like, the info is there, it’s not hard to find!! and diversifying your social media feeds with fat voices is a big step forward in integrating fat lib and fat positivity into your daily media consumption and your worldview.
(and also! a great way to see if an account is a good, trustworthy one to follow is to check if other big voices in fat activism follow them. it’s tricky but I always make sure I recognize a couple of followers as other people involved in fat lib to ensure that this is a good account to follow.)
I've been looking at the recent discussion and I have to ask - is it possible to be thin and be into feedism in an ethical way? Especially if you're not comfortable engaging with radical politics like fat liberation for your own mental health? Because honestly, it just seems like as thin people, it's impossible for us to engage with this kink (at least beyond just fantasising in private) and not hurt fat people and perpetuate fatphobia in some way. And at that point it seems like it'd be better to just disengage from the kink entirely and make sure it's a fat people only space.
What? Literally all you have to do is care about fat people.
To be an ethical feedist or FA, educate yourself on systemic anti-fatness! I’m not asking you to get into heavy political debates, just to learn. Work on your own biases. It doesn’t take much to open a book. Or even just follow fat educators on social media! LISTEN to fat people you know!
Here, I even included a whole big list of people to learn from!
Aubrey Gordon @yrfatfriend
Hannah Fulhendorf MA LPCC @hannatalksbodies
Sonalee Rashatwar LSCW MEd @thefatsextherapist
Dr. Lindo Bacon @lindobacon
@bigfatscience

Caleb Luna @chairbreaker
Da’Shaun L. Harrison @dashaunlh
Tracy Cox @sparklejams
Virgie Tovar @virgietovar
Jordan Underwood @jordallenhall
Saucyé West @saucyewest
Here’s even more information I compiled, with book recommendations!
All of this information is at your fingertips. If you don’t engage with fat liberationist ideas, you’ll be complicit in their oppression. Not just in feedism spaces - but everywhere. Support fat people. If that’s not something you believe you can do, then sure, maybe it would be better to disengage from feedism! and every fat person you meet! There’s nothing inherently unethical about being a thin feedist - it’s how we perpetuate the anti-fat bias we’ve been taught. Sorry if I’m being harsh, but I’m not buying it. You can do this.
