wendesday - thursday

tomorrow my gf is going to the dentist...

i am wishing her luck but i know she'll be fine. it just really scares her and i probably won't be ready in time to go with her. i also have to do a grocery list tonight, if she does end up going tomorrow but it's a maybe mostly.

it started raining just now... i hope it keeps going. i want to see big heavy clouds and rain tomorrow, even if it's just through the window as i shower. i want to see the cold grey sky... there were some cirrocumulus clouds (i did look that up) they were a touch heavier and greyer, but i think i am getting that right... i should get better at telling what type of cloud is what. i really like clouds. i love the rain and i love clouds... my liking of rain makes my gf call me a 'manic pixie dream girl' sometimes which is like so yucky. i'm not that i'm just normal.

i didn't do much music stuff today, sadly, i did write a lot though. i had an epiphany about what to do with a piece of writing that i hadn't finished, a story, and so i went and did it and that was maybe 18 pages and now it's finished i think, or at the final image and scene, i'm happy with where it is now but who knows if i'll feel so in the future or tomorrow or what my two trusted friends will say about it. hopefully they like it. the last thing i shared i said was something that i felt might have been something they hated but they did not. still, this feels like a big swing i guess, with writing. the phone phreak stuff helped something appear to me, or it attached itself to a theme in the piece and then it helped articulate it too, and helped me to do something i'm enjoying doing lately, which is switch tense a lot and perspective of who is narrating. it always ends up being framed several times over. it feels useful to me, to getting stuff out as i think it.

eq dropped a new song today... in keeping with their work, the song itself is great and they sound good on it... but the lyrics are kind of terrible...

i also like this video / series of images much more than their last for eqetamine. but like... i love my girlfriends. we are at the party. and i love them. i feel like someone... it's just not very good. it's not good in a party-y way, and it's also not really succeeding at the weird dissociative party angle, it's just kind of, awkward i guess. it's sort of like... i like their personalities in their voices a decent amount, but there is a cold remove to it, which works with the tone of the music itself, but that tone also imparts this affect of... i don't quite know. but it's sort of like if ayesha erotica were berlin-ified. they should maybe go farther along the poetics of lines like 'getty images stunt' if they are gonna do songs in english. i honestly think they'd be much better in spanish entirely though. i don't understand it but i do think it comes off as having a more poetic edge, even when they're listing off little frivolous things, my mini bag, my bridge piercing, it just comes off better. maybe it's entirely because i don't speak spanish. i should get someone who does speak spanish well to listen. i think the part where she's singing about the night in buenos aires, for its vagueness, also would work. it's loose and works as a lyrical thing, it's evocative enough for a song like this i think. maybe it being kind of fucked up and weird to me is good, idk, not that i think it's secretly genius but it's definitely got a thing about it, more personality that way, more jank to it, i suppose in all cases i'm a proponent of things being a touch janky. god knows my lyrics are janky...

i do really like their getty images thing, unreservedly i think that's genius, and i like estratosfera's outfit here a lot. one funny thing to me is they're out here hanging out with umru...

the thing about ayesha feels like a weird thing to come at it from, not that i'm especially wrong, just that ayesha is also giving a distant sort of delivery at times too, like in party bitch:

where she is being a #bitch, also she's a lot funnier than eq are trying to be, and i don't think they need to be, idk. ayesha is just so profane. and they don't need to be that, idk... there's just something in the whole equation of fronting an electroclash party music thing they're not going for, i respect it... i guess maybe a contention is that it's soooo like... girlblog-y feeling. maybe it really immediately connects for that audience... idk though... being obvious i don't think is great. i'm also being a bit of a pedant here, i do like the song basically. i will probably come back to it. i am also basically excited for their album if only because their voices go well with the songs they write and they're really compelling pieces of electronic music. it's like the one gap for me, with their music. maybe it's good that there's a gap at all though? i think gaps make things stick a lot more ultimately.

tomorrow i'm excited to eat a leftover burger... i like .... bruger. that's something on my mind too right now.

Pjo headcanons: I’m not set on this but I feel like they break up for a bit. Like maybe after college annabeth gets some crazy opportunity to go to Amsterdam or Paris or something to study architecture/city planning for grad school and it’s just her DREAM program & Percy is just figuring out his post gra and they break up. like their foil of annabeth rly having no roots yet Percy being so rooted in nyc/his fam would come up. They would be devastated but then end up thriving & learning a lot 1/2

2/2 a lot ab themselves, they see other ppl casually but nothing crazy. Then maybe like 4-5 yrs later they find themselves at some party w camp ppl and they hook up or annabeth moves to nyc or both and then they rekindle their relationship and are so happy bc it’s just so much BETTER and just they never knew they could be even better tg than they were in college but they are, they did it & the rest of their life they look at those 4ish yrs apart as such a time of growth and even tho they wish

update for future me: my cat ash died :( august 2019. was super traumatizing. i scream-sobbed it was so despairing. he was so sweet. i held him as he died. he was given some vanilla ice cream so his last moments were of happiness. ummm now im crying again ... whoops. still very raw. probably the hardest thing ive ever went through. that sounds stupid but he really was special and loved and i could tell he loved me a lot.
