A style selection, 1956-1969.
A continuation of sorts from this post.
“[George’s] idea, which he ordered [in Liverpool in the 1950s], was a four-button jacket with cloth-covered buttons. Two breast pockets which were slitted (jetted) and in the shape of a bird in flight, the two side pockets corresponded. The cuffs had to be folded back with a cloth-covered button. His trousers had no pleats in the front, not normal in those days, and he was by far the very first person to have two slits at the bottom side seam of the trouser and he wanted them folded back with cloth covered buttons to match the cuffs on his jacket. The workshop queried the order when they received thinking we had gone bonkers. George got his suit and was pleased with the outcome. Later lots of guys were walking about town with cut back cuffs and side seams on their trousers, but George was the first.” - Rollo Torpey, The Beatles and Me (2015)
“At Iris’s 14th birthday party, I remember George turned up in a brand-new, Italian-style stuff with covered buttons. He looked very grown-up.” - Violet Caldwell (mother of Iris, and Alan, a.k.a. Rory Storm), The Beatles Monthly September 1965
“[George’s mother Louise] took an unusually benign view of George’s luminous pink shirts, yellow waistcoat, and drainpipe trousers.” - Pete Shotton, The Beatles, Lennon, And Me (1984)
“Going in for flash clothes, or at least trying to be a bit different, as I hadn’t any money, was part of the rebelling. I never cared for authority. They can’t teach you experience; you’ve got to go through it, by trial and error.” - George Harrison, The Beatles: The Authorized Biography (1968)
“At the Institute, George was known from the beginning as a way-out dresser. Michael McCartney, Paul’s brother, was a year below him. He remembers George always having long hair — years before anybody else did. […] ‘George used to go to school with his school cap sitting high on top of his hair,‘ says Mrs. Harrison. ‘And very tight trousers. Unknown to me, he’d run them up on my machine to make them even tighter. I bought him a brand-new pair once and the first thing he did was tighten them. When his dad found out, he told him to unpick them at once. “I can’t, Dad,” he said. “I’ve cut the pieces off.”’” - The Beatles: The Authorized Biography (1968)
“I’d started to develop my own version of the school uniform. I had some cast-offs from my brother. One was a dog-toothed check-patterned sports coat, which I’d dyed black to use as my school blazer. The color hadn’t quite taken, so it still had a slight check design to it. I had a shirt I’d bought in Lime Street, that I thought was so cool. It was white with pleats down the front. and it had embroidery along the corners of the pleats. I had a waistcoat that John had given me, which he’d got from his ‘uncle’ Dykins (his mother’s boyfriend), Mr. Twitchy Dykins. It was like an evening-suit waistcoat — black, double-breasted, with lapels. The trousers John also gave me, soon after we first met — powder-blue drainpipes with turn-ups. I dyed them black as well. And I had black suede shoes from my brother. […] That outfit of mine was very risky, and it felt like all day, every day, for the last couple of years I was going to get busted. In those days we used Vaseline on our hair to get the rock n’ roll greased-back hairstyle. Also, you were supposed to wear a cap and a tie, and a badge on your blazer. I didn’t have my badge stitched on, I had it loose. It was held in place by a pen clipped over it in my top pocket, so I could remove it easily, and the tie.” - George Harrison, The Beatles Anthology (2000)
“He was always a pretty snappy dresser, and he did always like that waistcoat look. And he used to wear a V-neck Fair Isle jumper. Sometimes he’d be a little too outrageous, like purple trousers with bright green, but it was fine. Everything seemed to be fine then.” - Pattie Boyd, interview for the British Beatles Fan Club
“The boys are wearing all sorts of fantastic clothes for their film and introduce a very new, unusual gimmick. If they’re wearing corduroy, for example, then they have corduroy boots to match. If they’re seen in velveteen suits, then they’re coupled with velveteen boots. George first thought of the idea two years ago, but when he put the idea to a local bootmaker, he told him it couldn’t be done. Well, that’s one cobbler that’s been proved wrong.” - The Beatles Monthly, June 1965 (x)

1868 – Norman Douglas, born (d.1952); Austrian-born British writer, now best known for his 1917 novel South Wind. Douglas was one of the liveliest, wittiest and most original writers of his generation. His novel, South Wind (1917) exerted a strong influence on almost every modern writer who came out of the 1920s.
Douglas had discovered the joys of Capri in 1888 when he journeyed there in pursuit of a rare species of blue lizard. What he discovered there was something else altogether - a gay paradise. He fell in love with the island and decided to make it his "soul's operating base."
South Wind, in part, recounts the story of how he made up his mind to leave his wife and settle in Capri to enjoy the Gay life, openly and without shame. The setting of the novel is an island, like Capri, called Nepenthe, inhabited by an extraordinary group of eccentrics who, seen through the eyes of an English bishop, represent the contrast between the cultures of Northern and Southern Europe. In this satiric novel, English hypocrisy gets it between the eyes.
Douglas died, broke on Capri, but not before he had compiled an anthology of graffiti collected in several languages from the walls of public toilets throughout Europe. Roger Williams' Lunch With Elizabeth David (1999) is a novel about Douglas's relationship with Eric Walton, the boy he took to Calabria.

1950 – Franklin Abbott is a psychotherapist, writer, poet, artist, and gay activist, born on this date in Birmingham, Alabama. Abbott earned an undergraduate degree at Mercer University and his Master of Social Work at the University of Georgia.
Franklin Abbot was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He grew up in Birmingham, Buffalo, and Nashville. As a kid, Franklin marched to the beat of his own drummer, which wasn’t always well received his buttoned-down family. But in high school, he found an outlet for at least some of his creative energy in a youth service group called the Order of DeMolay.
Coming out as gay during college, Franklin was simultaneously drawn towards the women’s and black liberation movements. The writings of Adrienne Rich and Audre Lorde opened his eyes to feminism as a force of liberation for both women and men. Franklin would ultimately publish three anthologies on men and gender: New Men, New Minds (1987), Men and Intimacy (1989), and Boyhood: Growing Up Male (1991).
After college, Franklin worked at a facility for mentally challenged adults and children, and plunged deeper into social activism. He also got his master’s degree in social work, and in 1979, he became one of Atlanta’s first openly gay professionals when he opened a private psychotherapy practice.
Also during the 1970s, Franklin’s life took an important turn when he connected with America’s radical faerie community. The radical faeries are a loose, global organization of mostly-male queer people who resist assimilation into mainstream society, focusing instead on alternate spirituality, environmentalism, and anarchism. He served as poetry editor for the radical faeries’ unofficial journal RFD, worked with the journal Changing Men, and also published two volumes of his own poetry, Mortal Love: Selected Poems, 1971-1998 and Pink Zinnia. In 2008, he founded Atlanta Queer Literary Festival, and in 2017, he released an CD of original songs and poetry, Don’t Go Back to Sleep.

1950 – Dan Hartman (d.1994) was an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer, best known for such songs as: "Free Ride", "I Can Dream About You", "Instant Replay", "Love Sensation", and "Relight My Fire", all of which had world-wide success.
Born in Pennsylvania's capital, Harrisburg, Hartman joined his first band at the age of 13, The Legends. His brother Dave was also a member of the band. He played keyboards and wrote much of the band's music, but despite the release of a number of recordings, none turned out to be hits. He subsequently spent a period of time backing the Johnny Winter Band and then joined the Edgar Winter Group where he played bass on three of their albums and wrote the band's second biggest pop hit "Free Ride" in 1972. Upon launching a solo career in 1976, he released a promotional album which had, as its full title, Who Is Dan Hartman and Why Is Everyone Saying Wonderful Things About Him?. It was a compilation disc including songs from Johnny Winter and the Edgar Winter Group.
In late 1978, Hartman reached #1 on the Dance Charts with the disco single, "Instant Replay." This was followed by his second chart topper, 1979's "Relight My Fire," which featured friend Loleatta Holloway on vocals. This song later became the theme for the NBC talk show Tomorrow. During the next decade he worked as a songwriter and producer, and collaborated with such artists as Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Tyler, Paul Young, Holly Johnson, and James Brown.
Hartman died in 1994 at his Westport, Connecticut home of an AIDS-related brain tumor. Dan never married and had no children. He kept his HIV status a secret, even after Holly Johnson announced his own HIV status in 1991. Although it is unclear if Dan was ever publicly out about his sexuality during his lifetime, his website features tributes from many friends and colleagues who were aware that he was gay. Several of them mention how Hartman never seemed completely comfortable with his homosexuality, although he was much more open about it with those who shared his orientation.

1966 – Sinéad O'Connor is an Irish singer-songwriter. She rose to fame in the late 1980s with her debut album The Lion and the Cobra and achieved worldwide success in 1990 with a cover of the song "Nothing Compares 2 U".
Since then, while maintaining her singing career, she has occasionally encountered controversy, partly due to her emotional statements and gestures such as her ordination as a priest despite being female with a Roman Catholic background, and her expressed strong views on organized religion, women's rights, war, and child abuse.
In addition to her solo albums, her work includes a number of collaborations with other artists, and appearances at charity fundraising concerts.
In a 2000 interview in Curve, O'Connor outed herself as a lesbian, "I'm a dyke ... although I haven't been very open about that and throughout most of my life I've gone out with blokes because I haven't necessarily been terribly comfortable about being a big lesbian mule. But I actually am a dyke." However, soon after in an interview in The Independent, she stated, "I believe it was overcompensating of me to declare myself a lesbian. It was not a publicity stunt. I was trying to make someone else feel better. And have subsequently caused pain for myself. I am not in a box of any description." In a magazine article and in a programme on RTÉ (Ryan Confidential, broadcast on RTÉ on 29 May 2003), she stated that while most of her sexual relationships had been with men, she has had three relationships with women. In a May 2005 issue of Entertainment Weekly, she stated, "I'm three-quarters heterosexual, a quarter gay. I lean a bit more towards the hairy blokes".

1980 – John Lennon, English musician and peace activist murdered (b. 1940); There are stories of an early intimate relationship between Lennon and Brian Epstein that are probably true. Lennon was certainly a friend to Gay rights and LGBT people as Yoko has continued to demonstrate in her own works.
On the morning of December 8, 1980, Annie Leibovitz came over to the Ono-Lennon's apartment to do a photo shoot for the Rolling Stone magazine. She had promised Lennon it would make the cover but she initially tried to get a picture with just Lennon alone. Leibovitz would recall that, "nobody wanted [Ono] on the cover." When Lennon insisted that both be on the cover. Leibovitz then tried to recreate the kissing scene from the Double Fantasy album cover, a picture that she loved. With the pictures in hand, Annie Leibovitz left their apartment.
The Lennons spent several hours at the studio on West 44th Street before returning to The Dakota at about 10:50 p.m. Lennon was concerned about seeing five-year-old Sean before he went to sleep, so they returned to the Dakota instead of going out to eat. They exited their limousine on 72nd Street, even though the car could have been driven into the courtyard.
Jose Perdomo (who was the doorman at the entrance), an elevator operator, and a cab driver all saw Mark David Chapman standing in the shadows by the archway. The Lennons walked past, and Ono opened the inner door — leaving Lennon alone inside the entrance.
Chapman called out, "Mr. Lennon!" As Lennon paused to turn around, Chapman dropped into a "combat stance" and shot at Lennon five times with hollow point bullets from a Charter Arms .38 revolver. One shot missed, passing over Lennon's head and hitting a window of the Dakota building. Two shots struck Lennon in the left side of his back and two more in his left shoulder. All four wounds caused serious internal damage, and at least one of them fatally pierced Lennon's aorta.

🇮🇶 Salim Othman
Tumblr media
This outfit set is created from Lt. Salim Ohman's character from the  "House of Ashes" game series, which is a young Iraqi officer. But this outfit set quite resemble on what Iraqi troops wore during the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign.
Actually since 1980s, Iraqi forces haven't clear pattern of uniform, in other words, Iraqi forces utilised anything they could wear to their troops, even some source show the usage of DPM camo set within the Army mixed by the SSh-68 helmet or what we show here. The outfit itself might be an influence from the old British army's field dress, as well as in other Arab states at that time.

Weapons (Exclusive to This Set)
-M4A1
Tumblr media
I personally fond of the weapons design in this game. but sadly I disapprove of the anachronism featured in the accessories selection. Starting with the Magpul products, Magpul Industries was established in 1999, resulting in its existence by the time of the Iraq War. The products depicted in the game were not accurate. Firstly, the MOE (Magpul Original Equipment) product lines were not officially released until 2008, which makes the stock on the M4A1 anachronistic. The pistol grip is not an original A2 type pistol grip since it does not have a finger hump, and there is an extension to the receiver. The handgrip could be a MOE handgrip, but it could also be the Magpul MIAD (Mission Adaptable) handgrip with adjustable back and front straps. The MIAD was released earlier than the MOE, but it was released in 2004, a year after the game's setting. The Marines used Magpul EMAGS (export mags) that had flat sides and a witness window for ammunition. These magazines were not released until 2009. The old steel or aluminum STANAGS would be accurate. While the M4A1 was correctly portrayed with a quad-railed handguard, the type of handguard used for military-issued carbines was incorrect. The rail that should be used is the Knight's Armament Company M4 RAS Forend. The rail system in the game seemed to be heavily influenced by the UTG two-piece handguard and the Surefire M82 handguard. While according to three veterans I talked to about military issued small arms (two Army and one Navy) it is possible to set up your rifle with what you want so having the UTG handguard is not impossible, but it begs the question of why these Marines would go out of their way to pay for the lesser quality of the UTG instead of using the standard issued Knight’s system. UTG was most likely what developers had access to for a reference.

With Trijicon The Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG)
-Glock 17
Tumblr media
While Glocks did exist by 2003, but the Glock shown in the game would be 15 years too early because the game used the Generation 5 model of Glocks and Glock’s Gen 5 came out in 2018. The Gen 5 is characterized with the beveled front of the slide and frame, hole in the middle of the guide rod, front slide serrations (although the real Gen 5s’ serrations are straight, not slanted), no finger grooves on the the bottom of the frame (where the flashlight is attached in the game), an ambidextrous slide release, and only one trigger pin.
Glock 17 (#Custom 21)
Tumblr media
I made another fix to make it Fit into Game Settings and replaced it with Gen 3 Glocks. as This Particular Generation was Introduced in 1998. The Gen 3 has finger grooves, no front slide serrations, no ambidextrous slide release, no beveled front slide nor beveled frame, a rail on the bottom of the frame and two trigger pins. Attaching an aftermarket flashlight is possible with a rail on the bottom.

BULGARIAN AKK-47
Just some Creativity Liberty I Take, Despite I Know the Facts AK That Used in Game in Fact Soviet Type 3 AK, But I Found it Interesting if they using Bulgarian Ones

Iraqi Tariq Pistol
The pistol of the Republican Guard in the game was the Beretta 1951, or rather its Iraqi copy: the Tariq. The giveaway that it’d likely be the Tariq was the presence of a medallion on the pistol grip, something the original Beretta did not have. Besides the incorrect shape of the slide release and the three holes in the trigger.

Also have a safe and thrilling new year, hope the best is coming for us all 💚

WARNINGS: as sweet as can be + probably too short for any of our likings! & Seth and reader are (aged up) about 25 :) + a quick write—if you couldn’t tell 😬
<- read my previous December anthology prompt here.
❅✧˖°・:*:。・:*:・゚.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ❅✧˖°・:*:。・:*:・゚.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ❅✧˖°・:
you’re at your parents, it’s early (to you) around ten am and you’re outside in the backyard. It’s the night after the annual Christmas party your parents threw, you crashed here at their residence that they’ve owned for around three years now and it still didn’t quite feel like home. You could say California never did, it didn’t give you the feeling of sunny superstar dreams and wonder—it turned out to be just another mile you can simply tick off from your odometer.
it’s funny how you never had the desire to be in this state in the first place and here you are living here for the past six months. You’ve been a few places since La Push,(Oregon, Minnesota, Maine, and finally residing in British Columbia prior) spending a good twenty years there before deciding to look elsewhere. You left before your family did and it wasn’t ever a competition but they can honestly say you’re the influence that pushed them to see more.
Everything of course was not all fun and games outside of the world you once knew but you wouldn’t completely rewind and start over. Some things needed to be done to figure out where you truly had to be. Which was your answer for it all but that came with tears you couldn’t hold back as you finished off a cupcake.
The end of the year was so near and yes you were thankful to be closer to your family again and the sprinkle of success this year brought to your table but there always seemed to be something still missing that you couldn’t shake. You’ve grown accustomed to everlasting change in your life—I mean the supernatural world can get pretty wild no matter where you went but you knew how to get adjusted after some time. Yet you couldn’t explain the puffiness on your face to yourself although those deemed it as good sleep. Waking up in tears was not what you expected the day after spreading joy but the cool plunge from the winter air soothed you just fine.
Wrapped in a blanket, staring out into the pale yellow sun behind the haze of blue, you’re chewing the last of the soft cupcake, lost in your own feelings that you don’t even register your name being called. Standing in the middle of the slightly messy backyard, you take your time glancing over your shoulder at the mention of your name and feel your breathing hitch.
Behind your father is a face that you’re all too familiar with. Then it all starts to make sense as a once cautious glance turns into a famous grin that always meets his dark eyes. You’re supposed to be cleaning up the backyard but instead you’re running full speed into the tender arms of a person dear to your heart.
Seth Clearwater.
Your eldest friend who you had the best time getting in touch with over the last year. How ironic is it that he’s been living in California all these years? Information that your parents left out although your dad talked to Charlie and Sue often. Perhaps that was their way of protecting your heart? That Seth was once upon a time a brushed off subject that most refrained from bringing him up. He was disappointed that you were leaving five years ago and you tried your hardest for him to go along with you but Seth wasn’t ready to leave La Push behind for good like you were.
You were both on opposite ends. You finished community college and you were accepted into another school in a different state but those two years felt like enough for you. You had savings for traveling and that’s what you did, to find a better sense of yourself outside of what you’ve always known.
Unfortunately that included Seth.
You tried to keep up with postcards, phone calls, emails, and texts but that just became a reminder that life went on without each other in it. Something you both had to accept although the sadness was hard to beat until you both learned to stop thinking as much.
Perhaps you never really did.
“Thought you couldn’t make it!” Your head is buried into his shoulder as you squeeze him tightly.
You haven’t seen each other since you were both twenty, reconnecting through social media after Seth decided to hop back on and it was shocking to hear that he and Leah were both making an attendance to your parents home, flying and driving in that Friday. The dejection was evident on your face when Leah was at the door alone and she made blunt attempts (in Leah fashion) to soothe over the sting. She was very vague and so was Sue—which was not like her now looking back on it.
Seth was expecting a text from you, questioning about his whereabouts but was met with radio silence which said enough. He was quick to question everyone else in the family group chat but sue was more reassuring than his step-dad Charlie and big sister were.
He chuckles as he wraps an arm around you, “Fooled ya, didn’t I? There’s no way I’d bail out completely. Just got wrapped up in some last minute things on the holidays, which sucked but I’m here now to see you.”
Lifting your head you stare up at Seth, scanning over his features which were still there, just defined as he stood in his adulthood, with his hair much longer and free on his terms.
“I’m glad.” You offer a smile, which felt tight against your slightly swollen face, “and also can’t believe it! When Leah told me something came up, I actually wanted to head back home.”
“Aw well…I’m glad you didn’t.” Seth informs, “I hear you have a strange roommate according to your dad.”
You glance at the space where your dad once stood and scoff. “Melvin just…loves his reptiles. He works at a pet store and I told him that as long as he has a good watch on them and I don’t get bit by any of them to the point I’m unalived then…it’s cool with me.”
Seth raises his brows, “Wow…I’m impressed.”
“What? Why?”
“If I remember correctly you were afraid of the simplest of things like: crickets, dragonflies, and butterflies. Now you’re telling me you live with reptiles?” Seth quizzes with a smirk.
You shrug, “you can’t hold the past against me! I’m experienced such growth and we have time talk about everything right?”
Seth briefly cups your cheek, before slipping it to rest against your blanket covered shoulder, “as much time as we need.”
One thing about Seth Clearwater, he’s always been sincere and that hasn’t changed in the last five years.
“I have something for you,” you say disappearing into the house, ignoring the stares from your dads’ to grab the item before heading out back once more, “here we are.”
Seth lowers his head a bit as you get the item settled and he peeks up with a grin, “Did you make me a tinsel crown?”
“You may have missed out on the shenanigans last night but I saved you one just in case,” you tell as Seth models the shiny crown in the backyard while you clap in approval.
Seth sighs, “thanks for thinking of me…care to take a stroll and tell me everything?”
He holds his hand out, awaiting for your grasp and you don’t hesitate because you know that Seth will share the same as you make laps in the backyard together. Arm now looped with his, head resting against his shoulder as you take turns telling each other just how much you missed being side by side.
The looks of longing passed between the two of you, which answers the questions the final month of the year brings: you’ll always be the best part of each others lives no matter what the distance may bring.
Seth’s warmth and compassion reminds you that, the blues—you didn’t realize that you even had—don’t deserve a place here.
He does.

2023 Fic Round Up (Part 2: Fic Quotes)
Tumblr media
For favorite lines, I tried to choose quotes that may have less visibility—maybe they haven't made it into a tumblr post or the summary, but I love them all the same. To make this easier for myself, I'm limiting this to quotes from my three published works that I'm the most proud of, plus the two WIPs that I've worked on the most recently.
Presented in reverse chronological order, I present fic quotes:
Unnamed Porn Star x Filmmaker AU
I literally wrote both of these as I outlined two days ago, so they have not reached their Final Form. Also, Smut Warning.
Alex is jealous of the wax. An inanimate object. For being spread across another man’s body. He’s pretty sure he’s completely lost his mind.
Moments later, Henry comes all over Basil’s hand as he uses it to stroke Henry, coating the deep blue wax that’s slowly hardening on his dick. A completely fucking mess. Alex wants to get his mouth on it.
Honey, You're Familiar (From My Mirror Years Ago) aka the Dads Fic
I've shared a lot of my favorites, but I don't know if I've shared this—pretty prose has never been a strength of mine, so I'm pretty proud of this:
June glances up at Henry, studying him for a moment. He wonders what she sees, if she can tell that he’s a crystal vase filled with a bouquet of emotions—absolutely transparent and if nudged too hard, the carefully crafted container might just crack apart, contents spilling out, shattering all remnants of what might have once been construed as beautiful.  An unavoidable mess. The hyacinths, taking up most of the space, for regret and remorse. Tulips, a bit hopeful, for forgiveness. Purple lilac, stubbornly wedged in the mix from the first moment Alex flashed his smile at Henry, for love at first sight. He thinks maybe June does catch a glimpse of the blossoms, because the next thing he knows, her eyes face softens a bit, and she’s turning back to face her cousins with her hand pressed against Henry’s back. It’s not the touch of the Claremont-Díaz sibling he craves, but it still settles him somehow, even before she speaks.
(Dil)Do It Yourself
Chapter 1
“Pez, like the candy?” Alex blurts out. He doesn’t have much of a filter on a good day, but hot people make his porous coffee filter turn into a goddamn colander.
Also Chapter 1
"If I find that you have somehow managed to muck it up, how should I plan to contact you?” Alex grins back at Henry. He has no fucking clue why this British elf who speaks like a Victorian orphan and looks like he stepped out of a Calvin Klein photoshoot has him thinking about getting a second apartment key made, but here he is. Mentally googling routes to his nearest hardware store. “Well, usually, when it’s for business I just give out my fax,” he drawls, unable to contain his smile as he gets to the second half of his sentence. “But since I’m fairly interested in mixing this with pleasure, I guess I can share my cell number.”
Soft stuff before the less soft stuff in Chapter 3
What he’s absolutely not prepared for is the look on Henry’s face when he spots Alex entering the shop—like Alex just saved babies from a burning building or cured cancer or something. It’s way too fucking much when Henry doesn’t even know about Alex’s coffee addiction or the way he incessantly taps his foot when he’s focused or how Alex accidentally interrupts people when he starts getting really passionate in a debate. Maybe Alex can accept that Henry’s into his jokes or his smile or his dick. But basically, Henry hasn’t learned about all the other stuff that comes with spending an extended period of time around Alex. He’s not getting his hopes up. Except when Henry smiles, and softly greets him with “I missed you,” Alex absolutely gets his hopes up.
Claremont 2008
Both of these are from the final chapter of the fic:
Henry’s sitting at his desk, a heavily annotated Norton’s Anthology of Poetry propped open to his left, a notebook full of beautiful, neat cursive laid open to his right. The soft glow of his lamp warms the small space, coupled with the changing light from the window as the early sunset fills the room with an orangey light that makes Henry appear golden, like he’s been blessed by Apollo, or Helios, or some other sun god.
Finally arriving at their door, Henry unlocks it for the first time, the movers having finished up while the two of them went over to pick up a nametag for their new roommate. After taking a few steps down the hall, they enter into a cozy living room already filled with both their book collections and their family photos all jumbled together. The Lightning Thief sits next to Pride and Prejudice like they’re two puzzle pieces aligning, a photo of Henry and Arthur on a sailboat hangs next to one of Alex sitting on his abuela’s lap: two homes side by side.
Freaky Friday (I woke up in my enemy's body)
Alex waxing poetic about Shaan's ass
“You can, er , go,” Alex directs him, though it comes out like more of a question. Apparently it was effective enough, though, because the guy exits, and the phrase “hate to see you go, love to watch you leave” pops into his mind when he gets a view of his ass strutting out of the room in that suit.
The Great Dick Soliloquy
Eventually, and to Alex’s great shame, he gives in. He just has to know, okay? It’ll just be a brief glimpse, he assures himself. Alex is not kidding when he says that he took one glance at Henry’s dick and it changed his life. He really did intend on it being a brief glimpse.
Thank you to @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @firenati0n @anincompletelist for the tags!

Okay now the older stuff:
The Uncanny - Solid British anthology horror with cats as a theme. A little more intense than expected. Graveyard Disturbance - Lamberto Bava Scooby-Doo type of thing with friends staying the night in a creepy crypt. Killer Crocodile - B-movie about a radioactive croc attacking everybody. The Devonsville Terror - Town has history torturing and killing women accused of being witches. Present day women find moods haven't changed much, and might have a link to original accused witches. And Soon the Darkness - 70s suspense thriller about 2 British women on a bike ride holiday in France. One of them goes missing, and her friend tries to find help. Unfriended - Friends on a video chat experience a supernatural entity. The Caller - Strange 2-person suspense thriller from the 80s that feels like a play. Man shows up at a woman's house during a stormy night. She's there alone. They have conversations trying to learn each others motives and if either of them is in danger from the other. Very diabolical, and has a memorable ending. The Laughing Dead - Archaeological bus trip to Mexico turns into supernatural monster mash The Giant Spider Invasion - Exploitation B-Movie with a lot of weirdo stuff. Fun. Curse of the Blue Lights - A group of friends happen across the lair of 3 demon monster guys bent on malevolence. Habit - Fessenden romance horror about a guy dating a vampire woman. Queens of Evil - 70s atmospheric Italian horror about a motorcyclist who stumbles upon 3 beautiful sisters living in a big house in the forest. Splatter: Naked Blood - During the clinical trials for a contraceptive, a scientist's son adds his own formula to the drug. This makes the girls in the trial able to withstand extreme pain and to experience pleasure from it. Exte: Hair Extensions - Japanese horror about evil hair extensions that take over the brain. The Vineyard - Fun James Hong horror about an evil shithead using peoples blood to make wine that keeps him young. Scary Movie - John Hawkes, terrified of everything, goes to a Texas community haunted house, but there's an escaped mental patient on the loose. Mimic - GDT horror about a cockroach monster that lives in the sewer and can look like a person. Faust: Love of the Damned - Weird Brian Yuzna super demon hero bullshit about a guy that sells his soul to become devil batman. The Relic - Monster in museum

Glynis Margaret Payne Johns (October 5, 1923 - January 4, 2024) Film, stage and television actress, dancer, musician and singer. In a career spanning eight decades on stage and screen, Johns appeared in more than 60 films and 30 plays. She has received various accolades throughout her career, including a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, a National Board of Review Award, and a Laurel Award, in addition to nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award. She is widely considered as being one of the last surviving major stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood and classical years of British cinema.
Johns made her television debut in 1952 with Fletcher Markle's Emmy Award-winning series Little Women. She appeared in just one episode: season 4's "Lilly, the Queen of the Movies" as Lily Snape. Her television credits of the 1950s include brief appearances in the Hollywood anthology series Lux Video Theatre (in the 1953 episode "Two For Tea"), Errol Flynn's anthology series The Errol Flynn Theatre (in the 1956 episodes "The Sealed Room" as Lou McNamara and "The Girl in Blue Jeans" as The Girl Susan Tracey), CBS's anthology series Schlitz Playhouse of Stars (in the 1957 episode "The Dead Are Silent"), and ABC's variety and drama series The Frank Sinatra Show (in the 1958 episode "Face of Fear" as Christine Nolan)
Johns was cast in 1961 in the ABC/Warner Bros. crime drama The Roaring 20s. She portrayed Kitty O'Moyne, an Irish immigrant who falls overboard into the harbour as she arrives in the United States. Johns guest-starred in the CBS anthology seriesThe Lloyd Bridges Show in the episode "A Game for Alternate Mondays" of the 1962–63 television season, playing widow Leah Marquand, with Leslye Hunter as her daughter Isabella. On 5 August 1963, Vacation Playhouse premiered the episode "Hide and Seek" as the pilot of her eponymous CBS television series Glynis. The original working title for the series was The Glynis Johns Show; in it, Johns played the neophyte mystery writer and amateur sleuth Glynis Granvile. In the autumn of that year, Glynis officially premiered, starring Johns and Keith Andes as a married couple, Glynis Granville and Keith Granville, a criminal defence attorney. Due to pressure from NBC's The Virginian and Bill Cullen's The Price Is Right game show on ABC, the programme was cancelled after thirteen episodes. In 1965, when CBS reran the series as a summer replacement for The Lucy Show, Glynis ranked #6 in the Nielsen ratings. Johns remained busy on screen, appearing as Steffi Bernard in the episode "Who Killed Marty Kelso?" of ABC's detective series Burke's Law opposite Gene Barry. In 1967, she appeared in four episodes of the Batman television series as villainess Lady Penelope Peasoup, one half of the evil duo with Rudy Vallée as her brother Lord Marmaduke Ffogg.
During the first season of NBC's hit sitcom Cheers, Johns guest-starred as Diane Chambers' mother, Helen Chambers, an eccentric dowager who, due to a stipulation in Diane's late father's will, will lose all her money unless Diane is married by the next day. In 1985, Johns played Bridget O'Hara in the episode "Sing a Song of Murder" of CBS's crime drama television series Murder, She Wrote, working again with Angela Lansbury. From 1988 to 1989, she played Trudie Pepper, a senior citizen living in an Arizona retirement community, in the television sitcom Coming of Age, also on CBS. ANGEL: What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so a few months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M. C. Esher perspective. But I did get time to think. About us, about the world. Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us. Champions. It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world were as it should be, to show it what it can be. You're not a part of that yet. I hope you will be. I love you, Connor. Now get out of my house.

Excerpt:
The dive chamber was dark. The only light filtered upward from the moon window set into the floor. Large and circular, it served as the portal through which ze would exit and, hopefully, return. A transparent barrier of purple-tinged glass sat between Stone and the outside. The Nightmare Sea spread out below zir.
“Copy,” Leigh said. “Three…”
The color of the glass made the ocean of trees below look blue. Even with that tint, the swirls of cloud that clung to the spiralling shapes shimmered through every colour Stone knew and several ze didn’t.
“Two…”
Wind currents batted at the treetops. Most of them splashed off like water on the shore, faint trails in the sky the only evidence they’d even tried.
“One…”
Stone breathed in deeply, then let the air hiss out between zir teeth. Zir fingers flexed inside the heavy gloves. Far below, something in the shining sea reflected like metal instead of like heat shimmer or phantasmal crystal. It was near zir planned diving path.
“Diving.”

Timothy Winters
Today we had an old post of our liked by a poster named Timothy Winters, much to our surprise and delight.
It’s a British Isles thing, as many of us who went through the school systems over here will have encountered this poem in our early years, for the simple appalling reason it has never lost its relevance.
Timothy Winters comes to school With eyes as wide as a football-pool, Ears like bombs and teeth like splinters: A blitz of a boy is Timothy Winters.
His belly is white, his neck is dark, And his hair is an exclamation-mark. His clothes are enough to scare a crow And through his britches the blue winds blow.
When teacher talks he won't hear a word And he shoots down dead the arithmetic-bird, He licks the pattern off his plate And he's not even heard of the Welfare State.
Timothy Winters has bloody feet And he lives in a house on Suez Street, He sleeps in a sack on the kitchen floor And they say there aren't boys like him anymore.
Old Man Winters likes his beer And his missus ran off with a bombardier, Grandma sits in the grate with a gin And Timothy's dosed with an aspirin.
The welfare Worker lies awake But the law's as tricky as a ten-foot snake, So Timothy Winters drinks his cup And slowly goes on growing up.
At Morning Prayers the Master helves for children less fortunate than ourselves, And the loudest response in the room is when Timothy Winters roars "Amen!"
So come one angel, come on ten Timothy Winters says "Amen Amen amen amen amen." Timothy Winters, Lord. Amen.
(In some anthologies, that last verse is omitted)
The poem was written by Charles Causley, a Cornish schoolteacher from the little town of Launceston (where Siouxsie and The Banshees guitarist John McGeogh also lived). Legend has it was refused the post of Poet Lauriette because he was considered too radical, but that never stopped him being made a CBE.
When at 83 years old and in declining health he was finally made a Companion of Literature by the snooty Royal Society of Literature, he greeted this award with a sardonic, ‘My goodness, what an encouragement!’
(Since that time, the RSL ironically has become so dumbed down that J. K. Rowling and the scriptwriters of Doctor Who are Companions ...)
‘Timothy Winters’ was published in 1957 in his poetry collection ‘Union Street’. Causley had been in the Royal Navy in World War Two and was one of thousands that believed in the promise of the Beveridge Report, but by the late 1950s saw its emasculation by successive governments and vested interests result in thousands of children growing up in appalling conditions, despite the promise of the Welfare State that no one would be allowed to live in poverty, squalor and neglect.
School children were once entitled to a free school lunch to ensure they ate at least one healthy meal a day, and to those like Timothy Winters the morning’s lessons were often lost as they wished away the hours to the lunchtime bell, and any child welfare payments were often treated as ‘beer and fag money’ by the feckless parents of the underclass.
The reference to Suez is to do with the Suez Crisis of the previous year, which caused the collapse of Antony Eden’s government and triggered a recession due to spiralling food and fuel prices (nothing changes, eh?). Many felt Britain should not have been embarking on expensive foreign policy interventions when large numbers of British cities and towns remained bombsites twelve years since the end of the Second World War.

Comic artists researches. Part 1
Frank Miller:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frank Miller is an American comic book artist, comic book writer, and screenwriter known for his comic book stories and graphic novels such as his run on Daredevil, for which he created the character Elektra, and subsequent Daredevil: Born Again, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, Sin City, and 300.
What is Frank Miller doing now?
On April 28, 2022, it was reported that Miller was launching an American comic book publishing company titled Frank Miller Presents, or FMP. Miller will act as the company's president and editor-in-chief, working alongside Dan DiDio as publisher and chief operating officer Silenn Thomas.
Did Frank Miller draw Daredevil?
He started out with minor tasks, like drawing covers and short stories for Spiderman anthologies. Then, at the beginning of 1979, came the big break: Miller became the official artist for Daredevil, one of Marvel's lesser-known series.
Who influenced Frank Miller?
Among his graphic influences were Neal Adams, Ernie Bushmiller, Guido Crepax, Will Eisner, Jack Kirby and Goseki Kojima. His made his debut in 1978 with contributions to Gold Key's The Twilight Zone. He soon also drew for DC anthologies and Marvel titles like 'Spectacular Spider-Man' and 'John Carter: Warlord of Mars'.
My opinion for this artist of his art style is very interesting for my opinion, that he uses some specific colours for different comic he made for Sin city, Daredevil and 300. As my point of view toward his comic is a mixed with a big art of scene in the comic and four small boxes to show what is going on with that scene which is very interesting to me.
╰── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╯
John Romita Jr.:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John Salvatore Romita is an American comics artist best known for his extensive work for Marvel Comics from the 1970s to the 2010s. He is the son of artist John Romita Sr.
When did John Romita Jr draw Spider-Man?
Romita Jr. made a name for himself as a key Marvel artist thanks in large part to his work on Spider-Man. He first drew the character in 1977, as the rising star son of the legendary John Romita Sr., and went on to become one of the definitive pencillers to ever work on the character.
What was the first comic of John Romita Jr?
Romita Jr. began his career at Marvel UK, doing sketches for covers of reprints. His American debut was with a six-page story entitled "Chaos at the Coffee Bean!" in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual (1977)
Is John Romita Jr back at Marvel?
He drew many of Marvel's greatest characters, and then moved to DC for a short period, where he also drew their greatest characters. John Romita Jr. has since returned to Marvel, getting his old job on The Amazing Spider-Man back.
My opinion for this artist of his art style is very pop culture-like as he is uses pop colours for example, red, blue, orange, yellow, etc. As he worked for Marvel as he did his work on Spider-Man as he first dew the character in 1977 as he is going to work back on the Spider-Man for Marvel.

Brian Bolland:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brian Bolland is a British comics artist. Best known in the United Kingdom as one of the Judge Dredd artists for British comics anthology 2000 AD, he spearheaded the 'British Invasion' of the American comics industry, and in 1982 produced the artwork alongside author Mike W. Barr on Camelot 3000, which was DC Comics' first 12-issue comicbook maxiseries created for the direct market.
What inspired Brian Bolland?
As early as 1962, aged 11, Bolland remembers thinking that "Carmine Infantino's work on the Flash and Gil Kane's on Green Lantern and the Atom had a sophistication about it that I hadn't [previously] seen." He would later cite Kane and Alex Toth as "pinnacle[s] of excellence," alongside Curt Swan, Murphy Anderson
You'll be surprised to hear that even though Judge Dredd had been in 2000AD since Prog 2 the editors weren't sure which of the interior characters would sell the comic best if that character was on the cover. Artists like me just came up with cover ideas and, if they liked them, we'd draw the cover and they would write a one-page text story based on it to go inside. These early covers of mine fall into that category.
Other covers followed for nearly a third of the first 30 progs, as well as stand-alone pages and some inking duties on Gibbons' Dan Dare. Already familiar with Nick Landau (acting editor), when another artist dropped out, Bolland was called directly to complete a Judge Dredd story in Prog 41 (3 Dec 77) and soon was established as a regular artist on the series. "From that point on," writes Bolland, "either he [Landau] or his successor Steve MacManus called me direct whenever they wanted me to do a Dredd story."
Bolland's early work on Judge Dredd was much influenced by McMahon, a talented newcomer whose idiosyncratic style was fuelling the interest in the new character. Bolland thought McMahon was "terrific, the real ideas man on Dredd," but noted that McMahon's approach was "very impressionistic," while the "average comics reader, certainly at the time, does tend to prefer realism." Bolland therefore states that he "aped Mike's genius... and then reinterpreted [Dredd] in a style which actually borrowed a lot from the work of the American artists," retaining McMahon's "granite-jawed" look but bringing a level of realism and fine detail to the character, which Mark Salisbury says "finally cemented the iconic image."
My opinion for this artist of his art style is horrific but in a good way as he is showing us in the comic with joker and batman as showing the Joker a villain in a horrific, disgusting and creepy style as he is showing toward us in world that the style of his is amazing as he did a well done of showing the art style on the comic book to show what horrific is it.
