I think saying that wash should've been more involved in ct's arc in s10 is possibly a controversial take, but I stand by it. like it would've slapped so hard to have wash and ct have a scene together that paralleled york and carolina's scene at the end of s10 (because I'm so mad the wash/lina parallels never went anywhere despite them clearly being set up to do so).

york and carolina fell apart because they didn't communicate, and they both assumed the other would always be by their side and stand by them. it was messy and emotional and neither of them ever got over the other.

wash and ct did communicate, and they didn't have a sudden falling out. they slowly drifted apart and they both had an understanding of the others' motives and what was driving the choices they made. neither of them were happy about the outcome, but they both understood that it wasn't personal.

ct's speech to lina and tex in s10 would've hit so much harder if it had been said to the person she had been trying to convince to see the truth all of s9, not the person who told her to "watch her mouth" at the mere suggestion of the director doing something questionable. a last ditch attempt to get the one person she knows would join her if she just had a little more time—

unfortunately for ct, her gamble on tex had yet to come to fruition, and wash, while willing to listen and planning on apprehending her so they could talk, couldn't stop tex from using lethal force.

also yall know a wash and ct knife fight would've been sick to watch.

idk how to express it but i feel like around late 2016 tumblr had this really nasty turn that was different and more insidious to the one a lot of the internet had. at the same time as bigots on other platforms were becoming way too comfortable with being outwardly bigoted, people on here became way too comfortable with dismissing people who weren't them as 'cringe'. and they didn't even just say that, they came up with slimy excuses for it, shit like 'pan people are all biphobic bc some of them misunderstand the label's definition and misuse it' and 'aspec people aren't valid bc we don't see the oppression they face and don't care to, we just point to the fact they didn't suffer much in the aids crisis'. not to mention how a lot of media people saw as progressive became unpopular overnight because of said online bigots dismissing it, and people on here couched that up in progressive language to justify agree with them.

the point i'm getting at is i don't fucking trust people on here who have a 'people who are in a group/fandom i don't approve of are all evil' mentality, bc most of the time it comes from wanting to justify seeing things in a stupidly oversimplistic way and hate people you feel no connection to by putting it in an 'acceptable' framing

It always annoys me when I’m reading something that’s mentioning Bruce’s kids in different continuities and I get to Ibn Al Xu’ffasch’s name. Because that literally translates into “son of the bat.” It’s not a first name or even a title exactly, because in Arabic and like a thousand years ago (give or take, i’m not very knowledgeable in this regard) that’s how they’d call someone since last names weren’t very commonly used, if at all. (Yet again, not very knowledgeable here, feel free to correct me, but I think only noblemen may have had proper last names.)

To be more precise, they’d commonly use a man’s first name + ibn (meaning son) + his father’s name, to refer to who he is. Similarly they would refer to a woman through the same formula, only they replaced ‘ibn’ with ‘bint’ to mean ‘the /daughter/ of’.

I mean, if they used something like this to refer to Damian by saying something along the lines of ‘Damian ibn al Xu’ffasch,’ then that would make sense to me. But just straight up using ‘Ibn Al Xu’ffasch’ is just ridiculous idk.

We pretty much knew Kirby and the Forgotten Land wasn't going to be properly post-apocalyptic, because while Kirby does routinely fight elder gods, they never actually get to succeed in eradicating all life, but I feel like Nintendo's workaround of "everything is deserted because a high-tech human civilisation captured an alien god, tortured its secrets from it, achieved some sort of post-human singularity and ascended en masse to a higher plane of existence, abandoning their uplifted animal servants to inherit the empty world they left behind" is kind of more fucked up than if everything had just gotten blown up.
