Voltaire's Prayer
“I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: Oh Lord, make my enemies ridiculous. And God granted it." -Volaire’s letter to Étienne Noël Damilaville, 16 May 1767
I’m inordinately fond of sex, in the political sense.  It’s saved us so often from the worst parts of ourselves.
As far as anti-authoritarian elements of the human experience go, sex is right up there with curiosity and the search for truth- maybe even more so.  When a new tyrant comes to town, shutting down the universities and the libraries is only the second thing they try.  The first thing is to regulate human sexuality to within an inch of its life.  Rules for marriage, rules for courtship, rules for which genitals may touch and where they may touch and when they may touch.  Rules for who and rules for whom.  Rules for which kinds of sex must doom characters in literature, rules for which things may be described as sexy, rules for which things may be described in a sexy way.
Of course they do!  If you’re trying to bind a large polity together under a common ideological narrative, to render people predictable enough to quash dissent and legible enough to exert power through them, the last thing you need is a bunch of folks running around being horny about stuff without permission.  Nature gifted us with a great capacity for reason and community; we have the innate opportunity to learn about ourselves and our neighbors, and to form complex societies based on that understanding.  It was Aristotle who first called us the political animal, and the fruits of that extraordinary capacity will always be within our reach, if only we can come together within a shared understanding.  The invention of the city is the great triumph of our species, and with it we conquer the universe.
But also this extraordinary, reasoning mind has been sculpted from the raw clay of a biology that’s anchored in sexual reproduction, and this ends up being very, very funny.
The problem isn’t so much that the sex instinct exists, per se.  It’s how it’s implemented.  Like most biological forms, the full complement of 86 billion(!) neurons in your brain aren’t encoded in a particular configuration; the brain is much too complex to be described so precisely in the only ~725 megabytes or so of human DNA.  The particular shape of your brain is in there somewhere- the lobes and subregions responsible for vision, memory, cognition, all that- but only up to a point.  The genius and fundamental limitation of genetics is that, below a certain level, the genes instead describe a process for the production and reproduction of specialized cells, and simply constructs them in such a way that they can be relied upon to order themselves as they go.
This is all well and good when we’re talking about kidneys and livers, but the fact that you can encode any kind of specific behavioral instinct in a brain this way is nothing short of a minor miracle.  Think about it!  Spiders don’t have a ‘spider web’ gene, the gene is for ‘proteins that come together in self-assembling electrochemically sensitive gelatin tissue which, when complete, encodes patterns that operate organ systems such as legs and spinnerets in such a way as to reliably create silk webs.’  This is absurdly impressive, and also completely insane.
What I’m getting at is, powerful behavioral instincts in a complex animal aren’t precise instruction manuals by which we pursue evolutionarily advantageous behaviors.  Sex and eros are prior to logic or language, let alone strategy.  Sex is a double-thick electrical wire discharging lightning bolts right through the middle of our cognitive centers, installed in the brain by a surgeon wearing mittens.  It’s an untethered firehose whipping chaotically through the cathedral, unpredictably spraying golden reliquaries with substances unmentionable.  It’s the first and greatest anarchist.
I really can’t overstate my gratitude for this.
Obviously this results in any number of deeply goofy outcomes by way of kinks and odd sexual practices- it gets tangled with pain centers, with random bits of anatomy and proprioception, with our taboos and aversions, with our greatest terrors or our greatest yearnings or just arbitrary stimuli from adolescence, and of course it gets enmeshed so often with our notions of power and submission.  It imbues these things with a fascination and potency out of all proportion with their mundane meanings.  And ultimately, you end up with human pleasures and human values that diverge so far from banal evolutionary imperatives as to be all but unrecognizable.
Even when this process somehow manages to propagate through the brain in such a way as to drive behaviors that are legibly aligned towards some adaptive constraint- e.g. heterosexual mating practices resulting in biological reproduction and careful childrearing- it’s still madness.  Love and sex penetrate deeply across tribal and national and racial boundaries, across economic interests, across battle-lines and enmities.  We become traitors, apostates, emigrants, and artists.  Declare a law, and in short order some hot-headed young people come along to break it in the name of sexual passions you could not possibly have seen coming.  Divide your neighborhood into us and them, and by the time the ink is dry on your proclamation there will be a forbidden relationship across the fence.  There is no social order, no ethical system, no theory of human nature that can entirely withstand contact with the full spectrum of human sexuality, because sex and eros are always going to be exactly as bonkers as the complexity of the human mind and culture will allow, plus a little extra just to be sure.
This isn’t always a delight, of course.  Many prohibitions exist for a very good reason, and the chaos of human sexuality makes no exemptions for true evil.  Some of us end up really, truly victims of this process.  But for all the dangers, the chaos at the root of all this isn’t oriented towards evil.  Chaos just means chaos, essentially arbitrary and hence absurd in character.
And in the grand analysis, we are so lucky to have this thing moving through our communities, this ridiculous madness that guarantees that there will be cracks in every wall and slips exploding cigars in the pockets of the powerful few.  Not in everybody as individuals, of course, and not everybody the same amount; asexuality is certainly one of the outcomes that all this mad gallivanting through our brains can produce.  Sexuality would never be so predictable as to guarantee its own existence, after all.  That’s part of what makes the joke so funny.
But all of us, regardless of sexuality, get to live in a world where the grand anarchy of sex is constantly driving home this lesson that no category is inviolate and no law is perfect.  That we should not and cannot take ourselves too seriously, or forget that we’re animals.  That we don’t exist only for the sake of others, or within their understanding.  That cities are made of cooperation, grace, and forbearance- not conformity or mere compliance.
People sometimes worry about immortality.  In the political sense, I mean.  They worry about eternal dictatorships and unconquerable gerontocracies.  This fear isn’t entirely unjustified; death has often played a role in progress and liberation.  But as long as enough of us are still getting horny without permission, still falling in love in stupid ways, I think we’ll be okay.  Romeo and Juliet don’t have to die at the end to make a difference in the world, as long as they’re brave enough to get weird with it.

Alright I'm bored so here is a needlessly long analysis of how Riko Moriyama doomed his own narrative.
(full spoilers ahead)
As stated in text: "Kevin only hand the strength to leave because Riko destroyed his hand."(tfc, pg.89). If it hadn't happened, Kevin wouldn't have had the guts to leave, and even if he did, Tetsuji would drag him back. Riko rendering Kevin useless for the Ravens was the only reason he was allowed to walk.
This was crucial for Neil's recruitment to be successful for several reasons. First, Kevin was the one who saw real potential in Neil, deciding to travel to bum fuck nowhere Millport to see him in person. It could be argued that Wymack would sniff Neil's fucked up life all the way from PSU and go anyway, but he would have been alone and Neil would have had the chance to escape.
Second, Kevin gave him an excuse to actually join the Foxes' (unreasonable as it was) and not hit the ground running the moment he had an opening. Ironically, at first Neil was ready to bolt specifically because Kevin was part of the Foxes lineup and hadn't it been for Andrew, he would have succeeded.
Third reason and the part to which the arm braking is arguably most relevant; Andrew Minyard, who is somehow at the center of everything, despise insisting that he doesn't give a single fuck.
Andrew was the main anchor that kept Kevin from running back to Nevermore with his figurative tail between his legs. Because of a pact that warrants a whole second essay, Andrew was dragged to Millport with Kevin. In Neil's own words, "Andrew was only here because Kevin Day never went anywhere alone."(tfc, pg.9) which funnily enough was the reason why he ended up with an exy stick between his ribs three pages earlier.
Andrew stopped Neil from running away and continued (albeit reluctantly at first) to provide support even when Neil was one wrong look in his direction away from performing a vanishing act. He continued to be the glue to hold the narrative together all the way to the end. Even if the beginning went the same way, if Andrew was removed from the equation, the story would inevitably fall apart with either Kevin or Neil running back to their old ways before any development could happen.
All that being said, (and here I circle back to my point) Andrew wouldn't have been at Millport if it weren't for Kevin's broken hand, and Neil wouldn't have joined the Foxes. Only with the golden combination of Neil, Andrew and Kevin could the Foxes stand any chance against the Ravens. The combination that Riko brought together by his own action. His own need to establish superiority, because his daddy didn't love him, inevitably allowed Andrew to perform the Shakespearean final act and hit Riko with all the consequences of his actions in one fatal blow.
And that, ladies, gentlemen, trees and other beings, is the conclusion of this "essay". Thank you for coming on this journey with me.

hiiii its been long since i requested anything im general hahaha but how do u think reigen’s f s/o would react on things happening in final arc and the epilogue its so interesting to me plus your writing is so genius i love it! have a nice day love!!
Tumblr media
hiiii! thank you so much!! OH GOD i have so many thoughts and feelings on the final arc let's Jump Right Into It (featuring a teensy bit of "mob is basically your kid" because, well, i have a lot of feelings about that too)
first of all just- worry. you'd probably have a sneaking suspicion that everything going on was because of psychic powers but you might not associate it with mob specifically quite as fast as reigen would. and of course you wouldn't be able to get in touch with anybody so that worry would just build and build until you finally said fuck the evacuation order and went looking at the office.
you and serizawa get there at the same time after reigen sends him away and you're immediately like "where is he." but serizawa sure as hell can't say "well, reigen is currently chucking himself full force into a psychic tornado in an attempt to save the kid you've practically adopted and i just left him there because he told me he had something important he needed to say on his own" so what comes out instead is more like "um. he's. um. reigen. um. kageyama? with kageyama." the vague knowledge that they're together is enough to calm you for the time being and you end up waiting it out in the office with serizawa.
you're not exactly thrilled when reigen shows up covered in blood and cuts after sounding like everything was fine on the phone, but the relief of seeing him intact way overshadows anything else you're feeling when you bolt up to meet them at the door. reigen is pretty sure it's impossible for him to be any more in love with you than he is while he watches you give mob a onceover for injuries and scoop him up into a hug. you're a lot more gentle when you hug reigen because he looks rough, but he squeezes you with everything he's got. all three of you cry, but none of you address it. serizawa graciously looks away, and floats over a box of tissues.
as for the aftermath, treating! his! wounds! neither of you really say anything, there's just the occasional hiss from him when the disinfectant stings a bit too much followed by your immediate response of "I know, I'm sorry, sweetheart." every so often, his hand on your knee will tighten as he tries not to cry again, and you'll take his hand to anchor him as you keep wiping at the dried blood on his face. you'll need to do a more in depth check on him once the two of you get home, but your main focus is getting him cleaned up and into the spare outfit he keeps at the office so he can go back to feeling a little more normal and a little less Vulnerable.
when he finally tells you what happened, he expects you to yell at him for being so reckless, but you just sorta sit quietly until you're sure he's done. you've always admired his willingness to throw himself into situations to save others, to step in where other people probably wouldn't, so it's not like you're upset with him for doing what he thought he needed to do. if anything, you're proud, especially because you know how hard the admission would have been for him. but… you're also not oblivious to the fact that he just walked to the office barefoot. you settle on "I'm glad you're safe." he responds with "me too," and you're not sure even he knows whether he means you or himself. either way, you believe him.
after his confession to mob, it would be easier for his walls to come down around you as well. i don't think he'd start dating you without you knowing the whole Fake Psychic thing in the first place, but mob knowing too just means a whole layer of stress has been taken away from his life and he can breathe a little easier. he still lies sometimes out of… instinct? self-preservation? dramatic embellishment? but by now it's gotten pretty easy for you to tell when he does it, which is less and less as time goes on. the fact that you seem to fall more and more in love with him the more he tells the truth instead of pushing him away like he thought you would definitely helps.
i have a lot of feelings about his birthday in general that i'm having a hard time articulating but i'm also just thinking specifically about the cake incident like… holding his jaw and gently wiping the frosting off his face and laughing with him while all the kids are like "oooooooh!" is a very funny image to me. he's already embarrassed and you feel a little bad but you just can't pass up a chance like this. you give him a lil kiss on the cheek as an apology but it just makes him more flustered because now the kids will NEVER let him live it down.

This is probably gonna sound like a dumb question (and I’m sorry in advance) but I literally know the bare minimum about the Flashfam and their lore, so here we go. You’ve talked before about Kon being Bart’s “Lightning Rod” and from my understanding, it’s more or less a soulmate. Can you tell me more about that?
Hello and apologies for taking so long to get on this one.
A "lightning rod" when it comes to Flash Lore is basically someone who prevents a Speedster from becoming one with the speedforce, or acts as an anchor to find their way back when otherwise lost in speed related... debacles. Like a bolt of lightning to a metal pole they are attracted to them. They are people of whom a speedster has an emotional bond with, romantically, platonically or even antagonistically.
The comics naturally focus more on those that share a romantic bond with a speedster, but there is evidence to support that any strong bond can make a lightning rod regardless of the type of bond they have.
Jay's lightning rod is his sweet Joan of whom being his lightning rod had her own aging 'slowed' to match his (it's a little more complicated than that but for simplicity that is what is going on).
For Barry, Iris is his lightning rod which he was able to use on several occasions to pull himself out of the time stream and back to his own time.
Wally's legendary bond with Linda as a lightning rod is blatant as she helped pull him from the speedforce after he had already merged with it.
There are other instances of Iris and Linda both being lightning rods where not only do they help their speedsters manage their own powers, but by being lightning rods it helps the speedster keep them safe and prevent their own deaths or grievous harm, or in Jay's case extend Joan's life.
The tell-tale sign of a lightning rod for a speedster is of course a romantic bond, or a persistent attraction bringing the two together.
The comics will also blatantly tell you who a lightning rod is eventually using those words, where by then they get... bonus features (like Joan having her aging impacted, Linda getting powers etc).
For Bart we don't have the comics using those specific words for anyone, but in looking at the behaviors of other lightning rods and their speedsters we can sort of extrapolate that Kon, Cassie and Tim are his lightning rods with possibly Cissie (realistically she would be one but she dropped off from continuity so we didn't get to see her much after 2003).
Kon being one with an intense 'pull' for Bart is something that has the most evidence in Young Justice 2019 when Bart worked exhaustively to find Kon and to bring Young Justice back together.
When the newly formed Young Justice sans Kon were all zapped to Gemworld they were all scattered but it was Bart who appeared literally right next to Kon. Everyone else had been deposited in more random places, but not Bart. This suggests that while he does have a bond with Tim and Cassie, it is to Kon that he may have a special bond with.
There are other instances of Kon's existence being a focal point for Bart throughout their comic relationship such as during the World Without Young Justice arc where a de-powered mundane Kon was able to give Bart the courage and strength to overcome his deep paralyzing fear to reabsorb his dying scouts.
Also Kon and Bart have an intense friendship where there are multiple instances where they pick each other up and seek each other out which is at least the grounding basics for a lightning rod. For further reading on that you can look at the Konbart Manifesto.
To quantify if a lightning rod is a soulmate is a little mushy. If you are a romantic sort and the idea of soulmates pleases you tremendously then yes a lightning rod can be used to describe one, but there are more 'extras' that come with a lightning rod than just an intense burning love and a 'meant to be' attraction.
There is something more physical, metaphysical, spiritual and atomic about their bond than it being a divine uncontrollable force. There is an element of spookiness involved for sure, but there also is an element of choice about who become one based on built up love.
A lightning rod is something as profound as a gravitational pull for a speedster; their relationship is like Earth and our moon where Earth is a speedster and the moon is a lightning rod. Without the moon as a ballest Earth's stability in orbit would likely change catastrophically and for a speedster this is also the case.
I hope this makes some semblance of sense.
TLDR: A lightning rod is like a soulmate that a speedster has semi-control over but is no less spooky and endearing.

oooo 29. "Do you know how to use a first aid kit?" for Scavenged AU? - @clxckwork-sun-n-moon
Kori / Eclipse / Chica | Word count: 1743 | AO3 Version
CW // violence, injury and blood
Spoilers for Scavenged
///
Puzzles had never really been Kori's strong suit, so going inside a section of the abandoned Pizzaplex that was made specifically for puzzles was one of his dumber choices as of recent.
He should have known better.
He'd spent too long trying to figure out how the switches worked, made too much noise in his frustration with the ever-changing sections of Mazercise and attracted some unwanted attention.
Now, in the dizzying blocks of colors and moving walls, he narrowly avoided the slicing claws of an animatronic that seemed to want nothing more than to tear the flesh from his bones as he crawled backwards into a cramped, rusting vent that was much too small for him and felt as it if would collapse at any moment.
“Chica-! For fuck sake-!” Kicking at the skeletal hand that reached through the vent, but quickly regretting it as the metal wrapped around his ankle, tearing through the fabric of his jeans and into his flesh.
He winced at the stinging pain, hands sliding across the ragged edges of the vent as he was dragged harshly forwards, hitting his head on the gate edge and out into the open.
Plastic plating and metal edges dug into the skin of his shoulder, pinning him to the ground as a static scream cut through the space between them. Red pinpricks flickered in and out as the half-broken endo arm raised above head, moments from slicing his face before a blur of motion collided with Chica's frame, both figures barreling off to the side in a violent crash against the wall.
Before Kori could orient himself, the bleeding sound of tearing metal screamed in his ears, causing him to flinch as he rolled to his side, pushing himself up on his hands and knees to get a better angle at what has just occurred.
Eclipse loomed over Chica, a hand buried deep in her chest for only a moment before it pulled out, wrenching gears and wires from her frame, electricity sparking around the exposed copper.
Chica's arms struggled against Eclipse's frame for a brief moment, claws leaving thin marks along their casing but ultimately falling limp with the rest of her body, sliding to the floor in a mutilated heap of metal.
Without wasting any time to acknowledge their fellow animatronic, the celestial attendant turned and scrambled to Kori's side, hand outstretched and hovering just inches above him. One eye twitched with concern, the half of their mouth that function pulled down at the corner in an odd sort of frustrated frown.
A mess of static and unintelligible words poured from their voice-box, too fast and too garbled to understand.
“Sorry, bud.” He winced, the injury in his ankle flaring to life. “I didn't mean to stay out so long.”
The hand hovering near by came to gently brush the hair from his face, their eyes flickering down to his injury briefly.
“Walk?” The singular word was barely understandable, but Kori had gotten somewhat used to the broken voice-box.
“Um, maybe.” He braced himself against the wall, using it as an anchor to hoist himself into a standing position, but the moment his foot met the ground a shot of pain bolted up his leg, leaving it aching as he could feel his pulse through the muscles.
“Or maybe not.”
Eclipse hovered for a moment, white pupils in a void of black flickering between Kori and some unknown distance beyond, their face-plate clicking from side of side like they were contemplating something.
After a moment of silence the animatronic shifted, reaching out to grasp Kori by the arm and pulling him closer.
He stumbled, wincing at the sudden movement but even more surprised when his companion reached down, catching him by the back of the legs and picking him up, leaning him back so he was balanced between the attendants chest and arm.
From this proximity he could hear the gentle clicks and whirring of Eclipse's inner workings, and the quiet creak of worn metal under too much stress, but before Kori could protest this new arrangement, Eclipse started walking through the maze with the confidence of someone who knew exactly where the exit was.
He knew to protest being carried would be futile, so he took the opportunity to instead look over their shoulder at the remains of the chicken animatronic, a sense of misplaced loss washing over him.
He hadn't realized he'd space out until Eclipse gently tapped his thigh, signaling that he was being set down.
He braced himself for the pain he assumed was coming but couldn't stop the wince from flashing across his face. “Ow.”
Eclipse hovered nervously for a moment, the twitching in his body language a little more evident.
Kori carefully lowered himself to the ground, making a noise of discomfort as he sat, bringing his leg closer and tugging at his jeans to get a look at the injury.
Chica's claws had run a long, bloody line down his ankle – thankfully missing the tendon, but it still hurt like hell and he could feel the blood trickling from the wound.
With a disappointed sigh he let his hands drop to his sides, his shoulders slumping. “Well, shit. I can't feasibly leave that alone until I get home without it getting worse. Especially since I have to drive home.” He groaned dramatically, leaning back against the piece of desk that still somewhat resembled it's original structure.
Eclipse twitched at the cuss word, a look of annoyance crossing the half of their face that remained functional, but they made no attempt at reprimanding Kori, and instead turned on their heel and stalked towards the Daycare doors.
“Whoa, where are you going?” Kori shifted forwards, and Eclipse's head swiveled around to give him a pointed glare which kept him seated.
“Back soon. Stay.” They waved vaguely before turning their head the correct way and vanishing behind the burned doors.
Kori sat staring at the door blankly, his fingers threading through the folds of his bandanna in a nervous habit and trying not to think too much about about his injury.
Was Eclipse upset that he'd wandered off for so long? That made sense if it was the case, they had told him to be quick and instead he'd gotten caught up in a maze and nearly torn to shreds by a chicken.
How had Eclipse gotten there so fast anyway? Kori hadn't told them where he was going, and he was a good ten minute walk from the daycare at that point.
Something to ask about when they returned.
At least now they didn't have to worry about Chica anymore.
He half wondered what the animatronic was like before all this – before the Pizzaplex burned down and her systems went haywire. She had probably been pretty friendly, considering the brand was mostly catered to children.
From what little was left of the merch and posters scattered about the building, it seemed like the chicken enjoyed parties and pizza specifically (How did an animatronic eat, anyway?), so she probably had a somewhat jovial personality – but to be honest, most of the posters painted the Glamrock cast as bubbly characters, and Kori new for a fact that Monty was anything but bubbly, and Chica might have been a similar case.
He almost wished he'd visited the place before it burned down, just so he'd have had an idea about the bots and the building itself before rummaging around in it's remains.
Almost.
The tell-tale creak of the large wooden doors snapped Kori out of his thoughts, and Eclipse slipped through the opening, their arm full of miss-matched items that looked to be teetering on the edge of falling out of their grasp.
They met Kori's gaze for a moment – likely making sure he was still where they'd left him, and closed the door with his heel.
“Feeling?” They crackled, and Kori tilted his head curiously. “Better? Not really. It's still kinda throbbing.” He carefully tilted his leg, trying not to grimace at the bloody mess of his ankle.
Eclipse crouch beside him, letting the items in his grasp tumble to the floor – unable to properly set them down due to his limited appendages.
Taking a moment to glance over the items, Kori realized they were medical supplies – mostly bandages and alcohol wipes.
He blinked, brows furrowing. “Did you just... find a first aid kit for me? Do you know how to use a first aid kit?” he looked up at the animatronic who was staring back, a curious tilt to their face-plate.
They shared a moment of silence, each confused in their own right before Eclipse spoke up. “Of course?”
Of course. Oh god, of course. Because normal people help others when they're injured. Fuck.
Heat swarmed Kori's cheeks and he mentally berated himself for such a stupid slip-up. Of course Eclipse would help him. Because most people are kind and have at least some semblance of empathy unlike the people Kori had a penchant for attracting. Why would he ever think Eclipse of all people wouldn't help him when they'd been so kind every time before?
A hand gently touched the crown of his bowed head and Kori flinched, fingers clenching around the soft blue fabric of his bandanna. “Sorry-” “Friend.”
Eclipse's voice was clearer, softer and more coherent than Kori had ever heard it.
Daring a glance up at the attendants face proved only to confused him further, as the once white pinpricks in a void of black were now replaced with a larger, soft blue pupil that kept a steady, comforting gaze on their panicked companion.
Their hand came to gently brush their knuckles across his cheek, their head tilting as they leaned closer, eye flickering between his. “It's okay.”
A tightness in Kori's throat made it hard to speak and the heat in his cheeks did nothing to quell his embarrassment, so he dropped his gaze, instead choosing to fidget with the tattered ends of his sleeves, his face gently leaning into the comforting touch.
“Okay,” he breathed, “It's okay.” he closed his eyes and sucked in a deep breath, holding it for a moment before letting it go and reopening his eyes, a little more confident.
Eclipse's face-plate did a full turn, drawing a quiet giggle from Kori before they returned to their original task.

Responding here as to not clog the reblog chain too much:
Oh Mudclaw is absolutely gloating in the afterlife lmao.
In my concept he still very much got squashed by a bolt of divine retribution but ultimately StarClan is powerless as his legend develops.
When finally Onestar kicks it he's so so so unpopular that the whole of WindClan basically throws a party to celebrate that the two biggest thorns on their sides took each other out. And of course Mudclaw is at this point a well-established symbol of rebellion against Onestar. Every time he makes an unpopular decision or he pushes the warmonger act too far there's whispers of "Mudclaw would never have done that", "We were fools to ever support him", "shame StarClan missed with that tree".
It wasn't at all unexpected but still quite shocking for the spirits of StarClan to see the dude they specifically smote showing up like within a day after Onestar sunk to the bottom of the lake, his corpse forgotten and his spirit anchored to the material realm, unable to ascend.
There's another much more invented whole-cloth element to the worldbuilding of this rewrite thingy that is relevant here and which I want to share: Clan cat souls after having a funeral performed for them gain the ability of transforming into a bird that represents their personality. StarClan cats can decide to appear either in bird form and they use them to traverse the sky islands of the clouds. And Mudclaw absolutely makes a point of making a very dramatic entrance into StarClan. He's one of the cats most likely to flaunt it.
Mudclaw's bird form is a raven, a carrion eater that feasts on the spoils of battlefields and presages death.

Plasterboard Walls & TV Mounting: Is It Safe in London?
Tumblr media
If you're living in London and considering mounting your TV on a plasterboard wall, you might be wondering, is it safe? Plasterboard walls, also known as drywall, can present unique challenges when it comes to mounting heavy objects like TVs. Let's delve into this topic to understand the safety considerations involved.
Understanding Plasterboard Walls
Plasterboard walls are a common feature in many homes and buildings in London. They consist of a layer of gypsum sandwiched between two layers of paper. While they are lightweight and easy to install, they may not have the structural strength of traditional brick or concrete walls.
Factors to Consider
Wall Studs: When mounting a TV on a plasterboard wall, it's crucial to anchor it securely to the wall studs. Wall studs provide the necessary support to hold the weight of the TV and prevent it from falling. Using appropriate hardware, such as heavy-duty wall anchors or toggle bolts, can help distribute the weight evenly and minimize the risk of damage to the wall.
Tip: Use a stud finder to locate the studs behind the plasterboard before mounting your TV.
TV Weight: The weight of your TV plays a significant role in determining the safety of mounting it on a plasterboard wall. Larger, heavier TVs require stronger mounting hardware and may put more stress on the wall.
Tip: Check the manufacturer's specifications for your TV to ensure compatibility with plasterboard walls.
Mounting Technique: Proper mounting technique is essential for ensuring the safety and stability of your TV on a plasterboard wall. Avoid using nails or screws directly into the plasterboard, as they may not provide sufficient support.
Tip: Consider hiring a professional TV mounting service with experience in mounting TVs on plasterboard walls.
Is It Safe?
With the right hardware, techniques, and precautions, mounting a TV on a plasterboard wall can be safe in London. However, it's crucial to take the necessary steps to ensure proper installation and minimize the risk of damage or accidents.
In conclusion, while mounting a TV on a plasterboard wall in London is possible, it requires careful consideration of the factors mentioned above. To ensure the safety and stability of your TV installation, consider consulting a professional TV wall mounting service in London like TV Mount Mate for expert assistance. With their expertise and knowledge, they can help you mount your TV securely and safely on any type of wall. Don't take chances with DIY installations when it comes to your valuable electronics – trust the experts for peace of mind.

Architects of the Ashes: Chapter 1
|| FFXIV || Rated M || (1 / ???)
Ao3 Link
At the edge of the known universe, the Warrior of Light's simple wish has some unintended consequences. Now it's up to Eachna—and her many friends at the Last Dregs—to help a newly reconstructed Zenos learn how to be a better person. Fortunately for him, his mirror isn't the best role model when it comes to playing by the rules.
“One small organ that beats hard enough to shake the universe─ a spark of hope to shape a star.” - N-7000
Deep in the desert of my heart, a lonely flower blooms—
Although Tataru had never set foot on Ultima Thule, her favorite ballad echoed across the barren landscape of dead stars. It drifted above the sandy dunes of the Ea, whose people had long ago forgotten what it felt like to vibrate one’s vocal chords in a rhythmic and pleasing manner. It echoed in the craggy cliffsides of Reah Tahra, where dragons in decaying nests recalled the long-lost days when they, too, had lifted their voices together in song.
Yearning for the heavens above—
The refrain reached Base Omicron, sensors and satellites alight with its warbling vibrations. Military units paused in their daily tasks, clawed hands grasping at the air as they processed the foreign noise as illogical data. The only song heard in this place was of utter despair, not love.
To quench my thirst for you—
In the Last Dregs, the melody was finally lost amidst the clanking platters and rattling silverware. The only one able to hear its faint stirrings was possessed of large, furry ears.
“Hmm?” Jammingway turned, tilting their head and cupping one ear to better hear over the buzz of multiple conversations. Closing their eyes, they focused on the tiny voice that seemed to call from beyond the very stars themselves.
“Analysis?” N-7000 joined them at the edge of the café’s large stone steps, hovering in place as it waited for the Loporrit to speak.
“Unless my ears deceive me—and it’s rare they do—that sounds an awful lot like Eachna.” N-7000 whirred, gears churning as it scanned the distant horizon.
“Affirmative,” it replied, after a moment’s processing. “Approaching life-form from the ship Ragnarok meets appropriate specifications for classification as allied unit D’arcy, Eachna. Estimated time of arrival: one bell.”
“Mother be praised!” Jammingway cheered, pumping their furry fist with excitement. “Perfect timing, too! You couldn’t ask for a better day for a picnic; not an astromagnetic storm in sight. I’ll go right now and start a fresh batch of carrot soup.”
“This unit does not understand the motive behind such actions.” N-700 buzzed thoughtfully. “Allied unit Eachna has shown an average satisfaction rate of 27.4% for carrot soup. Alternate menu items guaranteed to achieve optimum satisfaction rates: roast hamsa, seaweed salad, braised—”
“What are you talking about, you bucket of bolts? Everyone loves carrot soup!”
_______________________________________________
Eachna panted as she climbed the sprawling structure above Base Omicron, one hand rubbing at the persistent stitch in her side. The rock-strewn path zigzagged beneath her boots, precarious footholds anchored by solid bridges of aquamarine crystal. In some ways, the fragmented landscape reminded her of the Floating City of Nym, although these floating structures were devoid of life yet. The few scrubby vines that sprouted among the stones were brown and dried, crumbling to ashen powder beneath her heels.
At last she crested the final rise, standing on the solid expanse of barren land that bordered the abandoned plaza. The Last Dregs glowed brightly in the perpetual twilight, a true beacon of hope outshining everything for malms around. Even the fluorescent lights of the Omicron base weren’t half as bright. She quickly passed through the dusty plaza, drawn to the golden warmth that seemed to emanate from the café.
As she approached, she realized that the number of customers had nearly tripled in size since her last visit. Shadows danced along the curved shelves as Elysion’s inhabitants passed through the café, milling about on the stone steps and leaning against the round pillars as they conversed with one another. Omicron units hovered from station to station, waiting tables and explaining the menu to curious patrons. Other units scanned the finished diners as they bussed the tables, cataloguing the different gustatory sensations before delivering them to groups of delighted Ea.
A Karellian soldier, seated at a table of friends and former enemies, noticed her and waved cheerfully. Eachna waved back, the hairs on her bare arm lifting as a levin-charged Miw Miisv drifted aimlessly by. A ghostly dragon took to the skies, soaring high with an echoing roar. Her mouth watered at the rich scent of freshly ground coffee carried on its pale wings.
She couldn’t help but smile, cheeks dimpling at the sight of so many people. For untold ages, despair had held full sway over this empty land; now, both the café and its patrons were thriving. If Stigma-4 continued to create replicas from the dead stars, Ultima Thule would be filled to flowing with new life in no time at all.
N-7000 might call it a job well done, but it was so much more than that. The Last Dregs was standing proof of convictions she’d held for ages, ones so deeply rooted that it was near impossible to convey in words. Her heart swelled in her chest, fit to burst with the overwhelming rightness of it all.
“Eachna!” Jammingway called to her from the café entrance, waving with both arms as they ran towards her. “Welcome back, it’s been far too long!”
“Correction,” N-7000 buzzed, floating a half-step behind. “It has been exactly seven moons, two weeks, four days—”
“Oh, hush! You know what I meant, Forky!” Eachna couldn’t help but laugh at the scrunched little scowl on their face. “And anyway, who’s counting?”
“It has been a long time,” she conceded, kneeling down to clasp Jammingway’s proffered paws. “I can see the Last Dregs is doing well for itself. There’s not an empty table in sight.” Her lips quirked as she caught sight of a quivering Ea, clearly overcome by the culinary sensation it was experiencing. Its fellows bombarded it with countless questions, gelatinous heads detaching to float above the Omicron barista’s dome.
“Isn’t it a dream come true?” Jammingway gushed. “Even the Nibirun have settled in and made themselves at home. I actually caught one laughing the other day—laughing! It’s better than I could have ever imagined; the place practically runs itself. Not that I need you taking that as another sign to hibernate,” they added, glancing accusingly at N-7000.
“Fret not. Hibernation is not within this unit’s near future.”
“I’m glad to hear it,” Eachna laughed. “All of it, really.” Turning, she looked again at the patrons enjoying their meals. The golden light blurred and she blinked in surprise, reaching up to find that tears were building at the corners of her eyes. She swallowed back the lump in her throat, heart pounding almost painfully in her chest.
Thanks to Meteion, she had suffered alongside these people. She had watched their destruction, felt their anguish, mourned their deaths. Their undying despair had wrenched her heart in twain more than once during her journey to the center of the dying sun. Some had inspired pity, others anger. But every last one of them had been in immeasurable pain. Even the Nibirun, who chose peaceful death over a life with no purpose, had been in pain.
To see them now, knowing where they had once been…. Jammingway was right: it was a dream come true. They deserved this second chance at life, to make right the wrongs which had led to their destruction. They deserved to learn and grow, to achieve happiness for its own sake. She turned her eyes to the vast star above the café, the wellspring of pain that had served as Metion’s nest. How many memories remained inside, trapped by the twisted dynamis of their own despair?
I want them all to have this second chance. Every last one of them.
“And anyway,” Jammingway prattled on, oblivious to her musings, “since you’re here, I thought we might have a picnic! I packed all the best foods the café has to offer. We have carrot soup, carrot salad, carrot juice, carrot cake—”
“Oh… erm, that’s… that’s great!” Eachna managed a smile, brows knitted in consternation. “I’m sure it’ll be delicious.”
“Be at ease.” N-7000 fairly vibrated with something akin to self-righteousness. “Unlike certain annoying life-forms, this unit took allied unit Eachna’s satisfaction rate into account when choosing appropriate sustenance.”
“Hey! What are you saying?” Jammingway fumed. “Eachna loves carrots just as much as I do! Don’t you?”
“I don’t hate carrots, per se….”
“Allied unit Eachna’s average carrot consumption does not exceed one half of her nutritional intake. As such, this unit took the liberty of adding—” N-7000 trailed to a stop, hovering silently with one arm outstretched.
“With what!? Just what have you added?” Jammingway insisted, stomping their feet. “If you’ve squashed my carrot cake by crowding the basket, I’m going to be very cross!”
“New life has arrived in Elysion.” N-7000 whirred, effectively ignoring Jammingway’s one-sided tirade. “Repeat, new life has arrived in Elysion. Scanners indicate only one life-form at this time.”
“What? Only one?” The carrot cake was completely forgiven—or forgotten for the time being—as Jammingway immediately shifted into entrepreneur mode. “That’s odd. Normally they show up in groups. Still, you know what they say: where one is, more may follow. The picnic will just have to wait. You don’t mind, do you?”
“Not at all!” Eachna secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Carrots were not her favorite by any stretch of imagination, but Jammingway seemed determined to believe that everyone loved the orange vegetable just as much as they did. Perhaps she could sneak away long enough to check the contents of this picnic basket for herself….
“That settles it, then!” Jammingway beamed, hands on their hips. “Lead the way, N-7000! Let’s go meet our newest friend!”
_______________________________________________
“Are you absolutely certain the new life form landed up here?” Jammingway balanced precariously atop N-7000’s chassis, shielding their eyes with one paw from the glaring light of the dynamis staircase. The summit of the dead sun was shadowy in comparison, the bed of Elpis flowers a faint glow in the near distance. “All I see are stairs, stairs, and more stairs.”
“Affirmative. New life-form scan readings indicate this as the proposed landing trajectory.”
“But I thought that Stigma-4 created the simulations,” Eachna said, practically jogging to keep pace as they climbed the endlessly winding stairs. “Does the star just… spit them out?” Jammingway shrugged.
“Your guess is as good as mine. Normally they find Elysion long before we find them.” They lurched, grabbing hold of N-7000s rabbit ear accessories as the staircase grew steeper. “I wonder what sort of life-form we’ll meet this time? Do you recall any other civilizations from the Dead Ends?”
“I don’t think so.” All the civilizations she’d seen in the heart of the dead star were already café patrons: sweet, chubby Grebuloffs; armored, pedantic Karellians; graceful, nihilistic Nibiruns. As she pondered these strange races, she found her own curiosity rising alongside Jammingway’s. What would this new life-form look like?
Would they be large and powerful like the wraithlike dragons, or perhaps smooth and gelatinous like the Ea? Figure after figure flashed through her mind’s eye: malformed voidsent, gaunt sin eaters, bewhiskered kobolds, feathery Vanu Vanu, impish pixies… would this new person’s shape be something familiar, or wholly new? Would they be calculating, or emotional? Despondent, or hopeful?
Lifting her eyes towards the summit, Eachna stopped short at the sight of a weapon at the top of the staircase: a long, curved blade, wider than the span of her arm at its thickest and tapering to a razor-sharp point. It was attached to an even longer shaft, knocked sideways as though it had fallen from a great height only to lodge itself deep into the cracked earth. Her eyes traced the familiar bony plating along the blade’s outer edge, breath catching in her throat at the sight of a broken revolver cylinder hanging askew from the handle.
“Oh, no.”
“What is it?” Jammingway leaned forward eagerly, ears pricked and nose twitching. “Do you see them?”
“It can’t be.” The reaper stone seemed to burn a hole in the pocket of her knapsack, the collected aetheric signatures within drawn to the scythe at the top of the stairs. She gulped back the emotions threatening to overpower her, gorge rising and fingertips tingling at the memory of fighting to draw her bow with slippery, bloodstained hands. Her very muscles seemed to burn with a phantom ache, the echoes of a fight that ended only when the last flickering embers of her life could no longer withstand the onslaught.
“Eachna?” Jammingway looked at her strangely. “Are you alright? You look a little pale…. Well, you always look pale, especially here, but this is even worse—”
“Allied unit’s heart rate is increasing at an exponential pace—”
“It just can’t be!” Eachna took the remaining stairs two at a time, tripping on the topmost step in her rush and landing facefirst on the scorched earth. She stumbled to her knees, scraped palms burning as she brushed the stains from her trousers, and groaned aloud at the sight before her. “Oh, isn’t this just a—” Her tongue felt too large for her mouth, jaw working as she searched for the right oath to express the depths of her frustration.
“You!” she finally spat, picking up a handful of the ashen dust and flinging it—rather unsuccessfully—at the figure lying eagle-spread in a heap of crushed flowers. “Damn you to all seven bloody hells!”
“What’s the matter? Is it a— wait a minute!” Jammingway practically wilted on the spot. “That’s no alien life-form! That’s an Etheiryan!”
“Scanners indicate unconscious life-form is composed of dynamis,” N-7000 protested.
“Okay, okay! Don’t blow a gasket.” Jammingway slipped from the unit’s shoulders, dangling for a moment from one clawed appendage before landing deftly, if not gracefully, at its side. “So he’s a dynamis simulation. That still doesn’t explain what an Etheiryan was doing inside the dead star, nor how he came to be there in the first place.”
“Oh… that’s partly my fault.” Eachna winced. “We had a fight to the death, and I might have left him there? Accidentally?”
“You—a fight to—left him—” Jammingway’s look of abject horror gave way to weariness. “I don’t even know which part of that sentence to address first.”
“It’s not like I meant to do it!” Gathering her courage, she crept close enough to toe the heel of one heavy boot. She kicked at it lightly, watching for any signs of regaining consciousness. “Of all the people in all the worlds,” she sighed, “why did it have to be you?”
“Parameters for acceptable simulations of life-forms for Elysion were recently altered by fluctuations in dynamis,” N-7000 stated. “Cause of anomaly: allied unit Eachna.”
“Me!?” she echoed in dismay. “But I didn’t even do anything this time! And I certainly didn’t ask for him!”
“Through dynamis, you expressed a desire—a “wish”, as this overexcited life-form continues to insist—that all sentient beings within Ultima Thule might experience a second chance at life through simulated existence. As this life-form’s last documented location was well within parameters, he has been restored accordingly.”
“I can assure you, this is not what I meant.” Eachna’s shoulders slumped. “Does this even count as a second chance? It’s not really him,” she pointed out. “It’s just a copy.” Even as she spoke, she remembered how he had once transcended death using the power of the Resonance. Could such a thing possibly happen again?
“Regardless of intent, this life-form form now exists in the same capacity as all other life-forms within Elysion,” N-7000 answered. “Metaphysically, we are but memories recreated for the purpose of continued study by Stigma-4. Alternatively, philosophical debate documented between the Ea and the Nibirun suggest that the nature of said existence—whether or not we are “real”—is wholly reliant upon individual interpretation.”
“That means it’s really up to him in the end, isn’t it?” Jammingway mused. “Still, we probably ought to wait until he’s settled in before asking those sorts of questions. Just thinking about them is enough to give me a headache.”
“Cranial pain aside, this unit is in agreement.”
“That’s fine and all, but it still doesn’t help in this situation.” Eachna rubbed her eyes wearily. “You don’t realize what he’s capable of.” She let the knapsack slip from her shoulders, digging through the many pockets until she emerged with her battered codex. Flipping through pages of notes, she finally settled on one near the end and handed it to Jammingway. “This will tell you more than enough.”
“Archaic,” N-7000 buzzed, scanning the page and committing the contents to memory. “Assimilating data for future calculations—!! Results not favorable.”
“You’re not kidding!” Jammingway shook their head, paw sliding down the page as they read through the notes at a slower pace. “If this Zenos wakes up and decides to make Ultima Thule his new hunting grounds, all our hard work could be undone!”
“Calculated levels of despair exceed all known parameters.”
“My point exactly.”
“Query: what course of action should be undertaken?” N-7000 turned to Eachna, scratching its dome. “Immediate termination of life-form would directly oppose the mission objective.”
“That’s also not very fair, is it?” Jammingway closed the codex with a heavy thud. “If we judged every patron based on their past actions, the café wouldn’t have any clientele at all. And after all, you were the one who wanted everyone to have a second chance.”
“Agreed. This unit also acknowledges the accountability of allied unit Eachna.”
“Huh? Why me?!” Taken aback, Eachna raised her hands in an admittedly paltry defense. “What am I supposed to do about him? I can’t very well take him with me when I leave.”
“This is factual. In their current state, simulations would become highly unstable without an accessible form of dynamis. Departure is unadvised.”
“Bugger.” She gazed down at the Garlean prince, sprawled amidst the flowers. The expression on his face was calmer than she’d ever seen it, passive as though in deepest slumber. A part of her hoped that he might be dead, but even in the murky shadow she could see the regular rise and fall of his chest. Each breath stirred the fine blonde hairs trapped beneath his cheek, pale as death against the backdrop of his crumpled cloak.
“Alright,” she finally said. “This is what we’re going to do. N-7000, I want you to take this scythe and hide it somewhere. The café, Elysion, Base Omicron: I don’t care, just so long as it’s in a spot he won’t be able to access easily. We have to make sure he stays unarmed until I can convince him not to go around picking fights with anything that moves.”
“Affirmed. This unit will follow your orders to the best of its abilities.”
“Jammingway, can you make sure no one from the café comes anywhere near this area for a while?” She ran both hands through her curls, tangling them in her fingers and tugging as she thought. “Hopefully I’ll have a plan by the time he wakes up, but in any case it’s probably best that I speak to him alone first. I don’t want to fight him again unless I absolutely have to.” There was no guarantee that she’d be so lucky this time, without the Scions there to pull her back from the brink with their healing magics.
“You can count on me! I’ll make sure no one even looks in this direction until you give the signal!”
“As for me….” Eachna plopped down at his side, stretching her legs as she made herself comfortable. “You’re right. If I summoned Zenos, even by accident, that makes him my responsibility—at least for the moment. I’ll stay here until he wakes up. After that, whatever happens will simply have to happen.” Her tone was nonchalant, borderline cheerful; despite this, the flowers nearest her grew dull with unease.
“This unit would like to call your attention to the Gordhona Guardian located at the Last Dregs. Its protocols advise for the termination of rude intruders.”
“N-7000’s right.” Jammingway returned the codex, flapping their ears with a rosy smile. “If you get into trouble, just scream really loudly and we’ll come running to help. Okay?” She nodded, and together they watched as N-7000 wrenched the scythe from the earth, leaving behind a divot roughly the size of a small fissure.
“By the way, Eachna.” They stared openly at Zenos, nose twitching. “The way I understand it, we Loporrits have a different sort of society than the people on Etheirys. When he was helping us on the moon, Urianger told us all about the different type of relationships you all can have with one another. Some of them seemed relatively straightforward, but others were quite complicated.”
“Yes? What about it?”
“In the codex, you wrote that Zenos thought of you as his friend. But he also tried to kill you, and nearly succeeded.” Jammingway looked at her thoughtfully. “Is that a complicated sort of friendship?”
“I—” Before she could formulate a response, Zero’s words echoed in her mind. Zenos called you "friend." That's what you are? A friend?  At the time, she’d been too startled at the sight of his avatar made flesh to say much on the subject. Even now, she had no clue what—or how—she felt about the fallen prince. Jammingway waited patiently for her answer, bright eyes unwavering.
“I think… that it was very complicated,” she agreed slowly. “Whether it still is remains to be seen.” Jammingway nodded, reaching out to pat her knee gently before following N-7000 down the glowing stairs. Eachna watched them leave, squinting until they were little more than two floating dots in a sea of shadows. She reached out and picked a flower, twirling the stem between her fingers as she thought.
Everyone deserves a second chance, the little voice in her head whispered. It often reminded her of Fray, only less bloodthirsty and more argumentative. But society so loves to force its arbitrary rules. Gaius serves Werlyt while Yotsuyu lies cold in the grave. Miracles happen every day, but Hermes will never regain what was lost. You yourself are torn between your brotherly love for Themis and the knowledge that you are destined to end his life. Why must one earn repentance while another suffers? What balance can be found in this mindless rule?
They earn repentance through their deeds, she argued, plucking the petals from the stem. By learning from the past and choosing to make amends.
Is that the case? Well, then: who are you to deny him that choice? You are his mirror, the reflection of what he can become. If he must learn, then teach him. If he needs growth, guide him.
And at the end, if he still chooses to dream of battle? What then?
Why, then you take responsibility.
“Seven hells,” she muttered, casting the petals aloft. With no breeze to bear them, they fluttered to land at her heels. “How am I supposed to teach you to behave?” she asked the sleeping figure, tracing his jawline with her eyes. “Are you even going to listen to me?” But towards you and you alone, he behaved...differently. And I cannot fathom why.
“I guess we’ll find out together.”

heyhey so i love your AMposting a lot and would be super interested in making some art of your AM(if that’s ok with you) in other words, im asking for a description of how you imagine your AM? i know he’s around 12 feet tall and humanoid, but not much else. sorry if this comes off as rude at all i just really like your concepts!!
To be honest I'm surprised anyone wanted to draw the one I've interpreted lmao. I don't mind if you want to draw them, personally I kept the description vague since the idea I have for AMaton is still a wip, and I wanted to focus more on what it does instead of how it looks. That said I do have sketches if you're not put off by something that looks like something out of heironymus bosch/baphomet-esque in that it is something of a chimera of different creatures into one entity.
Once I get the sketches I have down for it I'll probably post drawings of my own, but until then I can give you something to go off of, I love seeing different interpretations. This will be under a cut since the description got a bit long.
AM is I interpret it, has a body that is 12 feet tall, they are powerful in build, well muscled, they resemble something along the lines of a heavyweight weight lifter/wrestler in body. There is nothing light weight about it. It does have something along the lines of feminine curves, in that the shoulders and hips are wider than the middle, but its not super noticeable. But it also does not opt to go fully human either, it does not really want to associate with the creatures it hates so dearly.
The hands are human, but if it wishes the tips of the fingers can become thick, hooked claws, like a massive eagle ( I have not decided whether it just wills them into existence or if they are just retractable). It's legs are slightly digitgrade, looking like someone whom stands on the balls of their feet or their toes instead of going fully bestial. The four toes are not tipped with great claws, but instead look like something akin to an early prehistoric horse, digits with hooflike coverings on the ends (if you want something specific, look up Eohippus).
The face is the furthest thing from human. It is a mix of beasts into one terrifying visage. A long snout that seems nearly skeletal sprouts from a head with four eyes that have bluish green pupils and black scleras. Two of them face forward, the other two point to the sides like grazing animal. The forehead is long and sloped, there is a ridge down the middle anchoring powerful jaw muscles. Behind its lips are teeth that looks like something out of a prehistoric fish; very blade-like (dunkleosteus is a good reference for this). The ears are like those of a big cat.
Overall its surface appears to move like liquid metal, very smooth and fluid. There's not much in the way of bolts or seams, and the tech it stole to make it is so far flung in terms of technological prowess as to appear organic instead of highly mechanical. It shimmers like chrome and is highly reflective like a mirror.
AMaton tends to walk without clothing, it holds pride regarding its body and frankly holds no feelings of modesty or shame regarding being nude.

Hi, uh. I wrote more angst.
Here's the AO3 link!
Summary: Danny wakes up in chains, Clockwork and the Observants hovering above him. Knowing only one fate could bring them here, he didn’t even fight, just bowing his head and waiting.
Preview:
Danny awoke as his body fell with a dull thud against the ground. In an instant, he was shooting up to his feet to prep for an attack, only to feel a pressure against his wrists jerking him back down.
Confusion and panic warred in his mind as he studied his wrists. More specifically, the shackles on them, which were bolted to the floor beneath him. Some part of him recognized the floor beneath him as the floor of his own bedroom and when the hell did a shackle anchor point get installed?

Types of Insulators in Overhead Lines: The Ultimate Guide
Within the realm of electrical power transmission, overhead wires assume a pivotal function in facilitating the effective conveyance of electricity across extensive distances.  The aforementioned lines are upheld by a system of towers and poles, and a crucial element that guarantees their dependable functionality is the insulator.  Insulators are specifically engineered to impede the transmission of electrical current between the conductive elements and the supporting frameworks, ensuring the safety of the lines and upholding a consistent electrical provision.  Strengthen your electrical networks - Trust the expertly crafted Medium Voltage Support Insulators offered by Radiant Enterprises - one of the leading Medium Voltage Support Insulator manufacturers in India!
Tumblr media
This comprehensive reference aims to examine the various classifications of insulators utilised in overhead lines, elucidating their distinctive characteristics and practical implementations.
Pin Insulators:
Pin insulators are widely utilised in overhead lines, making them one of the most prevalent types in use.  The components are comprised of a body made of either ceramic or glass, including a spindle located at the bottom that is securely attached to the cross-arm of the supporting structure.  The conductors are affixed to the upper groove of the insulator, therefore ensuring electrical isolation.  Pin insulators are commonly used due to their simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and capacity to endure mechanical and electrical pressures.  Distribution lines and low-voltage transmission lines frequently employ these devices.
Suspension Insulators:
Suspension insulators are utilised in high-voltage transmission lines characterised by elevated tension levels.  The design of these units involves a serial connection of insulators, resulting in the formation of an elongated chain.  Typically, a unit comprises a ceramic or composite disc accompanied by a metallic cover and an insulating cement joint.  Suspension insulators are affixed to the cross-arm through the use of an insulating string, so facilitating the suspension of the conductor beneath the tower.  These insulators exhibit exceptional mechanical durability and demonstrate remarkable efficacy in environments characterised by substantial levels of pollution, such as industrial zones.
Strain Insulators:
When a transmission line terminates or a sharp turn is made in the line's direction, strain insulators are employed to securely terminate or anchor the conductors.  They are built to endure the mechanical tension of the hung conductor as well as the electrical stress.  Strain insulators are often constructed of porcelain or toughened glass and have a long, cylindrical shape.  Their major function is to disperse mechanical forces while preventing electrical contact.
Shackle Insulators:
Low-voltage distribution lines typically make use of shackle insulators, which are sometimes known as spool or link insulators.  Made of porcelain or polymer, they take the form of a spool.  Shackle insulators can be fastened to their support structure with a nut and bolt thanks to the centrally located threaded bolt.  The shackle eye is then used to secure the conductor.  For low-voltage uses, these insulators are a straightforward and inexpensive option.  Experience comfort and energy efficiency - Order high-quality Indoor Insulators manufactured and supplied by Radiant Enterprises - one of the renowned Indoor Insulator manufacturers in India!
Composite Insulators:
In recent years, composite insulators have experienced a surge in popularity owing to their advantageous characteristics, including their lightweight nature, superior mechanical strength, and exceptional pollution resistance.  Typically, these objects consist of a core made of fibreglass and a housing made of silicone rubber.  Composite insulators possess superior resistance to adverse environmental conditions, hence decreasing the necessity for maintenance.  Insulators made of alternative materials are employed in both distribution and transmission lines, serving as a practical substitute for conventional porcelain insulators.
Post Insulators:
Post insulators are commonly utilised in substations and various electrical apparatus.  These units are specifically engineered to function as a cohesive entity, effectively insulating the conductors from the earth or supporting structures.  Post insulators exhibit a diverse range of shapes and sizes, which are contingent upon the particular application and voltage prerequisites.  Crucial elements are present in order to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of electrical power networks within substations.
Final Thoughts:
Insulators play a crucial role in overhead lines, serving as essential components that guarantee the dependable and secure transmission of electrical power.  This comprehensive resource provides descriptions of numerous types of insulators that are designed to accommodate varying voltage levels, ambient circumstances, and mechanical specifications.  Various types of insulators, ranging from old pin and suspension insulators to contemporary composite insulators, possess distinct advantages and find usage in diverse contexts.
When undertaking the design of overhead lines, it is imperative to take into account many elements such as voltage levels, contamination levels, and mechanical loads in order to make an informed decision regarding the appropriate insulator type.  The continuous development of insulators, driven by breakthroughs in materials and manufacturing techniques, has resulted in improved efficiency and increased lifespan of power transmission networks on a global scale.  With the continuous advancement of technology, it is anticipated that there will be a proliferation of inventive insulator solutions in the future, which will further enhance the efficiency of overhead lines.  Ensure continuous power supply with expertly crafted Outdoor Insulators for your infrastructure supplied by Radiant Enterprises - one of the best Outdoor Insulator manufacturers in India!

Note: 5 of my OCs in chronological order of meeting C.J.S. after his 'being able to be himself' revelation over the course of a few months - the stoic bodyguard-in-training Esmeralda Petersburg, the disciplinarian Tess Dileva, the poetic Kirumi Silkenstar (introduced in later season), the spunky wannabe witch Karaina Caulton (introduced in later season) & the highly introverted loner Suki Ryushima - are derived from and inspired by existing OCs found on (y/n) x yandere quizzes on Quotev that I took a liking to thanks to the story/characters/detail/etc., like how much of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is inspired by Western songs. This includes their personalities. I took 5 such quizzes honestly answering the questions posed based on my personality and that of Clarkov Sahaidachny/Furutani, my first and main OC, which are very similar in most ways but very different in some areas. These 5 were the results. As for the dere sides, they start out full on and become more mentally sound as time goes on. That part is inspired by the development of Mizore Shirayuki in Rosario + Vampire. It's how I have to do almost everything in life. Start out with a base, then slowly build it into my own thing. It's a bit annoying, but I make do with what I have. I'll leave a link to the quizzes below.

Valkyr
God of Storms
Sibling to Dagon (god of seas)
It is said that Valkyr was born from the Primal Storm, before the material plane had settled on a form. The rain from that storm flooded the plane, and over time, settled into oceans, bringing Dagon into the world. This makes Valkyr the elder sibling to the god of the sea.
If you find yourself on an overseas voyage odds are, you'll find a shrine devoted to the Valkyr the god of storms.
A simple affair, perhaps a barrel that's been fixed down with intricate knotwork, or a decorated anchor, maybe even as small as a symbol, carved into the main mast for protection.
Valkyr worship is popular in fishing communities, shipping ports, and is the main religion among storm giants (I know) But the religion does not spread inland much.
During the third age, a great empire was built in Valkyr's name, Valkyria. During this time, the world was wild and old the storms furious and the waters teeming with giant monsters and unimaginable horrors. The Stormriders of Valkyria tamed the ocean in a grand crusade slaying their way though the ancient dangers of the ocean as far north as Icewind Dale, and raiding their way through coastal settlements
The Valkyrians amassed an enviable hoard of wealth eventually becoming the richest civilization of the 3rd age. But it was not their wealth that would become their downfall.
Their conquest of the seas, more specifically, the beastial blood they spilled awakened something. An avenger, perhaps the only of its kind. The Emerald Wyrm.
It rampaged down the sword coast, causing tsunamis and eating entire islands. The bottom of the ocean itself was eaten away. When Valkyr realized that the emerald Wyrm was coming for their empire, they sailed to meet it in battle. Only Valkyr returned. They commanded their people to flee, and watched as the great Valkyrian empire was devoured in one fell swoop.
Clerics of Valkyr honor the history of Valkyr worship. They support displaced people, refugees of any disaster. Many still take on the great hunt, to rid the world of the Emerald Elder as it is now called. Clerics of Valkyr are cool under pressure, and often pray for their gods mercy during times of strife.
Clerics that can touch Valkyr's divine weave can conjure storms or bolts of lightning. Clerics of Valkyr heal with nourishing rain and healing waters.
Most ships would want to have a worshipper of Valkyr aboard. Especially if they get into a fight.

How to Choose the Right Fixing Accessories for Your Project
Selecting the appropriate fixing accessories for a project is crucial to ensuring stability, durability, and safety. Whether you’re working on a light-duty installation or a heavy structural fix, the right choice of fixings based on materials, weight, and load type will make a significant difference in the outcome. Here’s a guide to help you choose the best fixing accessories for your project needs.
Consider the Material You’re Working With
One of the first considerations when selecting fixing accessories is the type of material you’re attaching to. Different materials require specific fixings to ensure a secure attachment without causing damage or loosening over time.
Wood: For wood projects, screws or nails are often ideal, but the type of wood and weight of the load will guide your choice. Softwoods generally pair well with standard wood screws, while hardwoods might require pre-drilling or specialised screws.
Masonry: For concrete, brick, or stone, you’ll need heavy-duty fixing accessories, such as wall plugs or anchor bolts, to penetrate the hard surface and ensure a secure hold. Masonry fixings like expansion anchors or sleeve anchors are particularly effective for heavy loads.
Plasterboard: Light-duty tasks on plasterboard may only need simple fixings like picture hooks, but for heavier items, you’ll need specialised fixings, such as toggle bolts or cavity fixings, to provide support without damaging the board.
Understanding the compatibility between fixings and materials will prevent mishaps and help achieve a more reliable result.
Factor in the Weight and Load Type
The weight of the item you’re fixing is another crucial consideration. Selecting fixing accessories that are rated for the specific weight of the object ensures that it stays securely in place.
Light Loads: For lighter items, such as picture frames or small shelves, basic wall plugs or standard screws may suffice. These are often available in packs with weight ratings, making it easy to select the right one.
Medium Loads: For slightly heavier loads like mirrors or medium-sized shelves, consider stronger fixing accessories, such as multi-purpose wall anchors or toggle bolts, which distribute the weight more evenly across the wall.
Heavy Loads: For heavy-duty installations, such as TVs, large cabinets, or structures that bear weight over time, ensure you’re using high-strength fixings. Anchor bolts, expansion anchors, or specialised masonry bolts are ideal for heavy loads, providing the necessary strength to hold objects securely.
Matching the fixing strength to the load is vital in preventing structural stress and ensuring long-lasting durability.
Choosing the Right Type of Fixing for the Job
The type of load — whether static, dynamic, or shear — will influence the best fixing accessories for your project.
Static Loads: For objects that stay fixed without moving, like shelving or cupboards, standard fixings such as screws, bolts, and wall plugs are often sufficient. These are designed to hold items securely against a wall without risk of movement.
Dynamic Loads: If the object will experience movement, such as a swing or pull-up bar, opt for heavy-duty anchors or spring toggles. These fixings offer extra stability and are resistant to shifting or loosening over time.
Shear Loads: Shear loads are forces that pull downwards, parallel to the mounting surface. Heavy-duty screws, rawl plugs, and masonry anchors are effective for shear loads, as they provide the necessary grip to prevent slipping or failure.
Opt for Quality Over Cost
While budget considerations are often necessary, skimping on fixing accessories may lead to compromised quality and stability. Higher-quality fixings are often made from stronger materials like stainless steel, which resist corrosion and provide better longevity. For outdoor projects or high-humidity areas, consider corrosion-resistant fixings to withstand the elements.
Look for Installation Support
Many brands offer installation guidance or product descriptions that specify the compatibility, weight capacity, and best materials for their fixings. Additionally, most home improvement stores have experienced staff who can guide you on the right fixing accessories for your project.
Conclusion
Selecting the right fixing accessories is essential to ensuring the safety, durability, and visual appeal of your project. By taking into account the material, load weight, type of load, and the quality of your chosen fixings, you can make well-informed decisions that lead to professional, reliable results.
