the problem with benny is that he's a one-shot character who would honestly be more fun to play longterm in an actual campaign, but he's built around a joke concept to an extent that I would find distracting even though, if I played him with sincerity, I doubt anyone would even pick up on it without me telling them

♡ au where Byron and Ring set their youngest up together what could possibly go wrong
Tumblr media
from this picrew
(there is a canon base template for both children (scipio and leif) but changing the parentage will change everything else so i won't rename them but will basically treat them as completely different people from their canon counterparts!)
but yeah since they were set up at a young age, andrei and ethlyn were more heavily encouraged to interact in their childhood then they were in canon, which to them is just. bickering. every moment of every day they are forced to spend together. they get to know each other really well but that doesn't mean they like each other all that much. at the same time they've known all their lives they're gonna be married when they grow up so like. welp.
they get married before the events of fe4 occur, and ethlyn has 'scipio' and stays in yngvi castle with edain when the guys go off to war. i think the only way for the second kid to be born is if the conspiracy doesn't happen as quickly, so they all come back alive and the two of them have 'leif' and then the rumors start to spread and then andrei does the thing and joins the conspiracy crew and presumably edain and ethlyn go to sigurd's side together, the latter taking the kids with her. neither of them have major blood so andrei won't fight for custody. kids end up in tirnagog gang with auntie edain after eth dies in the meteor attack
for big bro 'scipio'
class: free knight > ranger (mounted, sword a)
blood: minor ullr, minor baldr
extremely conflicted individual; was of an age where he was aware of things going on by the time of his father's betrayal and his mom's death and the rest of the kids having to go on the run, so he has inherited the burden (in his own mind) of the sins of the fathers. heavily resents the idea of andrei and everything he stands for, which includes archery and the very idea of yngvi itself. gets into arguments with cousin lester about this
has canon leif's inferiority complex re: cousin seliph, but dialed up bc he feels like his family is the black sheep of the chalphy-yngvi extended family thanks to andrei's actions, whereas seliph is still the scion of light. it doesn't help that he's likely the eldest of the gen ii kids, someone who maybe should've been looked up to, yet feels like he's the 'worst' and not a good example of anything. prefers to avoid seliph if at all possible
has an overall very prickly personality (ironically, very similar to andrei's), even to family members (and god they have a lot of cousins), but is in practice fiercely protective of his little brother. hurting him will be the last thing you ever do
vocal hater of arranged marriages, bc look where that got their family. believes in free love for everyone else, and no love for himself
ties up his hair in battle because he is a practical guy
less practically, red is still his favorite color and the color of his clothing, even though it clashes with his pink hair
for little bro 'leif'
class: troubadour > paladin, but the version like his mom where he can also use staves (mounted, sword b, lance c, staff c)
blood: minor ullr, minor baldr
takes after his mother in terms of personality, being kind and caring but also headstrong and impulsive. is rather good at talking to and persuading people, as long as they aren't his own big brother
loves auntie edain a lot!! he so desperately wanted to join the convent when he was a little kid just so he could be by her side at all times. learned his healing magic from her, and thanks to the ethlyn-given natural talent has become another healer for their gang. often practices together with lana
ok-ish at combat, but he's not very careful and often gets into different cuts and scrapes. gets berated by his big brother a lot for it, but doesn't really learn to be more careful. deep down, he does this because he knows that his big bro being protective of him is the only way that he can semi-healthily show love, and some part of him craves that as well
is the one in the army who most often wistfully daydreams about how life could've been better if none of the gen i mess happened. he wants a happy family, and he wants a loving mom and dad, and deep within his caring, cheerful attitude is a venomous resentment for his father / the conspiracy that rivals his big brother's

For the Tav questions: 1, 8, 12 and 22
1. What was your Tav’s place of birth and raising like?
I haven't gone as far as specifying the town he's from, but he was born in 1351 DR on the isle of Evermeet.
he was the youngest of three brothers, and as it would soon become apparent, the one that stood out the most. he had none of his family's arcane talents, he was taller than everyone else at the age of 14, and he'd inherited his mother's red hair and most of her features, but none of his father's. he never figured out if he was a bastard -- he couldn't just ask his mother -- but once he realized why his father had always treated him much colder than his brothers, he never really felt like part of the family again.
which, sad as it was, may have worked in his favor, because by the time the Spellplague hit and Evermeet was thrown into the Feywild, Tavlen had already long left for Faerun.
8. Did your Tav have any romantic and/or sexual relationships prior to their illithid adventure? If yes, who was it with and what was it like? If no, how did they feel about being single?
he'd had plenty of fleeting romances and one night stands when he was younger, but eventually he realized that most people were interested his physical features, not his personality, and wanted one of two things: - to find out what sleeping with a huge elf is like, - or to get something from said huge elf, usually his help with something.
he'd already had a bit of a complex about his body size and his perceived intellectual inferiority, and that did not improve matters at all.
after he became a roaming paladin, his romantic or intimate entanglements became even fewer and far between, and he'd been single for many years when he got snatched by the nautiloid.
12: already answered
22: Has your Tav become particularly close to anyone romantically and/or platonically in their journey? If so, who, and what is the relationship like? If no, why not?
you can find the long answer to that in my fics, Illusion and More Than Any Words. :) and for the short answer, a picture is worth a thousand words.

AU where the entire war between Ozma and Salem is just one big chess game with the Huntsmen and the Grimm/Inner Circle as pieces. Bonus points if this is a RWBY Chibi skit. Even more bonus points if there are 20-sided dice rolls to simulate unpredictable elements.
#The Vytal Campaign - RWBY as a DnD Campaign - mod lilac [ Beginning: Ruby Rose]  [ Spot Check: Jaune ] [ Critifail ] [ Reveal of the Mysterious Narrator ]
Salem and Ozpin play out an abbreviated version of the Lost Fable.
Salem and the Gods - Before the Vytal Campaign
An Ultraman figure, covered in a blanket, laid in a makeshift bed. Beside it, a blonde barbie doll knelt beside him, hands tied together in prayer. On the edges of the table are multiple chess pieces, mostly pawns and bishops, and some other dolls and action figures.
Salem: Oh gods. I pray to thee for Divine Intervention to save my Ozma.
Ozpin, amused: I’m pretty sure you don’t ask for Divine Intervention like that.
Salem, snappily: Hey. I wasn’t the one who wanted to spice things up by getting sick and ended up rolling two 1′s in a row when he tried to get better. Only you can make your character die in the epilogue of all things: now do you want Ozma to survive or not?
Ozpin held up his hands in surrender.
Ozpin: Yeesh, alright, you’re more invested in my characters than I am. Okay so Salem - also still don’t get why you insist on using real names or variants of.- beseeches the gods. Which of the gods do you want to ask?
Salem, pursing her lips:  Guess God of Light first, I mean Ozma was a Paladin, right? He’s gotta favor you.
Ozpin: Let’s see what the dice say.
Salem tosses the dice. Clatter clatter.
Salem: ...
Ozpin: ...You rolle-
Salem, growling: Shut it.
The twenty-sided die Salem rolled proudly displayed a 1.
Ozpin: The God of Light doesn’t even bother descending in person. His voice just apologetically echoes. “I understand your pain, but you demand of me that which I cannot make so. Life and death are part of a delicate bal-”
Salem: Screw it. I pray to the God of Fucking Darkness. -tosses the die.-
Ozpin: I’m pretty sure you don’t want to do th-
Clatter clatter.
Salem: Ha. I rolled a sixteen!
Ozpin eyes the poor Ultraman figure on the table before dismantling it joint from joint. He then starts putting the legs where the shoulders go.
Salem: What are you doing?!
Ozpin, sardonically: You prayed to the god of destruction for my revival. Of course I come back wrong.
Salem, flustered. : Well. Well. I-I TELL HIM TO STOP. In fact, I insist! I roll to cast Greater Suggestion.
Salem tosses the dice. Her eyes bug out at the result.
Salem: Are these dice rigged or something? This is the fourth 1 we’ve rolled this session.
Ozpin: No rigged dice here. That’s just how they fall. -sigh.- Well, I guess the God of Darkness gets pissed o- No, you know what. Just to celebrate our 4th critical failure in the past thirty minutes.
Salem: Oz. No.
Ozpin, grandly: The God of Light is affronted by your attempt to influence his brother. He too appears in person. As his brother shakes off your Suggestion, he helpfully tells his brother that Salem went to him first. Cause he’s helpful like that. Out of jealousy, the God of Darkness roars and waves a hand at the poor, sad abomination he created. Salem catches a glimpse of Ozma turning his head 360 degrees to her, eyes wide and saying “My wi-” before disintegrating into nothingness.
....
Salem, glaring: Why do you insist on your characters dying pathetically sad deaths?
Ozpin shrugs and sips his hot cocoa.
Salem: You know what. This game’s gone FUBAR at this point.
Salem, dramatically: I swear vengeance against the gods. I swear to drag you all out of your stupid little pedestals and make you taste the cold hard ground.
Ozpin, affronted: Are you seriously pulling a Raven?
Salem, yelling: - smacks the table.- I tell the God of Light he fights like a dairy farmer and the God of Darkness that he fights like a cow!
Ozpin, amused: They’re gods. They’re perturbed by your insults but overall they don’t think much about your angry rant.
Salem: Uh huh, so you’re really saying that you made the god of Darkness go out of character then.
Ozpin: Well no. He’s just a bit of a special case. In the lore, he has an inferiority complex when it comes to his brother.
Salem, smiling: ...Really now?
Ozpin opens his mouth to speak.
Salem: Hey! God of Darkness, how does it feel being second best to your brother all the time? I mean, he created all the humans and animals and stuff, and what do you make? Some shitty ass Grimm. I guess it’s kinda fitting, given the rest of humanity thinks of you as a pathetic shadow of your brother.
Salem, whiningly: Oh look at me. I’m God of Darkness. Even my name makes me feel like I’M CRAWLING IN MY SKIN. I’m so hideous that my own brother locks me in a tiny little continent inside Remnant. At least I have a tiny pool of death and destruction where I can do unspeakable things to the bestial creatures I make.
Ozpin pauses in shock.
Oscar: ...Was that really neces-
Salem: You know what the rest of humanity thinks of you as? Your brother’s whipping boy. Always second best. The Luigi to a Mario. A Shadow the Hedgehog to a Sonic. A limp dick who can’t put one foot out of line in fear of his older brother. Because you don’t have the guts. For a God of Destruction, you sure are pathetically meek. When humanity finally rises up, your ass will be the first to get beat.
Salem tosses the dice.
Salem: HA! I rolled a 20!
Ozpin: ...Epic levels in Speechcraft, right?
Salem, proudly: Yeah. You know, the same epic skill that made my father, the King, trap me in that stupid fairytale tower - and I still managed to get all those heroes to kill themselves trying to save me.
Ozpin sighs before folding up his world-building notes. He then dramatically sweeps all the toys and chess pieces onto the floor.
Salem, confused: Oz! What are y-
Ozpin, loudly: The God of Light, seeing his brother quiver in anger, only has a chance to give out a dismayed yell before the God of Darkness screams in rage.
Ozpin, suddenly: ARGGGGGGGH!
Salem jumps at Ozpin’s sudden scream before glaring.
Ozpin: A shockwave of purple magic detonates around the God of Darkness. The hut they were in collapses. The pulse of magic extends past the forests, past the mountains, past the seas, and into the cities. It spares the stone and mortar but for the men and women it touched, it renders them into dust.
Salem stiffens, eyes wide.
Ozpin: The forest critters, dust. The sea creatures, dust. All that lives which touch the Cursed Wave, dust. Before long, the only living things on Remnant are two Gods and a human named Salem.
Salem, jaw slackening: Did I just cau- Wait, isn’t that a bit extre-
Ozpin, smirking: Nope. The God of Darkness has always been able to casually wipe out life on Remnant. Congratulations, you’ve pissed off a god so much that he wiped out Humanity and everything else.
....
Salem: ...We never tell Raven about this.

Did not expect anyone to ask about my OCs x’D I assume because of my matchups from @marshmallowprotection
First thing, which I myself often forget: these ocs are actually technically inserted characters in a pre-existing universe, a French roleplay youtube series. I originally just started imagining different scenarios for the existing characters and then basically did the “let’s give them kids and see what happens” thing. Kinda lame concept, but I love the characters I created for it, and I’ve had them for… a couple years now? Second thing, that universe is magical fantasy, I just didn’t mention it in the matchups because it wasn’t relevant (nor how they end up in Mysme’s world, shush). Now that I’ve thoroughly disappointed you, here are the characters themselves, the cousins/siblings gang (because I’m unsure about giving names, we’re gonna call them Big Sister, Younger Brother, Adopted Cousin and Lyn):
______________________________________________________________
We’ve got Adopted Cousin (here), the oldest one, he’s actually the only one not blood related to the others. Black with green eyes, VERY tall and thin, originally he was meant to have long blond hair, but I have a tendency to picture him with a black long ponytail so it’s still unclear. He’s an orphan who became the apprentice and then adopted son of a character who is HIMSELF not blood related to the parents of the others, but because their parents treat him as family, he’s their uncle and his son is ergo their cousin. It’s the law. If anyone questions it Big Sister will punch them in the face. Hard. He’s also the only one of the group who has zero connection to magic nor any interest in it whatsoever. For a long time, he avoided the topic of his family because he didn’t want to relieve the trauma of losing them, and tried to focus only on his new family; he’s gotten better at talking about it since (though I won’t go into details on how they died). Easily the most chill and calm of the whole group; all he wants is to get to do his experiments, invent some cool stuff, read, draw and sew because it’s soothing. 98% of the time he gets roped in an adventure is against his will by his cousins (other 2% is when he wants to get his hands on something forbidden to study it; the only times he gets in trouble he does not mess around. Go big or go home, what’s the use of going apeshit if you don’t even get arrested). He just wants to stay home and hyperfocus. Please let him take a nap (they don’t).
The advantage of constantly being thrown around by creatures of hubris is that it puts into practice your quick-thinking skills: very promptly got used to taking charge of every kind of situation no matter how crazy and keeping everything and everyone under control, and will get frustrated when people don’t listen to him (he’ll make them listen). Even though they should technically get along great for being the two most reasonable, he often butts head with Big Sister because of his leading nature (“No I don’t think you’re dumb, please I just want us to survive this let me handle it”) His adoptive father is himself in a huge position of authority so he’s learned a lot from him. He’ll drag everyone safe back home by force if he has to (even if he has noodle arms).
  ______________________________________________________________
We’ve got the Big Sister (here). Physically perfect mix of her grandmothers, but with her father’s older sister body type (aka: huge): long dark blonde wavy hair and blue (?) eyes. Arguably most attractive face of the bunch. Her father is basically a paladin, her mother is petite but strong (not a fighter though) her aunt is at the head of an army, and she wants in on it. Since she was very young she’s trained with her father in the hopes to join their army (and succeeded) and she’s become the epitome of a huge muscular woman in so doing. She tries to follow her father’s ideals of “justice and protection to the weak and innocent” in theory, but due to her sometimes abrasive attitude (which she gets from him), and the fact that she has inherited a lot of her mother’s personality (a “the end justifies the means” kinda gal), she can sometimes have a warped vision of morality that she has to work on a lot. Sadly, she’s also inherited a bit of her father’s introverted exterior and aunt’s “in case of doubt, punch” reasoning and honestly, that’s just a whole mess of a personality combo but she tries her best. She’s easily the most confident and assertive of the group and never doubts her abilities or goals (sometimes maybe a bit too much), might even boast a lot tad. She’s extremely protective of her loved ones and is the kind that will yell at you for getting in trouble (big sister vibe +1); before her older cousin was adopted she was used to being the oldest of the family and therefore still feels responsible of everyone’s safety, she’ll definitely always try to be in control for every situation. She actually butts head a lot with her adoptive cousin because of them both taking the “older and wiser” role, and it took her a while to begrudgingly admit he’s often better than her at handling things, and that they should just work together instead of trying to one-up each other. She loves messing with people (ESPECIALLY her younger brother whom she can drive MAD) but hates being messed with and will definitely get her revenge. She does her typical “older sibling friendly bullying” thing, but if you trashtalk her brother anywhere near her you’re dead. Only she can mess with him, it’s the law.
  ______________________________________________________________
We’ve got the middle child (here), the one I called Lyn (actually a character from another story, this one created entirely by me, that I inserted here once just because and somehow she ended up with an entirely different backstory and family). Related to the other two Brother and Sister by blood (dad is their mother’s half-brother). Somehow looks more like her father’s sister than her parents, also a lot like her mother though she hates to admit it. Her mother had her without ever telling her dad and was extremely abusive to her for 10 years (she has scars, mostly on her back). At that age her father, who was married, found out about her and tried to get in contact with her, until he found out the way she was being treated. Her mom tried to get rid of him by getting him arrested, but his sister-in-law (maybe?? What do you call the sister of the husband of your sister??? She’s the head of the army I mentioned earlier) pulled some strings and managed to get him and his husband custody as well as getting the mom banished. Lyn hasn’t seen her since (but she will ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ). She’s extremely happy with her dads now and thankful to have them.
Her dad is actually a fire mage and she has great control over fire herself, but no interest in pursuing that talent academically; she’s good with knowing how to burn stuff that annoys her when necessary. She greatly prefers to run around outside; she’s really good at sports, an extremely good climber and fighter, runs fast and is agile (all this taught to her by her stepdad). She’s not as much of a “horse girl” as her cousin, but she’s got her own horse (she created it; don’t ask) and she loves him to death. Has absolutely no clue what she wants to do with her life as an accomplished adult and honestly neither do I; maybe she’ll end up going on adventures for the sake of it like the original characters, why not. She honestly doubts herself, her own abilities and her future a lot, but usually tries to hide it behind jokes and smiles. She’s actually extremely resourceful and a quick-thinker, but only if doing so will end in mischief. Sidenote: she drives her adopted cousin up the fucking wall. He just wants to rest and be chill most of the time and she somehow always gets him mixed up in her messes, which he always has to help her clean up. He loves her, but damn does he also want to strangle her. (And now I can see the Vanderwood/Saeyoung vibes, god dammit @marshmallowprotection  was right about both their matches)
  ______________________________________________________________
And finally, the Younger Brother (here). Perfect mix of his parents, white, grandma’s wavy locks, dark hair and blue eyes, arguably the cutest (his sister and his side of the family just got the bamf genes): youngest of the whole gang, used to being doted on, particularly by his sister. Also used to not being taken seriously because he’s young and being messed with a lot, PARTICULARLY by his sister. He has a huge inferiority complex towards her because he’s always felt like she was more accomplished and closer to their father than he was (which is partially true because since she pursued the same career as him they just got to spend a lot of time training etc. but he loves his children equally. He himself is closer to their mother and mother’s brother) and had a better grasp than him on what to do with her life and how to achieve her goals. He later discovered himself a talent in magic and learned a lot through his grandfather and his mother’s brother the mage; successfully entered the same school as he, one of the best of its kind and has been receiving nothing but praise since. He’s very excited about his studies now. Still very cunning and ambitious.
I mentioned in his matchup description him being easy to manipulate due to his insecurities (also true in love; my baby was in an abusive relationship for some time, his first love, but he’s okay now (his sister and Lyn avenged him)) and hurting someone he loved because of it: that’s actually Lyn. When he was younger and still dabbling with magic, he started to learn things outside of his level due to the manipulations of his grandfather (that guy is a whole other story, we’re not gonna get into it). Lyn tried to warn him that he was going too far, but tired of never being taken seriously, he tried to prove her wrong and accidentally injured her (and then ran away for two weeks because he had no idea what to do and had a major breakdown). Lyn lost her sight from her left eye; she got most of her sight back now, though not all, but couldn’t get rid of the scar on her face. He felt particularly guilty because out of the entire group, Lyn was the one he had the closest kinship and relationship with due to them being the youngest and certified troublemakers and he couldn’t cope with what he did to her. Lyn was the one who forgave him, helped him get out of that bad mental place, reject their grandfather and get help, and they’ve become even closer ever since, basically inseparable. (Which to me makes the fact I ship them both with TWINS hilarious. Actually damn, that whole thing reminds me a lot of Saeran attacking Saeyoung too because of his mental state and Saeyoung being the one to help him anyway. I’m starting to understand why I ship them with the twins).
… hope you don’t regret asking, anon x’DD

Regarding Allurance
Soooo since many people are confused, and even angry, about Allurance, I wanted to do a breakdown about the past and possible outcomes on what appears to be Lance and Allura’s relationship!
As far as it goes right now, literally EVERY SINGLE SHIP has gotten a moment. Plance has had the hand holds, ‘Don’t you touch her!’ and ‘Lance/Pidge, No!”. Klance has had the entire episode of when Sendak’s crystal corrupted the Castle of Lions, Lance almost stepping down as the Red Paladin, and Lance trying to bolster Keith’s confidence as a leader. Kallura has had the entire Taujeer episode, and the arc of Allura coming to terms with the fact that Galra does not come hand in hand with evil. Shallura (even tho Shiro has been confirmed gay, therefore, Shallura might be dead) has had Shiro and Allura being the actual parents of the daycare that is Voltron. Sheith has had literally Keith and Shiro’s entire relationship, especially Keith telling Shiro he’s like a brother to him, and he loves him. Punk has had Pidge and Hunk geeking out over nerdism. Alluratt (is that it?) literally gives Matt an entire anime as f sequence declaring his love to Allura. Hunay is self-explanatory. And so on and so forth. The point is, is that finding ‘proof’ for ships doesn’t work much anymore. There is proof on all sides, and at this point, and just focusing on proof, we’d end up with a ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ ending where they all just end up dating each other. But we know this is not going to be the case, because we’ve only gotten two confirmed LGBTQ+ characters in Voltron, and the managers would definitely red light a huge polyamory relationship. And I highly doubt the majority of Voltron’s target audience would be would be happy with that.  Also, sorry about a long paragraph on all ships, this post is supposed to be about Allurance.
So, my point is that all relationships have been explored to some extent, and by purely looking at what the showrunners have given us, we have an impasse with over 12 different forks in the road as to who could end up together. Focusing on the current content might not work anymore for any ship, except for Allurance.
It is very clear that Allura has started to reciprocate feelings for Lance, due to the self-explanatory blushing on both sides in season 7. Plus Veronica teasing Lance about it, even if it is extremely cliché and a dead giveaway to what the writers are hinting at. Not to ignore Lance dying for Allura, and her bringing him back to life.
The writers are making explicitly clear that they aren’t ‘just friends’ anymore. However, as they explore this road, the end game could be a lot more complicated than we thought.
So, here are my thoughts:
1. You’ve probably heard this a million times, but many people are complaining that Lance is Allura’s rebound. Which I totally see.
2. Lance has not has his own ‘moment’ in the show yet. Pidge has had it with her family, Keith has had it with Leadership, Shiro has had stepping up as the pilot of the Atlas+ literally the entire show (because he is a tortured soul), Allura has had many episodes to show getting over the loss of her father+Altea, and Hunk has had an arc throughout season 7 where he really steps up to the plate as the glue of the team. Lance has not had a serious arc yet, but it has been heavily hinted at in season 2 where he describes his teammates. He goes off on a tangent, and says. “Maybe I don’t have a thing. I mean, the team wouldn’t have me stick around if I didn’t contribute, right?” He’s also had his moment of almost quitting Voltron through feeling like he is a replaceable cog in the wheel. + possible foreshadowing in the Voltron book. This kind of characterization and the growth required to overcome this personal issue is much more than a ‘and the moral of the story is: ___” episode. So, we know Lance hasn’t tackled this arc in his story yet. So we only have season 8 left for this!
Which brings me to my next point.
3. Lance will become aware that he is, in fact, comparable to Allura’s rebound. And with his whole inferiority complex, that would hit hard. His entire flirty and cocky nature is about making himself feel less inadequate. He is basically walking insecurity. This is doubled, by being constantly compared and reminded of Keith back at the Garrison. Knowing that, to someone he loves, he is only the second choice, would really force his confidence issue to light. It would probably take up an entire 1-2 episodes to cover this topic. By forcing the hand of his insecurities using Allurance as a part of the driving force, we could deduct that Allurance has a possibility of not working out because of this, and it could only exist for the sake of plot and Lance’s road to maturity and true confidence.
4. A bonus point I would like to make is the possibility of Lance not getting with anyone at all. Lance’s whole thing at the beginning of the series and throughout it is impressing the ladies. A big part of his characterization, would either be finally going after someone he really cares about, or stepping away from dating all together. I mean, what an arc that would be, amirite?
5. So, if Allurance is purely a plot point in Lance’s character arc, we have the possibility of it not being the end game. The whole purpose of Allurance could be giving Lance confidence after the issue of being ‘second best’ comes up.
6. Another complaint I’ve been seeing is that Allurance’s relationship is only now beginning to develop, in the second to last, if not last, season. Many people are like: “So, are you kidding me??? When it comes to relationships, it is always developed from early on, not rushed! This is forced!” And while I agree, the Voltron crew are pro-fess-ion-als. They write for a living. They have lovingly created the characters that we adore on screen. We can talk all we want about Voltron’s writing ‘weak points’, but at the end of the day, this is a kids show. Some points are going to be weaker. But, my point is, if they want to genuinely develop Allurance in season 8, they are going to do a fantastic job of it. Can you imagine them delving deep into the two’s relationship in the last season? And getting attached to Allurance as a pairing? It gets me excited thinking about the possibility of a nicely developed relationship.
I mean, except for if they go forward with Kacxa. In which case, all hope is lost. But that is a whole other topic.
In conclusion, Allurance is going to be a thing. At least for a couple of episodes. Whether it stays or not is going to be the big question. And if it’s canon, great! It was already hinted at (but not developed!) at the beginning. If not, great! It’s part of further developing our Cuban Boy’s character.
What do you guys think? Please keep negativity to a minimum. I know that shipping can be controversial in the Voltron fandom, but I’m only hear to get my thoughts out. Not to fight anyone, and not to diss/kill someone else’s ship.
(Also, I had to change some of the wording because I made a Sheith shipper mad. Sorry, my dude ;( that was no beuno of me.)

Weekly Voltron Fic Recs #58
Rules: You can find past weekly rec lists here, and non-list recs in my general fic rec tag. Also follow @maychorianrecs for individually tagged posts, the easier to search and reblog. This is stuff I like, and I have a huge bias toward Lance, hurt/comfort, and general fluff, in that order. Gen unless otherwise noted. Please comment on the fics if you read and enjoy them!
A Crack in the Foundation by Emerald_Ashes Words: 3,553 Author’s Summary: A rescue goes wrong. It ends up leaving Hunk and Lance stranded, severely injured, and with no means of escape. My Comments: Based on a prompt I gave the author a while ago, but I totally forgot about it and I would have read this fic anyway, haha. Love this scenario, obviously, and it’s written very well. Hunk is such a sweet guy, even when Lance is rambling and near-delirious from a concussion.
Reflections by hollo Words: 2,246 Author’s Summary: ~ originally printed in Starboy: A Lance Zine ~ …Nostalgia filled him, a distinct and deep sadness that was becoming like a close friend. It came now and then, sometimes falling on him swiftly and sometimes creeping up, silent and nearly unforeseeable, like a thief in the dark. He’d thought he’d get used to it eventually, used to the distance and the lack and how everything and everyone he knew and loved was so, so far away. Sometimes he thought he had - but maybe he’d just gotten used to putting it aside, ignoring it during the day and during the missions so he wouldn’t be distracted from whatever Voltron was being faced with at the time. And they were faced with so much, an entire universe of unknown that they had to face down and deal with, day after day after day… My Comments: Lovely and bittersweet interlude with Lance and the blue lion.
Compromised by gringle for StandinShadow Words: 3,117 Author’s Summary: Keith ignored the rolling sensation of pain radiating from his stomach. “I’m uh… I’ve been injured. I can make it-” probably. Keith was never a betting man in the sense that he’d think in terms of probabilities. He just worked toward a goal, and he either succeeded or failed, and he can’t fail this. “-I just need more time.” “That information is invaluable in overcoming this sector of Empire Control. You have five minutes, or until we’re compromised ourselves,” Kolivan stated, grim and final. Another click, and Kolivan’s voice went silent. My Comments: Great hurt!Keith and concerned Kolivan, with an especially amusing ending. I would love to see a part two, though.
Unrelenting by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions) Words: 6,195 Author’s Summary: Hufflepuffs are loyal. They’re just. They’re hardworking. Not everyone sees it that way. Hunk does, but it’s not always easy. For Hunk’s Birthday My Comments: Part of a previously recced series, and you should totally read the whole thing. I love this view of Hunk, all the different aspects of him through the years. It’s very realistic and really reminded me of adolescence, that kind of awkwardness and uncertainty that eventually gives way to understanding and pride, or at least acceptance of self. Great stuff.
Keepsake by fandomtrashpanda Words: 2,277 Author’s Summary: Hunk never takes off his headband because it’s the last piece of Samoa he has. *set before and during the events of the show* My Comments: Wonderful little moment with Hunk. I love the idea of the headband being a memento from someone important to him, and there was some nice stuff with Hunk and Lance, too.
Missed Scenes (and Misunderstandings) by LitDragonWagon Words: 6,224 Author’s Summary: Lance isn’t sure why Shiro hates him, but he wishes he could figure it out and fix it. Featuring the worst of misunderstandings, Lance’s inferiority complex, Shiro the most awkward bean, Keith the accidental relationship therapist (who solves problems with violence), Hunk n’ Pidge as the brains, and far too many italics. Gen fic. My Comments: Sequel to a previously recced fic. So, so sweet. I adore Lance and Shiro getting closer, platonically, and all the hugging and cuddling is wonderful.
Black Paladin Week by kitsune13tamlin Words: 7,846 Author’s Summary: I am slow at updates but over on tumblr there was a Shiro-week (check the tag blackpaladinweek for all kinds of Shiro goodness) a while back that I participated in and this is the collection of those short stories. Each day had a different subject and each chapter is the story for the new subject. Chapter title is the day’s subject of choice. Seven short Shiro stories simultaneously! My Comments: Wonderful collection of ficlets, some angstier than others. Very well-written and lyrical prose, a pleasure to read.
The Sparkle in Her Eye by heroami Words: 3,002 Author’s Summary: When was the last time Allura left the Castle for a non-mission reason? The Balmera? That was forever ago. No wonder she was so disappointed. And to think, all she wanted was something sparkly. Lance paused as an idea began to form in his head. It was high risk, but could lead to high reward. My Comments: So sweet and adorable. I absolutely believe that Lance would do this, and Allura’s reaction was so cute.
A Name By Any Other by IcyPanther Words: 3,558 Author’s Summary: To avoid another one of Shiro’s exhausting training scenarios, the Paladins settle on a bonding activity and opt to talk about their names. What they thought would be a light-hearted topic turns deeply personal when they realize that no name is as simple as it appears. For behind every name there is a story just waiting to be told. —– “Names?” Shiro repeated, raising an eyebrow. Pidge nodded vigorously. “Yes. Like, how we all got our names. Other than Keith none of us are using our actual ones, right?” “Excuse me?” Lance protested. “Lance is my real name!” “You’re from Cuba,” she said pointedly. “And we’ve all heard you go on about your siblings. They have Hispanic names. You do not. Therefore, Lance is not your real name.” My Comments: Fluffy and sweet with just a touch of angst and some lovely bonding. Great read.
these old bones by achievingelysium Words: 4,937 Author’s Summary: He’s always been fascinated with dinosaurs. Keith isn’t entirely sure why—maybe it’s because their footprints are still here, even after so long. Maybe he’s hearing the echoes of history calling for him. Maybe, just maybe, it’s because he sees himself in those old bones. A Keith character study told in three parts. Originally written for the Aphelion zine. My Comments: Lovely language and prose in this character study and backstory for Keith. All of images and emotions were vivid and striking.
oh my god, he’s in quarantine by prettyshiroic (AnalystProductions) Words: 9,532 Author’s Summary: Whilst with the blade of Marmora, Keith gets sick and is put in quarantine. It’s not at all what Matt expects. - There are some talks to be had. And Matt’s attempts bring karma to the yard. He is such a fool to have not foreseen any of this. My Comments: I absolutely adore this characterization Matt, goofy and nerdy and caring and big-brotherly, especially since Keith needs a whole lot of big-brothering. A real pleasure to read.
The Real MacGyver by A_Zap Words: 4,864 Author’s Summary: Some people talk about how someone can be the genuine article, the real McCoy. In that case, Hunk is the real MacGyver, capable of making whatever the team needs from what he has on hand. 5 times that Hunk used his engineering skills to help out the Team/the cause, and one times he used his skills for fun. My Comments: Adorable and heartwarming and amazing, with just a touch of angst. Hunk is so very much the best, and it’s great to see him getting some proper appreciation. The end was fun and funny, too.
Make My Messes Matter by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions) Words: 4,937 Author’s Summary: After a nightmare about the Galra ship, Ryou tries to sneak out of the castle to deal. On the way out, he’s spotted by Keith My Comments: Part of a previously recced series. I love Ryou connecting with the Voltron team and making relationships on his own terms, and this was particularly nice for the resolution of some conflict earlier in the series between he and Keith. Yellow was a wonderful additional presence in the fic, too.
Together We’ll Be by hanbunnotsuki Words: 4,570 Author’s Summary: At the end of a mission, Team Voltron find a lost space-puppy, separated from its pack. While they try to get the little one back to its family, the team adopts it as one of their own. Even the briefest and littlest encounter can leave its mark on one’s heart. My Comments: Absolutely heartwarming, and so adorable. It was lovely to watch all of the members of Team Voltron bond with a furry little friend, though it couldn’t last forever.
blue by FeyduBois Words: 2,089 Author’s Summary: Lance is stranded on an alien planet while the paladins regroup. He was just going to chill for a bit, he didn’t expect to fall prey to a predatory hallucinogenic jungle, and he certainly didn’t expect to meet the Blue Lion’s last paladin. My Comments: Very fun and interesting read. The descriptions were entrancing, and the previous Blue Paladin was very cool. I like what canon gave us for Lance’s predecessor, but this alternate vision is wonderful too.

Alright, HERE we go! Awhile ago I had an idea for a MP100/Voltron crossover, and after mentioning it to @x-i-l-verify and loooots of brainstorming later, we have...*gestures vaguely* this. These are more or less screenshot redraws just to kind of get across who is who. :) More info, reasonings and musings under the cut, because well...it got long...
Teru’s Role: Shiro (Black Paladin)
A year ago, Teruki Hanazawa (around his early twenties in this universe) was chosen for an exploration mission to Kerberos.
Teru was always at the top of his class at the Galaxy Garrison and took the job proudly. He believed he was something special, and it was only right he would be selected for such a prestigious mission.
Then he and his small team got kidnapped by an alien race: an empire called Claw.
He was forced into slavery, forced to fight, to kill, just to survive.
Somewhere along the way, Teru lost his arm. Some time and excruciating experiments later, he had a new one. It made killing easier.
He hates it.
After being forced to endure and commit horrors unimaginable for so long, Teruki Hanazawa realized (you’re horrible, no one is coming to save you, no one cares about you) that he was rather insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe. Being treated like dirt for a year would do that to a guy.
By the time he managed to escape and make it back to Earth, Teru saw himself as nothing more than a commoner.
When the time came for him to lead Voltron, Teru could think of no one less qualified or deserving to pilot the Black Lion than himself. But someone had to do it...
Tome’s Role: Pidge (Green Paladin)
Tome always believed there was something more out there in the stars. She knew there were aliens out there, and she wanted to find them for herself.
Tome believed joining the Galaxy Garrison would be just the way to do it.
There she could train to reach for the stars, not to mention she was able to find suspicious extraterrestrial hints along the way.
She’s pretty tech savvy in this AU because she had the proper drive, resources and training (not as good as Pidge, but still pretty much the group techie).
Further out in the desert, there’s a particular cave covered in strange lion markings that she took interest in...luckily there was a shack nearby where she could frequently visit and organize her findings.
Through a bizarre series of events, Tome finally made it to space.
By the time Tome finally discovered real aliens, she couldn’t be happier.
She just never would have expected how big a role she would have in a massive intergalactic alien war, fighting as the Green Paladin of Voltron.
Shou’s Role: Keith (Red Paladin)
This one’s the most iffy but here we go
Shou is the son of the big boss of Claw in canon, ergo he’s the Emperor's son in this AU. He has no idea about it though.
Shou’s mother, one of Emporor Touicirou’s consorts, began to fear for her unborn son’s life and fled the Claw empire (with the help of this AU’s equivalent of the Blade of Mamora, probably the 7th division crew?? They did defect in canon so...). Shou was born on a far away planet called Earth, and his mother used alien technology to safely disguise them both.
His mother passed away when he was very young. Shou can’t remember what she looks like. All he has left of her is a little knife with a strange symbol on it (subject to change).
Years later, Shou’s adoptive parents enroll him in the Galaxy Garrison, hoping the strict schooling will discipline their mischievous, troublesome child.
Shou is absolutely bored at the Garrison. He is an extremely gifted pilot though.
He sees Tome sneaking around the school sometimes and figures she’s up to no good. He wants in.
Shou and Tome end up searching for aliens together; Shou more because it’s fun and not really having any particular interest in aliens, Tome not knowing that an alien already befriended her (it’s not like he knows either).
Serizawa’s Role: Hunk (Yellow Paladin)
Seri’s still plagued with severe social anxiety, but there are no psychic powers in this AU so he never felt the need to isolate himself to protect others.
Serizawa is a chef in the Garrison cafeteria. This way he has minimal social interaction while still being a positive contributor to society.
This doesn’t stop Reigen from singling him out.
Reigen believes Serizawa makes the best takoyaki around, and kinda takes the guy under his wing after that.
Serizawa suddenly finds himself with a friend to eat lunch with. He’s kind of freaked out by this and thinks it’s a one time fluke, but Reigen keeps coming back and keeps talking to him. Seri quickly warms up to this strange but friendly man.
In order to help Serizawa more with his social anxiety, Reigen has him come sit in on some of his classes once in awhile. Seri ends up as a sort of unofficial Teacher’s Assistant.
Seri’s always terrified the students will hate him and he always brings snacks for the class.
He really has nothing to worry about though. The kids love Serizawa.
Reigen’s Role: Lance (Blue Paladin)
Reigen is a teacher at the Galaxy Garrison, so I guess he’s actually “Shishou” this time around lol.
He teaches history or English or something, since I do see the Garrison as more of a university/school of sorts (Hunk did mention a “principal” in the show), and Reigen wouldn’t be able to handle being a drill sergeant (the guy wouldn’t have the heart to yell at kids all day).
As mentioned before, Reigen noticed Serizawa struggling with anxiety, and one day took it upon himself to kinda help and mentor him.
One day on the way out from working, Reigen and Serizawa catch two students sneaking out of the building past curfew.
They follow Tome and Shou out to their little alien research base, and Reigen confronts them.
Right as Reigen is about to reprimand the kids, a meteor crashes to Earth. Shou and Tome run off to investigate, stealing a hoverbike in the process. As the closest authority figures, Reigen and Serizawa follow and end up as chaperones of sorts for these reckless kids.
Reigen is the true Space Dad in this AU (sorry Teru :P).
Things proceed pretty much as canon Voltron episode 1 from there: they find Teru in the landing site (Tome: “An alien?!” Shou: “Nah, isn’t he that jerk that was always at the top of our class...?” Reigen: “He’s still a kid, and we’re getting him out of here, let’s GO.”), rescue him and regroup back at Tome’s conspiracy shack, the accidental discovery of Blue Lion, Reigen waltzing in and accidentally ending up as her paladin, the crazy flight and wormhole to the castleship (*points to my first picture at the top lol*), the discovery of the “last Alteans in the universe” in cryopods...which leads to...
Mob’s Role: Allura (can pilot all lions, Yellow is his favorite)
Mob is a Prince and was next in line for the throne. Now that he and Ritsu are apparently the last Alteans alive, he’s not sure what to make of it.
He was always insecure and even scared of his impending kingship, or leading in general. He has been trained thoroughly for the role as he grew up, so he’s a more capable and levelheaded guide than canon Mob would be.
He still speaks quite softly, but there is always an earnest strength in his tone that makes others stop and listen instead of talking over him.
Mob is weaker than most Alteans (due to some chronic illness like his anemia from canon) but that doesn’t mean he still can’t fight or throw a person across the room. He’s still very strong by human standards.
He still would prefer to use words instead of physically fighting in any conflict.
Mob is in his early twenties in Earth years, about Teru’s age of mental maturity (sorry he still looks so young in the picture...). They end up bonding over their insecurities in leadership.
Mob also bonds with Serizawa in having natural affinities for Yellow Lion.
The space mice may or may not be small alien cats instead in this AU, not sure.
Mob stumbles out of the Cryopod, dazed and confused. He quickly takes on his role as a guide for the Paladins, and does his absolute best to help them learn to pilot their lions and form Voltron.
Ristu’s Role: Coran (can pilot all lions, doesn’t really have a preference)
Ritsu is Mob’s half brother in this AU. We took some artistic liberties in this, having this make Ritsu as more of a servant/bodyguard to the royal family than as an actual heir (hello, inferiority complex from canon...).
Mob always treated Ritsu like family nonetheless. Ritsu does care about Mob a great deal and guards him with his life.
He’s more around Shou’s and Tome’s age in mental maturity.
Ritsu is...intense for an Altean. He kinda scares everyone a little bit (except for Mob, who’s lived with him as long as he can remember, and Teru, who’s already Seen It All and can’t really be phased by much anymore;;;;; )
Very jumpy. Even more than canon since I imagine being a bodyguard leaves you more on edge than not.
Came out of the Pod fighting like Coran did, and probably took longer to calm down.
He is also the “drill sergeant” in their Voltron training exercises (wiping the floor with everyone and being Mr. Drill Sargent Nasty: "No, Brother, I'm not going too hard on them! Claw isn't going to defeat itself! SHOU GET YOUR ASS BACK IN HERE I SEE YOU TRYING TO SNEAK OUT, DROP AND GIVE ME THIRTY." -thank you for that Xi <3)
Mob brings the juice pouches and guides the quieter, trust building exercises like the maze and mental lions. He is also there to make sure Ritsu doesn’t run the Paladins and himself into the ground.
Mob and Ritsu balance each other rather well in guiding the paladins, actually.
Shou at some point gets it in his head that Ritsu is just a stick in the mud and needs to be befriended. Ritsu’s not too pleased by this, but then eventually does mellow out by some miracle.
In fact, he does grow rather fond of this odd band of humans, and starts thinking that maybe, maybe, his brother really is right in thinking they might be capable of saving the universe...
....well that’s super long for a set-up post, but hey, might as well put the ideas down where I can :’) More to come...probably....

4, 10? ouo
okay firstly im super sorry it took me so long to respond to these, thursdays im out of the house from 8 in the morning til about half 11 at night (tho i get 20 minutes at home at one point with i use to take a nap) and then go back to work the next day so ive only gotten to these this evening 3
4. What is your strongest dragon’s (eitherphysically or emotionally) worst fear? Have they or will they everencounter it?
onestly you could argue forever about whos actually the “strongest” since strength is relative n all that stuff. but the most obvious choice would be Lockheed, army commander and personal retainer to Queen Niet when required.
She belongs to a warrior bloodline called House Lladamedhellen, a long-lineaged family of paladins who’re fate-bound towards violence. The majority of the house members aren’t blessed with powers gifted to them by the minor God they worship (quite the opposite actually - they have enough magic a dragon requires to stay alive, but have no extra reserves and cannot cast flight magic), but occasionally they do maniftest; Lockheed is one such dragon.
Because of their natural draw to wars, House Lladamedhellen have a hefty reputation as fierce but generally good alligned warriors, and so all the children born into the house are raised to meet that ideal. Lockheed has grown up with the “duty above all” mentality drilled into her from the moment she was born, and even moreso once her powers manifested - she was to learn to fight, to be compassionate, to protect the innocent and most important of all, to put the needs of others before your own.
However, despite the well-intended teachings, growing up with a strict training regimen in a household with a rigid moral code has her social skills somewhat lacking. Lockheed has compassion, she cannot stand to see people hurting, but her ability to properly connect with people is almost nonexistant to begin with. She puts herself on a pedastal, but in a way that is less boastful and arrogant, instead holding herself to a standard so high she thinks herself above basic human needs simply because she has been raised to believe so.
When she first comes to Ogygia, she is cold, closed off and emotionally stifled. Even after she befriends the other founding members, and even finds romantic love with two of them, she frequently neglects them because she is too occupied in her need to help strangers. It’s unintentional of course, but what she fails to realise is that in neglecting herself, she is also neglecting those close to her. Slowly, over years and years, she learns to better herself and be more mindful of balancing her duty with her own needs.
So she has two biggest fears: failing to protect an innocent, and slipping back into her old ways. Even though she has learnt that its okay for her to put herself first sometimes, she’s still very dedicated to her sense of duty as a hero, and having trained her whole life to protect others, the idea of not being able to do so is something she worries about greatly. In addition, because she’s now aware of how her actions can hurt her loved ones, she fears doing so.
As for encountering those fears? Unfortunately she faces both in one unfortunate situation.
As the city grows and faces more and more conflict, Lockheed, along with her lovers, Magpie and Bermuda, spend more and more time away from home and from each other and their family, because of their various duties as founders and rulers of the city of Ogygia. At this point, their children, Europa, Io and Ganymede are old enough to care for themselves, but without true authority to keep them in line, Io’s cruel and agressive nature is left unchecked.
Io resents her younger brother, Ganymede, for inheriting their bloodlines powers while she herself does not despite her belief that she rightly deserves them as she fits the Household ideal of being a powerful warrior. Io has an inferiority complex that she covers up with anger and an obsession with being stronger, and begins taking out her frustrations on Ganymede. She blames him for all the problems in her life, and physically and emotionally abuses him.
Europa, the eldest child, faced many of her own emotional problems early in her life, and still lacks confidence - she does nothing about the situation because she’s afraid Io will turn on her too, and simply avoids the problem by rarely coming home.
When the civil war breaks out, Ganymede reaches out to the Undisonus, the enemy of his parents, asking them to take him with them when they leave the city in the hopes of escaping his sister.
Because of their near constant abscence, neither Lockheed nor the childrens other parents are aware of this. Even Ganymede vanishing raises little concern with them, because their children have always been able to come and go as they please. It’s only once Europa returns home one day and points out how it’s out of a character for Ganymede to do such a thing because he often finds it difficult to leave the house out of fear, that their parents actually begin to worry. Lockheed is especially frantic in her worrying because of the realisation that she’s been spending so much time involved in her work that she didn’t even know her own son’s rampant phobias.
When reports finally reach them that Ganymede has been sighted with the Undisonus, on the opposite side of the battlefield, and Europa tearfully confesses everything about their home life, everything comes crashing down around Lockheed. Once more her duty has led her to not only neglect those closest to her, but to actively drive them away and in doing so, has led her to fail to protect an innocent, her own son, from years of unwarrented suffering.
The realisation truly crushes her, and while her husband and wife do their best to support her through their own grief and guilt, they both know that something inside her spirit has broken that can never be repaired.
10. What is the social hierarchy like inyour clan? Is it possible to climb the ranks?
Ogygia is a new city and is still governed by the majority of its founding members - these hold the most authority, which most likely wont change unless they either die or choose to step down. Thus far in the cities lifetime, there’s been little opposition to this as the founders have been relatively successful in building the city up and keeping its people safe, although this confidance has wavered somewhat because of the events of the civil war.
The founders do not run the city solely by themselves however, and the royal court is made up of a variety of people such as ambassadors from allied clans, or other governing bodies within the city. Ambassadors change more on the will of the ally clan and the strength of the alliance, but the other governing bodies may change more frequently - Ogygia does have a voting system for such things - so gaining favour with the people is a good way to move up in the system.
Ogygia’s military doesn’t have rule over the people, but because Ogygia is small and under the watchful eye of many a surrounding territory, the people of the city highly respect the soldiers for keeping them safe. So while they have no official power within the city (with the exception of Lockheed, the army Commander), high ranking militiamen do gain a lot of respect and social status, and are very popular and well-known amongst the citizens. Some, such as the Head Tactician, LisMirolu, are considered household names among the permanent residents.
Because of its high population of travellers and merchants, social circles within Ogygia are impermanent and change frequently.
Among Ogygia’s merchant and criminal populations, Bitya’s name often arises. Even those who rarely travel into Ogygia know that Bitya is the one who holds the cities underbelly in the palm of her hand, and that getting close to her is a surefire way to move up (or perhaps down?) in the cities depths - but it is also worth noting that for some this is no easy feat, as she is rarely willing to make dealings with men.

10 things I want to see/know in Voltron season 3
So season 3 of Voltron has now been confirmed
Yes I’m excited but there are MANY things that I want to see in the next season 1. Where is Shiro?
Yeah this is probably something everyone wants to know right now. I too want to know the same, but I have a gut feeling that the show will not gives us that right away. I believe they will leave the mystery out for a few episodes before we find out the answers, to leave suspension in the air. But I think that Shiro is in the astral projection state, but his body is somewhere else? Only your soul can go to the astral projection state, not your physical body. This was shown in Space Mall. So maybe during the finale, Shiro’s body ejected from his Lion after getting hit by Zarkon? I dunno. 2. Who was the Galra in the spaceship?
I believe the Galra is either somewhat related to Keith in someway, and will have a important position in season 3. I mean why else will they include those scenes in season 2? Maybe they are apart of the Galra resistence? Or maybe they aren’t even Galra, they could be Altean thats why their face wasn’t shown? 3. For Allura to pilot the black lion
I mean it makes the most sense. Allura did so in the original series, and Keith and red have a strong relationship for him to go lead the black lion. I want to see Allura take action. Although they can’t form Voltron its the best alternative the paladins have. 4. The Galra invade Earth
I feel this will happen since aliens have been in contact with earth before. The blue lion was on earth, there are alien off-springs on Earth (i.e Keith), the Garrison knew about Shiro/Matt/Mr Holts disappearance. Zarkons mission is to conquer the universe and he almost has, but Earth has yet to be conquered. I feel like the Galra will target Earth next. I don’t want it to happen but it seems fitting since 5.  Matt in the Galra resistance
We know Matt was broken out of Galra prison by the resistance, so its likely who will join them to beat Zarkon and free prisoners along with his Dad. I also want Pidge to find her family.
6.  Lance and Hunk’s character development
Season 1 focused on Pidge and season 2 was on Keith. Shiro also had development in both seasons, while Hunk had small development in season 1, and Lance had less. I want the show to focus on Lance’s insecurity particularly his inferior complex with Keith. And the fact that he doesn’t feel he has a place on the team like the other paladins. I want to know what motivates Hunk and Lance to fight against the Galra. Shiro, Allura, Keith and Pidge all have something that ties them in with the war. But Lance and Hunk don’t have anything. Plus Hunk needs less food jokes and more serious dialogue. Maybe he can get this with his character arc around Shay and the Balmeria. 7. Keith vs Lotor
I would like to see a showdown between these two, just like Shiro had with Zarkon. That will be cool. 8. Keith and Shiro’s relationship I would like a flashback of how Shiro and Keith met, and how there bond lead Keith to see Shiro as his brother. They hinted at it in season 2 but not clear enough. It would be nice to see
9. Shiro’s disappearance affecting Allura We know Keith is not going to handle Shiro’s disappearance well, and neither will the paladins but what about Allura? It seems Allura deeply cares about Shiro, and has shown to trust him over her own instincts several times. She even sacrificed herself for him in season 1. I feel like there is something there between them both. In season 2 with that small moment in The Eye of the Storm. In Blackout when Shiro called out Allura’s name and was concerned with her well being. And there are plenty more subtle scenes between them. 10. For Lance and Keith to become friends
Right now all the paladins get along except Keith and Lance. They seem like acquaintances at best and rivals. Lance seems like he is trying to prove he is on the same level as Keith, when Keith is too focused on defeating the Galra to care. The two did warm up to each other in season 1 when the castle was taken over, but in season 2 they back to being rivals again. I can’t think of anything else but those are the main things Voltron need to show and address in season 3 or at least before the show ends.

Voltron AU Pokemon
so listen to me
Voltron
and it’s in Pokemon AU
but with Zarkons stalinist propaganda in Hoenn
lemme explain
Shiro: - one of the astronauts in Mossdeep Space Center - working with Matt, a scientist, and his father, their boss - they get MIA while trying to launch the rocket (idk exactly why but maybe has something to do with Deoxys or Rayquaza) - is kind of like not champion version of Steven Stone - at some point comes back from space with a fucken Deoxys, but without Matt and his father and one arm (nobody really knows)
Allura: - princess from another realm or/and time (in which there's mega evolution?? did she bring them mega stones? would that work? i have to reeducate myself on pokemon) - fallen from a hole in space (like lucina in fe:a lmao) - in her alternate universe Zarkon is some kind of dictator of the world and has ultimate power and shit - and she wanted to go back in time and prevent it but she's there and can't exactly go back - but she still wants to save this realm i think - so she looks for the most powerful trainers to prevent Zarkon from becoming The Strongest™ - she might not know that she's not in the past of her realm?? idk its really tricky - has Lunala and Solgaleo with her
Coran: - rly weird scientist in Mossdeep Space Center, astronomer - hides his Hoopa under a hat. he's that ridiculus. - turns out that he was with Allura and is from her time and realm but he was dropped two years sooner than her by an accident and tried to adapt to this world - many tears when theyre reunited - knows his shit.
Pidge: - totally uninterested in fighting/contests/real life kiddo - but pokemon love them - after their father and brother mysteriously dissapear they start to train - and they go on a quest to Find Out The Truth™ - they make improvements for existing iteams - still genius hacker. also lowkey thief. - i see them with Shaymin some time later, or maybe Celebi. - and Genesect. they would Save Him from bad guys and it would be savage. - also has an outstanding knowledge about evolution methods (they went to school when others were fooling around okay)
Keith: - kid who was sent by professor on a quest to complete the pokedex - but went MIA after Shiro's dissapearance - probably tried to bring him back but Shiro brought himself back - also really good fighter, even maybe too enthusiastic (he's the one who fights every preschooler on his way) - since he beat some gym leaders he became kind of famous and it's very awkward for him - I see him with Entei because Reasons - also rivalry with Lance
Lance: - that kid who did not get pokedex - but went on an adventure nevertheless, with his best friend, Hunk - trainer-coordinator fusion - rly good at catching pokemon ("SUCK ON IT PROF YOU WANTED KEEF YOU GOT UR MISSING, NEVER LISTENING, STUPID MULLET KEEF") - has inferiority complex. totally understandable. - his legendary partner is Suicune - has someone from family in like every place in Hoenn and other regions too - thinks of Keith as his rival because. srsly prof
Hunk: - already known because he has one of the brightest minds in generation and is a really good engineer - invented some great shit - also pokemon love him so fucking much that they even hatch faster - has Landorus because Landorus is a fucken BEAST have you ever seen that thing in a fight - i really want to give him his own culinary show in tv okay
Zarkon: - HE'S A LEAGUE CHAMPION IN HOENN - which also makes him rly famous - also has his own Team (should i name them Team Galra that sounds so fucking ridiculus) - which is evil - but everybody is so brainwashed that they believe that Zarkon's evil team is good and helps people - that's why i called it Zarkons stalinist propaganda - he's like that but without a moustache and in pokemon world - he wants world domination and Arceus and everything - so our paladins (that might be a code name) have to stop him
Lotor is probably, like, Zarkon's even more famous son who went to other regions and beat the league in some of them and is a playboy and rich
wanted to give them some not-legendary pokemon, cause they of course have them
but i pissed myself laughing already while thinking about Zarkon with his god-goat so
ARE YOU IN OR ARE YOU IN?

im. gonna rant for a bit about lance because i literally wrote down three pages to a friend who didn’t even ask about my opinion about him but hey, it turned out my rant made some sense so i might as well share
season 2 spoilers ahead!
this is about lance’s issues basically
so lance comes from a huge family and i’ve seen a lot of people going like “okay so living inside a big family must mean you have to be really loud and obnoxious in order to get attention” but i’m guessing that’s not the case for lance. inside his family he didn’t have to go out of his way to get noticed because he’s the older brother (or so is shown in the picture we all know) and the problem would be the total opposite of that: he got too much attention from his little siblings and he kinda had the obligation to take care of them since they were born, so here the “Good Older Brother Who Must Be Perfect” role was born.
now lance is really proud of this role, he can tell his siblings love him and the rest of his family as well. this is something he does good, amazing even, he feels needed.
then lance goes to the garrison and his first year is horrible. he misses his family a lot and they miss him too, and the main reason is that in the garrison he doesn’t feel like he’s important at all. the boy has huge self-steem problems and this was only bound to happen. there, he doesn’t have a job that he does just fine and there’s nobody who supports how he does said job. it’s at this point that he realizes he has to be outgoing and loud in order to stand out and get attention because he doesn’t have anything else in himself. he doesn’t have a sense of who he is without his family.
lance doesn’t consider himself a good student, or a good person in general. he has no talents and the only thing he wants to do is become a fighter pilot which he can’t even achieve because, dundun, keith.
hunk and him eventually become best friends and it is probably the best thing that’s happened to lance in his whole garrison experience because he now has someone he can rely on. of course lance would have many other friends because, well, he’s lance after all, but nobody else would reach the level of friendship he and hunk had, not even pidge later on. hunk shows him that even if his personality isn’t the best around he likes him a lot anyway. he’s such a huge pillar in his self-steem really.
he turns out to be a quite decent pilot, but not good enough. everyone else would think “okay but the best one is keith and he’s like, impossible to beat” but lance doesn’t think as simple as that, Oh No. he sees keith as someone to beat, someone who represents his own limits. there’ll always be someone who’s better than him, which is completely normal, but lance is... uh, a bit silly to put it lightly. he thinks that whatever, if there are people better than him that means no one is gonna need him. he ends up getting himself down, even more than before.
anyway, he starts looking up to keith in order to learn how to get better. he also starts looking at him more in general because he’s the physical representation of his insecurities, so lance now knows he isn’t just overthinking things. at the end of the day he realizes he actually admires keith and he’s hoping keith notices he’s a good pilot too given the fact that they’re in the same class and stuff. but Boom, it doesn’t happen.
keith tells him into his fucking face that he doesn’t remember him and lance just wanted to kill a binch at this point (who wouldn’t tho lmao). after being told that “you’re just here because the best pilot in your class got expelled” everything hurts. and back to point 0.
blue does help him a lot. after being able to pilot her and being part of voltron, he now knows he’s needed and he has a reason for existing apart from taking care of his family. inside of team voltron no one really knows much about him (apart from hunk and just barely pidge) so the last thing he wants them to know is about his issues. that’s why he acts how he acts in front of them and that’s how we see him: loud, overconfident, cocky, attention seeker, etc. the other reason of this whole act is the fact that maybe, just maybe, he’ll start to believe his own fake ego.
it doesn’t happen, or hasn’t happened yet, because we see him breaking down thinking about his family. while he was in the garrison he at least could make sure his family was okay and he was being just as missed and just generally not forgotten. now that he was out in space he probably thinks they believe he’s dead. they’re now better off without him and his life doesn’t have a meaning after all.
meanwhile, he antagonizes keith too much. that’s because he’s still the living representation of his insecurities. keith is a reminder that he still has to overcome himself and that everyone is better than him at everything. eventually he realizes he doesn’t have to surpass keith to achieve his goal. they’re in the same team and what they have to do is fight as one, not fight each other. maybe this way he’ll be noticed at last.
the bonding moment happens. lance’s actually proud of their team work and he finally considers himself to be just as good as keith. sad story he doesn’t remember it all but that’s less of a problem (for now, and not for keith lmao). they work together perfectly fine after that and lance shows he’s more clever than he seems to be. he thinks things through, unlike keith. he’s happy with himself and because keith also notices that.
second season and everything goes to shit. lance learns about keith piloting black, which lead him to get really angry when keith made that one comment about blue. keith could pilot blue if he wanted to, and lance knows it. there’s no real reason for lance to be part of voltron if anyone can pilot his supposedly assigned lion. hell, someone else would pilot her better than him for sure.
keith is just so fucking confused.... he thought they were good teammates now but lance is getting all defensive now? wtf. so anyway keith isn’t the most intelligent half-galra half-human being out there and he just thinks lance hates him. no matter how much they’ve bonded, lance will always hate him. it hurts, but keith has too many things on his mind to be worried about that too so he just ignores lance all together and acts like he doesn’t want to befriend him either. this is a mess and they have no fucking clue of what’s happening to the other.
if keith doesn’t consider him as an equal in the team lance will start thinking that he truly isn’t needed, which is what happens. to fuel the flames, shiro, HIS HERO NO LESS, ignores the good reasons lance had given him Not to choose keith to go to talk to the rebels. he acts so cold to lance, as if he really thought lance didn’t matter. (now i get it was important for keith to go with him plot wise but i’m talking from a more inner perspective of the situation). why is shiro choosing keith over him? why is shiro ignoring all his good reasoning? is keith really going to be better than him at everything? does shiro not care about lance’s situation on the team? his hero doesn’t consider him a good paladin, keith ignores him and he doesn’t see himself as someone needed on the team.
this is all in lance’s brain of course, confirmed by the lines that broke us all when he was wrongly freeing laika. he’s now alone and he can finally put into words what he thinks about team voltron. he adores every paladin and believes they’re good fighters, good people. however, this is not the case for himself.
that rant just confirms that lance has one big ass inferiority complex, and it didn’t appear from nowhere. it was there since he was a kid.
tl;dr: give lance the character development arc he deserves to inquire into his insecurities and low self-steem and let keith realize he plays a big part in that. fin.

Well, the new Voltron trailer dropped today. During it, we see this guy...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now one theory floating around the fandom is that this guy could be Prince Lotor.
For those of you who don’t know, Prince Lotor was a character from the original Voltron and GoLion.  He is the prince of the Drule Empire (Galra), being Keith’s rival and being obsessed with getting Allura to rule by his side as his queen.  He was Zarkon's son by a Altean woman, too.
With all of the changes the writers made to characters before, I think it is possible for them to go in a new and completely different direction with him, making him more complex and interesting. Not only that, the pod looks similar to the one Allura and Coran were in to escape the destruction. With him being half Galra, he would’ve had been there when that happened, saved by being shoved inside one.
In light of this, I want to make another Voltron theory with ideas paralleling YGO. Because you know I am super into a fandom when I make a comparison  post to it and YGO. xP
Anyways, @radioactivesupersonic posted an article awhile back about Lotor being Lance’s counterpart. To add on to that line of thought, what if Lotor could be like Lance’s yami?  Not on the in sense that Lotor will posses Lance through an ancient Egyptian artifact, but Lotor being a more twisted version of Lance or contrasting him somehow in general.
I’m automatically crossing off Yami Marik “Melvin” from this article, since I find a potential parallel there unlikely...unless Lance has a mental break and his mental disorder manifests itself as a Galra.
So that leaves us with Yami and Yugi or Bakura and Ryo.
I’m undercutting this because this will be a long one.
Yami/ Atem and Yugi
Yami and Yugi’s relationship is a lot more friendly, being closer to that of brothers, friends or lovers (if you are a puzzleshipper).
Make no mistake. Yami has a twisted side. At the start of the manga, he punished those who hurt Yugi by unleashing Penalty Games and well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah...
Over the course of the series, Yami calms down and communicates with Yugi, forming a friendship with him. They both care about one another.
Lance in the series is very outgoing and kind towards his friends.
If Lotor is going to contrast Lance, I can see him being darker at the start, but grow  a connection with his teammates.
Another  potential connection is that Yami and Lance are both self sacrificing.  Yami gave up everything he held dear to save his people. Before the series began, he sacrificed his life in order to seal his soul inside of the Millennium Puzzle.
And Lance took a  blast to save Coran.
Maybe Lotor has a similar side to him? Where he is willing to put his life on the line if he must.
Atem’s main goal throughout the series is finding his lost memories, which he lost through magic and being locked in a tomb for thousands of years.
Lotor could go down a similar path. In the trailer, we see Keith pulling a Galra out of a broken pod.
Tumblr media
If this guy is in fact Lotor, it could be possible he was in a sleep chamber like Allura was or got booted out of the Zarkon’s forces a long time ago.   While I don’t see him loosing all of his memories like Yami, I do think it is possible for him to be out of touch and might have lost some of his memories stored away or taken from him like Shiro. Because of this and remembering the destruction of his people, Lotor goes down a darker path to reach his goal to only calm down more  with time.
One similarity is that Lotor in Go Lion is Zarkon’s son, making him royalty. I can easily see Zarkon wanting to kill him since he would be likely successor to his throne.  If he is rebelling against his father, like he did in the origanal, the rebels would have a huge upper hand.  I don’t see the average Galra joining the cause unless they had a proper leader to take his place on the throne and were likely to win.
Bakura and Ryo.
Bakura and Ryo’s relationship is a lot darker.  Bakura cares little about his host, willing to through him under the bus when he needs too. For example, during Battle City, Bakura let Ryou to take over, just to make Atem hesitate or stop attacking him. He also sealed many of Ryo’s friend inside figurines at the start of the series to fulfil his wish to “have his friends by his side” in a twisted way.
Bakura, like Yami, is willing to go to darker places to get what he wants. Unlike Yami, that side never leaves him...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, Bakura killed Pegasus, another main villain, in the manga to get one of the Millennium Items.
Bakura is also very manipulative. He got Marik to join his side, albeit reluctantly, during Battle City. He even tricked Yugi and his friend’s multiple times that he was Ryo, which is a hard thing to pull off, especially with Yami around.
Lance can be charming when he wants to be and can win others over. In the first episode, Lance wins over Hunk to sneak out in the middle of the night.
Tumblr media
With Lotor being royal, I can easily see him picking up how to turn on the charm when it benefits him. I have no doubt that Lotor could get a whole group of people to rebel and join his cause.
Another interesting potential tie between Lotor and Bakura is the fact that they both lost everything they held dear to them, wanting blood on their hands.
For those of you who do not know, in Yu-Gi-Oh DM, Atem’s uncle, Aknadin, slaughtered a whole village of people in cold blood to create the Millennium Items, justifying this act by believing them as inferior people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bakura, or the Thief King, escaped the destruction and vowed to get revenge on the royal family for killing his family and loved ones.  He is willing to do another to anything to get revenge, even making deals with demons with dragon dicks to do so (seriously, what is up with that thing on Zorc?).  He murdered many of the pharaoh’s court and almost murder Atem, destroying Kemet in the process. That’s not even counting what he did in the present.
Lotor in the original was half Galra/half Altean. And if that is true here, Lotor’s people, his mother and a whole race of people, died at the hands of his father.   While Lotor didn’t know that tidbit about himself in the original, I find it likely they could make him damn well know or find out for the sake of giving more dimension to his character. If Lotor is Lance’s dark mirror or “yami”, that could mean that he’s a very sentimental person and family is very important to him.   And Lotor  defiantly would want Zarkon’s blood on his hands for destroying Altea and slaughtering his family.
Lance cares a lot about his family, getting homesick during episode 4. If Lotor is his “yami”, then Lotor could be like if Zarkon killed his family and those he cared about.
I can see Lotor even possibly trying to get Allura to join his side with his more darker decisions to make this happen. After all, the creators did say that Allura would be put to the test, dealing with anger and frustration about the loss of her people. What better way to test her then another Altean (or half Altean) coxing her to go to dark means to stop Zarkon?
What the hell does this have to do with Lance and Lotor?
I think if the series is trying to contrast Lotor with Lance, it could go in either of these two directions:
Lotor joins the Paladin’s side, willing to go to dark lengths for his goals.  Over time, he calms down and befriends the team. He becomes a good ruler for his people.
Lotor is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Like Lance, he can turn up the charm. The only reason he is teaming up with the Paladins is so he put himself on the throne or get revenge on his father for what he did.
With that said, these are just guesses.
Either way, I am super curious to see how they will update Lotor’s character in this, making him a more multidimensional character than in Go Lion.
