Finally got around to cleaning some glass bottles ive been setting aside for crafts for months
I kept putting it off cuz for some reason I was thinking there would be a lot more steps involved when all I had to do was fill them with hot water and shake vigorously
Why did I expect that to be more complicated
#im going to wrap them in clay and bake them in the oven#i dont need them to be completely sanitized#they just need to not have sticky soda and clearly canadian residue in them#ahhh wait i remember why it seemed like a more intensive process before#i had to take the labels off those ones#and get all the sticky residue cleaned off from the labels#these ones either have the labels printed directly on the bottle or in the case of the soda bottles have labels that i dont think will be a#problem to attach clay to#i did end up putting a few of them into the recycling bin cuz they had mold in them#and it wasnt coming out with soap and hot water#so i figured those ones arent worth it#i got plenty for my purposes#i dont need to waste time cleaning mold out of them

External Window Washing Tips and Tricks
Cleaning outside windows can be a daunting task, especially when you’re cleaning tall windows on a multi-story house without the benefit of a ladder. Using the right tools, techniques and cleaning products will make it easy to clean your exterior windows with great results. Read this article about External Window Washing to learn tips and tricks for getting your windows as clean and clear as possible.
Start with rinsing the windows with your garden hose (or use your indoor shower, if you have one). Use a water pressure nozzle to rinse all surfaces, and a soft, rubber-bladed squeegee to dry the windows. Ideally, work on a cool day when the wind won’t blow the soapy water and window-cleaning solution back onto your freshly cleaned windows.
A good quality squeegee will make the difference between streaky, smudge-prone windows and a clean, clear finish. When buying a squeegee, make sure it fits the window pane you’re washing. The squeegee should be at least as long as the width of the window, and it should fit snugly in the metal channel. A professional window cleaner may use a hacksaw to cut one to size, but it’s possible to get a good DIY squeegee from a hardware store or home improvement center.
Adding a bit of cleaning solution to your squeegee can help with stubborn, sticky spots. Spray the spot with a water-based cleaner and let it soak for a few minutes, then wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. If you’re removing paint specks or labels, use a razor blade mounted in a holder to avoid scratching the glass.
If your windows are particularly dirty, consider using a power-washer to scrub them. Pick a soap or concentrate that’s power-washer safe and recommended for windows, and follow the manufacturer’s directions to use the washer. Spray the window with several coats of the cleaner, allowing it to soak in for a few minutes. Then, rinse the windows thoroughly with the hose or by running your power washer over the surface in an angled, upward motion to lift and remove dirt from the glass.
When finished, dry the windows with a clean, lint-free towel or black-and-white newspaper pages. Be careful not to let the paper or towels touch the glass, as they can leave residue that’s difficult to remove with a squeegee. Be sure to keep the squeegee in contact with the top corner of the window when drying it, and dry in a backward S pattern (if you’re left-handed) to prevent drips or water marks. Finally, clean and dry the squeegee at the end of each pass. You’ll be surprised at how much cleaner your windows will look after the effort. Cleaning the outside of your windows will give them a fresher, cleaner appearance and improve the appearance of your entire home. With the right equipment and techniques, this is a job that almost anyone can do with a little practice. So, go ahead and give your windows a spring cleaning—it’ll be worth the extra effort!

To eliminate cockroach pests in restaurants, it's vital to take a prompt approach that involves various steps. We will look at the tactics now.
Proper Inspection: Conduct a complete inspection of the entire restaurant to identify the areas where cockroaches are present, their hiding spots, and potential entry points. More close attention to the kitchen, storage areas, and whereas with food debris.
Proper Sanitation: Maintain neatness with cleaning throughout the restaurant. Cockroaches are most attracted to food residues and spills, so regularly clean all usable areas, including floors, countertops, and equipment. Always clean up spills immediately, empty trash, and ensure proper waste management.
Exclusion: Seal off any entry points that cockroaches may use to enter the restaurant. Check for gaps or cracks in walls, floors, and doors, and use caulking or weather stripping to seal them. Pay more focus to areas around pipes, utility areas, and ventilation systems.
Food Storage: Food items to store properly to minimize the attractiveness to any pests. Use proper containers to keep food things, ensure they are stored off the floor and away from walls and its areas. Often do inspect and discard any expired food products.
Plumbing and Drainage: Cockroaches are another attracting thing to moisture, so Inspect plumbing and drainage systems whether any leaks or standing water.Repair any leaks promptly and ensure proper drainage free-flowing. Clean drains whenever you get time using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Insecticides: Use insecticides as per label instruction with local regulations. Consult with a professional pest control service to find the most appropriate insecticides for your restaurant. Apply insecticides to areas wherever the cockroaches are likely to conceal, such as cracks, crevices, and dark corners of rooms and halls. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer and take necessary safety precautions steps.
Regular Monitoring: Monitor the restaurant continuously for any signs of cockroach pest activity. Place sticky traps or monitors in strategic locations to capture them and track the extent of the infestation.

K. Hayes - All My Own in a Big Red Bow 2
A/N: I miss hockey. Please enjoy a nice little break from the state of the world before we all go back to dismantling the establishment. :) Love y’all, especially Kevin Hayes.
The frosting feels sticky against your fingers as you swipe it over a 20th cupcake with the butter knife in your hand. Only 40 more to go.
When Kevin stomps his dopey, floppy self into the kitchen with his xbox headphones on, you quickly use your body to shield your work.
"Hands OFF mister," you swat at him and he tips the mic up to mute himself.
"I'm between games. Lemme just get one!" He succeeds in grabbing the butter knife, covered in chocolate frosting, and sliding it across his tongue.
You wrinkle your nose in mock disgust, "You're gross, you know that? Totally nasty." He hangs his tongue out of his mouth and wiggles it obscenely.
"Yeah. You didn't have a problem with that last night, though." Heat slips down your spine at the memory.
"Okay… you're not wrong, you're just an asshole." You slide open the drawer at your hip and grab a clean knife to replace the one Kevin is still licking frosting off of. "Get out of the damned kitchen! I'm trying to make these so your family will love me. You're halting my progress. Go away."
He pulls the mic down, "Do this one without me boys. I'll be back in a bit."
He takes off the headphones entirely and leaves the kitchen to return them to the living room. When he comes back he looks at you seriously, as seriously as he can while still lapping up frosting residue.
"You're aware of the fact that my family currently loves and has always loved you?" You shrug and change the knife again to switch over to the vanilla frosting. "You're already a part of my family," he continues sweetly, dropping the knife into the dishwasher now that he's done with it.
Sighing, you pause your icing for a moment, "It just…" you rest the knife gently against the frosting container and put the cupcake you're working on into the tupperware before looking up at Kevin. "This is the first family party since we're…"
You pause.
You don't want to say it.
You and Kevin have been having fun lately. A lot of fun, as he alluded to only minutes ago.
What you have yet to do was put a label on anything. This is the first family party since... we're together? This is the first family party since we've been fucking? This is the first family party where you invited me instead of my sister?
Nothing you're thinking feels quite right and you just let the sentence hang, heavy and dense in the air.
Kevin's eyes are clear blue, shining bright against his tanned summer complexion, but you can't bring yourself to look at them, choosing instead to focus on the clock on the stove, which tells you that you have exactly two hours before you need to leave to get to this party.
The cupcakes are still not frosted.
They're going to hate you.
Finally, Kevin reaches out and touches your shoulder. "This is really important to you, huh? These stupid cupcakes?"
You meet his gaze now, "They really, really are." You're almost embarrassed to say it, but it's the truth.
"Okay, let's get to work then," he picks up the container of sprinkles and starts dusting them over the tops of the already frosted desserts.
"You're really the best," you nudge him with your hip as you resume your icing job.
He smiles at you, dopey and lopsided, "If it's important to you then it's important to me." You're sure the look you give back to him is just as dopey.
__________
You've been to your sister's house a thousand other times, but when Kevin pulls his truck up outside of it this time you might as well be a stranger.
"Why are you so nervous today? You know all of these people. What's up with you?" Kevin had graciously helped you finish the decorating and then watched you change your clothes four times before ultimately deciding on the first outfit anyway. He's a highly patient man, but you could tell he's confused at best and possibly worried about your psyche at worst.
"Please don't make me explain? I promise I will, just not right now. Please?" He closes his eyes and lets out a breath, bolstering his patience once more.
"Alright, but we gotta talk about it sometime, promise?" You nod and start getting out of the car before grabbing the present you have in the back for your brother-in-law, letting Kevin balance the trays and trays of cupcakes.
Holding the door open, you let Kevin in first so he can drop the tupperware on the counter. He shouts out for Jimmy, hugging his brother as he pulls him away from a conversation with their father.
The brothers exchange a few "hey mans" and a hug before Kevin turns to you; he motions for you to come over to them.
"I brought my girl, hope that's okay," he tells the room at large before wrapping his arm around your waist.
Your sister smiles from where she's feeding the baby on the couch, Kevin's dad rolls his eyes and his son's antics, and his mom smiles knowingly at you and Kevin.
Jimmy laughs and rolls his eyes, "I've heard a lot about you," he reaches out and shakes your hand.
You're not sure if you're highly uncomfortable or absolutely turned to loving mush at Kevin's declaration.
Kevin's sister walks in through the front door with his niece, trailing a fistful of balloons, finally breaking the awkward grasp Jimmy has on your hand.
His niece shoves the balloon strings into Jimmy's hand and he picks her up for a hug before passing her to Kevin's outstretched arms.
"Remember Y/n?" He turns around so he and his niece are facing you. You wave and she smiles and nods.
"She's aunt Kris' sister and mommy told me not to say she should be your new girlfriend 'accause that's rude." She punctuates her story with a nod, and Kevin kisses her head, hiding his smile in her pigtails.
Out of the corner of your eye you can see her mother facepalm, her father barely staunching a laugh.
Kevin continues, "It wasn't rude, baby. As a matter of fact, I thought it was a great idea so I wanted to thank you for finding her for me." She kisses his scruffy face and smiles wide, squirming until he puts her down on the floor where she can run over to her mom and be picked up again.
"See momma? Uncle Kevin said she's his girlfriend now, so I can say it!"
You bury your face in Kevin's chest, embarrassed but radiating love from the center of your chest out to the tips of your toes.
"I'm your girlfriend, Kevin? News to me," you mumble into his Patriots t-shirt as conversation gently resumes around you- his sister, brother-in-law, and niece cooing over the baby on the other side of the room, his parents doing their best to not look like they're eavesdropping.
"Shut up, you know I'm all yours." He looks like he wants to kiss you, really send the point home, but the room is full and it's certainly the wrong venue, so he ends his admission with a kiss on your forehead.
Jimmy walks over with the baby over his shoulder, doing his best to burp him. "I'd say welcome to the family, but you're nothing new," he elbows you playfully as he passes.
Kevin sticks his hand into the back pocket of your jeans and wiggles his way into your heart a little deeper.

Clear Shell Football Helmet Restoration
Vintage clear shell helmets are by far my favorite type of collectible helmet. Like most old helmets, however, most of the ones we find are in bad shape. Restoration is much more difficult because you can’t just sand and paint - you have to remove the paint while trying to maintain the transparency of the shell.
Once the paint has been removed, dealing with replacement decals and painting can be just as challenging:
What to use for decals? They have to be applied to the inside of the helmet, before the paint, securely to avoid paint bleeding, and colorful enough to adequately show through the plastic shell.
How to prep the inner surface for paint considering you want the shell to be as clear as possible?
What paint to use?
How to avoid paint bleeding into the decals?
If you mess up any of this once you start painting, the only way to recover is to go back to step one and re-remove the paint and decals...yikes.
Over the last several months I've worked (and reworked) a few 1970s MacGregor helmets. I thought I'd share my experience. Some of this information may be obvious but is included for someone starting with no experience. This is by no means a complete guide, just some of what I have learned.
This work is not for the faint of heart and this information is presented without any guarantee of success. If you don’t want to deal with the heartache and disappointment that can come from trial and error (and almost certainly screwing something up bigtime) then I would recommend sticking with refurbishing regular plastic shell helmets. Those can be challenging enough just getting the paint to look right. But if you really want a reproduction of that sweet helmet worn by the likes of Joe Washington or Hollywood Henderson, without doling out hundreds or thousands of dollars, refurbishing an old clear shell might be worth it.
Paint removal
Always test a small inconspicuous area before trying to do the whole helmet.
I found that Motsenbocker's Lift Off Paint & Varnish Remover works very well and does not damage the clear plastic shell. I applied it to a 1974 MacGregor that was painted silver and after a few minutes the paint literally peeled right off with no damage to the plastic. The helmet had red horseshoe logos under the paint and that material was actually harder to completely remove. See sanding and polishing info below for the solution.
I also used Motsenbocker's on a helmet that I had repainted with Krylon spray paint. After applying the remover and letting it sit for an hour the paint came off cleanly using a plastic scraper. Again, no damage to the plastic.
I have only done this on a few vintage MacGregor helmets so results may vary if different paints were used originally, if the plastic is in poor condition, etc. I have not tried this on Kelley, Maxpro or any other older clear shells.
If you're going to try Motsenbocker's, the only place I could find it was ordering online from Home Depot. $25 for 64oz. A reseller on Walmart.com has it listed for $100 which shows how hard it is to find. As stated earlier, test it in a small area first.
I also tried CitriStrip Paint & Varnish Stripping Gel and it was more harsh, melting the clear plastic if left on more than a few minutes (similar to nail polish remover). I would not recommend it.
Cleaning up the plastic shell after stripping paint
There will be some residual paint after the Motsenbocker's. I have had success wet sanding with 400 grit to get rid of the residuals. Follow that with wet sanding with 600 grit, then 800, then 1000. Go to 1500 if you like. A spray bottle filled with water is very handy. Also, if you have stubborn paint you can use 100 grit dry to start, followed by 220-320 wet, then 400, etc., and it will clean up OK.
After wet sanding, the shell will be hazy but should be scratch free and smooth. To restore the clear shell I use Novus 7100 Plastic Polish Kit with a cordless drill with foam polishing head. #3 (heavy scratch remover) followed by #2 (fine scratch remover). Polish each step until the material dries up or wears off. Wipe out the residual after each step.
The Novus does a good job but the residue left behind, while invisible, adds to the challenge of painting. You can wash the helmet with Dawn dish soap to remove the residue; however, you will consequently lose some clarity and get some haziness (which is when I redo #2 polishing). Balancing the transparency of the shell vs. having the best surface for painting is challenging. I have applied decals (see below for details) then wiped the exposed inside with rubbing alcohol to prep for paint. I've had mixed results.
Logos and stripes
This step is probably the hardest. One option is to not use decals or vinyl at all - mask off the inside of the helmet and paint logos, stripes and then the shell. This is a viable option but painting scares me enough that I try to only have to do one color, that of the shell, and use decals for logos and stripes.
I purchased Sunnyscopa Waterslide Decal Paper from Amazon. They offer white and clear. White is only useful for white stripes or simple white logos (like Oklahoma). Anything bigger and it's very hard to work with. And of course you can't print on the white because the sticky side has to face outwards.
The clear labels are good for small things printed in black (reversed of course), like the MacGregor or Kelley logo for the back of the helmet. I have not had luck with colors on the clear decal paper, as they do not print with full opacity (washed out). That is not to say it’s impossible - maybe I don’t have the right printer. Also, the larger the decal, the more stretching needed to fit the curve of a helmet. When stretched, the ink widens with the label and you’ll eventually get gaps in the colored areas.
I have heard there are companies that print custom waterslide decals but I have not found been able to find any in my limited Google searches. Sounds expensive (relatively) and it might be hard to find anyone that will print what may be considered copyrighted material.
I have a Silhouette Cameo 4 vinyl cutter and have had some success with Oracal 651 vinyl. However, I have also had some problems with paint bleeding inside the label. I have tried applying vinyl decals with strips of clear waterslide decal paper along the edges to act as a seal against bleeding. This does a good job of preventing bleeding but:
Applying the material along all the edges can be challenging. Depending on the decals there might be a lot of edge to cover. Also, working with larger pieces of the waterslide decal paper is difficult. The edges fold over and it’s very hard to undo that, often forcing you to start with a new piece.
The decal paper keeps the paint from adhering to the plastic because, obviously, it is a layer of material between the paint and the shell. If the waterslide material lifts or is removed, the paint goes with it.
I have also purchased 8 mil white Convex GearWrap (SKU C8155W), which is thicker than Oracal and also seems more adhesive. It is possible to place decals cut in Oracal on the sticky side of the GearWrap, thus using the GearWrap adhesive to hold the decal in place on the helmet. This is an acquired skill however.
Painting
Painting clear, smooth, glossy plastic is definitely a challenge. You want to keep the plastic as clear and smooth as possible so the decals, stripes and paint show through as clearly as possible. But that goes against the normal process of prepping a surface for paint by sanding it.
That said, I have had good success with Krylon Colormaxx paints (labeled for metal, wood, plastic...). Make sure you inside surface is a clean as possible. Try wiping a small area with alcohol. As mentioned, however, you’ll probably get some haziness in the plastic when cleaning it with alcohol. Keep in mind, though, when the paint is applied it seems to “moisten” the surface, thus removing the haze.
Spray several light coats, waiting the recommended minute or two, or even longer, between coats. After several coats, hold the helmet up to a light source and examine the entirety of the inside. If you can see any light showing through the paint, focus subsequent coats on those areas. Interestingly, even if you end up with some light spots, they are not often noticeable in the finished product.
One of the advantages of painting the inside of a helmet is that if you end up with drips they won’t be visible from the outside (unless it’s metallic paint - see below).
If there are spots inside the helmet that are not properly prepped, you might see some patches where the paint “beads”. Like drips, however, this is not as big of an issue as it might seem. Try letting the coat dry for a few minutes and reapply paint. Eventually the patches will be covered. How well the paint has adhered is another story, though. Try to ensure the inner surface is as clean as possible before painting.
Metallic paints present additional challenges and I would recommend avoiding them. If you run into drips or beading, you will most likely see these defects in the finished product. Because of the metal flecks in the paint, if it is not applied evenly the finish will be uneven, and drips will be obvious. Also, if the paint is not mixed (shaken) consistently it will come out of the can in different mixtures, further hosing up the finished product. I don’t know anything about the makeup of different spray paints but I would not be surprised if metallic paints have additional ingredients that don’t mesh will with smooth plastic.

Designing Your Melody: Chapter 07 - Notes
Chapter 01 - Chapter 06
Giving her dress form one final once-over, Marinette decided that everything was perfect. She had finished her outfit for Jagged Stone a few days ago, but that didn’t stop her from agonizing whether or not it was truly done. Maybe there was something she had missed, or an aspect of the entire design that could have been improved upon. Quite frankly, she had been driving herself a little crazy looking for anything that wasn’t absolutely perfect. Her obsessive behavior got to the point that on Saturday night, a full day after she had “finished” it, when her parents had come up to let her know that dinner was ready they had found her standing in the middle of her room, staring unblinking at her creation. In the same exact position she had been in hours before when her mother had brought her up a lunch tray that had been left untouched on her desk.
Deciding that enough was enough, they had demanded that she cover up the dress form and take a break. Worrying about it wouldn’t do any good.
So, Marinette had grudgingly listened to her parents’ advice and left it alone.
After an agonizing weekend of trying to ignore her hidden masterpiece, Monday morning finally rolled around – the day she was due to deliver her creation to the record company for Jagged Stone’s photo shoot.
With utmost care, she removed the sheet covering up the outfit. She laid the custom embroidered garment bag she had prepared on her chaise lounge. Returning to the dress form, she gingerly removed the jacket, inspecting it one last time for any loose threads or stray pieces of lint. Black sequins sparkling in the light streaming from her windows, she carried it over to the garment bag and placed it on its hanger, smoothing the purple satin lapels to prevent any wrinkling from transit. She gave the black and purple military style cuffs a quick tug to ensure they hung properly in the bag.
Returning to the form one last time, she carefully removed the yellow snakeskin pants that hung there. Grabbing a second hanger, she clipped the pants delicately and slipped them inside the garment bag with the jacket.
A final inspection was made before she zipped the bag closed and hung it up on the clothing rack next to her sewing station.
It filled her with immense pride to see her initials emblazed on that garment bag. Knowing that the entire world would soon see the product of her passion was a heady feeling indeed. She rolled her shoulders back to ease the tension that had gathered there. It was too late now to turn back.
Grabbing the garment bag and her little pink purse, she climbed down her trap door and left her parent’s bakery to make her delivery.

“I did it, Alya.” She said. “It’s out of my hands now.” Her hand gripped her cell phone as she strode through the lobby of Roth Records, her heels clicking a rapid tempo against marble floor.
“I’m so proud of you, girl. I can’t believe it! My BFF is Jagged Stone’s designer. I just can’t wait until I can see your clothes on billboards all across the city.”
She giggled loudly, the sound of it echoing through the lobby, catching the attention of a dark-haired man heading through the lobby on his way to the elevator bank, guitar case slung securely on his back. She was too focused on getting out of the building to notice him whip his head around, searching the surrounding area for the source of that clear peal of laughter. There was something about that voice that pricked his memory, but he couldn’t place where he had heard it before. Shaking his shaggy hair out of his face, he scanned the lobby one last time with his aquamarine eyes before gripping the strap of his guitar case and continuing on his way.
“Honestly, I can hardly believe it myself. When I delivered it to Ms. Rolling, I was so nervous I almost passed out. I don’t know why this is such a big deal for me. I wasn’t this nervous when I designed his album cover all those years ago. And I certainly wasn’t this stressed out over any of the other pieces I’ve made. What makes this so different?” she wondered as she made it to the entrance to the building.
“How about to celebrate your glorious success, I’ll treat you to lunch.” Marinette glanced at her watch before agreeing. “Good. I’ll meet you at that cute little café we went to with the boys a few weeks ago. It’s close to the record label, right?”
Marinette nodded before realizing that Alya couldn’t see the gesture through the phone. “Yeah, it’s right around the corner. I’ll see you there in 20 minutes?” After hearing confirmation from her friend, she hung up her phone, stuffed it back in her purse and walked down the street, looking forward to meeting her friend for a relaxed meal after the crazy couple of weeks she’d just endured.

Luka marched down halls of Roth Records, his impassive expression belying his irritation. It felt like he’d spent more time in this god forsaken building in the past week than he had at his own home, and he was getting a little tired of it.
For some unknown reason, he had been roped into some sort of power play between rock legend Jagged Stone and the CEO or Roth Records, Bob Roth. After he and Jagged had finished recording what the two musicians considered an award winning song, the CEO said that it wasn’t good enough and “would never sell”. The blowout after that conversation was having lasting repercussions and now there was tension between the two entertainment giants.
Jagged Stone was refusing to back down and sacrifice his “creative process” to make a “soulless, vanilla, cookie cutter money maker”. He knew what his demographic wanted and it pissed him off that even after all these years, Mr. Roth was still trying to undermine his talents to make a profit. The results spoke for themselves and Jagged would not sell out.
Roth on the other hand, was doing everything he could to mold the aged rocker into a package that he considered “hip and now” and was sabotaging any effort Jagged made to stay true to his carefully cultivated image.
Stuck in the middle of their cold war was Luka, who had done everything he could to stay out of their struggle for dominance. He kept his head down, did his recording sessions, and kept his opinions to himself. He just wanted to play the music he and Jagged created together.
He turned down the hall towards the recording studio he was due to meet his collaborator in when he suddenly found himself wearing someone else’s coffee order. He looked from the brown splatter covering the front of his white “Jagged Stone: World Tour” t-shirt to the unfortunate intern holding an empty to go cup in his hand.
“Oh my God, I am so sorry!” the timid intern cried as he looked around in a panic trying to find something he could use to help clean the guitarist up.
With a shake of his head, he assured the panicking boy that he wasn’t in trouble and that it wasn’t a big deal before walking away. Honestly, he just wanted this day to be over already so he could go home and just jam out by himself for a bit.
Footsteps echoing in the now empty hallway, he finally arrived at his destination. But before he could enter the sanctuary of the empty studio, he heard his name called from his left.
He watched as Jagged Stone’s agent approached him, her ever present tabled clutched tightly in her hands in a white knuckled grip.
“Good, I caught you before you got started, Luka.”
Her eyes widened as she took in his muddied appearance. “What the hell happened to you?”
He delicately peeled the coffee-soaked shirt away from his stomach, the shirt making a squelching sound as it clung to his skin. “I had a run in with the coffee gopher. Literally.”
She shook her head at his attempt at humor before tapping away at her tablet. “We’ve got some time before Jagged is done with his shoot. We’re running a bit behind because Mr. Roth found out he went behind his back and commissioned his own design to replace the one that the marketing team wanted to use. Why don’t you go to the dressing room and take that shirt off and I’ll get you a clean one?”
Not seeing any reason to object – especially since the coffee was starting to chill against his skin and was getting a bit sticky – he agreed.
Once in the dressing room, Penny disappeared to find him a replacement shirt.
Carefully setting his guitar on the counter, he removed his black riding jacket and hung it on the back of a chair. Peeling the soaked shirt over his head, he glanced at the mirror and froze. His eyes widened and he spun around quickly, dropping his wet shirt with a plop.
There, hanging on a hook on the wall, was a cream colored garment bag. However, it wasn’t the bag itself that had him rushing across the room. It was the three letters embroidered on the bag that had him so transfixed.
Reaching out his hand, he stoked his fingertip across the threads, calluses catching slightly. MDC. The same initials as those lazily scrawled on the paper still folded in his jacket pocket. The same initials that he had been obsessing over for the past few weeks. The initials of the designer of his dream outfit. The initials of his muse.
His heart pounded in his ears, for once drowning out the notes that endlessly played in his mind. Surely it couldn’t be a coincidence. How many designers had the initials “MDC” in Paris? He needed to know if his suspicions were true and he needed to know now.
He strode to the door of the dressing room and yanked it open, oblivious to the fact that he was still shirtless and sticky from residual coffee until he realized that he had scared Penny half to death by suddenly opening the door as she held up a hand to knock.
“I’ve got a shirt for you.” She offered the black garment to him, drawing his attention to the article she was holding. “You might want to put it on before you cause a stir around here.” She chuckled as he blushed and took the shirt from her.
“Can I ask you something,” came a muffled inquiry as he thrust his head into the shirt. “What’s that bag hanging up over there?”
Penny looked at the garment bag he had gestured toward. “Oh, that was Jagged Stone’s outfit for the photo shoot I was telling you about. You remember Jagged telling you about her the other day, don’t you? Why do you ask?”
Luka tried to remember the conversation he’d had regarding the designer Jagged had spoke so highly of. “What did he say her name was? M… Ma… Ma… Mary?”
Penny chuckled. “Her name is Marinette. She actually dropped that off for us a little bit ago. You may have passed her on your way in, now that I think about it.”
Luka couldn’t believe his luck. If she was who he thought she was, then he’d finally gotten her name. The first real lead to finding his mystery designer and it was finding out her name was ‘Marinette’. He smiled at his good fortune, unaware of the suspicious look Penny was giving him as she observed his pleased expression.
“Would you like to see what she made for Jagged?”
His head whipped up as he looked at her, eyes widening slightly in anticipation.
She laughed. “I take that as a yes.”
When they entered the studio where Jagged’s photo shoot was being held, Luka’s breath hitched as he took in the outfit that Jagged Stone was wearing. It was definitely hers. Even to his untrained eye, he could sense her style in every stitch. The way the jacket fell across the rocker’s slim shoulders, how it fell gracefully down his back, the way the tailoring made it seem almost fluid in the way the fabric moved. Everything about the design just screamed her.
As he watched the singer move from pose to pose as the photographer directed him, the song she had inspired inside Luka’s soul began crashing through his mind, once again driving him to distraction. With his fingers tapping out the notes on his left leg, he turned to Penny and asked her if he could get this “Marinette”’s contact information.
She’s a little surprised at the eagerness that Luka expresses in his question. She can’t recall a time that she’d ever really seen him express even a little bit of the passion he’s showing her now. But unfortunately, she has to deny his request.
“I’m sorry, Luka, but I can’t just give you that information. We keep the contact information of our employees - or in Marinette’s case, independent contractors – protected.”
Watching his face crumble in disappointment, she sighs. “I’ll tell you what I can do. I’ll contact Marinette and ask her permission to share her information with you.” He smiles a little before nodding his head.
Finally, finally he found her. Now, he just has to sit back and wait to hear from Penny. Feeling considerably lighter and with his fingers itching to press the strings of his guitar against the fretboard, he heads back to the dressing room where he had left his guitar unattended in his haste to see his Marinette’s designs in the flesh.
Chapter 08
*Thanks again for taking the time to enjoy my story. I appreciate all your likes and reblogs. I was so excited for this chapter that I just had to get it out and posted as soon as I could (and considering it’s 4am here, that should tell ya something). Luka knows Marinette’s name! Well, her first name at least. What’s he gonna do with this information? We’ll have to find out. Just keep in mind that I’m not going to make it easy for these two. mwahahaha!
Until next time, my lovelies XOXO*

Guide: How To Clean Dish Set
If you don't want to eat all your dinners on paper plates, you will have to wash them. If you do your dishes in an organized way, it should take minutes, not hours. That is the good news.
There are two ways to wash dishes: by hand or in the dishwasher. Both forms have their devotees. There seems to be a disagreement over which one is better. Some prefer the dishwasher for its convenience, and others prefer to wash their hands because you can control the amount of water you use and make sure your dishes are clean the first time.
Related: How to clean dish rack
Wash dishes by hand
For instructions on using the dishwasher, scroll down.
There are two methods you can use to wash dishes by hand. One requires a two-hole sink, and the other is for those with only one sink in the kitchen. On top of that, they take roughly the same steps. Before starting the washing process, you must throw the food scraps in the trash. You can also run it through the garbage disposal, but then you risk clogging the sink.
1. Fill the sink with hot water.
Use the hottest water you can without getting so hot that you burn yourself. Do not fill the sink to the top, as you need room to drop the dishes. Do it halfway. If you want, you can load a large bowl at the sink instead of the sink. This will make it a little easier if you have to change the water.
2. Soak pots and pans
If you have dishes that have been baked in the dirt that will be difficult to remove, such as pots or pans, fill them with hot water as well and place them on the counter, so they are out of the way. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes. You can also put smaller dishes with baked gunk in these pans, like spatulas and knives.
3. Add the soap
Add a couple of squirts of dish soap for hand washing into the sink and swirl it with your hands to make a uniform solution with lots of bubbles. If the soapy water is harsh on your hands, you can wear a pair of rubber gloves. This will also protect it from being cut by any utensil.
4. Start washing
Start with delicate glasses and plates, such as those used for dessert. Next, clean the silverware, then move on to the dinner plates, and finally the pots and pans and cookware that had been soaked. You want to do the most delicate items first to make sure they don't break, and the dirtiest things last, so your sink and cleaning tools don't get dirty early in the process.
To start washing, dip the dishes in the water and scrub off any grease, sauce, or food using a kitchen brush, sponge, or steel scouring pad. Since steel wool can be abrasive, please do not use it on dishes made from delicate materials, such as stainless steel. To clean the forks, use the corner of a scouring pad or dish towel to work between the teeth.
Be sure to scrub every part of every item, including the handles of coffee cups and saucepans where finger oils have deposited. The old adage "squeaky clean" comes from washing dishes; you can tell when a plate is clean when it actually starts to squeak when you rub it.
If burnt food still doesn't move after soaking or scrubbing, see the How to Clean Burned Food from a Saucepan guide for more options.
Replace the water and add more soap whenever it is too dirty to spotless later dishes or when the water has cooled, or the soap suds are gone.
5. Rinse the dishes
When you finish scrubbing each plate, you should rinse it under the tap to remove the soap or in the second sink if you are using the two-mouth method. For this method, you can fill the double sink with warm water and submerge the dishes to rinse them, replacing the water as needed. If you don't have a second sink, just rinse the dishes under the tap. You may need to drain some of the water while you do this. Using warm water is fine. If you have hard water, add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse sink to help prevent mineral deposits from forming on your dishes as they dry.
6. Check the dishes
After rinsing each plate, check to make sure it is spotless. Any leftover sauce or food will be pretty obvious, but you may need to remove your gloves and check with your fingers to make sure all the fat has been removed. If any amount of soil remains, repeat steps four and five. If you still can't clean the dish, you can try soaking it longer or using a stronger cleaning solution.
7. Dry the dishes
Once you are sure that each plate is really clean, please wash your hands, so they are neat too, then dry the plate with a new dish towel. Do not use a bath or hand towel, as lint can stick to your dishes. You'll want to dry your dishes on the go, not save them all for last, as you don't want them to get stained or stained when wet. If you can, enlist a friend or friends to help you dry. It is an easy task; they will remain your friends after this. If this is not an option, you can let the dishes dry on a drying rack. Be sure to put the bowls and glasses on the rack upside down, so the water doesn't pool.
8. Put the dishes away
Store dishes in the cupboard after drying. That way, they'll be easier to find later and harder to hit the ground and break.
9. Clean the dishwashing area
Once the dishes are put away, wipe down the dish rack with a damp cloth then towel it dry to prevent mineral build-up from hard water. Wiping out the sink is also a good idea to remove any food debris.
10. Clean prep area
Whenever there are dirty dishes in the sink, that means the food was prepared somehow, which means that the countertops and stove need to be cleaned. Use a dish towel or sponge with soapy water to remove crumbs or sticky dirt, then wipe counters with a disinfectant kitchen cleaner if necessary to make sure the food prep area is safe for the next cooking session.
Using the dishwasher:
Dishwasher preparation is a much shorter process, especially if you have one of the newer dishwashers that will pretty much scrape everything. If you're not so lucky, you should soak your pots and pans, as in step two, and then follow the scrubbing instructions in step three. You should also scrape up as much food as possible to avoid clogging your dishwasher drain.
Inspect your dishwasher to determine the location of the water jets so that you can avoid blocking them with a large pot if necessary.
Once done, simply put the dishes in the dishwasher, taking care to place lighter, more delicate dishes on the top rack, so they don't get damaged. Cutlery should be placed face down in the basket. Make sure not to pile too many items in the cutlery basket or in the dishwasher in general, as they will not be cleaned; it is better to run two separate charges if necessary.
It's a good idea to mix the cutlery in each compartment of the basket for the same reason, as they can easily be stacked, which would prevent them from being cleaned.
Add the detergent to the dispenser. Make sure not to overfill the dispenser. One of the most common mistakes is using too much dishwasher detergent, leaving a residue on the dishes. Usually, only two tablespoons of detergent are needed but read your specific product label for the most precise instructions.
If your machine has an air rinse dispenser, you can fill it with a little white vinegar, which is especially helpful if you have hard water or use a commercial rinse aid.
Put your dishcloth or sponge in the dishwasher, too. However, do not put nylon scouring pads in the dishwasher, as high heat could melt the nylon.
When everything is ready, lock the machine and run it. While the dishwasher is running, complete steps 9 and 10 from the previous section: Clean the dishwashing area and prep area.
Most dishwashers drain into the sink, so make sure the sink is not clogged before starting the dishwasher, or you could end up with a huge mess on the countertop and floor.
When the dishwasher is finished, remove the dishes and put them away. Please give them a quick check to make sure they are clean and dry first, so there are no surprises later when you set the table.
A Dish Cloth vs. A Sponge
In the great debate between using a dish sponge and a dish towel, science says that the cleanest option is a dish towel. There are several reasons why a dish towel is a cleaner:
A sponge is more porous and can more easily harbor bacteria.
A sponge doesn't dry as fast as a dish towel, which allows bacteria to live longer.
A dishtowel can be sanitized after each use more quickly than a sponge, which could disintegrate if boiled in water or exposed to chlorine bleach.
If in doubt about which is better, be aware that the FDA has banned using a dish sponge in any commercial kitchen due to the increased risk of bacterial contamination.
It is generally easier to clean with a scouring pad than a dish towel when scrubbing power is needed, but you don't need to have a scouring pad attached to a sponge. Instead, get a smooth scouring pad or sponge, which can withstand harsher disinfection processes. If you invest in several, you can clean them along with the tea towels every few days so that you always have a clean one to wash the dishes, or if you use a dishwasher, you can put them in the dishwasher every day where hot water can disinfect them.
Additional tips
It will be much easier for you and the friends you recruit to help you clean the dishes while cooking each meal. Instead of leaving dirty dishes on the counter for hours, you should at least rinse them right away, so the food doesn't settle. This will make it much faster when you run the detail of the plate.
Some items that should never be washed in the dishwasher are glass, earthenware, cast iron, copper, wood, and any plastic items.
Never use dish liquid designed for hand washing in the dishwasher. Dish liquid is created to produce a large amount of foam, which removes bacteria from surfaces. In the dishwasher, this foam can overwhelm the available space and begin to leak, creating a soapy mess on the floor.
Many liquid dishes contain ammonia, especially those that are antibacterial. Never use chlorine bleach in a sink or on a dish towel or sponge if the liquid in your dish contains ammonia, as the combination creates toxic fumes.
In a large family home, it may be helpful to put a sign on your dishwasher that allows you to toggle between "washed" and "unwashed" so that everyone always knows whether or not the dishes inside are clean.

Everything (comes back to you)
THIS FIC ON AO3
He’d been sitting there for about an hour, very intently not watching Callum on his date. Instead he sat at the bar with shoulders hunched and folding in on himself. Watching as the line indicating how much beer he had left sunk lower and lower toward the bottom of the bottle. Mick sent him a worried glance every now and then, before sending an equally worried look over Callum’s way. At least, that’s what Ben told himself.
He’d passed tipsy-but-alright miles ago. His head was now filled with smoke and fog and no way out, occasional wisps of Callum’s voice cutting through it like a piercing blade (or maybe like a ray of sunshine). Heard him huff a quiet laugh at something the other bloke said – and it hurt, it hurt – but he couldn’t help but feel a little vindicated. See, Ben knew every possible nuance to the vast repertoire of Callum’s laughs and this… this was just being polite. Because Callum would never leave someone hanging, too afraid to offend their feelings.
Ben… well, Ben could ease a proper full-body laugh out of him, head thrown back and eyes watering, nearly cracking his skull against the headboard after a particularly intense round of hanky-panky. Callum loose-limbed and sated, Ben the happiest he’d ever been, drawing lazy circles on his boyfriend’s chest. He knew that if anyone had taken a close enough look at him, they’d have found actual stars dancing in his eyes.
His fingers travelled to the bottle once more, tracing the path of a droplet of condensation falling down. He swiped at it, pressed it into the paper label that had become a little bit soggy from time passed. He started picking at it, annoyed when it didn’t come clean off, leaving sticky residue against the green and on the tips of his own fingers.
He should let this happen.
Give Callum a fresh start and a clean break – a break he’d forced himself, mind you. Pushed at Callum, pushed at him some more. Try to blink away the tears in his eyes and the knife in his heart and the look on Callum’s face. The feeling of safety and belonging that had engulfed him just a few days ago, pressed close together in the portacabin. He’d wanted to disappear forever, leave everything behind. He’d vaporize, and just stay nestled in the crook of Callum’s elbow or the ticklish spot behind his left ear. In the dip between his thumb and index finger, stroking Ben’s cheek tenderly.
He ventured a glance to where they were sitting. Callum’s date was leaning closer to him than he’d been before, but he – of course – remained completely oblivious. Even after all this time, Callum still didn’t understand the effect he could have on people. It was one of the softest things about him. Ben loved it so much, he needed to protect it, and every other little inch of him. Even if it meant killing himself in the process.
So he couldn’t really explain why he suddenly found himself at their table. “Right, we need to talk.”
Callum looked at him, a little confused and a lot fed up. “Now’s not really a good time, Ben.”
“Oh, no, now’s the best time.” He threw a dirty look in the direction of Callum’s plus-one. “Terribly sorry, needs must and all that. Callum?”
“Hang on,” the stranger said. “Who d’you think you are?”
Not able to bear being labeled ‘the ex’, he bit out “I’m his mate, alright?”.
Callum huffed at that, bit his lip and looked the other way. Shook his head almost imperceptibly, then pushed from his seat and stormed out, Ben following at a leisurely pace. A lot of eyes watched their actions unfold, no doubt wondering as to how Ben would mess it up even further. Though some, he hoped, might be rooting for him, just a little, too.
Callum’s features made a stark contrast to the night air and what little light shone down from a half-waxed moon. He was pacing excitedly, right in the middle of the street. It made Ben worried for him, but mostly it was making him dizzy, the alcohol in his system catching up to him in a swift rush.
He closed his eyes briefly. “Sorry, would you mind stopping for a second?”
Thankfully, Callum did, though the action seemed to shifted his mood as well. He went from anxious to angry in the blip of a heartbeat.
“So you’re my ‘mate’ now, that it?”
Ben chuckled at the way Callum had used those gorgeous long fingers to add pressure to his words. “Those are some pretty intense air quotes, babe.”
Callum deflated at the endearment, all the air and all the fight going out of him in the second it had taken for Ben to unthinkingly use it. He blinked slowly, averted his eyes. “You can’t keep doing this, Ben.” He looked at him, trying to make him see – some sort of sense, he supposed. Futile. “You can’t keep pushing me away then making some claim on me when...”
“I know,” Ben said, taking a step forwards, holding his hands up in a sign of surrender. “It’s just… I know I’m not good enough for ya, but that idiot in there ain’t come close either.”
“Right.” Callum nodded, his eyebrows pulling together. “And you can tell just by lookin’ at him, can ya?”
Ben gave him a look that said it was perfectly obvious. “He don’t know ya.”
“Maybe if you hadn’t -”
His head was still spinning. Surely the alcohol should’ve dissolved by now? “No he couldn’t.”
“Right.” Callum said again. He was so close to Ben now; both of them were shouting. When had that happened? Ben couldn’t remember. “So you’re not good enough, he’s not good enough. Anyone ever going to be?”
“No, they ain’t.” Ben said, placing his hands to either side of Callum’s face, cradling it softly. It was the best prize in the world, and he couldn’t have it.
“No they ain’t, Callum. Because you’re beautiful and kind and amazing in just about every way. And I’m completely in love with ya. And there’s never gonna be anyone in the world that actually deserves all the stuff you give out.”
Callum stilled. “Hang on, say that again?”
“Orright, calm down big ego.” Ben rolled his eyes. “You’re beautiful an’ kind and amazing. And I know for some reason that still comes as bloody news to ya..”
“No…no, not that.” He smiled. “The part you said you’re in love with me.”
Panic rose in his chest. His hands dropped immediately. Damn beers. “Errr… don’t think I said anything of the kind, mate.”
“Yes you did.” Callum was beaming, a grin so wide it would no doubt split his face apart if he kept it on for too long.
So Ben told him just that.
“You know if the clock strikes your face’ll freeze that way.”
He felt defeated. “Look, even if I did, it don’t change anything, do it?” He balled his hands into fists by his side to keep from shaking. “You’re still too good, Callum, I’m not gonna ruin ya.”
“You’re wrong,” Callum said. “ it changes everything. It proves I was right, you’re just scared. But I’m not letting you go.” His hands closed over Ben’s, Callum’s fingers caressing them until they unfurled from their clenched position. “I’m not letting you go, Ben.” He repeated. “Whatever it is you’ve done.. I’m not sayin’ I don’t care, but we’ll get through it. You can’t deal with this on your own, it’ll break ya.”
Ben bit his tongue, turned away. “Well, whatever you’re thinking, it’s worse.”
“Your dad punched out Jack ‘cause he though he was the baby’s dad, yeah? I don’t imagine he’d let Keanu breathe when he realized.”
Ben raised his eyebrow at the matter-of-fact way the words’d been spoken. Like it was no more than a fact. With no consequences or blame or possible jail time.
“Copper like you can hardly have a boyfriend with that on his record, can he?”
Callum gave him a small and private smile. “See, the thing is…I’m not gonna be a copper no more.”
That was even worse. “Giving up your dream to be with…”
“Nah, see..” Callum interrupted him. “I’ve been thinking these past few weeks, being away from ya. ‘Bout why I wanted to be a copper in the first place. And I just… I want to help people, Ben. Be ‘of service’, like. I’m not doing that at the parlour where I just apply balm after the wounds, I wanna stop the hurt from happening in the first place.” He squeezed Ben’s hand. “I don’t wanna save people from criminals, Ben. I wanna save ‘em from themselves.”
His eyes were wide and trusting. “Like when I talked Bobby down. Or who I was before I met you. Or who you’d be if it wasn’t for ya dad. I’ve been there, I know. I think I might be good at pulling people out.”
“And I’m not perfect like you think, Ben. I’m broken same as you…”
When Ben started to protest this, he shushed him. “No I’m not. D’you wanna know how many times I still wake up from nightmares ‘bout what I did in the army?”
What? “You never…”
“Never when I’m with you.” Callum acknowledged. “Wanna know why that is, Ben? It’s ‘cause you make me feel safe. I’m not scared when I’m around you.” He smiled at him. “You do that for me.”
“Callum…”
“I’m gonna kiss you now.” Callum said, without even the slightest tremor in his voice. Only confidence and – Jesus Christ, so much love shining through. “We’re going to forget these past weeks ever happened.” He gave Ben a cheeky smile. “And you’re coming home with me tonight.”
Ben grinned. “Bit confident, are ya?”
“Got every reason to be,” Callum told him, taking the smaller man into his arms. Ben suppressed a shiver as Callum kissed the top of his nose, nuzzled the tender spot between his eyes, before pulling back. “This guy I like just told me he loves me back. Don’t need to know anything else, really.”
He paused.
“Now come ‘ere you big grizzly bear.”
The statement was followed by small laugh.
This, Ben knew, this was one of the good ones. He’d treasure the sound forever.
-
(Later, there’d be a discussion about how Ben in NO WAY could qualify as a ‘big grizzly bear’. Callum would tease him, attempting every pet name within the realm of possibility. He was thinking something along the lines of a fuzzy, cute koala bear. But they didn’t need to settle on anything just now, he said. They had years and years and years.)

Kitchen Cleaning – A Complete Guide
The kitchen is probably the most intensively used space in every apartment – you cook, eat, and live there. Accordingly, you should clean it often and thoroughly. In this article, we are going to provide you with a kitchen cleaning guide.
Kitchen Cleaning Guide
Once or twice a year, every kitchen needs a thorough deep cleaning. Nowhere else, be it from cooking, baking, or eating, is so much fat and dirt deposited on the surfaces. But because you work with food there, the kitchen should be the cleanest and most hygienic place in the apartment. Splashes on the tiles, encrusted ovens, calcified fittings – with these tips and home remedies, you can bring the kitchen back to shine and make it a clean place of wellbeing.
Clean The Oven
If you don’t have an oven that cleans itself at a high temperature, you have to do it yourself. A self-made paste of baking powder and water is suitable if you do not want to use an aggressive oven cleaner. Before you apply them to the heavily soiled areas, you should fill all the openings in the oven with foil or kitchen paper. Now use the paste to the oven and leave it on overnight. The next day, the dirt can be easily scraped off with a plastic scraper and wiped off with a rag. That also works with heavily soiled baking trays.
Remove Overcooked Food From The Hob
There is no cooker protected from food boiling over, whether ceramic, gas or electric. If you do not remove the traces immediately after cooking, it can be a tedious drudgery later. It is better to let the stove cool down a little after cooking and clean it when it is still lukewarm. In addition to chemicals, the power of the lemon is also suitable for lighter stains on the hob. Soak the affected areas with citric acid, leave for about ten minutes, and wipe with a damp cloth. Stubborn stains can be removed more efficiently with a paste of baking soda and water. Spread the mixture on the hob with a cloth, leave to work for several hours, remove with a damp cloth and polish dry.
Kitchen Cleaning – A Hygienic Sink
The sink is a real issue, where germs of all kinds gather – even more than in a toilet. Therefore, it is imperative to remember it when cleaning the kitchen. To keep the sink hygienically clean, you should wash it out regularly with warm water and detergent (this dissolves grease and has an antibacterial effect). To keep a stainless steel sink optically clean, we recommend scrubbing it with baking soda and a brush. With a bowl made of ceramic or plastic, you should exercise a little more care when cleaning, and it is best to clean it with a soft cloth or sponge and some detergent or all-purpose cleaner. Citric acid helps against limescale deposits – to avoid new deposits, the basin can be rubbed dry every day with a microfiber cloth (ideally after each use).
Don’t Forget The Drain
You should also not forget the rinsing outflow, where, in addition to fluff, there is also food residue – which can give off an unpleasant smell in the long run. Therefore, you should flush the drain regularly with drain cleaner. Vinegar and lemon help to clean and deodorize the drain. Stock up on ice cubes made from pieces of lemon and vinegar and pour a handful of them into the drain every few days.
Clean The Refrigerator
Bacteria and mold like to develop in moist areas of the fridge. However, they then spread to all the food that is in there. You should, therefore, carry out thorough fridge cleaning whenever you are cleaning the kitchen – but surface cleaning is sufficient in between. Here is how it works:
First, clear the entire refrigerator out. Dispose of expired or spoiled food in the trash. Remove all shelves and drawers and wash them in the tub with warm water and a disinfectant all-purpose cleaner or vinegar. While everything is drying, you can clean the interior of the refrigerator. A mix of baking soda, water, and soap is suitable for this, which disinfects and deodorizes. Use it to wipe the entire interior walls and doors. If this does not remove all stains, put a little vinegar on a cloth and dab the stain with it. After 15 minutes of exposure, it should be easy to remove.
Dirt and mold quickly settle in the seals around the door. When you have removed all splashes, stains, and crumbs, you can rub everything dry with a soft cloth, and the shelves can be put back in place.
Clean Natural Wood
Work surfaces and boards made of natural wood require a particular cleaning method. All you need is lemons, salt, and paper towels. Squeeze the lemon juice onto the wood and spread the salt generously. With another half of lemon and rub everything on the wooden surface. That removes all stains and smells from the wood. Finally, remove the excess salt with a tea towel and let the surface dry. To protect the wood in the long term, you should rub it with oil every few weeks; for example, pure rapeseed oil is suitable.
Kitchen Cleaning – Don’t Forget The Dishwasher
Cleaning the kitchen also requires you to clean the dishwasher. Just because it cleans things, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a bit of love. You should clean the dishwasher once a month using special dishwasher detergent. These are small bottles that you put upside down in the cutlery basket or the plate rack of the empty dishwasher and then run through them once at the highest heat.
Why clean the dishwasher when water and detergent are continually flowing through the machine? A special cleaner removes all stubborn residues.
You should also clean the seals and door joints with this cleaning agent or a self-made paste made of baking soda or vinegar cleaner. Also, check the drain for foreign objects and clean the drain filter with a dish brush and a mild detergent. If the filter is not too bad, I often take them out and put them upside down in the dishwasher while I am running the cleaning agent through.
Treat The Microwave With lemon
To remove stubborn splashes in the microwave, heat a suitable container with water and lemon juice for three minutes – and let it stand in the microwave for another five minutes. That will loosen sticky dirt on the inside walls. You can then wipe them off with a damp sponge and dishwashing detergent.
Organize Kitchen Cabinets Sensibly
Over time, a hopeless mess of pasta, cornflakes, spices, and the like develops in many kitchen cupboards. Remove all of this from the cupboards and clean them with water and vinegar. Then reorganize everything according to food and place everything that is frequently used right at the front – this saves time and creates order. Small baskets and labels can help you organize them.
Grease On Surfaces
All kitchen utensils not stowed in a cupboard, like the cupboards themselves and the extractor hood, build up a layer of fat and dust over time. You should remember them when you are cleaning the kitchen. If the items are small enough and dishwasher-safe, remove them regularly and wash everything through (also works with most hood filters). To clean larger areas such as cupboards, doors, tiles, use water, and degreasing detergent. Do not forget to brush the closet; they are often very sticky and dirt deposited. You can prevent this by covering the surfaces with a newspaper, which you should replace regularly.
Polish Stainless Steel With Baking soda
Stainless steel surfaces – such as toasters or extractor hoods – are best cleaned regularly with a damp microfiber cloth. Coarse dirt and rust stains can be removed wonderfully with baking soda. Mix some water with baking soda to get a milky substance. Now put the paste on the stainless steel surface and scrub lightly with a soft sponge – finally wipe and polish everything with a damp cloth, done! By the way, you can also use baking powder can also to remove these unsightly gray scratches on light porcelain dishes.
Kitchen Cleaning – Final Sprint On The Floor
Only when everything shines again in the kitchen, all cupboards cleaned, newly arranged and sorted, should you dedicate yourself to the floor. A microfiber mop is suitable for wiping a tile or linoleum floor, and hot soapy water. Clean coarse stains or discolorations with a mixture of salt and turpentine. You should always use a wood care product to clean wooden floors. That is because they should not get too wet. Also, do not use detergent; this takes the oil from the wood. Now let everything dry, stand back, and enjoy the radiant shine in the kitchen.
Conclusion
Try to keep in mind working from top to bottom of any room. However, if you can, you should try to incorporate this strategy into your schedule.

Best Cream For Dark Skin Tone

Best Cream For Dark Skin Tone
A. The 13 Best Sunscreens for Dark Skin Tones That Don’t Leave a White Cast
One of the biggest (and in our opinion the most dangerous) beauty myths? People with darker skin tones do not need sun protection on a daily basis. But here’s the truth: although melanin provides some sun protection for darker skin tones, it is not enough to ward off these harmful rays. This means that anyone, regardless of skin tone, can develop skin cancer – which, according to a study by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, tends to result in worse outcomes for black women, as cancer is usually diagnosed at a later stage. Not to mention that SPF is an important part of any skin care routine, because “with cumulative sun exposure you may notice increased expression lines, decreased elasticity and discoloration”, says dermatologist Dr. Meena Singh, MD .
Now we know that not all sunscreens are created equal – and in the past many of these options were not made with melanin in mind, making them look meaty and unfavorable. The good news, however, is that thanks to recent advances in innovative textures (think sticks and serums with a clear SPF, colorful creams and non-greasy gel formulas), more and more skin care companies are offering sunscreens that do not leave a white glow. (As a reminder, you don’t need a bottle of SPF 100; SPF 30 broadband is enough).
To help you choose an invisible SPF that’s right for you, we’ve found (and tested) the best sunscreens for darker skin tones, including a 50 SP tinted CC cream, a cheap sunscreen and moisturizer hybrid, a beautiful balm for lips with sun protection factor and sunscreen for and by women of color.
1. Black own parasol
a. Moisturizing sunscreen Ultra Sheer SPF 30
A sunscreen for women’s dark skin. The formula is completely clear and gives a beautiful glow to the skin. For moisturizing without being oily or sticky, it is an effective makeup base.
b. Umbra Pure Physical Defense
Zinc oxide is the gold standard for sunscreens. It blocks a larger area of sunlight than titanium dioxide and can be more stable. However, zinc is difficult to formulate in a portable sunscreen, especially on darker skin, as it is very white. This formula gets it right. It disappears on the skin, even with the dark color of the skin. Mineral sunscreens are especially useful for dark skin, as they deflect heat, which worsens hyperpigmentation, says Dr. Singh.
c. Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50
Dr. Singh points out that the sunscreen must be reapplied throughout the day (especially every two hours) to maintain protection. It looks good for a day at the beach, but how about a day at the office? Spray this spray directly on your makeup – it will update your appearance and protect your skin.
2. Best parasol for face
a. Anthelios Clear Skin Dry Touch Sun Protection SPF 60
This lightweight chemical sunscreen contains no oxybenzone and is designed for oily skin. It absorbs silica and helps you stay free of radiation.
b. Green Defense Daily Solar Mineral Protection
A mixture of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide (with an antioxidant boost from Echinacea) creates a protective shield on the skin that not only blocks the sun’s harmful rays, but also blocks visible light from digital devices (which also accelerate aging) . “I prefer mineral-based sunscreens or physical blockers that contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide because they provide better protection against discoloration and dark spots,” says Dr. Singh.
c. Clear Ultra-Light Daily Fluid SPF 30+
“Since many of my patients are prone to greasiness and acne, I always recommend checking the labels and making sure that the products are oil-free and non-comedogenic,” said Dr. Singh. This ultralight sunscreen gives both boxes and contains a liquid texture that hydrates and is instantly absorbed.
3. Best umbrella for hyperpigmentation
a. Hydra Vizor Invisible moisturizer of broad spectrum with sun protection SPF 30
Still not convinced that you need to use SPF every day? Maybe that will convince you: Rihanna says that. “The biggest misconception about SPF is that blacks don’t need it,” she told OprahMag.com last year. “And as a black woman, I’m here to say it’s a lie. I hope the melanin community, like everyone else, knows that SPF is for everyone and every day. That’s why she created this 2 in 1 moisturizer and sunscreen that combines reef-friendly SPF 30 with niacinamide (to reduce the appearance of dark spots), hyaluronic acid (for hydration) and aloe vera (to soothe).
4. Best parasol for sensitive skin
a. Complete daily broadband SPF 30
“I usually recommend the use of moisturizing sunscreens for dry skin. Most sunscreen moisturizers for the face can do this, ”says Dr. Singh. This oil-free and fragrance formula with zinc oxide has more than 300 five-star reviews on ulta.com.
b. Invisible shield
Sunscreens (you know who you are) now officially have no more excuses: this antioxidant-rich sunscreen clearly works (meaning you don’t even have to worry about whiteness) and is made with active microcapsules that act and are instantly absorbed by the skin and leaves no sticky or greasy residue.
c. CC + cream with sun protection factor 50+
This all-in-one cream is powered by mineral sunscreens and is Dr. Singh’s current point of contact. “There are shades for each skin tone, they work as a concealer and are free of oil with a matte finish”, she says.
d. Hands screen FPS 40
Your hands also need sun protection! Although it is powered by chemical screens, there is no oxybenzone. It also contains sea buckthorn fruit extract and argan oil for extra moisture.
e. Lip sugar sunscreen with SPF 15
The lips also need sun protection. Moisturize and protect them with this lip balm from Fresh. Beeswax, jojoba oil, black currant seed oil and sugar give this balm its creamy and moisturizing base, while SPF 15 does the job of sun protection. In addition, the balm is available in more than 10 beautiful shades (read: Lips don’t look gray).
5. Best sunscreen primer
a. Full spectrum Matte Ambition Skin Primer SPF 20
For those moments when your makeup needs to last all day, this mattifying primer with SPF is the right choice. It is not white, it goes smoothly and absorbs excess oil. The finish is matte without looking dry. A win-win situation!
B. These Are the Best BB Creams for Dark Skin Tones on the Market
In my research, in total transparency, it was not an easy task to find good BB creams with shadows. Needless to say, more work definitely needs to be done to diversify options for black women. Now that you can’t, let’s move on to what you’re looking for: formulas suitable for brunette girls. BB creams are essentially for the intermediate. You know, those who are not in full coverage formulas, but still want a little help with their skin. The best thing about BB creams – either beauty balms or stain balms – is that they are made with a close-up approach.
BB creams pamper your skin with good things like sun protection, antioxidants and lots, lots of moisture. Basically, a staple for a cold month, they keep your skin glowing all the time. Most formulas are smooth and creamy, so you can easily mix some of them with your hands. Below are our tips for the best BB creams for dark skin tones.

Iman always covered the brunette girls with his perfect dark line. This BB cream is no different and you can be sure that your healthy selection of ingredients will suit even the most sensitive skin.
