Thai Massage
Thai massage is a traditional healing art that combines acupressure, reflexology, stretching, and assisted yoga postures. It focuses on releasing blockages in the body's energy system (called the meridian) and promoting circulation. In addition to being relaxing, it helps improve flexibility, range of motion, and muscle tone.
2. Reflexology
Reflexology is based on stimulating pressure points along the feet and hands to promote relaxation and balance. These points correspond to various organs throughout the body. Practitioners claim that they can help relieve pain, reduce stress, and treat many ailments.
3. Yoga
Yoga is a mind-body practice that originated in ancient India. It includes physical poses (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, and concentration. There are hundreds of different types of yoga, each with its own focus and purpose.
4. Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a type of alternative medicine that involves inserting fine needles into specific parts of the body. It dates back over 5,000 years and was developed in China. Modern research suggests that acupuncture may stimulate endorphins and enkephalins, chemicals in the brain that produce feelings of well-being.
5. Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine uses herbs instead of pharmaceutical drugs to cure disease. Many herbal medicines have been used for thousands of years. Today, scientists continue to study medicinal herbs and develop new medications from them.
6. Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the use of scented oils in aromatherapy massages. Essential oils are extracted from flowers, trees, fruits, roots, stems, bark, seeds, resins, and herbs. They are steam distilled to remove any toxins and then bottled. Oils are added to bath water, rubbed onto the skin, inhaled, or ingested.
7. Meditation
Meditation is a mental exercise that promotes peace of mind and relaxation. It is often practiced alone or with others. People meditate to clear their minds and achieve inner tranquility.

Find A Song inspired by the singer's intense desire to communicate with his autistic son
Alpha Mortal Foxtrot - Spectrum
While the pounding drums, sharp riffs and expansive solos that have become hallmarks of previous Alpha Mortal Foxtrot recordings are still present, there is a deeper tenderness that lies at the heart of “Spectrum”: the song was inspired Wiku’s intense desire to communicate with his son, Anantara, who is autistic. “He only started speaking when he was five years old, so this song was my promise to him that even if he couldn’t speak, I would try to learn his language,” says Wiku. “He’s not late, he’s just in his own time and space.”
Thankfully, Anantara eventually learned to speak, and you can even credit him with reigniting Wiku’s passion for music 11 years after he had quit and sold all his gear. “I never touched my guitars until he picked up my dusty acoustic and asked me to play a song. I almost burst into tears as I couldn’t strum a single chord,” says Wiku. “I had to relearn everything as I was determined to be Anantara’s first music teacher.” To further emphasize their support for autism awareness, Alpha Mortal Foxtrot have collaborated with Kreaby, the creative studio that empowers autistic artists, to create the music video for “Spectrum”. By partnering with Kreaby and its artists, Alpha Mortal Foxtrot are providing a platform for the autistic community to express their minds and world views, while also helping to raise society’s awareness towards the different abilities of autistic people and embracing them. “On a personal note, this song is a reminder that I owe a huge debt to my son for helping me find my way back to playing music, reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones through Alpha Mortal Foxtrot. So, autism awareness will always be a theme in our music,” says Wiku. “Hopefully ‘Spectrum’ will be the starting point of bigger things to come, particularly in collaborating with those who are passionate about neurodiversity.”

Day 8 - Siem Reap
This was supposed to be a mellow day.  We started out with the Anantara breakfast buffet.  While at breakfast, the Anantara Angkor social media representative stopped by our table and introduced himself.  He also gave us recommendations for things to do and places to eat.  One of the places he recommended was APOPO.
The APOPO Visitor Center in Siem Reap is an information center highlighting the recent history of conflict in Cambodia, the impact of landmines on local communities, and it gives the opportunity to meet and see the HeroRATs in action...  Yes, rats.  They use well trained rats (trained to the cost of 6000 euros each) to find landmines.  These are big rats, but they don't weigh enough to set off landmines. It was actually very interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After APOPO, we went to the Angkor National Museum.  As far as museums go, this one is very nice.  The layout is well organized with a defined path of which way to go through the museum.  The combination of ancient artifacts displayed with current technology worked well together.  The optional audio tour added a very nice touch.
We decided to have an early dinner after the museum.  We got a Tuk Tuk outside the museum and had the driver take us to Jungle Burger.  I normally never eat burgers while traveling because there is so much other stuff to eat.  But this place was recommended by Anantara social media guy, so we went. It was great. Gourmet burger, fries or potato wedges, and a beer (I don't drink beer so I opted for something else) for around $7.00. I had the Mushroom and Creamy Black Pepper Sauce Burger. kumi had the Blue Cheese and Bacon Burger. BTW, the Bob Marley Burger is no longer on the menu.
Our Tuk Tuk driver was waiting for us when we were done. We had him take us back to Anantara just in time to get my complimentary happy hour drink.

Last night for @ministryofcrab five-course dinner pop-up. • First course was a shared crab liver pâté which needed a touch of citrus to complement it. It should also have had proper melba toast instead of the dry hard crackers it came with. • Second course was baked crab. The presentation was sad and the flavors could have been improved with creaminess and some texture. • Third course was river prawns in garlic butter. This dish was quite good and the soy garlic butter that came with it was perfect for dipping good bread in, unfortunately not the white bread chunks that came with it. (I skipped this course and was given two pieces of seared fish on a white plate instead as I’m allergic to river prawns. The fish was cooked well but it was literally just two pieces of fish with absolutely no garnish or side to make it worthy of a mid-course) • Finally, the last was what we had come for. A large Sri-lankan crab in black pepper sauce to share. Sweet chunks of crabmeat filled the shell. This would have been a stunner had the sauce not seemed like it was pre-cooked, reheated and just added on at the last minute. • Finally, the coconut crème brûlée baked in an actual coconut was a good dessert to end with after the peppery crab. • #TravelswithaGourmet #TWAGDubai #ministryofcrabpopup #keepcalmandcrabon (at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort) https://www.instagram.com/p/CV_TmPmv8He/?utm_medium=tumblr

New Year, New Hotels: 60 Exciting Hotel Openings Around The World This Winter
The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club opens in January.
The hospitality industry has been through its ups and downs this year, but that’s not stopping dozens of new hotels and resorts that are preparing to open this winter.
Despite uneven demand and the added expense of Covid-19 preparedness protocols, hoteliers are stepping up to the challenge. Domestic openings are plentiful, but international properties are sprouting up just as quickly as travel bubbles (and corridors between countries) become the talk of potential recovery. Island and resort destinations, in particular, are seeing growth, especially in parts of Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean, and parts of the U.S.
Opening their doors in preparation for a brighter 2021 ahead, these are some of the newest December, January, and February hotel and resort openings around the world.
