last song: The Ghost Of Liberace, I was listening to the playlist I made of my top 10 fav Sparks songs last evening and thinking to myself "oh my freaking god these songs are so good, how on earth" (not a very surprising outcome of listening to one's favourite songs). And THEN I feel asleep actually so I don't remember actually listening to this one but I know it was the last one on the playlist

favorite color: I famously like to say that I love all colors (because I really do) but having to choose. Hmmm. Maybe some vivid shade of blue or this one kind of pale red or some shade of purple. I'm also a big fan of lots of different shades of pink in general. And also the combination of very soft and pastely yellow and pink, because I remember those were my favourite colors as a very small child and now, in big part for that reason, I like putting that colour combo in different things (like my arts)

currently watching: nothing >:[ I'm not much of a movies / tv shows person in general but I hope to change it at some point, my main problem at the moment though is that I just can't fit anything more in my current daily schedule because I've already been putting of things like reading and finally getting to all kinds of different things for months and months, and it's just ugggghhhh, there's never enough time for anything!!! But I just suck at time management at the moment so, one day hopefully. I want to say I will happily accept any recommendations but 1) I don't even know what I want to watch (because I never watch anything and don't know what I'd like lmao) 2) the problem described above

sweet/savory/spicy: savory maayyybbeee, but sweet is also important and something I crave quite often. So I think a balanced dose of both is what I need in my day to day life. I can mostly do without spicy though

currently playing: not a huge gamer (besides a couple of very specific game phases I had in the years past), but recently I've been playing a bunch of Super Mario type games because forgetting all my worries and booting up my Switch and leveling up my skills in platformers and racing games has been my favourite and almost foolproof, go-to way of relaxing this whole summer. Special shoutout to Mario Kart 8 for bringing our entire family together and letting me have one (1) video game thing I can safely say I have surpassed my borther in after just a couple hours of practice so it's like haha, I always lost in racing games and now I can win each time effortlessly >:]]], all thanks to having nothing better to do for several hours a day for many days. And yet more actively I want to say that I've been playing the Klonoa games (those two original platformers that got remastered) but I forgot about them and I'm pretty sure I actually haven't played them since January? Lmao (I forget about everything these days, but especially games. Fun fact: it took me almost 3 years to finish Undertale back in the day. Because I'd forget about it for several months at a time)

current obsession: Sparks unchangingly for this entire past year, and while the obsession never wanes it still has its slightly more and less intense periods, and these last couple of weeks have definitely been on the intense end of the scale. Nothing but Sparks on the brain this whole summer lol (and I welcome that fact with much happiness)

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks....

Oh um! Thank you for the question, I do love that kind of thing, love writing it out... Honestly I think I can track almost a lot of my fav characters to just yaoi but whatever, I'm valid!! Also there might be some spoilers here since it's difficult to write 'why' without them. Sorry for long text, I like rambling about my favs. 1) Currently as is obvious it's Geto Suguru from JJK, I think he just combined a lot of the things I like in a way that really works for him and for the story... The inherent romance in being dead before the main plot even starts, ahh. Also the complexity behind his fall into villainy is sooo well-written, having so many reasons and chains of consequences that lead him to it, a slow and easily preventable descent into tragedy, it's so appealing... I truly believe he could have been saved and dissuaded at any point in his life, even during the events of jjk0, but people who cared about him didn't understand him, while people who did understand him didn't care enough (or actively planned to take advantage).

2) Kaeya from Genshin, similarly because he's a very contradictory character with a lot of inner demons and a tendency towards self-destructive behavior. Also back then the kaeluc of it all forced me deep into researching chinese terminology and similar examples in fiction which made playing Genshin a much more educational experience than one would expect lmao... Honestly I didn't love what the game did with him in the last few years, mostly ignoring the more serious and cunning aspects of his personality and story and focusing on the cute and insecure little trickster persona, it's very ehh to me. But in my heart I still love the version of him that made me obsess for over a year.

3) Jimmy McGill from Better Call Saul. Again, something about preventable tragedy and how difficult it is to tell where his actions can be traced back to his childhood and family relations, where he was forced and where he chose to make bad decisions himself, he is my poor meow meow 100%. Also has the benefit of being in a well-written show.

4) Princess Carolyn from Bojack, honestly it should have been Diane but Diane struck too close to home for me, while PC is a 'safer' to love option. Highly competent in professional areas, utterly delulu in others, one of the most caring characters in the cast... <З I also just liked her VA a lot, plus she's like a power fantasy in a lot of ways... Super great at her career, loving partner, realising her dream of having a baby, I mean yeah. Not that I want a baby, just that she got everything she wanted by the end, nice.

5) Wei Wuxian from MDZS, same with being dead before the story starts djkgdkjg, also a necromancer and a disaster, need I say more. I think for me a big factor of why I like him is that despite being a talented genius with a steady moral compass he absolutely failed at... everything? Lost everything he held dear or wanted to protect, when revived he doesn't even have any specific goals in the new life he was given. But his endless positivity means that he didn't mind taking that second chance anyway, and as a reward at least learned in detail why his first life fell apart, and also gained a devoted husband in the process, good for him. A rare happy end among things I like actually,, I mean I actually have words to say about the 'happy' part of it but well, as happy as it could have been for him.

6) Grantaire from Les Mis, this one is just very personal I think, a cynical drunk who never accomplished anything in his life, am I right dfjgnkdfg...,, Him being a typical asshole but well-educated and sentimental, loving Enjolras and all of his friends but giving 0 effort to actually supporting their cause, still managing to do the right thing in the end, it's ahh т_т Also I'm still obsessed with him mentioning studying under Antoine-Jean Gros in one sentence which led me down the rabbit hole of researching what real life Gros was like, spoilers he drowned himself in Seine after his artistic career went into decline. You can really see why looking at his works but that makes it all the more upsetting... Like not because of some 1 specific failure but just a lack of artistic progress overall, which his mentor, peers and students couldn't help but comment on... Anyway this isn't about Grantaire anymore but also kind of still is! 7) Vriska, I named my second cat after her!! Honestly one of the better written characters in Homestuck I think (im thinking the first five acts), just everything about her is perfect to me. A huge bitch of course, but at her core just a teenager with pure ambition and insecurities born from consequences of her actions, always trying to prove herself no matter how much she hurts people around her. And yeah like always with characters I like, so many opportunities for her to go off the doomed course, but either herself or manipulative adults always redirected her back, and that was always supposed to be the 'main' timeline, doomed by the narrative etc. The tragic nature of her friends-to-rivals-to-enemies with Terezi was also just sooo... And that Terezi didn't even care about that rivalry as much as Vriska did, or at least pretended that she didn't... Sighh....

8) Granny Weatherwax from Discworld, my favorite old woman. What's so great about her to me is that she's like all those other characters I like, an asshole who wants to solve everyone's problems, always tempted to react emotionally, do the wrong thing,... But she just doesn't, and she's been choosing to be good ever since she was young. The appeal of a powerful witch holding herself in check, mmm, she's just so much more introspective, complex and relatable than say Gandalf in LOTR who had the same issues. Iconic role model honestly.

9) Harry Du Bois from Disco Elysium, or at least specifically the communist well-natured version of him you can play as djkfgdfkfg, not that it erases his complexities and masculine asshole ways but... I mean yeah, he's a cop and an asshole no matter what, but the sheer potential he holds... No matter how low he's fallen, his sentimentality and his empathy, being so in-tune with people and the city, it all leads to a blooming hope for humanity I suppose. That you can get better, always, and not only a-la Grantaire by dying. Of course, you can also always get worse, too, but that's the other inevitable side of the coin (I still haven't played the fascist route since it makes me too sad).

10) Leo from Pandora Hearts! Again I didn't really love how he ended up, but ahhh :^) His unlikely friendship with Elliot, agreeing to becoming his servant to stay by his side more, not realising that he's dooming his friend by doing so, yandere-ish personality plus secret pretty eyes, I mean. Classic flavor.

the versatility of the sport! hockey is the fastest sport on earth, everything happens lighting quick. it also has some of the most talented athletes in the world, the way the players handle the puck is so so impressive. and, its the only major pro sport that allows (and even encourages) fighting! combine all of that with the fact that every single person is on the ice on 1/8 of an inch blades on ice? pretty unbelievable. its crazy to watch, it goes so fast and i love it like almost nothing else!

my favourite food is any seafood in honestly any form, but my favourite of those is poke bowls!

5, 7, 8, 18 for the film ask?

5. What’s the very first film you remember watching?

Gosh,,,,,, it's actually really hard for me to remember without having to ask my parents about it, since most of my early childhood was a blur for me, hence not remembering a lot of it!

If I had to pick, it would DEFINITELY be Winnie the Pooh cuz it was one of the only few movies back when I was three that I would actually sit down and watch!

7. A film you wish had a sequel?

Oh God, there are sososo many movies that I wished had a sequel, but for some god forsaken reason there isn't one!! It's really hard to choose just one!

Two movies I can think of at the top of my head are Over the Hedge and Chicken Little!

Over the Hedge, because I feel like there's more story to tell after all that happened in the first movie (including Tiger and Stella getting together and Tiger living in the forest with Stella) and if they can't do a sequel I would LOVE a spinoff series that takes a similar approach to what Penguins of Madagascar did!

And Chicken Little cuz I've been waiting on a promise that a Chicken Little book gave out for a sequel and it's been YEARS

Also another sequel I've been waiting on for a literal decade is one to Freaknik the Musical..... God I want that sequel bad!

8. Which book would you like to see adapted into a film?

This technically isn't a book, but I really really REALLY want a movie or TV show for Calvin and Hobbes and I've been literally begging the universe for one ever since I was little!

I know that Bill Watterson himself had he doesn't want an adaptation of Calvin and Hobbes since he never figured out a way to do so

But I feel that the 2015 Peanuts movie is the exact answer to Bill's problem! And if anyone who makes the adaption takes notes from that movie and just tries to stick to the main plot points and art style of the comics, I think it'll hold up amazingly well (the only thing is to keep the adaption for Calvin and Hobbes a 2D animated style with hardly any CGI)

I also really just want the beautiful watercolor art style of Calvin and Hobbes to come to live on the big and small screens so bad! I really wish that it does happen despite everything someday

Though the one change that I would make to a Calvin and Hobbes adaption is to give Hobbes and Susie the ability to actually talk to each other and hang out properly as a separate dynamic away from Calvin!

18. What’s your favourite biopic?

I'm not much of a biopic connoisseur, so I wouldn't know too many biopics by name

But if you like parodies of musician biopics (such as Johnny Cash's biopic)

Walk Hard: A Dewey Cox Story is one that I can highly recommend if you like obscene, silly and stupid humor starring John C Reilly and really legit good music combined, this is your movie!

If you want actual biopics, a few of my favorites are Balto (yes the animated one), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (pls read the book too, it's great), Joseph: King of Dreams (god the music is so good), Walk the Line (the Johnny Cash biopics I mentioned above), Notorious, Soul Surfer, Straight Outta Compton, and The Disaster Artist!

I was tagged by the ever so lovely @officalroyalsofpierreland​ and @trentonsimblr (So sorry that I’m just now getting to this) and I’m going to tag anyone who wants to do it! 

I’m very fond of Douxie right now, and he’s still of a box full of questions, so I’ll do him! 

1) What is your favorite sport?

I’m not very much into sports actually. If I have the time, I do enjoy going down to the pool and swimming laps.

2) What is your favorite color?

To be quite honest, I’m not sure. I’m very fond of green and light blue for reasons I’m not quite sure I understand, but I do tend to wear black more than anything.

3) What is your favorite movie?

Growing up my favorite movie was The Sleeping Princess (old, but one of my mothers’s favorites) but as of right now... I’m not quite sure to be honest. I think the last movie I watched was at a premiere for work. 

4) Taken? Single?

Taken. Very much taken by Ana. You could say that I’m... taken for life? 

5) What would be your perfect day?

No work. No filming. No press events. No press tours. A breakfast at the local cafe that I’ve been dying to go to. Take Annie out. Go for a walk together. See a movie. Take her to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Grab some ice cream. Very simple, I feel.

6) Are you a night owl or an early bird?

Oh, how I would love to be a night owl. Unfortunately, my schedule at the moment doesn’t allow for me to be a night owl, so I am an early bird. 

7) Do you think you're smart?

Heavens no. I barely managed to graduate high school on time. My mothers think I am, but they’re the ones who had to watch me struggle through nearly 13 years of math class. 

10) How do you like to be comforted when you are sad?

Chocolates help. And hugs. Great big hugs never hurt. 

11) Where do you want to be in 5 years time?

Standing at the end of the aisle at the very least. At the most? I personally wouldn’t be opposed to some tiny little ones running around.  

12) Do you have any regrets?

Not meeting Annie again sooner.

13) Who are/is your best friend(s)?

My dearest friend is Cody. We’ve known each other for ages and talk quite often. Our schedules are often very contradictory so we don’t see each other face to face very often, but we have a very good time when we do.

A very good one.

My mothers, without question. They’ve seen me through highs and lows and I honestly don’t know what I would do without them.

16) What is one thing people don't know about you?

There’s actually a third tattoo..., it’s just hidden out of sight. It has a very important meaning to me though, which is why I got it.

I’m not sure. Annie did get me a signed copy of my favorite book last Winterfest (Watcher knows how she managed to do that, the author’s been with the Reaper for at least 30 years now), so that’s one of them I’d have to say.

Any food made by my Maman. She’s an excellent chef and anytime I’m home for dinner, is completely and utterly worth it. 

19) Earliest childhood memory?

My cousin being a complete bully to me.

I always have a crush on Annie.

21) If you could live in a different period, which one would it be?

I’m rather content in this time period. The fashion of the 17th century is nice, but I’d rather stay here. Those coats look hot.

Douxie. Doux’. One of my little cousins once called me Hisi while trying to get my attention and that’s certainly a nickname I am not fond of.

A combination really. Some days I’m an introvert, some days I’m an extrovert. It depends on what’s happening.

The End of the Beginning by Sarah Laurite. It’s my favourite book series.

On set-school mostly, in conjuction with the Nimben School of the Arts in downtown Bilchester. Growing up I went to Hartford Primary before I was cast.

So for this year's Aggressively Arospec Week i decided to take all the Disney Princesses and reimagine them as aro-spec! I have them listed in reverse order of release so feel free to scroll to your fav

(I havent seen some of these movies since i was little so some parts may be inaccurate)

Revival Era

The newest Disney Princess is Moana! Her movie is my favorite and i have always seen her as aro-ace!

Did you know Anna and Elsa actually arent Disney Princesses? Well im including them anyways. Ive reimagined Anna as recipromantic! She wants love and romance but doesnt actually feel it until Han and Kristoff showed clear interest in her. Being overflowed with these emotions for the first time combined with Hans "feeling" the same way plus growing up on stories of True Love she quickly jumps on the  marriage bandwagon. Its true love Elsa! You cant understand Kristoff! After finding out Hans never loved her her feelings end and are replaced by the heavy feeling of betrayal. She then goes slightly more carefully with her relationship with Kristoff. Elsa however is aro, and love was never even a option until after movie one. We hear from Hans that she turns every man down, but it is a mixture of fear from her powers and intense uncomfortableness she felt/feels.

Crown Princess Elena! Many people dont know her as she is a TV series princess. She was my favorite before Moana came out. Elena is aro-ace! She has many admirers but their actions and words fly right over her head, and the more pushy ones make her down right uncomfortable. She loves (and i mean overflowing with love) her family and her subjects and is always working to rebuild and better the kingdom. After her brief transition period of Crown Princess she is set to become Queen.

Merida! Shes aro-ace. I dont think anyone real needs a description explaining why considering her movie was about her rejecting marriage and repairing her relationship with her mom. Being a arrow ace doesnt hurt either.

Rapunzel is demi! During her journey with Flynn she creates her first relationship outside her mother and Pascal. She and Flynn have to trust and rely on one another and grow close by the time they arrive in Corona. At this point she is romantically attracted to Flynn.

(This was the only good gif of her sorry) Tiana is also demi! The only woman not whooed by Naveen's charm who slowly falls for him after going through a life changing journey together... sounds pretty demi to me

Renaissance Era

Mulan is gray! Out of all those naked men the only one that didnt make her recoil, who she also had a hard time averting her eyes from, was Shang. AKA the only man she was attracted to was Shang in a sea of men.

Pocahontas is also gray! She didnt want to marry the man her father picked out, but she also never volunteered a man of her own. She seemingly "randomly" falls in love when seeing John for the first time.

Ive reimagined Jasmine as apresromantic! She genuinely cares for Aladdin as a person, and then cares for him romantically after meeting him again.

Belle is aro! She cares for and loves the Beast platonically. The Beast is in love with her, and they go into their marriage happily despite Belle's affection coming from a slightly different place. Also her getting married helps avoid a whole another Gastón problem plus she gets to keep living in a giant library.

It's the year 2021 and you're obsessed with The Karate Kid. How are you feeling?: Pretty good! A bit stressed right now, but not because of fandom. Honestly, there are so many nice people, funny memes and good fics here, i love it (i also never had a fandom that i wrote SO MUCH for and got so many comments. crazy.)

Did you grow up with TKK or are you new to the series?: Absolutely didn’t grow up with it. Super new. Didn’t even knew the movies (and the show) were a thing until, like, November or December last year. Started to see some stuff on tumblr and decided to check it out, and here i am!

We gotta do the basics. Favorite character: Hmmmm, hard one. I’d say Daniel, because I think he has the potential to finally snap, and that will be GOOD. Also, i love Amanda and Miguel <3

Favorite ship: Lawrusso, though Amanda/Daniel/Johnny is a strong number two. Talking about the teen couples: i’m honestly not feeling super strong on any of them? Just kinds neutral on any of them. I’m just waiting where the show takes it

Ever had a crush on a teacher: Nah, not really. There was one teacher in my life I thought looked objectively pretty/cool, and another I really really looked up to and was fascinated by, but I’ve never had any kind of crush on them.

Coolest Hallowe’en costume: Ooh, I love talking about Halloween costumes! I guess my “coolest” was either my satyr/faun costume from high school, or my Nurd the Scourge of Five Deities (a demon from my semi-favorite book trilogy The Samuel Johnson series. Basically, I love the first two books and have an uncomfortable relationship with the third) costume from the Halloween of 2018. The satyr/faun costume was cool because most of it was foraged and homemade. My mom made my furry goat legs, and I got to choose my satyr/faun fashion of a “Born to be Wild” T-shirt and a clear flask full of “wine” (a fruit juice blend that looked like wine.) I also bought some costume horns and pointed ears to glue onto me, as well as rubber hooves to strap onto my shoes.

The demon costume was even more interpretive, since the Samuel Johnson series has no illustrations or movie/TV adaptation. I painted a green crescent moon on my face, put on fangs, and added a red streak in my hair. I also wore a cool red cloak, dark brooding clothes, heavy boots, and a pair of thick welder’s gloves. Hopefully, I captured the brooding, yet awkward spirit of Nurd.

Fav 90s TV show: Hmmm.... That’s a tricky one. I want to say Futurama, but that started in March of 1999, so it’s got a foot in the 90s. A more appropriate answer would be Animaniacs, even though I only got into it a couple years ago. Some other good choices would be Quantum Leap and the Powerpuff Girls.

Last kiss: .... aw, this question makes me sad. If we’re talking about any kind of kisses, sometimes I can quickly kiss my bird on his beak. If we’re talking about human kisses, than those haven’t really happened since March of 2019.

Fav pair of shoes: Out of the ones I currently own? Honestly, my furry moccasin slippers. Which I CAN’T FIND RIGHT NOW.

Been to Las Vegas: Nope, and I’m not interested.

Fav fruit: Hmm. Maybe raspberries? Or bananas, as long as they’re ripe and soft and sweet.

Fav book: So, I have two answers to this. My favorite book in terms of “what book do I think is objectively a great piece of literature, that takes my breath away when I read it and I hope to one day be as half as good as its author” is Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, as well as a whole sackful of books from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. My favorite book in terms of “it’s silly and goofy and makes me laugh, as well as combining a bunch of ideas that are right up my ally and that I don’t get enough of in fiction” is The Infernals, which is the second book in the Samuel Johnson trilogy by John Connolly. (Fun fact: I’ve actually met John Connolly more than once, and even visited his house.)

Stupidest thing I’ve ever done: Too many to count. I’ll pick just one, since I don’t want to revisit painful memories for too long: become obsessed and heartbroken over an asshole who didn’t deserve it. (Note: this is not connected to the kiss answer)

All time fav show: I’m gonna have to say Doctor Who. I’ve been actively watching it since 2010, and have since gotten to dive into its many years and types of content. I find it fascinating how the show changes from year to year, Doctor to Doctor. Even if it isn’t always good, it’s fascinating. My favorite Doctor and era is now Patrick Troughton’s Second Doctor era, but New Who season 5 will always have a special place in my heart. It’s as bright and joyful and exciting as a shiny new copper penny, and I will forever hope that Doctor Who will return to those bright, warm colors with fun adventures and a silly Doctor.

Last movie I saw in theatres: Pixar’s Onward. Mom and I managed to see it together just before the movie theaters closed for the first lockdowns. It was good, not peak Pixar amazing, but still fun and sweet. It actually affected my mom a lot because she lost her father when she was a teenager, and knows what it’s like to raise younger siblings who barely know their fathers.

2. I really love campy horror films- I love horror in general but there’s something about the combination of horror and like, overly exaggerated comedic aesthetic that just really does it for me. Like scare me but also make me laugh so I know it’s okay. Literally my favorite movie of all time is Rocky Horror, not that it’s scary or anything but it has both elements and it’s also gay so there’s that it just screams me

3. I speak 4 languages: English, Spanish, and Korean fluently, and conversational french.... Reason for your url: oof. Okay. So, I grew up in an insular community and, in spite of my mother's best efforts, had some very ...problematic preconceptions about the world. After moving away for seven years or so, I had a breakdown trying to reconcile who I was and how I felt with the ideology I had lived with for the first twenty-five years of my life. I stopped digging ditches for a living (not a criticism, btw, it was honest work but I was bored), went back to school, and made a point of improving myself.
