices. If you're asking why I didn't pick some obvious drill ones (Beedrill, Excadrill, etc), it's because I didn't want to draw em and that's that. There were supposed to be 19 illustrations but I'm in... too much pain. The concept art will be under the cut, including the missing Stellar Type! They may not be concepts like you're used to, but it was easier for me this way. Which Tetos are your favourites? 💖

Edit: This entire time I didn't realize SV Fire's concept had the bottom fringe wrong. Oh well. I was very sick it's fine you get the point just swap the dark and light blues ghfkjdghkj

In my previous post i talked about how I have a lotta scrapped MV ideas, well may as well dump some designs i've made based on songs over the years because like I probably wouldn't post these otherwize

for the record don't expect me to do anything with any of these, also these are from old to new some of these date back to early 2022 and it shows

This one i posted a storyboard for actually its An Aliens I Love You by Utsu-P.

I gave young Rin a sakura motif with her dress because of miku and rin meeting under a sakura tree, teen miku has a pink ribbion and hairclip to continue this. both rins bow and mikus outfit get darker outfits overtime to sybolize the song getting darker. I also gave adult rin the future rin hair. Miku's "alien" form is more or less how its described in the song tho i was lazy and didn't draw the 4 arms in the refs.

also Lily is Rins mom in this yup there she is indeed.

I actually have a lot of assets finished including the ones above i may show em off one day who knows.

i gave them both very cute and elegent outfits i think it matches the vibe of the song. The starry outfits are the real highlight. if you wonder how I drew em over and over i just copy pasted the stars on their dresses.

This one is Corona by Utsu-P no idea why i did it its probably not even in my top 20 Utsu-P songs i just had some brainworms that wore off. I finished like a minute of it I guess.

I really like rin's outfit. "goth metal astronaut" is such a weirdly specific concept but she absolutley nailed it. 10/10 desin

I also gave her a plaid skirt to match miku's concept desin because this song is like sorta miku becoming sentient or smth idk been a while since i read the lyrics.

I don't know why you are all sad. The eggs got together to plan Mothers' day, yes even the eggs that don't have moms, they wanted to celebrate their tias.

(I don't know if it like that in another counties but in Brazil Mothers' Day is not ajust about the celebration of your own mom, it is the celebration of mothers in general)

Pomme, Dapper, Em, Sunny, Pepito, 춘식  and Richas got to give their gifts to their moms.

Chay and Lullah helped Em and Pomme make cakes and collect flowers for all moms. They gave flower crowns to all moms that showed up.

Rámon and Léo helped Dapper and Pomme, Dapper wanted to build a giant duck statue for Baghera, Rámon and Pomme point that they need space for the party, it took sometime to convince Dapper they could not have the party on the top of the duck, they settle for a relativetly smaller duck statue.

Sunny was having difficulties coming up with a present for her mermaid mama, but she decided to make a bag with all the things they thought her mama could like: shells(certainly a mermaid likes shells), diamons, amethysts, any shiny cristal she could her hands on and also a little turtle for her mama! Every mermaid needs a pet turtle! It was really fun to do it, she got to go collect everything with Rámon, Em and Pepito!

Em, Richas and Pepito wanted to draw for their moms! Richas and Em got in a brief argument if only one of them should draw Bagi and who should do it.

Em: She was my mom first!

Richas: You have 3 other moms! I only have our mãe!

Pomme and Rámon had to get in the middle and convince them Bagi will be more than happy to receive two drawings from her kids.

(Pepito's was a noodles drawing and Pepito misspelled the entire card Pepito gave with the drawing. Rivers cried when she received it.)

춘식 wanted to make something nice to his omma YD, in Korean there is actually only Parents' Day, so I think 춘식 would also make gifts to all his parents. 춘식  made a chest for each parent and put carnation flowers and he decided to also give them sweets he made with the help of his siblings.

All the kids made small little gifts for their tias with the help of their parents.

The coparents also wanted to make something, all of them a bit more awkward than the other but they did their best. Bad, Étoiles and Aypierre tried to be more practical with their gifts for Baghera, giving her good armor and good food, Antoine probably gave Baghera something like a loaf of bread. Tubbo didn't know what to do, but then he settled for also a practical gift for Lenay. Favela were the most awkward ones with a variety of small gifts that were not particularly useful and some were sentimental, Bagi appreciated all the same. Pretty sure Pepito's dads tried something sweet but end up explonding something, somehow.

(Bagi was going to try make this quick, it was supposed to be a celebration to all the other moms too, she didn't want to bring the mood down, especially not for Em and Richas, but it felt wrong not do it, the little cupacke Em made and the beautiful blue flower she gave to her felt so heavy in her hands. When she reached the Miku statue she noticed somebody was already there. Roier. A bouquet lying on the statues. They didn't say anything to each other, but he watched while she put the cupcake and the flower on the ground. The stood in silence. There wasn't much to say. There was too much to say. The sunset was beautiful that day.)
