BIOGRAPHY.
DEATH TW
You came from humble beginnings, but you always dreamed of much more. Born in the heart of Harlem, you spent your childhood running around your parents' Bodega. Your days were spent helping your parents stack candy and other items on the shelves, but somehow, your eyes always ended up drawn to the newspapers in the corner. There was always something alluring about the stories written in fine print. The thought of being able to hold someone's fate in your hands, to craft history and deliver it to the masses, made you decide your life's path before you were able to fully comprehend what that career would entail.
You spent your formative years working towards your dream. You began by working on the yearbook team, then switched over to the school newspaper, and finally wound up becoming the team leader and editor of the newsletter. The blood, sweat, tears, and betrayals you endured along the way were worth the end result-- for you had proven you were able to dominate the field, even if it was just at a high school level. The result was the confirmation you needed to fully commit to your chosen career path--- heading off to college to study journalism in the hopes of securing a position with one of the elite newspapers.
Your hopes were answered in the form of an internship during your last year of college. You were able to shadow professional journalists and learn more about the fast-paced profession. The experience only made you more eager to get into the field, to prove your worth, but you knew you needed to be patient. After all, greatness isn't achieved in a day.
You somehow secured a spot in one of the local newspapers a few months after graduation, and this is where you've been since then. You entered the workplace expecting to quickly climb up the ranks, but you soon received a quick reality check. Everyone working alongside you had the same dreams and ambitions as you, and for once, your success didn't come easily. You found yourself unable to keep up with your peers, practically drowning in your deadlines, and it got to the point where your boss gave you an ultimatum--- prove yourself worthy of being here, or you'll get sent packing.
You, a desperate, eager little thing, sought an answer to your struggles. You knew if you had the right story, you'd be able to change their minds about you. If you had the right story, you'd be able to bring this city to its knees. But what kind of tale would enact such a visceral reaction?
The answer came in the form of an accident. You were never meant to be wandering the streets so late-- especially in the sketchier parts of town. You got lost on your way back from an assignment, but instead of finding the subway station, you witnessed a murder. You weren't able to catch the whole story, but you pieced together enough to fill in the blanks--- the murdered man had attempted to skip out on his debts, and the mob sent someone to punish him for his wrongdoings. Some may see the event as tragic, others may see it as well deserved, but you see it as something more--- the story you've been searching for. If you write a piece exposing the mobs and their actions, then the city may look at you like you're a hero and your workplace could do nothing but offer you the praise you desired for so long. It seemed like a perfect plan, but there was one issue. How does one bring down the entities who basically run this city?
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
Sources: A journalist is nothing without her sources. These people could be helping Kit on her quest to expose the mobs for a number of reasons. Maybe they're currently in the mobs and see this as a chance to potentially break away from that life. Maybe Kit has some blackmail info on them and is being forced to cooperate. No matter the reason, Kit will await the information with open arms.
Manipulation: When Kit's sources don't willingly bring her information, she's forced to find ways to get it herself. This connection would involve individuals either in the mob or associated with the mob. Kit would be either trying to befriend or potentially seduce these individuals into revealing evidence against the mobs. Will she find herself getting attached to the individual-- potentially feeling guilty about using them for information? Or will she have no remorse-- viewing the action as nothing more than a means to an end? We'll have to explore this and find out ;).
Interruptions: Kit isn't the type to beat around the bush when it comes to a story. This connection would essentially be an individual, or individuals, who heard about her mission to expose the mobs and is determined to derail her efforts. Maybe they send her threats to try and get her to back down. Maybe they give her false intel or leads. Anything to help draw her away from the city's underworld would work for this category.
I’ll probably add more ideas later but honestly down for anything :)

The timeless frock clearly still resonates. In fact, Carrie could still wear it in the The Long Goodbye Final Tour Eagles 52nd Anniversary 1971 2023 Memories Signatures Shirt Apart from…,I will love this forthcoming season of And Just Like That, and look perfectly modern. It goes to show that you should always consider keeping things in your closet—it could still be a fan favorite after 23 years. With the arrival of summer comes the beginning of wedding season, however this year traditional bridal trends aren’t only reserved for walking down the aisle. Wedding worthy ivory gowns have been a regular feature on the red carpet this year and now Sienna Miller is the latest to embrace this bridal mood, wearing a contemporary twist on a classic veil. Last night at an event to raise awareness for Youth Mental Health in New York City, the Anatomy of a Scandal actor wore a look that is likely to provide inspiration for fashion forward brides or those looking for a modern twist on wedding traditions. The actor wore a cream sleeveless maxi dress from Erdem’s spring 2023 collection which is covered with delicate green botanical embroidery and features an in built ethereal white tulle train, which cascades from the shoulders. Sienna topped it all off with a pair of white barely there sandals (another nod to the bridal theme), while her crimson lip added a pop of color to the outfit. Erdem’s spring 2023 collection paid homage to the late Queen Elizabeth II and drew inspiration from the court dressing of the 17th and 18th centuries. The collection featured a line up of exquisite dresses adorned with tulle detailing, including veils, trains and opera gloves. Sienna’s dress (look 29) effortlessly merges contemporary style with Erdem’s historical and bridal influences.
Bridal fashion has gained popularity on the The Long Goodbye Final Tour Eagles 52nd Anniversary 1971 2023 Memories Signatures Shirt Apart from…,I will love this red carpet recently, exemplified by Kiera Knightley’s recent portrayal of a Chanel bride for the “Tweed de Chanel” high jewelry collection launch at the British Museum. Kiera and Sienna show that frothy, bridal inspired looks don’t need to be reserved for your wedding day. All products featured on Vogue are independently selected by our editors. However, we may earn affiliate revenue on this article and commission when you buy something. Jennifer Lawrence is continuing on with her red carpet fashion wins. Today, the actor attended the No Hard Feelings photocall in Madrid, Spain alongside co star Andrew Feldman. Continuing her slew of sleek, pared back looks that she’s worn for the film’s press tour thus far, Lawrence appeared in a crisp white Alaïa shirtdress punctuated with a thick leather belt cinching the waist. Minimalist chic, yes, though the swishy mini skirt added a dash of fun to the look, too. Equally as fun were the shoes, which take a style cue from Barbie. Hear me out! Barbie obviously loves a stiletto, but there’s no shoe more Barbie than a heeled mule sandal. They even make a cameo in the trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, the highly anticipated film starring Margot Robbie, in fuzzy pink. Lawrence’s discreet black style may be more understated than the bubblegum styles that Barbie wears, sure—but the silhouette is practically made for permanently arched feet. They’re the Jadarona style by Manolo Blahnik, and retail for $785. They can be dressed up, like Lawrence did, or down with jeans and a button up. If you’re really feeling Barbiecore for summer, they even come in pink, too.

Gabriel As Your Garudian Angel
~ first of all its the first and almost only thing he has ever tooken seriously
~when he found out he didn't really care. Michael and Lucifer were desened to inhabit the Winchesters bodies and he got the boring job of being Bobby Singer's Nieces.
~when he first met you he immediately took the roll. He Loved your personality and stuck around.
~you were a kid when you first met so you just thought he was an imaginary friend.
~he hung around in your toddler years but slowly stopped showing up when you befriend Sam and dean
~he felt like you didn't need him anymore so he protected you from a far
~after awhile you forget the angel and figured the boy with golden wings was an imaginary friend.
~you didn't have encounter intill years. You were an adult and a hunter.
~your first case involving him he was just know as the trickster. He left you untouched but screwed with Sam and Dean.
~that pattern continued when with the mystery spot Fiasco. Gabe knew how much you cared for Dean so he didn't put you in the time loop with Sam.
~that same time period he didn't bring Dean back till you asked.
~during his TV land joke he purposely put you and the boys in shows you liked. Like Dr. Sex MD was based off Greys anatomy(a show you liked)
~after that you confronted him while he was in the holy fire.
~ “I'm always left untoched during your practical jokes, why is that?”
~“you don't remember me? I'm hurt Sugar”
~for some reason you showed murcy on him and convinced the boys to let him go.
~“I always thought you were my imaginary friend”
~“I stopped hanging around because you had the boys... I guess I thought you didn't need me anymore so I protected you from a far”
~after that he wouldn't leave you alone. It annoyed the hell out of the boys but you brushed it off.
~he'd always wake you up with his favorite song heat of the moment. Or he'd wake you up like an alarm that was set on radio mode.
~“Gooooodd Morning miss. Y/n Singer. It's a beautiful day in Lawrence Kansas. The weather is gonna be sunny and dry. But better get ready because the forecast predicts a pesky Windego on the loose. I'm your host Gabriel the Trickster”
~you guys grew close and your friendship kinda turned romantic to both of your fright.
~guardian angels aren't supposed to fall in love with their person. It was just the rules.
~then again when did gabe ever follow the rules.
~after yours and Dean's failed atempt to a relationship gabe flew in.
~it started off casual. You slept together once or twice but Never confermed anything.
~not wanting that in a relationship you told him how you felt.
~“everyday I'd wake up to your stupid music and your stupid voice. I feel in love deeper and deeper with you”
~you kept it on the down low afraid of how the boys would react. But after one of his tricks it came out, but it also caused Sam to break his arm.
~that was the biggest flaw in your relationship. His ability to not care that he screws with your Family.
~“I'm tired of you hurting them all the time. We're a team. If you hurt them, you hurt me...some guardian angel you are”
~that hurt the both of you but it proved you two were ment to stay friends. It also made you realize the whole relationship was something you guys wanted to do because it was going against the rules.
~he reminded faithful to his Job and his friendship to you. He even helped you fix your relationship with Dean(which is who you belong with).
~the first time you watched him died hurt worse than any wound you got on the job. He lied there lifeless after saving you from Lucifer.
~the boys didn't know how to comfort you. It felt like part of you was missing.
~after you found out Asmodeus had captured and torchored gabe you were beyond furious.
~gabe was beyond scared when he was in the bunker but he trusted you. It was your turn to protect him.
~you where the one to convince him to take his grace and heal himself.
~“I need you gabe, I can't lose you again”
~ he stayed around again and even helped you look after Jack who you took under your wing. He took the role of an uncle oddly seriously.
~then came your time in purgatory. You were determined to get jack back and gabe wasn't gonna let you go alone. Even if you had your boyfriend Dean. And by the laws of heaven he had no choice.
~that wasn't his mind set. You were and always be his best friend. There ain't no him with out you.
~he never left your side during your time in purgatory. It angered Dean but gabe could care less. It was unnatural for him because you'd think he'd take it to his advantage but he didn't.
~during that time Lucifer teased the both of you. It infuriated gabe and he did his best to keep distance between the both of you.
~“lay one hand on her it'll be the last thing you ever do”
~during the cold nights you lied awake next to gabe wrapped in his leather jacket.
~when it was time for you to leave gabe didn't make it back. And he was gone for real this time.
~it took all Sam's power to pull you back as you screamed and cried his name.
~while everyone celebrated there return home you stayed in your room in the bunker crying in his leather jacket he left with you.
~the pockets of the jacket were filled with candy wrappers(you never took them out).
~What hurt the worst was there was a gold feather in the pocket as well. His feather.
~you wore it on a necklace and psychologically it made you feel safer.
~after he died your post hunt injuries hurt worse and they were more often. That proved gabe did his job well.
~Dean didn't know how to help you. He comforted you when you cried but Castile was the only one that willingly talked to you about it.
~“he really did care about you... In fact him being your guardian angel was the only thing he ever took seriously.”
~Cas later tried to take the job because he thought gabe would want that but her couldn't.
~you only get one gaurdian angel and gabe was the best and only one.

Printing a Brain Aneurysm in a Dish
Image: an induced blood clot (red balloon) is visible in a 3-D-printed model of a brain aneurysm. Credit: Elisa Wasson Lawrence Livermore Laboratory
Brain aneurysms, which affect as many as one in 50 people, occur when a blood vessel wall weakens and bulges, setting the scene for a potentially deadly rupture. Now scientists have created a 3-D-printed aneurysm model in the laboratory and “operated” on it: they inserted a device to seal it off and prevent it from bursting. Such models could be tailored to replicate an individual patient's blood vessel, letting doctors try different treatments and find the best solution.
To treat an aneurysm, brain surgeons sometimes operate to install a metal clip on the ballooning vessel that prevents the pooling of blood. A less invasive method involves inserting tiny metal coils into the aneurysm via a catheter to induce a blood clot that seals it off. Most treatment devices are tested in animals, whose blood vessels do not perfectly resemble those in humans. And previous lab-dish aneurysms could not mimic the properties of living blood vessels. “We thought maybe there could be a better way of testing those [treatment] devices,” says Lindy Jang, a biomedical engineering graduate student at Texas A&M University, who led the new study, published in Biofabrication.
Jang and her colleagues 3-D-printed an aneurysm structure with a water-based gel and populated it with human cells that line the brain's blood vessels. They then operated on the aneurysm, injecting platinum coils into the bulging vessel. Finally, they filled the blood vessel with plasma (the liquid component of blood), which formed a clot that sealed off the bulge.
“We're trying to streamline the treatment of aneurysms and take the guesswork out,” says William “Rick” Hynes, a study co-author and biofabrication research engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory who performed the surgery. “The goal is to use these devices to validate models so someone could take a 3-D scan, recreate it in the simulation, then try adding [blood] flow and determine if they need to treat the aneurysm or leave it alone.”
“I think it's really significant,” Matthew Gounis, a biomedical engineer at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, says of the new model. Other groups have developed aneurysm models, but this one is exciting because it better replicates a human blood vessel by adding living cells, says Gounis, who was not involved in the new study. Surgeons could practice on such models before operating on a real patient, he says: “If you have a particularly challenging case, you can print out the case, and you can basically practice before you get to the patient, in their anatomy.”

Life-sketch
Throughout his life Michael wore many hats. Brother, son, physician, husband, friend, and “Grandpa.”
Born in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Ironton, Ohio, Michael grew up on a multigenerational farm- enjoying what are now the simple pleasures of life but were previously essential skills for survival. Years of stories from my father have engrained in me the resilience of our ancestors. They were humble, unpretentious people who worked hard and shared generously -and Michael embodied this spirit.
During his childhood Michael, or “Mike Crowe” as he was affectionately called during this time spent his days exploring his grandparents farm with his older brother and cousin Phyllis; riding the plow horses, swimming in the creek, and helping in the garden. Always with a dog by his side. Insatiably curious he would also hide away for hours with his nose in a book. His love of learning was intense and innate.
Like all of us Michael was a product of generational traditions and culture but he also aspired to see more of the world. When he told stories of his childhood, I often thought of him as a puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit. So much of himself etched in the landscape of his home while other parts were stark juxtapositions.
The first in his family to graduate with a college degree Michael possessed a hunger for knowledge that led him outside the boundaries of Lawrence County and into the world of academics. First attending Ohio University and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Michael then continued on to obtain a master’s degree in Biological Science from Marshall University.
It was this degree that landed him in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, teaching anatomy to medical students at Southeastern College of Osteopathic medicine. My father was an excellent teacher and I can only imagine that he thrived in this position. As a child I never felt shamed for asking him questions and it seemed as if he had endless patience. Having a toddler myself I now appreciate exactly how patient and tender he was. I imagine the reason why a mentor convinced Michael to enroll as a medical student himself was because they saw so much potential in him.
The same year Michael made the decision to enroll in medical school he was married, and throughout the four years required of medical students, he became a father of two. First to my older brother James, and then to me. It was during this time he also found truth and peace within the beliefs of the Adventist Church.
After completing a family medicine residency in Selma, Alabama Michael moved his family to Avon Park, Florida and began his career as an emergency medicine physician. As a doctor Michael was alarmingly calm and possessed a grounding presence. He was passionate about serving his patients- a quality that allowed him to make a smooth transition to family medicine when he opened up a practice ten years later. It was in this role that Michael was able to care for his patients in a more personal way, often making house calls and being known for remembering names and impressive details about their lives. He was incredibly intentional in not only the way he practiced medicine but in how he treated all those who were entrusted into his care.
A practical man, Michael was not one to get caught up in the injustices of this world. Growing up if something didn’t quite pan out the way it was supposed to, anything from a flat tire to a glitch in a family vacation my father would turn us and say, “It’s all part of the adventure!”
There was never a question as to whether the incident could be overcome or feeling that everything was ruined. As a child this confidence eased my anxiety and as an adult I see how it informed Michael’s ability to confront life and the hardships it inevitably brings.
Michael married Annette Pickett Crowe on August 15th, 2010. After closing his family practice in Florida, they moved to Collegedale, Tennessee. Michael felt immensely blessed to have found love again with Annette and they settled into life together, enjoying spending time together and traveling. Over time Annette’s children became his children and her grandchildren became his grandchildren. In Annette and her family, Michael found a home.
Throughout his career Michael made one last transition to work as a physician for Life Care Centers of America, eventually becoming medical director in both Collegedale and Ooltewah buildings. In this role his leadership was especially impactful and he thrived as a geriatric specialist and also as a mentor to those who worked under his direction. This was recognized by LifeCare when they awarded Michael Doctor of the Year in 2013.
“Grandpa,” as he was lovingly called by his six grandchildren, was perhaps his favorite role. Michael loved nothing more than spending time with his five granddaughters and one grandson (with one more on the way!). There was something magical about watching him come alive with each of them. Michael love nothing more than being outside with them talking to them about gardening and telling stories of growing up in the country. Being mostly a “girl” grandpa Michael also was endlessly longsuffering about getting his hair brushed, make-up done, and playing with dolls and horses.
On Monday, December 13th at 12:43 dad text me two photos of my daughter Luz. They were photos he had taken a week prior. We gushed over her like fathers and daughters do. I asked him if he was free to watch her Thursday morning so I could get some things done. He told me, “[he] would be happy to.” Several hours later he was gone.
My father was my first hero. Always prepared. Tender hearted. Generous. While this doesn’t feel like, “part of the adventure,” I rest in the confidence that Michael left a legacy through his family, relationships, the service to his patients, and the light of Christ he spread in each of these roles.

You're studying archeology and have to take a quiz about a movie? I don't want to sound rude or anything but I honestly think that's kinda weird. At my university we have barely any quizzes and if so it's about hard facts. For most grades we just have to write papers or do practical stuff...
Okay, I‘m going to try politely to explain why I take an issue with your statement.
The first thing is that while I am studying archeology, this is not an archaeology class. The class title is Europe and the World, and this is the course description:
The course covers the over 500-year history of European territorial expansion and political domination over the Mediterranean and Atlantic world. Materials address the cultural ideas that supported the emergence of modern Empires. One of the objectives of the course is to develop students’ knowledge of the idea of Empire and the role of European imperial conquests in shaping the modern world in the period from the 15th century to the 21stcentury.
Within that context, the film in question (Lawrence of Arabia) is a fantastic source for understanding British imperialism in the Arabian Peninsula both at the beginning of the 20th century (when it is set), and in the early 1960s (when it was filmed). I would encourage you to read A Lament for Imperial Adventure: Lawrence of Arabia in a Post-Colonial World for a better understanding of how and why the film is important.
Second, I think that you’re not giving archaeology its due credit. Archaeology is a subset of anthropology, and is thus a study of people. Consuming media created by people during a certain time period is an excellent way to try and understand how their worldview shaped their thoughts and actions. Just because a movie hasn’t been published in a peer reviewed journal doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have any scholarly value.
If you want hard facts I can talk to you about phytoliths or starch residue or mass spectrometry or the different kinds of soils or classifications of ceramics or skeletal anatomy.
If you want papers, I’ve written some on how Auschwitz reflects Nazi politics based on its position on the landscape, on how Auschwitz’s museum reflects the current politics of memory, on social stratification on the site of a 1900s resort in California, and how ecotourism is an enduring product of romanticism.
The beautiful thing about archaeology is that it combines hard facts with human nature to tell the story of people in the past. I see a lot of people in the “hard sciences” dismissing those in the “soft sciences” because sometimes we don’t deal hard data or “practical stuff.” Just because that’s the way that it appears at face value doesn’t make that true. Next time you see someone talking about watching a movie (or something similar) for a class, I would encourage you to ask what subject they’re studying, and why that piece of media might be important.
I really don’t mean to offend. What I would like to do is widen your scope of understanding for what archaeology and anthropology are, and how they can find important insights from all sorts of different sources.
-Reid

💃 🔬 🌍 ⌛️ for lyra?
thank you so much legend!! time management answered here xx
💃 — dancing
exceptional. she trained in classical dance and ballet as a girl — nothing overly serious, only semi-formally. she didn’t keep it up; obviously she would have left off when she ran away regardless, but as things grew more competitive, it would have been unlikely for her to pursue it in any real capacity into her late teen years.
still, she loves to dance, whether with a partner or by herself barefoot on bartops or in her main hall with the windows thrown open and a cigarette in her hand, and she’s retained her grace and agility ( both of which serve her well in combat, as well ).
🔬 — scientific pursuits
absolutely no experience at all, officially speaking. off the record, of course, it’s arguably another matter entirely; her knowledge of human anatomy and biology, specifically, is highly specific, purely for practical purposes, and fairly horrifying in its implications for those who have cause to know of her brand of pursuits.
from this ask: she knows how much to dose someone of a toxic substance to kill them and how long it will take them to die; she knows how much arsenic a person can ingest and make contact with and where and how it naturally occurs; she knows where nerves are bundled; she knows what can be removed or rearranged without fatality; she knows where to cut; she knows where to bleed; she knows how to kill, and she knows how to prolong life.
🌍 — knowledge of the world
extensive in many respects, sorely lacking in others. she is well-travelled, and her wealth of experience serves her well; she learned early on how to read other humans, how to understand them, gauge them, assess them. she understands how the world works and why; arguably she knows too much, knew it too soon, and her disillusion and hatred took root early because of it. she lived on her own and on the road since she was fifteen. she knew things no sixteen year old girl should, but she also never learned things she otherwise might have.
she is well-read, and her education was more rigorous and expansive than most — she was shipped off to the very best schools, never the same twice, sometimes up to three a season, depending on how successful her campaigns for expulsion were and how absent lawrence was — but it was also cut short; she never completed high school.
she is relatively naïve in some matters, such as love or relationships, contrary to all appearances; she is extremely experienced in theory, but never having been in love or believed a true relationship, true intimacy, and to be seen and known completely by another person was an impossibility to her, it’s something relatively foreign to her despite her observances.
ultimately it’s her romanticism and idealism that makes her so bitterly angry at the ugliness in the world.
