‘Well….’ He hesitates. He is, technically, a biologist inasmuch as he still is anything he used to be as a real person (or to be more accurate, he once was one). He’d once dreamed of going on expeditions to the deepest part of the ocean—the real one, to be clear, not… this one down here—and describing new habitats and species. He never stopped diving, either, But he chose a leap of faith to pursue his fledging career as a poet instead of ever actually working as a biologist. He was, at best, a poet with a degree in biology. Hell, at this point, he’s even overwritten that treasured career, so perhaps he’s not even that outside of his own mind. Now, he’s supposed to be a filmmaker who’s played a poet once.    ‘Not—not exactly.’

Ah, yes. I certainly understand where all this entirely invented Thomas Zane backstory keeps coming from!

I think so far there's a 10% Casper Darling presence and a conservative 85% Thomas Zane thinking about himself to himself for some reason. And it's not even in the fun, unhinged way he presents himself in the game...

With the new Dragon Age coming out, this is the first time I've ever paid attention to a game launch before. I didn't play Origins until 2016 and then didn't play Inquisition until 2021. But once I did I was hooked.. absolutely pulled in, no looking back, try to learn all the things!

So with the recent Game Informer article seemingly spoiling a couple pretty big story points, I wondered.. what did GI have to say about Origins? I bought a copy of the November 2008 edition off of Ebay (yes, I prefer physical media) to check it out.

The article starts off noting that DA was "announced over four years ago" (so, 2004?) And then re-emerged in 2008 with the new name added "Origins". Interesting!

The article goes into some detail on a Mage background origin playthrough and goes right up to the plot point that you'll eventually become a Grey Warden, and then that the battle at Ostagar starts, goes awry, and that King Cailan is grabbed by an ogre. They go on to say that they won't tell you the result of that. So that's some somewhat big spoilers for the setup of the game up till maybe 5-6 hours in?

It also has an interesting note that "the development team prototyped the entire story using the Neverwinter Nights engine" not all the gameplay but the plot, dialoge, and quests- neat!

The article doesn't share anything about companions other than they exist, some might be surprises, you might not get all of them, some will disagree with your actions and/or each other and there will be banter and a "camp" to go back to.

It then gets into some gameplay mechanics- pausing, tactical fighting, how much you can let your companion do their own fighting.

And finishes talking about how the game is providing "an extensive toolset that allows you to make your own adventures and share them with the community". Is that true though? I've seen plenty of people doing mods for better hair/skintone and cosmetic things but did people actually create adventures- I'm guessing fights or scenarios to go through? I haven't heard of that but I've really only been in the fandom since 2021.

I'm pretty interested to see now exactly how much the GI article spoiled of DA4 and what they're not telling us! Fall 2024 is so far away..

I don't even know how to start this. I've been reading fics for 13 years straight, like I don't remember the period of my life where I didn't read them cuz I always have some ship active and I'm crazy BL fan. Only a small number of them can make me crazy to the point I don't wanna sleep, eat, skipping my obligations, killing the pain and your sebaciel did everything. I haven't felt like this reading fic..,maybe ever? This is totally another level of me being fascinated by some writer.

I adore sebaciel, I'm in fandom since 2016 but the biggest problem I had with their fics is that - either people go too much OOC with them orr they rush up the things between them, going quickly with sex and feelings. It bothered me so much so I was crawling for good SC fics as crazy!!

After some break with SC, I came back to ao3 and saw your long fic. I started reading it but I dropped it after 3 chapters, I got bored cuz I thought you are gonna just re-type manga and do classic thing which another people do. Quickly, I got disappointed with another one and idk how but I decided to give your fic one more chance and dear lord......that was one of the best thing I have ever read. Maybe even the best.

Like, how smart are you? What's your IQ? Your manage to explain me some things about Kuro plot which I haven't udnerstand by myself. And the way you write Sebaciel relationship. That's everything I have ever wanted. Everything. They have normal conversation and that's it, that's all I need cuz there is everything. I feel electric every time when they talk, fight, do things together, goood the little touches svbjhsdjvbvbvbvbvbsdjvhbdf. I was tense whole fic. I read it for like 10 days, abandon everything until I finished it and now I feel sad ahahhaahha. But you are really something special, cuz I always used to say that manga itself is the best fiction cuz Yana knows the best how to create good Sebaciel energy. You, next to Yana, did the best job. You kept them as they are, never broke the character, and that's what I am most grateful. I also need to say that you find PERFECT balance for good plot and romance. I just have one question. From time to time, I was like a Bard ahahhaha, so sick of their games and my head hurting me, but on a good way. I am clear about Ciel but what about Sebastian and his disgust for Ciel's nicer, soft, emotional side? I know Ciel doesn't have it a lot, but would Sebastian still be grossed out about it as he was at the beginning of a contract or not? Keeping in mind that he is more and more obsessed with a boy?

Hi! Ooh, thank you so much for your amazing, wonderful essay! I can't tell you how happy it made me! I think the electricity was already started being cut off when I got it, so I could see I have some really lengthy ask, but it wouldn't load. It was the torture of the most delicious kind :D

Like you, I've been reading fics for ages now, and the moments where I find some fantastic story that won't let me sleep or work or even blink are always the happiest and the brightest spots I remember. So it's extremely flattering to know that my story has become something similar to other people.

I love writing about smart characters, but most of them are definitely smarter than me! The benefit is that since I'm writing, I can think and plan everything in advance. In real life, I only wish I were as quick-witted and inventive. Alas, the best ideas and arguments come to me when they are no longer needed.

I love slow burns, and I love characters who abhor the idea of expressing their feelings, so Ciel and Sebastian have the most perfect dynamic in my eyes. I feel like I could spend the eternity just enjoying their Gothic world with their games, arguments, plots, and so on. Them antagonizing each other only to instantly team up against the common enemy is my most favorite thing in the world.

As for your question, right now, Sebastian would be thrilled if Ciel were to show a softer and more vulnerable side - at least in relation to him. Well, a part of him would feel the automatic need to mock him for it anyway, some habits don't die easily, but Sebastian's feelings have evolved a lot, plus Ciel is cold more often than he is not. So Sebastian treasures every word of praise, every hint of appreciation and need because they are so rare - he's come to crave them, and he has memorized all known cases of them by heart.

Interview with Nace Jordan, bassist of Joker Out

"Thank you, don't count on us..." This is a segment of their currently hottest song Carpe diem, taken out of context. Two weeks ago at Eurovision we were counting on them quite a lot. Despite finishing 21st they did not let us down, as we got to witness an energetic, playful and colourful musical delicacy.

We are glad you managed to take some time for Aleteia during the exciting post-Eurovision events. The youngest member of Joker Out according to length of service, and the wisest according to age, the likeable bassist Nace Jordan.

Congratulations for your wonderful Eurovision performance. Have you gone deaf due to the crowds that have excitedly welcomed you yet?

(laughter) We haven't gone deaf, but the reactions were very nice. We heard that people in Slovenia were watching and loudly cheering for us, especially during the semi-finals performance. All of this is very 'extra'.

Did anything disappoint you in Liverpool?

I can't say we were disappointed about anything. Maybe I would mention that they were promising us 'crazy' parties, which take place during Eurovision. They were great, but not as special as we were promised.

How long has it taken for the adrenaline to calm down after Eurovision?

Personally, I have not yet managed to recover from it all. All together it was very mentally and physically exhausting, but because of our love for music, we managed to pull through.

When coming home, was it difficult to switch from a huge event, where everything is about you, and come into a familiar, calm environment and simply go to the store?

We are lucky enough that since coming home from Great Britain, we have had so many things happen that we haven't yet had any time to lead a normal life, even to go to the store to buy something.

Currently we are positioned on various European charts. (Author's note: On the day of the interview (interview posted 03/06/2023) the group is fourth on the Spotify Global Viral chart; the only fellow Eurovision contestants above them are Finnish representative Käärijä and Swedish representative Loreen. All of this feels unreal and nice and it gives us a lot of energy. In addition, many are beckoning us to concerts abroad. The dreams of each musician are to once spread from the narrow area of Ex-Yugoslavia to the markets all across Europe. We decided that we will risk it, since the people want to hear us. We announced a concert in Dublin which we will perform with our Irish Eurovision friends. Let me say that the concert was sold out in 20 minutes. These are truly 'insane' numbers, which are not letting us catch our breaths after Liverpool.

The excitement of the crowds does not surprise us. When and how did the members of the group even meet?

Bojan Cvjetićanin and Kris Guštin met at a performance in secondary school, where Kris was the reporter of the school newspaper. After a while, Bojan invited Kris and Jan Peteh into the band. After a while Jure Maček joined, and last year myself as well.

You came into the band last, yet it seems as though you've been with the boys since their beginnings in 2016.

That's right.

Nace, we have already managed to observe you well on stage. We see that you're all smiles, brave and energetic. How would you describe yourself?

Really? (laughter) I would describe myself as silent and smiley. Due to me being the oldest member of the band (Author's note: Nace is 28, the ages of the other members vary between 23 and 24), I have noticed that I have a different view of things than the other members of the band.

So the age gap is noticeable?

I think so.

In short, describe the other members of the band.

Bojan is intuitive, Maček playful, Guštin serious. And I can't describe Jan in any other way than saying that he is a pure artist.

Do you have other occupations, not connected to music?

I can speak for the entire band when I say that no one does anything besides music. Well, Bojan may occasionally appear in a commercial or two. (laughter)

What is the atmosphere among you? Do you trust and help each other?

No doubt, without it we couldn't have handled the pressure of Eurovision. Everything was easier because there were five of us. If someone was feeling down, the others noticed right away and gave him some space. Or offered him to talk - whatever he needed in that moment.

I liked it how you said at the press conference in Liverpool that you wouldn't consume alcohol before the performance. I have also noticed that you know how to express yourself in interviews. And we can't forget the fact that you sang in Slovene at Eurovision. Do you think it's important to maintain our language?

The fact that we sang in Slovene at Eurovision should say it all. We love Slovene and we find it the most appropriate for expressing ourselves, both in songs and conversation.

In the song Carpe diem, among other things, you sing about how you are against hate. How do you, as Nace Jordan, take steps toward a kinder society?

Let me correct that the song itself is not only against hatred, but it also talks about how we have to seize each day and look at the bright side. We ourselves are the only ones who have control over the fact that we wake up in the morning and make the best of the day. Personally, I make a person's day by smiling at them and consequently giving them a good feeling.

During your concerts, unexpected things are bound to happen. Would you let us in on any such event?

Not everything is of public nature. But I can mention that recently we had a concert in Umag. It took us a very long time to find the entrance to the concert hall. Luckily, we managed to find it right before the concert. We were really close to missing our own performance. (laughter)

Nace, Joker Out is not the first band in which you played. In the past you have collaborated with many Slovene performers, you are a member of Diamanti ('Diamonds' - the RTV house band) who take care of the musical accompaniment for the show 'V petek zvečer' ('On Friday Evening' - a show on Slovene national TV).

I don't know how much longer, sadly time is tight.

Your friends mention that you're a real-life 'jukebox', as you still remember the melodies of all the 200 songs that you performed during your times on the cruise ship.

That's true.

How was it, playing on a large ship away from shore?

When others went to study, I went to play on the ship. At that moment I chose to dedicate my life to music. This was one of the nicest and best decisions I've ever made. The half year spent on the cruise ship shaped me into the musician I am today. Living on a ship with so many people was a real school of interpersonal relations.

Was the music you performed always according to your taste?

Of course not, amongst the less favoured were for example German hit songs. (laughter)

I can't not mention that you were a member of the accompanying band at 'Ritem srca' ('Rhythm of the Heart' - festival of modern Christian music) and at the concert of 'Radio Ognjišče' ('Radio Fireplace' - a Christian Catholic radio in Slovenia). What is your memory of that experience?

I was looking forward to performing at Ritem srca this year as well. But sadly we had concerts and practice with Joker Out, so it wasn't possible. Ritem srca is one of the more pleasant festivals in Slovenia and I do not have a single bad experience with it. All participants were not only kind but also in good spirits and energetic. That is exactly what the world needs, it's 'carpe diem' in principle.

Who is the best performer of spiritual rhythmic music according to you?

I can mention Matej Šoklič, who I know personally. And Franci Rotar. Franci is a real 'character'. Every time I meet him he brightens and improves my day.

Speaking of spiritual music... Have you had to give up something that did not align with your personal beliefs during your musical career?

I avoid politics.

At the moment, Joker Out are a role model for many youths. What do you admire in a person?

It may sound cliché, but I appreciate honesty the most, both a frank critique and praise. With time I forget that I'm good at something, so it feels really nice when someone reminds me of it.

I try to! I often respond to a chapter's comments when I post the next chapter of a longfic. And sometimes I just space on it and respond a year later when I notice I failed to respond.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh definitely my X-ray + Penny flashfic, Bad Penny. Most of the comments are variations on HOW DARE YOU!!!

There are a couple other flashfics with pretty ambiguous endings, too.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

That's a hard one. Most of my fics have a happy or at least comforty ending. Maybe... uhh.... Electricity + Combustion ? which I literally labeled "whump with a fluffy ending". I also have two Jack Lives fics so that's always a happy situation at the end...

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I haven't. A few weird comments but I mostly scratch my head and ignore them. Anybody who hates on my fics will be getting a very long and nasty reply, followed by their comment being deleted.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope, no smutty fanfics here. I did have a romance I posted for another fandom awhile back (and never finished), and I've written fade-to-black stuff in my orig fic novels.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Just one! My Macgyver 2016+The Rookie cops-vs-spies crossover, in which some LAPD officers keep coming across a black GTO involved in shenangains around LA: 4 Times the LAPD Didn’t Pull Jack Over + 1 Time They Did

It's probably the funniest thing I've ever written, and the ending is one of my very favorites. Also possibly the only gen fic ever posted in The Rookie fandom, although I don't look over there much.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes. Somebody stole all my completed fics from FF.net last year. There was a big Tumblr post about some site full of stolen fics, and sure enough, there mine were. I asked to have them remove, got not reply. I haven't posted anything to FF.net since then.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I'm aware of.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes, but not for a long time. I used to frequently co-write fics in my first fandom.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

I'm going to go with Washington State Ferry M/V Wenatchee. Who doesn't love a good ferry boat? It's an irconic style, fun if you're walking on, handy if you need to drive on, saves you hours of driving around Puget Sound by land. Also just a very nice-looking ship.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Ugh, wow. I have a couple dozen things I kinda like but might never finish. My favorite, and least likely because I've made the least progress on it, is a MacGyver fic about Patti having plotted out her revenge better, and tring to fuck over the team by having listed Jack as her replacement... which of course gives him access to high-level secrets like Oversight's identity. Much drama ensues.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Ramping a story up. Characters. Make a story fully story-shaped.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Endings. 😫

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Hmmm I don't think I've ever needed to. Like most things in writing, I'm not against it in theory, but it can be done well or badly.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Anne McCaffrey's Pern, back in the paper fanzine days. Prior to joining AO3 in like 2019, I had 0 fanfics posted on the internet but a few in zines listed on Ebay. 😂

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

This is IMPOSSIBLE to answer. I could answer it differently every day for the next couple weeks. Anything I already mentions plus a couple more!

You haven't heard from your boyfriend for a week. That's right. You've been in a stable relationship for a year, or at least that was what you thought, with a mutant turtle named Donatello.

All this time your relationship had been booming until that fateful evening.

As often happens, you spent the whole afternoon with your boyfriend and his brothers and you were spending a day together like any other.

Michelangelo was completely immersed in his video games in the living room, Leonardo was immersed in his beloved meditation inside the Dojo, Raphael was busy with his usual workouts in the weight room and you and Donatello were in his room to keep him company while he was engaged in a of his new inventions.

Suddenly, however, your attention was captured by the ringtone of the phone. Your phone.

As soon as you read the name on the screen your eyes widened and you answered in the blink of an eye.

"Yes? Ready?"

"What?! Truly?!"

"I am coming!"

You closed your cell phone and turned to Donnie.

"Honey I have to go home"

"Did something serious happen?"

Donatello stood there looking at you without saying anything. He just greeted you with a kiss on the temple.

"Then I'm going, we'll talk later love" and you were out of his room.

You also greeted Mikey because he was in the hall, where you have to pass to go to the exit and then you walked along the leaf until you reach the manhole and exit.

In a hurry you ran home where you found your cousin N/c waiting for you.

You hadn't seen him for months as he had left to study abroad for a year in Italy.

You have mutually decided to go for a walk through the streets of New York at night.

In all of this, however, there was a problem, a problem you hadn't even noticed.

A specific mutant tortoise, much loved by you, was keeping an eye on you thanks to the countless surveillance cameras he hacked.

And while you were finishing that walk in peace, your boyfriend had begun to raise many doubts and insecurities.

After that evening you wrote to Donnie but got no reply. Tried and tried but still no response.

And so a week passed. A week in which anxiety and fear had taken over your body.

So you decided, that afternoon after school, to go to the turtles. You wanted to know the reason for this departure from the purple turtle.

You walked in and immediately locked eyes with Mikey, who was there looking at you as if he had just seen a ghost.

"What are you doing here?"

You stood looking at him confused

"What do you mean? Can't I be here?"

"Didn't find a new boyfriend?"

"Huh?"

“That human you went out with the last night we saw each other”

You stood there looking at him again until everything became clearer to you.

"Hate! That's why Donnie doesn't talk to me anymore! What a mess… it was all a big misunderstanding!”

"In what sense?"

“The guy I went out with that night was my cousin. He had returned after a year spent in Italy and so we went out for a walk to be together and to tell each other about the latest news, nothing more!”

"What? Serious dude?”

"Yes, I'm serious!"

“Then run to Donnie who has been locked in his room for a week for this story! Please get him out of there!"

You nodded and headed to Donnie's room.

You knocked but got no answer.

He didn't knock a second time. You took it and opened the door wide.

“WHY WHEN YOU HAVE DOUBTS DON'T YOU CONSULT WITH ME?!”

The boy immediately turned towards you, his eyes widening.

"Y-y/n..! What are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here? Do you really dare to ask me what am I doing here?! You literally ignored me for a week! You ignored all my messages and all my calls!! I had started to think that something bad had happened to you and that I would never be able to see you again!!” your eyes become watery and it doesn’t remain unnoticed by the boy.

"I-I don't understand why you care so much..."

You shake your head in disbelief "what the heck are you talking about?! You're my boyfriend, the person I love most in the world! It seems normal and almost obvious that I care about you!"

"I have seen you..."

"I imagined"

"You were so happy with him... You were having a normal situation with a normal person... I'm not mad at you for falling in love with a human boy..."

"Donnie..."

"To tell the truth, I don't even blame you" her eyes start to water "Often on the internet I come across pictures of happy couples and I stay there thinking... thinking that you shouldn't be with someone like me but you should be with a human who can make you live a normal life..."

Stay there in silence trying to hold back the tears that threaten to come out.

"I just want the best for you Y/n... And when I saw you with that boy last week I felt terrible, but at the same time I was happy for you because you finally found someone who truly deserves you... I ... I won't force you to stay here, we can still be friends if you want... I'd really like that... And... I wish you all the best that life can give you..."

You stayed there for a few more seconds looking at him and then approached him.

"Donatello, maybe one thing isn't clear to you yet... I love you, with all of me, and if you had talked to me, instead of keeping everything inside like you always do, you'd find out that the boy I went out with for a walk last week was my cousin…”

The boy stood there dumbfounded.

"Exactly, my cousin... He spent a year in Italy studying and just last week he returned to the city without saying anything, to surprise everyone"

He remained silent at that statement.

"The only person I want to be with is you Donatello, and there will never be someone better than you" you grab his face with your hands and look him straight in the eyes "Open your little head and insert this very important information... I LOVE YOU, and I wouldn't leave you for any other boy in the world. And then... Where would I find another boy as handsome and intelligent as you??" you giggled teasing him.

"But I don't respect the stereotype of human beauty, I'm biologically a turtle with mutated DNA, by humans I'm considered a monster"

"You can't argue with my statements, you don't know and you can't see how you appear in my eyes" you smile at him "Donnie, if you still want to be my boyfriend then accept my love and when you have any doubts talk to me please" you give him a sweet kiss on the lips.

As soon as you separate from the kiss he brings you back to him to hug you hiding his face between your neck and your shoulder "I love you so much, and you can't understand how you make me happy every day"

You stroke his head smiling leaving him a little kiss "I love you my love".

I'm still really struggling with the whole novel writing thing. I'm gonna ramble a bit so you can ignore this if you want lol

Basically I've realised that I keep settling on an idea, doing a bunch of research / planning, getting super into writing it for a while, and then lose all motivation as soon as I reach some sort of roadblock. For example I'll be like "OK cool, so how do we get from plot point A to plot point B...", but then the more I start trying to come up with solutions, the more I start overthinking everything, and then I end up in this spiral of "that doesn't make sense, the characters wouldn't do that, that's too cliché, that's just a dumb excuse for x, y, and z, no-one would read this or take this seriously, imagine the negative reviews, etc etc", which I *know* is dumb because I've been writing for *years* and ever since I was a literal child I've had people complimenting my story telling and writing style. Even my fanfics have had a lot of nice comments from people. And it gets worse than that - I occasionally find forgotten collections of my own writing from over a decade ago and I'm like "damn, this is actually really good, how did I do that?" And then I get miserable because I feel like younger me was writing much better than current me, and I don't know how to recapture that.

I think a major issue I have is that my characters tend to take on a life of their own, and then it becomes hard for me to make them do things I know they wouldn't do, which makes changing and adapting the story much harder once I've established them. On the flip side, if I don't do that, then I don't feel invested in them and can't be bothered writing their story, which also sucks.

Something that simultaneously keeps impressing me and annoying me is my writing from 2016-2017. As it turns out, I wrote a LOT that year. There's so much, and I love re-reading it because it feels like I'm reading someone else's work (maybe that's a dumb thing to say, idk). But the problem is it's all half finished or random short stories that will never fit in anywhere. It's so mystical and philosophical, full of dark themes, pondering existence, fairy tale like settings... But none of it is finished, and now I feel like I can't do it justice.

There's a story I started back then that I'm desperate to finish but it's so philosophical that I get sad every time I try to work on it, which sounds ridiculous, but it is what it is lol (it's based on the concept of Tulpas if you know what they are).

Then there's the story I've had going on in my head since 2008. I've written a few scenes for it here and there, but the damn thing spans over 3000 in universe years and almost 20 irl years, how the heck are you meant to condense that into a book?? I tried writing a new story set in the same universe, but it just didn't feel right. Ironically they're the characters I feel most comfortable writing about even though I can never publish anything about them (probably).

Then there's one I've been working on recently that was based on an old fanfic story of mine (the original plot, not the characters), but I keep getting paranoid that I can never publish it because the original fanfic from 2011 is still out there. Are original adaptations of fanfics you wrote a thing? Would people sneer at it?

Then I have a random other story I got pretty far with but realised I don't know enough about the themes or the community involved to write it respectfully, so I've temporarily given up on that for now too.

I've kind of ended up in a bit of a slump I guess. In no small part due to the fact that since 2017 I just haven't had as much time to write as I'd like, and if I do I overthink it all and don't actually write anything. Or I'll be spending time doing other things I enjoy and an annoying thought will be going "you could be using this time to write", and then I just feel annoyed at myself.

Maybe I should just start with a short story collection or something... At least I know I'm relatively good at those. Or maybe I'll push through the sadness it causes and just work on the Tulpa one at last.

Not sure why I'm writing this to be honest, I think I just needed to get it all down to clear my mind.

Hey, I just finished the Young Justice 1998 comics (it was very good, I enjoy it a lot) and wanted to ask what should I read next? (I have some ideas but am not entirely sure since I haven't read a lot of DC's stuff)

Young Just Us Gang:

You can read any of the three solos for Tim (Robin 1993), Bart (Impulse 1995) and Kon (Superboy 1994), but Bart's is probably the most similar in tone to the YJ books.

If you want to continue seeing these characters together, then you can read Young Justice/Titans: Graduation Day (2003) and then Teen Titans (2003). Cassie never really gets a solo but she is a major player in that run which has 100 issues. Superboy gets a mini story in Adventure Comics: Boy of Steel (2009) and then another short solo called Superboy Vol 5 (2011). Tim obviously has a very long Robin solo, but you can also read Red Robin (2009) .

They also have Young Justice (2019) that features a lot of other characters, and currently Bart has been showing up a lot in the current Flash run (he has a story dedicated to him in Flash #800). Tim appears in a lot of runs like Tim Drake: Robin (2022) and such. Kon also has a mini solo called Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow (2023) !!

(I really havent read anything from the 2011-2016 era)

Other Recs:

If you're interested in more characters with similar age ranges, then Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown books are really fun! Just as a basic list: Batgirl (2000), Batgirl (2009), Batgirls (2022)

Or Supersons (2016) for younger characters like Damian Wayne and Jon Kent. These characters both have a lot of runs as well if you are interested.

There's also the old Teen Titans runs you can read with Dick Grayson!

Hi, Jack. Ask Princess Molestia was deleted years ago, Jay recently announced that Lil Miss Rarity is rebooting and transitioning to an original story, and you have finished Discorded Whooves. With this, every blog that I joined Tumblr for, over 10 years ago, has either ended or been removed. I just want to say thank you for getting me on the one website I can tolerate, and especially thank you for putting up with me. I'm sure the younger version of myself that followed you initially was annoying, so I'm grateful I was allowed to grow and change on my own, rather than have that change forced upon me by being blocked or publicly humiliated or anything. Everything that has happened to me because of Tumblr has been because of you, Jay, and JohnJoseco, and for that, I am only grateful, it has only been good things. Or at least, the things that matter have only been good things. Any bad memories have since faded.

You should be proud of the work you put in. I feel that Discorded Whooves is an icon of the Tumblr pony community, and that community's intersection with Doctor Who. I'm glad it existed, and I'm glad you made it exist.

I don't really know what I'm trying to say here besides "thank you" and "you did good". It's a bit of a shocker for me, really, that I still care, especially considering I haven't been into ponies really since like 2016 or so. But I do. So thank you, you did a good job.

Yeah it feels like this marks the end of the classic tumblr pony era, all the old stuff is gone or ended and Discord Whooves was kinda the last one standing it seems. I could be wrong and there might be some stragglers left, but I don't think any of the big ones are around any more and I don't think any new ones will get as big as the classics did.

It's kind of sad to see how far tumblrpon has fallen, and how inactive it is save for a few people who are still trying and I wish them all luck because it's not going to be as easy as it was back then to catch an audience of pony fans.

I am Alex Norris, creator of the webcomic Webcomic Name. I am here to ask for help fighting a legal case to protect my ownership of Webcomic Name, so that I can continue to make my comics for my audience around the world.

I have been fighting this case since 2019. It arose out of an agreement to make a boardgame based on my webcomic in 2017 but the publishing company has used this as an opportunity to take all of my intellectual property, and has even claimed ownership of Webcomic Name as a whole. I can't go into more detail here, but the details of the case are publicly available to read online.

I created Webcomic Name in 2016, originally as a parody of relatable webcomics. For the past 6 years, the format has been the same: three panels long, featuring a silly pink blob, and ending every time with the punchline "oh no". Over time, it has increasingly become a commentary on issues close to my heart: social justice, gender and sexuality, internet culture, and what it means to be an artist on the internet.

I love making this webcomic, and I am so thrilled it has been amazingly popular with the internet and beyond. I am proud to have found something my readers love reading as much as I love making!

This lawsuit was filed in the U.S. and it has been incredibly expensive. I am a queer Welsh artist based in the UK, from a working-class background. As you can imagine, this whole thing has been devastating to my mental health, and a massive struggle for the past 5 years. I have never been through anything like this before. I haven't posted so much recently, and this is why. It has had an overwhelming effect on my life, on my ability to work, and my ability to enjoy things day by day.

I am proud to have funded my way through this case so far through my own hard work, and the support of my incredible readers through my online shop, Patreon and appearances at comic conventions. I haven't felt able to talk about this much publicly, until now. Your kind donations will help cover the legal fees I currently owe, and support me until the end of the case. Any funds that may be left over once the case is finished will be given to a charity of my selection.

I wish more people would watch the original original Ossan's Love, the 2016 TV film that the series was based on! It's still my favorite version (I haven't finished the HK remake because I forgot DFKGDFG so I can't rank it) because it has all of the humor and heart that the franchise is beloved for without some of the frankly soul-crushingly awkward plotlines that the drama inserted that I had to delete from my brain afterwards. (I love the 2018 series but only because certain parts don't exist for me thanks)

I also hope ppl understand just how much Ossan's Love changed the JP live action BL scene and why it gets the number of remakes and adaptations that it has. There was no precedent for it to be as wildly successful as it was. JP BL was niche even among manga readers, and live action BL's just... weren't taken seriously, you were happy to get what you had, cardboard kisses be damned, and you were lucky if it was translated.

But Ossan's Love pushed their marketing way beyond the typical audience. I still remember how shook I was the first time I saw a subway train with an Ossan's Love wrap on it. I could not fathom a BL ad of that size existing outside of Ikebukuro.

I know some people don't care for the humor of the series and feel like it's even making fun of gay ppl "lol his boss is a creep", but there's a lot of warmth and love at its heart. The 2016 version features my favorite rejection scene out of anything ever because of how respectful and genuine Haruta is towards his boss' feelings. The humor was a Trojan horse that allowed Ossan's Love to explode and lay the foundation for shows like Cherry Magic and Old Fashion Cupcake to exist, and the number of JP live action BLs produced since Ossan's Love outnumbers the number made in the previous fifty years. It's a cash cow and they can milk it to death for all I care if it means we get a larger variety of JP BL productions.

If the series isn't to your taste that's fine, but please pay respects.
