once a series ends it loses some of its hype and it gets remembered for all the shittiest parts. like, yeah Naruto had some shitty parts. It was long as hell so of course. but to this day, certain scenes and moments stick in my mind that are just amazing without comparison and when you go back to them it’s no wonder Naruto was so massive and is still so popular so long after it finished
#I have loads of fave moments but the moment that made me write this is when Naruto goes to remove the seal during the pain arc#and Minato appears to stop him#what are your moments that you go back to?? please tell me so I can go back to them too

Please zoom in to see small Kakashi! 😭 He kinda disappeared 😭😭😭
Text translation: "Infinite Tsukuyomi" (無限月読)
Drew these in mid-July - when I started doing digital again actually 🤔
Took inspo from the Balut - a street food in my country; I hear a lot of people are grossed out by it?? Don't know if this is controversial, but I personally love the dish. Essentially grew up with it after all!
Wanted to draw something that feels a bit creepy but still has a sense of mysticality to it???
Meh, don't know if the feeling got across or not
I thought since Halloween is coming up, might as well post this haha
About the process of drawing these!
These were very fun to draw! I messed around a lot with photoshop to achieve this glowy dusty effect?? From the brushes to the blending options, and maaan the filter gallery 😭😭 Such fun tools to play with.
The main brush I used to achieve the dusty effect is called "KYLE Bonus Chunky Charcoal", in the Kyle Dry Media brush set. If you can, I recommend checking it out! There are definitely other ways to achieve this sort of effect, though. You can probably just use some sort of scatter texture brush and it'd work just fine. Studying is all about trying things out, right? This is like my first experiment with this type of effect, and I was happy at the time. Now looking back, these could most definitely turn out better, no? I really went overboard with just the effect and forgot everything else. The blood and the plate looks horrible man. If you look closely, you can see the sketch lines haha! I got lazy!
Also, for Obito's pose, I relied heavily on a reference I found on pinterest 😭 I wish I'd changed the pose more tbh, it looks really boring.
And I gotta say, these just look underwhelming in this smaller size. Like reaaaaaally underwhelming. Would love to show you the big version, but oh well! 😭😭😭
Brain vomit time!
I love the prospect (??? is that the right word) of Obito being all god-like and powerful after Tsukuyomi, having control over everybody's dream worlds?? And like he jumps from dream to dream, but stops at Kakashi's and picks it apart???? Observing and tormenting Kakashi with his childhood form that has both sharingan???????
Kakashi would probably be confused with Obito's appearance at first, asking questions like "What are you up to this time, Obito?", but then wouldn't receive any answers??? Like little man would just stare at him creepily, and Kakashi would push this to the back of his mind for a while???
Umm below is the technical stuff, I guess??
My headcanon is that the time span in the dream world is the same as the real world. Meaning, 30 years in the dream world feel incredibly real, with no gap of memories. It's essentially a different timeline. Whether this makes sense or not, who knows haha!
Let's talk about the dream events and how they affect Kakashi! Due to Sakumo and team Minato still living, this Kakashi probably wouldn't be as lax nor sad as in canon?? The relationships and personalities would be different huh???? I'm having a headache thinking about this, so let's just say that: 1. Sakumo lived because the villagers weren't as harsh, but the animosity still remained. Kakashi still developed this obsession with rules, but he doesn't blame his dad as much. 2. Kannabi happened, Kakashi was given the sharingan, along with Obito's ninja way. Team Minato thought that Obito died for a while, but Obito is 'rescued' by Madara, same as canon. 3. Rin would still be targeted by Madara, but Obito came in time to help with the situation, blocking Kakashi's chidori from connecting with Rin's chest, but also knocking Kakashi away. Then, a Mist enemy took advantage of the situation to attack Kakashi, injuring him gravely, to the point where everybody thought he died. With this, Obito activated his Mangekyou and exploded on the Mist enemies, killing them all. Meanwhile, Rin tried to heal Kakashi, just barely saving him. As Obito had dealt with the enemies, there was no need to rush back to the village, and the Sanbi wouldn't be released till then. And so, they waited for Minato to come and help with Rin's seal. (About Obito's Mangekyou activating with Kakashi's death - would that be too far-fetched? My reasoning is that Obito would think that it was his fault Kakashi died, because it was Obito who knocked Kakashi away into the enemy, no?) 4. Because there's no one to become 'Madara' now that Obito came back to the village, Naruto is born, Minato and Kushina live.
5. The Uchiha massacre doesn't happen.
(Everything is incredibly convenient, because I don't have the brain power to make it otherwise, please help 😭😭) -> In conclusion, this Kakashi resembles the Kakashi of the real world, but less depressed and self-destructive??? He loves his living comrades. My man still has a massive obsession (more like crush lol) with Obito by the way, just like in canon. He just doesn't show it.
-> About Obito of the dream world (I'mma call him Dreambito), he is all sunshine and brightness, but he exhibits some dark thoughts and deep rage from time to time due to the residual effects of Madara's seal on his heart. The seal has been removed though. And he has this obsession with Kakashi's safety, as he almost pushed him to his death once, albeit accidentally.
-> I was debating whether to just start this dream world at the point where Obito got crushed, or to start it at the beginning of Kakashi's life. In the end, I went with the latter, cuz ya know, I like the idea of Kakashi living through a whole life all over again, just to finally come to the realization that it's all a dream. Does that make any sense at all??
Obito (child form - 13) first appears in front of Kakashi at the start of the Naruto series, when Kakashi has officially become the teacher of team 7. (Let's not change this okay, my brain would fry haha I'm not gonna deny that the idea of Obito and Kakashi becoming co-teachers of team 7 isn't incredibly fun though)
After the first encounter with this child Obito, Kakashi begins to have flashes of memories from the real world, and he hallucinates about people's deaths - mostly about the members of team Minato. This young Obito is always in the corner of his vision, most of the time silent, sometimes saying things like "You trash" to Kakashi whenever he encounters Rin, who is whole and grown up in this world.
Kakashi exhibits more destructive behaviors as this goes on, the line between the dream events and the real events slowly blurring. He takes more dangerous solo missions out of the village, and shows strong signs of PTSD, just like in canon.
The two Obitos would contrast each other?? Like Dreambito would be all concerned with Kakashi's decline in health (both mental and physical) and goes to confront and comfort him, many times over because that's how it is with them??? Dreambito might even move in with Kakashi, being the obsessive and protective Uchiha that he is. Meanwhile young Obito would be an absolute asshole, saying all these horrible things to poison Kakashi's mind haha
At this point, Dreambito'd be in the last stage on the journey of becoming Hokage, gaining the all the trust from the Uchiha clan, the village elders and the villagers as a whole. I don't know about Rin, though? Should she be romantically involved with Dreambito or no? Would Kakashi dream that??
I think Kakashi's dream would somewhat focus more on Dreambito being happy and satisfied, to be honest. I know there's Sakumo and team Minato as a whole, but as a degenerate shipper, I love the obsession between them🥺
I don't think Obito would directly interfere with what Kakashi is dreaming about, i.e. changing Dreambito's behavior, or like the political situation of the villages (?). But he would most definitely insert himself in Kakashi's psyche, no? Mess it up real good.
Kakashi would slowly realize that he is living a dream world, after all the flashes of memories that Obito generates in his mind. He would most definitely deny it at first though, I think? And then it would reach a point where Kakashi remembers everything from the real world, but he has also lived through 30 something years of the dream world, meaning he'd be in his 60s?? Does that make sense or no?
And so, while Kakashi now knows that everything is a dream, his feelings for everybody in the dream are real. If that's the case, is it really that important anymore that he escapes the Tsukuyomi? Can this dream world really be called fake at this point? Is there even anything in the real world for him to return to?
What's to say 'the real world' isn't a dream at this point?
-> Kakashi would completely close in on himself after this. He still does things that he would normally do, but it'd be all an act. He would feel completely isolated.
-> Dreambito would notice and confront him again, now that they live in the same house??? Kakashi would like say everything is fine and try to act more convincingly, but Dreambito would still know something's wrong????
-> Obito is observing from afar, who knows what his motivation is at this point.
Because this is Kakashi's dream world, I suppose he would have the power to change this world to his will, now that he's aware? This is like a lucid dream situation???
The people in the dream have their own will up until this point, but Kakashi can somewhat change their behavior if he really wants to, whether it's subconsciously or not??? Example: He can probably will Dreambito to kiss him or something lol
So on and so forth!
Man, I'm having waaay too much fun imagining the pain. There are probably like a thousand things that doesn't make sense haha! I do wonder how this sort of storyline should end though, does anybody have any ideas? Personally, I prefer slow burn with a (sort of) happy ending, but ya know, angst all the way is good too! I can't write, but I love thinking about all the things that could happen 😭😭 English isn't my first language, so this might have felt weird to read at some point haha
If anybody wants to develop this, please feel free to do so! And if you've read this far, thank you for reading this absolute brain vomit of mine! I love to yap, as you can tell haha Have a good day!

I need y'all to stop with these stupid parallels between Sasuke and Kushina. Some of you are dumb enough to take kushina's line about finding someone like her literally and make non-existent parallels between her and sasuke. They are not alike, either in appearance or storyline. The only person who looks like Kushina is, surprise surprise, her own son. The only parallels Kishimoto deliberately drew are those between Kushina and Naruto.

And I don't think I need to explain this, but since Naruto is basically a second kushina, he needs someone like minato - calm, collected, sensible - someone who balances him out.
If you want a het ship to parallel SNS with, then take Borusara. Sarada has the looks of Sasuke but parallels Naruto in plot and relationship with Boruto, while Boruto looks like Naruto but parallels Sasuke. Borusara is the only ship that was made to parallel sns, but you all prefer to compare Naruto's mother to Sasuke and make delusional analyses.
Boruto is a nukenin who is hated by the whole village, and Sarada is the one who still loves and supports him. Boruto wants to be by Sarada's side when she becomes hokage and protect her. Doesn't this remind you of someone else?

It wasn’t that he had expected to be bored or not to enjoy himself, but Minato is still surprised by just how much fun he’s had today. Exploring the city with Ryoji and Junpei had felt like an adventure, especially with Ryoji’s unbridled excitement about nearly everything the day had to offer.
Maybe some of Ryoji’s enthusiasm could use a bridle now and again– Junpei’s nerves probably could have done without The Balcony Incident– but honestly there’s something Minato kind of admires about that foolhardy streak. He’s been called fearless himself before, but if that was ever true about him, those guts had come from a place of… numbness.
Ryoji’s moxie, on the other hand, seems to come from one of joy. It’s nice to be around.
Minato’s phone buzzes– speaking of Ryoji, he’s asked Minato to come see him on the second floor. He heads towards the stairs to meet up, Junpei trailing behind, only to stop short when he catches sight of Aragaki.
He stands in the shadow of the staircase, apparently trying to draw as little attention to himself as possible, and plucks at the sleeve of the yukata he’s wearing– because he is in fact wearing one. Maybe not entirely correctly– his belt is slightly crooked and the neckline flops a bit loosely– but still.
Aragaki. Is wearing a yukata.
Unlike Junpei, he’s also foregone his hat, and is instead keeping his hair out of the way with a tie.
Aragaki runs a hand over his hair like he’s hoping to find the characteristic beanie had spontaneously manifested itself back onto his head.
A group of second-year girls walk past, headed for the courtyard. Minato recognizes one of them from his class, and another from the trio that’s taken to lingering around the staircase to the school rooftop. They stop short for a moment when they catch sight of Aragaki, then burst into a flutter of whispers and smothered giggling as they scurry on their way.
Junpei whistles, deeply impressed. Aragaki looks like he’d like to crawl into the wallpaper.
Come to think of it, hadn’t he heard from one of his classmates that a bunch of girls had been praying at a shrine in an effort to win Sanada’s attention? He wonders if some of them might have been vying for Aragaki, instead. Or too.
He absolutely knows better than to voice that speculation out loud, though.
Sanada appears as if on cue, or maybe as if Aragaki had summoned him like a Persona.
Sanada chuckles and shakes his head, his good humor not ebbing in the slightest, and walks right up to Aragaki to adjust the yukata. He starts with the front panel, tugging it down and over a little more so that it lays flat, then goes about straightening the collar. Aragaki glowers ferociously at a point somewhere above Sanada’s head, but otherwise he more or less submits to being fussed over.
Aragaki’s scowl deepens and he flicks Sanada’s forehead with a cartoonishly loud thok sound. But he doesn’t escalate when Sanada bats his hand away, and he doesn’t make any more of an effort to escape.
Sanada takes a step back, apparently satisfied that Aragaki is presentable.

🎇 — 2025 Tanabata: Persona.
RELATIONSHIP: Arisato Minato, Narukami Yu, Kurusu Akira, Kitagawa Yusuke x Reader
SUMMARY: I couldn't come up with a clever summary. It's Tanabata wishes for the Persona protagonists + Yusuke for my beloved anon.
A/N: Poetry is NOT my strong suit at all, but I tried my best for Yusuke!
MINATO ARISATO (Name), be happy.
They make me feel so loved. They make my world a much brighter place. I never used to care enough to make a wish on Tanabata, but everyone said I should write one for them. All I can think of to ask for is their happiness. But, I feel like making this wish isn’t enough. I’ll do whatever I can to make sure they can live happily.
YU NARUKAMI I wish for more time to spend in Inaba. My friends and family are there. (Name) is there, and I can’t stand having to leave them every time. I’m tired of tearful goodbyes and reunions that never last long enough. I want to be in the place that changed my life, with the people I love more than anything.
Also, I wish for all the cats in Inaba to be well-fed. Maybe all the cats in the world, if the Gods have time to grant a wish like that.
AKIRA KURUSU This tanzaku is a formality. I’ll head into Mementos soon to encounter Orihime and Hikoboshi. They’ll probably appear with how much the public is thinking of them. I’ll make sure this wish gets granted.
My wish is for (Name) to stop doubting themself. I’ve never met a more talented and wonderful person. They’re too wonderful to keep having their insecurities consume them. Give them the confidence and security to live their life in utter bliss. No one deserves it as much as them.
YUSUKE KITAGAWA My dear (Name),
a forest in frost the fox circles the fire the warmth shows him spring
I thought long and hard about what I want to wish for you, and I came to the conclusion I would rather try to figure out how to a grant a wish for you on my own. You have already taught me so much about living. This is the least I can do in return.

All right, fair warning here before we proceed: there will be discussions of the popular hc of Sakura having abusive parents below. Not in-depth, but child abuse is mentioned under the cut. If it makes you uncomfortable, don't proceed:
I'm sure I've said it once before, but Sakura fans really like making up scenarios of Sakura coming from an abusive family. Now, for starters, there's nothing wrong with making up angst hcs for your fave character. If you like to see them suffer, then good for you ig.
But the fascination Sakura stans have with the hc of her having abusive parents is, well, really fascinating. I find it telling that when it comes to Sakura angst, that's the first and most common idea her fans can come up with. When we think about it really, what other types of angst are the most common or widespread in the Sakura fandom? If it's not 'abusive parents', it's either ship angst with Sasuke or whatever other pretty boy their ship roulette points to, or Team 7 being toxic angst. It's also when you start realizing that they don't do it just to give her angst. Her fans don't like seeing her suffer. She's hated enough as is. What they do is 'sympathy farming'. They come up with types of angst that could make the characters in the story, as well as the viewers themselves, feel bad for her and hate her less (or like her even more, in the case of the characters).
I feel it's true because most Sakura's parents are abusive posts, have team 7 reactions being of utter sympathy, pity, and protectiveness. With Kakashi himself threatening to kill her parents for her, Naruto also would have to be stopped from insulting them to their faces, and Sasuke also despising her parents and even offering her to live with him or whatever. Where else do they get the idea that Sakura would be a victim of abuse? When her parents barely exist in canon? It's never pointed out in canon, or fillers, or anything. I think there's that reverse ninja world, where her and Naruto swap roles, I think? And they all have opposite personalities? But in that case, her parents would be dead, not abusive. Is it because she was bullied? And in her case, I wouldn't really call it bullying either. When she was 5, the other girls told her she had a big forehead, big deal. It stopped almost immediately once Ino stood up for her. Because of the one scene where she says she's on a diet? These are all the canonical 'angst' instances Sakura has that they cling to. Somehow, they're able to extrapolate 'she'd have abusive parents' from them. It's funny, because even if it was true, and her parents actually appeared in canon, and they were trash. That still wouldn't get her much sympathy from the other characters.
Kakashi barely showed any sympathy for the genocide survivor (Sasuke). What makes them think he'd feel worse for her if her parents were that way? Everybody in the village knew Naruto was a jinchuriki and that he was all alone, yet he was mostly treated like trash, too. When Kakashi was too traumatized because of his dad's death, Minato's bright idea was to drop that kid in ANBU, and Jiraiya himself told Kakashi to stop being annoying when kid Kashi went ask him for advice. Nearly no one would feel extra sympathy for her if her parents were truly abusive. Because 95% of the characters had it way worse than that, so, they're unable to see a situation like that, as dire. Okay, maybe Naruto and Ino? Would be the only ones to feel bad for her, and even then, it wouldn't be treated like an urgent problem. Sakura would probably just get the Hyuga treatment, where her parents' abuse would get solved offscreen after she's given one cool moment, saving them or smth.
Even with all that, I just think about all the other kids of her generation, and how most of them had it worse than Sakura, with the exception of maybe, Shika and Ino:
Sasuke: literally the most tragic character in the whole show.
Naruto: Lol. His and Sasuke's trauma, literally drive the plot forward.
Neji: literally a slave who lost his dad and was under constant threats from the main family.
Hinata: Not as bad as Neji, but still had an actual terrible dad. Verbal and emotional abuse are still bad, even if Hiashi never physically hit her. Even then, I think forcing your two girls to beat each other over a position of power in the family should be classified as some kind of abuse.
Shino: I'd say he was neglected by most kids just for being an Aburame. Being constantly forgotten and never taken into account is painful. Literally, he lost his brother figure to Danzo because Danzo originally had his eyes on Shino for Root, but Shino's only friend (I don't remember his name) offered himself instead. It's the same guy who was one of Danzo's bodyguards when that old coot became Hokage after the Pain attack. Now I remember the boy's name is Torune. He was like a big brother figure to Shino and his only friend and offered himself for ANBU, so Danzo wouldn't take Shino, I believe? It's still some light angst, I suppose.
Kiba: He doesn't have a dad and was raised by a strict mother, who, from the looks of her, seems to be a fan of the tiger parenting lifestyle despite being a wolf person. One of her only scenes is her making fun of the fact her husband ran away from her, so her kids don't have a father figure now. It's decidedly not much, but still something that can be described as light angst, I suppose.
Chouji: Also was actually bullied because of his weight. Kids wouldn't play with him, and Shikamaru was his only friend. Actually, this treatment of him persists, as making 'fat jokes' about him is a common gag in Naruto. Most times, Chouji is onscreen. Maru is legit one of very few people who don't make fun of him for it.
Lee: He was bullied for real, just for not being able to use ninjutsu or genjutsu. No one believed in him until Guy sensei. Also, big question mark on whether he could possibly be an orphan or not.
Tenten: Another big question mark. But there exists a chance she's also an orphan, just like Lee.
Gaara: why do I even bother. You know his deal.
Kankuro and Temari: had to live with Gaara, enough said.
Sakura is literally one of the most privileged kids of her generation. Right up there, with Ino and Maru. Even then, I'm pretty sure that with them being clan heirs, Ino and Shika also faced their daily amount of stress from their parents and clan elders to always be as good as possible in their shinobi performance. Obviously, not to the point of tiger parenting (especially not Inoichi, bless his heart). But still, there had to be some pressure. Sakura fans literally don't like that their fave is the most privileged kid of her generation, so they make up angst hcs for her. At least, that's what I've noticed.

Tenzo is a replacement for Obito.
From Obito's point of view.
contents | introduction · the essence · similar story: Jinx and Caitlin
[ I mention the similarity with Arcane here, but if you haven't watched it, you can just not read this part, the essence won't change much. ]
here's the thing: It's a headcanon, and it is simple in formulation, but a bit complex in explanation of the certain image. below I discuss the reasons for some of Obito's reactions during the war, and his perception in general.
if Kakashi and Obito had somehow happened to be in the same place once during the ANBU period, or if Obito had known about the members of Kakashi's team, he would be jealous of Kakashi for Tenzo.
not romantically jealous (it's up to you though), rather painfully possessive, with resentment and anger. and not in a vivid way. it's more of a gnashing feeling inside, clogged enough not to recognize it, but not weak enough that it doesn't affect anything at all. why would that even be? their kekkei-genkai, appearance and bond with Kakashi.

CH 317 on the left; CH 605 on the right.
Tenzo's mokuton is smooth, malleable, these are neat bars of wood, and Tenzo has no difficulty making large houses or complex thin figures out of them, such as keys or eyes (ANBU arc in anime) or cute figures (almost any scene where Yamato uses kekkei-genkai).
Obito's mokuton is broken and sharp, it's branches with thorns, which rather embody his frustration, instability and anguish. such wood is easy to use to injure, kill, block the way, isolate yourself from others, but not to build anything out of it. this can not protect gently (to make a shelter or a useful object), this mokuton can only attack. the detail parallels very well with the personalities of both characters and their connection with Kakashi, with how Obito perceives it.
no matter what Obito says, he's a good liar. the old bonds he had in his "past" life remain important to him. his anger at Kakashi in the war, among other practical reasons, is due to the fact that Kakashi dared to acquire new connections that are more important to him than that bond with Obito. at least that's why, among other things, Kakashi doesn't go over to his side (while Obito hoped he would, I'll make a post about it one day). and the connections Kakashi has, subconsciously or not, are perceived by Obito as annoying, as a disregard for everything they've been through together, for everything Obito went through. this is a resentment that provokes anger, the root of which is as follows: "you should not have new connections, you should suffer, because I am lonely and I suffer for you" (for others in general, but this one is the agenda).
his anger is sometimes about "I did so much for you, I gave you the most valuable things I had (life, strength, the ability to care for others), and you ruined everything, well, maybe not you, but I thought it was you at first... and now you, bastard, are trying to stop me?" but not about that today.
and that's why not only Tenzo would annoy Obito, but anyone else who's close to Kakashi. the man consistently selected the people most similar to his past experience, and here they are all around him. then Minato appears in the war. so why am I talking specifically about Tenzo, whom Obito may never have seen?
Tenzo's kekkei-genkai makes everything more confusing. This becomes something personal, which Obito perceives in the way described above. That's just an interesting parallel between these two.
And that's not to mention Tenzo's appearance. He is in some ways still looks like Obito, at least because of the silhouette, hairstyle, etc.
And what this can be compared to? Jinx and Caitlin from Arcane.

Arcane EP 7, "the boy saviour"
Of Course Jinx experiences it much vividly, it's her canon event. for her this storyline is more important than something like this for Obito, but the essence is the same. It is a feeling of betrayal from a person dear to you, who showed with all his appearance that he/she would be on your side until the very end. And it feels like you've been replaced by someone who's really more comfortable, or better at something, or more socially approved. And you're just a lonely sick weirdo.
It is not surprising that both Jinx and Obito treat Vi's/Kakashi's kind words or regrets as something annoying - subconsciously, among other things, they can see it as a mockery. They just don't really believe it.
so here it is. just the way I see all of this.
what is the role of this hc? to show the subconscious in Obito, which is constantly manifested in war through his action or inaction, through his words, through the way he manipulates, through illusions that he shows or sees himself. I like that about him. I like his big vulnerable uchiha heart.
[ I should have written some other post about Obito first, otherwise you will now decide that this is the only way I see him... ]

“𝐈𝐌 𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐒.“
You were a very introverted girl from a young age. You never wanted to play with other children, you didn't want to train with other children, and heaven forbid anyone spoke to you. You were constantly locked in your room, never going outside, but your parents somehow didn't care. Or they never noticed, whatever. At some point, however, you had to go to the ninja academy, and that was hell on earth for you. You never spoke, sat in the very back corner and row, and three seats away from you was a boy named Obito Uchiha. Well, let's just say he was the class clown who knew "nothing" and was always raving to his neighbor, Kakashi Hatake, about a girl named "Rin." Anyway, you had nothing to do with him and tried to keep your peace. Every time the teacher picked you, you just shrugged your shoulders or pretended to be asleep, which the teacher didn't really care about.
You were very quiet and never spoke, but that didn't mean you were bad. You trained alone in the garden every day, memorized the names of the jutsu, and even asked your parents for tips and other jutsu. After all, they helped you.
After a few weeks, a boy approached you. Although you had your head on the table and your eyes closed, you could feel his chakra and hear his footsteps. "Hey!" he called out to you and stopped in front of you, smiling according to his voice and crossing his arms. You raised your head from the table to look at him, but said nothing, which didn't seem to bother him. "You're always so alone and quiet...maybe you'd like to be with us?" Obito asked, stepping aside. This Kakashi and that Rin suddenly appeared. Kakashi didn't exactly have a friendly face and didn't look happy, but he was there anyways.
You remained silent and said nothing, not knowing what to say either. Not even a second later, Obito pulled you outside. "I'm Obito Uchiha!" he said, emphasizing the "Uchiha" with pride. "This is Rin and... Kakashi... and you're again?" You remained silent for a moment, and all three of them had no hope that you would say anything, but suddenly you spoke. "Y/n," you said in a less than pleased voice, and Obito smiled.
And so it continued for the next few years. The four of us grew together and got along well, and you actually started talking, but more often in front of Obito or when Obito was there. You had only felt comfortable in front of him, and with his helpfulness, self-confidence, and patience with you, you had also developed feelings for him. However, you kept these feelings aside the whole time and convinced yourself it was just friendship because you knew he liked Rin...or at least you thought so. Obito was with you more, but as soon as Rin appeared, he was gone...as if you were just a replacement. And it broke your heart, but no one really noticed because you're "always like that."
You were always there for Obito, and even Kakashi noticed that you had feelings for Obito, but he never said anything about it because he knew more than you. Anyway, it ended up that we left the ninja academy and became genin under Team 7, Minato. As an exception, you were allowed to join the team, since there are normally only three people on a team, but Minato made an exception because he knew you personally.
After a time, it felt like only your soul was there in the group, and not you yourself. You became quieter and quieter again and hardly spoke anymore, since Obito only spent time with Rin and Kakashi was more by himself, although he often came to see you. You were alone again and no one even really noticed.
Five days later, there was a knock at your house, and you didn't even have the strength to get up and open it, but maybe it was something important. What could possibly be important anymore? You opened the door only to see Obito standing there, and your heart sank. You swallowed hard.
"Y/n!! We all miss you, why don't you come anymore?" Obito asked in a worried voice, which was actually heard a little less often, even though he was always the positive one. "Are you not feeling well?" he added when he noticed you weren't talking. "Y/n?--" he asked before you could answer. "Don't act like that," was your reply, and it confused Obito...it confused him really much, because he did not get what you mean by that. "What?..." he asked, confused, tilting his head. "Don't act like I mean something to you," you finished. "But you-" "No," you interrupted. "You're with me, but as soon as Rin shows up, you're suddenly gone again, as if I'd never been anything...as if I were a nobody, a replacement. Don't you realize it hurts me? Haven't you noticed how quiet I've become? How unsure I've been again?" you finished, your heart heavy, because it really hurt you. You have feelings for him, you love him. You just never really understood how to show it or to make it clear. "Why were you always there for me? Why were you always so gentle and patient with me, if it doesn't mean anything in the end? I don't understand," you added last, seeing Obito's shocked and unexpected look. "Y/n..." he whispered. "I didn't know...you'd take this so seriously...I'm...sorry, but let me explain, okay? I promise you won't regret listening to me, okay?" Obito spoke in a quick and desperate voice, and you just nodded.
"Good, thanks. Look...I never cared about you, and I'm sorry for making you feel that way. I never wanted you to think you were unimportant to me, okay? I just didn't really know how to show it to you, and that's why I always went to Rin to ask for advice, because she's a girl too...because I...uhh..." Slowly, his cheeks began to blush slightly, and he closed his eyes and looked away. "I love you, okay? I just never wanted to do anything wrong, so I was being distant instead of talking to you. I'm sorry," Obito said in a quick, scared voice that you might laugh at him, but he never heard that laugh.
Your expression was now shocked, but confused at the same time. "You...love me? You don't love Rin?" you asked uncertainly and confused. "No, I...never loved her...except maybe at the beginning in the academy," he answered calmly, swallowing nervously. "I'm sorry, y/n. I only have eyes for you...always have, but I never knew how to show it," he looked down at you.
You were simply shocked at the moment and didn't know what to do. Thousands of emotions were running through your head. Was he lying to get out of it? Or was he serious? You swallowed and looked into Obito's eyes before quickly looking away. "It's okay... I just didn't know... that you love me too.." you answered and obito‘s eyes widened slightly. "Too? Do you love me too?!" he asked. Apparently he was still too stupid to understand, but you just smiled gently and nodded. "Yes..." you answered. "Since when?" Obito asked curiously. "When we became Genin, I realized it..."
"Oh, y/n..." he began, opening his arms and closing those few centimeters between you, hugging you. "If only I'd said something sooner...then you wouldn't have had to feel so bad these past few weeks. I'm sorry, love." he finished. You blushed at the nickname; it was a strange feeling. You'd never felt butterflies in your stomach like that before, and it felt warm, tingly, and kind of dizzy. Obito grabbed your chin between his index finger and thumb and lifted your head so that you were looking into his eyes.
"Im lost in your Iris." you spoke, causing obito to smile.
FINALLY IM DONE WITH IT😭 I’m so sorry that it took me so long, I hope yall like it thooooo

Persona 3 Arcana Swap AU
Junpei - The Fool: After the death of his mother a decade ago, then the death of his abusive father in recent years, Junpei moves to Iwaitodai to attend Gekoukan for reasons he can't exactly describe. Unbeknownst to him, he has brain damage that's spreading and slowly killing him.
Chidori - The Lovers: Goth girl who everyone somehow finds likable despite her not entertaining them, so she's popular - She's part of the art club and the axe-throwing club. She's the first one to welcome Junpei to the dorm- Her and Junpei don't necessarily get along, (she won't admit she likes him, he's openly in love with her) but they work well together.
Yukari - Magician: Softball team star and a general "sporty girl"- She's wildly jealous of how popular Chidori is and how no one takes her seriously. She can be a little mean and hotheaded, or trying too hard to be likable by others. She tends to go down to the station and to the movies when she gets frustrated, and sees a mysterious, sharply dressed woman there.
Takaya - Hierophant: A chronically ill man who used to be part of the original SEES team- He disappeared and stopped going to school, only to be seen rarely at the alleys. Jin constantly keeps trying to bring him back. No one knows why he left in the first place, except for Jin- who won't say anything. ** Jin and Takaya were both part of an experimental drug testing that failed, and caused Takaya's persona to come out and attack a stranger after a trip to tartarus one night, killing them. Takaya gets suppressants from a strange group of friends who he seems to know from something greater than all of them.
Jin - Emperor: One of the top students in school- Takaya's childhood best friend, the two grew up together. Jin won't explain where or how, though. Jin's a part of the computer club and is taking college courses already. Could have been student council president, but he's a little too hotheaded and protective of his friend to listen to teacher properly, but his good grades give him the leeway to do things like skip class every so often or walk out when he gets too frustrated.
Ryoji - Priestess: An upbeat boy who was bullied by the student body and locked in Tartarus for multiple days, and after being saved became the navigator for the SEES team. He's awkward, and doesn't usually understand boundaries. Kenji, one of the boys who locked him in the school, became his friend after the two made up. The two became extremely close after the fact.
Aigis - Emperess: The student council president who is focused on being the top student and getting good grades and getting into a good college. Her people skills are the bare minimum, and she is often blunt and focused on schoolwork more than relationships- But she's still courteous. Her parents used to own several scientific organizations, but after they both died, these places have long since been abandoned- She still has access to them, but they are unkempt.
Fuuka - Aeon: An anti-shadow weapon that was discovered on a trip to an abandoned beach- She's shy and uses her knowledge and scanning to check on Junpei and the SEES team constantly- Without understanding it might not be the most appropriate. She means well, but is often nervous- The programmers tried to make her seem human, and instead made her anxious. Her overly caring nature leads her to often intrude or barge in on Junpei and the other SEES team members.
Minato - Death: A mysterious boy who appeared at school in the middle of the year- He's quiet, self-contained, and rarely speaks. However, he keeps staying close to Junpei and befriending him fairly quickly despite their relatively opposite natures. No one's sure of who he is, or where he came from- But there's a strange aura about him.
Senior Trio - Strega: All were part of an experiment as kids to "fix them"- In reality, they were all orphans, except for Mitsuru- Her dad, unknowing of what the trial actually was, put her into the program. In reality they were artificially given personas, and with that, were unable to use them.
Shinjiro was the eldest- and protected the others. His Persona also attached the smoothest at the time, and that gave him extra attention from the doctors- and a complex. He began to lead the other subjects- and save them, since he was so good with his persona.
Akihiko had the roughest time with his persona attaching, so much so that he tried to end himself from the pain of constantly being shocked by his own persona. Shinjiro saved him from his own persona, and from himself- Causing Akihiko to devote himself to protecting Shinjiro from any other subjects who got angry and tried to lash out, or from any doctors who tried to come at him. Even after they were the only three surviving, Akihiko still protects him and keeps him close, being utterly devoted- After every win, turning back to make sure Shinjiro is watching.
Mitsuru acts as their navigator, usually dressed sharply as a business woman- She's often out walking about at the station and watching other businesses run- She's known for carrying a small notebook and writing notes about everyone she sees in odd, scrawly handwriting that's difficult to read and disjointed. She is cold, calculating, and often will only talk to people as if they're potential business partners- And it's how the team gets a lot of their information and networks.

The Castle Of Not-So-Good Hope
@infinitexmuses (Masako Hara) || Pre-Plotted ||
Paranormal Quest: Season 06, episode 30: The Castle Of Good Hope
This haunted location had been an investigation that Minato and his crew had been looking forward to all season. The trio of Paranormal Investigators were in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, the three had already arrived here a few days ago, Paranormal Quest technically recorded their episodes within the span of several, which further proved their shows credibility since everything was manually recorded with each of the three's own personal cameras for each episode of PQ.
So far the crew had about two days of eyewitness interviews recorded, good progress to start. From the experiences they had been told, it was shaping up to be a very good investigation, instead of being concerned, Minato was brimming with excitement, there was no doubt in his mind they would be capturing a lot of activity--making this a perfect season 6 closer. After the three enjoyed an early lunch, after leaving, Minato decided to record his narration voiceover for today. Once Takashi's camera was rolling, with a nod, he began.
[{ 🦋 }] - "It's our third day here in Cape Town, South Africa. With enough eyewitness accounts gathered, and more than enough information on the location and it's apparent spirits, tonight is the night when we finally begin our lockdown. But first, there's one more person who has asked to personally meet with us, the current owner The Castle of Good Hope, Jose Sandalago requests a meeting with us to go over a paranormal experience of his own, and the details, are harrowing."
[{ 👻 }] - "And, cut. Good work man, all in one take too."
Minato nods, turning his head to look at his friend and co-investigator. Being here after wanting to investigate this place for so long, felt so surreal. The blueberry lead Investigator was looking forward to tonight. This was probably going to be one of the biggest investigations the Paranormal Quest crew had ever done in quite a while, he was extremely eager for tonight.
[{ 🦋 }] - "Thanks, Takashi. I've gotten pretty used to doing my voiceover in one take, I remember when it used to take me three."
[{ 👻 }] - "Or four and five too."
[{ 🦋 }] - "Yeah, yeah, I used to be an amateur, I remember.." Minato sighed, although he sounded bothered by the comment, he knew it was all harmless jabbing, something completely normal coming from the older investigator, Minato's reaction earning a little chuckle from the older man.
[{ 🦋 }} - "Anyway, let's not keep Mr. Sandalago waiting too long."
The trio set off, making their way to town square where he had asked them to meet with him, the three are about halfway there, before Zero stops in his tracks upon someone familiar catching his eye- upon a closer look, it appeared to be none other than Masako Hara. Noticing that Zero has stopped walking, the two older investigators stop and look back, Minato being the first to ask.
[{ 🦋 }} - "What it is, Zero?" He asked.
[{ 👻 }] - "Her, that's what." He pointed out, looking exactly in the direction where Zero was pointing, Minato does in fact, recognize the young lady from afar, it was Masako, was she also here for her show?
[{ 🦋 }] - "Hey, guys. I already added my voiceover leading up to the interview, do you two mind going to meet with Mr. Sandalago? I'm gonna go see what she's doing here."
Takashi nodded, they were friends after all, the older man knew what Minato was thinking as well, he's known the lead investigator long enough to tell what he was thinking on several occasions.
[{ 👻 }] - "Sure, I'll ask him the questions Zero can man the camera, since this is the last thing we gotta do today, meet us back at the hotel two hours before lockdown so we can prepare." Minato nodded and the three temporarily parted ways.
Making his way over to the medium, passing by some people in his trek through town square, the second he saw her turn his way, their eyes lock, and he offered her a friendly smile with a wave, his hand returning to his side once he's standing before her, his 6'1 height towering over hee, finally greeted her. It wasn't unusual seeing Masako outside of Japan, in fact, there had been a few times where the two of them had seen each other in other countries, the both of them had very famous television shows after all, with their own respective paranormal shows, and more often times than not, it did require a lot of traveling.
[{ 🦋 }} - "Well what do you know, good to see you Hara-Chan. It's been a while since we've met outside of Japan like this. How are you doing? Here filming an episode of your show, too?"

You know, I didn't dislike the Kaguya battle as much as I thought that I might. I'd probably have different, more interesting feelings on this if I'd been reading "Naruto" properly instead of skipping over a bunch of stuff in the middle, but I'd already been spoiled on her as a villain and expected her appearance. And also the story has dropped so many threads and fumbled the landing of so many character arcs by this point that the vibes were kind of like, "Sure, this might as well happen next."
My favorite parts of that excruciatingly long final battle were anytime the fight involved ugly, complicated personal histories between characters. So, I liked "Hashirama versus Madara" and "Tobirama versus Madara". (I initially went looking for the "Senju versus Uchiha" flashback chapters (622ish; 619-ish is where Orochimaru resurrects the previous Hokages) and kept on reading from there out of curiosity.) And I also really liked the "Kakashi versus Obito" moments and "Minato (+ Naruto + Tobirama) versus Obito".
Thinking about it now, it seems really weird that there wasn't a bigger emotional confrontation between Sasuke and Madara, or else one between Sasuke and Obito. Sasuke seemed kind of checked out for most of the battle until it was time to him to fight Naruto after Kaguya was defeated. I guess he's just done with most of this shit after Itachi died. But Madara and Obito are partially responsible for a lot of the tragedy in Sasuke's life? I guess yelling at the villains for being shitty people and shitty family is already Naruto's job...
There's a lot about Kaguya that I actually think is kind of cool. She's pretty scary. I think the lore is pretty neat, actually. And even though she has basically zero personal connection to any of our heroes (Sasunaru being reincarnations of her descendants do not count as "personal" connections in my eyes), the Kaguya battle FINALLY cut the cast down to a far more reasonable number of people so that the story stopped being split in half-a-dozen different directions.
It's just Team 7 plus Obito! We're down to like 6-8 characters (depending on whether or not you count Zetsu, and also the Sage of the Six Paths, I guess). Nicely focused! I liked seeing Team 7 reunited and struggling forward together to save the world all on their own. I thought that this narrowed focus helped the pacing a lot, especially because the fight with her specifically didn't actually drag on for very long, and so I found it surprisingly easy to get through her part of the super long final battle compared to some of the earlier waffling back and forth between Madara and Obito and Zetsu.

Kishimoto & Yahagi Interview for Naruto 4th Official Databook (Nov. 4th, 2014)
Thank you so much to @narutouzumakiarchive who found and reblogged a post from a deactivated account that had shared a link to all scans of this databook and I found this interview right at the very end!
Masashi Kishimoto-sensei and Kosuke Yahagi Talk: Secrets of "NARUTO" that have never been told before will be revealed here…!? All about the characters and sake!!
The key to character design is the eyes
―I would like to ask Kishimoto-sensei and Yahagi-san, who was the series' first editor, about the creation of the world-building in the early stages of the work, particularly regarding the characters and their techniques.
Kishimoto & Yahagi: Please take care of us.
―First, I have a question for Kishimoto-sensei. Where do most of the characters in "NARUTO" come from?
Kishimoto: In most cases, it's character first, then technique.
―Do you proceed in a way that suggests a certain type of character would use a certain type of technique?
Kishimoto: Rather than that, I look at how the character fits in with the characters around them as a whole, making sure there are no overlaps, and I expand on the ideas from fixed aspects such as the character's family and background, and if I can imagine something along those lines, I give it shape.
―What is most important to you, Kishimoto-sensei, when designing a character?
Kishimoto: The eyes. I made sure the shape of the eyes didn't overlap with other characters.
―So the eyes.
Kishimoto: There isn't much of a philosophical approach like "drawing the eyes lively." I make sure that the designs don't overlap and that each character has a different look. When I first brought it in, Yahagi-san told me that "putting dark circles under the protagonist's eyes doesn't fit the style of a shonen magazine," so I stopped doing that. I also got advice to give the protagonist monolids. And "make the rival have double eyelids." Double eyelids give a more alluring look and seem to suggest that the character is thoughtful, which suits a rival. Monolids, on the other hand, give a bright and energetic image, making them suitable for a shonen magazine protagonist.
―So such a rule exists?
Yahagi: It's just my personal impression or how I feel it (laughs).
The Fourth was portrayed with a scary impression
Yahagi: When you think about it, it's pretty amazing that Naruto resembles both his father and mother. Even though they have different faces, you can see traits of both of them in him. As for his eyes, his mother's eyes are a bit more prominent inward, right? The shape of her eyes is probably the same as Naruto's.
Kishimoto: I made them the same as Naruto's.
Yahagi: The line of the eyes is just a bit different, right? Like, if you were to make them double-lidded.
Kishimoto: I just slightly make the inner line more pronounced, and basically draw it as a single eyelid. For Minato, I draw the eyes a bit smaller and make the line double-lidded.
Yahagi: And then made them a little thinner vertically.
―When you were designing Naruto, did you have some idea of the designs for Kushina and Minato?
Kishimoto: No, not at all. But the Fourth Hokage's face was depicted at the beginning of the story. Initially, I drew him with a very strong image, but halfway through, I thought, "This isn't right." So, when he actually appeared, I made sure to depict him with a gentle image.
Expanding the character's framework is important.
―Now, let's take a look at the concept sketches that Kishimoto-sensei made before the series began and get closer to the source of his character designs. Which one was the first one you drew?
Kishimoto: Since Naruto was already done, it would be the Itachi team in this sketch. They were supposed to be Naruto's enemies, but only a few settings and names remained.
―Yahagi-san, what advice did you give when your sensei was creating the characters?
Yahagi: First of all, I thought we needed to expand the visual framework by introducing character variations. So, we discussed balancing not just cool characters but also those with a bit of quirkiness or older characters. Even during the Chunin Exams, we decided to have a cool girl character for each squad, characters with unique traits like Lee.
Kishimoto: Yahagi-san drew the original design for Lee.
Yahagi: The design that came up was completely different from the original draft, but it was really great. I was really happy about that.
Kishimoto: Even so, the characters started to look more and more similar, so we had to be careful.
Yahagi: We expanded the variety by making use of original characters. Gaara is an example of that. It's a great design, isn't it?
Kishimoto: This Kumamaru illustration is the original form of Gaara.
Yahagi: Originally, we were planning to include this in the main story, right?
Kishimoto: Yes. After many twists and turns, including revisions to the character name and design, he became the Gaara we know today.
―I see that there's a design for Gaara. Let's take a look at the other drawings too.
Yahagi: This is Genma, right?
Kishimoto: Yes, that's right. This is the first Kakashi I drew.
Yahagi: That brings back memories. Zabuza was originally this one too.
Kishimoto: At first, there was a bear next to him, but then it was decided that it would be better to make him human, and that's how Haku was born. Yahagi-san named Zabuza.
Yahagi: What was it originally?
Kishimoto: Momochi Momotaro (laughs). Another unforgettable thing about Zabuza is the length of his sword.
Yahagi: There was something piercing the top and bottom of a gigantic hideout, and when I asked, I was told it was a sword. Like 100m in length.
Kishimoto: Initially, there was a concept for Naruto to grow as huge as a bridge, so I thought it had to be big to compete with that.
Yahagi: When I asked, I was told that the sword was foldable and would unfold later.
―There is a system in place, isn't there?
Yahagi: It's amazing how he's trying to make everything fit together properly.
―There's also an illustration showing all the ninja gathered together.
Yahagi: You've drawn a lot of people.
Kishimoto: My imagination was really broad. I drew so many mob characters even though I had no plans to use them.
Yahagi: And I guess you don't use them that much.
Kishimoto: No. There's this one, Kidomaru, one of the Sound Four Ninja. This one has two heads, so Sakon and Ukon. There's also Jirobou.
―You were reviewing the sketch later, weren't you?
Kishimoto: This Six-Tails is a tailed beast. N° 6 has six tails, N°9 has nine tails. At this point, I had already thought about the concept of the tailed beasts to some extent.
Is Absolute Defense modeled after a candy toy?
―Another thing I want to ask is, who is the most memorable character for you two?
Kishimoto: For me it was Sasuke. It was difficult to draw his facial expressions well, so Yahagi-san often asked me to correct him. His face is childlike, but it's really hard to convey a cool, mature vibe. The more we corrected it, the more it either became too cool or, conversely, too mischievous. We made quite detailed adjustments to the shape of his eyes and so on.
Yahagi: Since he is the complete opposite of Naruto, I wanted him to have a cool vibe. However, I didn't think he was struggling with the drawings. He was drawn so well from the beginning. On the contrary, I remember he was struggling with the lines. The lines themselves were also significantly reduced.
Kishimoto: I cut them down to the point where it would no longer make sense if I cut them down any more.
―So that's how Sasuke's cool image was built. Tell us about your favorite character, Yahagi-san.
Yahagi: It's got to be Gaara. I think I like Gaara's designs and techniques the best. When he fights the Hidden Rain ninja in the Chunin Exams, there's a technique where he defends himself with sand that has turned into an eggshell. That was modeled after a chocolate egg (a candy toy with a figurine inside an egg-shaped chocolate).
―Really!?
Yahagi: It was really popular within the editorial department at the time. When I saw it, I thought it'd be interesting if there was a monster-like child inside the egg.
―Did you two discuss that?
Kishimoto: Yes. There was also a rule that you couldn't move. I think we also decided on attacking with the arms crossed. We decided on it while discussing it.
Naming the technique is very important.
―Next time, I'd like to ask you about techniques. When you think about ninjutsu, what do you place importance on?
Kishimoto: It's about making sure it doesn't deviate from the character's image. Also, it should align with the character's own established traits. We consider it within the range that can be inferred from their attributes and lineage.
―So you create it in a way that doesn't deviate from the worldview. As an editor, what did you consider important when creating the art, Yahagi-san?
Yahagi: First and foremost, the visual appeal when it becomes a drawing. I also think the name is important. It should have a name that makes you want to shout it out, like a special move. Additionally, if possible, it should evoke the mechanism and effect of the technique. Clear enough to understand without sounding silly. I wanted to minimize explanations as much as possible.
―According to an interview published in the previously released magazine "Famous Words," (Kizuna: the words that bind) Yahagi-san rejected the names of techniques many times. Why was it?
Yahagi: To put it simply, I wanted to convey the world view. Especially at the beginning of the series, I was concerned that if we introduced too many different terms, readers might find it difficult to grasp this ninja world.
Kishimoto: If I may say something about that, in short, the technique names were kind of lame... There was no consistency in how the names were given, and they were all over the place. We just named them on a whim (laughs). I think there was a somewhat consistent image, but more than that, it was about what sounded cool at the time. It was really on a whim.
Yahagi: After all, I think it's better if the jutsu names at the beginning of the story don't feel too scattered. Something like "Sharingan" or "Kekkei Genkai," while creating a setting that connects to the current developments and solidifying the foundation. It's really great when the world expands gradually after a certain degree of the worldview has been established, isn't it?
Kishimoto: My sense for naming techniques may have changed once Yahagi-san was no longer in charge.
Yahagi: Which ones, for example?
Kishimoto: Like Killer Bee, for example. If Yahagi-san had been in charge, he might not have appeared.
Yahagi: I love this character, including the technique names! But I think it must be tough to come up with that dialogue every time.
Kishimoto: It's very hard to explain something with that way of speaking, so I get other characters to do it.
Yahagi: So, instead, the eight-tails will explain. It's nice that the setting of him being such good friends with the eight-tails comes to life in this way.
Kishimoto: In my mind, I thought we needed to incorporate some different elements compared to when Yahagi was in charge, so I decided to give it a try.
The origin of the technique is the "Oiroke no Jutsu" (Sexy Jutsu)
―Again, I would like to ask about the techniques. What was the first technique you ever thought of?
Yahagi: The first one I drew was the classic "transformation technique." Well, it's originally used in a lot of ninja manga…
Kishimoto: From there, it developed into the Shadow Clone Technique and the Sexy Jutsu.
Yahagi: That's right.
Kishimoto: But when it comes to originals, isn't "Sexy Jutsu" the one? I think it has more entertainment value than "Transformation Technique." Also, there's the "Harem Technique" that we used in the second episode. There was an unforgettable episode when I suggested during a meeting, "Since we used the "Charm Technique" last time, why don't we combine it with the "Shadow Clone Technique" to make a "Harem Technique"?" Yahagi-san laughed, and said, "Let's get serious about the meeting now," (laughs). I was joking, but when I tentatively suggested it again, he said, "Let's give it a try," and when I drew it, he said, "It's interesting." It's a technique that holds a lot of memories.
―What is your favorite technique, sensei?
Kishimoto: The most fun to draw is Choji's "Super Multi-Size Technique." Just draw it big and it will look good, so don't worry about the details. On the other hand, the hardest is the "multiple shadow clone technique" (laughs). You have to keep moving your hand [to draw].
―As an editor, what is it about a technique that makes you think, "This is amazing", Yahagi-san?
Yahagi: There are so many of them. But the mechanisms of the eye techniques are becoming increasingly complex, so I think it must be quite challenging. Izanami traps you in an infinite loop, and Izanagi breaks you out of it. It's difficult to even think about what would happen if they were combined, let alone explain it. Also, the techniques with amazing movements like "Shishi Rendan" (Lion Combo/Barrage) and "Front Lotus" have always excited me since the beginning of the series.
―The time is up. Finally, Yahagi-san, please give a message to Kishimoto-sensei.
Yahagi: Thank you so much for your hard work with the serialization over such a long period of time. Please take a short break and come back with another manga. The readers are also great!
The message on the Naruto illustration by Kishimoto says:
This is a book that all of our staff worked hard to create! I hope this book will become an important one for everyone… Thank you to everyone who read Jin no Sho!! -Kishimoto

Random Ryoji headcanons
This is pure and utter indulgence once again. Have I written down these thoughts before? Probably, but I’ve had these little thoughts rolling around in my head for a while. I hope you guys enjoy these goofy little thoughts, bc I can’t put together a scenario I like, but I’ve got these.
Ryoji loves sugary sweet treats and drinks. After all, there’s nothing to stop him from over-indulging.
He has a bit of a twitch after the attempted fall.
He also has a little bit of chronic pain after that. That might happen when your body is stretched and contorted into the Nyx avatar.
He can shape shift to some extent. A skill namely used when he changed from Pharos to Ryoji, so yes, technically his appearance isn’t really his natural look, but he’s emotionally attached to that identity now.
Ryoji’s wings shimmer with irredescent colors when they move
His feathers also have an absolutely TOXIC vibe that even makes Minato unconsciously shake slightly.
This reaches from gender changing to something as simple as his weight.
He’s an absolutely bomb singer when he legitimately tries. He does not do that often.
His shadow form’s fangs are somewhat small. Just barely long enough to somewhat be visible behind his lips.
He is a pretty physically affectionate man. Cuddles, hugs, holding hands, he’s very lovey in those ways
He will straight up eat nothing but fucking sugar sometimes.
Ryoji also loves pillows and plush toys
He uses them to make a nest to lay in, even if he doesn’t require sleep.
If you don’t know what to get Ryoji, just get him a pillow. So long as it’s not a horrible texture, he’ll adore it.
Ryoji’s also pretty partial to soft blankets.
Despite being a bit softer in the body shape, with a belly that muffin tops over his pants’ waistband, Ryoji can straight up juggle all of the SEES if he wanted to.
Whether or not he can teleport is up for debate. Junpei is convinced he can, Minato’s pretty sure that he simply sneaks around really fucking well, and Ryoji won’t confirm nor deny any thought.
Minato has asked him what a soul tastes like, and Ryoji has described it as tasting different depending on the person, but most tend to taste like the general concept of ‘good’. No real flavor, just ‘this tastes good’.
He can hear people’s heartbeats and see their souls from a pretty impressive distance.
In reality, he does sort of just sneak around. He doesn’t teleport, he just takes advantage of his years of experience hunting humans and the human brain’s refusal to acknowledge death to scare the shit out of people.
He loves to hear Minato’s heartbeat when they cuddle while Minato sleeps.
He is in therapy, and he may or may not have sent at least one therapist to therapy.
Ryoji’s tastebuds are so wonky from technically being built to eat souls, that when he cooks he either forgets to season the food, or seasons it until he can taste it. AKA over seasons it until you can feel the salt in your teeth.
He ironically likes cooking videos. No, I do not know why I think this, but it vibes correctly for him.
Those videos do not do shit to keep him from slapping sprinkles into cheeto-flavored mac and cheese.

He wakes up thirsty.
Minato groans and drapes an arm over his eyes. He’s thirsty, but his bed is supremely warm and comfortable. Is he thirsty enough to truly make it worth abandoning this earthly paradise?
He peers over his forearm at his alarm clock and frowns. It’s about five minutes until midnight, so if he wants something from the vending machines– although definitely not Mad Bull, now that he thinks about it– he’d better mount the expedition soon.
He spends the next two minutes debating with himself, weighing the pros and cons like a miser. Eventually thirst wins out, so Minato claws his way up from his bed and shambles his way, zombie-style, to the door.
Only half a step into the hall he freezes. He isn’t the only one up and about: Aragaki eases his door closed behind him, holding the knob so the latch doesn’t make any noise. His steps are carefully controlled and quiet as he moves down the hall and towards the stairs. It doesn’t seem like he notices Minato.
Normally, Minato wouldn’t bother him– Aragaki has mentioned his occasional bouts of insomnia before, and now and then the dorm has woken up to find that plastic containers of home cooked something-or-other had mysteriously appeared in the fridge overnight. Minato could just grab his drink and go, except…
Aragaki is in his battle gear, evoker and armband included. Rooted in place, Minato frowns as he watches Aragaki disappear into the stairwell. A moment later, the familiar green glow of the Dark Hour seeps throughout the dorm.
So much for getting something to drink.
Suddenly Minato is wide awake. He dives back into his room to gear up– he’s never put his armor on faster. His mind races: why is Aragaki going out during the Dark Hour? He’s supposed to be resting!
His injuries, his health– everything is still so touch-and-go with Aragaki right now. Just going to school and being subjected to social interaction has been leaving him exhausted, and now he’s heading out into an active combat zone dressed like he’s expecting a fight?
He’s only just finished tugging on his pants when he catches the sound of the front doors opening and closing, easy to hear in the catacomb silence of the Dark Hour. Only now does it occur to Minato that he could have just called out to Aragaki to stop him from– doing whatever he thinks he’s doing.
He feels silly. He feels stupid. He curses his sleepy, sluggish brain and thinks, not for the first time, that being The Fool really does suit him.
Well, it’s too late now. He’s got a senpai to catch, and he’s already given him enough of a lead. It might even be better this way, since confronting Aragaki in the hall or even the lounge would run the risk of waking someone else and causing a scene.
Aragaki will probably be mad about being followed, but that’s fine. Maybe by the time he catches up, Minato will be able to manage getting mad in return. Right now though, all he feels is adrenaline-spiked worry. He could never forgive himself if something happened to his friend when he could have stopped it.
Minato quickly yanks his jacket on and finally he’s ready to give chase. He grabs his sword belt with the intention of buckling it on the go. As he does, something else strikes him, a detail that he’d missed before– Aragaki hadn’t been carrying his axe.
Should Minato go get it and bring it with him? Of course, that would be assuming he can even get into Aragaki’s room…
Which, as he discovers, he can’t. Aragaki had locked the door behind him. Minato supposes he can take some solace from that, since it almost certainly means that Aragaki does indeed have every intention of coming back. It’s probably just as well, anyway. Aragaki makes it look easy, carrying that thing around, but Minato doubts he could manage to get it downstairs without falling and breaking his neck and waking up everyone else in the dorm while he was at it.
…God, what on earth could Aragaki possibly be thinking, going out into the Dark Hour alone and only half armed? This is the sort of thing he’d tear into Sanada for if he tried it. The hypocrisy would be almost comical if it wasn’t so concerning at the moment.
Minato scurries down the stairs and out into the street with the lightest tread he can manage. Aragaki is nowhere in sight, and as far as Minato can tell he hadn’t done anything like conveniently stepping in one of the puddles that the Dark Hour spontaneously generates and leaving behind a trail of lurid red, easily trackable bootprints.
There are a few places Minato can think of where Aragaki might be headed, and one that he’s guaranteed to avoid, but Minato has no clue how to narrow the list down further to where Aragaki is most likely to go. He’ll have to guess and get lucky.
Now he’s really kicking himself for deciding to save his money instead of fusing Norn when he had the chance this afternoon. Maybe having a Fortune Persona on him wouldn’t make a difference when it came to actual luck, but it would have been good for his nerves.
Minato takes a deep breath, makes his decision, and prays he chose right.

Venomous Naruto, Jiriya.
Is he still technically Naruto’s godfather? If so I imagine it would only be because politics kept Minato and Kushina from directly naming Orochimaru and they figured Jiriya would give Naruto to him like he did with Minato.
No matter what, though, all the kids have a kill on sight mentality when it comes to Jiriya. (Orochimaru doesn't discourage this, especially after Jiriya made a "comment" on Anko's appearance. )
Oh even before Naruto was in the picture or Jiraiya came back to the village the kids had a kill on might order for him.
All of them have seen how the weight of his missing team has worn on Oro. Have seen how loss after loss has affected him and still neither one of them have come home. Have heard time and time again how Minato was Jiraiya’s student when he left half of the actual teaching in Oro’s hands and didn’t even bother sticking around after the funeral when their mother was shattering after the loss of another person he cared about so much. Adding Naruto into that equation? Hearing time and time again how badly their baby brother suffered because Oro couldn’t be named his true guardian in the first place? They want to bounce him off the concrete. On top of all of that him making advances on their sister? This man is not getting out without moderate to severe poisoning and more than a few stab wounds at least.
Jiraiya has an unpleasant awakening waiting for him back in the village as Oro has no intention of stopping his brood from exacting revenge and is in fact going to join him when he hears about Jiriaya sexualizing Naruto’s female form.

Naruto’s parents meet his adoptive family
“Oniichan!”
Kushina and Minato could only stare as their only son turned around and kneeled to welcome twin toddlers into his arms.
“You’re back,” one of them said.
“Ruchan was freakin’ out,” the other added.
“Language!”
Naruto and the twins froze as the other two looked up to watch two shinobis coming their way. It took another moment for Minato to realize the one who had spoken was no other than Kohari and Ikkaku’s son, but literally no time at all to recognize his old student walking next to him.
“Naruto?” Iruka called.
Naruto moved immediately. He got up and walked the small distance between them as Iruka opened his arms. They hugged but soon the obviously relieved expression on Iruka’s face turned into a thunderous one and they understood why Kakashi had stopped a step behind them.
Iruka suddenly grabbed Naruto by his jacket’s collar and started shaking him:
“What the hell were you thinking?! No, you clearly weren’t thinking at all as always!! You were supposed to babysit the twins!! And what, you decide to experiment with their Jikūkan Ninjutsu like it’s some kind of game?! You are lucky they didn’t accidentally kill you, you idiot!! Do you hear me?! You could have died, Naruto!! What were we supposed to do if you had died?!”
“I-I’m dizzy,” Naruto managed finally.
Iruka stopped. He looked shaken under the last trace of his anger. He let go of Naruto’s collar to grab his shoulders.
“You can’t disappear on us like that, Naruto,” he added. “Do you hear me?”
“Uh, I’m sorry,” Naruto answered.
“You better be.”
Iruka’s frown turned into a soft smile after another beat. He brought his and Naruto’s forehead together, closing his eyes.
“Welcome home.”
And that’s when Kakashi moved forward, joining the other two. One of his arms came around Iruka while he put a hand on Naruto’s head before bringing their foreheads together as well.
“Welcome home, kid,” he said.
“Glad to be home,” Naruto answered with a sheepish smile.
There was a pause before Naruto remembered their visitors. Both Kushina and Minato had already started to fade when he turned back towards them.
“Wait!” he exclaimed. “I want you to meet my family.”
He pointed to the twins who had been staring at Minato.
“This is my little sister, Ren, and my little brother, Jun,” Naruto started before motioning towards Kakashi. “You already know Papashi - I mean Kakashi-Sensei. He has been around for a while, Iruka likes him.”
Naruto’s fake detached expression turned more serious before he grabbed Iruka and pushed him forward, startling the older man.
“Naruto!”
“And this,” Naruto added. “This is Iruka. He was the one who adopted me.”
“Uh, Kushina-sama, Minato-sama,” Iruka said, bowing respectfully.
When he straightened anew, it was to find himself in Kushina’s embrace. She hugged him tightly and he only hesitated a moment before hugging her back.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
Minato walked to an uncertain Kakashi. His former student's gaze kept traveling between his eyes and the floor. He grabbed one of his shoulders.
“Thank you,” Minato echoed.
“Maa, like Naruto said, Iruka was the one who adopted him,” Kakashi said.
“But I couldn’t have done it without you,” Iruka corrected him.
“Thank you, to both of you,” Kushina said again.
Edit: Bonus Scene:
“NARUTO-KUN!”
A furious looking Sakura appeared at the end of the corridor and Naruto visibly blanched. She walked to him clearly ready to hit him and yet her blow never landed. When Naruto dared to open his eyes again, there was a tall dark figure standing between Sakura and he.
“Uh, ANBU-san?” Sakura said.
“Naruto-kun already suffered from one concussion today,” the ANBU - Itachi - said. “That might be enough, don’t you think Sakura-san?”
Sakura deflated while Naruto blushed. Also, he wasn’t sure if Iruka was giving him or Itachi the stink eyes right now but he wasn’t in a hurry to find out.
