I still can't understand why Melia would make End-of-Nights "spell"

You know, the cheat code that Renegade Mc used to delete characters?

Like, so far, the "headcanon" i have just make Melia appear as evil, or at least, selfish.

So you discovered that Karma is controling multiple worlds/dimenssions. The fate of everything lie in its judgement. If your world is considered to be bad, things will died. If your world is considred as good/perfect, Karma will let the world flow naturally again.

How do you know your world is considered to be good? Bad people will always exist, accidents happen all the times etc. How can you judge that???

Unless, you don't have to be the ultimate good...you just have to be better than the other candidates

So, this is my dumb theory, Melia did it for the sake of the world she is currently living in, by giving away the weapon to other renegade interceptors, so they can destroy other worlds. In the end, the world in which Paragon Mc and Melia are reside in ends up being the "perfect" one.

delete: whump. may come as a surprise to some people, since im a notorious whumper (still am, a lil bit), but honestly the lesser of the three i could (probably) live without. it's fun when whump actually has meaning, but when it's whump for the sake of whump then it's bleh >.<

write: my demon slayer x atla fic The Last Wind-Breather, which is basically the atla characters as demon slayers in the atla world. i have not touched this thing in so long (i think i was almost done with the second chapter actually). might just finish and post the second chapter and not come back to this for some time. im done with atla for a while.

read: i don't really have any gen fic wips in the works right now? i mean, i do have my fix-it video game fic that i just posted like two days ago, i labeled it as gen under the strictest description that there isn't gonna be many, if any, romantic relationships in here since the main focus is gonna be plot and character development. altho the friendships go hard ngl. eh, i'll just post this here in case anyone's interested.

delete: ugh, honestly my aang dies in a thousand timeline and lives in one fic. i mean the idea was great, but looking back on the execution... meh. i think i might've tried too hard. oh well, i'll still keep it up cuz my ideology is to never delete my fics. still tho.

Blah blah blah nobody cares. I started this as a Maybe for Dethentines but I need immediate validation because I've been struggling with creative block it kind of changed enough that I didn't think it fit the prompt well enough for my taste. So, meh, no Dethentines. But here it is anyway.

Behind a Wall of Sleep

"Okay, Murderface, that's enough. If you're not gonna give us anything usable just come out and, I dunno, stand in the corner and think about what you've done."

"Hey fuck you, that wasch my bescht take all day!"

"Yeh an' it sounded like someone was beatin' a water buffalo with a shovel."

"And the buffalo was dying of dysentery. And just spewing—"

"It did not, it was perfectschun! And don't you dare tousch that track, Nathan, or I schwear I'll quit right now and go scholo."

"Okay see ya cuz I deleted that immediately. It was terrible. Like, bad in ways I can't even put into words. And words are my job. That bad. Skwisgaar you, uh, wanna weigh in here? Or do you just wanna fix it once Murderface is done with his tantrum?" Ignoring the rest of the bassist's fury, Nathan swiveled around on his chair, putting his back to the mixing desk and the man thrashing around in the booth. "Seriously?"

Nestled awkwardly into a corner of the blocky studio couch, Skwisgaar's head lolled at an uncomfortable angle against the low back cushion. His chest rose and fell with the steady breath of deep sleep, the body of his Explorer laying upside down on his lap, having fallen forward in his relaxed grip. Toki didn't bother looking up from his mobile game to answer the frontman.

"Oh, ja, he passed outs like twenty minutes ago. Why you think he not already tearin's Moidaface a new one for dat noise?"

"Fuck you, Toki!" Murderface's voice crackled over the speaker. "You're all a bunsch of tone deaf asscholesch. Isch he scheriouschly schleeping while I rock the performance of a lifetime in here? Unbelievable."

Pickles leaned across the control panel, engaging the talkback mic as Nathan vacated his seat. "Hey, why dontcha come on outta dere b'fore ya hurt yerself."

Skwisgaar didn't stir when Nathan prodded his shoulder with a meaty finger, or when Murderface slammed the booth door behind him and stomped over to hover at the taller man's elbow, but it was enough to finally pull Toki's attention and he slipped his phone into his pocket. Nathan poked the blonde again, in the forehead this time, without reaction. Not wanting to miss out on the fun, Toki giggled and reached sideways to jab a fingertip into Skwisgaar's cheek, stopping short as he gave a quiet snore.

"Oh man, he is out." Nathan snickered. "I don't understand how he could sleep through Murderface's bass committing suicide, but he's gone."

Pickles rose with a groan, arching backwards with his hands on his hips. "Prahb'ly cuz you've deleted eleven entire albums so far. Let the poor guy sleep while 'ee can b'fore ya set'im on rewrites again."

"No schrew that, you know what happensch when you fall aschleep first."

"I do?"

"Yeah. You get a dick drawn on your fasche." Murderface held out his hand expectantly. "Gimme your pen."

"Oh! Gives him a unibrow! No wait, a really stupids mustache!"

Nathan pulled his felt-tipped lyric pen from his pocket and Murderface snatched it. "You think he's a Tom Selleck or more of a Salvador Dali?"

"Guys…"

"Definitesly a Charlie Chaplins!" Toki chirped brightly, fingers flying to cover his mouth and stifle a laugh.

Reaching forward with an unsteady hand, Murderface attempted to pen the first mark. Before he made contact, Skwisgaar's nose scrunched and he swatted sleepily at his face before turning his head the other direction, Murderface barely pulling back in time to avoid notice.

"Yer naht gonna get more'n a John Waters before ya wake'im up, an' then he's gonna be totally bitchy thet ya drew all over his flawless mug. Jest leave'im be." Pickles plucked the marker from the bassist's fingers, giving it a hearty sniff. "Oh dhets a good one." He replaced the cap and pocketed the pen before turning on his heel for the door.

"Hey, that's mine!"

"C'mon then let's call it fer tonight, I'm thirsty. I'll have a drink er thirty and you guys can graffiti deh table er somethin'."

Toki trailed the rest as they filed out of the room, but his feet slowed at the threshold, Pickles' words ringing in his ears. The drummer was right, Skwisgaar would indeed be cranky if awakened. But he might even be more insufferable if he woke with a stiff neck from being left in the position where he'd crashed. He waved down a Klokateer and dispatched them on a fetch errand before re-entering the studio.

Skwisgaar had slunk further down, his shoulders hunched and chin resting on his chest so that he looked a bit like an owl with its feathers ruffled, his long legs stretched out ahead of him like talons ready to pluck a rabbit from the snow. Toki gave his nose an experimental boop.

"Okei, sleepyhead, let's gets you situated." He lifted the guitar out of Skwisgaar's lap and leaned it carefully against the back wall. Giving the blonde a gentle shove, Toki tipped him sideways. "You gonna end up four inches shorter in de morning if you stays like dat."

Skwisgaar did little more than sigh drowsily as Toki tugged off his boot and lifted his foot into the couch, repeating with the other leg as the Klokateer reappeared.

"The items you requested, sire." They held up the bedding, a downy pillow, plush and inviting atop the folded blanket.

"T'anks, dat will be all." He didn't wait to see if the Gear left when dismissed, turning to unfurl the throw over Skwisgaar's prone form. Toki gingerly lifted the other man's head, careful not to pull the champagne-colored mane that spilled through his fingers. "You know, I ams only doing dis because you always makes sure I don'ts dies in my own frow ups when I drinks too much. So I kinda owes you." He slid the pillow into place and let Skwisgaar relax into it.

Toki draped the blanket over Skwisgaar's shoulder and he reflexively curled in on himself, settling in. His arms tucked against his chest, wrists crossing and hands loosely curled. Toki's head tilted slightly as he watched, scrutinizing as he would with the composition of one of his unfinished drawings. Something was missing.

As suddenly as the thought struck him, a solution spontaneously presented itself in a brilliant burst of inspiration. Toki straightened and hustled from the room, a man on a mission. He tiptoed through the door on his return several minutes later, finding Skwisgaar just as he left him. Prying slender fingers apart as gently as he was able, Toki tucked the stuffed animal into Skwisgaar's grip.

"Dis ams just a loan, okei?"

To his surprise and delight, Skwisgaar hugged Deady close beneath his chin. He nuzzled the soft fuzz on the bear's head and the corner of his mouth turned upward as he inhaled deeply. Toki couldn't help the wicked grin that split his own face.

"Oh dat ams too fuckin' much, you mister bleaks and dark alright."

Slipping his phone from his pocket, Toki snapped a photo and immediately launched his FaceFriends app. His thumb hovered over the post button, but glancing between the screen and the sleeping man in front of him, he felt his devious smile soften. It had been a long time since he'd seen Skwisgaar look so relaxed, so...young. A faint pull behind his sternum made itself known, a flutter from his own youth that he thought he'd tamped down and caged. He deleted the draft and locked his screen.

Tremulous fingers reached out, hesitating just shy of contact. Soft breath warmed Toki's fingertips as he outlined Skwisgaar's lips, tracing the dip of his cupid's bow. A yearning he hadn't experienced in years flooded his veins, bringing with it a familiar glow chased by a deep, lonely ache. He'd grown so accustomed to ignoring it, to knowing this powerful longing couldn't possibly be returned, that its sudden resurgence knocked the air from his lungs.

"Oh, wowee…" Toki exhaled shakily, withdrawing his hand. Skwisgaar's expression remained slack in slumber, completely unaware of the emotional wrestling match occurring mere inches from where he slept. "I, um. I'm gonna... I'll sees you tomorrow." Toki shuffled away, shutting the door quietly behind him and jogging to join the others before his absence was noted.

A belly full of alcohol proved no damper for his restless mind, and for hours Toki writhed under his blankets, unable to close his eyes without visions of a handsome, pale face sharing his pillow. The mattress seemed to dip at the center under a phantom weight joining him in the sheets, his imagination running away with his senses. Was he stupid for not immediately squashing this feeling again, for letting these thoughts linger and torment him? If there was truly any reason to even consider nurturing the flame, there would have been some sign after all these years.

He rolled onto his side staring at the empty space between himself and the wall. It really wasn't a wide enough bed to share, but maybe that would make it all the more intimate, his arms wrapped tight around a lean, lithe form rather than a stuffed toy.

With that image in mind, Toki grabbed his phone from the bedside table, squinting against the bright glow of the screen as he thumbed his way to his photos.

The tip of Skwisgaar's nose was invisible, hidden in the soft fur between Deady's ears, and his full lips curved in pure contentment. He'd told Toki once that he didn't like to sleep alone, but it was surprising to see him take such comfort from a worn out old toy that was probably in need of a wash.

Toki set the phone on the pillow next to his head and stared blearily at the picture. It wasn't enough to soothe the ache spreading behind his ribs, tender as if the hurt was new and not some long-buried thing excavated by accident like a cursed artifact from a pharaoh's tomb. Not nearly enough, but it would have to do.

He watched the screen until it finally dimmed to black, his eyes drifting closed in the dark. The cushion was cold as he hugged it close.

"Goodnights, Skwisgaar…"

It would have to do.

I LOVE Kelly so much but she was not into Debbie! I really love her with Carl and Debbie should not have tried to interfere! I will however say that I really really REALLY enjoy their friendship and I wish that that would have continued on. They had some really good moments together.

20/21. Eugene (Season 6) & Board Game Guy (Season 7)

Alright so these two don’t technically count because Frank tried to set Debbie up with Eugene so that she’d be written into his will. And the Board Game Guy was from a deleted scene as one of Debbie’s “life partners” from that flyer she made. So enough said.

18/19. Tyler (Season 6) & Erika (Season 6)

Again, Frank attempted to set Debbie up with Tyler and while that “potential relationship” wasn’t as bad as what happened between her and Erika, I am grouping them together because Debbie wasn’t technically into either of them and it was set up to fail right from the start.

17. Larry (Season 6)

The pregnancy fetish guy! I’m not quite sure what the intentions were for this character in the long run but it was a funny joke in the episode he was in. Even in the beginning Larry gave off red flags, but Debbie was happy... until the truth was revealed. Weird.

16. Jared (Season 11)

Another irrelevant love interest: the gay guy that cheated on his husband with Debbie after giving her cocaine. Obvious issues with this encounter/plot line aside, I did feel that their interactions at the bar were flirtatious and I didn’t hate him.

15. Calista (Season 11)

ANOTHER irrelevant character that was used and never brought back!!! I didn’t totally hate her either, she was upfront about her ex-girlfriend and that whole situation. She helped Debbie and didn’t take advantage of her but the second she came on screen; I’m sorry but I did not give a fuck. Her last episode built up a potential friend/relationship opportunity for Debbie and they just did nothing with it. Idfk what else to say, not a fan but I did appreciate Calista trying to take care of Debbie when she clearly was drinking too much.

14. Sandy (Season 10-11)

Oh boy, everyone’s favorite partner of Debbie’s... Yeah, Sandy is so low on this list not necessarily because I didn’t like her for Debbie, or that I have beef with Elise (b/c I love her as an actor sm). I personally just hate the sheer fact that this character EXISTS in the first place. I never understood the hype, but I know that people only like her because she’s a Milkovich ie. related to Mickey. That’s the hard truth this fandom isn’t willing to admit. My disliking Sandy should be a post of its own but lemme get into her relationship with Debbie.

You could tell that Emma and Elise liked working together so the chemistry was sorta there (definitely not soulmate shit tho). Each time that they interacted in s10 I was over it. S11 was better in the sense that whether I would like to admit it or not, they did have some “cute moments” (mainly just Sandy calling Debbie babe/babes). The second shit hit the fan in regards to Sandy’s history, I immediately understood Debbie’s issue with her and why her character would not want to be with Sandy. But, with that being said, Debbie was also in the wrong because she made everything about herself throughout the entire course of this relationship! Sandy did call her out, ex: “who was supposed to take Franny to school?”, and things like that were nice. HOWEVER I am sorry to say, this relationship felt like a massive waste of time and it felt like they were trying to force something that shouldn’t have existed to begin with. I don’t have the patience to even analyze this anymore, but maybe down the line because clearly there is SO MUCH to delve into!

13. Alex (Season 9)

Omg I did not like this relationship/plotline at all. Alex had issues but Debbie was so inconsiderate! I never saw the appeal here! It was nice that Alex had the decency to go and help Debs with Ford after the fact. I just feel “meh” about this tho. They had moments but ultimately I personally wasn’t into it and Debbie’s random newfound self discovery of “lesbianism”.

12. Kyle (Season 3)

Emma Kenney’s first kiss! Kyle was a one episode character that did have the potential to be more than that. I didn’t hate the kid as Debbie’s love interest, but there also wasn’t anything special about him. He was just kinda there and then he left. Debbie really seemed to like him though, spelling his name in her peas, etc.. I do like that one line about cigarettes that Kyle had but again he was such a short lived character and when he turned out not to be related to Kevin it became unnecessary to keep him around... even if the episode alluded to him returning. They were sorta cute!

11. Claudia (Season 10)

So I didn’t like this relationship much either but there was a certain kind of stability in the relationship that felt organic and nice. Partly because I enjoyed watching Constance Zimmer and she made Claudia likeable. Do I ship it? No. Was it a problematic dynamic? Yes. Was it a tolerable relationship? Eh. I didn’t hate it entirely though. Debbie, being a Gallagher, eventually fucked it up. And while I did like the drama, Debbie wasn’t REALLY into Claudia as much as she may have believed she was. So, it totally felt like a one off that would end with Claudia not returning... and it was. So there was no time for an investment of any kind.

10. Hedi (Season 11)

Gosh... Debbie’s endgame(?). Hedi was introduced too late for me to care enough about her (At this point it would have made sense for Debbie to wind up with Calista because at least she was already introduced!). I don’t necessarily like Hedi as a character and quite frankly it was a “who tf does SHE think she is” kinda deal for me. At first I was interested and didn’t hate her (and I don’t), but then she “thought she was Jimmy” and I instantly got annoyed (LOL I GUESS it was a nice nod to him tho... I guess).

My (several) problems with Hedi as a character aside, there IS something about Hedi being presented as this “dangerous badass” who is (somehow) WORSE than Debbie, that worked well. I’m not a fan of the ship, but it is an interesting dynamic in the sense that Debbie could potentially be “living on the edge”. I fear for what trouble this could cause Debbie BUT it’s like Frank referenced: Monica vibes. I don’t think it’s “true love” like Debbie said to Franny. A constant storyline for Debbie has been “why can’t anyone ever love me” and so she falls in quickly. Maybe Hedi will leave her but that’s the thing, “she’s done worse” so idk, either way I don’t think it’s meant to last! But I guess I don’t mind them being together! Karma’s a bitch! Will Carl tell her what Arthur found? Would it even make a difference?

9. Julia (Season 10)

I would have actually rather preferred her with Carl too! It was never love between Debbie and Julia, but the relationship did create good conflict for my viewing pleasure. UNPOPULAR OPINION, I didn’t mind Julia as a character at all. She was fine for me. I also enjoyed how ultimately SHE was only using Debbie in the end. Julia does admit later on that she was experiencing with her sexuality so maybe she did have feelings for Debbie at one point, which I thought was interesting. Debbie got herself into this one. At least Julia was more age appropriate than Claudia... (which is ironic since Debbie got in trouble for being with Julia when the age gap is MUCH bigger between Claudia and Debbie LOL I love it)! I also found Julia annoying Debbie to be amusing, that’s not to say that I liked her a lot either cuz I don’t!

8. Matty (Season 4-5)

Man do I feel bad for Matty! Debbie raped him and it was horrible. From the get-go when Matty was introduced the relationship was hella awkward!! And not only that but Debbie was a MINOR! Matty did do the right thing and said they couldn’t be together but a part of me will always feel strange that he WAS INITIALLY attracted to Debbie before learning her age. That to me is still wildly inappropriate. He shoulda cut it off. He did try to be her friend and took her to that dance which was cute but ahhh this was just a MESS all around. Cringe. At least he didn’t take advantage.

7. Henry (Season 4)

Speaking of Matty and that dance, Henry was supposed to take her. He asked her as a joke in order for Seama to inflict revenge on Debbie. If that weren’t the case however... DAMN THEY WERE CUTE! The potential that this relationship could have had! If only it wasn’t all an act! It was a “day worth of love” and sure that’s not enough for two people to REALLY be IT, yet there was something charming about their connection that I wish was real. Or idk maybe Henry could have reconnected with her later and apologized and it could have been revealed that he did actually like her... but that wasn’t the case. Fuck him!

6. Simon (Season 1-2)

Debbie was NOT interested in Simon at all but at the time he was almost like the male version of her. Their banter back and forth was fun to watch and he probably would have treated her well. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to even see their friendship progress. Their interactions were funny and he was a good guy!

5. Batiste (Season 10)

Y’all may not understand why this guy is so high on the list but a part of me wishes this character wasn’t a one off. Batiste is the dude Debbie tried to return her “unused” shoes to. If you can recall, he wanted a blowjob to take advantage of her. While this was a dick move (and the plot went nowhere) a part of me would have liked to see more! He did have an arc where he acted like an ass and realized that it is wrong to degrade women. I just think it could have been built upon and Emma may have had chemistry with this actor. There was something here that I didn’t hate and I felt it could have been expanded upon.

4. Little Hank (Season 2-3)

Debbie’s first real crush! It was interesting to see how he didn’t like her at first and then a “friendship/relationship” slowly started to develop after he gave her flowers. IT JUST NEVER CONTINUED! Little Hank was in no way the most upstanding, but it was cool to see Carl have a friend that Debbie crushed on (when she was little she wasn’t intentionally taking something away from Carl ie. Kelly, so I support it). Their interactions were fun to watch too! The fandom definitely has a soft spot for Little Hank! And at one point everyone was rooting for them to be together. Too bad we never discovered what ended up happening to this character!

3. Neil (Season 7-8)

The bathtub scene tho! Adorable! There was a short moment within this relationship that was super cute where the two of them really did seem to care about each other and may have both been in love. It goes without saying that Debbie was only using him, but they did have SOME potential and they found a common ground where they each benefited each other’s needs. Debbie once again was TOO controlling and self absorbed to make it work, but I don’t think she was entirely happy in a relationship with him. He deserved more respect!

2. Derek (Season 5-8)

Baby Daddy! I really did enjoy them together until Debbie took advance of him and Franny came into the picture, but at the same time that’s one of the reasons that Derek, as a character, has a deeper connection to Debbie and the audience. I always enjoyed their flirting back and forth and the relationship they had (the deleted scene with the card/push up game ahh my heart)! Debbie really did mess up due to her desperation to “belong to a family”, which is another one of her consistent character traits. She just went too far and tried to trap him. Then shit got messed up between their families. Derek did eventually ask for parcial custody and did have a desire to be a part of Franny’s life. Debbie said no and that plot line died until s10. Pepa!! Ahh! RIP to Derek, it was sad to me that he died. Definitely a character and relationship that I wish was incorporated more because I truly enjoyed them together.

1. Duran (Season 8)

Besties with benefits! Stop! Nobody talks about my guy Duran! Sure they both said that this relationship was of a sexual nature and that they were just a couple of friends but damn! The chemistry and dynamic was palpable! It is truly a shame that we didn’t get to see more of this friendship! They were on common ground and really did care about each other! I don’t know why but I really just LOVED them together! Duran was also in her friend group with Farhad and that was a group that seemed to have a positive impact on Debbie as a person. S8 Debbie was cool! These two complemented each other so nicely! Duran wasn’t by any means the best influence on her because he almost lead Debbie down a “Monica path” but come on, Hedi is worse in that department. He was getting his life together like Debbie was with her profession. Just think of the hair convos Duran and Tami could have had Lol. Idk, I just like Debbie with him a lot! It was healthy to an extent and he was supportive of Debs with Franny.

Pros and cons for Sword and Shield

Okay since I’m pretty much done with the main story now and have caught most of the Pokémon I think I can give some thoughts. SPOILERS AHOY.

Pros:

- The Pokémon. They are awesome. I honestly can’t think of one new Pokémon I outright dislike. There’s a few “meh”s in there sure, but overall they’re cute, cool and Cinderace. 

- I also gotta give some extra props to the Galar forms. There were a lot I weren’t even expecting and several of them even have alternate evolution (like Meowth and Yamask) or just new evolution altogether (like Farfetch’d and Corsola). 

- The storyline isn’t super-intrusive, demanding you to do this and that all the time before you can enter the next gym... typically if you’ve reached the gym you can just go challenge it right away. The storylines haven’t been great in general in older games and this one’s no different, so I prefer less focus. 

- You can actually catch Pokémon before you get the Pokedex. Its not right away, but you do get pokeballs from your mom after your first little excursion (even though she doesn’t tell you she’s given them to you so that’s a little weird). 

- The Wild Area...I barely know where to start with this... So much awesome!

- Once upon a time I had a wish for Pokémon that they’d release a game where you could actually see other players walking around in the overworld, kinda like an MMO. Never thought it’d happen though... but then it DID. 

- You can change a pokémon’s “nature” and even teach them egg-moves...so if you have a shiny you really want to use but its nature is shit and competitive battlers keep telling you it’s gotta have this and that move or you’re doing it wrong, well first of all tell them to shut their faces and play the game however you want, but then you can just go right ahead and give them a nature-changing candy, give them those egg moves and do some Hyper Training while you’re at it. Haven’t tried this system yet since it requires BP that I don’t have, but its there. 

- Raid battles. They’re pretty cool.

- Vitamins (like protein and carbos) can now be used more than 10 times on the same Pokémon. (Still costs a ton though...but so long as you buy the game before January you will get a pretty decent money-maker in Gigantamax Meowth.) 

- The music. It just keeps getting better I swear. I can’t stop listening to the Gym Theme. 

- I like how the Pokémon League works in this game. The gyms borrow some features from Sun and Moon by having you go through “Gym Tests”, that are basically various minigames like herding sheep or a weird pinball game. But at the end its still the same old Gym Leader Battle. The tournament is also treated more like an actual sports tournament in real life would work, all your battles (including the League itself) are done in front of an audience and you even get fans. There’s also no Elite Four anymore, instead there’s an actual tournament with your rivals and the Gym Leaders. 

- The starter that isn’t picked by you or your rival still gets a time to shine. 

- I’m not 100% sure on this but I feel like they’ve changed the gender ratio for Eevee and the Starters...cuz I got a female Scorbunny after only three tries and I caught a TON of female Eevees. (Bonus: You can also catch Eeveelutions in the wild area). 

- Speaking of Eevee they simplified its evolution. Specifically Leafeon and Glaceon, they now evolve with a Leaf Stone and Shiny Stone respectively. Sylveon also appears to evolve via friendship now so remember if you want an Umbreon or Espeon, delete its fairy moves. 

- Pokémon camps are adorable.

- The game isn’t bogged down with legendaries. In fact there’s only three. 

Cons:

- We gotta talk about the elephant in the room... 

No...not that one.  I’m talking about the lack of a national dex.  To me its not a deal-breaker, it still has 400 Pokémon in the Galar dex and there are apparently a few more that exist in the data (mostly previous starters and some legendaries) that can be transferred over from earlier generations, but... Fennekin isn’t available. That’s a shame. (Where did Leon get his Charizard from anyway...as far as I’ve seen you can’t catch Charmander in the wild...The player gets one as a gift from Leon if you were wondering.) 

- Haven’t found an IV judge yet. Could have just missed them though. If anyone knows where they are let me know.

- There’s no easy way to EV-train your Pokémon at least to my knowledge.

- When you’re in the Pokémon League you’re automatically healed between each battle. It may sound like a nitpick but part of the challenge of the League was always that you had to face each enemy WITHOUT healing...so it kinda takes away from the challenge. 

- You can only catch Pokémon up to a certain level. Again this wasn’t a big deal for me, as I usually don’t go looking for super-strong Pokémon anyway, but it felt a bit restrictive. So yes you could technically go challenge a level 30 Onix with your level 10 Sobble... but you’re not gonna be able to catch it no matter what you do.

- The Catch rate is too darn high. I don’t know what they did to it but it feels even harder to catch even the most common of Pokémon. (Despite the fact that I caught Zamazenta with the first Quick Ball.) 

- While it was nice that it didn’t focus too much on a grand storyline this time, it also meant the plot kinda just comes right out of nowhere at the end of the game, and suddenly you gotta fight a final boss you never knew existed. That’s a little awkward. 

- You gotta do WHAT to evolve Galarian Yamask?? 

- The animations in the cutscenes are a bit awkward at times... There’s a sequence where you watch Hop try to catch a Pokémon but he’s clearly not holding a Pokéball for example... you have animations where he’s throwing a ball Game Freak... 

- No more walking with Pokémon... 

- The Day and Night System is only active in the Wild Area. The rest of the game time changes based on where you are in the plot. 

- There’s no GTS. What the fuck. I know it was pretty broken already in the last gen what with people asking for a shiny Marshadow for a Rattata before Marshadow was even officially announced, but it was a pretty good way to get game-exclusives. Now I actually have to go out of my way to TALK to people to get them, and I can’t even do that in game. 

- SO yeah my next problem is that while you can SEE other trainers in the overworld there’s no way to communicate with them.. but that seems to be a problem with Nintendo in general. They are terrified of people communicating it seems... 

Despite all that though I like the game and have been playing almost non-stop the past weekend XD Heck this was the first time I just went ahead and bought both games on the release date.. and I don’t regret that decision. I played Shield normally and now I’m doing a Nuzlocke on Sword. (Case you were wondering how I’m treating the “catch only the first pokémon-rule” when you can see them, I close my eyes and run in circles till I encounter something.) I also don’t care about the trees. Pokémon models are more important than trees.

Shane has been recreated in Fallout 76, with decent success other than I had to fix her nose after the screenshot cuz it’s a lil’ uneven (and now the lighting’s all weird in-game due to time of day so meh... have a wonky nose pic. Here’s her intro post from Fallout 4 where she looks hella like Uma Thurman. Can’t complain. XD

Anyways, Fallout 4 on the left, Fallout 76 on the right. Same hair, face parts, and makeup, although I couldn’t remember what beginning Face preset I started with in Fallout 4. Shane is my OC invented for Riddick’s universe, and she’s his daughter. She’s since been used in a lot of different settings with similar or different backgrounds as per plot-usefulness.

Meanwhile Ana got deleted to make room for Shane because I just wasn’t feeling the character and I’d rather use someone from my more standard roster of OCs and whatnot. Will probably still shoot for the team medic concept though.

1. What kind of cloud is your favorite? (IE: Cumulonimbus, Cirrus, Stratus, etc…) I like cirrus clouds because they look wispy like cotton candy in early spinning phases.

2. What is the story behind your Tumblr avatar? It’s the avatar Corrine I was gonna use for my fourth playthrough of Fire Emblem Awakening, only to accidentally delete the save. Oops.

3. What is the first original story you ever made? Uhhh. I think wrote a Snow White parody? It’s the first thing I’ve ever completed, anyway.

4. Did you have any imaginary friends as a child? If so, who were they and what were their names? I don’t remember anything in specific. Probably a horse of some kind. I had a pony phase.

5. What is your favorite season and why? Autumn since that’s when my birthday is.

6. Do you have a favorite insect? What is it? I’d say a luna moth. They’re quite pretty, but I’ve never seen one in real life.

7. What is your favorite book or book series of all time? Hm. It’s sort of a tie between the Discworld books, The Dresden Files, and Deltora Quest, solely based on how many times I’ve reread the component books.

Is it weird that I’m excited for Mass Effect Andromeda….even though I’ve never played any of the Mass Effect games?

Or, is me thinking it’s weird the truly weird thing?

I haven’t played the ME games for the same reason I haven’t played DAO or DA2 in a very long while: PS4 player, and attempting to play DAO on PC a little while ago showed me that, other than Sims, I’m a console player through and through. I just didn’t enjoy Origins as I did playing it when I was on my PS3. And even the fact of that’s the only way I can play previous games wasn’t enough to make me power through my console>pc feelings.

It would’ve been great if I had had this thought of “let’s try Mass Effect!” back when my PS3 was still in the land of the living, but alas, one cannot go back in time. Dang.

And unfortunately, playstation hasn’t joined Xbox in the whole backwards compatibility for some games, ME included, thing. Dang again.

I’ve played DAI over and over again. I’m on my 23rd/24th Inquisitor (according to the save files, its 23, but Dragon Age Keep has me at 24, so I may have accidentally deleted an Inquisitor from the save files….oops. Here’s hoping if/when [it had better be *when*, Bioware] we have DA4, it’s like DAI where you import from the keep, and not dao->DA2 where it went via a save file. Or if DA4 has option for either way to import previous game).

And, mind you, that’s 23/24 *just* on PS4 (since late August/early September-ish 2015). Throw in all the PS3 game saves I lost in the “great PS3 meltdown of July 2015 which happened while I had let my ps plus subscription lapse so oh yay no online storage and therefore resetting PS3 to give it a, albeit short, life extension led to losing alllll my saves, and yes I know it’s been a year and a half but I’m still upset about it okay!”, the total bumps up to close to, if not over, 40.

I’m not bored with the game, since clearly I still enjoy it enough to keep on making new games, but it’s at the point where I’ve done all that can be done (barring some exceptions…of the Qunari alliance, and Cullen staying on lyrium indefinitely variety…..because NOPE. They were nope before Trespasser, and even bigger nope after hearing what happens in or after Trespasser if those choices had been made. Never have done them, and never will do them. Nope). I’ve romanced everyone at least once, played all the races, different personality types (though, not all. Even in a game I can’t be completely mean and ruthless, as my whopping 1 time playing a redHawke in DA2 showed me), Mages, Templars, different Divines, all that. It’s all revisiting it at this point.

Which, again, is still enjoyable. But now I’m wanting that feeling I had in the first few handful of playthroughs where everything was a new experience.

I’ve thought about getting into like Skyrim or something to have something “new” to play, but I’m on the fence. Given my history with video games (long story short….I know, too late….before DAI I felt like I ~couldn’t~ play any video game beyond Sims or fighting games. I’d try, have difficulty doing even simple things, get frustrated, give up, and convince myself I was just too stupid for Rpg/action/adventure/etc type video games. Playing DAI, and going back and playing Origins and DA2 pulled me out of that mentality), I’m just worried I’ll revert to that old thinking the second I get frustrated. Then again, dragon age has built up my video game confidence somewhat that maybe I wouldn’t…I don’t know. Skyrim remains a possibility for the future, I guess.

I know Mass Effect =\= Dragon Age, but meh, both are Bioware, and I keep hearing how Andromeda is going to have some similar things from Inquisition (like crafting! Yes! Oh how I’ve become a crafting addict. I feel like, other than parts it plays if doing Before The Dawn, the only reason I go to Emprise De Leon is for the plentiful tier 3 crafting items gathered or dropped by like Snowfleurs or Red Templars lol. Hell, most of the time I only play The Descent past the opening just to get the barrel with the dragon crafting stuff lol. I think I’ve played all of descent maybe 3 or 4 times, done half of it a few more…..and a lot of just getting to setting up camp so as to get the goods lol) and all that, so….yeah I’m excited for that. Replaying DAI….without replaying it lol.

I guess I’m overthinking and wondering, do I have the “right” to be excited and feeling like omg I have to get it day one.

I’ve had sort of similar thoughts about dragon age in the past. I got into it through Inquisition, and even that was months after it’d been out, then went back and played the previous two games about two months into dragon age obsession. I felt like I was tardy to the party, not to mention not having “earned my stripes” of like waiting and excitedly anticipating the next game in the serious gobbling up the slightest crumb of news.

Trespasser was the great equalizer, since then yeah I was right there freaking out over the trailer release right along with other folks, and now the speculating and waiting and GOD DAMNIT BIOWARE WHEN ARE YOU AT THE VERY LEAST GOING TO CONFIRM THERE WILL BE A DA4 has done the rest of the balancing out differences between newer fans and those who’ve been around for years. So, that’s lessened my feelings of “do I have a right to be excited/love it to this extent?” Because the answer is yes, yes I do.

It’s different with ME because, in not playing it, the excitement is without the proper context. It’s like when I was playing DAI before I went back and played the other two. “Oh okay Hero of Ferelden, Champion of Kirkwall, Alistair, Archdemon, Anders blowing up the chantry etc etc…..those are important things…..oh yeah totally know that…..cuz I read it on the wiki….ahem…..”

So when I read/hear people talking about Andromeda in possible similarities/differences/general comparison to the previous games, I’m just like “….yay?…..is that….is that good?” To myself. I’m more excited for it on the basis of “new game! New rpg! New Bioware game!” than others who are “new Mass Effect!!” excited.

Ah well, at least there’s being excited for Injustice 2 as well. Played and loved first Injustice, so my feelings of “oooomg that trailer why isn’t it may yet!” has a lot less “yeah, but have I ~earned~ the right to be excited?” mixed in it.

My only “hmm, I may have messed up” feelings there are from chastising myself for not sticking with the Injustice comics and only reading the first 2-3 ‘years’ of it, lol.
