I wanted a slightly suggestive fluff with the twins if that's alright👁️👄👁️
A scenario in which they're finally done with Sylus's tasks for the day and get to spend some time with MC
CRYINGGG anon I low-key did deviate from the brief but I had this idea and I just ended up running with it. I hope you enjoy, regardless! I went into this ambivalent towards Luke and Kieran but something just possessed me honestly. Also dragged Sylus into it because there's no way in hell I wasn't subjecting him to this dynamic!! 😇 (I made MC here separate from canon MC for plot reasons, but if you want a fic with the twins and canon MC, just let me know!)
Onychinus' Finest

Your call connects almost instantly.
“What?” Sylus hisses from the other end, and you get the impression he’s disappointed.
“Oof,” you groan, smiling, “what’s the matter, boss? Waiting on a call from a certain Deepspace Hunter?”
There’s silence in your ear, but not far from you, Kieran snickers. Your smile broadens. “You have three seconds,” Sylus seethes, with the precarity of a pot that could boil over at any moment, “to tell me what I want to hear.”
Three seconds is a bit of a push. You’re sat on a desk and Kieran is tapping away at the computer beside you, the light of the screen catching the sharp features of his mask; he looks like something from a horror story. You nudge his knee with your foot. He glances at you.
Wrap it up, you signal with a twirl of your forefinger.
His mask tilts downwards, almost imperceptibly, and you know he’s glaring at you from behind it. He flashes his middle finger back and you chuckle, watching him return to his work. “Files should be on their way shortly,” you explain to Sylus, because you know when to stop pushing your luck. “Ever’s upped the security on these damn computers. The device that guy sold you didn’t do shit.”
It’s also now pieces of a device, shattered against the floor from when Kieran had thrown it down and stepped on it in frustration. You’re not gonna mention that.
Sylus sighs impatiently, but there’s a hint of regret. “I knew there was something off about that deal. Do you think he tipped them off?”
You glance around the room and it’s littered with bodies. Not dead! Just… unconscious. At least, most of them, you think. “Yeah…” you muse. It was a lot more security than there should have been in a high-rise office in the middle of the night. “You might be onto something there, boss.”
Another sigh from Sylus. You watch Luke as he finishes looting— wait, no— checking the last of the security guards for anything helpful. He’s found a phone and he’s staring down at it, head tilted, reminding you of Mephisto. You briefly wonder what came first: the crow masks or the crow-like behaviour. Maybe you’ll ask Sylus one day.
Luke lifts the phone, holding it at arm’s length, and you realise he’s taking a selfie. He pivots until you and Kieran are in the background, and you lean into the frame, making a peace sign with your free hand. The moment is captured. Luke tosses the phone over his shoulder and it hits the floor with a crack.
“Are you all alright?” Sylus checks, and you know his eyes are burning with frustration, even though you can’t see them. He wears a mask too— most of the time— it’s just a little more figurative than yours or the twins’. You’re an expert at reading past them by now.
“Yeah,” you say, “we signed up for this, remember? You’ve got the best of the best, right here.” You glance between Luke and Kieran. “Well, the best of the best and her sidekicks.”
“Hey!” Kieran interjects. “You wanna have a go on this computer?”
“No,” you lilt back sweetly. What’s he gonna do— make you? Sure enough, he goes back to tapping away, his head sagging slightly, and you can tell he’s pouting.
Luke has wandered closer to the pair of you. “How much longer?” he whines, throwing himself into a wheely chair, setting it on a slow collision course with Kieran’s. You stop it with your leg.
“Shut up,” Kieran snaps. “At least I’m doing something.”
“I can do something,” Luke retorts. He captures your ankle, pulling it away from the leg of his chair, and rests a hand on your shin.
“Something isn’t in the mood right now.” You lift your foot from his grasp, inching it up his lower abdomen, and he groans as you plant it against his chest. “So unprofessional,” you tut.
You’d stifled your phone against your chest, but you can hear a deep voice leaking out of it. “Say that again, boss?” you request, bringing it back to your ear.
“How long is this going to take?” Sylus repeats.
“Not long. You know what they say, though…” You meet the eyes of Luke’s mask. Your tone drops: “All good things to those who wait.”
Luke’s chair squeaks, rolling back as you push him away with a soft kick.
“Fine,” Sylus murmurs, “Mephisto is with me. Stay on the line, and send the files through when you can. I’ll check them before you leave. If they knew we were coming, there’s a chance that—”
“Yeah, yeah, I get the picture,” you interrupt. You get Kieran’s attention again, then gesture between the computer and the phone. The beak of his mask dips as he nods.
Luke has used your lapse of focus to draw himself close to you again. He takes your ankle once more and guides it to rest in his lap, one hand tight— holding you in place— and the other deftly undoing the buckles on your boot. After a few clinks, he pulls it from your foot, the leather dragging down over your skin and leaving it cold. He throws the boot at his twin’s leg.
Kieran huffs as it tumbles to the floor. He doesn’t look away from the computer, but you know he wants to. Now that’s professional.
Decidedly committed to another priority, Luke draws shapes on your lower leg, his finger grazing over your shin and ankle. He’s staring down, fixated, and maybe they aren’t shapes— maybe they’re letters. Every stroke of his finger is deliberate. You could ask what he’s writing, but you really don’t care so long as it’s more than a word or two.
If it is, he doesn’t have the patience for it. His fingers walk higher, stopping only as they reach your knee. The fabric of your dress is draped over your leg and he pushes it aside, letting it slink closer to the floor. He looks up at you, head angled like a question.
“Any progress?” Sylus asks.
You’re holding your phone between your ear and your shoulder, both hands splayed on the desk beside you so you can lean slightly back. “Getting there,” you say, lips curving. You’re not looking at the computer.
You could swear you hear Luke laugh, but it’s ever so faint. He rests his whole hand on you, warming your lower leg with broader strokes, and whatever he wrote has been erased. Your breath catches as his touch moves above your knee, and it’s a tiny sound; no-one would notice.
Kieran’s mask turns towards you. “Oh, come on,” he sighs. “No fair.”
It’s an intimate art: seeing behind a mask. You have to notice everything.
“So hurry up,” Luke answers, his voice heavier than the last time he spoke. His chest rises and falls with every breath, just a little slower, a little deeper.
Kieran rolls his eyes—you guess, from the listless way his attention goes back to the screen— and you detect a huff. “Not fair,” he says to himself. He repeats it as he punches keys with his fingers: “Not fair. Not fair.”
Luke shakes his head gently: a fond exasperation rather than anything serious. He rolls his chair closer until he’s framed by your legs, then lifts your ankle to rest on his shoulder. His fingers curl, the pads of them brushing over the top of your foot idly, but it tickles, so you try to pull away. He grasps your ankle again. “Nuh-uh, kitten,” he teases.
It’s one of your favourite in-jokes; you laugh. Sylus can still hear you, and you’re glad he doesn’t know it’s at his expense. “Something funny?” he asks. Maybe he does know.
“Yeah,” you say. He could string you upside-down with his Evol and you’d still never tell him what.
Luke is chuckling to himself, and the sound changes as he lifts his mask just enough to free the lower half of his face. It’s not the first time, but it sobers you instantly. He turns to press his lips to your ankle, leans in— kisses further up. Leans in again— his mouth moves higher.
“Why so wriggly?” he speaks into your knee. “Stop.”
“You stop,” you counter, reaching forward to grab one of the horns peeking out of his hood. You use it to pull him away. Make him look at you. “Your little book on conquest doesn’t work on me.”
His lips widen into a smirk.
“What book?” Sylus’s voice echoes.
You smirk as well. “Ask your pet hunter.”
You’re interrupted by a thud and your head spins. Kieran is standing up, slapping the top of the computer in frustration. “C’mon, work!” he urges. “So freakin’ slow.”
“Ah, ah, ah.” You shoo him away from the computer like you would a too-friendly pigeon from your lunch.
He flaps back in answer, his hand engaging yours in a brief slap-fight before he backs down. He slumps into his chair, defeated. “It’s almost there,” he groans, folding his arms. “Hey, Luke? Wanna swap?”
“No.”
“Do it,” you prompt.
Luke’s head rolls begrudgingly. “Yes ma’am. Jeez.” He plants a warm kiss on your leg again before clambering out from underneath it, pulling his mask back down over his face.
Another moment later and Kieran is in front of you instead. “You ok?” you wonder out loud.
“Bored.” He rests his head sideways on your thigh. His fingers find your bare lower leg and he runs them up, down, up, down, but it’s soft and purposeless. Soon, his head lifts— thin, red eyes staring up at you. The gaze doesn’t waver as he leans back in his chair and starts to unfasten your other boot.
“She’s gonna get cold,” Luke quips from the computer.
“Nah. She’s not.”
Your skin prickles as Kieran pulls away your boot, like a reflection of his brother, but tortuously more slow. He lets the cool air of the room set in. “Huh,” he corrects himself. “Maybe she is.”
You get the sense you’re being punished; both of them are petty. You’re pettier, though. “Sylus?” you speak into the phone.
“Mmm?”
“Did I ever tell you about the time that Kieran— ah!”
In a heartbeat Kieran has lifted his mask— not enough, but enough— and planted a kiss above your knee. His hand is around your leg, pushing it further from the other, and you can’t help but gasp again.
“What are you…” Sylus starts to ask, but then he changes his mind. “No. I don’t want to know.”
“You sure, boss?” you chuckle breathlessly. “It might surprise you.”
“Nothing would surprise me at this point, sweetie. Those files had better be on their way.”
You tear your gaze away from Kieran to glance over at Luke. He’s sat, propped on an elbow, his chin in his palm, and he’s definitely not looking at the computer. He sits up straight under your scrutiny. Turns to the screen. After a few more drums of the keyboard, he gives you a thumbs up.
“Got it,” Sylus chimes in, no doubt perusing the files already. “Nothing seems amiss. Nice work.”
“Thanks, boss,” you grin. “I’ve been working very, very hard.”
The phone is snatched from your hand. “She has, sir!” Kieran speaks into it. He stands, putting it on speaker before setting it down beside you. “I think she deserves the night off.”
There’s a crash as he shoves the computer from the desk, and Luke leans back, swinging his feet up onto the now empty space. He lifts his mask marginally to put two fingers to his lips, whistling in celebration. There’s a slow clap for good measure, too.
Kieran bows to him with a flourish. Then to you; you bow your head back.
“I’m hanging up,” Sylus states plainly.
“Ok,” you chirp, distracted. “I hope she calls you soon, boss!”
“I don’t… I’m not…” your leader stutters. He reconsiders. “Thank you. Don’t think, however, that I’m—”
He doesn’t get to finish the warning, threat, or whatever else it was. Luke’s finger stands proudly on the phone, still connected to the ‘end call’ button. “What?” he dismisses as you and Kieran look at him. “I slipped! If boss asks, you saw me slip.”
“I did see it,” Kieran nods.
“I saw it too,” you add solemnly.
There’s silence for a single moment, and there’s never silence with you three around. It lasts as long as it usually does.
You all burst into laughter.

“baby keep talking, but nobody’s listening!”
anime: jujutsu kaisen
characters: gojo satoru, choso, fushiguro toji
summary: they find you on a date with someone they've never seen before, but they don't need to look for long to see how bored you were. deciding for you that it would be the first and only date you ever went on with that man, they come to your rescue.
warnings: afab! reader, she/her pronouns used, reader is on a date with a man, said date sucks ass (trying to regulate what y/n eats, snarky comments, egotistical, rude to hospitality workers), shoko/itadori/shiu help set you up on a date but they suck at it
↣ gojo satoru
"satoru, you have to get out," you huff at him, crossed arms over your chest. he sat on your cough, flicking through tv channels. "my date is coming here in ten minutes!"
"you mean the stranger that shoko met at the mall and said would 'totally be your type'?" he says, looking over his shoulder to you. you raise a brow. "c'mon, blow him off. we need to finish 'the last of us'!"
"don't you dare watch it while i'm gone, satoru, or god so help me—" your phone rings, interrupting your threat. you answer when you see the number of your date. "hello? oh, yes, this is y/n."
you begin to walk to grab your keys and your bag, satoru following after you when you suddenly stop.
"oh, uh... you want to meet there?" you say, tilting your head, "no, that's fine, i'll leave now. see you—..."
"he's not coming to pick you up?" satoru questions, watching as you take out your car keys.
"he's actually already there. and he's ordered for me." you say with a bit of doubt in your voice. satoru can hear it. "it's fine, i should go now. don't you dare watch that show, i will kill you. see you, satoru."
the whole time you're gone, he can’t do anything. he’s sitting in silence for an hour, not even looking at his phone. he felt angry at himself.
so he followed you, obviously.
he looked up the restaurant you had mentioned to him before and saw the pictures posted online. it looked like such a nice first date place. and that boiled even more jealousy in him. of course he had to follow you.
and luckily he did; you looked miserable.
he takes out his phone as soon as possible.
“you know how many calories are in that meal?” your date said after the waiter left your table, “way better for you than what you wanted.”
you had just told him your favourite dish in the menu. and he told you he ordered you just a salad. while he got two meals because he was ‘bulking’.
when shoko showed you his instagram, you had to admit that he was cute. he was fit too, and you did your fair share of exercise. he had a nice smile and he also posted photos of his dog. but that couldn’t shield you from what was right in front of you.
you found out he was a model for a magazine you’ve never heard of, and while that was impressive, it was his whole personality. you asked about his pet, and he somehow turned it back to his career and how he did a fireman themed calendar last year. you’d think he was surely more than that, but it didn’t seem it. you had barely talked about yourself. it didn’t look like he was interested anyway.
“hm, what did i do today?” he thought out. you cringed at the way he tapped his chin, pretending to think. “i hit the gym at 5am, walked my pet for an hour and a half, took some photos for my resume since i’ve got a new deal coming up, and spent time from then to now just at the studio.”
you were waiting for him to ask about your day. he doesn’t.
“and you know, i’m actually the most valued model at my studio. they always call me for shoots, i’m always first on their list. you’d think i could catch a break every so often,” he chuckles out, rubbing up and down his arms. you hold back from rolling your eyes as you sip your water. “but it’s hard being so… handsome.”
you stare at him and fight the urge to roll your eyes once again.
"what about you?" the moment you've waited for comes a little too late. you're not even interested in speaking about yourself.
"well, i did some grocery shopping this morning—"
"what did you buy?"
"me and my friends are having a movie tomorrow, so i just bought some snacks for us," you explained for some reason, "chocolates, popcorn, chips—"
"junk food?" he scoffs back, "no, no, you don't need all that. you oughta' bring it back and get some fruit. way better for you."
you down the rest of your alcoholic drink you had ordered (the one thing he did let you choose) and look away.
that is when you feel a hand rest on your upper back.
"excuse me, ma'am," you look up and widen your eyes when you see satoru standing before you. he's wearing a white button-up, black slacks, dress shoes and a black waist apron. you freeze up. "the gentleman over there asked me to give you this, already paid for."
you look over to where he was pointing. nanami sits in his own suit as he waves his hand at you, pained smile. satoru places a mojito in front of you. your date stands up.
"the hell? doesn't he see that i'm here?" he scoffs as he stands up. his chair screeches against the floor, which collects everyone's attention in the restaurant. "he's insulting me! what a prick! i'm gonna fuck him up!"
"hey!" you stand up as he begins trudging over. satoru places a hand on your shoulder to stop you, and you see nanami roll his eyes and stand up as well, ready for the fight. "what are you two doing here? and why are you dressed like that?"
"i'm the ultimate undercover agent, of course," he replies. he begins pulling off his apron and dropping it on your seat. he hooks his arm with yours and smiles. "let's get outta' here."
"but my date—"
"he's fine," you watch as nanami dodges one of his punches with and irritated face. "nanami will take care of him."
you let him whisk you out of the restaurant while everyone is watching the two men fight (not really). satoru walks you to his car and starts the engine. you see nanami's car behind his.
"did you seriously bring him along to get me out of that date?" you chuckle as you stare at him. satoru purses his lips and looks away. "thank you, satoru. you didn't have to."
"you're welcome, gorgeous," he responds to you, "i could tell from the phone call that he wasn't all that. wonder what barrel they fished him out of."
you let out a small sigh and look out the window. you were embarrassed; this was the first date you've ever been set up on, and it went horribly. you knew you should've left earlier, not wait until satoru came along. he was your saviour for today, you had to admit.
but what was even worse, you seemingly let than man talk to you like that. you could chalk it up to just being friendly and giving him the best benefit of the doubt, but deep down you know you would never have let that slide with people you know. hell, yaga could speak to you that way and you would still give him an earful.
"don't be sad, y/n, now we can go to yours and watch our show," satoru attempts to cheer you up. he flashes you a smile. "i promise, i won't eat all your food."
"you're a liar, satoru." you laugh back.
"seriously though, that guy was a wreck. why did he keep talking about calories and stuff?" he mumbles out with a disapproving shake of his head, "i had to shut him up somehow. i should've just spilt the drink over him."
"oh god, what about the food? i didn't pay for my meal."
"you mean the salad you didn't want? i cancelled it for ya'."
"why aren't you this nice all the time? you usually bully me." you claim in a joking matter. satoru pouts at you. "i appreciate this, a lot. i guess guys who only ever think about themselves aren't my type."
there's a quietness in the car as he turns on his indicator. you enjoy the little noise coming from the radio, a song that you've heard quite a lot.
"you know, yuuji, nobara and megumi?" he clears his throat.
"yeah?" you respond to him in confusion.
"yeah," he hums with a nod of his head, "i think 'bout them a lot. they're good kids."
"they are," you agree with him. it takes you a few seconds before you look at him again. "satoru, that's not what i meant."
"so am i your type?"
"oh my god."
"answer the question, y/n."
↣ choso
"yuuji?"
"yeah?"
"do you know who this is?" choso shoves his phone into his brother's face.
"uh, that's y/n." yuuji responds in a bit of confusion. the two of them were sitting in a new restaurant with ramen on their tables. choso’s sat nearly untouched for the past ten minutes as he flicked through some pictures you sent to a groupchat with him in it. yuuji was halfway through chewing noodles when choso asked him about the photo you sent a few minutes ago. “why? she looks good.”
“no doubt,” choso mutters in response as he zooms in on the other figure in the picture you took of your reflections in the window, “i mean him.”
“oh, that’s the guy who me, nobara and y/n saw last week at the movies,” yuuji responds, “he asked y/n for her number, so i think they’re out together right now.”
he looks at yuuji in disbelief as the pink-haired boy starts slurping on the soup. it takes him a few seconds to properly react.
“are you serious?” choso says a little loudly. people turn to stare at the pair. “you let him get her number?”
“what? he seemed cool and y/n didn’t seem to mind that i gave it to him.” yuuji holds his hands up in defense as choso angrily glares at the photos on his phone screen. “you said you weren’t gonna’ make a move on her anyway!”
“that doesn’t—” a groan leaves his lips as choso holds his head. he lets in a deep breath. “okay, it’s fine.”
“i’m sorry, choso.”
“no, it’s my fault, i did say i wasn’t going to ask her out,” he tells yuuji, who slowly goes back to eating, “i… i missed out, i guess.”
yuuji frowns as the guy in front of him sadly eats his food.
“you know…” he begins with a small smile. choso looks up to him. “they’re just out for lunch nearby. y/n told me where they were going. we could—”
“yuuji! hurry up!” choso has grabbed his jacket and is rushing to the door before yuuji can reply, “we might miss them!”
yuuji scurries out of restaurant after he gobbles down his ramen. it isn’t too far of a drive, actually. it took about 15 minutes to get there and choso had easily spotted your car in front of a cozy cafe. he parks next to it and almost ducks when be notices you in the chair facing the window, facing the two of them, with your date sitting in the booth — your favourite spot. choso always let you sit in the booth side.
choso clutched onto the steering wheel with gritted teeth. yuuji looked towards you to get a better view.
“huh… she looks annoyed.” yuuji points out.
“this guy…” choso grunts.
inside the cafe, you had taken a few photos of your food and your drink. you’re glad yuuji suggested this place, you loved the service and the food here. the servers were always so nice and helpful and quick, and the food was amazing too.
it was obvious to you that your date didn’t think the same.
“god, everything in here is so…” he begins as he examines the design on his waffles. he cringes a little. “girly.”
“it’s just a bunny design,” you point out as you sadly stir the cat-shaped foam into your hot drink, “it’s cute.”
“it’s embarrassing,” he reiterates. you purse your lips and sip your drink. the delicious taste was enough to make you forget his sour tone. until he speaks up again. “can’t believe your friend told us to go here.”
“i love this cafe,” you state, “everyone here is so nice.”
“the service is slow and they gave me the blueberry waffles instead of the normal ones like i said,” he complains. you set your drink down and hold back from rolling your eyes. “i don’t care how busy you are, you always check five times that the order is correct.”
you don’t even reply to him after that, only trying to enjoy your meal that you paid for. he wasn't helping at all. you thought that because he was so charismatic when talking to yuuji that he was probably a good catch, but you couldn't have been more wrong. maybe he was just putting up a front in order to score you. you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover anymore.
"hey. over here," he begins to snap his fingers and nodding at a server with four full plates of food. the guy looks over frantically, obviously under pressure. "i wanna' ask you something."
"ah, right, give me a second, sir—" the guy was trying to distribute the food with the customers who he was serving.
"i told you, slow service," your date scowls towards you. could you be any more embarrassed right now? the server finishes off his task before coming over to you two. before he can even ask, your date is holding up a nearly empty cup of coffee. "this is the most bitter coffee i have ever had in my whole entire life."
"oh, well, you ordered an americano, sir," the poor server explains, "they tend to be bitter."
"what? no, no, no," the guy in the booth starts shaking his head, "i ordered a flat white."
"you..." the server begins. he was the one who had taken your order too.
"you ordered the americano, actually," you pointed out. the guy raised a brow at you, unamused. "it's okay, you can just order a flat white—"
"god, i did not order an americano." he claims.
but you distinctly remember him saying 'americano' for his drink. and the server repeated the order back to him before it was confirmed annoyedly. you stare down at his nearly empty cup.
"y'know what? just put the flat white on the tab, i will pay for it." you sigh out as you rub your neck.
your date looks more pissed off as the server leaves.
"he was wrong, you don't have to pay for another drink." he mutters out.
"it's nothing, don't worry." you retort and stare back down at your food. you didn't have an appetite anymore and a few minutes pass in silence.
the flat white comes out after such a long time of waiting. your date drinks it quietly, but you notice that he makes a face to show he doesn't like it. you quickly excuse yourself to go and pay at the counter for your food (he insisted on splitting the bill since he didn't like the place) so that you don't have to hear him bicker about it.
"hey," you turn behind you to see choso standing there in a baggy hoodie, a bit nervous, "fancy seeing you here..."
your eyes flicker to outside, where you see yuuji waving at you from choso's car. a smile lands on your face.
"nice to see you, choso," you mutter back as you fish out your wallet. the cashier rings up your total and you press your card to the reader. "how was your lunch with yuuji?"
"good. we cut it short to save you," he bluntly says. you blink as he glares at your date. "i don't like the guy you're with."
"me neither," you sigh out, "i think this is the last time i'll see him. but i gotta' tough it out for the rest of the date."
"you could just leave now." choso adds. he looks at you with furrowed brows.
"ah... i'm not that confident—"
"a takeaway box and takeaway cup, please," choso asks the cashier. she had been sitting there and silently agreeing with you that the guy you were sitting with was a total jerk. "thank you."
he places them in your hands and pushes you gently towards the table.
"who the hell is this guy?" your date scoffs and glares at choso, who does the same back.
"look, i'm not really having a good time on this date," you say as you play with the takeaway boxes. choso hastily takes them from you and fills it with your food in an organised matter. "i think this is the farthest we go. please enjoy the rest of your food, though."
"you serious? ditching me for some jackass?" he accusingly points at choso who wears a shit-eating grin on his face. "this is bullshit!"
"calm down, god..." you groan and rub your temple, "i just don't like you, you're so rude."
"me? you're the one who dragged me to this shithole!"
"shut your mouth before i drop you right now," choso scowls as he pushes the guy back into the booth seat. everyone was watching now, quietly thanking choso for showing up and dealing with him. "grow up, man. you act like a child."
choso grabs your hand and tugs you out of the cafe. you both thank the service with your takeaway in hand. yuuji gets out of the car with a wide smile once you two get closer.
"so, how did it go?" he asks with wide eyes.
you throw your keys at his chest.
"you're driving my car back to my apartment as punishment for setting me up with that asshole," you say with a small frown. you all knew you didn't really blame him, though. "never giving my number out to anyone ever again."
yuuji apologises thoroughly before getting into your car and driving off in the wrong direction. choso opens your door and gives you the food. once he's inside the car himself, he starts it up and begins driving.
you rest a hand over choso's on the middle console.
"thanks, choso," you sigh out, "i should've done that earlier."
"it's fine, y/n, i just wished i came sooner." he replies.
you stare at the side of his face, how irritated he looked just thinking about your date. a smile settles onto your lips and you brush your thumb over his knuckles. he falters and looks back to you for a second before muttering a 'what'.
"i'll take you out for dinner as a thank you," you state, which makes his ears go red, "you're a sweetheart, choso."
"i... uh, yeah, i'll go out with you," he mutters, "thanks..."
the laugh you let out is worth ruining thousands of your dates.

"have you ever been to france?" the conceited finance guy in front of you asks, fixing his tie. he wears this smirk on his face that proves that he just knows how rich he was. he wasn't coy at all. you force a smile and shake your head slowly, trying to enjoy your meal at least. "really? that's a shame. i've been plenty of times before, and i've gotta say, the best part is..."
you begin to zone out, sighing to yourself as you move your pasta around on your plate haphazardly. he had chosen such a nice italian restaurant to absolutely ruin your perception of this guy after the first ten minutes of talking to him. you look to your watch, showing it had been only two hours since your date started.
cursing out shiu in your head, you cautiously look out the window to the sky. it wasn't that dark yet, but it felt like your night had been taken away. your mind wanders to yesterday to your conversation with shiu.
shoe
you're getting picked up at 5 tomorrow
y/n
am or pm?
shoe
???
shoe
don't show him how stupid you are, he's a rich guy. maybe he'll bring you to a yacht
y/n
why would i want to be on a yacht for our first date? is he nice?
shoe
he's rich, y/n. that's all that matters.
sometimes, you wonder how he managed to meet all these people. but then you remember that assholes attract assholes. they move together in flocks.
you stare at your red wine and tap your finger on your cheek.
"what do you think about it?" he questions, getting your attention again. you look up to see his smug face. did he really want to know?
"oh, me?" you asks, sitting up straight. you had no idea what he had been saying for the past 15 minutes.
"well, who else would i be talking to, silly?" he says in this mocking tone.
'yourself, it's who you've been talking to all night', you internally say. you had wasted such a nice outfit too. it was such a shame.
"mmm, well, it's a bit—" you begin, only to get interrupted.
"it's insane, isn't it? how could you lose so much money in only a year?" he barks out a laugh, as obnoxious as he was. the table shakes as he bangs his fist against it, waiters and guests looking towards you two. "it's absolutely preposterous! i would never make such a decision like that."
you chew out an awkward laugh before turning to your wine, sipping it.
unknowingly to you, toji was waiting in the car outside the building, getting a good view of you and your new date. he cursed shiu in a huff; not only did he set you up with someone, but the guy was a total prick. he couldn't have done a worse job, and he was broke. he pulled his seat back, watching him with pointed eyes. that guy's mouth hadn't stopped moving ever since you entered the restaurant.
and you? you looked gorgeous, your dress hugged you just right, so much so that he was jealous. toji knows it should've been him to go and take you somewhere like this.
he snaps when the guy calls the waiter over, complaining about his half-eaten food and causing a scene. you looked so uncomfortable. standing up, you excused yourself to the bathroom. and toji is quick to get out of the car.
"he's such an asshole." toji claims as you exit the ladies room. you freeze, pressing out the creases of your dress before walking closer to him at the end of the hall.
"when did you get here?" you ask, hand on your hip, "and how do you know he's an asshole?"
"been watchin' the whole time from the car," he tells you, watching as you widen your eyes and tilt your head at him, "what? couldn't help myself. shiu said you were on a date with some rich guy, 'n i had to see it."
"yeah, well, remind me to kill shiu. he's got the worst taste in men." you sigh out, crossing your arms as you lean against the wall with him. he peers at you. "you know he asked to try every single wine they had before we ordered? and he complained about the merlot not being darker. not only that, he saw my plate and said 'are you gonna' eat all of that?'. the dickhead!"
"that shit looked good." he commented, shaking his head, "who wouldn't finish that food."
"right? ugh, i hate him so much. and he hasn't even asked me about myself other than my name. he explained to me his 'entrepreneurship' and dropshipping. wanted to clock him in the face." you complained more, only fueling toji's own hate for the man.
he lifts himself off the wall, grabbing your arm and dragging you with him. "go 'n get your things. we're gettin' out of here."
"what? what am i supposed to say to him?" you mumble, stumbling behind him, "where are we going?"
"don't say anything to him. if ya' feel bad, pay for your own food." he explains to you, hand moving to rest on your back, "i'm not lettin' you waste that pretty little dress on someone like that guy."
you stare at the back of his head before falling into step with him, stopping at the table with your date. he does a double take once he sees toji, slowly standing up.
"who's he?" he asks, scanning him up and down.
"none of your business." toji retorts, looking down at him.
you begin to grab your purse when he holds out his hand to you. "where the hell are you going?" your date asks you.
"here. for my food." you say, handing him a fifty. the note flutters onto the table in front of him, which he stares at in awe. tugging on your jacket, you stare back at him with furrowed brows. "good luck in life."
with that, you turn around and begin to walk to the exit. behind you, toji sticks his tongue out at the other man and follows after. his hand finds your back once more and you wait to cross the road, sighing out to him, "thank you, toji. saved me."
"no problem." he replies, opening the door for you.
"how did you get in my car?" you ask, sitting in the driver's seat.
"don't ask." he tosses you the keys, making you wonder even more. he gets into the other side, looking back at you. “we’ll hit up that restaurant downtown. the one you always talk about wanting to go to.”
“but you said you don’t like their cuisine.” you claim, starting the car.
“it’s the only place i know that’s fancy.” he explains, looking out the window.
“sweetheart, i wouldn’t say that’s fancy—”
“do you want to go out or not?”
you laugh, reaching out a hand and holding his. he gives a small smile before looking back at you. “thank you, toji.” you say, stopping at a red light. you glance at him, sincere look in your eyes. “it means a lot that you care.”
“jus’ saving you from being stupid as fuck.” he tells you, making you roll your eyes and snatch your hand back, “could ya’ not tell he was a tool when he didn’t knock at your door? motherfucker waited in his car.”
“my god, you’ve been watching since then? toji!” you jokingly reprimand, looking at him for a split second, "i should've known from the start though... he was on his phone the whole time, in the car ride. on bluetooth speaker too."
"i woulda' jumped out the car." he retorts, shaking his head, "we should jump shiu."
"we really should." you laugh, smiling at him, "maybe for our next date."
toji can't help but roll his eyes. he knows deep down that you were hoping shiu was going to set you up with him instead. he can see it on your face, a smile that is pushing through on your lips. you're secretly happy that it was toji who 'ruined' your 'date'.
"i say that because i know you can't pay for dinner."
"did you think i was paying for this one?"
you scoff back, elbowing him, "you leech."
"you know you love me." he says it teasingly, but he knows better than anyone that you actually do.

─────── · ·
You had a crush on your boss. As the assistant to the Smosh Games channel you spent almost every moment by his side and there was not a single odd task you had not done; like running to the thrift store to get ten red shirts or to the corner store when the kickstarter and assorted energy drinks were out of stock in the kitchen.
You loved you job and truly loved working beside Spencer and you did not know at what point when those friendly stares and touches had become romanticized in your head. From him always opening the door for you or reminding you to take a break (or another one), he never once took all the extra work you did around the studio for granted and maybe that was a cause for the rose-tinted glasses.
Yet when he would bring your favourite coffee order in the morning even when you had said every time that that was your part of the job, he would just wave a hand in your face, assuring you before walking over to his desk- his schedule for the day already printed (and colour-coded, obvriously) so that the day would move smoothly.
Yet even when the day did not, Spencer never snapped or showed any anger towards you. Still being the caring and understanding boss you knew him to be, boss, you remind yourself. Yet you both acted past your positions, you had met his friends outside of work, went out for drinks with him at the end of a long day and even had dinner at his place one time (or maybe it was two times? three times? cant be more than four times?).
But that was just it right? You were both friendly co-workers. Or well, boss and worker but Spencer never held his position above your own, or at least not when it was important. He would pull the boss card as a joke every now and then off-camera that you feigned annoyance to much to the enjoyment of everyone else who loved his on-going joke around the office. A joke was all this is, just some lighthearted teasing when he puts a fleeting hand on my shoulder to ensure I know it is a joke.
But that all seemed to change when a developer from a gaming studio came in to demo the game alongside the cast. Spencer would be starring in this video, you sat behind camera, ready and waiting with his phone and can of kickstarter as you sorted through emails on your tablet, unknowing to the presence beside you.
"Hey, do you know where the director is? I have a tight schedule to be on since I... need... to... be..." his words slowed as the sentence progressed before falling off completely as the developer look at you. His mouth slightly agape before quickly fixing his hair and jaw. Looking up from your tablet, shutting it off quickly as to not give away company secrets, you presented a friendly smile to the individual. "Sorry, could you repeat your question please? I was a little bit tied up on these emails," you say, tapping your fingers against the metal device to exaggerate your point.
"Oh, um, haha, yeah, I was-a looking for the director. Do you know where he is, love?" you cringe automatically at the nickname, leaning slightly away in your chair as you look around the room quickly trying to find Alex Tran. You begin to cringe up your spine, contracting into yourself when the developer takes a half step closer to your chair, you can hear his breathing in your ear that has your smile twitching before you stand to present more space between the two of you.
"I don't see him here at the moment, we are also shooting another video the next studio over. I'm sure as soon as the cast is done there in..." you click on Spencers phone to see the time, "...in 10 minutes. Do you have everything you need to run the software or is there anything else I can get you in the meanwhile?" you ask politely, hands gripping your tablet as the man smiles.
"Alright, thats okay, that you for letting me know. I could really go for a coffee if its not a hassle? Maybe I could also add my number-" you take a big sigh out in relief once hearing the door to the studio open. Alex, Spencer, Courtney, Amanda and Trevor all filing in one by one. Your eyes meet Spencer's as he pauses his conversation with Trevor, eyebrow raised in question as you tip your head towards the developer that stands back by your side.
Spencer's brows furrow as he walks over to you, a smile plastering itself against his features as he steps in between the two of you, extending his hand as a physical barrier. "Hi, Tyler is it? I'm Spencer the head of this channel and Alex over there will be directing the video. Apologies for the delay, Trevor, Courtney, and Amanda were all finishing a shoot. I hope you understand?" Spencer clarifies, pointing at everyone he mentions, tone leaving no rude for argument.
"Yes, this lovely sir/miss, told me. I never got your name sweetheart-" Spencer coughs, his shoulders tense as he looks over his shoulder at you, "Could you go check in with Alex and see if he's doing alright? I can see the set up from here," Spencer pulls his boss tone at you for the first time without a joke or fault and all you can do is nod, pivot on your heel and walk towards Alex.
"Everything alright there, superstar?" Alex teases. Supserstar, that's what the Games department staff called you, seeing you run around like a shooting star while managing a thousand jobs in one with grace, simply put a superstar and you were gracious for the name as you nod at Alex. "Yeah, a lot better now, he was... very friendly." You choose your words carefully, knowing that the developers team is sponsoring todays video and fuelling your pay check.
"Mhmm," Alex hums out, carefully watching Spencer speak with the developer. The passive aggressive undertone is a surprise to everyone in the room from how friendly Spencer usually was. "Spencer really seems worked up, did something happen during the last shoot?" You ask, refusing to turn yourself back around before the cameras roll.
"No, he actually ended up successfully losing Don't Win Mario Kart but I think this is a more recent than that thing, what exactly did the guy say to you?"
"Oh, well he was... nice. Just like I said, a bit too friendly for me upon first meeting. Kept calling me pet names and stuff like that, didn't get handsy or anything, must be a cultural thing," you say before subconsciously taking a drink from the open Kickstarter can without a second thought. "Makes sense then," Alex shrugs before walking over to the filming crew as you follow behind and sit back in your chair. "What makes sense then?" you wish to clarify yet receive no answer except a presence by your side.
"Hey, you doing okay? I'm sorry I wasn't here earlier to help," Spencer comments, taking his phone and drink from your hands with a tight smile that does not seem to reach his eyes. "Yeah, thank you handling it. I didn't want to seem rude to him-" you begin to clarify to your boss who cuts you off. "You did nothing wrong, you did everything right. I sorted out the rest, THAT shouldn't happen again," Spencer points out strongly before taking a sip of Kickstart.
"Oh," is all you manage to get out before Alex calls the cast to their positions and you open your tablet again and move back to those emails only to find your mind drifting, cheeks warming at Spencers protective display...but any other boss would do that right? Protect their employees from clients... and what about what Alex said earlier too...
Your thoughts are a whirlwind as you mindlessly reply to email after email and fix everyones schedules before sending them out for tomorrow morning. The cameras are still rolling as you fix yourself in your chair, trying to become more comfortable for only a five minute break to be called and you are standing up in an instant to update Spencer on all the new information you received.
Spencer stands right beside you, leaning against your chair, can in between his hands and glasses slipping down his nose as he watches you intently rambling on and on about the tight schedule him and Alex had after this shoot to maintain while also taking a dinner break. Yet what caught you off guard was how comfortable you felt being so close to him, your arms touching every time you breathed, his gaze so trained onto you that it held you confused as to why you reacted to negatively to the man before. Slowly looking over to Alex who was already looking between the two of you with a knowing smile.
─────── · ·
Since then the dynamic had changed in the office, or at least between you and Spencer. You both were closer (if that was thought possible by the rest of the staff), so close in fact that you both were called into Ian, Anthonys, and HR's office that morning.
"Hey guys," Ian greeted, albeit a bt awkwardly as he looked between the two of you. Anthony offered a wave from behind the desk as well, it felt as is your parents were sitting you down for a talk, your cheeks painted pink as you looked at Spencer to only find support as he shrugged and leaned in saying, "Seems like we are the ones in trouble for once, what are we going to do superstar?"
And all you can do his shove him away playfully, refusing to look at Ian and Anthony as soon as papers came onto the table. "So... before we get started. You both have been doing amazing work, both together and a part but this is not a promotional meeting," Ian began before Anthony took over, they seemed to have rehearsed this...
"We are, as well as HR, who deemed that it might be easier to talk to us that you two are potentially seeing each other, and there is nothing wrong with that! We just need to know if you need to swap departments," Anthony says looking at you. You rapidly shake your head, laughing away the sweat that is building on your palms, rubbing them on your pant legs now refusing to look at Spencer, nervous that the crush you had been harbouring for some time now was being forced into the light.
Spencer also appeared to be refusing to look in your direction as well, stuck in a starring contest with Ian as the room laid in wait before Spencer spoke up, "We are not, formally, seeing one another, though I do enjoy spending time with them outside of work, as I hope they do too?'
"Yes, of course I do. I don't see you as my boss when we sit and eat out like that Spence," you mention to only received a raised brow that has your eyes widening at your word choice... should've just said outside of work, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Your cheeks have never burned so hard, your nails digging into your pant leg only for a hand to rest on top of them, easing you to relax. And by trailing your eye up to a tattooed arm that you would kill to colour in, you stop dead in your tracks at the hint of a smile on Spencers lips before you both are dismissed without signing a singular paper (or at least yet, you hope).
"Only at dinner, huh?" Spencer presses as soon as the door closes but you keep on walking in front of him as he jogs in front of you, causing you to pause in your steps. The cubicles are now all left empty as everyone has left for lunch, you two are the only ones in this way to large of a room, yet it does not seem large enough for the conversation you are about to unpack.
"... what do you want me to say, Spencer?" you press back, dodging the question successfully for a round as Spencer takes a step back, hands raising slightly from his sides. "I'm just curious where else I would be your boss outside of work if dinners are the only thing that counts..."
"Spencer!" you whisper shout, mind already going into the nooks and crannies you did your best to hide. You looked around but had not yet felt uncomfortable by the converssation, only the unbearable heat starting to crawl up your skin as his harm drapes itself over his forehead. His buttoned shirt sleeves are rolled up to his elbows and his signature leather boots creak as he shifts his weight. He seems as bothered as you are right now... as he cannot stand still....
"Oh... I see now," Spencer begins, his low tone has you moving closer to grasp onto his next words, your heart races, your brain a bit fuzzy but you don't feel nervousness or the least bit scared. In fact, you feel freer than ever in this moment, unloading what you desperately tried to hide for so long. "...where else do you hear my voice telling you what to do outside of work?" Spencer continues, keeping his tone even as you meet eyes catching a flickering of surface level genuine curiosity mixed with something, deeper, almost hidden...
You gasp, Spencer tilts his head, putting that little sound to memory as he waits for you to take the next step closer and you invite yourself to. You can feel the heat coming from his body, you both stand so close, you chests brushing up against one another, your breath hitching as he fixes his hair while staring at you. "Spencer..." your voice worries yet comes off as a whine, "What?" Spencer asks softly, still allowing you control that has you really questioning of going back inside that office and signing those damn papers.
"We can't do this right now, here in the office, please," you manage to get out behind your brain imagining every scenario where you press him up against a white wall and not kiss him all over to you both are breathless. "But outside?" Spencer asks once more, "Outside of dinner?" Spencer presses further as you only nod once, "yeah, outside," you confirm before taking a step back as he does the same, swallowing harshly and playing with his hair once more.
"Okay then," Spencer confirms.
"Okay then," you copy and for the remaining day in the office. You are sitting awkwardly in chairs, fingers aching to put your digital signature to the e-document as you keep sneaking glances at one another. It does not help when his phone buzzes in your lap that has you startling upright during the end of a shoot (thankfully).
The car ride back was even more tense, you both car-pooled often, living in the same building but watching him out of the corner of your eye as you changed the stick-shift, his arm, showing off his inner arm tattoos came to close to your hand, just teasing its way to your leg, you quickly parked, feeling that you were squirming in your chair, utterly restless.
─────── · ·
You both barely managed to get into the apartment and lock the door before your hands were on one another, breaths equally catching and being saved. Spencer groaned against your touch as you fell weak at the knees and fell back onto the couch where he met you and watching his cage you in, leaning in closer and closer, the documents lingered on your mind that had you presses your hands to his chest.
Spencer immediately stood up, "You doing alright, darling? Did I do something wrong?" your heart raced even more. "We, I- need to sign those papers right now before we continue..." you point between the two of you, intently looking up at his pink lips, "...this," you breathe out as Spencer sits down on the coffee table, feeling around for his phone as you both scramble to put your e-signatures on while also claiming sick leave... for you both would not be showing up tomorrow morning either once feeling his lips and the caress of his skin against your own.

✦ TIP: JUST DO IT
✦ one shot ,, nagi seishiro x gn!reader
content:: nagi has a crush on you— a barista. the problem? he doesn't know how to approach you besides ordering drinks.
for @neversam,, fluff,, 932 words
additional:: cafe worker reader, reo is a wingman, mutual crushing
Nagi doesn't know how to deal with this. It's such a hassle.
Such a bother that you were beginning to plague his mind.
Every time he passes by the coffee shop to get a drink after his classes end, he sees your face. Your face that he got used to seeing almost everyday. With how frequent he had come to visit there, he's gotten the chance to know your name, and you've started to get used to his, having written it whenever he orders his usual.
He thinks your smile is cute. As well as your voice, even more whenever you wish him a good day before he leaves the cafe. Seasons have passed, and you've become a little frequent in his life, like a daily log in he always claims from, one where he doesn't wanna miss a single day. He found himself visiting just to see your face, even when he didn't feel like buying a drink.
Just like always, he walks along this morning. The soft jingle of the bell decorating the cafe entrance notifies you, the new customer registered in your brain. Not looking up from the current drink you were making, you greeted them. “Welcome,” you say, loud enough for them to hear.
“Mhm,” Nagi replies, not bothering to greet you properly in return. You've gotten used to it. In truth, he was too busy staring at you to form a sensical reply. You looked pretty today— not like you never looked pretty.
You recognized that voice, as well as the iconic short, half-assed responses. You could tell it was your favorite regular. After handing the mug of coffee towards the previous customer, you switched your attention to him. “The usual?” you asked, already fetching a cup the same size he always drank in. A thing you've noticed about him is how he orders the same drink, not bothering to go through the hassle of trying anything different.
“Yeah,” he confirmed. You smiled at him and went to prepare his order.
His heart skipped a beat. Nagi's pretty sure that he has a crush on you.
What a bother.
“Going to the cafe, again?” his companion asked, the purple-haired boy looking over at him as he packed their things. Nagi looked up from the game on his phone, lazily nodding his head at Reo in reply. “You go there almost every day. Are the drinks that good?” he questioned, curious.
“I guess…” Nagi answered, not finding the energy to get into detail. There was a stretch of silence for a while, before he decided that maybe he should tell him more. Reo should be pretty experienced with these sorts of things, right? “Well, I visit daily… not just for the drinks they have,” he confessed, mouth forming an ‘x’ right after.
Reo blinked. He looked like he didn't expect that to be the reason he visits the coffee shop like it's part of his routine. “You… like a person that works there?” he concludes, assuming so, as that was what his confession was pointing to.
Nagi nodded, again. “Mhm,” he confirms. “They're… cute,” he trails off, before adding on. “I've had my eyes on them for a while now.”
“You know their name?” Reo asked— trying to scale how much you two know about each other— to which, Nagi gestured yes. “Maybe you should ask them out, then. You know, talk to them while making an order. Or slip them a tip with a note along with it.”
The white-haired boy thought about it, all while he mindlessly tapped on his phone screen. He watched nonchalantly as the victory message pops up, exhaling softly. “Hey, Reo,” Nagi called, looking up from the game. “Do you have any good first date ideas?”
He's surprising himself for actually bothering to make a move.
That afternoon, Nagi, once again, arrives at the cafe you work at. Upon entering, he was greeted by you, along with the iconic scent of coffee with hints of cream. He had a goal in mind. This visit, he will ask you out.
“Same drink?” you asked, smiling as he nodded a confirmation. “Your order will be ready in a few minutes,” you remark, making your way to start on the beverage. Nagi looks at you, watching with a fond attention behind his brown eyes. You look stunning, just like any other day.
Once you slide the cup towards him, he hands you the payment and a tip. You could see the faintest tinge of red while he did so, and you admit, it made you a feel a little interested on what made him blush. He left, and you picked the bill up. You noticed that a piece of paper came with it, a short and concise note scribbled with black ink. The ever curious person that you were, you read it.
You suddenly felt heat crawl up to your face when you did— alike to how he felt.
The content of the parchment was a time the following day, a phone number, and the name of a restaurant in the same city. Below it, there was a simple question: will you go on a date with me?
There was a noticeable tilt on your lips, a small feeling of warmth spreading across your chest at being asked out by the person you've been starting to like for a while. You couldn't help but read it again and again, somehow getting giddier everytime. How lucky were you that the feeling of interest was mutual?
You were happy to clear your plans for tomorrow.
(a/n):: Happy new years everyone

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞
↳ notes: lars content yay! as far as i can tell, i'm one of the few to do anything on him, so i hope there's more than ten people out there interested in him
↳ warnings: none
↳ song: she blinded me with science—thomas dolby
masterlist | commissions | carrd
• This guy is a snacker
• Take one look at him. You can't tell me that he doesn't constantly skip out on meals in favor of research, usually just pulling a granola bar or stained tupperware from his desk drawer to eat while he works
• Don't get me wrong, Lars can still devour a good bit of food. Sometimes you like to make fun of him for how much good he'll get on his face in the process
• "You're looking at me weird." He frowned at you one day from behind the rims of his glasses
• "Uh, yeah. Wonder why." You grin with mild surprise, watching as leftover rice and beans from the burrito in his hands stuck to the corners of his mouth like glue. He was quick to wipe it all off, ignoring you as you laughed at him
• Aside from that, Lars usually keeps his workplace pretty clean. It's cluttered, sure, but you don't think you've ever seen him wonder where something went. He just always knew where things were. It was like he had a system in his head, and the more you thought about it, the more you decided he definitely did
• The one time someone had even tried to clean his place up, you watched as he immediately jumped in, convincing them that they were needed elsewhere and sending them off before they could mess with his set-up
• Often times, when it's just the two of you alone in the offsight lab, you'll bounce a tennis ball off the wall while Lars types away, only ever looking up to squint at you when the ball gets to close to his head
• "You should really give that to the possesor. I'm sure it'd appreciate it." He hums to you at one point while spinning around in his chair to reach something. Behind you, you hear the unmistakable sound of a metal chair tapping excitedly on glass, and you make a tsking noise
• "Pretty sure you just want me to stop distracting you with my awesome skills." You boast, attempting to do a trickshot only to smack Lars in the back. He glares at you, and you inch backward with a nervous chuckle
• "You know what, I think I'll give it to the possesor."
• "What a brilliant idea." Lars says monotonely. You were quick to get rid of the ball
• He hums while he works!
• It's not anything discernable. In fact, most of the time he isn't even singing real songs. Just little tunes he'll make up on the spot for himself; often as a way to pass the time and make minute tasks fly by
• You notice it quite a lot, but don't really say anything. It's quite entertaining, if you're being truthful
• "Sittin' and waitin' for food. Sittin' and waitin' for food.." He'd improvised once while waiting yet again for a t.v dinner of his to finish its cycle in the labs shared microwave
• "Wow Lars. Voice of an angel, you have."
• "Stuff it."
• Lars doesn't often need help with his work, there's a reason he landed the job after all, but when he does, you're always the first person he goes to. It's a side effect of having spent so much time with you at work, and even outside of it—if you counted lunch breaks and independent experiments as a non-work environment
• He likes being able to get a fresh set of eyes on whatever's stumping him, and it usually doesn't take long for the two of you to work around whatever was holding him up
• Overall, you couldn't think of a better friend/co-worker to have, and the same applies for Lars. Your relationship will only strengthen as time goes on, even withstanding the bizzar experiences that Garraka eventually brings later that year
• But that's for much later. Right now, the two of you are content to sit in the aquarium-turned-headquarters, watching as the hours ticked by without a care in the world

Best Friend — Daisuke x gn! reader
summery: you find Daisuke different job, dodging a bullet that would've taken his life.
tw: mentions of pony express again (ew)
a/n: this was not planned, and I'm not entirely motivated, but there's not many Daisuke fics so I'm kinda left only one option :/
wc: 1.1k
Master List
Part One | Part Two
“How about this one,” You asked, showing your screen to Daisuke. Electrician apprentice read at the top, the requirements listed below. “I know it isn’t the most exciting, but you’d make good money.”
Daisuke eyed it for a few seconds, “It’s basically what I’d be doing for Pony Express.” “Exactly,” You nodded eagerly. “Except you wouldn’t be floating in space, who knows where for…how long was it supposed to be again?”
“Like…a year and some months,” He replied back, expression darkening slightly at the thought.
“Yeah, no way,” You grumbled, reading through the rest of the job listing. “Look, they’re open to no experience, it's perfect!”
“You think they’ll actually hire me?” He asked, brown eyes looking at you anxiously. “I mean I have nothing that makes me stand out.”
“Only one way to find out,” You shrugged, clicking on the apply button. “Besides, are you saying my resume skills suck? I made you look like a 5 star option even with your lack of experience.”
“Isn’t that lying though?” Daisuked questioned, resting his head on your shoulder as you filled the form out for him (he chipped in when you didn’t know something).
“No,” You hummed. “Lots of people don’t have experience, but they gotta put something on their resume.”
As you finished, you glanced down at him, “You wanna go through with this?”
“Yeah,” He nodded with a sigh. “I really don’t wanna go to space.”
“Hmm,” you hummed again, resting your head on top of his as you hit submit. “You should tell your mom before she does anything.”
“Yeah,” He agreed. “I just don’t wanna think about it right now.”
“I know,” You murmured, allowing him to play with your fingers. “But the longer you procrastinate the more likely you’ll become an express worker.”
“You’re so responsible,” Daisuke groans. “How do you do it?”
Letting out a short chuckle, you respond, “Anxiety. And right now I’m anxious I’m gonna have to say goodbye to you, which is why we’re filling out job applications right now.”
“I love you,” He mumbled, nuzzling into your neck.
“I love you too, silly,” You murmured back, pressing a kiss to the top of his head.
…
You were sitting in class when you noticed your phone light up. Daisuke’s smiling face popped up, he was calling you. Glancing up to the professor, they seemed busy enough to not notice you, so you opened your messages, typing a quick message,
What’s up? I’m in class rn
babygirl: YOU’LL NEVER GUESS QHAT HAPPENEF babygirl: oh babygirl: srry, txt u later babygirl: love you 🫶
okay! Love you too you goof <3
It was hard for you to shake the silly grin off your face for the rest of class. Daisuke always managed to make you feel like a lovesick fool, heart fluttering at every little thing he’d do. He had you kicking your feet and twirling your hair. Yeah, you were totally in the honeymoon phase, but you were enjoying every moment of that.
When you got out of class, you went outside to a quiet area on campus. Pulling out your phone, you sat on a bench and quickly hit the call button. You didn’t even get to hear the ring as Daisuke answered right away, cherrily shouting your name.
“What happened?” You asked with a smile. “You seem pretty excited.”
“I got the job!” Daisuke exclaimed, not waiting a second to tell you the good news.
“Whoa! Congrats!” You exclaimed back. “Wait, which one?”
“The factory one where I’d operate a forklift,” He replied, you could hear the smile in his voice. “My mom actually approves too.” “That’s amazing,” You felt super giddy. It felt like you had dodged a major bullet.
“Yeah,” He sighed. “It’s all thanks to you, I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
“Don’t mention it,” You shrugged, glancing up at the pink and yellow sky. Your classes always run later on these days, you couldn’t wait to go home after this call. “You’re my fr- boyfriend, I’ll always have your back.”
“You done for the day?” Daisuke asks absentmindedly.
“Yeah.”
“Come over?”
“Sure.”
…
“Thank you so much for helping Daisuke,” His mother gushed with a stressed smile. “You’re such a good influence for him. I couldn’t ask for a better partner for my son.”
“O-oh, of course,” You stammered, feeling flustered at the compliments. “He means a lot to me, I’m glad I could help.” Nodding at her politely, you walked past, heading towards Daisuke’s room. Knocking on the door, you heard his cheerful voice tell you to come in. Entering, you set your backpack by the door, plopping yourself on his bed.
“How were classes?” Daisuke asks, glancing at you from over his gameboy.
“It was fine,” You shrugged, stretching out to relieve some stress. “Nothing new.”
“Hmm,” He hummed in acknowledgement, beating the level he was on before turning the device off. “Wanna sleep over?”
“Sure,” You nodded, and Daisuke plopped himself on top of you. Ever since you started dating he had become incredibly more touchy, always touching you in some way, whether it be holding pinkies or laying on top of each other like a weighted blanket. You didn’t mind though, it was comforting, and you were a bit clingy too so at least it was mutual. Like clockwork, your hands started to run through his hair causing him to release a pleased sigh.
“Should we watch a movie?” You asked, glancing over to his stack of dvds.
“But you’re so comfy,” Daisuke whined, snuggling further into your chest.
You let out an exaggerated sigh, but made no attempt to move, instead changing the topic, “When do you start your job?”
“In a few weeks,” He mumbled. “ ‘m kinda nervous about starting a serious job, but it's better than the alternative.”
“You’ll do great,” You tried to comfort. “I just know it.”
“I think you're biased,” He grumbles, tilting his head up to make eye contact.
“Maybe just a bit,” You smiled, pinching his cheek lightly. “But I’d be a shitty partner if I didn’t encourage you.” Daisuke watched you fondly, he’s not sure what he did to deserve someone like you.
As you both laid in his bed, soaking in the other's presence, everything was alright. Neither of you know just how much of a bullet Daisuke had missed, the ship he was fated to join if he were to work at Pony Express had gone missing. When the news broke, the both of you couldn’t help but be horrified. What if that was the ship he joined? Not to mention the news of Pony Express going bankrupt, if Daisuke went as an intern it wouldn’t have gone far.
Daisuke and his mother were even more grateful that you managed to find him a different job. Even if he didn’t enjoy it, it was better than whatever happened to the ill fated crew of the Tulpar.

Pretty When You Cry | sub!Spencer Reid x Reader
MASTERLIST
18+ MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Summary: You hear Spencer crying after he'd overheard you joke about him with Derek. You better check in on him, right? Except he's definitely not crying. You find him in a... compromising situation. But he's not crying. You better rectify that.
Contents: NO Y/N, sub!Spencer, dom!Reader, fem!Reader, BAU!reader, co-workers, smut, unprotected sex, penetrative sex (p in v), creampie, orgasm delay, orgasm denial, dacryphilia, praise kink, overuse of 'good boy', If I missed any warnings please tell me!
2.7K words
"I bet he keeps his socks on," you joked, stealing a piece of candy from Derek and popping it in your mouth. He threw his head back in a hearty chuckle.
"Or he takes only one off. Whichever one fits the vibe stays, since he's always mismatching." Derek added. He was about to continue, but you cut him off with a panicked look, spotting Spencer with a frown on his face.
"If you guys wanted to know whether I keep my socks on, you could've just asked. There's no need to speculate and joke about my sex life behind my back. But I guess that's what pricks do." Spencer stomped to his desk, not making any eye contact.
"No need to get so worked up over it, Reid. You should really take that edge off, somehow. You can whine either way." You continued chewing on the tough candy, taking another one from Morgan and throwing it in Spencer's direction when he didn't reply.
"Yeah, Pretty Boy. When's the last time you got laid?" Derek raised an eyebrow. Spencer visibly tensed before pushing himself away from his desk and walking off.
Convinced you'd upset him, you told Derek you'd go after him. Derek shrugged, saying he was heading home.
You nearly collided with Hotch as he was leaving his office, clearly headed home.
"Don't stay too late, there's a lot of catching up to do that can wait until tomorrow morning," he mentioned before walking to the elevator.
You knocked on Rossi's door, entering when he answered. "Hey, did you see where Reid went? I think I might've upset him," you cringed.
"I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do that could possibly upset the kid. But he walked down the hall to the left from what I saw." Rossi clasped his hands together.
"Thanks, Rossi. You're a lifesaver."
You bid him goodbye before following his directions down the hall. You heard soft noises from one of the empty offices near the end of the long, winding hallway. It sounded like... Spencer?
Was he crying? You hadn't thought he was that upset.
You creaked the door open as silently as humanly possible, ready to console him and apologize for your teasing.
You couldn't see him clearly, the light from the hallway polluting your vision into the dimly lit office. But you could hear him. God, could you hear him.
The soft whines emitting from his throat drowned out the barely audible noise of his slick hand sliding over his hard length.
Your heart rate skyrocketed. Spencer's touching himself. You felt a wicked smile creep upon your lips.
You listened in on him a little longer, determining whether you were daydreaming or if the universe was really throwing this situation in your lap.
His soft whines turned into pleas. It was obvious this wasn't the first time for his current fantasy. It seemed played out.
You knew it was your lucky day when a begging whisper of your name fell off his lips. Oh, this was going to be fun.
Your hand crept through the gap of the door, hand blindly seeking the light switch. You found it but didn't yet turn it on.
You heard him get closer to the edge, exactly where you wanted him. When the noises of his hand sped up, desperately so, you made your move.
You slammed the door open and turned on the bright, white light simultaneously. Spencer jumped to gather himself, wide eyes meeting your own.
"What are you doing, Spencer?" Your tone was mocking. You already knew the answer, and Spencer had never felt more caught. His breath was haggard, eyes glazed over, lips pouting. He looked like a little puppy.
"I'm- I was just- Uh-" Spencer stammered. You gave him a condescending smile.
"I- Uh- I- You what, Spencer?" You finally walked into the room, closing the door behind you. You took slow steps towards the leather couch.
Spencer was frozen. You never called him by his first name. He'd managed to haphazardly tuck himself back into his pants, but a small wet spot was already forming on the front. He'd been so close.
He refused to look at you, choosing to stare at his lap, where his hands were unsubtly crossed over his crotch. You examined him for a second before taking his chin in your hand, squeezing his cheeks slightly. You turned his face upwards, forcing him to meet your eyes.
"Answer my question, Spencer," you demanded. He looked up at you through damp lashes. He'd really worked up a sweat.
He made a couple desperate noises but couldn't utter a coherent sentence. You raised your eyebrows. A constricted sigh left him as he looked at you in desperation.
"What's the matter, baby? You usually have so much to say. Don't you have an answer for me, boy genius?" You pouted sarcastically. Your grip on his chin tightened.
"I-" Spencer's eyes glazed over.
"-was touching myself? Yeah, I gathered as much," you finished for him. You turned his face, examining it from every angle as you slowly brought your foot up to his crotch.
"Move your hands, Pretty Boy," you demanded, pressing your foot against them. Spencer's eyes squeezed shut, slowly moving his hands. You chuckled darkly as you felt up his length.
You tossed his head to the side and pushed on his shoulder, making him fall back against the couch. You slowly moved your legs to either side of his, straddling him. You moved your hips experimentally, purposely grinding against his clothed cock for good measure.
His hands reached for your waist, but you grabbed his wrists before he could. "No touching. Sit on them if you think you can't stop yourself."
Spencer moved quickly, tucking his hands under his thighs. You ran your fingers over the side of his face. He really was pretty. You stroked a finger between his eyebrows in an attempt to iron out the crease. His face and entire body were tense with anticipation.
You ground your hips agonizingly slow. Your sluggish movement was obviously not enough for the whimpering man under you, but he knew better than to do anything about it.
You would've continued your teasing longer, but you knew he'd been close to coming seconds before you barged in. You felt the wet spot on his slacks grow larger with the movement. He trashed, uncertainty written on his face. He had to touch you, had to move, had to do something, but he couldn't.
"Please," Spencer uttered the magic word you'd been waiting for. You smiled and got off his lap, getting on your knees in front of the couch.
You reached for his belt and undid it, all while your eyes never left his. You slowly tugged the slacks down, along with his boxers. His cock bounced free instantly, throbbing and red. Spencer clenched his eyes shut at the sensation.
"Nu-uh, Spence. Look at me. Don't you want to be a good boy?" Your fingers wrapped around his shaft menacingly.
"Yes! Yes, please. Want to be a good boy for you. Only you. Please," he begged.
You smiled in satisfaction as you gave him a squeeze. Spencer threw his head back at the sensation, only to push it back and meet your eyes like you'd enforced.
You moved forward and leaned over his lap, bringing the tip of his weeping dick to your mouth. You gave the slit a kittenish lick, collecting some pre-cum on your tongue.
You saw Spencer breathe heavily, trying to contain himself. He bit his lip, attempting to suppress any noise, but failing miserably.
You never took him into your mouth fully, only licking around the tip and squeezing his shaft every so often.
"So good for me, Spence. You're gonna have to be quiet, though. Rossi's still here, and you know what a gossip he is," You stroked him as you spoke. You sped up your pace, enjoying seeing him try to stay quiet.
His legs twitched, and you knew he was getting close. You quickly pulled your hand off him and got up off the floor. A loud groan left him at the loss of sensation, hips shooting up off the couch.
The sound of his frantic breaths was like music to your ears.
You moved to stand over him, tugging at the hem of his sweater vest.
"C'mon, baby. Hands up," you urged, pulling the fabric over his head. You reached for his tie, undoing it and setting it aside for later.
"Take your shirt off," you commanded, stepping back to watch the show. Spencer removed his hands from where he sat on them, watching you as he struggled to unbutton the shirt. You leaned against the desk nonchalantly, admiring your fingernails.
He nearly sobbed in despair, shaking hands unable to undo the buttons. You liked him like this; helpless and desperate. You laughed at him, eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he finally got the last button opened. He hastily rid himself of the shirt and searched your face for approval.
"Hmm, good job, baby. Now, put those hands back where they came from. Remember, no touching," you reminded him. He tucked them back under his legs, and you pet his hair in approval before reaching for where you'd placed his tie.
"Say 'Ah'," you motioned for him to copy you. He hesitantly opened his mouth. You raised an eyebrow, and he quickly opened it further. You placed the fabric of his tie in his mouth, tying it behind his head. He gurgled a little, struggling to give the makeshift gag a place.
You got back on his lap, putting a hand in his hair and tugging at the roots. Spencer yelped but clearly liked the pain, eyes dilating. You moved his head backwards, exposing his neck for you. You placed a few kisses on his jaw, before moving down to his neck. You sucked several spots before finding the sweet spot that had him whimpering once again. His hands shot up from under his thighs, reaching for your ass.
You removed your mouth from his neck, yanking at his hair. "Did I give you permission to touch me?"
Spencer shook his head aggressively.
"Words, baby."
"N-no, ma'am," he stuttered. You smirked. Ma'am, huh? You liked the sound of that.
"Good boy," you whispered in his ear. His hips ground upwards, desperate for attention. You decided you were done toying with him. You were glad you'd worn a somewhat loose skirt to work that day.
You reached between your thighs, pulling your underwear aside. You lined yourself up, steadying yourself with one hand on Spencer's shoulder, the other on his cock.
You sunk down, only slipping the tip inside before stopping. Your legs were going to kill you tomorrow, holding up your weight above his length, but it was worth it for the tears welling up in Spencer's eyes.
"You're gonna cry?" You mocked, hand returning to grip his chin and squish his cheeks. He tried to keep it in, but the second you sunk down, fully sheathing him inside, the tears spilt, rolling down his cheeks.
"You're so pretty when you cry, Spencer. My gorgeous little crybaby," You admitted. You lifted your hips, pushing them back down against his harshly. More tears ran down his face.
"Shh, baby. Filling me up so nicely. Such a good boy for me." You assured him, setting a slow pace and bouncing on his cock.
"Please, faster. Just a little, please," Spencer pleaded through the gag, almost unintelligibly. You pretended to think it over.
"No, I don't think I will," you decided. It was mean. He begged you so nicely. A sob wrecked his throat. There it is.
He convulsed in a mixture of pleasure and desperation, hips snapping up to meet yours.
"Please, oh my God, Please!" It was like the only words left in his vocabulary were ones to beg for you. He sounded angelic.
You barely increased your speed, but Spencer went berserk over it. You brought a hand to his face, wiping away the tears and looking into his eyes.
"Such a good boy, so pretty. You're so good for me, Spencer," you babbled, losing your grip on the situation. He was hitting the right spot inside you over and over again.
You closed your eyes in pleasure, frantically sliding on his dick. "Fuck, Spencer," a breathy moan escaped you.
A newfound, frenzied whine reached your ears. You opened your eyes to look at Spencer, who seemed to calm at the eye contact. He wanted to watch you, make sure he was being good.
"M-more, Fu-more, Pl-please," Spencer stuttered. He could barely get the words out over the gag and pleasure soaring through his veins.
You obeyed, bringing your hands back to his hair and tugging harshly. You leaned forward to whisper in his ear, taking the tie out of his mouth. "You can touch me, now. Touch me, Spencer. Make me come. Make me come like a good boy."
Spencer groaned loudly at the words, hands immediately moving to your waist. His hips started moving uncontrollably, desperately chasing his release.
You tugged at his hair in warning. "I said make me come, baby. I didn't say you could."
His eyes widened, and he quickly moved his hands between your bodies, seeking eye contact to ask for permission. You nodded wildly, growing more desperate for your own release.
His fingers made quick work of finding your clit, rubbing ferociously. The sensation sent you reeling, moaning loudly in his ear. A particularly sharp thrust nearly made you scream, tightening your grip on his gorgeous locks. "Shit, Spencer! Fuck, so good. So fucking good, baby. So big inside of me."
You could feel Spencer was nearing his release again. This time, you had no intention to stop him, but he didn't know that. He was still frantically trying to tip you over the edge and succeeding. You felt the knot in your stomach tighten, losing your grip on his hair and falling forward against his naked chest. Your hands found leverage on the couch, digging your nails in the leather as Spencer continued fucking up into you.
"Please, can I come? Please, let me come with you. 've been a good boy, right?" Spencer begged. His desperate whines sounded so good, incoherent mumbles of "Oh my God" and "Please" repeatedly falling off his lips.
"Yes, you can come for me, Spencer. Come with me. Make me come on your cock," you encouraged.
Spencer snapped, no longer caring if anybody heard him. His whines and moans were getting higher in pitch and shorter in frequency, mirroring your own.
"F-feel so good around me. So tight. So good. Gonna come, g- gonna," Spencer's hips stuttered, thick length throbbing as he pushed it deep inside one last time.
"Fuck, Spencer!"
"Oh my God, oh my God, f-fuck," Spencer was unusually vulgar as he coated your walls. You sat down on his cock for a minute, gathering your breath and wiping the tears and other fluids from Spencer's face.
You pushed a strand of hair away from his eyes and smiled timidly at him. "Hi."
Spencer laughed a little and smiled back, breath still irregular. "Hi, yourself."
"You good? I didn't go too far? I'm sorry for springing that on you, Reid. I didn't mean to make you cry." You ran your hands over his chest.
"No! It was perfect. I loved it. T'was just really intense, you know?" He reassured you. "And please, we're past the last name basis now, don't you think?" You nodded and smiled, admiring his face for a second longer before carefully sliding yourself off him.
Spencer winced, incredibly sensitive. Your sadistic side bubbled to the surface, if only for a split second, and gave his overstimulated cock a couple of tugs. He trashed against your touch, loud, pained wails falling from his lips. You let him go, walking to the desk and grabbing a couple of tissues to clean yourself up.
"Sorry, I couldn't help myself," you smirked. Spencer's chest was heaving, but there was a satisfied smile on his face.
"I guess you do have your answer now. I still have my socks on."

Okay hear me out on this for the one and Only Emperor Caracalla. If you like this one- I might get confident enough to send another request for Emperor Geta lol. I didn’t see a rules- sorry -so if this goes against any just ignore this message lol.
Okay so I’m thinking you could do a fic or two of Caracalla with a motherly reader. Whether they’re a maid, concubine, etc. They just adore him “my sweet boy” and such. Sorry if this sucked LOLOL
‘Motherly love.’
I loved this request! Sadly I didn’t see it straight away, but it’s a great idea!!
Notes: sorry if this is horrible I was in a rush! Also about the other series I’m working on the 3rd chap just been a busy January!
Mother!Reader & Caracalla (not romantic)
Cybele= Roman god of motherhood
……..
Emperor Caracalla was only nineteen when he took the throne alongside his twin brother, they were both immature and unfit to govern the Roman Empire. Yet somehow two years in Emperor Caracalla and Emperor Geta remained on the throne, sure Rome was starving and the wars were never over but he still held the power in his hands.
People thought he was ruthless, a real human being could never see the suffering on the streets and continue to throw banquets and parties. He must be a monster with a stone-cold heart… yet in the palace, many workers knew the truth. One in particular knew nearly everything about him if anything minorly or majorly impacted his life she would be the first to know.
“Cybele, Cybele!” Caracalla called out into the open space that was the fountain. She was washing sheets in the fountain, it was her duty as an assistant nurse to wash the bedsheets of the care beds. “Emperor, I wished you reframe from calling me that. It is disrespectful to Cybele.”
Caracalla's eyes found her and he started to make his way over towards the fountain. “Ah, but you are the goddess herself to me.” Caracalla flashes his golden tooth with a grin. “I am not yet a mother.”
“By blood no, but by your actions, they say otherwise.” Caracalla twisted his head a bit, she nodded her head while reaching into the water and twisting the sheets around. “Why did you come down to the servant's area? Did you have something to say?”
“Oh yes.” Caracalla eyes light up, “I thought Dungdus a new trick!” Caracalla whistled for the monkey and she came flying down the stairs. Caracalla patted his shoulder and the monkey climbed up, he then stuck out his arm and Dundgus climbed out. The brown monkey hung upside down on his arm for a few seconds, before jumping off.
“Oh, that was delightful.” She made sure to clap and smile, and he highlighted her comments. “You think so?” He stepped closer, “yes of course.”
Caracalla grinned from ear to ear, he sat down on the side of the fountain letting Dungdus run around the servants’ area. “I can teach her more tricks if you like?” Caracalla mused, which made her shake her head. “Only teach her trick if you want to, you don’t need to impress me.”
Caracalla's eyes went away from her face and he fidgeted with his shelve. “I- I don’t want to impress you…” He didn’t want to admit it, she felt her heartstrings tug. She dropped the bedsheets she was holding and cupped his cheek with her palm. “Oh my sweet boy it’s okay.”
Her voice was like honey, it smoothed him while sick in the head. Many times her voice was one of comfort when he had to visit the nurse, she sat by his side whispering things of comfort to help him through his mental anguish.
He nuzzled into her palm, as he whispered, “Geta tired to embarrass me infront of the senate today.” He would normally complain about Geta, his mind would twist the things that Geta did to protect him into horrible acts of envy. “What did he say?” She asked.
“He said that he should be the one to look over the spending of the army, but we both agreed that would be my job.” Caracalla said with his voice laced in spite. “Your bother can-“ “and when a senator implied that I was useless he didn’t even stand up for me!” Caracalla cut her off with more angrily whispering.
She wave him a dry look, “Caracalla.”
“It’s so unfair-“ “Caracalla.” “he always does this!” “Caracalla.” “I know he’s going to-“ “CARACALLA.”
She raised her voice which made him wide eyed and tensed his shoulders. He was so caught off guard by her yelling, he was used to Geta or the crowd at a game yelling but a servant wasn’t supposed to yell at him. Specially not you.
“I’m sorry you interrupted me, we talked about this before.” The maid said and rubbed his cheek trying to ease him out of his shock. She didn’t mean to yell at him, just hated when he never listened to reason.
“You- you yelled at me…” Caracalla choked, his eyes watered a bit as the shock wore off. “Shsh, I’m sorry.” He pulled away from her hand, as she tried to move it closer. It wasn’t like him to move away from touch, “Caracalla please.”
Caracalla feet tapped the group, his eyes switched back from the fountain to the palace. His head was spinning, he tried to push himself off the little wall he was sitting on to keep the water in before her hand held his wrist. “Caracalla listen to me.”
“I did not mean to yell, you did not mean to interrupt me. It was a miss understanding.” She breathed out but he looked away from her eyes trying to figure out if he should believe her words. “I- I…”
She got up quickly allowing the basket to dump into the fountain. She would deal with that later, she pulled him so he was turn around. He looked a bit terrified by the fact he was dragged back to her but she wrapped her arms around him.
It took him a second, his eyes still wide and wet, his hair messed up and his palms were shaky but he melted into her grip. He nearly let his hold body fall, it was slightly scary for her to hold up his body weight but she was just glad that he forgave her.
“My sweet boy.” She held him tight, “I’m so sorry,”

a/n: so uhm i didn’t have a good day when i wrote this and i hope you guys can’t notice it fjsdafjsa anyway, why is sub!joon the hottest thing ever? i might need to take a walk tbfh
You didn’t have the best day. One of your co-workers is a jealous, passive aggressive woman and she more often than not pisses you off. Today was such a day. If you weren’t so civilised, you would call her the rudest names. But you are civilised and so you are left brooding in your own soup of annoyance.
Still boiling in it, you call out for your long-term partner as you take off your outdoor clothes.
“Baby, I’m home!”
“Living room!”
The sound of his voice already cheers you up a lot. You cannot wait to see him and tell him all about this annoying human. You leave your bag on the dresser in the hallways, washing your hands in the toilet sink as you pass it on your way to Namjoon.
Once finally cleaned of the day and the dirty outside, you hurry straight to your love. He has some jazz music playing quietly and scented candles burning.
Like on most days, Namjoon relaxes on the couch with a book in his hands. He looks at you over the brim of his glasses. His dark hair is styled into a handsome side-part today and he is wearing an ivory jumper with baggy jeans.
“Oh no, was she being annoying again?” he asks, lowering the book.
“Is it that obvious?”
“To me it is.” He puts the book aside and opens his arms. “Tell me everything.”
“She is so fucking annoying, you have no idea. I could actually just punch her one day. Maybe I’ll do it…”, you begin ranting, settling into his arms.
Namjoon listens to you intently, talking whenever necessary and reacting in shock or disgust whenever it is appropriate. By the time you are finally finished, you feel lighter in your chest.
You rest your head on his strong chest, caressing his stomach gently. The music sways you into a state of tranquillity, his loving touches do the rest. His pulse is so relaxing to listen to, making you forget all about your day. He also smells so good.
“This just helped me so intensely, you have no idea”, you whisper into the silence.
“That’s good to hear”, he says, kissing the crown of your head. His voice is so, so, so nice to listen to when you have your ear against his chest. He is like your very own relaxation helper.
“And what about you? How was your day? I came home and started yapping”, you say, craning your neck to look at his face.
“That’s alright. I’m always here to listen. I had a good day. I drove my bike along Han River, went to an exhibition and then read. I’ve been lost in this book ever since I came home.”
You chuckle, “that sounds like a perfect day for you. I’m happy to hear that you had a good day.”
He leans in to kiss your lips. You kiss him back with a smile. You end the affection with a soft rub to his cheek, gazing at him.
“My day’s good too now that I’m home. You’re so handsome, my darling.”
He smiles with his eyes, “you’re beautiful too, darling. I love this skirt on you.”
“Yeah? I kinda regret wearing it.”
“Why?”
“The shoes I wore to it were uncomfortable. My feet are aching like crazy. Urgh, I need to throw out these damned shoes. They’re always making my feet hurt.”
“Should I take care of it?”
“What? Throwing out my shoes?”
“No. Giving you a massage.”
You grin, “is it gonna end in you begging me to step on you again?”
He laughs deeply, “in my defence, it’s not my fault that you have sexy feet. And that was one time.”
“Lies. You almost do this every time you massage my feet.”
“Yeah, well…” he doesn’t know what to say to that, looking caught in a lie.
You chuckle, “you’re lucky that you’re so cute. Otherwise I would curse at you for being a horndog.”
He lowers his eyes shyly, showing off his dimples in a big grin. You tilt his head back up, making him look at you. His eyes carry a certain sparkle in them, which they only get when he is with you. It is devoted and submissive.
“Yes, you can massage my feet. Including all the consequences. If you insinuated what I’m thinking you did.”
Namjoon gulps, licking his lips after. He nods his head, whispering his words. “Yeah, I was insinuating that.”
“Good, then get on with it”, you taunt, kissing his lips.
Namjoon kisses you back with a soft moan, sitting up for it to get closer to you. You allow him the heaven for a little while before breaking away. He whines softly, chasing you but you don’t allow him more. This is exactly what you wanted to happen. Give him a taste of paradise only to break away and make him hungry for more.
“Go on, be a good boy”, you order.
“Yes, ma’am”, he says and stumbles off the couch to get the oil.
Today will not be the first time Namjoon massages your feet and it is definitely not the first time you make something sexy out of it. Your teasing was not just teasing, it was the truth. There were many occasions where you and he ended up having sex from a foot massage. Sometimes it ends in him wanting to be stepped on while you call him your needy slut. Sometimes it ends in him kissing your feet and promising his undivided devotion forever. And sometimes it ends in you jerking him off with your feet until he releases all over you.
It is so much fun to do and it is a fairly new kink you and he discovered.
The awesome thing about being long-term partners is that you are with each other when you change and rediscover yourselves. Namjoon didn’t always have a kink for feet, neither did you. It is a recent discovery you made together one night. Namjoon was kneeling in front of you, begging to eat your pussy, when you decided to trace his cock with your foot. It turned him on so much, which turned you on in return. You and he haven’t been the same ever since, including the kink in your sex life from time to time.
You can’t wait to feel it tonight. And Namjoon seems to share your feelings as he almost stumbles over his own feet when he hurries back to you.
“Careful, don’t break something now.”
“I’m so excited, you have no idea.”
“I can’t tell at all”, you tease sarcastically.
He falls to his knees in front of you, fumbling to open the oil bottle.
“Aren’t you forgetting something?”
“Hm?”
You lift your right foot and place it against his chest. Namjoon inhales sharply, having to gulp as you dance your foot down his torso.
“I’m still wearing my stockings.”
“Oh? Right. Sorry.”
He takes them off carefully, folding them neatly before placing them to the side.
You put one of your feet on his thigh and the other you rub on his chest again.
“Now get to work.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Namjoon finally opens the oil bottle, pouring some of it into the palm of his hands. He rubs them together, warming the oil this way. Once he seems happy with it, he meets your eyes.
You instantly understand, placing your foot into his hands. You relax back, lowering your lids halfway in a playful yet tranquil manner.
Namjoon instantly gets to work, moving his skilled fingers along the aches and tensions in your foot. He wants to do a good job. It might end in sex later, but Namjoon will be damned if he didn’t make sure that your feet actually stopped aching. This is supposed to help you first and be something sexy second.
“That’s amazing, Joonie. You’re doing such a good job”, you praise.
“Is there a spot which hurts most?”
“Just the middle of my sole. It feels so sore.”
Namjoon glides his fingers to it and tries to relax it with eager circles and pressure.
“Yes, right there. Mhhhhm so good”, you gush, closing your eyes and rolling your head back.
Namjoon shifts a little because of your reaction. The noises you make are so sexy to him. He knows not to act up yet however, working hard to relax your foot instead.
Once he is done with your right foot, he repeats what he did on your left foot. He spreads the oil first, starting off on your ankles and making his way to your toes. He lingers on the spots which seem sore and tense, helping you to complete relaxation like this.
“Ma’am?”
“Are you finished?”
“Yes, I-”
“No, you’re not. Massage my calves as well”, you order and put your feet on his thighs, dangerously close to his cock.
Namjoon inhales sharply, watching with a dizzy head how you smirk to yourself. He gulps. You are doing this on purpose.
“Yes, ma'am”, he croaks. He covers his hands in more oil and begins the massage.
“There we go, such a good boy”, you purr, parting your legs.
You make him dizzy. Everything about this is starting to turn him on. Your praise, your voice, your open legs and your feet on his thighs. Judging by the faint smirk still present on your lips, this stopped being innocent relaxation for you as well.
He is allowed to be turned on by it. Namjoon cannot control the voices anymore and so he lowers his head to your inner thigh to kiss you in devotion.
“Huh?” you gasp and lift your head. A chuckle leaves you. “Now, what are you doing here?”
Namjoon lifts his head, grasping your ankles desperately.
“I can’t think straight anymore. Please I…please.”
The smirk grows, your eyes flicker playfully. You straighten up.
“Then take off your pants, will you?”
“Yes ma’am. Thank you ma’am”, he stutters and gets out of them, working as quickly as possible to slip out of his jeans.
He stands up for it but instantly falls to his knees again once bared. You wave him closer with a wiggle of your finger.
“There we go. Look at how hard you already are”, you taunt, rubbing your feet up and down his thighs.
His cock twitches each time you come close to it.
“Please.”
His begs satisfy you and so you lift your feet to fulfil his wish.
You put them on each side of his cock, meeting his eyes. He is breathing so heavily, pupils widened.
“Go ahead now, cover them in oil.”
“Yes, ma’am”, Namjoon obeys, biting his lower lip at the feeling of oil trickling down his cock. It is so cold in comparison to your warm soles.
You begin moving as he still pours the oil, forcing him to twitch and accidentally spill more than necessary.
“What a needy boy. That’s enough”, you say, chuckling fondly.
Namjoon places the bottle aside and instantly grips the rug, rolling his head back. A deep moan slips off his tongue, letting you know just how good it feels for him.
It feels amazing for you as well. His cock is really hot to the touch, a clear indicator of his desperation. It is also so soft and fragile. One wrong movement and you could squeeze him painfully. The power you have over him and the trust he puts into you is making you delirious. You switch your eyes between his blissed out face and the view of your feet.
The oil made them messy and allows them to glisten in the candle light. Each time you move them down to his base, his flushed cockhead appears between them, looking wetter and wetter each time you do.
You can’t do a lot of variations of the movement because the position limits it, but that’s alright for you. This is the perfect way to jerk off his cock. You can see everything. His meaty thighs tensing and twitching each time you rub your feet on his tip, his stomach and chest flexing and flinching each time you drag your feet down his veiny shaft and his blissed out face changing and contorting in pleasure.
“You look so handsome like this, darling. Kneeling for me is really your best look”, you coo, rubbing your feet back and forth on his tip. You can squeeze it gently like this, watching in delight how it moves between your feet.
Namjoon answers you with the sweetest moans, arching his back as best as possible. He loves it when he kneels for you. Everything about it is perfect to him. The loss of power, how small he suddenly is, the fact that he can look up at you and that you look down at him in return, the total surrender of control. He is completely and totally in the palms of your hands when he kneels and there is nothing sweeter to him. Although, palms of your hands might be wrong choice of words today. He is very much in the soles of your feet and it makes him want to pray to your name.
Maybe he does. Maybe he moans your name with such submission that you have to moan as well.
“Why are you praying to my name like that, mhm? Is it the kneeling or how I’m playing with your pretty cock?” you taunt, applying a little more pressure just to tease.
“Both”, Namjoon croaks, leaking all over your toes. It is so warm and slick, making it easier to please him.
“Both, I see. You’re such a needy boy then, aren’t you?”
“Yes, needy. Your needy boy.”
“My needy boy?”
Namjoon nods his head vigorously, bucking his hips up against his will. He keeps doing it, chasing the pleasure your feet give him. You let him, watching him with widened eyes and a tingling stomach.
“I see. My needy boy.”
“___”, Namjoon croaks, thighs trembling especially aggressively.
He rolls his head to the front and opens his eyes, instantly moaning loudly at the view. He knew that it would look sexy, because it feels so good, but it’s better than he imagined it to be. Your feet are so wet and oily and beautiful and perfect and beautiful and… his brain keeps repeating the same words, going foggy at the same time. The movements are suddenly so much more clearer to feel, seeping into his fibres deeper than before. He twists the rug as best as possible and moves his hips with more vigour.
“Does this feel good to you, darling?”
“Yes, so good. It’s insane”, he moans, following it up with the sweetest noises.
You match his sounds, keeping your feet still to allow him movement. He is chasing his orgasm. You know that he is because of how eager his hips twitch into your hold. He is basically rutting into you, using your slippery feet for pleasure. His dark hair hangs messily into his face and his glasses slipped down the slope of his button nose. He must be really hot in his jumper because his neck is slightly sweaty and his tanned skin flushed.
The part most flushed however is his cock. Hard and throbbing and so, so red it leaks just for you. And that means something with Namjoon because his cock is normally a pretty tan colour as well. This is feeling really good to him for his cock to flush that much.
“I, I don’t know if can- ah uhm, woah, I can…mhmm fuck. Fuck, I don’t know”, he is stuttering, changing between rasping and whimpering the words. How wonderful he is when he loses control over his voice.
“Whenever you need to, darling. I’m right here”, you encourage him, rubbing your feet back and forth.
“Shit! ___!” he yelps, losing the fight against pleasure. He gasps, grinds his teeth and growls, cock finally spurting all over your feet in a messy, hot orgasm.
“That’s it baby, that’s it. Cum for me, such a good boy. My needy boy, cum all over my feet, you messy boy”, you talk him through it, feeling dizzy at the sexy view. This is getting you off as if you were the one having an orgasm right now.
Namjoon finishes after five aggressive thrusts of his hips, flinching back and therefore releasing his sensitive cock from your feet.
“Fuck, that was intense”, he presses out, holding your ankles. He is breathing heavily, head rolled back and mouth agape. His chest heaves up and down quickly, stretching the material of the jumper.
You kind of just enjoy the moment, gazing at him and thinking to yourself that he is the hottest man to ever exist.
“You’re a fucking goddess”, he gets out, making you chuckle.
“You’re a needy boy.”
“Mhm, I am. I bloody am”, he agrees and purrs, rolling his head to the front lazily. He gives you a tired yet happy smile, lifting your feet to his lips afterwards to lick the cum off them.
“What the heck? Oh my god, that’s hot”, you gasp, dropping into the pillow naturally. He made you lose balance, but you don’t mind. What he is doing right now is the hottest thing he ever did.
Namjoon purrs and slurps happily until your feet are squeaky clean. His hunger still remains however and so he puts your legs on his shoulders and licks sloppy paths up your inner thighs. Your breath speeds up more and more the closer to your pussy he gets.
He disappears under your skirt. Your knees are now bending over his back.
“My goddess”, he lulls, tugging your panties to the side and connecting his tongue with your wet pussy.
“Joon!” you yelp, arching your back. “Holy fuck!”
Namjoon purrs, thanking you for the pleasure with skilled laps of his tongue. He would never dare to take an orgasm from you without giving you one in return. You are his everything, the reason why he breathes. Your pleasure is so important to him that it would feel wrong not to eat you out right now. You are so wet and soft and swollen. Just imaging that he could have left you in such a state makes Namjoon angry. He pulls you closer with his strong arms wrapped around your thighs, using his plumb lips to rub your sensitive pussy.
“Wow, what the fuck?” you get out, squirming from side to side and arching your back. You do these two movements alternatively, unable to decide on which one you love more.
You won’t last long anymore, but that was never your goal. You want to fucking orgasm like he wanted his’. The day was long, it was stressful and annoying and this orgasm would make all of it go away. There is no better way than to truly leave the day behind than climaxing on Namjoon’s skilled tongue.
And you do, oh you fucking do.
“I’m cumming, darling”, you moan, feeding him your orgasm a second later.
Namjoon eats it up happily, moaning with you and keeping his tongue still so you could hump his face until you are satisfied.
“Fuck, this was perfect. God, come here you.”
You pull him from under your skirt after your high died down, kissing him messily and giggling when he falls atop of you clumsily. His glasses are fogged up and tilted to the side, his hair is a mess and his puffy lips taste like you. This is perfect. Everything about this is perfect.
Namjoon would agree, melting into your embrace with a fluttering heart and a tingling stomach.
“Was nice, really nice”, he mumbles.
“Yeah, so nice”, you agree, smiling with him because it is amazing to be together.

Well... That’s Settled
Cw: none. Just fluff and eventual romance
It’s Saturday. A rare Saturday where you and your co-worker Eddie both aren’t working.
You knock on Eddie’s front door. Waiting a bit and hearing nothing. You knock again.
You hear “Coming. Shit! Fuck! Coming!! shit shit… Hold your gaddam horses” from Eddie— kinda muffled.
He opens the door with a scowl … and a glint catches your eye. A sewing needle in his mouth. He pulls the needle from between his teeth, it is trailing black thread. His scowl is softening into mild surprise.
“Oh it’s you??” He says
“It’s me. You…are... sewing ?? something?”
“Got a new patch for my vest at the show last weekend.” He holds up a black patch that says ‘Sloppy Seconds’ on it. “What’s up?”
“You said you were off today, and you could help me??? But your phone was busy… and probably I should have waited but it’s nearly eleven…”
“Nono, it’s cool, c’mon in.” He holds the screen door for you with his palm, fingers spread wide. “You are always welcome at Casa Munson. Didn’t think you’d take me up on my offer s’all.”
“But, Eddie Munson, you’re my only hope.” You did your best Leia Organa and Eddie grinned at you in acknowledgement of your effort.
“So you’re saying I’m a space wizard??” He fished for the compliment with typical cocky swagger.
“I’ve seen you use the Force on people with weak minds.” You wiggled your fingers in the air.
“When?? When have I ever done that?” He laughed.
You imitated Eddie’s midwestern accent that had that Munson Family brand Tennessee honey drizzled on it. “Golly, Officer, I didn’t think I was speeding. Oh - Keith, you said you didn’t want me to close on Tuesday, you personally want to walk the deposit to the bank, remember. Nah, you don’t need to roll to detect cursed objects right now after picking up that innocent looking pendant ...?”
“Well.. my magic doesn’t work on you, anyway.” He wryly pursed his lips.
It does though. It always does.
You watch him put the needle into a pin cushion that looked like a tomato and he laid his project aside.
He bends over the couch arm to do this and you can see the bit of un-inked skin above his gray boxers where his shirt rides up and his jeans ride low.
You can see the nice curve of his butt where one of the pockets is torn and his boxers show there too and you wish to hell he wanted you back.
You sigh. That would be so nice.
He stands and looks at you with his eyebrows raised in query. “What??”
So you change the subject. “Why don’t you put patches on your jeans? They are rapidly becoming more hole than fabric. Denim isn’t supposed to be... lace.”
He grins again. “That’s just air conditioning for my knees. S’very practical.”
“Including the hole on your left ass cheek - that’s for air circulation too, is it?”
His eyes widened. He runs his hand down his butt, fingers dipping into the hole. “Shiiiiit, why didn’t anyone tell me??”
“Presumably because we were all enjoying it?” You suggested playfully.
His eyes snap to yours. “Enjoying what? Me, looking like a total dork??”
“It’s called deshibile - it’s very fashionable.”
“What are you even talking about?? You're so... aggravating sometimes, I swear to gawd!” Eddie jogs down the hallway and you follow. He tries to get a good look in the mirror by his custom Warlock - she’s so pretty - but he calls her ‘Sweetheart’ - lucky tart. “ How long were these jeans ripped to hell on my ass??!! I only have two pairs - so - you saw!! You totally saw this yesterday and you didn’t even say....”
“Your boxers are keeping you decent - you just have a ripped pocket. It’s fine - You look fine. Why do you care? Keith doesn’t care about ripped pants - like - you wear shoes to work... so you are one up on Argyle with the flip flops. Now if you went commando, that might be a problem.”
He is running his hands through his hair. “I can’t afford more jeans right now... fuuuuuuck.”
“You have sewing supplies right here - You just need another patch, Eddie - from older jeans or an old t-shirt... it would barely show - until our next pay day and then we could go thrifting together? If you want?”
“Yeah.... yeah... sorry - just went to that concert and I shouldn’t have because we needed a plumber last week and money’s tight.”
You nodded. Money is always tight. The job pays you both very little. You know why you stay (to see Eddie) - but you don’t know why Eddie doesn’t get a better job.
“Hey - I’m sorry, I said you were ‘aggravating’, man, I-I didn't mean it - I mean, you do Drive Me Insane, but I guess I kinda like it... how we joke around.” Eddie leaned his forehead into the mirror - closed his eyes. “You’re a good friend, you know?? And... and I promised to help you out. But, I kinda forget what with??”
“Because I didn’t say. Because it’s a secret.”
“Oh! Covert mission, huh?” Eddie turned with - well it wasn’t elegance but it was beautiful just the same. He clapped his large hands together and rubbed them up and down with glee. “What are we up to?”
“I’m making a mix tape. For a guy I like. And I know you have the perfect set up to record on.”
“For a guy??”
“Yeah - I’m into them - dudes - in general.” you snarked. “Girls aren’t out of the question , but I do tend to go for...”
“I know-ah. I mean. You wanna use my equipment - and my music, I assume??”
“Some of it.” You nodded at Eddie. Eddie has a great music collection.
“My stuff... To court some loser...”
“He’s not a loser. He’s perfect.”
“No guy is perfect, I guarantee you.”
“He’s handsome. He’s kind and generous. He’s funny... on purpose. He has these lips...”
“Stop - I do not want to hear about his lips. Where’d you even meet him? At...”
“You know - around Hawkins...” You cut him off before he can ask ‘at work?’ and you’d have to come up with some crazy lie.
“You sure he’s single?? Maybe he’s dating half of Hawkins?? Maybe he’s gay?” Eddie is not looking at you - he’s flipping through records in a milk crate.
“Maybe he is all of those things - or he’s not into me at all - or maybe he’s not into anyone - that’s why I’m making the mix. I can tell him I like him in the j-card and in the musical subtext - if he’s not into me and can never be - we can just be friends. I’ll die a little, but that’s okay - every day we die a little more, right?”
“Morbid. But, accurate.” Eddie turned back to you. “Okay - I said I’d help you and I’ll help you - but we are making two mix tapes. One to express your interest in this guy - who probably doesn’t deserve you by the way. And one for you. Just for you. Deal?” He asks this like he’s the one convincing you of this project. Your idea - your excuse to spend time with Eddie - as much as you can finagle.
“Deal.” You go to shake on it and Eddie stops and spits in his right palm first. He checks you to see if you are grossed out. By his saliva?? No. Opposite really. “So - not a blood pact?” You kid and spit as delicately as you can into your palm - hold it out for him as brave as you can be. He grins, shakes it. You try not to think about your spit combined on your hands. Fail utterly at that.
“Okay... tell me about this Paragon of ‘Manly’ Virtue...” Eddie rolls his eyes.
“You said you didn’t want to hear about his kissable lips, his pretty eyes, his nice ass...”
“God! Stop - I didn’t know you were so fucking horny!! I meant his musical tastes.”
“He’s beautiful and I am an appreciator of his physical attributes. He’s not just a piece of meat though... he’s also got a great voice... and he’s very clever...”
“And you’re what - gonna only put really horned up slutty music on this tape and probably sleep with him immediately - you Can’t!! I mean, don’t - he might have crabs or something. You gotta be more careful.”
“He’s probably not going to like me back, but if he asks me on a date I’ll be sure to ask him point blank if he has crabs, first thing.”
“I’m just sayin’ maybe get to know him a bit before you offer your... body.”
“Okay - noted - Hmmm - ‘Horned up Slut Music’ What’s that filed under in your milk crates system ‘H’ or “S’?? Wait - did you just mean SKA?”
Eddie pushed into your shoulder with his, playfully, and was unusually quiet for a while. Picking up records and tapes and showing you song titles. Gently steering you away from anything that sounded like a Direct proposition for sex with the ‘mystery guy’.
Finally stopping you. “Now you’ve got 97 minutes of music, you’ve got to edit.”
“I thought we were making two mix tapes?’
“I’m making the second one. You have enough on your mind with mr. wonderful. When he breaks your heart you can listen to my mix and cry on my shoulder, and I’ll go kick his ass sideways.”
“I appreciate the offer, but I wouldn’t ask you to do that.” You looked down in your lap.
Eddie put two fingers under your chin and lifted your eyes to meet his. “Is he...like... is he so much better than me?” His voice broke a bit on the end.
You couldn’t speak - why wouldn’t words come out??
Eddie sounded put out but his eyes weren’t mad. “Like, other than the lips and the ass... or whatever - what’s he got that I don’t?”
You kinda... launched into his lap. You absolutely kissed him with tongue right off.
Eddie scootched like a crab into his bed - pulling you with him. Kissing you back.
“Am I a close second? You could settle for me, I’m kinda okay with that, considering the kiss you just laid on me didn’t feel like second prize.” Eddie looked so sweetly befuddled. “I do not have crabs and I’m not secretly dating anyone and I’ve been into you since day one.”
“Eddie, you are the guy.”
He blinked.
“You made me a mix?” Eddie’s pretty eyes got a twinkle in them. “But the messaging is so vague - how will I know if you are really attracted to me when you didn’t use any music to indicate a deep lust for my person.”
“You’ll just have to read the j-card.” You teased back.

A Frat Party Encounter
The night air was thick with the electric buzz of Halloween, and the frat house was alive with energy. Orange and purple lights flickered ominously around the porch, casting eerie shadows on the costumed figures spilling out of the door. Inside, the thumping bass of the music reverberated through the walls, a pulse that matched the excitement coursing through your veins.
You stepped inside, owning the room as you always did. The sexy construction worker costume you’d thrown together was a hit—tiny neon shorts, a crop top that showed off just enough, a tool belt hanging low on your hips, and a hard hat that perched playfully on your head. Eyes followed you wherever you went, and you reveled in the attention, your confidence growing with every step.
Tonight wasn’t about anything serious. You were here for fun, to dance, to drink, and to forget about the stress of school and life, if only for a few hours. You weaved through the crowd, smiling at familiar faces, sipping on your drink, and letting the music take over your body as you swayed to the beat.
But then, as you made your way toward the bar, you saw him—your ex. He was standing with a group of his friends, looking annoyingly good in his lazy attempt at a costume. Your heart skipped a beat, and you cursed yourself for still feeling something when you saw him. It wasn’t that you wanted him back—you didn’t. But there was a history there, a connection that was hard to ignore, even after everything.
He caught your eye, and for a moment, the world seemed to slow down. You could tell by the way he looked at you that he was remembering too, that he hadn’t forgotten the way things used to be. Part of you wanted to turn and walk away, to remind yourself that you were over him, that you didn’t need his attention. But another part, the part that still craved the familiar comfort of his presence, kept you rooted to the spot.
He made his way over to you, that easy, confident smile on his face that used to drive you crazy. "Hey," he said, his voice low enough that only you could hear.
"Hey," you replied, trying to keep your voice steady, nonchalant.
"You look amazing," he said, his eyes drifting over your costume. There was something in his gaze that sent a shiver down your spine, something that reminded you of why you were drawn to him in the first place.
"Thanks," you said, meeting his gaze with a level of confidence you didn’t quite feel. "You’re not looking too bad yourself."
He chuckled, and the sound was so familiar, so easy, that it was almost like old times. Almost. But you weren’t that girl anymore, and he wasn’t the guy you once thought he was. Still, there was a part of you that didn’t mind his attention, that missed the way he used to make you feel.
He moved closer, his hand brushing against your arm, and you felt that familiar spark, that undeniable chemistry that had always been there between you. "I’ve missed you," he said softly, his voice barely audible over the music.
You swallowed hard, your mind screaming at you to walk away, to not fall back into the same old pattern. But tonight was about fun, wasn’t it? It was about letting go, about doing what felt good in the moment, without worrying about tomorrow.
"Don’t," you said, shaking your head slightly. "Don’t say things you don’t mean."
"But I do mean it," he insisted, his eyes searching yours for something, anything, to hold onto.
You sighed, feeling the pull between what you knew was right and what you wanted in that fleeting moment. You knew this wouldn’t end well, knew that you were stronger than this, better than this. But as he leaned in, his lips so close to yours, you found yourself hesitating, your resolve weakening.
Maybe it was the costume, the music, or just the intoxicating atmosphere of the night, but for a moment, you let yourself forget. You let yourself lean into his touch, just for a second, just for the thrill of it. After all, you could walk away anytime you wanted. But for now, you were content to let him think he had you, even if just for a moment.
Because tonight, you were the one in control, and this time, you wouldn’t let him have any more than you were willing to give.

Late Night at the Office 🌙
Overall Energy: Knight of Wands
The office was quiet, the usual hustle and bustle of the day replaced by a stillness that only late hours could bring. The fluorescent lights cast a soft glow over the desks, and the hum of the heating system was the only sound that broke the silence. Outside, the city was alive with Halloween festivities, but you were here, focused, determined to finish the work that had piled up over the week. Your friends were probably out getting wasted, dressed in costumes and having the time of their lives. But you weren’t the type to let loose when there was work to be done. Tonight, you had one goal: to finish what you started, to prove to yourself that you could meet any deadline, no matter the sacrifice. Your curvy figure, even in your business attire, was hard to ignore. The fitted pencil skirt hugged your hips, and the blouse, though professional, accentuated your curves in a way that you never intended but couldn’t quite help. You weren’t trying to be seductive—you were simply doing your job. Yet, the way your clothes fit you, combined with the intensity you brought to your work, made you alluring without even trying. As you typed away, lost in your task, you had no idea that you weren’t alone. Your boss, who had also stayed late, was standing just outside the door to your office. He hadn’t planned on being here, but when he saw the light on in your office as he was leaving, curiosity had gotten the better of him. He knew you were dedicated, but seeing you here, working late into the night, while everyone else was out partying, made him realize just how committed you were. He stood in the shadows, watching you for a moment, his thoughts conflicted. The Knight of Wands energy hung thick in the air—an intensity that matched yours but with a different edge. He admired your work ethic, your drive, but there was something else, something that made him hesitate. You were magnetic, and even though he knew he shouldn’t, he couldn’t help but be drawn to you. The Five of Wands energy swirled within him—a struggle between what he knew was right and what he desired. He could see how focused you were, how unaware of his presence, and that only made you more captivating. Should he call out to you, make his presence known, or should he keep his distance, observing silently, his admiration hidden? You shifted in your seat, adjusting your blouse, and he caught a glimpse of the curve of your waist, the subtle movement enough to stir something in him. His heart raced as he considered his options. He could interrupt you, make some excuse about work, or he could retreat, leave you to your task, and pretend he was never there. But the pull was strong. He took a step forward, then hesitated, the internal conflict raging within him. He wasn’t sure if he was ready to blur the lines, to step into a territory that could change everything. Yet, he couldn’t deny the way you captivated him, even when you were doing nothing but working late. Finally, he decided to stay in the shadows a little longer, just to watch, just to admire. He told himself it was harmless, that he was just appreciating your dedication. But deep down, he knew it was more than that. He knew he was drawn to you in a way that wasn’t entirely professional, and that thought both excited and terrified him. So he stood there, hidden from view, his thoughts racing as he watched you work, wondering if he should take a step further or if he should walk away before he crossed a line he couldn’t uncross. And all the while, you remained blissfully unaware, focused entirely on your task, your mind far from the thoughts that consumed his. For tonight, at least, he would let you be. But the spark was there, and he knew that it wouldn’t take much for that spark to ignite into something more.

The Unforgettable Queen 💃
The club was alive, pulsating with energy as the music thumped through the walls, the bass vibrating in sync with the heartbeat of the night. Halloween had brought out the most daring costumes, but none could compare to you.
You stepped into the club, immediately commanding attention. Your costume was a masterpiece—terrifyingly beautiful. Fake blood dripped artistically down your dark, fitted dress, which clung to your curves in all the right places. Your big coily hair framed your face like a crown, bouncing with each step you took. The makeup was dark and sultry, highlighting your strong cheekbones, and your brown skin glistened under the lights, adding to the mystery. Your big boobs and bubble butt made your silhouette one to be admired, and everyone in the room noticed when you walked by.
You were the embodiment of the Queen of Pentacles—confident, grounded, and fully aware of the power you held. As you made your way through the crowd, you could feel the weight of everyone’s gaze on you. Men and women alike were captivated by your presence, some too stunned to approach, others too shy to try. You were here to own the night, to revel in the attention, and to enjoy every second of it.
But what you didn’t know was that outside of this club, a network of men was still caught in your web. Every man you’d dealt with over the past year was still under your spell, unable to shake the impact you’d made on their lives. The Knight of Swords in reverse symbolized the restless energy they felt—an unresolved tension that kept them thinking of you long after your last encounter.
Scattered across the city, some at other parties, some at home in their beds, these men couldn’t escape you. They were checking their phones, hoping for a glimpse of your night, waiting for a post, a story, something to remind them of what they had and lost. For some, sleep was impossible, their minds filled with memories of your laugh, the way you felt in their arms, the curve of your body pressed against theirs. You had become a part of them, a thought they couldn’t let go, no matter how hard they tried.
But here, in the midst of the crowd, you were blissfully unaware of the effect you still had. Tonight wasn’t about them—it was about you. You danced like no one was watching, your coily hair bouncing to the rhythm, your hips swaying seductively. The men in the club were drawn to you like moths to a flame, knowing they didn’t stand a chance but unable to resist your magnetic pull.
You were a vision—strong, confident, and unapologetically yourself. You had the brains, the beauty, and the presence that left everyone around you wanting more. You weren’t just another face in the crowd; you were the queen, ruling the night with every step you took.
As the night wore on, you continued to laugh, to move, to live fully in the moment. The men who watched you, those you didn’t even notice, were captivated, knowing they’d be thinking about you long after the night ended. To you, it was just another party, just another night to enjoy. But to them, you were unforgettable—the one they would dream about when the lights dimmed, and the music faded away.
And as the clock struck midnight, the spell you had cast over them, unknowingly and effortlessly, only grew stronger. You were their queen, the one they couldn’t forget, no matter how hard they tried.

† progress : hawks.
❥ scenario: hawks and his love life ❥ no triggers; not rated. ❥ i don't have any beta readers - you get what you get. ❥ this was a request <3
let me start off by saying i approve of the virgin hawks hc because.. i know everyone seems to think all the cool dudes get laid constantly - but hawks has a brain, things he can't let get compromised, is basically government property and well, probably has better things to do. i find it amusing. ( same with dabi because.. well- we won't go there. )
ANYWAY.
let's start off with the type of person who is going to catch his attention. he's going to be attracted to someone who's confident and kind because, at the end of the day, he needs someone who is going to be kind to him. someone genuine and possibly doesn't even take much of his hero persona into consideration. happy to be with hawks but proud to be with keigo. he's drawn to someone who seems.. unique? i'm not sure how to word what i'm trying to say but it's someone who just - radiates some type of gentleness that he's probably mesmerized by. he would be even more screwed if she wasn't the type to keep up with heroes and asked who he was.
without being weird about it, he'd start observing her, taking in her likes, dislikes, habits, favorite things.. just information he'd file away for use later on. somehow, finding out those little things would just have him falling more and more. he'd keep things light, though, playful and easy, testing how everything went with her. he would never, at any point, think to rush anything because not only could that ruin things but it could potentially put her in danger.
despite how in his head he is and control of things, he wouldn't even realize how rapidly his feelings were evolving until one night, sitting in the break room and listening to her laugh out in the hall. oh - he was actually falling for some random office worker? he would absolutely struggle with how dangerous that was but god, the way his heart seemed to pick up hearing that sound. he was a lot more invested in things than he realized.
her company would become his favorite thing but he would still be cautious for a while. he would feel himself becoming protective over her, telling himself that the last thing he needs is to have her hurt. was that his place, though? he rationalized that she was still just a citizen.
✧*̥˚ getting her attention *̥˚✧
no one can tell me hawks isn't awful at flirting but the way he says shitty pick up lines still just works out? however, he'd feel defeated when he pulled the 'if you were a hero, you'd be my sidekick for life' and you frowned, asking why you wouldn't be able to be a pro on your own. he really should have seen that coming. maybe pick up lines weren't the best route but he still tossed a few out here and there. he's kind of used to people enjoying him.. in general and that being his charm.
he would be the type to, later on, bring you gifts ( he's a bird. lets be real. ) such as things he knew were your favorite like little snacks and drinks, maybe a book or two. maybe smaller things related to comments or inside jokes. this is absolutely the reason you have a pin with a possum on it. he's not against going big when it's called for, arranging more grand dates and trying to impress you.
he is, any second he gets, there for you. for whatever you need. sick? he's not the best nurse but he tries. upset? his shoulder is there. no motivation? did you know feathers can make great pompoms?
let's get into what i'm sure everyone is waiting for: the moment he feels is right to confess, hawks is dropped and keigo is basically baring his soul to you. the playfulness, the teasing; it's gone in that moment as he takes a deep breath. 'you mean a lot to me, you know? and.. i'd really like to see where this can go.' it wouldn't be a lot of frills and sweet words, it would be serious.. wanting you to know he truly meant it when he was telling you how he felt and how he wants to be with you.
✧*̥˚ first tiny drabble *̥˚✧
the sun was beginning to set, painting the city with golden hues as you pushed your way out of the coffee shop, order in hand and moving quickly. you were late for a meeting, not paying attention and attempting to get your vibrating phone out of your pocket without throwing anything else onto the ground. the lack of attention lead to a collision that sent her coffee tumbling to the ground and time to briefly stop.
'shit, i'm so sorry!' you exclaimed, honestly not sure what to do first, a hand coming up to rub your face. it took a second, but you finally looked at the person in front of you, blond hair and a pair of crimson wings folded in neatly. you blinked a few times.
he waved a hand at you dismissively. 'hey, no harm done,' a charming smile forming as he tilted his head, 'should've been watching where i was going.'
the words almost didn't register to you, gaze slipping to the red feathers occasionally. 'thanks but, uh.. are you, like, cosplaying or something?' it was taking a good bit of self control to not reach out and touch but you reminded yourself that was rude.
he was clearly amused, eyebrow raising slowly. 'cosplaying?'
you gestured to him. 'yeah, like, dressing up as a character? your wings are.. super realistic.' no, it didn't cross your mind that they could be real.
hawks shook his head, laughing softly. 'not cosplay. these are the real deal.' as if to back up his words, he stretched them out a little, careful of those around.
you were confused but also mesmerized; they were so pretty. 'wait wait, are you one of those pro heroes or something?'
'bingo, guilty as charged.' he answered, settling his wings back in and studying you for a moment, finding the display endearing in a way. 'hawks, at your service.'
'like.. the bird..?'
he was having field day with your responses. 'yeah, that's the one.. like the bird.' he mused. 'you really don't know who i am?'
your lips pursed a little before you replied. 'i don't really get into the whole heroes thing, sorry. i've got my own job and life to worry about.' it wasn't meant to sound rude or anything but you had enough on your plate than to worry about who was saving what. 'kind of live under a rock when it comes to those things.'
if he didn't know any better, he could have sworn his heart clenched, being unknown to someone just fed into his little delusions. 'it's refreshing, no need to apologize. most people recognize me immediately, it can get tiring, so it's nice to see someone who doesn't see me as a hero, i guess.'
'well.. i'm y/n,' you introduced, offering up a smile. 'sorry about the coffee thing.'
his shoulders lifted in a shrug. 'how about i make it up to you? there's a place around the corner that's pretty great. we can grab another coffee and you can tell me about living under that rock of yours.'
did the meeting even matter? you were sure someone would take notes. you'll just.. say you got sick while out for a break. you nodded to yourself, as if to confirm the story. 'alright, lead the way.'
offering your shoulder a barely there nudge, he began walking with you at his side. you, on the other hand, were still watching him, glancing to his wings and growing more and more curious. what you didn't expect, was such a chance meeting having the potential to turn your entire world upside down.
-
✧*̥˚ notes *̥˚✧
it's not nearly as long ; u ; but, i do have another drabble i threw together, if anyone wants it. this is basically just a basis of hawks having feelings, being scared of those feelings then saying fuck it.

Limitless. (Hunger Games AU)- Theodore Nott X Reader ~ PART 1.
Summary: Reaping day becomes the worst day of your life.
A/N: experimenting with AU's as of recently. The Hunger Games is one of my favorite book series' from when I was a kid. Also This image (Found on google) was PERFECT. Surprisingly this came entirely from an engineering book I've been reading about an old Italian architect. I incorporated some HP Characters as well. anyway. I tried to follow the lore and whatnot from the books and movies. I took inspo from the first book and catching fire a lot, but It wanted it to be fun!
The day before the reaping was solemn and quiet. Workers went to job sites the same way they always had, children played in the streets, and business continued as usual. Despite the normalcy, there was an unspoken darkness in the air. In the dark times, Theodore Nott was your source of comfort. He didn't live far from you, in fact rather close. Your families were acquainted, and you had grown up going to the same school almost all your life. He was friendly and familiar. You knew just where to find him too. He turned to you and smiled softly. "Hey," he said. you gave a small wave and sighed a relief. "How's the apprenticeship going?" you asked cheerfully, hearing from him was always nice.
"It's alright, I am learning how to apply mortar this week." He said. The boy had grown up around construction sites, his father being a mason himself. He was now of age to learn from his father's profession, something he would inherit one day if he did well. It could make him decent money, enough to support a family comfortably. "That's good." you said.
"How are you holdin' up?" He asked you, and you had no clue how to respond with a truthful answer without sounding like an anxious mess.
"I've been better." you say, the words hang in the air, Theodore nods at you with an understanding glance.
after a few moments you bit your lip in anticipation. "so," you began slowly. "Are you ready for the big day tomorrow?" you said finally. "As ready as I could be." He said with a shrug.
"That's better than being terrible," you retorted.
"Oh, definitely," Theo agreed. After a few more moments, he said, "I wish people didn't celebrate it so much. " You folded your arms. "I wish people didn't have to die." You said pointedly. "We could always run away." Theo joked slightly. "Yeah," you laughed sarcastically. "And go find a cave to live in?"
"Maybe," he said. "a cave might become a lovely home if I had you by my side."
His words make your cheeks flush. "you are home." you wanted to say, but didn't.
Part 1.
Reaping Day always made you sick to your stomach; just the very idea of the Hunger Games was sickening. you knew the outcome was eventual, but it remained a scary thought. Luckily you hadn't been unfortunate, being born and raised in the wealthy District 2, where careers would typically volunteer for any reaped kids. It was always very early in the morning, despite snow or rain or clouds. It always happened early. and It was typically the worst part of the day. Your District was littered with games protesters, but given how close you were to the Capitol, they were usually arrested or taken away before gaining the public's attention. Peacekeepers scattered the city in larger numbers this time.
This was controversial, as there was a group in the inner city of the district that advocated for the absence of careers, encouraging the potential dangers of volunteering yourself away to die. They regularly rallied and protested. They believed that children should not be bred to die. In a twisted juxtaposition, The local authorities of District 2 began publically punishing those who opposed the careers. The Governors of District 2 believed that having children volunteer was a smart tactic that would win the favor of the Capitol, and bring pride to the district. You tried to brush the anxiety off and put on a brave, but forced smile. The air was slightly heavy, thick as if you could feel everyone's grief with a sporadic chilly breeze. That day always felt exhausting. Even with the strong Capitol relationship your District had, (Some workers would be shipped to the Capitol relatively young to help build their defenses, something you worried Theodore would have to do eventually, as he was his father's apprentice.) the Hunger Games were still unsafe and children would still die. All for nothing.
You had lived in the same old masonry building since you were a child, with a large brick fireplace that acted as the heart of the home. Without you, your parents would have to venture out to the outer city's dangerous streets to get more firewood this winter... The thought was unpleasant, so you pushed it away. The odds were in your favor surely. Even if you did make it out, you were hopeful you wouldn't have to, that you wouldn't be reaped to begin with. those who returned from the games never lasted long. They came back as different people. No soul was left unchanged by that tragedy. So if you made it out, you lost a piece of yourself in the Games regardless.
You headed to the reaping ceremony after bathing, dressing, and combing your hair. you stopped for a moment of mindfulness, to steady yourself for the day ahead. Then, proceed towards the house of your closest friend from your childhood. You always walked to the reapings together. Theodore Nott, an only child, son of the Capomaestro, or as some would call his father- the 'Master Mason'. His family was somewhat wealthy, they lived comfortably, enough for a relatively modestly sized home with a lavish garden. You knocked on the door gently, to see Theodore standing in his nice new leather shoes. He smiled softly, and you embraced him in instant need for comfort and feeling warm and safe in the boy's arms. He smiled at you and brushed his hand through his slightly messy hair. He looked tired.
"Hi," he said. you smiled softly. "You look nice," he said. "Thanks, Teddy," you said, using his nickname, one that was a rarity between the two of you. It was a special term of endearment.
"oh!" he chimed suddenly remembering, "I have something for you," he said, reaching over on the coat rack by the door to grab a navy blue coat with multi-colored buttons. He held it out for you to grab. You took the fabric, it was sturdy, and nice quality.
"It was my mother's, I want you to have it. No good in the closet nowadays anyway." Theo said. He tensed up whenever he talked about his mother, who had passed away when he was very young.
"Theo, I can't." you insist. It was probably inevitable you would be cold with the morning breeze in the sweater you wore, but you brushed it off. This was something special, you didn't feel worthy of it somehow. "I insist," he says, holding it out for you to put your arms into each sleeve. You slipped the jacket on and it fit nicely. "Thank you," you whispered. Before you could change your mind and protest, Theodore's voice broke the short silence. "Shall we?" he asks, gesturing to begin your short walk to the ceremony.
When you approach the stage after signing in, your heart races. You see all the children of the District lined up, and the ones who had trained at the combat academy up in the very front. seeing familiar faces, your neighbors, your friends, people you know. You are flooded with emotion, and you take a few deep breaths, Theodore grabs your hand in reassurance as he had been standing by you. You swallow back the pit in your stomach. It isn't likely you'll be picked, you should be okay. You should be. The introduction to the games feels like a blur, something about war and peace and it falls into familiarity after the first few words. you are only focussed on the names, up until that point, you hadn't been reaped. you had not been selected, and you were safe.
"You'll be okay," Theo said to you, hands intertwined.
You tried to use this to justify the anxious feeling, reassuring yourself as the speaker was finally ready to pull the names out of large concrete bowls. In typical Capitol fashion, the woman picking the names is dressed bizarrely. She has pink everything - from her fingernails to her eyelashes. You suddenly remember her name, from last year, or maybe the year before. Dolores Umbridge. As she walked across the stage you could tell there was a pink cat on the side of her dress, it looked peculiar and ugly.
"Now, to begin, our male Tribute of District 2 will be..." She says, prancing across the stage and grabbing a tiny red piece of paper. She clears her throat, before speaking loudly and clearly into the microphone.
"Theodore Nott."
The boy you had grown up with, played with. The boy who would sometimes sneak food from his family's pantry to feed yours. The boy who you had seen grow from a stalky kid to a tall and tireless-looking young man. Your best friend, the one who kept you safe when it mattered most. You glanced at him, he gave a hopeless smile, a fake one. He was a smart boy. Someone had to volunteer surely? He was training to be a Brick Mason, like his father, those skills were more valuable than Capitol entertainment. You hoped and prayed to whatever was out there nearly every day he would age out of the reaping, and one day be shipped to the Capitol to work in the city with his masonry skills, where it was safe. Much like his father had. He would come back much later when he was old and gray and make his way back to you. That's what you always imagined for him, A good life where he was taken care of. You had never imagined his fate to be so unlucky that he would be rounded up and slaughtered with the rest of the tributes.
your heart drops. unbelievable. you look around, waiting for someone with years of private training to volunteer, someone to save your best friend. You choke on your tears, unable to render any speech. after what felt like an eternity looking at Theo, his gaze fell and he was pulled away and onto the stage. You are terrified for him. No one has volunteered. How could they? His grasp his pulled from you, as the peacekeepers escort him up onto the stage to be shown off like a trophy.
"And now, for the ladies," Umbridge says, reaping yet another poor and unfortunate soul. You grow pale, cold, and shiver. Shocked, so shocked that your eye's have filled with tears, yet nothing has spilled out. You are stood firmly in place, in total shock. You don't snap out of your haze until you hear your name being called. . . and more painful, the silence after indicating the lack of volunteers.
No careers to save you. Your heart stops, and your hearing is loud, piercing, echoes of everyone's chatter. that is when you realize it's more than just losing your best friend, One of you would have to die. There was no doubt about it. you would have to die protecting this boy. You were dragged onto the stage, and both of you were introduced as the District 2 tributes. The crowd cheered solemnly in respect. Theodore pulled you into a tight embrace in front of everyone.
with his touch you finally snapped back into reality, everything had happened so incredibly fast you only had just then finally realized what was going to happen. Your parents wept for you, going away to die like some farmed animal. they were broken, and so were you. You even overheard Theodore's father wailing for the loss of his son, pleading with anyone who would listen. Everything felt like it had instantaneously fallen apart, causing you to see the fragility of everything around you. Umbridge wiped a fake-looking tear off her overly rosy cheek. The scent of cherry blossoms followed her as he smiled softly at the two of you standing next to each other.
"So beautiful," she exclaimed, "The love of your family as you are ripped from their arms," she says, it's a condescending remark from a vile woman who lived in the Capitol her entire life. You want to slap the pink powder off her face, but elect to save your strength for the real fight. "So wonderful and so tragic. Makes me very excited for the games to begin!" she squeals. "Anyhow, dolls," she says. "Please board your first-class train to the Capitol," she says, ushering the two of you forward.
Theodore walks closely to you, enough to bring you comfort. he whispers to you aside, while Umbridge is talking about the dining options and many 'luxuries' of the Capitol. "I'm really sorry," he says. you look at him and nod. "Promise me you won't leave me," you whisper, he nods at you again. "I promise," he whispered.
"Excuse me are you even paying attention to me?" Umbridge folds her arms and turns around so abruptly that her skirt jiggles like jello. "Yes, we were listening," Theodore says finally, using the voice he only used when he tried to be professional. "What happens now?" you said pointedly. Umbridge sighed, "Since you don't care for my thorough review of the Capitol's many, many, accomplishments, I will leave you with your thoughts." She snaps. "Unfortunately there are no living mentors from previous games, so you will be consulting with Capitol experts when we arrive." She says.
You look at her with an aggressive glare, maybe it was a defense mechanism. you had been through a lot that day. Luckily Theodore defused the tension slightly, he comforted you and that was enough. You were shaken and nearly lost your balance as the train began moving and a strange feeling filled your stomach. the feeling of fast transportation you had never been familiar or accustomed to. Umbridge rolled her eyes at your silence and muttered something about you being uncultured as she walked away towards the back of the train. The two of you were alone in the cabin for a few moments, looking at the ornate decorative motifs in the flooring and the faux chandeliers slightly above you.
"What happens now?" you ask quietly. "I can't lose you." You whisper. Theodore ushers for you to sit on the plush velvet loveseat. The cushions feel like clouds, the Capitol's finest. in an exasperated effort, you rest your head on Theodore's shoulder as his arm slides around you. "I always imagined you would make it big in the Capitol, make lots of money, and support your family. That life would be good for you," you said finally in a sad tone. "I'm so sorry we ended up here. You deserve better than this," you said. Theodore looked at you sadly, with a gentle squeeze. "No matter what happens," He says after some thought. "I will do everything in my power to make sure one of us comes out on top."
His words sink in like the teeth of a gnawing animal, but it is correct. You try to find comfort in his words but are left empty. You instead sit there with him, probably for the last time. You enjoy his body warmth and the gentle rising and falling of his chest. A moment of calm before the true storm begins. Being only a very short distance from the Capitol, within an hour you have arrived, the train halts to a stop, you take a deep breath and look at him one last time before you are ushered into the city. "We'll make it out, I'm sure of it." he says in a reassuring tone.
After Umbridge had paraded you around the building, a tour- she called it, you were both exhausted already. You were to meet with your training expert next, to discuss your training plan. He was supposed to show you how to kill others, and what weapons to use. Umbridge made it sound like a fun chat, something that would be enjoyable if it weren't for the probably of your death hanging over your heads. Your ‘training expert’ as they called him was Sirius Black. Since there were no living Careers from your District to properly mentor the two of you, you would share one. Sirius was a shaggy looking man, who had many tattoos and unruly curly hair. He greeted the two of you on the second floor, just up the stairs as you were escorted. You were both quiet, silently noting all the things about the Capitol you were learning. The etiquette, The mysterious social expectations, and the wild fashion. The two of you were taken aback by Sirius and what he said when you finally entered the private corridor on your suite. He had been droning on about weapons, finding water, shelter, and basic stuff. You noticed his speech become more casual once he was away from the other Capitol folks.
“Now, lets make this clear." Sirius says with a finality in his voice. "I’m not sure here to make you look pretty in front of the Capitol, your stylist will handle that. .” He said. The words rang in your ear like a melody. “I’m here to help you make an impression, which could very well save your lives.” He said.
“How do outfits and manners save our lives?” Theodore asked him. You had been wondering the same thing but hadn’t spoken. “Well.” Sirius begins, “Looking good and entertaining the Capitol is the first priority. You make people like you, they can help you get out of there.” He said. He was somewhat cryptic. "Looking pretty is always a bonus, you are both young, attractive kids. You'll be fine in that regard. You need to be on your best behavior out there, It's acting, so be the character everyone adores." He said with faux jazz hands and fake enthusiasm.
“How are we supposed to get out?” You asked. “One of us will have to die.” You stated the words hang heavy in the air. “Just do what it takes to survive. Both of you.” You rolled your eyes, it seemed like such trashy advice. "If they want the two of you to be tragic childhood friends who are forced to turn on each other, give it to them."
Sirius stepped forward. “I don’t think you heard me.” He says his tone has shifted. “Do whatever it takes.” He said. Whatever. It. Takes. The words repeated to yourself, turning each one over until they seemed strange.
“We get it.” Theo says. “We have to keep ourselves alive.” He said, you were slightly stunned when he said this, was he suddenly selfish? That wasn’t the boy you had been friends with. “I understand.” You said finally. “Good. Now you’d both be smart to get some rest. We'll talk more in the morning, yeah?” He said, before politely seeing himself out of your suite.
You were left alone with Theodore. You turned to him, he had the same tired eyes as before. All this was so new and scary. “Theo,” you exhaled softly. “Can we just have tonight?” He asks. “No talk of the games, no training or fighting. Just us, like old times.” He says, somewhat asking and somewhat demanding. He was right though. You needed to spend time with him before whatever was going to happen happened. You felt that you owed him that at least. "Okay." you said. As you stood in the living room, the Avox servants prepared the dinner table for you, serving a fancy feast although it was pretty late in the evening. The Capitol was fattening you up to kill you, you felt like a farm animal waiting to be used for parts. It made you think you weren't so hungry, but as the scent of the roasted bird and fresh ingredients flooded your senses you couldn't help but listen to your stomach.
"I don't think I've ever seen this much food at once before," Theodore says, he walks in front of you to pull your chair out, you sit down and he follows suit. "It does look good," you said eyes grazing the basket of bread rolls. A warm filling meal could be beneficial after all. "We might as well." Theodore shrugged and began filling his plate. Turkey, Ham, Chicken, Eggs, Salad, Pasta. Food was abundant there, and only the two of you ate it. After your first bite, it was delicious. Your growling stomach was soon soothed, and after you both ate there was a quiet acknowledgment after the Avoxes started cleaning things up after you. "Thank you," You said sweetly, the Axov just stared at you blankly.
"You know," he says finally, Theodore's voice breaking the silence that had fallen over the room. "I Haven't had a nice meal like that since my mother died." He says, the words sting you, and you can't even imagine how he feels. "Yeah?" you encouraged. "Yes," Theo says. "She would make us pasta sometimes, would roll the dough out by hand. She loved it. My father kept some of the family recipes." He says. You smiled softly. He was sharing a vulnerable moment with you. "When I was younger, I used to dream about what it would be like to live here. So lavish, so free." He continued. "I never imagined the people here looking so strange," you said, earning a chuckle from Theodore. This was about the crazy Capitol fashion statements you had seen being escorted to the Tribute building. "They do dress... peculiar." He said. you shared another soft smile and laugh with him. "They do." you agreed.
"When we get out of here," you caught yourself saying this. You knew that one of you would die, but didn't correct yourself. "I hope things can go back to how they were." you say.
"I'll make it home to you, always." Theo said. "The Capitol can't keep me from the only person I've ever loved." He says. you flush, your cheeks warm. "I love you, Theo." you say. "I love you," He says slowly. "We will get through this, I don't know how but we will." he states. you take his hand that's rested on the table and run your fingers over his calloused thumb. It was a sweet moment, something you'd remember in the arena. You leaned forward slightly, his eyes trailed down to your lips, planting a gentle kiss on them.

hii !! <33 since you asked for requests... i have one! let's say abby and reader have been friends for a while – reader recently got dumped by her girlfriend. her ex complained that she spent too much time with abby, and talked about her a lot... as if she loved abby more than her girlfriend. (shocker!)
abby's there for her best friend, of course. reader was there when abby decided to dump her ex boyfriend months ago, said she didn't feel anything for him anyway... abby has never been with a woman before. and she slowly realizes her feelings towards reader? sjsjdh so sorry if its badly worded !! <3 mwahhhh
a little less blue with you — abby anderson
can we get an amen for anon!!!!
summary: you just went through a messy breakup, and you both realise something about yourselves in the process notes: slightly suggestive, other than that pure fluff !! (and angst?) wc: 4,782 | tags: none
also i send my sincerest of apologies for putting this off for so long. i received this submission MONTHS ago. i’ve tried time and time again to perfect this ever since this was submitted. this is quite a long one, so enjoy !
abby groaned impatiently as her and manny lined up at the canteen. it was the third day in the row where they hadn’t prepared the food on time, it was evident by the masses of angry mumbling and insignificant pokes at the food workers.
“they forget to prep early again today..?” abby scoffs unimpressed, picking at her fingernails with manny close to her side.
“don’t stress hermana, they look pretty busy today..” manny reassures her, unable to come up with a reasonable explanation for the shortage of food staff himself.
a few moments pass and the canteen pulls its protective roller shutters up, and the screech of its metal scraping against the ceiling makes a hoard of hungry soldiers come running.
“what’dya think they’re serving today? bet it’s something instead of burritos, hm?” manny inquires, catching abby’s attention. a bet he says?
“if it’s burritos, you give me half of yours. deal?” she places her hand out, veins cast perfectly against the harsh cool fluorescent lights above them.
manny confidently shakes his head with a cheeky grin on his face, he almost looks too proud of himself — the food hasn’t even rolled out yet.
the line slowly picked up pace, with people quickly snatching rolls of food off the bench in front of them. looks to be…
“burritos again! pay up.” abby chuckles at the look of defeat on manny’s face, he stares at his burrito with a frown, hesitantly ripping it apart like it was worth nothing.
“i should learn to never make bets with you abby, you always win them somehow.” manny playfully rolls his eyes, soon covers with a smile as he immediately digs into his food.
“i’m just that good.” she whispers, almost like it’s a hidden talent that she can’t dare let people know about.
abby and manny talk a bit longer before the topic of you is brought up.
“you hear about their break up? god, it was messy. carmen called it off’a couple days ago out of the blue. pobre chica…” manny mumbles as he continues to maul through his burrito.
it would be concerning if abby wasn't filled in about it. she was the first one you entrusted to tell.
you don't even remember how it started —more so how it ended— you'd just got off from patrol, unwinding in your dorm room when a shy pattern of knocks on your door alerted you.
standing up from your worn couch, you limped over to the front to be greeted by your girlfriend, carmen, when you opened the door.
"hey." she croaks. she looked exhausted despite not having patrol today. it was her day off, what could make her so ridden with fatigue?
you took a closer look at her eyes, they had the most unique pattern; brown on the outer edge, with greens and hazel blending in the middle. they were sunken in, and pinker than what was considered normal.
"you okay?" your hand reaches out, but carmen pulls away. with concern flooding your gut, your hands subconsciously begin picking at each other, ripping your brittle skin off the tip of your fingers. she notices this, but alas, doesn't soothe your nerves like how she usually would.
"we... i want to break up." carmen blurts out, totally knocking the wind right from your throat as you were about to take a deep breath in. where was this coming from? from the look on her face, it seemed like she wanted to lay it on you more gently than she had. with the abruptness of this news, you could feel your mind whir. tears would accumulate from the corners of your eyes as you stared at her, not sure if this was some sick nightmare of yours.
"mm.. what?" you dryly hem, a less than pleasant taste roaming your mouth. she wasn't kidding.
"i've... been thinking about it for a while. i wanted to bring it up earlier, but i couldn't find the right time.." she exhales, the tension from her shoulders somehow releasing as she unloads this onto you without warning.
but why?
"but.. why?" you mutter, attempting to keep your composure even with a trembly throat, dry and empty. your anxieties get the better of you as you stand in front of the love of your life, whom you'd spent so much time with —all of that gone to waste for reasons you didn't even have any knowledge of.
"you know why babe.." your eyes sting at the name. the nerve she has to call you babe when she's come here to break up with you.
you stare at her, at a loss for words as the subtle poke at you flies over your head. the sympathetic look on carmen's face contorts to that of annoyance when you shrug your shoulders cluelessly. she must have been thinking this over a lot more than you expected.
"..it's abby. it always has been." she pokes again, crossing her arms over her chest, her stance straight and sturdy. your palms cover your face to wipe your eyes, confused as to what she's saying. every word she's uttered to you, has sounded like nothing but muffled chatter. your head was ringing with each passing second.
"are you in love with her or something? she's all you fucking talk about." carmen spits, her infuriated tone sparking an anxious fuel in the pit of your stomach.
"carmen, we've talked about this... abby and i are nothing but friends." she wasn't convinced, and by the way her eyes shot daggers through your throat, she'd totally made up her mind on the situation.
"baby, please. i only love you, you know that." you reach your hands out, only to be rejected once more. the old carmen wouldn't think twice about sharing an embrace, for however long. whoever this was that stood at your doorstep, you didn’t know her.
"i see the way you look at her. the way you look at each other." her head drops at the last couple words, with fingernails digging into the flesh of her biceps.
you didn't want to plead, but you couldn't lose her. she was all you knew, her touch, her lips, her presence. it was too much for you to lose. it was too much for you to lose.
"i can't lose you." you sniffle, hands limp by your sides. carmen's head isn't turned to you anymore, her beautiful sun-kissed cheeks tensed as you spoke, like the thought of breathing the same air as you was enough to cause a visceral reaction.
"you already did." she chokes up, a stray tear trickling down her face that you so desperately wanted to kiss and hold next to your own. she lets her arms fall to her sides as she walks away, her speed picking up to no longer let you witness this side of her.
her captivatingly beautiful hair bounced with each step she took, her coils fading into the distance turning past a corner.
your eyes flickered as you stayed perched at your front door, one hand making its way to grip your chest with the other maintaining a painful fistful of your hair. it hurt to admit that what happened truely wasn't just some twisted scenario your mind had created in your sleep. this was real. this felt all too real to be a nightmare. this was a nightmare, but not in the way you would rather experience it.
you slammed the door in a pitiful rage, huffing around your room as you looked for any belongings to gift with your unforgiving wrath. you picked up a porcelain mug, not thinking twice about regret as you swung your arm, smashing it on the floor.
plates, chairs and cushions flew around the room. gifts made by friends, books and non-prohibited patrol gear weren't safe from your suffocating hostility neither.
some more countless, unintelligible screams later, you'd grown void of your initial anger as it slowly morphed into sadness, and pity. you never saw it coming, so you never got the chance to prepare.
as you sat with yourself amidst the chaos of shattered glass and ceramics, a smothering black hole sat alongside you, embracing you when no one else would. it was your only friend in these shallow, unforeseen times. the only soul you'd ever allow to see you in this state, was your friend abby. but she was the reason why carmen broke it off, so seeing her right now would only escalate things.
you needed space, and space was the black hole's speciality. it could give you all the space you needed; create a pit of nothingness for you to float around in and bear silence, or the company of your deafening, endless thoughts, who'd echo the desire of how things could've been different.
how things could've been different.
abby clutched her burrito and the half that manny tore for her in one hand, traveling solemnly down the corridors. it was apparent that she was stricken with worry as she pictured how you were holding up. she'd noticed you hadn't left your room since the breakup; six days and counting. the fact she's been counting the days you've been away has remained hidden for now —manny would never not mention it if he found out.
abby had her fair share of heartbreaks, her most recent one being almost a year ago. she knew the pain, and the grief that followed soon afterward. it was never pretty, nor an easy thing to experience, especially for the first time.
the day after your breakup, you were due for another patrol, yet you never showed for the shift. abby skipped, using the excuse of checking in on you to warrant her own absence. she never expected to see you heaving underneath your blankets and sobbing uncontrollably when walking in. abby immediately fell to your side, pulling you into her arms while asking what was wrong. you both sat there with her sweet words pulling each of your heartstrings as you explained your sorrows.
that was the last she saw of you, and to be honest, it was less than comforting not knowing for certain if you've gotten better. you refused any visitors since the six days you've been absent, even those of your closest friends, even abby. but she wasn't going to give up on you anytime soon. she needed to know how you were holding up.
as she approached your room, a shaky hand lifted to knock on the door. the grip on the food she held tensed as she heard shuffling from the opposite side.
the door began to shake as bolts unlocked from inside. abby held a relaxed stance when it slowly swayed open.
when you fully computed that abby was in front of you, your slouch stiffened, trying to look as awake as possible despite just having woken up. your eyes were unsurprisingly swollen from crying the previous night. your hair was a bed-ridden mess, and you wore the same clothes abby had last seen you in, which didn't make her feel any better.
"..still feeling shitty i'm guessing?" she jokes, lifting a sore smile from your face. it was the first time you'd smiled since before you opened the damned door all those days ago, the same one you both stood between.
"can i come in?" abby holds the food to her side and out of your view, not wanting you to feel obliged to eat. she stands there rather awkwardly, like you would ever deny her entry into your room. it was like her second home, and vice versa.
you nod eagerly as abby steps inside, hand behind her back and burrito gripped tightly.
“got you a present.” you’re quick to turn around as abby gestures for you to take it. it was some of the only real food you’d laid eyes on in days.
it’s filling contained beef, rice, salsa, lettuce, onions and sour cream, and its exterior seemed perfectly toasty, just how you liked it. your face grew warm with your cheeks pulling back to show a beloved smile.
“abby, you didn’t have to..” you hesitantly reach out, almost snatching the burrito right out of her hands as your stomach churned on cue.
“eat up babe.” abby chuckles, her cheeks growing rosier with each second she relished in your presence.
you shyly walk away, heading back to the couch. sitting on it’s plushy surface didn’t feel the same as it used to. having carmen’s strong arms wrapped around you with her head leaning on yours, she’d kiss your temple tenderly as you sat there in comfortable silence.
since then, existing in silence no longer brought you that familiarity of comfort, and its warmth. it would only remind you of how things used to be. how things still could’ve been if you hadn’t fucked it up.
a worrisome whirl began growing in the pit of abby’s stomach as she followed, sitting next to you. the air in this room quickly turned suffocatingly awkward. there was silence, apart from the occasional tinnitus ringing from lack of sound.
“..you haven’t been out for a while.”
“yeah.” you cough, phlegm rising from the back of your throat.
“it’s been six days,” she recalls, maintaining a somewhat frightening amount of eye contact with you as you stared blankly at the floor.
“you’ve been counting?” you ask, gaze not breaking from the withering carpet while you dug into your food like a crazed dog. it was concerning to abby how big each mouthful was.
“uh, yeah. i’ve been worried about you, y’know.” abby doesn’t falter in admitting that, it was pretty obvious, even to manny.
there was a long pause once again, the exception being your aggressive chewing and swallowing. the noise didn’t bother her, it was the way you were handling it that put her on edge.
“hey. look at me.” placing a cautious hand on your shoulder, it snaps you out of your empty daze. your eyes regain their slight glint when you lock eyes with her.
she pauses for a moment to take it all in — how drained these circumstances have left you, how the life from your skin had faded significantly since she last saw you. it left a sinking feeling in her heart, seeing her dearest friend like this.
“i think you need to take a break from this room. it’s doing your head in.” abby proclaims confidently as she stands up from the couch. she turns to you, hand stuck out.
“mmwhat?” you mumble in a confused tone, with abby already pulling you up by your hand.
the blanket that had draped your shoulders fell back, leaving you shivering. your arms sheepishly wrap around each other to conserve your warmth as abby guided you away from the totalled couch.
“i’m gonna help you feel better, okay? what do you need?” abby places both her hands atop your shoulders, the tips of her fingers laying delicately on the surface of your skin made your face melt.
it was the first time in god knows how long since someone asked you how you were doing, let alone how they could help you. and to be quite honest, there was a lot. you just couldn’t wrap your head around what to start off with.
after a weak pause, you muttered,
“well… i haven’t gotten to a bath since..” you sniffle, a bit embarrassed admitting it out loud. the fact that this seemingly never ending depression had you so in over your head that your hygiene wasn’t as accounted for as you wished, wasn’t something you wished to let abby know.
but by the looks of your matted hair, lifeless skin-tone and a lack of clean clothes, abby already knew.
she patiently walked you over to the bathroom. the bathtub was less than clean itself, but it was going to make do.
there was a bucket next to the tub, to which abby began filling up with miraculously warm water. you stood behind her, so many thoughts on your mind that you couldn’t even begin to think at all.
“i’ll help clean you, get undressed.”
the words that left abby’s lips violently snapped you out of your meaningless thoughts, so when her demands finally registered in your head, the apples of your cheeks flushed immensely.
“..i’ll be completely naked?” you remind her, giggling unexpectedly. the idea hadn't phased her one bit, minus a slight dazzle in her eyes.
“i don’t care, i’m helping you.” her attention is focused on the tea-towel in her hands, scrunching it up as she dips it into the bucket. after wringing out an appropriate amount of water, abby looks back to you.
“c’mon, you need this.”
the sincerity and softness in her voice helped soothe your nerves, so with each layer of clothing peeling off your skin, you shyly hopped into the tub. abby’s gaze remained on the towel in her hands as you pulled your hair out of your matted ponytail.
your back is turned to her, giving her all the time in the world to admire all the scars and blemishes that scattered across your spine.
you shiver as abby places the warm towel on your back, scrubbing gently. the smell of pine fills your senses. is that abby’s soap?
it must be, she probably left it behind from the last time she slept over here, before the breakup.
it was awfully quiet, minus the awkward sounds of water splashing against your back, and abby dipping the towel in the water. her movements are patient, hands grazing across your shoulders so she can scrub your arms. abby’s lips quiver, a question previously left unanswered, lingering on the tip of her tongue.
“i have a question…” the break of silence catches your attention, slowly peeking your head to the side. your peripheral vision catches the way she handles you so gently, unlike carmen. abby could snap you in half, but currently, she utilises her strength for something other than be-ridding of seraphites or infected.
you nod, and she speaks,
“what.. caused carmen to end things between you guys? i don’t think you ever mentioned it.” she asks, aiming not to phrase it too harshly.
it didn’t make sense to abby that she would randomly cut things off, they were great for each other in her eyes, excusing how she believed there was better out there... there had to be an underlying reason.
abby continues to clean you up, cleaning out the bucket with fresh warm water. she brings the towel to the bucket, squeezing it of its suds as she urges you to turn around.
your face feels warm to the touch as abby takes it between her index finger and thumb, gently rubbing the towel across your forehead.
it grew harder to look her in the eyes in this position, being completely naked and all. not only that, but over the course of these six days, your mind had completely blocked out the most significant reason for your break-up.
"..it's abby. it always has been”
“are you in love with her or something?”
your eyes drop, and abby notices. she always does, and you don’t know how you didn’t realise sooner. she knew you better than you did yourself.
“hey." abby voices.
"what’s up babe. you can tell me.” her tone is placid as she caresses your cheek with the cloth, a string of hope deep down wishing it was her bare hand instead.
your eyes meet hers, both savouring the moment. the gleam in hers told so many stories. the comrades she’d lost and gained, her deepest traumas, her greatest accomplishments, and her strongest passions.
the concoction of blues and hidden tinges of brown swirled hypnotically, its petals would bloom around the irises that met yours.
you shakily inhaled,
"she thought our friendship got in the way of the relationship we had.. like there's more between us." you shiver when a stray droplet slides down your neck. abby is still, her eyebrows tightening together.
"apparently you're all i ever talked about with her." a dry chuckle escapes your throat, you heave in response.
she pulls the cloth way, directing it to the back of your neck. she scrubs your nape, slightly dragging it down to the middle of your back.
"i mean, i'm a pretty interesting person." abby retorts, a helpless smile creeping on her face. you shake your head dismissively, attempting to disregard the fact she could not be more right.
she pulls her hand away, gesturing for you to turn back around. you do, and in turn, she gently tugs at your hair. her fingers run through each knot, untangling the jungle you managed to obtain on top of your head.
yet again, her large hands tenderly pull each section apart, remaining as patient as can be.
"why are you doing this?"
you blurt out unmistakably so, and abby scoffs, as if the answer could not be more obvious. it was not, at least to you.
anybody could have let you recover in the burdening silence alone, but abby was the one to uncover the door to your tomb. she was the one to lend out a genial hand, to release you of your harrowing sorrow —the only source of fruition you had the pleasure of taking in, being by abby's side. more so, her being by your side.
"well… i care, for starters."
her fingers part through your hair with less restraint than before, the matting seemingly fading away. slowly, as did your despair. with each knot untangled, was another tinge of heartache lifted.
she croaks,
"i know how hard break ups are. they're never easy... so if i can help you, even just a little bit..."
"i'll know i've done my best to get you out of this."
her words almost bring a tear to your eye. thankfully you weren't turned for her to see it.
a faint smile crosses your lips, you shake your head at her response.
"don't get all sappy on me now." you joke, deflecting the fact that her words just then meant the world to you. you couldn't ever find someone with such a radiant, divine soul. her actions perfectly reflect who she is as a person. confident, understanding, and humorous. your mind finally focuses on the more positive things in life for the first time in days, and you turn your head to her.
abby has a warm expression on her face, her dazzling eyes now half lidded, meeting yours with the utmost sincerity. she really cared about you.
your heart grew heavy looking at her, it was unfair that she felt obligated to help you. even if she claimed she didn't mind, it left you with a simmering pot of guilt in your stomach.
switching your position, your front is fully exposed. but you don't give it thought when you clutch onto abby. the suds of soap from your hair transferred to her own neatly tied braid as you clung to her.
no words were said, and none were needed. she unsurely wrapped a stark arm around your waist, worried you'd fall out of the tub if not for her grip on you.
her breath was chilly against your ear, leaving a shivering effect on you. your toned arms were snug around her nape, uncertain if you should let go. if you could let go.
it was silent, and part of you liked it that way. the bustling noise of other soldiers were muffled against the towering solid walls that encased you. the only thing you could hear besides that was your rising heart-rate. it pounded louder than any hammer or drill, and you swore abby could hear it too.
after some silence, you muttered, "i don't know how to thank you..." your voice is unsuspectedly quakey. a lump in your throat forms when abby hums in response. she was such an intent listener. you wouldn't know where'd you be if not for her.
"don't." her tone matches yours, equal in volume and honesty.
abby was your mount. the sail that guided you during a storm, the magic mirror that advised your every move, the morals to your humanity. your other half in this wretched world, you beckoned.
you pulled away, her hands still lingering on the small of your back, the mere size of her palms fit snugly.
you couldn't recall how many times you'd locked eyes with her today, yet, even now, you couldn't bring yourself to look away. the deep love she had for you was apparent on her face. her features softened as she saw raw emotion pour out from your own.
your staggered movements startled her as she felt the plump surface of your lips press against her cheek. your hearts would skip a beat together, and she could sense the lingering connotation in that action. surprisingly, she returns the gesture with a smile. she pulls you into yet another embrace to hide how it'd painted her face with rosy pinks.
"i'll always be here for you." you didn't have to see her to hear the smile in her voice. your ears go hot as she breaks contact, both of her hands grip your shoulders steadily.
"c'mon, let's get you dressed." abby stands up, dropping the tea-towel that'd been forgotten into the sudsy bucket. she assists you in standing up, feeling a prevalent cue to stretch when you un-arch your back.
the initial embarrassment of being nude returns as she leaves the room to fetch you a clean pair of clothes. your hands sneak around your figure to try and cover yourself when she returns, handing you a loose fitting t-shirt with some silly illustration on it, and some tight-fitting jeans, along with some underwear.
you suddenly feel overpowered as she stands across you, fully clothed in contrast to you. her arms are heavily defined against the harsh sunlight emanating through the windows in the main room.
you quickly dry yourself and get dressed, and she asks for your hand. "let's get you some fresh air." you don't have time to protest as she pulls you out of the bathroom. just barely scraping your socks and boots, you've now stepped out of your room for the first time in how many days?
"it's been six days. and about time since you left, everyone's missed you!" she exclaims, wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
it'd been so long since you've seen another human being that you'd almost forgotten how to exist within the space of another. but with abby by your side, nothing would slip by you.
your hands somehow made their way to intertwine with abby's, fingers interlocked and tight. her strut is powerful and confident, something you could learn from as you shrunk into a shadow beside her. abby turns to you when she notices you're dragging her back. she can sense your hesitance.
"it'll be fine, i’m here." she squeezes your hand like the beat of a heart, one two, one two. her reassuring smile eased your tensions, slowly picking up the walking pace again. you trusted her judgement, and nothing would cease that.
"hermana! where have you been girl? we've missed you!" manny's thick accent could be heard from yards away. his face is visibly elated and his sturdy arms rose above his head to pull you into a suffocating hug.
others that you were close friends with were sat behind him, including nora, leah, and mel. even owen was present, some steps away.
they all looked so relieved to see you, had your absence meant that much to them?
"i’ve told the guys at the range that you're coming in with me, and no, you don't have a choice." nora chuckles, standing up to push manny out of the way and hug you instead. you reciprocate gladly.
"it’ll give you a chance to let all that anger out, you're a fierce one." she adds, pulling away.
abby stands behind you through all this, incredibly proud that you were making the effort, even if it was challenging. but knowing that people genuinely worried and cared about you had lifted your spirits tremendously. there was more to life than relationships, and abby had helped you realise that.
you turn back to her, and her smile is as cheerful as ever. seeing her compassionate side then had brought her into a totally new light. you loved her, deeply.
" thank you." you mouth, and she nods. you felt a little less blue now that you'd cleared things up, and in helping you, it healed her own woes from her past. the blues would no longer linger as long as you had each other.

Don't ask me why ask me why I wrote this.
But enjoy!
(I think I just got emotional over the parents dropping their kids off for the first time for their first day of school 😭)
The stupid fire was too much for any of them. It had been burning for over 4 days now and Tommy couldn't help but feel his stomach drop as he realized the fire had demolished the row of cabins that were scattered around the woods.
He and his team had managed to save a few people, sadly there was one family that Tommy's team could save except for the infant.
"Having a child is like having your heart walk outside your chest"
It was something he had heard Evan say when it came to Jee and Chris.
He understood it, he had had his own nephew, two nieces, and one God daughter.
He just never experienced it.
Until now.
At first he thought it was because it was out of guilt, they couldn't save the parents in time. And then he thought it was because the baby (he looked maybe 1 or 2 years old) had a port wine birthmark. A reminder of Evan, but unlike Evan the birthmark covered nearly half of the baby's face; just stopping shy of the boys nose and left ear. His hair was dark, as well as his eyes- the opposite of Evan. But Tommy couldn't help but think the kid looked like how Tommy did when he was little.
Or maybe, it had to do with the fact that the kid was deaf. Tommy noticed the hearing aids when they were loading the kid into the helicopter.
-
"Mr. Kinnard, you okay?"
Tommy smiled politely at the nurse and social worker standing outside of Lucas's door.
In the following days since his team had saved Lucas, Tommy had learned a few things 1) Lucas was 2 years old, he was indeed deaf and knew some ASL, 2) he had thankfully came out of the burning cabin with no burns but minimal smoke inhalation and 3) they had found some of Lucas's family- but unfortunately due to financial reasons and location, the family members couldn't take the toddler in.
Yeah, that broke Tommy's heart into pieces because the kid deserved to be with family.
Tommy knew some ASL, he had learned some as a child thanks to his next door neighbors daughter teaching him in the case Tommy wanted to say hi to his neighbor. He had picked more up while in the military during downtime but not enough to carry a conversation. So he had relied on the ASL interpreter when visiting Lucas.
"God, he's adorable." Buck cooed as he kneeled down on the floor where they had a blanket out for him, Lucas, and Tommy. They had decided to buy Lucas some cool toy firetrucks since Lucas had told everyone at the hospital that he was best friends with firefighter Tommy and Buck.
(Tommy would forever remember the moment when Lucas tried to stand up on the hospital bed, excitedly pointing to himself and then at Evan, signing something so quickly that the interpreter had to ask Lucas to sign again for her.
"What did he say?" Buck smiled, letting out a chuckle as Lucas went in for a hug.
"He said you look like him.")
"You know, Tasha said that they're going to begin looking for foster parents for him pretty soon." Tommy tried and failed to sound subtle, they had spoken about having kids in passing. It wasn't a number one priority for them, but it was something they did talk about.
Buck didn't even pretend to look shocked or surprised.
"Uh-Is that your way of talking about becoming foster parents for this cutie?" Buck smiled brightly, he looked at Lucas and signed "Hungry?"
Lucas signed "No." Happily going back to playing with firetruck. He pushed the truck into Tommy's knee, signing to the older man "Look!"
Tommy signed back "it's so cool."
(It surprised absolutely no one that Buck had immediately started to watch ASL videos the moment he learned about Lucas.)
"Are we really doing this?" Buck asked excitedly, he looked at Tommy hopefully. Tommy could see the excitement but fear in his boyfriend’s words.
"Yeah." Tommy nodded, "I think we really are." He smiled back, "We should talk to Tasha, see what we need to do."
Buck nodded, heaving a sigh as he remembered what Hen and Karen had gone through with both Nia and Mara. He wasn't sure if he could handle losing Lucas, but ever he had met Lucas he felt like had finally found the last missing puzzle piece of his heart.
"You ready for this?" Buck asked his boyfriend, he had noticed how attached Tommy was to the kid the moment Tommy had brought him to Buck after returning from his strike team deployment.
Tommy paused to look at Lucas, running his finger gingerly through the boy's dark curls. Lucas looked up and smiled lovingly at Tommy who reciprocated.
"I'm terrified to be honest with you, but I'm ready." Tommy admitted, "it's exciting and terrifying to hope we can become a permanent family."
Buck nodded in agreement. "So we're gonna keep our expectations low then, baby steps through out all this then. Right?"
"Right."
Buck squeezed Tommy's hand in reassurance. "So let's talk to Tasha then.
(Tasha had been ready for them, without a word she pulled a heavy manilla folder from her backpack, "I was wondering when you two would finally ask me about taking Lucas in." She told them excitedly.)

Reckless Paradise (Silco x Chubby Reader)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having a food cart in the Undercity could be boring. But having Jinx as a regular customer made for interesting moments. When she has a fight with her father and comes to you for comfort. Well Silco thinks it's time to meet the person that his daughter always seems to run to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey guys, I'm back at it again. So I just watched Arcane and fell in love with Silco. That of course means that he became my immediate muse and needed a story written. Anyways I hope you enjoy.
---------------------------------------------------------
Jinx slammed a fist against his desk. “I just don’t understand why I can’t go to the meetings.”
Silco sighed. “Because your not old enough.” He gave the thirteen year old girl an irritated look. “We’ve been over this, it’s not safe for you.”
Her eyes began to water. Not wanting to let him see how upset she was, she ran out of the room.
As he watched her go his heart panged with sadness. It was always a hard task to tell her no.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rushing down the street, she went to the only other place that felt safe. Your food cart was outside of the brothel. Joking that the workers there were the ones that needed a good meal the most. This logic kept your pots empty and pockets full. It also came with the bonus of the bouncer looking out for you. Something you were going to snub your nose at.
So to see one of your favorite customers stomping over to you. It was a sight to behold. The small blue haired teen was in a mood you rarely saw her in. Sneaking into your secret stash of fresh fruit. Something you kept on hand for her. You started peeling and slicing, as she plopped down on a stool.
“How's my favorite customer doin'?”
Folding her arms onto the edge of the cart, she laided her head on top of them. “Fine.”
As you put the final piece of fruit in the bowl you sighed in a exaggerated way. “To bad. I suppose I could trade this bowl of fresh fruit for a bit more information.”
She perked up at the offer, but raised her eyebrows in suspicion. “How much do I have to tell you?”
With a shrug you said. “Enough to make you get it off your chest.” Then you stuck out your hand. “Deal?”
A smile spread across her face and she shook your hand. “Now give up the fruit.”
Chortling at her demand, you slid the bowl to her. Then listen to her complain about her dad. You could see both sides of the argument. A kid that wanted to make her father proud. On the other hand a dad trying to keep his daughter safe. It was a tricky situation to say the least.
“I can’t stand when he treats me like a kid. When is he gonna take me seriously.” Her eyes began to water again.
Leaning forward you put a hand on her head, ruffling her hair. “I know you don’t want to hear this, but he just wants to protect you." She gave you a hard look, still you continued. “That being said, you should always know that you’re welcome here.”
Her grin returned, only to dampen. “Yeah, you’re probably right.”
Putting a hand on your hip, you smiled brightly. “Of course I am. You can make up when you get back home.” Wiping down the cart top, you put away the last of your wares.
Shaking her head feverishly, she stayed glued to the stool. “Nuh uh, I’d rather sleep on the streets tonight.”
Bitting your lip, you thought through the options. Only one solution seemed the way to go. “I can’t let you sleep in a random ally. Come on, were going to have a sleepover.”
Jumping up, she helped you finish packing up and push your cart home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He paced behind his desk, eyes occasionally darting between the door and window. Where could she be, it's getting late. The door opened, only for Sevika to walk through.
Her eyes looked over him and she scoffed. “She's still not back.”
He grumbled under his breath. “No, obviously not.”
Rolling her eyes at the boss’ mood, she nodded her head towards the window. “I'll go look for her, anything to calm you down.” Going back through the door she barely caught his last comment.
“As you should.”
She could hear the worry bubbling up, so she let it slide.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bring a spare blanket and pillow to the couch, you set up a temporary bed. As Jinx skipped towards you, you gave her a mock glare. “Did you brush your teeth?”
She nodded with a frown. “The paste tasted weirded.” Then jumped onto the couch.
Tucking her under the blanket you laughed. “Sorry I only have mint. Now off to bed, need to rest up if you want to help me with the cart tomorrow.” This got her to settle down quickly. Brushing a bit of hair, that wouldn't fit into the braids you gave her, you turned off the lights.
Doing your own nightly routine, you were bombarded by thoughts of the girl lying on your couch. You tried to look after anyone that needed it, but Jinx was a special case. She had been through so much tragedy in her young life. She also had a habit of clinging to you after a fight with her father.
A sudden knock at your door startled you from your pondering. Waiting a moment, hoping it was someone at the wrong place. But as another louder knock sounded, you made your way over to the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sevika grunted in annoyance and glare into the distance. It didn't take long, after asking around, to find out where the brat had gone. A food cart that hangs around the brothel. The only problem was no one would tell her where you lived. How was she supposed to question you if nobody would give up your location.
After more time than she would like to admit, someone spilled the info. It was a useless little welp that often gets thrown out of the brothel for wanting free services. He called you a stuck up bitch, because you wouldn't give him the time of day. So he was all to happy to direct her to your home.
Now that she was in front of your door, she hoped this would be simple from here on out.
Though when the door opened it wasn't at all what she expected. There you stood plump and with prominent laugh lines on your face. You looked all of a motherly type. So the frown on your face as you stared at her seemed out of place on you.
“Can I help you?”
She glanced past you and her eyes widen as she spotted the girl. Pointed her out, she said. “I'm here for her.” Seeing you block her view, by closing the door a bit, she added. “Bosses orders.”
Narrowing your eyes at her, you flashed a look over at the kid. Stepping outside of the doorway, you quietly closed the door behind you. “I'm not sure who your boss is, but I can make a guess.” You placed your hands on your hips as an exasperated expression sat on your face. “Look she's already asleep and doesn't want to go home. Do you really want to carry her back kicking and screaming.”
She cringed at the thought, the brat was bad enough in a good mood. Giving you another once over, she thought back on her search for you. Not one person had a bad thing to say about you. Plus if the brat was comfortable staying with you, what was the harm.
“Tell you what, my cart is set up at the brothel. Why don't you let her father know that he can pick her up to his leisure there tomorrow. I'm sure the gesture would make a better impression on her than dragging her home.”
You made a good point. So with a shrug and a smirk she said. “I'll let him know the situation. But I can't guarantee that I won't be sent back to kick in your front door.”
Putting your hands up in a sign of peace you shook your head. “No need, if he insisted I'll let you in. I just think him picking her up would mean a lot. Be it tonight or tomorrow.”
With a nod she starts making her way back to Silco. Only to stop after a few steps and turn back to you. “You know you have quite the reputation around here. Made it more of a challenge than I would have liked to find you."
This caused a sheepish smile to settle on your lips. “It helps when you can provide a hot meal.”
Her smirk deepened. “Maybe"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When she got back to the office he was half asleep in his chair. Slamming the door shut, she quietly snickered as he jump in his seat.
“Wha.” He scanned the room and glared as his eyes landed on her.
She couldn't help but noticed how the look fit much better on him than you. “I found Jinx.”
Glancing around her, his visage swapped to one of confusion. “Well, where the hell is she.” He gestured about her and grew more agitated.
Folding her arms across her chest she slid onto the chair before the desk. “With a food vendor that sets up shop in front of the brothel.”
Rubbing his temples, he tried to kept his temper in check. “And you didn't bring her back because?”
“The woman made to many good points.” She then launch into a recap of her conversation with you.
As the explanation was given, he couldn't help but agreed with you on most points. What he didn't like was you not giving him his daughter. How dare you keep what belongs to him, even if it was for only a night. He could tell by the way that Sevika spoke of you, it seemed you had garnered her respect. Which was a hard won thing to achieve. “Do you agree with her?”
This caused her to pause. Then realize that even if it wasn't what he wanted to hear, the truth was her answer. “Yes, she has the trust of the common folk and Jinx. Trying to disrupt either could result in negative backlash.”
He had to consciously unclenched his jaw. It was a thought out and comprehensive analysis. But not what he wanted to consider. “I suppose that given the situation, a little time apart could do us some good. Does she seem of the trustworthy sort.” His scrutinizing gaze rested firmly on her. Taking in any body language that may betray her thoughts.
“In all honesty, I didn't hear a single bad thing about her. Except that waste Mitch, but his opinion matters as much as a sewer rat's. It's like she's made herself a positive facet in the tunnels of the Undercity.” Placing her hands on the arm rest she leaned forward. “She might even be able to help with getting through Jinx's teenage years. Having some one she can confided in that's outside of the family business. Someone that you could keep in your back pocket for times such as these.”
The suggestion made his hackles fully lower. That could be a great boon in helping keep his daughter in line. For the first time that night he smiled. “Yes, it may be the right moment for me to meet this vendor. I will be freeing up tomorrow morning to gather Jinx from this woman.”
Nodding she had to restrain herself from smirking. She had a feeling that this meeting would be an entertaining event, to say the least.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
He walked down the street with his usual swagger. The past couple of years had his reputation skyrocketing. Taking shimmer from a small lab to a large scale production had made him a respected yet feared person.
Still it seemed there were people like you. People who weren't under the thrall of his power. So to say he was taken aback at seeing you for the first time, would be an understatement.
Your cart was homey and decorated with many personal touches. There were a few plants hanging about the canopy. Odd sizes of seating set up in front of a bench attached to the cook top. Jinx was next to you, listening to you give her patient instructions.
Then there was you. Comfortable casual clothing clung to your plump body in an alluring manner. Your cheeks were flush with effort as you mixed together a bowl of ingredients. A beaming smile made him glance away, for fear your brightened expression would blind him.
He pauses and took a moment to gather himself. This was not at all the type of senerio he saw himself stepping into.
You noticed movement not to far from your cart and glanced towards it. It wasn't hard to realize it was Silco, Jinx's father. The marred eye was his biggest giveaway. Still you couldn't help taking in his lithe figure and handsome angular features. You had no idea that such a tantalizing treat was scouring the Undercity, right under your nose too.
It was a few moments later that he heard his daughter call him over. Putting on his best face he made his way over to the pair. “Hello Jinx, how pleasant to see you this morning.” He was hoping the jab would be understood.
She looked up at him with excitement as she flipped the cooking batter. “Hi, can you believe how good this smells. I've never had breakfast from here.” She turn her attention back to the cook top and continued flipping.
“Well thank you honey. I'm glad that you feel that way." Facing him you nodded your head at the seats. “Take a seat, it won't be long before it's ready.”
He was grateful for the invitation. She was right about the smell, it was heavenly. “I believe I will take you up on that. My daughter didn't give you to much trouble, did she?”
Shaking your head with a chuckle, you began to plate up some fresh fruit and hot cakes. “Not at all. If anything she's been a great help. Didn't even complain about waking early to set up the cart.”
She perked up and jumped onto the seat next to him. “Yeah, we were out here before the morning rush. You should have seen all the people that came by.” She began shoving food in by the shovelful.
Noticing a plate had also been slid in front of him, he took a bite. It was delicious, the pairing of the lightly dressed fruit and warm pillowy cakes. He hadn't enjoyed a meal this much in a long time. Finishing the dish faster than he would have liked to admit, he couldn't keep his gaze from you.
You moved with such practiced precision behind the cook top. The way you wielded your knife made him believe you could transition into a proper assassin easily. But as he looked over at his daughter, smiling and chatting with you. He knew that you were in a better postition here.
Finishing the delectable dish he brushed away any debris from himself. “Thank you for the fabulous food. But I think it's time we be on our way.” He stood, then turned to Jinx. She was disappointed, though she followed his lead.
Smiling at the duo you held out a container filled to the brim with various items. “Here's something for the road. And I don't want either of you to hesitate to come back either.” Winking at the pair, your smile widened at the happiness on the kid’s face.
Nodding at you, he hoped his expression didn’t show how flustered he was. You were stirring feeling in him that he hadn’t felt in quite some time. “We will have to do this again then, Mrs….”
A more alluring cast settled on your face. Full attention landing on him you said. “Actually it's Miss (Y/N).” Holding out your hand, you gave his a healthy lingering shake.
Keeping a calm appearance he released your hand. “A pleasure, until next time.” Walking away with Jynx, as she called out her goodbyes. He couldn't help glancing back. Only to be shocked at your eyes raking over his own figure. Your gaze met after a few moments and you gave him a heated look. The spell broke as his daughter yanked him forward, going on about how much fun she had with you. It had him thinking about all the fun times that you and he could have together. But that would come in time. For now he would enjoy you through the stories Jinx were telling.
