Halloween prompts year 2 day 9
Au where the accident happened when Danny was like, 7 and Danny starts to see his parents are really crappy people. Like full narcissists. Luckly hes young enough that the conditioning hasn't set in and he's just mad about it
Tired of being talked over, ignored, neglected, guilt tripped and otherwise emotionally abused, he wanders around the ghost zone to vent his frustrations through combat. Eventually a fortune teller/seer/oracle ghost makes him an offer, a fraction of his power in return for finding the family he seeks. He agrees and she tells him his birth fathers name is Jason Peter Todd and that he will require proof to believe this.
She then punts him into the portal that opened up behind him.
Danny seeks out Jason, excited for a family who might actually care about him. But when he finds him he remembers the ladys words and decided he needed to steal some of his dads hair for a dna test so he'll have proof both to prove to himself that the lady wasn't just messing with him and to show Jason. The problem was that Jason was a ridiculously light sleeper and kept waking up to Danny standing in the doorway/ at the foot of his bed/ next to his bed/ or invisible and making the room cold out of frustration.
Jason is freaking out cause he thinks hes hallucinating his child self standing in doorways and around his bed at night.
...and when he discovers the truth he has violent flashbacks to when he was searching for his birth mother and how that ended. So hes like extra overprotective of the kid that he suddenly can't freaking find cause he scared the crap outta him earlier thinking it was a demon/ manifestation of his trauma or something
Bruce and his flock are not coming within 500 feet of his kid
Unfortunately, Danny discovers that Jason is a crime lord as well as some of the horrible things he had done and thinks Jason is worse than his adoptive parents. It probably doesn't help that Jason threatened him and scared him off before finding out who the kid was.
Now Danny is trying to silence his sobbing (and failing) outside inthe Gotham rain. He's terrified and one of the other bats find him and they wind up chasing him around as a group because this kid is so slippery and obviously terrified.
Who would have thought that the only person he would be willing to talk to Robin, a fellow kid
#halloween prompts#prompts#dpxdc#fanfiction prompts#danny phantom#danny fenton#jason todd#danny is now very distrustful of adults#danny will only talk to Damian for a while and miiight hide behind him#does damian become protective? yes. does damian let anyone touch his charge? not unless they have fur.

kids when they hear that their dad is back in town VS. kids when theyre hanging out with a conman that accidentally stole their wallet once
im not even joking btw
bonus heres me being crazy about them in dms ^^^

do you have any headcanons in regards to kai chisaki's bio parents? did he get thrown out or do you think they died. or both. or a secret third thing i haven't considered. /from kainagant
i ABSOLUTELY have chisaki-parent headcanons. content warnings for discussions of child abuse/neglect/abandonment under the cut because chisaki is my favorite character and therefore i can and will put him through hell :)
These headcanons are kind of crack, but I think his bio father was Yaoyorozu's grandfather, the patriarch of the Yaoyorozu clan. His bio mother was the guy's secretary who he had to fire to hide the fact that he had an affair 🫢 She managed to extort a lot of child support/hush money from him, citing the fact that she had to take care of a baby and also the fact that she had his wife's phone number.
...not that any of that money actually went to child support, mind you. She was the type of mother who treated her child as an obligation at best and a show prize at worst--she enrolled baby kai in an expensive all-girls school (he's trans and i will fight you on that) so she could brag to her friends about it, but she would also make him go to school while sick and would only rarely cook any kind of meals for him. he was usually on his own to find or cook food in the house, and when an accident inevitably happened and he broke a dish she'd scream at him like he did it on purpose.
(In all honesty, I think she was the egotistical mean girl type who no one would want to hang out with if she didn't have power over them of some kind. In a modern AU Chisaki would 100% hang out on/gain a lot of comfort from r/raisedbynarcissists, as ableist as that sub can be.)
There are some points in the abuse cycle where she tries to reconcile with him, but of course solely on her terms. Usually she'd try to win him over by spending money on a bunch of new toys, almost always dolls or other "girl toys", instead of doing things like apologizing for screaming, asking him how his day went, or even asking him what toys he'd actually want and buying those. (Sound familiar?)
Of course, it only gets worse when baby Kai starts showing signs of being autistic. She absolutely takes him not looking her in the eye as a personal slight, along with playing with his toys "wrong", not liking certain foods or textures, stimming too loudly, or generally being 'strange'. Because of course she does. And of course, Overhaul isn't very easy to control at such a young age, and she takes *that* personally too--she's absolutely called him cursed and monster because of his Quirk.
But moving on to how he ended up on the street. When Kai's eight, she decides that she's done with her "creepy weirdo daughter" and dumps him at an orphanage. For the next couple years he's going to be running away from orphanages, living on the streets, getting dragged back to orphanages, and so on. There may also be shitty foster homes involved, if the Japanese welfare system is like that at all. He'll realize early on the weirdness of gender (he cuts his hair super short a few weeks after the abandonment, gets asked if he's a boy in a dress or a girl with short hair, and realizes that he could be whatever he wanted) and bounce between presentations during this time, and just so happened to be in boymode when the oyaji found him, which is how he got stuck in boymode for basically ever. But that's a story for another time, and not what you asked about.
Anyways, so, to recap: bio dad is the Yaoyorozu patriarch and Momo's grandad, bio mom is the secretary he had an affair with and also a shitbag (which left Chisaki with massive emotional scars), and I think he got abandoned/kicked out as a little girl.
#chisaki kai#headcanons#bnha#tw child neglect#tw child abuse#original characters#and of course all of this leads to him being someone who deeply devalues himself#is desperate to seem 'normal'#has a deep distrust of any and all adults/authority#and is in general just all around really fucking anxious and miserable :)

Moral Orel doesn't seem 100% like a show I'd feel seen in if you don't know me but then I remember the episode with the special ed kids and underneath the usual satire on extremist bible belt religion it reminds me WAY too much of how actual special ed departments treated me and other kids growing up.
Like the writers must HAVE BEEN THERE IN LIFE, man. I'd kill to sit down with Dino Stamatopoulos and find out what the fuck inspired him and the other writing staff that day.
#husbandothings#moral orel#bonus fun tag rant? bonus fun tag rant...apparently#in those departments you are immediately written off as a tragic forever toddler by at least 50% of the staff regardless of your disability#there's good ones but the bad ones bring the fun spicy trauma#it doesn't matter how smart you actually are you gotta draw the sad face on that boy on the comic sans worksheet at the age of 15#in your free lesson spaces that you got because of reasons#if someone tells me they're a teaching assistant or have “qualifications” in autism and special needs development i immediately distrust#because I have never met a neurotypical person with those qualifications who knows how to treat kids like humans especially autistic kids#funniest part? I was mostly in the special ed department because of my hearing and not totally my undiagnosed autism#and a little because of wonky emotional development from get this...a freaking religious school#like i see adults in the show and i see the headteacher who tried to tell my parents i should forgive the bullies because jesus would#even though the truth is way more nuanced but he just wanted to wash his hands of it#it's funnier than it should be because that teacher would fit right in to this show for that and additional reasons I won't state here#my family were atheists but thought the school would be good#the weird thing is at that time as a little kid I liked the idea of believing in god but nothing that happened proved Him to me#and moral orel hits because it resonates with the fact i genuinely believe religion can do good and it's all about the people#the ones who want to use that faith for good in the world and surviving rough crap and not to do things that would make jesus flip tables#that has stuck with me for over a decade as has the people who felt the show reinforced their christianity#but anyway

mari dayurno your mind… going insane with every new snippet of keremy haters au
Now I’m so curious about why Kevin decides to sleep with Jeremy,, but I shall wait Bravely!
I’m also curious who else we will see in the fic ! Are we going to see to horrible freshmen a lot ? For a second I thought robin might be there but then I realized it’s still too early. Are the Real Adults going to be relevant ?
So excited for this really
BAHAHA well kevin’s reasons for sleeping with jeremy are a lot more straightforward. besides the obvious enjoyment of it and the fact he is attracted to jeremy despite the horrible attitude, jeremy’s life for the past four years has been continuously miserable—he doesn’t really enjoy anything besides exy (and even that is questionable), he’s angry at everything, he lost the one thing he sacrificed everything in his life for, and no one treats him as anything but a flight risk even in the foxes. sleeping with kevin is Good for him in the sense that it gives him something to enjoy; it humanizes and recenters him to have any kind of intimacy that isn’t violent or rushed or derisive of his consent. it also gets a lot of the aggression out, which is a plus 😭
but i think the main reason is that kevin doesn’t hate jeremy. jeremy hates him, but it’s not reciprocal—kevin believes jeremy is ambitious and disciplined, and furthermore they spend almost every waking moment playing together, practicing together, eating together. jeremy looks out for him and acts like an actual raven partner, and though he’s unstable at best and an active danger at worst, getting to be around him all the time means kevin sees him on his rare moments of peace. he’s not necessarily likeable at any point, but kevin’s used to picking apart the good from the bad in people, and he has the privilege of understanding where jeremy is coming from a lot more than the foxes. the tl;dr is that kevin has a little crush
you’ll see a lot of jack because he’s jeremy’s roommate! also a lot of the upperclassmen for the first half of jeremy’s fifth year, and a portion of the second half goes to jeremy constantly referring to renee as jean’s ex to upset him :) & yes, the real adults (heh) are actually the most prominent side characters! betsy plays a role as both kevin’s and jeremy’s therapist, and abby is probably the most consistently on-screen character besides kevin, jeremy and (eventually) jean. coach wymack has some heartwarming moments too, but he leaves most of the jeremy mess for kevin and abby to take care of by their request
#abby is an angel and a dream and she makes jeremys mommy issues incredibly worse#of the adults trio she’s probably the only one jeremy actually trusts#he has a similar distrust of betsy as kevin did at the start#because he sees that she’s close to andrew and at this point to kevin as well#so it’s hard for him to trust her even a little bit#he’s so paranoid 😭 girl#asks#keremy#raven among doves

Oh! That’s interesting!
I don’t know what to do with that information but it’s interesting nonetheless!
Does the Star Wand exchange value cover all future visits, or just this one?
Please Yuuko let me read the terms and conditions.
OOOOH
The implication of RESULTS from that choice that are much further reaching than we can comprehend just yet?
What would that choice even entail?
We just don’t know!
Though I DO love how this is essentially an Exchange Student scenario between Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa.
And that Syaoran in Cardcaptor Sakura ALREADY WAS an exchange student only in town to accomplish a certain important thing involving a Sakura.
So mark another tally in the CCS parallel box!
Meanwhile Clamp directly mention Lava Lamp’s parents in the dialogue again here, deliberately asking you to remember who they are and where they are, which is only notable because I still can’t for sure point to either eventuality with 100% certainty and say I’m SURE it’s them.
Reading Clamp really does things to you.
#In this case the things it does#Are suspicion and distrust#Especially if things that seem very clear#Because it’s JUST what they want you to think!#Liveblogging the reservoir chronicle#Tsubasa#Vol 191#Lava lamp guy#Sakura#Which Sakura?#A Sakura#Yuuko Ichihara#Gosh watching all the adults in these events#Grapple with the knowledge that like FATE ITSELF#rests on the choices made by a six year old#is tense to say the least

21. What kind of relationships do they tend to intentionally seek out versus actually cultivate? What kind of social contact do they prefer, and why?
Character Dev Questions | no longer accepting
One of Wriothesley's regrets is that he can't trust other people, which naturally impacts his ability to develop relationships. He understands this about himself well enough that he can articulate it in his voice lines, so I believe that he's pretty conscious of it. That is to say, his relationships are almost entirely professional and he prefers to keep them that way. There is value in networking, and you can see by the number of characters who know of him that he's prolific with his connections and reputation, but he views himself as a businessman first and foremost. Who you know can make all the difference in securing funds for a new project, or hiring some extra protection to deal with a rowdy gang of inmates, or even opening up unique avenues to limited resources, so he likes to keep a wide array of acquaintances. He isn't picky about what kinds of people he throws his lot in with though. Some wayward pickpocket could be just as useful to him one day as someone rich and socially powerful. Wriothesley is nothing if not resourceful.
While Wriothesley is amicable and easy to get along with, I do think there's a callousness to his use of relationships. In Navia's voice line about him, she says she's been told not to trust anything he says. Wriothesley implies that he has no qualms with cheating. And in in his character quest, he manipulates the Traveler to help him oust Dougier and his schemes. The game presents this trait in a, if not entirely positive, lighthearted way, but that's because the playable characters in Genshin are very rarely allowed to be anything but Good. Clorinde and Emilie's voice lines about him imply that there's likely shadier things afoot, so I do believe that Wriothesley toes the line of morality more often than not. Realistically, this is the only way someone would be able to gain power over a pseudo-meritocratic society of criminals and keep it.
Circling back to the question, I don't know if "cultivate" is really something Wriothesley does with relationships so much as "maintains." Sending gifts to business partners, for example, agreeing to favors, helping others out if it's within his power to do so, because he knows gestures like these go a long way in keeping yourself in someone else's good graces, even if you rarely speak. A few boxes of tea sent to a business partner on her daughter's birthday could become 500 tons of ore at a slashed rate. There is, however, no emotional investment in these relationships. As for social contact, Wriothesley as "the Duke" prefers very little. The mystery of his persona serves him quite well, so he avoids the spotlight and makes himself a limited commodity within the Fortress. The inmates there consider meeting with him to be on par with winning an audience with the king, after all. Without his title, although these situations are much more rare (and in fact he seems uncomfortable outside of the Fortress), he enjoys mundane pleasures. Picnicking with a friend. Enjoying the weather at a cafe. Talking over a pot of tea. It's these moments that one might find themselves likelier to pry a personal fact or two out of him, but he's still frustratingly difficult to get to know on a deeper level.
#out of character#headcanons#// hoyo set wriothesley up to be machiavellian and then sanded down his hard edges at the last minute#// I do still believe he lives by the idea that it's better to be feared than to be loved#// who would have thought that the trauma of being betrayed by your loved ones in your formative years would make you a#// distrustful and manipulative adult#sedena

disclaimer: blah blah blah, this post is just one person’s opinion, blah blah blah, I’m basing said opinion on my own observations but there are no doubt pieces of the story that I’m missing and my opinions should not be treated as fact, something something, DO NOT harass the volunteers at AO3 support or anyone else over any of this, if you harass anyone over this then you are the asshole, period. not a debate, just a fact.
SO, LIKE. I honestly don’t have anything of actual significance to add to the current round of AO3 Discourse because all of my complicated feelings on it have already been said better by other people
(e.g., axing “all media types” tags was a bad idea; some fans may not like them but they are too broadly helpful to be done away with entirely; this is a complex issue, there is likely no way to make literally everyone happy; there should’ve been more transparency and AO3 upset people more by rolling the change out with little to no warning; lumping former “all media types” works into a specific fandom silo was all but guaranteed to piss people off; the Archive userbase being hair-trigger makes a lot of sense after some of AO3’s very high-profile fuck ups in the past few years; however, the three (3) volunteers handling the support tickets are not the people who made the decision and it’s garbage that they’re the ones who are left dealing with so much of the vitriol from upset fans; etc. etc. etc.)
My big question in all of this is: if the people on the tag-wrangling committee who made this decision actually thought that getting rid of the “All Media Types” tag was going to be a broadly popular decision with a lot of support from users, then why didn’t AO3 do more to announce this change to users before it started being implemented?
If we are supposed to believe the version of the story that has come out from AO3’s people, the one where they really did believe that it was in the best interests of the majority of AO3 users to get rid of “All Media Types” tags, then why doesn’t their behavior about the decision reflect that? Why didn’t they post more to let Archive users know that this was coming? Why didn’t they talk up what a great change this was going to be and how many people and fandoms would allegedly benefit from it?
Why is it that most users (readers and authors alike) seem to have found out about this from popular posts on reddit, tumblr, or twitter, all made by aggrieved fans whose fandoms have been negatively impacted by the decision? Because as far as I can tell, there was a single solitary post on the official AO3 tumblr about this, which went up AFTER the change had started rolling out and got its reblogs turned off because of all the backlash?
Not to treat “say that shit with your chest” as uniformly useful advice, but……… Come on, AO3. If you really stood behind the decision to get rid of “All Media Types” tags as much you’re claiming—if you really, truly believed that it was in the best interests of the Archive as a whole and that the majority of Archive users would support you in it—then why didn’t you say that shit with your chest?
Because to me, failing to announce the change ahead of time—and then only doing the bare minimum to let users know—looks like moves to try and hide what’s happening, which does not make me, personally, inclined to believe the “We really thought that this would be a popular decision with broad user support” story
I do not have any explanations for what could’ve happened instead of the official story. Moreover, I’m don’t actually want to speculate on that beyond saying “The way this was publicly handled makes me personally feel disinclined to believe the official story” because conspiratorial bullshit thinking like that doesn’t help anybody (it’s way more likely to cause unnecessary harm, especially by spreading ideas that may sound true enough but are probably not gonna be based in reality, when you get down to brass tacks about it)
But the way that this whole change was handled publicly makes me personally feel disinclined to believe the story as put forth by the official post from AO3, and as a longtime Archive user with millions of words of fic posted on the site, who donates to AO3 and the OTW when I can? I really don’t enjoy feeling like I have even more reason than before to distrust Archive staff :/
#mine: text#kassie hush#mine: opinions#opinions for ts#fandom shenanigans#wank for ts#archive of our own#ao3#for transparency’s sake: the big reasons i have previously had to distrust the people running ao3 mostly revolve around them fucking up very#badly about handling racism & racist harassment on the archive. actual bipoc fans critics & scholars have written about this before but i do#think there are cases where you can tell very easily that any given fic is not ‘depicting racism but not condoning it’ & is in fact intended#to be racist harassment of bipoc in fandom spaces (the nazi omegaverse fic that called out dr. rukmini pande by name in the tags comes to#mind as does the ‘colonizer!lan wangji’ au from the mdzs/untamed fandom :///#i need to be getting ready for my vaccine appointment later but lol i am not being a responsible adult whoops#also there is a massive fucking fly in my room and i need it to gtfo

Continuation of the Kris meeting the Dreemurrs doodles that I did!
Chara was so used to Frisk/Asriel vibes of "I just met you but I love you, and trust you with my life", that they got a bit of whiplash when dealing with Kris.
Dont worry, Kris did end up warming up to Chara! It just took a little while.

re: my previous complaining I'm just saying, playing as an SD rook it is really weird that nobody has an issue with Rook (or even Neve, who is a mage which in combination to the rest of the world has always translated as magister, and there could've been a really interesting plot point w/ that considering even as a mage Neve has no power in Tevinter bc she's 'just' a Laetan, and Red has even less being a Soporati) being from a place that's routinely demonized by everyone else around them, justified or otherwise. Red faces no roadblocks based on people's preconceptions abt who she is because she's from Tevinter, especially with the Veil Jumpers. You got a little bit of it w/ the First Warden, but that's abt it.
Like is it not strange that the VJs like Strife, Irelin, and Bellara, who are all Dalish and the faction itself is intrinsically tied to Dalish culture, just instantly accept it when someone from Tevinter (and I get they're not really accounting for race, but a Tevene human on top of it) comes to Arlathan claiming to be spearheading the fight against Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain? Not that fantasy racism is good or anything and I get it's the end of the world and there's bigger problems, but Tevinter's always had this evil boogeyman reputation (even if they often deserve it) and 'Vints have routinely in the past been demonized for like. happening to exist while minding their own business (see: Dorian, even Krem a little). Where's that sense that Red can't get anywhere bc she's a Scary Evil Vint? Emmrich faces more blowback for being a necromancer than Red does for being Tevene.
#saint plays da4#da4 spoilers#ask to tag#like I said on one hand I can appreciate that people are adults who can communicate in this game it's fresh that people aren't constantly#at each other's throats. On the other I think in a game mostly abt uniting disparate factions against a huge threat across the northern par#of a continent that sense of teeth-clenched teamwork and often justified distrust is missing. Why do people trust the Crows or LoF so much.#the SDs are extremely secretive and nobody knows anything abt them and - well. It's Tevinter. who the fuck has ever wanted to help Tevinter#and like the Venatori are international. is it not weird that the Crows Just Accept It when an unknown Tevinter national just#out of the blue one day contacts you asking for the Demon of Vyrantium (who's main target is high level Venatori) in specific.#I would be suspicious. and I get you're limited bc the plot and ppl's reactions can't change *this* much just for one potential origin but.

s2 “I don’t want to hurt anyone” lana vs s7 ‘kidnapping lionel and hitting him with a shovel when he tries to escape’ lana
#smallville#lana lang#I just think that she!!!#like I don’t subscribe to the notion that she should have went the villainous route#bc she’s so driven by love and compassion for others#but she’s also driven by a strong sense of loyalty!#and as an adult she would do ANYTHING to keep her loved ones safe#even lie and steal and hurt ppl#I’d say she’s probably closest to Ollie in terms of ideology???#but s8 tries to align her more with Clark…when like they never got past his distrust of her in s7#bc they put her in a coma as soon as they started mending their relationship#n e ways…I just think that Lana’s morality is complex and interesting but gets glossed over bc#like most things about her character#the writers aren’t really sure what they want to say and keep changing their minds

#and.....six of crows has yet to be topped#it's funny how every time a pair of unlikely people have to be paired up for a dangerous mission it's alwayssss compared to soc#and the comparison just never holds up#i am so baffled that this is an adult book bc the writing style was incredibly juvenile. very repetitive. a lot of telling not showing#six of crows had better character work By Far. i really felt who each of those characters were. and i felt how they bonded over time#in this book it was like. there's a bubbly quirky girl and the author's attempts at making her so made me cringe#it was very heavy handed#i could see what she wanted each character to be like but the execution was just not it#there was a part halfway through after they all finally met up where something happened and they had to work together to save someone#and in each character's pov it was just like 'they'd killed and lied for each other' 'they were family beyond blood'#and i was like ??? that's it???? idk i never felt them growing closer to each other. it's like the author relied more on telling us rather#than showing it#and then the romance..... don't get me started on the romance it was so poorly done almost like insta-love???#there was just no time for the feelings to develop it happened so quickly#i wasn't impressed at all#and like. i guess my main problem is too much showing not enough telling#'i can't trust her' 'i can't trust him' 'no one around me can be trusted'#it was so repetitive like okay i get it!!! but i wanted to Feel it. i wanted to feel the messiness and ugliness of this distrust#'we killed and bled for one another'👍🆗#when they all met with each other halfway through i got excited like yessss it's going to be ugly and nasty now i need them to be Messy#esp since this is an adult book i was really looking forward to new levels of debauchery but it was So tame and vanilla????#sure they killed people but nothing was even remotely close to the level of when kaz plucked out that guy's eyeball :(#that was vicious. we all still remember that. i expected that in this book but no....#can't believe six of crows is ya and it's superior to this supposedly adult book#let me list the good things though. it ws a super fast read at 500 pages#and i had no problem distinguishing the 6 povs from each other#and the climax was thrilling my heart pounded all throughout
