DONT SUBMIT THIS. this is just where im gonna write down observations and hypothosises hypotheses about the artifact this isnt a formal report. keep this pages seperate from anything you submit to the class
i found it at a non-magical thrift shop. its a single ribbon that was in the toy section, but its too big for a stuffed animal, and it was on a shelf too high for kids to reach anyway. its a simple red colour and you can tell from the wear/bends in the fabric that its meant to be worn in a bow
its SO cursed. i could sense it as soon as i was through the door. something doesnt get that powerful accidentally, unless a witch older than the professors have been using it for over a century. i think it was intentionally enchanted and left for some human sucker
ill read up on class protocol and start experimenting tomorrow
day 1
i scheduled some time in a mannequin room. i double checked everything, the falsified humanity in the mannequin, lack of external contamination, everything seemed fine. after 3 hours of the bow on its wrist, and then its hair, i cant find any registerable enhancements or curses.
my current hypothesis is that there isnt any effect on the wearer. its a false positive enchantement, where all of its energy is going towards appearing powerful instead of actually doing anything
which is a relief cuz according to protocol i can wear it now ehehehe. i was really hoping its be benign because its a really cute ribbon? i was kinda distracted by the magic part but its really nice! it has a fun retro vibe, i love how the colour is just a little faded too. should i wear more ponytails?
day 2
started out by just wearing it on my wrist. i know it probably doesnt make too much of a difference as long as im wearing it at all, but i dunno if it really is cursed i at least dont want it to start by my brain
i dont think there were any effects? maybe its cuz i kept fiddling with it all day so it may have interrupted the connection? most cursed artifacts need a physical connection and if this is an accessory it could be designed for long-term contact. so i guess as long as i take it off every once in a while ill be fine? im still sticking with the false positive hypothesis, just being precautious
i guess i could just talk about my day in case there are symptoms in retrospect? i cant really think of anything negative though. i did a great job focusing in class and i feel like i was really productive. i made some good progress on my term paper and i took really solid notes
i guess i kinda zoned out between classes? it wasnt when i was talking with friends or anything just doing menial stuff like walking around. i wasnt daydreaming or anything it was just like my brain kinda shut off and my body moved on its own. i dont think thats a thing, im probably just on edge and noticing a habit for the first time. nothing to worry about
Day 3
alright. i wore it in my hair today. so far so good?
i experienced the following things that may be symptoms: minor stiffness in the muscles, a greater inclination to formality, and a strange feeling in the wrist (specifically the same one i wore the ribbon on yesterday). the feeling is hard to pin down, its a strange floaty stiffness underneath the skin. it isn't unpleasant, but the asymmetry isnt welcome.
i feel like this is definitely an effect of my wearing it closer to my head, like i suspected the other day. i dont think its enough to warrent taking it off yet. its a very nice ribbon.
Day 4.
I am turning into a doll.
I shouldn't have kept wearing it. I should've taken yesterday as a warning. Now I feel that emptiness spreading and it's spreading way too fast. There's also the... physical transformation.
My left wrist is starting to... it's hard to explain. I can feel the changes happening. There's still skin over my wrist joint but it feels like it's not natural. It's still literally human skin, but it feels as if there's a glove that's growing thinner by the hour. I think before the day is over it'll waste away completely as it slowly corrupts the rest of my hand.
The mental transformation is much more worrying. In the grand scheme of things my behaviour is mostly unchanged. I'm just more... aware of it now. Typically, I naturally slouch, and I've been made more self-aware of this habit to the extent that I need to manually initiate it rather than falling into it unconsciously. It's the same with whenever I notice my attention drifting during lectures, or notice that I'm walking too loosely, or speaking too casually. It may just be that heightened awareness is an aspect of dollhood, or... it's more noticable because it's out of place for a doll to act in such a way. Regardless, I do not feel forced to defy this inclinations yet.
I don't want to write the same way I did before. Looking at how I did before feels... wrong. Inappropriate. i can try and force something more casual but i have to force it, it feels like trying to speak a second language youve only. Excuse me. That you've only just started learning. I want to go back and fix that but I feel like it would undermine my point. It just doesn't feel right, there's something viscerally discomforting about doing that.
I'm very hesitant to reach out about this. Beyond a fear of social repercussion inherent to admitting that a witch is becoming a doll, I'm worried that there will be a serious academic punishment attached to being this callous with a cursed artifact. I'll need to find a student I can trust to reverse this.
Day Five.
Things are getting dire. This I can feel the changes getting harder to resist.
Physically, the transformation has already converted my entire left arm. My wrist, elbow, and most of its my left hand have been changed into a hollow plastic, only movable with exposed joints. This one exp I expected it to feel more harrowing, for the creeping conversion to feel more tangibly uncomfortable, but so far it is... pleasant. Being emptied out always seemed so unwelcome when the older witches described it, but it feels nice to not have the constant pulsing of blood or the strain of muscles. This one likes the noise it makes when it taps agains
I. Me. I do. Me me human person witch.
This is what I mean. It feels like I have to be vigilant to talk like a person, and a single moment's broken concentration is all it takes to give in and become complacent to dollhood.
I need to intentionally break my posture to slouch. This one c I cannot stop my footsteps from being dainty and gentle. During lectures when the professor asks for input from the class, it takes deliberate effort to avoid participation, because good dolls always do as they are told.
I didn't write that. I swear to the stars I didn't write that. It was thinking about what to write next and that thought just... naturally injected itself. Perhaps this one needs to. Perhaps I need to resort to desperate measures and remove the bow. But I... really don't want to. It makes this one look so pretty, like a good doll.
No, no, I'm not a good doll, I don't WANT to be a good doll. I feel like I'm going insane. My humanity is draining by the second and soon there's be nothing left but empty pliability and polite docility. That is a bad thing. I am not excited for that. This one needs to put more effort into finding a witch to break this curse. It wishes it could skip its lectures, but good dolls do as they're t
I. Am. Going to bed.
Day Six.
This one's friends have finally noticed. This one accidentally called one of them "miss" when answering a question, and then the entire secret quickly unravelled. This one needed to use a sweater to hide the transformation reaching its shoulders, and there's a distinctly inhuman texture to this one's face, so it was easy for them to unravel once I gave them reason to be suspicious.
They offered to be the ones to conduct the search for the cure, on the only condition that this one take care of some menial chores to help free time in their schedules. This one feels... a little conflicted. On one hand, it is excited to be closer to its humanity! It cannot wait to feel blood spill through its body, and escape that terrifying feeling of having its brain shut off so it feels nothing but a fluttering emptiness.
This one. Just said "Awawa". Out loud.
It does not want this to progress further. Yes, it feels... very nice to be a doll. But that enjoyment has to be the work of the curse. This one needs to return to its study, it cannot afford to fall behind in the academic arms race. Being a human means having expectations to fulfill, something dolls are too simple and too docile to understand.
This one. Did it. Again.
This is a vacation. Nothing more. It will indulge in its urges to be obedient when doing chores for its friends and then return to developing its magic talent to the greatest degree the curse will allow.
Day Five Hundred and Twelve.
This one was rather surprised to find its notes from before it became. They were tucked away in its closet, with other sentimental items such as certain childhood keepsakes and its government identification. This one figured it would be fun to return to journaling as a hobby.
As can likely be surmised, this one remains a doll. The search for a cure was fruitless and fizzled out naturally due to a lack of investment, both from this one and from Miss. Speaking of, Miss is one of its friends from university, although the word "friend" feels like a shallow means of explaining a doll's relationship with its witch. Its other friends still keep contact and meet up for tea, which this one greatly enjoys catering for.
It feels very silly looking back at this one's humanity, especially given the apprehension it felt towards becoming. In retrospect, the situation being forced upon this one was likely the only way it would have become without years of soul-searching introspection, so it is very thankful to have happened upon such a gift so long ago. Perhaps part of its enchantment was to find the right host?
Part of this one misses that ribbon. It was such a nice colour... but this one feels confident in the decision to return it to the same thrift store it was once found in. It feels excited for the next lucky doll to feel the same joys that this one did. The exhilaration of feeling your body become lighter and more rigid, the stillness slowly overtaking your mind with greater and greater intensity, and of course the pleasure of following one's purpose. Awawawa...
It is late, and good dolls need rest. This one is excited to spend tomorrow night writing about all the joys of serving Miss.

hc powers of the seven: blessing edition
not all of the seven are included here because I don't think all of the seven have gotten blessings
firstly, i think blessings are lasting.
is this entirely canon? not really. but frank's blessing physically altered him, so it's pretty possible. now to the actual hcs:
jason: blessing of lupa. he's got very sharp teeth and a strong bite. enhanced senses, other than sight, so he's pretty sensitive to noise. i also doubt that the wolves provided him with cooked food, so he's pretty much got an iron stomach and can eat raw meat. thats what he did with the wolves. however!! this power has drawbacks. he's more likely to be hurt by loud sounds, and his sensitivity means that, while he's a great fighter, you can stun him if you're too loud, though he gets back up after. blessings are also curses. he looks at it fairly, noting both the good and bad effects of it. the noise sensitivity also gives opportunities for him fearing his own lighting and thunder.
frank: blessing of mars. we know this one. what could i possibly change—give him fear manipulation. his very aura can cause anxiety and maybe even paranoia in new people. he hates it. so much. it makes him physically taller and stronger, but it scares the new campers and makes them nervous. he considers it more of a curse than a blessing.
piper: blessing of aphrodite. yes, this happened in canon at her claiming. all I'm editing is saying she got enhanced charmspeak powers from it *cough* and the ability to breathe underwater *cough* i mean what sea goddess aphrodite who? doesn't notice it until shrimpzilla. considers it a blessing. although she hates her mom and probably wishes someone else gave it to her. it's fine she can still be one with the fish.
leo: blessing of juno. yes, the roman variant. yes, juno. she is his patron as much as jason and piper's. minor premonition with sudden sickness, nausea, or visions before a bad event. does this suck ass for him? yes. does this also help the others because it's a bright, neon red warning flag? also yes. he thinks it's shitty but wouldn't get rid of it. this is because juno was believed to protect the roman city and warn the citizens before an attack or destructive event. he also gets slight power boosts during june.
nico: blessing of apollo but specifically after the trials of apollo when he sarcastically asks if he has the blessing of will's father to date him. and apollo takes it literally and gives it to him. "that's not what i meant, dipshit—" and it's far too late for that so now he has enhanced hearing and he's pitch perfect and he'll never use this again. ever. but hey it also gives him sunburn immunity so??? no, he's not a member of the seven, but not all of them have blessings so shh it's fine i can put him in this list.
sorry if i left out a character you thought would gain a blessing! you can correct me if you want <33

You find a weird folded paper in your wallet. It describes how 3 months from now a monster will come to your area and you have to deal with it. Below is the list of monsters, one of which you must tick off, lest all of them arrive. Your choices are the following:
Sinless Steve:a dazzling wrestler with long thick messy hair, blessed with the ability of no one realizing when he does a sin or breaks a law or even says something bad. He's also strong enough to walk through steel as if it was tinfoil and durable enough to get run over by a car and be pretty much unscathed, thus he has to turn his powers off to wrestle. Apart from that he is a normal human serial killer through and through. No details were given on why he kills people instead of just robbing a company and buying enough drugs to kill an elephant like a normal person would
An invisible dinosaur with human intelligence. While not specifying the type of dinosaur an image of a car with a stepped on,crushed front was provided so that's a way to gauge its size. The dinosaur was described as a callous, sadistic creature that is very racist towards humans and said its feathers were a mutated ochre color. No mentions of what this mutation is were present in the letter
A strigoi which means a mythical nosferatu looking ass vampiric undead. It is strong as hell and more aggressive than a hyena. In its previous life it was a renowned fisherman and it still uses a fishing rod haunted by his wife. He uses it to catch people. If you hold religious faith holding a religious symbol up will hurt him a little. You could torture some occult knowledge out of him maybe
Hisia:a decrepit looking smelly sludge amoeba that eats plant life. It's a slime monster basically. Sings a weird bellowing song that makes people tremble, those who get close enough having their organs rupturing from the sound. Smells like rotten food,so much so that flies constantly die trying to go towards it
Lebo Nigoryx:a 10 meter tall troll with 4 heads and 9 arms. their blood is acid, their mere breath poison and the touch of their scorched palms is a wildfire, setting aflame all they touch. Weakened by lead. Has a specific grudge on native americans. Or it prefers their taste. Afraid of hawks
Kevin Jameson Jones:a man from a parallel earth with multiple steampunk enhancements in his body. The machine implanted on his chest allows him to change into different mutated forms including an anglerfish form,a really tall hermaphrodite human form,a beastly canine form,a hyper fast feline form,a songbird form and a fire breathing pangolin form. This knock-off Ben ten does human experimentations to test new forms he could make. If you beat him he will willingly transplant his machines to you and then live to serve you as long as you allow him to add more forms. Has baggy eyes and messy black hair but his machines keep him from going pale or frail
Alertharax: an angel of another world that has come to "cleanse the unclean". It looks like a pangolin the size of a rhino, with platinum plates, golden claws and scaled grey skin. Only attacks at night and never appears under the sun's gaze. Seems to be able to mind control young teenagers and children to a minor degree. Speaks calmly but in a shrieky, gravelly voice
The truest warrior:a man that has a life extending item called the pugilist's polyhedron that lets him lengthen his life in purpose of training. Knows most martial arts armed or unarmed. Is supernaturally physically abled due to training for more than 14000 years. Cannibalizes the random people he chooses to fight and always beats. Looks 40 years old,has scars older than your family name. Has a satchel with an unknown amount of weapons that all magically fit there
Ogallon the river scourge:a maroon colored dragon as tall as a rhino with a torso as long as a bus and 12 legs. Swims around in sewers, rivers, lakes and other places of water. Eats humans just to bring misery, hates loudness. His tail has a scorpion stinger with a poison that turns those hit into undead wraiths. He has never lost a battle and never had a scar given to him by anyone who wasn't themselves a dragon. Hoards metals of any kind

Chuuya Nakahara and his clones
The title is a lie; this has almost no Chuuya content, just his clones. Also, this is really long.
The idea is that in Stormbringer, the lab has more than just Chuuya and the clone that dies. A lot more.
You see, the issue with Chuuya, in the eyes of the scientists, is that he can't physically handle using corruption. It harms him, and he can't control it, at least not naturally.
And then an idea is born. If he can't do what they want naturally, then why have him be natural at all? At first, they study him, learn exactly how he works. Then, they made the first prototypes.
There were a lot of issues with the first ones. Really, the first ones were more about learning how to accurately clone rather than making the one they wanted.
The second round were more refined, better clones. In this stage, they focused on transfering the ability with minor adjustments, figuring out what benifited the ability and what didn't.
The third round was the inevitable stage where scientists decided to play god. They wanted a perfect creation, so they eliminated everything that wasn't perfect. Then, they added what they wanted. Experiments on increasing things like lung capacity, skin durability, and regeneration time doomed many clones, but they never intentionally terminated any of the third generation of clones. They wanted to study them all, and watch for long-term issues that might come up later.
When the lab was destroyed, most of these doomed clones perished quickly, but there were, of course, survivors. After all, you can't clone the Chuuya Nakahara and not expect to find at least a couple clones that could adapt enough to escape.
They were in the chambers closest to the exit, away from the point of destruction. They weren't given names, only numbers on their observation chambers. When they escaped the fire, they discover life outside the lab, how other, normal people live, and they would name themselves.
Chamber 1: 'Natsu', like Summer.
The issue with this clone is that his lung capacity enhancements weren't supported well enough and this made breathing rather difficult at times. Along with this, he was supposed to have thicker and more durable skin, but instead, his skin is now just very rough and breaks very often.
Responsible, strategic, and practical. Often pessimistic in his approach to staying grounded in reality, Natsu tends to come off as more menacing and often even mean. He prefers to have a plan with a well-thought-out plan of action before taking said action. He struggles to think or plan on the fly, and his default reaction to an unexpected confrontation is typically either to use For the Tainted Sorrow or to flee and regroup. He is gruff, snippy, and often perceived as angry, shutting the rest of the world out to avoid being manipulated or taken advantage of.
He's survived this long with just his brother, so he hardly though he needed anyone else. They'd only get in the way.
Chamber 2: 'Akiro', like Autumn.
The issue with this clone is his cognitive enhancements caused too much strain, causing him to have several side effects like seizures and migraines. Sometimes, he'll even have hallucinations, the world becoming a mess of garbled color and textures before his eyes.
Creative, wishful, and hopeful. Often perceived as naive, but not gullible. Akiro is a dreamer, a visionary, and an optimist at his core. Compared to Natsu, he has a softer, more delicate personality, intrigued with all the nuances of life. He has this sort of natural, innate ability to captivate others that is completely unexplained. Maybe it's his soft personality, his actions, or the ethereal way he looks, but somehow he seems to enchant those around him. People seemed to listen to what he said, to take comfort in his words like he was some sort of holy saint.
He had a vision of a future where him and his brother wouldn't have to hide, and he couldn't change the society they were hiding from by himself. It really couldn't harm them to make allies, or even friends, along the way.
Natsu and Akiro know that somewhere out there is the original, their predecessor, but they know very little about him. They've nicknamed him 'Haru', which means 'Spring' because spring comes before Summer and Autumn. Akiro has hope of one day meeting Chuuya and learning the name he chose for himself, learning what he likes and what he doesn't like and what he's like. Natsu, on the other hand, is wary of the dangers such a thing might bring them. What if their predecessor disliked the idea of having clones and tried to kill them? What if he used them as body doubles or used them to escape punishment for a crime? Despite this, Natsu is still curious albeit hesitant to meet their 'Haru'.
And, of course, the lineup of Chuuya clones wouldn't be complete without the final product: A perfect, flawless creation who could use corruption and contain a powerful singularity effortlessly.
The Perfect One:
The scientists who made him called him Project 0, the last thing they would work on relating to Chuuya's DNA. He wouldn't ever name himself, but rather be given a name from none other than Fyodor Dostoyevsky: Moraz, a Russian name that means frost in association with Winter, a small nod to the naming system of Natsu and Akiro.
Intelligence, strength, speed, agility, and durability were all things Moraz had been gifted. He really was brilliant, able to correctly predict what situations required brute strength, tactful charisma, or skillful finesse. Power is his toy in the same way manipulation is, allowing him to always get what he wants out of any situation. He never had to 'get serious' due to the vast difference in power between him and everyone else, leading him to act rather dramatically. Of course, loneliness at the top of the world would be a serious issue for the perfect creation, so the scientists completely erased Moraz's ability to have and experience emotions before they finalized his design. Apathetic by design, taught to be sadistic, and trained to only look out for himself, Moraz is by far the most complicated of the clones. He has been taught to use others to his advantage, using charm, flattery, fear, etc. to nudge others in the direction he wants, always weaving a spiderweb of plans, manipulation, and lies millions of steps in front of those around him.
Some additional headcanon-style ideas for Moraz (you definitely can't tell which clone is my favorite, definitely):
he was taken in by Fyodor, having been in a separate section of the lab.
Fyodor taught Moraz everything the scientists never viewed as necessary.
we're talking everything from how to spell his name and tie his shoes to complex math and how to drive.
is more of a member of Rats in the House of the Dead than Decay of The Angels
not really a 'member' of either but he contributes!
has made appearances at the DoA HQ before, he is always in disguise so the other members don't find out Fyodor has a clone of the strongest ability user.
Disguises vary for each use, whether it be Moraz popping by the HQ to give Fyodor something or on a mission unrelated to DoA, but his most common disguises are:
Delivery boy(like food or newspapers or something.) 2/10, very inconspicuous but not enjoyable and he can only hang around for a few minutes.
Secretary 8/10, allows him to interact with the DoA members and other people, but has too much useless paperwork and he finds having to get coffee for people annoying
Fyodor's personal assistant 10/10, gets to pull up a chair to Fyodor's desk and analyze all the data he's been working on, which is fun and initiates a game of 'how many things can I point out that haven't even crossed Fyodor's mind yet?'
Fyodor's relative(exclusively them missions) >>>> everything else, infinity/10, only happens once in a blue moon but it makes Moraz the closest to happy he can get
Moraz was once mistaken for Fyodor's brother on a mission and he realized that the idea of having a relationship like that with anyone, specifically especially Fyodor, appealed to him
like, appealed to him a lot
poor baby just wants to feel human and have relationships like a normal person
unfortunately, 'gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss' best describes his interactions with others
speaking of interactions, how he interacts with the other characters he meets!
really isn't a fan of Nikolai, two main reasons: Nikolai often takes Fyodor's attention from Moraz, and Nikolai is often the center of attention, both of which annoy Moraz
competition is fun for Moraz because it's pretty rare, but fighting for Fyodor's attention really pisses Moraz off
similar with Dazai, but they haven't actually met yet
Moraz has observed most of the cast enough to get a flawless read on them, so despite not having met them he has categories of useful, useless, and entertaining people
the whole prison arc, Moraz got irritated that Dazai got to have fun with Fyodor and he didn't, but Moraz is very careful not to tread on Fyodor's plans
not that he couldn't, it would likely be very easy for Moraz, but he hasn't ever in his 6 years of knowing Fyodor actively tried to undermine him
never bite the hand that feeds you unless you're prepared to feed yourself, right?
if they meet, Moraz and Dazai are either going to be archenemies or best friends, no in between
unless Moraz isn't in disguise bc he looks just like Chuuya and that would mess with Dazai I fear
Moraz is always in disguise, he never has his natural Chuuya looks out lol.
He likes to temporary-dye his hair black like Fyodor, hence the resemblance for them to be mistaken as relatives
I have a vision where he's got the best wolfcut known to man and Fyodor's greasy ah hair is so ashamed it stops being greasy and behaves
this man definitely is one of those self taught makeup magicians
like he's literally shoplifted 99% of his makeup products (the 1% is stuff Fyodor got him bc he mentioned wanting it and Fyodor decided to reward his good behavior)
he's never even seen someone with professionally done makeup
but he still can use his stolen products to transform his face into 1,489,484 different faces
he could be one of those cosplayers that makes you think it's the real character typa skill he got
sorry that was a major tangent all to say bro efficiently uses contour and shi to look nothing like Chuuya
hence why no one recognizes him as Chuuya, and why the DoA probably all have seen different disguises that they'd never connect as the same person
speaking of the DoA, back to relationships
he likes Bram, which Fyodor finds weird and occasionally will discourage
and when I say 'likes', I mean Moraz's sadistic ah thinks Bram's... half situation is quite humorous
bro definitely would make stupid 'half' jokes
other than that, Moraz likes that Bram is chill and could probably get along in a normal group setting
would get annoyed with Bram's disinterest in Moraz though, unless he's on a very sensitive mission Moraz must be the center of attention at all times
would be placated by how Bram doesn't take the attention away from him though, Moraz can survive as long as either Fyodor or a few other people are paying attention to him
absolutely loves Sigma, like its kinda scary, get help
Sigma's just so gullible, so easily manipulated, bent so perfectly to Moraz's will, and controlled completely
and when Sigma realizes he's been played?
he still comes running back! he's just like a little puppy!
Moraz refers to Sigma as 'Sobachka' (Little dog/puppy in Russian) when speaking with Fyodor so often that Fyodor has to stop himself from calling Sigma that in person
poor Sigma, he doesn't even know Moraz's name
they've met just about every time Moraz has entered the DoA HQ
Moraz was in a different disguise just about every time though, so Sigma doesn't even know this man is absolutely trolling his ah
not particularly fond of Fukuchi, but he keeps that to himself
the constant betrayal that mf pulls on everyone isn't something Moraz wants around him or Fyodor
Mushitaro prefers to communicate with Moraz rather than Fyodor bc he doesn't realize how much of a threat Moraz is
Moraz pretends to be ability-less with most people, so Mushitatro isn't super crazy for assuming Moraz is weak
antagonistic love/hate relationship between them
half the time they are best friends, and the other half Fyodor has to step in before Mushitaro tries to fight Moraz LMAO
Moraz never initiates a fight, either waiting for the other person's move or an order from Fyodor
ladies don't start fights, but boy oh boy can Moraz finish them
genuinely doesn't know what to do with Chuuya
like does he want to reach out? kill him? trap him in a basement somewhere and study him like an insect in a jar? no idea
Moraz would have so much fun messing with the PM
would be friends with Elise were she real
def would make Mori genuinely tweak and would scare the shi outta him
he might be a little flirty as a means to an end but idk
Akutagawa probably wouldn't like him lol
Moraz goes into the PM on a mission as Chuuya?
Kouyo sees him and goes, 'that's kinda odd for Chuuya...' to literally ANYTHING that differentiates Moraz from Chuuya
Kouyo is the only one to realize it's not Chuuya without help
she still offers Moraz friendship, just because she cares for Chuuya and Moraz looks like Chuuya
Moraz is surprised
very very surprised
but he still replies with something like 'maybe another time'
Drama Queen he is>>>>
charisma buffs frfr
will play with the emotions and insecurities of ANYONE
idc who you are YOU AREN"T SAFE
plays the victim a LOT. can cry on demand
he'll stub his toe and be completely unharmed bc he was designed as a literal weapon and still act like the world is ending just bc he wasn't given enough attention today
major mood swings bc he literally fakes all of his emotions, think Douma from Demon Slayer
will love bomb people <3 'wow, Moraz likes me, he just gave me unlimited compliments!' LMAO he's using your gullible ah to get what he wants
really good stealth factor
is a good thief for no reason at all, why does he need to steal and where did he learn such a thing? no idea
OP sleight of hand
OP everything actually
please help he's stuck in my brain and the only way to get him out is to explain all that
Domestic Fyodor and Moraz>>>>>
I can see it, tell me you see the vision

I have read some of your long and comprehensive meta on symptoms of lycantrophy, but this is more of a headcanon question:
Remus suggests Bill might have some “wolfish traits” after his attacks. Could werewolves in their human form have enhanced sense of smell or hearing, or immunity for some water borne diseases, or other “wolfish traits”?
Would they be immune to Polyjuice just like Hagrid? Could they be immune to other potions and poisons? Or even spells or curses?
There’s also the moon factor - some people attribute Remus peakiness to the dread he feels before every transformation, some to the “pull of the moon”. So much to explore.
What I sense is that people are trying to give an overlooked side to lycantrophy that might not be that bad or painful, and sometimes I rather like that.
I’ve read some interesting works (some good some bad) that indicated that lycanthropes carry a magic of their own, more intuitive and primal. Personally, I find that exciting to explore, as the myth of the werewolf is really ancient and could be linked to some really cool lore. I also like the idea that shouting latin words and shooting sparks from a wand is only one way of doing things, and that magic itself can be manifested in more mysterious ways that prejudiced, self-important wizards don’t bother to explore.
Half my opinion and half asking for yours, the lycanthrope expert! Beyond uncomfortable pathological symptoms, how do you think the biology of a non transformed werewolf might change?
Thanks for reading my ramblings B^) I'm gonna engage with everything you brought up because thats what I feel like doing, its really really fun to talk HCs and theories
WEREWOLF HCs AND THEORIES
Like... 2000 words or something idk
The Moons Effect My theory is that symptoms are caused not by the Full Moon itself but a culmination of magic the moon puts into the atmosphere, getting stronger through the month until the Werewolf 'pops'.
You don't need to be touched by the Full Moonlight to transform, it happens regardless of where you hide... so it's in the air.
Yet Remus seems to be triggered by Moonlight when nobody expected him to be in PoA. (Part 3 is my theory on that in more detail.)
When they get symptoms before the Full Moon, even during the day, its like something is building up in them.
Their Lycanthropy (Dark Magic curse or Virus or both… perhaps a Virus with its own magic?) seems to feed on the Moon's energy.
I'm sure Remus feels dread before his Full Moon, but I think his peakiness is more than that. I doubt someone like Fenrir would feel that dread - but still has recognizable symptoms pre-Full Moon by Lyall (according to the 'Remus Lupin' Pottermore page)
'Pull of the Moon' is a good phrase. I like that. The moon is getting stronger and their Lycanthropy is responding in their cells, affecting them physically, preparing…
What are 'Wolfish Traits' in canon...? It is SO FRUSTRATING we don't hear more of this, ONLY that Bill likes his steak bloody. The story is teasing me. Leading me on. REMUS WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'WOLFISH TRAITS' DARLING PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME HANGING YOU FUCKING FLIRT
Remus is not ''obviously'' a werewolf. He puts a lot of work into that. Whenever people have worked him out (James/Sirius, Snape, Hermione) it has been based on his disappearances, not on how he looks or acts otherwise.
+ There are vague symptoms pre-Full Moon (as Harry notices in a memory and that Lyall Pottermore thing), + Weakness and loss of weight post-Full Moon (though that could be directly tied to exhaustion from transforming) + And of course - the transformation itself. The psychotic break of becoming a violent bite-hungry wolf. ...Thats it. Thats is all we know about what traits are definitely caused by Lycanthropy.
I can only assume Bill goes through some minor version of this: Maybe he feels a bit off around the Full Moon. Maybe he gets a bit hairy, maybe the moon gives him insomnia and a bad mood… ...I like to think so. As you said - sometimes its nice to think about over-looked sides of Lycanthropy that aren't 'as bad'.
After all, while still horrible, the Full Moon isn't the most major 'disabling' trait Remus suffers. Sometimes he even LIKES the transformation. No, the worst symptom... Is probably the fatigue. Even on Wolfsbane he needs multiple days off work, feeling too horrible to show up for Christmas lunch. The thing that stops him from working, that reveals what he is to a bigoted society, extending beyond a night of delirium and pain into days of suffering… are his 'less bad' symptoms. (That's something often overlook with disabilities: it's often not the loudest symptom that are the biggest problem - but the management of them, the complications of it, side effects from treatments, poor mental health from dealing with it physically and socially... I love you Remus Lupin)
Potential Wolfish Traits There is no evidence that, even transformed, Werewolves have heightened senses. Pottermore says their eyes and snouts are 'more human' than a True Wolf - though that doesn't like… mean much. They could still have wolf-like smell and night vision and stuff. Or they could not. Apparently Muggle and Wizard blood tastes different - whether that is Lycanthropic instinct, heightened taste/smell or sensing magic… who knows.
In any case, I don't think in Human form they do. If Remus had heightened senses he could surely have smelled Scabbers. He could have smelled Padfoot. If heightened senses are a known trait then surely Remus could be sent out to pick up Sirius' scent and track him. (unless it isn't quite strong enough for that...)
In terms of fun HC - I do like it. B^) + I like the idea of Remus being able to hear people approach his office from further away, so he is always prepared. + I like the idea of him being not-so-good at potions because the smells are overwhelming. + I like the idea of him, and all Werewolves, being more active in the dark without Lumos because they can see better. Sneaky.
We get hints that there are 'Wolfish traits' one can tell a Werewolf by, even when in Human form… and I like the idea of them being subtle habits. Or you just blow a dog whistle and they flinch.
There's more evidence against this than for it, though. I don't think it is canon… but it is fun :) In any case it would most likely get stronger around the Full Moon and weaken by New Moon, as all his symptoms do.
THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT MIGHT HAVE SOME CANON MERIT THOUGH: Magical resilience; Physical dexterity/strength; Healing; Greying.
Fenrir seems to take more powerful magical hits. Maybe he's just a badass. (He is. Punk grandpa is an icon tbh.)
Fenrir can run FAST on four legs in his Human form. Normally people run kinda slow and awkwardly on four legs. Added strength and flexibility from Lycanthropy...? Perhaps he's just a REALLY intense furry and has trained meticulously. No shade - that's impressive
Remus was attacked around the neck and clawed at by Sirius Black, enough to scare him off from a bunch of human prey - but shows no injury the next day. Maybe Sirius didn't break skin. Maybe accelerated healing is just a Transformation thing. Maybe... Lycanthropy wants to help keep it's host alive.
What do Remus and Fenrir have in common...? Grey hair. What colour is werewolf fur? Grey. Could this just be that Fenrir is old/used to be stressed, and Remus is so stressed now that he is going grey? Yes. But honestly if most werewolves go grey early from the stress of life... that's kinda a symptom by itself anyway.
4. Polyjuice Polyjuice is a dangerous potion - as we saw with Hermione. Cat fur messed her form up and prevented her from shifting back easily, because it was a different animal. It seems the only way to cleanly shift your physical appearance is with 'matching' species DNA or whatever.
Hagrid would be the same: he is a different animal. If Hermione became part-cat when she had cat fur and got stuck… I think if someone had Hagrid's hair they would become part-half-giant and get stuck. (same for Hagrid into a full-human, his Giant genes wouldn't know what to do.)
Remus is full-human. I don't think there would be any issue.
Whether or not someone disguised as him would have Lycanthropy symptoms… I'm not sure, but I don't think so. The potion takes into account physical damage and deformities. It copied Harry's eyesight, Alastor's amputation and disfigurements… but copying an infection? If you took hair from someone who had the Flu, would you feel the Flu when you turned into them?
I don't think so - because things like infection and viruses are living creatures in their own right. Like you wouldn't sprout head lice if you turned into a kid with head lice. (Whether virus' are 'alive' is debated a bit, though I see no reason not to consider them alive just because they need to be parasitic to cells to function.)
If Lycanthropy is more like a curse than alive - does a curse transfer through Polyjuice? I doubt it. No curse on Alastor is injested by Barty through his hair. Magic is very intent-based, and the intent of Lycanthropy is spit-to-blood.
Also I just think its more interesting if, like personality and habits, you had to pretend to be sick to pass at the person you disguise as.
HOWEVER - if you took werewolf FUR… Polyjuice takes into account ones current physical state, right? Remus' physical state changes dramatically, painfully, magically - into a wolf-like creature.
A change has happened that is different to what a non-infected human can experiences. Taking werewolf fur, I think, would result in a cat-Hermione that gets stuck in a non-human shape. Same with Animagus fur/feathers/etc: they are humans, but they are in a shape and size that is not what a human that hasn't magically trained their body through the procedure can mimic.
The question I want answered is whether Minerva can have cat-fur Polyjuice and turn into a different looking cat. She's on the registry as a tabby, so she sneaks around disguised as a Calico…
Wolf Magic Magic isn't just latin words and wand sparks. Wands are a European thing - they aren't used much in Africa etc, where they use their hands more. We even see that, as a Wizard becomes more skilled, they don't need to say anything. Wandless magic is advanced. it seems wand movements, words and even wands themselves are just tools to aid in learning, to focus ones magic.
You can follow a recipe to bake a cake - but if you're good at baking, you can just throw that shit together, experiment on the fly.
Since Werewolves are a very old phenomenon with a magical root - whether that be some ancient curse, or Lycanthropy is some sort of magical creature virus - magic only available to Werewolves sounds pretty cool.
I don't like how it further differentiates werewolves from other humans, because the theme is that they ARE humans like everyone else and are being treated as 'other'. I wouldn't want to make them superheroes by accident, yknow?
But like… there's a million cool ways to take werewolf magic. I like the idea of utilizing the magic within the virus/curse itself. It's evidently incredibly powerful, physical, draws and stores energy from the moon, using a human as its puppet to spread itself... What if there were ways to utilize parts of that…? A symbiotic relationship with ones parasite, for better or for worse?
6. Biological changes of a Werewolf - headcanons B^)
I'm a big fan of the idea that Remus is living unhealthily by stifling his Lycanthropy while Fenrir is living healthy by indulging it. Remus is thin, pale, bags under his eyes - despite being young. Fenrir is rangy, tall, heavy, strong - despite being older.
It is a negative experience to take Wolfsbane and stifle the transformation - it is a positive experience to run around with Animagus friends and embrace it.
Lycanthropy is a severe thing. Once a month, EVERY month, you go through a complete physical change. It is painful to endure, you get into fights or self-harm - and Remus at least comes out thinner. There's no way that doesn't do anything. Especially as you get older.
So, my HC, is that Remus - being unhealthy - gets a lot of aches and pains. His body doesn't transform well. + He doesn't eat enough because he wants to be as weak as possible. It's safer. + His fatigue afterwards is worse. His small bones like his fingers sometimes don't set right, costing him more in potions... unless he just puts up with it. + His Wolfish-Form looks like shit. Patchy fur, thin, always panting... + He looks a little wonky from a childhood spent transforming every month - on less food than he should have had. Like he is on the short-average side, but has a stretched spine that makes him look a little taller. Nothing much visually - but can give him joint pain.
Fenrir DELIGHTS in his form. I don't think he has aches or pains much at all - his body transforms well. He encourages it so much, as he gets older, it's leaking into his Human form. + He is described as having 'whiskers' - and I take that literally. Nobody else has their facial hair described in that way, and he is a hairy man with long unkempt hair - he aint shaving... and somehow I doubt he has a patchy enough beard to be called 'whiskers'. I kinda think he straight up has whiskers. + Hairy. He has enough hair to be called fur. + Wolfish form is epic. Strong, noble, heavy, vicious, huge... + I can accept he sharpens his nails - but his teeth? He sharpens his teeth? I think they're natural, because sharpening teeth makes them weaker. His body is getting used to biting outside the Full Moon. + His fatigue afterwards is better than most, but his pre-Full Moon symptoms are stronger, his body AMPED UP in anticipation. + His body is more flexible, more used to different movements, that biting, scratching, prowling, walking on four limbs... its easier. + His voice is ravaged. A unique coarse, rough, barking voice.
Fenrir is a chad who can chase down a rabbit on all fours and catch it in his teeth - while Remus grunts a few times trying to tie his laces. Fenrir shows the signs of his Lycanthopy outwardly as he gets older, while Remus shows them internally as he fails to look after himself.
Regardless of how 'healthy' a werewolf is: + Snarling, growling, whining... all something you get used to. Deep chesty rumbles. A few years of being a werewolf and you're so practiced at it it's second nature. Fenrir embraces it - Remus takes careful control of his emotions so he NEVER slips up. + Hairier in general. Even Remus. They just have more body hair. Because I am biased towards typically masculine traits? Yes. + The bloody meat thing. A heightened desire for protein, better at tasting different things in meat and blood. Safer to eat, too.

TLG SPOILERS
AU idea where, after Artemis perishes, the wide scale magical effects, plus the worldwide sightings of panicked fairies and general supernatural-ness of the whole paradox and it’s effects on the world forces the LEP and the wider fairy government to reveal itself.
And it goes.. shockingly well.
They’re able to semi-integrate. Some fairies get incredibly interested in human culture and vice versa, they set up ambassadors, the human governments secretly think about war, the fairy governments prepare to defend, but they agree that they’re technologically beat and it would be against the wishes of the majority of their constituents. So they draft a peace treaty, and slowly the council gives them more and more trust.
There’s an explanation for the techno crash published publicly, and it is a doozy. It obviously doesn’t say *everything*, but it gives a brief history of what happened and what led to that point. (Albeit gaming the council in a much more positive light)
It also gives a short background on all the major players in the saving of the world, and it gives humanity a look at the few of them who knew all along.
The world gets a picture of a very idealised Artemis: the boy who sacrificed himself for the greater good, tortured genius and hero.
He becomes somewhat of a small celebrity, his name circles the globe, but he’s dead, and so there’s not much to keep up with. He quickly falls out of conversation, aside from a decently sized and dedicated fandom almost, who form ideas of what he was like, despite never having met him, creating this warped version of him based on their own desires and interpretations. (Almost like the Disney Artemis) they form para-social relationships with him and his grieving friends and family.
But life goes on for roughly six months, as fairies move above ground, some humans even move below, integrating some communities slowly, reading aspects of culture and enhancing each others technology. There are some bigots, who believe in annihilation and/or segregation, but they are the minority and incidents of cross-species violence are uncommon and handled with care.
But then Artemis’s gets revived. And his name shoots back into the public consciousness. (And in this AU probably less, not entirely gone, just less severe amnesia, for the ease of writers and to make the contrast more meaningful) Before he’d been in newspapers and on TV, he was a child prodigy unlike any the world had seen since Mozart, but this is a new level. Word gets out quickly and soon there’s reporters at his door. His parents try to send them away as butler tends to him, trying to keep him from getting overstimulated, but he can see them from the windows.
Not only is he dealing with the physical, mental, and emotional issues that revival comes with, but he’s been thrust into a whole new world, where fairies and humans live side by side and he’s a household name.
Not only is his family dealing with the grief of losing their son, the joy of getting their son back, and watching him struggle to find himself again, but they’re now having to dodge reporters in shops and restaurants. Angeline even encounters one waiting outside her regular spa.
And now they deal with the rage of strangers, thinking they’re entitled to publicise and profit off of their most vulnerable moments as a family.
Things get better, it would take a while, but they do. But they’re never the same. They’re better than they were at their worst, maybe they’re even better than they were at their best, but it will never be the same again.

Any fanfic writers getting back into DA wanna compare notes on magic, I’ve had my head in my hands for like a month 🫠
Magic
-As per dragon age, tenets of magic:
1.)Magic comes from the Fade, the Fade exist regardless of mages.
2.)Magic runs in family
bloodlines, like genes it can skip generations.
3.) all mages are connected to the Fade and can pass into it in dreams, although being aware of the Fade and controlling dreams is a rare skill(Ex.Feynriel).
4.)all mages can become possessed by spirits/demons from the fade, it’s denizens. Those possessed by demons become Abominations. Those possessed by spirits can coexist with them, although they may take on traits of the spirit or affect the nature of the spirit.
4.5)Mages can communicate with spirits/demons when awake also, although it usually requires a honed spell(Ex.Rezaren), sacrifice(Ex.Merrill) or natural talent(Ex.Spirit Healer Discrp). Those who can detect and speak with spirits are called Spirit Mediums/Seers(Ex.Rhys/Isabelas mother).
5.) Mana is a mages ability to use and control magic. Mana, like stamina, has a limit. Mana, like stamina, increases with training. It is possible for a mage to injure or kill themselves from mana-overexertion. Lyrium increases mana temporarily.
5.5a)Magic affects the users physical body(Ex.Anders intro scene).
5.5b)Magic has a limit and a range. Magic is difficult to use without a staff unless trained. It needs a focus(Ex.Dark Fortress Comic Final Fight/Wraiths of Tevinter Intro Scenes).
6.)Lyrium resists magic but also enhances it. {LYRIUM BURNS THROUGH MAGIC}
7.)Teleportarion, resurrection and physically entering the Fade are known to be impossible.
*NON-MAGES CAN ALSO BE POSSESSED BY SPIRITS/DEMONS.
THINGS DA DOES TOO MUCH:
-Mages can draw on a sudden unlimited well of power when in danger.
-All mages can use blood magic on the first try.
-All mages can become possessed by spirits/demons while awake, on command, when in danger.
Me.)
1.)Most circle mages aren’t very strong, even though what they’re doing is usually more complicated(because of glyphs). Their mana levels are low and while they’re drilled in a curriculum, the materials they have access to are limited. Enchanters naturally can do more improvised spells and have more mana but even then their knowledge is forcibly curbed after a certain point to prevent them growing too powerful with age.
2.)Apostates can either do a little of everything or one school magic very well because it comes naturally to them.
2.5)A MAGES MINDSET AFFECTS THE MAGIC THAT COMES NATURALLY TO THEM.
3.)Channeling magic through the body can damage it.
4.)Magic is done more effectively when using/knowing pre-written glyphs. The language of it is lost, maybe except in Tevinter, but certain runes mean the same thing consistently and forming them in different combinations has different effects.
4.5a)Circle mages are taught to form the glyphs they plan to use out of light, so they’re trained to do the same thing consistently.
4.5b)Magic can also be ‘felt out’ but the results vary based on skill and/or emotional state.
4.)Spirit/Healing magic and Entropy Magic are two sides of the same coin. Both invoke minor spirits. Healing mends by flowing the Fade through people, and Entropy damages by flowing the Fade through people. Both are the ‘feel it out’ type of magic.
-I made Levi experience Entropy Magic as ‘sour’ but every mage probably has their own sense of the different schools.
5.)Necromancy is Not a ‘feel it out’ type of magic and takes a lot of preparation and spell work to do without injury.
6.)’Common schools’ of magic are common (sans Tevinter) because they’re easily understood and passed around- ‘mages burn down their house’ is a common sentiment, so many mages first spell is fire. But, if the concept was widened there would be more variety naturally.
7.) Blood magic is so strong because it’s offering a sacrifice. A spirit/demon possession is a mental sacrifice. Blood magic is a physical sacrifice. It’s about fortitude, not intention though. It’s why blood magic can be enacted using someone else’s blood and why a spirit/demon can possess the unwilling.
Things I’m Not Touching:
-Magic is like breaking the concept of reality? Don’t dream it be it?? The scope of this is way too big for what dragon age actually puts on the page.

I feel like maybe I should speak a little more on Flint. You know he's grumpy catman with dilf energy, but what else? Well, one key thing I don't think I went into detail on was his backstory! Some TWS: Mentions of emotional, verbal, physical and mental abuse (Basically all the abuse). Torture, human experimentation, cannibalism, animal abuse/death, body horror? It's not exactly super graphic, but it could be upsetting, so please be mindful.
Tumblr media
Flint Douglas was born in 1952 in what was basically a nowhere town in Michigan to an alcoholic mother and a nobody father who died when he was young, leaving Flint's mother to serial date and basically never remarry. Over time, however, she ended up dating a man named Richard when Flint was 17, and this man pretty much loathed Flint-- often restricting his access to the house's food. Flint's mother turned a blind eye to this as her alcoholism got worse, leaving her emotionally abusive and dependent on her son for emotional support. Stuck in this household with nowhere else to go, Flint turned inward, often daydreaming and getting lost in a fantasy world, leading him to suffering in his classes and having to drop out to get a job. Along with feeling disconnected from his general reality, he grew more jaded and cynical. Two years later, when Flint turned nineteen, Richard ended up killing a man in a back ally brawl that he then proceeded to frame Flint for. Considering DNA testing and forensics wasn't really a thing in this era, Richard got away with this rather easily. With the level of brutality exhibited by this particular crime, Flint was very quickly put on death row when he was arrested. At the time, the US military was also going through with a series of experiments called Project Khimaira, meant to produce the perfect blend of humans for the sole purpose of being used in warfare. The methods used were an unknown mix of Alchemy/black magic and medicine with the results often being mutated and deformed creatures that died within the first week-- destabilizing and turning into what amounted to a pile of mush. Due to the fact that they needed bodies to test this on, that no one would really miss, the "undesirables" of society, they were taking people from the streets, orphans, and most importantly, death row inmates.... Flint just happened to be one of the people who were taken because he was a healthy young man, and would likely be more successful. So, after a year of prison, he was transported to a government facility where he stayed for around five years. Enduring a whole battery of tests and experiments meant to enhance his abilities to the absolute limit of human performance. Along with that he was often cut open, or injected with serums who's results ranged from excruciating pain to the effects of drugs like meth. On his second year in, he gained what amounted to minor regeneration, a more "diluted" version of what Anderson has, leaving him able to recover faster than a normal man and healing from things others would find fatal. The year after? The facility finally went through with attempting to fuse Flint with a pure Maine Coon, the process itself inflicting terrible pain from his DNA basically being rearranged on a molecular level. He was the only successful chimera to come of this program, and all I can say is that the woman that ran this shit was an abusive, narcissistic asshole that caused Flint to have a hatred/phobia towards women and the word 'mongrel.'
If you were wondering how he lost his eye, it happened when some of the scientists took it as a sample to see how his eye structure differed from a normal human. It was expected that it would regenerate kinda like Anderson, but it never did. Two years later, he's dropped into the middle of the United Kingdom, in a remote area of land for a survivability test, implanted with a tracker. They put him here so they wouldn't be associated with his discovery if he was found dead-- considering this was meant to be a secret program. Fortunately, the tracking chip was broken after he decided he was going to have a territorial dispute with a literal pack of wolves. He spent around five to six years in the wild, bereft of human contact outside of killing livestock and getting shot at, having a near deadly encounter with a farmer that resulted in him being shot five times. Over time, he grew so unused to people, that his inhuman instincts eventually began seeing them as viable prey... safe to say, he has eaten around three people. He's also eaten rotten roadkill with basically zero consequences. When word began to spread of this "creature" terrorizing the country side, the queen sent for Hellsing to deal with it, thinking that it could potentially have something to do with vampires. Considering Alucard is in his basement era, a squad of 10 men was sent to hunt Flint down. This ended in the death of four of them, due to the fact that even a starved Flint can kick through bone and run faster than an Olympic athlete. However, instead of killing him, he was captured and taken to Hellsing Manor because they didn't knw what the hell he was, and they wanted to make sure more of what Flint was didn't exist. So...He spent a decent time in custody under Arthur Van Helsing, working for the organization with restrictions on what he could do, where he could go, etc. The cat bell collar was basically a form of insult as well as a protection, Hellsing's method of claiming him as their property, so he couldn't be repossessed by the US Millitary upon the discovery that he was actually still alive. After Arthur's death, he's finally introduced to Integra and Alucard (both of whom, he very much didn't like at first). Which leaves us in the canon era with a 47 year old Flint who very much is sick of life and just wants to maul things. that's the general gist, anyway. I'm not that great at writing and this was kinda a ramble LMAO.
Breaking news: local man only finds a hint of peace after he hits forty.

nhw tide powerset, copy-pasted from discord (feeling too lazy to fix any mistakes rn <3)
tide was Literally Created To Be A Hero. thats . really all he is for a while. which means he is VERY GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES. GOD. cannot state enough just how much i think the elementals should be like. forces of nature (ha) but like. especially tide and magma. you see them in a fight and the instinct driven lizard monkey brain goes "oh fuck oh shit im in danger time to go into fight or flight mode"
that being said i dont think they really .. synergize with anyone outside of each other. there are different reasons for each of them but i think like… the reason the elementals were so successful in their time is because they work REALLY FUCKING WELL together (because theyre all clones of one guy so technically theyre the same person but theyre NOT but you get what i mean). they are all equals with each other but not necessarily with other people. so i think.. when the elementals were all together i think they almost always worked as a team and not much with anyone else, but after they broke apart… i think tide and magma stay pretty solo for their respective endbringers. they might team up with each other occasionally or when theyre against simurgh (im thinkin they can do really fun things with steam clouds) but other than that theyre kind of on their own. well. magma i think works with seismic a lot when he shows up. but he doesnt always show up. remind me after this to expand on the current elementals dynamic bc god i think about them a lot.
all this to say i think tide works solo most of the time and he has his reasons for it but i think that makes it even more impactful when he eventually starts teaming up w mark in fights (ooough tidalwave forever)
ros helped me out w the classification we've i think decided on shaker/mover for him . also like. thinker 1 wetsuit powers which is mostly a joke but also i kind of want it to be serious bcause it would be funny for ME . also im really bad at the number system so im not assigning him numbers. hes sooo powerful though. not enough that he can take on an endbringer ALONE bc that would be insane. but enough that he can fight leviathan for like. 10-20 unbroken minutes and not get immediately killed
ok ok specific powers here we go:
Hydrokinesis: pretty. obvious i guess. mans can control water. i thiiiink for now this is gonna be limited to liquid water and not ice. maybe in conjunction with someone elses power they could freeze his water but i dont think hed be able to control it much after that i think it would just keep whatever momentum it had before. also i think he is limited to liquids that are almost entirely water? as much as i love the potential of bloodbender tide i dont see a way to like. write him actually using that without it being sooooo so so awful and not in a fun way. but with things that r like… mixtures? solutions? whatever? as long as theyre mostly water i think he can partially control them. not as strong as water but he can. control the water In Them but but the Substance. does that mean anything? im thinking abt the part in burn your bridges where he uses whatever liquid was in the tubes to slow their falls. but he didnt like. use it to carry them to a stretcher or anything he just made sure they didnt faceplant onto the concrete.
Breathing underwater: also self explanatory. mans got gills. i like the idea of each of the clones having veryyyyy minor physical alterations. tides got gills and little fins. magmas got weird colored eyes and stone (lava rock) skin in a few places.
enhanced movement in water: i think this is partially because he can control water, he can use it to propel himself in whatever direction. create currents if hes fully underwater and stuff. i think he can make it through leviathans storm pretty easily. well,,, not easily because he cant really do anything about wind. but the rain/waves dont affect him as bad as they would other capes . also he can do the cool thing he can do in canon where he like. surfs on a wave. i rlly like that visual.
I FEEL LIKE I AM. FOGETTING SOMTHING HERE. SO IF U HAVE LIIIIKE SPECIFIC INTERACTION OR IMAGERY QUESTIONS I PROBABLY GOTCHU BUT HERES WHAT IVE GOT OFF THE DOME RN
also a bonus potential leviathan battle scene <3:
I think the wards' first endbringer fight Should Be leviathan and I don't think they were supposed to go but they did anyway and virion tried to copy tides power and he had a fucking. dad panic moment about it. full on dead stop in the middle of the fight you boys SHOULDNT BE HERE go home. but eventually imprint copies his power anyway and Tide realizes like. OK. he won't be in as much danger if he can do the same things as me. and that's the ONLY reason he doesn't fucking abandon the leviathan fight (insane thought for him to even consider) and get them out to safety

DmC: Devil May Cry Thoughts
So I finally decided to experience the DmC Reboot, and my overall verdict is: Not As Bad As I Expected.
I took notes, so let’s break it down. This is over 3 pages in a doc btw, so buckle up I guess. Hope it was worth the wait.
What I Liked
Level Design
This is probably the game’s biggest strength. Great amount of variety, and the atmosphere of each level was great.
Limbo is a really cool concept.
The twin’s special abilities (like Dante’s grappling hook type weapons) made for some really cool platforming.
The typography really works in this game. Like, words and phrases appearing in the environment to taunt Dante or just provide additional flavor to whatever is happening. Very comic book.
The Bob Barbas boss battle had a really cool neon techy aesthetic, which isn’t something I would have expected for this game. Neat!
The game show levels leading up to Lilith’s boss fight were cool too!
The Succubus boss battle made really good use of the environment.
Enemy Design
General demon mobs are automaton-like, which is pretty neat. I’m not a fan of that sort of aesthetic, but I respect the creative direction.
All the bosses had decent variety in terms of design and battle mechanics.
Item/Weapon Design
I think this was another pretty strong point for this game
It’s a small thing, but the designs of the orbs were nice.
Rebellion’s shape shifting is neat. Rebellion doesn’t really have any cool powers like Yamato does in the mainline games, so it was nice to see it do something besides being a big sword.
AQUILA IS SUCH A COOL WEAPON
Ebony and Ivory were pretty, but didn't seem particularly useful what with all the other weapons Dante had at his disposal.
Misc
Combat looks dynamic and satisfying, and I can see the influence it had on DMC5’s combat.
The voice acting is good
Occasionally, it was genuinely funny
The Vergil gameplay at the end? INCREDIBLE.
The music was good. Nothing really stood out to me, but it did enhance the game.
What I Disliked
Lilith
I really hated her character design. And I’m not saying it wasn’t effective character design, or that it was bad. I just personally didn’t like it.
Her weirdly pulled skin, the corset piercings, the way her skin bunches up around the tops of her gloves… ugh.
And maybe that’s the point! I’m probably supposed to find it offputting! But I hated looking at her.
Pregnancy is a really intense squick of mine, so all that was just no! No! No! No!
I wish I could unsee her boss battle
Minor Design Complaints
Dante’s DT design was a little disappointing, especially considering how well designed everything else is.
Yamato’s design was also lackluster.
Misc
The fatphobia was disappointing but not surprising, especially considering the year this was released.
Mundus sex scene… ew
The sniper abortion scene wasn’t as shocking as I expected it to be, but it sure was there
The way Vergil pronounces Yamato lol. Ya-MATT-o
Pronouncing Mundus differently was a little weird. The mundus amungus….
Mundus’ boss fight was uninspired. Wow, a giant statue trying to squash Dante on a platform. Never seen that one before.
A lot of this game has a ‘gross’ factor, which I’m not really into. That’s just personal preference, because I do think it mostly works in context. Just not my thing.
Characters:
In general, I found the characters to be pretty one-dimensional.
The Twins
The two of them working together in Mundus’ tower, one in each world, was really cool. If you’re going to have twins in a setting with two worlds overlapping, having one in each is (chefs kiss). Being able to play as both of them to achieve the goal would have made it even better.
I really enjoyed the scenes they had together, but there just weren’t enough of them.
It was nice seeing them share physical affection (in the form of a mutual shoulder pat)
But “I loved you, brother” just didn’t have the emotional impact I wanted it to have.
And the issue is really… they’re strangers. They may be brothers, but they barely know each other. Their relationship just didn’t get as much attention and buildup as it should have.
Vergil
He’s so friendly and helpful sounding at the beginning, it was kind of cute.
But it is revealed he’s pretty cold and calculating, willing to sacrifice Kat because saving her wasn’t worth the risk to him.
His mad hax lol
give him his hat back, cowards
Even though he was carrying Yamato around, I wasn’t sure he could even fight until the very end. He just seemed so weak. The thing about the twins is that they’re equals on the physical level. IDK, it was just weird to see a Vergil that didn’t fight.
honestly, a way more interesting character than Dante.
Dante
A devil-may-care character that learns to give a shit? Always a classic.
As unnecessarily edgy as he seems, his poor coping mechanisms make sense for how he grew up.
Kat
An assault survivor, because of course she is. It’s just disappointing. Was it necessary? Was it??
Overall, she’s fine. No real strong feelings about her.
Despite having a ‘role’ (guiding Dante through Limbo and helping him escape it), her job could have been given to Vergil and the game would have worked fine. Maybe even better.
Sparda and Eva
Having Sparda outlive Eva and be responsible for hiding the twins was an interesting choice. I also like that we have confirmation for what happened to him (eternal torture).
I would have expected an angel and demon to be a power couple, but they seemed to have been beaten pretty easily. For plot, I guess.
The Story
I wasn’t really all that invested, tbh. There’s nothing wrong with the story, but at the same time there isn’t really anything notable about it (except Vergil’s bit).
It’s a hack n’ slash, so I’m not expecting a masterpiece, but it was pretty one note.
WHY is there a war between demons and angels? Where did the Nephilim come from, how many were there, what role did they play? More importantly, why should I care about any of this?
The twins avenging their parents should have felt like… like taking on a mantle to continue their cause, and I really didn’t get any of that. There wasn’t any weight of legacy. And the main games handle that so well.
Overall, I just felt like there wasn’t enough emotional impact, especially between the brothers. There wasn’t enough time to really grow to care about the three protagonists, imo.
Dante's character arc is... learning to give a shit, I guess, but even then, his decision to be the protector of humans feels really out there. Did he really show that much growth throughout the game for this declaration to really feel deserved? Rewarding?
Likewise, Vergil's shift from revolutionary to would-be king is equally abrupt. Like maybe the entire point of it was to be out of left field, but from a storytelling standpoint... an out-of-nowhere twist like that just doesn't feel rewarding. Having more time with Vergil as Dante throughout the course of the game, to have a subtle buildup so that when you look back and say 'the signs were all there and I missed them', that would have been really good. Like, disregarding the fact that any fan of DMC knows Vergil is going to abandon everything for power.
Vergil’s gameplay and story at the end was a lot more compelling than the rest of the game combined. It’s literally the only thing I’m interested in learning more about.
Final Thoughts
The game was… alright. Not as bad as I expected it to be, but I’m not sure I would call it good, either. There were a lot of really interesting concepts that just didn’t reach their full potential. The ‘hard’ elements like design and combat were there, but the characters and story were lacking. Making a DMC game heavily influenced by the Divine Comedy is a great idea!
I think that there are two things that really held this game back.
Making it a DMC game. As its own thing, it could have been really good. Could they have told a story based on the Divine Comedy with twins named Dante and Vergil without stepping on DMC’s toes? Probably not. But with some changes, it could have worked.
The marketing. I didn’t see it in real time, but we’ve all heard of the weirdly homophobic marketing for this game. And I think that really soured people’s opinions of the game. Still does, tbh. ‘Dante is not a gay cowboy’ as if that isn’t his entire appeal….
Anyway, I don’t think it quite deserves the hate it gets. If you go in knowing you’re not getting a ‘real’ DMC game, it’s not bad.
Rating: 5/10

Transformers One Main Cast As Fate/Grand Order Characters
This movie has given me such severe brain rot, I just had to write something for it. Once again this post DOES CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS so read at your own discretion.
Orion Pax/Optimus Prime
• This time around I imagine him being a Ruler
• Given how it is normally a class associated with saint-like characters and grail war observers, I think it fits him rather well
• Even his most reckless acts are always done with good intentions and out of the main 4 bots, I consider him to be the peace keeper
• I see him as being an Arts unit with an AOE support Noble Phantasm (provides various buffs to the party instead of dealing damage to the enemy)
• I consider The Matrix of Leadership to be a passive skill: I’m thinking it would give passive healing per turn or extra debuff resistance. Probably passive healing because it’s not something you really see in F/GO (in playable units anyway)
• I’m probably going to give him a buff somewhere that makes him and or the party deal extra damage against "Threat to Cybertron" units (more on that later)
D-16/Megatron
• Easily an Avenger class unit, no questions asked
• Once he and the rest of the group find out the truth about Sentinel, revenge is all he can think about. And by the end of the film its become his defining trait, consuming him till there's nothing left of his previous personality
• It may be a little cliche giving him an all Buster card deck, but it really does suit him well
• His physical prowess is so strong after gaining his t-cog I’m thinking of making the arm canon his Noble Phantasm, if the divorce scene is anything to go by he’s probably Single Target (that scene gave me unparalleled psychic damage, I am not ok)
• He is also one of two units I will be giving the new "Threat to Cybertron" trait, based on F/GO’s "Threat to Humanity" trait
• I imagine his kit being almost like Maou Nobu’s, except better in every way. As much as I love her, the developers really failed her with that kit.
B-127/Bumblebee
• Not quite as obvious as my last choice, but he would make a good berserker
• Very low ranking "Madness Enhancement", probably somewhere in the low C/high to mid D range. Low C seems a little high for me but the change in stats is so minute it really doesn’t matter too much
• I have a feeling he would be a Quick unit, but I can’t make up my mind on whether he is Single Target or AOE. Maybe there is a gimmick in his kit somewhere that allows him to switch between the two like Melusine or Summer Barghest
• He seems like the kind of character I would throw all my prototype gimmicks at to see what sticks, just for the heck of it
Elita-1
• I headcanon her to be an Assassin class unit, more based on how she handles her opponents rather then her character
• High ranking "Independent Action" passive, but very low Luck. Poor girl can never catch a break. Her "Presence Concealment" would probably be about average, so somewhere in the B range
• I think she would have another Single-Target NP, and given her class’s knack for generating critical stars, she’s probably another Quick unit. Except I’d make her deck have three Quick cards instead of Bee’s two (double Quick, double Arts)
• Admittedly I was pretty stumped with this one, I think I ran out of brain juice while coming up with the others. Either that or the after work fatigue is kicking in again
Sentinel Prime (or as I like to call him Sentinel Douchebag)
• This is going to sound really wild, but hear me out: Moon Cancer
• Now I hear you saying "Goose, what does this motherfucker have to do with the moon? Or any moon?" And the truth is nothing at all. But he is to Cybertron what BB (the servant who made the class) is to the Moon Cell, a Cancer; an all encompassing evil that fundamentally changes the game. One that must be stopped at all costs, but unlike BB, his evil does not come from a place of care for the people.
• This class is the most objectively evil in its roots as even the Beasts have love in their hearts somewhere, so it makes perfect sense to throw this beautiful bastard in here. This class also has the smallest roster of characters in the game so there’s plenty of room for innovation.
• I see him having a double Arts, Double Buster deck with an Arts NP, probably AOE. He is also the second character to be receiving my new "Threat to Cybertron" trait, funnily enough I strictly had him in mind when coming up with it, and gave it to Megatron as an afterthought. That’s how much of a bitch he is in this movie.
• Him and Airachnid would be a dual package, just like Sakamoto Ryoma and his wife Oryou; with Airachnid appearing in his skill animations and NP, maybe having a couple voice lines of her own.

Happy WBW! Do you have a world that you really haven't gotten the chance to talk about? Ramble on!
i've talked very little about The Lost Sea Symphony, but that one has what i think is my most weird worldbuilding
it is based largely on videogames, specifically multi-server online videogames. Minecraft comes to mind, but also Sea of Thieves, Baldur's Gate, maybe Genshin Impact. i can't think of more rn but you get the gist
the premise is this: we are in an entirely digital world, which has limited access to magic (mostly just enhancing properties of objects). there is an original world (Server Zero), and there are thousands of copies of it that start with the same amount and distribution of resources. and access to Server Zero is very limited. most people in these worlds are average, baseline humans like you and i, and they repeat the same in every world. and some people are Players
Players have a variety of extra advantages: they have access to a personal inventory that defies all laws of magic and physics, they have access to a chat (???), they can move across servers and, given enough time training and focus, they can access the Code. they can fuck around with the Code. that is huge
so what happens when some people can fuck up the literal code of the world? well, things get funky. Players are not well liked, that's fore sure
Hackers, people who purposely change the Code of the server they're on, are a thing. not a widespread one, but one with a real bad reputation, since Hackers are self-serving at best and outright cruel at worst
Admins and Mods however are also a thing, especially on more advanced servers, and are tasked with server upkeep and protection on behalf of the baseline population. it's a whole, like, "governing" branch in a sense. also, remember how i said that access to Server Zero is limited? yeah it's mostly Admins and some Mods that can give you access to it, and they are picky. Server Zero has a bunch of firewalls that are very strong too, because it's the origin point and source of all other servers, so if something goes wrong there then it will go wrong everywhere else
and finally we get to the part of worldbuilding that i always have fun with, the Fucked Up Tidbit™: viruses and glitches
viruses result in what is pretty much zombies. they can be somewhat contained by admins, but they can't be cured. baselines lose all sense of identity, and Players get caught in a state of constantly fighting the virus to regain control of their body. death might be more merciful
now glitches? oh oh, we go into existential horror with glitches. suddenly, part of the server is wrong. part of you is off. your data goes missing and it's like you never existed. null. void. that's a glitch. it can just happen, anywhere to anyone at anytime the moment something is too wrong with the server. that's why Hackers are dangerous. (viruses can cause glitches too, but that's a minor detail >:3 )
iii think that covers about all the basis of The Lost Sea Symphony's worldbuilding. it's definitely a fun one, but the plot partvof it needs more attention than i can give it rn so it's fallen to the wayside unfortunately. it's still pretty high up on the WIP list tho

Get To Know Your Tav
I found this from @piipaw blog and I wanted to do it too for Anya (and maybe Orion and Calax).
Tumblr media
Anya Drakencoat | High-Half Elf | College of Lore Bard | She/Her | Age: Mid to Late-Twenties
What is your Tav’s…
Favorite Weapon: Sorrow - It is a weapon she can use with long reach and also sorrowful lash is a go to bonus action because Shadowheart heals.
Style of Combat: Anya tends to stay back and use ranged spells like scorching ray and also a good amount of buffing.
Most Prized Possession: Her 'Cloak of Many Pockets' - it is like a safety blanket she always has on when adventuring and it carries all of her poems !
Deepest Desire: Friends who aren't going to leave her.
Guilty Pleasure: Anya has found, after the encounter with Abdirak in the Goblin Camp, she is a masochistic. So pain, apparently.
Best-Kept Secret: Anya doesn't actually have any friends. She has co-workers, she had friends, but she has no friends at the start of the game. She is trying to fix that though!... doesn't stay fixed for long it feels though.
Greatest Strength: Very friendly to basically everyone and is always willing to help those in need!
Fatal Flaw: You can do anything to this girl and she will just accept it and forgive you. She will get extremely angry if you are mean to someone else but transfer that behavior to her and she becomes a doormat.
Favorite Smell: The Sea Breeze, not only is it the scent of Baldur's Gate and Home, it is also what her uncle uses to scent himself.
Favorite Spell or Cantrip: Scorching Ray - Pewpewpewpewpewpew Speak with Animals - Anya has found speaking with animals is a great way to get information and always makes sure to greet the day by casting it Enhance Ability - Who wants like +20 to persuasion with advantage? Anya does. Enhance ability makes it happen. (Guidance can be included in this)
Pet Peeve: Anya will fist fight you if you are rude to wait staff at a restaurant. (also lip smacking well eating gets on her nerves a bit)
Bad Habit: Biggest bad habit? Putting others before herself. Minor bad habits? Biting her nails most certainly is one of them.
Hidden Talent: Anya has a deep knowledge of the arcane, she could even rival some wizards with the knowledge she has horded up there.
Leisure Activity: Poetry, it is also how she gets her spells but she just really enjoys doing it.
Favorite Drink: Hot drinks: Coffee. Cold drinks: Apple Juice
Comfort Food: Strawberry Shortcake - there is a bakery in the upper city and the owner, a nice old halfling lady, is rather fond of Anya so every time Anya gets back from a job, she will get a free slice!
Favorite Person: Gale! From the moment he popped out of the portal Anya got excited because she had heard of the Wizard of Waterdeep and oh gods, he is right here! She has so many questions for him and wants to get to know more about him. And when she does well... he certainly isn't what she expected in the best ways. Shadowheart is someone who accidentally gets saddled with Anya because she was nice to her, keeps her from not dying and now has a golden retriever as a human following her around. Anya wants to get to know her but does stay her hand because she doesn't want to be too annoying or pushy.
Favored Display of Affection (platonic and/or romantic): Platonically be warned, Anya is a hugger. She will open her arms and offer a hug quite often when things are getting distressing and will 100% cuddle with Karlach after she gets her heart fixed. Romantically - hugging, kissing, cuddling, most physical affection like that. However she also writes poem and will just slide them over.
Fondest Childhood Memory: Playing and sharing food with her old friend in Bloomburg Park. Anya would like to see him again.
@bg3-stole-my-soul Now you gotta do it.

Feral Striker (Brawler Archetype)
Tumblr media
(art by Mariusz Grochalak on Artstation)
A common trope of fantasy martial artists is to take the theme of animal-themed styles to the extreme and give them powers based on those animals.
Somewhat blurring the line between brawler and shifter, today’s subject can draw upon the minor aspects of various animals to enhance their own abilities.
Since they are not monks, it can be assumed that they learned these techniques for practical reasons rather than any sort of spiritual enlightenment, though their power is undeniable.
Such martial artists might physically transform to resemble those animals, or they might manifest a psychic echo of that animal around or near themselves when they tap into the aspect.
Remember, however, that animal spirit stuff comes unfortunately close to terms and concepts from closed cultures that people have abused and appropriated, namely “spirit animals”, so please keep that in mind.
In any case, this brawler has some fun aspects that give them some unique ways to handle foes.
As suggested above, these warriors have access to the same animal aspects as shifters, gaining them at the same rate. However, they only ever get the minor forms, and they draw upon a much more limited list, improving anything from various ability scores to movements speed, armor class, and so on. Eventually they gain the ability to take on multiple aspects at once, but doing so takes more focus to do and drains their reserves faster, though they increase their reserves later. At the true zenith of their power, however, they can quickly take on all their aspects at once with minimal power drain.
This archetype has only one change, but it’s a doozy since it replaces martial flexibility, i.e., the ability that makes brawlers truly unique, so it truly does change everything about the assumptions you make when building a character. The shifter aspects lasting minutes per day, and the fact that using multiple accelerates the time lost means that you need to carefully manage your remaining minutes, whether to use them only when needed, or saving them for a big fight and burning them up all at once. The aspects are much more straightforward than picking and choosing temporary feats, so there is that, but you also miss out on more dramatic abilities. Beyond that, you definitely have to have a specific build in mind with this archetype, so keep that in mind.
Exactly how your brawler came by these powers can be interesting to explore as well. Perhaps they stumbled upon a secret druidic martial arts. Perhaps they tried to become a shifter but could never progress beyond the basics. Or maybe they were imbued with these powers by divine will or an accident of fate.
Malgorn the Bear is not called such purely for his prodigious size, though that is part of it. The famed wrestler practices a rare technique for imbuing himself with the stamina of his namesake, but when he really needs to get serious, he can invoke other aspects as well.
Not every kitsune is suited for magic or trickery. Instead, some seek the path of the martial warrior, and a rarer few make use of limited shapeshifting powers to temporarily enhance their martial arts. Such is the case with the House of Hidden Strikes, where many kitsune hone their arts far from the eyes of other peoples.
Creatures of foul magic, the qallupilluk are notorious for turning others into monsters with their touch. Most in the icy regions of the north know to avoid them whenever possible. However, Lukkuaz cannot do that. A mighty warrior empowered by animal totems, she knows she is still not strong enough to hunt the one that took her brother. She will need help to find a way to get him back, not just from the monster, but to his original form and mind.
