A product of the current hyperfocus on, of all things trains. I was looking through the tags and found humanisations of the ttte trains, and decided that I had to give it a go myself.

Gordon was always my favorite engine, and I've always pictured him as old and proud, so I've tried to reflect it in my design choices while trying to keep all of the key details from his face. I wanted to make it look like Gordon while keeping him in a uniform as well, rather than drawing him in his own shade of blue. I've just given him blue eyes to reflect him being a blue engine, and picked a blue railway uniform.

I did still want to give him his number though, so I just placed it on a small badge on his uniform with another one being for the North Western Railway.

I also really like my word art on this one for his name.

writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. Ever since mine crapped out I've been slowly and unconsciously shifting towards holding my head at an angle to put the good eye closer to the center. and human necks. are not meant to accommodate that sorta thing.
