I jinxed it 😭 remember how i said I was all done with my night shifts bc the night guards came back from vacation? well, they're sisters and long story short they're back on leave again until at least Friday bc of a family tragedy and seeing as im the only other person that knows how the night system works at work im stepping back in. Not for a full shift though bc im in the middle of moving and i told the boss that I cant do an entire shift bc of that, so I'm gonna work until around 3-4am today and tmrw and then she's stepping in to cover the breakfast prep so I'm just gonna do the administrative work and the fire rounds and we'll see what we're gonna do after that.

it's bad enough that boss lady even called my mortal work enemy to ask her if she feels like being trained up on the night shifts (and for context, she's everyone's mortal work enemy) so we'll see if she's joining me today or not. Either way, I'm gonna spend my half shift doing my actual job but also trying to write up a easy to understand training manual just in case any of the early or evening workers feel like getting some night money in. It's absolutely not gonna work as a 0 experience manual but I'm hoping i can make it extensive and understandable enough that it'll make the night shift easy once you have experience from the morning and evening shifts.

and like, again again, I could have given her a hard no but 1) I do need the money bc my disability money is not. not good. 2) I'm happy enough stepping in since it's just a half shift and not a full shift bc there's a big difference between being able to go home at 4am and 7am. (and i also get to skip out on breakfast preparations bc I'm ngl. I hate it)
