As the saying goes,' When a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin. One side greatness, the other madness'.

However, it seems that the gods are having difficulty deciding the fate of the newest Targaryen as the labour of Princess Aemma continued for almost 15 hours.

Finally, at noon, the wails of a baby echoed throughout the palace. Queen Alysanne was the first person to be out of the birthing chamber while carrying something in her arms. The people standing outside gazed at the babe with astonished eyes.

" Mother, this is ?" Crown Prince Baelon was the first to snap out of the awestruck daze." this is my great granddaughter who her family will most cherish and this entire realm ." Queen Alysanne proudly stated.

" Give her to me, Alysanne. I too want to hold her in my arms." The old King demanded his sister-wife. "You can hold her later, Issa valzȳrys. Let the father first hold his babe ." The Queen handed the child to her still-dazed father.

" She is so tiny, father." Prince Viserys softly whispered with adoration. The Prince was carefully holding the baby as if she were a fragile thing who might break at a single touch.

"Congrats on becoming a father, cousin" Princess Rhaenys congratulated Prince Viserys after coming out from the birthing chamber. Even after becoming the wife of Corlys Velaryon,the wealthiest man in Westeros,the Princess still kept her title.

" Thank you, Rhaenys. I hoped Corylys and your children would be present upon this occasion." Prince Viserys said to his cousin. Princess Rhaenys had given birth to two healthy velaryon children three years ago. " The children can't travel on Melys due to their age, Viserys. But Corlys will soon arrive before the feast ." The Velaryon matriarch smoothly replied.

" Grandmother, I forgot to ask about Aemma. Is she okay?" Prince Viserys suddenly realised about not seeing the mother of his child who would want to see her babe. Realisation seemed to have dawned on her too ." She must have taken bathe and be resting in bed, go see her now with the babe, Viserys".

The peaceful Prince and his daughter went to see Princess Aemma. At the same time, the good Queen ordered everyone outside to go prepare for the grand feast only for their immediate family amidst the whining of her husband and son to hold the newborn Targaryen.

Inside the chamber, Princess Aemma could be seen lying on the bed. The aftermath of childbirth took a toll on her as she grew tired.

" Aemma, look who had come to see you." Viserys who was his daughter calmly said. Hearing his voice, Princess Aemma groggily woke from her nap.

Upon seeing her husband holding their baby, whatever fatigue she had seem to be completely disappeared.

" Oh my god! My darling Princess. I am your mother. Oh, Viserys ! She is perfect. Our daughter is perfect." Princess Aemma starts to softly cry while looking at her daughter. The babe seems to have sensed her mother because she suddenly opened her eyes for the first time. Her parents both gasped at seeing her eyes. One eye was emerald green while the other was Targaryen violet. Viserys' eyes glistened with tears as his own mother, Alyssa Targaryen, had two different eye colours. Looking at his daughter now - silver blonde hair with heterochromatic eyes is like looking at his mother's face once again.

If his father had seen her now, he would have broken into tears and said his mother had been reborn as his daughter.

"Do you have anything in mind regarding her name, darling?" Prince Viserys asked his wife." You had once told me that your mother was fond of the name

'Mariana' and wanted to name her daughter that, Viserys." Princess Aemma told.  " Yes. She indeed wanted that name for her daughter. However, her wish went unfulfilled. " Viserys mirthfully said.

"Hence, I want to fulfil your mother's wish by keeping the name for our daughter in your mother's honour, Viserys " Princess Aemma said with a gentle smile.

" Mariana Targaryen is indeed a name fit for a princess, Aemma. Everyone is going to love her name" Viserys said while softly gazing at his daughter now sleeping in his arms.

It is said that the coin has never flipped on one side as the gods can't decide Mariana Targaryen's fate which made her life full of uncertain future. But one thing is sure. Mariana Targaryen will be the only chance for the house of the dragon to be stopped from destruction.

Hi, this is my first request (ever), I was wandering if you could write a one shot of RoP Elrond/fem! reader where the reader is really good with kids but Elrond is kind of awkward around them. While he's working group of small children come and interrupt Elrond and the reader finds Elrond in this predicament and shoos them away, causing Elrond to fall more in love with the reader than he already was.

Curious Minds

It is not that Elrond does not enjoy children; in fact, he very much enjoys them. Their curiosity and joy is infectious, and he loves to see the future of his people exploring their paths and becoming men and woman that pursue their own passions and become great leaders, artists, generals, healers, and scholars.

The issue is that he does not understand how to be around them. They ask many questions and do not wish to sit still long enough for the answer, they have too much energy, and they have an insatiable appetite for destruction—even the well-behaved ones!

So when a group of children approaches him while he is sitting beside the river working on the High-King’s newest speech, he’s unsure of how to proceed.

“You are Lord Elrond, the High-King’s Herald, yes?” One asks.

Before he can answer, another pipes up. “Do you enjoy your job?”

Again, he tries to answer.

“Where is your wife? I thought all the Lords had ladies?”

His cheeks tint pink as he scrambles to come up with an answer as all the children latch onto that particular question, clambering for his response, their curious eyes staring up at him impatiently.

“Perhaps it is because he read too much, my mother said I would never find a husband if all I do is stay inside and read.” A young elven girl says, a pout on her lips, her brown hair in a simple braid.

“I do not think that is true, I would like a wife who reads, then we could talk about our favorite stories.” A boy her age says, his cheeks slowly blossoming a bright red as he scoots closer to the pouting girl.

“We already do that, Melis.” She says annoyed before her friends begin to tease her, and she drops her gaze to the ground.

“Melis and Vya are married!” One of the other children shouts, causing the others to take up his words.

Soon it is a fervent chant and Elrond is frantically looking around trying to find a way to escape this gaggle of tiny chanters.

“Children, how many times must I tell you not to wander off during garden time?” A melodic voice breaks through the high-pitched chanting, and Elrond stands abruptly, sensing an escape.

You hurry up the path, brow furrowed with worry that only dissipates when you see all the children are accounted for. “And you have been bothering the Lord Herald? That is quite inappropriate, please apologize to Lord Elrond.” Your voice is stern and the children’s faces fall.

“It—they were no bother, truly.” Elrond stutters, inclining his head towards you.

“Lord Elrond, please, do not speak falsehoods to cover for these troublemakers.” You warn playfully, the children already gathered around you, some clinging to your skirt for comfort.

“I speak plainly, they merely had questions for me.” He reiterates, giving you a shy smile.

You smile back at him. “Oh, is that so?”

“We wished to know why he was not married.”

A look of shock flashed across your face. “I—Lord Elrond, I am deeply sorry, I swear to you, I do not teach the children to ask such personal questions.”

Elrond waved his hand dismissively. “I am not offended.”

You bent down and directed the children to return to their classroom before approaching Elrond. “You must forgive them; we are learning about courtship rituals, and they are merely curious.”

Elrond nodded, then gathered his courage, taking your hand and pressing it to his lips. “Perhaps I might declare my intention to court you, then? Allow us to further our knowledge of each other and give the children a more personal example?”

Your cheeks warmed under his gaze, and you nodded. “That would be wonderful.”

“I shall come collect you from your quarters at seven, then, for a walk in the gardens.” He smiled then bowed slightly, taking his leave.

You did then same, the both of you smiling brightly as you made your way back to your individual duties.

16 - favorite place to write

Oh, you know, I WISH I had a favorite place to write. I don't really have my work place for writing and drawing, just a very uncomfortable desk. I really crave some small corner where I would feel comfortable, but for several reasons, I don't have it. So, basically, I usually write on the couch with ma laptop, and it became some kind of comfort. But I also love writing in coffee shops, so I think it counts too :3

22 do you ever worry about public reaction to what you’re writing? how do you get past that?

Meli, you just hit the spot :D I can't say I'm like *worried-worried*, but I wish I had more feedback to understand how it's received. I value a feedback, so I can understand if my writing style and/or my writing point of view have some impact the way I intended - but I don't have a lot of it. I cherish and appreciate every single word I receive, but I won't lie - I would love to have more (and here I mean both - feedback and adequate criticism), so I think sometimes that my stories aren't great enough. At some point, it's also demotivating, but I love writing much, much more than anything, so I keep remind myself this.

27 your favorite part of the writing process

Oh, the *actual* writing! Plotting and everything is great, but I love a lot to play with the different approaches and the way to convey different emotions and situations. I really love to search for the metaphor or comparison - usually, not so evident (and well, I don't know if I succeed in it, but I do my best) - to show the certain idea/emotions/parallel/intensify the moment. It's such a cathartic moment when I finally found *THAT* one way to deliver what I want, so it's definitely the favorite part.

28 your least favorite part of the writing process

Proofreading. It's just the step when I'm hit with the stone that English is not my first language (and not even second), and I'm always get a bit anxious, if I managed to rewrite everything the correct way (spoiler: no, I don't, I still have mistakes, I know it, but well :D)

The Winter Solstice on Tol Himring

The-begining-of-Third-Age-AU includes alive girldad Nelyo, uncle Cano and happy childhood on small northern island.

Festive traditions on Himring is a combo of those which Mae, Cano and other brought from Valinor (there wasn't real winter and special winter feasts, so they just chose what they liked more or found relevant) and those which were borrowed from edain.

There're A LOT of candles and bonfires around. Lil' Almy is a hurricane in elfing body and her mother Melis extraordinary ungainly in casual occurences despit being a great fencer. Small ignitions are just part of everyday life.

Holly sprig is hanged at the door to the main dining room and there is omen that people, who came into that door together will stay together the whole next year.

(I'm pretty sure that such omen exists somewhere in real world, but I couldn't find it during the preparation)

Anyway, this tradition came from edain

Small items are thrown into cups of wine and everybody randomly choose the cup and their destiny for the next year.

Many years ago Melis chocked on Maedhros' ring almost to death. They married the next autumn.

Almy is too young to drink wine, but she's really enjoing picking items for throwing into it. If you can't find something, you should, probably, look at wine cups.

Traditional pie is filled with meat and berries. Melis learned to bake it from old adaneth on Amon Ereb. Almy and Maglor are pretending to help, but mostly they're just pilfering filling (and, in Almy's case, even raw dough).

After the dinner everybody seat near the fireplace and tell scary stories, but always with happy ending.

Almy loves winter, not only because of this feast, she just loves winter and missed it very much after sailing to Valinor. She was happy when grandfather Naro took her to Formenos (I'll write this chapter in my fic about them one day).

Open starter

Midwinter was close and Melihël loved winter. Everything was covered in the soft white blanket of snow and gave the world a new form. On top of that, she didn't feel the cold, thanks to her fiendish bloodline, and could enjoy the wonders of the season in full.

She adventured out to see the fields already white, feeling suffocated in the streets of Baldur's gate. The air was chilly - or so they told her -, the sky was painted in a plethora of greys and it was silently snowing, covering Meli's horns and robe and everything around her. She reached out a hand and a snowflake with intricate patterns fell on it. She smiled softly at the sight, memories of her passed happy family playing in the snow playing in her mind.

In a wave of childish enthusiasm, she made a perfect round snowball with great care, like the ones she did with her brothers: satisfied with its shape, she immediately threw with full force… but without seeing the person standing not too far away. The snowball hit them in the back, a perfect score wasted on an accident.

“I apologise!” She quickly said, walking fast towards her accidental victim. “I haven't seen you there, I’m truly sorry.”

I like the idea of dr.retro and pest being melaine cgs I have to learn more about them before I can give more concrete hcs but I feel like if Stat was ever around pest melaine would learn their not on the best of terms and make them apologize to each other also mozelle would be another cg(they prolly set up some tea parties whenever they're over at the castle) I feel like her bunny hop ability can be used in so many ways whether it being for playing around(jump rope or something) or if stat is in a slump she use her ability to catch her and give her a big ol hug maybe she would be taken back the first time she does this but eventually will realize she has someone that will take care of her(i just checked the wiki and her ability is called jump time but bunny hop sounds more fun) Another fun thing I'd think they do is that melaine would do little stage performances(like the one from her trailer) when they're playing together, albeight it could bring some scary thoughts to melaine, but this could be a moment where stat calm has a chance to calm her down(partly to spite folly) but since she realizes that she has someone that truly cares about her I wanted to write in gnrapy as stat's playmate but i have no idea how to write themmm Final thing that I can think of atm is that I think melaine uses her tv monitor to plays lullabies(maybe some of her own singing mixed in) It was so cute to think aboutttt(sorry went a little overboard on this one also sorry if theres any typos i'll fix it up at a later point) Imagine after a long day melaine sees how tired stat is and wants to tuck them into bed for the first time but wants to surprised them, while she puts on some footie pjs she goes to grab her a paci some fresh blankets and picks out a song in the mean time(i was gonna say some plushies as well but then I remembered that one line where stat almost confused them for being a stuffed animal soo), she comes back and they're just talking about their day in stats room and then as soon as stat starts to get a little sleepy melaine walks over and scoops them up into their arms gently, they would normally try to push away but she's too tired fight it and secretly a little surprised how easy it was to be scooped up. Melaine as she grabs one of the blankets and wraps her around in it as they start singing a gentle lullaby, the soft colors being displayed reminds stat of someone she slowly raises her arms touching the monitor, the warm heat from it makes her even more drowsy, her eyes are barley open at this point Melaine begins to tuck her in, she caresses her hair until she finishes up the song. Even though they did a great job she silently begins to question herself since there was barley anything said between each other but right as Melaine got up to turn off the light stat instinctually grabs her hand and lets out a quiet "thank you meli" before finally drifting off to sleep.

So, theory: at least last I heard, the incident behind Melinoë's ghost arm stemmed from Icarus' desire to be "[made] whole." He's quite guilty about it, to the point he disappeared - what stood out to me is his wording of being unable to "...look at anybody in the Crossroads anymore." *Anyone* in The Crossroads.

And Hecate called Icarus "that boy-shade," which to my overthinking mind feels lowkey very specific, given we have ghostly folks like Odysseus around (and then Achilles, etc. from the first game, but even so)? I'll try not to ramble too much about that theory too much (I'll just say "god-touched" and leave it at that)... but what I'm saying is, what if Icarus, pre-incident, actually had a form much more like *Dora's*? 

So he gets hands and fingers (and a face?) like he wants... but then Meli is hurt. Because of him. And there's no hiding it because she's the *princess,* and he's now stuck in this new humanlike body, and surely the shade community connected the dots (and/or spread rumors about a selfish little shade who "ascended" at great harm to their future savior). And the longer he stays, the more this "blessing" feels increasingly sour... 

Sorry for the angst. But also, I think Icarus The Shade - whether through a flashback or an unexpected plot-mandated "de-power" - would be just adorable (assuming my delusions of Icarus being an LI, LIs having multiple character portraits, and Icarus having a unique "vanilla" shade design hold ^_^;;). Thanks for, uh, letting me ramble!

Okay. Let's start with what I think is going on in the game. I've been talking to @meowtheextremechickenhorse about all this so you caught me at a great time, it's currently fresh on my mind. As I see it, in regards to the shades looking different theres 3 answers.

(In text lore reason) Since humanity is so vast, any unremarkable and uninteresting person that didn't do much of anything of note in their life is delegated to a more 'ghostly' form and they're the traditional shades we see the most of. Anyone from myth or legend or any human that had any real acclaim is given their human form to follow them into the after life, be that a positive or negative, and they're more recognizable that way. That's why Achilles and Patroclus, Theseus, (now) Odysseus, and Icarus (to name a few) have forms. They're important in some way or another and their bodies exemplify that.

(In text lore reason) Shades are given more human forms in relation to godhood. Everyone of note has interacted with gods to some varying degree, or they're somewhat divine or some combination of the two. This is just the previous reason but to the left.

(Meta reason) The game Devs didn't want to waste perfectly good game space on unimportant background mobs so they decided to have a simply drawn and easy to replicate/place model as a shorthand for the ghost infested world. Shades we readily and constantly interact with have forms because we see them often and if all of them looked the same that would get boring. Simple.

1 is the answer I'll be going with, and my HCS will follow as such but I think 3 is the objective truth lol.

Which is all to say that uh, I think that Icarus always had his form? Like I don't think the process of making him more 'whole' was to give him human form as much as it was to allow him to exercise that form on the surface again (and touch the love of his life—*loud police sirens ring out from behind me endlessly*). I actually have talked a lot about the implications of his death (and life) in the ship and it gets... weird, fast. So, my personal read of their time together goes as such.

Baby Mel and Baby (living) Icarus grow up together. His dad works with the gods or something making the hammers and tools so they're in close contact.

Around 15 or so, Icarus does his thing. Wings fail, he dies.

After having an entire lifetime of being able to freely interact and touch each other (and other things too) Icarus misses the wholeness a human form allowed him to have and he sets out to get it back. Mel helps.

She looses the arm, he leaves crossroads out of shame and guilt

they then meet up again now a few year(s?) down the line and reconnect (he's more whole then before, she's more shade then before). Back to current day events.

I like the idea you put out about Shades gossiping, because they so enjoy that, and attempting a form of isolation but I don't think it would work on him much. I think his own guilt is more than enough to have pushed him out and away from His Meli. But other then just not agreeing on general timeline and like, how he got his form, I agree with u fully anon... he feels horrible about what happened and is sick at the thought his hubris and ambition, his fatal flaw (literally) is what got her hurt.

Thankfully he'll have eternity to repent for it. By loving her. <3

good things

dany's outfits finally look like something a real person would wear thank god i was so tired of that too dark bronzer & those ugly qarth fits good god. still wish she wore less blue but the cut of the main one she’s wearing this season is very good.

SHAE AND SANSA. to me, best part of s3 and the best change they ever did & i love the way we see it shift a bit after sansa marries from shae’s end but i wish we had more introspection from sansa - not as bad as s2 where imo they cut down her part so severely that she’s only showing up to be brutalized, she’s actually doing more besides being miserable this season.

the tyrell stuff starts off really good and margaery en specific is very well done - the way she handles joffrey, the way she befriends sansa, the way she's constantly checking in with olenna. excellent.

tywin tells cersei that she’s not a good leader not bc she’s a woman but bc she’s stupid (more or less). cersei basically tells him - okay YOU try keeping joffrey in control. every other tywin-joffrey interaction after this is tywin struggling & even failing to get joffrey under control. then tyrion takes him to task about the red wedding & tywin gives that “why is it more honorable to kill 10,000 at war instead of a dozen at dinner?” mind you we JUST watched the freys & boltons slaughter everyone at the twins, including the entire army. i think this is a fun way of engaging with the point that tywin’s way of doing things is often hypocritical and doesn’t work & he just bullies his kids for no real reason except i’m not totally sure d&d is doing this on purpose altho i realize that is me being a bit harsh.

the jonygritte stuff. amazing chemistry and even when kit's acting isn't that great (cave scene is kinda corny from his end) his chemistry with rose leslie and her acting more than makes up for it. they play off each other so well. they do a really good job of breaking down all the ways jon feels trapped & the way ygritte sees it but purposefully misunderstands why.

meh things

the braime of it all is quite good but that's 100% the acting. they added brienne saying something like "you whine like a woman" to him, which ruined an otherwise well adapted scene, they cut jaime's dream AND they cut the "i dreamed of you" line.

arya & sandor road trip from hell. this is imo where arya’s characterization really starts to flanderize in the show but some of it is still good just on the strength of the acting.

stannis, meli, and davos are like. fine i guess. the shireen scenes are all quite good, they are standouts to me - her teaching davos to read, stannis arguing that he should be allowed to see her (THAT is really interesting to me too like - he feels he can't have a relationship with her because she's a girl so he doesn't but he yearns for it). but everything else is like. eh. it's there.

not opposed to swapping edric storm for gendry but the way tis handled is bad and also i miss shireen having a cousin she loves!! shireen should have been down in the dungeons trying to get to know gendry or something i feel cheated of baratheon cousins!

idk why these dudes are incapable of writing mainly political stories in any place outside king's landing but like. they cut a lot of the politics going on in stannis' camp in s3, they cut sansa's entire vale arc, they cut all the northern faction politics. are they aware political infighting can exist in places without sun or.

again. i'm not saying i'm opposed to them cutting a tyrell brother nor am i opposed to throwing olenna in the spotlight over mace. but the way it's done, where loras isn't in the kingsguard, is just kind of fucking around like an idiot unaware he's being spied on, and olenna is straight up taking mace's role rather than working around him? i'm sorry there's no way tywin would ever respect a woman like that and i know it bc he literally disrespects loreza in canon lol. diana rigg is really great tho so you win n some you lose some i guess.

they cut out like 45% of what gendry and arya are even up to but what's there is very cute tbh! when arya tells hot pie the wolf bread is good!! she's just a kid!!!!!!!!! she just wants friends!!!!!!!!

SO. we have s DIRECTLY call tyrion out for not fighting particularly hard against marrying sansa because even though some part of him does find the whole thing vile, a much larger part of him is attracted to her and does want to steal her claim out from under her and does want a "proper" wife over, as she is constantly reminding him, "shae the funny whore." and then NOT FOLLOW THROUGH and have tyrion NOT tell Sansa he DOES want to fuck her and instead of giving that "well that's what whores are for" line, he gives a "and now my watch has begun" which implies something WILDLY different. AND SANSA KNEELS FOR THIS MAN???? I FEEL RAGE!!!!!!!!

the brotherhood without banners was so bad. completely misses the point and also the sheer organization. this wasn't just like 6 dudes in a cave! it was a whole fucking operation with funding from both sides of the marches!!!!!! this is a thing they really like to do tho, default to like “the world sucks and is bleak” when the og storyline is much more nuanced.

ramsay is basically an oc. their version of ramsay is not even a little scary to me. he's the same sort of goofy quippy giggly sort of villain that littlefucker is. there's no psychological torture. the sexual torture is whack. they have no chemistry except in that scene where ramsay sniffs him. i can't believe i have to put up with him for three more seasons.

honestly what in the goddamn fuck are they doing with bran. started off semi decently with including his brothers & parents voices in his visions but it went downhill real fast. absolute waste of natalia tena and thomas brodie sangster.

red wedding sucked. too many really bad changes. i was too annoyed with robb by the ending.

oh is her mom finding out her daughter is a queen from a letter. oh is she pregnant when she rolls up to the red wedding. oh is she the one that encourages robb to forgive his mom. oh does she never argue with robb or have any sort of negative interaction with him or grey wind, she’s just perfectly pleasant at all times. okay.

“be nice my mother is finally starting to like you.” “and i like her. but if she had her way i would be-“ sorry catelyn expected her son to not be a fucking idiot but that’s not a moral failing of hers.

is it just me being a hater or is the dialogue in the riverlands like really bad and cheesy.

Lucas and Ettie's chiropractic clinic is going well. The customers seem to want 2-3 massages in a row, which is good for business but less good for realism!
