Hi so in case anyone was dying to know, this is what i think some of the cast of the terror would look like as animals :3 notes under cut

From left to right:

Crozier- Irish Terrier

Silna- Polar Bear

Goodsir- ryeland sheep (known for tasty mutton ;3)

Hickey- red fox

Franklin- old english game rooster

Fitzjames- red deer

I had fun coming up with them :) and I kinda wanna doodle some screencaps but with like a lil short sheep goodsir and his bestie the giant polar bear lady silence whom he thinks would love England. Or like hickey on his bullshit but with more flair bc he would have a fox body and tail to really fuck up that line of action

So when my dog was younger (like 3-6 or 7 or so) I used to do my YouTube watching in the afternoons. No one else was home and I was off work and I'd sit and watch Mark's video/s for the day

I hadn't realized it had become a habit for her as much as me until we went to the beach with her for a week. On the way home I was catching up on videos (we didn't have any wifi at the rental) and looked up to see her head on the seat looking back at me, all content and happy listening to Mark's voice.

It would be another several years before I realized she'd lumped that voice in with the rest of her flock (herding dog lol), when one night around 2am she woke my mother up to let her out of their bedroom. Mom and I were both confused until Cassie sat right in front of the TV and whined, looking back at me with her "fix it 🥺" face. You see Mark was crying live on the TV. Unus Anus was ending and he was upset, she wanted me to help 😭

So what does this have to do with anything you ask?

Well you see I was trying to watch Edge of Sleep, she was quietly and contentedly sleeping on the couch, when suddenly she's doing that low growl at me. "What is it?" I ask turning around. Only to see her making that same face of like "why are you letting that man be sad??" Like...oh....shit right 😅😅

Welp! Guess I'm watching the rest of this with headphones after she goes to bed 😂

goal: be silly with your dog and create more moments of connection in your day

disclaimer: idk your dog so adjust or skip this game accordingly

activity: while your dog is not actively engaged with you, look their way and give them increasingly ridiculous compliments in an engaging voice without calling them over to you directly. see how many compliments it takes to get them to come over and love on you.

tip: you can use an increasingly inviting voice if it takes them some time to engage. use soft eye contact when youre looking at them to avoid putting too much pressure on them engaging. if they don't want to engage, just finish listing your compliments and disengage.

goal: this one is particularly great for you as a person because it tricks you into thinking about all the things you like about your dog. building connection goes both ways!

So I got Tali after I had been diagnosed with chronic migraines, which means for pretty much her entire life, she has lived without the use of artificial lights. When the sun goes down, that's it. It's dark time.

What this means is that whenever we visit someone who actually uses the modern invention of the light bulb, she will spend five minutes glaring at that person until she deliberately shoves her face into a pillow or under a blanket or whatever else she can find, because the day is done and she has seen enough, and if you were good and proper you would agree and turn that damn light off.
