Hello Xisuma I honestly don’t know how to start this, but since I expect you to throw this away as soon as you see this, I don’t suppose I have to think about it that much. So… I don’t know if you noticed, you probably didn’t, but I’m no longer in the Void. Please, don’t stress yourself over this. I have no intention in bringing more trouble to you. I have found a way to trouble you no more. I’ve made a deal with Lady Death herself. She agreed to take my life, and give what remained to you. I know it’s not much. CALL OF THE RAVEN

PART 6

The day i got released form hospital finaly came. I was happy about it, taking a breath of fresh air will be a welcoming change after over three weeks in here. Some bruises wer still visable, and my head hurted from time to time, but other then that the doctor gave me a green light. And having too much free time makes your toughts wonder in wrong direction too much. Thinking about Jake was my daily routine, and i hoped once i get out other things will get me occupied. Jessy wanted me to stay with her, but i managed to persuade her that i'd be better of at the motel. She reluclantly agreed, but I argued that i would still be resting most of the time, and promised her we will see eachother every day, wich made her respect my decision a bit more. She called me that moring, telling Dan will come and drive me to the motel, because she was bussy planing a surprise for me. „Oh, Jessy, pleas dont go overboard, it is my first day out, i wont be up for much.“ I protested, but she quickly reasured me its nothing big. Knowing Jessy, i was sceptical about it, but she sounded so happy that i just agreed to whatever she had in plan. I was about done packing, when Doris came bringing me my dischrage papers. She gave them to me, embracing me in a tight hug „You be good now, hun. And remember what i told you before.“ She said, giving me one more of her winks. „Thank you, Doris.“ I replied, handig her a chocholate bombonier i asked Jessy to get me. „For everything.“ I hugged her once more. „No need to thank me, hun.“  „Ahh, Doris, im jelaous, i didnt get a hug from you when i was leaving the hospital.“ It was Dan, being dramatic again. I laughed, as Doris went for the door „Schmacks dont deserve hugs!“ she grinned at him, and left. „She likes me...she just wont admit it.“ Dan said, grining. „So,you ready to leave this shithole?“ „Definatly!“ i said, taking my discharge papers and putting them in my pack. Dan took it from me, and we left the room, taking the elevator down. Stepping outside was so refreshing, i stopped at the exit for a brief moment, wich made Dan turn „You allrigh there?“ „Im good, just appriciate being outside again.“ I smiled. We continued to the car. Dan opened the door for me, putted my stuff on the back seat, and we drove towards motel. I rolled the window down letting the cool morning air blow to my face and through my hair. The drive wouldnt last that long, and Dan informed me that Jessy booked the room for me already and took the rest of my stuff there, and my car also waiting for me at the motels parking. „Dan, whats Jessy planing for me today?“ i asked. „Oh, no,no, im keeping my mouth shut!“ he replied, but i groaned at him pleading „Please, Dan, at least give me a hint. I just got out of hospital, and to be honest, im not up for big fanfaras, but i dont want to dissapoint Jessy either. And lets be honest, its Jessy wer talking about here, nothing is small or meaningless with her.“ He laughed at that „Your right about that! Alright, ill tell you, but if she realize you knew something..“ „Dont worry, i can act being genuinely surprised with no problem.“ I asured him. „Well, its nothing much, rellay. We're taking you for dinner.“ he said. Ok, thats not so bad, i tought, i do have to eat. „And she invited the gang to Aurora this evening, to celebrate your release from hospital.“ Ugh, i hoped that wouldnt happen so soon, that i would at least have a day or so for me before seeing everyone. „Ah, crap, i guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.“ I said, adding „Later would be better, tho.“ „Dont worry, Maya, ill be there to rescue you, AGAIN.“ He grinned at me, and i grinned back „Good, because i just might need some rescuing, again.“

Dan left me at the motel, and i entered the small checkin office. The woman behind the counter was eldery, and she smiled at me „Good morning, miss, what can i do for you?“. „Morning'“ i replied, smiling back „I had a room booked for me by a friend, i guess you know her, Jessica Hawkins?“. She smiled more now „Ah, ofcourse, miss Cole i presume?“ i nooded in agreement. „Yes, Jessica brought all your belongings already. I would just ask for you to fill this, please.“ She handed me that check in paper you get at every motel. I filled it, and she gave me the key.“You're at room 11, its on your right once you leave the office. And i'm Ms. Walter, fell free to ask if you need anything.“ „Thanks, i will.“ I replied, taking the key.

The room looked cozy enough. It had a big bed, with a little nightstand next to it with a lamp on it. There was a midium size table in front of a big window, wich i immidiatly felt greatefull for, since some natural light is what i prefere for my drawing work, and a closet next to it. Across from the bed was a  TV, and a little refrigeratore under it. The bathroom was small, wich is more then enough. I left my stuff on the bed, when i noticed a note on the nightstand. 'The car key is in the nightstand drawer. Get some rest, and see you later! Xoxo' It was from Jessy, and that made me smile. I took the key and went to the car to get the rest of my stuff. The day was nice and sunny, and i tought i souldnt spend the whole day in the motel. I went back to the room, unpacked, grabed some clean clothes and went for a shower. When i got dressed i sat at te table and turned my laptop on. I checked my mails, and some job offers. Its good when you're a freelancer, you can work from anywhere, and I actually felt some work might keep me occupied and not let my mind wonder to Jake.  The tought of him leaving my hospital room  two weeks ago still pained me, but i cant sit here and despair all the time, so i decided to grab my drawing stuff and head exploring. I hoped Jessy wouldt mind me going to town alone, she did promise me a grand tour of it once im out of the hospital. I took my phone and texted her „Hey hey, setteled at the motel. Going for a walk arround, but dont worry, im still looking forward for my tour arround Duskwood with you! xoxo“. She replied soon „Oh, nice, have fun! Just stay out of woods! xD See you for dinner J „. Great, now i could leave without feeling any guilt. I grabbed my backpack and left the motel.

I decidet to walk towards the marketplace, i had plenty of time since it wasnt even noon yet, and Jessy and Dan wont pick me up before 19. I passed a small bakery on my way there, and bought me some food and a bottle of water. The streets leading towards marketplace wer small and narrow, mostly with older buildings and pretty quiet. After some 30-40 minutes of slow walk,  i emerged to the marketplace, and it was comepletly different. The crowd thickened, and the place hummed with life. In the center was a nice funtain, with benches in circle arround it. Few wer occupied with people: one had an eldery couple, just sitting there on the sun and talking, on the other wer two mothers, drinking coffee while kids wer running arround, giggling and enjoying a nice day. I sat on one of the free benches, and took my drawing pad out. The warmth of the sun felt nice, and i began drawing. I can get quite zoomed out of my surroundings when drawing, so when i finaly noticed someone was standing in front of me, i jumped, and my penciles flew all over the floor. I started to stan up from the bench, at the same time that someone started to bend down to help pick them up,our heads coliding. That sent me sitting back on the banch, as both of us groaned from the impact. „Auch.“ I flinched, looking at the person stnding there. It was Jake. „Sorry, i didnt mean to sneak up on you.“ he said, still rubbing his forehead. „No, no, its fine, i was really focused, i didnt see you there.“ I barely managed to say, my voice shakey, clumsely picking my penciles from the floor.He was the last person i expected to run into. I really wasnt ready for this, the knot in my stomach starting to form, as i finaly collected all the penciles and sat back on the bench. I knew we wer gonna run at each other eventualy, but not so soon. He sat next to me, and i could notice by his body language he was a bit nervouse, too. „You look better.“ he said after a moment of silence, giving me a small smile, wich made my heart skip from joy. „Thanks, i feel much better,too.“ I replied, smiling back. He was looking at me so tenderly, and the heat from the sun made me so hot, i had a feeling my cheeks wer red as a lobster. He run his hand through his hair, and all i could think is how much i wanna do that. His look became more serious now, his eyes becoming darker, but that tenderness was still present. „Maya..“ he started „That day at the hospital.. I didnt..I'm sorry..“ but i interupted him. „No need to appologise, Jake, really.“ And he really didnt have to. I continued, before he could say anything else. „Look, its like this: you had every right to act like you did, and even tho it wasnt easy for me to hear you say those stuff, you wer right, in a way.“ He looked me a bit confused. „You wer probably right, I didnt think quite hard about every possible thing that could go wrong, and God knows i had more luck then im willing to admit. But thats just who i am: i act, i go with the flow, i make mistakes. And i appologise when I realize I was wrong, wich I would do to you if you just stayed for a while more. And i mean appologise for not telling you, or anyone about my plan, not for what i did at the end, hence me saying that you wer right in a way.“ I looked at him, he was still calm, not a trace of that anger i saw at the hospital anywhere on his face. That made me relax a bit. „Maya, just let me...“ he started again, but i interputed him once more „Please, Jake, just let me finish, then you can say whatever you wnat.“ He nodded in agreement. „ I know saying 'sorry' at that time seemed so pointless, but you have to know that i really am sorry, Jake, a thousand times sorry. Yet, i still stand by what i said, i would do it all over again, no matter the qonsequences.“ I paused for a moment, before i continued „I really hope you can forgive me. I got so used at having you in my life, and for it to end here and now...“ He looked at me, but i couldnt bring myself to look back at him. I just stared at my hands, not realizing this whole time i was clasping them so tightly. „I hope you wont shut me out of your life comepletly.“ We sat there in silence for what seemed like eternity. I got my courage and looked at him. He was staring in the distance now. „I felt helpless.“ he said, looking back at me now. „It got me...scared.“ he confessed, and i ached to just hug him. I could see this was being hard for him, saying it. „I've had that happen once before in my life, and it didnt end well.“ His eyes became so sad. „I'm not sure im ready to go through it again.“ That knot at my stomach tightened as he said it, but i took a deep breath „I understand. I'v let you down, i know. But i hope with time, you will be able to trust me again..let me be your friend, at least.“ Friend...that word felt so wrong to me. I didnt want to be just his 'friend', i wanted to be more, so much more. But, i guess at the moment i would be happy with anything. He stared at me for a moment, and before he said it, a smile formed at the corner of his lips „One step at the time.“ „Thats all im asking.“ I said, smiling shyly. He sat there in silence for a brief moment before slowely getting up. „You're good, by the way.“ He said, and i looked at him puzzeled, wich made him smile. He had such a sincere and wonderfull smile. „Your drawing, its good.“ He continued, pointing at my drawing pad. „Oh, that, thanks!“ i replied. „I better be good, i doubt i'll get paid otherwise .“ i grinned. He shook his head at me smiling, walking slowely away from the bench „See you arround, Maya.“ „See you, Jake.“ Watching him walk away this time didnt leave me in pain and agony. I felt hope again. Maybe Doris and Jessy weren't talking nonsence, afterall, I tought, not realising i was grinning like crazy.

After Jake left, i just sat there, letting my heart stop beating insanely. I was really happy for how our unexpected meeting went, i tought there really was some hope for us again. Oh man, Jessy will go crazy when i tell her all about it, she will so rub me her ' i told you so's' in the face! That got me laughing out loud, a few passerbys looking at me like i was crazy. And they wer right, i was crazy! Crazy for Jake. Everything about him drow me crazy: his gorgeous eyes, that ruffeled hair, and that beautifull smile. He shoud definatly smile more, i tought, his whole face smiles when he does it. The churchbell chimmed five , and i cursed under my breath. I better head back to the motel, i need another shower for sure. I quickly grabbed my stuff from the bench, deciding to grab coffee before headiding back. My toughts wer still running wild about Jake as i was walking back towards motel, i colided with a man. I almost dropped my coffe, quickly appologizing. „Be carefull there, miss, you never know who you might bump into.“  He said, a bit grim, like he was makeing a threath. I looked at him a bit astonished „Uhm, i will mister, thanks for your advice. And, sorry again!“ I slowly turned and continued my way. Strange guy i tought, but didnt pay any more toughts about it continuing back to the motel.

Interview with developer of Lobotomy corporation

1.Hello, i'm the Blinkraven, from russian translation team (Tales&Stories Team) , you can call me Blink or Roman. What is your name and what your role one Project moon company?

Hello, I am Kim Ji-hoon, who is the director of ProjectMoon.

2.Can you tell a bit about the company? How did you all gathered and found the company? What is your main goal in foundation Project moon game studio?

At first, I gathered friends from university game production clubs and formed a team. I started with four people, but I felt the shortage of art and programming through the project (LobotomyCorp). So I took part in university events, festivals, and various other places to gather other members. Lobotomy Corporation was finally developed with 10 people.

I always want to make a work with the theme of "human hymn(人間 讚歌)". As the light shines most strongly in the darkness, I think that human beings shine in despair. The goal of the ProjectMoon is to make the content of the subculture series continuously. I want to try various contents such as comics, novels, animations as well as games one day.

3.What inspired you to create Lobotomy corp. ? Did you already have experience in making games on Unity or is it your debut?

Lobotomy Corporation was inspired by SCP Foundation, Cabin in the woods, Warehouse13, and many other institutions that deal with monsters and supernatural tools. Originally, When I saw the works mentioned above, I wanted to play a game of monster management, however, there isn't the game like that so I made it.

There have been many attempts to make games, but Lobotomy Corporation is the first finished game.

4.What do you think is the main key feature of the game? What should the game reveal with it stoyline and gameplay?

I think managing monsters and suppressing them are the most important features of game play. In the story, we paid attention to the wounds that each character had and the process of accepting them.

5.As we know, as basis for the plot of storyline contents were taken many elements of relegions and mythologies and others. Why Kaballah in the first place?

As mentioned earlier, it was clearest to convey the theme of human hymn through Kabbalah. I wanted to show through Kabbalah that a human being follows the path to becoming fully self. Likewise, we wanted to show the limits of seeing the world only through the perspective of Kabbalah.

6.Contrary to the established stereotype that almost all Korean games are focused on the grind component, there is also a thoughtful game world in your game, details of which are revealed when communicating with the sephiras, who are responsible for departaments. The question is: how often did the storyline changes during development? How much cardinally? I still remember those days of  Beta-version, when Angela was an old AI-computer that uses perforated tape.

From the very beginning to the beta version, and until now, the topic of the story has not changed. However, 'Sephira' characters were added in the process of storytelling. When I wanted to communicate the story, I felt the limitations of the dialogue between the player and Angela. So I decided to make many changes in the summer of 2017.

7.Where did the ideas for the abnormalities come from? Did many of them personify human sins, is it really so?

It is hard to say that Abnormalities come from a variety of materials and are specific to one thing. Memes, original sin, urban legend, fairy tales, legends, and social phenomena. However, they have a common interpretation to match the story of the game.

8.The game has a hidden mechanics, forcing the player to "accidentally" re-play the game again and again, to uncover all the story plot twists, to study all the abnormalities. How much in your opinion the game is replayable?

If the players have seen all of the stories and unlocked Abnormalities' information, I think they really enjoyed all the content of the game. And I was intending to make the player try multiple retries in this process. Because the company turned into a mess through the Abnormalities and watching the situation was also intended to be a fun factor, I wanted to make the watching the situation in the retry of the game was also worth.

9.Approximately in July 2017, you decidet to radically change both the UI and gameplay in general. What was the reason for this? What did not suit in so-called [Legacy]-version of the game? Although the storyline also moved from "dead end", sephiras (visually they weve very interesting), the entire visual part of the game changed at all. And then closer to november, you changed again the visual part, making the game to look like as it is now. Was it hard to make that decisions?

The biggest reason for the change was 'it was not fun and it did not fit the intention'. This was a difficult decision for us, but the decision we had to do at the same time. I thought the pre-change game was just mimicking the western art style and indie game style. I thought I have to change the game style to what I can best create and the style that I like, in order to make a game that is sustainable in the future. So I decided to change everything. The process of changing was very painful, but after the change everything became clear how to build and develop the story.

10.Oh, and earlier in [Legacy]-version of the game, for normally walkthrough it was required to monitor a lot of parameters and key features, but during development, some functions were removed, some - simplified. Was this done because of fan complaints, or did you find these systems reduntant and uncomfortable for the game?

The values, genders and final observations of the Abnormality that were in the "legacy version" have been removed. Employee values and gender were changed to construct gameplay more clearly. The final observation of the Abnormality is something that has been removed due to the difficulties of realistic development. It was difficult to develop the final observation while adding various stories and scripts of Sephira through the changes, due to time and financial problems. I am sorry for this part too.

11.As I remember, earlier you had financial problems during game development. How did you manage to raise money for development? Did you have to lose something, or try to economize on something for the sake of further development?

We have not overcome financial problems using special methods. Thanks to the translation teams in Russia, China and Japan, we were able to make more sales in different countries, and as a result, we only got enough money to keep the team for a while. And now, after the development of LobotomyCorproation, only 4 team members are staying and developing. Other team members are seeking another job or going back to school. Although the size and speed of development can be reduced, I think we can keep the team longer.

12.Have you thought at the stage of development - of choosing a platform to make the game cross-platform of just PC-exclusive? For now it's very popular to make games on mobile devices, and your game with small edits of the interface could go well on mobile devices.

I focused on PC from the beginning. And Lobotomy Corporation is not going to switch to other platforms. Because the UX of the game is focused solely on PC, I thought that there would be a lot of changes if we were going to change to another platform. But the following work will consider expanding to other platforms, including PCs.

13.From the point of view of the Korean game developer, is there a great competition among your collegues in the game development industry of indie gaming? How populat are indie-games in Korea, that oriented on single player play?

There are also many indie game developers in Korea. Most of them are mobile-based indie games. So I did not see any other team in terms of competition. Compared to the indie game sector, Korea has a small sector of single-player games.

14.How, from the professional point of view, do you think that the opinion that in Korea games play only in online games is not exaggerated?

Korea is focused on mobile games and online games. But I do not think this is unconditionally bad. Because there are a lot of players in the world such as a person who loves a single game, a person who likes online games, and a person who likes mobile games. So I think it has its own meaning.

15.Has the game paid off since getting into Early access on Steam, and until now? What was your mood when you learned that the game was so popular in the world (well, and in particular in Russia)?

As a creator, there will be no greater joy. It is hard to find the driving force that makes our work world fun in many countries and expects what will happen. I want to create interesting stories and games that only we can show in the future!

Let's talk about future plans:

1.Since the release of version 1.0 (and the came out from Early Access), many players have already been able to find all the storyline endings that are hidden in the game. What do you expect the expected percentages of finding endings to be?

I think 80% of the players who have cleared up to Day50 have seen a hidden ending. If the player went to Day 50, wouldn't they want to fill in 100% of the encyclopedia?

2.In the so-called "true ending" or 100% of the Seed of light, Angela takes the complex under her control and came out from the facility to the surface for herself. Do you already have storyline sheets for the sequel and will somehow "bad" endings influence or somehow be mentioned in the sequel?

Yes. The ending of Lobotomy Corporation has had a big impact on the world, and the results will be shown in the sequel.

3.By your calculations, how much time will it take to develop a sequel, so that at least the first pl15.Has the game paid off since getting into Early access on Steam, and until now? What was your mood when you learned that the game was so popular in the world (well, and in particular in Russia)?

The development period is one year and six months until early release. We plan to spend about six months in the Eary Access period. But it always didn't go as planned. ;) I do not know if we will release the demo version, but I think I could show the gameplay within a year.

4.As for now are popular tactical turn-based games in various variations, whether it will affect the sequel or its gameplay will be like the first part - in real time with an active pause?

I'm not going to make a turn-based game as much as possible. I want to create a game that is played in as real-time as possible.

5.As I know, you monitor the appearance of content on your game on the Internet. Do you know about different memes, video parodies, etc.? What do you think about it?

Yes. We monitor videos, pictures, streaming, etc. uploaded by various fans. We are gaining great strength through the watching of enjoying the gameplay and delicate creation. In addition, problems with bugs and balances are also monitored through monitoring the world community.

6.Well, finally, your opinion about indie-game industry as a whole? What is the future of indie-games in game-development?

I think indie games are something that is unique and interesting. There are so many indie games coming out every day. What I think will become more important in the future is the unique universe of the work itself. Each game, even if it is individually, can survive in a number of indie games if it happens in a gigantic connected world. But most importantly, it has to be an attractive world, and the game must be fun.

An ill elderly disabled woman becomes among the latest victims of the police (and so called "healthcare"):

I was supposed to choose what ever i like from their amazing store and here is what i choose.

I ( and i’m sure you too) noticed many instgramers share this whitening kit on their videos. looks so simple and easy so i thought why not to try it myself. As you can see on the official product page the price is just around 10$ what is much  lower than many other brands. Usually lower price points to not so good qulity but since thit is not nessesarity i decidet to try it on.

I got my package round 3 weeks since ordering and it was without any complications. Kit was carefully packed and here is how it looked like:

6 packages of whitening gel in “injection’”form. it has protective plastic tip on the top, very easy to manipulate, contains lots of gel considering you need just few drops for each use. i was bit worriet 6 pcks won’t be enough but i’ve been usin it for over a week now and i haven’t finished one full pck. detail photos:

another part was one laser light. simple one on and off butto, blue led light small good to hold in hand, two batteries- between is thin foil so make sure to get it off for it to work. details:

what you need to do is get 2 cups of water- one warm and one cold.:

i put it in for a few second into the warm wather till i feel change in structure (it softened) i waited a bit not to put it so hot on my teeth. i put it on and suck out all the air, gently pressed on my mouth for my teeth to press their shape into plastic, i left it on for few seconds then took it off and put it quickly into cold water. i repeated the same steps on second tray in same steps.:

this is how it looked like- you can clearly see the shape of my teeths but still the top part was going over my gums what is quite unnecessary as there is nothing to whiten on gums so you can cut it down to just you teeth line. like this:

i know it sounds a bit complicated but it was quite fun to work on it like this.

another difference from usual brands are the amount of gel people use. in popular videos they put long line throught whole mouth tray but here as you can see individual shape of each of your tooth in plastic form, you need to put just a drop of a gel on each teeth. like this:

and put it on-  make sure you remember which tray is for top and which for bottom teeth. :

now it’s optional if you want to use the light or not. whitening gel has effect on its own but if you use the light it gets white quicker. but c’mon of course i want to use the light cuz it looks so so  great. because of the holders you can’t put it directly on both of trays at once but you can put it on top and botton individually.:

recommendations says you should put it on 20 min or longer. i leave it on for 20min at first and then with each use longer. 

uncomfortable part is how much you wil salivate during the use. kind of awkward i had to whipe myself of with tisue :D . removal is simple, but you will feel bits of gel on your teeth so you need to rinse with wather a few times, gel doesn’t have bad taste you can feel gelly substance and bit cold feeling on. 

just after first use i could see whitened effect but i felt like it disapear after few moments:

but again this was after my first use. i put it on every day since but after like 5th use my teeth got very sensitive and i had to stop for few days. i’ll try it on in few days and update you on the effect. i don’t know if this sensitivity is common in this product or it’s just coincidence. i’ll try it again and see the results again.

But in general it’s fun. it works but it doesn’t do miricals so don’t have such high expectations. whitened 2 shdes lighter on shade scale included in pckage. and tor that low price it’s great result. i would recommend it though, you need to try it on yourself to see. it feels so fancy to use :)

Also the tubes for the air are IN the suit not outside. The colour of the suit has a leather brown colour, that already looks it’s already old.

The leather has cracks (there are only on the surface, water dosen’t get in), also some pices of the suit look faded or cheap repaired. The gloves are made too out of leather, the  colour goes more to red whine red instead of brown. Both boots are trough and trough covered in stainless metal (at least 4 cm / 1,6 inces thick).

Like the suit too the boots also appear old, there are some scratches in them or also salt from dried out water. The Belt he wears is made out too of leather but has magnets atached on the underside so it holds on the suit. (There are some metal bits also integrated into the suit, so the Belt holds) The holsters and the beltcontaiers are made out of metal too. Both oxygen tancs on his back are medium sized (going till the end of his back) and are cream-coloured   Character:

The person in the diver suit is a pretty calm person but also pretty much curious and also wants to learn a lot Unfortunatly Gearoli suffers from memory loss. Whilst he remember some things, by others he is completely hopeless So he asks questions whenever he can (unfortunatly to the nerves of others).

He talks most of the time in a neutral and normal tune and also emotionless Gearoli does himself hart to decide if something is now “good” or “bad” and mostly asks for a second opinion. Mostly he believes what others are tellng him and therefore is pretty gulible But with time that changes… Likes: plant live (he perfer that one underwater), diving, the sea, The pirates of the Setting Dawn, porridge(?), oil Dislikes: salt, leaks (in ships and his diving suit), lack of water (But he can live with it), dirt and mud (especially if it affcts his visors), Violence agains the Crew, Oil that leaks into water Habits: Collects jetseam (Dosen’t care if it’s just a branch or an nice sea shell), tendents to eat alone

(He claims to eat, so that noone is worried about him, since he dosen’t feel hunger and he isn’t aware to be a robot..at first) Strengh: physical strong, Loyal, helpful (he tries as good as he can) Weakpoints: heavy, can’t swim (goes down like a rock due of being to heavy), needs time and explanation to understsand some orders, salt and salt water (if it come into his suit) Backgroundstory: Gearoli aka Diver Class Unit Nr.23 was built at least ten years ago from a simple company that experimented in building advanced robots for the employment market. Mostly jobs that where dangerous. The robots are supposed to do their jobs and to learn, to be more efficent The Diver Class was supposed to work on and in the near of water. On ships or for the navy for example. Gearoli was assignet to work on an oil rag. Mostly repair duty and helping in building underwater pipelines.

One one day the crew of the oil rag found a chest with some kind of acient device. They decidet that instead of giving it to an museum they could sell it pretty expensive and become rich. Unfortunatly they never come to fulfill their wish Somone got aware of that acient artifact and after the oil Rig employee refused to give it the Person that wanted it (For them the offer of money the person made was to low) The whole oil platform burned down. Whilst it didn’t affect much of Gearois personality, his job position changed. He became a member of the mysterious person, helping in tracking down another artifact on a big ship. But once again, people refused to give away voluntary. And in the eyes of his “employer” they had to pay for that. Once again fire played a role, death too.

Simply following orders as a robot. In an attempt in getting the artifact on his hands, somone damaged Gearolis head. Not only making a dent into his helmet but also damaging his Memory storage. Before the memory storage shut down, and with that Gearoli, he fell down the ship and managed it to get a hold onto another ship that was passing by the great and big burning vessel. Due of the harddrive being damaged the BIOS decidet to use the blank Backup Hard drive in the Helmet. De Facto the old memorys of couldn’t be used anymore and so he wouldn’t remember them When Gearoli woke up, only remembering his name and the Standard things (walking, talking etc.) he was greeted by the pirate crew that formely proudly had a submarine called the Setting Dawn. ~~~

Hey there! I apologize if this feedback isn’t great - I’m recovering from a migraine, so my reading comprehension isn’t at its best, and I generally know more about character design than I do about more general character creation. I still hope I can say something helpful, though!

I’ll start by saying that I’m really fond of him having such a creepy appearance at the same time as having a relatively sweet personality? It’s important for a character’s design to tell the viewer (or in this case, reader) about the character, but it’s also fun when that gets inverted! It also opens up the possibility to the reader that he might not be as cute or harmless as he seems, if that was intentional in terms of foreshadowing.

That said! I find his personality does come off as a little shallow... He seems like a very passive fellow, and I’m not sure if it’s just due to a lack of development (or my own lack of understanding), but not everything seems to mesh together perfectly. You say he’s curious, but at the same time will follow any directions given, as long as he understands them. Do these parts of his personality ever come in conflict with each other? If he was forced to choose between following orders or exploring something that he’s curious about, which would he choose? How easy or difficult would that decision be? Would he have to do the latter within the limits of the former?

I also noticed that he doesn’t seem to have any goals, or anything that drives him other than the wills of other characters, which is probably going to end up being a problem for a written character. Or at least for keeping readers interested in him, assuming he’s a major character. I imagine that’s just because this is being written about how he is before any character development occurs during the story you want to write with him in it, but it’s something to keep in mind for when you do get to writing that story! Understanding what drives him and how he thinks will make him much easier to write, since you’ll have a better understanding of how he’ll respond to different situations and stimuli.

What strikes me the most about all this, I think, is that it doesn’t really feel rooted in the Archie Sonic universe? I mean, I guess that’s the nature of having a character that spends most of his time out on the open ocean, but there isn’t really anything that ties him to the setting. He could be from any world with an ocean and commercial robots! It would be an easy problem to fix, I think. Something as simple as having him run on Rings or a chaos drive would be enough, really.

Some other things I’m curious about/development questions that might be worth answering:

Where did his name come from? Did he choose it for himself after having lost his memory? If he and his shipmates don’t know that he’s a robot, why does it have the word “gear” in it? (especially as names in Sonic’s world tend to carry a lot of meaning)

He’s a calm/neutral person, but is he capable of strong emotions? If so, what sort of thing would make him experience them?

Does he care about retrieving his memories/knowing where he came from, or are his questions only to help him understand in the present? Is he curious about the fact that OTHER people have memories?

Would the people who made/sold him notice that he’d disappeared? How much is he worth, as a product (by extension, would he be in danger of being sold if his crewmates found out about what he was)?

Why are his internal components sensitive to the water if he was (presumably) built to work underwater? Why not make the whole thing as waterproof as possible, instead of making a vulnerable robot and putting it in a relatively normal diving suit?

I'm really hoping this doesn’t come off as harsh, I’m really not meaning it to at all omg. I do genuinely like him a lot! He’s an interesting guy, and I’m curious to learn more about him. Which is why I have all these questions, heh!

But as of right now, he doesn’t really feel complete? It doesn’t feel like you know exactly who he is, yet!
