Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover | shy dom!harry
Tumblr media
*originally posted on Patreon but due to the use of the word daddy it had to be removed*
MAIN MASTERLIST
Summary: No one would ever know that your shy, quiet boyfriend likes to dominate you in bed every night.
A/N: This is an apology for not having mean king out this week! I've been stressed and busy and while I've got chapter 3 mostly ready I don't want to post til it's 100%. So enjoy this fun little taste of my shy dom!harry in the meantime! xoxo
Word Count: 2.8k
Warning: smut, sub/dom dynamics (Harry's degrading but also gives praise!), daddy kink, size kink (yes always size kink)
. .
When you first met Harry you never imagined the kind of person he was under the quiet shy-guy façade. You had brought your old laptop to him in hopes that he could fix it so you wouldn’t have to buy a new one. His small computer repair shop was highly recommended. And when you saw him, well, he was something out of a dream. Tall with tan skin and light green eyes, a soft smile, dark curls, and he appeared healthy and strong.
Except he was very shy. Quiet. You explained to him the issue with your laptop and he ran a cord up to the desk and plugged it in, typed something on your keyboard, bringing up a strange screen. You watched as he did whatever he was doing and wondered if this guy had ever been laid. You soon learned just how wrong that initial perception was.
“You spend a lot of time here?” You asked in hopes of striking up a conversation.
He scrunched his brows together and looked up at you. “Uh… yeah.” And then he looked back at your screen intently.
But you didn’t stop there. If there was one thing about you it was that you could be kind of relentless. You’d get something out of him one way or another.
And oh boy did you get it. After he told you what he thought he could do to repair your laptop and that he’d have to keep it for a few days you gave him your contact information so he could call you when it was ready. From there… it was kind of a whirlwind after you asked him to hang out a few times.
You knew you could be a bit bossy and direct and so it felt like a really good fit as you got to know him the few weeks after first meeting him. He didn’t seem to mind you making all the plans and telling him what to do and when you introduced him to a couple of friends you ran into at the park one day they also noticed how quiet he was too. He was polite, but he didn’t talk much so you commented to your friends that he was just shy right in front of him and that was the first time you noticed that look from Harry. A sharp glance that made the hairs prick up on your skin. You brushed it off but wondered if he maybe didn’t like you talking about him like that in front of him. Had he been embarrassed by that? You hadn’t said anything mean or untrue but there was something in the way he looked at you that gave you pause.
And that night was the first time you had sex with him. He followed you into your apartment when you expected him to just drop you off like all the other times you'd hung out with him before.
“Oh you’re coming inside?” You grinned at him and he remained quiet as he stalked behind you until you’d opened your door and Harry slammed it closed behind him.
The Harry you knew in public had suddenly been tucked deep down into some hidden pocket and this new brooding man stood before you with dark eyes and a smirk on his face. “Did you have fun bossing me around all day? Talking about me to your friends and laughing?”
You were stunned as he moved in toward you and both of his hands ran up the back of your neck and he titled your head back. “Well? Was that fun for you?”
Swallowing you let out a shocked laugh. “Uh… I mean… I didn’t like mean to hurt your feelings… I just thought…” Of course, you couldn’t find the exact feelings and words at that moment because this was a different man standing over you gripping the back of your neck.
“Can’t spit out your words, little brat? How unusual that you suddenly can’t yammer on. I’m gonna make this easy for you. Now, you do what I say and keep your mouth closed for once. I don’t want to hear you talking back to me anymore tonight.”
And even if you wanted to you wouldn’t have been able to. You were not only stunned into silence but half the time he had his cock down your throat making you gag around him as he praised you for being so quiet for him. You hadn’t expected any of it but you fucking loved it. When he made you pull his pants down and get on your knees the first sight you caught of his dick was something unbelievable. You hadn’t realized he was going to be so immense.
But he was and he taught you a lesson that night. And that was to not judge a book by its cover. Quiet and shy in public but once the doors were closed he was a caveman who liked to dominate and spank you, spit in your mouth, and fuck you until you were nothing but a puddle of mush and silence and serenity.
You were obsessed.
You still kept up your normal daytime appearances. You were the bossy, mouthy, and outgoing girlfriend to everyone who knew you and he was the compliant, quiet, and shy boyfriend. No one had a clue. They all thought you were the one wearing the pants in the relationship. And you did it in front of everyone. You told him what to do and often would order his meals for him and talk over him if he did speak.
But he was the one in charge the moment you two were alone.
And you knew you were in for it that day. You’d gone out with some friends again for lunch and you sat on his lap with your back to him and yapped loudly to your friends about whatever. You ate his sandwich and then laughed when you pretended to realize that he was still there. “Oh god! I almost forgot you were here, you’re so quiet, Harry! You’re like a piece of furniture!” Your girlfriends laughed with you.
You felt him pinch your thigh. And not a nice little teasing pinch. A bruising one that made you jump and you turned to look at him and there it was. That look. You bit your lip and turned back to your friends and continued being a bit of a brat. You knew he’d have something to say about you calling him a piece of furniture. You couldn’t wait to see what he might do.
And it should have come as no surprise to you that when you got to his house, he had you naked and gagged, on your hands and knees while he sat in his chair with his feet on your back like you were a fucking stool for his legs. Payback for the furniture comment.
Drool was falling from your mouth and pooling on his carpet as you tried to stay steady but the longer you stayed in your position the harder it became to not wobble, especially with the way he was shifting his legs around and crossing them over your back and shoulders.
“Pathetic,” he murmured when he saw the puddle of saliva on the floor. “But it sure is nice and quiet like this. Prefer it actually.”
He read in silence for what seemed like forever until you nearly fell over and he pulled you up and dragged you between his legs, keeping you on your knees. “Pull it out and suck.”
So you did. You looked up at him as you undid his pants and he pulled the damp handkerchief from your mouth.
The moment his length was freed from his boxers he had his hand on the back of your head and pushed you down until you were gargling and sputtering around him. You kept your hands over his thighs as he bucked up and sighed.
“Fuck… all this mouth is good for is sucking cock isn’t that right?”
You couldn’t answer. But you'd have said yes if you could've.
The zipper on his jeans was irritating your chin but you’d never complain. Your face was hot and you pulled breath in through your nostrils every time you were allowed to come up for air but he pushed you down over and over again until he was satisfied with how well you’d taken him and then brought you up to look at your face. “Look at what happens to you when Daddy’s cock gets stuffed in your mouth. Just a drooling baby with her eyes all crossed. Acts all tough and bossy all day with me but can barely make a peep when my dick is in her face.”
You moaned and reached for his dick, opening your lips but he wrapped a hand around your throat and pushed you back as he stood, pulling you up with him. “Open.”
You parted your mouth and stuck your tongue out with your head tilted back just before he spit into your mouth and you kept yourself still as he inspected. “Swallow.”
Gulping down his saliva you fluttered your eyes up at him before he pushed you over the arm of his chair with your ass up and began to spank you. You jolted at each strike to your bum but the smile on your face juxtaposed the sting his palm caused your backside.
“You know you can’t get away with being a brat. Daddy’s always gonna win in the end. But you love it don’t you? Love getting put in your place.”
Harry’s cock was still swollen and thick, hanging out of the front of his pants as he groped your plush bottom and spread your cheeks, spitting a glob of saliva over your ass hole and another over your pussy. You were angled just right for him. He loved it when you were draped over his chair like this. Could see your anus and your wet pussy and could do what he wanted with you.
You squirmed your hips gently and then felt the hot skin of his tip pressing into your cunt. The first dip in always stretching tight and achy around him. You let out a pitiful cry and heard him laughing behind you. “This is Daddy’s hole isn’t it?”
He drove into you, filling your insides with inches and inches of length and girth before backing and out plunging in again.
“It’s Daddy’s!” You moaned.
Another gob of spit was dripped over your anus and then you felt him push his thumb inside. “Yes, it is. And this one too, yeah?”
“Yesss…”
His chair creaked as he pounded into your guts and your moans were muffled into the fabric of the chair as he panted in pleasure.
You loved when he stuck a finger or two in your ass while he was fucking you. It kind of held you in place because he didn’t fuck your pussy gently. It helped ground you in a way.
“My bratty girl is so sweet and obedient right now. Just offers her little holes up to me and lets me have my way because she knows she’s been naughty all day. Laughing at me, pretending she didn’t know she was sitting in my lap, eating my food...”
He groaned when he ground in, swiveling his hips in circles and sliding his thumb in, and pulling it back slightly to put more pressure on your anus. Everything was wet. Soaked. And you could hear it with every thrust he made.
Suddenly he pulled his cock out and his fingers were gone and you whined when you felt him leave your body but he didn’t give you much reprieve when you felt his hands grasp your chin and lift your face up to look at him, standing over you with that dark smile.
He slapped his heavy, wet cock into your cheek and puffed out a laugh when he did it on the other side, your arousal getting smeared on your face. “Is this what you love? Daddy’s big cock in your face?”
You gulped. “Yes. Love your cock, Daddy.”
Keeping your eyes on him he smacked his length over your mouth, popping it past your lips before pressing his hands into your cheeks, his thumb on one side and fingers on the other. “Open.”
The moment your wet lips parted he dipped into your mouth, watching the way your jaw went slack and how your lips wrapped around him. He didn’t shove himself in too far, but just enough that it had your eyes watering as you struggled to keep looking up at him.
He cooed at you and as he rocked his hips in and used his free hand to land his palm down on your sore bottom again. Your ass was still up with your hips down over the arm of the chair and you blinked trying to clear your blurry eyes. “Taste that?” Another harsh smack to your bottom.
You moaned around his cock in response.
“That’s mine. Your pussy juice that makes a mess of my cock... Mine. This ass?” He slapped your bum making you jump. “Mine. This throat and this mouth? Mine.”
You gurgled when he pressed in, grazing just the beginning of your tonsils before slipping it back out to the tip. “Everything is mine. So keep that in mind next time you mouth off to me in front of your friends.”
He pulled his cock from your lips and you gasped a breath and watched him as he tilted your neck upward uncomfortably. “Now do you want to come?”
His fingers were still smushed into your cheeks as you let out a feeble yes.
“How bad do you want it?”
He loosened up his grip so you could respond. “Please. So bad, Daddy. So fucking much. I’ll do anything. Every bit of me is yours… You own me…”
He kept his expression unreadable as you continued. “I need you. I want you to make me come. Please, Daddy. You’re everything… I'm begging you, please… I worship the ground you walk on.”
You knew the drill. He expected to hear you grovel for your orgasm. Especially after the kind of display you put on earlier. He listened to you demean yourself and praise him, beg him…
When he released your face he grunted and you felt him behind you again, this time pressing his warm, sturdy chest into your back. “Good girl, Y/n…” He pressed his cock back inside of you, slicing your through to your tummy and spreading you open as he slowly thrust.
“You always learn your lesson don’t you, baby? Need Daddy and his big cock to make it better?”
You nodded and whimpered. The delicious feel of him opening you up and sliding in would never get old.
“I know you need me, baby. Daddy needs you too. Wants to make you happy and give you the whole world… Gonna let me have that orgasm now? Gonna show me what a good girl you’ve been for me?”
He shoved his hand under your hips and found your clit, making you cry out. He knew just what you needed.
Slow strokes of his long dick wetly opened you up, his balls pressing into your skin every time he bottomed out, his deep voice in your ear. “Come for Daddy. Give Daddy your orgasm like a big girl. Come on honey…”
His voice was tight and you knew he was beckoning you to come so he could come too.
“M’gonna come… thank you, Daddy!”
You unraveled around his cock, spasming and moaning, drooling into the seat of the chair as he rolled your clit between his fingers and fucked into you so deep you saw stars. But then you felt his cock pulse and throb and he pressed his lips to the skin behind your ear and he moaned deeply as he pumped into you, relief taking over both of you.
When he pulled out he kissed your shoulder blade and pulled his briefs up his strong legs and walked away from the chair as you watched him with a pounding heart. He put some music on and pulled a book from the shelf before returning to the chair and helped you up so you could sit in his lap and he could read to you.
Your shy, quiet boyfriend was the only one who got you. The only one who understood who you really were. Deep down you were just a soft and submissive girl who wanted someone to spank her, to tell her what to do and how to do it, and then to love her and read her books and tell her she was his best girl. No one else would ever have guessed.

Defending Your Honor
Charles Leclerc x Wife!Reader Summary... When online hate targets you, Charles takes matters into his own hands. A fan gets banned. The fandom gets obsessed. And you? You get reminded that Charles will always choose you—loudly, publicly, and intimately.
Trigger Warnings: Online harassment, misogynistic slurs, public confrontation, smut, explicit language
A/N: enjoy reading this little piece. let me know how you like it. dont forget to like, reblog, and comment your thoughts. request are open guys, so feel free to request anything. have a beautiful day :)
--
Charles wasn’t always online—but when he was, it was either to scroll through memes Arthur had sent or to check your Instagram.
Even after a long race weekend—press conferences, media obligations, debriefs—he always made time to find you.
That night, you were curled against him on the couch of your Monaco apartment, fast asleep in one of his red team shirts. The TV hummed softly in the background, showing some home renovation show you’d both forgotten to change.
He should’ve gone to sleep too. But instead, he opened Twitter.
You were trending.
Not in a fun way.
#JusticeforYN
His brows furrowed. Clicking into the tag, his stomach tightened.
A video from the Canadian GP paddock. You and Charles, walking hand-in-hand, laughing at something he’d whispered. Normal. Sweet. Intimate.
Then another clip.
You talking to Arthur, sipping on an iced coffee with a soft smile. And in the background—loud, jarring, hateful voiceovers:
“Charles’s hoe.”
“She’s only famous because she’s fucking him.”
“She thinks she’s special? Please.”
The woman recording was clearly visible. A bright red Ferrari crop top and cowboy hat. Screaming over the barrier.
Charles’s jaw clenched as the screen glowed against his face. You hadn't even flinched. You hadn’t heard any of it over the music and crowd.
But now he had.
Scrolling deeper, he found more: the same account tweeting threats. Saying she’d be at Silverstone. That she was going to “ruin” you. That she’d won a meet and greet through a sponsor.
Not on my fucking watch.
You found him pacing the kitchen the next morning, phone pressed to his ear, wearing nothing but boxers and a deep frown.
"...yes, I want her name off the list. Immediately. No, I don’t care who approved it. It’s a safety concern."
You rubbed your eyes. "Cha? Everything okay?"
His expression softened. He pressed the phone to his chest. "It’s handled, mon coeur."
--
Silverstone.
You were chatting with Lily and Carmen near the espresso machine when Charles stiffened beside you.
“She’s here,” he murmured under his breath.
Your chest tightened. You didn’t have to ask who. You saw the flash of red and country through the corner of your eye.
She was in line for the VIP meet and greet.
Charles excused himself with a kiss to your temple. You watched him cross the room with that quiet, purposeful energy that always made people stop and stare.
“Hi,” he said politely to the girl.
She lit up like a Christmas tree. “Oh my god! Charles, I’m such a fan—”
“Can I speak with you? Privately.”
They moved off to the side. You couldn’t hear the conversation, but you saw her face fall. Security flanked them moments later.
Charles returned a few minutes later and wrapped an arm around your waist, pressing a kiss behind your ear.
“She won’t bother you again. Or anyone else.”
Later that evening, tucked in your hotel bed, his hand slid beneath your shirt.
“Still thinking about it?” you asked softly.
He kissed your shoulder. “Only how I should’ve found her sooner.”
You turned in his arms, straddling his lap. “You’re not responsible for every idiot with a Twitter account, Cha.”
His hands gripped your thighs. "Non. But I am responsible for making you feel safe."
You leaned forward, brushing your nose against his. "I feel safe."
His lips were slow, reverent, then suddenly needy. His hands pulled your underwear aside and you gasped into his mouth.
“You’re mine,” he whispered into your skin, over and over. “Only mine.”
----
Fan Footage, Later That Week:
A blurry video of Charles sneaking a kiss against your neck before heading into the team garage. Captioned: “he’s obsessed with her and I love that for him.”
A Polaroid posted to your Instagram: your feet resting on Charles’s lap in the motorhome, coffee cups on the table, his hand on your thigh. Caption: quiet moments.
Another clip from a fan outside the paddock: Charles lifting your suitcase out of the car while wearing your name embroidered on the back of his jacket.
----
Twitter Aftermath
@f1gossipgirl: charles leclerc handled that like a KING. his wife is off limits, period.
@slowmoferrari: she didn’t even flinch. queen behavior.
@theylovecarles: charles removing a fan for disrespecting yn, then going out and qualifying P1? the husband energy is CRAZY.
----
That night, as you curled into his chest, Charles whispered, “They’ll never understand what you mean to me.”
You smiled against his collarbone. “They don’t have to.”
He kissed your hair, heart steady now. “I’ll always protect you. Always.”

(sorry if that’s kinda confusing 😖 english isn’t my first language)
Thanks lovely <3
cw: depression, reader has some passive suicidal ideation but it's from an outside perspective
Remus Lupin x fem!reader ♡ 850 words
Remus rubs your shoulder after you get off the phone call confirming your doctor’s appointment. You sink into his side like dough softening at rest. “Would you like me to go with you?” he offers.
You hum, quiet and complaisant. “You don’t have to.”
“I don’t mind. It’s after I get off work anyway, isn’t it?”
“Yeah.”
“So what else would I be doing but being with you?” He says it with some levity, hoping to inspire a similar feeling in you, but you don’t crack a smile.
Instead, you sink deeper into his side, the collar of your jumper rising up to bump your chin in the process. You look like a tortoise retreating into its shell. Remus kisses your hair.
You’ve been rather in your own head lately. Quiet, passive, not really laughing. It tears at Remus’ heart to see you so upset with yourself, but he’s not very worried. You’ll come out of it. He’ll help you. And he’ll be here with you in the meantime. Even if it doesn’t always seem like you care for him to be.
“Do you not want me to come?” he asks, trying not to let insecurity leak into his tone.
“No.” You finally look up at him, your sweet eyes guilty. “No, I’d like you to come. If you want to. I just, I know it’s not fun, so if you’d rather stay home…”
Remus makes a dismissive sound, relieved. “Don’t be silly, I always have fun with you. Sweetheart, you could make the doctor’s office fun.”
This time you hear the humor in his tone and smile. It looks like it costs you some effort. “Thank you,” you say quietly.
He shushes your thanks away, going back to rubbing your shoulder. “Are you nervous?” he asks.
You sigh as though disappointed with yourself. “Yeah. I don’t know why.”
“That’s alright, lovely. It’s not how anyone wants to spend their time. And you always worry that something awful’s going to be wrong, but it never is.”
“I know,” you say dully. “But I don’t get why I’m worried. I don’t even really…”
You trail off, your mouth wincing like you wish you hadn’t said anything at all. You won’t look at Remus.
He knows what you wanted to say.
I don’t even really care.
You don’t care about much these days. What you eat for dinner, how long your commute from work takes, what film your friends want to see at the cinema. But Remus thought you still cared about some things. The important ones. A heavy, sick feeling takes form in his stomach.
“Hey,” he says softly. It takes you a few moments to look at him, but you do. You look the tiniest bit afraid. Not in the same way he is; not for yourself, only for what you might’ve revealed. “Can I give you a hug?”
You frown, nodding like of course. Remus uses the arm already around your shoulders to bring you into his lap, your knees folded on either side of his hips. When he rubs your back, you curl forward to put your face in his neck like you’ve been waiting years to do it.
Your warm breaths tickle against his skin. He loves you so much he thinks he could collapse under the weight of it.
“Thank you for making the appointment,” he says, making broad, sweeping circles on your back. “It matters to me that you’re healthy, and that you’re taking care of yourself. It’s important.”
You deflate a bit against his front. He can nearly picture you shutting your eyes, brows pinched. “Remus…”
“I love you,” he presses his lips to the side of your head, “so much. We’re going to be old and feeding birds in the park one day, you know? I need you to be able to come sit on our bench with me.”
There’s a prolonged silence, wherein Remus begins to worry he’s frightened you into reticence, but then, “We already feed birds in the park.”
He smiles. “We do. But it’ll be much more becoming when we’re all feeble and grey, won’t it?”
“You’re feeble now.”
“Oi,” he laughs. Utterly delighted with you. “When did you get so sharp?”
“Sorry.” Your cold nose bumps his throat.
“That’s alright.” Remus kisses your head again, not wanting you to begin feeling guilty. “I know you don’t mean it. My sweetheart.”
You go quiet again after that. Remus tries again.
“So, it’s a date then? Me, you, park on the corner in fifty years?”
“I’ll have to check my calendar,” you mumble lazily.
“Mm, do that. See if you can pencil me in.” He rubs your back.
“Who knows if there’ll even still be birds then.”
Remus hums. “God, yeah. I hope there are. We’ll still be there, at least, won’t we?”
It’s transparent, this plea for reassurance. He cringes with the audaciousness of it, worries you’ll decide now to stop sharing anything with him at all, but after a beat of quiet you sit up.
“Yeah,” you murmur, laying a simple kiss on his lips. “Course we will.”

SMALL TALK
Tumblr media
LINE BY LINE ᝰ.ᐟ “one night he wakes / strange look on his face / pauses, then says / “you’re my best friend” / and you knew what it was / he is in love” + “Morning, his place / burnt toast, Sunday / you keep his shirt / he keeps his word” - Taylor Swift, You Are In Love
ᝰ PAIRING: oscar piastri x reader | ᝰ WC: 1.7K ᝰ GENRE: strangers-to-friends-to-????, you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and other disasters, oscar piastri is a man on a mission ᝰ INCOMING RADIO: my first time dabbling in some mixed media (feat. texts, voice notes, and facetimes)! not entirely happy with it but hopefully it makes sense // sorry for disappearing i am back now i swear ꨄ requested by @princesspiastri007 !
send me an ask for my line by line event .ᐟ
Tumblr media
Oscar Piastri ruins your life in a bakery line on a Tuesday.
You’re clutching your paper cup like a lifeline, half-hypnotized by the scent of cardamom buns and the threadbare sweater slung over your frame — navy, elbow-patched, fraying at the seams. It was your dad’s. Maybe even his dad’s. Handed down like a secret. You only wear it on soft days. The kinds that ask for warmth and not much else.
Then someone knocks into you from behind, and the tea goes flying.
A sharp breath. The hiss of liquid on wool.
You freeze. He freezes.
“Shit — God, I’m so sorry.”
The voice is breathless and kind of pretty. You look up, prepared to launch into an eloquent string of swears, but the apology is already in his face. He looks young. Startled. Dimples carved into his cheeks like a question mark.  A lanky frame, messy hair, and a voice that sounds like Sunday morning. And behind him, some tall blonde girl in sunglasses (who you’ll later learn is Hattie, his sister) gives a wince-laugh and says, “Nice one, Oz.”
You look down. The sweater is ruined.
“That’s not just a sweater,” you whisper, throat tight. And somehow, that matters more than yelling.
The stranger — Oscar, apparently — blinks. “Wait — wait, is it special? Oh God. Please let me fix it.”
That’s how it starts: a burnt-sugar Tuesday and a ruined heirloom.
He buys you another tea. Apologizes twenty-seven times. Offers you his hoodie while you shiver on the bakery bench. It smells like laundry detergent and something citrusy, like a life that doesn’t belong to you. When you say he doesn’t need to do anything else, he frowns like you’ve insulted him.
“No. I swear — I’ll find a way to replace it.”
You scoff. “What, are you gonna time travel to the '80s?”
He grins. “Not quite. But I travel a lot. I’ll find one like it. You’ll see.”
Tumblr media
It’s a joke. You think it’s a joke.
Until he’s in Spain two weeks later, and you get a photo of a sweater from a vintage shop in Barcelona:
from: +61 *** *** *** [Attachment: 1 Image] from: +61 *** *** *** Closer? Still hunting.
Then he’s in Canada. Silverstone. Budapest. Portugal.
from: +61 *** *** *** [Attachment: 1 Image - a blurry photo of a sweater, tagged €35 ] from: +61 *** *** *** Found a jumper in Lisbon. Not quite the right navy, but it has the elbow patches.
to: +61 *** *** *** you don’t have to keep doing this, yk
from: +61 *** *** *** I know. I want to.
Each time, a picture. A patch. A different shade of blue. An “Almost.”
Tumblr media
You hadn’t expected it to become a thing.
You hadn’t expected him to become a thing.
But there’s a moment, three weeks later, when you're eating leftover curry on the floor of your apartment and your phone lights up with a voice memo. You hesitate. Press play.
Hey. I know it’s probably stupid but I found one in Tokyo today that kinda reminded me of the shape of yours. Didn’t get it though. The color was off. But I thought about you.
There’s a pause. You can hear wind. Traffic. And then:
Anyway. Just wanted to say hi.
You play it twice. Then a third time.
You don’t respond for an hour because you don’t know how to say, you’ve been living in my head since Tuesday.
Tumblr media
The voice memos turn into calls. Almost by accident at first. One missed message becomes a call back, and before you know it, you’re dialing his number like muscle memory.
You start calling him after work, when the sky is the color of chamomile tea and the streets hum with the soft ache of winding down. He answers from hotel rooms, his voice low and warm, surrounded by the soft rustle of sheets or the faint murmur of unfamiliar cities outside his window. Sometimes you hear the buzz of neon. The clatter of luggage. The echo of a TV in the next room.
It becomes routine. Sacred, even. A ritual made of static and silence and shared space.
He listens when you talk about your family, about the sweater, about how you’ve always had trouble letting go of things that feel like home. Your voice goes soft when you tell him how your dad used to wear it on cold Sunday mornings, how it always smelled faintly of espresso and cedar. How you kept it on the back of your chair even after he passed.
There’s a pause.
And then: “That makes sense,” Oscar says, quiet enough that you almost miss it. “You feel... anchored. Even when everything else isn’t.”
You blink.
No one’s ever put it like that before.
You want to laugh. Or cry. Or tell him that he’s the first person in months who hasn’t made you feel like you’re too much. Too sentimental. Too attached to the past.
Instead, you murmur, “I like the sound of that.”
“Of what?”
“Being anchored.”
He doesn’t say anything, but you can feel his smile through the phone. That small, secret one you’ve learned to hear in the silence between words.
And when you hang up, well past midnight, your chest is full of something unfamiliar.

Melbourne - 00:42 / Sao Paulo - 11:42
Oscar’s face is sideways on your screen. He’s lying on a hotel bed, hair a mess, thumb under his cheek like he fell asleep on his own hand.
“I’ve seen twenty sweaters today,” he mumbles. “All of them were wrong.”
You smile, half-asleep yourself. “You’re a menace.”
“I’m determined.”
“Obsessed, maybe.”
He grins. “That too.”
There’s a long silence. Not awkward. Just full.
You whisper, “Why does it matter so much?”
He looks at you like he’s trying to read something written in a language only you speak.
“I think,” he says slowly, “because it mattered to you.”

I found a vendor near the paddock today who hand-knits sweaters. Said she doesn’t repeat patterns but she can make something inspired by yours. I asked her how long it’d take. She said six months. I told her I’d wait.
There’s a long pause.
I don’t think this is about the sweater anymore.

The FaceTimes start to stretch longer.  Past midnight. Into morning. Sometimes you wake up to a dead phone, his face still ghosting your dreams. He tells you what the gravel in Bahrain smells like. You tell him about your mother’s lasagna recipe. He starts sending you pictures of things that have nothing to do with sweaters.
The sea. His breakfast. A dog in the crowd with a bandana that says Team Oscar. His knees pressed up against the seat in a too-small plane.
You start recognizing hotel ceilings. The texture of his voice when he’s tired. The sound of his toothbrush.
You don’t talk about what it is. But you know.
You fall asleep with your phone tipped sideways, face half offscreen, mouth slack. Oscar snaps a screenshot once (you find it later in a photo dump he sends, sandwiched between two blurry shots of the Monza pitlane and one of a knitwear rack in Milan).
You’re in bed, face crinkled into your pillow.

No FaceTime this time. Just voice. Just the warmth of him spilling through the speaker like something secret.
“Hi,” he says, a little breathless. Like he’d been pacing. Like he still is.
“You okay?” you ask, voice scratchy with sleep.
A silence. Not heavy. Just full.
Then: “It’s stupid.”
“Try me.”
Another pause, this one longer. Then he sighs, and it sounds like the beginning of a confession.
“I was at dinner. Team stuff. Everyone talking, laughing, and it was fine. It was good. But then I thought of something you said — about how your dad used to cut his toast diagonally, like it made it taste better.”
You laugh, soft. “Because it does.”
He smiles. You can hear it. But then his voice shifts. Warmer. Quieter.
“And I wanted to tell you. Just that. Just... share that moment with you. And I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I wanted to call. Even though it was nothing. Even though it was everything.”
Your fingers twist in the hem of your blanket. “Oscar-”
He exhales, quiet static against your cheek. “It just– it made me realize something.”
You hear him shift again, maybe run a hand through his hair. When he speaks next, his voice is quieter. Barely above a whisper.
“I think you’re my best friend.”
And the way he says it — it’s not casual. Not flippant. It lands somewhere low in your chest, blooming slow and steady.
You don’t answer right away.
Because the truth is, you already knew. You’d known for a while now, tucked in the space between time zones and half-laughed voicemails. In the way your day doesn’t feel finished until you’ve heard his voice.
Still, you make a soft sound into the receiver. “I know,” you say, because anything more might break it.
He breathes out a laugh. You can hear him relax, like he was bracing for something bigger.
“I should let you sleep.”
“You should.”
But neither of you hang up.
Tumblr media
You don’t say anything else that night. Just let the silence stretch between you like soft thread, pulled taut. Your hand stays curled around the phone long after the call ends, thumb brushing the screen like it might still be warm from his voice.
And later, when you’re making toast in his kitchen for the first time and burn it so badly the alarm goes off, you both laugh like idiots, wheezing and barefoot.
You keep his hoodie. He lets you. You wear it when he’s gone. You send him a photo of it hanging beside the ruined sweater, like they’re twin relics of something that matters now.
He keeps his word.
He never finds the same sweater.
But somehow, you stop minding.
Oscar can’t look at a knit sweater without thinking of you, and maybe that’s the best kind of curse—a soft one, stitched with love, pulling him home.

2021 (Silverstone)
In the days leading up to Silverstone, Lando filmed a video for Quadrant. Amelia sat just out of shot, watching the gameplay unfold with a grin that said, this is ridiculous, and I’m having the best time watching you all make fools of yourselves. When Lando stacked it and landed awkwardly on his arm, she was there in an instant, fussing over him.
A small portion of the clip made it into the final edit. Her on her knees, laughing, while Lando pouted dramatically, waving his arm around like it was much a more dramatic injury than just a scratch. It was lighthearted, sweet.
Everyone went crazy for it.
WhatsApp — 2021 F1 Groupchat
Lando N. Quick question. does anyone have any spare gloves?
Valtteri B. Like... racing gloves?
Lando N. Nah, just regular gloves. Leather, ideally.
George R. I’ve got some driving gloves in my car.
Pierre G. Of course you do.
George R. What’s that supposed to mean?
Pierre G. Nothing, nothing.
Lando N. Can you bring them to me? Amelia’s a bit icky about touch today, thought gloves might help. We’re heading to the track now and I couldn’t find any at my parents' place.
George R. Yeah, I’ll give them to Will.
Lando N. 👍
It wasn’t a stim. It wasn’t a meltdown.
It was just… discomfort.
She sighed in relief as Lando slid the brown leather gloves onto her hands. She swallowed, wiggling her fingers and letting the tension bleed from her shoulders.
The leather was soft and probably expensive, considering the gloves were George’s.
Lando squeezed her hands. “Better?”
She nodded, smiling. “They match my boots.” She held her gloved hands next to her knees, where her brown riding-style boots reached.
He snorted, laughing softly. “I don’t think George planned that, but I’m glad you feel fashionable, baby.”
Amelia glanced over her shoulder. Daniel wandered over, wiggling his eyebrows. “Excited for your home races, mate?” The question was aimed at Lando.
Amelia watched Lando, noticing how his face shifted; something complicated, something soft, but also guarded.
“Yeah. Just want to do well,” he shrugged, his smile a little too tight.
She frowned, instinctively leaning in. “You will.”
His smile flickered, uncertain. “I hope so.”
Max didn’t ask about the gloves. He just wrapped his arm around her shoulder and dragged her into his driver’s room, ignoring her confused protests.
He slammed the door, sat on the cabin bed, and stared at her.
She hovered, uncertain, glancing at the door before looking back at him. “Um…”
“I want to tell her the truth,” he said, eventually.
She stared at him for a beat, trying to decode his words, and then, slowly, her eyes widened. “You— I thought you told her months ago! Are you serious?” She choked out.
Max winced, rubbing the back of his neck. “I know. I know I should’ve done it sooner, okay? But I— I didn’t want to spoil it…”
Her anger flared, a sick heat bubbling in her stomach. “I told you to tell her the truth. That I’d hate to be lied to like that. And you carried on?” She was trembling. “So…. What. She still has no idea? About you, about all of this?”
He lowered his gaze, shame written across his face.
Amelia took a deep breath, stepping back. “I can’t even look at you. How could you—” She choked, nauseous, thinking of the girl who had no idea she was about to be dragged into this mess. “Has she told you she loves you?”
He was silent.
She let out a pained sound, high-pitched and sharp. “I don’t want to talk to you right now. Just… pass your thoughts on the car after practice to GP, yeah?”
Then she turned and walked out, her body coiled tight, her mind a storm.
She stormed through the garage, ignoring the stares from the engineers, and found Lando, her dad, and Daniel standing together.
Her dad spotted her first, eyes going wide. “Hey, honey. Everything okay?”
She shook her head. “I need to hit something.”
All three pairs of eyes turned to her.
Her dad sighed, glancing around. This wasn’t new. It had mostly happened during puberty. She’d always been hard to anger, but when it did happen, she needed an outlet.
“We’ve got some old tire blankets we can pile up. Should be soft enough.”
She nodded, her gaze distant.
He instructed a mechanic to start gathering the blankets in the back of the garage, away from the cameras and spectators.
Lando cupped her face, bending to meet her eyes. “You okay? What happened?”
“Max is an asshole,” she spat.
He blinked, shocked, before stepping back and nodding. “Okay. Yeah. I’ll go help with the tire blankets.” He hurried off.
She looked at Daniel.
He shrugged, making a face. “Max is an asshole sometimes, isn’t he?”
She nodded, jaw tight.
Then, out of sight of everyone, she took her frustration out on the tire blankets.
—
Max won the sprint race, setting his brakes on fire on the grid in order to boost the temperature in his front tires and give him a better start. It was risky, but it paid off, and he won. That took precedence over the extra work he’d given the garage crew overnight.
Another haul of points in their fight against Lewis.
Amelia didn’t have it in her to celebrate. She forced a smile for GP, nodded at Christian, but stepped away from the pit wall and headed straight to the back of Max’s garage, where Jos was sitting.
“Did you know about her? His girlfriend?” Jos asked. “I assume you did.”
Amelia stared at a spot of engine oil on the wall. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
He looked like he wanted to argue, to push for more, but she stood up and walked away before he could.
Lando finished P5. He fought with her childhood hero on track and came out ahead. For that, he deserved her attention.
—
She found Mark Webber just before the F2 feature race, holding a folded white envelope. She passed it to him as discreetly as possible, careful of the cameras and prying eyes around them.
He took it, glanced at it, and raised an eyebrow.
She shrugged. “Let him open it when—if—things go wrong. It’s a good offer. The best he’ll get.” She’d made sure of that. She wasn’t about to let him slip through the cracks if Otmar did what she suspected he might do.
Mark studied her for a moment. “You made this happen?”
She nodded.
“Come on, kid,” he said, after a beat, gesturing ahead. “I’m sure Oscar would love a chat before he has to get in the car.”
She blinked, then grinned. “Do you think he’ll mind if I look at his steering set-up? I’m so curious—”
Lando drove them from the track to the hotel. She liked his car. All sleek, black lines and a polished interior that looked like something out of a magazine.
“Is this your dream car?” she asked, curiosity in her voice.
It was nearly ten, the sky darkening, and Lando had one hand on the steering wheel and the other casually draped over her inner thigh. She’d swapped out her team kit after the sprint for his favourite skirt, keeping it casual but elegant for the evening’s media events. Daniel had made him do a shoeey on the main stage.
“No.” He shook his head, glancing at her with a playful look in his eyes. “Don’t tease me.”
“Why?” She raised an eyebrow, genuinely curious.
“I’ve always wanted a Jolly.”
She blinked, momentarily stunned. “A— A Fiat Jolly?”
He nodded, his grin widening.
She couldn’t help but smirk. “A Jolly? That’s your dream car?”
Lando shot her a mock glare from the corner of his eye. “Baby…”
“Sorry, sorry!” she laughed, pressing a hand to her mouth to stifle her giggles. “I just— I wasn’t expecting that.”
He shook his head, exasperated but still smiling, his eyes warm with amusement. “I’ll get one, baby, and I’ll force you to let me drive it everywhere.”
She hummed thoughtfully. “I’ll be able to match all of my outfits to it,” she teased, her eyes twinkling.
Lando rolled his eyes.
—
Max and Pietra were waiting for them in the hotel lobby the next morning. Amelia squeezed Lando’s hand as they approached, giving him a fond glance before skipping over to Pietra, who greeted her with a bright smile and a glance of appreciation.
“That dress is gorgeous!” Pietra remarked, her eyes lighting up.
Amelia smiled, twirling a little. “Thanks. It’s my favourite. Oscar De La Renta. I can wear it on the pit wall as long as I throw on a team jacket.” As they walked through the lobby, Amelia leaned in, lowering her voice just enough so the guys wouldn’t overhear. “He won’t say it, but Lando thinks it’s a lucky dress. Pushed me into wearing it today.”
Pietra smiled knowingly.
“Baby!” Lando’s voice called from behind them.
Amelia turned her head, meeting his gaze. “Yeah?”
“You got your iPad?” he asked, him and Max now caught up to them.
Amelia patted her bag, feeling the familiar weight. “Got it.”
“Good. Keep a close eye on it today, yeah? Group chat’s a bit tense at the moment.”
She frowned. “What’s my iPad got to do with your group chat?”
He shrugged. She narrowed her eyes at him. He kissed her.
—
Everyone could feel the tension between her and Max.
She sat in the strategy meeting, arms crossed, her focus locked on the data sheets in front of her. The only time she spoke was to correct a mistake or suggest a differential, her tone cool and efficient. Max, however, couldn’t seem to take his eyes off her, the weight of whatever was unspoken between them hanging heavy in the air.
When the meeting ended, she walked with GP to the garage, discussing overcorrection and heat cycles.
She managed to avoid Max entirely.
But just before the cars were due to leave the garages to line up on the grid, Jos found her. He was calm, but there was something demanding in his expression. “I don’t know what’s going on between the two of you,” he said quietly, eyes hard. “But I need you to put it aside and focus. This is an important race. He needs to win.”
Her response was a sharp nod, her jaw set. Without a word, she walked over to Max’s car. She leaned into the cockpit, eyes meeting his through the visor. The surprise in his eyes at the sight of her was fleeting; she knew he hadn’t expected it. She didn’t give him a chance to speak.
“If you don’t tell her by next weekend,” she said, voice low but firm, “I’ll find her and tell her myself.” Then, before he could react, she kissed the cheek of his helmet. Her voice softened, almost a whisper. “Win it, broer.”
Straightening up, she glanced at the mechanics; her unspoken signal to let him go. She turned back to Jos, who watched her with quiet approval. He gave a small nod, and she walked away.
—
She rarely walked the grid while the cars were setting up, but something about this year pulled her there. She found Lando under his umbrella, shielded from the sun, sipping from his bottle.
His eyes lit up when he saw her. She kissed his cheek, adjusting his fireproofs. “Be safe, do well. Love you.”
He pulled her in for one last kiss before she moved on. She glanced at the cars, each a blur of metal and energy; smiled at the mechanics, and shared a quick squeeze with Fernando. Finally, she caught Max’s eye. He stared at her for a long moment, before offering a small smile.
“Ah, Amelia Brown!”
She spun around, coming face-to-face with Martin Brundle.
Well aware of the camera, she forced a smile through the nerves. “Hi! How are you?” she asked, deliberately avoiding the lens.
“Good, good! So, we saw you give Lando a good luck kiss. Think McLaren’s got a good shot at scoring double points again today?”
“I hope everyone does well today,” she replied, only a slight tremble in her voice, “but of course, I hope Max comes out on top.”
He laughed, somewhat distractedly, giving her a quick nod before leading the cameraman away.
She glanced back at Lando. He was watching her with a proud, warm smile.
Her cheeks flushed, and she turned, head down, walking off the grid toward the pit wall.
—
GP settled beside her a few minutes later, handing her a comms clip. She gave it a cursive glance before she slid it into her ear and tugged her defenders on over the top.
“Makes it easier, huh?” he said through the comms, voice quiet and crackly, no need to shout through the defenders like usual.
She smiled. “You’re smart.”
“Coming from you?” He let out a long breath. “That’s the highest of compliments.”
She giggled softly, turning her focus to the screens in front of them.
Her stomach was already in knots, but that was nothing new; it always was during the formation lap. The calm before the storm. Her gaze bounced between Lando and Max, just as it always did, and not for the first time, she wished she had two sets of eyes.
They lined up on the grid. She chewed on her bottom lip, head tilted as she kept an eye on the tyre temps on Max’s car.
He hadn’t set them alight this time. Improvement.
Five lights. Four, three, two.
Lights out.
Max led from Lewis through the first corner. Her fingers fisted into the hem of her dress.
And then—
And then.
It happened in the blink of an eye.
Max ahead. Lewis closing. A slipstream through Copse.
Contact.
Suddenly Amelia was on her feet, hand clamped over her mouth.
She sucked in a shaky breath, barely hearing the roar of shouting from the garage, the pit wall, the radios. Yelling. Chaos. Outrage.
GP spoke into his earpiece — calm, measured. “Max? Max, come on. Talk to me.”
Her stomach dropped. He kept repeating his name, firm but steady, and she heard every word. The comm was still in her ear.
Someone’s hands landed on her arms; steadying her, holding her upright. She didn’t look, didn’t need to. Everything else faded.
She begged silently. Prayed. She didn’t know who she was praying to… she didn’t care.
“Red flag!” someone shouted. Or maybe whispered. Everything was warped and sharp all at once.
She blinked. Jos appeared in front of her, speaking, his lips moved but she couldn’t hear him. Just the ringing.
And then—
“He’s moving! Max is getting out of the car!”
The breath punched out of her. Her lip wobbled. Her knees gave a little.
“Fuck,” she whispered, broken and small.
He pulled her into him, arms wrapped tight. Unshakable. Steady.
She sucked in a sharp breath against his shoulder.
—
They showed her on the main feed.
A cutaway from Max’s crash, the Red Bull pit wall — GP calm and collected, Christian furious, and Amelia… utterly devastated.
She tore her eyes away from the monitor and stared at the floor. She was in the medical wing now, waiting.
51G’s.
A brutal shunt. Career-ending, for some.
Not for Max.
Him climbing out of the car unassisted had been a statement. A declaration. He was still in control. Still standing.
She looked up when Jos stepped out of the examination room. He gave her a nod, then gestured for her to go in.
She entered, and stopped cold.
Max sat on the bed, bruised but upright. Alive.
Her breath hitched. Tears welled instantly.
“Zusje,” he sighed.
She crossed the room in three strides and wrapped her arms around him. Not too tight, she didn’t want to hurt him, but close enough to feel his heart beating, his lungs working, the warmth of him. Real.
He stroked her head, let her cry it out.
When she finally pulled away, lip trembling, eyes darting, he asked, “What did you do?”
So she told him.
Panic in her voice, regret tangled in every word. She’d thought about it, imagined how she’d feel if it were Lando in that crash and no one had reached out. How small and useless and broken she’d feel.
Max’s eyes darkened.
“You called her?” he demanded, already reaching for her phone. “How did you even—”
“It’s too late,” she said quietly. “She’s already on her way.”
Max froze.
“I’m not sorry,” Amelia added, steady now. “If I were her, I’d want to know.”
—
She barely made it to Lando before he climbed back into the car for the restart.
“I love you,” she whispered against his neck. His arms wrapped tight around her, lifting her off the ground with the force of his hold. “I love you so much. Please be safe. Please, Lando.”
He pulled back just enough to make her meet his eyes, steady and sure. The eye-contact made her squirm, but it was important. “I’ll always come back to you, baby. Always.”
She let out a shaky breath, a small, high-pitched sound caught between panic and relief, and hugged him once more before his engineers pulled him away.
Pietra hesitated beside her, hands hovering, then dove forward, wrapping Amelia in a hug despite the warnings both Max and Lando had given her.
“You looked so scared,” she said gently, in Portuguese.
Amelia nodded. Didn’t pull away. Let herself be held. Over Pietra’s shoulder, she locked eyes with Max. He looked concerned, like he was ready to intervene, to pry them apart, but Amelia just sniffled and pressed her face into Pietra’s shoulder.
It was nice to have a friend.
—
“Amelia—”
She ducked her head, jaw tight, eyes hard, and turned on her heel without hesitation.
Her heart stuttered, but she couldn’t stop herself. She was angry… furious, really. He’d carried on, celebrated the win like he hadn’t just sent his rival spinning into a tyre wall. Accident or not, it didn’t sit right in her gut.
And maybe it wasn’t fair.
But Lewis had ignored her before, in Austria.
Now, it was her turn.
—
@/verstappie11 seeing amelia so scared after the crash was scarier than the actual crash. like can somebody hold her please!!!!!!! i never thought i’d be so happy to see jos verstappen lmao
@/pitwallprincess no bc the way the broadcast CUT to Amelia literally holding back tears while GP is stone-faced and Christian is raging… a genuine greek tragedy
@/helmetcamwhore wait why did Amelia look like she was about to sprint to max’s car herself 😭 give her a hug pls omg
@/softlandon4ever it’s the way Lando dropped everything to hug her before the restart… like. weeping. actual soulmates.
@/mercmafia She said “I hope Max comes out on top” on the GRID and then he COLLIDES with Lewis in lap 1??? nah idc what y’all say she’s the problem.

Many thoughts
You smiled up at him and examined his face. He wondered how different he looked to you since age twenty-seven had turned into thirty-five. You still looked fucking gorgeous; he'd always gone crazy over your smile. Now more than ever, he was regretting never making a move on you. For some reason he'd always kept himself in the friend zone where you were concerned.
Damn he putting himself in the friend zone? He's done bad 🤭
"Just one night?" he asked, his eyes shifting back to your face. He could do a lot with you in one night, given the opportunity. "Mmhmm," you hummed, nodding your head slightly. You still hadn't stepped fully out of his personal space. If Bradley moved more than an inch, he'd be touching you again. He really wanted to be touching you again.
Oh he likes to share his personal space when it's her 😌
He laughed. "Yeah, I do. I'll never get rid of that thing," he told you, making you smile. "Do you want to go for a ride later?" Your eyes went a little wide and Bradley watched you open your mouth, but no words came out. Just as he realized how inappropriate his question must have sounded, you licked your lips and asked, "Did you mean for that to sound so dirty, Bradshaw?" Something in your voice sounded hopeful, so Bradley decided to go for it. "Maybe."
I respect your game Bradley 😌
You had always seemed a little too good for him. A little too smart. A little too pretty. A little too popular. Definitely top shelf. And that's why he'd never gone after you. Just the idea that you had voluntarily engaged in a little dirty talk with him today had blown his mind.
She has wrapped him around her little finger 🤭
Bradley smirked and pulled out onto the main road. "I'm taking you to watch the sunset." You were quiet for a beat. "That seems a little excessive for a hookup, Bradshaw." He turned to look at you briefly as he drove. "Well, uh, we don't have to. We can just go back to my place. If you'd rather. But, come on, Y/N, this isn't just a hookup, right? I mean, we know each other." He nervously ran a hand through his perfectly styled hair, mussing it up in the process. Why had he thought the sunset thing would be a good idea? Shit, now he was nervous he was going to fuck this all up.
Oh, he is ao gone
Time to come clean. "I still think about you, too. I check your Instagram page way more often than is probably appropriate for friends." You giggled. "Really? I hardly ever update that anymore." "Yeah, I know. You really should. A lot more bathing suit content similar to your vacation in Mexico last summer would be greatly appreciated."
I have a feeling her next post will be in a bikini for no reason whatsoever 🤭
The sunlight bathed your skin in gold, and Bradley kept stealing glances at you. "You look beautiful," he whispered to you, and you scooted closer to him. You reached for his hand where it rested on his thigh and slipped your fingers across his palm. "And I've always wanted to kiss you." Bradley dipped his face closer to yours until your soft lips met his. He reveled in the feel of you working your mouth against his so sweetly. He reached his free hand up to caress your chin and tip your head back, gaining better access to you. He moaned softly when you took his bottom lip between both of yours and licked him. You pulled away after a moment, looking up at him before running your fingers up into his hair. "I'm glad you still have the mustache. I always liked it on you," you told him, nipping his lips a little rougher now.
🥰🥰🥰
He pulled your joined hands up around his neck until both of your hands were in his hair. He deepened the kiss, slipping his tongue into your mouth as soon as you parted your lips for him. You somehow tasted sweet and familiar, like something he was happy to revisit, even though he'd never done this with you before. He let you explore his mouth as your hands eased slowly down to his chest.
Hot 😮‍💨🤤
If he ran a yellow light or two on his way, he couldn't really be at fault. Bradley wanted to get his hands all over you, and it didn't help that you were running your fingers up and down his arm as he drove. "How much further?" you asked. "Almost there, honey. Sit tight. I promise I'll take care of you real soon."
He is breaking all the traffic rules 😅
"Oh God, look at you," he groaned. Your body was fantastic; curvy in all the right places. You were wearing a matching white bra and underwear. It was nothing fancy, but it worked for him. Really well.
I have a feeling, that when it comes to her everything would work for Bradley 🤭
"You're big," you said, and he smiled at you as he crawled on top of you. "You're big everywhere else, but somehow I knew you'd be big there too." You ran your fingernails along his dick where it hovered over your belly. Bradley buried his face in your neck and groaned. "I just knew you would be. You give off that vibe," you told him with a giggle. Then you wrapped your hand around him and squeezed gently. He throbbed against your palm.
She's not wrong, he has BDE 🤷🏻‍♀️
"You ready for me?" he asked, running a finger along your slit and collecting some of your wetness. "Or you want me to get you wetter?" "I need your mouth," you whined, and Bradley kissed his way down your body until his mouth connected with your pussy. He worked his tongue against your opening, lapping up everything you gave him. Then he teased your clit, and you were squirming so much, you almost kicked him in the head.
😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
When he climbed on top of you again, you whispered, "I've wanted you for so long, Rooster," and your breath tickled his chest hair. He could feel your hand guiding his tip toward your opening. Bradley grunted pushing himself further, bit by bit, until he was all the way inside you. You were tight and dripping wet and perfect. He started rocking in and out in a steady motion, his hands on your hips and his mouth on your breasts and neck. "Me too, Y/N. We should have done this ages ago."
They both were so ready for this, but I would day worth the wait 😌
Finally you spoke. "We should be ashamed of ourselves." "Why?" Bradley asked, alarmed by what that could mean. "We could have been doing this for years, Bradshaw. Years. And now we have to try and play catch up." You grinned at him and kissed his cheek. "Sounds good to me." You paused, but didn't look away from him. "And actually, you know, I'll be back in town in four weeks, on my way back to Florida. Do you want to-" "Yes, definitely," he confirmed, before you had even finished your sentence.
Well perfect 🥰
The following week when Bradley was taking a break from a training exercise, he took his phone out. He had been thinking about you constantly since you left his apartment in a hurry to get to base on time to leave for Hawaii. He couldn't help it; he opened up your Instagram page. A huge smile broke out across his face as he saw your most recent post. There you were, on a beautiful beach in a blue bikini and sunglasses. A small group of wild chickens were off to the side of the photo, and your caption read: Chickens are fine, but I prefer a nice, big Rooster.
Ahhhh called it!! But the caption is just chefs kiss 💋

Bradley did a double take. There was no way it was you. He hadn't seen you in almost eight years, when you had both been in Texas. But it certainly looked like you. And he should know; he checked your Instagram account almost religiously. He couldn't help himself. The damn thing was filled with thirst traps, and he'd had a massive crush on you for years during flight training.
He watched as you craned your neck to look in his direction. "Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw? Is that really you?"
His face cracked into a smile as you separated from your group and made your way across the tarmac toward him. "Yeah, Y/N, it's really me."
You bit your lip and threw your arms around his neck. "Haven't seen you in ages! You look really good," you murmured against his neck.
Bradley's heart started pounding as he wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you. "You always look good. What are you doing in San Diego? I thought you were in Florida," he asked as you slipped back out of his grasp all too soon.
"Yeah, I'm still stationed in Florida, but I'm on my way to Hawaii for deployment. I'm just here for the night," you told him, gesturing behind you. Bradley's gaze shifted over toward the Seahawk helicopter with your name and call sign painted on the side.
"Then you should let me take you to the bar later and get you a drink so we can catch up."
Your expression stayed completely neutral and you didn't respond. Bradley was starting to sweat under your gaze when you finally asked, "Do you still have that vintage Bronco?"
He laughed. "Yeah, I do. I'll never get rid of that thing," he told you, making you smile. "Do you want to go for a ride later?"
Your eyes went a little wide and Bradley watched you open your mouth, but no words came out. Just as he realized how inappropriate his question must have sounded, you licked your lips and asked, "Did you mean for that to sound so dirty, Bradshaw?"
Something in your voice sounded hopeful, so Bradley decided to go for it. "Maybe."
Your cheeks turned pink and you briefly broke eye contact with him. He watched your neck just above your flight suit as you swallowed. "It's a little early in the day for dirty talk, but I'd be happy to continue this later."
Bradley's dick throbbed, begging him to comply. "Your phone number still the same?"
"Yes," you replied, gazing up at him through your eyelashes, bumping the back of your hand against his thigh.
"I'll text you," he promised, and with a longing smile, you turned away and rejoined the group of helicopter pilots.
-----------------------------------------
Seemingly the only thing Bradley did all day, instead of anything work related, was text you.
You still look so good to me. I'm an idiot for never making a move on you before.
Y/N: Yeah, you are. I would have definitely been into it. Why didn't you?
Because we were friends.
Y/N: We could have been friends with benefits. Or something else.
Fuck. I'm hoping we can make up for that tonight. I can't wait to touch you.
Y/N: I can't wait to have your hands and mouth all over me.
Bradley dashed out of work a little early and stopped to buy condoms on his way back to his apartment. You had agreed to let him pick you up on base this evening. He couldn't remember this last time he was this excited about anything. He took a shower and changed into snug fitting jeans and a tee shirt. Then he cleaned his apartment up a bit and headed out in the Bronco to pick you up.
You had always seemed a little too good for him. A little too smart. A little too pretty. A little too popular. Definitely top shelf. And that's why he'd never gone after you. Just the idea that you had voluntarily engaged in a little dirty talk with him today had blown his mind.
And when he pulled the Bronco up to the curb where you were waiting for him, he audibly moaned. You had changed into a little sundress and flip flops, and you were holding your khaki duffle bag. He really hoped that meant you planned on sleeping over. Bradley leaned across the passenger seat and opened the door for you as you were reaching for the handle.
"Hi," he said with a grin as you tossed your bag into the back seat and climbed in.
"Hey," you replied, easing yourself into the Bronco. "So, I'm ready for this ride I was promised. Where are we going?"
Bradley smirked and pulled out onto the main road. "I'm taking you to watch the sunset."
You were quiet for a beat. "That seems a little excessive for a hookup, Bradshaw."
He turned to look at you briefly as he drove.
"Bradley, if you decide to be sweet to me... well, let's just set some terms, because I definitely still think about you sometimes."
His heart pounded and his cock throbbed. "Do you?"
"Yeah," you whispered and turned to look out the side window.
Time to come clean. "I still think about you, too. I check your Instagram page way more often than is probably appropriate for friends."
You giggled. "Really? I hardly ever update that anymore."
"Yeah, I know. You really should. A lot more bathing suit content similar to your vacation in Mexico last summer would be greatly appreciated."
You laughed and hid your face behind your hands. "Okay fine, watching the sunset sounds nice."
Bradley just smiled and headed toward the beach.
---------------------------------------
You were both quiet as you sat on the back of the Bronco. Bradley had backed into the parking spot and then dropped the tailgate, and that's where you were both sitting as the sun grazed the horizon.
The sunlight bathed your skin in gold, and Bradley kept stealing glances at you. "You look beautiful," he whispered to you, and you scooted closer to him. You reached for his hand where it rested on his thigh and slipped your fingers across his palm. "And I've always wanted to kiss you."
You turned and looked up at him, licking your lips and nodding a little.
Bradley dipped his face closer to yours until your soft lips met his.
Yep, he was so stupid. He could have been doing this ages ago.
"Bradley," you gasped as he released your mouth only to plant a few kisses on your bare shoulder. He brushed your hair back and let his fingers tangle in the strands.
"Hmm," he hummed against your skin, nibbling a little trail up your neck to your ear. "I like this. I like you," he whispered. "Always have."
Your breaths were coming shorter as the sun had fallen completely below the horizon and everything was getting darker.
"Let's go back to your place," you told him, and he gladly lifted you down from the tailgate.
You moaned and bit your knuckle, eliciting a laugh from Bradley. And when he pulled into his parking spot, you were out of the car before he had the engine off. He ran up behind you and scooped you up into his arms and carried you toward his door, his hands all over your bare legs. He'd definitely thought about touching you like this before, but nothing compared to the real thing.
You kissed him hard, your hands gripping the back of his neck. He fumbled with his key, finally getting the door unlocked and kicking it all the way open.
"Just take me right to bed," you begged, licking the side of his neck. He managed to kick the door closed and drop his keys on the entryway floor.
"You got it, honey," he promised, taking you directly to his bedroom. His cock was painfully hard, and you rubbed against him as you slid down his body. You reached for the bottom of your dress, but Bradley beat you to it, needing to be the one to undress you. He could tell you were squeezing your legs together as he pulled the dress over your head and set it gently on his desk chair.
"Oh God, look at you," he groaned. Your body was fantastic; curvy in all the right places. You were wearing a matching white bra and underwear. It was nothing fancy, but it worked for him. Really well.
"Come here," you gasped, reaching for him. Bradley peppered kisses along your cheeks and got busy removing your matching underwear set.
"Fuck," was all he managed as you stood naked before him. He wrapped his hands around your ribs and gently stroked the undersides of your tits. You were like warm butter in his hands, rubbing yourself against him and moaning his name. You were kissing his neck and the scars on his chin as your hands started tugging at the front of his shirt, and he let you yank it over his head.
"On the bed, honey," he told you, and you scrambled up to the middle and laid on your back. You watched intently, propped up on one elbow, and chewed your lip as he undid the front of his jeans and carefully pulled them over his aching cock. He did the same with his boxers and your jaw dropped.
"You ready for me?" he asked, running a finger along your slit and collecting some of your wetness. "Or you want me to get you wetter?"
You watched him lick you from his fingers and then you pulled him down for a kiss, slipping your tongue into his mouth to taste it too. When you didn't answer his question, he dipped his fingers gently back into your folds and teased you a bit. You rode his hand as he fucked your mouth with his tongue. He knew you were wet enough, but he was planning on having as much fun with you as he could.
"How about now? You wet enough, or you need my mouth?"
"I need your mouth," you whined, and Bradley kissed his way down your body until his mouth connected with your pussy. He worked his tongue against your opening, lapping up everything you gave him. Then he teased your clit, and you were squirming so much, you almost kicked him in the head.
He chuckled as you yanked on his hair, getting his mouth right where you wanted it. "Does that feel good?" he managed to ask, your grip was unrelenting.
"Shut up and keep doing that. I'm gonna come," you demanded.
Bradley worked his tongue over your clit just how you wanted it, and he didn't stop until your screeching died down and your fingers released his hair.
"Oh my God," you gasped after a few seconds, fully sated. "You're really good at that." You propped yourself up on one elbow again and reached for him. He crawled back up and kissed you, tipping you back against the bed. The startled yet satisfied look in your eyes spurred him on.
"Let me grab a condom and I'll make you come at least two more times," he told you. You groaned and tilted your head back, waiting impatiently for him to return with the box of condoms that were on the desk. He rolled one down his length and you reached for him.
He sucked hard on your nipples, enjoying the whining sounds you were making. His name sounded like a broken curse word every time you said it, and pretty soon you were no longer able to speak at all.
He fucked you hard into his mattress over and over until you came a second time. Then he sat on his desk chair, and you rode him nice and slow, rocking with your head tipped back. When his fingers glided up your sides to play with your tits, you grabbed his solid shoulders and squeaked, "I'm ticklish!"
"I wish I had known that before," he whispered with a smile, softly grazing your side again before pulling your nipple between his teeth. Your laughter turned into a long moan as he sucked and bit you. He could tell you were so close to number three, and he used his thumb on your clit as your movements became a little erratic.
"Just like that. You look so pretty with my dick inside you. You look so good riding me. Damnit," he groaned as you came, digging your fingers into his biceps as your pussy squeezed his throbbing cock. "I'm right there," he told you, and you rocked a little harder and kissed his lips as he moaned into your mouth.
Bradley's tongue tangled with yours as you rode him through his orgasm. You were both a sweaty mess as you collapsed against his chest and let your cheek come to rest on his shoulder. As your breaths grew steadier and your lips met his neck in sweet little kisses, Bradley was afraid to speak and break this moment. So he just stroked your back and your arms as he grew soft inside you.
Finally you spoke. "We should be ashamed of ourselves."
"Why?" Bradley asked, alarmed by what that could mean.
"We could have been doing this for years, Bradshaw. Years. And now we have to try and play catch up."
Bradley tipped your chin up so you were looking at him, and you shared a smile. "Just give me a few minutes and I'll be ready for more."
You grinned at him and kissed his cheek. "Sounds good to me." You paused, but didn't look away from him. "And actually, you know, I'll be back in town in four weeks, on my way back to Florida. Do you want to-"
"Yes, definitely," he confirmed, before you had even finished your sentence.

— i would love to go back to the old house;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
★ synopsis: you and satoru make a promise to marry each other if you’re both still alone by thirty.
miyan’s notes: no curse au, no warnings, maybe some realness, just fluff and smut. wc: 3681.
Tumblr media
you’re both seventeen, laying on the grass behind the school gym, where the sun’s dipped low enough to cast everything in a warm, golden haze.
it’s late spring—almost summer—and the scent of cut grass clings to your clothes, sweet and sharp. someone’s left a soccer ball abandoned a few feet away. the world feels lazy and endless, like nothing important could ever happen here.
you’re side by side, arms brushing but never quite touching, your pinkies just barely grazing sometimes when one of you shifts. satoru’s sunglasses are crooked on his face, and he doesn’t fix them. his white hair is fanned out messily over the grass, and there’s a blade of it stuck behind his ear. he hasn’t noticed.
he was dumped yesterday. you heard about it from someone else before he told you—his ex apparently said he was too much. too loud, too intense, too everything. it made you kind of furious, but you didn’t say that. you just sat with him today, like always.
your first real relationship ended last week. it wasn’t even dramatic. just two people slowly realizing they didn’t quite know how to hold each other anymore. still, it left a hollow feeling in your chest, one you’re pretending isn’t there.
he exhales, slow and dramatic. “you ever think we’re just… cursed or something?”
you snort. “that’s a little dramatic.”
“it’s me,” he says, turning his head toward you, and you can see the curve of a grin forming. “drama is my whole thing.”
you roll your eyes, but you don’t say no. he quiets down again, goes back to staring at the sky with a look that’s a little more thoughtful than usual. birds are flying overhead in little staggered v’s, and there’s a faint breeze brushing your skin.
then, like it’s the most casual thing in the world, he says, “if we’re both single at thirty, let’s just marry each other.”
you blink. the silence after feels loud.
“what?” you laugh, eyebrows lifting. “what kind of pact is that?”
he shrugs, still looking up. “a realistic one. we already know each other’s worst habits. you can tolerate me. that’s rare.”
“you’re an idiot,” you say, smiling despite yourself. “but sure. yeah. a backup plan. solid.”
you mean it like a joke. like a throwaway thing. but then he turns his head toward you, and his glasses slide down his nose just enough that you can see his eyes—really see them.
“no,” he says. “i’m serious.”
you stare at him. he’s not laughing. there’s something oddly earnest in the way he says it, like he’s offering something fragile and important without realizing it. like a promise he doesn’t expect you to keep, but wants you to want to.
your heart does a weird thing. tightens. pulls.
you swallow. “okay. me too.”
neither of you says anything after that. the sun dips lower. the breeze picks up. the world moves around you, but for a moment, it’s just the two of you in that quiet stretch of time, young and bruised and hopeful.
your pinkies brush again.
this time, neither of you pulls away.
years pass.
at first, the promise is a soft, silly memory tucked into the back of your mind like a note in a locker you never emptied. you think about it sometimes—on your birthday, when your heart gets broken again, when you see a wedding invitation in the mail and wonder how people keep getting so lucky. the pact becomes a kind of quiet comfort, a lighthouse in the distance. not real, but there. always there.
you go to university. he does too. different cities, different people, different rhythms. you both grow into yourselves slowly, awkwardly, like plants reaching for light in the wrong season. you learn how to love better. how to walk away when you need to. how to be alone and not hate it.
you date people who are kind. people who challenge you. people who hurt you in ways that teach you something. some of them ask about him, the boy in the old photos, the one whose name still slips out when you’re tired or wine-drunk. you always brush it off, say he’s just someone from your past. nothing more. nothing to see here.
he dates too. once, you find out through a mutual that he’s seeing someone seriously—a girl who’s smart and sweet and nothing like you. it bothers you more than you want to admit. but you never say anything. you just keep your head down, push it away like you do with everything else that hurts. you’re happy for him, you think. you should be.
life moves fast, and slow, and fast again. you move cities. he changes jobs. there are stretches of time where you don’t think about him at all—and then suddenly everything reminds you of him again. a song he used to hum under his breath. the way someone else laughs. a white-haired stranger passing by on the street, so close to the version of him you remember but not quite right. the ghost of him lingers, not haunting you, but following you in the corners of your life.
and then, there are the moments when life tangles your paths back together.
it’s your friend’s birthday—an old classmate who’s turned their tiny apartment into a chaos of people and warm lights. the kind of party that’s too loud, too crowded, but you’re here anyway because it’s easier to go than stay home. the tension of being alone hits you in the chest as soon as you walk in. everyone’s happy. everyone’s with someone. everyone’s moving forward, but you’re stuck at some point in the past, lingering in the gap between where you were and where you should be.
you almost don’t go, tired from work, emotionally drained. but you show up, because something tells you to. maybe it’s because you promised yourself you’d stop running from things that make you uncomfortable. or maybe it’s just the weird way life works, pulling you toward the people and places you’re not ready for yet.
you’re standing near the kitchen, sipping a drink you don’t really care about, when you hear it—a laugh that cuts through the noise, familiar and unexpected. a laugh you know instantly, one that hits you in the chest like a familiar song. it’s a sound you haven’t heard in years, but it’s like it never left.
you turn, the crowd of people blurring out of focus, and there he is.
satoru.
he’s leaning against the fridge, talking to someone you don’t recognize, his hair a little longer, his shirt untucked, uncuffed. still so him, but also… different. his face is older, but still beautiful in that effortless way, the same white hair, the same sharp eyes that seem to know you even from across the room.
he sees you. he freezes. and for a second, it’s like time holds its breath.
“hey,” he says, voice soft, almost surprised. “you look…”
he doesn’t finish the sentence. but you hear it anyway. you look the same. you look different. i didn’t expect to see you here.
you smile like you’re not unraveling. like it doesn’t matter that your heart just skipped a beat. “it’s been a while.”
he hugs you then, warm and solid. it lasts a second too long. too much unsaid between you both, but it’s all there in the tension of his arms around you. the promise is still alive in the quiet air between your breaths. but neither of you mentions it.
he leaves before you do.
months later, it’s a late-night convenience store in tokyo. you’re tired, bleary-eyed, the kind of exhausted that comes from too many late shifts and not enough sleep. you’re reaching for instant noodles and a bottle of tea when you hear the shuffle of footsteps behind you. you don’t look, too focused on the shelves in front of you. but then you hear it—his voice, soft but unmistakable.
“you live around here now?” he asks, stunned.
you freeze for a moment. and then you turn.
there he is, standing in the aisle like he’s part of some strange dream. his hair is tied back messily, longer than before. he’s holding a bag of sour candies, blinking at you like he’s not sure if you’re real or if his tired eyes are just playing tricks on him.
“yeah,” you say, suddenly self-conscious. “just moved a couple months ago.”
“me too,” he says, a little sheepish. “just moved last week. tokyo’s a lot different from what i remembered.”
you laugh, and for a moment, it’s like you’re both seventeen again, standing in the hallway after class, talking about nothing. only now, it’s quieter. more knowing. there’s a little more space between you both, but you don’t feel it as much as you think you should. he’s still satoru, after all.
you talk for a few minutes, small things. the weather. work. how both of you somehow managed to end up in the same city again after all this time. his hair’s longer now, and so is yours. there’s something different about him, something worn into the lines of his face, but you’re still the same. you’re still the same. the realization hits you like a wave.
when you say goodbye, there’s a small flicker of something in his eyes. like he wants to say something else. something important. maybe you do too. but you don’t.
you both go your separate ways, the moment slipping away with every step, but neither of you forgets it. not really.
another year passes. you’re invited to a mutual friend’s engagement party. you don’t know it’s mutual until you arrive and see him standing on the balcony, glass of wine in hand. his back is to you, but you recognize the way his shoulders sit under the weight of the world, the way his posture softens when he’s trying to relax.
you hesitate. for a second, you think about leaving. about turning around and pretending you never saw him, never heard that familiar laugh or felt that same ache in your chest. but you stay. something inside you says that this is the time. that maybe, just maybe, the universe is ready for you to have the conversation you’ve been avoiding for years.
you walk over. he turns, and his eyes widen when he sees you.
“this is getting ridiculous,” he says, a grin tugging at his lips. “we keep showing up like we’re being summoned.”
you laugh, but it’s a little more nervous than you mean it to be. “maybe we are.”
you talk for fifteen minutes, small talk mostly. his girlfriend is waiting inside—he doesn’t say that, but you can tell. he’s polite, but distant this time. something in his eyes is different, more guarded than you remember. and it’s strange. it feels like a wall has gone up between you both, and you can’t figure out why. you want to ask, but you don’t. it’s not your place.
something tightens in your chest, a quiet jealousy you don’t want to feel but can’t help. so you excuse yourself early.
and then there’s the funeral.
someone you both knew in high school. someone you weren’t close to, but close enough to go. it’s raining—of course it is—and your coat is too thin for the chill. the crowd is subdued, the kind of heavy silence you only get at funerals. you stand off to the side, trying not to draw attention, but then you spot him across the crowd.
he’s standing alone under an umbrella, his jaw clenched. his eyes are cast downward, but when he looks up, he sees you. his gaze sharpens, like he’s unsure if you’re really there. but then he steps toward you, slow and hesitant.
you don’t speak much. just stand side by side beneath the gray sky, the rain soft on your faces, like a veil between everything that was and everything that could have been. you don’t know if it’s the weight of the moment or something else, but it feels like you’re both seventeen again, standing in that quiet space between friendship and something more.
afterward, when you’re on the train home, your phone buzzes. a contact name that hasn’t been on your phone for a while.
satoru: thirty’s not that far.
you stare at the screen for a long time, the words sinking into your chest like a stone. the promise that’s always been there, waiting for the right moment to be spoken. but now, in the quiet of your apartment, you don’t reply.
you think about it. about everything. about how he said it, softer than usual, quieter than you’re used to. you think about his eyes, the way they followed yours. the rain on his umbrella. the years that have passed.
you think about his voice, and you wonder if he remembers the exact words. you wonder if he ever stopped.
… you almost don’t go. again.
the invitation sits unopened on your counter for days before you cave, peeling it open with the tip of your key. you don’t recognize the name on the envelope immediately, but inside, there’s a handwritten card. a friend-of-a-friend, someone you once shared a table with at a dinner party, who remembered your smile. you had forgotten about them, honestly. but here they are, inviting you into their life, into their celebration. their quiet reminder that life moves on, and people keep finding their paths while you still seem to be standing still.
“it’ll be nice,” your coworker says when you mention it offhand. “dress up, eat fancy cake, forget your life for an evening.”
you smile. nod. pretend it’s not terrifying—the thought of being surrounded by people who’ve figured it out—who’ve found their person, their path, their place in the world. the thought of seeing them again—the ones who chose their someone. and you’re left holding only the pieces of a promise, one you had never quite stopped waiting on.
but you go anyway. because you said you would. because maybe, just maybe, it will be easier to let go of things you’re holding onto by showing up. by being there.
the venue is small and beautiful, tucked in a quiet corner of the city. ivy climbs up stone walls, winding their way to the second floor, the kind of building that feels like it’s holding its breath, waiting for something important to happen. soft music spills out from the inside, cascading into the courtyard where the last rays of the day spill gold over everyone’s skin, turning them all into something fleeting, something perfect.
you wear a color you’ve always liked on yourself, something soft and simple, but still carefully chosen. it’s funny—how you’ve started choosing your clothes more for yourself than for anyone else. how you’ve learned to dress for the person you’ve grown into, not the one you thought you’d be. you smile as you check your reflection one last time. and then, you spot it—lipstick on your teeth. for the first ten minutes, you don’t know, and then someone kindly points it out, their laugh light and warm. you laugh too, grateful for the small kindness. you take a drink from a glass of champagne that’s almost too pretty to touch, as if it should be saved for something special, and for a second, you almost feel like you belong here.
you don’t know many people at the party. that’s fine. you’ve never been one to throw yourself into the middle of things. you’ve always been the one to drift at events like these, skimming the surface, smiling politely, offering a few words here and there, but keeping your hands folded in your lap when you sit, staying small, staying unnoticed.
you make it through the ceremony. the vows are sweet. you clap when you’re supposed to. you eat a few hors d’oeuvres, and when the music gets too loud and the voices start blending into a buzz, you slip away to the balcony. it’s quiet out here. the city hums beneath you, distant and untouchable. for a moment, you let yourself breathe.
and then you hear it—laughter. soft, familiar. close.
you turn, already knowing. already feeling the weight of it before you see him.
he’s standing a few steps away from the doorway, talking to someone you don’t recognize. sleeves rolled up to his elbows, tie a little loose like he’s just been letting the night happen around him. his hair’s still white—shorter now, messier, and there’s something about the way the years have softened him in places you never thought could soften. his eyes still hold that distant glimmer, the one you always tried to make sense of. but now, there’s something more grounded in him—something that matches the tiredness you’ve started carrying around yourself.
he’s changed. and he hasn’t.
your chest tightens.
then, like some invisible thread has tugged at his spine, he turns.
his eyes land on you.
and the world tilts, just slightly.
he goes still.
you don’t move either.
something deep in your ribs aches with how long it’s been, with how many almosts have collected between you over the years. so many moments where he almost looked back, where you almost said something, where life almost collided and made sense. but it didn’t. not then. and maybe not now.
his expression shifts—surprise first, then something warmer. softer. something like disbelief, but there’s a flicker in his eyes, one that you can’t ignore. maybe it’s a memory. maybe it’s hope.
“hey,” he says, stepping closer. his voice is quieter than you remember, like he’s afraid to break the moment. “i didn’t know you were coming.”
you swallow, suddenly aware of how dry your throat is. “me either. i didn’t know we had mutual friends.”
he lets out a breath that sounds too much like a laugh. “of course we do. fate’s had a weird sense of humor since we were seventeen.”
you don’t say anything. you just look at him.
his eyes scan your face like he’s trying to memorize it all over again. he looks at you as though you’re someone he never quite expected to see again, and it feels like he’s seeing all of you, not just the parts he remembers. he’s still beautiful in that effortless way—how he’s always been—but now, there’s something real in it. something tired, something weighted, something that speaks of the years between. of all the things that have happened since.
you speak first. “you look good.”
he smiles slowly, his mouth curving up in that easy way that always made your heart trip. “so do you. better than good.”
you roll your eyes a little. “still laying it on thick, i see.”
“you used to like that,” he murmurs, and there’s something vulnerable in the way his voice dips, something nostalgic, almost like he wants to reach back through time and pull out the version of you that used to smile when he flirted. the version that used to think it meant something. “used to smile when i flirted.”
“used to,” you echo. but your voice is gentler than the words. there’s a quiet understanding between you now. something that was there before, buried beneath everything that has passed.
a beat passes.
and then he asks, almost cautiously, “are you still with anyone?”
you shake your head.
his eyes flicker, searching yours for something. for a sign. “me neither.”
your stomach flips.
there’s something there in his gaze—something that feels like an opening, like a crack where the past might slip back in. you both stand there, framed by the golden glow of the setting sun and the hum of music drifting in from the party. it feels like the air around you is waiting. like the universe has been holding its breath, waiting for this moment, just to see what you’ll do now. to see what the two of you will decide to do with all the time that has passed, with all the unspoken things between you.
“you remember,” he says, his voice barely above a whisper, “what we said, back then?”
you don’t pretend you don’t. you nod. “yeah. i remember.”
his hands slip into his pockets. he shifts a little, as though unsure of himself, and his eyes stay locked on yours. “at some point i started to think it was just a joke. something we said to make the world feel less uncertain.”
“me too,” you admit, the words soft and honest. “but it never stopped feeling real.”
he tilts his head, watching you, and you can feel the weight of everything hanging in the space between you. “i kept waiting,” he says, his voice quieter now, almost unsure. “not on purpose. not always. but every time something ended, every time i felt alone again, i’d think—maybe we’re still heading there. maybe we just haven’t caught up to the promise yet.”
your breath hitches. it feels like the air is too thick. too much. too many years folded up between you.
“and now we’re thirty,” he says, a small, stunned smile tugging at his lips. “and you’re here. and i’m here. and i don’t want to waste more time pretending like i don’t want this.”
you look at him. really look at him. and suddenly, all the years, all the almosts, all the moments where you left too early or he looked back too late, they don’t feel like failures anymore. they feel like steps—each one leading you toward this. this moment. this chance to finally make good on something that’s been waiting.
you take one step now.
closer.
his breath catches when your fingers brush his, like he’s not sure if this is real, if it’s happening. And then, when you don’t pull away, when you stay there, your fingers lacing together as though it’s always been that easy, something shifts. The years that kept you apart, the missed chances, the long silences—they start to fall away.
you lean in.
and when you kiss him, it’s not loud, not dramatic, not bursting with fireworks.
it’s quiet.
it’s soft.
it’s like coming home.
it’s like finally keeping a promise you never really stopped waiting on.

He couldn’t stop his leg from shaking as the plane continued to descend.
“Since when have you been nervous about flying?” The voice of his father it through the noise of the podcast Lewis was listening to. He moved his headphone away from his ear and turned to his Dad with a soft smile playing on his face.
“I’m not nervous because of flying, Dad. I’m just anxious to see my girl.” Lewis confessed. Anthony chuckled – his smile spread and filled his whole face.
“She’s your girl now? When did that happen?”
“YN’s been my woman from the moment you introduced us. Things have been going really good between us. I just haven’t asked her officially.”
“Why haven’t you?” Lewis sighed at the question, rubbing his forehead as he thought of an answer. The both of you had never really discussed about the boundaries of your relationship, things just fell into place. In the beginning, things were meant to be strictly casual – whenever either of you where in town or whoever could fly out. However, as things progressed over the months, the both of you found yourselves dropping everyone else and exploring things exclusively without thinking too much about it.
However, there was something about this weekend, being away from you, had left an ache in his heart when he thought of you. When you’d spoken to him, telling him that you missed him in that soft, little voice of yours, - you took the last pieces of his heart and made him yours, completely.
“It’s been on my mind lately. I just think it’s time to make it serious. I don’t want her thinking that I’m wasting her time when I know she’s the one.”
“Alright, son. As long as you do what needs to be done. The next I see her; she better be my daughter-in-law.”
“I’ll do my best.” Lewis chuckled.
~
The plane landed and he separated from his parents and rode the town car towards your address. Originally, he would have met you at his home, but it was getting renovated to extend the closet to include more space for you. When it came to fashion, the both of you were competing but you had the leg up due to your vintage bag and shoe collection. One of the many things that he loved about you.
In his hand, he only had his essential hand luggage and a bouquet of your favourite flowers. The rest of his bags would be delivered tomorrow as for what he had planned, there was no need for clothing.
With his spare key, Lewis opened the door to your townhouse and the immediate aroma of spices hit the senses of his nose. It brought a small smile to his face and the sense of welcome. He was home.
“Sweetheart! Roscoe!” He called out and the response he received was an excited squeal and an enthusiastic bark. The patter of nails on hardwood floor and soft thudding of bare feet on the wooden floor got heavier, the closer they came towards him and around the corner. You were ahead of the aging dog, in your barest form of beauty, dressed in just a white, camisole top and an old pair of his shorts. Not caring about what was in his hands, you dove into his arms and wrapped your limbs around his body. The speed in which you came at him almost knocked him out, but he quickly recovered.
“Woah!” Lewis lightly let out a laugh as he manoeuvred the flowers into his other hand and then secured his free arm around your waist as you snuggled your face into his neck and held onto him tightly. Without words, your hug conveyed how much you missed him and God, did he miss you too. Having you in his arms completed him in a way that he had never felt before.
“I missed you too, baby.” He whispered into your ear. He walked away from the door and with Roscoe following until Lewis settled on the couch with you still in his arms. You leaned back and took him in.
“Look at you.” You mumbled as you knocked his cap away from his head and freed his curls from their cage. He had been letting his curls loose lately and you swore your attraction to him increased tenfold. Your fingertips massaged the sides of his temples and his eyes fluttered close, and a lazy smile drew on his face.
“I missed you so much.” Lewis stated again which made you giggle.
“I missed you more even though we FaceTimed every day for these past two weeks.”
“Yeah, but it’s not the same as having you right in front of me, sitting on my lap.” His hands came to your waist and settled there. “Nothing compares to this moment.” He added as he drew soft, circular patterns on the sides of your hips.
“Oh yeah?” You questioned, your eyebrow quirking up as you tried to contain your glee.
“Yes, baby. Now gimme a kiss, we’ve been apart for too long.” You didn’t need telling twice as you leaned down and captured his lips as you cradled his face into your palms. He hummed softly as your lips touched and the tingling feeling of your fingers rubbing on his beard. Lewis smiled was your mouth’s entangled in a slow dance of passion. Lovers, reuniting and quenching their thirst – drinking the lust your bodies desperately seeked. Lewis’s hand came to the back of your neck and pulled you closer as the kiss deepened.
Your core began to dampen, and you could feel him hardening beneath you and for a moment, as you drowned in his consumption, a disgruntled bark broke the haze. You turned your kisses to the underside of his jawline and to his neck as Lewis finally gave Roscoe some of his attention.
“Sorry my boy. I just had to great Mummy first.” He said just before Roscoe jumped onto the couch with some effort and then forced his way in between your bodies causing the both of you to laugh. “Alright boy. You have my attention.” You got up from his lap and placed one more kiss on his forehead and scratched behind Roscoe’s ears.
“Go freshen up, I’ll finish getting dinner ready.
~
Half an hour later, Lewis returned to the living room feeling livelier, changed into another pair of grey sweatpants and nothing more but the rainbow pearls around his neck along with a customised diamond encrusted cuban link chain that you bought him for his birthday. He kept his curls loose, a bit more damp from moisturising them. You licked your lips as you drank in his form. Witnessing his muscles and taut body move across the living room, relaxed and little sluggish. His freshly detailed tattoos, glistening from the shea body oil you know that he took from your side of the vanity table.
As you prepared a plate for him, you began to think to yourself that if you had told yourself a year ago that you would be fixing a plate for a man and becoming a mother to an aging dog who took your heart, you would have laughed at yourself. But here you were, doing exactly that. Tony Morrison was turning in her grave.
You silently watched as Lewis prepared Roscoe for bed, getting him more comfortable.
“Baby, come eat.”
“What did you make?” Lewis asked as he stood to his full height and approached you by the kitchen island.
“Shredded tofu tacos with pico de gallo with triple cooked chips. I made buffalo cauliflower too but that depends on whether you finish these tacos or not.”
“Everything sounds so good.” Lewis unconsciously licked his lips as you placed the food down in front of him. “Your cooking is always good.”
You sat beside him as you watched him eat and be happily fulfilled. Your hand came to the nape of his neck, playing with the tiny trestles of curls that laid there as he ate each of tacos on his plate.
“You should have been a chef.” Lewis groaned as he cleared everything that was on his plate, including the small bowl of buffalo cauliflower that he asked for.
“Why do people love saying that to me just because I can cook?” You giggled.
“Because all of that elbow work you put in could open a very successful, generational restaurant.”
“Fuck off.” You playfully dismissed him as you shoved his shoulder. With his plate clear, you took it away from him. As you stood by the sink, he couldn’t help but admire everything about your being. Before he met you and in the beginning days of your relationship – the hyper independent side of you would have never been doing everything that you were doing now but Lewis took great pride in the fact that you only did this for him.
The owner of your own accounting firm – one of the few forensic accountants in the city. Because of your niche, you were one of a kind and you were the best in the game. Your father and Anthony were tennis buddies, and you had a shared a few games with the man. Anthony introducing you to his son changed your lives.
“How’s the firm?” Lewis asked as he drank his water.
“Good… We finally aced the TSB contract.” You announced which caused his face to break out into a wide grin before he pulled you into his arms as he placed kisses all over your face.
“I knew you would get it! Congratulations sweetheart.”
“Thank you!” You giggled as you wrapped your arms around his neck and softly pecked his lips, the laughter never stopping as he kept coming back for more kisses. His fingers caressed your back as he held you close.
“Joining the baller’s club huh.” You rolled your eyes at his playful comments. As much you were making in the upper six figures – it was nothing compared to your wealthy lover. His generous gifts certainly helped.
“Let me actually fulfil part of my contract first. They could easily change their minds.”
“Then come to a race weekend. It’s more than just entertainment; it’s also a really good place to network with people on an international scale.”
“Look at you being supportive and shit. Am I also getting a hint of something else?” You raised an eyebrow and looked down at him inquisitively.
“I know you’ve been to a couple of races but this time I want you there as my VIP guest.” Lewis nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders as he absentmindedly drew patterns on your exposed skin.
“What race?”
“Which ever race that you can fit into your schedule. I know you’re a busy woman.”
“I’ll see what I can do for you, Mr Hamilton.” You whispered as you leaned down and captured his lips. He hummed softly into your mouth as your tongue leisurely caressed his, taking over his senses as you began to consume his every thought. Lewis could feel himself hardening against you as you pressed against him and all of his feelings that had been building up over the past few weeks that had mounted over.
“Take me out.” He suggested, mumbling onto your lips as he broke away. Your eyes darkened with lust, licking your lips – savouring his taste.
“Just like that?” You whispered.
“Just like that.” Lewis confirmed with his voice in a lowly tone as he moved to his feet and glided his hands away from your hips to your ass and groped it. Shifting your positions, your back was then pressed into the kitchen island edge as he crowded your space. Your hands slid into his sweatpants, and you pulled him out just as he asked.
Lewis sighed softly as your warm hand covered his tip, and you began to tug. His hand came to the back of your neck and pulled your lips towards his. With each stroke of your hand, you could feel him getting harder and harder. His pre-cum coated your palm, making your pulls more fluid, turning him on even more than he already was.
And you? Your essence was beginning to collect in between your thighs. You gasped into the heated kiss as he suddenly lifted your body into his arms, and you secured your legs around his waist. You moaned into his mouth as you felt his length against your warm centre.
Once in the bedroom, you began to strip at the clothing that was suffocating you. Lewis gently laid you down on the bed and pulled the shorts down the length of your legs. The he did the same, discarding the sweatpants and standing in between your legs.
Looking down at you, parting your thighs softly until he could see your cunt. Your core was dripping, your clit blooming and swollen. It never took much to get you wet like this, but it was only something that he could do to you.
“So fucking pretty.” He mumbled, more to himself than you but his comment made you smile, nonetheless.
“You always say that.” You responded as you parted your legs further as he hovered above you.
“Because it’s true. Prettiest pussy I’ve ever seen, and it’s all mine.” He said before he crashed his lips into yours, craving your taste more than he’d ever before. With his tongue parting your lips as he deepened the kiss, he pushed two fingers inside of you.
“Uuhhh.” You whimpered as your tongues collided hungrily. It was like the pit of your stomach was collapsing within itself at how good his fingers felt inside of you. Your walls were so snug and tight around his fingers.
“You’re soaking me already, baby.” He mumbled, his teeth latching onto your bottom lip and lightly tugging.
“Mmm.” You whimpered yet again and wrapped your hand around his wrist as he pushed his fingers deeper into your pussy. The both of you followed a rhythm, the pace increasing as your hips lifted off the bed as your breaths became heavier. Your braids had fallen out of their bun and using his free hand, Lewis loosened the rest and tugged at them, forcing you to meet his eyes. Chest to chest, the chain around his neck brushing against your breast as his hair tickled your cheeks as the curls created a curtain around your face. Complete tunnel vision on him as he made you feel good with his fingers.
Lewis watched as your eyes rolled to the back of your head as he curled his fingers and hooked them on your spot. The sound of your name leaving your lips was so sweet and it made his dick throb even harder. He pulled his fingers out of you, causing you to pout. He quickly changed that expression when he pushed those fingers into your mouth.
You eagerly sucked on the digits, your tongue making sure not to mis any drop – sucking on them just like you would his dick. He smirked as he watched desire drive your actions. With his fingers pushing on your gag reflex. Lewis shifted his body so that he was at eye level with your pussy. The back of your thighs was on his shoulders as his mouth watered at the sight of your lower lips. He unconsciously licked his lips as your arousal trickled out of you.
The sweetest nectar of forbidden fruit.
“Hold your legs for me, sweetheart.” Lewis instructed and you followed his command. Not wasting anymore time, he spread your use open and swiped his tongue from your asshole to your cunt and back. Soft mewls left your mouth as you squirmed beneath his hold. His hands held you down by the back of your thighs as he completely devoured you. He circled your clit with his tongue, dipping the tip in and out of your cunt -making a mess.
“Oh god!” You cried our as your legs tried to close around his head.
“Just me baby.” Lewis chuckled. “It’s me taking care of this sweet ass pussy.”
“Yeess!” You cried as your hand planted themselves in his thick curls and tugged. Urging him for more and Lewis wasted no time giving it to you. As he feasted on your clit, he dipped his finger back into your core. The combination of his tongue and his fingers had your walls tightening around his digits and and he could feel your orgasm on the rise.
“Let me have it. I need it baby.”
“Lew- shit!” You hissed, crying out in pleasure as your juices began to leak out of you.
“Give me more! C’mon!” He urged you. You body seized as your climax took hold, and he desperately lapped your juices until your body stopped trembling.
One of the many things that you loved about Lewis was that he treated sex like an art form. He always took his time learning your body, accepting every reaction that you gave hi, pushing him to stroke you, harder and faster past your limits.
“Goddamn, so fucking beautiful.” Lewis whispered as he placed a kiss on the inside of each thigh and trailed up the length of your body. He hungrily claimed your lips, kissing you with a passionate force that provoked whimpers out of you. Your essence coating his lips, making sure that you know how good you taste.
“I need you inside of me.” You whispered against his mouth as your hand found its way between your bodies and wrapped around his dick.
“Put it in for me, baby.” He mumbled as he lifted your leg and placed it over his shoulder as the other, he held down with his hand as you slowly pushed him into you. Your eyes immediately closed your pussy fit around him like a glove. Made just for him, that’s how good it felt. Nothing and no one compared to this moment.
And you loved it every time.
“Every time.” He sighed as he buried himself deeper into you. Your hand came to his chin and tugged him closer by his bear. You pecked his lips before you pushed your thumb into his mouth. The tingles that shot through you due to the suction made your pussy clench round him.
“Fuck me like you hate me.” You whispered against his mouth.
“Oh, I will. I just needed a minute to appreciate how you feel.” Your eyes slowly peopled open and locked in with his lust filled ones. Lewis crowded your space as he began to move in and out of you.
Nails dug into his skin as your mouth hung open as his every thrust rattled your body. Lewis’s brows furrowed as he enjoyed the fee of your walls rhythmically pulsating around him. Your warmth, your tightness, your wetness – all for him to experience.
No one else.
“Oh my god!” You gasped. Through your glazed eyes, you saw him smirk down at you. He began to circle his hips, driving deeper into your tunnel but keeping the same pace.
“Right there?”
“Yess – Oh fuck! Yes!” Your eyes crossed as you threw your head back. Lewis leaned down and sucked on your exposed neck as he pressed the tip of his dick against the ceiling of your cunt. The sounds you were making were even foreign to you; your toes curled above his head as the knot in the pit of your stomach clenched.
“Fuck, baby. You always feel so good.” He trapped his bottom lip with his teeth and looked where your bodies joined. The wetter and tighter you got, the more he sped up until a ring of your cream collected at the base of his dick.
“Lewis!” You cried out his name.
“I know baby, I know. Give it to me.” He mumbled as he leaned down and placed kisses along your jawline. “Come on this dick, YN.”
Your words got stuck in your throat as you arched into his chest.
“I want you to look, sweetheart.” Lewis said. “Look at how I fuck this sweet pussy, and you cream all over me.”
“Baabbyy.” The nickname came out as a whimper as you dipped your head down and looked as his dick nestled deep inside and pull out, over and over. Your cream was covering his length and catching on his trimmed pubes. Without thinking, you reached down and with your finger, collected your essence and brought your fingers to his mouth. Lewis groaned as your cum touched his tastebuds.
The look of pure hunger in his eyes was your trigger. Tingles shot up your spine and took over you. “OH FUUU-.” The words were lost in a silent scream as your orgasm erupted. Lewis moaned aloud as you felt his release flood your walls which intensified your climax. You dropped your legs to his waist and wrapped your arms around him after he was spent.
He collapsed on top of you and took deep breaths to gather yourselves even though he was pressing on your chest. Lewis then patted the side of your thigh, and you moved your limbs away from his body. You softly sighed with a pout as he pulled out of you and disappeared into the en-suite.
You climbed towards the headboard and laid down onto your stomach with your eyes closed. You felt the bed dip beside you, then the warm dampness of a cloth on the inside of your thighs. A hum left you as you enjoyed the tenderness of his touch as he cleaned you up and left chaste kisses where his fingers gripped your skin.
“Thank you, my love.” Your voice came out airy and soft. The way you sound when you are tired.
“You’re not falling asleep on me, are you?”
“Not a chance. You have much to make up for.”
Lewis chuckled. “I do, don’t I?”
“You were only gone for two weeks but why did I miss you so much this time?”
“Because before I left, we had an unfinished conversation.”
You turned around onto your back, the jiggling flesh of your breast bouncing with the movement. The sight of that had his dick standing to attention. By the little smirk on your face, you knew what he had referring to.
“You have been my unexpected surprise. Coming at a moment I had sworn no distractions.”
“Am I a distraction to you, Mr Hamilton?” You asked as you leaned forward onto your elbows, and it brought your face closer to his.
“No, you’re not sweetheart. You’re everything I didn’t expect to be blessed with and more.”
“I like that answer.” You closed the gap between you and pecked his lips.
“I like you.” He murmured as he kissed you back, holding onto your Ips for longer. Your hand came to cup his cheek.
“I like you too.” With one last peck, you moved away from the bed. You don’t know why but the sudden urge to run took hold and you swiftly moved to the closet as the beating of your heart was loud in your ears. You had known that this conversation was coming. It had been lingering over your heads for more than enough time now and yet, a part of you was still not ready to face it. You had already given so much into this relationship and what scared you the most was how … easy it was to do. Lewis pulled out parts of you that had been dormant and you hated how it made you love him even more for it.
To be confronted with his feelings too. To know that he reciprocated what you gave and then-some was overwhelming.
“You avoiding me sweetheart?” You heard him speak from behind you as you turned your attention your jewellery vanity.
“Babe…”
“No, no. You are avoiding me.”
“I’m not. I’m just trying to get my emotions in control.” You confessed as you stayed facing the dresser, sorting out your jewellery, trying to keep your fingers busy.
“Talk to me then.” His voice sounded closer than before, but you didn’t feel his warmth.
“You have no idea how badly I want this.” You whispered your admission. “And for so long, it felt like admitting it out loud was a fool’s dream.”
“Did you think I didn’t want the same thing as you?” He asked.
“It’s not that I didn’t but I was weary because I know that this is a trying time in your career and you’re so focused on reclaiming what was stolen from you and you’re such a narrow minded visionary when it comes to your goals and as much as I can feel that you want this – you are right in saying I might be a distraction.” You nervously chewed on your bottom lip as your fears spilled out. You still weren’t looking at him, but you felt his arms circling your waist and his face buried in the crook of you neck.
“It would be foolish of me to say you’re wrong. You’re right, I do want to get back to the top of my game and I’m doing everything in my power to make sure that I do. And despite saying all of that, the way I feel about you YN far surpasses that. We were meant to find each other when we did. You are here to remind me that there are things that don’t wait for the right moment. I would be a fucking idiot if I let you go and ask you to wait when I can experience what we have now and grow in love together.”
You were quiet as you let his words wash over you and settle within your heart. “You really mean that?” You asked, your voice soft but full of hope. Your bodies swayed side to side as laid kisses on your neck and up to the back of your ear.
“I do. I want this for as long as you want me, but I don’t want to do this with anyone else, and I don’t want to.” His touch melted you as he explored your curves, enticing your senses, and you could feel his hardness beginning to press against your ass. Your body felt like it was vibrating from how much it craved him.
“Lewis.” You mumbled his name as he bent your body forward until you were pressed over the vanity table. The bite of the wood against your chest did not compare to the sizzling touch of his fingers in between your thighs, spreading your wetness around. Your body just called to hi and he always knew how to answer.
“Ssshhh, I know just what you need, sweetheart.” He spoke as he parted your legs even further and slipped right back into you. You braced yourself by holding onto the vanity’s edge as he delivered long and deep strokes.
“Oh my!” You gasped as your eyes rolled to the back of your head. His thrusts rattled your body over and over until your legs were trembling beneath you. The way that he was controlling your body, you knew that there would be no-one else that would ever come close.
Your orgasm quickly rose, jumbling your thoughts and only leaving Lewis. Your hand behind and pressed against his abs.
“Move your fucking hand!” He hissed through his gritted teeth as he pushed himself deeper into you. “You told me to fuck you like I hated you and I am.” You could hear the teasing in his voice. Then he wrapped your braids around his wrist and pulled until your back was deeply arched. The new angle had you gasping for air and standing on your tiptoes as you braced yourself.
The slapping of his pelvis against your ass, your mingled heavy breathing, and the quivering of your cunt around his dick was pleasurably overwhelming.
Tell me you’re mine, YN.”
“I – I, oh GOD!” You screamed as your eyes closed with tears lining your lashes.
“Fucking tell me!” He taunted with a heavy slap on your ass cheeks.
“Yes! Yes! I’m yours!” You moaned out loud. Using your braids, he pulled you up to his chest and placed your right knee onto the vanity table. His left hand came to your jaw and other came in between your thighs and rubbed on your clit in rhythm with his thrusts.
Lewis licked his lips as he watched the pleasure completely take over your face. He held onto your jaw and the pressure forced you to open your eyes and meet his gaze.
“You promise?” His words soft and light as if his dick wasn’t hammering on your sensitive spot. You nodded your head as your eyes crossed as you clawed at the hand applying pressure on your throat. Your moans turned to soft but heavy whimpers as your walls tightly clenched around his dick, causing Lewis to hiss against your cheek.
He pounded you faster and faster until both you and the vanity were rattling. You held on tightly as your climax peaked and Lewis held onto you tightly as he coated your walls, his hoarse moans sweetly ringing in your ears. He rutted into you until he was spent.
The smell of your sex and the sound of your breathing were your only companion until you opened your eyes and the first thing you spotted was the crack on the side of the vanity mirror. You couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped.
“What?” Lewis questioned as he untangled himself from you and turned you around until you were facing him.
“We broke the vanity.” You said as you played with his chains. His eyes moved past your head to the crack. He smiled as he turned back to you until his lips met yours and pulled you into a passionate kiss.
“You won’t need this one anymore. I bought you a bigger and sturdier one for the new closet in Knightsbridge.” The lack of hesitation in his statement brought finality to what this was.
“This is it huh?” You smiled as he picked you up in his arms and headed towards the shower.
“This is it. You’re the only one for me, YN.” He smiled as you ran your hands through his now sweat damp curls. You hugged him tighter. Yeah, this was it for you too.

Your shoes echoed softly against the polished wood floor as you slipped into the staff room. Thankfully, it was empty. The moment the door shut behind you, you exhaled like you’d been holding your breath for hours. You stood there in the middle of the room, your arms wrapped tightly around yourself, as if you were trying to physically hold all your emotions in. You didn’t even know how your legs even carried you there. Your heart was still hammering in your chest, your pulse deafening in your ears.
What just happened?
Your chest burned. Not with sadness but with fury. You were angry. No, scratch that, you were livid.
How dare he say those words—so easily, so suddenly—like he hadn’t spent weeks pushing you away. Like he hadn’t left you in that gray zone, hovering between hope and heartbreak, constantly questioning if you were the problem. You’d convinced yourself to move on. To detach. To protect your own heart. And now, after all of it, he wanted to say I love you? Just like that?
After everything. After making you feel like you were the fool for reading too much into the way his eyes lingered, the way he looked at you like you were everything—and then turned cold the moment you stepped a little too close, dismissed you like you were the problem, the one who “flirted too much.” You’d swallowed that hurt. You moved on. You forced yourself to. And now, suddenly, he loves you?
You let out a bitter laugh, pacing the room.
Finally, you couldn’t take it anymore. Slowly, with trembling hands, you grabbed your bag from the shelf where you’d left it earlier that morning. You needed to leave. Now.
*******************
Minho didn’t even realize how long he’d been standing there, his fingers tangled in his hair, his heart hammering in his chest like it wanted to escape his ribs. His breath came in shallow, ragged gasps, and every moment since you’d walked away played on repeat in his head, like a broken record.
I lost her.
The thought echoed in his mind, louder with each passing second.
He didn’t hear the footsteps at first. It wasn’t until Hyunjin’s voice cut through the thick silence that Minho finally snapped back to reality.
“Hyung?”
Minho didn’t respond. His eyes were fixed on the ground, his body hunched in on itself, trying to hold himself together when everything inside him was falling apart.
“Hyung, what’s going on?” Hyunjin asked again, softer this time, stepping closer. He bent down beside Minho, concern furrowing his brow.
Minho shook his head, his voice barely above a whisper. “I lost her, Hyunjin... I don’t know what to do.”
Hyunjin’s heart twisted at the sight of his hyung like this, a shell of the confident, playful Minho he’d always known. The way his hyung’s hands gripped his hair tighter as he let out a pained groan, his eyes glassy with unshed tears. It was raw—painful.
“You didn’t lose her yet,” Hyunjin said, his voice firm but gentle as he put a hand on Minho’s shoulder. “I know it feels like you did. But you can still fix this.”
Minho’s face twisted in anguish, his lips trembling as he let out a breathless laugh, but it was hollow, empty. “I don’t know if I can. I... I hurt her, Jinnie. I pushed her away when all I had to do was be honest. And now... now she’s gone. She walked away from me.”
Hyunjin stayed quiet for a moment, taking in Minho’s words. He could see it now—the weight of regret, the desperation in his eyes.
“I don’t think she’s gone,” Hyunjin said carefully. “You’re both stubborn, hyung. You’ve been dancing around each other for so long. You didn’t want to admit it, and neither did she. But I don’t think it’s over. Not yet.”
Minho looked up at Hyunjin then, his eyes searching, hoping, desperate for any kind of reassurance. “But what if it is? What if I ruined it beyond repair? What if she doesn’t want me anymore?”
Hyunjin paused for a moment, then spoke quietly, “You’re not the only one who’s scared, hyung. She’s scared, too. But you’re the one who has to be brave now. Not only for her— but for yourself too. Because if you don’t try, you’ll regret it forever. You know that.”
Minho let out a shaky breath, his shoulders sagging. Hyunjin’s words hit harder than he expected. Maybe it wasn’t too late. Maybe there was still a chance, but only if he had the courage to act.
Hyunjin stood up, offering his hand to Minho. “You’re going to fix this, hyung. But you have to start with telling her the truth. About everything. And you’ve got to be ready for whatever comes after. Don’t let her slip away without fighting for her.”
Minho’s hand trembled as he took Hyunjin’s, pulling himself up to his feet. His heart still ached, but the words hit something deep inside of him. Maybe it wasn’t too late.
*******************
You barely remembered how you got home. The keys slipped from your fingers twice before you finally managed to unlock the door. The moment you stepped inside, your knees gave out and you slid down against the wall, feeling the weight of everything crash over you.
Your phone wouldn't stop buzzing. Hyunjin kept calling again and again. You pressed your forehead against your knees, willing yourself not to break down, willing yourself not to hope. And when your phone buzzed for the tenth time, you simply reached over, turned it off, and tossed it into a corner.
You couldn't do this. Not right now. Maybe not ever.
The next morning, your body moved on autopilot. You typed a message to your supervisor with trembling fingers, lying easily.
“I have a bad migraine. Won’t be able to work on fittings today. I’ll continue working on the designs remotely.”
A polite response came back almost immediately—“Take care. Focus on feeling better.”
You needed space—space from him, from the suffocating weight of everything. It was already the final month of your internship. Just a few more weeks, and you wouldn’t have to see him again.
You told yourself that over and over like a mantra as you buried yourself in sketches, swatches, sewing patterns. The living room became your sanctuary. You stayed hunched over your work for hours, sketching until your fingers cramped, trying to come up with excuses to tell your supervisor so that you do not have to step anywhere near their dressing rooms. Anywhere near him for the remaining internship period.
One step at a time—you just had to get through this.
The major stage collaboration was coming up, the biggest project of your internship, the one that could launch your career if you gave it your all.
Let the countdown begin.
*******************
48 Hours Before the Concert
You returned to work with your heart armored in ice.
The company was in chaos. The stylists were rushing, the managers were running, the boys from both groups were rehearsing endlessly. No one had time to notice that you’d disappeared from their orbit—well except for Minho and Hyunjin.
You avoided their practice room like it was a battlefield. Instead, you locked yourself away in the design room, sketching out costumes, adjusting stitching details—anything to keep your hands busy, anything to keep your mind from wandering.
Minho tried to talk to you. At first, you heard his footsteps. You caught glimpses of him hovering by the door. Once, when you dared to glance up, you saw him standing just outside the window, his face tense, uncertain. But you dropped your head back down before he could gather the courage to step inside. You didn’t give him a chance.
Hyunjin also tried texting, looking for you after rehearsals, even poking his head into the design room but couldn’t find you since every time, you made yourself smaller, quieter, easier to miss.
You weren’t ready to face Minho. You weren’t sure if you ever would be.
At some point, even Hyunjin gave up trying, swept away into the madness of final rehearsals, concept checks, and the insane pressure of the collaboration stage they were preparing.
You thought you were safe. You thought you could make it to the end.
24 Hours Before the Concert
Minho was unraveling. He didn’t even bother pretending anymore. He was searching for you like a man possessed. Between rehearsals, between fittings, between breaks—his eyes flicked around desperately, always hoping to catch a glimpse.
He sent messages—one after another.
Minho: "Can we please talk?" Minho: "Just for a minute. You don’t even have to say anything. Please." Minho: "I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Y/N."
You stared at the notifications, feeling your chest clench painfully.
You left them unanswered.
Because you were afraid. Because you didn’t know if you could survive hearing more empty words. Because some wounds weren’t meant to be picked open again.
That night, Minho sat in the darkened practice room, back against the mirror. The others had gone home. He stayed. The blue glow of his phone lit up his face, your unread messages staring back at him like ghosts.
He typed. Deleted. Typed again.
His thumb hovered over the send button for a long time before he finally pressed it.
Minho: "I miss you."
Short. Honest. Bare. You never replied.
12 Hours Before the Concert
The final rehearsal was a whirlwind of noise and energy.
Seventeen and Stray Kids crisscrossed the stage, voices overlapping, last-minute notes flying as everyone tried to perfect every second. Everyone was running around doing their assigned tasks– sound engineers hovered by the sides of the stage, tweaking mic volumes and running emergency checks, stage managers paced with clipboards, calling out timing cues and adjusting placements, stylists were doing last-minute fittings.
You stayed hidden behind the racks of costumes, keeping yourself busy threading last-minute repairs on stage outfits, sketching alterations for the collaboration stages. Minho saw you once—just a glimpse—and started towards you immediately.
You ducked behind a different aisle and disappeared before he could even call your name.
He slumped against the wall, dragging a hand through his hair. His heart ached. He was trying. God, he was trying. But you wouldn’t even look at him. And he knew he deserved it.
That night, he sat alone again. Hyunjin found him there, in the same spot, legs pulled up, forehead resting on his arms.
"Hyung…" Hyunjin said softly.
Minho didn't look up.
"I don’t think she hates you," Hyunjin added after a while, voice low. "She’s hurt. But she doesn’t hate you."
"I hate myself enough for the both of us," Minho murmured.
*******************
Day of the Concert
You were up before sunrise and rushed to the company, it was going to be a long day. You began helping the senior stylists prepare everything. You kept your head down, blending into the background.
Minho tried to find you again, between makeup, between fittings.
Once, you walked right past him. You felt his eyes—burning, aching—trailing you, but you didn’t turn around.
He watched your retreating figure with a helpless kind of yearning, his heart feeling like it was being squeezed dry.
He typed one last message.
Minho: "If you don’t want to forgive me... I understand. But I love you. I love you, Y/N."
He didn’t expect a reply. He just wanted you to know.
You read his message, but your fingers stayed frozen above the screen. You couldn't trust yourself to reply. Not yet.
Soon after, it was time to leave for the concert venue.
Everyone from your company piled into multiple vans, buzzing with pre-show nerves and excitement. Seventeen would meet you all there, coming straight from their own company.
You slipped into one of the vans early, picking a seat at the very back. You tucked your bag close, phone clutched tightly in your hands. Minho hurried behind you, heart hammering in his chest.
There was a small opening beside you. He didn't even think—he moved to sit there.
He was about to slide into the seat beside you but at the very last second, you shifted, scooting away from the aisle, pressing yourself impossibly closer to the window. Pretending like you needed more space.
Minho froze mid-motion.
He stood there, awkward, shattered, the empty space where you had been just a second ago feeling colder than anything he'd ever known.
His hand tightened around the back of the seat for a second, his heart thudding painfully in his chest. Without a word, he dropped into a seat several rows in front instead, boxed in between Jisung and Seungmin.
The van door slammed shut, the engine rumbled to life—but Minho barely noticed. He barely heard the others laughing, hyping each other up. He barely felt the road vibrating under the tires. All he could feel was you—silent, turned away from him, just a few feet out of reach.
When they finally pulled up behind the venue, staff started piling out. You were the first one to slip off the van, blending into the chaos of bodies and equipment and flashing lights.
Minho lingered for a second in the seat, swallowing thickly as he watched you disappear into the crowd.
He had the urge to call out your name. He almost did. But he bit it back, lowering his head, heart cracking silently in his chest.
*******************
The air backstage crackled with adrenaline—stylists rushing, cords tangling, outfits getting last-minute steamed.
You were helping your supervisor adjust Felix’s jacket, smoothing the sleeves, checking the fit one last time. Your hands worked automatically, your mind floating somewhere far away.
Across the crowded room, Minho kept staring at you longingly. For a second—just a second—he thought maybe you’d let him. Maybe you’d glance at him. But when you shifted away, without even looking at him, it felt like a punch to the gut. Like watching a door slowly, painfully close in his face.
He sat down numbly at the makeup table, the bustling room fading into the background and all he could think was:
"I don’t blame you... but please, just once—look back at me."
Meanwhile, Hyunjin, sitting a few chairs away, was locked in the makeup artist’s grip, a brush sweeping across his cheekbones. But he still tried. He still tried to catch your eyes, frantic and desperate, needing you to see him. You lifted your head, sensing the weight of his stare and all you could offer him was a small, polite smile. Nothing more.
You could tell Hyunjin wanted to call out to you, to jump out of his chair, to explain everything he hadn’t been able to. But the makeup artist was sternly holding his chin still, murmuring warnings about smudging his foundation. He couldn’t move.
And so he watched you quietly, heartbreak pooling in his chest, as you finished adjusting Felix’s jacket...and turned away without another glance.
*******************
1 Hour Before the Concert
You had just grabbed a coffee from the catering area backstage, trying to escape the buzz of frantic preparations. The area was buzzing with energy, crew members darting from one spot to another, but you found a small moment of calm amidst it all. The food table was lined with snacks, coffee, and drinks, where you’d managed to find a brief respite. You were leaning against the counter, sipping your drink slowly, when the door to the room burst open with a loud bang.
Hyunjin stormed inside, his eyes wild and intense, looking like he had been running through the entire venue. His hair was slightly tousled, chest heaving with quick breaths as if he was on a mission.
Before you could even react, he reached for your wrist, gripping it firmly and pulling you out of the room.
“Come with me,” he commanded, urgency lacing his voice.
"Hyunjin—!" you gasped, stumbling after him. "What the hell are you doing?!"
"You’re done hiding!" he snapped, not even slowing down.
He pulled you into an empty band room backstage, and shoved the door shut behind you, trapping you inside. You barely caught your balance, turning to glare at him—but the look on Hyunjin’s face made your heart falter.
He looked furious. And desperate.
"You need to stop running, Y/N," he said, voice sharp, shaking slightly with emotion. "You think you’re protecting yourself? You’re just hurting both of you."
You crossed your arms, biting the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from crying. "It’s not that simple, Hyunjin—"
"YES, it is!" he cut you off, voice cracking, "You’re mad. You’re hurt. I get it. But Minho hyung—"
His voice broke again and he punched the wall lightly with the side of his fist, breathing hard.
"He’s dying," Hyunjin said, lower now, almost broken. "He’s breaking in front of us. He can't sleep. He can't eat. Every time he sees you, it's like someone rips another piece out of him."
You squeezed your eyes shut, fighting the tears threatening to spill.
"You think you’re the only one hurting?" Hyunjin asked, stepping closer, so close you could feel the sadness vibrating off him. "He’s been tearing himself apart for days, trying to find a way to fix this, and you won’t even LOOK at him."
You shook your head helplessly, voice cracking, "He’s the one who—"
"He knows," Hyunjin cut you off desperately, "He knows he fucked up. He hates himself for it. You think it’s easy for him to stand there and watch you pretend like he doesn’t exist?"
You stared at him, heart pounding, breath shaking.
Hyunjin whispered, “He loves you, Y/N.”
“No, he doesn’t.” you shot back. “He saw Mingyu and got territorial. That’s not the same thing as love.”
Hyunjin’s voice softened a little, but the intensity stayed, "Listen to me. Minho hyung…he’s dying inside. He’s been trying to talk to you for days. He's not playing games. He’s not saying those things because he's jealous of Mingyu or whatever else you think."
You bit your lip, hard. "Then why, Hyunjin? Why now? After everything?"
"Because he’s an idiot who thought he didn’t deserve you," Hyunjin said, voice raw. "He pushed you away because he was scared he’d ruin you. Because he thought you’d be better off without him."
Your heart stuttered painfully.
"And seeing you laugh with Mingyu made him realize exactly what he was about to lose," Hyunjin continued. "Not because of jealousy. Because he saw you happy and he wasn’t the one making you happy anymore."
The lump in your throat grew unbearable.
"He really loves you, Y/N," Hyunjin said simply. "He’s loved you this whole time. He just didn’t know how to believe he was worthy of it."
Your vision blurred.
Then, Hyunjin went on to explain everything — how Minho had been in love with you all along, how he had been miserable every time you avoided him backstage, how he stayed up at night overthinking every glance you refused to give him. How he regretted what he said at that freaking party every single day, hated himself for it, how the weight of it had been crushing him more and more every time you turned away.
Hearing it laid out like that shattered something inside you. It wasn’t just regret in Minho’s lingering stares. It was love — raw, desperate, aching love. And it had always been there, even when you were too hurt to see it.
You felt suffocated.
"Don’t do this," Hyunjin whispered, almost pleading now, "don’t walk away without hearing him out. If you ever loved him…even a little, give him the chance to explain."
You felt your walls crumbling under the weight of it all. Without another word, you tore past Hyunjin, sprinting down the hall.
You didn’t stop. You couldn’t stop. Not until you found him. You tore down the hall, nearly tripping over your own feet, chest heaving, heart racing so hard it hurt.
You didn’t know where you were going—you just knew you had to find him.
*******************
The greenroom was quiet—eerily so. Everyone else was getting hair and makeup in other room, doing last checks, hyping each other up. Minho sat there alone, away from everyone, for a moment.
Meanwhile, you kept running— the backstage corridors blurred as you rushed past, heart hammering, breath coming in short gasps. Somewhere, you could hear the muffled sounds of last-minute chaos—stylists calling for touch-ups, managers barking out directions, the low hum of excitement—but it all felt far away, like you were underwater.
Finally, after checking room after room, your footsteps faltered in front of a greenroom tucked away from the rest. The door was slightly ajar, and you prayed he was inside. You pushed it open with trembling fingers, and your breath caught painfully in your throat.
There he was. Minho.
Sitting alone on the bench, fully dressed in his final concert outfit, the dark, sleek fabric molding perfectly to his figure. His mic was already clipped to his collar, earpieces in place, as if he were ready to go onstage any second. But he wasn’t moving.
He was hunched forward, elbows resting heavily on his knees, staring blankly at the floor like the world had already ended and he was the only one left to mourn it.
The second he heard the door creak wider, his head snapped up.
He whispered your name, "Y/N..."
So soft. So broken. Like he didn’t believe you were real. It shattered you.
Before you even knew what you were doing, you rushed across the room, and before he could even speak, your hands were cupping his jaw and your lips crashed into his.
Minho stiffened for half a second, completely shocked and then his arms were around you, pulling you flush against him, kissing you back with everything he had. Your fingers tangled in his hair, your lips trembling against his with everything you hadn’t said, hadn’t dared to feel until now.
When you finally pulled back, panting, you pressed your forehead to his and whispered, “I hate you.”
He laughed, hoarse and teary-eyed. “I know.”
“I hate how long it took you.”
“I hate me too.”
“But I love you.”
Minho stilled.
And then his arms wrapped around you tighter than they ever had. “I love you more,” he murmured. “And I swear I’ll prove it every day from now on.”
You smiled, your eyes full of tears and joy and relief. “You better.”
Minho’s voice was rough, barely a whisper as he spoke. “I’m sorry... I’m so sorry, Y/N.”
You blinked, your chest tightening with all the emotions that had built up. "I know, Minho. Just... show me. Show me you're not going to run away again."
His hand gently cupped your face again, his thumb brushing over your lips softly. “I won’t run. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
Slowly, he leaned in again, this time more carefully, his lips brushing against yours with a softer, more deliberate motion, like he was savoring the moment, as if this was the first time.
The door slammed open.
"AHHHHHH! MY EYES!" Jisung screamed, dramatically throwing himself against the door frame like he was shielding himself from radiation.
You jolted apart, both of you wide-eyed and breathless.
Felix appeared behind Jisung, peeking into the room with wide, curious eyes.
"Hyung," Felix said, "We need to be on stage in like twenty five minutes." Then he glanced between you two and grinned brightly. "Also, um, HOW did this happen?"
Jisung gasped, "Like LIKE… you were literally at war yesterday! HOW are you kissing now? I need DETAILS!"
"Was it a secret make-up plan?? Did someone blackmail someone? TELL ME EVERYTHING—"
"Channie hyung’s gonna kill us if we’re late!" Felix laughed, tugging on Jisung’s sleeve, but he was also bouncing on his toes, eager for gossip.
"And Y/N, you have to explain later, okay? Like every single detail. Every single one."
Somewhere down the hall, you heard Chan’s voice yelling, "WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE?"
Minho groaned under his breath, leaning down to quickly kiss your forehead—just one soft second—and then he grabbed his mic pack and jogged toward the door.
But as he passed you, he whispered under his breath, only for you to hear, "Don’t go anywhere. I’m not letting you slip away again."
You stood there, heart pounding, lips still tingling, while Jisung whined the whole way down the hallway, “Yah! I’m serious! I'm coming for answers after the show!”
And you just laughed, happier than you had been in days.
*******************
The final performance was just moments away. Ten minutes give or take. You stood backstage, heart racing—not from nerves, but from everything that had happened.
Minho adjusted his mic, glancing at you with a silent question in his eyes. You stepped closer, pulling him aside for a moment, fingers gently brushing against his as you whispered, “Earlier, when Mingyu and I were talking… he wasn’t flirting.”
Minho blinked, caught off guard.
“He said he could see something going on between you and me. That he’d back off. And… that maybe I hadn’t noticed it myself yet.”
Minho let out a breathy laugh, hand raking through his hair. “God. I really need to control my damn jealousy.”
You smiled softly, Minho flushed slightly before saying, “He wasn’t wrong, though. About the heart eyes.”
You blushed then gently nudged his arm. “Come on, make peace with him. You two are too handsome to be fighting in the middle of rehearsals.”
Minho rolled his eyes but smiled, nodding. He walked over to Mingyu, who was talking with Joshua by the corner while adjusting his blazer, and you watched from afar as Minho gave a sincere apology. Mingyu accepted it with a grin and a clap on Minho’s shoulder, flashing you a wink behind him. Everything just… settled.
And then, the concert. The adrenaline. The stage lights. The roars of the crowd.
Both the collaboration stages and the groups' individual performances were breathtaking— hours of relentless energy, passion, and magic spilling out onto that stage. The entire venue was electric, a sea of waving lightsticks and screaming fans, every second more exhilarating than the last.
You danced and moved like nothing else mattered. But every time your eyes found Minho’s on stage, there was a knowing smile—one only meant for you.
After the final bow, the cheers still ringing in your ears, you were barely backstage for a minute when Minho grabbed your wrist gently and whispered, “Come with me.”
"Minho," you giggled breathlessly, "where are we even going?!"
"Somewhere no one will find us," he muttered determinedly, glancing around until he spotted a half-open door.
Without warning, he pulled you inside.
“I’ve been waiting all night,” he said, breathless.
And then he kissed you.
It wasn’t shy. It wasn’t careful.
It was urgent, desperate, his hands cupping your face as if he’d been starving for your lips. Your back hit the wall lightly as you gasped against his mouth, hands sliding under his jacket and gripping his shirt.
His lips moved feverishly over yours, like he was trying to pour every emotion he’d buried into this moment. When he finally pulled back just enough to breathe, he whispered against your lips, “You have no idea how crazy I’ve been going… not being able to do this.”
You let out a breathless laugh, tugging him back in. “Then don’t stop.”
He didn’t.
That kiss was everything—the apology, the promise, the confession, and the beginning. All in one.
*******************
The concert had ended, the cheers still echoing faintly in the corridors as everyone bustled around, packing up, high-fiving, celebrating.
Mingyu leaned against the wall near the dressing room door, sipping water and scrolling through his phone when a voice interrupted him.
"You were amazing up there," she said, her tone warm and teasing.
He looked up to see one of the stage crew members—someone he’d briefly chatted with before—smiling at him, her hands tucked behind her back, eyes bright.
Mingyu blinked, a little surprised. “Oh thank you. You too, the transitions were super smooth today.”
She giggled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “I did my best. But I was watching you the whole time.”
Mingyu raised a brow, a lopsided smile tugging at his lips. “Oh yeah?”
She stepped a little closer, playfully nudging his arm. “You always smile so much when you perform. It’s contagious.”
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Guess that’s a good thing.”
She tilted her head. “You doing anything after this?”
For a second, Mingyu glanced toward the dressing room, where laughter echoed—where his bandmates were chattering.
Then he looked back at her, his smile softening. “Not yet,” he said. “But I could be.”
Her grin widened.
And just like that, maybe Mingyu’s heart started to heal too.

Minho’s lips trailed kisses along your jaw, his hands framing your face as if he still couldn’t believe this was real. Your arms were wrapped around his neck, breath mingling as you leaned into him, every inch of space between you practically non-existent.
The air was hot, your heart pounding louder than any concert speaker. His forehead rested against yours, breathless as he whispered, “I’m not letting go of you again. Ever.”
You smiled, pulling him back into another kiss — slower this time, but no less intense. The kind that made your knees weak and your brain fuzzy, the kind that left no question about how badly he wanted you — and how badly you wanted him.
Your hands tangled in his hair, his arms locked tightly around your waist, pressing you against the wall.
It was messy and breathless, both of you still slightly shaking from the adrenaline of the concert.
"Missed you," he murmured against your mouth between kisses, voice hoarse.
You were just about to mumble "me too" when a loud knock rattled the door.
Minho froze mid-kiss, groaning against your lips. You stifled a laugh.
“Hyung?” Han’s voice called, too amused for your liking. “Minho hyung, will this continue all night or should we leave snacks outside the door?”
You buried your face in Minho’s chest as he exhaled sharply through his nose.
“Minho hyung is seriously down bad,” Hyunjin chimed in, voice loud and dramatic.
“Excuse you,” Han called out, raising an eyebrow. “Your bestie Y/N is equally down bad.”
You playfully smacked Minho's chest, laughing into his shirt. “Did your wife just out me like that?”
Minho groaned, forehead dropping against your shoulder in defeat, "Kill me," he muttered. "Right now. Just kill me."
You both heard Han and Hyunjin start bickering again — something about who was more down bad between you and Minho — and you couldn't help but giggle quietly against Minho, your heart feeling so full you thought it might burst.
“YAH!” Minho finally shouted, voice filled with exasperated affection. “You want to die? Leave us alone!”
A pause.
Then shuffling footsteps and exaggerated gagging noises as they walked off. You and Minho looked at each other and were shaking with laughter, tangled in each other and unwilling to part.
You sighed happily, still held close. “We really are that bad, huh?”
Minho leaned in, brushing his nose against yours. “Maybe. But I’m not sorry.”
Minho tightened his arms around you, swaying you both lazily, “I love you, you know,” he murmured, so gently it melted into your skin.
A big smile broke across your face.
“I love you too, Minho,” you whispered back, like it was the easiest thing in the world — because with him finally, it was.

[you and jason have a kid together, making bruce a grandpa]
[ 8.5k word count ]
* ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚
february sneaks in with cold mornings and quiet afternoons. your apartment smells like cinnamon from the candle jason insisted on lighting last night, and the windows are fogged from the heat of the shower you just stepped out of.
you’re still in your robe, fingers curled around a mug of tea you haven’t sipped yet. your other hand rests over your stomach—not dramatically, not in a movie-scene way. just… gently. like your body already knows something your brain’s still trying to process.
you hadn’t been trying.
not really.
not yet.
but lately your body’s felt just a little off—tired in a different way. hungrier at odd hours. your favorite coffee suddenly smelled like motor oil. and this morning, after staring at the little box on the bathroom counter long enough to forget how to breathe… the second line appeared.
positive. — and now everything is still.
you hear the front door open, the familiar shuffle of boots, the soft creak of your floors as jason walks in from his morning run.
“babe?” he calls. “i brought you that muffin you like—blueberry. they only had one left, so i fought a grandma for it.”
you laugh quietly, setting the mug down and stepping into the hallway just as he kicks his shoes off.
he looks up at you and instantly pauses. something in your face must give it away—something soft and shining and a little breathless.
he tilts his head, concerned. “hey… everything okay?”
you nod slowly, taking a step closer. “i… yeah. i think everything’s about to be.”
he sets the bag down. “what dose that mean?”
you reach into your robe pocket and pull out the test, holding it in your palm like it’s made of glass. — jason stares… and stares.
and then blinks. “is that—?” his voice catches. “are you—?”
you nod.
his whole expression crumbles. the kind of shift that only happens when something hits too hard and too beautifully to be fully understood in the moment. his mouth opens, like he wants to say something clever or brave or perfect—
but what comes out is small. raw. “you’re pregnant?”
you smile, a little teary now. “we’re gonna have a baby.”
jason stumbles forward and wraps his arms around you so tightly it nearly knocks the air from your lungs. one hand cradles the back of your head, the other trembling slightly as it presses to your lower stomach.
“holy shit,” he breathes into your hair. “we’re having a baby.”
he pulls back just enough to look at you, eyes wide and wet, brushing his thumbs over your cheeks like he’s scared you’ll fade.
“are you okay? like—really okay? you feel alright?” he asks quickly, too quickly. “is anything hurting? should we call someone?”
“i’m fine,” you promise, laughing a little through your tears. “i’m okay, jase. really.”
he nods, but you can see the way his thoughts are spiraling—half joy, half panic, all love.
“you’re gonna grow a whole baby,” he whispers, voice full of awe. “you’re… incredible.”
you cup his face with both hands. “we are.”
he leans into your touch like it’s the only thing keeping him grounded. “you’re sure you’re not scared?”
“i am,” you admit. “but it’s the good kind. the kind that means this is real.”
he presses his forehead to yours, breathing deeply. “i’m gonna take care of you. both of you. whatever you need—i’ll do it.”
“i know.”
“i’m not gonna be perfect,” he says quietly. “but i swear, i’m gonna love this baby more than anything in the world. and i’m gonna love you even more for giving them to me.”
your heart swells so full it aches. “we’re really doing this,” he whispers.
you nod, blinking away tears. “yeah. we are.”
and then he kisses you, soft and slow, like he’s memorizing the beginning of a brand-new chapter. his hands cradle your sides like he’s holding something sacred.
because he is. — because now, there’s three heartbeats in this little apartment. and jason’s daydream? it just started coming true.
“we need to make a doctor’s appointment,” jason said his head over filling with questions, incredibly nervous to mess up.
“i’ll make one for next week.” smiling down at his hands, holding you steady in place.
and you did, you made an appointment later on for next week. they got you in fairly quickly. the waiting room is too bright.
soft jazz plays from a corner speaker like it’s trying too hard to be soothing. the walls are covered in pastel posters and diagrams of smiling cartoon babies that don’t make any sense unless you’re already half asleep.
you’re sitting in a stiff plastic chair with jason next to you, his hand laced through yours. he’s been silent for the last five minutes—too focused, too still. but it’s not nerves. it’s something else. a quiet intensity, like the kind he gets before patrol, when every thought is narrowed to one single moment.
except this time, that moment is here— and it’s you.
you nudge his leg with your knee. “you good?”
he turns to look at you and softens instantly. “better than good. just trying to stay calm.”
you smile. “you’re squeezing my hand like you’re about to disarm a bomb.”
he loosens his grip but doesn’t let go. “sorry. can’t help it. you’re… you’re in there growing an actual person. i still haven’t wrapped my head around that.”
before you can reply, a nurse pokes her head through the door and calls your name. “ (y/n)—“ jason stands with you, helping you out of the chair like you’re made of glass, his hand on your lower back the entire walk down the hall.
the exam room is colder than expected, and the paper on the bed crinkles under you as you lie back.
the nurse is kind. she asks a series of routine questions—when was your last period, are you taking prenatal vitamins, any morning sickness? jason answers half of them for you, the kind of eager that would normally make you laugh if it weren’t so endearing.
when the gel is squeezed onto your belly, his hand finds yours again. he strokes your hair back behind your ear without even thinking about it. he keeps watching your face instead of the monitor like he’s searching for any sign that you’re okay.
and then— a soft fluttering sound fills the room. your heartbeat stills.
the nurse turns the screen toward you both and points. “there’s baby,” she says gently. “and that—” she increases the volume slightly, “is the heartbeat.”
jason stiffens like someone just knocked the air from his lungs.
his grip on your hand tightens. and then he’s crying. quietly, but undeniably.
his free hand covers his mouth, shoulders shaking with the kind of silent, overwhelmed happiness that only comes once in a lifetime. his eyes stay fixed on the tiny flickering image on the monitor—unbelieving, awestruck.
“that’s our kid,” he whispers, like it’s a secret, a prayer, a dream coming to life in front of him.
you can barely see through your own tears, but all you can do is nod and squeeze his hand back.
he turns to you, eyes red, face glowing in a way you’ve never seen before. “you’re amazing,” he says. “you’re so amazing. you’re doing this. you’re making life. i’m just—i don’t know how i got this lucky, im so so proud of you sweetheart.”
you laugh through a sob, and he leans down to press a kiss to your forehead, then one to your damp cheeks.
“you okay?” he asks, brushing your hair back again.
“i am now,” you whisper.
jason just stares at you a little longer, like he’s committing this moment to memory. because he is.
because this feeling? this overwhelming, impossible joy?
he never wants it to end. and in his arms, with you beside him and the sound of your baby’s heartbeat echoing in the air— he knows he’s never been happier.
“so who’s gonna be the one to tell your fami— nose goes!” you shout quickly bringing your finger to your nose laughing with tears still in the corner of your eyes carelessly dangling.
“nos—damnit!” jason sighed “i hate that game.”
the sun is still high when you and jason pull up to wayne manor.
the engine cuts off with a low purr, but neither of you move right away. your hands stay folded in your lap, heart thudding in your chest. jason glances at you from the driver’s seat—eyes soft, mouth twitching with a mix of nerves and excitement.
“you ready?” he asks, voice quiet.
you turn to him and nod. “are you?
he huffs a laugh, fingers reaching across the console to gently take yours. “nope. absolutely not.”
but he squeezes your hand anyway, and the look on his face says everything. he’s ready in the way that counts. terrified, maybe—but glowing with it.
the front door opens before either of you knock. dick waves from the threshold, wearing a smile and an apron dusted with flour. “you guys are late. dinner’s almost ready.”
“we were, uh, taking our time,” jason says, helping you out of the car like you’re suddenly fragile china, even though you’re not even showing yet.
dick raises an eyebrow. “is that code for something?”
“we’ll explain inside,” you say, smiling softly as you head up the steps.
inside the manor — the smell of garlic bread and roasted vegetables wafts through the massive foyer. you can hear tim and damian bickering in the distance, steph’s laugh cutting through the noise. alfred passes through the hallway with a wine glass in one hand and a towel draped over his shoulder, nodding to you both with a kind smile.
“you’re just in time,” he says. “i’ve made enough for ten. though, knowing master grayson, that may only cover seconds.”
“appreciate you, alfred,” jason says, patting his shoulder.
you walk through the manor side by side, surrounded by the easy chaos of family. and the longer it takes to get to the dining room, the more the nerves grow. it isn’t fear, exactly. just… weight. the kind that comes with sharing something real. permanent. world-changing.
jason’s thumb brushes yours. “we’ll do it after dinner. once everyone’s in one place.”
you nod again, your stomach fluttering for reasons that have nothing to do with morning sickness.
at the dinner table — by the time the entire family is seated—bruce at the head, alfred near the kitchen doors, and the rest of the siblings scattered down both sides—it’s noisy, messy, and full of laughter.
dick tells a story about stephanie beating him in a sparring match, and she doesn’t even try to deny it. damian rolls his eyes but can’t hide the smirk creeping across his face. tim’s already halfway through his second helping, duke close behind. cass and barbara are on either side of him, teasing them between bites.
you’re tucked beside jason, his arm brushing yours every so often. and the moment feels golden.
but jason hasn’t stopped glancing your way, and you haven’t stopped feeling the secret burn beneath your ribs.
“we should tell them,” you whisper to him between bites of garlic bread. “before dessert.”
“yeah,” he whispers back, eyes flicking toward bruce. “before someone starts guessing.” — as if on cue, bruce glances your way, then jason’s, with that subtle, unreadable batman stare.
“you two are unusually quiet,” he says mildly.
“just thinking,” jason replies smoothly. “about how to say something important.”
the table quiets just a little—not fully, but enough for the tension to thicken.
you press your hand lightly against jason’s knee beneath the table.
he clears his throat. “so. uh. we’ve got news.” — cass is the first to go still, eyes narrowing slightly in curiosity.
tim glances up from his plate. “what kind of news?”
you look around at the people who have become family in more ways than one—people who have fought beside each other, bled together, laughed together.
and now, you were about to hand them something fragile. something that meant everything.
“we’re having a baby,” you say softly, voice shaking just enough.
silence. full, pin-drop silence. then—
“NO WAY,” dick shouts, practically launching out of his chair.
“holy crap,” steph yells right after, hands flying to her mouth. “are you serious?”
barb’s eyes go wide. “you’re pregnant?”
jason grins like he can’t hold it back anymore. “yeah. we are.”
chaos breaks loose. tim drops his fork onto his plate and just stares at you both, jaw slack. damian blinks once, then twice, trying to process it. barbara claps her hands together in pure excitement. and dick? dick practically vaults over the table to hug jason, nearly knocking over a pitcher of water in the process.
“DUDE,” he says, squeezing him tight. “you’re gonna be a dad?!”
jason laughs, hugging him back. “apparently.”
“i’m gonna be an uncle!” he yells, turning to you with wide eyes. “you’re gonna be a mom?!”
you laugh, covering your face with your hands as he pulls you into the hug next. “yes! i am!”
steph runs around the table to tackle you both next. “your glowing!” — cass gently nudges steph aside to wrap her arms around you from behind, resting her chin on your shoulder.
tim finally finds his voice. “wow. just—wow. congratulations. seriously.”
and damian—stoic, sharp damian—leans back in his chair and stares at you both for a long, unreadable moment. then, with a quiet nod: “i suppose this means the next generation of vigilantes is on the way.”
everyone groans. “not even born yet and you’re already recruiting them?” tim mutters.
“shut up, drake,” damian replies, though there’s no real heat in it.
at the head of the table, bruce hasn’t spoken yet. but when you look at him, his eyes are wet.
not enough to spill. just enough to shine.
“you’re really going to be parents,” he says, voice low.
“yeah,” jason says again, a little quieter now. “we are.”
bruce nods slowly. “i’m happy for you. for both of you.”
then—so softly it nearly gets lost in the noise— “i hope i’ll be a good grandfather.”
the table falls quiet again. jason’s breath catches.
and in a rare moment, one almost no one would believe unless they saw it with their own eyes—
jason rounds the table, hugs bruce, and holds on for a full five seconds.
just five. but it’s enough. it says everything.
after dinner but before the dessert is cut, you and jason slip away from the dining room. not for long—after the laughter and the hugs and the congratulations, the manor slowly starts to breathe again. jason squeezes your hand and leans close to your ear, his voice quiet beneath the hum of voices around the dining room.
“come with me?” he murmurs. “want to talk to alfred, just us.”
you nod, heart full. he doesn’t flinch when you enter. doesn’t turn around with surprise. he just speaks in that warm, knowing voice: “i wondered when the two of you would find me.”
you smile gently and walk up beside him, standing close enough for the soft scent of bergamot to curl around you. jason steps behind you and rests his hand on the small of your back.
“we didn’t want to tell you in front of everyone else,” you say softly. “you deserved something quieter.”
alfred finishes pouring the hot water, then finally turns to face you both. his eyes are kind, his hands still, waiting. “we’re having a baby,” jason says. simple. honest.
and that’s all it takes. — alfred’s face shifts in that slow, subtle way only he can manage. not dramatic. not surprised. just… reverent. like the words have landed somewhere deep in his chest and are still echoing there.
“i thought as much,” he murmurs, voice velvet and pride. “but to hear it confirmed… what a gift.” he reaches for your hand first, holding it between both of his, fingers gentle and steady.
“you will be a remarkable mother,” he says. “i can already see it in the way you carry yourself. with warmth. with care.”
your throat tightens. then he looks to jason, and the silence between them stretches—not heavy, just full. thick with unspoken history and all the moments that led to this one. “and you,” alfred says quietly. “i have never been more proud of you than i am right now.”
jason blinks. his jaw tightens, like he’s trying to hold something back. “you mean that?”
“with every fiber of my being.” alfred moves forward and rests a hand against jason’s cheek—something he hasn’t done since jason was much younger. “you will be a kind, strong, devoted father. the sort of man you once feared you could never be.”
jason’s eyes shine, and he nods once. “i’m scared,” he admits.
“good,” alfred replies with a small smile. “that means you care deeply.”
he pulls them both into a hug. tight, long, grounding. — you think maybe it’s the best moment of the night.
but you haven’t seen what’s coming in the living room yet.
the couch cushions are sunken with the weight of so many bodies. duke has claimed the arm of the chair like it’s a throne. steph and tim are tangled up in a blanket on the floor. barbara perches near the fire, her eyes full of light. cass sits quietly on a cushion with a faint smile on her face, watching the room with quiet happiness.
you’re curled up next to jason on the couch, your knees tucked under you, his arm loose around your shoulders.
and that’s when you hear the soft thud of paws. — titus enters the room slowly, sniffing once, then twice, before making a direct line to you. his tail wags just slightly.
“hey, baby,” you say softly, reaching down to scratch behind his ears.
he steps closer, then gently rests his heavy head right on your stomach. jason freezes beside you, watching like he’s afraid to breathe. you smile, petting titus gently, your fingers threading through his fur. “he knows.”
titus lets out a deep sigh, then pushes himself a little higher—climbing halfway onto the couch before resting one massive paw across your thigh and his head against both you and jason.
“hey—” damian’s voice cuts in, sharp. “titus. get down.” titus ignores him entirely, clearly thrilled with himself.
“he’s being protective,” barbara says with a laugh. “he loves them.”
“he loves me,” damian says, visibly scowling. “he was trained to respond to my commands—”
“he’s got priorities now,” duke says with a grin. “he’s got a baby to watch over.”
“he’ll still love you, d,” steph teases. “you’re still the firstborn in his heart.”
damian doesn’t dignify that with a response, but the tips of his ears are pink. you laugh gently as titus shifts again, now practically in your lap, his chest pressed to your belly and nose nudging under jason’s arm. “he’s not going anywhere,” you murmur, hand still stroking his fur.
“good,” jason says softly, kissing your temple. “i want the baby to know him.” there’s a pause as the fire crackles softly.
then— “wait,” tim says, suddenly sitting up straighter. “does anyone remember the bet?”
steph gasps. “the baby bet from the barbecue!”
duke whistles low. “oh, yeah. we all threw in guesses for when they’d announce.”
barbara points a finger in the air. “i said christmas.”
“i said summer,” duke adds.
“thanksgiving,” tim mutters.
steph holds up her hand like she’s in court. “i said mother’s day!”
all heads turn toward bruce, who sits quietly in the corner armchair with a glass of something dark in his hand. he doesn’t smirk. doesn’t gloat. just lifts his brow like he already knows what’s coming. “new year’s,” dick says, groaning. “he said new year’s is when you’d announce, so technically he’s the closest”
“so… bruce wins?” steph says, groaning.
bruce sips his drink. doesn’t say a word. “ugh,” tim groans, flopping backward onto the rug. “of course the batman wins the baby bet.”
“he wins everything,” duke says, pointing at him.
“wait you guys made a bet on when we’d get pregnant?” you say, sitting up for a second grinning at the family while jason fake gasped, not entirely surprised by the family’s decision, more surprised someone didn’t offer him to help them out on the bet to get you pregnant sooner.
“well.. duh. did you see the way jason had that baby craving at the barbecue? we all knew someday soon it was gonna happen.” tim poked a joke and some half humming in agreement, others laughing.
“baby craving and barbecue don’t sound right together, i just can’t believe bruce won though! ” you laughed laying back down on jason,
jason grins, eyes flicking toward you. “he’s probably been planning his grandpa debut since the barbecue.”
“i can neither confirm nor deny,” bruce says, finally letting the corners of his mouth tilt up.
then barbara leans forward, eyes shining. “so… when are you due?” you glance at jason, who’s already smiling. “october thirty-first,” you say softly.
there’s a beat of silence. then— “halloween?!” dick laughs. “you’re having a baby bat on halloween?!”
“that’s the most gotham thing i’ve ever heard,” tim says.
“no capes for the baby,” steph says. “not until they’re at least walking.”
“i’m designing the first onesie,” barb adds. “it’ll have a tiny utility belt on it.”
damian glares at the room. “you’re all ridiculous.”
you sigh against jason, heart full, his hand resting over your stomach again—right where titus still snoozes contentedly. laughter and warmth fill the air like golden smoke. and for a moment, the world outside doesn’t matter.
just this. your family. your baby bat. and all the love waiting to meet them. the days pass like a soft breeze—gentle, slow, golden.
you blink and it’s august.
you stretch and it’s september.
you exhale and suddenly october is whispering around the corners of your apartment.
the light is different now. golden and low. afternoons spill through the windows like honey, and the air tastes like cinnamon and cool breeze. leaves have started to fall outside, painting the sidewalks in deep reds and soft golds.
your belly has grown, round and lovely, full of life. your skin glows with it. your body moves differently, gently, carefully, but your laughter still comes easily when jason is near. he doesn’t let you carry anything anymore. not a grocery bag, not a folded blanket, not even a mug of tea.
“you’re carrying a baby,” he says, brushing your hair back one night as he tucks a pillow behind your back on the couch. “let me carry everything else.”
he’s serious about it. borderline obsessive, even. but you let him fuss. mostly because it makes him happy. and maybe a little because you like seeing the way his eyes go all soft and focused when he’s looking at you. — especially now.
jason wakes up early—earlier than he needs to on a weekend—but he moves quietly, careful not to wake you. the second he hears you stir, he’s back at your side, pressing a kiss to your temple. “breakfast?” he asks, rubbing your shoulder gently.
you nod, still sleepy, and that’s when he leaves to meet alfred at the manor.
you found out from bruce that jason started asking for cooking lessons. just a few things here and there. mostly your favorite comfort foods. especially the ones that still don’t trigger nausea. “gotta keep her happy,” jason told alfred, scratching the back of his neck. “baby too.”
they make a list. soups. light pasta dishes. herby potatoes. the exact way you like your toast. how to time it so you don’t smell it cooking too much, just in case the scent turns your stomach.
he writes it all down. bruce catches him once, leaning over the stove with a furrowed brow, stirring something with absolute focus. “you’re taking this very seriously,” bruce had said.
jason just shrugged, a towel slung over his shoulder. “it’s for her. and the baby.” and then quietly, under his breath: “i don’t want to mess this up.”
your family comes into town for the weekend, the baby shower just a few days away. your little niece—is bigger now, walking stronger, speaking more words. and the second she sees jason again, her face lights up like a sunbeam. “jayjay!” she squeals, arms flung wide as she waddles toward him.
jason is toast. he crouches instantly, catching her mid-run and lifting her high into the air, spinning her gently with a laugh.
“there she is,” he grins, kissing her cheek. “my favorite partner in crime.”
she babbles something incomprehensible, then grabs his face in her little hands and squishes his cheeks. he lets her. he just laughs, holding her like she’s the best gift in the world.
you watch them from the doorway with your hand on your belly, your heart aching in the best way. you and jason don’t want anything over the top. so it’s simple. a mix of both families. your parents help set up in the backyard of the manor. your aunt brings homemade pies and little favors. cass helps hang streamers. steph handles the playlist. dick handles the jokes.
your niece follows jason around like a little duckling. she insists he sit next to her during cake. insists he play with her in the leaves scattered across the yard. she even tries to share her juice box with him, which he pretends to sip from with a grin. “you’re gonna be such a good dad,” you hear barbara whisper to him when she catches them sitting on the lawn together, the toddler’s tiny hand in his.
he doesn’t say anything at first. but his smile grows—quiet, proud, a little overwhelmed. “i really hope so,” he murmurs. “i really want to be.”
the manor gets quieter, cozier. sunday dinners become a routine again—alfred always insists you sit with your feet up, and bruce somehow always ends up next to you, asking quiet questions about how you’re feeling.
cass sits close, brushing a protective hand over your shoulder now and then. damian keeps sliding books about parenting across the table to jason like he’s passing secret files. and every week, someone brings something for the baby—booties, blankets, soft clothes in soft colors. — you swear even titus has started lying a little closer to you than normal.
you and jason spend your nights curled up on the couch, watching old movies, his hand always on your belly. sometimes feeling for movement. sometimes just needing to touch you, to remind himself that this is real.
that this dream is alive and growing. “how’s our little bat today?” he whispers, kissing your bump one evening.
you smile, carding your fingers through his hair. “kicking me all day. strong little thing.”
he smiles. then kisses again. then rests his cheek there, eyes fluttering shut. “can’t wait to meet them,” he murmurs.
“me too,” you whisper back. — you’re almost there.
that’s what everyone keeps saying.
“you’re so close.”
“any day now.”
“you’ve got that glow.”
you smile when they say it. or at least, you try to.
but god—if they only knew.
if they knew how your feet throb just from standing. how you haven’t slept more than two hours straight in weeks. how tying your shoes is officially impossible without assistance.
you’re not glowing—you’re sweating. you’re swollen. you’re exhausted.
and worst of all…
you’re hungry. all the time.
but everything makes you nauseous again.
your favorite meals? suddenly your stomach’s worst enemy.
things you craved just last month? now send you running for the bathroom.
you cry about it once at two in the morning, sitting on the kitchen floor in one of jason’s hoodies, staring at a piece of toast like it’s betrayed you.
he finds you there, bare feet cold on the tile, eyes wet and tired. he doesn’t ask what happened. he just sits next to you, pulls your legs over his lap, and wraps his arms around your middle.
“i’m sorry,” you whisper, wiping your face. “i know i’m being dramatic.”
“you’re growing a human,” he murmurs, kissing your shoulder. “you can be as dramatic as you want.”
you don’t even realize you’re shaking until his hand starts rubbing slow circles into your back. your forehead leans against his neck and you just… breathe.
jason.
he’s the only thing making this bearable, the only thing not making you nauseous or upset. only makes him you cry because of how understanding he’s become.
years ago a different version of jason would be incredibly impatient, and tried all the time. but growing with you for so long and filling in all the gaps of his personality has made him a better person for you, and your baby. gratitude on both sides of the story.
your body hated everything but him
he helps you out of bed in the mornings, kneeling at your side before you even ask. your ankles ache. your back hurts. there’s pressure—so much pressure—deep in your hips, and some days your belly feels too heavy to even carry. “you’re doing so good,” he says, easing your weight into his arms.
“i feel like a elephant,” you mumble.
“a very cute elephant,” he grins. you swat at him halfheartedly.
he helps you into the shower. sits on the closed toilet lid while you rinse off, just in case you feel dizzy. he wraps you in the biggest towel you own, kisses the crown of your head, tells you how strong you are. tells you how beautiful you are. tells you he’s proud of you.
you cry again one night when you try to roll over in bed and can’t.
you’re stuck.
actually stuck.
you groan in frustration, tears prickling at your lashes from how uncomfortable you are. your legs feel like lead, your belly feels like it weighs a thousand pounds, and your pillows are all wrong. “babe?” jason mumbles, half-asleep.
“i can’t move,” you whisper, feeling defeated.
his eyes snap open. “okay—hang on, i got you.”
he’s gentle. careful. strong in the ways you need him to be. his arms slide under your back and legs, easing you with such softness that it makes your chest ache. once you’re shifted, he cups your face.
“better?”
“a little,” you breathe.
he grabs an extra pillow, fits it behind you just right, and kisses your temple. “you need anything else?”
you shake your head. and your voice cracks when you say, “just stay close.” his hand finds yours beneath the blanket, fingers intertwining. — “always.”
you hit thirty-nine weeks on a thursday
the doctor says everything looks good. baby’s strong. heartbeat steady. but you? you’re ready. so ready.
“how are you feeling?” your OB asks kindly.
“like my ribs are being karate-chopped from the inside,” you deadpan. she laughs, and jason does too—but his hand never leaves your back. his thumb strokes your spine. his other hand is braced on your thigh like he’s anchoring you to the earth.
you feel so worn thin. so… done. but when you look at him—messy hair, tired eyes, t-shirt wrinkled from worry—you feel a little less overwhelmed. after the appointment, you don’t feel like going home. you sit in the car in the clinic parking lot, both of you quiet.
then jason reaches across the console and gently places your hand on your belly. “you know what i think?”
“hmm?”
“i think they’re gonna be kind. like you.” his voice is soft. so, so soft. “i think they’re gonna have your eyes.” — he kisses your palm. “and i think i’m the luckiest bastard in the world.”
you turn your head, lean into his shoulder, and for the first time in days—maybe weeks—you don’t feel so tired. just full.
full of love. full of something so big and gentle it makes you forget about the pain for a little while.
the final week creeps by
jason starts working from home more, just in case. he puts together the bassinet with dick. tim installs the car seat. duke helps you organize baby clothes. cass leaves post-it notes with hearts and smiley faces in every drawer. damian makes sure titus is trained to stay gentle and close.
and bruce? bruce quietly offers to be on-call for anything.
“day or night,” he tells you both. “whatever you need. just say the word, there’s enough room for you to stay at the mansion too.. don’t be afraid to ask.” silently hoping you’d take him on the offer.
alfred checks in with food daily. he starts prepping snacks you can stomach again—things he knows won’t trigger nausea. small containers left in your fridge. teas that soothe your heartburn.
“you’re almost there,” he says kindly, helping you into a chair one night at dinner. “and you’ve done wonderfully.” you glance at jason—already sitting beside you, already moving to rub your aching back—and you smile softly.
“we’ve done it,” you whisper.
it’s quiet. too quiet, almost. but not in a bad way.
the whole world feels like it’s holding its breath. like time has slowed just for the two of you. outside the windows, the sky is painted in gentle blues and sleepy grays. the wind rustles the early fall leaves, and there’s a softness in the air that only comes in the stillness of the night.
jason’s hand is warm in yours as you walk down the hallway helping you after dinner, just the two of you. no family tonight, no phones buzzing, no background noise. it’s just him. you. the soft rhythm of your hearts.
you stop in front of the nursery. — the door is open just a crack. golden light spills out from the small lamp inside. the room smells like fresh cotton and baby soap. faint hints of wood polish and lavender from the drawer sachets alfred insisted on tucking into the dresser.
you take a slow breath. and then you step inside together.
the nursery feels like a dream it’s not overly fancy. not too perfect. but it’s yours.
there’s a soft, plush rug under your toes. calming colors on the wall. a bookshelf already half full with bedtime stories and soft-spined fairytales. a rocking chair in the corner that dick and barbara had fixed up themselves. and right there in the center of the room—the crib. the crib jason built with bruce, over a weekend in early september, hands calloused but careful, sanding the edges to perfection.
you both stand in the doorway for a long moment. not saying anything. just looking. “we did good,” you finally whisper.
jason lets out a breathy laugh. “we did great.”
you turn to look at him—his face lit gently by the warm lamp light, his expression soft and full of something so open and vulnerable it makes your heart squeeze. “come here,” you say gently.
he follows without hesitation, wrapping an arm around your waist, his hand settling right where your belly curves. your baby kicks once—just a soft flutter—but it makes both of you smile.
“they like your voice,” you whisper, resting your head on his shoulder.
“they like you,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to your temple. “they’ve got good taste.” — you stand there a while, just holding each other
then jason leans down, hands on your belly, voice barely above a whisper. “hey, little bat,” he says. “we’re ready for you. whenever you’re ready to come meet us.”
you feel your throat tighten. your chest swell. there’s so much love in this room it feels impossible to hold all at once. and when jason stands again, you reach for him. cup his face between your hands. trace your thumbs over his cheekbones. and he just—melts under your touch.
your voice is quiet but steady. “jason peter todd, i love you.”
his eyes soften instantly. “i love you too.”
you shake your head a little, laughing through the tears starting to prick your lashes. “no—i mean i really love you. like… i didn’t even know a love like this existed until you. you’ve been everything i’ve ever needed without me even knowing i needed it.”
you take a shaky breath, thumb brushing under his eye. “you take care of me like it’s second nature. you protect me without ever making me feel small. you make me laugh even when i feel like crying. and you’ve made this—this whole thing—feel like the most beautiful adventure, even when it’s been hard.”
his jaw tightens. eyes glassy. “you’ve made me feel safe in my body when it’s been the most uncomfortable it’s ever been,” you continue, voice thick with emotion. “and not just that—you’ve made me feel beautiful. powerful. like i can do this. because you believe in me so deeply that sometimes i forget to be afraid.”
you pause. smile, small and teary. “you’ve always been my home, jason. and now… we’re about to build one. with our baby. and i couldn’t be more grateful that it’s with you.”
you don’t expect the tear that spills down his cheek—but when it does, you’re there. kissing it. holding him like he’s held you through every ache, every sleepless night, every emotional spiral. he pulls you into his arms, careful of your belly, careful of your everything, and just breathes you in.
“you’re my safe place, my homeland,” he whispers into your hair. “you’ve bewitched me, and im so honored to make you feel these ways” he leans in to deeply kiss you “i will love you permanently….endlessly…until we’re both dead in the dirt, and even then, i will find you in the next life…i will find my way home to you.”
the two of you stay there until the moon’s high
rocking slowly in the chair. your hand in his. the soft light of the nursery casting shadows that dance gently on the walls. the room is quiet. safe. sacred. you don’t know it yet, but you’ll go into labor in the morning.
but tonight? — tonight is soft. and warm. and full of everything that matters.
you and jason.
in the nursery.
wrapped in each other’s arms. waiting for your next adventure to begin.
you wake up to sunlight— it slips through the curtains in long, soft beams—painting gold across the floor, the blankets, jason’s cheek. you lie still for a moment, soaking it in.
the apartment is quiet. still. warm. and jason is right beside you, deep in sleep.
he’s on his back, one arm tucked behind his head, the other hand still curled loosely in yours. his chest rises and falls with a steady rhythm, and there’s a softness to his face you rarely get to see outside moments like this. no tension. no shadows. just peace.
it’s rare—so rare—that he sleeps this deeply. without jerking awake from a nightmare. without the haunted edge to his breath. without flinching from invisible memories. and it makes you feel warm inside. honored. protective.
he deserves mornings like this. he deserves every good thing. so you try not to wake him.
you shift slowly, carefully easing his hand from yours. your belly is heavy—so heavy—and the ache in your back reminds you you’re nearly at the finish line. the baby is still. calm. and for a moment, so are you.
you swing your legs over the edge of the bed with a quiet breath. your slippers are just a few steps away. you’ll just get up, stretch, maybe make some tea. let him sleep a little longer.
you press your hands to the mattress, count to three in your head, and push yourself up— and then you freeze. the first thing you feel is the pop—a subtle, strange sensation deep in your lower abdomen.
and then comes the warmth. sudden. unmistakable. soaking down your legs and onto the floor in seconds. your breath catches. you stare down, stunned. “noway…”
you whisper it under your breath like saying it softer might make it untrue. but it’s true. you know it is. your water just broke.
you freeze for a second—then panic sets in “oh my god—oh god—” you reach behind you blindly, grabbing the edge of the bed for support.
jason stirs at the sudden shift in movement. you try to stay quiet—try to breathe, to stay calm—but your hand’s already shaking when you reach out and whisper his name. “jay…?”
he hums, half-asleep. “mm?”
“jay—baby—i think it’s time…”
his eyes snap open. and the moment he sees your face—wide-eyed, tearful, panicked—he’s up in a heartbeat. “what—what’s wrong? what happened?”
you swallow thickly, gesturing to the growing wet spot on the rug. “my water broke.” — he stares. blinks. processes. then moves.
the switch in him is immediate. he helps you back onto the bed with practiced, gentle hands, brushing damp hair from your face. his voice stays calm—steady—but you can see the storm in his eyes. “okay. okay. we’re good. i’ve got you,” he says, already reaching for his phone. “i’m calling the doctor. don’t move. breathe.”
you nod. trying to. your heart is racing. your hands are clammy. it’s too early. it’s real. it’s happening.
you blink away the nerves, squeezing your eyes shut as a wave of sensation rolls through your belly. not quite pain. not yet. but pressure. the kind that makes you feel like everything is beginning to shift.
jason’s voice is low as he talks to the OB’s office, repeating things back with mechanical calm. “yes. yeah—contractions haven’t started yet. water broke just now. no blood, no pain yet. we’ll head in right away.”
he hangs up and turns to you, dropping to one knee at your side.bhis hands are on your thighs, grounding you. “we’re okay. you’re okay.”
you stare at him. wide-eyed. overwhelmed. “you were sleeping so soundly,” you whisper, guilt creeping in despite everything, a tear wanting to form.
“baby—i don’t give a shit about sleep right now.” he smiles through the nerves, voice thick with love. “you’re about to have our baby. of course you wake me up.”
your laugh is watery. tired. real. brushing his sleepy hair with your nails through his scalp. “you’re not scared?”
he looks at you for a long moment. and his eyes are gentle when he says— “i’m terrified. but i’ve never wanted anything more.”
everything becomes a blur after that. you change into the softest clothes you can manage. he lays towels on the car seat. grabs the hospital bag. calls alfred. calls bruce. tries to keep from pacing holes into the carpet when your first contraction hits in the hallway.
it’s mild. more pressure than pain. but it stops you in your tracks—and jason is right there, supporting you with both arms. “breathe,” he murmurs. “i’ve got you. just breathe.”
he keeps whispering to you the whole car ride. rubbing circles into your hand. kissing the back of it at red lights. promising you that everything is going to be okay. and somehow—you believe him.
by the time the hospital comes into view, the sky is a perfect watercolor soft pinks. sleepy oranges. the kind of morning light that makes everything look a little sacred.
you close your eyes against the sun filtering in through the windshield, resting your hand over your belly. jason glances over and sees it. he doesn’t say anything—just reaches for your hand and links your fingers together. he lifts them to his mouth, kissing your knuckles. then your wrist. then the ring on your finger. you meet his eyes. and he smiles, teary-eyed and full of everything he doesn’t know how to say.
“we’re gonna meet them soon,” he whispers. you nod.
“we’re gonna be parents.”
the hospital room is quiet. soft beeping. the sound of nurses moving gently behind the curtain. the monitor beside you blinking in slow, steady rhythm.
your hand rests over your stomach, and jason hasn’t let go of your other one since they settled you in. he sits in the chair pulled close to the bed, elbows on his knees, eyes locked on you like the rest of the world doesn’t exist.
but there’s a knock at the door. gentle. polite.
and when it opens, bruce steps in first, tall and still in his long dark coat, followed by alfred—warm-eyed and careful, holding a small thermos in his hands. “sorry,” bruce says softly, his voice lower than usual. “we didn’t want to intrude.”
you sit up a little, smiling tiredly. “you’re not, please, come in.”
jason straightens beside you, glancing over. there’s that flicker in his expression—still not used to this side of things. to being cared for by the people who used to only see him bleeding or bruised.
but they’re here now. and that means everything.
bruce steps closer, settling near the edge of the window. his eyes flicker from the monitor to your stomach, then to jason.
you expect him to look stoic. but instead, he looks… proud.
“i know your parents are on their way,” he says after a moment, voice quiet, “but if anything happens before then—i want you to know you’re not alone.”
you blink slowly, heart tight. “thank you,” you whisper. “they’re trying their best. flight leaves in a few hours but… they’re pretty upset they can’t be here for this part.”
“we’ll take care of you,” alfred says softly, stepping forward and setting the thermos down on the little side table. “your mother asked me to tell you she packed extra socks in your go-bag. and your father wanted me to remind you not to forget your phone charger.”
you smile at that, feeling your throat tighten. “they really did try to plan for everything,” you laugh, teary-eyed. “they’re so nervous.”
“as they should be,” alfred says gently. “it’s no small thing, after all. your world is about to change.”
you nod slowly, swallowing hard. bruce steps forward now, one hand resting on the rail of your hospital bed. “i’ll be right down the hall,” he says. “if you need anything. if jason needs anything. just press the button and i’ll be here.”
you glance at jason—and he’s just staring at bruce like he’s seeing him clearly for the first time. “thanks, bruce,” he murmurs.
bruce nods. then does something unexpected.
he reaches out and clasps jason’s shoulder. a firm grip. full of meaning. “you’re going to be a great father.” — jason swallows. hard.
his jaw flexes like he’s trying not to fall apart from just those words alone. bruce lets go. steps back. gives you both a final, warm look before slipping quietly out of the room to give you space.
alfred stays behind for a moment he sits carefully at the end of the bed, his hands folded in his lap, eyes soft.
“may i?” he asks. you nod. and he gently takes your free hand between his. his palms are warm and familiar, worn from years of care. “when jason was little,” he says slowly, “and he first came to live with us… he used to ask me to read him bedtime stories. not every night. not at first. but once he felt safe enough. once he knew i wouldn’t leave.”
jason shifts beside you, blinking hard. “his favorites were the ones with found families,” alfred continues. “ones where broken boys were loved anyway. where someone stayed. where someone always came back.” you feel your eyes sting.
“and now,” alfred smiles, eyes shining, “he gets to give that story to someone else.” you reach out with your other hand and squeeze jason’s knee. — he squeezes back, too overwhelmed to speak. “you’ll do beautifully,” alfred says, looking between you both. “i know it.” you nod, voice thick with tears.
“thank you for everything, alfred.” he leans forward and presses a gentle kiss to your forehead. the same one he’s given a hundred times to the boys who grew up under his care. “always,” he whispers.
then he stands and quietly excuses himself—leaving you and jason alone once more. — you sit in the silence for a while
your head tilted against the pillow. jason leaning closer, resting his forehead against the back of your hand.
“they love us,” you whisper.
“yeah,” he says, voice hoarse. “they really do, they love you so much… you brought us together again.. ”
and for a while, that’s all you need. your family is on their way.
the family you chose is right here.
and the one you’re building?
is just about ready to meet you.

Peace sealed with paws
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Max verstappen X fem!reader
Summary: You have a big fight, and he sees how much he hurt you and made you sad. But to make amends, he gives you a dog as a gift.
Warning: Mention of Reader, fluff.
Author's note: My first imagine with pilots 🥰
And sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my language.I hope this is what you asked for!
Tumblr media
Silence was the worst punishment of all. Max knew that. And that night, as he paced the living room of the apartment he shared with his girlfriend, the weight of her silence made his chest tighten more than any defeat on the track.
The argument had started for a small reason, like most big fights. A misinterpreted comment, an impatient look after a tiring day, and soon they were both on opposite sides of the same bed, like strangers. The problem was that he had crossed the line. He had said too many harsh words, with too much impatient a tone. And the worst part? He had seen in her eyes the exact moment when something inside her had broken.
She cried silently—she didn't scream, she didn't fight back. She just kept quiet, as if she had given up fighting. And that destroyed Max inside.
Two days passed. Two long days in which she avoided contact, answered in monosyllables, and left the room when he entered. Max tried to reach out. He tried to apologize. But the words sounded hollow compared to the damage he had caused.
So he decided to do it differently.
---
It was Saturday morning when she woke to a strange sound coming from the hallway. A high-pitched, clumsy bark, like a toy had come to life. Frowning, she got out of bed in sweatpants and a loose T-shirt, her hair still messy from sleep.
When he opened the bedroom door, he found Max sitting on the floor in the hallway, and on his lap, a little ball of white fur that could barely keep its paws on the floor.
“Hi,” he said, with a shy smile and his eyes fixed on her, as if waiting for a verdict.
She frowned in surprise, and her first reaction was to duck down too, letting the little puppy come towards her with uncoordinated steps and its tail wagging furiously.
“Max…?” she murmured, picking up the puppy. He licked her cheek as if he knew she needed to break the sadness there.
“I know it doesn’t erase what I said. I know I hurt you, and seeing you like that…” he swallowed. “It was the worst feeling I’ve ever had. You didn’t deserve that, not a single second of it.”
She looked at him. Her eyes were still streaked with the last tears, but now there was a different shine. A sign that she was listening to him. Really.
“I love you,” he continued. “And if you’ll let me, I want to prove it to you every day. This puppy… well, he doesn’t have a name yet. I thought you’d better pick one.”
She bit her lower lip, fighting back tears. “You bought a dog… to make amends?”
“Completely,” he said, unabashed. “Appealing to cuteness was my last resort.”
She gave a weak chuckle, and it was like a breath of fresh air for him.
“He’s beautiful,” she whispered, petting the pup. “But you still owe me at least twenty back rubs and a decent dinner.”
Max smiled, approaching carefully. “Deal. And a hundred more kisses a day. Just in case.”
She laughed finally and let him hug her. The puppy barked in the middle of the hug, squeezed between them.
“We have a new member, then,” she said, looking at the puppy.
“Yes,” Max replied. “And if it’s up to me, it’s the first of many good times. No more stupid fights, okay?”
She nodded, still nestled into his chest.
“So help me choose a name?”
“Sure,” she replied, looking at the little ball of fur that was now sleeping on the rug. “But I can tell you right now that if it’s a male, I’m going to name him Button. In honor of Jenson.”
Max faked a grimace. “Only if the next one is named Verstappen.”
“We’ll see,” she said, smiling. “It depends on how well you do.”
“On the track?” he asked.
She gave a mischievous smile. “In everything.”

ᯓ sweet spot — chapter three
pairing: paige bueckers & azzi fudd
notes: honestly, i fucking hate this chapter but i didn’t have it in me to redo it all. it’s all over the place and for that i apologize. i’ll try to make the next one better. but regardless, i really hope you all enjoy! and thank you guys so much for all the nice comments, they truly make my day. i’ve already started chapter four so it should be out tomorrow, monday at the latest. love you.
wc: 2.7k
Tumblr media
paige laid on her stomach, face half-buried in her pillow, phone in hand. the screenshot of azzi’s private profile stared back at her like it was daring her to do something.
she wasn’t doing anything, though. she had decided that.
until nika texted again.
n: i bet she’d accept it
p: i bet i’d implode
n: stop being so dramatic. it’s not that deep
paige groaned dramatically, flipping onto her back. she tapped her screen off, then on again. back to azzi’s account. still private. still untouched.
she wondered what kind of stuff azzi posted on there. stories? rants? screenshots of text convos with her boyfriend? paige tried her best not to flinch at that last one.
azzi had mentioned him so casually.
“my boyfriend.”
like it wasn’t a knife to her goddamn chest.
it naturally got brought up again the following day, when paige was shooting around early, headphones in, trying to look chill. emphasis on trying. she caught herself glancing toward the doors every five seconds like some romcom loser.
then she saw azzi walk in, hoodie on, hair pulled back, yawning like she hadn’t slept. paige’s heartbeat tripled.
azzi waved when she noticed her— just a small one. paige waved back. cool. normal.
totally not weird.
then nika appeared, completely ruining the illusion of calm.
“so,” she whispered, bumping shoulders with paige mid-dribble, “you follow her yet?”
“jesus, nika.”
“she posts the funniest shit. like crying selfies, bad song lyrics,” she laughed. “it’s like a whole different side of her.”
paige blinked once. “you followed her?”
“duh. we’re friends.”
paige hated how jealous that made her.
“she hasn’t posted about noah in a while, though,” nika added, almost too casually. “that’s all i’m saying.”
paige said nothing. just stared at the rim and tried not to read into that.
Tumblr media
the blonde laid in bed, lights off, hoodie on, thumb hovering over her screen again. she couldn’t stop thinking about azzi yawning that morning. or the way she’d smiled yesterday. or nika’s dumb snarky comment.
without giving it another thought, she hit the follow button.
instant regret.
she tossed her phone across the bed like it caught on fire. then crawled under her blanket and pulled it over her head.
her phone buzzed twenty seconds later.
follow accepted.
paige peeked out from the blanket.
her heartbeat might’ve actually stopped.
azzi had accepted her request.
paige unlocked her phone with trembling fingers and opened the profile.
the first post was a close-up of azzi’s face, clearly crying but also clearly laughing. the caption read: “i swear this was about a group project and not a man. probably.”
paige nearly dropped her phone all over again.
she scrolled, curiosity growing.
more chaos. rants. song lyrics. selfies of her and with some friends. a mirror pic with the caption: “am i cute or do i just have anxiety?”
and then, finally, a pretty sunset over some beach in california. captioned: “miss this sometimes.”
the post was from one week ago.
paige didn’t like anything. didn’t comment. didn’t breathe.
she just stared.
and she knew— knew— that she was so, so royally fucked. because azzi was so impossibly beautiful that there was no other way to be.
Tumblr media
paige scrolled back to the sunset post. the caption hit harder than she wanted to admit. she knew what that kind of homesickness felt like— how it crept in during the quiet moments, curling into her ribs like smoke.
she stared at the photo for a long time, thumb tapping the edge of her phone like a metronome. the caption was simple— miss this sometimes— but paige felt it in her chest.
the picture wasn’t even anything dramatic. just a hazy sunset over rooftops and a caption typed too fast. no filters, no nothing. just a soft sort of sadness, and something unspoken.
before she could talk herself out of it, she opened azzi’s dms. clicked her name.
typed. deleted. typed again.
p: just saw ur post about missing california. i get that. sometimes it hits out of nowhere, and then it’s all u can think about. if u ever wanna chill or smth, i’m here
she sent it. then quickly added:
p: just thought id say that
immediate regret flooded her. not because she didn’t mean it— god, she meant it— but because it felt personal, a little vulnerable.
she turned off her phone and tossed it to the foot of the bed like it burned her. a few minutes later, she turned it back on.
no response.
then suddenly— three dots.
a: that’s actually really nice to hear right now. it’s been a weird week. sometimes it feels like i’m walking around in someone else’s life. thank u for saying that
paige exhaled. her heartbeat sped.
p: no problem. really. i mean it
another pause.
a: honestly? i wouldn’t mind hanging out
p: i got u. wanna come over?
p: i’ve got snacks and a bunch of shitty netflix recs from nika that i’ve been putting off
a: deal. i’ll be over soon
around thirty minutes later, azzi— in sweatpants and an oversized hoodie—knocked on paige’s door like they’d done this a hundred times before.
paige flung it open, trying not to look like she’d been pacing for the past ten minutes.
“hey,” azzi said quietly. “thanks for inviting me over.”
paige smiled. “yeah, sure.”
they sat on the floor with a shared blanket between them and a bowl of popcorn that neither of them touched much. the movie played in the background, but neither of them watched it.
instead, they talked.
not about basketball. not about school. just… stuff. small stuff. azzi mentioned a diner she used to go to back home, how they served pancakes all day. paige talked about her favorite childhood memories from when she lived in minnesota.
at some point, azzi leaned her head against the wall, eyes half-lidded.
“i don’t miss california,” she said. “not really. it’s more like i miss who i was there. before everything got so complicated.”
paige didn’t answer right away. she just nodded in understanding, watching the soft flicker of light play across azzi’s face.
“yeah,” she said quietly. “i know what you mean.”
the popcorn went cold. the movie ended. but neither of them moved.
it wasn’t a date. it wasn’t anything like that.
but it mattered.
and paige knew she wasn’t going to forget it anytime soon.
Tumblr media
after that night, azzi started hanging out in paige’s room a lot.
it wasn’t like they planned it. it just sort of happened. a post-practice cooldown turned into ice cream. then it became watching film together. then music. then nothing at all. just existing. together.
paige definitely wasn’t complaining.
except… she was, internally. constantly. because being near azzi and not being able to kiss her was basically slow, romantic torture.
azzi would curl up on paige’s bed, hoodie sleeves pulled over her hands, brown curls framing her face in a way paige adored, legs tucked under her. paige would sit at her desk pretending to do homework while her entire brain short-circuited from the proximity.
tonight, azzi had her head on paige’s shoulder while they watched love & basketball on her laptop.
“this movie’s so dramatic,” azzi mumbled, half-asleep, “but i love it.”
“same,” paige whispered, very aware of how azzi’s cheek was resting against her collarbone. “you’re the q to my monica.”
azzi laughed gently. “that makes you the love interest.”
i’d like to be. paige didn’t say it. but the words pressed up against her throat. instead, she said, “you doing okay?”
azzi was quiet for a second.
then: “honestly, i don’t know.”
paige looked down. azzi was staring straight ahead, lashes long, voice soft.
“i talked to noah yesterday,” she said. “he got mad i couldn’t facetime right after class. it’s just… hard, lately. the distance. everything.”
paige felt something clench in her chest. she hated that he made azzi feel like this. that he could.
“you don’t deserve that,” she said, firm and direct.
azzi shrugged. “he’s just stressed. i get it.”
paige didn’t. but she kept that to herself.
there was a pause. then azzi nudged paige’s side gently.
“you’re so sweet, you know that?”
paige scoffed, blushing hard. “me? no. you’re literally… like, the kindest person i’ve ever met.”
azzi smiled, eyes soft. “that’s not true. you’re not like how everyone thinks you are.”
paige shook her head, was silent for a moment. “you have no idea what you do to me.”
azzi tilted her head. “what do i do to you?”
paige blinked. shit.
“uh— nothing,” she said too fast. “i mean— like— not nothing, but not—”
azzi was smiling now. “are you nervous?”
paige buried her face in her hands. “you cannot just ask that.”
azzi laughed and bumped her shoulder. “you’re adorable.”
she’s going to kill me, paige thought. this is how i die. at the hands of sweetness.
later that night, paige was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. she hadn’t stopped replaying every word since azzi left.
fuck it. she gave up trying to sleep and texted her.
p: u make it back to ur dorm okay?
azzi replied instantly.
a: yup. thank u again for letting me hang in ur room. i swear its cozier than mine
p: that’s bc its been blessed by ur presence
p: scientifically proven
a: lol ur too much
a: fr tho ur such a good friend. its been nice having u around lately
paige’s fingers hovered.
fucking friend. paige tried her best not to roll her eyes.
p: always here for u. friend or otherwise
azzi didn’t reply for a minute.
then—
a: goodnight paige
a: sleep well <3
paige turned off her phone and curled deeper into the covers.
she wasn’t going to sleep. not with that stupid little heart pounding in her head.
Tumblr media
it was a rare night off, and coach had ordered team dinner at this little family-owned italian place downtown. long tables, red-checkered tablecloths, warm lighting. the whole team packed in tight, plates of pasta being passed around, laughter echoing off the walls.
paige sat at the end of the table, half-listening to nika’s story about a tinder date gone rogue, when she felt it— azzi sliding into the empty chair beside her.
her breath caught. she hoped nobody noticed.
“you look nice,” azzi said quietly, nudging paige’s knee under the table.
paige blinked. “sorry— what?”
azzi grinned. “didn’t think the team dinner dress code included looking like a low-key goddess, but here we are.”
paige laughed a little too loud and immediately looked down at her outfit. she was in jeans and a black zip-up. casual. nothing special.
but azzi was looking at her like she was wearing dior.
“you’re one to talk,” paige mumbled, hoping the restaurant lighting masked how pink her ears had gone. “you could wear a trash bag and still look perfect.”
azzi’s grin widened as she sipped her lemonade. “so dramatic.”
“you started it.”
they smiled at each other for a beat too long.
that’s when kennedy— one of paige’s flings she’d forgotten all about until this moment— walked up out of nowhere, and immediately leaned in.
“so, paige,” she said, twirling her straw in the drink she was holding. “you dating anyone?”
azzi blinked.
paige flinched like she’d been slapped. “uh… no. not really.”
kennedy smirked. “crazy. someone like you? i just assumed.”
across the table, azzi was quiet. still smiling, but not quite the same.
paige tried to steer the conversation away, suddenly hyperaware of azzi’s leg brushing against hers under the table. she didn’t dare to move.
halfway through dinner, paige reached for the bread basket, and so did azzi. their fingers touched.
azzi didn’t pull away. neither did she.
“you’re warm,” she whispered.
paige looked at her, heart in her throat. “so are you.”
they froze like that for a second, hands still barely touching.
azzi opened her mouth to say something, but—
nika’s voice cut in from the other side of the table. “hey azzi, what’s your dog’s name again? the one in your story?”
azzi blinked, pulling her hand back. “oh— stewie. she’s tiny and thinks she owns my parent’s house.”
paige stared at the empty space between them like it had just betrayed her.
only a few hours later, however, paige— comfortably positioned on her bed— typed out a message.
p: u were gonna say something earlier. what was it?
she stared at the text.
deleted it.
she tried again.
p: i like when u sit next to me
fuck no. she’d never send that. not in a million years.
she deleted that too.
in the end, she sent nothing. just stared at the ceiling and thought about how good azzi looked tonight— pearl earrings, soft smile, words lingering behind her teeth.
almost.
Tumblr media
the gym was nearly empty.
most of the team had left after practice, but paige lingered, shooting free throws in silence. her earbuds were in, but no music played— just a shield, something to make it feel like the world was further away than it was.
she didn't hear the door open.
but she did feel the presence.
“didn’t think anyone else would still be here,” came a voice she knew like the back of her hand.
azzi.
paige turned, saw her in gray joggers and a uconn hoodie, hair pulled back, cheeks still flushed from practice. paige pulled out one earbud and tried to act casual, even though her heart was now sprinting.
“you caught me trying to live out my late-night kobe fantasy,” paige said, grinning.
azzi smiled, walking toward her. “mind if i join?”
paige tossed her the ball. “only if you promise not to show me up.”
azzi smirked and drained a three like she wasn’t casually pulling on the strings of paige’s heart.
they played for a while— just light shooting, taking turns. no talking. just the sound of bouncing rubber and squeaking sneakers. paige was too busy watching the way azzi moved, like everything she did was effortless. beautiful, even when sweaty.
at one point, azzi missed a shot and groaned. “ugh. that one was for pride.”
paige grabbed the rebound and passed it back. “guess your pride’s mine now.”
azzi raised an eyebrow. “is that how it works?”
“yeah,” paige said, stepping closer. “you lose a shot, you owe me something.”
azzi’s lips curled. “what do i owe you, then?”
paige paused. she hadn’t thought that far ahead.
“dinner,” she said before she could stop herself. “like, i dunno. team dinner. or— if you want— just us.”
azzi’s smile faltered, just a fraction. “paige…”
paige knew that tone. that soft, sad, hesitant tone. her stomach twisted.
“it doesn’t have to be a thing,” she said quickly. “i just like being around you.”
azzi dribbled once, staring down at the ball.
then: “i like being around you too.”
paige took a breath, let it out slowly.
azzi looked up again, something unreadable in her eyes. “noah called me earlier. said he might fly out next month.”
“oh,” paige said. her voice came out flat. she hated that it did.
azzi stepped forward. “i don’t know what i’m doing. with him. with any of it.”
paige didn’t move.
“you don’t have to figure it out right now,” she said, softer this time. “i’m not asking for anything.”
azzi nodded. “i know.”
a beat passed.
then, quietly: “but sometimes i wish i met you first.”
the world felt like it tilted on its axis. her heartbeat was definitely thudding at an abnormal, mildly concerning rate.
paige opened her mouth. closed it, unsure what to say.
azzi looked at her like she regretted saying it, but didn’t take it back. she simply said, “let’s get out of here, yeah?”
paige nodded.
she didn’t say it out loud, but in her head, she screamed:
fuck noah. i’m right here. i’m all you need. you’re all i need. i would never treat you like he does.
those words stayed put in paige’s brain, never leaving once. because god, did she mean them. every single word, every letter.

Hi can you do yeonbin throuple thoughts. I really need to be hot and bothered. I love your throuple thoughts so much btw. 😭😭😭😭
Tumblr media
throuple yeonbin thoughts
Tumblr media
yeonjun x fem!reader x soobin warnings: [NSFW] throuple, poly, no mxm, dom!yeonjun and soobin, no mentions of protection, oral (m!rec), mentions of spit and spanking, jealousy, prob forgot some sorry >< wc: 0.5k an: eeeeekkk thank you sm for reading anon <333 and wait im just now seeing that ive never written about yeonbin huh?? where have i been? anyways adding to the long multi memeber list i have on my page lmao who is surprised??? [m.list]
Tumblr media
There is a bit of jealousy laced in the relationship. So faint that most times you don't even notice it, since it's never anything serious. But you could find it in the occasional kiss, Soobin's gentle lips tracing down from your jaw to your neck, and there yeonjun would be watching.
Yeonjun loved seeing soobin have you, his eyes flicking to every touch, every taste, as if it was him with his hands in your hair, his cock in your mouth. But this was different, the occasional glint in his eyes rolling over the two of you like a bright red warning sign. You were theirs, but never to be one more than the other.
And you always gave away when yeonjun was feeling this way, your shoulders stiffening just enough to tell soobin he was caught. But it never deterred him in his kissing, his touching. Soobin got bold, no matter where you were, his hands found themselves sliding all over, pushing under your clothes, squeezing your hips, your chest, working to rediscover your body as if for the first time over nothing more than a jealous glance.
Nothing was ever said about the looks but it was felt in the way yeonjun fucked you. Pushing you to the bed face first, his hands pushing your hips into just the right angle as he pummels you into the mattress. “Look at him,” the demand coming from teeth hidden behind a sneer, your nails scratching at the sheets as you try to think about anything but the sensation of him hitting exactly at the right spot.
Soobin's jaw would be just off-set, following the line of hickeys he's left on your neck like a claim. He liked to think he wasn't affected by the way yeonjun took you at times like this. So different from the usual soft moments shared, no jealousy coating times when there was no space to not feel love. Your soft moans filling the apartment welcomed as one or the other took their time with you on the couch, in the shower, right against the kitchen counter.
But this was not that, your eyes rolling back as the lewd sounds echoed in the room like a siren call drawing him into the mix. Because he couldn't help himself, not when he couldn't stand the sight of your mouth being so empty, your eyes pleading with him, just like yeonjun said, “Look at him, show him how good I make you feel.” and yeonjun wouldnt stop soobin from taking your mouth, your back arched, taking them both down, whimpers now sending vibrations along soobins cock, shoved just far enoguh to make spit drip down your chin.
In the heat of it all the jealousy fades away, gone after you're worn out, soobin’s kisses right at the edge of your now puffy lips, yeonjuns hands rubbing apoligeticly over the heated skin along your ass from any stray spanking, his kisses over your bare back. “I'm sorry, baby, I don't know what got into me.” The light laugh pressed light along your spine.
“He's such a liar,” soobin chuckles, thumb brushing over your cheek, “he just hates to see how good my hands look on you.” Your giggles covering up the sound of yeonjuns denial.

idol pt. 2!! ✧.*
idol reader x pro hero bakugo
ੈ✩‧₊˚
part one link here.
summary: fluff !!! you and him bump into eachother on a late night snack run.
alr have an idea for pt. 3… lmk if i should continue
Tumblr media
after the ceremony, bakugou hadn’t really left your mind at all. it was safe to say you were a constant thought in his head too.
though you hadn’t seen or talked to him since, you kept looking forward to him maybe reaching out to you.
it had been about 2 weeks since, you didn’t blame his lack of communication. you were both busy. but you started becoming a little obsessed. watching videos of him saving people, interviews. anything you could find you watched.
it was now around midnight and you had grown hungry in your hotel bed. it was a unspoken forbidden rule to go out without a body guard so late at night. but after checking your pantry you couldn’t resist. grabbing layers and layers of all your dark clothes you pulled them onto your frame. finishing your look with the usual mask and baseball cap.
you didn’t mind getting recognized, but you knew if you saw someone that has bad intentions… you didn’t even want to imagine what could happen.
pushing your fears aside you walked out the hotel lobby and onto the cold pavement. the street lights were dim, but you kept your head down. maps said you had about a five minute walk to the closest 7/11. though it was so late there was still a lot of people out on the town.
after a good five minute walk you had made it to the glorious glowing lights filled with your favorite snacks. still keeping an of-putting demeanor, you entered the store. within seconds you had an armfull.
“hey babe. what’s with all the clothes hiding that pretty body?” a new voice startled you. blanking you looked up to see who was saying such a thing. you of course didn’t recognize him. but he looked… weird. like the people your mom told you to avoid when you were younger.
ignoring him you walked to the cashier, putting your stuff on the counter top.
he followed you, “hey don’t ignore me..” he laughed. closing in on you. you knew you had to get him off your back but you didn’t know how.
turning around about to let yourself have a moment of weakness. the sight you saw shocked you. a man dressed far to similar to you, had grabbed your stalker and had him held down.
“say that shit again and i swear to fucking god i’ll kill you here and now. be a real man and kick rocks” though he was covered in a costume, you could make out that voice anywhere.
it wasn’t long at all before the other man ran of the store scared for his life.
“i could’ve handled it…” you grumbled before adding, “but thank you..king dynamight murder.” laughing at the end of your sentence he looked at you startled.
blankly his eyes stared into yours. he was confused.
pulling your mask down you smiled and said “don’t worry. it’s y/n, but don’t tell anyone.” in a hushed voice.
more shocked then he was before he let out a sigh of relief and shook his head. “god..” was all he said before stepping infront of you. putting his food on the table and putting his card forward. “i’m paying for all of this.”
wow.. what a gentleman.
walking out of the store he carried all of your stuff together in his hands. breaking the ice you joked with him,
“i would’ve thought you would have asked me out by now.. with how interested you seemed that night.”
it was silent for a second.
“i didn’t know if idols dated…” he was hushed. calm.
“i would date you. i started to think hero’s don’t date.” you laughed before taking a step to the way of your hotel. he followed without question.
you walked one minute in silence. though you were scared of what he was going to say, you were also comfortable.
“y/n…” for being so loud he sure seemed quiet around you. “i would like to take you out sometime. you can’t say no.” firm he said to you. it was a promise.
“okay. seems like i can say no.” you joked and laughed. then tugging on his arm to grab some of your chips out of the bag.
you two walked to your hotel, every word that came out of your mouth was followed with a giggle. you felt giddy.
once you got to the entrance you leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“thank you for keeping me safe, bakugou.”
“katsuki.” he corrected you.
“have a good night, kats.” turning you walked to the doors of the building.
“6pm, tomorrow i’ll be here to pick you up. it’s a date.” he shouted out to you.
“okay!! i’ll be ready. goodnight!!” you hollered back at him, while entering the building.
god what was this feeling.

BACK TO US (KIND OF)
Loser!Matt X Popular!Reader
You and Noah had been talking for a few weeks now—friends or… whatever it was. You weren’t really sure what to call it. All you knew was that it felt easy. Safe. He didn’t make your stomach twist with confusion or your mind spiral in overthinking like Matt did.
Noah walked you to class every morning, even when he was running late. He waited outside your English room, leaned against the lockers with that soft smile and said things like, “Took you long enough, slowpoke.” And you’d roll your eyes and shove his shoulder, but you’d be smiling too. He listened when you talked. Not the fake kind of listening—he remembered the little things. Like how you hated pickles or how you loved rainy weather and how you always twisted your ring when you were anxious. He picked up on it all.
And he was consistent. When he was with his friends, he didn’t act different. He still waved you over, introduced you with a proud little grin, kept his arm slung lazily over your shoulder even when people looked. It was comforting—refreshing. Like for once, someone wasn’t embarrassed to be around you when it mattered.
Matt, on the other hand…
Matt went the exact opposite route.
Maybe it was the jealousy. Maybe it was him being stubborn or scared or just… Matt. But instead of talking to you like he wanted to fix things, he threw himself straight into the arms of the one person he knew you couldn’t stand—Madison.
It started subtle.
He posted a story of her at the skatepark, laughing.
Then a blurry mirror selfie where she was clearly behind him on his bed.
Then more obvious things—videos of her laughing at his dumb jokes, her voice in the background of his late-night FaceTime rants.
You pretended not to care.
You told yourself you didn’t care.
But it was hard to ignore the sting when Nick randomly said, “Yo, Matt and Madison have been hanging out a lot, huh?” like it was nothing.
Chris just looked at you with that knowing glance. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t have to.
You saw them together at lunch once. She had her legs draped over his lap and her fake laugh echoing through the courtyard. Matt didn’t even look at you. Not once.
And it hurt.
It hurt in that quiet, pathetic way.
Because you weren’t even his girlfriend, but it still felt like cheating.
And maybe that’s what made Noah feel even safer. Because he didn’t make you guess.
He didn’t make you feel like you had to compete.
He just liked you. And he wasn’t scared to show it.
It was late. The sky outside your window was that deep blue just before full darkness, and your phone buzzed quietly in your lap.
Matt:
can i come over?
You stared at the screen for a moment, teeth sinking into your bottom lip. Your chest tightened—not with excitement, not with anger… just that familiar ache he always managed to stir up.
You typed slow.
You:
why don’t you ask madison?
seems like you guys are close now.
It took him two minutes to reply, but it felt like hours.
Matt:
oh so that’s what we’re doing?
you’re with noah every day but i hang out with someone once and suddenly it’s war?
don’t act like we’re not even.
You blinked. The message sank in a little deeper than you expected. You thought about the way Noah made you feel, about the soft smiles and kind words… and then you thought about how you still left your window unlocked sometimes—just in case Matt showed up.
Your thumbs hovered over your keyboard.
You:
…you can come over.
Three dots popped up right away.
Matt:
be there in 10.
And even though you told yourself not to get caught in his mess again…
You found yourself fixing your hair in your reflection.
Just in case.
You heard the knock a few minutes later—three short raps on your window. Classic Matt.
You rolled your eyes, walking over and unlocking it. He climbed in like it was nothing, like this wasn’t the most confusing thing in the world. You didn’t even say anything, just turned and sat back on your bed.
He sat beside you a second later, quiet. His hoodie smelled like his cologne. His leg bounced slightly, fingers fidgeting with the ring on his hand.
You didn’t look at him.
“Thanks for letting me come over,” he mumbled, voice low.
You let out a soft scoff, arms crossing over your chest.
“Didn’t think you’d make time for me with Madison keeping you busy.”
He glanced at you—head tilted slightly.
“Seriously?” he said, tone already dropping.
“What?” you shot back, eyes flicking to his.
Matt’s jaw tensed. “You’ve been walking around with Noah like you’re already dating.”
“Okay and? At least he doesn’t act different when we’re in public. At least he doesn’t pretend I’m invisible the second someone else is around—”
Matt suddenly turned toward you, voice firmer now. “Alright, quit your fucking attitude.”
You blinked, caught off guard, mouth falling open a bit.
He leaned in closer, eyes sharp. “You don’t get to act like this is one-sided. You’ve been doing your own thing too, don’t forget that.”
You stayed quiet for a second, chest rising and falling faster.
Matt sighed, fingers dragging through his hair before he softened—just a little. “I didn’t come here to fight.”
You swallowed, the silence sitting heavy between you.
“I missed you,” he added quietly, voice losing its edge. “That’s all.”
He scooted closer, his hand reaching for yours gently, like he wasn’t sure you’d take it. You let him. And just like always, he leaned in, laying his head on your shoulder like it was the only place it ever belonged.
“You drive me crazy,” he mumbled into your skin. “But I swear… nobody makes me feel the way you do.”
You didn’t say anything right away—but your fingers curled around his just a little tighter.
You leaned into him without even thinking about it, the warmth of his body calming your nerves more than you wanted to admit. His hand settled over yours, thumb brushing over your knuckles as he let out a quiet breath.
“I don’t even like Madison,” he muttered.
You turned your head slightly, looking down at him. He was staring at the wall, almost embarrassed to admit it. “Seriously.”
You smiled a little. “I know.”
That pulled a small chuckle from him, one of those low, breathy ones he only let out when he was really comfortable. His eyes finally met yours, softer than they had been all night.
“I just… I didn’t know what else to do. Seeing you with Noah—he’s all smiley and perfect and shit—I just wanted to make you jealous, I guess.” He shook his head, like he was annoyed at himself. “It was stupid.”
You nudged him lightly with your shoulder. “It was very stupid.”
He cracked a smile. “Thanks.”
You let a moment of silence pass before speaking again. “Noah’s a good guy though. He’s sweet.”
Matt shifted beside you, his fingers pausing over yours. “I don’t like him.”
You rolled your eyes. “Yeah, I figured that part out.”
“No, I mean… I’ve got a bad feeling about him,” he said, more serious now. “Something about him just rubs me the wrong way. I don’t trust that dude.”
You gave him a look, a small amused smile tugging at your lips. “You don’t trust anyone.”
He looked back at you, eyes a little harder now. “I’m serious.”
“I know,” you said, quieter this time. “But he hasn’t done anything. He’s been good to me.”
Matt didn’t respond to that. He just looked at you for a while longer—like he wanted to say something else, but bit his tongue instead. His hand didn’t leave yours, though, and you didn’t let go either.
Matt was quiet for a while after that, fingers still tracing over yours. You could feel the way his thumb nervously tapped against your skin, like he was working something out in his head. He shifted a little, pulling you closer until his face was tucked into the crook of your neck—warm breath fanning across your skin. It made you shiver.
Then, muffled and low, he mumbled, “Can we start hanging out again?”
Your heart stopped for a second.
He hesitated, then added, “Like… friends again. I miss it.” His voice was softer now, almost shy. “I miss you.”
You felt his grip tighten a little as he buried his face further in your neck, clearly trying to hide how embarrassed he was. But it was the most vulnerable you’d seen him in a while. No attitude. No jokes. Just Matt.
You didn’t answer right away. You just let him stay there—soaking in the quiet, feeling how real the moment was. And after a second, you slowly nodded, the side of your face brushing against his hair.
His arms tightened around you like that was all he needed.

The night air curled around you in thin, biting tendrils, the wind sweeping through the Astronomy Tower and chilling your fingers where they gripped the stone ledge. The tower loomed above the castle, far removed from the warm flicker of torches and the comfortable murmur of the common rooms. Up here, the world felt suspended—like time had stopped and the stars were the only witnesses to your terrible, beautiful secret.
You were absolutely not supposed to be here.
"You’re shivering."
The voice, smooth and low, cut through the silence. You didn’t even need to look—you’d recognize that voice in your sleep. Mattheo Riddle stepped forward from the shadows with that familiar slouch, half-hooded eyes glinting with mischief and something gentler he’d never admit to. His black coat hung loosely from his shoulders, already halfway off as he reached out and draped it over yours.
The weight of it was immediate—warm, worn, and unmistakably his. It smelled like firewood, mint, and danger. A combination you had no business enjoying as much as you did.
"I'm not cold," you muttered, hugging the coat tighter around yourself despite the denial.
Mattheo arched a brow, unimpressed. "You're a terrible liar."
"No, I’m not."
"Yes, you are," he insisted, stepping closer, his grin growing with every step. "You always do that thing with your nose when you lie."
You blinked. “What thing?”
"That—" He pointed at you with a smirk as your nose instinctively scrunched. "Exactly that."
Your scowl deepened. “You’re infuriating.”
“I’ve been told.”
“And yet, here I am.”
He was fully in front of you now, close enough to steal your breath if you let him. His fingers grazed your waist like a question, an invitation. One you never could refuse.
"You could’ve stayed in bed like a reasonable person," he teased, voice dipped in velvet. "Instead, you came all the way up here just to see me."
"Don't flatter yourself," you muttered.
But he knew better.
And so did you.
Mattheo leaned in, his lips brushing yours, barely touching—just enough to set your nerves alight. "Say it."
"Say what?" you breathed, feigning innocence.
"That you missed me."
"I didn’t."
"Liar," he whispered against your mouth, and then he kissed you.
The world fell away.
His mouth on yours was rough and unrelenting, like he had waited too long and thought too much and wanted to erase the time you’d spent apart. You kissed him back with equal fervor, clutching his collar as if to tether yourself to the moment. The cold didn’t matter. The risk didn’t matter. All that mattered was the way his hands roamed your sides like he couldn’t decide where to hold you, like he wanted to touch everything at once.
He was infuriating and impulsive and impossible—but gods, he was yours.
Eventually, you pulled away, lips tingling and lungs begging for breath. He rested his forehead against yours, his grip on your waist still firm, possessive.
"This is reckless," you whispered, eyes half-lidded and drunk on him.
Mattheo didn’t even blink. "Reckless is snogging your best mate’s sibling in the Astronomy Tower at one in the morning while the entire school sleeps."
You groaned and thumped your head against his shoulder. "Don’t remind me."
"Just saying. We’ve already passed the point of no return, haven’t we?"
You didn't answer right away. Instead, you watched the stars—millions of them, quiet and distant and probably laughing at the mess you’d made of yourself. You should’ve stopped this weeks ago. You’d tried to stop. But Mattheo always had this way of pulling you back in, like gravity.
"This is insane," you murmured.
"Mm," he agreed. "And I love it."
You tilted your head to look at him. "You would."
Mattheo smiled, that crooked, charming sort of smile that spelled nothing but trouble. He reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear with a gentleness that contradicted everything he usually projected.
"I like you like this," he said suddenly.
"Like what?"
"Defiant. Warm. Close." His voice dropped. "Mine."
Your breath hitched.
You hated how easily he could unravel you.
“You know my brother would murder you,” you said, only half-joking.
Mattheo’s expression didn’t change. “Yeah, well. That’s why he doesn’t know.”
“And if he finds out?”
His eyes darkened—not in fear, but in resolve. "Then we deal with it. Together."
Something in your chest tightened painfully. Mattheo Riddle was not known for making promises, but when he did, they meant something.
You tried to play it off, to lighten the moment. "Very noble of you. Might even make you look brave."
"I'm always brave," he deadpanned.
You laughed despite yourself and leaned up to kiss him again—softer this time, slower. Like a lullaby in the middle of a war.
Another set of footsteps—distant but undeniable—snapped you both out of it. Mattheo jerked away instantly, eyes sharp, scanning the stairwell below.
Your stomach dropped as you ducked behind one of the stone columns, barely breathing.
Please not a professor. Please not a prefect. Please not—
Silence.
The footsteps faded.
Mattheo let out a slow exhale. "That was way too close."
You nodded, pressing a hand over your pounding heart. “We need to stop doing this in public places.”
"Then invite me to your dorm."
"Absolutely not."
"The library?"
"Too exposed."
"Empty classroom?"
"Too cliché."
"Room of Requirement?"
You paused. "...Too convenient."
He gave a low laugh. “You’re impossible.”
“And yet, here you are.”
Mattheo leaned forward and kissed your cheek, just above your jaw. “Tomorrow night?”
You hesitated. You should say no. You meant to say no.
“…Fine. But somewhere safer.”
"Deal."
He squeezed your hand once before retreating back down the stairs with the grace of someone who’d done this a dozen times and would do it a dozen more.
You stayed a moment longer, the weight of his coat still wrapped around your shoulders and the ghost of his lips still on your mouth. The stars blinked silently overhead, their light cool and unjudging. You exhaled and turned to go, already thinking about tomorrow—and all the chaos it might bring.
You were in too deep.
And you didn’t care.
Tumblr media
Rain was pouring against the windows like the sky itself was throwing a tantrum, Hogwarts cloaked in that damp, miserable grey that made everyone collectively more dramatic than usual. You trudged into the Great Hall, dragging your feet like a ghost of your former, snogged-out self. You spotted your friends instantly—because they were loud, nosy, and sitting in their usual spot, plotting world domination over croissants and coffee.
You slid into your seat next to Blaise with the elegance of a sleep-deprived troll and immediately reached for a slice of toast, praying today would be normal. No scandal. No drama. No accidental references to someone’s pine-scented hair or stupid smirking face or warm hands on your—
Mattheo Riddle plopped himself directly beside you.
Your toast froze mid-air.
“Oh, excellent,” he said, sounding obscenely cheerful for someone who hadn’t brushed his curls. “You got the good jam.”
He reached across your plate like a heathen and scooped up a glob of raspberry jam with his butter knife, smearing it messily on your toast like he was helping.
“I was going to eat that,” you deadpanned.
“And now you are, but with flavor,” he replied, looking far too pleased with himself.
Across the table, Lorenzo choked on his tea. Draco froze mid-butter-spread. Blaise leaned back slowly with a suspicious grin. Pansy squinted like she was trying to read the entire history of your existence from the look on your face. Astoria didn’t even look up—she just let out the most disappointed sigh in the history of human breathing.
You, a rational and responsible person, did the obvious thing.
You pretended absolutely nothing was happening.
Mattheo, who was clearly born to make everything worse, leaned in. “Are you going to eat that, or are you going to keep staring at me like you’re in love?”
You dropped your toast. Draco visibly gasped. Blaise bit his knuckle.
“Okay,” Lorenzo said slowly, dramatically. “I think we all need to pause and—what the hell is going on here?”
“Nothing,” you and Mattheo said in perfect harmony.
A collective suspicious silence fell over the group.
Pansy narrowed her eyes. “You’re sitting suspiciously close to each other.”
“Coincidence,” you said.
“He stole your toast.”
“Generous community breakfasting,” Mattheo supplied.
“You’re blushing,” Draco noted, pointing a butter knife at your face.
“It’s warm in here,” you snapped. “There’s body heat. Circulation. Weather.”
“You’re playing footsie,” Blaise added smugly.
“We are absolutely not playing footsie,” Mattheo said, jerking his leg away from yours so fast he kneed the underside of the table and nearly knocked over the entire jug of pumpkin juice.
“Okay,” Lorenzo muttered. “If this isn’t a secret relationship, then I am the ghost of Salazar Slytherin, here to reclaim his house from the deranged couple defiling it.”
You tried to glare. Really, you did. But Mattheo had crumbs on his lip, and his eyes were doing that annoyingly attractive sparkle thing, and your face betrayed you by melting.
“OH MY GOD,” Pansy screamed. “YOU’RE LITERALLY SO IN LOVE.”
“I am in denial,” you barked. “Which is very different.”
Blaise laughed so hard he nearly fell off the bench. “So, just to confirm—are you or are you not snogging this absolute chaos goblin in secret?”
“We’re not snogging,” Mattheo said quickly. “Why would we snog? Snogging is for people with… lips.”
“You have lips,” Draco said flatly.
“Debatable,” Mattheo replied, before turning to you with pleading eyes. “Help me.”
“Everyone is being very dramatic,” you announced. “Mattheo and I are friends. Acquaintances. Mortal enemies with occasional group project chemistry.”
“You left the Potions lab last Thursday with your tie undone and a hickey on your neck,” Astoria said without looking up.
“It was a mosquito! ” Mattheo cried. “They were everywhere.”
“In the Potions lab?” Blaise asked, blinking.
“...Yes,” you said weakly. “It was.. uhm.. infested.”
Pansy slammed her hands on the table. “HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON?”
“Five minutes,” you blurted. “No time at all. We’re still in the test trial phase.”
“Two months,” Mattheo mumbled at the same time.
You turned to him slowly, eyes wide. “What happened to denying everything?”
“I panicked!” he whispered. “You’re really bad at lying and it’s contagious!”
“Oh my god, it’s been TWO MONTHS?” Draco’s voice cracked like a choirboy’s. “And you didn’t tell us? We could’ve made popcorn!”
“I’m going to cry,” Pansy announced. “I feel betrayed. Emotionally compromised. Romantically offended.”
“You literally told me yesterday to snog someone or die lonely,” you muttered.
“I didn’t mean him! ”
Mattheo raised a hand. “Okay, now that’s just rude.”
“I SWEAR,” Pansy continued, “if Theodore finds out and kills you, I am not attending your funeral unless there’s drama and vengeance.”
You blinked. “Okay, but—what if he just doesn’t… find out?”
The table went still.
Pansy looked like she was about to burst into flames. “Okay. Someone get Theodore. He deserves to know that his sibling is dating—dating—Mattheo ‘bite me’ Riddle.”
You stiffened.
The entire table stilled.
Then, as if summoned by the devil himself, all heads turned in slow-motion toward the far end of the Slytherin table… where Theodore Nott sat, expression calm, buttering a scone with the serenity of a man who was either extremely zen or planning to murder someone using only a teaspoon.
You froze.
Mattheo froze.
Even Draco looked nervous.
“He doesn’t know,” you whispered.
“He definitely knows,” Astoria said calmly. “He’s buttering that scone with deadly precision. No one but assassins butter that neatly.”
Blaise leaned in, stage-whispering like a six-year-old gossip. “He’s holding the knife like he’s considering options.”
Pansy was practically vibrating. “I live for this. Theodore is going to explode. It’s going to be glorious. I want screaming. Threats. At least one table flip. I want to feel alive again!”
“Do not summon violence into this sacred breakfast,” you hissed.
Draco smirked. “Better tell Mattheo to run now while he still has all his limbs.”
Pansy stood up and immediately rolled up her sleeves. “I AM READY FOR THE DRAMA. BRING IT. DUEL AT DAWN. I’LL BE YOUR SECOND.”
Astoria grabbed her by the back of the cloak and yanked her down like she was restraining a feral cat. “Sit. Down. You’re not sword-fighting Theodore in the middle of breakfast.”
“Why not?” Pansy whined. “We live in a magical castle. This is the perfect place for sword-fighting!”
You and Mattheo exchanged a horrified glance.
“I think we just declared war,” he whispered.
You nodded. “Well. At least we’re dying pretty.”

If Mattheo Riddle had a Galleon for every time he thought, “this is how I die,” he could’ve funded a whole underground resistance, a few cursed artifacts, and still had enough left to buy you a shiny ring and a nice flat in Hogsmeade.
This time, though?
There would be no ring.
No flat.
No wedding.
Just his body launched into orbit by Theodore Nott’s inevitable, unstoppable rage.
You were standing in the corridor just outside the Great Hall, trying to decide whether to walk into your own execution or drag your boyfriend back to the dungeons by his ear.
Mattheo Riddle had been pacing like a man possessed for the past fifteen minutes.
“Okay, okay, okay—maybe I should bow?” he muttered to himself. “No. Too much. Theodore might think I’m mocking him. Should I curtsy? Would that be better? Classier?”
“Mattheo,” you said, voice deadpan, “if you curtsy to my brother, I will physically throw you out of a window.”
“I just—he’s going to murder me,” Mattheo wailed, throwing his hands in the air like some kind of tragic widow. “He’s going to skin me and use my corpse as a decorative throw for the Slytherin common room. I’ll be throw fashion, darling.”
You stared. “You’ve lost your mind.”
He spun dramatically and grabbed both your hands. “You don’t get it. That man terrifies me. He’s tall. He’s quiet. He wears all black. He looks like he reads tragic poetry for fun. He has ‘I’ll bury you behind the greenhouse’ energy.”
You tried not to laugh. “He’s just my brother.”
“No. He’s a whole experience. A terrifying one. Like one of those silent movies where the guy never speaks but everyone dies anyway.”
“Mattheo—”
“What if he pulls a wand on me and casts some obscure ancient curse from the Nott family grimoire and my skin turns inside out?”
“Then I’ll get you some exfoliating cream and a hug.”
Mattheo gave you an utterly wounded look. “That’s all the sympathy I get in my darkest hour?”
“Your darkest hour hasn’t even started.”
Footsteps echoed ominously down the hallway.
Mattheo froze, grabbing the wall like a man in mourning. “Oh Merlin. It’s him. It’s Theodore. I’m not ready. You said I had five more minutes!”
“You said that twenty minutes ago.”
“I wasn’t emotionally prepared then and I’m *less* emotionally prepared now!”
You didn't have time to argue. Theodore turned the corner, walking toward you with his usual unbothered, slow-as-hell stride, like he had all the time in the world to arrive at your crime scene.
Mattheo made a strangled noise like a dying bird and—without shame—threw himself behind you.
“Don’t let him hurt me!” he whisper-yelled into your shoulder. “If I die, tell your mother I looked amazing at my funeral.”
Theodore raised a single eyebrow. “Are you hiding behind my sibling?”
Mattheo popped his head out. “Not hiding—strategically retreating. It’s different.”
“Yes,” you muttered, “the strategy is cowardice.”
He clung to your robes like a damsel. “This is not cowardice. This is self-preservation, thank you very much.”
Theodore stared at him blankly. “You’re pathetic.”
Mattheo inhaled deeply and then stepped out with the air of a man marching to the gallows. “Okay. Okay. Theodore. I—I want to say something.”
Theodore tilted his head, mildly curious.
“I want to apologize for—uh—for all the... snogging. And emotional bonding. And, uh, the fact that I may or may not have licked and attacked your sibling’s neck in a highly inappropriate location on the Astronomy Tower—NOT THE POINT—what I’m trying to say is I’m sorry and please don’t hex my kneecaps or transfigure my ears into cauliflowers or whatever it is you Notts do when people betray your bloodline.”
Theodore blinked.
Mattheo cleared his throat. “I just—really, really like your sibling, alright? Like, a lot. Like, ‘I’d write you letters in blood if I wasn’t squeamish’ a lot. And I know I’m kind of a mess and also a little deranged but I swear on Salazar’s bald head that I’m serious about this and if you want to punch me, just go for the left side, that’s my less photogenic side anyway—”
“I already knew,” Theodore interrupted.
Mattheo stopped mid-rant, finger in the air like he had more dramatic declarations to unleash. “Wait. What?”
“I’ve known for weeks.”
There was a beat of complete, shell-shocked silence.
Mattheo’s hand slowly lowered. “You… what?”
“I saw you sneaking out of the Astronomy Tower the first time,” Theodore said casually. “The scarf was a dead giveaway. And the second time. And the third. And the time you came back to the dorms with glitter in your hair and that weird grin like you'd just invented a new sin.”
Mattheo blinked rapidly. “So you knew... this whole time?”
“Yes.”
“And you didn’t say anything?”
“No.”
“You didn’t curse me? Or duel me? Or send a howler to my mother?!”
Theodore shrugged. “I was enjoying watching you panic.”
You smacked your forehead.
Mattheo gasped and dramatically grabbed your sleeve. “He played me like a fiddle. A fiddle made of pure emotional torment.”
Theodore looked at you, dead serious. “If he breaks your heart, I’ll feed him to the Giant Squid.”
Mattheo nodded solemnly. “Honestly? That’s fair. Bit overkill, but poetic.”
“You two are insufferable,” you muttered.
Mattheo flopped against your back again, sighing dramatically. “You love me.”
“Unfortunately.”
He peeked at Theodore again. “So we’re good?”
Theodore gave him a long look. “Don’t push it.”
Mattheo immediately retreated behind you again. “He said don’t push it. I’m not pushing it. I’m hiding behind it.”
“You’re a grown man.”
“I’m a terrified man!”
Pansy, who had just turned the corner behind you with Draco and Astoria in tow, screeched like someone had been stabbed—an unholy, earsplitting shriek that ricocheted off the stone walls of the corridor like a cursed howler let loose during a funeral.
“HE FUCKING KNEW?!” she howled, her eyes wide with the sheer betrayal of it all, like Theodore had personally wronged her ancestral bloodline.
The entire hallway fell into a stunned silence for half a second before chaos exploded like a badly brewed potion. A nearby portrait of a sleepy wizard jolted awake and threw his goblet at the ground, muttering something about “witches these days.” You and Mattheo both flinched so violently you almost knocked heads—and Mattheo, being the brave soul that he was, dove behind you like a coward, clutching the back of your robes with the death grip of a man facing an angry hippogriff.
“HOLY SHIT, Pansy!” Lorenzo barked, careening in behind her like a gale-force wind in Gucci boots, nearly tripping over his own feet and the bag of crisps he had clearly brought specifically for this moment. “You trying to rupture the space-time continuum with your lungs? I think my left eardrum just committed suicide!”
“You—you KNEW?!” Blaise turned to Theodore with all the grace and fury of someone who just found out his favorite soap opera had been canceled mid-cliffhanger. “And you didn’t do anything?! Not even a single ominous shoulder squeeze? A disapproving nod? A slow, terrifying walk behind them in the corridors with your eyes narrowed like a cryptid in the fog?!”
“I was counting on some emotionally stunted vengeance,” Lorenzo chimed in, now holding his crisps like a judgmental gavel. “You let us down, Nott.”
“EXACTLY!” Pansy shrieked, spinning around with the energy of a banshee leading a revolution. “Where’s the drama?! Where’s the furious wand duel at midnight in the courtyard? WHERE'S THE TWO-PAGE SPEECH ABOUT BETRAYAL AND SIBLING HONOUR AND A TRAGIC LOVE DOOMED FROM THE START?!”
Draco looked like he was genuinely grieving. He placed one hand on his heart, the other dramatically outstretched as if speaking to the heavens. “This is worse than my father’s fourth engagement party. At least that had fireworks and an enchanted swan that exploded.”
Theodore, for his part, looked like he’d just woken up from a nap and couldn’t be arsed. Standing with his hands in his pockets and his expression set to “Could Not Care Less If I Tried,” he said, “I already told them. I’ve known for weeks.”
“WEEKS?!” Blaise yelped, clutching Lorenzo’s shoulder like he needed emotional support.
“And you didn’t even glare once?!” Draco gasped, eyes practically bulging out of his head. “You didn’t pull out your wand and threaten to CRUCIO his bloodline?!”
“I expected some level of ominous sibling rage,” Lorenzo muttered. “Instead I got... emotional neutrality. Honestly, it’s offensive.”
“I’m just—confused,” Blaise said, flinging his arms out. “Do you even care? You’re acting like Mattheo hasn’t spent the past month playing tonsil hockey with your sibling in every broom cupboard in the castle.”
“I expected fireworks,” Pansy seethed. “Screaming. Maybe a duel that would’ve made the school nurse cry. At least a threatened expulsion! And instead—” she gestured wildly at Theodore “—we got this! Calm! Rational! Emotionally intelligent?! I’m DISGUSTED.”
Astoria, who had been quietly standing by, now had both hands around Pansy’s waist, physically holding her back like she was restraining a chihuahua on steroids. “Pans, don’t lunge. You promised no tackling.”
“I DIDN’T PROMISE NOTHING,” Pansy roared.
Theodore blinked slowly, looking almost bored. “If Mattheo breaks their heart, I’ll throw him off the Astronomy Tower myself. Until then, I’ve got exams.”
Mattheo, still half-hiding behind you like a traumatized Victorian child, made a strangled sound. “He’s gonna what—?”
“I—I tried to apologize,” Mattheo spluttered, peeking out from behind your shoulder with the world’s most wounded expression. “I was halfway through my bloody sentence and he just cut me off! I had a whole speech! With metaphors!”
“You didn’t even get to the metaphor about comparing Theodore’s glare to a dementor with a caffeine addiction,” you whispered.
“RIGHT?” Mattheo pointed at you with a pout. “That was my best one!”
“You were sobbing into a chocolate frog outside the potions lab,” Blaise said, deadpan.
“Yeah, I remember that,” Lorenzo added with a snort. “You kept whispering, ‘he’s going to turn me into a ferret’.”
“You weren’t even dating me when you did that,” you muttered.
Mattheo groaned and dragged a hand down his face. “I was emotionally preparing! For war!”
“And there was no war!” Draco cried. “Just—just peace! Like we’re living in some healthy, emotionally mature AU!”
“This is worse than my cousin’s vow renewal,” Pansy snapped, now pacing in a circle. “At least that ended with a hexed priest and someone’s wig catching fire.”
Lorenzo clapped Blaise on the back. “Well, guess I lost the bet.”
“What bet?” you asked, dreading the answer.
“I had twenty galleons on Theodore turning Mattheo into a cactus and leaving him outside Hagrid’s hut.”
“Honestly, I would’ve preferred that,” Mattheo muttered.
“Same,” Draco said, disgusted.
“You’re all insane,” Theodore said.
“And you’re boring,” Blaise fired back. “Where’s the trauma?! Where’s the iconic sibling rage? You had the perfect opportunity to deliver a one-liner and threaten him with a slow, painful doom! Instead you let him live?!”
Pansy turned on Theodore with wide, devastated eyes. “You’re not mad at all? Like not even a little? There’s no secret plotting? No passive aggressive breakfast commentary?!”
Theodore just shrugged. “I like my sibling. I don’t hate Riddle. I’m not wasting spell energy unless he does something dumb.”
“I am something dumb!” Mattheo squeaked from behind you.
“WE KNOW!” Pansy and Draco yelled in unison.
Astoria buried her face in her hands. “I’m too sober for this.”
Draco sighed dramatically and crossed his arms. “Fine. New plan. Someone date someone they shouldn’t so we can salvage this absolute travesty.”
“I VOLUNTEER!” Lorenzo said immediately.
“NO YOU DON’T!” Blaise and Draco snapped.
You turned to Mattheo with a dazed smile as the rest of your friends devolved into chaos, arguing over who should pretend to get engaged for maximum scandal.
“Well,” you muttered. “That went well.”
Mattheo blinked at you, still clutching your robes. “I feel like I survived an execution by emotional chaos.”
You patted his cheek. “You did great, sweetheart.”
“I hate all of them,” he whispered.
From behind you, Pansy screamed, “SOMEONE THROW SOMETHING DRAMATIC OR I’M GOING TO COMBUST.”
A shoe flew past your head.
“Okay,” Mattheo muttered. “Maybe I don’t hate them. I just… fear them.”
You nodded. “Reasonable.”
And somewhere, Theodore was already walking away from the scene like a man who had never emotionally invested in anything except his morning tea and the hope that someone, someday, would shut Pansy up for more than two minutes.
