oh definitely I had a whole other story planned

originally Alice's reoccurring dream would lead her to actually get trapped in this labyrinth below her house that had no exits and she was gonna wander around a bit before encountering the rest of the girls, who had fallen in from their own places before Alice did and their bodies had become warped from exposure to being down there, so they had like extra body parts or lack of other body parts and there was a creature down there that was hunting them bc it wanted to use their soul energy to escape and wreak havoc on the living world but then I decided to go another direction with it so I could actually flesh out the characters more

somethin we put a lot of care into, especially when drawing character interactions, is instead of depicting characters in poses, rather trying to capture a moment in time, and it's somethin we've noticed makes all the difference. the way poses interact, the expressions characters make, those fleeting moments like a candid photo give a lotta life to these kinds of things and it means so much to hear when we've pulled that off ;; thank you so much!!!

Hello! I’m glad the cat couldn’t enjoy this beetle as a snack. They are a lined June beetle in the genus Polyphylla, and probably specifically a long-haired June beetle, Polyphylla crinita :)
