the apartmentverse urge to make the assassins weird immortals due to interacting with the apple who all survive to the modern day and have to Deal with mundane things like public transport…

#I love the Intrepid Heroes#but I feel like they’ve been confirmation biasing their way into dealing the Rat Grinders#just because Kipperlilly was a little bitchy after their response to her calmly introducing hersel was to be racist towards her#I love this season but it really is starting to feel like the season of missed points and lost potential#the bits are amazing#the fights are amazing#the NPCs are amazing#and the Intrepid Heroes are at the top of their game!#but I feel like they’ve repeatedly sacrificed the long term quality of the plot for bits and running gags#and in normal dnd that’s fine of course!#but this is a serialized tv show that you’re making for profit#idk if this made sense#but yeah#still one of my top seasons of D20#but the Rat Grinders especially have so much potential that has been missed#just for a running gag about how they suck#this is not meant to be hate btw! just constructive criticism of the show#I feel like the moment it all started missing for me was when Kristin signed up to be president#that whole scene just reeks of missed potential#Riz’ entire arc feels incomplete without it#same with Kipperlilly#and the whole mirror match thing is thrown off entirely#also Kristin being focused on the presidency means we lose out on a lot of her religion building arc#and her need to take on actual responsibility and do the “uncool shit#I love the season characters and players so much#but I can feel lighting in a bottle waiting just around the corner and I’m sad we missed it#dimension 20#fantasy high#fantasy high junior year#d20

can you drop that donald duck fic i wanna read it, sounds amazing
ABSOLUTELY it’s so so good. unfairly so. rare to see something with genuinely good prose and characterization from such a goofy premise but they knock it out of the park - it definitely skews a bit more double duck than paperinik (sadly for me since i love both but i am . evidently a superhero guy BUT double duck is also SO much fun) but it’s a heavy canon divergence after s2 of DT2017 with literally every imaginable donald story crammed into his backstory + and so many miscellaneous duck characters. it’s hilarious. i hope you enjoy it like i do i’d LOVE to hear your thoughts :]

also i think this might be obvious by now but blair is on the spectrum. as most my characters are
#took me a long time to realise blair was on the spectrum actually#i think they mask a lot early on in the story which is where you have anxious blair arc#+ other stuff they have going on of course#but yeah. they’re not diagnosed until later on in life. i think this is a cool distinction between the cousins#not that being diagnosed helped claire since she didn’t know about her diagnosis for years but 1. if she did it would’ve helped and 2. she#had the opportunity to get diagnosed at 15 (which is late already but it Was 2005) because her family is rich and her father’s#a psychiatrist. meanwhile blair is very poor! have been all their life. they did not have access to many things including health services in#general. which is why they are chronic ill. which is another thing about their body that they Hate and makes them Want Out.#anyway. blair being on the spectrum makes a lot of sense for their general behaviour/how they interact with the world around them#oc: blair stewart#they’ve always felt a profound sense of Not Belonging for many reasons (class illness grief) and i think autism plays a role here too

Mutant mayhem spoilers
(Do they always drink bad milk?)
I wanna preface this by saying I know I’m not supposed to look into it this deeply, but I don’t care.
In the beginning of the film, the boys are out getting groceries with a list from splinter. After they get everything they need, Leo tries to direct them home, but Raph says “we’ve only been out for an hour, let’s stay out.”
But my beef comes from the fact that milk and ice cream were on that grocery list. Especially outside in the New York air, you can’t really keep refrigerated dairy products out like that or they start to go bad.
But then They decide to go to a movie. Specifically they go see Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which is an hour and 43 minutes in run time. We know for a fact the boys already have the milk because we see Mikey holding it. Not to mention Donnie says the movie screening is in Brooklyn, Implying that they have to travel to Brooklyn- so we’re not counting travel time to the outdoor screening.
So realistically, If they had milk and ice cream in their possession, and then went to go watch that movie then that ice cream should’ve been melted and that milk should’ve gone bad at the hour mark. Especially when we see that the turtles are leaving around the time the movie finishes (ie the subway where the people watching the movie are now hanging out. Unless they decided to leave early too, which is unlikely)
Still, let’s account for some time just in case. hypothetically, let’s say they came in around the middle of the movie, that’s still around an hour that they would’ve spent outside, and sneaking back home.
In conclusion; that milk would’ve went bad, and that ice cream should’ve been leaking out the tub.

#I haven’t been online all day so idk what the discourse has been like compared to yesterday#But can I just say that in a lot of videos that I saw - Brittany and Taylor were studiously ignoring each other#And I have been reflecting Jaime’s post about who else was in the box and what the event was and who was invited#And I feel like I fell into the trap of trying to interpret an entire social situation based on a few moments#And forgot that she and Brittany both have conversations and experiences outside of what we witness#Which I am usually fairy aware of with Taylor but I think it’s easier to slip into it when she does something that I wouldn’t do#Like it’s just so much easier (for me) to dehumanize people when they’ve done something “bad”#And that pattern seems related to the internal cancel culture (bullshit) and the desire for accountability (punitive version)#Which creates this impulse to sort people as good and bad#Which is not at all to say that I imagine Taylor is theoretically justified in being friendly with someone endorsing a dictator#But that my reaction to my assumption about her being BFFs with that vile woman led me to jump on a hate train without watching the footage#And like everybody has a right to be upset by her actions- which are pretty literally enabling a dictator to benefit from her name.#But I don’t think it’s as simple as her being besties with the lady. And I am trying to remind myself that I am not on a global stage#I was just as friendly with a trumper a few days ago at an HOA picnic. Which does not exist in a vacuum-#I am politically active in the community around some big picture stuff and part of that means I need the truly vile people to respect me#And i need to ask about their kids and remember their names and their health issues or whatever and let them hug me#Because that is what being in a collaborative harm reduction type political position means for me. #keese draws#oni posting#first two are from the main rat universe#long story short a while after founding gravitas olivia was like ok so I think me being your boss in our company that we spend most of our#days at has left our relationship in a place that I’m uncomfortable with so we’re getting a divorce now sorry#and jackie proceeded to throw a fit abt that for several years until she got fired over it#in another petty act she tried to break back in to steal some of the work she had done there but got caught#and unfortunately for her during the past several years olivia has been slowly having mere morals broken down piece by piece by the allure#of progress and by the time she did her breaking and entering scheme olivia was far past the point of being ok with kidnapping#the second two are the rabbit universe girlies and they’re less openly hostile with eachother but they still are bad for eachother#they’ve known eachother since childhood and jackie has basically been using olivia as a therapist since they were teens#this lead to them developing an increasingly unhealthy codependent relationship where olivia ends up acting incredibly irresponsibly as#director of gravitas due to her being so stressed and paranoid about jackie all the time#and the third two are the raccoon au which is basically just jackie being too scared of rejection to put her work under her name so she#asks olivia to take credit for it which she does and she ends up getting all the credit and praise for a lot of the early work at gravitas#this combined with jackie’s constant worshipping of her slowly began to lead to it kinda getting into her head#and jackie was also letting it get to her head and eventually her ambition got the better of her and she ended up attacking olivia#now these are all just the basic concepts I currently have these aus are all still in the concept stages#for example I’m still figuring out how I wanna involve the other scientists and if I switch their roles around too#but yeah I’ve been thinking abt these guys lately so they get drawn 👍#oh also fun fact these aus are inspired by the scrapped content back when olivia was jodi#which is why I characterize these two a bit differently then I might if I was leaning more towards my normal stuff#theyre characterized more closely to old jackie and jodie including origin story wise

my players don’t know it yet but the adventure we’re doing rn is me being silly goofy bc they hadn’t made their characters in time for me to plan around them. now that I Know Things the game can really start
#we’re at probably the halfway point of a mystery thing which is about to leave the mystery phase#one more session of them figuring out Most of the Things and getting to do some investigating#and then I’ll throw them at a heist they don’t get to plan#I’m seeding a few things for them to follow when we move on bc this is self contained and I’m gonna sit down with them for worldbuilding#bc I wanna make sure we’re playing smth fun they all get to choose#man dnd is fun but it’s Hard. I was shitting it abt pulling off a mystery and they’ve been really into the start-middle but#now I need to make the end satisfying and that’s not easy#we’re playing tomorrow night and that’s terrifying bc I like. vaguely know what’s gotta happen and the direction they’re headed but#the end last session was very open bc we were running late on combat which makes it hard to plan for#sidenote but in a group which isn’t the biggest fan of combat. was incredibly surprised when the guy who asked for more of it was the one#finding the way out of it. like I’d planned a fun encounter for them early bc I knew the later one would be simpler (WAS NOT) and instead#he locks them up and threatens them with fire. which like. sounds on brand and it is BUT I WAS EXPECTING HIM TO PUNCH THEM#so glad they didn’t take the bait bc it would’ve killed them the EASY encounter I’d planned ALMOST KILLED THEM#I did learn that the trick to keeping it interesting is always having more than one thing happening. it can’t just be a fight#there’s gotta be another equally/more important thing than killing this dude. keep the stakes high and make choices more important#and I guess actually possible to make a choice by introducing an option other than Fucking Kill This Dude#which reminds me I do have to figure out something else interesting in the woods. damnit I thought they’d only be there once OH HOLY FUCK I#I HAVE AN IDEA >>>>>>>:) I love you random questions players ask that I gotta bullshit for that turn into surprise tool to help us later#that solves two problems in one go but might make this game even longer. that’s probably fine I was worried abt session 4 running short#but yEAH they have backstories now.
