In yet another installment of 'why always with the baby talk?', I am forced to confront the British insistence on referring to closure snaps as 'poppers.'
#I get that 'snaps' is not much better#but 'poppers' is already taken & inexplicably to me this is actually the same word the UK uses for amyl nitrate#it also bears no relation to the sound the closure makes#so I'm voting against it#I just want to buy some pearl snaps for fuck's sake#the purchasing options are infuriating enough without compounding the problem by using a dumb name#my life would be much better if someone else did all my shopping for me#it's the#1 source of displeasure in my life#an anthropological aside: why is the UK so hip on plastic snaps?#in addition to being gross they also seem very easy to break
