lovingly still drawing mlp redesigns in the year of our lord 2024 these are kind of for a very casual next gen au of mine, but honestly i just like imagining ponies in different ways :-) (more info + headcanons under the cut!)

fluttershy: - trans (she/her), sapphic, autistic - she's a deerpony mix, with her maternal grandmother being a deer and her maternal grandfather a pegasus. - has sensory issues with cutting her hair, so she's content to just let it be long. - has large wings, but not a lot of strength. she's better at gliding, and can't really get herself into the air very well. - tallest of the mane six. twilight: - nonbinary (they/she), bisexual, autistic - all ponies have magic in them that can give their bodies physical changes, with twilight being an extreme example. the star patterns on her chest appeared after wielding the elements of harmony for the first time, the stars on her hooves appeared after becoming an alicorn, and the yellow streak in her hair appeared after defeating tirek. - has fairly bad eyesight, but prefers using her glasses rather than using magic to fix her vision. - can't fly as fast as most pegasi, but has good endurance. - shortest of the mane six, although she's only barely shorter than rainbow. pinkie pie: - gnc (any pronouns, but loves being called sister), pansexual - her full name is rose quartz pie, in line with the rock and gemstone theme in her family, but pinkie was a nickname that just stuck. - chiffon swirl/mrs. cake is her maternal aunt, they have more in common than pinkie does with her mom, but pinkie loves them both equally. - her strength nearly rivals applejack, she has super strong legs from bouncing and jumping everywhere. applejack: - bigender (he/she), sapphic - inherited her father's hat and her mother's hairbands - all of the apple siblings have accessories left to them by their parents. - prefers going by AJ or jackie, only granny smith usually calls her by her full name. - ties up her hair when working, and keeps the fetlocks on her back hooves trimmed short.

rainbow dash: - nonbinary (he/she/they), queer, ADHD - like twilight, rainbow has extreme examples of her body changing with magic. her cutie mark got longer after performing each sonic rainboom, and the colors in her hair appeared after she got her cutie mark to begin with. - originally named bluejay dash, changed her name to match her new look. her parents still call her "jay" from time to time. - never quite shook the rainbow crash nickname, she's a great flier but not so great at landings. has a fair share of scrapes and bruises, but they dont bother her. rarity: - cis (she/her), omnisexual - part crystal pony on her dad's side, her mane and coat have a slight crystaline look to them in the right light. - changes her hairstyle a lot, but has it tied up when working in her studio. - crafts beautiful jewelry, in addition to her clothes and accessories.

Not exactly an mlp infection au, but I had some previous designs I liked so I decided to make an au with them.

The town and seemingly Equestria itself seems to be shifting and mending a lot like how when Discord was in control but with a noticeable lack of silliness. The homes are misshapened, the roads are long and twisted, the nights are so fogged with darkness it's impossible to see into the distance.

Twilight seems unaffected by what's going on. Although her stress, lack of friends, and literally any pony is getting to her. She's trying to figure out how to fix this despite how nonsensical things seem to be.

Dandy Dazzlemind is a mare that Twilight assumes she has made up, sort of like an imagery friend. She's almost as nonsensical as the rest of the place now but has an upbeat attitude. She's also british.

Fluttershy is the first of her friends that Twilight has found. Allowing herself to purposefully be infested by parasprites to give them a... 'New home.' Her floor is covered in her own blood trail, and there are no animals anywhere. The only smell of rot seems to be her.

Rainbow Dash is barely recognizable to Twilight. Her fur and mane barely cling to her skin as it looks to be rubbed raw. Her wings are completely ruined but she hangs within the air like something is hosting her. She's still fast and strong despite her ill appearance, and she will attack.

Pinkie Pie isn't hostile at all. Regaining all of herself despite her uh, predicaments. She's been running all over the place, using her Pinkie abilities to try help Twilight in any meaningful way. Despite how difficult that is without a head now. She appears empty on the inside.

Caregiver!MLP X Little!MC Part 1

∘₊✧──Twilight Sparkle──✧₊∘ ~ Prints out activity pages and gets activity books with colored pencils so you have something that will be fun and help you learn while in little space, even if it doesn't help you learn. ~ Lets you hug Smarty Pants and even lets you play with them. ~ Plays a music box to help you relax and even fall asleep to it with you. ~ Gives the best story times and reads to you often, even encouraging you to read at some parts. ∘₊✧──Rarity──✧₊∘ ~ Makes you cute outfits to wear while in little space, she would also make your paci look amazing and make you a stuffies. ~ Takes you out on a jewel hunt and lets you get a little dirty so you can have fun digging up the jewels but she gives you long baths after to make sure you are clean since she doesn't like dirty. ~ During bathtime, she lets you pick out whatever bath boom you want as well as a hand full of toys and what bubble bath soap you want in the bath. ~ Her cat really likes you and she would take pictures of you and Opalescence. ∘₊✧──Fluttershy──✧₊∘ ~ Cuddles with you and lets you cuddle with her animals from bunnies to bears, they would all be kind to you. She would make sure that Angel was nice to you! ~ When you are outside with her she gives you animal facts on every animal you see in hopes you would enjoy it. She normally gets giggles from you when she says some words in a funny way to make you laugh. ~ Sings you to sleep or if you are having a bad day she sings a song to try to make you feel more calm and relaxed. She would rub your back and hug you while rocking you back and forth during this. ~ Gives you hay sandwiches, salad, and would even take you out to Sugarcube Corner. ∘₊✧──Rainbow Dash──✧₊∘ ~ Puts you on her back and flies around Ponyvile high in the sky, when you tell her to go faster she would only speeds up just a bit so you don't fall or drop anything. ~ Falls asleep in clouds with you under her wing and keeps storm clouds over you so you aren't in sunlight fully so you can sleep better. ~ Always making jokes and playing games with you, trying to put her pride aside so you can win some of the games as well. ~ Sometimes she lets Pinkie Pie join her in taking care of you but always has her calm down a bit so you don't get overwhelmed. ∘₊✧──Pinke Pie──✧₊∘ ~ Even though she would give you tons of sweets to eat and even joins in on eating them with you, she makes sure you brush your teeth and to help you want to do it she does it with you. ~ When you are sad or upset she takes a step back and calms down, she tries to figure out what was wrong, what happened, and how the two of you can fix it. ~ Lets you play with Gummy and even if he was a baby with no teeth she makes sure he doesn't bite you. ~ She plays Kids Bop for you and dances with you while you both listen to the music. ∘₊✧──Applejack──✧₊∘ ~ Let's you help her work on the farm by making a game out of catching and counting the apples so it doesn't feel like work and you get your energy out. ~ If you got hurt she would bandage you up and kiss over the bandage to make you feel better. She would also cuddle with ya until you felt better. ~ She would make you apple juice, apple pies, apple sauce, and other apple things so you don't get hungry or thirsty while you are little. ~ Her dog and you play around sometimes when she is working, when she isn't working she plays games with you and walks you around Ponyvile. some notes for everypony:

Twilight Sparkle- i like gold on her design but not the absurd amounts everyone else gives her for some reason, so i made it an accent color. yes her magic is gold now too because of her eyes. her hair was also inspired by Mikan Tsumiki's cause i thought a more orderly version of her choppy mess would look good on Twilight, i was right. also glasses go brr, i think she looks cute in 'em

Apple Jack- while i love the long fetlocks people give her, i can't see her actually doing that because they'd be a pain to keep clean, so i did the opposite and had her shave her feathering off. i also put her hair up to keep it off her neck so she doesn't overheat while working. her cutiemark is my favorite part cause it's that family symbol where two adults and a kid make a heart, but i made it an apple instead, does a better job at showing her emphasis on family ties. no hat cause i like the idea of her hat being from her dad, and she doesn't want to mess it up wearing it daily so she wears it exclusively to special events

Rainbow Dash- i decided to make her less of a living lightening bolt and leaned more into her lazy side, going for the type of butch lesbian look that makes her feel like she wears tank tops and hangs out in the basement getting drunk and listening to rock. i wanted her to look like the only part of her she actually puts effort into maintaining is her wings

Fluttershy- i take great enjoyment in making Flutters a fucking lumbering giant compared to his friends (yes my Flutters is a guy), taking fluttertree and running with it. no notes aside from tall and green patterns and long hair and ooo pretty bronze jewelry. ig also his cutie mark is like- it was suppose to just be a paw and a butterfly but i accidentally made a parasprite with it, and instead of fixing it i just rolled with it and made it look more intentional

Pinkie Pie- THIS HORSE GAVE ME SO MUCH TROUBLE!! every part of my body was like "give her patterns! add things to her hair! it makes sense for her!!" but everything i did looked wrong and i couldn't get it to work. so i bit the bullet and made her really plain... and it worked. i don't know why but she just.... looks so much better with a really simple design, the hair texture does all the heavy lifting really

Rarity- of everyone, she's the one who'd have the long pretty fetlocks, and i decided to double down on that by not only making them so long you can't see her hooves, but also by making her have the longest and softest coat in general. she has the time and dedication to take care of such a high maintenance coat and she's gonna do it. it's even more impressive when you realize ponyville uses exclusively dirt roads. aside from that i think she deserves nice jewelry, and they use leather straps cause i think leather would be a ponyville fashion staple, she shows her hometown pride in her fashion

Spike- i thought it was weird he was so small the whole run, he should have had a growth spurt at some point imo, so i made him a bit bigger and more proportional to the older teen dragons, this is less of a redesign and more of a "make him actually grow up" thing, he's still small but not toddler small. this is the point where Twilight starts complaining about him sitting on her back cause he's getting too heavy. i also don't like how adult Spike ended up looking, but i haven't made a redesign of him yet

i have made an older alicorn Twilight design that i've been referring to as Ethereal Twilight, but i might hold off on sharing that for a while cause i have some funky hc lore ideas for the alicorns that i wanna refine a little before posting her. maybe i'll have older Spike drawn by then too, who knows

Made some edits to the Nightmare Fluttershy model/design from the Gameloft game.

For some reason, they kind of just decided to give all the Nightmare versions of the Mane 6 armor and other accessories which kind of doesn't make sense since Nightmare Rarity doesn't, it all just feels really out of place???

Here she is now (and also before) compared to all the other nightmare variations of the Mane 6

I also don't really like how they gave the winged ponies Celestia's wings, feels out of place.

I might do the other ones too but idk, it's just that Fluttershy's was especially egregious to me and I wanted to fix it.

Coming from a fairly poor background herself, Fluttershy spent years yearning for a lifeline that never came... until she stumbled upon the rest of the Mane Six, that is. As an adult, she strives to support any and all struggling students with their fears and anxieties, no matter their financial situation.

💛 She rarely uses her wings (due to a combination of acrophobia—or a fear of heights—as well as a janky wingspan that rarely works in her favor) and, as a result, she can hardly lift herself off the ground anymore. Practically all her friends, equine and non-equine alike, live beneath the clouds, so why go through all the trouble of flying when you can just… walk?

💛 Occasionally provides backup vocals for the Pony Tones and can often be heard practicing duets with Big Macintosh on her weekly visits to Sweet Apple Acres. Sugar Belle is a total sap for cheesy sing-a-longs, and usually breaks up the pair with her loud, dramatic sobbing.

Thrift finds.

I have actually been trying to avoid thrifts rn to erase the temptation to buy things, but my dad wanted to go + I got a generous Christmas gift of $50 a few days ago and I slipped up.

On the plus side my dad checked my stuff out to get me the senior discount, so all of this was only like $10.

And now it's out of my system no more thrifting until next payday.

A SmartGurlz/Kurhn doll!!! I think I saw one post about these a year-ish ago maybe?? Never thought I'd see one on person.

Draculaura was in a grab bag with the other MH clothes. Was thrilled to see the Iris outfit, I passed on I<3Fashion Iris since I managed to get her SDCC doll thanks to a friend, but I always loved this look.

I'm debating on whether to customize Ula or just clean her up. She's got glue head, but also she's fairly complete and doesn't have wonk.

And other cute rainbow surprise unicorn. I love the dragonfly wings!!!

This is the 5th AG doll I've found this year, and the third one by the pleasant company, not a modern Mattel. While a nice find, Who is donating all these AG dolls. I've gone years never seeing a single AG in a thrifts so it's a little strange to see such an influx.

Also, her outfit? I'm 99% certain it's from one of the 18" Kelly dolls they made in like, the late 90's. It has a barbie tag so I don't know what else it would be.

And finally B-A-B Fluttershy. I see B-A-B ponies fairly often at my local thrifts, but usually pass I for the most part I usually prefer G1s, and try to limit how many plushies I have in general. Fluttershy is the only exception bc for some reason, despite barely having ever watched MLP: FIM, I really love Fluttershy. She's so cute. I have only a handful of G4 stuff, but 90% is Fluttershy (the other 10% is Chrysalis lol).

Gonna be fun to fix all this up. c:

Okay, SO!

On the topic of the MLP universe having their own Sonic Prime event, when I was scrolling through my photos for a good reaction image I remembered that I took these pics.

These were test concepts on character designs between the universes. I had ideas to make Starlight Glimmer Shadow in this situation, and attempting to make Fluttershy into Nine. Which is... Definitely a unique choice. Pinkie is definitely Rusty, while Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash were all interchangeably switching between Rebel and Knucks.

Also on Twilight... See the wings and horn? Those are actually not real. When she fell into the Shatterverse, she lost her horn and wings, forcing her to use technology to bring them back. They've been tweaked per each world and it's climate.

Okay, back onto the universes: Boscage Maze!

... I kinda forgot who I put in the role of Thorn, but I would assume maybe Applejack or Rainbow Dash. But I'd assume AJ the most considering her character. Fluttershy would actually lean towards her side more and protect the little critters, putting the two against Pinkie, Rainbow, and Rarity, who kept destroying the jungle for more than what they needed.

And finally, No Place. Rainbow is definitely Captain, and I'd put Pinkie as Second-In-Command. Everyone else is interchangeable since I didn't get very far.

And for Starlight's main role... Teleportation spell at just the right time during an attack over the Paradox Prism let her narrowly escape. However the universe saw her as non-existent so it keeps trying to erase her, hence she keeps glitching.

She does eventually hold onto Twilight and get thrown into the Shatterverses with her, along with helping the distraught pony fix the universe and her friend's lives in another dimension.

So... That's about it.

Rainboom Rewritten (MLP AU)

I made an AU called Rainboom Rewritten, it's an Darkfic/Grimdark/Tragedy.

Summary/Prologue:

Rainbow Dash was going to preform an sonic rainboom for an study Twilight is working on, but something strange happened when Rainbow was getting close to mock speed there was a distorted flash of light and all went black, as an powerful sonic rainboom blackened the skies and sending rainbow dash crashing straight into the ground below.

Hearing the crash after the skies have cleared ponies rushed to see what was going on, there stood a huge crater with Rainbow dash lying lifeless within Twilight rush to Rainbows side but what she saw was an gruesome sight, Rainbows wings were burnt at the edges her bones sticking out of each wing but the strangest of all she looked like an entirely different pony.

When Twilight looked around she started to notice that every pony looked different even herself, every ponies appearance seemed to alter in their looks when she noticed this every pony started to notice to and that's when they all broke into an panic.

Twilight snapped her attention back to Rainbow sliding down into the crater and teleporting both herself and Rainbow back to golden oaks library, when Rainbow came to first thing she noticed was her wings it was different her wings were fixed with this magical essence Twilight had fixed them.

Later on every pony started to change in ponyville not only their appearance but also seemed that the sonic rainboom has altered their fates and personalities, every pony wasn't themselves anymore and have changed completely all blaming Rainbow dash for the cause of their fates.

When Princess Celestia and Princess Luna caught word of ponyvilles fate, they sealed ponyville off from the rest of the nations in all of equestria not only for the ponies in ponyville safety but for the rest of the creatures in equestria, there was no way in telling what was the cause of such fates and for that they had no choice but to seal ponyville off for it could be an unknown threat if it were to escape.

Twilight was made aware of this and was informed by Princess Celestia herself to find out the cause as such magic could be dangerous and to try not to loose her true self, Twilight tried day and night to find the cause but her true self started to fade just like every pony else, and soon every pony lost themselves fully and was replaced with something much darker.

Twilight Sparkle was no more and was replaced with Necro Light (Element Of Corruption) Rainbow Dash was no more and was replaced with Ruinous Boom (Element Of Self Destruction) Pinkie Pie was no more and was replaced with Manic Diane (Element Of Mania) Fluttershy was no more and was replaced with Palsy Demure (Element Of Hopelessness) Rarity was no more and was replaced with Fictitious (Element Of Imperfection) Applejack was no more and was replaced with Addle Carver (Element Of Confliction)

You know those g5 concepts of a g4 remake? These ones?

I'm making my own fan continuity using them and the vague ideas that are illustrated through these concepts! Currently I'm calling it Dawn of Harmony (sooo original I know, that name's definitely been used somewhere before) but that could change, I have some ideas for it but it's going to take a LOT of workshoping. Some infodumping of my current concepts below, really just mane 6 info:

Pinkie Pie and Rainbowdash are childhood friends that met in their flight school as foals. Pinkie had a rough start in flying due to her smaller wings and Rainbow decided to coach her a bit, which is how she discovered their shared love for pranking and how much Pinkie could cheer a pony up, thus sparking a lifelong friendship.

Applejack keeps her country flair and still lives/works on a farm, and she's the only non-family friend of the lone Twilight Sparkle, an earth pony with a knack for science and inventing...but less of a knack for making friends. She and Applejack are childhood friends, but Applejack still wishes she could be closer to Twi and that her pal would spend more time with other ponies and less time at home, they used to hang out all the time but Twilight got more "busy" as she got older. Applejack and Rainbowdash are quite competitive with each other, and they often get into spats during AJ's free time.

Fluttershy is very much like her name implies...very shy, but she doesn't flutter because she's a unicorn! She uses her magic to heal animals and fix the environment around her, the woods around her cottage home are said to be the prettiest in all of Ponyville. She's incredibly shy with new ponies and struggles with confrontation, but she's actually quite the social butterfly with those she feels safer and more comfortable around. She's close to Applejack and the farm pony has TRIED to set her up to be friends with Twilight, but Twi seems to always just miss her.

Rarity is the fanciest unicorn in the entirety of Ponyville, a Canterlot born pony who moved to the more rural village in order to find herself and discover inspiration for her career as a fashion star. She even brought her younger sister along with her! Rarity is quite difficult to get along with at first, but those like Fluttershy know that if you can get past her blunt commentary and insistence to measure you to make you a complimentary outfit, you'll find a friend that will do everything she can to be there for you. If you mess with Rarity's friends, you get the horn. She also has a side hobby of gemstone collecting and loves to use the sparkling gems in her fashion as often as she can.

Any thoughts on Karen Strassman? She played Olivia, Anna (of all kinds) and Hana!

Outside of it, she’s the current voice for Rouge the Bat, Aigis from Persona 3 and Nanako from Persona 4.

I've gotta put this out there, because any time I bring up an actor/actress who isn't totally left wing, I get messages telling me why said actor/actress is the spawn of Satan and I shouldn't like them. It happened with Amanda Miller (Someone who isn't even right wing) and it happened the last time I brought up Karen Strassman.

So again: I literally do not care about an actor/actress's politics, whether they're left or right wing. I care that they're not harming someone (i.e. Daman Mills) or being an asshole (Helena Taylor). This isn't a left or right thing, I just simply DO NOT care about someone's politics. And if people want to block me for saying that, that's totally fine and I have no hard feelings.

ANYWHO.

I like Karen! I like her role as Olivia (Who I'm surprised was pretty popular for a while and then just dropped off the face of the earth when it came to alts), I like her work as Anna... And while I actually don't like Hana's character, I do like her work as Hana. And outside of that, I adore her Nanako (as someone who got deeply invested when I played P4Golden), and I actually think she's a good Rouge, even though Kathleen Delaney was more my favorite. And I can't wait until Mozu gets added to FEH. Something tells me she'll show up on the next Fates banner.

Performance! I think her performance as Olivia between her pegasus alt and her Festival Arts alt is interesting; in the former, she's much more shy and timid (gives me big Fluttershy vibes), while she seems to feel very comfortable and more confident in the latter. It's an interesting distinctive tonal switch between the two. For the two variations of Anna in FEH so far (Commander Anna and Awakening Anna), there's a difference in their emotions that conveys what is the most important reason for each Anna to be earning money: For the commander, it's to keep funding the Order of Heroes, so she's a bit more serious and doesn't really talk as much about the money itself, more about the Order's funds in general. For Fates, it's to personally get rich, so she usually sounds mischievous and charismatic, to draw people in. I think it would actually be fun someday to have a full Anna banner as an April Fool's joke with the Annas that aren't in the game yet: Tellius Anna, Fates Anna, Fodlan Anna, etc. And finally, Hana. I think her voice for Hana is good, but... Something happened to the way she was pronouncing Sakura's name between her Ninja alt and her Valentine's alt. In her Ninja alt, she pronounces it correctly, but in her Valentine's alt, she goes "Sa-Koo-Ra". But then in her Ninja alt, she also pronounces Kagero's name weirdly too. I blame less of that on Karen and more of that on the voice director; they're the ones who are supposed to know the correct pronunciations of the names and should be guiding the VAs on how to say them right. Still a good portrayal for Hana though, she's energetic and a little spicy sometimes. Just makes me wish her support in Fates wasn't so unreasonable ("How dare you make Lady Sakura cry by getting kidnapped!" Like bro, WHAT?! Corrin watched their surrogate father get bombarded with arrows he shielded them from, then get slashed. How is any of that a literal child's fault?!).

I think she's a good fit for all three of the characters. Just... fix her pronunciation issues as Hana and we're all good.

However, when it comes to range... Look, as a general actress, I know that Karen has range. Her sultry voice for Rouge compared to her child voice for Nanako are pretty decent. But in FEH, I'll be honest: you can pretty easily tell that Karen voices all three, and Hana and Anna sound pretty similar to each other. So for FEH, I'll say the range is not really there.

Overall, I'd put Karen at an 8/10. I still don't know why they replaced her in Engage (And I don't know if that means that Monica will be playing child Anna when she gets added or if Karen will take over as child Anna), but as an actress I enjoy her work.

Ponyville day 16

The main six are split across ponyville, twilight and fluttershy reside at twilights tree house. Twilight provides an airtight seal on her home and taught other unicorns to do the same, she is still trying to figure out what is happening and how to fix it. Why aren't the princesses responding, where is discord, why is no one helping us, she hopes other species aren't being affected the same way. Fluttershy had to leave her own home at the beginning of the infection, her smaller animals kept going missing or  turning up dead. She doesn't understand why but it must be the air or something out there killing them. She couldn't bear to stand an empty home and twilight offered to give her company. Since then fluttershy and spike have been Inseparable, he's terrified and she needs something to look after. Twilight enjoys seeing them soothe one another and they both help twi when she needs it too.

Applejack remains at the apple farm with her family, rarity and sweetybelle.

Granny Smith though old keeps the house in shape and keeps everyone fed. She's taking the infection very seriously and refuse to let the little ones out of her sight.

Big Mac keeps watch on the farm and helps with the ponyville watch patrol.

Sweetybelle and applebloom try to keep each other entertained and try not to go outside the house much anymore since pinkie pie, they still hear her.

Rarity usually stays in the room that was provided for her and sweety, she is extremely paranoid after watching 2 of her friends get infected. She refuses to go outside without completely covering herself and has nightterrors.

Applejack tries to look after everyone on the farm, she is holding everyone together but loosing it a little.

Rainbow dash resides on the farm as well, she stays in the east side barn away from the house. Applejack goes to feed her twice a week bit checks on her almost everyday. Dash was infected and lost for days, when she was found her wings had completely rotted off and her back left leg was twisted up to the hip. Her bottom jaw was unhinged and disconnecting, eyes sunked in, surprisingly she was quite docile when approached.

Now that she resides at the barn she has had her lower jaw removed for her own safety and others.

Pinkie unfortunately came back into town after visiting her family's farm a few days after the infection came into ponyville. She was staying alone at the cakes border up but had already gotten infected.

She informed the others about what happened and apple jack offered pinkie to stay at the farm in the barn (this was before they found rainbow dash).

It started at her neck first, popping and twisting. It didn't seem to hurt her, she kept smiling through it all and giggling but we could tell she's terrified.

Sweetybelle and applebloom tied some balloons to pinkie to make her feel better.

She didn't last very long May 4-5 days until it completely took over her.

She is extremely dangerous and violent.

The balloons were made permanently floating by magic so others could see her approaching from far away.

the elements lived on without the tree though if only those were needed to restore everfree, it would have been tamed years ago. wild violent heart wrenching magic wielded by element bearers - the first born alicorns at that - had damaged their castle and the surrounding land. luna's theory was something akin to the opposite was required to settle the forest. she'd told the idea to celestia and set starswirl on figuring out just what sort of spell would undo such harm. the old unicorn doubted that exact contrasting spells to what they'd fought with would work. he'd wondered if the sisters just needed to wing it. rekindle their bond, reconnect to celestial and familial harmony.

they'd never gotten the chance to try. equestria couldn't wait for the two sisters to fix their synergy when citizens were in danger. ponies safety trumped all. luna wishes they'd had more time. peace or space for another civilian adventure without their crowns. starlight's spell might have opened their eyes but when the sun rose, there were still things to do duties to attend to. she should've fought harder to find the days to just spend with her sister. talking, sharing, frolicking like fillies.

now she considers erasing everfree from existence. destroying the problem once and for all before it could hurt anyone else. there was no guarantee even that would work. there was no harmony in such a destructive act who knew what would come of it? ponies weren't meant for discordant magic. dark magic, obviously, but nature breaking chaos was discord's realm not any alicorn's.

her moon drifts on. stained glass tints light with faint color where it strikes the floor. the vast room feels cold and empty. celestia's throne remains. luna had almost bitten the first to dare suggest moving it. that surge of violence was hers alone, not nightmare. star hot rage built in seconds and she'd lashed out, teeth snapping, canines bared. for a terrifyingly long moment after she was unable to speak. such disrespect to her sister rendered the queen incapable of anything beyond feral uncivilized sounds.

weight shifts to back legs, allowing front hoof to cock and take pressure off prosthetic. she too had completely forgotten about the pillars. starswirl had done the eulogy but that was the last she'd seen of him. luna was always very good at not being social even when she didn't intend to be. canterlot's night staff was cut, with pay of course, when celestia died to give her more privacy. she'd simply never hired new ones. the night returned to being hers and hers alone to wander silent halls like a phantom.

"equestria should remember her." as it hadn't remembered luna. she knows older ruler had been incredibly ashamed and guilt ridden over banishment. nightmare moon deserved to be lost to the dawn. tall white horse who held several statues over the capitol had a constellation in her image.

insecurity is quickly stomped down at the question. the two sisters had been raised in a time when music was the only entertainment. when magic and harmony was still new to equine kind. harmony magic itself often presented in song. other species didn't suddenly know lyrics or choreography. the dragons had been baffled upon witnessing several ponies sing about their journey. luna nods decisively. "yes. she sang to me. i should return the favor."

only after asking does she remember fluttershy is the musician of the group. "we could ask fluttershy." though there were dozens of renowned writers who would love to compose for a queen, they likely wouldn't capture the original sound as well. "i could sing you that song in my sleep, twilight sparkle." it still infiltrated her dreams. the first time she'd heard it in person she had sobbed for over an hour. celestia did too.

a tired bitter part of her doubts their search will come up with much. the summer sun celebration nightmare crashed had no mention of luna. the elements themselves standing where two had fought so long ago didn't seem to know they were sisters. despite their color and build difference, celestia always took after the grace of old unicorns compared to luna's pegasi strength, both were still alicorns. no other being had successfully moved the heavens for so long.

"good night sister mine. rest now in moonlight's embrace." the melody drifts from her throat like smoke pulled in the wind. luna looks to the large portrait of two circling ponies with fresh tears in her eyes. "fate has been cruel and order unkind. the harmony's silent today." it's out of order but she doesn't care. large black tipped wings unfurl and bring her into the air. one hoof reaches out gently to the glass, tracing celestia's cheek. she slowly descends back to the floor and shakes herself off from horn to tail.

her moon is still on track. the stars remain. neither of them are morning ponies. the alicorn clears her throat and turns back to younger. how twilight has grown. she'd seen so many pictures of her as a filly. how young the mare had been when the elements returned - when the tree was destroyed. thirty sixty years is less than a blink to luna. "i don't believe i'm sleeping this day, would you like to start our search now? or would you like to go to bed?"

harmony. twilight's ears perk at that word. she hadn't brought herself to utter it as often, not since the tree's destruction. the treehouse sufficed as a home out of its remains, of course, but its spirit was forever damaged. twilight had been terrified of the idea that the elements, following their own shattering, no longer worked. without the tree, they couldn't make more; they were gone. or... so she thought, at first.

the battle against king sombra had proved otherwise, just as it had with the battle of tirek... she and her friends continued to embody the elements that had once retained the shape of the marks that embroidered their flanks. not needing the tree of harmony for harmony... well, it made sense. the elements were what kept the forest in check, and they were what banished the creatures and purified the evil that they had battled in the past. the tree didn't need to do that, not so long as its bearers lived. before twilight can answer, luna's voice echoes across the castle walls once again.

" she... y-yes, that's just like her, " twilight stumbles out, almost wanting to laugh. celestia was violently protective when she wanted to be. when she had to be. the magic she wielded, both dark and light, and the sun she carried within her and around her world... twilight so often wishes that she had been the one to fall in her place, but equestria would've had to bear the front of celestia's grief. the everfree would be gone. what evils exist would be destroyed without second thought.

but... that didn't seem like celestia... though twilight didn't know her as well as luna once had. luna had once too many times seen what celestia was truly capable of if she allowed her full powers to shine through and be utilized. she had once wielded the elements of harmony... what slept within her had only grown to a peak until she burned out.

" still, i- "

before twilight can finish, the wind of luna's flapped wings makes her stumble backwards, crown glowing as she adjusts it atop her head the moment it ceases, its wearer quickly silenced. she rights herself, staring up at the queen with widened eyes. she watches her prance before her. the pony of night has a glaze over her eyes that forces twilight to zip her lips, lest she break the mare's concentration. how many thoughts are flooding her head? twilight barely registers luna's suggestions at first, then with a startled sound her horn ignites, and a notepad with a quill manifests before her. her hornwriting is illegible to others than herself as she writes down luna's suggestions, forcing herself to pause to scribble out the zipline part...

" a story sharing circle... yes, that works perfectly! " twilight exclaims, eyes glistening. " oh, the pillars... they must've taken the news just as harsh as we did. i-i... i should check in on starswirl again, i can't believe i didn't... n-nevermind. " the empress mumbles as her quill slows its pace against the notepad's page, up to speed with the current suggestion. " you... you want to sing? "

had twilight ever heard luna sing before? she couldn't recall a time where the pony's voice had been little more than speaking, a whisper, a shout. she couldn't imagine what the mare's voice sounded like in a song form. she wasn't opposed either way.

" yes, of course, " twilight nodded fervently. " i... can do my best at any rate. i-i've never been the best at songwriting, but... y-you remember what has already been written. i can work off of it easily, i'm certain. "

twilight pauses to think, scratching behind her head with a hoof. what more had celestia done for her sister her absence... twilight felt guilty that she couldn't think of anything on the spot. but, it wasn't like she was being forced to. she shakes her head.

" y-yes, there are plenty of records that i can look through, and some of the older canterlot ponies may have some ideas... m-most of what was done was during the summer sun celebration, but i'm sure celestia- " she winces hearing herself say that name again. she had avoided saying it for a while, only hearing the little filly that had once stood at celestia's side while the mare taught her the most basic of magical spells when she said it. but, quickly, she swallows and continues speaking before the opportunity to spiral arrises. " -had done more. more than... e-even i know. i- we would... have to ask around. a-and quickly so that we have enough time to prepare all that is necessary. "
