Now she has two different canon back stories because I never really liked the idea of bombs going off but there might be times where it makes people happy to have that canon known. But her main canon that I will reference the most is the first blurb under the cut.

Main Canon Backstory: Born to Catlina Rojas in Boulder, Co, she was unaware of her lineage and connection to Eden’s Gate. By the time John was arrested with his brothers she was a few months old and had been well loved by her family. Once they found out who her father was, many found it hard to raise her properly so she lived with a family friend until her mom was mentally stable again and some of the family came around to ignoring her father. Catlina never wanted her daughter to know who her father was since it appeared to John that he didn’t care about her anymore once he sent her away. When Lizette was 2, John contacted her mom to arrange for at least financial assistance to Lizette’s care. He was granted the ability to give money under strict terms and four visits before she turned 3. After this Cat had one more hospitalization for her mental health but returned quicker this time around. Cat and Lizette moved a few times throughout her childhood due to people finding out who her father was. This always started to cause problems when it came to Liz’s schooling and social interactions. After having to move Liz nearly three times in one school year, her mom finally caved and contacted John again. He was finally out of prison and transitioning to the next part of his sentence, but was still able to fulfill Cat’s wish to get their daughter into a school where there were stricter rules on looking into files and willing to accept a slightly forged birth certificate. For it being an elite private school Liz easily kept up with the other students, even surpassing them. She was on track to graduate early and start her college career when an opportunity to test her DNA comes up. It is during that test that she gets the first clue as to the identity of her father, but the question becomes if she wants to get to know him after all that he’s done. With her friend by her side she starts digging into her past hoping to find answers to questions she never knew she had.

New Dawn Backstory: The bombs have gone off and by some miracle Catlina came out of it mostly unscathed. Lizette was born a few days after the bombs have detonated and lived with her mother and others caught while in the hospital under ground for seven years. Once back to the surface Catlina soon finds being a single mom in a post apocalyptic world proves to be harder than anticipated. While she’s reluctant to go back to Hope County it’s the only option she really has. When Lizette is ten the two of them make the trek to Montana in hopes of finding John or anyone that is a friendly face among the rubble of her mom’s past. John is thrilled to find them wandering just beyond the Ranch, but not all is well between the two and their daughter becomes untrustworthy of her father once she learns of the truth leaving to try and find herself among the groups in Montana, following into the arms of Joseph and New Eden for a time.
