YESS!! I just FINALLY just got through stage 40 of the Directional Ice trials with HIGHLY under-ranked memories courtesy of the memory pair... and beat stages 41 and 42 as well!!!

Now my next question is wHY T'F CAN I STILL NOT BEAT OPEN TRIAL STAGE 38?!?! FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure even the jcs soundtrack can save me tonight

#I have 6/15 pages written of a research paper due tomorrow at midnight and I wasted today bc insomnia and poor choices meant I was too tired #to focus for most of the day and my relatives arrive tomorrow so I can’t spend tomorrow writing but I am so exhausted #the idea of pulling an all nighter to write a paper sounds like #torture right now tbh I already cried on the phone to my mom #and like I already have 90% of the research done and it’s an art history paper so I can get a lot of mileage out of describing images i just #I’m so tired. I already took a 2 hr nap and I’m on my 3rd cup of coffee of the day #also bc I didn’t get much sleep and I’m on my period I am wicked nauseous today and threw up this morning and have been trying not to throw #up again all day which is really fun and being anxious about having to stay up is not helping

Is it ridiculous to think maybe this whole hospital thing and related business has mildly traumatised me? Is it ridiculous that I want to write about it in excruciating detail, just get the experience out on paper, on my blog, somewhere? It feels dumb but I want to write fic about it. I think it'd fix me.

#Still haven't really properly cried tho I am kinda tearing up as I write this #I'm not having a good mental health time rn ngl #The callous way some of the docs treated me; the way their sole focus was on reproduction without a single care for the hormones...#The generally terrible way I deal with surgery/post-surgery #It wasn't. As bad? The last few times?#I think I've also made myself forget a lot from the first 2 times #3rd time was more traumatising.#This last one tho... I never stayed for more than a night at the hospital. I never want to stay at a hospital ever again.#I never want to have surgery again #I swear if I have to do that again I will have my panic attack before they even put me under #It was so painful this time and people weren't listening to me at all when I told them the iv wasn't sitting right anymore #Nurses and doctors kept dismissing my opinions and wishes and needs....#It was like as a patient you're less than human.#My arm is still bruised from where they fucked up their blood draws...#I'm so tired but I can't seem to rest #I'm so full of emotions but I can't seem to let them go and *cry*#Its like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop #Pls ignore me amd my rambles I'm just. outer wilds is so strong it is literally the first media In existance that i loved enough to make my blog be themed after it. i have an ow url. b4 this i literally never had a fandom url and i never had a fandom themed blog. aside from my hamilton roleplay side acct on quotev.com when i was 11 but thats neither here nor there.

#i have loved 1 singular video game equally and its of well hold on. 2 other video games #1. kirbys eoic yarn which will be my number one favorite video game until the day i die. outerwilds ending felt like a religious experience #tl me. it genuinely changed me as a person.and yet kirbys wpic yarn number one #rhe lther game is plague tale both kf them bc i love them smmm i think theyre below ow tho. so like 3rd place.. even tho im like mentally #unwell abt them. and i think of my top 3 games ive cried THE MOST lver plague tale #im getting choked up like. currently. as we speak. bc i thought abt king hugo again. oh my god. oh my god.#i think its funny my top 3 games go from Game ive never cried over -> game i have cried over once kr twice-> game where i literally had 2 #repeatedly pause during the last ~2 hours of the game bc i was sobbing too hard to see through my tears.and the same at numerous times #earlier in the game. and during the first game as well LOL.#ik plague tale is a much more acquired taste than epic yarn which is literally jusr fun. and if u dont like it you judt dont like fun.#and ow which ive Never met somebody who played outwr wilds and didnt get crazy abt it. ive never even met somebody who just felt so-so abt #outer wilds MUCH LESS someone who truly didnt like it #whereas plague tale yk. i could understand not liking either game.for like any number of reasons #And yet. its so good to me

#this one is actually a joke #but also. again. absolutely hilarious that the generational divide has become a matter of whether or not a kid is smart instead of things #like tv shows #unironically fnaf works as a great example of the generational divide #gen x tends to not even know who that is #millennials know but haven’t been heavily impacted #a lot of the most popular horror games in recent years have become as such because of some similarities to fnaf #even if it’s unconscious modern kids lean heavily into jumpscare style games because everybody grew up playing fnaf #like bendy and the ink machine and poppy playtime and baldi’s basics and hello neighbor and so many others #jumpscare based stress games tend to be more popular because of the impact of fnaf #which really fnaf took inspiration from the slenderman game which i played on the bud in 3rd grade and cried over but #the cultural phenomenon is fnaf #EVEN AMONG US

Okay so i havent completely come to terms with it yet but WE WON THE HP CODEWARS (a coding competition in teams) AND WERE ACTUALLY GOING TO HOUSTON TO COMPETE IN NEXT YEAR'S COMPETITION WHAT

#what what what #what the fuck #(only adding the pic of me alone bc im too lazy to ask my friends for permission lol)#no but really what #like we knew we had options to make podium but no way we were going to win #we didnt even rlly believe we would actually make podium before starting bc there were some rlly good teams #(we kinda know everyone good so that was easy to spot)#and then after the competition we were like huh we did pretty badly we think #then we thought again and compared with last year and we said huh maybe not suuuuper bad but not rlly good either #(last year it was online and you could have a computer per person but this year it was only one so it was rlly different)#amd then we talked with the ppl that we knew and we were like huh were the best so far #then they talked to like everyone good bc they literally know everyone and they were like congraats youre 99% sure winning #and we were like naaaaah impossible you probably missed someone or smth theres no way #like we were pretty sure we were gonna be making podium by then but we somehow didnt even fully believe it #and then at the awards ceremony they gave the first girl team prize to someone else with less points and we were like aaaaa we made podium #and then they announced the third position we literally screamed bc since we knew ppls points we knew it meant we were first #i almost cried istg #like being 2nd or 3rd or 4th or first girl is like yeah im good but im not the best but like being THE best? being first is scary #it feels fake and confusing but also im so happy and i dont know how to express it aaaaaa its so weird #and the fact that were going to HOUSTON next year? what the actual fuuuck feels impossible #like were going to go there? a prize that is only for the first group? rlly? just like that?? whaaaat #also now hp has our data (we obv gave it to them) and they will likely be happy to accept us to work and/or get internships there so yayyy #but im still not over any of this it rlly feels fake like what the fuck one of the important hp research facilities asked for MY email??#what the fuuuuuuuck #also unrelated but they just had a paper mache how to train your dragon dragon just there in the corner of a football field like whaat #(a dragon that was bigger than us not some cute little figure eeh)#mine #life #codewars

being someone who started xiv w 5.3 (basically! though i caught up with everything with 5.5) man all the changed in xiv since then (like the earliest dungeons being changed, the ending of 2.0 with the fights being made to be better) kinda make me sad because i am a sentimental person but also it really has improved the game even if i do miss the past, however uh. worse it may have been! also because my friends who get into ffxiv will never be able to experience what i have and as time goes on that will continue to happen, and then new players as well... so yeah. feeling this way esp with regard to cape westwind the hardest fight in game T___T

How to write angst ?

know your character. from their deepest fears to what they cherish the most. know your deepest fear, ask yourself how you will react and feel at that moment. "oh shit, if this happened to me I'll lose my mind" what's that type of scenario for you? write it. :)

decide on the type of angst you are going for!

major, minor, physical, emotional, paranormal, spiritual, verbal, abusive, quarrel, misunderstanding, etc.

and then, decide on--what reaction you can take out of your character by doing what to them.

are they gonna be, held at a gunpoint to give something up? or have their soul wrecked by whom they thought were close to them? or is it going be horror, or etctec, decide on it.

moving on to actually writing it-

Tip 1 - Use sensory details.

her eyes brimmed with tears

his chest heaved

pain clawed at his heart, as his face twisted with hurt

his scream pierced my heart

her lips quivered

she dug her nails into her palms (to distract herself, to stop it from shaking, etc)

show what is happening to ur MC, instead of telling it.

Tip 2 - how to actually write it.

If they're panicking, make them notice too many things at once, show every detail that they're seeing, feeling, from touch, to that burning sensation on their eyes, the blood on the ground, that dryness of their throat, the buzzing in their head and their parted lips unable to trust their own sight, and--and, boom! have them register that they're really really in trouble. and that they've to act fast.

use short, very minimal type of writing for this. make it long, but not long enough that it feels like it's being dragged.

the readers should hold themselves back from skimming the page out of curiousity, they should be in their toes to find out what happens next.

what does your MC do in times of panic? do they chant calm down to themselves, do they get angry, or start crying.. or?? what makes your character genuinely feel an emotion so hard that they'll burst?

there's always something, someone that'll always give them love and easily can be that something or someone to take it away. yk.

Tip 3 - crying.

what is close to your character that u can deprive them of? will it make them cry? beg for it?

what will make ur character cry so hard, that their scream fills everyone's ear, stays in their minds like ghosts and always haunts them?

make a character who never cries, burst out with tears.

while writing crying, focus on the 5 senses, one after the other.

focus it on their breath, make them run out of breath, gasp for air, feel like they're being choked, cry so scrutinizingly. it shud punch the reader's gut.

have them replay what had just happened over and over again in their head

best books and writing styles (for angst) to analyse and learn from (in my opinion);

3rd book in the AGGTM series (yk it hit hard like a truck. it got me depressed in bed the entire time lmao)

Five Survive by Holly Jackson. The moments of red outside of the truck, and moments leading to it.

there's this book called " Warm by @untalentedwriter127 " in wattpad. the author served angst for breakfast, lunch anddd dinner.
