hiii so ive had this idea for a while now but i just dont have the skills to write it myself, its not really a reader x character but more of a maybe actor!reader x the actor of the character if u get me??😭😭
so the idea is actor!reader plays a character that is also played as the love interest/partner of hwang inho (lee byung hun's character) and during their scenes together (like an intimate scene between their characters) reader just keeps messing up her lines or having trouble staying in character because she keeps getting flustered/shy by lee byung hun causing them to redo the scene over and over again so him and the whole cast just keeps laughing and teasing her about it😣😣🙏🙏🙏

(Y/n) knew this scene would be the hardest to film. Sure as a professional actor, she filmed multiple movies that had intimate scenes. However, (Y/n) never had a romantic interest in the other actors. There was an instant spark when she met Lee Byung-hun. His character happens to have a complex background and in this season goes undercover to destroy Gi-hun, Lee Jung-jae, in an attempt to show him no matter what, people are greedy. Thats when (Y/n) character is introduced. (C/n) is written to be the complete opposite of The Frontman, In-ho. She is kind, patient, understanding, caring, and meant to show the good in humanity even though she has been dealt only hardships in life. Throughout the season their love builds up, soft touches, knowing glances, and quick kisses in secret. All the while (Y/n) had been falling helplessly in love with Lee Byung-hun. Of course, the fans did not let this go unnoticed during their recent interviews. Social media had blown up with edits and multiple bloggers posting about the chemistry they shared. (Y/n) would not admit her guilty pleasure is watching those edits and making comments herself which and fans foaming at the mouths. Lee Byung-hun even found it humorous that people not only shipped their character but them as well. When any with him and (Y/n) not on set but together was posted the fans always blew the comment section up within minutes.
“Alright places everyone!” Hwang Dong-hyuk called as the crew rushed to make sure everything was set up in the correct frames. “(Y/n), Byung-hun are you all ready?” He asked kindly always wanting to double-check checking the actors were comfortable in scenes where they would be partially on display. (Y/n) nods even though slightly hesitant she walked onto the set and stood by the bathroom wall where the scene was going to be shot.
Byung-hun walked behind her with a smile, “Don’t be nervous (Y/n) this scene will be over before you know it.” It earned a shy smile from the actress leaning against the wall.
“I am not that nervous… It’s a while since I have done scenes like this. Alright, I think we are ready.” She told the director and Byung-hun nodded in agreement.
“Quiet on set, Take one, action!” He yelled and silence filled the room. (Y/n) could swear her heartbeat could probably be heard by how badly it was beating against her chest.
Byung-hun fell into character without hesitation moving to press (Y/n) the cold tile. She breathes heavily cheeks flushed looking into his eyes. “In-ho we can’t” She whispered as he began aggressively kissing up her neck pressing their bodies together. (Y/n) let out a whimper from the pleasure she felt.
“But you (C/n)” His voice went low showing his absolute dominance. (Y/n) wasn’t used to this side of the sweet Byung-hun. As scripted their jumpsuits were quickly discarded. The heavy breathing filled the room as the two actors stood almost nude in front of each other. His leg slipped between (Y/n).
She arched up and moaned softly feeling him rub his knee against her covered core. “Byung-hun!” (Y/n) gasped causing him to instantly freeze. “Fuck I’m sorry.” She said as the director yelled cut.
“Let's roll again.” As the scene had to be started over (Y/n) continued to be a flustered mess messing up the lines or using Byung-hun’s name instead of Young-Il.
“You are a mess.” He chuckled as the team thought it was hilarious she could not for the life of her finish the scene. Byung-hun smirked and leaned down whispering in a low sexual voice. ��Do it in one shot this time and I’ll let you cry my name tonight.”
(Y/n)’s eyes widen looking into her costars eyes with a grin. Let's just say she didn’t mess up again.

THE FOUR MIGHTY ONES.
"And every one had four faces." - Ezekiel 10:14 To briefly summarise chapter I in Goddard's book Seedtime and Harvest, the 'Four Mighty Ones' are a part in every individual's mind, each portraying different functions and characters. These four are not seperate beings but rather a different aspect of one's self. The Four Mighty Ones - Yodh, Heh, Waw, Heh - are identified with the four Hebrew letters YHWH, which combines itself with the past, present, and future, symbolising the creative capability - I AM - within an individual as well as demonstrating how one can turn inner qualities into reality. Now that we have established a little bit of context, how can we understand the Tetragrammaton? By applying it to the drama of reality. In the human imagination, one has four jobs.
To be the producer, the author, the director, and the actor. ──────────────────────────────────────

✧THE PRODUCER - The producer's part is to suggest the theme of the desire. This, in the form of a wish, as in "I wish I was abundant", "I wish I had XYZ", "I wish I was in __" all that. For the desire to materialise, the producer must specify exactly what the desire is and steer clear of vague ideas. That is the producer's part in the play. As simple as proposing a theme and kicking back in the imagination's production office.
✧THE AUTHOR - Now enters the originality of the author. The author clasps his hands, says "alright", and composes the last scene of the wish fulfilled. The author constructs a life-like sequence which would occur after the wish has been realised. Once the scene is all clearly visualised down to the last detail, the author dusts his hands and leans back on the chair. His script is settled and he is ready to pass it on to the director.
✧THE DIRECTOR - The director takes the papers from the author and nods his head. His task is to ensure that the actor remains consistent and faithful to the author's script, as well as rehearsing the lines over and over until the actor becomes a natural in his part. This means consciously directing the attention to exclusively focus on the action that implies that the wish is already fulfilled.
✧THE ACTOR - The human imagination is the actor. The star of the show and the centrepiece. 'The Fourth is like the Son of God.' This mighty one acts out what it wants. The imagination does not observe or visualise the action from far away, he rather steps into the scene and enacts the desire repeatedly until it takes tones of the outer world. Without the consistent attention to the dramatised scene of the wish fulfilled, it will not obtain the characteristics of reality and the idea will sleep forever.

With GMMTV series I always have a clear distinction. When it's a adaptation of a popular novel, I'm quite aware while watching that the script was completely rewritten by the different team, and in most cases it was for the better (it took a lot of effort to make on screen a green flag characters for My School President and Star in My Mind characters and I really mean it, I hope all the scriptwriters got a bonus for how much effort they put into making the couples' relationships in these series healthy - unlike the novel). So yes, I quite clearly separate the characters from the series from those written in the novel. For my sanity and faith in my favorite characters. They're are two completely different people for me.
But there are series where they wrote the script and the novel appeared as an addition and based on the script and team's notes (NLMG, Kidnap, ThamePo). In this case, I perceive the novel as an addition to what the director does not have time to tell about on the screen due to reasons. So this is just something canon about characters for me but unseen in the series.
And with ThamePo? Oh God, my heart cries for Po.

I assumed from the first few episodes that he was in a toxic relationship, but I didn't realize how abusive it was. And how much it destroyed Po as a person and now I feel like I looked at him with new eyes.
What hurts even more now is how much Po hasn't lost faith in people and how much his bright naive soul wants to help Thame reunite the group, even if it means he might end up getting hurt again, especially after such a big betrayal from his ex. And that scene where Po remembers Jun's words about how Thame would forget about him once the group reunites? Now it hits me in a completely different way because at that exactly moment Po in his mind was trying to deny the fact that he had met someone like Earn again. Because he had faith in Thame. May sound stupid, but it's just so inherent in his character. And because he and Thame aren't that close at this moment, it wasn't the pain for him, no. It was disappointment. And not so much in Thame but in people in general. I understand him, I experienced it once too.
And that's why the moment when Po decides to enter into a relationship with Thame will be so precious to him. Not only because he decided to start relationship with an idol knowing that it would be hidden and it would be a secret relationship again (like with ex). For him it was also a matter of trust, fear of the situation repeating itself, the question of what he is worth and what he has achieved as an independent human being and how he cannot lose this with new relationship again. Because it will destroys him.
And I can't even begin to write how angry I am about everything involving Earn now. I hate people like him. Uncle Joei and Baifern's words about him make so much sense now after knowing all of this, and yes, that asshole at least needs to go bankrupt in the finale. It's not enough for me to think that Thame is going to punch Earn in the face one day, to protect Po I need a gun.

• almost certain that is sugarfoot cooper is dismounting in the scene from the movie he is filming 🥲 • the film cooper was filming here is called "the man from deadhorse", a clear play on the concept of "beating a dead horse" • just realized he [presumably] shot the bad guy character twice • i also noticed that the duster the bad guy character is wearing looks an awful lot like the duster cooper wears as the character he “plays” in the wasteland to cope. is... cooper playing a bad guy character based off one of his movies?? • saw a couple of different variations of "feo, fuerte, y formal" [all saying mostly the same thing] cooper says "he was ugly, strong, and had dignity" wikitionary says it denotes a conception of masculinity. very curious about this these words and the scene because cooper is obviously viewed as a concept of masculinity in hollywood, to the point where he's being asked to essentially engage in statecraft via propaganda as this movie scene is making his character do something completely antithetical--- killing the bad guy instead of solving another way, he basically says a line about "commies" then shoots the him in the head
• what's more is that some are viewing the three concepts of "ugly, strong, dignity" to mean either a variation of cooper, lucy, and maximus or of cooper himself, didn't even think of this and it's a particular interesting trichotomy of cooper pre and post war • "well, joey, i'll give you two out of three on that front" and now i don't know which two out of three • cooper goes out of his way to thank the actor jorge for playing the bad guy in his film • cooper presumably read the script, probably had a table read, rehearsal, and still didn't want to film his good guy character killing the bad guy [perhaps after cadillac bob got fired, there were rewrites and cooper was not told until then] out of context, this is charming, he values his characters so much that they mirror his own values [walton has argued with writers, directors, actors about his characters too!] but in context, it is either the beginning or yet another chapter is cooper's conflicting and morally challenging struggle of "right" and "wrong" in this show • need to know more about cadillac bob! he was doing the moral good type of writing on cooper's programs and i am curious if the firing was an ousting [as being labeled a communist is career over here] because the wiki says he was fired for refusing to write this storyline for the "new america" and then they wrote this character change for cooper to have a firmer anticommunist stance to influence the public. cooper wants to change the scene so bad, he asks for a writer and i find it amusing the director thinks doing a 180° on his character would be good because "the audience knows you're a good man. they want to see that even a good man as yourself can be driven too far sometimes" idk but this is about all the horseshit i can take • [this is precisely post war cooper's arc and character if that wasn't obvious enough] • enter barb. i love the sensual "married couple flirting like strangers" energy behind this scene • lavender flowers are supposed to represent purity, silence, grace, devotion, serenity, calmness--- just a little something for you romance girlies to think about with this scene • "tastes like someone touching you for the first time" and they make it a point to show cooper and barb's hands and cooper purposefully touching barb's fingers as they exchange the candy • hands and fingers seem to be important motifs here and it also seems like hands and fingers are particularly worthy of note for cooper • they kiss each other and they're like "sorry, makeup" and "sorry, lipstick" 😭 • looks like barb secured cooper some vault tec contracts • cooper winds up on siggi's headless body and i can almost see the algebra and trigonometry floating around his brain trying to make heads or tails of this shit • from my understanding, there's no chems that keep a ghoul from going feral within the game universe but there are chems that can and have turned people into ghouls, i see speculation that cooper may have a chem addiction and what we see are withdrawal symptoms, as when lucy finds him outside the super duper mart, he's still on the ground and not acting much feral but [of course coughing, drooling, etc could be the show's symptoms for ferality] i digress • almost think because it's dry and arid af out there, that's why he need a chem
• literally howling because of how lucy was handling siggi's head, she got over the shock and disgust quick 😭 • lucy is crazy for lighting another [camp]fire at night like that • lucy putting a tracker on siggi's head was smart though • lmao did the brotherhood of steel not know lord titus' regular speaking voice or • maximus lying to the brotherhood of steel, maximus selling his teeth for caps instead of literally anything else, maximus thinking he can leave his power suit uncovered and unattended without it being pulled for scrap--- like lord, maximus, please make a sensible step 😫 • the voice modulator mechanic person was very sci fi though • took me a second watch to realize maximus' tooth extraction resulted in a bit of a lisp glfgd • not maximus getting bullied again 😭 • maximus getting a wrench and toilet seat and beating the shit out of them wastelanders with them rotf • crushed that man's head like a watermelon❤️ • thaddeus being sent to inadvertently squire for someone he helped bully is his karma lol • "remnant from the old world" directly implying the enclave is a continuation of the us government • lucy arriving on the serene scene of a fawn near a lake where hollywood boulevard once stood [lucy being a parallel of the innocent doe, doe eyed, and this is bambi ok 🥲] • an undamaged, normal appearing fawn representing beauty and purity can grow in the wasteland and then it being snatched by a gulper likewise demonstrating that it can all be taken away in a blink of an eye • lucy once again being crazy for walking around with the barely contained rotting head, like of course the abomination snatched that too 😭 • cooper conveniently appearing with a cocked gun in her face and she just smiles and says "hello again" like excuse me?? 😭 • cooper's head tilt gets me every time, oof • he ain't have to lightly pistol whip her like that 😭 • lmao poor chet • betty to some degree i keep wondering if she knows extensively about the vaults of 31, 32, 33 or if she is just doing what she is told • norm using the word "escape" instead of perhaps "leave" when describing lucy's departure from vault 33 is intriguing, i think • it took me a minute, and i don't think i've seen much talk about this but i legitimately think norm's lack of enthusiasm and drive for life in the vault is directly connected to his mother's death but i have seen no clear age for him--- they don't show his memories like they do lucy's and i would want an explanation or exploration on his lore here because... he already uncovered vault 31's secret but i don't think he knows what hank has done and him finding out will be huge as well like for lucy • norm is rightfully angry at the raiders for what they did but i am almost willing to bet he might be implicated in their poisonings as a diversion tactic by someone like betty but it's all just a theory [a film theory gldfgldfl] • because someone in the fucking kitchen and handling the food poisoned them raiders... • ghoul prejudice being loud and clear and amongst the brotherhood of steel 😭 • ghouls leaving radiation trails is insane • lmao maximus and thaddeus coming upon siggi's headless body and then trying to compare his mugshot • maximus thinking it was the ghoul who beheaded siggi when it was lucy at siggi's request lol • dogmeat barking up a storm because she wanted cooper's foolishness upon lucy to cease • "you know, they use to do these things called "studies"" like lucy doesn't know what a study is? she's a teacher! 😭 • rads going up because of the water or cooper or both? • ok so i now get why when lucy told cooper torture was wrong that he went into a whole spiel--- not only was cooper in the military but for thirty years post war, dom pedro kept him in a coffin confined on an iv drip to keep him alive but would dig him up and slice pieces of him off and then put him back. cooper's behaviour using her as bait [but not torture] is of course not excusable but cooper is coming from a deep place of hurt and bitterness, this monster was whittled
• cooper goes on to say "it made sense. i mean a man hurts me, i wouldn't want to do him any favours. and yet the practice of torture failed to vanish from the earth. in fact, as time marched on, i've personally noticed a decided uptick in the amount of torture being doled out across the board." oh, cooper 😞 • he says this as he picks what looks like giant leeches off lucy [didn't have to do that] • "well, i ain't torturing you, sweetheart" here go the first instance of familiarity with a patronising pet name in the style of cowboyism and southerness gldgldlf • almost looked like lucy started cooperating when cooper told her he was using her as bait gldgldl • ok so it looks like cooper cut the rope? so lucy could get free i guess idk but then the gulper got ahold of the anchor so he couldn't reel it back? [not sure, anyways, he botched this lmao] • he starts striking at the gulper with what looks like a harpoon i guess when it catches lucy's leg [could've definitely let her get ate but didn't] • lucy basically saves herself with dogmeat biting the gulper and scaring it off • cooper empties lucy's bag and destroys her stuff so it's only right cooper's karma is his vials getting smashed in the process of using lucy for bait lol • cooper getting mad and taking out his gun and cocking it at lucy like it was her fault his shit got smashed 😭 • "oh, i'm sorry, i should just let you use me as bait in the poison river!?" the way she says it always almost brings a tear to my eyes like get his ass 😭 • for the first time in the show, cooper realises he was wrong and/or messed up [and to his detriment] • lucy protests her treatment, "do unto others as you would have done unto you" and cooper starts mumbling to himself "those gulpers digest real slow. you got time." because he already going through withdrawals, help • so he ties her up like a dog and says the wasteland got its own rule and it's "thou shalt get distracted by bullshit every goddamn time" 😭 this is so a reference to gameplay and how they themselves are going on a fucking side quest lmao • lucy asking about dogmeat 😢 dogmeat staying because that gulper has siggi's head ☹️
• lmao maximus masquerading as lord titus asking thaddeus to say something about him • you know? it's good writing to me to explain why a [secondary] character would bully or behave as thaddeus has to maximus--- he's not merely a side character and wanted to say nothing but nice things about maximus when he thought he died, i'll give him that • "we can judge a person and a society by how they treat their enemy" goes boom because of the game lore and also because somebody kills all those raider prisoners lol • this disconnect between the vault dwellers and wastelanders--- they're talking about teaching these people shakespeare when some of them eat people for survival • norm wants the raiders to die and they keep showing steph and this might be a red herring but i think she poisoned them mfs, personally • hmm why does steph know what hank would do in this situation like that flgdlgdl • maximus trying to protect thaddeus from danger • thaddeus calling cooper an abomination because he's a ghoul 😭🖐️ • the little scream thaddeus makes as the gulper gets him ❤️ • dogmeat really loved siggi ☹️ • cooper and lucy walking near an incinerated hollywood tour bus is so lmao why cooper walk past that • at first i thought cooper was displaying cruelty by not letting lucy drink his water but then it occurred to me it might be irradiated, the next scene with water like this, she gets sick from radiation from drinking water • lmao when he emptied the last drops of water in his canteen out in the sand in front of her 😭 • "ain't much stays clean up here, vaulty" he is talking about himself • lucy gazing at a billboard of vault boy, cooper shooting the face, then they cut to vault boy's origins being cooper--- • symbolism and parallels like this can kill a man but i did want to just say there's so many layers to this. to be short he has such contempt, shame for what he thinks he's done, people hundreds of years later worship this thing that represents the end of civilization and he feels responsibility because he was deceived as well. lucy none the wiser. she just thinks he's crazy and horrible for no reason. if only she knew. • the road to hell is paved with good intentions

a/n: omg i am soooooo excited for this you have no idea. Its been so long since i posted and this idea has been stuck in my drafts since july and since im back in my Adam driver era- id thought id finish this. This is mostly inspired by Taylor Swifts song "I can see you" and each chapter will be based on a lyric! So i am no expert on how film/actor/movie stuff works so bear with me. Hopeful as this goes on, it will get better. Im planning on finishing this by the new year (who knows if that will happen) but since im on break i should take advantage of my free time. Ok long story short I will be writing this shit non stop since im on a writing high so who knows if the next chapter will come out tommorow! Hope you enjoy! Notes are greatly appreciated!!

Y/n, a famous actress known for her beautiful face and captivating personality but also her incredible acting skills. You had been nominated for over 50 awards and won 5 oscars. It had been a while since you were on a set nor a movie. The last film was a roaring success and the critics were crazy about it! The media begged for another film starring Y/N Y/L/N.
The first thing you heard when you woke up was the sound of your phone ringing. Your agent- Carolina, was calling. You quickly answered- yawning and hoping she wouldn’t hear it. “Y/n! Great news!” You sighed, not really understanding what was happening. “You got the job!” The job? what is she talking about? “huh?” You rubbed your eyes, laying back down. “The movie!! Adam Driver is in it too! Oh my gosh i can hear them now! ‘Y/n y/l/n and Adam Driver are co-stars in the biggest hit of the year!” Once you heard his name, you sprung up “Wait what?” “Yeah! They want you here in LA by tomorrow morning. I’ve already booked you a flight to leave in..5 hours! Bye!” She hung up before you could say another word. You glanced over at the clock- 9:35. The flight was at 2:15 and it would take a while to pack and get ready. So, being the smart woman you are, you got up and started the day. Showering, packing, and of course- stopping to get starbucks.
Once you arrived in LA, you headed to the condo where you would be staying for a majority of filming. That morning you woke up and started getting ready for the day. Showering, and making a coffee before you headed out to the table read. You threw on a pair of leggings and a tshirt. It was late autumn so you took a jacket on the way out. At the studio you said hello to the crew and a huge thank you to the casting director. “Y/n!” It was Carolina- she ran up to you and embraced you in a tight hug. “How was the flight?” You smiled at the redhead girl “Great.” Carolina jumped up and down with excitement and handed you sheets of paper. On the cover was the name of the film, the name of the director-JJ Abrams- and your name. “Heres your script. You need to go ahead and head in there! Bye!” She walked away, the sound of her heals clicked across the floor. You quickly skimmed through the pages while walking and not paying attention. You soon enough ran into someone, your coffee spilling over you and the floor along with your script- which was on the floor…covered in coffee. “Oh gosh Im so sorry!” You apologized while picking up your script, wincing at the wet paper. “You might want to watch where you are going next time.” The voice was soft but stern. You looked up and realized it was Adam Driver.
He was wearing all black and his hair was messy. He glanced at you with a subtle stare. “Im so sorry!” You stood up, brushing yourself off. “No worries, happens to the best of us.” He rolled his shoulders back and popped his neck, closing his eyes. Damn he was attractive. ”You headed in?” You asked, trying to keep your composure together. Adam simply just nodded.
The first day of the read consisted of going over the aspects of the film and the time line of production. After the read through, filming would start, then the movie premiere would take place after filming and production in Hollywood, but that was a whiles away. “Bye” you finally speak out, but he was already out the door. What the fuck just happened?
For the rest of the day, you couldn't stop thinking about the most pathetic celebrity encounter you have ever had in your life, yet. I mean he's a big celebrity and he's busy. He said so himself. It's not like you're going to see him again, right?
“Hey newbie, the director wants a round of coffee. He's also asking if you contacted the new hairstylist to see if they can come tomorrow instead of Wednesday?”
“I did, she said yes, and I'll go get them shortly.” You reply nonchalantly. The other assistant simply smiles at you before walking away. Ugh, can this day be any worse? This is the 5th coffee run today and you only have an hour left to your shift. Without wasting any time, you go straight to your car. Not wanting to stay overtime again. Especially not today. With 10 min left to your shift, you only have a couple coffees left to deliver. Opening the director's office door. You quickly recognize Hayden’s side profile.

He gives you a weak smile before returning to his scribbles. “Anita was looking for you earlier, I think she's in costume right now.”
“I'll go check, anything else?”
“I think you'll be pretty busy with her tonight, I'll let you work with her. If anything, I'll fetch you.”
You nod before turning around. Fighting back the urge to look at Hayden again before leaving. Stay professional, this will never happen. We don't want him to think you're just another stupid fan. Just stay cool..”
You sigh walking towards Anita’s workshop. As you walk the corridors, you feel a strong hand gripping your arm. You turn to a taller men with frowning brows.

❛ Karolina Teague was hardly famous. Her name carried a certain heft among culture critics whose heyday had passed, but she liked the anonymity that came with being washed up. All of her favorite people were has-beens, after all, and she wasn’t ashamed to spend her time reminiscing about days past with them or anyone else who would listen. Today, she welcomed a whole crew of listeners into her Nakawe home—a film crew to be exact, led by a director-producer duo who had known her name well before a previous interviewee mentioned it to them. She wouldn’t be the star of their documentary, but they believed from its inception that the story wouldn’t be complete without her thoughts.

Karolina took them on a tour of her colorful seaside house, one concluding in a room already set up for their perusal. It was the archive, she explained. This was what they came for; her recollections were valuable, but she had so much more than her own memories. Photographs waited on the tables, and an old television screen teased some scene from exclusive VHS tapes. Karolina plopped down onto a sofa and gestured widely, saying, “Have a look. I’m ready when you are.”
The director, a woman named Ildaria, picked up a photograph.
“Can you tell us about her?”
Karolina beckoned for the photo, and Ildaria walked over to hand it to her. For a moment, she peered at it, keeping everyone in suspense. Finally, she replied, “Sure. What’s she going to do, sue me?”
“Maybe,” a cameraman elsewhere in the room snorted.
“I’ll take the risk,” Karolina laughed. “Look, I don’t know Princess Leonor, but I met her plenty of times. She was at The Den at least half the nights in 1991, for sure. Probably into 1992, but I didn’t really keep track of her comings and goings. Definitely not after 1993.”
The producer, Eilo, held up another photograph. “What’s the story here?” he asked.
Karolina reached for it. Unlike the other photo, this one was a proper candid. There were several people in the frame, but Leonor was at the center, kneeling by a table with her hand draped across Renzo’s thigh as he held her head in his palm and said something beyond the capture of still photography.
“It wasn’t anything formal,” Karolina explained. “Renzo didn’t date anyone in those days, and I don’t think she did either. They liked each other. It was mutual fascination with zero understanding, is how I saw it. They hung out—liked each other’s company. Hot and fast, burned out quick, that’s what it looked like.” She shrugged. “That was Renzo.”
“And Leonor?” Ildaria asked, having sat down nearby.
“Like I said,” Karolina began. She seemed to be choosing her words carefully. “I didn't know her. Seemed like a cool girl. I’m older, mind you. I think she wanted to get a little wild and try new things—this is off the record—and The Den was for her what it was for everyone. You could kick your shoes off. Scream along to your buddy’s new song, have a movie star tell you his woes while he pours your drink, get high in the dressing room and probably be fine—”
“Did she do that?” Ildaria’s eyes were wide.
Karolina cleared her throat. “No, of course not. Not everyone did! Enough, sure. We all know the quote-unquote horror stories.”
The crew listened, rapt, having stopped flipping through albums and poking around the bookcases, eager to hear something explosive. They had set out to make a documentary about a particular time and place. The Den at the turn of the century was their subject. That glorious decade solidified its place in celebrity culture, to say nothing of its place in music history. The princess was just a footnote in that story. Nonetheless, it was a tantalizing footnote. Most people below a certain age were shocked to hear that she hadn’t been a humorless, buttoned-up bureaucrat her entire life. The idea that someone whose day job involved keeping the country afloat may have once been young and reckless intrigued. That she was adjacent to the salacious stories of sex, drugs, and rock and roll they knew better nearly crossed the line into unbelievable. Yet, people in Uspana also knew their royals had been wrapped up in the glamor of celebrity for decades. Even now, they continued to rub elbows with rock stars, including the one elder princess who was herself a music star.
“She’s a different person now, clearly,” Karolina continued. She spoke tentatively still but nonetheless addressed what everyone wanted to know. “But, for a time, she was at The Den with everyone else, drinking too much and carrying around a pharmacy in whatever cute purse you had that night. You may remember there was a big Reyes death around then. It’s like—when my mother died in 2009, I lost my shit, too.”
Karolina shrugged again. “She was having fun. I was doing worse, alright, so I only feel judgmental about it insofar as she’d probably be embarrassed if you asked her about any of it today. Royals are supposed to do their sniffing in private, right, not in a bathroom Renzo forgot to hire someone to clean. She was snobby, but my sense was that she liked pretending she wasn’t—roleplay, you know, transgressing or whatever.”
Someone coughed. The rifling through materials resumed. Ildaria and Eilo shared a look.
“You haven’t talked to her since ‘92?” Ildaria asked. Eilo, meanwhile, had pulled out his cell phone and was typing with fast fingers.
Karolina shook her head. “So, she knew I’d asked Renzo to let me collect photos and bring along my Zenith. I got a weird email in 2000 inquiring about them from someone who worked for her.” She grinned, then added as an aside, “Only one recording, by the way. The Den had a strict no video policy.”
“We’d like to see them sometime,” Ildaria responded.
Karolina nodded, then shook her head and clarified, “Which—my tapes or the email?”
Eilo answered without looking up, “Both.”
He finished what he was doing after a moment of quiet, then held his phone up for Ildaria and Karolina to see. “Seems like she’s still in touch with people,” he said.
They leaned forward to view the screen while he swiped at it, then Karolina laughed. “Okay, maybe she just didn’t like me!”
While they watched, Eilo moved through a hastily thrown together slideshow of the princess with various people Karolina knew well. Some looked like event photos. Others were captured with long lenses���paparazzi shots that made money but didn’t always generate enough interest if the other person was a comparative nobody. Not everyone had evolved in the last thirty years. Plenty of people who visited the bar during the decade of Renzo’s ownership continued to have flourishing careers. They were, at the time, young and beautiful and painfully unprepared for the lifetime of celebrity ahead of them. That’s what they brought to this place more than anything: their pain, which, being creative types, they eagerly spun into something beautiful and private.
That’s what The Den gave them. These impossibly talented, dedicated stars created fleeting things for each other and no one else. Bands and dance troupes formed. An endless stream of songs and poetry and performance art kept the bar’s little stage occupied nightly for years. Offstage, people with no reason to meet in the real world bonded in this space of both contrived and undeniable intimacy. For some, the reprieve helped them endure the difficulty of becoming that invariably attended a rise in fame. It was detrimental to others. These were the ones who didn’t evolve—people who gave up their relevance to live forever in this meaningless, generative privacy or people who couldn’t make the choice and lost everything in the process.
Karolina hadn’t evolved, but she hadn’t died or wanted to die either. From her perspective, what people like the princess and even Renzo himself had done wasn’t evolution. It was more like a revelation. People don’t change, she would tell Eilo and Ildaria later, over dinner, when the conversation had moved far away from the royal footnote. She believed people just uncover deeper truths about themselves, knowingly or unknowingly, and those became harder to conceal once they were exposed.
Have you felt that way before? she asked them. Exposed, like when you break your leg so hard the bone snaps right through your skin? They had. The conversation detoured to childhood misadventures, but Karolina had a point to make. She pulled them back. Some people get comfortable with that feeling and learn how to live in it. Other people, you know, they deny and lie and call it growth. That’s my opinion. I’ve seen it—artists are the worst for it, I swear. Artists who don’t want to be artists anymore? Worse than that.
Can I say you sound bitter? Ildaria laughed.
Now, Karolina threw her hands up. She exclaimed, joyful, That’s my truth, baby! I took too many bites of the world, and I’ve been disgusted by it ever since. Some people come out of their mamas malcontent.
Later that night, Eilo was exhausted, but Ildaria’s hand hovered over the light switch with uncertainty. She heaved a big, put-upon sigh, then asked, “Is it bad that I want to give Mencia Cipac a call?”
“Give her a call?” Eilo snorted. “Sure, Mencia Cipac, whose number you totally have, definitely won’t ignore your calls because she, for sure, knows who you are and has endless free time to spare.” He sat up straighter, then added, “No more overloading on projects. You promised. Besides, you don’t wanna poke that bear.”
“Not a bear,” Ildaria retorted. “A jaguar. Roar!”

KAROLINA | She's a different person now, clearly. But, for a time, she was at The Den with everyone else, drinking too much and carrying around a pharmacy in whatever cute purse you had that night. You may remember there was a big Reyes death around then. It’s like—when my mother died in 2009, I lost my shit, too.
KAROLINA | She was having fun. I was doing worse, alright, so I only feel judgmental about it insofar as she’d probably be embarrassed if you asked her about any of it today. Royals are supposed to do their sniffing in private, right, not in a bathroom Renzo forgot to hire someone to clean. She was always a snob, but I my sense was that she liked pretending she wasn’t—roleplay, you know, transgressing or whatever.
ILDARIA | You haven't talked to her since '92?
KAROLINA | So, she knew I’d asked Renzo to let me collect photos and bring along my Zenith. I got a weird email in 2000 inquiring about them from someone who worked for her. Only one recording, by the way. The Den had a strict no video policy.
ILDARIA | We'd like to see them sometime.
KAROLINA | Which—my tapes or the email?
EILO | Both.
EILO | Seems like she's still in touch with people. KAROLINA | Okay, maybe she just didn’t like me!
ILDARIA | Is it bad that I want to give Mencia Cipac a call?
EILO | Give her a call?
EILO | Sure, Mencia Cipac, whose number you totally have, definitely won’t ignore your calls because she, for sure, knows who you are and has endless free time to spare.
EILO | No more overloading on projects. You promised. Besides, you don’t wanna poke that bear.

not an archive submission, just an ask that exceeded the inbox limit!
i’ve spent all afternoon re-listening to the last several episodes of the silt verses and just wanted to say how FLOORED i am by your rane portrayal. SO GOOD. i know you’ve already heard a lot of this from other listeners but truly. so fucking good. obviously an incredible amount of the work can be attributed to jon and muna being excellent writers and sound editors, but right now i’m listening to that last scene in chapter 44 and i just. love it so much. the slow build of tension.. it’s incredible how well you captured rane’s changing perspective and attempts to placate faulkner, how there’s such a visceral combination of earnestness and blatant manipulation – all of the PAUSES. the pauses and the hesitation all have their own unspoken meanings. on my first listen, i knew rane was doomed from the moment the door was locked, but the way you and b narr played this political dance with each other.. ough. fantastic. it was less a feeling of “maybe they’ll get out of this” and more “oh god, they’re trying so hard.” one of my favorite things about the silt verses is how compellingly it fleshes out the ensemble cast & i definitely felt that with rane’s arc. political fantasy drama and dangerous conversations are always my FAVORITE things in media, you (and b and jon and muna) knocked it out of the PARK.

Thank you so much!! I get submissions very rarely so am not quite sure if I’m posting this right 😅 I really really appreciate you getting in touch, the response to Rane has been so wonderful - it’s always lovely to hear from people who’ve enjoyed listening to them as much as I enjoyed playing them!
Truly there cannot be enough praise heaped on Jon, Muna and B. for their parts in those scenes. TSV is far and away one of my favourite pieces of fiction in any genre, any medium, and its down to the incredible work from everyone on both sides of the microphone. Jon and B. were also just fantastic to work with as director and scene partner respectively, I had such a blast recording with them!
Also I’m delighted you felt the pauses/silences so strongly! Jon writes quite differently than I do, I think because he’s writing for other people to act from - I can just write ‘beat’ or ‘pause’ and know what I mean whereas he has to get his actors to understand what’s happening emotionally in the scene. So there were quite a few moments where the script would say something like, “Rane gives Faulkner a confused look” or something and I’d be like ….. well how the fuck do we make that audible 😂 But I think we pulled it off! It’s important in audio to not be afraid of those pauses and silences that help the emotions of a scene come through, and I think Jon does that brilliantly 😍

https://www.tumblr.com/lemonhemlock/763163615828361216/adding-to-your-nuanced-discussion-regarding-sara much of the hatred towards sara hess is gross and openly misogynistic. unfortunately, it also muddies the waters for making valid critiques of her writing overall. i’m only familiar with her work on HOTD, and while i think she does basic level serviceable work (ie- mostly the plot makes sense) i find a lot of it extremely lazy. take both HOTD finales for example; we have two scenes of domestic violence (daemyra and helaena/aemond) being used to communicate the pretty elementary idea that these men are bad, wrong, and power hungry for anticipating war in a struggle for succession. now with both characters, you can argue it makes sense; daemon has been orbiting the throne all season, he sees the greens as the threat they are and, understands war is inevitable. he’s frustrated with rhaenyra’s lack of response and lashes out after finding out viserys didn’t trust him enough to communicate aegon’s dream. meanwhile, aemond has just discovered he is at a great disadvantage in this dragon cold war, has already committed severe violence to become regent in the first place, and is also lashing out because he is insecure in his position and fearful of what might happen.
the problem is instead of exploring these (very sensible) feelings for the characters or developing them through actual scenes and dialogue, we have this shorthand where Men = Violent, because they couldn’t possibly explore these emotions for these characters in another way. i can’t remember if it was olivia or phia who spoke about the aemond/alicent/helaena scene as helaena refusing to feed aemond’s violent male ego… girl you are literally at war! idk if this is about his male ego so much as he doesn’t want to fucking die 😭 not to point the finger at the actors, i am just assuming that idea came from somewhere, and it seems most likely to be the writer or director. and daemon isn’t in the wrong for expecting battle- yet instead of having that be a real conflict between him and rhaenyra, we have this moment of abuse that is quickly brushed aside and moved past. it exists only to show us how aggressive daemon is in the simplest, laziest way possible, and then it’s disposed of when it’s no longer needed. you can say the same for “civilians don’t matter”— it’s just lazy writing! they don’t have to, in that the story can function without an in depth look at the smallfolk’s relationship to dragons and the targ dynasty overall, and why bother to do any of that when you can just decide that for this one scene, none of them matter!
this is very long 😮💨 i’m sorry for the essay! i find this topic hard to discuss because too often people come in to just call her a cunt because she wrote a medieval man who didn’t articulate feminism perfectly. there are real issues here!! and it’s not all on her, condal obviously approves everything and they are on the same page here. anyway. thanks for reading as always!

I agree very much with your assessment of her doing serviceable, but ultimately lazy writing. Perhaps that under a more competent showrunner, she could have written something decent. But one of her problems is that she is only superficially familiar with the source material - I'm saying this because she gave an evasive answer when asked if she read the books ("a long time ago"). This matters because she clearly doesn't understand the politics of the universe she is writing for (the scheming is nonsensical in HOTD) or the themes (dragging back the "civilians don't matter", but it's very revelatory to how she approaches the scripts). How can you write ASOIAF media, a series that relies heavily on politicking and dismantling tropes, without a grasp on those two things? D&D misunderstanding the themes of the series is famously one of the reasons for its lackluster show ending.
And that's just not going to rectify itself on its own. If she lacks the initiative to analyse the text properly, then someone should direct her as to what exactly to write. I'm sorry, but that's you can't just have it both ways - not do the work and then shrug your shoulders when you end up creating a divergent version that doesn't fit in the plot you're bound to follow.

Exactly, and the reason it ends up working for Daemon is because he previously got a ton of screen time and we got to know his personality, whereas Aemond gets little next to nothing in Season 2, in addition to his in-built disadvantage of being much younger and, thus, getting introduced later on. Well, surprise surprise, what worked for Daemon will not work for Aemond in that situation, because if you don't invest in Aemond's characterisation, the parallel will fall flat. Aemond and Daemon had very different upbringings and it's very silly to think that what applies to Daemon will automatically apply to Aemond and, therefore, you don't need to bother to dissect Aemond on screen in any meaningful way.
That's just concentrating on the logistics & not even critiquing the very lazy stereotype of men = violent & women = peacemakers.

This. ^^^ I often find that the writers were trying to make some kind of point that, in other circumstances, could have been relevant, but they have a knack for picking the worst situations as illustrative examples. And, after that, they're surprised their simile felt mismatched.
Aemond having a violent male ego and being critiqued for it within the text is absolutely fine, but is it reasonable to do it when he's trying to ensure his family are not getting killed? And have Helaena be that agent of critique, when she herself has just been subjected to horrific loss and trauma at Daemon's hands?
Conveying that the smallfolk live miserable lives that often lead them to forsake their morals and commit horrific acts in desperation (such as becoming assassins for hire) is another valid point to make. But is it really appropriate to beg for clemency from the audience via a widowed dog (the lowest form of sympathy begging, if you ask me) when we are talking about a cruel child-murderer at the end of the day?

In the same vein, high-borns having more resources at their disposal to recover after trauma is very true. But is it appropriate for that comment to come out of the mouth of a mother who only just recently lost her son to horrific violence? Especially after having her grieve so halfheartedly, it's giving less intersectionality and more her not actually giving much of a shit instead. No one in their right minds would go to a rich lady mourning her dead child and start lecturing her on the privilege of grief. Helaena is just not the appropriate vehicle in that moment for that kind of commentary.
Neither are the smallfolk of King's Landing in a position to mourn the dragon Meleys mere days after it butchered so many of their fellow townies. So many times I can sense this disconnect between what a believe, humane response would look like and half-baked attempts at social commentary.

Yes, in some ways, Daemon is the writers' opportunity to eat their cake and have it, too. They make a lot of noise about how much of a problematic bad boy he is, but, when it comes down to it, nothing he does has any kind of real consequence. The only consequence he ever faced was Viserys banishing him and that was way back before any kind of time jump (and it got overturned in the end, anyway).* Alys doesn't do anything to him except hold his hand and gently nudge him in the "right" direction. Rhaenyra takes him back with nary a snide comment.
Even back in season 1, he can kill Rhea Royce with no fallout: the Royces don't do anything and Lady Jeyne is still Rhaenyra's lackey with no explanation given. He can spread the rumour of killing Laenor with the intent of sowing fear and decapitate Vaemond in front of the greens. Yet the greens are not worried about him and scrambling to prevent Rhaenyra from seizing the throne. Oh no. Crowning Aegon is just misunderstanding Viserys' dying words. 🤦♀️ Daemon can even kill Jaehaerys and still Helaena decides to help him instead of her own brother.
*honestly, that's one of the reasons I think the first 5 episodes of season 1 are the show's strongest. It's like back then you did stuff and it had consequences. Incredible achievement.

You know, I would actually like to take this opportunity to point out that I get this conundrum as a showrunner. You don't really want to make a story about smallfolk suffering, because it would be a massive downer and it would not sell as much or be as popular. Not many people are interested in Les Miserables but with dragons and that's understandable! But there is a way to simultaneously not delve into the intricacies of oppression in your escapist nobility fantasy, but not be downright insulting about it.
They don't need a ton of screen time to set up the basic theme of "it's always the innocents who suffer when you high lords play your game of thrones". They just don't and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. They can very well illustrate the point of smallfolk suffering without resorting to insane suspension of disbelief like King's Landing starving after two weeks of blockade. And, if they can't, then they shouldn't be in the writers' room for productions that have the audacity to submit episodes to prestigious award shows.

my idea/inspo is actually from Fall Guy. the movie this year and like... yandere!stunt actor × director!reader in which like they had have a few movies made together cause the actor that yan!stunt works for is like super famous and has have been in many movies. and in this current movie they making, yan!stunt has have heard that the actor has have been courting or something with director!reader and well, being yandere that's like... something of a challenge 👁👁
and so... things happened actor mysteriously missing or something but the shooting must go on! and yan!stunt suggested they use the wonders of technology to have actor's face on his so he can just act out all the scenes before actor comes back to do it themselves— and.. yeahhh something like that 😅

he has worked with alot of directors in his career, but no one was like you, you actually cared for all the actors,much to his disappointment, the way you come yourself to check on him after his scenes, fawning over him if he got injured, he couldn't help but fall deep for you, and his luck made him work a few works with you, he'll cherish every second.
and he was beyond happy when he got another invitation to work again with you!.
the day so far was boring to him, he has read his script over and over again, where were you? he hadn't seen you all day, it's soffocating.
when his makeup had done he searched for you around the entire set,but you were nowhere to be seen.
he sees two people from the staff chatting so he approach them.
"excuse me, have you seen the director?" he interrupt them.
one of them shake his head and the other thought for a minute before replying "i think the director is with the main actor, they have been hanging out alot recently."
he pause for a minute, his thoughts wonder "with them? why did the director hang out with them?! are they close?! what if...", his thoughts cut off as he comes to his senses, the staff looking at him weird, he clear his throat "oh, thank you two." he says and walks away,clenching his fists hard enough to bleed if he had long nails, why were you with them instead of him! is there something between you two? his heart beat fast at the thought as he began to sweat, he enters the bathroom and lean into the sink, a creepy anxious smile form on his face. impossible, no no I'm overthinking this there's no way the director-ah calm down!.
the next few days, he was poping in front of you out of nowhere.
"director, can we eat lunch together?"
"director, i got you this, hope it's to your taste."
"director, i have a problem with this line can you help me?"
he was keeping himself steady with delusions and believe he, himself, knew it will all crash one day, but what can he do? if he snaps he'll make a mess that's hard to clean...well, that's didn't last long.
"have you heard the rumors?" one of the staff said.
the stunt actor was early in the set, expecting to see you there when he stumble upon the staff whispering between themselves.
"what rumors?" the other says.
"everyone here talking about it! seemingly the main actor has been hitting on the director!"
"plus they have been hanging out together alot these past few days!"
"shhhh!" one of them shush them off as he saw the stunt actor standing there, not like he's paying attention to them anymore. he has stopped thinking the moment he heard them talking about the main actor with you in the same sentence, now he can't think straight, rage and jealousy taking over his mind, as he thought of a million way to get rid of the main actor.
he waited eagerly for the main actor to come, he'll do anything to get anyone out of his way, you were his after all, his angel from the sky, his bless that he deserved.
"come in." the main actor says as he heard a knock at the door.
the stunt actor enters the room and close the door behind him, it was kinda abvious that he was holding something behin his back, if only the main actor was looking at him directly.
"hello" the stunt says as he looks around the room.
"hey..,it's not everyday you visit me, did something happen?" the actor says, looking at the stunt from the mirror as he added some touches to his look.
"no, nothing, figured we could spend sometime together."
"hm, good then, how's your scene going?"
"very good." he says as he starts to walk closer to the actor "but there's something missing.." he stops.
the main actor turn around to face the stunt "and what might that be?" he asks
"you." the stunt says and hit the main actor on his head with a cudgel that knock him off, his blood staining the ground.
the stunt pant, horror and pleasure filled him, he kneel down to make sure that the main actor isn't dead,even though he wish he was. he tied the actor with a rope he brought along and put him in the closet, he lock it and walks out of the room in a hurry.
he sees you from a distance and a slight guilt his him, but it go as fast as it came, he did this for you after all, for you to ne safe, to not have your heart broken.
"here you are!" he snaps out if his thoughts as he heard your voice calling out to him.
"is-is everything okay director?"
"have you seen the main actor he must be here by now"
he shake his head.
you put your hand on your forehead and exhale "god, today's the last day, where did he go? no one saw him"
"let's wait a little for him." he said and you nod in agreement, giving up on searching.
A whole hour passed and the main actor didn't show up, the whole set was on panic while you try to find a solution.
"how about i take his place?" the stunt suggest, making everyone freeze.
"what?" you say.
"i can take his place, with makeup and technology i can look like him until he comes."
you take a little time to think, but with everything happening you have no choice but to accept.
"okay, let's do this."
the filming went okay you think, there was some mistakes here and there but the technology can fix everything, but you're still worried, the main actor has never showed up it's concerning.
"cut! let's take a rest." you yell.
you went to take a coffee as you were feeling dizzy.
you were sitting alone on the roof drinking your coffee in peace as your thoughts wonder here and there, when someone interrupt your peace.
"are you okay director?" the stunt says as he approach you and sits beside you.
you nod with a "mhm".
"you sound stressed." he points out.
you sigh "how couldn't i? we all worked too hard on this and the main actor suddenly disappeared, don't you find it strange?"
the stunt shake his head "i don't, because i guess he's one of this type who don't care about what happens here and takes his comfort above anyone."
"but he hasn't miss one day from the filming, why now? when we're in the end."
the stunt kept silent for a minute before he speak "how about we take a walk? you won't be able to work properly if you kept being stressed like that."
"fine."
you two walked around, not too far from the set, but enough for you to forget about what happening right now.
"i have a place in mind, it's a bit far but I'm sure you'll like it, how about we go there?" the stunt actor asks.
you hesitate "i don't know....we've been walking long enough.."
"i promise we'll get back in time, come on." he pulls you with him, you didn't have a time to protest so you just accepted.
you two arrived at a small park, it was beautiful, but nearly empty.
"how did you know about this place?" you ask him.
"i like going on a night drive, and i stumbled upon it on one of it."
"oh...it's beautiful."
"i know, right?" he start walking inside and you follow behind him "let's sit here."
you sit besides him looking around in awe.
he clear his throat getting your attention back "i uh, i have something to tell you.."
you look at him in puzzle "sure? what is it?"
"i-..i like you, director..maybe even more" he looks away in embarrassment as he said that.
you pause, looking at him with wide eyes his words ringing in your ears, you look away after a minute thinking of what to say.
"i..um..i don't know what to say...i do..consider you a friend of mine but..i don't think i feel these sort of feelings for you..I'm sorry."
his heart sink at your words and he gets in a state of panic, he hold your hands tightly in his, "why? is it because of him?? do you like him?!" he practically yelling now, his eyes glassy as the tears threaten to fall.
"what? who-"
"what does he have that i don't? why is he better than me?!" he cuts you off
"calm down what's wrong with you!" you stands up and yell.
he fell silent looking at you in a miserable state, in a second his expression change to one if a madness.
"no no no i won't consider losing you as an option! if you won't accept me in kindness then I'll take you in force."
before you can react his hand was on your mouth, it was hard to breath hard to resist him, your vision start to become blurry turning to black by the seconds, you think you're gonna die when your eyes closed fully but your eyes opened in an unfamiliar room, you don't know if you should be relieved that you're alive or scared that you're in an unknown place.
guess the last episode won't be released for sometime.

Saying history doesn't matter cause it isn't canon to CF is like saying Rhea burning down Firdhiad doesn't matter cause it isn't canon to AM/VW/SS
It touches upon a deeper issue within the fandom, one I feel is pretty central to the discourse as well as the failure of the game's writing. Fodlan was designed with the intent that it not just be a backdrop to the game's story, it was meant to be a world that the player would immerse themselves in. It is a world that, by the creator's own admission, was built to support Silver Snow's story, a story where the Church are the good guys while Edelgard is a villainous lord who betrays the player. So as the player is going around exploring around the monastery or doing supports, they're also encountering information that not only works towards revealing that the Church aren't the villains but also begins filling Edelgard's narrative with holes. The game even uses it's symbolism to push that the routes where Edelgard is an antagonist to be based around knowledge, while her route is based around player ignorance.
It's like a combination of a jigsaw puzzle and a magic eye, it's up to the player to put the pieces together and see the hidden picture that is Fodlan. This requires the player to engage with Fodlan on more than a surface level, and that's where the problem lies.
People like the surface level of Fodlan. They like that the Church is suspect early on and reject the idea that it's all a red herring. They like the idea of Edelgard liberating the people, even if she has to work with other villains to do so. They want Edelgard to open up to the player, learn to trust people, and not become a villain due to the player's influence while Claude can be the lying, manipulative bastard rather than the other way around. And Claude should definitely kill Rhea too. Dimitri has to be the conservative zealot of a lord while Edelgard is the progressive one whose ideals are the best for mankind... just not the ideals she actually talks about.
That is not the game they want, so they do the best they can to ignore that stuff. To ignore the actual writing of the game, instead making it what they want it to be. I have seen the following:
The other routes lie to the player, Edelgard is the one who tells them the truth.
It's up to the player to decide who is right and who is wrong, therefore Edelgard is the hero if I want her to be.
The identity of the Flame Emperor should have changed based on which House you picked rather than always being Edelgard.
They don't like hearing about other routes and the stuff revealed in them.
The game's director and writers don't actually understand their own story, and they only said those things to appease Dimitri and Rhea-stans.
What we say is the actual intent of the game and what they say the intent was can be ignored as death of the author.
People who don't actually play the game and just read the script understand it better than the people who play (I think this means to ignore the acting and just look at the words being said).
I mean, ffs, there's the teacher theory that came about when people realized it disproved the claim that Edelgard is only after the Church and the author said it went against HIS reading of her character. And this was the same guy who created the toxic masculinity take against Dimitri's arc because he didn't want it to be about his mental illness. It was even explained to him that his reasoning was based on a misunderstanding about Japanese culture, and he instead said the onus was on other to prove it to HIM in a way HE would accept.
Or there was that one game journalist who was upset that the game didn't make a bigger deal about him ending the game in a lesbian relationship with Edelgard.
I mean, I talk a good bit about how the translation tones down Edelgard's ending and bashes the Church, but even then there's still a lot about the ending that should point to the actual truth about the game. If Edelgard is about freedom and empowering the commoners, why is Hubert spying on them while putting down rebellions from the shadows? Why is it that no commoner gets promoted under her, some like Alois only have their merit recognized in their endings in other routes, while some endings reveal nobles can still simply hand down their titles to their kid? Why is it that Edelgard restores the Church under her control? Or better yet, why is that Edelgard has no idea what form her reforms will take and will only ponder as such after she's won the war and assumed power over all of Fodlan? Why are we still ignoring that Edelgard lies constantly? Why is her ending title the Flame Emperor and is referred to as a hegemon in yours? Why does Hubert reveal her father was an Agarthan puppet in contrast to Edelgard's claim that he was one to the nobility?
Even from the beginning people were pointing out how the lore of all routes fit better to disprove Edelgard's narrative rather than support it. We were even pointing out the system of inheritance isn't set in stone, with each noble house seemingly doing their own thing years before Hopes came and Sylvain explained that while there is supposed to be a Crest system, the nobility doesn't actually follow it.
As I've said before, people want to believe that they are good and that they do the right thing. So when Houses is piling on the evidence that they did a very bad thing but never (or rarely) outright accuses them of doing so (via unrecruited units), it's just easier to ignore that stuff and focus on the stuff that is instead deemed important. Like Edelgard being a cute girl. Hell, the way they act Edelgard comes off as a villain first and foremost and it's only by joining this villain that you see the cute girl aspect of her.

The script writer of One and Only shared the experience writing the character of Chen Shuo and the photos used of Yibo while writing.

Friends who have worked as screenwriters and doing scripts know that when you create a character, if you can embed a face in your mind. Then, as the text and the plot progress, TA has a chance to "come alive", look at you, start breathing, and talk to you.
As a screenwriter, this is a brilliant moment that only colleagues understand. I was very lucky, when "One and Only" was still a ray of flame, and when Chen Shuo was still in chaos, I had the authority to embed Yibo into Chen Shuo. I am also very excited that this pure, persistent, high-spirited face can be so in tune with the contradictory and unified Chen Shuo who regards dance and family as his beliefs.
The script has gone through more than a year, and the draft has been changed and overturned several times. Although the plot is always changing, smearing, and reorganizing, but in his heart, B boy Chen Shuo's eyes are becoming more and more determined.
As for later in Hangzhou, how to see Yibo go to become Chen Shuo in the first scene is very practical, and give him a new light and warmth, that is another wonderful memory.
The director revealed the fact that I printed a photo of Yibo, and the audience was always curious about which one I printed. As an Internet fear, I originally wanted to be as vague as before. But after thinking about it, this kind of tweaking is simply not "enthusiastic"❗️This summer, as a member of "One and Only", we should not refuse any form of sharing and carnival.
The photos I was always looking at at that time were actually two. One is on the stage, his eyes are like a torch, even in rehearsal, all thoughts can be unified. One is from childhood, with clear eyes and fashionable sleeves showing extraordinary aura.
However, people don't know that it is not Doraemon with technological magic on his clothes that makes this child stand on the stage and be loved by so many people on the screen after a few years. It is a boy's enthusiastic and unrepentant pursuit of dance and performance.

N: I particularly remember chuck's dubbing experience because I did that the 15 of august in the morning. F: other than having an iconic voice, you also need a crazy voice control to do all those different tones! N: and I have a cold! well, when you have to do certain things you need to be able to do them in any physical conditions. I also did for many years theater, when I was 20 I started voice acting thanks to a man that did documentaries. He made me record this and I remember he payed me so I understood that this was a job, what I did as a game, for passion, was actually a job! Well one day one of my friends told me that I was in your video and made me watch. there I understood what I actually dubbed! most of the times I don't know what I'm dubbing! F: if any of you guys recognize his voice in a game or anything tell us N: yes! it would also help me making a more public portfolio. F: your voice changes from character to character, it wouldn't be easy to recognize you N: oh it wouldn't be easy, they're all different. In chuck's case there was a mass selection of speaker and Italian voice actors, 70 people answered. there was a mini description of who was chuck, basically there was written that he is an Italian train conductor and ex orchestra "maestro" and there was this project called" voice character Chuck" I didn't have any other information, the only other information other than the script and the name was a YouTube video of Alex Brightman, he's an American actor that also did the musical of Beetlejuice, and he explained how he did his vocal characterization. doing chuck was pretty fast and the director told me how much he liked Italy

Let's talk Damerey.
I ended up being a VERY general fan during the SW sequels. Like...none of the ships bother me. FinnPoe? Fine. Damerey? Fine. Kylo and whomever, sure. I guess. I just want them to live and be happy.
Anyway, when did your Damerey journey start? I think I read at one point they had thought about making Poe and Rey a thing? But I guess the visions of the differing directors didn't allow for it? Did I make that up in my head?
I understand the appeal of that ship as well as FinnPoe or whatever it's called. I mean, it's Poe, so who wouldn't be obsessed lol
Anyway, thoughts?
Also, do you like to stick to Damerey fics for Poe or do you also like xreader with Poe?
Oh, boy. This might take a while.
I can honestly say I've been Damerey a lot longer than I've been a fan of Oscar Isaac. I became Damerey right after The Force Awakens. But here's the thing, I was Reylo, too. What? Okay, let me explain. I love the 'good girl falls for bad boy' trope, but I've always been realistic about it; the bad boy can't be horrible bad and has to become good eventually. I loved the idea of Rey bringing Ben back from the Dark Side, but... what he did to his father (my first love and still the one I compare to all other crushes) is unforgivable. I knew Ben Solo would NOT have a happy ending. Therefore, Rey needed to have her happily ever after with someone else. Finn or Poe? I loved them both, but I do have a thing for pilots, so I chose Poe.
The Last Jedi only increased my interest in both ships. The connection between Rey and Ben was fascinating. But... that last scene between Rey and Poe? I remember commenting to my brother after our first viewing, "They have to be planning something between them after that! Right?"
I went into the last movie wondering which way (if either) they were going to take it. I told myself I would be happy with either, and even if Rey chose no one; after all, she doesn't need a man to make her happy. But I am a hopeless romantic. After the first argument between Poe and Rey, where I nudged my brother (who I saw all 3 movies with) and said "They're just like Han and Leia!", I had hopes.
But... they failed to continue with that bright start. And with the kiss between Ben and Rey at the end, I was pretty much resolved to settle for Reylo. And that was my focus for the first couple of month after the movie. But then something strange happened. A fellow Reylo fan, who had defended the first two movies despite all the hate going on, started bemoaning how 'Rey would never be happy now,' and she 'would never get to have babies,' etc. etc. And that pissed me off. Big Time. She had options, dammit! She could stay single and raise Force sensitive orphans. She had Finn. And of course, she had Poe. So, I wrote Rising, my first fanfic in almost 20 years.
When the pandemic hit, and I ended up working part-time, I decided I needed to continue with this post-movie world I had created. I still had a soft spot for Ben, and it shows up in my early works, but I wanted to make Rey and Poe find their happily ever after. Then something else strange happened. In one of my stories, Kennera, I wrote a scene from Poe's POV. Suddenly, I wanted to know more about the actor who portrayed him. And I found this...

That was that. I was hooked on this man. I started watching everything I could with him in it. And I continued to write Damerey, falling more and more deeply into that ship. Reylo became less and less interesting to me, and now I could care less about it. Damerey is everything to me. And it's been that way for almost three years now. I just freaking love them with everything in me.
To answer your question about the ship almost becoming canon, yes it almost did. Colin Trevorrow's script The Duel of the Fates almost became the third movie, and it included a lot more Rey/Poe interaction, even a kiss or two. Some say it's why that scene at the end of The Last Jedi was added, to introduce that attraction. But alas, it didn't happen.
If you had asked me two years ago if I had read any Poe x Reader stories, I would have scoffed at you. I am a reader of novels and I write in the same style and always will, so why would I read that? But... I've read several amazing writers that write in that style since then, and I have become addicted. I know I will never write that way, but I will enjoy others.
I think the fact that I don't write that way is the reason why no one on Tumblr (other than a few trusted friends) ever reads and shares my stuff. It's a bit lonely sometimes, but it is what it is.
