for all the talk about thingol being allegedly racist/xenophobic to the noldor (for... being angry that they attacked his brother's people, i guess! folks if you don't welcome a group of people who slaughtered your brother's followers and stole their property by force with open arms, you are being so bigoted, actually), it was not thingol who derogatorily referred to a noldorin elf as "the dark-elf in his caves" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
