Poor kid had no idea. I’m right here with Iruma feeling this despair. He was right that he would smile at him but not for the reason he thought he would. Kiriwo failed to get Iruma to despair before but he succeeded the second time. It’s going to really hurt when Iruma’s secret gets out.

Why is Iruma still waiting for Kirio?

It's been more than a year since chapters 303-304 were released, and this has been a rather contentious topic among the fans. Many are frustrated by Iruma's behaviour. Kirio is a literal (failed) terrorist. He is literally trying to eat Iruma! So why is Iruma still keeping his place in their battler?

Many roll their eyes at yet another tired example of a hero using idealism and power of friendship on someone who, realistically, would never be talked out of evil like that. Many believe that it's Iruma being too kind for his own good. That he needs to learn a lesson on when to let something, or someone, go.

To all of these folks, I am going to say - I don't think that's what's happening here. And that the connotations of Iruma still waiting for Kirio are a lot more interesting than one tends to assume.

It took me a while to compile my thoughts on this, but finally I know how to express what I mean. So let us explore the true reasoning for why Iruma is still waiting for Kirio to come back.

It's because he is a freak.
