Daisuga WIP (Thursday) Wednesday
So, I decided at to start doing WIP Wednesday. I'm actively working on a long fic that won't be posted for... forever, and it might help me stay motivated if I can post little bits here and there? Anyway, I decided that at, like, 1 AM Pacific Time last night, so... very late. Which is why I'm posting this today. This is actually a part that I've scrapped from the larger fic, but I like it well enough to want to maybe do something else with.
For context, this is after the Interhigh Tournament, which was in June. Since Suga's birthday is also in June, I decided to combine the two. And since it's in Suga's POV, I use Koushi? I honestly don't know how he'd refer to himself in his head;;;; I also juggled the timeline and events of the day after Interhigh around a little bit, which is partially why I scrapped this.

Suga
It should have been a day like any other. Just a Wednesday. There were many like it before and there would be many like it after. But this particular Wednesday was maybe a little different. This one was… well, it was a mixed fucking bag so far.
“I can’t even be happy on my birthday,” Koushi groused aloud. He picked halfheartedly at his packed bento, but even though his mom had made sure it was full of his favorite things, he just didn’t have much of an appetite today. “Thanks, Seijoh, just what I wanted. A big fat L for my birthday.”
Asahi took a sip of his juice. His giant paw of a hand dwarfed the box, making it look like a prop from a kid’s toy kitchen set. He gave a solemn nod in agreement, the picture of serious contemplation with the straw of a baby juice box still stuck in his mouth. Koushi couldn’t hold the giggle that bubbled up despite the dour mood.
“What?” Asahi asked, snapping into attention in a mild panic, “Something on my face?”
“You’re adorable,” Koushi answered, grinning and reaching over to pat his head, “You just make sure you finish your juice box like a good boy, ‘kay?”
Asahi didn’t miss that he was being teased. “Oh, ha ha,” he grumbled, running his empty hand over his hair to make sure none of it had escaped the tie holding it back, “You’re never too old for a juice box… and anyway, you’re the old man here, not me.”
“By, like, 6 months,” Koushi returned, but his attention had strayed away from his friend. His eyes scanned the courtyard, seeking. Koushi sucked his teeth in frustration - he hadn’t found his target. Again. “Are you sure…” he began.
“I’m sure,” Asahi cut in, doing a decent job of masking exasperation, but Koushi caught it all the same. The exasperation was well-deserved, though, so he let it slide. It wasn’t that Asahi predicted what he was going to say because he was psychic… he’d just been asked the question already. Twice in the course of 20 minutes. “I saw him this morning, but not since.”
“Lunch is halfway over,” Koushi said, pushing a piece of fried chicken around. “We could at least eat lunch together for my birthday… Do you think he forgot?”
Asahi raised his head, face inscrutable for a few seconds. Most of the time, the guy was an open book, he had all the guile of a puppy… but every now and then he had these moments. Moments where Koushi felt like Asahi knew something and was holding back.
“No,” he said, taking the last, loud draw of juice from the container before setting it down neatly on the table in front of him, “He wouldn’t forget. Something must have held him up… maybe a teacher grabbed him.”
“You think?”
“Maybe?” Asahi said with a shrug that was somehow sympathetic rather than dismissive, “We could go look for him.”
It could have been the shitty mood after losing yesterday - which was surprisingly devastating, considering how often the third years had experienced loss since coming to Karasuno - but something really wasn’t sitting right. He didn’t like the fact that he himself hadn’t laid eyes on Daichi all day, he didn’t like the look Asahi gave him, he didn’t like that he was at their table and Daichi wasn’t. He’d expected today to be kind of off, but it was too far off. Something had to be going on.
“Nah,” Koushi said and started pulling his bento back together, “I’ll go… you, uh… you hold the fort down in case he does come. Text me?”
Asahi nodded, but that weird look was back on his face. He wished he knew what it meant, but if he wanted to find Daichi and (gently) reprimand him for skipping out on lunch, he couldn’t press. He finished packing back up and turned away, walking at a pace that he hoped hid the fact that he was getting just the tiniest bit scared of what might be going on.
It’s nothing. Probably just what Asahi said… a teacher asked him to help with something. And Daichi can’t not help someone. The guy’s hopeless.
Still, his feet carried him faster and faster as he got closer to the nearest entrance to the school. There were a few places Daichi might be, assuming a teacher hadn’t sequestered him somewhere, so he turned himself towards what he thought the most likely spot would be and made his way to the gym.
At first glance, the place was empty, but that wasn’t cause for worry yet. He wouldn’t be on the court, not if there was something wrong, so Koushi made a straight line to the storage room. Closed, but unlocked… someone was in there. As silently as he could, he turned the knob until he felt the weight of the door swing free of the catch, and moved inside with a few soft steps. Ah, and there he was. Leaning against one of the ball caddies, shoulders slumped over and head in hand, Daichi was facing away from the one window that was the sole light source for the room. It was hard to make out his face, bathed in shadow as it was, but it was clear he was… lost. In thought, in his head, he was somewhere far enough away that he hadn’t noticed Koushi’s approach.
Koushi took a step forward and stopped at the sound of a sniffle. His heart dropped a little as he realized that those slumped shoulders were shaking a little. Even more when he realized Daichi wasn’t holding his head to support it, he was clutching one hand over his mouthing, desperately pressing against it and trying to keep everything in.
Part of him wanted to leave. Slip back out the door unseen. This was something private, something vulnerable. It wasn’t meant for anyone’s eyes, and if Daichi knew he’d seen… would that be a betrayal of some kind?
But that wasn’t all. Part of him wanted to leave because he was scared. Not just of how Daichi would react when he finally noticed him, but of himself. He was terrified of what he wanted to do in this moment. Rush forward, collect Daichi in his arms, find out what hurt and make it go away. How, though? What should he do? What could he possibly do that would help… and still keep him on that highwire he’d been walking ever since they were idiot first years and Daichi had smiled at him like that with his warm brown eyes and the sun in his stupidly handsome face.
What he wanted, what his instincts said to do, was too much. But his friend - his best friend - was hurting right in front of him, and whatever nonsense his heart was trying to pull right now, Daichi needed… something. It was, Koushi figured, in his job description to at least offer. Daichi could make the choice himself to tell him to leave or let him stay.

Third Person Pov
A soft knock could be heard on the door while Yachi cried in Asahi’s arms.
“I’ll get it. Stay here Toka.” He said as he stood up leaving a kiss on top of her head.
He walked over to the front door as he opened it only to be greeted by a splash of red. He felt his body collapse as they kicked his body inside the door closing it behind him. “Fuck why are you so tall all of a sudden?” He said dragging his body into the rest of the house back to where Yachi was resting on the couch. Daichi picked up Asahi and tossed his partially alive body back onto the couch. Yachi let out a loud scream when she saw Asahi’s throat sliced wide open.
“Please don’t scream I have a headache.” Daichi sighed from behind the couch.
“WHAT THE FUCK DAICHI!” He sighed at her while she screamed on the floor.
“Looks like my partner doesn't get any of the fun this time.” He hopped the couch landing right by her feet as he reached down and grabbed her hair. “I will allow two questions so go ahead as away.”
“Why did you cut off your own fingers? How could you do this? You're insane!” She yelled in his face.
“Good questions. Too bad I won’t answer either.” He said with a sadistic laugh as he slammed her head into the floor. He reached into his pocket and grabbed out a pair of wire cutters. “You know these are great for more than just cutting wires.” He forced his weight on top of hers trapping her arms next to her torso in his muscular thighs. He reached one hand into her mouth as she began to gag as his large hand grabbed her tongue. The hand holding the wire cutters reached in and snipped her tongue as she cried out.
He got up and dragged her fighting body to the kitchen where he slammed her back into a chair. He pulled out some duct tape from his other jacket pocket and began to wrap her arms to the chairs arms easily overpowering her.
“Don’t drown in your own blood yet.” He said with a laugh. “We are just getting to the fun part.” He moved to her right hand uncurling it as she tried to recurl it instantly. “Alright so we are playing hard ball today okay.”
He walked away only to return a few seconds later with a bag she assumed was left by the front door. He dug around inside looking for something until he pulled out a nail gun. “Here we go.” He said with a sadistic smile. He pulled a random plank of wood that fit perfectly at the ends of the arms for her hands to rest on. “Don’t move too much or it will hurt more.” She coughed blood at his face in an act of rebellion. “Or don’t you stupid bitch. See if I care.”
He grabbed her hand and slammed the palm open on the plank of wood. He started aggressively shooting out nails into the back of her palm leaving her fingers untouched. She was wailing and attempting to scream through all the blood pouring from her mouth. “Are you going to behave with this hand or do I have to do this shit all over again?” She sprawled out her hand as he smiled and shot multiple into that hand as well. “I lied I enjoy seeing you in pain.”
He reached into his bag again pulling out an ice cream scoop. “I just had a really fun idea.” He walked into the other room dragging Asahi back into the room again and tossing him into the chair by Yachi. “Why did you have to date such a big dude geez.” He sighed grabbing the ice cream scoop. “You know Yachi, if you weren’t weirdly obsessed with Kuroo, like it seems most people are these days, maybe you could have been a survivor. Yukie though, she had to die. My partner had so much fun killing her you know. They said it was such a relief to hit that one home.” He laughed as he turned to Asahi’s dead body.
He squeezed the handle on the scoop a few times making sure it was able to move. Muffled gargling came from Yachi behind him. “Don’t worry, this snack won’t be for me.” He slammed the scoop into Asahi’s eye and began to play with the scoop handle. He pulled it back after a few minutes as Yachi was now face to face with her dead Asahi who was now missing an eye.
Daichi set it on the table before reaching into the bag again grabbing a hand torch. “This will probably hurt but you deserve it and I don’t want you to drown.” He ripped open her mouth and lit the torch inside, searing the inside of her mouth as she cried and flailed around in the chair. He walked over to the counter when he figured that was good enough and grabbed a cup from the cupboard. He filled it with about a sip of water before he got a different idea.
He walked back over to her and smiled. “I was going to treat you with water after giving you probably 3rd degree burns BUT I have a better idea. Since you decided to ruin my plans, I will make you suffer as much as I can.” He leaned Asahi’s body forward letting the blood pour from where his cornea once sat. “See, a drinking fountain right here.” He said with a sadistic laugh.
Yachi squirmed as much as he could as he pushed the glass to her mouth, forcing her open and closed. Holding her nose and jaw so she had no choice but to swallow. “Now you deserve a snack!” He grabbed the ice cream scoop as he forced her mouth open once again, shoving it inside. The gooey texture on her burned mouth only made her feel worse, trying her best to vomit daichi held her head up and forced the blood cup back to her mouth. He dropped the cup on her lap and plugged her nose again. He made her swallow every last bit and the eye fully. As soon as he let go she looked as if she would throw up so he grabbed her head again making sure she would keep it all down.
The front door soon opened as Daichi assumed it was his partner. “Hello! Yachi?” A female voice called out.
Daichi recognized it as Kiyoko’s soon after and looked at Yachi. “Looks like you have a guest.”
She walked into site and began to scream. Before she could grab her phone and call the cops, a hammer swung down and knocked her to the floor, unconscious as Daichi’s partner stood holding the hammer.
“You’re so fucking stupid.” They said. “There is blood all over the door. I pull in and see Kiyoko walking inside like what the great fuck Daichi.”
“You should be proud of me for making this one eat an eyeball and drink blood.” He said.
“What the fuck Daichi, after this shit I will pay for your therapy, I swear.”
“As long as you promise. He said, walking up to his partner and grabbing Kiyoko off the floor.
“I can carry her what the fuck.”
“Nah I let you have all the fun dismembering Yukie. I want to dismember this one.”
“No. I have something else in mind for her. Just take her to your trunk and make sure she’s out OUT.”
“Yes boss.” Daichi said as he bent down and began to tape her up.
“And now for you little Yachi. I brought my favorite little knife to chop each little finger of yours off and blend them all up into a yummy drink for you to have.”
“And I am the messed up one?” Daichi asked.
“Yes now go you sick fuck. We have fingers to chop. Starting with….. this one.” The person said as they stabbed the knife breaking off the finger as Yachi cried out.

Chapter One
Tadashi’s POV
After evening training Hinata and I gather up all the volleyballs and take down the net. We make our way out of the gym just as Kageyama and Tsukishima start to mop up. We get to the locker room as most of the other guys are coming out of the showers. Tanaka as usual is protesting putting his shirt on. Daichi has given up and is waiting for Suga so they can walk home together. Asahi is talking to Nishinoya and keeps messing with his hair and Hinata is looking at them with this expression that I can’t really read.
Tsukishima and Kageyama arrive just as I’m about to enter the shower. A little part of me is glad I got partnered with Hinata instead of Tsukki for cleaning the gym because I don’t think I would be able to avoid sneaking the occasional glance at Tsukki when he’s changing. This way I can wait outside and he’s fully clothed by the time I see him.
I realized I have a crush on Tsukki around a year ago. At first I thought it was a phase and it would just go away after a while. I’ve had no luck with that yet.
I have however had luck convincing Tsukki to train with me this Sunday and I’ve decided to tell him then. What’s the worst that could happen? I know exactly what the the worst thing that could happen is. I’ve thought this through to a worrying extent. A year is a long time to think about these things. Too long.
Worst Case Scenario: He doesn’t love me back. He quits volleyball and moves school. I never see him again.
Best Case Scenario: He does love me back. We start dating. Get married and grow old together.
Fingers crossed for the second option.
—————
Tsukki’s POV
Tadashi somehow managed to convince me to train with him in the park today. After an hour of receiving his jump floats he finally says we can have a water break.
“Tsukki I have to tell you something.” he looks really nervous and he won’t meet my eyes. I look down and he’s twiddling with his fingers, brushing the middle three against each other. He always does that when he’s unsure of himself.
“Okay.”
“Do you promise to still be my friend no matter what?”
“Depends what it is.”
“Please.” He says so quietly I barely hear him.
“Fine.” When he doesn’t say anything for a while I turn around to put my water bottle back in my bag.
“Tsukki I’ve fallen in love with you.”
When I turn around I look at him, really look at him. I see every stray hair framing his face. I see each freckle adorning his cheeks. The flecks of gold in his eyes. I notice how kissable his lips are. Then I see a tear fall down his perfect cheek. Then another. Then another.
“It’s okay if you don’t feel the same I mean I just wanted to tell you.” He doesn’t seem to notice that I’m walking towards him. “We can just pretend this never happe-” He’s babbling and I don’t think he’ll stop unless I stop him so I bring his chin up and gently kiss him. As our lips connect it feels like two puzzle pieces slotting together. Making themselves whole.
I wrap my arm around his back, drawing him closer. My other hand gently wipes away the tears from his cheeks. This will change everything about us but in some strange way it changes nothing. This is the same Tadashi. My first and only best friend. He has stayed with me through everything and that’s the one thing that will never change. No matter what happens we will always be there to support each other. I’ve loved him almost my whole life but now I’m in love with him.
When we break apart I look down at him. He’s smiling, but in a small, tentative way. “I think I’m in love with you too.”
“Really?”
“Really.” And I bring his face up to mine again.
—————
Tadashi’s POV
As Tsukki draws us together I wrap my arms around his neck to close the gap between us. One of his hands is on my cheek and the other travels down my back to my waist. His fingers skirt across the bit of exposed skin and I shiver from the touch.
I’ve never been happier. This was all I wanted for months and now I finally have it. My Tsukki. I feel like we’re two puzzle pieces slotting together. I feel whole, like an empty piece of my heart has been filled.
Maybe I should be worried this will change everything about us. Ruin our friendship, but I know this won’t take any of that away. All this will do is add a new magic to our relationship. A bubble is surrounding us. No one can break it away and no one can get in between us.
We break apart and I hug him close to me.
“Tsukki?”
“Yes.” He says in this breathless voice.
“I’m really happy.”
“Me too.” And he draws me impossibly closer “Me too.”
I’m safe in his arms and I don’t ever want to leave them.
—————-
Tsukki’s POV
I have Tadashi wrapped tightly in my arms and I’ve never felt better. I breathe in the scent of his hair and it smells like I always thought it would. Strawberries.
Then my phone rings. Tadashi begrudgingly untangles himself from me.
“Hi Kei. Will you and Tadashi be home soon? I made dinner.”
“We’ll be home in half an hour mum.”
“Great! I’ll see you then.”
“Bye.” I hang up and turn back around.
“So we’re heading back to your house then?”
“Yeh.” He turns around to pack everything up but I grab his wrist and pull him back towards me. “We can finish that later.” I whisper into his ear.
“Good.” He blushes and walks away.
We pack up all of our stuff and on the way out of the park I see a Mr. Whippy so we get a 99. Strawberry sauce of course. Tadashi and I both agree, strawberry is the superior fruit. On the walk home we talk about the normal things. I notice Tadashi’s free hand brushing against mine every so often so the next time is does I grab it. He smiles up at me and I feel like I’m looking into the sun. My sun.

My thoughts on the new Engeki Haikyuu, Winners and Losers!!! Details under the Read More to avoid spoiling anyone who would rather wait until the DVD release.
With a 3+ hour play, it’s hard to do a detailed summary that goes scene by scene because I know I’ll forget about something or mix up order of events, so I mostly want to go over the major themes and particular scenes and characters that stuck out to me. If you have questions for any other character or how a specific scene played out, please feel free to ask! One of the main bits of thematic imagery used this time around was wind as well as the obvious one of music, which we’ve seen in dress rehearsal footage. They went with something of a wind theme for Aoba Johsai, with projections that show gusts of wind flowing across the stage with leaves flying on it, sometimes the breeze animation will shift into twisting, curling vines. Hinata has a couple of dream sequences in the play where he’s buffeted by those winds, and he repeats: “There’s a wind blowing. Sometimes it’s with you, sometimes it’s against you.” Kenma is in the dreams as well (sometimes with a cat head), warning Hinata to not get caught up in that wind, but also implicitly reminding him that he needs that wind to fly.  No seriously, the dream sequences were meant to be surreal and weird. This results in a line that Hinata says to Kageyama that is unique to the stage play. “Kageyama, let’s ride the wind!” And to go along with that theme and those images, there are several moments throughout the play where Kenta is strapped into a bungee that hangs down from the ceiling (once, Kageyama is strapped into a bungee of his own) and them he will literally go flying around the stage, taking massive leaps as they run around. Sometimes he’s hooked into a lifting harness and it’ll pull him just straight up into the air where he’ll even just flip around on them like an aerial acrobat to show how high he can “fly.” I personally really enjoyed this added thematic element to this match. I always enjoy when a new version of an existing work interprets the source material in creative ways to work specifically with the new medium, and Engeki Haikyuu is always excellent about fully utilizing THEATER-SPECIFIC effects and humor. It does things with the story you’ll never see in the anime, things that don’t read right in illustrations, and I’ve always held a deep appreciation for the creative collaboration this show has been. When it comes to the music theme, it’s there for both teams, but much less so for Karasuno, since Aoba Johsai is meant to be the image of a smooth orchestra, and Karasuno is still a little haphazard as a team. Every single piece of Seijoh’s choreography and music reflects the orchestra theme. Their movements are always elegant and smooth, and now they feature a lot of ballet movements. Aoba Johsai is meant to be classical music, Karasuno is a rock band trying to figure itself out lol. And of course that ties into the setters because Oikawa is that model orchestra conductor. When Suga is on the court, it’s like he’s directing a jazz band. Fun and upbeat, mostly in sync, but not Seijoh’s elegance. For Kageyama, it’s difficult to get the hang of the conducting, he doesn’t quite know how to lead the team in a distinct choreography line Suga can, but that also highlights how hard the team is working around Kageyama to try to follow the pace he’s setting. So following that I want to talk about Kageyama because I must have cried for about three of his scenes at least. They feature a lot of flashbacks for him, including the middle school mid-match rejection we’ve seen before, as well as the scene from middle school where he asks Oikawa to teach him and nearly got punched instead. These flashback scenes are done a few times each, with the narration and POV switching between characters, and when it’s Kageyama’s POV, he is unbelievably hurt when Oikawa rejects him the way he did. He gets so caught up in that memory, remembering that he then decided he would simply have to become better than Oikawa, and this is when his conducting gets super erratic and his plays start getting sloppy. Sometimes the King of the Court will appear on stage (a secondary actor wearing the crown and the cloak) and Kageyama will see him and turn away in fear. Just before he’s benched and Suga takes the court, he grabs the King by the shoulders screaming at him, “NOT YOU! NO! GO AWAY!” They show him physically rejecting this haunting memory of the setter he used to be, and honestly, it’s super heartbreakinggggg. Heart-wrenching moments also go to Suga of course, but I always found them most GUHHH when his own insecurities are directly tied to still being a good senpai to Kageyama. And I feel like the stage play acknowledges this much more than the manga and the anime, because they give Suga and Kageyama so many moments together. The stage play better shows Kageyama’s admiration of Suga and also his appreciation of him, as the setter senpai who doesn’t reject him the way Oikawa did. Over and over the two of them share this one line of dialogue where Suga gently reminds Kageyama that their team is strong and he’s not alone. He can depend on them. Suga: What do we say about our team? Kageyama: Everyone is very strong. Whenever Suga is on the court they give a LOT of attention to third years and how overjoyed the three of them are to play together. Daichi and Asahi are extra animated and take center stage with Suga as they play, and it’s sooooo sweeeet!!! They do also include flashbacks to the third years when they first joined Karasuno, and this is done by the three seconds years wearing face masks of the older three. Kazuma/Ennoshita plays younger Suga, Kouhei/Tanaka plays younger Asahi, and Shouhei/Noya plays younger Daichi. Hilariously, Shouhei has like a cushion or something stuffed up his shirt to give him Daichi’s broad chest and then he also just sticks that chest out constantly and I could not stop laughing. THE TOBIUO. A scene where I laughed WAY longer than I should have was when Tsukishima and Tanaka make the flying fish joke with Kageyama’s name. What you don’t see is everyone else covering Kageyama from view as he puts on AN ACTUAL RIDICULOUS BLUE FISH OUTFIT and then he awkwardly hops forward screaming that he’s not a fish. And just when I thought to myself, wow, I can’t believe they made him a fish outfit for this 2 second joke, HE THEN KEPT IT ON FOR THE ENTIRE NEXT BIT OF CONDUCTING CHOREOGRAPHY, FLAPPING HIS FINS TO LEAD THE TEAM IN A ROUTINE FOR A SOLID 3 MINUTES??? BEFORE HE WADDLED OFF-STAGE TO CHANGE. I cried at that. Another sequence of scenes that I found super emotional was everything leading up to Yamaguchi’s failed serve. They show him asking Shimada, training with him, etc… but they also tied in Tsukishima more closely. They show Yamaguchi telling Tsukki he has something else to do and running off, and Tsukishima acting very rejected. During the Seijoh match, during a timeout, he and Tsukki share this dialogue. Yamaguchi: It looks rough out there. Tsukishima: Well obviously. Standing on the court for a while is tiring. Yamaguchi: But… I’m still envious. Of everyone. I want to stand on the court too! And as Yamaguchi stands there, his back to Tsukki as he admires the team, Tsukishima reaches out and says Yamaguchi’s name to tell him something BUT THEN THE WHISTLE BLOWS and they have to resume play. I have never been more frustrated omg because that extra “Yamaguchi!” is not in the manga or anime and my heart was just screaming WHAT WERE YOU GOING TO SAY?!?!?? As for adorable cute, time to talk about Kuroo and Kenma. Because oh my god. I know a lot of you know by now that Takato and Shouri cross dress to play Oikawa fangirls during the match, but they have about FIVE MILLION costume changes???? They’re CONSTANTLY running off the stage to change into Kuroo and Kenma and coming out on stage for flashbacks or Hinata dream sequences or to serve as visual reminders for Kageyama and Hinata as they remember playing with them. They’re constantly implying that the setters always have that one spiker that they trust and always toss to. For Kenma, that’s Kuroo. For Kageyama, it’s Hinata. For Oikawa, it’s Iwaizumi. For Suga, it’s Asahi. Kuroo frequently circles Hinata as Kenma circles Kageyama to play up that parallel. And then they run off stage to put the skirts and the extra hair pieces back on… I mean, I lost count of the costume changes after ten. As girls, they did a personality switch so Takato is the friendly, outgoing girl who is always pulling Shouri along and engages in conversation with Shimada about the game and the plays they make. Shouri is the shy one who trails behind or is scared of talking to Shimada and the one who gets super flustered and squealy. These two are the source of the humor most of the time because the players have a lot of drama going on obviously. When they first get on stage as girls, Takato asks, “Did you get taller again?” Shouri, super chipper, and with his voice pitched up, goes, “Now I’m 187cm tall!” They also show up at the end of the first intermission to open the second Act as Kuroo and Kenma. Kuroo STRUTS onto the stage and dramatically gestures for everyone to clap, and then he SNAPS to make everyone stop and just goes, “That’s goood~” Then he tries to do the Nekoma chant but gets to the brain line and goes, “Wait! The brain isn’t here! Kenma!!!” Then Kenma walks onto the stage playing a game and Kuroo tells him to switch it off, so Kenma turns to the audience. “Since I have to turn off my game, if everyone else in the audience could also please turn off your cell phones and refrain from—“ Kuroo: “Who are you talking to?” And Kenma keeps giving general viewing instructions and Kuroo keeps being weirded out because obviously “There’s nobody there.” But then Kenma keeps trying to break the fourth wall and keeps asking Kuroo taboo questions. Kenma: Say, Kuroo… why are we the only Nekoma members— Kuroo: That’s taboo!!! Kenma: What about those girls— Kuroo: ALSO TABOO; DON’T SAY IT!!!! Obviously these are supposed to be the girls that originally came to cheer on Oikawa but as they continued to watch the match, they started rooting for Karasuno too. Towards the end of the third set, Takato shouts, “Aoba Johsai, Karasuno… Both of you do your best!!!” And then Shouri starts PULLING UP HIS SKIRT to show his Nekoma uniform underneath and shrieks, “NEKOMA, DO YOUR BEST TOO!” and Takato has to pull his skirt back down while screaming that that was especially taboo!!! Shouri spends the rest of their scene there with his pink skirt pulled up awkwardly around his chest because of the way he pulled on it, and it was SUPER DISTRACTING. And um… uhhh…. I’m leaving out so much, there was so much going on, but this is so long and… I woke up at 4am because of jetlag and instead of going back to sleep I started writing this so... I’ll make other posts as I remember more and feel free to ask!!!

Haikyuu Noragami AU
I love these two fandoms dearly, and I absolutely needed to combine them excuse the many holes
Disclaimer, I actually had two versions of this AU - one that was from an Iwaoi POV (which was my initial plan) and one that was a Kagehina POV.  Once I played around with it a little more, I decided the Kagehina one worked better with the Norgami plot.  If you want to see what my original plans for the Iwaoi AU was, just send an ask and I’d be happy to post it even if it has exponentially more holes than this one I cry.
Without further ado, the HQ Noragami AU!
- Kageyama is a unknown god of calamity, who is struggling to make it in Takamagahara.  Currently, he’s charging five yen for menial tasks and his shinki, Kunimi, quit because of Kageyama’s demanding personality
- while wandering around the city on his own because Kunimi left looking for a missing cat, he’s pushed out of the way of an incoming truck by an energetic, ginger high school student named Hinata
- as a result of the accident, Hinata is half ayakashi who is able to toggle between the Far Shore and the Near Shore.  Hinata demands Kageyama help him return to being fully human, and Kageyama promises he’ll help him. But first he’s going to need a new shinki
- and lo behold, in the snow is a smol glowing bean that Kageyama names his new shinki.  The new shinki is Tsukki, who is initially cold toward Kageyama and refuses to do as he says.  (Eventually they warm up to each other)
- Suga is the god of poverty and is always causing bad luck for everyone around him.  He’s very fond of Kageyama, Tsukki, and especially Hinata.  Suga’s shinki is Daichi.  Daichi is not as warm as Suga is in opening their doors to Kageyama and Tsukki but does so anyway to placate Suga. Daichi warms up to Tsukki and comes to think of him as a younger brother
- Suga knew Daichi wanted a baby shinki so he went out and literally found a baby shinki and named him Asahi.  Asahi, however, was a curious child who didn’t know he was dead, and Daichi couldn’t bring himself to tell Asahi the truth, which ended up blighting Suga to the point where Suga was forced to release Asahi and make Daichi promise to let Suga die if he is ever on the verge of death.  This way, when Suga is reincarnated as a child, Daichi will be able to raise a child like he always wanted.
- Kageyama is the one to sever the bond between Daichi and Asahi
- Oikawa is the deadliest war god and is known for taking any lost soul under his wing and making them his shinki.  He holds a grudge against Kageyama for slaughtering all of his shinki in the past and will stop at nothing to make sure Kageyama pays
- Iwaizumi is Oikawa’s most loyal shinki as well as the one who has been with Oikawa the longest.  They have an extremely close relationship and it is heavily implied that Iwaizumi loves Oikawa more than a master; however because he is his shinki their relationship can be nothing more than master and servant. It does not stop Iwaizumi from doing just about anything for Oikawa
- Iwaizumi is the main shinki and guidepost, but Oikawa’s other shinki include Mattsun, Makki, Yahaba, Watari, Kindaichi, Kyoutani, Kaneo, Motomu, and Heisuke (basically the rest of Seijoh except Kunimi)
- Bokuto is one of the wealthiest gods and frequently teases Kageyama for being a poor, unrecognized god.  Kunimi is Bokuto’s newest shinki, something that mildly offends Kageyama.  Bokuto, though knowledgable in many fields, is extremely erratic and falls into slumps.  No shinki is safe if they get on his nerves/blight him
- Bokuto also has a spirit that has stayed by his side for thousands of years, Akaashi.  Akaashi is extremely loyal to Bokuto, as he’s been there for him even through the erratic mood swings and slumps.  Akaashi keeps Bokuto in line as his guidepost, even though he’s not a shinki
- I can’t think of anyone who is devious enough to actually want to kill Tsukki and Hinata while caring deeply for Kageyama though.  None of the characters in Haikyuu are manipulative, and Noragami has a few too many of those types of characters.  I genuinely haven’t been able to think of who could possibly fill the roles of Nora or Trash Dad, even though they’re a huge part of the plot :\  I originally thought of Tendou for Nora, but idk it just didn’t seem right.  I’d love to know if anyone else had any ideas!
- tentative: Ennoshita - Ebisu, Tanaka, Noya, and Yamaguchi - Ennoshita’s shinki.  I’m fairly positive Ebisu had six or so, in addition to Nora and three of them were killed ;-; (this is honestly the problem with Noragami. Haikyuu is such a pick me up and Noragami... isn’t...)
the other conflict I had with this, similar to my KnB Psycho Pass AU, is that there are far too many Haikyuu characters in comparison to Noragami characters.  I really wanted to include Date Tech and Johzenji, but there’s just no way I can fit them in without altering some of the characters entirely just to do that.  I’d rather not make a character like Terushima be Trash Dad for the sake of filling in the holes in my AU
This turned out way longer than I thought it would be, even in comparison to the KnB one I wrote and mentioned earlier.  I’ll probably add more to this as I go along and properly fill in the holes, but, please, don’t be afraid to add to this or send asks to clarify something that didn’t make sense!
