My garden rarely fails me. The daily gifts are simply amazing. As I enter, nothing else matters at that point in time. It's just me in the garden. Not alone I might add, my ancestors are with me. For all the moments they could not simply enjoy the garden I walk for them, I sow seeds for them, I embrace the beauty of nature for them. Harvesting afternoon of hibiscus. My family in El Salvador used to grow this plant on their farm. It's an incredible process to grow these plants from seed and now be able to harvest and collect the new generation of seeds. By experimenting and watching this plant, I learned that you have to separate the sepal (outer casing that holds the flower) from the nectar (seedpod) where the ovaries are. In the nectar you find the seeds and the sepal is what you get when you buy jamaica, so it's not actually the flower. Great curative properties and she is a gorgeous color.
