it's been one thousand years but here, progress on words that are being typed:
fieldwork notes: 30.9k. I wrote this in less than a month. If I have to write any more fieldwork notes I'll explode. (100% done until the next time I'm stupid enough to do fieldwork)
journal article: FINAL (I desperately hope) ROUND OF REVISIONS ABOUT TO BE SUBMITTED (this better be 100% done I swear to frick)
syllabi for fall: 70% done on one, 60% done on one, 2% done on one (sob)
the review I have to write because I'm halfway to tenure review I guess: 0 words. 0% done. starting on it this weekend probably.
t4t pvp: *closes eyes* 43.3k (I don't know. I don't know. 50% done? I feel like it has to be at least 50% done)
fake dating AU: I thought about this a lot the other day. but the word count remains unchanged.
other things: maybe they will happen. but do not hold your breath.

aaaah I just got my class schedule for the playwriting program I'm starting in the fall and holy shit I'm so excited.
One of our regular classes is called "moral complexity and civic engagement" I'm READYYYYYYY
There's also a regular class on Indigenous theatre, as well as some shorter sessions on opera libretto creation and a week-long class on puppetry and object theatre.
Less excited for the 9:30am monday morning movement class but at least it'll keep me fit while I'm spending the rest of my life writing lol

tagged by my wonderful mutual zee @juliebarnes to share my reading status as of late :o)
last read: pageboy by elliot page! i’ve been reading a lot more memoirs this year and i really liked this one. maybe not the most revelatory in terms of prose or anything but elliot was someone i saw myself in in movies like juno at a young age that were formative for me so reading about his experiences growing up trans and finding their way as a young actor was very interesting.
currently reading: the orange eats creeps by grace krilanovich + the dark stuff: selected writings on rock music by nick kent - i've been reading the dark stuff on and off for a few months since it's a collection of essays so i just crack it open every once in awhile and read one of em. this is technically currently reading it to my mind so i am including it here. i started the orange eats creeps recently, it's quite strange and has this stream-of-consciousness wordy and hallucinatory kind of style, it's a sort of warped weird vampire story and i like it so far. when i saw it in the bookstore and cracked it open the first words i saw scanning the introduction were "dashes of Burroughs and Tom Verlaine playing guitar in the background" and "a pulse, an arterial signal, a viscera of the psyche" and that definitely indicated it would be right up my alley. excited to see how it turns out.
upcoming reads: plainwater by anne carson, derek jarman's angelic conversations by jim ellis, and walking through clear water in a pool painted black by cookie mueller. [honestly i could list probably ten books i have in the upcoming rotation but for the sake of brevity i will end here]
tagging @theamericanfriend1977 @tedhead @pleasuresoftheharbor @westerberg 😁😁🫶🏻
