one thing i love about Hobie Brown is how well he embodies punk and how people VIEW punks. throughout the scenes he's in it might seem like he's being chaotic for no reason other than Cool Factor™️. But if you take a closer look at everything he was up to, he actually pulled so much weight for the team. When he was signaling miles about the palms, it might've looked like he was just instigating, but he seriously did agree with miles and wanted to help (hence his quitting the spider society and continuing to help team miles afterwards). And when he was picking shit off the walls of miguel's base, it seemed like him just being a menace, but he was collecting the pieces to fashion gwen's watch, which he took the time to deliver to her later (presumably using his own DIY watch). i think it's easy to write him off as being a general menace just for funsies, and see him as just a fun chaotic character, but Hobie had the plan and intent of helping miles break the canon the entire time. behind everything he did, he had a solid reasoning, he just did it with some edge. and that's fucking punk if i've ever seen it.

Egyptian Ben 10 AU!!

A long while ago i got the idea of making an au where ben is an Egyptian Orthodox Christian (the idea entirely spawned off a joke my friend made about a hypothetical ben like that having to explain his fasting to rook)

At first the idea was gonna be that his parents are Egyptian immigrants and he was born and raised in Bellwood, but last second before finishing his character bio i decided to flip everything over and make this AU *in* Egypt

The timeline i have in mind for these bios are all at around right after the highbreed arc, but also before season 3 straight up starts. I feel like thats a good jumping-on point

In terms of aliens mostly i just get to explore what the aliens would look like as teenagers since uaf and ov didnt really do much with that (they didnt even bother giving wildmutt a tail) and have fun trying to make his flannel into outfits for the aliens. Hoever if i get any cool ideas for entirely revamping aliens id definitely do it

I tried to make fourarms darker skinned not sure if its showing. Id have done the same with stinkfly but the uniforms colorscheme wouldve crashed. I wanted to try giving wildmutt black fur because this ben has darker hair but nothing really quite worked hsjhds wildmutts obnoxious orange is just too iconic

Prep school is mostly an american thing, here the closest equivalent for the early 2000s would be an international school. Also i changed lawyer to doctor as thats the sort of "go-to" job that makes a lot of money, lawyers in egypt arent usually as fortunate

Here she doesnt wear her uniform this is just how she dresses. I tried to fit the cat motif like OS but i couldnt really think of something that fit. If i were drawing UAF or OV gwen in my own take id have given her cat imagery but i think for Jwanas personality it actually makes more sense for her to be boring and lose the cat

Jwanas also a lot more angsty about her magic (and it is magic) since her parents and basically entire surrounding community both Muslim and Christian are very against magic and consider it sin. Shes also a lot more angsty in general because like the bio says shes under alot of stress and is very jealous of ben, which is conflicting because ben is also her best friend and she doesnt wanna feel this sort of animosity to him. She also doesnt realize how much he looks up to her as someone who is a lot more intelligent and disciplined than he'll ever be (for example the concept of jwana having the spark isnt here, ben just can never learn magic because he doesnt have what it takes)

Kevin much like ben is more or less the same as he is in the show. With jwana i went with my own take but Ben and Kevin are more of, culminations of what i think are their best parts in the series and then just fleshing that out more

I felt like the outfit he has in earth-prime works best with a few touchups. Prime kevin has consistently had that rugged guy-who-lives-in-a-garage look so despite being the most basic outfit it works the best with a few touchups

I did change his anatomy, i wanted to make him look like a mutant freak. I gave him this sort of frankenstine's monster posture (a small reference to him being an amalgamation in os). He also has these stretch marks all over his body since his material absorption doesnt just create a coat around him but also alters his skin itself (so these markings arent there for os-era kevin) He also has a lot of weird bumps over his body

This kevin is 100% mutant no alien shenanigans. If i do aggregor i'll uhhh think of something else for him to be. His transition to the lightside is a lot longer and for the majority of the highbreed arc hes not even there hes more of an occasional ally if he feels like helping

Was his dad a plumber or not im not sure tbh, im leaning towards not though

Analyzing things in ATSV part one

Okay so I have to be absolutely insane about Ganke for a bit, so this will probably take up several posts because screenshots/videos galore.... ermmmmm....

I'm going to start off by analyzing this piece of concept art

Taking a look at Ganke's tapestry on his wall, that absolutely looks like the CS:GO logo, just flipped and without the text. Ex:

Taking a look at more things on the walls as well:

1) who is doing this math. Is it Ganke? Is it Miles? Is it both of them? I like to think that is is Ganke writing things down and then coming back to them later, or, maybe Miles writes things down and Ganke corrects them/adds stuff.

2) I'm pretty sure that says deadly twins. Is this a game? Movie? A play on words? Makes me think of seven deadly sins, but I'm not too knowledgeable in the world of entertainment.

3) (not the jet) is this a schedule? Lunch schedule, perhaps? It's on the bulletin board in the final cut of their dorm as well, just redesigned. Has to be something school event related. It says "Spring 2023 Brooklyn ________ Academy." I can't make out the middle word.

4) I just like the little spider included in the drawing :3 Miles FOSHO draws all over the whiteboard all the time. I love it.

5) I love love LOVE the stickers he put on the drawers, and I'm guessing there also from video games, but again, not good with logos. If anyone knows though please tell me and I will put it on here.

6) I think it's neat that they have a poster of a bunch of cassette tapes on the door. That was definitely Miles's doing, as well as the record player that i found in there (it's his way of honoring Aaron.)

7) Peep the No Expectations drawing on Miles's side of the bunk. I love the little Easter eggs all over. This is so special to me. Makes me think of the Chekhov's gun principal that they did with the Spider in ITSV and are continuing in Across.

8) Ohhhhh so he's a soccer guy. I wonder if he likes the sport, players, or had played it himself. Maybe that's why he got buff, bit I doubt it (BRING ME BACK LOSER NERD CHUB GANKE)

9) Taking a look at the photographs that Ganke has and comparing them to what I could find in the final product. Ganke has a camera on his desk, so obviously he takes all of these himself, but we will get to that later.

10) This looks like a picture of himself to me. Self portrait. Look at that blurred out smile. It's either him, or one of his parents, but I'm guessing it's of himself. Did someone take that for him, or did he take it? Maybe it was Miles.

11) might again be a stretch, but it looks almost like two people leaning against each other. Headcanon that Ganke is just like Lilo and takes pictures of random people interacting for funsies (reminds me of them Gwen & Miles leaned on each other on the building but I have HIGH doubts it is that)

12) ..Again, just bullshitting here. But this reminds me of the scene from ITSV where Gwen and Miles first were introduced to each other. Could he totally off, but there were a lot of kids in the background that resembled and could have been Ganke. Who knows what that kid does in his free time. (I bet he has a lot of photos of Miles that he doesn't know about...)

(However, I don't see Ganke as being very artistic when it comes to things like that, so maybe he just tags along with Miles and acts as lookout.

I badly want to write a little action, slowburn romance for Miles and Gwen which also discusses the corruption of the police force, the family values of organized crime and why its considered a necessary evil that it justifies Earth-42 Miles actions on turning to a life of crime, how Gwen Stacy comes in as a good influence and a voice of reason to Miles (not in a manic pixie dream girl typa way, and also) without it seeming like she's trying to fix him outside his jursidiction.

Right now, all I got is a bunch of drabbles, scenarios, and snippets of interactions between Earth-42 Miles Morales and beloved star student Gwen Stacy. I love that Andrew is finally getting the recognition he deserves. I’ve always loved his spidey, it’s so weird how it flipped though and how everyone loves him like I use to be fighting for my life in high school and even made an argumentative essay on why he’s a good spider-man. Literally your blog reminds me so much of Andrews spidey that it helped filling the void until NWH so thanks Sci ☺️

honestly, i still think of andrew's peter parker first and foremost before i think about 616 peter parker when i write 9319 pete - he takes so much more from andrew than anywhere else, and really, ask-spiderpool was meant to be a continuation of andrew's story, post-tasm2, right after the events of gwen's death - but elements of 616 just started bleeding in for the funsies.

i think i take a lot more of andrew's emotional vulnerability and abandonment issues and inexperience and unassuredness and all of that - it's certainly more from andrew's peter than 616 peter. 616 peter definitely has it, but they're... they're kind of different. 616 peter's definitely much harder than andrew or 9319 peter - andrew and 9319 peter are so soft. so soft. they could crumble if you blow on them. 616 peter will spit in your eye. they're different.

i think what happened with the uptick in andrew love is that, you know, andrew is a scene stealer. all he needed was to stand next to all the other spider-men for everyone to realise he was the best one all along. king. i love him.

what drew you to dj/gwen? legitimate question and no judgment i truly couldnt care less about who other people “ship” in total drama but it’s one of the more interesting pairings i’ve come across and i’m curious. i always love d their platonic relationship in the actual show and distinctly remebers him carrying her on his shoulders and thinking that was really cute. like i can not only totally see it but kinda love it???

K so it all started when i was making a td conspiracy board for funsies while rewatching it and this frame came up and i was like huh. is that a ship? and i put it on the board mostly because i felt bad that DJ didn't have a single pink string on him. (just saying fresh i see you making dj the 'love expert' in season one then proceeding to give him zero (0) love interests ever 👀)

and THEN when i was fucking around making a plot outline for the action rewrite that TPG was supposed to be the predecessor to but uh that's not happening now it's different now. but when i was doing that and looking at gwen's canon arc and how to make it idk good i was like ok she needs to date someone between trent and duncan and i landed on dj and as i was working on it i was like aw this is pretty cute actually. then when i started writing tpg i was like well they're not gonna date yet but i may as well start laying the groundwork now and then i fell in a hole and now i'm fully convinced they were actually intended at one point to be if not canon a viable, officially teased ship. like i genuinely believe it was on the table at one point during the planning of season 3 and that they had specifically laid the groundwork for it to be a possibility. and god i wish they'd done that. i wish because then gw*ncan wouldn't have happened so two birds one stone gwen gets a decent ship for once and gw*ncan doesn't happen.

so I saw a video of Miguel at Claire's on my fyp and he was fighting with Miles over a squishmallow.

So when he was living with Gabriella in that world, Gabriella TOTALLY had a squishmallow collection

Miguel collected her favorites on his world (he totally sleeps with them bc he imagines himself cuddling with his daughter, it's one of his coping mechanisms)

I see him keeping one in his office

Lyla totally teases him over it

Just imagine Gwen, Hobie, Pav and Miles walking into Miguel's office and just seeing a giant squishmallow on the floor💀
